The, Same Love, By Macklemore, Ryan Lewis, And Mary Lambert
Playing God
A crowd of sweaty sixth graders eager to get to recess, pushed one another in their haste to get down
to the park. My best friend hung back. When I ran back to join him, he looked scared, tears welled in
his eyes. He took a deep breath, ready to get something off his chest, and said to me and my friend,
You know I like boys right? I shrugged and said, Really? That s okay, lets just go play soccer. Sweet
innocence of children somehow gets lost in some when transitioning to adulthood. They turn to hate
filled comments, demeaning gay people into think ing that their sexual orientation is something sinful
or awful. The music video, Same Love by Macklemore, Ryan Lewis, and Mary Lambert attempts to
change the part of society that believes being gay is a choice. Macklemore is known best for his hip
hop and rapping style music, and while he keeps the rapping aspect in this music video, this is the first
time he delves into deeper social issues. Same Love seeks to portrays one man s life journey dealing
with his homosexuali ty, while at the same time challenging viewers to understand that sexual
orientation doesn t define a person.
Using subtle imagery to appeal to viewer s emotions, Same Love depicts the struggles of the main
character and what he has to endure throughout his life. As a teenager, he attempts to fit into the social
mold of normality . Panning through a house and into a room of teenagers sit ting on a floral carpet,
one girl spins a brown beer

Syrian Civil War Research Paper
The Cause of the Syrian civil war was the people that wanted a change in government, so they
protested. In 2011, successful uprisings that became known as the Arab Spring toppled Tunisia s and
Egypt s presidents. This gave hope to Syrian pro democracy activists. That March, peaceful protests
erupted in Syria as well, after 15 boys were detained and tortured for writing graffiti in support of the
Arab Spring. One of the boys, a 13 year old, was killed after having been brutally tortured. The Syrian
government, led by President Bashar al Assad, responded to the protests by killing hundreds of
demonstrators and imprisoning many more. In July 2011, defectors from the military announced the
formation of the Free Syrian Army, a rebel group aiming to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

That following May, the Army tanks enter Deraa, Banyas, Homs and the suburbs of Damascus in an
effort to crush anti regime protests. In June that same year the IAEA (International Atomic Energy
Agency) nuclear watchdog decides to report Syria to the UN Security Council over its alleged covert
nuclear programme reactor programme. The structure housing the alleged reactor was destroyed in an
Israeli air raid in 2007. July 2011 President Assad sacks the governor of the northern province of
Hama, after mass demonstration there, eventually sending in troops to restore order at the cost of
scores of lives. In October the same year new Syrian national council says it has forged a common
front of internal and exiled opposition activists. In February 2012 the Syrian government steps up the
bombardment of Homs and other cities. In 2018 April the Syrian government uses chemical weapons
on their own citizens. The U.S. launches missiles at military bases and research stations to stop the
government from using chemical

Honeywell Building Controls Division (BCD)
INTRODUCTION
Honeywell Building Controls Division (BCD) was split after the Residential and Building Controls
Division lost money in 1981. The new BCD was created with a hope for a profitable business. In order
to get more market share, in 1984 the BCD started to build Mod IV; the great promised product with
better quality of its motor and cost reduction. The BCD built the cross functional Mod IV team
combined from manufacturing, marketing/sales, and engineering. In addition, to be more competitive,
the BCD dropped sequential development in favor of the parallel development with a desire for faster
and better products. The skate was high but the BCD had an inferior Product Development that slowed
them down. The inferior product ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In effect, the development process is squeezed together (e.g., Clark Fujimoto, 1991). For the Mod IV
team, there was not a problem solving strategy. The project team did not have a plan or discussed
about the problem solving strategy in their team meeting. For example, when project team had a lot of
semantic issues, they did not even know about it (e.g., Brown Eisenhardt, 1995). Without problem
solving strategy, project team could not avoid errors later in the product development process. Hence,
Mod IV was having problem meeting schedule for both design and production. In conclusion, the
unaffected project team wasted resources, caused delay, and could not avoid errors. In addition, a
weak project leader could spell problem for Mod IV product development.
In this paper, we will take a look at two characteristics of the project leader. One central characteristic
is the power of the project leader (e.g., Brown Eisenhardt, 1995). By powerful leaders we mean those
project leaders with significant decision making responsibility, organization wide authority, and high
hierarchical level (e.g., Brown Eisenhardt, 1995). Those leaders are highly effective in obtaining
resources such as more personnel and larger budgets

P1 Explain The Importance Of Gaining A Qualification
Possessing a qualification is extremely advantageous when seeking employment. Being qualified in
the workplace provides employees with the opportunity to go further in the industry and seek
employment that is enjoyable. Qualifications can be obtained via internal and external courses and can
be available for just about any type of employment. Completing and obtaining qualification
certificates allows another way for the employee to showcase their skills on a resume and within the
working industry to their employer and fellow employee s. Having a qualification can sometimes
determine whether or not you are eligible to apply for certain jobs (as you do not meet all candidate
requirements), this is where studying to obtain a qualification comes

