Symbolism In The Lamb And The Tyger By William Blake
William Blake is an English poet and printmaker, specially renowned for his poems published in a
series titled Songs of Innocence and Experience. Blake s poems firmly explore the comparisons and
differences in both old age and infancy, expressing the importance of human growth by alluding to the
correlation between human life and the renaissance of nature. In addition, Blake creates a contrast
with this joyful concept by conveying the negative aspects of wisdom and moreover, experience.
Furthermore, the Romantic Age is represented through many concepts presented in Blake s poems:
when commenting on the individual versus society, the Industrial Revolution and its harmful effects
on nature, and religious affiliation. Moreover, his strong views on religion are supported and further
enhanced when referencing other texts, most significantly the Bible. The reference of the Bible in
Blake s The Lamb and The Tyger through the use of symbolism, ... Show more content on

Furthermore, an outstanding technique employed by Blake is present in both The Lamb and The Tyger
establishing a curious tone: the posing of questions. Initially, The Lamb , published in Songs of
Innocence, composes of two stanzas sung by a young child; the first stanza consists of questions and
the second stanza aims to answer those very questions. Moreover the first stanza begins with a meek
and naïve question, Little Lamb who made thee, (line 1). The simplicity of the question further
suggests the innocence of the child, however, the register of the biblical language (thee) is a clear
example of a reference to the Bible. In addition, this reference is questioning the nature and the origins
of the Little Lamb and is later answered, introducing a new character, For he calls himself a Lamb...
(line 13). Here Blake mentions Jesus Christ, and is presented as the Shepherd of the lambs, who

Hidden Figures Dorothy Byron Analysis
Dorothy Vaughn Dorothy Vaughn is known as NASA s first African American supervisor and
previously worked as a math teacher. Dorothy Vaughan unofficially supervised West Computing to
analyze data for aerospace engineers before being promoted as supervisor. Eventually, the West
Computing Wing would be abolished and replaced by higher technology from IBM to calculate
equations at a much faster rate. Thus, forced Vaughn to take the helm and find a new way to provide
jobs for the computers or women of color who computed data calculations for NASA. From analyzing
Hidden Figures, the movie recognizes the prejudice that black women of that time have experienced in
and out of the work place. Vaughn plays a very valuable role in Hidden Figures as a motherly figure to
not only her children but to black women whom she worked with. ... Show more content on

motherly tone. Later in the movie after Vaughn and her sons were kicked out of the library for being
black a police officer escorts them out of the building and she pointedly states at scene 50:12 Get your

Discussion of the Article The Influence of Economists on...
Discussing the Federal Reserve After reading the article, The Influence of Economists on the Federal
Reserve Act, it is apparent the author is trying to suggest that the economists played a major role in the
banking reform which led to the development of the Federal Reserve Act. During the late 1800 s and
early 1900 s, issues regarding the framework for which the bank operates on was inconsistent and did
not perform as projected in foreseeable emergency situations. For this reason, economists developed
strategies and offered a plan that would deter the U.S. from the current sub tier banking system
currently in place into a more reliable centralized banking system. The author gives evidence to this
by including an array of economists ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With copious amounts of supporting details, the author s point of view may be one that focuses on
economists in relation to the Federal Reserve Act and less on political agendas. The economists were
the ones responsible for providing research and acknowledging different solutions to the crisis of
1907. The author depicts economists in the article as direct advisors and policy makers which gives
the reader a better understanding of their roles in which they were perceived by the Senate and
Congress (Caporal, 2003). These were individuals that strived for excellence and would go to great
means to make an impact in the economy that would alter the banking system forever. Whether a
reader agrees or disagrees with how the centralized banking system was created, the foundation for
which it was built off of has continued to grow over a century with key fundamentals still in place
today. The author s implications demonstrate that an economists, the intellectuals, were responsible for
the banking reform that led to a structured banking system. Could this all have been possible without
the influence of the economists? In my opinion, the author has provided enough evidence that would
allow the reader to properly analyze and have confidence in the integrity of the article. The conclusion
of the article signifies the influence the economist s had on the Federal Reserve Act and the

Disadvantages Of Subsidies
Question 1
a) Advantages of Subsidies
Reduces cost of production (Anon: 2014).
Recourses are released to be used for other resources, for example, expansion (increase in supply)
(Anon: 2014).
The firms competitive edge in terms of prices increases. Subsidies enables firms to cover their costs
without making their products unaffordable (Anon: 2014).
Disadvantages of subsidies
It is expensive and will require higher taxes (Xayaan: 2013).
The extent of the positive externality is difficult to estimate (Xayaan: 2013).
Giving subsidies to firms may encourage inefficiency, because the firms might rely on government
aid. The government may also have poor information about the service and how much it has to
subsidise (Xayaan: 2013).
Subsidies distort market prices for e.g. export subsidies distort the trade in goods and services and can

Tariffs imposed on foreign goods and services may harm domestic manufacturers in the long run
because it often benefit one sector at the expense of the other (Buchanan, R: 2013).
Import tariffs might reduce customer s choice in a sense that, when tariffs are placed on imported
goods, the increased prices and reduced trade prohibit individuals from all choices that could be
available in the market (Morelock, J: 2014).
c) Advantages of Globalisation
Globalisation increases Free Trade, the increase in capital liquidity allows investors in well developed
nations to invest in developing countries. Big corporations from developed countries have great
flexibility to operate in other countries (Anon: 2014).
Globalisation reduces war between well developed countries (Anon: 2014).
Helps building stronger trade ties and dependencies between countries (Anon: 2010).
Adds contribution to the spread of technology (Anon: 2010).

