Why Did John Patler Kill George Rockwell
On August 25, 1967, John Patler shot George Lincoln Rockwell through the window of his car, . John
Patler was waiting for George Rockwell to come out of the laundromat, on top of a hair salon across
the street.Rockwell was the founder and leader of the, American Nazi Party. George Rockwell was a
White Nationalist and supported the 14 WORDS, which is a 14 word slogan that goes: We must
secure the existence of our people and a future for White Children. George Rockwell despised black
people, but was willing to become allies with one, Elijah Muhammad, because he had shared the same
goals. In, 1960 s George Rockwell was considered a joke by many of his non followers. Today,
George Rockwell is still a distant thought placed in the backs of our minds. This is only because John
Patler killed Rockwell, before he could make serious damage in our history. George Rockwell s
murder is justified, because he was a crazy man who was capable of doing ... Show more content on

George Rockwell s original name for the Party was, World union of Free Enterprise Socialist Union.
Rockwell changed the name to, The American Nazi Party, so it would gain more national attention.
The plans for the Party revolved around Hitlers ideals and ways, during the holocaust. Rockwell s
hopes were to demolish all Jews and gain presidency, The Jews are Through in 72! , an often repeated
slogan of the times, represented the high hopes then expressed for his bid for the presidency of the
United States. In 1964 he ran as a write in candidate for presidency and received a measly 212 votes.
To promote his Nazi cause Rockwell wrote several forms of hate literature, including: Party
propaganda material included books and pamphlets by Rockwell, and a number of 45 RPM singles on
the Hatenanny label, including records by Odis Cochran and the Three Bigots, sold through mail order

Moral Chaos in Harper Lee s Maycomb Essay
Harper Lee argues in her novel, To Kill a Mockingbird, that the moral obligations of a court are
thrown aside in favor of the law that lies in the minds of men. She describes her characters in such a
manner that alludes to their inner thoughts. Through practiced repetition, the citizens of Maycomb
force the existence of the social inequality that is white supremacy. Whether by following lead or by
ignoring the problem altogether, it is the people alone who allow injustices to occur. In a public appeal
for an era of tolerance, Harper Lee attacks Southern racism through Scout Finch s narration of her
father s failure to correct a corrupt legal system dominated by prejudiced citizens seeking to rule the
law by their own hands. Tom ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Robinson s death is preordained as nothing could come between a terrified jury of Southern farmers
with daughters of their own facing a black man accused of rape. Though by a false accusation, the jury
condemns Tom because, for a black man, a sexual advance to a white woman was a certain invitation
to a tortured death, says Lisa Lindquist Dorr, assistant professor at the University of Alabama (95).
Though seen as innocent by some, including possibly Robinson s defense attorney, Atticus, Robinson
still confronts his jury of poor whites who spite him simply because of racial differences; they fail to
see another explanation of the suspected crime because of their narrow minded simplicity. Being
uneducated, the jury fails to understand the message which Atticus tries to convey. Countering the
unintelligent jury, the prosecuting attorney and court judge see little evidence in Robinson s guilt,
making it blatantly obvious that Bob Ewell, the town drunkard is an irrational fool. Though given
irrefutable evidence of Tom s innocence, the poor, white jury still convicts him because of the strained
relationship between their class and his, along with the fear that he may rape one of their own
daughters. The fact that an intelligent judge and both attorneys realized that Robinson committed no
crime highlights the blind rage which the fearful jury of White farmers would have used like a

The Convergence Of Methods Of Storing Files
Americans today have seen the progression from old media to new media; majority, experiencing for
themselves the transition from pagers to cell phones, cassettes to iPods, or paper maps to GPS devices.
According to Henry Jenkins, who studies media convergence, this Convergence [where old and new
media collide] represents a cultural shift as consumers are encouraged to seek out new information
and make connections among dispersed media content (Jenkins 457). It is through the help of
convergence that old media has developed into the new media Americans see today. The convergence
of methods of storing files is an example of this. Storing files online, is taking the old media, a USB
Flash Drive, and converging it into a new digital ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Dropbox is a cloud storage service; a business that overlooks a users data and makes that data
accessible online. Because Dropbox has introduced people to the idea of accessing wireless data, this
reveals how this type of new media has changed the way that content is produced, distributed, and
consumed. Although the use of either a USB Flash Drive (old media) or Dropbox (new media)
maintains the same objective, that is, to provide people with alternate methods of storing data,
Dropbox is becoming a standard way of accessing data with the use of the internet as a platform. This
in turn, benefits Dropbox users somewhat.
One benefit of transitioning from a USB Flash Drive to Dropbox is that Dropbox allows easy access to
documents. Dropping files into Dropbox essentially stores these files on the online cloud, where users
can access their files anywhere and at any time as long as users have access to internet connection.
There are three methods in which Dropbox users can easily access their documents. The first is
through the Dropbox website. Users could simply sign in and upload a document they would like to
save or download an already saved file, make revisions to it, and upload the revised document.
Another way Dropbox allows easy access to documents is by linking a users Dropbox account to their
mobile device. This could

