John Freyer
The all my life for sale, online project by John Freyer is a unique idea that I found very intrigued.
Freyer sold everything he owned, from his personal photographs to his false teeth on Ebay. After he
had sold everything, he determined to take on a journey and visit each item that he sold at their new
home. As I viewed some of the items he had sold, a particular item caught my attention; the T 4 super
camera and 50 photographs. As technology advances, newer cameras become better in quality so,
eventually, the T 4 Super is going to be an antique camera. Initially, I search the T 4 Super on Ebay,
and luckily I was able to find an exact camera like the one Freyer had sold. The seller on Ebay uses
subjective description to describe the item; the seller states, Camera is in very good condition, clean,
and is working. As I review the camera myself, the seller is honest that the camera is clean, but I do
see some minor scratches since it s a used camera. On the other hand, Freyer also uses subject
description because he doesn t mention the condition of the camera. He focused more on how he used
his camera, which was, I have taken pictures with this camera in nearly every state in the country, in
Sweden, Norway, Canada, and nearly into Mexico. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As for Freyer, he also used a single image to imagine the shaping of his story, and he described the
item as, It is small enough to fit in a pocket, and has a Carl Ziess lens gives it a more visual to the
buyer. Both sellers were trying to reach out adventurous photographers, who love the outdoors or
enjoy traveling. For example, the seller on Ebay said, It s a great camera to pack for a hike, bring
around at a party, or shoot events and portraits! As for Freyer, he took the camera everywhere he went
and said, I have taken thousands of photographs with

Analysis Of Simone De Beauvoir s The Second Sex
The first text we explore in this step is Bonaventure s On Seeing God in his Image . Bonaventure
shows us that through inward reflection we can see God. God can then lead us to God s two most
important laws, and the best ways for us to live in community with others; by loving God, and our
neighbors. The next text is from the 2nd Vatican Council called Pastoral Constitution, which focused
on bringing the church into modern times. This text focuses on the importance of helping those being
marginalized, those who are on the brink of society, and what is the best way that the Church as a
community can fight to protect them. The following text comes from Simone de Beauvoir called The
Second Sex, which discusses the ideas of the feminist ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One major link includes the fight between an oppressed group and their persecutors. Whether it s the
proletariat and the bourgeois in The Communist Manifesto, or the inequality of genders in The Second
Sex, or the flight of the African Americans in the Letter from Birmingham Jail . In all of these texts we
are shown how easy it is for one group to abuse their power and create unfair rules and regulations
only imposed on the more inferior members of society. Each group of oppressor thrives off of
alienating, and subjugating their inferiors. So it seems the theme of solidarity is the only way to
combat this linkage of oppression. In all of the texts we are shown that through solidarity comes
freedom. We see in Bonaventure, and Vatican Council II that all God wants for God s people is
inclusion, and to fight for the rights of the others of the world. In the more secular texts from King, de
Beauvoir, and Marx and Engels, we see the same ideas. The only way to fight prejudice is to unite the
people of either side of the problem, and have them work together to make the whole of society a
more inclusive place. By uniting together to fight oppression we overcome the trivialities that separate
seemingly opposing groups. The next theme contingent throughout the step is the benefits of
community. This is similar to the inclusiveness that comes from solidarity, but through community we
can prevent oppression from happening

System Design Failures Of Vlsi Circuits
SYSTEM DESIGN FAILURES
Introduction:
Simulation in VLSI circuits are used to evaluate codes that are used in certain applications to improve
the integration process and in the Printed Circuit Board Fabrication process. Simulation is done to
determine the fault in the process. It has great role in Printed Circuit Board fabrication. In VLSI
Testing simulations are classified mainly into Exhaustive Simulation and Non Exhaustive Simulation.
[1]
Exhaustive Simulation: This process that involves applying all possible inputs to the circuit under test
(CUT) by simulating them and checking to see if the output responses are identical for every input.
The major drawback with this process is the number of test patterns. [2]
Non Exhaustive Simulation: This process involves deterministic compact and pseudo random test sets.
This will test the circuit within acceptable time and cost. This reduced test set may be based upon fault
models, particularly the stuck at model. However, it is often required to estimate how effective is this
non exhaustive test set is in detecting possible faults in the circuit under test (CUT). Example: SRT
Algorithm. [3]

The Purpose Of The Athenian Army
Part 3
1) The Athenian Army
The purpose of the Athenian army was to was to secure Athenian democratic society. The army fought
battles against other Greek states and foreign states most often against oligarchies and aristocracies.
The army was managed by a polemarch (senior military title), along with ten generals from the ten
tribes of Athens.
The largest component of the army was the infantry composed of hoplites (citizens fighting in a full
set of armour). They went into battle protected by a helmet, breastplate, and greaves (shin guards),
carrying a large round shield and long spear. The state would sometimes issue such equipment to
citizens who could not afford a set of their own.
The Athenian army was primarily male citizens, who were made to enlist at the beginning of the year
following their 18th birthdays. For two years, new cadets (known as ephebes) trained full time. After
training, they rejoined public life, though they were committed to the army for 40 years. At any time,
they could be called to duty to defend Athens. The people elect two athletic trainers and instructors for
them, to teach them their drill as heavy armed soldiers and to use the bow, javelin, and sling.
Richer Athenians enrolled in the cavalry, as always, a smaller elite military force made up of those
wealthy enough to own and maintain a good mount. The state would call upon an inspection and
registration of all of the horses on an annual basis, so that the owner could draw a maintenance

Nicolaus Copernicus Research Paper
Nicolaus Copernicus was an astronomer who believed the Sun was at the center of the universe
and that the Earth revolved around it. Copernicus was born on February 19th, 1473. He was the son of
Nicolaus Copernicus who was a merchant, and Barbara Watzenrode who was the daughter of a
merchant
family. After his father died in 1483, he was taken in by his uncle. Copernicus later enrolled in the
University of Cracow and assumed an administrative position just below that of bishop. Copernicus
then
went to the University of Bologna in 1496 to study canon law. Here he lived with an astronomy
professor
named Domenico Maria Novara and he also made his first astronomical observations here. In 1501 he
went to the University of Pauda where ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He moved to Frombork in 1510 and stayed there the
rest of his life. Here he wrote the Commentariolus that shared his new cosmological idea about a
heliocentric universe. He was also working on On the Revolutions. He never saw On the Revolutions
published until he was on his deathbed and died on May 24th, 1543.
The current idea that people believed in at the time was the geocentric model. The geocentric
model showed the Earth being the center of the universe and the rest of the planets revolving around
it.
This idea was introduced by Ptolemy to explain how the planets moved. However, the geocentric
model
did not follow Aristotle s requirement for the uniform circular motion of planets. Copernicus then
thought
he could follow this requirement by using a heliocentric model of the universe where the distances of
the
planets from the sun had a direct relationship to their orbit size.
His information, however, did not completely invalidate the geocentric model. The contributions
of other astronomers hundreds of years later eventually provided enough information to prove the
Fortner 2
geocentric model wrong. Galileo, by using a telescope, observed that Venus and Mercury went

Why Great Men Do Not Become President Essay
Why Great Men Do Not Become President
Over the course of history America has been electing the most popular not necessarily the best
qualified men as president. The office has become a strategic component vital to each political party.
Parties sacrifice a great leader for the man that will win the most votes. History is a record of how we
have always had had this practice. The office is full of corruption because money and influence run
the presidency. The political leaders lie to the people that he is intended to serve.
There are many overwhelming reasons that the best man is not always chosen for the job. They all
inevitably stem down to the simple fact that a political party in order for its survival must have their ...