New York City s Rikers Island has been called on of the worst prisons in the country. Throughout its
history, it has been filled with multiple human rights issues that deal with abuse, sexual assaults, lack
of officer involvement and control, and general human right violations. The prison was opened in

The 7 Habits Of Highly Effective Teens
The purpose of Covey s The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens is to better mold a teen s mind frame.
Most teen s lives are crazy and have no order. These seven habits help teens get control over their
lives. The first part is the private victory, followed by the public victory, and finally the renewal. If all
of these habits are applied, they will help all teens to be more successful and get more out of life.
Habit 1 is all about being proactive, and taking charge of yourself. You can t keep blaming everything
else but yourself. You are in control of your attitude towards everything that happens. In life s
situations you have the choice of either being proactive or reactive. Being reactive is allowing other
people and things control you. Instead of reacting to small stuff that have little or no control, proactive
people focus on things they can control. They separate their experiences from the circumstances. You
are the force of positive actions, and changing actions that aren t helpful is the best way to take
responsibility of your life. In addition, Habit 2 is about beginning with the end in mind. This is where
you create your own personal mission statement. Mission statements help you focus, clarify what is
important, and are a guide for decision making. It can be about yourself, family, or about organization.
Your future is dependent on control, guidance, and rules. A solid foundation of your own principles
will help you be a leader. Furthermore, Habit 3 is about

Concealed Carry Weapons (Ccw) Course, Is A Course Taken
Concealed Carry Weapons (CCW) course, is a course taken on gun safety and the correct way to fire a
gun. This course allows someone to be able to carry a gun with it being concealed (hidden). The
Second Amendment of the U.S. Constitution gives every American citizen the right to keep and bear
arms. American citizens have the right to keep and bear arms, in contrast, to have the weapon
concealed the CCW course is a requirement. This class intends to ensure safety of weapons, however,
not every gun owner is required to take this course. Including family members are not required to take
this course and a lot of the general public are uneducated about gun safety, increasing the statistics of

Anywhere there is a firearm there is the increased risk of gun related crimes to occur. This article
focuses on if someone enters a public business with the intent of robbing or causing harm and a
customer or worker has the right to keep and bear arms they also have the right to protect. Steven
Lippmann focuses on the negative effects of people being allowed to own firearms and keep them in
the home. In this article, he explains how even though people say they have the right to keep and bear
arms, they have a negative effect on the society and having a firearm in the home increases suicide,
homicide, domestic violence, and accidents.
All three articles acknowledge the right to keep and bear arms as a right of US citizens. Scholar one
differs from the other two articles because its total focus is on the right and what it states in the U.S.
Constitution. Scholar two differs from the other two articles because it focuses on how the right to
keep firearms in businesses can be a great use of protection if someone was to enter with the intention
of committing a crime. Article three differs from the other two because its focus is on the negative
effects of being able to keep firearms brings to a society. None of these three articles discuss a fix to
the issues of the Second Amendment other than for firearms to become illegal. This research is
missing how accidental injury and death from the use of guns can

Why Different Communication Methods Are Used In The...
1.1) Explain why different communication methods are used in the business environment.
There are loads of ways to communicate in the business world, without communication in a business
there could be many problems which could eventually lead to the business being unsuccessful and
closing down. Some examples of communicating in the business are: face to face, phone calls, writing
(sending a letter), emails and even conference calls. These different ways of communicating in a
business are used where it suits the situation, time and purpose. one of the main ways to communicate
in a business is by telephone, this is important for many reasons whether your communicating
externally or internally in the business. Telephones in a business are used by all employees it ranges
from the receptionist all the way to the director of the business. An example of using the telephone
internally in a business environment is where a receptionist calls up her superiors to inform them that
a client has arrived or to remind them of any meetings. An example of using the telephone externally
in a business environment where a company calls up their suppliers either to place an order or to track
and order. Example of a telephone call in an estate agency
A homeowner is calling up an estate agency because he/she wants to sell or put the property on rent so
they enquire about the market rate for their property and or management costs for them giving the
property to put on rent, the worker at the estate

The Fuel Of Diesel Vehicles
Today, we live in a world that s vastly interconnected. Something that happens across seas can affect a
whole nation, several nations, or even all of them. Recently Volkswagen was put in the hot seat when
they were caught imputing software into their diesel vehicles, that makes it show a different emissions
output than was accepted by the EPA. They called this device the, defeat device. Thusly all of their
vehicles that were diesel were marketed as low emissions which turned out to be a lie. The article on
bbc.com states, The engines emitted nitrogen oxide pollutants up to 40 times above what is allowed in
the US. This is a huge blow to the company as far as public opinion goes. They lost the trust of
millions of people around the world. They have been producing allegedly clean diesel emissions for a
long time now and even included that in their advertisements. Because of this scandal they were
forced to recall millions of diesel vehicles with this device causing them to lose over $2.5 billion.
Their first quarterly loss in the past 15 years. This sounds like a lot of money but the EPA is still
considering fining Volkswagen for each car they produced and lied about. The amount they are
considering charging them is roughly $37,500 for each car which leads to a maximum fine of $18
billion. That s more than the value of most of the cars, which really shows how seriously they are
taking this. Even for a giant like VW that is a massive blow financially. From now on every

Human beings are not born with a set of behaviour, they have to learn it. What they learn is dictated
by the culture into which they are born or within which they grow up J Bareham (1995)
Culture makes us similar to some people but different to the vast majority. It is learnt as a person