Substance History:
Ms. Kelly is a nondrinker, smokes five cigarettes per day and uses recreational grade cannabis for pain
and sleep daily.
On admission, Ms. Kelly complained of low back pain ranging in intensity from 7 to 8, out of 10, on
the pain scale where 0 is no pain and 10 is the worst imaginable pain. She subjectively describes this
pain as throbbing, stabbing, burning and radiating down into both legs, left worse than right. In
addition, she has sharp, stabbing, burning pain in both her arms, left worse than right, and experiences
intermittent tingling and numbness sensations in both her hands. She has pain in her neck and shoulder

To treat symptoms of insomnia or anxiety, she has had trials of lorazepam, clonazepam and
temazepam, and in 2016, quetiapine in doses of 25 50mg per day was prescribed.
In reviewing medications, Ms. Kelly mentioned that many of the drugs previously prescribed were
either not effective in relieving the pain or caused her to feel unwell. While taking morphine, she
frequently experienced stomach upset, nausea and constipation. In the past year, she decided on her
own initiative to wean herself off morphine and she does not plan to resume taking opioids for her
chronic pain problems.
Past trials of adjuvant pain medications may have failed to control the pain because of factors such as
a sub therapeutic dose or duration of the medication. We reviewed the role of duloxetine in the
management of both neuropathic and nociceptive pain conditions and suggested a retrial of this SNRI.
She agreed with our recommendation and began a 2 week trial of duloxetine, 30mg/day, which she
tolerated well, thus; her dose was subsequently increased to 60mg/day, the usual effective dose for
both pain and mood.
During her admission, we also discussed trialing a course of oral cannabinoids as an alternative
treatment as she does have chronic pain with

Summary Of Hate Poem By Julie Sheehan
ANALYSIS: Hate Poem by Julie Sheehan is about the hate someone has towards another. Throughout
the poem Sheehan expresses her feeling of hate by describing the feeling with daily actions and her
use of punctuation. The purpose of punctuation is to separate or continue sentences. The punctuation
is a representation of the change of emotion throughout the poem and also symbolises the relationship
towards her and the other person. The first part of the poem only uses periods, I hate you truly. Truly I
do , symbolising the end to the relationship. The second is different from the first part, using both
commas and periods, Layers of hate, a parfait , symbolising that this relationship is still surviving . In
the first part of the poem, all

The Greatest Pass Rusher Of College Football
By: Daryan Jessie
The greatest pass rusher in college football today said Coach Tom Osborne of the Nebraska,
Cornhuskers. Have you ever heard of the biggest ovation you never heard. 73,650 fans all for a single
deaf person named Kenny Walker. It was his last game for university and he was going on to the
Denver Broncos.
Kenny Walker was born in april 6th, 1967, in Crane, TX. He became deaf at the age of 2, from spinal
meningitis. He was offered a football scholarship from the University of Nebraska
Rare is it that warmth crowds wrath for the spotlight when the Nebraska Cornhuskers and the
Colorado Buffaloes crack helmets in their annual Big Eight showdown. Yet that was the mood this
season at chilly Memorial Stadium in Lincoln as fans applauded loudly every senior playing his final
home game.
Nothing matched the reception waiting Kenny Walker, however. He received the biggest ovation you
never heard. There was no applause. When Walker ran onto the field for the last time, he saw Big Red
fans thanking him in sign language. They were deaf clapping, a majority of the 73,650 using a hand
gesture to show affection that went far beyond Walker s crunching tackles and sacks as an All America
lineman. Their arms raised, appropriately, like a referee signaling touchdown and their wrists rotating
counterclockwise, the fans applauded Walker.
Deaf since contracting spinal meningitis at 2, Walker had inspired the Midwest, publicly sharing his

Why Is Beowulf So Famous
The story Beowulf takes place of some interesting things. In this story you will meet many different
and interesting people. This book is very fun to read. Scyld of Scefing the first king of the Danes and
great grandfather to Hrothgar. Scefing was a very brave king. Hrothgar was also a really barve king.
He has been giving to the people since his dad was alive. The main reason Hrothgar was so famous is
because he built a mead hall. He named that mead hall Heorot. This mead hall attracted so many
people. Grendel was the beast that attacked the mead hall. One night while everyone was celebrating
the mead hall and singing about God and how God created the world, Grendel got mad. Grendel is
against God and worships the devil. So one night

During investigating a crime scene there is very important databases that can help make or break a
case. Some examples of certain databases they use are National Integrated Ballistic Information
Network (NIBIN), The Integrated Automated Fingerprint Identification System (IAFIS), and
Combined DNA Index System (CODIS). Using these certain databases can help you solve a crime
more efficiently because you can find answers you need more quickly with the technology that is now
provided.
The first database NIBIN was created in 1999 and as of right now is the only database that allows us
to be able to compare to ballistics. This database is critical for any violent crime. Since NIBIN was
created they have taken about 2.8 million ballistic images and have has thousands of hits. NIBIN
provides a very quick way to efficiently evaluate ballistics. To use this database, you enter the bullets
cartridge casing into the system then law enforcement is able to use that and compare against evidence
they have and compare to find matches near and far. The bad thing about this database ... Show more

three ways that is can be used and how it s helpful. First is the criminal history this database keeps is a
wide range of fingerprints, photographs and information on people who work for the government.
Next it provides positive fingerprint identification. Lastly it can provide identification just by

or introversion, sensing or intuition, thinking or feeling, and judging or perceiving. This assessment is
used for normal functioning individuals.
The Myers Briggs Type Indicator showed reliability by using the test retest method. This method
showed a reliability ranging from .57 .81. This test was tested for validity as well. It was tested against
many other similar types of assessments to prove validity. All of the scores correlated to prove
validity.
The Myers Briggs is a written at a seventh grade level. This could put people who can t read up to a