Location, religion, and political goals for the people are the most common deciding factors. Some of
the other techniques were more obvious in an example of serving in the Union Army greatly increased
your chances at becoming president. Simply being a Union soldier should not be a major factor in
determining a great leader but in the court of public opinion it is kind of prerequisite in the elections
after the Civil War.
The term giving for this was Waving the bloody shirt. Grant was elected after Civil War because of his
role as the leading general of Union forces.
Towards the end of an election, presidential candidates become more of a brand name then a person.
In the most recent election, Bush and Gore both put on equally entertaining shows. While watching a
HBO documentary I was able to get a glimpse that majority of Americans never get to see. It was the
truth behind the man that is the president. The independent documentary shows Bush running down
the street choreographed with news crews to run at the right pace, then turns the corner and gets into a
waiting Lincoln navigator. This is to help his image. People do not want to elect an out of shape
president. Physical ability is something on the minds of all
Americans. Seeing the candidate take a jog down the street helps them secure the image of fitness
with the candidate making it more likely people with the same views will vote for him.
The colorful posters sporting the slogan like Vote

The Crime Control Model Of The Ryan Ferguson Essay
In a perfect world every person s rights would never be compromised, within a society that is free of
crime. Everyone would be equal and treated fairly. Unfortunately this is not the case, our system was
created to serve and to protect the lives and rights of every American. Although, the scary reality is
that not everyone s rights are always protected and some are even wrongfully convicted of crimes he
or she is innocent of. This is an unnerving concept that seems like a plot to a popular crime fighting
show. Sadly, this possibility was a reality for a man named Ryan Ferguson. Three key factors of the
Ryan Ferguson case are: the Crime Control Model, the role of evidence, and the role of Appellate
courts.
The Crime Control Model demonstrates a specific viewpoint of prevention and deterrence of crime
which means, the most important function of the criminal justice process to punish and repress
criminal conduct, (Gaines, Kaune, and LeRoy,17). This means that a person who aliens with this
model, will ensure someone gets charged for the crime committed. If more and more criminals are
taken off of the streets, the justice system ultimately is successful in protecting it s society members. A
known criminal could be convicted of a crime that he or she did not commit, but according to this
model, as long as criminals are getting punished and removed the system is doing its job. In the Ryan
Ferguson case, it is clear that Prosecutor Crain aligned with the Crime Control model.

Rousseau and Duty to the State Essay
It is generally agreed that the great philosopher Jean Jacques Rousseau and the artist Jacques Louis
David had played a great role in serving and supporting the French Revolution, in addition to,
showing their devotion to their state and explore the notion of duty to the state each one by his own
special way.
The great philosopher Jean Jacques Rousseau had inspired the revolution by his argument and ideas
that was based on Reason. He played a great role in exploring the notion of duty to the state by
providing the public with his argument in the social contract, which was frequently quoted and referred
to during the early stages of the Revolution.

Hence, whenever the individuals follow the state s order and be aware of his duty to the state, then he

But Rousseau s system has a remarkable problem .He insures that the will of each person always
coincide with the will of the state either voluntary or by force and this inclined to be autocratic
solution and against democracy .He neglects the minorities views and forces them to obey the general
will. in another word, they had to suppress their views and follow the majorities, whether they are
convinced with it or not. He justifies that, by doing so, you are forcing them to be free and this is for
their benefit at the end.
Regarding Jacques Louis David, who was the official painter of the French revolution and later
Napoleon .He tried to express his devotion to the state through out his paintings, which was exhibited
at the saloon in order to be seen by the public. He believed in the significance and value of the art in
conveying messages in order to inspire the public, especially during a critical circumstance like the
revolution. As an official painter of the revolution, he tried to express his devotion to the state by
painting pictures; each element of his paintings tends to convey messages about duty to the state.

Narrative Therapy Essay
Introduction Often times, people live through painful events in their life that can alter their perception
of themselves, their family, and the world. Narrative therapy offers the client the opportunity to re
write their story and gain a different perspective of specific events. It is important to understand that
within the history of narrative therapy, therapists view client s stories through a political lens. Often
times, focusing on the oppression and cultural dominance that exists within the constructs of our
society. Thus, empowering clients to change their story allows them to break free from the constraints
that have shaped their outlook and allow for alternative ways of thinking.
Background of Narrative Therapy According to Atkinson Leslie (2011), narrative therapy is a
postmodern approach, which holds the client as the center of their own perceptions and results in their
personal actions and beliefs. The therapist is there to assist the author (client) in re writing or
developing new stories so that change can occur. This allows the family to create new roles and
understanding of themselves and their family, by creating a new story. Michael White was the pioneer
of narrative therapy and along with David Epston s approach to storytelling and therapeutic letters
they were able to develop this approach. Michael White s wife, Cheryl White, was also instrumental in
assisting these men in the development and publication of their works. Their work was made

The Theme Of Fate In I Am Mordred
Fate in I Am Mordred
The idea that fate is inevitable manifests itself throughout the Arthurian legend I am Mordred. Fate s a
predestined fortune that is supposedly inevitable. (fate) The question of changing fate prevails as an
underlying theme in the book. Characters lives and choices revolve around the idea of their
predetermined destiny. It proves difficult to decide whether fate is escapable or not.
From the beginning of the book Mordred s fate plays a key factor in characters actions. The king s
advisor Merlin prophesied Mordred to kill his father, King Arthur, when he reaches the age of
seventeen. When the prologue starts King Arthur s sacrificing all the male babies in the kingdom who
were born on May Day, including Mordred. This will supposedly change the fate prophesized for them
according to his advisor Merlin. But Merlin had spoken: Let all male babies of the nobility born on
May Day be brought to the shore. That was the sort of thing that happened when the King did wrong
(Springer Vii). King Arthur thought by doing this he had managed to avoid his predestined doom. As
soon as chapter one starts, it reveals one baby out of the forty brought to sea managed to survive. That
one baby was King Arthur s son, Mordred. He was saved by a couple who lived by the sea. They raise
him as their own and he becomes a part of their fisher family. At this point Mordred has not managed
to escape his fate and King Arthur hasn t either.

Raskolnikov Suffering
One theme of Christianity is that redemption is achieved through suffering. Jesus himself believed in
the method and even told Saint Faustina that she could save more souls through prayer and suffering
than will a missionary through his teachings and sermons alone (Diary 1767). Evidently, the idea of
redemptive suffering worked its way strongly into his novel Crime and Punishment. The protagonist,
Rodion Romanovich Raskolnikov, was an impoverished former student who lived in St. Petersburg.
Raskolnikov believed that he could make the world a better place by murdering a crooked pawnbroker
and taking her money to help the needy; Raskolnikov ends up murdering the pawnbroker as well as
her innocent sister. Through Raskolnikov and Katerina s journey to redemption Dostoevsky is able to
convey that redemption is possible but only through a great amount of suffering. Directly after

Jury Trial Advantages
Introduction:
Juries form an important part of our legal system and are made up of ordinary people from our
community. A jury trial is a legal proceeding in which a jury, made up of twelve individuals, makes a
decision that then directs the actions of a judge. A jury is randomly chosen from a list of voter
registrations and driver licence ID renewals. Once the jury is chosen they participate in both criminal
trials and civil trials. In criminal trials the jury hears evidence and makes a decision as to whether the
person is guilty or innocent. Civil trials that need juries are usually defamation proceedings. But are
twelve heads better than one? During this report, I will critically analyse and evaluate the two
conflicting viewpoints contained in the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This can be seen as one of the advantages to a jury trial. Another advantage, is that the decision is
made by twelve people rather than just a judge. A jury trial may not always be the best choice though;
there are many disadvantages to a jury trial. A jury trial, may consist of people such as, construction
workers or stay at home mums and therefore, they may not be able to understand complex laws and
forensic evidence. This is one of the biggest disadvantages to having a jury trial. Another disadvantage
is that every juror has their own personal beliefs that can affect their decision. For example, someone
who comes to court not well dressed may already be considered guilty in jurors that hold appearance
in high regard. The jury system itself has many problems and issues. For example, some trials can last
for days or even months and therefore the jury must remain an audience for the entire duration
listening to arguments and evidence. Sometimes it becomes too long for them. Katrina Blowers, a
journalist working for ABC news, has often seen jurors falling asleep on the job, others distracted by

