Healthcare Should Be Suu Kyi s First Priority For...
Introduction Than Aung is the current minister for the Ministry of Health in Burma. Than Aung is
fairly new to this job; he assumed office 1 August 2014. Than Aung is preceded by Pe Thet Khin who
was the minister from March 2011 July 2014. Before Aung became minister, he was the Deputy
Minister of the Ministry of Health in Burma. He was also a member of the Naypidaw Council and was
the Director of the Myanmar Army Medical Corps. Having such a successful career so far, his opinion
is taken very seriously with issues of healthcare.
Topic 1: The Platform of Aung San Suu Kyi
Aung San Suu Kyi states, If suffering were an unavoidable part of our existence, we should try to
alleviate it as far as possible in practical, earthly ways. Healthcare should be Suu Kyi s first priority
for reforming Burma. Burmese citizens, namely children, are not getting the healthcare that they
deserve. Although Burma is striving for universal healthcare, the amount of money allotted is not
enough for people to get the proper care that they need. As of 2014, Burma allotted approximately
$USD18 per capita while the regional average of south east Asia was approximately $USD70 per
capita. Burma needs to budget more money for healthcare. The mortality rate of children under the age
of five in Burma is 9.3% higher than the global average, and children are not the only place where
issues arise. Almost 1 in 4 Burmese citizens between 30 70 die from a noncommunicable disease
(NCD) of either a cancer,

Victor Salva Directing Third Jeepers Movie Summary
In Devin Faraci s article Child Molestor Victor Salva Directing Third Jeepers Creepers Movie in his
opinion, Faraci provides a detailed news report on child molestor Victor Salva being hired as the
director for the new Jeepers Creepers movie. Appalled by the news, Faraci gives a brief history of
Victor Salva s crimes and reinstates that even though contrary to the public belief that Victor Salva,
accused and having served time for his rape of 12 year old child actor Nathan Forrest Winters, star of
Salvas film Clownhouse and owning child pornography, Salva, after serving his sentence continued to
shoot films with child actors regardless of his sexual predator nature.
Faraci is open with his discontent in the industries lack of morality and sense, by allowing a child
molester and sex offender to direct and be in contact with children in his previous and future films.
Faraci is also appalled by the way the industry and the public seems to have forgotten what Salva did
and why he should never direct again, especially not if there are kids involved.

Sarbanes Oxley Act Of 2002 (SOX)
The Sarbanes Oxley act of 2002(SOX), also known as the public company accounting reform and
investor protection act was enacted as a reaction to a number of major corporate and accounting
scandals. These scandals occurred in Enron Corporation, WorldCom, Tyco International, Adelphia and
Peregrine Systems. These companies and corporations were looking very financial sound and very
attractive to investors. However the investors did not know that the success of these companies were
cause by false reports and artificial profits. Which cost investors billions of dollars when their share

Sons Of Thunder Inc V Borden Case Analysis
Section Two: the Legal Ramifications Mr. Petersen could seek monetary compensation by litigation or
arbitration methods. If Mr. Petersen choices litigation he could file a lawsuit against me for breach of
contract. He could claim I have violated the terms of the written contract by not continuing to supply
him with the same volume and shipment quantity of grapes at the per market jump price. Mr. Petersen
could also claim promissory estoppel on the grounds that he believed my son was acting as a company
agent and I did not dispel that belief; therefore, my son would be considered authorized to act on my
behalf (Restatement (third) of Agency, 2006). If the court upholds the doctrine of estoppel, then under
U.C.C. section 2 306 which governs requirements contracts I would be legally obligated to continue

Petersen could sue for compensatory damages. Within the Sons of Thunder case, a jury found the
defendant (Borden Inc) to have breach its implied duty of good faith and fair dealing by terminating
the contract and the jury awarded the plaintiff compensatory damages of $412,000, which the plaintiff
would have received if the contract had been fulfilled (Sons of Thunder, Inc v Borden, Inc, 1997).
Thus, Mr. Petersen could seek compensatory damages for lost profits which would have been gained if
the contract had not been breach. Mr. Petersen could also seek remedies for the breach. The U. C. C.
provides laws by which a buyer may obtain remedies for a breach of sale contract. Under section 2
716, the buy could compel the seller to fulfill the contract (specific performance) and has the right to
recover damages after the contract s cancellation (U.C.C. §2 716, 2012). But specific performance
mandates by courts are rare (Kubasek, Brennan, Browne, 2015); therefore, Mr. Petersen should seek

1960 Valdivia Earthquake In Chile
1960 Valdivia earthquake
Introduction
On the 21 May, 1960 a huge earthquake struck Valdivia, Chile. This earthquake had a magnitude of
9.5 leaving families broke. There was an estimation of about 5,000 people killed 2,000 left homeless
and 3,000 people injured.
Body Paragraph 1
The Valdivia earthquake triggered a massive tsunami that raced across the Pacific. Waves wrecked
coastal communities as far away as New Zealand, Japan, and the Philippines. In Hawaii, the tsunami
devastated the coastal town of Hilo, killing 61 people and all around where it struck equals up to 5,000
people killed. 1960 Valdivia earthquake struck southern Chile, at 4:20 p.m.
Body Paragraph 2
As the earthquake occurred just prior to a revolution in seismologic technology in the 1960s, these
figures are based mainly on post hoc analysis. The fault displacement source of the earthquake
extended over an estimated 560 620 mile (900 1,000 km) stretch of the Nazca ... Show more content

Cause Of High School Dropouts In The United States
Causes of High School Dropouts
Did you know that in a single year about 1.2 millions students dropout from high school in the United
States that s a student every 26 seconds, or 7,000 a day. Even about 25% of high school freshman will
drop out before graduating. With so many high school dropouts, it leaves schools wondering why
students are dropping out and their reason for it. In the 1970s 1990s areas with low income housing
resulted in high crime statistics and dangerous choices in the youth of the time were a major cause in
high high school dropout rates.
In America a dropout will earn about $200,000 less than a high school graduate, and about million
dollars less than a college graduate. In schools that are surrounded by a low income ... Show more