APA Style Analysis
APA Style Sample
APA (American Psychological Association) style is primarily used in the social science disciplines. It
is formatted like MLA, and shows many similarities, but is unique in several key points.
APA uses parenthetical (or in text) citations within sentences, but rather than indicating the author s
name and page number, APA includes author s name and date of publication. The page number,
represented with a p. or a pp., is only added to the citation when using a direct quote (not a summary
or paraphrase). If the author s name is mentioned in the sentence, then place the date of publication in
parentheses directly after the name. If the name is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
All of the interviewees have been called exceptions to the norm (Strong amp; Porter, 1998, p. 565).
Note the first example paraphrases an author that is named in the sentence, the second example
paraphrases authors that are not named in the sentence, and the third example provides a direct quote
(thus the inclusion of the page numbers) but also does not identify the authors within the sentence. If
the authors were identified within the sentence in the third example, the authors names would be
followed by the year of publication and only the page numbers would be in the parentheses at the end
of the quote.
Finally, the bibliographic page in APA style differs from MLA, what APA calls the Reference page.
You will notice a few immediate differences from the MLA Works Cited format. With APA you
include the initial of the author s first name rather than the complete name, the publication date
immediately follows the author s name in parentheses, and titles of articles are not surrounded with
quotation marks (however titles of books, magazines, journals, etc are still underlined). The lists are
still alphabetized by author s last name (or title in the absence of an author) and the first line is flush
left while subsequent lines in the same entry are indented in (approximately 5 spaces or one tab). For
journals and magazines, publication title and volume number are both underlined,

A comparison of poems by Wilfred Owen Dulce et Decorum Est and Anthem for Doomed Youth
Wilfred Owen fought in the ww1. He enrolled into army at an early age which was probably
influenced by the government s enticing and false advertising. However in the trenches Owen soon
discovered the reality of war and how horrific the war was. At first he started to take notes about the
conditions. Then later in a military hospital he edited and turned these notes into poetry.
Dulce et Decorum Est is a Latin saying widely used and understood, often at the beginning of ww1.

In the final stanza Owen writes as if the reader could see the bodies of the deceased soldiers, they
would not stop sending young men to war, nor would they tell their children the old lie with such high
zest . In the poem Owen uses the first and the second persons; he uses the first and second persons to
make the reader think that what he is talking about in the poem he witnessed. He uses for example we
, I and me . Owen uses the second person when he wants to make us reflect on the cruel reality of was.
We can see the third person when Owen is describing how the soldiers are going to fight.
Dulce et Decorum Est Owen uses a lot of powerful imagery in this poem. He conveys his thoughts
through the use of descriptive language techniques such as: metaphors, alliteration and similes.
Metaphors are used to. Alliteration makes the reader remember certain phrases, Knock kneed , men
marched and GAS! GAS! these are all examples of alliteration and Owen is trying to hammer in the
point. Imagine
Anthem for Doomed Youth is one of Wilfred Owens best known poems. It s about the fallen soldiers
who didn t receive their proper burials and it was as if the young soldiers were just sent there to die
just like cattle, for these who died as cattle . This aimed at ww1 however I believe that this poem
could be used to relate to soldiers today.

Organizational Structures Have Impacted Organizational...
Organizational structures have changed greatly in the last fifty years. Whereas most organizations
were once rigid and centralized, most organizations are now taking advantage of flexible and
decentralized structures. These new structures have affected the standard relationships between
employees and managers. Additional layers of management have been created which blur the lines
between the functions of managers and the functions of employees. Employees have become decision
makers, and some managers barely have any authoritative power. Subsequently, these changes to
organizational structures have impacted organizational strategies. This too, expounds upon the
increased power of the employee and the reduced authority of the manager. The changes in
organizational strategies make use of the dispersion of power in order to reduce costs and enable
additional safeguards within these organizations.
Pertaining to the neoteric avant garde in bureaucratic concatenations from parochial to insouciant,
more unerringly decentralization and the divergence of paramountcy, nuclear transmogrifications have
germinated which perturb the paradigmatic consanguinity betwixt suzerains and proletariats. For
example, employees are now often given a budget with which they can use to rectify an issue that a
customer may have. To illustrate, an up and coming grocery store called The Fresh Market grants each
employee the power to provide free merchandise to any customer, up to a twenty five dollar