It is believed that a species has many family or in other word, kind or tribe. As for shark, there are
many kinds or type of shark which has slightly distinguished the species. Researchers believed that
different kind of shark has different kind of characteristics and behaviours. There are so many species
of sharks in the oceans around the world. Some of them are big in size while others can be quite small
and some of them are to be feared while some others just minding their own business. It is surprised to
know that some of the largest species of sharks in the ocean are the nicest ones to encounter.
Great White Shark is the biggest of all the deadliest and dangerous sharks. It is also the most popular
shark among the people as it always appears in movies and documentaries. These kinds of sharks are
torpedo shaped, knife like tails and a pair of fins. There have been reports of the Great Whites
weighing in at over 7000 lbs and exceed 20 feet in length. Male and female great white sharks grow at
different rates as the males become adults in about nine years while the female great white sharks
grow larger than males and they took about 13 to 15 years to be adults. Actually the Great White
Shark has a white pearl colour on its belly and the top of its body is actually a gray or blue in colour

Who Is Xerxes As A Prophet
The goddess of nature named Aura, who created light and darkness as a balance. As darkness eroded
over light, evil, pain and suffering inhabited the world along with humans and creatures such as giant
spiders and lizards in which it represents fear. The goddess realized that this isn t what was planned.
The war between the goddess and the creatures who upset the equilibrium between light and darkness.
As the goddess began to balance light and darkness, she traps the excess darkness into a sacred

The major part of keeping the group intact is food, home, clothes, and pond to shower in. All of this
was during the Tadeas era and things changed to adapt to the contemporary times. In contemporary
times, the institution is set in Greece but replicated in a different location with the replicated diamond.
In fact, in 1955, there was a leader named Lucius Caelum who was considered as a prophet because he
claimed that the goddess bequeaths him the ability to detect excess darkness or light in people. As he
convinced people into believing his claim, more people began to join Diamantism and conform to
Lucius. Charisma is extremely especially for Lucius because without charisma, how is he able to
recruit more members into the religion to maintain its integrity. From there, Lucius began managing
and constructing the institution with his view on Diamantism. He provides homes and food for people
to stay in the group so they won t be in contact with people in the outside world. One thing that was
different compared to the institution during Tadeas s era is that despite there not being any electricity
available, the community is livable and is mostly an area to worship the diamond and learn about the
religion of Diamantism.
In socialization, there was a school specifically for the members of Diamantism to teach them the
creation myth, how to please goddess Aura by worshipping the sacred diamond by using the religious

Summary Of Drifters By Bruce Dawe
Power is a complex multifaceted notion and people can experience or wield it in different ways. It can
have negative connotations, especially when it is abused. People of course can also experience a sense
of powerlessness for a variety of reasons. The poem Drifters by Bruce Dawe explores the helplessness
of a family who are forced to move from place to place in search of work. This causes great distress
and angst among the family. A sense of powerlessness of course can come in many forms and in the
poem Mid Term Break by Seamus Heaney we witness the extraordinary grief and anguish of a family
who are mourning the death of a son and brother. The film The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas, directed
by Mark Herman, explores the sense of powerlessness ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The close up shot of Bruno shown here gives the audience an idea of how the young boy is feeling, as
we see from the eyes full of emotion and wonder that he has never seen something like this farm and
judging by his young personality we have been presented to beforehand, we know he will want to
investigate further. Bruno is like the younger sister in the poem, as he is young and naïve, always
moving and excited with everything in life, always ready for another adventure and eager to see new
things, and he is never scared to take part in everything. However, because of the ominous music
playing softly in the background, we are introduced to the idea that this place, although it looks small
from a distance and not unsafe, there is something very wrong with the peculiar buildings beyond the
trees. The image of the concentration camp is shown from a long shot, giving us perspective as to
what Bruno is seeing, and how from a distance it looks isolated and

Cathedral
Cathedral There are many themes in the short story Cathedral, some of them include the Cathedral
itself and the difference between looking at something and really seeing something. Throughout the
short story you see how people have different personalities and see how fast a person can change. The
Cathedral and the audiotapes mean much more to both main characters than just an object or a
building.
In the beginning of the story the narrator is completely disgusted at the thought of a blind man being
in his house because of all the false things he s heard about people who can t see. Peoples perceptions

This short story helps make people understand that there is always more to the world than you know
and there is always more to learn. Imagine if a complete stranger came into your life and changed all
your views on the world and had you rethink the way you ve been living your entire life. You, too,
would want to keep your eyes closed.
This theme is important because people go their entire lives looking but not really seeing. In the
beginning of the story, the blind man asks to see the wife s face, (blind peoples) sense of touch is no
keener than the average person s, but the more frequent use of touch enables them to more quickly and
efficiently analyze the things they touch (Bowles). As humans, we overlook the small things and
concentrate on the big and in doing so, we fail to realize that the little things are sometimes the hugely
important factors in life. This can also go along with not judging people right away; do not judge a
book by it s cover. Nowhere in the story does it describe how the narrator felt after the blind man drew
a Cathedral with him, but you can tell by the words he used that he had never felt more alive. He felt
like he was in an empty world and opening his eyes would only remind him of the nothingness he s
been living. The narrator says many things that makes it obvious that he is fully capable or looking but
that he does not see any solution to fixing his life. He is leading a boring life he hates with no

Positive And Negative Effects Of Gender Stereotyping
Throughout society there are many different cultural and social perceptions that allow people to form
judgmental beliefs about society. Encompassed within these perceptions are stereotypes and prejudice.
Stereotypes and prejudice are examples of categorizations of people which allow our brains to fill in
the types or interactions that may happen with people. There are different positive and negative forms
of stereo types and prejudice that effect our interaction with individuals resulting in judgmental
affliction upon individuals or groups. This essay will analyze and provide examples of the positive and
negative effects of gender stereotyping and prejudice. Stereotyping can come in many different forms
and have many different subjects. One form of stereotyping is of gender. Just about everyone holds
stereotypes of women and men some positive and some negative. Women are more empathic and
talkative; men are more competent and aggressive. For example, are women really more empathic
than men? Which women? Empathic toward whom? When women s and men s actual behavior is
observed systematically under a variety of conditions, the sexes do not differ in having feelings of
empathy or in its expression (book, p. 365). Social pressures influence how we conform to these
stereotypes, however it does create a problem when people are victimized by the negative stereotypes
of their gender or group. There are different connotations that can be identified when stereotyping:
positive, women are better caregivers and men are better breadwinners or money makers. These
positive connotations can be taken negative towards the other gender or even their own gender men
can be caretakers too and women can make money. In the early 1900 s there was a high discrimination
towards women, women entering the work force worked in factory lines, while men worked
management which resulted in lower pay for women kept the men in charge. Over the years gender
roles have taken a turn and there is now a significant increase with women working and taking on
management roles. Roles in society are different between genders and those differences either positive
or negative will hopefully diminish after time.

