A Study Done By Vrangalova ( 2015 ) Essay
A study done by Vrangalova (2015) suggests that casual sex can form negative outcomes. In the
study it suggests that the self esteem of women will decrease due to more negative outcomes when
it comes to hooking up. While the men experience more positive outcomes of hooking up therefore
their self esteem increases. In the current study the effects of hooking up and self esteembetween
men and women will be tested using a survey that involves Rosenberg s Self Esteem Scale. A
correlation method will help determine if the effects of hooking up amongst men and women are
different, while the self esteem of men increase and the women s self esteem decrease.
Effects of Hooking Up on Self Esteem amongst Men and Women When thinking back on your
time in college what comes to mind? All the late nights you stayed up studying? How you were
always stressed out and sleep deprived? The parties and the amount of alcohol consumed? Or that
time you had a one night stand with someone you met at a party?
Most of the events resemble a typical college experience, especially since research has found that
hooking up is prevalent on college campuses more than ever. There has been studies conducted to
determine if engaging in hook ups is harmful to one s self. There has been a few longitudinal
studies that have shown hooking up has some positive effects, but more negative effects than
positive. A study by Rosenthal, Moore, and Flynn (1991) found that males had higher

Pablo Neruda Poem Analysis
I want you to stop and think about tone in day to day conversations. It mostly depends on the body
language, volume of voice, and pitch of the person speaking. Written poems, on the other hand,
develop their tone through imagery, language use, and form. To show this, I will be using the poem
Tonight I can write by analyzing how Pablo Neruda works with distant imagery, nostalgic past tense
, and repetitive form to develop a grief filled tone. Through my analysis, I will be mentioning that
the author generates loneliness in the persona. I expect the reader to agree that solitude is a state
naturally feared and unwanted by humankind because of our undeniable biological drive to
reproduce and survive, which requires the company of others. With that being said, I hope that we
can assume loneliness is essentially connected to grief.
The first way I noticed that Pablo Neruda uses form to establish a grief filled tone in his poem is
by repetition, specifically, of the word night . The word is present through his entire work. Nights
are linked to darkness, and darkness is neurologically linked to depression. In 2007, some
neuroscientists at the University of Pennsylvania conducted a study with rats which concluded that
light deprivation produces depression in rats. So it is scientifically correct to say that this repeated
darkness adds to the grief filled tone. His first word in both the title and line 1 of the poem is
Tonight (1) which derives from the word night. After this,

Motivation
Motivation is a great noun. This word has inspired some songs, recording artist Kelly Rolland
wrote a song about how she wants to be someone s motivation. Each individual is motivated by
different factors, money, power or love. Everybody exhibits various behaviors since everybody has
differential reasons for behaving a certain way. Julia Stewart is a good role model in generating
employee engagement and motivation within her company by job crafting and job enrichment.
Julia Stewart was mindful of the challenging role of fitting big shoes as VP of a thousand
restaurants. She worked hard developing her low performing restaurants in South Central LA. Julia
rapidly became cognizant of employee s low recognition. Employees were not

The Effect Of Modern Medicine On Health, Wellness, And...
As interest in natural means to improved health, wellness and fitness grows, essential oils are
gaining in popularity in the United States. The healing powers, on both physiological and
psychological levels, have been utilized in Europe and the rest of the world for some time. Natural,
pure essential oils used in aromatherapy have a very diverse range of healing properties as diverse
as the hundreds of plants from which they are distilled. The effects range from antibiotic (without
incurrence of resistance as with pharmaceutical drugs), to antiviral (the power of which modern
medicine has yet to replicate), to anti inflammatory and analgesic, with many having homeostatic
properties meaning they support balance in many of the body s systems.
Here s brief look at ten essential oils commonly used in the home health care kit the list and
descriptions are not meant to be exhaustive; rather, let them stimulate your interest in furthering
your knowledge of these oils, their applications, and the vast potential of the many, many other
essential oils available today.
Tea Tree Essential OilWhen first examined for it s antiseptic properties, Tea Tree essential oil was
found to be 100 times more powerful than carbolic acid the medical standard at the time. Tea tree
has an extremely broad range of antibiotic, antiviral and antifungal properties that have been
confirmed by modern scientific research. Often used topically on small wounds, Tea

Who Is Susan B Anthony A Hero
She was severe in her moral judgments, had sympathy for people, and dedicated her life to the
movements for reform. Susan B. Anthony spoke her mind about what she believed in. She grew up
feeling that everyone should be equal no matter your gender or color. In the world, she noticed that
this was everyone s philosophy men, their rights and nothing more; women, their rights and nothing
less (Susan B(rownell) Anthony). Anthony informed many about temperance. She elucidated how
everyone should be equal. She supported that black men needed to be free and encouraged people
to make everyone equal. Susan B. Anthonyused her voice to help people cognize the evils of

Anthony was insane for trying women equal but she always told herself that [F]ailure was
impossible (qtd. in Matthews). Anthony registered to vote in Rochester and was charged $100 fine
that she never paid, [I]n 1872 after concluding that nothing in the Constitution specifically
prohibited women from voting (Susan B. Anthony). She refused to pay because it wasn t fair that
men got to vote but women didn t. What made men more important than women? Some saw no
point in women voting; with no understanding of politics, they would only vote as their menfolk
told them (Lavender, William, and Mary). This is why people insulted and made fun of her, she
believed in something not very many other people did. She needed to get men to agree with her.
When Susan B. Anthony began the women s suffrage movement ...women had few legal rights.
[T]oday women have opportunities for higher education, the privilege of working at almost any
occupation, the right to control or own property and children, the right to hold public office, and
the right to vote (Susan B.. Anthony). Through Susan Anthony s hard work, efforts, and dedication
she helped the world of women better. She knew that women were capable of things that nobody
else thought we were able to do. Anthony never got to see the ratification of the 19th Amendment,
because it took a century to get the world to agree with her. Before this happened, she wanted to

Unaccompanied Immigrant Children
Should the United States Deport Unauthorized and Unaccompanied Immigrant Children?
Dan Coats believe that illegal children who immigrated unaccompanied should be deported due to
the increasing numbers and how it promotes the dangerous journeys the children take to get to the
United States. Coats believes the focus should be placed on the children s start of their journey and
deterring them from coming. The focus should not be once they arrive at the border (p. 186).
In contrast, Mark Seitz argues the children should not be deported and have the best interest of the
child standard apply to them. The author looks at potential reasons for this increase in number and
also proposes recommendations for congress to ensure that the children are ... Show more content