Abigail Adams Book Critique In the novel, Abigail Adams: A Revolutionary American Woman,
Charles Akers portrays the life of a strong, revolutionary woman named Abigail Adams. She was
known as the first lady of the United States under John Adams and she played an indirect role in
influencing the American Revolution. She is called one of the founders of the country for her
revolutionary thinking and her being a rights activist. Abigail Adams faced many hardships throughout
her life. She was the daughter of a minister and had two sisters and a brother. In the 1700 s, children
did not have a high survival rate due to the amount of diseases and nothing to treat them with. Abigail
Adams said in her old age that she was always sick (Akers 5). This reminds people how tough life was
in the 1700 s and how easy it was to pass away from a mere cold. Abigail also did not have any
education growing up. Women, in the colonial era, were not supposed to have an education and were
supposed to watch the kids, cook, and clean. Readers of this book learn that many women back then
were illiterate and were self taught, if they had any education. Abigail did find a love for literature due
to her sister s spouse, Richard Cranch. He influenced her love for literature at a young age and she
started to become more literate. Along with the disease and educational deficiency, women were
considered as property. A young woman could either give up

Plato s View On Morality And Justice
Plato s Republic proposes a number of intriguing theories, ranging from his contemporary view of
ethics to political idealism. It is because of Plato s emerging interpretations that philosophers still refer
to Plato s definitions of moral philosophy as a standard. Plato s possibly most argued concept could be
said to be the analogy between city and soul in Book IV, partially due to his expansive analysis of
justice and the role justice plays in an ideal city, which has some key flaws. Despite these flawed
assumptions that my essay will point out, Plato s exposition on ethics is still relevant for scholars and
academics to study, due to his interpretive view on morality and justice.
1.
Socrates attempts to formulate a definition of the word, moderation, to investigate how the virtue of
moderation comes into play with the human soul. Socrate s elucidates how moderation is often
perceived as the mastery of certain kinds of pleasures and desires, and explore how the controller of
the weak and strong are both the same person. Consequently Socrates ridicules the word, self control.
Just as Thrasymachus argues in Book I that justice is, the advantage of the stronger, and whether the
people who are actually ruling are those best suited to rule, Plato s argument also seems to revolve
around this concept, as the reader questions whether there is a part of the soul which is naturally suited
to rule. To further consider this notion, Socrates discusses how a master of

Thomas Jefferson A Hypocrite Analysis
The Declaration of Independence states how we as the Thirteen Colonies declared independence from
Great Britain. One of the major arguments made by Thomas Jefferson that supported the colonies right
of independence was how, All men are created equal . However, some question Jefferson s choice to
put forth that statement, and find him a hypocrite, since he himself was a slave owner. On the contrary,
Jefferson should not be seen as a hypocrite, because we can not judge Jefferson from a modern
perspective, as well as Jefferson supported blacks, thus he included a passage regarding slavery in his
draft of the Declaration of Independence, which was later deleted by congress. One reason why
Thomas Jefferson should not be seen as a hypocrite is because we can not pass judgment on Jefferson
from a present day point of view. One example from Thomas Jefferson and the Character Issue by
Douglas L. Wilson that highlights this is, the question of why Jefferson didn t free his slaves only
serves to illustrate how presentism involves us in mistaken assumptions about historical conditions
(Wilson pg 6). This quote highlights how we can not judge from a modern perspective, if we do we
would have, mistaken assumptions , regarding Jefferson s thoughts. However, it is important to
remember that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

view of our current ethics, and social

Telehealth Case Summary
Scenario 18 1 Telehealth is the use of telecommunications technologies for the provision of long
distance clinical health care, patient and professional education, and health administration (Guido,
2014). Chest pain is one of the most common causes for referral to emergency departments (ED),
accounting for several million visits annually (Goodacre et al., 2005). In the given scenario, the call
was made by the wife of the patient reporting complains of chest pain. She described that her husband
is having a constant pain in the left side of his chest and upper arm and that he was having shortness of
breath and wasn t able to talk to the nurse himself. The patient hadn t been to his HCP for eight years.
During the conversation the patient started breathing easier and his wife was asking if they could go to
the urgent care not right now but on Monday morning, which is almost two days after. The time of the
scenario is Saturday evening. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I would definitely stress assessing the risk factors this man could have for having an acute heart
attack, MI, like: does anything make it better or worse? If he has any weakness, fatigue, cold sweat,
dizziness, indigestion? I would suggest the nurse to assess the possible risk factors, like history of
hypertension, family history, smoking history, high cholesterol, diabetes. Recent updated NICE
guidance recommends 12 lead electrocardiography as soon as possible in patient with acute chest pain
but warns not to exclude ACS if the ECG is normal (Cooper, Timmis, Skinner, 2010). I would
recommend the wife to go to the nearest emergency room to check her husband s heart, because taking
into the consideration that the patient has no health history for a long period of time, he spent a lot of
time working in the garden prior to the onset of classic heart attack symptoms. I think it is always

A Brief History of the Berlin Wall Essay
The Berlin Wall
Walls are one of man s oldest defenses; physical barriers that are erected to keep people out, or, in
some cases, to keep them in. Walls are physical fortifications that create tension and distain among
people on both sides. This is what the Berlin Wall, or der Mauer in German, was; a physical barrier
created in Berlin, Germany during the Cold War. It was created by the East Germans in an attempt to
stop East German citizens from immigrating to Western Germany. However, the Berlin wall was a
crude attempt to separate the political and social variances in Germany during the Cold War, because,
while it created a physical barrier, it still was unable separate people in an ethic manor.
Notably, before the walls creation, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Physically it was a 13ft high wall topped with barbed wire which extended 27 miles through the center
of the city (Raichelle). This large barrier came equipped with guards, and only had a small gate termed
Checkpoint Charlie, which was reserved for military and diplomatic use between the two sides
(Tucker). The wall was the tall divider of people; of families and friends, as it was created to keep
people from leaving.
After its construction, The Wall separated the two sides, but also created more issues than it solved.
For instance, between 1961 and 1989, the East German guards shoot to kill order against refugees
resulted in about 250 300 deaths ( Berlin Wall ). Those killed were most likely the artisans who
desired to leave in the first place, or the people who were separated from their families in the initial
construction of the Wall. Seeing as it also stretched through the center of the city, anyone caught on
the wrong side was trapped there. They were stuck, forced to spend their days separated. If they
attempted to leave, they could become part of the 200 people who were shot dead while attempting to
scale the wall (Raichelle). However, despite this, thousands of East Germans still managed to escape
across the barrier ( Cold War ). They left East Germany for the West; as the West had different ideals
that allowed these citizens to have more freedoms.
However, on November