Argumentative Essay On Civil Rights
Personally, I believe it is difficult to place ourselves in the shoes of the senators that were faced with
these decisions. Looking back at these speeches now, I can truly see the hard work and mental strain
that these men went through in order to place this bill. When using these speeches as historical
sources, I think we should consider several things. The time period in which they were given, the
position each Senator stood for, and the general purpose behind it. For example, when looking at most
filibusters we would not consider them as credible sources mostly because they are used to drag out
the debate and exhaust their opponents by simply reading from the newspaper or telephone book.

How Far Did Climates of 7th Century Arabia Contribute to...
The religious, social, political and economical climates of seventh century Arabia, also known as pre
Islamic Arabia, contributed immensely to the emergence of Islam.
Religious climates were one of the causes of the emergence of Islam.
At the time in the seventh century of Arabia, people lived in the days of ignorance, known as
Jahiliyah. During this period of time, people of Arabia worshipped idols and Arabia was considered a
God less region.
Before the time of Jahiliyah, a group of people, al Hanafiyyeen, followed the monotheistic teachings
of Abraham (Ibrahim). He alleged faith in one universal God, but after his death, Arabs returned to the
polytheistic society.

The orthodox Christians originated in the Byzantine Empire ruled by the Romans, and Western parts
of Europe. They believed that Jesus was God and man at the same time.
The Nestorians originated in Hira, East of Arabia, and in the Sassanian Empire. They believed that

The Monophysites originated in Egypt, Syria and were part of the tribes of North and South of Arabia.
They believed that Jesus was god and only appeared as man.
There was also a monotheistic religion called Zoroastrianism, of whom the people originated in Iran

In Abyssinia, there were two groups of people. One, the falashes, who were Jews, and two, the people
of Negus the Christian king.
It would have been impossible for people of Arabia to be unaware of all these different type of

People of Arabia believed that the Ka bah was a shrine where pilgrims gathered to perform the

Robots Before The Industrial Revolution
Before the Industrial Revolution workers had to manufacture goods with their hands. When the
Industrial Revolution started machines began doing jobs that humans did. Firearms used to be made
by hand and each was unique so they could not easily be fixed. Interchangeable parts were first used
in the firearm industry when French gunsmith Honore promoted idea of using standardized gun parts.
Car manufactures also started using assembly robots. In 1901 Ransom Olds made and patented a
assembly line which increased his company s output by 500 percent in one year. This lead to lower
prices for vehicles. In 1961 General Motors installed their own robot arm to help with the assembly

Bondage of the Will
Martin Luther considered by many to be a great theologian makes very strong arguments against
Eramus concerning grace and free will in Bondage of the Will. Both men have strong view points and
are both eloquent writers, Eramus believes that man has the power to either turn towards works that
lead to salvation or he has the choice not to. Eramus writes to show that man can voluntarily choose
(free will) salvation apart from God. Eramus seems to believe that there exists some type of
cooperativeness with mankind and God. Whereas, Luther is writing to show that there exist no
cooperativeness and salvation is the work of God alone. For the purposes of this paper I will discuss
Luther s arguments in sub section two. In this paper I will review ... Show more content on

These two conflicting statements can stand because in the sight of God apart from the spirit in one s
own powers nothing will be achieved. Luther is trying to convey in this section that apart from the
spirit your works alone will not justify you. The spirit is opposed to the works of the law and apart
from the spirit people are condemned. Luther not only uses Paul s writings to build upon his case but
by looking at the book of the law (Deuteronomy) and some of Christ sayings in John; Luther is
attempting to show that his argument of works outside of the spirit is meaningless. He wishes for the
readers to understand that apart from the spirit of God everything that a person does is condemned no
matter the works of the law that are carried out.
Luther uses scripture to interpret scripture he was trying to show that by utilizing the scripture in the
context in which is what was written the true meaning would be understood. It is not unexpected that
Luther spends a lot of time dealing with the scriptures from Paul because Eramus views Paul as a
promoter of free will. Luther shows that scripture denies the freedom of the will and teaches more on
the sovereignty of God. This section is important because it ties into Luther s entire argument about
free will. Luther believes that free will is not more than a

strong enough to tell her that he could not do it, basing his decision on his beliefs. Eventually, he gives
up and decided to go ahead with the decision yet he knows that it is wrong. Though it was a difficult
decision for him to make, it is still not the right one. At one point, Frankie talks to Father Horvak and
expresses his conflicted feelings. Father Horvak advises Frankie to leave Maggie with God, since it is
wrong to kill a human being even under the circumstances. In his perspective, Frankie justifies the act
by saying that it is wrong for him to let her suffer any longer. He makes an individual decision that
goes against his faith and kills Maggie, just to end her suffering. It might have seemed like a good
decision at the time since it would end Maggie s suffering, but he still killed her, which is wrong. The
decision that Frankie made had a huge impact on his relationship with God, self and others. First, after
helping Maggie die, Frankie felt a disconnection from God. His relationship with God would never be
the same again, since he had knowingly committed sin. Secondly, Frankie s relationship with himself

Furious Five Of Econometrics Essay
The Furious Five of Econometrics Introduction A good inquiry into any economic problem today will
likely entail some form of statistical analysis. It is therefore, not surprising to note that the typical
undergraduate curriculum in economics includes a course in econometrics or statistics. There are two
main reasons for this occurrence. First, the improvement in technology and sheer computing power
over the last two decades has enabled us to handle more and more data in less and less time. Back in
the 1960s and 1970s, econometricians used electromechanical desk calculators to churn out
regressions outputs, which may take up to a day for a single regression. Today, the opportunity cost of
not capitalizing on this toolbox is immense and simply cannot be overlooked. Second, economists,
unlike their natural scientists counterparts, do not have the luxury of conducting experiments in
laboratories under suitably calibrated environments to discern causal relationships between different
variables. Cause of effect relationships of policies and human behaviour in different societies and
economies are often vastly complex and intertwined. Large scale social experiments involving people
are, in general, infeasible to conduct due to budgetary, logistical and ethical reasons. Therefore,
economists look to applied statistics and adopt different approaches to rigorously analyse otherwise
incomprehensible problems. Joshua Angrist of Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Jörn Steffen

that, Chains let people in a city of 250,000 enjoy retail amenities once available to a huge metropolitan

Britain s Debate Over Britain
Britain is one of only a few countries in the world without a codified constitution and has long been a
topic of conversation within parliament itself and the media. There are many published articles which
argue the need for Britain to adopt a written constitution, whilst others argue that Britain is best left
with what many believe as a successful, partially codified constitution. This essay seeks to investigate
as to whether Britain would benefit from a fully codified singular document, similar to those found in
other countries or whether Britain is at an advantage by keeping it s existing documents, some of
which are in statute form and some not, to allow for flexibility in the future.

Within Britain any law can be changed by the Governing party and this highlights the instability of
our current, partially codified constitution which is not entrenched in law. It has long been debated as
to whether Britain actually has an elected dictatorship as there is no ultimate document of overall
authority which defines the powers between executive, legislature and judiciary(www.parliament.uk,
2014). Once a political party have been elected we as citizens have to trust that they will abide by their
promises given in manifestos and continue to listen to the general public s wants and needs.
In 2014, Lord Neuberger, the president of the Supreme Court of the UK, caused controversy by
declaring that there are powerful arguments for Britain to adopt a written constitution. Stating that
although Britain has managed without one so far, contemporary society is such that one must surely be
adopted to secure not only the citizens rights but those within parliament. Neuberger referred to our
position within the European Union and claimed that adopting a written constitution would help the
UK overturn rulings from the European Court of Human Rights, believing that such a constitution
would have supremacy over decisions made within the Human Rights Court in Strasbourg (Owen
2014). Britain is the only country within Europe without a legally binding document on Human Rights

HISTORICAL DEVELOPMENT OF THE BLUES
The blues, both contemporary urban and earlier country blues, occupies a unique place in the
American folk tradition. It is a cultural product native to the United States, yet produced by a people
who have historically been systematically excluded from the mainstream of American institutional and
cultural life. The process by which it has earned a place in the folk tradition is, to a large degree,
microcosmic of the struggle of blacks to achieve legitimacy in American society and history.
The southern region, home to the vast majority of black Americans from
1619 to the post World War I era, gave rise to a unique set of institutional and interactional restrictions
and imperatives which resulted not merely in a bi racial society, but a dual society or, to use M.G.