The techniques include, appeal to authority, and bandwagon. In the opening paragraph, Seitz
appeals to authority. The line, In November 2013, I was privileged to lead a United States
Conference of Catholic Bishops delegation traveling to Southern Mexico, El Salvador, Guatemala
and Honduras to examine and understand the flight of unaccompanied migrating children and
youth... (p. 189) was used to build up his credibility since he has experience. Sietz also appeals
to sympathy on different occasions. The first instance is when he states, Mr. Chairman I would
like to share the stories of three children one from El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras to give
the committee a sense of the reality of the violence they are fleeing: (p. 190). The simple thought
of hearing these children s stories evokes emotions of sympathy. Another instance is his
conclusion when he states, I ask you to consider the individual stories of these vulnerable child
migrants and open your minds and hearts to their plight while seeking meaningful and long term
regional solutions. I ask you to respond to the needs of these children not to turn them away or
ostracize them as Americans are a compassionate people (pg. 193). The words vulnerable and
plight as well as the line open your minds and heart evoke sympathy. Lastly, the line, As Americans
are a compassionate people (p. 193) is borderline bandwagon because it could insinuate that if you
disagree then you are not compassionate or American.
After reading both sides of the arguments I found Dan Coats argument most biased because it
contained the most propaganda. In my opinion, the oversimplification of what he called the
narrative was distracting and seemed informal to me. I understand the importance; however, it
could have been presented differently. In addition, his argument contained pseudo

Martin Luther s Ninety-Five Theses On The Church
Martin Luther was the son of a coal miner and left his studies to become an Augustinian monk. He
spoke out against the church in Wittenberg. Luther was convinced that salvation was earned by
the performance of good deeds and grace through the church. He disagreed and argued that
salvation could only be obtained by faith in knowing Christ s sacrifice. If one were to purchase
indulgences, Luther thought that they were useless because one can only be saved by the grace of
God. He also believed that Christian s should assume full responsibility for their actions on earth. In
1517, Luther posted the Ninety Five Theseson the church door in Wittenberg. This post was ninety

Portrayal Of Female Heroines From Disney s Cartoon Heroines
Not many companies can influence the childhood development of many Americans like the Walt
Disney Company. Disney, named after their founder, began as just an animation studio called The
Walt Disney Studios, which the company describes as the foundation on which The Walt Disney
Company was built . Today, Disney produces various items targeted at children like toys, clothing,
and animation ( Company ). In the paper, Images of Animated Others: The Orientalization of
Disney s Cartoon Heroines From The Little Mermaid To The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Celeste
Lacroix of the College of Charleston assesses the portrayal of female heroines from Disney
animated films that depicts human main characters, examining the sexualization of non European
or the exotic others, and brings to light Disney s strategy to instill an attitude of consumerism in
children. Despite my memorable sentiment with Disney animations as a child, I agree with Lacroix
s assertion that Disney impose consumerism onto children, especially with DVD commercials, tie in
products and apps on smartphones and tablets.
Starting off her paper, Lacroix begins with an anecdote of her visit to a theater s premier of The
Lion King. Within her anecdote, Lacroix remarks that a toddler...began shouting with glee for the
character Timon from The Lion King, which Lacroix found concerning as the toddler was all too
aware even before the movie started playing (213 214). Lacroix directs attention to the repeated

Zoroastrianism s Influence On The Formation Of Christianity
Zoroastrianism was a huge influence on the formation of Christianity. There are multiple links
between the two religions while Zoroastrianism pre dates Christianity by hundreds of years. The
evidence found through archaeological discovery and from the beliefs of present day
Zoroastrianists points to one conclusion: that although Christianityand Zoroastrianism are seen as
two very different religions, their cosmologies are so intertwined that is hard to tell which came
first until looking at the physical evidence. The core beliefs are similar and how each religion
predicts what will happen at the end of time are, as well. For some Christians, it hard to look at the
evidence without it shaking their beliefs, but by taking an outsider s perspective, one can begin see
that religions are evolving throughout the millennia. Three main topics arise when comparing the
two religions: the creation story, the story of the savior, and the revelation story. The relationships
between these two religions shows that religions may not only be divinely inspired, but also
inspired from past religions. This gives people the idea that faith evolves through the ages to better
suit the current culture or state of society.
Creation is seen in Christianity as a sacred story that explains not how, but why people exist in this
universe. Depending on the sect of Christianity, it is taken literally, or it is seen as a story that
teaches the lesson of their god s great love for mankind. Christians

I Am Thomas Analysis
Belonging is a crucial basic human emotional need and is defined as the desire to connect and
bond with others. Many individuals find that belonging can provide various rewards, whilst
individuals that struggle with belonging may result in a self destructive behaviour. The picture
book I am Thomas by Libby Gleeson and the tragic play King Lear by Shakespeare are texts that
have identified this concept and reveal how belonging can be influenced and provide feelings of
fulfilment and self destruction. As demonstrated in I am Thomas , the nature of belonging can be

used to force Thomas to conform to society. Accompanying these words are various sinister
charcoal figures with piercing gazes that use this demanding tone in an attempt to force Thomas

Life On The Home Front During World War II
Mahmudul Rapi

Life on the Home Front During World War II During the 1930s. the United States faced one of
the greatest economic depressions in history, known as the Great Depression. Since many people
essentially manipulated the stock market to their advantage, they eventually got richer. However,
on October 29,1929, the stock market crashed since so many people wanted to sell their stocks
but so few people wanted to buy these products, which caused prices to collapse. This led up to
issues such as banking crisis, where banks who invested so heavily on the stock market lost so
much money. In fact, people who deposited money lose everything they had. In addition, factories
that has overproduced goods had also lost tons of money since businesses were producing far more
goods than people were consuming. All these events that led to the Great Depression. Although
Franklin D. Roosevelt came into office in 1933 and released his plans known as the New Deal
which were essentially government programs that provided aid to Americans, it did not change the
fact that the economy was still largely suffering. Meanwhile, tensions in Europe also increased as
European countries were devastated from the hard times occurring in their nation. Following
totalitarianism as a political system, many European countries were led by dictators. One of the
most important dictator, was German leader Adolph Hitler. Germany, who had lost a lot power and

The Deconstruction of Raskolnikov as Гњbermensch Essay...
THE DECONSTRUCTION OF RASKOLNIKOV AS ГњBERMENSCH
Murderer! he said suddenly, in a low but clear and distinct voice (pg. 231). In just one word (Part
3, Chapter VI of Crime and Punishment), the stranger s direct label is a stabbing remark in
opposition of Raskolnikov s assumed identity. It is the debasement of a man god, to be more apt a
superman, who is ever so close to falling off the perch and into the abyss. It was impossible to be
sure, but it seemed to Raskolnikov that his face again wore its coldly hostile and triumphant smile
(231). Raskolnikov as the extraordinary man seeks not greatness but justice to serve his pursuits.
The elevation is left to the ordinary people who are willing subordinates as puppets along the string.