Popular Vote Dbq
History has shown us that some leaders are great and others are not. Such as George Washington who
was a great leader and the people loved him. King George III did not have a great reputation in the
colonies of America. They were not happy with how he was leading and taxing the colonies. After
America became free, a new way of electing a leader was needed. At first America used the popular
vote to elect leaders and then the people in smaller states started to get upset. They felt as if they were
dirt on the bottom of everybody s shoe and they were not appreciated. So on February 1, 1877 the
United States of America created the Electoral College. The Electoral College was created to give the
smaller states more power to help make decision ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are a larger number of votes because of all the people that live in the United States today. Many
of them are from other countries and are separated into where they are from. The popular vote is what
is decided for the state. It helps the representatives of the state to says which candidate to vote for. The
Electoral College came into the United States in 1877, however that is the way that the U.S. has been
voting for presidents ever since the Electoral College was invented. Only five presidents have won
without the popular vote, now that could be for many reasons. Such as the representatives decided to
vote opposite of the popular vote or it would mean that one party leads more of the country than the
other. Then the country could be able to pass bills or agree with each other. I think that the Electoral
College is needed. It helps the U.S. determine who the next president is. It takes the popular vote and
tells how the section of the state is voting. The states have a certain amount of electors to use and that
will tell whether the stated voted Republican or Democratic. Many people run for the president each
time there is an election and the people always have a favorite. In 2016 it was Hillary Clinton; she lost
to Donald Trump who did not have the popular vote. She was predicted to win the whole election.
However that was not the case. The Electoral College said otherwise and said that Donald Trump won
instead of Hillary. It was the second time for this to happen in 16 years, before Trump it was George
Bush who won without the popular

Theme Of Anthropology In The Movie Avatar
Biocultural anthropology looks at the relationships between human biology and culture. In the movie
Avatar, the Na vi are humanoids species native to Pandora, standing 6 feet tall with blue skin and a
long tail; But one of the characters, Parker Selfridge from the human world, a selfish and greedy man,
refers the Na vi as blue monkeys and savages . The Na vi natives are very spiritual believers and they
believe all living beings in Pandora lives in unity. Every living creature that is born on Pandora has
neural connection fibers. Not only Humanoids and animals have these neural connection fibers but
also trees which allows all breathing creatures to plug in to each other s neural system network. This
lets them feel each other s thoughts and emotions. In the movie, Jake Sully, a human man, is
connected to the Na vi world by a computer generated machine that links his mind with his avatar
body which could interact with the natives of Pandora. He finds himself feeling more connected with
himself in his avatar body than his actual body in the real world; For the reason that in the real world,
he is paralyzed and can t walk so he feels handicapped. In his avatar body, he could be normal again
and do the things he couldn t do in real life like run on his two feet. Also, humans didn t know how to
connect with each other s feelings and he was able to connect and feel the spirits and emotions with
the Na vi of the Pandora world.

Elephant Poaching Essay
Elephant Poaching
We are experiencing what is likely to be the greatest percentage loss of elephants in history, said
Richard G. Ruggiero, an official with the United States Fish and Wildlife Service (Ney York Times;
December 3, 2012). The poaching of elephants started in the late 1800 s and is still happening today.
People are slaughtering these majestic animals for their ivory tusks. Ivory has been sold on the black
market for millions of dollars. Before the start of ivory poaching there were millions of elephants in
the world in both Africa and India, but today because of the hunting for ivory, there are barely any of
these giants left in the wild. Throughout history Europeans have been moving in on central African
states to make ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is a tragedy beyond reckoning and humanity needs to pay attention to the plight of the elephants
before it is too late said Cyril Christo (CNN; February3, 2013). This world wide known tragedy has
probed other countries to donate money, campaign, and educate to create an avenue for the awareness
of Save the Elephants (www.savetheelephants.org).
There are organizations around the globe designed to stop elephant poaching. Their intent is to sway
people s opinions to help with the world wide problem. Only a global ban on the sale of ivory would
take the heat off of these massive creatures. Solutions might include, addressing the involvement of
international criminal institutes by means of strong law enforcement at both national and international
levels along the full extent of the supply. Closing down domestic (national) markets in ivory, would
also be beneficial. Countries could embrace the trade ban, and educate consumers in order to stem the
demand for ivory (Bloody Ivory; January 11, 2013).
Just imagine life without any elephants, wiped out just like the dinosaurs. In the early 1980 s, there
were more than a million reported elephants in Africa. Tragically, during that decade, 600,000
elephants were destroyed for ivory products. Today, conceivably no more than 400,000 elephants
remain across the continent. Elephants are facing a very real threat of extinction; In fact, the African
elephants are listed on the

Racial Differences In Criminal Justice System Essay
When researchers concentrated on harmless violations, they observed that the judges appeared to be
significantly fairer. Likewise, in research center tests, white trial judges, hold implicit bias against
black individuals (Brown, 2016). In any case, literature has shown that judges could defeat those
biases with actual effort.
Race differences in criminal involvement and racial patterns in the criminal justice system have been
important topics since the beginning of American criminology (Alessandro, 2016). In late decades, a
considerable literature focused on racial profiling by police and racial differences in imprisonment,
sentencing, and other areas of criminal and juvenile justice processing has grown. There are both