The psychosexual stages of development played an important role in human development also. Freud
believed it was vital for every human to experience each stage fully; otherwise the consequences of
the missed stage(s) would manifest later in the life cycle a defense mechanism called fixation.
Fixation occurs when there is conflict at a certain stage in psychosexual development. There are five
psychosexual stages of development: oral, anal, phallic, latency, and genital. The first psychosexual
stage of development, the oral stage, begins in infancy and lasts throughout the first year. During this
stage, infants are performing oral exercises such as sucking and learning to create noise with their

at this psychosexual stage, the individual is likely to have difficulty forming healthy relationships, as
well as regulating their optimism and pessimism.
The second stage, the anal stage, occurs from the first year to year and a half until age 3. The child is

Now propose the question o What is Race?

Essay on The Mistress in Death of a Salesman
The Mistress in Death of a Salesman
The mistress, sultry yet sophisticated, played a larger part in the play, Death of A Salesman, than most
would imagine. While she does not make an appearance in the play, she does appear in Willy s
remembered time. During his daydreams, she is referred to as the woman . The woman in Death of A
Salesman never appears in the play, but has a noteworthy presence because she affects the action,
theme, and the development of other characters.
As an outcome of having a mistress, Willy s fragile ego is boosted.
For example, while he is on his lengthy business trips, she lavishes him attention and affirmation.
Willy s last name, Loman, gives insight into the fact that many people do not see Willy ... Show more

While Willy is getting a boost of self esteem, Biff, his son, is yearning for Willy s support.
Biff travels to Boston to ask his father for assistance. Instead of getting help, he finds out the truth
about his father. After he finds out about the woman, he realizes his dad is a fake. Willy was someone
he admired but now all he sees is a phoney. Moreover, Willy s infidelity strips Biff of his faith in his
father. He held his father s ideas in high esteem but now was disgusted with him. He could not handle
his father s greatest ego stroking lie. All of the aspirations Willy had for Biff never came true Biff did
not want what his dad wanted for him anymore. As a result of Willy s affair, Willy begins to see Biff
as a failure. Willy cannot accept the idea that
Biff does not want what he wants. Now that Biff is back from the West,
Willy and him constantly argue over the fact that he is not a success.
This all goes back to the woman. Biff realized he wanted to carve his own way and not end up like his
father: creating ego stroking lies.
All together, Willy s unfaithfulness caused a monumental strain on his relationship with Biff.
After Biff found out about his father s affair, he constantly struggled to succeed. He used to dream of
going to the University of
Virginia. He even had shoes that had their logon printed on them. But after his encounter with the
woman, he did not care anymore. He

So Trump Makes Spelling Errors Analysis
In So Trump Makes Spelling Errors. In the Twitter Age, Whoo Doesn t? Farhad Manjoo shows
popular spelling errors made by Donald Trump in his tweets, expressing that one puts too much
weight on spelling and other typographical mistakes, stating that Twitter is a place for immediacy and
when one chooses to pay more attention to errors in spelling it blinds us to content instead of paying
attention to the unvarnished, unfiltered view of [Trump s] or anyone else s mind. Manjoo, displays in
his article several examples of spelling mistakes made by world renowned politicians and his own
spelling errors to demonstrate that criticizing grammatical errors in tweets, it is elitist and makes one
not focus on what people say but leads to losing the grasp of the more essential crucial issue that is at
stake. Manjoo showcases his affection for defending grammatical errors claiming that people are
attracted to spelling and it is a forgivable sin for politicians to misspell as spelling correctly has
become an important mainstay of the modern public education system. With the white supremacist
march that took place in Virginia this year, it was a viral and significant topic regarding cultural
oppression today. Trump tweeted praising the marches saying that Sometimes you need ... Show more

He himself, being an editor for the New York Times, deliberately makes spelling errors to show that
anyone can make grammar mistakes, but that is not what people should be concerned about. Manjoo

of the reader. He does this to prove the point that when focusing and criticizing on the spelling errors
one would not read the article or in his defense, the tweet. Or would read it and completely ignore the
fact that it was a racist tweet because they were too busy trying to be conceited with checking

Criticize The Way People Think And Behave
There are people all over the world that criticize the way people think and behave. People think that it
is so easy doing what others have to, even if they have never been in the same situation. If you were
the president and you chose to bomb a country that was planning to bomb you soon and another
country suffered from its aftershocks and somebody said that you are doing your job wrong, but they
never seen or done the job before do you think that that person s opinion would be right. When you

consequences. The New England Journal of Medicine s article The Effect of China s One Child
Family Policy after 25 Years discuss the social consequences of Chinas One child policy. The One

growth, the ratio between men and women, and the ratio between adult children and dependent elderly
parents. Each social consequences causes disastrous results. The policy is a sex imbalance that creates

undesirable effects. The first social consequence is decrease in population growth. Population growth
in china has declined in the past 25 years. The policy has prevented many births as stated in the article

Ryan And Hollywood Case Study
Ryan and Kelly, you, are the two candidates for the position of representing your school. However,
your coach needs to decide who must go based on who has better times and who has been improving
the most. Your training information is given in a graph:
This graph can also be shown as the equation t= 0.1w + 14.7. This equation follows the slope intercept
form y=mx + b, where m is the slope and b is the y intercept, which is the point where the line touches
the y axis. The slope can be calculated using the slope formula:
This formula used the points (2, 14.5) and (7, 14.0). Then, just substitute the slope for m and the y
intercept, or 14.7, for b. This gives you the formula t= 0.1w + 14.7. However, Ryan s information is
given in a table: ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, Ryan s time and decreasing rate is different. Ryan s starting two mile time was 13.75
minutes. Every week Ryan trains, his two mile time decreases by 3 seconds. This situation can also be
shown by an equation:
The coefficient of 0.05 represents the rate at which Ryan s two mile run time is decreasing. However,
the term 13.75 represents the two mile running time Ryan started with. If you substitute the value ten
for w, you could find out the speed that Ryan runs two miles at the end of two weeks. So, after training
ten weeks, Ryan can run two miles in 13.25 minutes This means that Ryan is able to run two miles 0.5
seconds faster than you can. So, it would be the best option for the coach to choose Ryan over you for
the competition.
However, there is a race 12 weeks after the start of your training and another 25 weeks after the start
of your training. Who should be the representative of your school for those races? First, start with the
race 12 weeks after your training started. Use the same formulas shown above for you and Ryan to
calculate who can run two miles faster after 12 weeks from the start of your

Wilderness Survival Skills Course Analysis
Hi, I m Doug Hill, the instructor for Wilderness Survival Skills here at Red Rocks Community
College. In this first video, I m going to introduce you to the course, tell you a little bit about myself
and what to expect out of the course and how this is all going to work. So welcome to the first ever
hybrid version of Wilderness Survival skills here at Red Rocks. Now I know it might seem a bit
strange. How do you learn wilderness survival online. I ve heard a couple of jokes myself. So
typically, the 3 credit class, OUT 108 at Red Rocks is 2 credits of classroom based lecture time and
one credit field based learning. So, if you think about taking two credits of classroom based time and
putting into a series of video lectures and independent ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

background information, statistics, theory, physiology and anatomy, all the kind of softer, academic
side of this course. From there, the beginning of module 2, we dive into harder skills. So module 2
focuses around your immediate priorities in a survival situation. Following that is module 3, short
term survival skills. Then, schedule wise, we ll be heading out on to the overnight after that and
getting into module 4, long term survival skills, most of that will be handled out there during that 3
day scenario. And then when we come back after the field portion, module 5 is a wrap up and
reflection, I ll ask you to reflect on your experiences, what you still need to learn, what you did well,
and asking you to put together a survival kit at that time. Lets take a look at the syllabus together. At
the top, you ll see a description and course