Crime is prestuplenie in Russian meaning transgressing whilst stepping over a boundary.
Raskol is a word meaning schism and it is fitting when applied to the boundary Raskolnikov
straddles. Staying on one side or crossing over to the other is a key binary opposition in this
chapter. Crossing over is akin to realizing the incomprehensible and that is heroic. Good and evil
are abstract terms with superfluous meanings to the superman that are replaced with the all
important word justice . The superman goes beyond good and evil by being morally skeptical of
the adoptive constraints placed on the ordinary people. Albeit, this comes with a caveat as
Raskolnikov tirelessly tries in vain to subjugate his conscience and love as well as contempt for
people threatens his identity. In this vein, I am inclined to agree with Sergei V. Belov when he
states whatever I might be, whatever I might do, whether I should be a benefactor of humanity or
whether I would suck out its vital juices like a spider, that does not matter to me. I know that I
want to rule, and that is enough (490). Here lies the conflict between the will to power and the will
to serve that challenges the theory. In catering to the love of the ordinary people, the superman
inadvertently reaches for the respect which brings them to his eye level and in effect grants them the

Reflection Paper On Healthy Food
Healthy Food Community Outreach Project Reflection Paper
Our group the Kids Next Door was assigned to a Family Dollars Store in 901 Bridgewood Dr.
Fort Worth, TX 76112 to conduct Healthy Food Community Outreach survey. This Family Dollar
Store opens at 9:00 am and close at 10:00 pm Monday through Sunday. So, on October 19, 2017,
Thursday at 9:00 am, our group went to conduct the survey. We enjoyed conducting this survey
and it was a great opportunity to learn about healthy food in our Tarrant county. As working with a
group on this project, I have gained experiences in teamwork, communication, and exploration.
Before we went to conduct the survey, I was kind of afraid to go shopping there alone. I thought
this neighborhood is dangerous and was not safe for a girl to shopping there alone. However, after
exploring the neighborhood Family Dollar store, my negative thoughts of this neighborhood were
completely changed.
The location of this Family Dollar store is across from Dollar General and about half a mile
from this Family Dollar store, there is Albertson supermarket. I also noticed there was a city bus
stop nearby this Family Dollar store. I found this location as convenient for the residents and
access to public transportation is another factor that gives people transportation options to get to
work and shopping. There were plenty of parking spaces available for customers including
accessible handicap parking spaces in front of the store and near the store entrance. The store
environment was clean, but I did not notice whether the trash bin was placed in front of the store
or not. I arrived there a little bit early around 8:50 am and I saw a few customers walked in the
store ten minutes earlier than store open hour. It was kind of a surprise to see it because I did not
expect the store would allow the customer to walk into the store before the open hour.
Unfortunately, our group member Kayla could not join us for this survey. The rest our group
members met in the parking on the survey day. We brought the survey, but we forgot to bring a
letter to show the store manager. However, the store staffs were friendly, and they allowed us to
perform the survey without a permission letter. This Family Dollar store

Cultural Issues Of Assisted Living
To begin, there are two main issues that make it difficult for American Muslims to accept assisted
living facilities for their elderly parents or support the development of assisted living and nursing
care facilities. The first issue has to do with their culture and how unique it is. The Muslim culture
has specific guidelines on how they are supposed to live according to the Quran. One cultural issue
is that Muslims are taught to respect their elders, but it was never explained in the Quran how to do
that exactly. Many Muslims are torn between putting their parents in a nursing home because they
can t give them the right care, or they succumb to peer pressure and do what other Muslims are

1984 Controlling The Mind Analysis
In 1984 by George Orwell, Big Brother uses fear and lies to control its citizens and their thoughts.
They are constantly being monitored using Telescreens, so everything done or said is recorded by
Big Brother and used against them. O Brien, an inner party member, tricks Winston Smith into
believing there were other people like Winston who oppose Big Brother. O Brien tells Winston that
his thoughts and memories are delusions that never occurred. O Brien later explains that Big
Brother controls all, including reality itself. Reality is what someone feels and experiences so it s
possible that Big Brother controls reality by controlling the mind.Reality is what is perceived to be
true, but what exactly is the truth when someone controls your mind. In science, reality is a
theoretical notion of understanding that can never be proven. In the Copenhagen Interpretation
from the school of quantum mechanics, reality does not exist without an observer to observe it so

Great Barrier Reef Threats Essay
Threats to The Great Barrier Reef
The Great Barrier Reef is a reef located in the Coral Sea, on Australia s north eastern coast. It
stretches more than 2,300km along the state of Queensland s coastline, beginning at the tip of Cape
York Peninsula in the north and extending down to Bundaberg in the south.
The Great Barrier Reef has recently been faced with threats of climate change which is set to
wreak irreversible damage by the year 2030. This is because over the past century, human activities
have released considerable amounts of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases into the
atmosphere. The majority of greenhouse gases come from burning fossil fuels to produce energy,
although deforestation, industrial processes, and some agricultural practices also emit gases into
the atmosphere. the increase of these greenhouse gases can change Earth s climate and result in
dangerous effects to human health and welfare and to ecosystems. The Great Barrier Reef has been
and will be more and more soon, greatly effected by this as well as other serious threats such as,
catchment pollution, coastal development and fishing.

leaves. Like sea grass, seaweed requires sunlight for photosynthesis. Since they don t inherit
roots they require hard surfaces to attach themselves to so they don t float away. Brown and red
algae are usually found closer to shore, whereas red and green seaweed is found more further
away in offshore areas. Algae play a large role in the ecology of the Great Barrier Reef. They
create habitats for numerous invertebrates and vertebrates. In addition they are a major food source

Canadian Federalism
Conclusion As of now we have looked at three points of contention between the two parties. But
these are merely pieces of the puzzle, by connecting them together we will see the full picture. First,
the sovereigntists see Quebec as a distinct society, which is distinct in its own right due to its
distinct culture and institutions. But as history has shown them, the Canadian federation has
undermined Quebecand its distinctness. The sovereigntists see this as setting Quebec on a path of
continued subjugation under Canadian federalism. Desiring to change the situation they are left
with two options, either be recognized and gain autonomy over there culture, or separate from the
union and gain autonomy in this way. Canadathen is a subjugator of Quebec and is different from
Quebec do having different culture and institutions. Furthermore, Canada refuses to recognize this
difference. Following from before then, Quebec must leave the union or continued to be subjugated.
Therefore, sovereigntists view Quebec as distinct unrecognized state, who has been historically
subjugated under Canada, and is on a path of continued subjugation, while they view Canada as
different from Quebec and as the subjugator of Quebec.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They understand that is distinct but its own definition is dependent upon Canada. To be a
Quebecor then is to also be a Canadian. Furthermore, Quebec`s history may be one of
subjugation, but to them it does not follow that this has created a path for the province. The
future is open to them, thus Quebec is able to progress and choose its own path. Finally, Quebec
has been recognized as being different, and as such Canada has accommodated the province. Thus,
federalists view Quebec as a distinct and recognized aspect of Canada, who is also an equal partner