Sex Tourism In Thailand Essay
Sex tourism examines the issues that emerge from a sex worker (prostitute) and tourist
(farang/customer) interactions. Sex Tourism is progressively spreading and it is now a worldwide
subject matter that every country can relate to some way or the other. Sex tourism it has been around
for decades and it has grown more widespread. This industry is very well understood by the tourist. It
is not formally publicized; it is rather through informal exchanges, word of mouth and internet, that
the farang gets to know who to see and where to go. In Thailand sex tourism is a main source of
income for many rural families. These families are poor and the fact that the state of the economy of
the country is bad it makes the situation worse. In this analytical essay, I will argue the cause and
origin of prostitution as a result of the Current economic status in Thailand.
Sex tourism, for the vast majority, conjures up an image of red light districts in places like Amsterdam
and Patpong Bangkok. However, the historical backdrop of sex tourism dates back to the time of the
industrial revolution era (1820s 1840s). During the Vietnam war, a large number of U.S soldiers were
involved in the boom of the brothels industry and organized prostitutions. According to class lectures,
the U.S government allowed the soldiers to go to Thailand for Rest and Recreation (R R). (holiday sex

Scottish Nobles, Robert Bruce XVII, and the Scottish clans to take up arms as a united front against

Why Braveheart?
Braveheart and the character William Wallace explain how courage, passion, and inspiration can
motivate people to unite against a common threat even when the odds of success are low. Additionally,
the story of William Wallace illustrates how leadership traits can have a long lasting effect. William
Wallace stays true to his beliefs with such dedication that even under the pressure of torture; he is

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Limestone Caves
and minimized?
A Cave:
Caves, also known as karsts, are very unique and are a special part of our natural environment. Caves
form over a long period of time, 1000 of years (National Geographic, 2015). Caves are made up of
rock, ranging from volcanic to limestone. Limestone caves are more pleasing to the eye as they
usually contain more decoration such as stalactites, Shawls and Straws. As limestone caves are more
decorated they are more prone to damage and deformation (Science Kids, 2016).
Damaged caused by humans in caves:
Humans are causing great damage to limestone caves, some of which the caves themself cannot
recover from. Physical damage by humans has the greatest impact on caves (Bob Robins, 2005) There
are many ways humans have and continue to still damage caves, Majority of people assume that the
main damage to caves is through touching formations (Caving ,Survey 2017) However there are many
other factors that damage the cave just as badly such as graffiti, modernising caves and rainfall.
Tourist caves undergo the most damage (G.Enriquez, B, 2001)with lost formations, climate changes,
and urbanising the caves. Limestone caves are more susceptible to damage from a change in climate
than volcanic caves due to the rock type. When tourists enter caves they can create thermal
annomalies, the anomalies effect the overall temperature in the cave and this in turn effects the
production of formations. (FECYT, 2011). A research investigation undertaken by the University of

Description Of A Database Management System
Chris Velasquez
MGMT 329
Final Research Paper to Pass
A database is an organized collection of data. It is the collection of tables, queries, reports, viewings,
and other objects. The data are typically organized to model aspects of reality in a way that supports
processes requiring information, such as modelling the structure of a major business such as Walmart,
and all of its data including things like their inventory, customers, and their employees. A database
management system is a computer software application that interacts with the user, other applications,
and the database itself to capture and analyze data. A general purpose database management system is
designed to allow the definition, creation, querying, update, and administration of databases. The
Database uses terms that are key for anyone to sift through the collection of data that any company or
business collects. terminology consists of keywords that will help users select desired pieces of data.
The primary key is a special relational database table column of a collection of columns appointed to
individually identify all table records. The primary key s main features include: it cannot contain a
unique value for each row of data, and it cannot contain null values. The primary key is either an
existing table column or a column that is explicitly initiated by the database according to a defined
sequence. The foreign key is a column or group of columns in a relational database table that

Steve Jobs Rule
A rule to live by. Well what is a rule to live by? This is the rule that suits you the best. It motivates you
everyday, and when you are in a tough situation, you can call on it to help you. The rule that I use to
live by is that when life gives you a problem, make the most out of it. This is very important to me.
Life is never a walk in the park. There are always problems that everyone face, whether they are
personal, or global. Many problems such as depression, hunger, or even disability hurt people every
day. Many people let these problems take over their lives. But, when I face a problem, I remember this
fundamental, and make the best out of the situation. Throughout my life, this moral has been very
important to me.
Without this rule, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Even some of the richest most famous people face problems that they have to overcome. Look at
Steve Jobs, who faced many problems in his life. One of his problems was that when he was the co
founder of Apple, they fired him at age 30. In a speech that Steve jobs recited at Stanford, he said
What had been the focus of my entire life was gone, and it was devastating, (Jobs page 3). He knew
this was his problem, because he did not know what to do next. Steve Jobs could have quit technology
forever, but he came back and made a new company of his own. He made the most out of his problem.
In his speech he said I started a company named Pixar, and fell in love with an amazing woman who
would become my wife. Pixar went on to create the world s first computer animated feature film, Toy
Story, and is now the most successful animation studio in the world, (Jobs page 3). This speech is a
key example of this rule to live by. This rule is important, because even when you are facing a
problem, the outcome could still be successful. This is a real life example of this rule to live by that
everyone can relate to. This can tie into fear of failure. Being fired from Apple rattled Steve Jobs. But
when we face a problem I think we all can say it takes us by surprise. This guideline can help us learn
how to problem solve and make the most out of the