This is the way dealers can secure products for the season and allows Triumph to understand the
market and best seller.
For the Autumn/Winter 2011 collection that we are appointed, Triumph has coordinate together with
Barbour. Barbour is a UK owned clothing store broadening out from its countrywear roots. Todays the
company produces clothing that is designed for a full country lifestyle. The collection is to be launch
during February and March 2011. The launching event usually taken place at the factory where dealers
visit the pop up store for viewing the new collection and this is to be joined by appointment only.
Information, product demonstration and order making are taken place on the event day. Sometimes the
person visiting the event may not have the authority to make the purchase, therefore the company is
given them a 3 week launching event so that decisions can be made within this 3 weeks. During this 3
weeks, larger dealers have their individual bringing of 1 3 staffs whereas 2 4 small dealers are grouped
together.
The main goal of this collection is to start expanding the market to those who are non bikers. But the
problem being that they have not been considering about putting their products into any other
department stores because they want to give priority to their existing dealers for stocking Triumph
products. There is no budget limit for the launching event and sounded like the previous events made
at the factory has been quite low. Their main

Anne Sexton Housewife Essay
Anne Sexton s poetry was stark, unrestrained and personal, compared to the traditional. It captivated
her readers with its real, unique sense of style. The poems spoke of intimate, deep experiences. Anne
Sexton s poetry delves into mental illness and death by using imagery, diction and free verse to
convey isolation, depression and the search for identity.
In the poem Housewife, Anne Sexton utilizes the search for identity to delve into her own personal
feelings regarding her role as a wife and mother. She portrays this realization and search for oneself by
using many types of descriptive imagery and diction, lifelong search for identity shaped her poetry
(Crowe 1). The house is brought to life and becomes a human, It s another kind of skin; it has a heart a
mouth, a liver and bowel movements (2 3). The house is the women s cage, which takes the place of
the man she believed she married. Society locked women away and left them in the dark with no way
out. They crave love and compassion to lead them on their search for identity, ironically only finding

Throughout the poem, the death (23 25), is repeatedly used and seen as a goal to be reached in life
whenever you decide to get there. By using those specific words, Sexton goes against the traditional
poets. Sexton and Plath both have a deep love for death and it is a frequently discussed topic and isn t
new to either of them. The word death is also repeated due to Sexton s obsession with the idea. Death
is something she craved and needed more than water, they wrote about loneliness and alienation, and
they spoke plainly about contemplating suicide (Crowe 2). By examining the words used and Sexton s
tone, you can feel her envy towards her friend by calling her a thief (15). In Sexton s eyes, Plath stole
death from her and took the one thing she wanted for

The Next Phase Of Ending The Cold War Essay
The Next Phase in Ending the Cold War
The date is October 27, 1962, and it is a brisk fall day in Michigan. Normally, I could hear children
playing outside of my office window but not today. Today, all that I can hear is wind passing through
the city and the feeling of despair resonates throughout the populace. The blockade went up two days
ago and I want to believe that it will be enough to subdue the U.S.S.R. forces but I am unsure if the
blockade will hold. President Kennedy is entirely against using first strike measures because he does
not want to enter another unnecessary war, however most citizens have lived in a state of panic and
distress. The citizens believe that the strikes would be bad, but they would end the restlessness that
can be felt even in the smallest of children. The biggest conversation politically is that President
Kennedy is not fit to be president of the United States of America, due to his age and the recent
failure, The Bay of Pigs .
Conflict between Cuba, U.S.S.R, and the United States present two conclusions: These nations begin a
nuclear war with few to none survivors or these nations do not participate in a nuclear war and
everyone lives. I have been tasked with dealing with two scenarios: The first scenario is if we decided
to strike Cuba, what does the day after look like. The second scenario is that if we wait and the United
States is hit with a nuclear weapon from Cuba, what does October 28, 1962, look like for an average
American.