There are many similarities but yet many differences across all cultures and religions, for example
both Jews and Muslims must not eat Pork or consume Blood, but in contrast a Muslim may eat shell
fish whereas a Jew cannot. Another contrast can be seen in the Hindu religion where orthodox
followers are forbidden to consume any meat at all.
Having well considered the origin of flesh foods, and the cruelty of fettering and slaying corporeal
beings, let man entirely abstain from eating flesh. The Manusmrti (5.49)
In the Hindu religion a strict Caste system is followed and dictates who a person can eat with, who
prepares a persons food, what sort of food is prepared for someone and who food can be accepted
from. However for Hindu followers living in a western society it is not always possible to adhere to.
For example pre packed food or food from a canteen/restaurant would not be able to be purchased as it
might have been prepared by someone of a lower caste. This is a good example of religion has to
adapt to allow for the culture one lives in relation to food intake.
In China the staple diet remained relatively unchanged until as

The Connection between Sentence Comprehension and Motor...
There is contemporary evidence that some language tasks that require an individual to comprehend
action words (e.g. walk) and nouns of manipulable objects (e.g.. mug) activate regions on the motor
cortex. This event is recognized as motor resonance. However, this phenomenon challenges present
theoretical explanation of word comprehension. There are two dominant perceptions which are
followed in cognitive psychology. The first account is that individuals understand words such as chew
from previous practice; therefore, for one to comprehend a word they must consider the prior actions
and experiences that are connected with that word. The second explanation is an alternative where the
word evokes an action. The actions become an automatic byproduct after an individuals resolves the
connotation of the word. A recent study conducted by Masson, Bub, and Lavelle at the University of
Victoria, examines the degree to which context controls the action representations elicited by a word.
The goal of the research question was to gain a deeper understanding of the connection between motor
resonance and sentence comprehension. This was analyzed through action representations that are
dependent on grasping an manipulable object such as cellphone, wine glass, pencil, hairspray, etc. The
two action representations were volumetric (V) actions and functional (F) actions. Volumetric actions
function to lift or a move an object, whereas, functional actions implement the expected function

Essay about Seal Hunting in Atlantic Canada
The annual hunt of harp seals (Pagophilus groenlandicus) in Atlantic Canada is contested at the start

Within all of the dialogue and debate, there can be a lot of bias and misrepresentation of facts

Contemporary dishes like seal flipper pie have also contributed to the cultural identity of
Newfoundland society. As a result of these strong cultural ties, commercial and subsistence sealing
continues to exist through legal policy by demand from both government and society. The policies that
govern seal hunting are based on a sustained yield principle that does not compromise the harvest for
future generations, and are thus in accordance with sustainable aspects of resource development.
Economic benefits gained from the seal hunt include an increase in trading relationships for Canada
and the stimulation of the provincial economy of Newfoundland and Labrador. As reported by the
Department of Fisheries and Oceans, the total landed value of the seal harvest for 2006 was $34.3
million dollars ( Market 1). This figure represents a historic high, when market prices per pelt were
favourable. Regardless, the money brought in from seal hunting is said to have a trickle down effect
on other sectors of the economy ( Market 1). Canada has historically been the leading exporter of seal
products in the global marketplace, and had exported over $70 million in product between 2005 and
2011 ( Market 1) Nationally, the seal hunt has enabled Canada to forge new trading relationships in
the international community, as evidenced by a 2011 deal between Canada and China. The

How Does Love Effect Biological Drugs
Many people state love is a drug. It has been proven that stages in love effect biological components.
An example of this is would include stages like falling in love with a surge of dopamine, or cuddling
concludes in serotonin levels being high. Cocaine blocks the reuptake of serotonin, dopamine, and
norepinephrine increasing their consecration in the synapses which amplifies the chemical reactions.
In MRI studies, it has been seen that the same pathways are being lit for love and cocaine use. Both
love and cocaine effect the reward pathway. Although both reach all areas of the brain the euphoric
effects are mediated to a few specific areas such as the prefrontal cortex, nucleus accumbens, and the

In about c.580 BCE the Kouros (Youth) was created. This is a sculpture of a Greek God standing in
the frontal position with one foot pointed forward and the hips still straight. This shows a godly
position because realistically humans cannot stand like this. This is very important because for the
Greeks to mimic the Ancient Egyptian sculpting styles you can see that they are trying to make a
statement. They are trying to expand the footprint of the art of the Ancient Egyptians. They
specifically followed the stance and facial expressions of the sculptures which we see now as a Godly
stance because humans cannot physically stand the way that they are standing. The resemblance
between the Ancient Greek and the Ancient Egyptian sculptures is very important because the
Egyptian Pharaohs are known as Demi Gods and the Ancient Greek were showing themselves as Gods
in their Sculptures. In the Kuros from Tenea head you can see that they mouth has a smile to it. This is
something new to us. We did not see a smile in these types of sculptures for a long time. This is very
important because the Greeks are straying away from the Egyptian sculptures and becoming more
human. The smile shows more human features which means that they are evolving their way of
making art into something new and innovative. As the Greeks sculptures evolve they become more
and more human in ways. The more the Greeks evolve, the more human their sculptures become and
the more they stray away from

Basic Building Blocks
1. What are proteins composed of (ie basic building blocks)?
Amino acids are the smaller building blocks which protein is made of. There are 20 different amino
acids. Depending on length, sequence of amino acids and function; each protein has unique different
from each other. These amino acids have unique 3D shapes by fold up in complex ways.
2. List the amino acids and diagram their organic structure (C N bonds).
The 20 different amino acids are alanine, arginine, asparagines, aspartic acid, cysteine, glutamic acid,
glutamine, glycine, histidine, isoleucine, leucine, lysine, methionine, phenylalanine, proline, serine,
threonine, tryptophan, tyrosine, and valine.
Amino acids are mainly composed of an amine ( NH2), a carboxylic acid ( COOH), an atom of

and when the pH is lesser than the isoelectric point, protein has a net positive charge.
4. What are the basic secondary structures of proteins and how do they form?
The two main basic secondary structures are the alpha helix and the beta sheet. The alpha helix
secondary structure of the protein coils because of the hydrogen bonds between the backbones of their
amino acids. The backbone of the amino acid is the peptide bonds. So because of the hydrogen bonds
forming between the amine nitrogens and the carbonyl oxygens in different amino acids the protein
has become a helix shape.
The beta sheet or the beta pleated sheet is designed from the hydrogen bonds between the carbonyl
oxygens in one strand binding with the amino hydrogens of the adjacent strand.
5. What are some common protein motifs or domains? Describe three of