(Mauer, 2004). Mauer is the official chief of the Sentencing Project, a national association working for
a reasonable and compelling criminal justice framework (Mauer, 2004). Maybe the most stark among
these are the information produced by the United States Division of Justice that venture that if current
patterns proceed with, one of each three black males conceived today will go to jail in his lifetime, as
will one of each six Hispanic men.
Despite changes in leadership and growing attention to issues of racial and ethnic disparity in recent
years, these disparities in the criminal justice decision making still persist at every level within the
system. This does not necessarily suggest that these outcomes represent conscious efforts to
discriminate, but nonetheless, they contribute to excessive rates of imprisonment for some

Presentation of Idealised Lifestyles in Editorial and Advertisements of Magazines
The two magazines I have chosen to compare for this coursework are Hello! Magazine, September
21st 2004 and Nuts Magazine, Thursday 1st October 2004 . I have decided on these two magazines
because they are aimed at two greatly different audiences.
Hello! Magazine was first published to the public on the January of 1990. This was a time when
Hello! was more then just information of celebrities and their lifestyles. The audience, as today s, was
still mainly women readers.

On the cover, it has a big picture of a famous wedding that took place that week, and the cover story
has lots of brilliant photos of the occasion, making the reader feel that they were invited and saw all
the action of the day. It also has lots of interviews with other famous starts, including a lady who still
looks very, very well at 70 years old, and Donny Osmond in his house with his family.
All the stories are aimed at the 25 40 s and wouldn t suit any other audience, old or young. It does
have a few adverts, advertising perfume, house interior and food. This is appropriate advertising in
this magazine. If it had adverts on football boots costing £99, it would be a waste of space and the
makers would not make any profit at all. It would be getting the audience wrong and would show un
professionalism.
In all the pictures, apart from the photos that where not organized with the celebrity, the people
involved in the photo are always looking into the camera lens and smiling. This makes the person look
like they are smiling at you and shows that in the interview, they were upbeat, friendly and having a
good time. In the interviews, the author/interviewer describes every detail of the moment; expressions,
actions, the way they said their sentence, making the reader picture this interview.
The reader gets the pleasure to see some of

Anger Management and Health Essay
Anger Management and Health
Everybody feels anger from time to time. People have been documented feeling anger since biblical
times when God was considered angry. Babies even exhibit signs that are interpreted as anger, such as
crying or screaming. Anger is not in any way unique to people. Animals also have the ability to feel
and express anger.
In our personal lives we get angry over at least one thing on almost a daily basis, whether it be on the
job, with a spouse or loved one, or perhaps with a figure of authority. Many psychologists have
written about anger, discussing the relationship between anger and fear. Each of the individuals that
comprise humanity possesses at least one phobia, in the same way that each

The authors of When Anger Hurts: Anger in Modern
Life explain the complications that chronic anger can create. Doctors have long suspected that anger
increases the blood rate. Many scientists now point out that norepinepherine, the drug that is secreted
during anger, increases blood pressure as well. Anger and abnormally high blood pressure are
correlated; and high blood pressure leads to many forms of heart disease. In a recent study
1,623 patients were interviewed an average of four days after they had suffered a heart attack
following an outburst of anger. The study showed that the risk of suffering a heart attack is doubled
after an outburst of anger. (3) The psychologist Franz Alexander s hypothesized in 1839 that
hypertesnisves lack basic assertive skills. Psychological studies have repeatedly backed
Alexander s assertion theory ever since. (4)
High blood pressure is said to be caused by uncontrolled anger, which in turn is caused by a lack of
assertion. If we bottle up our anger now, then we will feel it later. Eventually our arteries will grow
weak and we will remain tense, living daily with treacherous moods and health. The alternative is to
shout out our anger at the world and let it manifest itself any way that it pleases. Of course, taking our
anger out at the world can have even more deleterious effects. People just don t like it when we
demonstrate our anger.
Many of us are taught at an early age to bury our anger

An Alcoholics Anonymous ( Aa ) Meeting Essay
I went to an Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) meeting on November 26, 2016 at noon in Simi Valley, CA.
It was in the back entrance of a strip mall in a long, thin room with tables down the middle and chairs
around the table and around the walls in the room. It is only located four minutes from my house, but I
have never noticed it before. As I walked in there was a little kitchen with coffee and a pecan pie and
there were goodies on the table. I them walked into the main room. A woman led the group for her
first time. Next to her sat the secretary who helped her out. She read some rules about the group and
asked if there were new members. I raised my hand and explained that I was a MFT student and that I
had come to observe the meeting. Everyone welcomed me and were very friendly and supportive.
Others introduced themselves and several were from out of town. Baskets were passed around for
those who wanted to donate. In the rules, it states that there were no dues or fees for AA membership,
but that each AA group was self supporting through their own contributions. Most people donated in a
dollar or two. Then the leader made some announcements. One that I thought was interesting was that
this AA group was going to have meetings all day on Thanksgiving to support those who needed help.
In the evening, there would be a Potluck Thanksgiving dinner. It was mentioned that two people were
bringing turkeys and another person was bringing a ham. I imagine that the holidays would be a