Effects of Outsourcing Jobs to Overseas
Because of outsourcing jobs to overseas many American workers lost their jobs or compelled to work
for much less compensation. This trend leads to the shrinkage of middle class income bracket and the
reduction of the family s standard of living. Besides, due to the elusive future employment status and
the financial problems, many people have to live hand to mouth, and many more have to cut their
expenditures in order to survive this dreadful and unpleasant situation. More importantly, the
reduction in spending money and the deterioration of consumer confidence can hurt the economy
severely and exacerbate the situation.
Reich in his article Why Rich are Getting Richer and the Poor, Poorer divides the U.S. professions
into three major categories: routine producers, in person servers and symbolic analysts and described
the process and likelihood of outsourcing these professions.
Routine producers such as manufacturers are the ones in the real risk of losing their jobs as a result of
outsourcing since the technological advancements have put them in positions that they have to
compete with millions of routine workers in other nations who are willing to work for a much lower
wage than their counterparts in America. Therefore, the majority of U.S. routine jobs have moved to

Sacrifice In The Second Star Trek Film
In the second Star Trek movie, the late Leonard Nimoy portrays the always logical Vulcan, Spock. In
the film, he sacrifices himself for the ship, and when Caption Kirk finds out, Spock explains his self

Jules Verne Research Essay
Jules Verne: the prodigy of Science Fiction
Science, my lad, is made up of mistakes, but they are mistakes which it is useful to make, because
they lead little by little to the truth. (Jules Verne). The genre of science fiction can be related to science
in this way. Jules Verne was one of the most influential people to the genre of science fiction, and has
been accredited with many things that deal with the genre.
In Jules Verne s early life, he was very outgoing. He was born on February 8, 1828 in Nantes France.
He was also the son of a father who was a lawyer and had 3 siblings. His family was very average for

This story is about a guy named Phileas Fogg, and his servant Passepartout. In this book, they make
many perilous journeys together. A procession of Brahmins is coming this way (Around the World in

it around the world in eighty days. Phileas Fogg is a very precise and accurate person and thinks he
can do this with his servant, Passepartout. He made a bet, and if he makes it around the world in
eighty days, he will win 20,000 pounds. If he doesn t, he will be left as a very poor man with barely
any money left in his bank account. Was this Phileas Fogg rich, undoubtedly. But the best informed
could not say how he had made his money, and Mr. Fogg was the last person to whom it would have
been proper to go for information. He was by no means extravagant in anything, neither was he
avaricious, for when money was needed for the noble, useful, or benevolent purpose, he gave it
quietly, and even anonymously (Around the World in 80 Days 2). He was a rich man before he left for
his journey, but he spent so much money on the journey that he would be poor without winning the
bet. He also rescues a maiden on his way back to london and she ends up going on the journey with
the two. The project was a difficult one... beyond the reach of the bullets and arrows ( Around the

The Education Of The United States And China
Modifying Education in the United States and China
Perhaps there is nothing more imperative to the success of a nation today than the education of its
people; developed education leads to innovation, an improved economy, and, possibly most
importantly, a confidence from society about government. The rise of every great nation has been
preceded by advancing education. Although education has been mostly examined from the perspective
of higher education in the past, this lens fails to provide an adequate picture of the average citizen.
Students now attend higher education at larger percentages than they did 50 years ago; nevertheless,
the only mandatory education that a citizen receives is as a minor, under the age of 18. Developed

Nonetheless, China s leaders have done a magnificent job, particularly in the last 10 years, of
changing international perception about their international goals and their trustworthiness. More
people around the world have a positive image of China now than they have had in the past 50 years.
The United States, on the other hand, has seen a decrease in their global status since the 1980 s.
Although it remains a Superpower, more and more American citizens believe that their days as a
hegemon are behind them and that their leadership on the world stage is diminishing. This dying belief
in American exceptionalism is a problem for the US. In order to achieve many of its domestic and
international goals, a democratic government needs the support of its people, and if the people decide
they are no longer capable of, or interested in, being the world leader, their position at the top is
unsustainable. In the future, this waning attitude of exceptionalism is likely to change the way that
America interacts with both its allies and its adversaries.
Despite their differences in language and culture, China and the United States actually have many
striking similarities, one of them being that they are two of the most populated countries in the world.
Although the population of China is more than threefold that of the US, both countries understand the
struggle of protecting and providing for an enormous

Beer Simulation
Root Beer Simulation At the outset, I have to acknowledge that I had a problem with this simulation.
Initially, in my first two orders, I confused the backlog and inventory sections, so that I believed I had
a significant surplus in inventory. Therefore, rather than minimizing the bullwhip of supply and
demand, I exacerbated the problem by limiting my supply well below the number of orders coming in,
much less below what I could fill with the backlog and incoming orders. This error on my part
certainly led to increasing instability, not only in my own incoming orders, but also in the entire
supply chain. The simulation also kept auto filling my initial order, which was only 10,000 cases,
despite me ordering a significantly larger number of cases. I could not get the simulation to operate
properly and allow me to place a larger order. It kept auto ordering the 10,000 cases. I could not get it
to place an order other than 10,000 cases. Because of this glitch, I continued to increase my backlog. I
simply could not order more than 10,000 cases. I address this issue because the glitch certainly
impacted my opinion of the computer simulation as a means of learning. In this scenario, the initial
computer simulation was absolutely worthless as a learning tool. I made an error in my first order, but
I do not think that error was meaningful. Instead, it appears that whatever number of cases I placed in
my initial order would be the number of cases ordered over the next several