  • 3. John Freyer The all my life for sale, online project by John Freyer is a unique idea that I found very intrigued. Freyer sold everything he owned, from his personal photographs to his false teeth on Ebay. After he had sold everything, he determined to take on a journey and visit each item that he sold at their new home. As I viewed some of the items he had sold, a particular item caught my attention; the T 4 super camera and 50 photographs. As technology advances, newer cameras become better in quality so, eventually, the T 4 Super is going to be an antique camera. Initially, I search the T 4 Super on Ebay, and luckily I was able to find an exact camera like the one Freyer had sold. The seller on Ebay uses subjective description to describe the item; the seller states, Camera is in very good condition, clean, and is working. As I review the camera myself, the seller is honest that the camera is clean, but I do see some minor scratches since it s a used camera. On the other hand, Freyer also uses subject description because he doesn t mention the condition of the camera. He focused more on how he used his camera, which was, I have taken pictures with this camera in nearly every state in the country, in Sweden, Norway, Canada, and nearly into Mexico. ... As for Freyer, he also used a single image to imagine the shaping of his story, and he described the item as, It is small enough to fit in a pocket, and has a Carl Ziess lens gives it a more visual to the buyer. Both sellers were trying to reach out adventurous photographers, who love the outdoors or enjoy traveling. For example, the seller on Ebay said, It s a great camera to pack for a hike, bring around at a party, or shoot events and portraits! • 4. Analysis Of Simone De Beauvoir s The Second Sex The first text we explore in this step is Bonaventure s On Seeing God in his Image . Bonaventure shows us that through inward reflection we can see God. God can then lead us to God s two most important laws, and the best ways for us to live in community with others; by loving God, and our neighbors. The next text is from the 2nd Vatican Council called Pastoral Constitution, which focused on bringing the church into modern times. This text focuses on the importance of helping those being marginalized, those who are on the brink of society, and what is the best way that the Church as a community can fight to protect them. The following text comes from Simone de Beauvoir called The Second Sex, which discusses the ideas of the feminist ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One major link includes the fight between an oppressed group and their persecutors. Whether it s the proletariat and the bourgeois in The Communist Manifesto, or the inequality of genders in The Second Sex, or the flight of the African Americans in the Letter from Birmingham Jail . In all of these texts we are shown how easy it is for one group to abuse their power and create unfair rules and regulations only imposed on the more inferior members of society. Each group of oppressor thrives off of alienating, and subjugating their inferiors. So it seems the theme of solidarity is the only way to combat this linkage of oppression. In all of the texts we are shown that through solidarity comes freedom. We see in Bonaventure, and Vatican Council II that all God wants for God s people is inclusion, and to fight for the rights of the others of the world. In the more secular texts from King, de Beauvoir, and Marx and Engels, we see the same ideas. The only way to fight prejudice is to unite the people of either side of the problem, and have them work together to make the whole of society a more inclusive place. By uniting together to fight oppression we overcome the trivialities that separate seemingly opposing groups. The next theme contingent throughout the step is the benefits of community. This is similar to the inclusiveness that comes from solidarity, but through community we can prevent oppression from happening ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 6. System Design Failures Of Vlsi Circuits SYSTEM DESIGN FAILURES Introduction: Simulation in VLSI circuits are used to evaluate codes that are used in certain applications to improve the integration process and in the Printed Circuit Board Fabrication process. Simulation is done to determine the fault in the process. It has great role in Printed Circuit Board fabrication. In VLSI Testing simulations are classified mainly into Exhaustive Simulation and Non Exhaustive Simulation. [1] Exhaustive Simulation: This process that involves applying all possible inputs to the circuit under test (CUT) by simulating them and checking to see if the output responses are identical for every input. The major drawback with this process is the number of test patterns. [2] Non Exhaustive Simulation: This process involves deterministic compact and pseudo random test sets. This will test the circuit within acceptable time and cost. This reduced test set may be based upon fault models, particularly the stuck at model. However, it is often required to estimate how effective is this non exhaustive test set is in detecting possible faults in the circuit under test (CUT). Example: SRT Algorithm. [3] System Design Failure are failures in a design, a manufacturing or an assembly process, or a product or service. The Pentium Bug and Ariane 5 Disaster are some of the system design failures. The Pentium Bug: THE ISSUE: The Pentium bug or Pentium FDIV bug was a computer arithmetic bug that affected the floating point unit (FPU) instruction set of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. The Purpose Of The Athenian Army Part 3 1) The Athenian Army The purpose of the Athenian army was to was to secure Athenian democratic society. The army fought battles against other Greek states and foreign states most often against oligarchies and aristocracies. The army was managed by a polemarch (senior military title), along with ten generals from the ten tribes of Athens. The largest component of the army was the infantry composed of hoplites (citizens fighting in a full set of armour). They went into battle protected by a helmet, breastplate, and greaves (shin guards), carrying a large round shield and long spear. The state would sometimes issue such equipment to citizens who could not afford a set of their own. The Athenian army was primarily male citizens, who were made to enlist at the beginning of the year following their 18th birthdays. For two years, new cadets (known as ephebes) trained full time. After training, they rejoined public life, though they were committed to the army for 40 years. At any time, they could be called to duty to defend Athens. The people elect two athletic trainers and instructors for them, to teach them their drill as heavy armed soldiers and to use the bow, javelin, and sling. Richer Athenians enrolled in the cavalry, as always, a smaller elite military force made up of those wealthy enough to own and maintain a good mount. The state would call upon an inspection and registration of all of the horses on an annual basis, so that the owner could draw a maintenance ... After his father died in 1483, he was taken in by his uncle. Copernicus later enrolled in the University of Cracow and assumed an administrative position just below that of bishop. The geocentric model showed the Earth being the center of the universe and the rest of the planets revolving around it. This idea was introduced by Ptolemy to explain how the planets moved. Why Great Men Do Not Become President Essay Why Great Men Do Not Become President Over the course of history America has been electing the most popular not necessarily the best qualified men as president. The office has become a strategic component vital to each political party. Parties sacrifice a great leader for the man that will win the most votes. History is a record of how we have always had had this practice. The office is full of corruption because money and influence run the presidency. The political leaders lie to the people that he is intended to serve. There are many overwhelming reasons that the best man is not always chosen for the job. Location, religion, and political goals for the people are the most common deciding factors. Some of the other techniques were more obvious in an example of serving in the Union Army greatly increased your chances at becoming president. Simply being a Union soldier should not be a major factor in determining a great leader but in the court of public opinion it is kind of prerequisite in the elections after the Civil War. The term giving for this was Waving the bloody shirt. Grant was elected after Civil War because of his role as the leading general of Union forces. Towards the end of an election, presidential candidates become more of a brand name then a person. In the most recent election, Bush and Gore both put on equally entertaining shows. While watching a HBO documentary I was able to get a glimpse that majority of Americans never get to see. It was the truth behind the man that is the president. The independent documentary shows Bush running down the street choreographed with news crews to run at the right pace, then turns the corner and gets into a waiting Lincoln navigator. This is to help his image. People do not want to elect an out of shape president. Physical ability is something on the minds of all Americans. Seeing the candidate take a jog down the street helps them secure the image of fitness with the candidate making it more likely people with the same views will vote for him. • 11. The Crime Control Model Of The Ryan Ferguson Essay In a perfect world every person s rights would never be compromised, within a society that is free of crime. Everyone would be equal and treated fairly. Unfortunately this is not the case, our system was created to serve and to protect the lives and rights of every American. Although, the scary reality is that not everyone s rights are always protected and some are even wrongfully convicted of crimes he or she is innocent of. This is an unnerving concept that seems like a plot to a popular crime fighting show. Sadly, this possibility was a reality for a man named Ryan Ferguson. Three key factors of the Ryan Ferguson case are: the Crime Control Model, the role of evidence, and the role of Appellate courts. The Crime Control Model demonstrates a specific viewpoint of prevention and deterrence of crime which means, the most important function of the criminal justice process to punish and repress criminal conduct, (Gaines, Kaune, and LeRoy,17). This means that a person who aliens with this model, will ensure someone gets charged for the crime committed. If more and more criminals are taken off of the streets, the justice system ultimately is successful in protecting it s society members. A known criminal could be convicted of a crime that he or she did not commit, but according to this model, as long as criminals are getting punished and removed the system is doing its job. In the Ryan Ferguson case, it is clear that Prosecutor Crain aligned with the Crime Control model. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 13. Narrative Therapy Essay Introduction Often times, people live through painful events in their life that can alter their perception of themselves, their family, and the world. Narrative therapy offers the client the opportunity to re write their story and gain a different perspective of specific events. It is important to understand that within the history of narrative therapy, therapists view client s stories through a political lens. Often times, focusing on the oppression and cultural dominance that exists within the constructs of our society. Thus, empowering clients to change their story allows them to break free from the constraints that have shaped their outlook and allow for alternative ways of thinking. Background of Narrative Therapy According to Atkinson Leslie (2011), narrative therapy is a postmodern approach, which holds the client as the center of their own perceptions and results in their personal actions and beliefs. The therapist is there to assist the author (client) in re writing or developing new stories so that change can occur. This allows the family to create new roles and understanding of themselves and their family, by creating a new story. Michael White was the pioneer of narrative therapy and along with David Epston s approach to storytelling and therapeutic letters they were able to develop this approach. Michael White s wife, Cheryl White, was also instrumental in assisting these men in the development and publication of their works. Their work was made ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Fate s a predestined fortune that is supposedly inevitable. (fate) The question of changing fate prevails as an underlying theme in the book. Characters lives and choices revolve around the idea of their predetermined destiny. It proves difficult to decide whether fate is escapable or not. From the beginning of the book Mordred s fate plays a key factor in characters actions. The king s advisor Merlin prophesied Mordred to kill his father, King Arthur, when he reaches the age of seventeen. When the prologue starts King Arthur s sacrificing all the male babies in the kingdom who were born on May Day, including Mordred. This will supposedly change the fate prophesized for them according to his advisor Merlin. But Merlin had spoken: Let all male babies of the nobility born on May Day be brought to the shore. That was the sort of thing that happened when the King did wrong (Springer Vii). King Arthur thought by doing this he had managed to avoid his predestined doom. As soon as chapter one starts, it reveals one baby out of the forty brought to sea managed to survive. That one baby was King Arthur s son, Mordred. He was saved by a couple who lived by the sea. Jesus himself believed in the method and even told Saint Faustina that she could save more souls through prayer and suffering than will a missionary through his teachings and sermons alone (Diary 1767). Evidently, the idea of redemptive suffering worked its way strongly into his novel Crime and Punishment. The protagonist, Rodion Romanovich Raskolnikov, was an impoverished former student who lived in St. Petersburg. Raskolnikov believed that he could make the world a better place by murdering a crooked pawnbroker and taking her money to help the needy; Raskolnikov ends up murdering the pawnbroker as well as her innocent sister. • 18. Jury Trial Advantages Introduction: Juries form an important part of our legal system and are made up of ordinary people from our community. A jury trial is a legal proceeding in which a jury, made up of twelve individuals, makes a decision that then directs the actions of a judge. A jury is randomly chosen from a list of voter registrations and driver licence ID renewals. Once the jury is chosen they participate in both criminal trials and civil trials. In criminal trials the jury hears evidence and makes a decision as to whether the person is guilty or innocent. Civil trials that need juries are usually defamation proceedings. A jury trial, may consist of people such as, construction workers or stay at home mums and therefore, they may not be able to understand complex laws and forensic evidence. This is one of the biggest disadvantages to having a jury trial. Another disadvantage is that every juror has their own personal beliefs that can affect their decision. For example, someone who comes to court not well dressed may already be considered guilty in jurors that hold appearance in high regard. The jury system itself has many problems and issues. For example, some trials can last for days or even months and therefore the jury must remain an audience for the entire duration listening to arguments and evidence. • 25. Positive And Negative Effects Of Gender Stereotyping Throughout society there are many different cultural and social perceptions that allow people to form judgmental beliefs about society. Encompassed within these perceptions are stereotypes and prejudice. Stereotypes and prejudice are examples of categorizations of people which allow our brains to fill in the types or interactions that may happen with people. There are different positive and negative forms of stereo types and prejudice that effect our interaction with individuals resulting in judgmental affliction upon individuals or groups. This essay will analyze and provide examples of the positive and negative effects of gender stereotyping and prejudice. Stereotyping can come in many different forms and have many different subjects. One form of stereotyping is of gender. Just about everyone holds stereotypes of women and men some positive and some negative. Women are more empathic and talkative; men are more competent and aggressive. For example, are women really more empathic than men? Which women? Empathic toward whom? When women s and men s actual behavior is observed systematically under a variety of conditions, the sexes do not differ in having feelings of empathy or in its expression (book, p. 365). Social pressures influence how we conform to these stereotypes, however it does create a problem when people are victimized by the negative stereotypes of their gender or group. There are different connotations that can be identified when stereotyping: positive, women are better caregivers and men are better breadwinners or money makers. These positive connotations can be taken negative towards the other gender or even their own gender men can be caretakers too and women can make money. In the early 1900 s there was a high discrimination towards women, women entering the work force worked in factory lines, while men worked management which resulted in lower pay for women kept the men in charge. Over the years gender roles have taken a turn and there is now a significant increase with women working and taking on management roles. Roles in society are different between genders and those differences either positive or negative will hopefully diminish after time. Prejudice often ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Both men have strong view points and are both eloquent writers, Eramus believes that man has the power to either turn towards works that lead to salvation or he has the choice not to. Eramus writes to show that man can voluntarily choose (free will) salvation apart from God. Eramus seems to believe that there exists some type of cooperativeness with mankind and God. Luther not only uses Paul s writings to build upon his case but by looking at the book of the law (Deuteronomy) and some of Christ sayings in John; Luther is attempting to show that his argument of works outside of the spirit is meaningless. He wishes for the readers to understand that apart from the spirit of God everything that a person does is condemned no matter the works of the law that are carried out. Luther uses scripture to interpret scripture he was trying to show that by utilizing the scripture in the context in which is what was written the true meaning would be understood. • 33. Furious Five Of Econometrics Essay The Furious Five of Econometrics Introduction A good inquiry into any economic problem today will likely entail some form of statistical analysis. It is therefore, not surprising to note that the typical undergraduate curriculum in economics includes a course in econometrics or statistics. There are two main reasons for this occurrence. First, the improvement in technology and sheer computing power over the last two decades has enabled us to handle more and more data in less and less time. Back in the 1960s and 1970s, econometricians used electromechanical desk calculators to churn out regressions outputs, which may take up to a day for a single regression. Today, the opportunity cost of not capitalizing on this toolbox is immense and simply cannot be overlooked. Second, economists, unlike their natural scientists counterparts, do not have the luxury of conducting experiments in laboratories under suitably calibrated environments to discern causal relationships between different variables. Cause of effect relationships of policies and human behaviour in different societies and economies are often vastly complex and intertwined. Large scale social experiments involving people are, in general, infeasible to conduct due to budgetary, logistical and ethical reasons. Therefore, economists look to applied statistics and adopt different approaches to rigorously analyse otherwise incomprehensible problems. Southern Musical Tradition and the African Tradition The second major tributary of the southern musical tradition comes from the African continent and is the heritage import of the five million slaves brought to North America against their will to provide the bulk of the labor in the pre industrial agrarian south. Contemporary blues, while not exclusively black music by any means, remains largely black in terms of its leading performers and, to a lesser extent, its listening audience. The forerunner of the modern urban blues was, however, almost exclusively black and was completely southern and rural. HISTORICAL DEVELOPMENT OF THE BLUES The blues, both contemporary urban and earlier country blues, occupies a unique place in the American folk tradition. It is a cultural product native to the United States, yet produced by a people who have historically been systematically excluded from the mainstream of American institutional and cultural life. The process by which it has earned a place in the folk tradition is, to a large degree, microcosmic of the struggle of blacks to achieve legitimacy in American society and history. The southern region, home to the vast majority of black Americans from 1619 to the post World War I era, gave rise to a unique set of institutional and interactional restrictions and imperatives which resulted not merely in a bi racial society, but a dual society or, to use M.G. Smith s (1957:763 777) terms, a plural society. Such a society is maintained by several structural mechanisms which are designed to accomplish a high degree of enclosure within one s ethnic group, such as endogamy, residential restrictions, institutional duplication, and highly restricted relations with the dominant group (cf. Pierre van den Berghe, 1965). The tone of subordination domination was clearly ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Fixation occurs when there is conflict at a certain stage in psychosexual development. There are five psychosexual stages of development: oral, anal, phallic, latency, and genital. The first psychosexual stage of development, the oral stage, begins in infancy and lasts throughout the first year. During this stage, infants are performing oral exercises such as sucking and learning to create noise with their mouths and will be expected to wean themselves from their mother s breasts/bottles. If fixation occurs at this psychosexual stage, the individual is likely to have difficulty forming healthy relationships, as well as regulating their optimism and pessimism. She is not going to a UC, and thus he makes that point of comparison on education to show how successful I am because of my Hispanic values can surpass the concerns of an alcoholic Native American family. However, your coach needs to decide who must go based on who has better times and who has been improving the most. Your training information is given in a graph: This graph can also be shown as the equation t= 0.1w + 14.7. This equation follows the slope intercept form y=mx + b, where m is the slope and b is the y intercept, which is the point where the line touches the y axis. The slope can be calculated using the slope formula: This formula used the points (2, 14.5) and (7, 14.0). Then, just substitute the slope for m and the y intercept, or 14.7, for b. This gives you the formula t= 0.1w + 14.7. However, Ryan s information is given in a table: ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, Ryan s time and decreasing rate is different. However, the term 13.75 represents the two mile running time Ryan started with. If you substitute the value ten for w, you could find out the speed that Ryan runs two miles at the end of two weeks. So, after training ten weeks, Ryan can run two miles in 13.25 minutes This means that Ryan is able to run two miles 0.5 seconds faster than you can. Today, all that I can hear is wind passing through the city and the feeling of despair resonates throughout the populace. The blockade went up two days ago and I want to believe that it will be enough to subdue the U.S.S.R. forces but I am unsure if the blockade will hold. President Kennedy is entirely against using first strike measures because he does not want to enter another unnecessary war, however most citizens have lived in a state of panic and distress. The citizens believe that the strikes would be bad, but they would end the restlessness that can be felt even in the smallest of children.