An Organizing Framework for Interprofessional Global Health Education

Introduction
G lobal health is an extremely complex ... area of study, research and practice that places a priority
on improving health and achieving equity in health for all people worldwide. Global health
emphasizes transnational health issues, determinants and solutions; involves many disciplines
within and beyond the health sciences and promotes interdisciplinary collaboration; and is a
synthesis of population based prevention with individual level care (Koplan et al. 2009, 3).
Beaglehole and Bonita (2010) proposed that global health is a collaborative trans national research

During an intercultural teaching experience in Japan in 2004 to 2005, the author had previous
experience in developing and teaching an international nursing course. These experiences provided
insight into the complexity of global health and the need to bring disparate but related concepts
into a meaningful whole. Redwood Campbell et al. (2011) described an organizing framework for
global health curricula in family medicine. The aim was to identify and incorporate key educational
elements to achieve desired global health education outcomes. Although the framework guides the
curriculum for family medicine, an expanded framework is needed with an interprofessional focus.
The purpose of this paper is to (a) present an organizing framework for interprofessional global
health courses/curricula, (b) describe the primary and secondary characteristics that are distinct to
global health , and (c) discuss how the primary and secondary characteristics are reflected in the
organizing framework.
The Organizing Framework
Recently, there have been recommendations for the incorporation of systems thinking into global
health. Russell et al. (2014) contended that systems thinking offers the principles and methods
necessary to address existing and future health challenges in global health. Thus, there is
justification for using open systems theory as the basis for the organizing framework which
consists of input, process, output, and a feedback loop. The concepts in

Witness for the Prosecution
The mystery, Witness for the Prosecution , was produced in 1957 by Arthur Hornblow, Jr. and
directed by Billy Wilder. The two lead male actors were Tyrone Power as Leonard Vole and
Charles Laughton as Sir Wilfrid Robarts. The lead female actor was Marlene Dietrich as Christine
Helm. Witness for the Prosecution superbly demonstrated a realist view of the operating procedures
in a courtroom. The actors within the courtroom were easy to identify, and the steps transitioned
smoothly from the arrest to the reading of the verdict. The murder trial of Leonard Vole provided
realistic insight into how laws on the books are used in courtroom proceedings. With the inferior

The defense for Vole was nonexistent until a stranger provided damaging evidence against the
prosecution s most damaging witness.
For the defendant to be found guilty of murder, the burden is placed on the prosecutor to prove the
defendant guilty beyond a reasonable doubt (Neubauer Fradella, 2014, p. 33). In other words, the
prosecutor, Mr. Myer must present a strong case to satisfy the jury that charges against the
defendant are almost certainly true (Neubauer Fradella, 2014, p. 35). When the trial started, the
evidence was strong enough for a guilty verdict. The prosecution had three witnesses to support
the claim that Vole killed Emily French. The first witness, Inspector Hearne, provided the court
with blood evidence on the sleeve of Vole s jacket; however, during cross examination, Sir Wilfrid
disputed the evidence because Vole s blood type was not excluded as the donor. The second
witness was Janet McKenize, Mrs. French s hard of hearing housekeeper, who stated she heard Vole
and Mrs. French talking on the night of the murder; nevertheless, during cross examination, Sir
Wilfrid discredited her testimony when he proved to the jury that she was hard of hearing. The
climax of the prosecution came when Mr. Myers, after objections by Sir Wilfrid, called Christine
Helm, Vole s wife, to the stand. Christine was thought to be the wife of Vole but provided

America s neoliberal capitalism and the economic expansion
After the crisis of government regulation capitalism about six years from 1973 to1979, a new
layout liberal capitalism started to appear; firstly it was in Britain and the United States. In
America, the new liberal capitalism was of main features in following:
(1) Cancel the regulation of finance and business not only in domestic but also internationally,
allowing the free market rule, and realizing capital to flow freely.
(2) Privatize government services directly provide the government agencies and government
workers in the past.

Summary Of IVe Been To The Mountaintop
The day before Martin Luther King Jr s assassination, MLK Jr. spoke at Mason Temple in
Memphis, Tennessee on April 3, 1968 about the Memphis Sanitation Strike. The intention of the
speech I ve Been to the Mountaintop was to convince other African Americans to band together and
support the sanitation workers after two black, garbage collectors died in an accident. The deaths
caused others to realize the unequal treatment of blacks and whites in the workplace. MLK uses
ethos, pathos, and logos to persuade fellow African Americans to band together in a nonviolent
movement for the equalization between races.
Ethos is an appeal to ethics in writing to convince the audience of the speaker s character. In the
start of the speech, King tells about a hypothetical journey through the ages of time. He mentions
the Great Depression and uses the famous words, We have nothing to fear but fear itself. a
paraphrased line from John F. Kennedys inaugural address. The use of JFK s words gives
credibility to King by mentioning and remembering a popular past President. Another example of
King s use of ethos is in this quote, Somewhere I read of the freedom of assembly. Somewhere I
read of freedom of speech. Somewhere I read of the freedom of press. Somewhere I read that the
greatness of America is the right to protest for right. Martin Luther King Jr. says this because these
are all amendments in the Constitution that were not being applied to African Americans even

The Role Of The Greek Gods In The Iliad
What is meant to be will always find a way, this quote by the author Trisha Yearwood addresses
the matter of destiny and fate, which plays an extremely crucial role in Homer s respected poem,
the Iliad. The gods were a big part of the ancient Greeks lives, from influencing commoner s daily
lives to the king s most important decisions. The gods in ancient Greece, however, are not so
much like the God/ gods we believe in today. No matter which religion you think of, the God(s) are
always portrayed as all loving and all loving, which is not the case with the Greek gods in the Iliad.
Every Greek god seen in the Iliad showed emotions of the mortals and were evidently biased,
telling us that it was of great importance that the people were in favor of the gods. Throughout the
Iliad, we can see the role that the gods play in the citizens daily lives, individual fate, and the fate
of an entire kingdom.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As stated previously, the gods encountered in the Iliad showed many human like traits that are
extremely uncommon in gods today. The Greek gods had all kinds of emotions from anger to joy
to sexual desires, which often led them to come down from Mt. Olympus to make half god half
mortal babies. The main focus of the Iliad himself, Achilles, was the son of immortal Thetis and
mortal king Peleus. Helen, the most beautiful woman in Greece as described in the story, was also
half god born to Zeus and a mortal woman named Leda.In those days, it was not uncommon to see
a half immortal, they were treated with respect and were often the center of many heroic tales due