Self-Reliance And Inter-Relationship In Gattaca
Self reliance versus Inter relationship
In the movie Gattaca, Vincent is very reliant on other people. He reaches his end goal by being self
reliant, but self reliance is only a part of succeeding in life. Vincent depended on many other people
like Jerome, Anton and Irene to shape him and push him into the type of person he is. Inter
relationships are a very important part of succeeding in life. He could have never got to where he was
in life if it wasn t for the help of primarily those three people. This essay will examine the Inter
relationships of Jerome, Anton, and Irene s relationship with Vincent along with self reliance and how
they differ and relate.
There is a fish called a Remora. It s a sucker fish that attaches itself to whales. The sucker fish feeds
off the whale, while the whale is being cleaned. The animal benefits of having unwanted parasites
eaten off them. The sucker fish benefits by having something to eat. They both use each other, but it is
more beneficial to the one than the other. The Remora fish doesn t have another fish attached to them.
Jerome and Vincent have a relationship like that also. They both use each other collectively to advance
to where they want to be in life. Vincent uses Jerome to get a job at Gattaca. Jerome benefits by
getting paid and living in the shadows. This interrelationship was very important because they
advanced to the places they wanted to be by using each other to get to the top. It is healthy to use one

The Role Of Violence In The White Tiger By Aravind Adiga
It cannot fairly be said that in Aravind Adiga s novel, The White Tiger, the only way to escape the
Darkness and advance in society is through violence, as an alternative route to the Light is presented
in the story arc of Vijay, the pig herder s son turned politician. Balram asserts that the murder of
Ashok is not only the direct cause of his new wealth and status, but also the only possible trigger for
his newfound social mobility. Yet, this is contradicted earlier in the story when he presents Vijay, the
bus driver, as his role model for a successful person. Vijay, in order to achieve his elevated position,
resorted to prostitution; despite not being a desirable alternative to violence, it is an alternative all the
same and therefore violence is not the only way to escape the Darkness. Following this logic, it is
Balram s story and the immediate increase in wealth that results from the murder of Ashok that best
supports violence as the only means of moving into the Light, and Vijay s story is the best evidence
against that point of view.
Although Balram argues that violence is his only way of overcoming the poverty he is born into,
Vijay, a man born into status even lower than Balram s, achieves power and wealth without resorting
to violence. Initially Balram presents Vijay as his role model, condoning the rumors of his prostitution
in order to advance socially. He portrays Vijay as the first entrepreneur [he] knew of and a man who
had made it in life (26), thereby

Analysis Of The Campaign Game
Pg. 263 277
The Campaign Game
As a fun fact, the term campaign has its origins from the military as this was the name given for when
the general had a strategy towards accomplishing a big goal. o The whole point of a campaign in
politics is that the primary nominee must create their own image of exemplary leadership and
confidence so they gain more supporters as Election Day grows closer and closer. o Technology also
has started to play a major role within the political system of the United States as a whole.
Back in the good old days, the way campaigns would work is that the primary nominees would get
their own train and travel the nation to speak and visit as many people as they possibly could afford. o
In today s world, the live television broadcasts of the nominee s campaign is the primary way
messages are spread to majority of the nation. o This has a bad side to it though because this gives the
media too much power and the media then begins to influence who to vote for rather than the
candidates themselves. o In addition to this, the creation the World Wide Web further increased the
amount of dependency campaigns have upon technology. o In fact, one of the very first things primary
nominees take the time to do is create a website so that the population are able to see their stance on
all the primary issues occurring.
The use of technology has also had a great impact upon the funding for these type of campaigns. o
Back when Obama was running, majority of

Cider With Rosie Analysis
Cider with Rosie is an autobiography written by the British author and poet Laurie Lee. The book
portrays Laurie Lee s childhood in the village of Slad. Lee uses vivid description throughout, which
makes the book come alive with characters and tales as if it what he is describing happened just
yesterday and not over a hundred years ago. He portrays a different world than ours today. A world
without cars and electricity, a past that has completely changed out of all recollection.
Autobiography
An autobiography is written by someone about their life and experiences. Cider with Rosie is written
like this. However it is not a conventional autobiography because instead of using chronological order
to tell his story, Laurie Lee has no specific order in the way he recalls his life. Moreover the way Cider
with Rosie is written portrays his life as a novel rather than an autobiography.
There are positives and negatives in writing an autobiography. Positive features are that the reader
gains an insight into the personality and traits of the author and sees the world through their eyes.
However one of the disadvantages to writing in an autobiography style is ... Show more content on

describes the world through the eyes of a child; unpredictable, frightening, large,

Demeter Vs. The Herdsman And The Weaver
In mythology, there are many stories, tales, or myths that have many things in common. Along with
these similarities, are differences. Just like other myths that we have read, the myths Demeter and The
Herdsman and the Weaver contain many similar characters, plot, and possibly setting.
Both myths have a similar character and a plot; a king and two people who care deeply for each other
but are seperated. In the first myth Demeter, Hades (the king of the underworld) stole Persephone (the
daughter of Demeter) away from her mother (Demeter), who was the goddess of grains and fruit.
Hades took Persephone to the underworld because he wanted her as his bride and thought she would
brighten up his life. Demeter became very depressed and along with her happiness, the world started
to die. Similar to the first myth, in The Herdsman and the Weaver there was also a king. The king
decided to find his lovely daughter, the greatest weaver in the world, a husband. He discovered a
herdsman who he thought would make a fine husband. After the young couple was married, they
started to spend all their time together frolicking in the fields. The king warned them not to abandon
their talent and work but they did not listen, so the king decided to punish them. The king made the
herdsman live in the Eastern sky and his daughter in the western sky. ... Show more content on

As a Designer
I must say that I was a little less than enthralled about receiving a project, which required me to hunt
down and interrogate an established designer to the point of annoyance. After reading the circulated
example and seeing that, the author Chris Metcalf, started with the same viewpoint. I began to be
swayed to the same train of thought, which had enlightened Chris. A sudden and drastic change in my
thoughts leads me to see that this is, hopefully, my final year as a student designer. The final year, in
which I can ask the questions, delve into, what is commonly believed to be, general knowledge within
the design field.

