In the lives of counselor s assessment plays a great role. Assessments are what shows the counselor
what it is that their client is in need of help in. Like our book states, assessment is a complex, problem
solving process that allows us to collect information in order to better serve our client (Drummond,
Sheperis, Jones, 2016). I was not aware of how involved counselors are in the testing process until I
began this class. I now see that assessments also helps the client understand their own problems as

I selected the article Duty to Warn and Protect: Not in Texas for review, as it applies to the state in
which I reside. The article cites Texas Health and Safety Codes, based on a 1999 Texas Supreme Court
ruling that states counselors do not have a duty to warn or protect. Having a duty to warn and protect
is defined as protecting clients or others from perceived harm (Jackson Cherry Erford, 2014). An
example would be that a client tells their counselor in a confidential session that he is considering
stabbing his ex girlfriend. The duty to warn would mean the counselor should notify authorities and
the ex girlfriend thus breaking confidentiality. The duty to protect would be to admit client to a facility
for the client to be assessed for a propensity for violence towards the ex girlfriend. This became
important after a 1969 incident where a counselor, had a client expressed harm towards a girl and the
counselor contacted the authorities, yet never contacted the girl, who was subsequently killed by the
client a few months later, known as the Tarasoff v. Regents of the University of California case

had been paused for five years due to over hunting. In this time, the population of black bears has
risen once again to a safe level for hunting, and the republican controlled government has allowed
hunters to resume their hunting. Some wildlife activists see the hunts as unnecessary and cruel, and
wish to defend the bears. This belief is opposed by the hunting organizations that have pointed to a
long history of hunting, as well as the potential danger that black bears present, as points that may
hinder their cause. I am on the side of the hunters, as I think that the government s job is to make sure
both the bears are protected and the hunters are happy, and therefore a happy medium must be

Samuel Taylor Coleridge was born in Ottery St. Mary in England and was the last of 10 children. His
father died when he was 9 years old and at that time he was already into fantasy books. He later went
to school in in London and went to Cambridge University. Later in his life he made some
breakthroughs that caused a revolution in poetic style and thoughts. Towards the end of his life he was
troubled with some illnesses but is known for being the poet who established the importance of
imagination in literature. In the poem The Rime of the Ancient Mariner written by Samuel Taylor
Coleridge, there is an old man who tell a story that tells me 3 messages.
The first message from The Rime of the Ancient Mariner by Coleridge is that we have to protect the
innocents from being killed. In the poem they should have protected the albatross from being killed
because the albatross was an innocent bird that some thought was lucky and a sign of good luck. He
prayeth well, who loveth well Both man and bird and beast (lines 612 613) this is saying that animals
are always innocent. Out there are some people who are innocent to and it would be bad if we didn t
protect them because I think some of them would die. We have to keep those innocent people and
animals safe. The old man in this story was kind of cursed from shooting that bird and now has to tell
his story to younger people so they can learn from his mistakes.

assessment of the illusory nature of Romantic poetry?
Wordsworth recognises in the Preface to the 1802 print of Lyrical Ballads that he and Coleridge,
viewed by many as the most influential pioneers of Romantic poetry, are guilty of imbuing a certain
colouring of imagination throughout their poetry. Indeed, Romantic poetry is often characterised by its
fascination with the imagination and the idea that the mind can create a world that transcends the
physical senses. In light of this concept that a new and greater world can be forged through poetry,
some credence can certainly be found in Jerome McGann s evaluation that the primary purpose of
Romantic poetry is to set one free of the ruins of history and culture . However, McGann, in my
opinion, also oversimplifies the nuances and implications found throughout Romantic poetry, and
seems to dismiss it as somewhat escapist, or reliant on its displacement from reality to convey
meaning; ultimately, as a grand illusion . Through examination of works by Wordsworth, Coleridge,
Shelley, and Keats, I mean to propose, firstly, that Romantic poetry varies greatly throughout the
period meaning it frequently defies generic summation. Secondly, that Romantic poets often directly