Horse Digestive System
Horses are part of a digestion group known as the hindgut fermenters. Another example of an
animal in this group is a rabbit. They are herbivores. Most of a horses diet contains; protein, fat,
carbohydrates, starch and fibre.
(Picture above: Horses skull. Equine dentist. No date)
When food such as grass or hay goes into the mouth the first stage is the teeth to grind down the
food. The molars (orange) at the back of the mouth are used for this. The incisors and canines
(blue) are used to clip food sources at the stem. While the horse is chewing the production of saliva
occurs. This aids the food going down the oesophagus but also helps start breaking down starch.
When the horse swallows a valve called the epiglottis blocks off the air ways so the horse doesn t
choke. The muscles in the oesophagus act much like a vein, ... Show more content on

This is a drawback as poisonous foods and objects will stay in the body until its either digested or
comes out faeces.
Once in the stomach (in the part called saccus ceacus) the food starts to be broken down. Pepsin
(an enzyme) breaks down proteins and hydrochloric acid to break down solid food. Food can
spend up to 15 minutes to 24 hours in the stomach, depending on the size of meal. Surprisingly the
stomach of a horse only takes up 10% of the digestive system. Because of how small it is the horse
must eat little and often.
After the food has gone through the stomach, it moves onto the small intestine. Food moves through
it between 30 minutes to an hour. It is made up of three parts. The Duodenum, Jejunum and the
Ileum. The Duodenum is the start of the small intestine. This is where bile, salts (from the liver)
and pancreatic enzymes are to start to break down carbohydrates, proteins and fats. Due to horses
not having a gall bladder the bile goes straight into the small intestine. The bile is important at
reducing the acid from the

The Issue Of Underage Drinking
The issue of underage drinking has been constant for many years. The law for the minimum
drinking age allows people 21 and older to legally drink alcoholic beverages. It is hard to enforce
this law especially on college campuses where lots of underage drinking takes place. Someone
that is 18 and older can get into some clubs where they are getting drinks even though they are
not supposed to. There is a level of responsibility they needs to be taken when people are
drinking. They should know how to handle themselves when alcohol is in their system.
Consuming too many alcoholic beverages can cause health issues, behavior issues, and have
other harmful effects on a person. The issues that come along with drinking alcohol will affect
teenagers and college students more than it would affect someone that is 21 or older. The
minimum drinking age law should remain at 21 to keep more young adults from encountering
issues associated with drinking. Young adults that are in the age range of 18 20 are more likely
to be more reckless than someone who is older and more mature. Adolescents hit the age of 18
and feel like they are grown and finally able to do what they want to do. Some have already
started drinking alcohol and will start to drink it more frequently. Having alcohol in their systems
will cause their behavior to change and could affect their rationale of thinking. Their senses will be
affected as well which causes more accidental injuries, altercations, and driving

Goldfish Synthesis Essay
Discussion Report The change in temperature was effective in altering the breathing rates of the
goldfish. As the temperature decrease from 20 degrees to 10 degrees, the average number of
respiration also decreased from 106 to 44 breaths per minutes. The null hypothesis, that the change
in temperature has no effect on the respiration per minute of a goldfish. The null hypothesis can be
rejected because of the temperature of the water as a direct effect on the respirations of a goldfish.
The results give support for an alternative hypothesis. A goldfish is an ectotherm which means the
fish s body temperature depends mainly on the environmental temperature (White and Campo

Such infrastructure includes a risk department overseen by the Firm s Chief Risk Officer (CRO) and

Credit Risk
Define:
Credit risk is defined by JPM as the risk of loss arising from the default of a customer, client or
counterparty (2014 annual report, pg. 110) . This fairly broad definition encompasses large
corporate clients, institutional clients and individual consumers. In addition, JPM identified that the
primary drivers of credit risk arise from (1) residential real estate, (2) credit card, (3) auto loans, (4)
business banking and (5) student lending businesses.
In order to further define the characteristics of credit risk, the firm uses methodologies such as (1)
a scored exposure rating, and (2) a risk exposure rating to estimate the likelihood of counterparty
default.
Scored Exposure
As securities are underwritten and issued to customers, they are transferred or essentially
securitized into a portfolio. Scored exposure is used a term that encompasses the scored portfolio
held in consumer and community banking (CCB). This portfolio predominantly includes
residential real estate loans, credit card loans, certain auto and business banking loans and
student loans (i.e., the loans issued by consumer bank Chase, as acquired by investment bank
JPM following the alleviation of the Glass Steagall Act). According to JPM, credit losses on their
CCB loans are measured based on statistical analysis of credit losses over discrete periods of time
and estimated using portfolio modeling, credit scoring, credit scores, and other risk factors .

Annotated Bibliography On The Midwifery
Midwifery in rural Ghana Across the enormous continent of Africa, there are a myriad of birth
practices, customs, and traditions. From spiritual ceremonies, consumption of certain fruits,
blessing ways to having supportive birthing assistants are some of the very common and important
customs from African countries, especially Ghana. One of the oldest and most widely recognized
customs is midwifery. Midwifery is the act of assisting women and their families before, during, and
after childbirth. Moreover, some midwives also perform abortions and aid in post abortion care
(Otsea et al., 1997). Midwifery includes aiding expectant mothers in labor, food preparation for
their families while the mother is recovering from labor, breastfeeding, emotional support for
new parents, postpartum care and child care. Midwives are also called traditional birth
assistants or TBAs (Nicholas et al., 1976). Midwifery has been practiced for hundreds of years
in Africa, especially Ghana. As a result of moderate technology improvements and medical
advancements, midwifery is not commonly practiced in more developed countries in Africa.
Everyone in Ghana do not engage in midwifery. However, in communal and small villages in
rural parts of Ghana midwifery is a well known and revered custom. In most northern rural areas
of Ghana, midwifery is preferred over modern birth practices. In the rural parts of Ghana, midwives
are loved and admired in their villages. Midwives are seen as the experts on

An Evaluation Of A Uk Public Limited Manufacturing Company
Introduction
This report is an evaluation provided to a finance director of a UK public limited manufacturing
company, whose subsidiaries are around the world. The company s stock is trading on the London
Stock Exchange. The report is going to provide some information about working capital
management (WCM).
It is commonly known that working capital investment has become a large proportion in a firm s
balance sheet. According to Bank of Belgium, the proportion of accounts receivable, payment and
inventory were respectively 17%, 13% and 10% of total assets of all Belgian nonfinancial firms in