The Qualification of Daphne Du Maurier s Rebecca as a...
The Qualification of Daphne Du Maurier s Rebecca as a Gothic Novel One of mankind s most
valuable gifts is the ability to feel emotions and be able to react to them in a variety of ways. One of
these emotions can be recognized as horror. Horror can be directly related as an immense sensation of
fear, anxiety, and despair. Horror is adored by some and abhorred by others. Most importantly, there
exist many sources for frightening media and information. One genre of literature that tends to provide
horror can be known as Gothic Literature. Within this genre, many books serve as accurate
representations. Rebecca by Daphne Du Maurier most definitely qualifies as a Gothic novel due to its
precise portrayal of multiple elements of Gothic Literature such as eerie settings, presence of
distressed characters, and unfortunate events combined with bad weather. Before examining Rebecca s
validity as an accurate representation of Gothic literature, it is imperative for one to understand the
definition and origin of this genre. Gothic literature is a style of writing which involves, ... mystery
and supernatural horror, often set in a dark castle or other medieval setting (Dictionary). One of the
most interesting facts of Gothic literature is that its origins are diverse considering that it developed as
a sub branch of Romanticism. This genre developed from numerous prior plays and writings which
discussed superstition, the evident supernatural, and various demons. An

Formative And Summative Assessment
The impact of formative assessment on student s learning and achievement in South Africa and The
United States
The purpose of this paper is to examine the tensions between formative and summative assessments
with a review of how they impact student learning and achievement for South African and American
students.
Introduction
Assessment is the systematic collection, review, and use of information about educational programs
undertaken for the purpose of improving student learning and development (Palomba Banta, 1999).
Assessment is frequently divided into summative assessment and formative assessment. The
distinction between formative and summative is made mainly in terms of purpose and timing, in
formative assessment the positive achievements of a pupil may be recognised and discussed and the
appropriate next steps may be planned, whereas summative assessment is the recording of the overall
achievement of a pupil in a systematic way (DES/WO, 1988, para. 23).
It has been argued that all assessments can be considered summative, but only some of them are
formative (Tyler, Gagne, Scriven, 1967). Some however favor formative assessments over summative
assessments. There is a critical point to consider when thinking about summative assessment; can test
scores be used to inform us about our teaching and learning? Oftentimes it does not inform us very
well. Students ability and achievement in learning are not measurable by one single test. Even if they
can reveal some problems

Artificial Neural Networks ( Anns )
Artificial neural networks (ANNs) are computational algorithms loosely based on the human
biological nervous system which work to model statistical data. An ANN consists of processing
elements known as neurons that are interconnected to each other and work in unison to answer a
particular problem [, and] can be used in places where detecting trends and extracting patterns are too
complex to be detected by either humans or other computer techniques. Although recent in their
explosion in popularity, the underlying logic behind ANNs have existed for nearly a half century ,
however due to the pervasive and ubiquitous adoption of powerful computational tools in our
contemporary society, ANNs have had a sort of renaissance, much to the avail of scientists, engineers,
and consumers.
The current cutting edge in deep learning and ANNs focuses highly on both their ability to model and
interpret complex data, and their ability to be put to scale due through optimization and parallelization.
The current framework for designing ANNs is one that is widely available, with a myriad of tools
facilitating their development. Python, C++, Google s Tensorflow, Theano, Matlab, and Spark all
contain a robust set of mathematical operations which necessitate ANNs. Due to the algorithm behind
ANNs, the models are inherently apt in extract[ing] meaning from imprecise or intricate problems .
Speaking reductively, ANNs are data modeling tools which are trained on a given dataset, and can

Richard Wagner
The Sadie Wagner case is laced with great opportunity that failed to bloom. What occurred in
Germany was an instance of an excellent employee encountering a mismatch of work cultures and
expectations. Much like planting a seed in an empty vase, there was little chance for success in the
long term. For the sake of productivity, we must understand the conditions that lead to Sadie s
withdrawal from the position to avoid repeated mistakes in future expatriates assignments.
The first issue that must be addressed is the lack of engagement for Sadie s aspirations. It is
understandable that Sadie, as a dedicated employee with defined career goals, would desire a
challenging but rewarding work environment. Thus, when she began feeling underutilized and
prohibited from taking initiative as she was wont to do in her previous position, this established a
significant disconnect between Sadie and her workplace. With this in mind, it is unsurprising that she
departed the company shortly after the aboard project concluded. ... Show more content on

College Admissions Flaws
On top of exceptional students getting declined, prestigious schools are accepting less qualified
students such as legacies, athletes, and minorities, contributing to the flawed system. Rather than
admitting students based on their potential to succeed and personal attributes alone, universities often
admit slightly inferior candidates in order to increase their diversity population and maintain a
dedicated alumni. In A is For Admission, Michele Hernandez mentions some of these discrepancies
when explaining that legacies, students with a parent who attended the university, have a forty percent
acceptance rate at Dartmouth in comparison with the typical ten percent acceptance rate (183).
Additionally, Hernandez further explains that athletes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Starting in high school, students are not given equal opportunities to excel because of family
background. Furthermore, the admissions process itself has its flaws legacies, minorities, and athletes
are being chosen over exceptionally gifted valedictorians. Even after college, the problems do not end;
possible joblessness and student debt are unavoidable. On top of these major problems, educators and
parents continue to convince kids everywhere that college is the only option to become successful, and
choosing another path is heavily looked down upon. The newest generation s life is centered around
the climax of college while at the same time, more and more students are unable to attend universities
because of cost or rejection, but this is a paradox. The more high schoolers work hard, the more high
schoolers will get turned down to their dream schools, and the more the college admissions process
effectively become a lottery, leading to many highly talented, brilliant, creative people thinking they re
not (Robinson). The widespread college problem has no easy fix, nor does it have a single solution.
Rather than working to fix the unfixable, adults must stop putting such emphasis on the college
pathway, and instead stress that there are other options. The future of the job world is unknown; there
is no way to know if an expensive college education is the right choice. College, with all of its flaws,
is just one option in preparing for the future; it is not necessarily the best. Therefore, the single word,
college, should stop dividing the academic from the non academic or the successful from the
unsuccessful, and instead be considered a single path in an array of worthy

