I kind of just absorbed...but did not really understand because no one really took the time to explain
the situation to young children when I was young. I also really do not remember learning much about

In The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton, there are many important themes, including recognizing the

class. Through these challenges, they learned the importance of family and friends and had to make
mature decisions. By the end of the novel, Ponyboy especially, had grown up staggeringly. Although
Ponyboy has dealt with problems in his family and because of his low social class he matured

Buddhism is the largest religioncultural influence in its own way. Buddhism is becoming popular and
well known in the western parts of the world. Hinduism and Buddhism share the same teaching of
karma.They both teach about the cause and effect that karma leaves on one s life. Buddhism s main
goal is to find enlightment. Siddhartha Gautama is the founder of Buddhism. He was born around 600
B.C. to a powerful family in India. He had a comfortable homewith very little experience of the
outside world. He was sheild from many outside influences such as pain, religion and suffering. He
discovered enlightment in the middle way. He discovered the Four Noble Truths : to live is to suffer
(Dukha), suffering is caused by desire (Tanha, or attachment), one can eliminate suffering by
eliminating all attachments. This is attained by following the noble eightfold path. The eightfold path
consists of having a right view, speech, action, livelihood, effort , and mindfulness. The individual
teachings are common to Hinduism. karma, Maya, and a tendency to understand reality as being
pantheistic in its placment. Buddhism today is real diverse. It is divided into the two broad categories
Of Theravada and Mahayana. Theravada is a form which reserves ultimate enlightenment and nirvana.
Mahayana Buddhism extends this goal of enlightenment. Buddha never considered himself to be a god

The National League for Nursing (NLN), founded in 1893, was the first nursing organization in the

organization has over 40,000 members with dedication to research, professional development,

Mission Goals of the Association The NLN states their mission as follows: The National League for
Nursing promotes excellence in nursing education to build a strong and diverse nursing workforce to

outline NLN s mission statement. The first is to be leaders in nursing education by developing a strong