Igbo Women In Chinua Achebe s Things Fall Apart
Chinua Achebe s Things Fall Apart, depicted the culture of the Igbo as well as the roles that men and
women held within the traditional Igbo society. Women were primarily known as the weaker sex ,
therefore they were considered to be submissive and viewed as property among the Igbo clan. Unlike
women, Igbo men were expected to be aggressive, gain individual titles and to provide order in the
clan. Within the Igbo society, women were expected to be submissive toward men, especially their
husbands. When women failed to provide for their husbands, they were disrespected and abused. For
example, Okonkwo s youngest wife did not return home at the correct time to cook the afternoon
meal, which caused him to become angered. He walked back to his obi to await Ojiugo s return. And
when she returned he beat her very heavily (29). I believe the beatings were executed as a way for
men to show their dominance toward women, which led Igbo women to fear the power that their
husbands held within society. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the Igbo culture, farming involved the family as a whole, but women were expected to provide the
most work. As the rains became heavier the women planted maize, melons and beans between the yam
mounds. The women weeded the farm three times at definite periods in the life of the yams, neither
early nor late (33). Another important contribution was that women educated the children through
storytelling. The text stated, Low voices, broken now and again by singing, reached Okonkwo from
his wives huts as each woman and her children told folk stories (96). Children were able to learn
important life lessons and improve their communication skills by retelling the folk story or creating

a court case heard and ruled on by the Supreme Court of the United States. The case dealt with the
constitutionality of the search of a public school student after she had gotten caught smoking in a

intent of sale of drugs. The student fought the charges, stating that the search violated her Fourth

Examples Of Satire In Tartuffe
Tartuffe
Satire is used by many authors to convey different ideas, beliefs, or lessons. There are two different
types of satire. The first type of satire is conveys through light hearted mockery with an underlying
tone of respect, this is referred to as Horatian satire. Another type is Juvenalian satire and that is
portrayed through more serious tone, it is a call to action and is generally driven by a sense of moral
outrage. Tartuffe is a Horatian satire, rather than a Juvenalian satire. This is shown through Tartuffe
and Orgon s relationship, Dorine s character, and the ending.
Tartuffe and Orgon s relationship prove that Tartuffe is a Horatian satire because of Orgon s
obliviousness and Tartuffe s slyness. When the play begins, Molere writes Tartuffe as an innocent guy
who is in love with Mariane and is looked down upon by everyone around him. The audience is lead
to believe that Tartuffe is this charming young man who is a saint and commits no evil. Orgon is
completely enthralled with Tartuffe and he can not wait for him to marry his daughter, Mariane. As the

enjoyed watching this film. I felt like I learned a lot about western life, and the violence that occured.
All of the scenes were very well done, and I did not get bored while watching. The movie seemed very
realistic, especially in the battling scenes. All of the actors in Tombstone did a fascinating job and
portrayed their character very well. I also believe the movie was well put together, and all of the
different scenes flowed together great. Tombstone was very fun to watch, and I learned a lot while
watching it. If I had to rate Tombstone, I would give it 8 stars out of 10. All of the scenes were
entertaining, the acting was excellent, there was not an overload of violence, it was realistic, and it
was put together very well. Although this movie did have a great deal of good points, it did have its
poor ones. At a few points during the movie, I became confused. To be more specific, during the
showdown scene, I was confused on who was a cowboy, and who was not. I also grew confused
during the scene with

Summary Of Song Of A Citizen
The purpose of this assignment was to reflect on the poem Song of a Citizen using critical analysis to
understand the complete meaning of what Milosz has written within the text. The poem Song of a
Citizen is an illuminating reflection on the abominable conditions of the Jewish people and the
suffering they have endured wrapped into a piece on how a prisoner is separated from the natural
world, connected by Milosz s incredible writing ability.
The poem Song of a Citizen is an open book that allows the reader a deep view into the inner
character of its speaker. Firstly, we see many of the speaker s views reflected in the poem s numerous
verses. For example, in verse 9, he says that it is better to be a live dog than a dead lion , which shows
how he has felt and acted in this perilous situation. This could even be taken so far as to say that,
because of the horrors he faced during the war, the speaker feels that it is better to be living than even
to die a courageous death. Additionally, another revealing verse was from 20 25, which symbolized
his continuing relationship with the world. He mentions a copper leaved garden , which can be seen as
a parallel to fall or winter trees, as well as a heart of metal , which could describe the heart of
manufacturing combined with nature. This shows the speaker s character as we see how he connects
nature to freedom and beauty, running a parallel to countless prisoners and captives(including the
Jews) who were separated from nature

Emission Nebulaes
The Milky Way contains billions of stars with different ages and sizes. One example of a star which is
closest to earth is the Sun. Just like all the other stars the sun is a luminous ball of gas which mostly
contains hydrogen and helium and is held together with its own gravity. All the stars produce their
own energy by a process called nuclear fusion. Stars life begins in the place what astronomers call the
Nebulae. A nebula is enormous cloud consisting of dust and gas; mainly hydrogen and helium. There
are three different types of nebulae. The first one is Emission Nebula. Emission Nebulae are usually
red and pink in colour because they are filled with hydrogen gas. The Emission Nebula is very hot