The Pros And Cons Of Stem Cells
INTRODUCTION
All organisms depend on stem cells for their survival. Accordingly, stem cells may be a requirement
for the evolution of specific characteristics in organisms that include regeneration, multicellularity and
coloniality (Chakraborty and Agoramoorthy, 2012). Stem cells are undifferentiated cells that are found
in the body which have the ability to continuously divide, self renew and differentiate into various
kinds of cells. The production of an engineered tissue in vitro requires the use of cells to populate
matrices and produce matrix resembling that of the native tissue (Howard, 2008). With the capability
of self renewal, pluripotency and differentiation, stem cells were believed to be useful in treating a
wide variety of diseases ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

research carries with it sets of advantages and disadvantages that individuals need to be aware of.
Stem cell Pros
Offers a lot of medical benefits in the therapeutic sectors of regenerative medicine and cloning.
Stem cell research paved way for effective treatment discoveries.
Helps researchers know more about the growth of human cells and their development.
In future, stem cell study can permit the scientists to test some of possible medicines and drugs
without carrying out any test on animals and humans.
The stem cell therapy lets scientists study the developmental stages that cannot be known directly
through the human embryo and can be used in the treatment of a number of birth defects, infertility
problems and also pregnancy loss.
Stem cells can reverse effects of aging and lengthening life.
Stem cell therapy sets into use the cells of the patient s own body organs and henceforth the risk of

However, it is only with repeated use that they gain skill with a given device. Therefore, it is critical
that they see not only a cost advantage, but a significant increase in product performance in order for
considerable adoption to take place. Starion s choice to focus on the core buyer requirements
magnifies their intimate knowledge of the space and contributed greatly to the company s overall
success. The decision was made to concentrate on an open surgery strategy. Early adoption,
particularly for a small fish in a big pond, is critical to any start up. This direction, spearheaded by
management, was a deft decision for several reasons. The customer base in this field consists of an
end user with a complex hierarchy and buyer process. However, it is ultimately the end user s decision
which makes or breaks a product in this field. Therefore, the decision to launch the product for use in
open surgeries as opposed to laparoscopic procedures vastly increased the attractiveness to the early
adopter base. The open surgery tool strategy enabled doctors to rely on backwards compatibility (the
ability to simply fall back on the tried and true cut and suture method), another key point with
experimental tools and methods.
Prior to Starion s laser tissue welding breakthrough, the most common electrosurgical tool was the
monopolar device, also known as the Bovie device. With

Analysis Of Margaret Edson s And T T ( Wit ) Journeys...
First performed in 1995, Margaret Edson s play, W;t (Wit) journeys into the mind of Doctor Vivian
Bearing, a scholar of Donne s Holy Sonnets and terminally ill cancer patient. In her final two hours of
life, Bearing reflects upon her attempts to reconcile the disease and her impending death along with
her life as a professor (Edson). Edson s literature introduces us to the abstract concept of pain. While
enlightening, words alone cannot sufficiently communicate the transcendental idea. Fortunately for us,
Wit was adapted into a movie several years after its debut. This format enables us to visually conceive
the physical manifestation of pain, allowing us to create a stronger connection to the work as a whole.

Meanwhile, according to Mayo Clinic, cancer includes diseases characterized by the development of
abnormal cells that divide uncontrollably (Mayo Clinic Staff). Under these two definitions, cancer
should be considered a disability. It is worth noting that previous to the ADAAA, cancer was not
always considered a disability (Befort 1020). In fact, some Supreme Court rulings narrowed the
definition of disability to exclude cancer since it is not always a lasting disability ( Befort 1020 1021).
According to the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the purpose of the ADAAA was
to undo the Supreme Court s decisions by extending coverage to afflictions that may be episodic like
cancer ( Fact Sheet ). Thus, Wit may not have been treated as a disability literature or cinema prior to
2008.
In relation to Wit, Bearing is disabled through both her stage IV ovarian cancer and pain. As
previously stated, cancer, under the ADAAA, can be treated as a disability since it negatively affects
normal cell growth. Although she does not originally appear to be disabled, Bearing would be
classified as disabled once diagnosed. In Nichols movie adaptation, we can further see Bearing s new
classification when despite her ability to walk the hospital forces her to use a wheelchair (13:51

The Catcher In The Rye And William Shakespeare s The Tempest
A confronting discovery can have the potential to change an individual s perspective of the world,
themselves and others. William Shakespeare s comedic play, The Tempest, published in 1611,
explores a man who utilises his magic to conjure a storm and bring his enemies, including his brother,
to his island in order to reconcile past differences. Additionally, The Catcher in the Rye (TCITR), a
1951 retrospective bildungsroman by J.D. Salinger, concerns a seventeen year old boy suffering the
grief and hardship of his brother s death. As demonstrated in these texts, the nature of rediscovering
can be challenging for an individual, however, can lead to new understandings of themselves and
others. Furthermore, both positive and negative outcomes are a product of a transformation.
Confronting and transformative discoveries emerge from past experiences, in turn, creating a