The Importance Of The Greatest Generation
The Greatest generation has been perceived as a role model to historians and newer generations. Akin
to a grandchild learning his grandfather s history from past experiences as well as storytelling. As the
older generations values age, that generation tends to reminisce its past, adding to that generations
grandness. As such, the greatest generation has been revered for its valor and morals. As Brokaw
wrote it is, I believe, the greatest generation any society has ever produced . When America was
attacked in 1941 at Pearl Harbor, People where in a panic and had no longer wished to stay out of the
war fought over seas. We had an agenda of revenge against the Japanese and what better way to
retaliate then to pose conflict on their endless assault on the Chinese. Though the men who signed up
had their Patriotism to relay on, the main reason to fight was to stop Japan gaining ground that would
eventually lead to U.S. land. Thus, the American Volunteer Group was born, as we went officially at
war but china was getting brutally attacked, and the looming threat of japan coming in for a second
attack was in our heads, we overtly created this organization. This lead to Claire Lee Chennault
creating the AVG. His pursuit of a new method to peruse Japanese pilots was the pinnacle of American
pride and ingenuity. Chennault s methods where to nuance, to against the traditional way to implement
in the US army. This reason would contribute to the applause Chennault would get after

Analysis Of The Book The Play Essay
The first thing I noticed about the script is there is no FADE IN: or FADE OUT. The script is done by
an amateur that has no clue how to follow proper industry format rules. There is a clear cut inciting
incident within the first five pages, but the audience is lost by page 15 because they don t have any
idea who is the main character of the story. The story starts out fast and furious but fizzles out in the
second act. The Script is 23 pages too long. Most of the description is written as a novel. Need to cut
down on the description. Too much black blotches of text. Why should the Faye listen to the plight of
her abductor during the whole film? She should try to get away and not listen to his sad story. Faye
should use her sexuality to escape. There s no obstacles for the characters to overcome in this script.
The set up to Faye s abduction needs more time to develop. Need to show that the taxi driver was
following the girls. There is no time for the audience to catch up to the action. For example, the taxi
driver needs to be watching Faye. The audience needs to sense danger to be able to participate in the
moment. Faye is not crucial to the story. She should be cut from the script. She adds no cinematic or
dramatic purpose to the story. The story can be told in present time and no need for flashbacks. There
is a love story in this script. It needs to find its way without the flashbacks. The tension could be
higher if the taxi driver shoots Faye s girl friend in

Legalizing Marijuana, An Ethical Perspective
Legalizing Marijuana: An Ethical Perspective
In today s society, many ethical concerns arise on a daily basis, especially when it comes to the topic
of legalizing marijuana. Many individuals have relied on the fact that marijuana was illegal, when
determining whether smoking it should be considered unethical. However, many studies have shown
that the effects of marijuana are not as detrimental as they were once made out to be. Legalizing
marijuana can be an extremely controversial topic because several people have strong beliefs
concerning why it should not be legalized, while a significant amount of people have stronger
arguments, as to why it should be legalized. When it comes to looking at the ethical standpoint of

Another principle includes restrictions on driving while under the influence of marijuana. NORML
stated, Although cannabis is said by most experts to be safer than alcohol and many prescription drugs
with motorists, responsible cannabis consumers never operate motor vehicles in an impaired condition
(NORML, 1996, para, 6). Therefore, the no driving principle is implied. These are two of the most
significant principles presented by NORML.
The next principle is described as set and setting. The NORML organization states, The responsible
cannabis user will carefully consider his/her set and setting, regulating use accordingly (NORML,
1996, para. 7). Meaning, adults should be responsible enough, when using marijuana, to take into
consideration several different aspects of one s life. For instance, it is important for marijuana users to
consider his or her set, meaning the individual s attitude, personality, and experience. The term setting
refers to an individual s physical and social condition or circumstances (NORML, 1996, para. 8).
Therefore, individuals should consider and analyze a number of factors before choosing to smoke or
just choosing to just say no. Two other principles presented by NORML include resisting abuse and
respecting the rights of others. Therefore, individuals should steer clear of any sign of abuse and
should not violate the rights of others when

The Legal And Social Implications Of Prostitution
The legal and social implications of prostitution have been a topic of much concern over the past few
decades. Although the issue has been heavily debated, a proper answer to its legalization or
criminalization has not yet been defined in many countries throughout the world. While some view
that sex work is a justifiable occupation that should be protected under human rights, others argue that
it s legalization would do more harm than good. According to the Health and Human Rights Journal
(2014), the Russian Federation has little justification for its criminalization of sex work, and the
vulnerability of sex worker s demand for their protection under Human Rights. Although, both New
York Times articles agree with the model for criminalizing the purchasing of sex services rather than
the selling, Thrupkaew focuses on the need to provide basic social services for sex workers first
(Thrupkaew 2012), while Flanagin argues to ensure that women and young girls do not become
victims of this criminalization. Throughout the Health and Human Rights Journal, the author develops
a premise against the Russian Federations criminalization of prostitution, more commonly referred to
as sex work. It is crucially noted for full understanding that sex workers are female, male and
transgender adults and young people who receive money or goods in exchange for sexual services
(Arps and Golichenko 2014). Arps and Golichenko declare that the vulnerable condition and
discrimination of sex