They have no specified mass or size. To this date astronomers have only found evidence of black holes
in two circumstances. However the gravitational pull of the black hole is so strong that nothing can
escape from it, not even light. This image shows a star being sucked in by the black hole. Black holes
are so dense that the density cannot be measured, they also disfigure the around it, and often sucks
matter into them including star no matter how big they are. By definition black holes do not give any
light but when the black hole pulls the star towards itself and tears it apart, the matter of the star it
goes to the black hole, the matter gets faster and hotter and glows. Black holes are weird and if you
get too close to them they are dangerous. Suppose one person is falling into a black hole while another
person watches him fall. The closer the person comes to the black hole the slower his time will run as
for the person watching the other person fall into the black hole his tome will run at a normal pace but
the time for the person falling into the black hole will become slower. However, black holes do have a
life and do not live forever, as the black hole radiates energy it shrink, it radiates more and shrinks,
and finally it reaches at a point where it completely

Lead levels will be listed in ppm (parts per million). It is common to have some lead present in the
soil, and less than 150 ppm is considered safe for use without restrictions. Between 150 and 400 ppm,
take care to wash hands and clothing immediately after gardening, and cover bare soil with mulch or
grass. If a lot is over 400 ppm but below 1000 ppm, use of raised beds with geotextile fabric
underneath or container gardens is allowed. No digging is allowed on lots with lead levels above 400

i. Raised Bed vs. In ground
1. Raised bed gardening has many advantages, especially when gardening in an urban setting. They
allow for better quality soil, more plants per square foot, and less weeding due to a denser canopy
(especially if the soil added to beds is weed free). Working of the soil and garden maintenance are less
strenuous due to the added height of the beds, but usually have to be done by hand. Beds are most
often made of untreated lumber, cinder blocks, or plastic. This type of garden can be ideal for areas
were children or the elderly want to help with upkeep, as the beds are more accessible. Another added
benefit is the ability to adjust the soil or watering habit to a particular set of crops to improve yields. If

Essay On Holy Trinity Cathedral
Holy Trinity Cathedral
On March the 6th ,2016, I visited the Holy Trinity Orthodox Cathedral church in San Francisco. The
site is located in a convenient neighborhood one block south Union St at 1530 Green St. This
Orthodox Church is the oldest Orthodox parish in town, and it is one of the few parishes in northern
California with such a unique shape. The church was designed to show the Russian unique architect,
and its outstanding shape connected to Moscow patriarch. Even though it is a small church, but it
looks stunning where it s placed right in the corner with a two sides street view.
What religious tradition the site is a part of The contemporary Orthodox Church historically connects
to the earliest Christian communities founded in the eastern part of the Mediterranean by Jesus. The

The whole worship is highly liturgical as well as iconographic, both of which are central to the church
s life, history, and practice. The iconic, that include depictions of Jesus, Mary the Virgin, biblical
scenes, and saints, are believed to create an atmosphere where God is present. Strongly the Eastern
Orthodoxy doctrinal places great authority in the Bible, the Creeds, and the seven ecumenical
councils. The Russian Orthodox reflects not only its Orthodox heritage, but also the culture of its
native land. In fact, it also reflects the most central belief in all Christianity is the doctrine of
resurrection. People who follow the Orthodox Church believe that Jesus Christ was crucified and died,
then afterward descended into Hell and returned three days later, fully human and divine. He as well
brought with him the promise of salvation and spiritual immortality, which he gave to every human
being. In the Orthodoxy faith all the religious beliefs are connected directly or indirectly to that core

the risk level, the combination of asset classes in the portfolio might have an investment approach
from conservative to aggressive.

Investors can reallocate the investment based on their own views and changes in life situation. For
example, if an investor changes marital status from single to married, he/she can move to a more
conservative portfolio.

Investors can have a different purpose for the investment which determines the length of the
investment portfolio: o Income (investor wants to have steady monthly/quarterly/annual income)
investment horizon is usually 5 years or less. Example: 70% of investment shares in fixed income and
short term fixed income, and 30% in equities and international equities.

Japanese Anime Stereotypes
Anime is a pervasive medium in Japanese culture. The mainstream popularity of anime extends its
demographic from children to adults. These stories can powerful and heartfelt, but at the same time
portray the negative and harmful stereotypes. Japanese culture is predominantly patriarchal and these
values are reflected in many anime shows through the portrayal of women and girls. In this paper I
shall explore how anime uses the breast as a tool to sexualize and objectify women and girls. First, I
shall map the historical context of breasts in Japan using Chris Kincaid s article Anime s Breast
Obsession Explained . Then I shall use Anne Allison s book Permitted and Prohibited Desires:
Mothers, Comics, and Censorship in Japan to outline how anime as internalized Western, capitalistic
values, but resists sexualization of the maternal breast. Next, I will combine the approaches of
Northrup Davis and Keith Russell to look at how genres and demographics of anime reproduce the
male gaze and portrayals of the breast through fan service.
Before delving into the articles, it is imperative to examine the historical context of the fetishism of
breasts in Japan. During the Edo period, which was around the early 17th to late 19th century, Japan
saw a rise in the creation of openly pornographic art and literature. An example of this kind of art is
called shunga, or erotic woodblock prints (Kincaid). In these carvings, the focus of elaborate detail
was on the genitals of both men and

by maintaining a steady potential of 3.0 V at 60℃ for 2 hours. The Fe Co coating from reline was dark
black in colour, whereas the Fe Co coating from ethaline appeared to show a tint of grey on the
surface. The Fe Co deposits in both liquids were smooth and uniform. Figure 6.3 a and b show the
SEM images of Fe Co deposited from ethaline and reline. It is clear from the images that there is a
variation in morphology from both liquids. The Fe Co coating from reline appears to show a more
nodular shaped structure which is evenly spread on the surface of the copper substrate when compared