My Papa Knultz Analysis
Battered Knuckles While the subject of My Papa s Waltz by Theodore Roethke has spurred passionate
academic debate from professors, scholars, and students alike, the imagery, syntax, and diction of the
poem clearly supports the interpretation that Roethke writes My Papa s Waltz to reflect back to his
sentimental memories with his father. In brief, Roethke leaves the audience with an unclear
understanding of what the meaning of the poem is. In discussions of My Papa s Waltz, one
controversial issue is the father casually plays with the son. On the other hand, some readers argue that
the father is abusing his son straightforwardly. However, after contemplating the context of the poem
and gathering information from the text, it has become undeniably clear that the poem is about the
father abusing his son. Ultimately, Roethke writes My Papa s Waltz to illustrate a picture of his
nostalgic remembrance for the readers. The authors controversial poem becomes clear when one
carefully examines the context of the poem. In stanza one, line one, Roethke describes the papa in the
poem as having whiskey on [his] breath. This line illuminates the idea of the father being intoxicated;
hence, can lead to a change in behavior. Further, the change in behavior can be the cause of violence
towards the child in the poem. Coincidentally, Roethke s father dies in 1923 at the age of 52; thirty
eight years later Roethke writes My Papa s Waltz, roughly at 52 years of age. The

Reflection About Suffering
Introduction
Christians know other Christians are prone to suffering. Non Christians I have spoken to believe that
Christians have a happy life. Non believers believe we do not endure suffering simply because in their
reality, God is personified as a genie; Christians can simply pray for what they desire in life; examples
including money, power, wealth, and the Lord will grant those desires immediately. However,
Christians know suffering is inevitable. From a theological standpoint, suffering is defined as: the
experience of physical pain and mental distress. ( suffering ) If individuals were to evaluate suffering
from a Christian perspective, we must realize categories that come with suffering. First, suffering is
the consequence of the flawed nature of creation. Second, suffering is the direct consequence of one s
violation of God s laws. Third, suffering can be good for our faith, and finally suffering is embedded
in truth, Christianity, and within the church. Historical Development
Before looking at the categories which formulate suffering, I would like to look at Christian authors
who agreed with my categories of suffering and who also sparked my inspiration for evaluating
suffering from a believer s viewpoint.
The first author is John Bunyan. His book, The Pilgrim s Progress tells the story of Christian, a
pilgrim who journeys from the City of Destruction to the Celestial City. The City of Destruction
emulates the world; Celestial City heaven. Christian was

Conflict In Lord Of The Flies Essay
War is the state of conflict and competition between opposing forces. Nonetheless, war can be caused
through emotional and psychological issues through two sides that obtain power from the support of
influential followers. William Golding exhibits this perception in the novel, Lord of the Flies as a
plane carrying a group of British schoolboys is shot down over the Pacific during a combat warfare in
Europe. In the midst of consternation and chaos, Ralph, one of the many young boys on the plane, is
able to distinguish the fear among the boys and use them as a barrier to survival. Ralph s leadership is
visible from the beginning as he is elected leader of the boys, on the other hand, Jack is cheated out of
becoming the leader as he resembles a militaristic attitude who is greedy to make rules and discipline
anyone for breaking his rules. A component of the novel consists of Ralph and Jack struggling to
invest in each others distinct power leading to the boys descending into savagery and the loss of
civilization during the events of the atomic war. Through the background of the atomic war, Golding
demonstrates the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After Ralph is inducted as the true leader, Jack branches himself of from the group with his militaristic
authority power from Ralph s democracy power showing the similarities of the democracy East versus
the communist West. Consequently, war is used to refer to a threatening situation of instability rather
than two sides of power fighting to win. When one separates itself from a group, the leader and its
followers have to be alert of its own power and the other groups power that can uncover the
descendance of savagery and civilization. Conceding that war is a state of conflict, it is a group s
responsibility to hold accountable for its actions of others as a result from its everlasting

The Obesity Epidemic Of The United States Essay
Campaign to end obesity
Obesity continues to be a problem in the United States. With obesity rates on the rise something must
be done to prevent this massive issue. Seventeen percent of children and adolescents about 12.5
million are obese (Diet). Obesity is the result of a rise in fat that accumulated over time due to the lack
of exercise and having a calorie surplus due to unhealthy food. An adult with a BMI (body mass
index) higher than 30% is considered to be obese (Obesity). There isn t a direct focus on obesity,
because people don t think it s an important issue. To ensure a better future, solution is needed now.
The solution to ending the obesity epidemic by encouraging a healthier lifestyle on children at young
ages, improving nutrition at schools and restaurants, as well as providing more time and space for
citizens to get physically active.
The best way to begin a change in health in America is to start with encouraging a healthy lifestyle for
the younger generation. The United States has one of the largest percentiles of overweight/obese
children in the world. The public clearly knows this, but is failing to take action. The parents are
responsible for the future of their kids; they should take action early in securing a healthy future for
them. This can be done requiring all students in school to be part of some sort of sport in school or
outside; like a recreational league. It s up to the parents to take responsibility for this and make sure
their kids are

Essay on Nathaniel Hawthorne s The Scarlet Letter
Sigmund Freud, creator of the Freudian psychoanalysis, once said about hypocrisy, He does not
believe that does not live according to his belief. This is essentially Freud s loose definition of
hypocrisy, a term that the Oxford English Dictionary defines as the practice of claiming to have moral
standards or beliefs to which one s own behavior does not conform. In Nathaniel Hawthorne s novel
The Scarlet Letter, the characters hypocrisy represents the pervasiveness of hypocrisy in all people.
Hypocrisy is evident in all of The Scarlet Letter s main characters: Hester, Dimmesdale,
Chillingworth, the town of Boston, and Pearl.
One of the main characters in the novel, Hester, shows the pervasiveness of hypocrisy with her own