Propolis Lab Report
Purpose; The antioxidant properties of Capparis spinosa honey and propolis and the effect of
combined honey and propolis administration on urine volume and electrolytes were studied in rats.
Material and methods; Capparis spinosa honey (1g/kg.b.wt), propolis (100 mg/kg.b.wt),
honey/propolis mixture (100 mg/1g/kg.b.wt), distilled water (1 ml/kg.b.wt) and furosemide (10
mg/kg.b.wt) were orally administered to five groups of rats for 21 days. Urine volume, blood and
urine sodium, potassium and chloride were measured. The antioxidant activity of propolis and the
honey was assessed and their total phenols and flavonoids were determined.
Results; Propolis and Capparis spinosa honey contain polyphenols including flavonoids and propolis
demonstrated higher antioxidant activities than honey. Honey significantly increased urine volume and
urine electrolyte excretion. Propolis has no significant effect on urine volume but co administration of
propolis and honey caused significant diuresis. No major changes were observed in plasma
electrolytes with use of honey, propolis or their combination.
Conclusion; Honey and propolis have antioxidant activity and contain polyphenols including
flavonoids that were more pronounced in propolis. Honey has a significant diuretic activity alone or in
combination with propolis. This is the first study comparing the diuretic effect of co administration of
propolis and Capparis spinosa honey with furosemide.

Explain The Six Fundamental Movements Of Major Body Segments
The six fundamental movements of major body segments are, abduction, extension, flexion, rotation,
adduction, and circumduction. Abduction is the movement of a body part away from the midline, an
example of that would be lateral raises using a dumbbell. Another example would be the lateral
shuffle. It targets the muscles of the thighs, hips, and buttocks. An extension movement would be the
return from flexion and an exercise for this would be leg extensions. An example of a flexion
movement is a hamstring stretch. Rotation is the circular movement of a body segment about a long
axis and an example is when a tennis player hits the ball backhanded. Adduction is movement of a
body part toward the midline. An example of this would be to use the

The Federal Emergency Management Agency
The Rise and Fall of Legitimacy: A Review of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA)
from 1979 to 2005
Introduction
Legitimacy is the lifeblood of an organization. With conflict and competition a clear winner is
considered legitimate. Cooperation, however, offers the potential for legitimacy for multiple parties. A
legitimate organization has authority based on being representative, accountable, responsible,
effectiveness, efficiency, minimal interference from political pressure, and established rules. Rules
provide a rational foundation for procedures and operations. Administrative decisions grounded in
established rules are the basis of a legal rational authority and ensure that decisions are not biased or
influenced. Weber (1922) and Stillman (1998) identify the application of established, impersonal rules
and procedures as an important characteristic of an organization and crucial to a legitimate authority.
The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has seen a rise and fall regarding its view of
legitimacy between the years of 1979 and 2005. FEMA carried a reputation for a lack of legitimacy
for nearly two decades. Strong leadership and a new approach led to an increased respect and view of
legitimacy by the public. However, this was short lived. This paper will discuss the significant
contributing factor leading to FEMA s return to a lack of legitimacy in the response to Hurricane
Katrina.