  • 2. The, Same Love, By Macklemore, Ryan Lewis, And Mary Lambert Playing God A crowd of sweaty sixth graders eager to get to recess, pushed one another in their haste to get down to the park. My best friend hung back. When I ran back to join him, he looked scared, tears welled in his eyes. He took a deep breath, ready to get something off his chest, and said to me and my friend, You know I like boys right? I shrugged and said, Really? That s okay, lets just go play soccer. Sweet innocence of children somehow gets lost in some when transitioning to adulthood. They turn to hate filled comments, demeaning gay people into think ing that their sexual orientation is something sinful or awful. The music video, Same Love by Macklemore, Ryan Lewis, and Mary Lambert attempts to change the part of society that believes being gay is a choice. Macklemore is known best for his hip hop and rapping style music, and while he keeps the rapping aspect in this music video, this is the first time he delves into deeper social issues. Same Love seeks to portrays one man s life journey dealing with his homosexuali ty, while at the same time challenging viewers to understand that sexual orientation doesn t define a person. Using subtle imagery to appeal to viewer s emotions, Same Love depicts the struggles of the main character and what he has to endure throughout his life. As a teenager, he attempts to fit into the social mold of normality . Panning through a house and into a room of teenagers sit ting on a floral carpet, one girl spins a brown beer ... • 3. Syrian Civil War Research Paper The Cause of the Syrian civil war was the people that wanted a change in government, so they protested. In 2011, successful uprisings that became known as the Arab Spring toppled Tunisia s and Egypt s presidents. This gave hope to Syrian pro democracy activists. That March, peaceful protests erupted in Syria as well, after 15 boys were detained and tortured for writing graffiti in support of the Arab Spring. One of the boys, a 13 year old, was killed after having been brutally tortured. The Syrian government, led by President Bashar al Assad, responded to the protests by killing hundreds of demonstrators and imprisoning many more. The structure housing the alleged reactor was destroyed in an Israeli air raid in 2007. July 2011 President Assad sacks the governor of the northern province of Hama, after mass demonstration there, eventually sending in troops to restore order at the cost of scores of lives. In October the same year new Syrian national council says it has forged a common front of internal and exiled opposition activists. • 4. Honeywell Building Controls Division (BCD) INTRODUCTION Honeywell Building Controls Division (BCD) was split after the Residential and Building Controls Division lost money in 1981. The new BCD was created with a hope for a profitable business. In order to get more market share, in 1984 the BCD started to build Mod IV; the great promised product with better quality of its motor and cost reduction. The BCD built the cross functional Mod IV team combined from manufacturing, marketing/sales, and engineering. In addition, to be more competitive, the BCD dropped sequential development in favor of the parallel development with a desire for faster and better products. The skate was high but the BCD had an inferior Product Development that slowed them down. The inferior product ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In effect, the development process is squeezed together (e.g., Clark Fujimoto, 1991). For the Mod IV team, there was not a problem solving strategy. The project team did not have a plan or discussed about the problem solving strategy in their team meeting. For example, when project team had a lot of semantic issues, they did not even know about it (e.g., Brown Eisenhardt, 1995). Without problem solving strategy, project team could not avoid errors later in the product development process. Hence, Mod IV was having problem meeting schedule for both design and production. In conclusion, the unaffected project team wasted resources, caused delay, and could not avoid errors. In addition, a weak project leader could spell problem for Mod IV product development. In this paper, we will take a look at two characteristics of the project leader. One central characteristic is the power of the project leader (e.g., Brown Eisenhardt, 1995). By powerful leaders we mean those project leaders with significant decision making responsibility, organization wide authority, and high hierarchical level (e.g., Brown Eisenhardt, 1995). • 6. Popular Vote Dbq History has shown us that some leaders are great and others are not. Such as George Washington who was a great leader and the people loved him. King George III did not have a great reputation in the colonies of America. They were not happy with how he was leading and taxing the colonies. After America became free, a new way of electing a leader was needed. At first America used the popular vote to elect leaders and then the people in smaller states started to get upset. They felt as if they were dirt on the bottom of everybody s shoe and they were not appreciated. So on February 1, 1877 the United States of America created the Electoral College. The Electoral College was created to give the smaller states more power to help make decision ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There are a larger number of votes because of all the people that live in the United States today. Many of them are from other countries and are separated into where they are from. The popular vote is what is decided for the state. It helps the representatives of the state to says which candidate to vote for. The Electoral College came into the United States in 1877, however that is the way that the U.S. has been voting for presidents ever since the Electoral College was invented. Only five presidents have won without the popular vote, now that could be for many reasons. Such as the representatives decided to vote opposite of the popular vote or it would mean that one party leads more of the country than the other. Then the country could be able to pass bills or agree with each other. I think that the Electoral College is needed. It helps the U.S. determine who the next president is. It takes the popular vote and tells how the section of the state is voting. The states have a certain amount of electors to use and that will tell whether the stated voted Republican or Democratic. Many people run for the president each time there is an election and the