Hawthorne uses Hester s hypocrisy to show us that hypocrisy can be hidden even in those who it is
unexpected in, and in doing so he suggests that hypocrisy may be more pervasive than we think and
can see. .
In addition to Hester, Hawthorne uses Dimmesdale, another of his main characters in to represent an
aspect of hypocrisy. Specifically, Dimmesdale represents the difficulty of shaking off hypocrisy, and
brings the conclusion that hypocrisy lingers because it is so difficult to fix. Dimmesdale s hypocrisy
arises from his position as a minister even after his adulterous act. Dimmesdale even admits to feeling
morally unclean and question what his polluted soul [can do] towards their purification, (131). In spite
of his feelings, Dimmesdale cannot force himself to confess his sins and come clean to the town. The
fact that Dimmesdale cannot act against what he believes to be instinctively wrong, sinful, and
potentially harmful to others shows us that hypocrisy difficult to change. Dimmesdale s inability to
face the consequences and change his hypocritical stance shows us that hypocrisy can be a nearly
permanent fixture. It also raises a key question: how can hypocrisy not be pervasive if we can t shake
it off easily? The simple answer is that hypocrisy must be pervasive because it lingers and can t be
removed. This implies anyone who has been hypocritical, which is about everyone, is still

DIFFERENCE IN COMPETENCIES BETWEEN ADN AND BSN A nurse is a healthcare
professional who is trained care for sick. The key roles in nursing are promotion of health and
prevention of illness, and also education, research, advocacy, health system management and
promotion of safe environment. There are two different categories of nurses based on educational
level. One is an Associate Degree Nurse (ADN), a 2 year program and other a Baccalaureate Degree

areas such as Intensive Care Units, Emergency Care Units. Assessment, diagnosis, planning,
implementation and evaluation are best done by a BSN than an ADN because of the power of critical
thinking. The skills of critical thinking, better problem solving, and development of clinical judgment
are important for increase patient acuity. Since BSN is better in critical thinking and evidence based
practice, they lower mortality rate significantly. (Aiken, 2003) Effective Communication BSN has
more communication skill than ADN. Four years of study makes them good communicators. Good
communication is a key part of nursing. An effective communication helps to build a therapeutic
relationship. Studies have also found that nurses prepared at the baccalaureate level have stronger
communication and problem solving skills (Johnson, 1988) and a higher proficiency in their ability to
make nursing diagnoses and evaluate nursing interventions (Giger Davidhizar, 1990). Quality of Care
BSN can provide quality care because of better critical thinking, problem solving and communication
skills. They also take leadership in giving quality care. Thus they lower mortality rate. Nurse staffing
and educational preparation of registered nurses were significantly associated with patient outcomes.

Analysis Of The Death Of Venice By Thomas Mann
Tadzio as an Illuminator
In Thomas Mann s Death In Venice, Tadzio is likened to the sun and thus represents an illuminating
force for knowing what is truly good and just and by consequence represents a higher truth. This quest
for knowledge on what is good becomes apparent as Aschenbach becomes more and more infatuated
with Tadzio, not in a romantic sense, but rather a sense of seeking what he believes is right, a platonic
relationship which ultimately sparks Aschenbach s demise. Aschenbach s motives are somewhat
muddled as he enters the second half of his life and seeks to find what is true. To do this he decides to
take a vacation to Venice where he meets Tadzio. After being a rather stoic and cold person, this all
melts away as he basks in Tadzio s presence as one would in the sun. Tadzio as a representation for
light is why Aschenbach is so drawn to him, because he believes that the child could be the
illuminating figure for him. While Tadzio himself is not the higher truth personified, he does act as the
ray of light for seeing what Aschenbach s wants in his life, what he sought after since the beginning of
the story. Examples of this relationship and its representations include how Tadzio is likened to Helios
who is the sun giant in Greek mythology, the imagery associated with sun and Tadzio, such as Tadzio
rising from the sea and how ever present he is in the environment around Aschenbach, how Tadzio is
described as Aschenbach s Mirror and image suggesting that

Malcom X Family Service Essay
The differences between the New Deal reformers and the child welfare workers who provided services
to Malcom X s family was that the child welfare workers were not providing adequate and equal

some kind of service, to the eyesight of these people Malcom x s stated that they were just like things .
The social welfare system did not treated them with respect. The state welfare people were after the

of the fact that it regularly stays unrecognized in customary practice, research studies have

Lsi Life Styles Inventory Paper
GM 591 Yvonne Hobbs
LSI Paper
The life styles inventory is a survey of questions that help us to gain an insight into our own
personality and what type of behaviors we exert to others as individuals. It helps us to look at the
positive and negative qualities of our personalities and ways to improve upon them. A look at my LSI
styles complex radiates that my primary thinking style is linked to the avoidance category. The
avoidance scale states that I tend to use the strategy of withdrawal by hiding my feelings and being
shy to express myself. It also states that as things become more threatening to me the more I tend to
avoid those situations. These thinking styles are linked to feelings of denying responsibility for my

There are times where I feel the need to dominate and lead the way such as when working with my
dad in his apartment management company. I observe him overruling his tenants and exerting his
power to put people in their place and follow the complex rules and regulations, and have somehow
manifested those qualities into myself, like in example, if I am at work and he is not there then I do
find myself to be quite dominating and exerting my power to get tenants to do what there suppose to
do or pay their rent. I also find myself being dominating to people I know are weaker than me or just
shy and not outspoken about their feelings. The other style that I was tied with is the conventional
scale which measures my tendency to act in a conforming way. These tendencies are characterized by
perceiving rules as a source of comfort and security. There is also a preference for staying unseen and
unnoticed and a tendency to cover up my mistakes. There is also preoccupation with appearing to be
average and just like everyone else. Additionally there is a reduction in originality which is very true
for my behavior. These characteristics are also a bit contrary to my power and authoritarian style but
somehow I find myself being shy as well as authoritarian in certain situations. I would have to say
however that the conventional characteristic is one that I might have to disagree with because

Barrio Boy Short Story
Barrio Boy, New Directions, and Ready For Marcos What drives people to undertake missions? For
example, Ernesto wanted to learn english, go to school, and not give up so Ernesto came to America to
go to school, learn english, and not give up. Annie Johnson did not give up and Annie made her own
business and without this business Annie would not have money and would not be able to handle her
childrens. Monica had more responsibilities to do because Monica wanted a little brother. Individuals
are driven to undertake missions because for example one of the motivation of the first story was to
learn english and go to school and be successful, another motivation was to make money to support a
family, and the last motivation was that someone wanted a little brother. The first story I chose out of
all the three stories that I chose was Barrio Boy by Ernesto Galarza. This story relates to my thesis
statement because Ernesto wanted to learn english and go to school so he came to America from
Mexico with his mother. The first thing that Ernesto did to success was that he emigrated to America