Dubliners Research Paper
Dubliners by James Joyce is a collection of stories centered around Joyce s intentions to write the
moral history of Dublin s paralysis. Although paralysis seems to be the main theme in Dubliners,
another motif comes across in the pages of the stories. As if all of the mental, physical, and emotional
problems weren t enough, many of the characters in Dubliners are alcoholics. Joyce utilizes the
character of the drunk in many of the stories in Dubliners; hardly a story skips a mention of a drink.
The negative effects of alcohol occur again and again through the collection of stories. For the most
part, men are brought down by their addiction to alcohol and their inability to control themselves
when they are drunk. In Dubliners, the characters seek their own desires, face obstacles that frustrate
them, and ultimately give in to their need to consume alcohol. With Dubliners, James Joyce brings
attention to the different issues that consuming alcohol caused in early 20th century Ireland using
three particular stories; Counterparts , Grace and Ivy Day in the Committee Room . James Joyce was
born in the late 1800s in Dublin, Ireland. Joyce came from a big family; he was the eldest of ten

Breastfeeding Issues Essay
Breastfeeding issues
It is quite essential for the mother to nurse her own child by herself, there would be many factors
causing a problem while breastfeeding her child. It s common to face challenges at this age; I would
be jotting down some common breastfeeding issues and solutions to them as well. If these won t help,
it is advisable that you visit a medical expert nearby.
Baby doesn t latch
It can turn out to be frustrating things to deal having a baby that won t latch. It is one of the most
common problems.
The correct way to get your baby to latch is by getting naked from the waist up. Get your baby to a
semi reclining position only in its diaper. Keep his mouth on your chest, as soon as the baby is ready,
he might scoot down to the breast and should latch on. Skin to skin is a magical cure for a non
latching baby to get it latched. If you still have latch problems breastfeeding, consult help.
Sometimes, it is common that the baby sleeps within a few minutes after he gets latched, you might be
concerned whether he/she is even eating or not, the best way to figure that out is waking him/her up
and giving an eat signal, the way to do that is doing breast compressions allowing milk to flow, do that
gently so that you do not bruise yourself. The baby might respond to this by swallowing or sucking,
let go as soon as the sucking stops. Sometimes stroking the baby under his/her chin can also
encourage the baby to suck.

It is not normal to feel outright pain;

Self employed DJs usually pay for everything themselves. Some DJs become well known among the
community and are asked to make public appearances around the community. Most DJs that are well
know are the charismatic ones who are wild and crazy on air. Which leads me to my next question I
had what kind of personality do you need to be a radio personality and what is the environment like?
DJs are always trying to please the people. If people don t listen to you the ratings go down. When I
asked Mike what kind of personality is needed he responded by saying, The person needs to be
positive and outgoing. Also you need to be very patient with people who call in because not everyone
is going to be nice and happy when they call in. So you need to be able to hold back rude comments
you might want to say to them. (Mike) DJs must be able to multitask and between watching the clock,

everything is about timing. DJs are required to plan ahead and be able to keep up with everything that

Courage Is A Common Trait Among Great Literary Protagonists
Courage is a common trait among great literary protagonists. From Hermione Granger in J.K Rowling
s Harry Potter series to the eponymous character in Charlotte Bronte s Jane Eyre, courage is a trait that
many authors use to incite the audience s support and encouragement of the courageous character.
However, courage is not always represented definitively in the same way; Hermione Granger and Jane
Eyre both display courage physically and morally, still, some would argue that one character is more
courageous than the other or that one type of courage is a better representation of the word. At its core,
the debate comes down to a matter of linguistics and the development of the English language, but
more interesting literature stems from the debate of the socially correct usage, Harper Lee s To Kill A
Mockingbird tackles the challenge of defining courage. Lee asserts that courage is the act of striving
to meet a difficult goal in order to increase one s positive contribution to a society. This definition of
courage is displayed through the actions, words, and beliefs of the characters; Arthur Boo Radley,
Mrs. Dubose, and Atticus Finch. Arthur Boo Radley is a reclusive character who falls victim to
Maycomb s small town ideology of hiding rather than solving its problems, as well as its close knit
community of gossip and rumours. Boo Radley makes an ongoing effort to defy these rumours and
break free of his hiding despite being hindered by nearly every citizen of Maycomb.

Min Wage Essay
Should Minimum wage be increased?
Introduction
For many decades now, there has been heated debates concerning minimum wages and increases in
those wages. Most people have a tendency to assume that when the minimum wage is increased
people will benefit. They do not stop to think of the consequences that come from minimum wage
increases. The general population merely assumes that people should make an adequate amount of
income and never stop to consider the consequences, nor do they stop to consider alternatives. A rise
in minimum wages is not necessarily the best approach to helping the poverty stricken individuals in
this country. The following paper presents an overview of various problems concerning raising
minimum wage, finding that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Poor
The primary reason most people give for wanting to increase the minimum wage is that of helping
poor people. There are many studies that indicate the benefits are just as numerous as the damage
done. According to James Kaz, the majority of those who are paid minimum wage are not poor but
rather one of at least one other income providers in a household. Most people working for minimum
wage are teenagers...and those used to simply go work for almost nothing for some company or
individual in the field they wanted their career . (Kaz02.html)
It appears that the poor are done much more damage than good through minimum wage increases.
Neumark et al. (1999) provide the following background in that regard:
The lower employment occurs mainly because the increase in the cost of low skilled labor, relative to
the cost of using other productive inputs (such as machinery or more skilled workers), leads
employers away from using low skilled labor and toward these other inputs. This substitution effect is
reinforced by the higher overall cost of production associated with the legislated increase in the wage
for low skilled workers, which in turn raises the price of the product and results in less output sold.
(NA)
In addition, there are numerous workers who are adversely affected by a minimum wage change in the
fact that they do not receive the full amount of the legislated increase. This is what happens to, say, an
individual who