On the other hand, firms may lose the early payment discount offered by its suppliers, which may
result in more finance costs (Wong, 2002).
Trade receivable: Trade receivable may boost sales because it allows customers to access product s
quality before paying. The flip side of trade receivable is that capital would be locked in working
capital, as a result the company s financial department may face cash flow and liquidity problems
(Jose, Lancaster and Stevens, 1996; Lazaridis and Tryfonidis, 2006).
Inventory: A larger inventory reduces the risk of stock out and it is also a vehicle to increase
sales. The negative side of inventory is the same as trade receivable (Nazir and Afza, 2009;
Deloof, 2003). Lazaridis and Tryfonidis (2006) states that an optimum level of inventory will have
a direct effect on profitability since it will release cash invested in working capital and could also
respond to a high demand.
The measurement of WC
Cash conversion cycle (CCC) is a widely used WC measurement, which is the time lag between
the raw material purchase and the collection of finished goods. The CCC can be calculated as:
The cash conversion cycle = Number of days accounts receivable + Number of days inventory
Number of days accounts payable payments. In real business operations, CCC as whole and each
parts of CCC could be used to measure the efficiency of WCM (Deloof, 2003; GarcГa Teruel and

Different Models Of Diagnosis And Treatment
Throughout the course of history, medical practitioners have utilized different models of diagnosis
and treatment which have encompassed a variety of factors. For instance, the biomedical model
was used for decades as the primary way to diagnose and treat illness; this model focused on effects
of anatomical, biochemical, and neurophysiological irregularities. However, since this model failed
to integrate the importance of the social, psychological, and behavioral components, the
biopsychosocial model was later adopted so that it could be consistent with the general system
theory, which states that systems affect one another, causing changes in one system to impact
others. Additionally, through the biopsychosocial model, there is a clear... Show more content on

Truth In Homer s The Penelopiad
When stories are told, no matter who the narrator is, their testimonies always differ from the truth.
We see this in eyewitness accounts of crimes where witnesses typically fail to accurately recall
events of the crime. Furthermore, we see this in stories, specifically, ones with first person
narration. In these stories, the limited knowledge of the narratorand their biases causes them to bend
the truthleaving readers questioning what the actual truth is. To find out the truth, multiple
perspectives are required before conclusions can be drawn. Author Margaret Atwood recognized
this flaw in Homer s Odyssey, which neglected to build upon characters such as Penelope,
ultimately prompting her to write The Penelopiad, a story about Penelope s... Show more content on

The novella is written from the perspective of Penelope, wife of Odysseus, as she narrates her
experiences during the events of The Iliad and The Odyssey. The narration she provides is
retrospective as reflects on her past life from the afterlife in an attempt to dispel the many
preconceived notions that exist about her and those closest to her. For example, in the first few
pages of the novella, Penelope openly questioned the legitimacy of Odysseus s own journey. She
tells the reader that, He [Odysseus] was always so plausible. Many people have believed that his
version of events was the true one... Even I believed him, from time to time. I knew he was
tricky and a liar. Hadn t I been faithful? (Atwood, 2). She is confused that, as a known liar, how

throughout her marriage, telling the reader that, The two of us were...proficient and shameless
liars of long standing. It was a wonder either of us believed a word the other said. But we did. Or
so we told each other (Atwood, 173). In The Odyssey, we see that Penelope depicted as an
incredibly loyal wife and nothing else; there is no depth to her character. The Penelopiad reveals
that she is cunning and deeply scarred emotionally as a character an aspect not explored by
Homer due to the insignificant role of women during ancient Greece. The telling of this story
from the perspective of Penelope serves to provide a viewpoint not explored in Homer s Odyssey
due to the patriarchal society of Greece. Atwood s use of the first person allowing a suppressed

on. Davaine found that in you inject a health animal with a small dose of the disease they won t

Pool Of Jerusalem Essay
Jerusalem was the center stage for the majority of the important events in the ministry of Jesus
Christ as documented in the Bible. One of the most notable miracles, as stated in the Gospel of
John, happened at the Pool of Siloam where Jesus cured a blind man. The pool was fed by the
water from the Gihon Spring, which is situated in the Kidron Valley. As such, the flowing water
from the spring allowed people to use the pool as a mikveh for ceremonial bathing. Also, it was
utilized as a vital source of the fresh water for the populations in that section of Jerusalem. Many
religious archaeologists searched for the site of this pool because it was believed its discovery

For that reason, the article enriches the information found in scriptures because it details the

Muckraking and the Progressive Movement
Progressivism is a movement that occurred at the turn of the 20th century, up until World War I.
The movement consisted of a wide variety of people and groups, all unified by the idea that a
basic change in economic principle was required to remedy the ills of the Western world. While
there was a wide divergence of adherents all referring to themselves as progressive, there were a
number of unifying ideals that cemented them all to this ideal. As such, a journalistic ideal
known as Muckraking created a media platform for promoting the ideas and ideals behind
Progressivism. According to Faragher et al. (2009, p. 559), there were three attitudes and two
sources of inspiration that bound Progressive thought to a central ideal. The first was a general
negative sentiment over excess in terms of industrial capitalism and urban growth created by
those in political and financial power. At the same time, there was also a basic optimism
regarding the ability of ordinary citizens to effect the changes perceived as necessary for a better
society in general. The second attitude was the view of society and economics from a viewpoint of
cohesion rather than individualism. The ills suffered on both platforms, according to
Progressivism, was the result of broken cohesion within society and between society and the
economic basis that should sustain it. Finally, the third attitude was the need for citizens to do all
they can to intervene for better circumstances and a better life for

theme as the setting is dark and gloomy, which falls under the gothic horror genre. Another
aspect which interprets the film as a part of the gothic horror genre is the use of setting. The
settings in this film are always gloomy and sad representing the theme of gothic horror. Using
the town of Sleepy Hollow for example, the town is always seen as a sad and gloomy town as the
shade and colour of the town is often a darker shade. Music is another effective technique used to
display the gothic horror genre in this film as it is always played in a low manner, usually
consisting of a base and violins. It creates the dark and gloomy sense of feeling which is common
in gothic horror films. The dark and deep music allows the sense of gothic horror to be created as it

A Raisin In The Sun Generation Gap Essay
From the beginning, Hansberry displays how the Younger family struggles with the generation gap
the problems that the older generation has in dealing with the younger generation and vice versa.
In Lorraine Hansberry s A Raisin in the Sun, family members Mama, Beneatha, Ruth, and Walter
voice their generational differences over religion, life goals, gender identity. These differences then
lead to disagreement and conflict among the family members. The first example is the difference
in religious beliefs of Mama and Beneatha. Mama, in her sixties, is conservative, family oriented,
and devoutly religious. She values religious piety and holds strong to a traditional Protestant belief
system. While Mama is faithful, Beneatha doesn t believe in... Show more content on