What Are Franklin Roosevelt s Three Programs
I think the top three programs that Franklin Roosevelt created as a part of the New Deal are the FDIC,
the WPA, and the NYA because keeping people s money safe and creating and appointing jobs is an
efficient way to keep your country safe from failure.
After the stock market crashed in 1929, Americans began to scramble to the banks to withdraw their
money. As a result, thousands of financial institutions failed. This became known as the Great
Depression. In 1933, President Roosevelt created the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, which
would insure deposits to a certain limit with money pooled by other banks. This not only meant that
people s money was safe, but it boosted the confidence of the citizens. Taking action against the bank

The Ethics in Biomedical Research

of cancer without knowing that her cancer cells were immortal and very useful for medical research.
Her family lived a poverty life without health care, when her cell was commercialized all around the
world. That condition was related to biomedical research s ethics and how consent form should be
used properly. Henrietta Lacks was born in Roanoke, Virginia, on August 1, 1920 (Skloot 40). Her

The worst thing was her kidney could not filter toxins in her body; it made her poisoned her own

HeLa has been used in medical research after Henrietta s death. However, Henrietta s family did not

Adolf Hitler And The Nazi Party
In 1933, Adolf Hitler was legally named chancellor of Germany by President Paul von Hindenburg. In
the following years, Hitler would take power as Führer and the Nazi party would create laws that
pretty much allowed them to kill eleven million people. While the anti semitic laws and the laws
against undesirables were horrible, they were still laws. The truth of the matter was that Hitler
belonged to the Nazi party and it was a legitimate political party with a substantial following; and their
laws were enacted legally. In this essay, I will explain how both Hart s and Fuller s theories play into
why I believe that the Nazis had laws. It begins with Hart s idea of a sovereign body enacting
legitimate laws and the complexity of the people following despite the immorality of the laws and
ends with the laws becoming nullified as they lose respect. I will also address the idea that the Nazi s
power didn t have legitimate laws because they went against laws that came before them. Hart, often
credited as being the father of modern legal positivism , built his ideas off the legal positivists who
came before him: Jeremy Bentham and John Austin. Hart took their ideas and softened their especially
Austin s harder, more cynical view that laws were purely followed because of a the threat coming
from a reigning power. Hart argued that laws were more complex than that. He believed that the
incentives, negative or positive, put forth by the ruling power was only part of the

Relationship Between Communication And Errors
Solution Description The relationship between communication and errors has been well established in
the healthcare setting, affecting patient safety and placing the organization in a position of risk
(Friesen, Hughes and Zorn, 2007; Wasserman, 2014, Sears et al, 2013). Errors still occur, however,
and there is a focus on how healthcare can learn from the behaviors of high reliability industries
(Verschoor et al, 2007). One such behavior is that of a Safety Briefing (DSB), through which an
organization empowers every employee to be able to report issues that have an effect, or potential
effect on safety processes (Kelly, 2013; Rice, 2013; Steelman, 2014). The members of the DSB then
have the responsibility for identification of poor processes, system failures and remediation of issues.
Safety issues arise in this organization on a daily basis and are reported through an interdisciplinary
online tool. Each occurrence report is written by a staff member and routed to the department
supervisor. This supervisor forwards the report to any other relevant departments for their review. So,
for example, if a patient is admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) from the operating room (OR)
with a pressure ulcer, the event is written up by the ICU staff and routed to the ICU supervisor, who
then forwards to the ICU manager, the OR manager, the surgeon and the anesthesiologist. Each staffed
area has an identified responsible person to follow up on any issue that may affect the patients

spicing it up. This famous company wishes to tempt all consumers into wanting a ketchup that not

In order to sell the product, they adopt a humorous tone to make the consumer remember the product,

public of the company s credibility, then humoring them, and finally using simple logic to prove that
their ketchup is spicy. The famous company does need to try to hard to establish their credibility. They