people always have a favorite. In 2016 it was Hillary Clinton; she lost to Donald Trump who did not have the popular vote. She was predicted to win the whole election. However that was not the case. The Electoral College said otherwise and said that Donald Trump won instead of Hillary. It was the second time for this to happen in 16 years, before Trump it was George Bush who won without the popular ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In the movie Avatar, the Na vi are humanoids species native to Pandora, standing 6 feet tall with blue skin and a long tail; But one of the characters, Parker Selfridge from the human world, a selfish and greedy man, refers the Na vi as blue monkeys and savages . The Na vi natives are very spiritual believers and they believe all living beings in Pandora lives in unity. Every living creature that is born on Pandora has neural connection fibers. Not only Humanoids and animals have these neural connection fibers but also trees which allows all breathing creatures to plug in to each other s neural system network. This lets them feel each other s thoughts and emotions. In the movie, Jake Sully, a human man, is connected to the Na vi world by a computer generated machine that links his mind with his avatar body which could interact with the natives of Pandora. He finds himself feeling more connected with himself in his avatar body than his actual body in the real world; For the reason that in the real world, he is paralyzed and can t walk so he feels handicapped. • 9. Elephant Poaching Essay Elephant Poaching We are experiencing what is likely to be the greatest percentage loss of elephants in history, said Richard G. Ruggiero, an official with the United States Fish and Wildlife Service (Ney York Times; December 3, 2012). The poaching of elephants started in the late 1800 s and is still happening today. People are slaughtering these majestic animals for their ivory tusks. Ivory has been sold on the black market for millions of dollars. Before the start of ivory poaching there were millions of elephants in the world in both Africa and India, but today because of the hunting for ivory, there are barely any of these giants left in the wild. It is a tragedy beyond reckoning and humanity needs to pay attention to the plight of the elephants before it is too late said Cyril Christo (CNN; February3, 2013). This world wide known tragedy has probed other countries to donate money, campaign, and educate to create an avenue for the awareness of Save the Elephants (www.savetheelephants.org). There are organizations around the globe designed to stop elephant poaching. Their intent is to sway people s opinions to help with the world wide problem. Only a global ban on the sale of ivory would take the heat off of these massive creatures. Solutions might include, addressing the involvement of international criminal institutes by means of strong law enforcement at both national and international levels along the full extent of the supply. Closing down domestic (national) markets in ivory, would also be beneficial. Countries could embrace the trade ban, and educate consumers in order to stem the demand for ivory (Bloody Ivory; January 11, 2013). Just imagine life without any elephants, wiped out just like the dinosaurs. In the early 1980 s, there were more than a million reported elephants in Africa. Tragically, during that decade, 600,000 elephants were destroyed for ivory products. Today, conceivably no more than 400,000 elephants remain across the continent. Likewise, in research center tests, white trial judges, hold implicit bias against black individuals (Brown, 2016). In any case, literature has shown that judges could defeat those biases with actual effort. Race differences in criminal involvement and racial patterns in the criminal justice system have been important topics since the beginning of American criminology (Alessandro, 2016). All the stories are aimed at the 25 40 s and wouldn t suit any other audience, old or young. It does have a few adverts, advertising perfume, house interior and food. This is appropriate advertising in this magazine. If it had adverts on football boots costing £99, it would be a waste of space and the makers would not make any profit at all. It would be getting the audience wrong and would show un professionalism. In all the pictures, apart from the photos that where not organized with the celebrity, the people involved in the photo are always looking into the camera lens and smiling. This makes the person look like they are smiling at you and shows that in the interview, they were upbeat, friendly and having a good time. People have been documented feeling anger since biblical times when God was considered angry. Babies even exhibit signs that are interpreted as anger, such as crying or screaming. Anger is not in any way unique to people. Animals also have the ability to feel and express anger. In our personal lives we get angry over at least one thing on almost a daily basis, whether it be on the job, with a spouse or loved one, or perhaps with a figure of authority. Many psychologists have written about anger, discussing the relationship between anger and fear. Each of the individuals that comprise humanity possesses at least one phobia, in the same way that each is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The authors of When Anger Hurts: Anger in Modern Life explain the complications that chronic anger can create. Doctors have long suspected that anger increases the blood rate. Many scientists now point out that norepinepherine, the drug that is secreted during anger, increases blood pressure as well. Anger and abnormally high blood pressure are correlated; and high blood pressure leads to many forms of heart disease. In a recent study 1,623 patients were interviewed an average of four days after they had suffered a heart attack following an outburst of anger. The study showed that the risk of suffering a heart attack is doubled after an outburst of anger. (3) The psychologist Franz Alexander s hypothesized in 1839 that hypertesnisves lack basic assertive skills. Psychological studies have repeatedly backed Alexander s assertion theory ever since. (4) High blood pressure is said to be caused by uncontrolled anger, which in turn is caused by a lack of assertion. If we bottle up our anger now, then we will feel it later. Eventually our arteries will grow weak and we will remain tense, living daily with treacherous moods and health. The alternative is to shout out our anger at the world and let it manifest