To start, Mama does not understand how Ruth and Walter can be so unappreciative and fail to
recognize what they do have versus what they do not have. Regarding Ruth and Walter s
generation, there seems to be an abundance of self perceived shame. They hold little pride in the
jobs they hold. Walter abhors his job as a chauffeur and takes little appreciation in the fact that
he has a job at all, as pointed out by Mama. Because of this miniscule amount of pride, they seem
to have difficulty being proud of anyone else. For example, they chastise Beneatha for going
after her dream of being a doctor instead of applauding her efforts. Mama understands the amount
of hard work it took to get the family where it is today, even if they are experiencing a rough
patch. Her husband and her parents wanted to create a better life for future generations. Mama
recognizes that this is a process that will take time. Unfortunately, they will not be immediately
gratified with the perfect life. Though wise, Mama is incapable of seeing the large toll the times
have taken on Ruth and Walter s generation that creates the high level of frustration. They are
working day in a day out and getting nowhere fast. Overall, this shows that her family is not
wealthy, and does not really have extraordinary ambitions to do something with their lives. On the

  • 2. A Study Done By Vrangalova ( 2015 ) Essay A study done by Vrangalova (2015) suggests that casual sex can form negative outcomes. In the study it suggests that the self esteem of women will decrease due to more negative outcomes when it comes to hooking up. While the men experience more positive outcomes of hooking up therefore their self esteem increases. In the current study the effects of hooking up and self esteembetween men and women will be tested using a survey that involves Rosenberg s Self Esteem Scale. A correlation method will help determine if the effects of hooking up amongst men and women are different, while the self esteem of men increase and the women s self esteem decrease. Effects of Hooking Up on Self Esteem amongst Men and Women When thinking back on your time in college what comes to mind? All the late nights you stayed up studying? How you were always stressed out and sleep deprived? The parties and the amount of alcohol consumed? Or that time you had a one night stand with someone you met at a party? Most of the events resemble a typical college experience, especially since research has found that hooking up is prevalent on college campuses more than ever. There has been studies conducted to determine if engaging in hook ups is harmful to one s self. There has been a few longitudinal studies that have shown hooking up has some positive effects, but more negative effects than positive. A study by Rosenthal, Moore, and Flynn (1991) found that males had higher ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Pablo Neruda Poem Analysis I want you to stop and think about tone in day to day conversations. It mostly depends on the body language, volume of voice, and pitch of the person speaking. Written poems, on the other hand, develop their tone through imagery, language use, and form. To show this, I will be using the poem Tonight I can write by analyzing how Pablo Neruda works with distant imagery, nostalgic past tense , and repetitive form to develop a grief filled tone. Through my analysis, I will be mentioning that the author generates loneliness in the persona. I expect the reader to agree that solitude is a state naturally feared and unwanted by humankind because of our undeniable biological drive to reproduce and survive, which requires the company of others. With that being said, I hope that we can assume loneliness is essentially connected to grief. The first way I noticed that Pablo Neruda uses form to establish a grief filled tone in his poem is by repetition, specifically, of the word night . The word is present through his entire work. Nights are linked to darkness, and darkness is neurologically linked to depression. In 2007, some neuroscientists at the University of Pennsylvania conducted a study with rats which concluded that light deprivation produces depression in rats. So it is scientifically correct to say that this repeated darkness adds to the grief filled tone. His first word in both the title and line 1 of the poem is Tonight (1) which derives from the word night. After this, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Julia Stewart Motivation Motivation Motivation is a great noun. This word has inspired some songs, recording artist Kelly Rolland wrote a song about how she wants to be someone s motivation. Each individual is motivated by different factors, money, power or love. Everybody exhibits various behaviors since everybody has differential reasons for behaving a certain way. Dan Coats believe that illegal children who immigrated unaccompanied should be deported due to the increasing numbers and how it promotes the dangerous journeys the children take to get to the United States. The line, In November 2013, I was privileged to lead a United States Conference of Catholic Bishops delegation traveling to Southern Mexico, El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras to examine and understand the flight of unaccompanied migrating children and youth... (p. 189) was used to build up his credibility since he has experience. Sietz also appeals to sympathy on different occasions. The first instance is when he states, Mr. Chairman I would like to share the stories of three children one from El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras to give the committee a sense of the reality of the violence they are fleeing: (p. 190). The simple thought of hearing these children s stories evokes emotions of sympathy. Another instance is his conclusion when he states, I ask you to consider the individual stories of these vulnerable child migrants and open your minds and hearts to their plight while seeking meaningful and long term regional solutions. I ask you to respond to the needs of these children not to turn them away or ostracize them as Americans are a compassionate people (pg. 193). The words vulnerable and plight as well as the line open your minds and heart evoke sympathy. Lastly, the line, As Americans are a compassionate people (p. 193) is borderline bandwagon because it could insinuate that if you disagree then you are not compassionate or American. After reading both sides of the arguments I found Dan Coats argument most biased because it contained the most propaganda. • 10. Zoroastrianism s Influence On The Formation Of Christianity Zoroastrianism was a huge influence on the formation of Christianity. There are multiple links between the two religions while Zoroastrianism pre dates Christianity by hundreds of years. The evidence found through archaeological discovery and from the beliefs of present day Zoroastrianists points to one conclusion: that although Christianityand Zoroastrianism are seen as two very different religions, their cosmologies are so intertwined that is hard to tell which came first until looking at the physical evidence. The core beliefs are similar and how each religion predicts what will happen at the end of time are, as well. For some Christians, it hard to look at the evidence without it shaking their beliefs, but by taking an outsider s perspective, one can begin see that religions are evolving throughout the millennia. Three main topics arise when comparing the two religions: the creation story, the story of the savior, and the revelation story. The relationships between these two religions shows that religions may not only be divinely inspired, but also inspired from past religions. This gives people the idea that faith evolves through the ages to better suit the current culture or state of society. Life On The Home Front During World War II Mahmudul Rapi 841 Life on the Home Front During World War II During the 1930s. the United States faced one of the greatest economic depressions in history, known as the Great Depression. Since many people essentially manipulated the stock market to their advantage, they eventually got richer. However, on October 29,1929, the stock market crashed since so many people wanted to sell their stocks but so few people wanted to buy these products, which caused prices to collapse. This led up to issues such as banking crisis, where banks who invested so heavily on the stock market lost so much money. In fact, people who deposited money lose everything they had. In addition, factories that has overproduced goods had also lost tons of money since businesses were producing far more goods than people were consuming. All these events that led to the Great Depression. Although Franklin D. Roosevelt came into office in 1933 and released his plans known as the New Deal which were essentially government programs that provided aid to Americans, it did not change the fact that the economy was still largely