Than Aung is fairly new to this job; he assumed office 1 August 2014. Than Aung is preceded by Pe Thet Khin who was the minister from March 2011 July 2014. Before Aung became minister, he was the Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Health in Burma. He was also a member of the Naypidaw Council and was the Director of the Myanmar Army Medical Corps. Topic 1: The Platform of Aung San Suu Kyi Aung San Suu Kyi states, If suffering were an unavoidable part of our existence, we should try to alleviate it as far as possible in practical, earthly ways. Although Burma is striving for universal healthcare, the amount of money allotted is not enough for people to get the proper care that they need. As of 2014, Burma allotted approximately $USD18 per capita while the regional average of south east Asia was approximately $USD70 per capita. Burma needs to budget more money for healthcare. The mortality rate of children under the age of five in Burma is 9.3% higher than the global average, and children are not the only place where issues arise. Almost 1 in 4 Burmese citizens between 30 70 die from a noncommunicable disease (NCD) of either a cancer, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 9. Abigail Adams Critique Jordan Maki Prof. Meier History 6 October 20, 2017 Abigail Adams Book Critique In the novel, Abigail Adams: A Revolutionary American Woman, Charles Akers portrays the life of a strong, revolutionary woman named Abigail Adams. She was known as the first lady of the United States under John Adams and she played an indirect role in influencing the American Revolution. She is called one of the founders of the country for her revolutionary thinking and her being a rights activist. Abigail Adams faced many hardships throughout her life. She was the daughter of a minister and had two sisters and a brother. In the 1700 s, children did not have a high survival rate due to the amount of diseases and nothing to treat them with. Abigail Adams said in her old age that she was always sick (Akers 5). This reminds people how tough life was in the 1700 s and how easy it was to pass away from a mere cold. Abigail also did not have any education growing up. Women, in the colonial era, were not supposed to have an education and were supposed to watch the kids, cook, and clean. Readers of this book learn that many women back then were illiterate and were self taught, if they had any education. Abigail did find a love for literature due to her sister s spouse, Richard Cranch. He influenced her love for literature at a young age and she started to become more literate. Along with the disease and educational deficiency, women were considered as property. A young woman could either give up ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. Plato s View On Morality And Justice Plato s Republic proposes a number of intriguing theories, ranging from his contemporary view of ethics to political idealism. It is because of Plato s emerging interpretations that philosophers still refer to Plato s definitions of moral philosophy as a standard. Plato s possibly most argued concept could be said to be the analogy between city and soul in Book IV, partially due to his expansive analysis of justice and the role justice plays in an ideal city, which has some key flaws. Despite these flawed assumptions that my essay will point out, Plato s exposition on ethics is still relevant for scholars and academics to study, due to his interpretive view on morality and justice. 1. Socrates attempts to formulate a definition of the word, moderation, to investigate how the virtue of moderation comes into play with the human soul. Socrate s elucidates how moderation is often perceived as the mastery of certain kinds of pleasures and desires, and explore how the controller of the weak and strong are both the same person. Consequently Socrates ridicules the word, self control. Just as Thrasymachus argues in Book I that justice is, the advantage of the stronger, and whether the people who are actually ruling are those best suited to rule, Plato s argument also seems to revolve around this concept, as the reader questions whether there is a part of the soul which is naturally suited to rule. To further consider this notion, Socrates discusses how a master of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 11. Thomas Jefferson A Hypocrite Analysis The Declaration of Independence states how we as the Thirteen Colonies declared independence from Great Britain. One of the major arguments made by Thomas Jefferson that supported the colonies right of independence was how, All men are created equal . However, some question Jefferson s choice to put forth that statement, and find him a hypocrite, since he himself was a slave owner. On the contrary, Jefferson should not be seen as a hypocrite, because we can not judge Jefferson from a modern perspective, as well as Jefferson supported blacks, thus he included a passage regarding slavery in his draft of the Declaration of Independence, which was later deleted by congress. One reason why Thomas Jefferson should not be seen as a hypocrite is because we can not pass judgment on Jefferson from a present day point of view. One example from Thomas Jefferson and the Character Issue by Douglas L. Wilson that highlights this is, the question of why Jefferson didn t free his slaves only serves to illustrate how presentism involves us in mistaken assumptions about historical conditions (Wilson pg 6). Walls are physical fortifications that create tension and distain among people on both sides. This is what the Berlin Wall, or der Mauer in German, was; a physical barrier created in Berlin, Germany during the Cold War. It was created by the East Germans in an attempt to stop East German citizens from immigrating to Western Germany. The wall was the tall divider of people; of families and friends, as it was created to keep people from leaving. After its construction, The Wall separated the two sides, but also created more issues than it solved. For instance, between 1961 and 1989, the East German guards shoot to kill order against refugees resulted in about 250 300 deaths ( Berlin Wall ). Those killed were most likely the artisans who desired to leave in the first place, or the people who were separated from their families in the initial construction of the Wall. Seeing as it also stretched through the center of the city, anyone caught on the wrong side was trapped there. They were stuck, forced to spend their days separated. If they attempted to leave, they could become part of the 200 people who were shot dead while attempting to scale the wall (Raichelle). • 15. The Role Of Violence In The White Tiger By Aravind Adiga It cannot fairly be said that in Aravind Adiga s novel, The White Tiger, the only way to escape the Darkness and advance in society is through violence, as an alternative route to the Light is presented in the story arc of Vijay, the pig herder s son turned politician. Balram asserts that the murder of Ashok is not only the direct cause of his new wealth and status, but also the only possible trigger for his newfound social mobility. Yet, this is contradicted earlier in the story when he presents Vijay, the bus driver, as his role model for a successful person. Vijay, in order to achieve his elevated position, resorted to prostitution; despite not being a desirable alternative to violence, it is an alternative all the same and therefore violence is not the only way to escape the Darkness. Following this logic, it is Balram s story and the immediate increase in wealth that results from the murder of Ashok that best supports violence as the only means of moving into the Light, and Vijay s story is the best evidence against that point of view. Although Balram argues that violence is his only way of overcoming the poverty he is born into, Vijay, a man born into status even lower than Balram s, achieves power and wealth without resorting to violence. Initially Balram presents Vijay as his role model, condoning the rumors of his prostitution in order to advance socially. Just like other myths that we have read, the myths Demeter and The Herdsman and the Weaver contain many similar characters, plot, and possibly setting. Both myths have a similar character and a plot; a king and two people who care deeply for each other but are seperated. In the first myth Demeter, Hades (the king of the underworld) stole Persephone (the daughter of Demeter) away from her mother (Demeter), who was the goddess of grains and fruit. Hades took Persephone to the underworld because he wanted her as his bride and thought she would brighten up his life. Demeter became very depressed and along with her happiness, the world started to die. Similar to the first myth, in The Herdsman and the Weaver there was also a king. My Papa Knultz Analysis Battered Knuckles While the subject of My Papa s Waltz by Theodore Roethke has spurred passionate academic debate from professors, scholars, and students alike, the imagery, syntax, and diction of the poem clearly supports the interpretation that Roethke writes My Papa s Waltz to reflect back to his sentimental memories with his father. In brief, Roethke leaves the audience with an unclear understanding of what the meaning of the poem is. In discussions of My Papa s Waltz, one controversial issue is the father casually plays with the son. On the other hand, some readers argue that the father is abusing his son straightforwardly. However, after contemplating the context of the poem and gathering information from the text, it has become undeniably clear that the poem is about the father