  • 2. Symbolism In The Lamb And The Tyger By William Blake William Blake is an English poet and printmaker, specially renowned for his poems published in a series titled Songs of Innocence and Experience. Blake s poems firmly explore the comparisons and differences in both old age and infancy, expressing the importance of human growth by alluding to the correlation between human life and the renaissance of nature. In addition, Blake creates a contrast with this joyful concept by conveying the negative aspects of wisdom and moreover, experience. Furthermore, the Romantic Age is represented through many concepts presented in Blake s poems: when commenting on the individual versus society, the Industrial Revolution and its harmful effects on nature, and religious affiliation. Moreover, his strong views on religion are supported and further enhanced when referencing other texts, most significantly the Bible. The reference of the Bible in Blake s The Lamb and The Tyger through the use of symbolism, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Furthermore, an outstanding technique employed by Blake is present in both The Lamb and The Tyger establishing a curious tone: the posing of questions. Initially, The Lamb , published in Songs of Innocence, composes of two stanzas sung by a young child; the first stanza consists of questions and the second stanza aims to answer those very questions. Moreover the first stanza begins with a meek and naïve question, Little Lamb who made thee, (line 1). The simplicity of the question further suggests the innocence of the child, however, the register of the biblical language (thee) is a clear example of a reference to the Bible. In addition, this reference is questioning the nature and the origins of the Little Lamb and is later answered, introducing a new character, For he calls himself a Lamb... (line 13). Here Blake mentions Jesus Christ, and is presented as the Shepherd of the lambs, who symbolize human ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Hidden Figures Dorothy Byron Analysis Dorothy Vaughn Dorothy Vaughn is known as NASA s first African American supervisor and previously worked as a math teacher. Dorothy Vaughan unofficially supervised West Computing to analyze data for aerospace engineers before being promoted as supervisor. Eventually, the West Computing Wing would be abolished and replaced by higher technology from IBM to calculate equations at a much faster rate. Thus, forced Vaughn to take the helm and find a new way to provide jobs for the computers or women of color who computed data calculations for NASA. From analyzing Hidden Figures, the movie recognizes the prejudice that black women of that time have experienced in and out of the work place. Vaughn plays a very valuable role in Hidden Figures as a motherly figure to not only her children but to black women whom she worked with. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... At the beginning of the movie we see that Vaughn was fixing the car and gives Katherine and Mary rides to and from work. In the movie during scene 28:12 Vaughn says to Mary Get you damn feet off my dashboard. This ain t your livin room , during this scene we see that Vaughn spoke to Mary in a motherly tone. Later in the movie after Vaughn and her sons were kicked out of the library for being black a police officer escorts them out of the building and she pointedly states at scene 50:12 Get your hand off my boy. Don t touch them. You have a bless day . The similarity between these two statements shows that Vaughn does play a motherly figure towards the women she works ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Discussion of the Article The Influence of Economists on... Discussing the Federal Reserve After reading the article, The Influence of Economists on the Federal Reserve Act, it is apparent the author is trying to suggest that the economists played a major role in the banking reform which led to the development of the Federal Reserve Act. During the late 1800 s and early 1900 s, issues regarding the framework for which the bank operates on was inconsistent and did not perform as projected in foreseeable emergency situations. For this reason, economists developed strategies and offered a plan that would deter the U.S. from the current sub tier banking system currently in place into a more reliable centralized banking system. The author gives evidence to this by including an array of economists ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... With copious amounts of supporting details, the author s point of view may be one that focuses on economists in relation to the Federal Reserve Act and less on political agendas. The economists were the ones responsible for providing research and acknowledging different solutions to the crisis of 1907. The author depicts economists in the article as direct advisors and policy makers which gives the reader a better understanding of their roles in which they were perceived by the Senate and Congress (Caporal, 2003). These were individuals that strived for excellence and would go to great means to make an impact in the economy that would alter the banking system forever. Whether a reader agrees or disagrees with how the centralized banking system was created, the foundation for which it was built off of has continued to grow over a century with key fundamentals still in place today. The author s implications demonstrate that an economists, the intellectuals, were responsible for the banking reform that led to a structured banking system. Could this all have been possible without the influence of the economists? In my opinion, the author has provided enough evidence that would allow the reader to properly analyze and have confidence in the integrity of the article. The conclusion of the article signifies the influence the economist s had on the Federal Reserve Act and the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 11. The Fuel Of Diesel Vehicles Today, we live in a world that s vastly interconnected. Something that happens across seas can affect a whole nation, several nations, or even all of them. Recently Volkswagen was put in the hot seat when they were caught imputing software into their diesel vehicles, that makes it show a different emissions output than was accepted by the EPA. They called this device the, defeat device. Thusly all of their vehicles that were diesel were marketed as low emissions which turned out to be a lie. The article on bbc.com states, The engines emitted nitrogen oxide pollutants up to 40 times above what is allowed in the US. This is a huge blow to the company as far as public opinion goes. They lost the trust of millions of people around the world. They have been producing allegedly clean diesel emissions for a long time now and even included that in their advertisements. Because of this scandal they were forced to recall millions of diesel vehicles with this device causing them to lose over $2.5 billion. Their first quarterly loss in the past 15 years. This sounds like a lot of money but the EPA is still considering fining Volkswagen for each car they produced and lied about. The amount they are considering charging them is roughly $37,500 for each car which leads to a maximum fine of $18 billion. That s more than the value of most of the cars, which really shows how seriously they are taking this. Even for a giant like VW that is a massive blow financially. From now on every ... • 20. The Connection between Sentence Comprehension and Motor... There is contemporary evidence that some language tasks that require an individual to comprehend action words (e.g. walk) and nouns of manipulable objects (e.g.. mug) activate regions on the motor cortex. This event is recognized as motor resonance. However, this phenomenon challenges present theoretical explanation of word comprehension. There are two dominant perceptions which are followed in cognitive psychology. The first account is that individuals understand words such as chew from previous practice; therefore, for one to comprehend a word they must consider the prior actions and experiences that are connected with that word. The second explanation is an alternative where the word evokes an action. The actions become an automatic byproduct after an individuals resolves the connotation of the word. A recent study conducted by Masson, Bub, and Lavelle at the University of Victoria, examines the degree to which context controls the action representations elicited by a word. The goal of the research question was to gain a deeper understanding of the connection between motor resonance and sentence comprehension. This was analyzed through action representations that are dependent on grasping an manipulable object such as cellphone, wine glass, pencil, hairspray, etc. The two action representations were volumetric (V) actions and functional (F) actions. This is a sculpture of a Greek God standing in the frontal position with one foot pointed forward and the hips still straight. This is very important because for the Greeks to mimic the Ancient Egyptian sculpting styles you can see that they are trying to make a statement. They are trying to expand the footprint of the art of the Ancient Egyptians. They specifically followed the stance and facial expressions of the sculptures which we see now as a Godly stance because humans cannot physically stand the way that they are standing. In the Kuros from Tenea head you can see that they mouth has a smile to it. This is something new to us. We did not see a smile in these types of sculptures for a long time. Formative And Summative Assessment The impact of formative assessment on student s learning and achievement in South Africa and The United States The purpose of this paper is to examine the tensions between formative and summative assessments with a review of how they impact student learning and achievement for South African and American students. Introduction Assessment is the systematic collection, review, and use of information about educational programs undertaken for the purpose of improving student learning and development (Palomba Banta, 1999). Assessment is frequently divided into summative assessment and formative assessment. The distinction between formative and summative is made mainly in terms of purpose and timing, in formative assessment the positive achievements of a pupil may be recognised and discussed and the appropriate next steps may be planned, whereas summative assessment is the recording of the overall achievement of a pupil in a systematic way (DES/WO, 1988, para. 23). It has been argued that all assessments can be considered summative, but only some of them are formative (Tyler, Gagne, Scriven, 1967). Some however favor formative assessments over summative assessments. There is a critical point to consider when thinking about summative assessment; can test scores be used to inform us about our teaching and learning? Oftentimes it does not inform us very well. Students ability and achievement in learning are not measurable by one single test. Even if they can reveal some problems ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