suffering. Meanwhile, tensions in Europe also increased as European countries were devastated from the hard times occurring in their nation. Raskol is a word meaning schism and it is fitting when applied to the boundary Raskolnikov straddles. Staying on one side or crossing over to the other is a key binary opposition in this chapter. Crossing over is akin to realizing the incomprehensible and that is heroic. Good and evil are abstract terms with superfluous meanings to the superman that are replaced with the all important word justice . The superman goes beyond good and evil by being morally skeptical of the adoptive constraints placed on the ordinary people. Albeit, this comes with a caveat as Raskolnikov tirelessly tries in vain to subjugate his conscience and love as well as contempt for people threatens his identity. As working with a group on this project, I have gained experiences in teamwork, communication, and exploration. Before we went to conduct the survey, I was kind of afraid to go shopping there alone. I thought this neighborhood is dangerous and was not safe for a girl to shopping there alone. However, after exploring the neighborhood Family Dollar store, my negative thoughts of this neighborhood were completely changed. The location of this Family Dollar store is across from Dollar General and about half a mile from this Family Dollar store, there is Albertson supermarket. I also noticed there was a city bus stop nearby this Family Dollar store. I found this location as convenient for the residents and access to public transportation is another factor that gives people transportation options to get to work and shopping. There were plenty of parking spaces available for customers including accessible handicap parking spaces in front of the store and near the store entrance. The store environment was clean, but I did not notice whether the trash bin was placed in front of the store or not. I arrived there a little bit early around 8:50 am and I saw a few customers walked in the store ten minutes earlier than store open hour. It was kind of a surprise to see it because I did not expect the store would allow the customer to walk into the store before the open hour. Unfortunately, our group member Kayla could not join us for this survey. The rest our group members met in the parking on the survey day. But these are merely pieces of the puzzle, by connecting them together we will see the full picture. First, the sovereigntists see Quebec as a distinct society, which is distinct in its own right due to its distinct culture and institutions. But as history has shown them, the Canadian federation has undermined Quebecand its distinctness. The sovereigntists see this as setting Quebec on a path of continued subjugation under Canadian federalism. Desiring to change the situation they are left with two options, either be recognized and gain autonomy over there culture, or separate from the union and gain autonomy in this way. Canadathen is a subjugator of Quebec and is different from Quebec do having different culture and institutions. Furthermore, Canada refuses to recognize this difference. Following from before then, Quebec must leave the union or continued to be subjugated. Summary Of IVe Been To The Mountaintop The day before Martin Luther King Jr s assassination, MLK Jr. spoke at Mason Temple in Memphis, Tennessee on April 3, 1968 about the Memphis Sanitation Strike. The intention of the speech I ve Been to the Mountaintop was to convince other African Americans to band together and support the sanitation workers after two black, garbage collectors died in an accident. The deaths caused others to realize the unequal treatment of blacks and whites in the workplace. MLK uses ethos, pathos, and logos to persuade fellow African Americans to band together in a nonviolent movement for the equalization between races. Ethos is an appeal to ethics in writing to convince the audience of the speaker s character. In the start of the speech, King tells about a hypothetical journey through the ages of time. He mentions the Great Depression and uses the famous words, We have nothing to fear but fear itself. a paraphrased line from John F. Kennedys inaugural address. The use of JFK s words gives credibility to King by mentioning and remembering a popular past President. Another example of King s use of ethos is in this quote, Somewhere I read of the freedom of assembly. Somewhere I read of freedom of speech. Somewhere I read of the freedom of press. The Role Of The Greek Gods In The Iliad What is meant to be will always find a way, this quote by the author Trisha Yearwood addresses the matter of destiny and fate, which plays an extremely crucial role in Homer s respected poem, the Iliad. The gods were a big part of the ancient Greeks lives, from influencing commoner s daily lives to the king s most important decisions. The gods in ancient Greece, however, are not so much like the God/ gods we believe in today. No matter which religion you think of, the God(s) are always portrayed as all loving and all loving, which is not the case with the Greek gods in the Iliad. Every Greek god seen in the Iliad showed emotions of the mortals and were evidently biased, telling us that it was of great importance that the people were in favor of the gods. Throughout the Iliad, we can see the role that the gods play in the citizens daily lives, individual fate, and the fate of an entire kingdom.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The law for the minimum drinking age allows people 21 and older to legally drink alcoholic beverages. It is hard to enforce this law especially on college campuses where lots of underage drinking takes place. Someone that is 18 and older can get into some clubs where they are getting drinks even though they are not supposed to. There is a level of responsibility they needs to be taken when people are drinking. They should know how to handle themselves when alcohol is in their system. Consuming too many alcoholic beverages can cause health issues, behavior issues, and have other harmful effects on a person. The issues that come along with drinking alcohol will affect teenagers and college students more than it would affect someone that is 21 or older. The minimum drinking age law should remain at 21 to keep more young adults from encountering issues associated with drinking. Young adults that are in the age range of 18 20 are more likely to be more reckless than someone who is older and more mature. Adolescents hit the age of 18 and feel like they are grown and finally able to do what they want to do. Some have already started drinking alcohol and will start to drink it more frequently. From spiritual ceremonies, consumption of certain fruits, blessing ways to having supportive birthing assistants are some of the very common and important customs from African countries, especially Ghana. One of the oldest and most widely recognized customs is midwifery. Midwifery is the act of assisting women and their families before, during, and after childbirth. Moreover, some midwives also perform abortions and aid in post abortion care (Otsea et al., 1997). Midwifery includes aiding expectant mothers in labor, food preparation for their families while the mother is recovering from labor, breastfeeding, emotional support for new parents, postpartum care and child care. Midwives are also called traditional birth assistants or TBAs (Nicholas et al., 1976). Midwifery has been practiced for hundreds of years in Africa, especially Ghana. The flip side of trade receivable is that capital would be locked in working capital, as a result the company s financial department may face cash flow and liquidity problems (Jose, Lancaster and Stevens, 1996; Lazaridis and Tryfonidis, 2006). Inventory: A larger inventory reduces the risk of stock out and it is also a vehicle to increase sales. The negative side of inventory is the same as trade receivable (Nazir and Afza, 2009; Deloof, 2003). Lazaridis and Tryfonidis (2006) states that an optimum level of inventory will have a direct effect on profitability since it will release cash invested in working capital and could also respond to a high demand. The movement consisted of a wide variety of people and groups, all unified by the idea that a basic change in economic principle was required to remedy the ills of the Western world. While there was a wide divergence of adherents all referring to themselves as progressive, there were a number of unifying ideals that cemented them all to this ideal. The first was a general negative sentiment over excess in terms of industrial capitalism and urban growth created by those in political and financial power. At the same time, there was also a basic optimism regarding the ability of ordinary citizens to effect the changes perceived as necessary for a better society in general. The second attitude was the view of society and economics from a viewpoint of cohesion rather than individualism.