abusing his son. Ultimately, Roethke writes My Papa s Waltz to illustrate a picture of his nostalgic remembrance for the readers. The authors controversial poem becomes clear when one carefully examines the context of the poem. In stanza one, line one, Roethke describes the papa in the poem as having whiskey on [his] breath. Non believers believe we do not endure suffering simply because in their reality, God is personified as a genie; Christians can simply pray for what they desire in life; examples including money, power, wealth, and the Lord will grant those desires immediately. However, Christians know suffering is inevitable. From a theological standpoint, suffering is defined as: the experience of physical pain and mental distress. • 28. Analysis Of The Death Of Venice By Thomas Mann Tadzio as an Illuminator In Thomas Mann s Death In Venice, Tadzio is likened to the sun and thus represents an illuminating force for knowing what is truly good and just and by consequence represents a higher truth. This quest for knowledge on what is good becomes apparent as Aschenbach becomes more and more infatuated with Tadzio, not in a romantic sense, but rather a sense of seeking what he believes is right, a platonic relationship which ultimately sparks Aschenbach s demise. Aschenbach s motives are somewhat muddled as he enters the second half of his life and seeks to find what is true. To do this he decides to take a vacation to Venice where he meets Tadzio. After being a rather stoic and cold person, this all melts away as he basks in Tadzio s presence as one would in the sun. Tadzio as a representation for light is why Aschenbach is so drawn to him, because he believes that the child could be the illuminating figure for him. While Tadzio himself is not the higher truth personified, he does act as the ray of light for seeing what Aschenbach s wants in his life, what he sought after since the beginning of the story. Examples of this relationship and its representations include how Tadzio is likened to Helios who is the sun giant in Greek mythology, the imagery associated with sun and Tadzio, such as Tadzio rising from the sea and how ever present he is in the environment around Aschenbach, how Tadzio is described as Aschenbach s Mirror and image suggesting that ... • 32. Lsi Life Styles Inventory Paper GM 591 Yvonne Hobbs LSI Paper The life styles inventory is a survey of questions that help us to gain an insight into our own personality and what type of behaviors we exert to others as individuals. It helps us to look at the positive and negative qualities of our personalities and ways to improve upon them. A look at my LSI styles complex radiates that my primary thinking style is linked to the avoidance category. The avoidance scale states that I tend to use the strategy of withdrawal by hiding my feelings and being shy to express myself. It also states that as things become more threatening to me the more I tend to avoid those situations. These thinking styles are linked to feelings of denying responsibility for my own ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There are times where I feel the need to dominate and lead the way such as when working with my dad in his apartment management company. I observe him overruling his tenants and exerting his power to put people in their place and follow the complex rules and regulations, and have somehow manifested those qualities into myself, like in example, if I am at work and he is not there then I do find myself to be quite dominating and exerting my power to get tenants to do what there suppose to do or pay their rent. I also find myself being dominating to people I know are weaker than me or just shy and not outspoken about their feelings. The other style that I was tied with is the conventional scale which measures my tendency to act in a conforming way. These tendencies are characterized by perceiving rules as a source of comfort and security. There is also a preference for staying unseen and unnoticed and a tendency to cover up my mistakes. There is also preoccupation with appearing to be average and just like everyone else. Additionally there is a reduction in originality which is very true for my behavior. These characteristics are also a bit contrary to my power and authoritarian style but somehow I find myself being shy as well as authoritarian in certain situations. I would have to say however that the conventional characteristic is one that I might have to disagree with because ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 33. Barrio Boy Short Story Barrio Boy, New Directions, and Ready For Marcos What drives people to undertake missions? For example, Ernesto wanted to learn english, go to school, and not give up so Ernesto came to America to go to school, learn english, and not give up. Annie Johnson did not give up and Annie made her own business and without this business Annie would not have money and would not be able to handle her childrens. Monica had more responsibilities to do because Monica wanted a little brother. Individuals are driven to undertake missions because for example one of the motivation of the first story was to learn english and go to school and be successful, another motivation was to make money to support a family, and the last motivation was that someone wanted a little brother. The first story I chose out of all the three stories that I chose was Barrio Boy by Ernesto Galarza. This story relates to my thesis statement because Ernesto wanted to learn english and go to school so he came to America from Mexico with his mother. The first thing that Ernesto did to success was that he emigrated to America from Mexico with his mother. Then, he went to school in America because he wanted to learn english. • 34. What Are Franklin Roosevelt s Three Programs I think the top three programs that Franklin Roosevelt created as a part of the New Deal are the FDIC, the WPA, and the NYA because keeping people s money safe and creating and appointing jobs is an efficient way to keep your country safe from failure. After the stock market crashed in 1929, Americans began to scramble to the banks to withdraw their money. As a result, thousands of financial institutions failed. This became known as the Great Depression. In 1933, President Roosevelt created the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, which would insure deposits to a certain limit with money pooled by other banks. This not only meant that people s money was safe, but it boosted the confidence of the citizens. Taking action against the bank failures ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 36. Adolf Hitler And The Nazi Party In 1933, Adolf Hitler was legally named chancellor of Germany by President Paul von Hindenburg. In the following years, Hitler would take power as Führer and the Nazi party would create laws that pretty much allowed them to kill eleven million people. While the anti semitic laws and the laws against undesirables were horrible, they were still laws. The truth of the matter was that Hitler belonged to the Nazi party and it was a legitimate political party with a substantial following; and their laws were enacted legally. In this essay, I will explain how both Hart s and Fuller s theories play into why I believe that the Nazis had laws. It begins with Hart s idea of a sovereign body enacting legitimate laws and the complexity of the people following despite the immorality of the laws and ends with the laws becoming nullified as they lose respect. I will also address the idea that the Nazi s power didn t have legitimate laws because they went against laws that came before them. Hart, often credited as being the father of modern legal positivism , built his ideas off the legal positivists who came before him: Jeremy Bentham and John Austin. Hart took their ideas and softened their especially Austin s harder, more cynical view that laws were purely followed because of a the threat coming from a reigning power. Hart argued that laws were more complex than that. He believed that the incentives, negative or positive, put forth by the ruling power was only part of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 37. Relationship Between Communication And Errors Solution Description The relationship between communication and errors has been well established in the healthcare setting, affecting patient safety and placing the organization in a position of risk (Friesen, Hughes and Zorn, 2007; Wasserman, 2014, Sears et al, 2013). Errors still occur, however, and there is a focus on how healthcare can learn from the behaviors of high reliability industries (Verschoor et al, 2007). One such behavior is that of a Safety Briefing (DSB), through which an organization empowers every employee to be able to report issues that have an effect, or potential effect on safety processes (Kelly, 2013; Rice, 2013; Steelman, 2014). The members of the DSB then have the responsibility for identification of poor processes, system failures and remediation of issues. Safety issues arise in this organization on a daily basis and are reported through an interdisciplinary online tool. Each occurrence report is written by a staff member and routed to the department supervisor. This supervisor forwards the report to any other relevant departments for their review. So, for example, if a patient is admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) from the operating room (OR) with a pressure ulcer, the event is written up by the ICU staff and routed to the ICU supervisor, who then forwards to the ICU manager, the OR manager, the surgeon and the anesthesiologist.