An ANN consists of processing elements known as neurons that are interconnected to each other and work in unison to answer a particular problem [, and] can be used in places where detecting trends and extracting patterns are too complex to be detected by either humans or other computer techniques. Although recent in their explosion in popularity, the underlying logic behind ANNs have existed for nearly a half century , however due to the pervasive and ubiquitous adoption of powerful computational tools in our contemporary society, ANNs have had a sort of renaissance, much to the avail of scientists, engineers, and consumers. The current framework for designing ANNs is one that is widely available, with a myriad of tools facilitating their development. The newest generation s life is centered around the climax of college while at the same time, more and more students are unable to attend universities because of cost or rejection, but this is a paradox. Therefore, the no driving principle is implied. These are two of the most significant principles presented by NORML. The next principle is described as set and setting. The NORML organization states, The responsible cannabis user will carefully consider his/her set and setting, regulating use accordingly (NORML, 1996, para. 7). Meaning, adults should be responsible enough, when using marijuana, to take into consideration several different aspects of one s life. For instance, it is important for marijuana users to consider his or her set, meaning the individual s attitude, personality, and experience. The term setting refers to an individual s physical and social condition or circumstances (NORML, 1996, para. 8). Two other principles presented by NORML include resisting abuse and respecting the rights of others. Therefore, individuals should steer clear of any sign of abuse and should not violate the rights of others when ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 36. The Legal And Social Implications Of Prostitution The legal and social implications of prostitution have been a topic of much concern over the past few decades. Although the issue has been heavily debated, a proper answer to its legalization or criminalization has not yet been defined in many countries throughout the world. While some view that sex work is a justifiable occupation that should be protected under human rights, others argue that it s legalization would do more harm than good. According to the Health and Human Rights Journal (2014), the Russian Federation has little justification for its criminalization of sex work, and the vulnerability of sex worker s demand for their protection under Human Rights. Although, both New York Times articles agree with the model for criminalizing the purchasing of sex services rather than the selling, Thrupkaew focuses on the need to provide basic social services for sex workers first (Thrupkaew 2012), while Flanagin argues to ensure that women and young girls do not become victims of this criminalization. Throughout the Health and Human Rights Journal, the author develops a premise against the Russian Federations criminalization of prostitution, more commonly referred to as sex work. It is crucially noted for full understanding that sex workers are female, male and transgender adults and young people who receive money or goods in exchange for sexual services (Arps and Golichenko 2014). Arps and Golichenko declare that the vulnerable condition and discrimination of sex ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 37. Propolis Lab Report Purpose; The antioxidant properties of Capparis spinosa honey and propolis and the effect of combined honey and propolis administration on urine volume and electrolytes were studied in rats. Material and methods; Capparis spinosa honey (1g/kg.b.wt), propolis (100 mg/kg.b.wt), honey/propolis mixture (100 mg/1g/kg.b.wt), distilled water (1 ml/kg.b.wt) and furosemide (10 mg/kg.b.wt) were orally administered to five groups of rats for 21 days. Urine volume, blood and urine sodium, potassium and chloride were measured. The antioxidant activity of propolis and the honey was assessed and their total phenols and flavonoids were determined. Results; Propolis and Capparis spinosa honey contain polyphenols including flavonoids and propolis demonstrated higher antioxidant activities than honey. Honey significantly increased urine volume and urine electrolyte excretion. Propolis has no significant effect on urine volume but co administration of propolis and honey caused significant diuresis. No major changes were observed in plasma electrolytes with use of honey, propolis or their combination. Conclusion; Honey and propolis have antioxidant activity and contain polyphenols including flavonoids that were more pronounced in propolis. Honey has a significant diuretic activity alone or in combination with propolis. This is the first study comparing the diuretic effect of co administration of propolis and Capparis spinosa honey with furosemide. Key Words; Honey; propolis; antioxidants; ... • 38. Explain The Six Fundamental Movements Of Major Body Segments The six fundamental movements of major body segments are, abduction, extension, flexion, rotation, adduction, and circumduction. Abduction is the movement of a body part away from the midline, an example of that would be lateral raises using a dumbbell. Another example would be the lateral shuffle. It targets the muscles of the thighs, hips, and buttocks. An extension movement would be the return from flexion and an exercise for this would be leg extensions. An example of a flexion movement is a hamstring stretch. Rotation is the circular movement of a body segment about a long axis and an example is when a tennis player hits the ball backhanded. Adduction is movement of a body part toward the midline. An example of this would be to use the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 39. The Federal Emergency Management Agency The Rise and Fall of Legitimacy: A Review of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) from 1979 to 2005 Introduction Legitimacy is the lifeblood of an organization. With conflict and competition a clear winner is considered legitimate. Cooperation, however, offers the potential for legitimacy for multiple parties. A legitimate organization has authority based on being representative, accountable, responsible, effectiveness, efficiency, minimal interference from political pressure, and established rules. Rules provide a rational foundation for procedures and operations. Administrative decisions grounded in established rules are the basis of a legal rational authority and ensure that decisions are not biased or influenced. Weber (1922) and Stillman (1998) identify the application of established, impersonal rules and procedures as an important characteristic of an organization and crucial to a legitimate authority. The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has seen a rise and fall regarding its view of legitimacy between the years of 1979 and 2005. FEMA carried a reputation for a lack of legitimacy for nearly two decades. Strong leadership and a new approach led to an increased respect and view of legitimacy by the public. However, this was short lived. This paper will discuss the significant contributing factor leading to FEMA s return to a lack of legitimacy in the response to Hurricane Katrina. The Early Years In 1979 The Federal Emergency Management Agency ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