itself any way that it pleases. Of course, taking our anger out at the world can have even more deleterious effects. People just don t like it when we demonstrate our anger. Many of us are taught at an early age to bury our anger ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It was in the back entrance of a strip mall in a long, thin room with tables down the middle and chairs around the table and around the walls in the room. It is only located four minutes from my house, but I have never noticed it before. As I walked in there was a little kitchen with coffee and a pecan pie and there were goodies on the table. I raised my hand and explained that I was a MFT student and that I had come to observe the meeting. Everyone welcomed me and were very friendly and supportive. Others introduced themselves and several were from out of town. Baskets were passed around for those who wanted to donate. In the rules, it states that there were no dues or fees for AA membership, but that each AA group was self supporting through their own contributions. Most people donated in a dollar or two. Then the leader made some announcements. One that I thought was interesting was that this AA group was going to have meetings all day on Thanksgiving to support those who needed help. In the evening, there would be a Potluck Thanksgiving dinner. It was mentioned that two people were bringing turkeys and another person was bringing a ham. I imagine that the holidays would be a ... Igbo Women In Chinua Achebe s Things Fall Apart Chinua Achebe s Things Fall Apart, depicted the culture of the Igbo as well as the roles that men and women held within the traditional Igbo society. Women were primarily known as the weaker sex , therefore they were considered to be submissive and viewed as property among the Igbo clan. Unlike women, Igbo men were expected to be aggressive, gain individual titles and to provide order in the clan. Within the Igbo society, women were expected to be submissive toward men, especially their husbands. When women failed to provide for their husbands, they were disrespected and abused. For example, Okonkwo s youngest wife did not return home at the correct time to cook the afternoon meal, which caused him to become angered. He walked back to his obi to await Ojiugo s return. And when she returned he beat her very heavily (29). I believe the beatings were executed as a way for men to show their dominance toward women, which led Igbo women to fear the power that their husbands held within society. ... • 20. Examples Of Satire In Tartuffe Tartuffe Satire is used by many authors to convey different ideas, beliefs, or lessons. There are two different types of satire. The first type of satire is conveys through light hearted mockery with an underlying tone of respect, this is referred to as Horatian satire. Another type is Juvenalian satire and that is portrayed through more serious tone, it is a call to action and is generally driven by a sense of moral outrage. Tartuffe is a Horatian satire, rather than a Juvenalian satire. This is shown through Tartuffe and Orgon s relationship, Dorine s character, and the ending. Tartuffe and Orgon s relationship prove that Tartuffe is a Horatian satire because of Orgon s obliviousness and Tartuffe s slyness. When the play begins, Molere writes Tartuffe as an innocent guy who is in love with Mariane and is looked down upon by everyone around him. The audience is lead to believe that Tartuffe is this charming young man who is a saint and commits no evil. • 22. Summary Of Song Of A Citizen The purpose of this assignment was to reflect on the poem Song of a Citizen using critical analysis to understand the complete meaning of what Milosz has written within the text. The poem Song of a Citizen is an illuminating reflection on the abominable conditions of the Jewish people and the suffering they have endured wrapped into a piece on how a prisoner is separated from the natural world, connected by Milosz s incredible writing ability. The poem Song of a Citizen is an open book that allows the reader a deep view into the inner character of its speaker. Firstly, we see many of the speaker s views reflected in the poem s numerous verses. For example, in verse 9, he says that it is better to be a live dog than a dead lion , which shows how he has felt and acted in this perilous situation. This could even be taken so far as to say that, because of the horrors he faced during the war, the speaker feels that it is better to be living than even to die a courageous death. Additionally, another revealing verse was from 20 25, which symbolized his continuing relationship with the world. He mentions a copper leaved garden , which can be seen as a parallel to fall or winter trees, as well as a heart of metal , which could describe the heart of manufacturing combined with nature. This shows the speaker s character as we see how he connects nature to freedom and beauty, running a parallel to countless prisoners and captives(including the Jews) who were separated from nature ... • 31. Japanese Anime Stereotypes Anime is a pervasive medium in Japanese culture. The mainstream popularity of anime extends its demographic from children to adults. These stories can powerful and heartfelt, but at the same time portray the negative and harmful stereotypes. Japanese culture is predominantly patriarchal and these values are reflected in many anime shows through the portrayal of women and girls. In this paper I shall explore how anime uses the breast as a tool to sexualize and objectify women and girls. First, I shall map the historical context of breasts in Japan using Chris Kincaid s article Anime s Breast Obsession Explained . Then I shall use Anne Allison s book Permitted and Prohibited Desires: Mothers, Comics, and Censorship in Japan to outline how anime as internalized Western, capitalistic values, but resists sexualization of the maternal breast. Next, I will combine the approaches of Northrup Davis and Keith Russell to look at how genres and demographics of anime reproduce the male gaze and portrayals of the breast through fan service. Before delving into the articles, it is imperative to examine the historical context of the fetishism of breasts in Japan. During the Edo period, which was around the early 17th to late 19th century, Japan saw a rise in the creation of openly pornographic art and literature. An example of this kind of art is called shunga, or erotic woodblock prints (Kincaid). In these carvings, the focus of elaborate detail was on the genitals of both men and ...