Rite Of Passage Research Paper
Perhaps the most important rite of passage in my life was my high school graduation. This moment in
my life, like many other rites of passage, can be separated into Van Gennep s three different stages:
separation, liminal, and incorporation. The first stage of my rite of passage, separation, was being cut
away from my parents for eight hours a day and sent off to learn about the world. This started when I
was five years old when my mother let my hand go when I went into my kindergarten classroom for
the first time. I was being separated from my home life for most of the day and was being introduced
to new ideas, ways of thinking, and people. The second stage, liminal or transitional, was the period of
my life when I was sent through

Data location and data segregation are of importance in the cloud, given the disparate physical

  • 2. Why Did John Patler Kill George Rockwell On August 25, 1967, John Patler shot George Lincoln Rockwell through the window of his car, . John Patler was waiting for George Rockwell to come out of the laundromat, on top of a hair salon across the street.Rockwell was the founder and leader of the, American Nazi Party. George Rockwell was a White Nationalist and supported the 14 WORDS, which is a 14 word slogan that goes: We must secure the existence of our people and a future for White Children. George Rockwell despised black people, but was willing to become allies with one, Elijah Muhammad, because he had shared the same goals. In, 1960 s George Rockwell was considered a joke by many of his non followers. Today, George Rockwell is still a distant thought placed in the backs of our minds. • 3. Moral Chaos in Harper Lee s Maycomb Essay Harper Lee argues in her novel, To Kill a Mockingbird, that the moral obligations of a court are thrown aside in favor of the law that lies in the minds of men. She describes her characters in such a manner that alludes to their inner thoughts. Through practiced repetition, the citizens of Maycomb force the existence of the social inequality that is white supremacy. Whether by following lead or by ignoring the problem altogether, it is the people alone who allow injustices to occur. In a public appeal for an era of tolerance, Harper Lee attacks Southern racism through Scout Finch s narration of her father s failure to correct a corrupt legal system dominated by prejudiced citizens seeking to rule the law by their own hands. Robinson s death is preordained as nothing could come between a terrified jury of Southern farmers with daughters of their own facing a black man accused of rape. Though by a false accusation, the jury condemns Tom because, for a black man, a sexual advance to a white woman was a certain invitation to a tortured death, says Lisa Lindquist Dorr, assistant professor at the University of Alabama (95). Though seen as innocent by some, including possibly Robinson s defense attorney, Atticus, Robinson still confronts his jury of poor whites who spite him simply because of racial differences; they fail to see another explanation of the suspected crime because of their narrow minded simplicity. Being uneducated, the jury fails to understand the message which Atticus tries to convey. Countering the unintelligent jury, the prosecuting attorney and court judge see little evidence in Robinson s guilt, making it blatantly obvious that Bob Ewell, the town drunkard is an irrational fool. Though given irrefutable evidence of Tom s innocence, the poor, white jury still convicts him because of the strained relationship between their class and his, along with the fear that he may rape one of their own daughters. The fact that an intelligent judge and both attorneys realized that Robinson committed no crime highlights the blind rage which the fearful jury of White farmers would have used like a ... The Convergence Of Methods Of Storing Files Americans today have seen the progression from old media to new media; majority, experiencing for themselves the transition from pagers to cell phones, cassettes to iPods, or paper maps to GPS devices. According to Henry Jenkins, who studies media convergence, this Convergence [where old and new media collide] represents a cultural shift as consumers are encouraged to seek out new information and make connections among dispersed media content (Jenkins 457). It is through the help of convergence that old media has developed into the new media Americans see today. The convergence of methods of storing files is an example of this. Dropbox is a cloud storage service; a business that overlooks a users data and makes that data accessible online. Because Dropbox has introduced people to the idea of accessing wireless data, this reveals how this type of new media has changed the way that content is produced, distributed, and consumed. Although the use of either a USB Flash Drive (old media) or Dropbox (new media) maintains the same objective, that is, to provide people with alternate methods of storing data, Dropbox is becoming a standard way of accessing data with the use of the internet as a platform. This in turn, benefits Dropbox users somewhat. One benefit of transitioning from a USB Flash Drive to Dropbox is that Dropbox allows easy access to documents. Dropping files into Dropbox essentially stores these files on the online cloud, where users can access their files anywhere and at any time as long as users have access to internet connection. There are three methods in which Dropbox users can easily access their documents. The first is through the Dropbox website. Users could simply sign in and upload a document they would like to save or download an already saved file, make revisions to it, and upload the revised document. Another way Dropbox allows easy access to documents is by linking a users Dropbox account to their mobile device. This could ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 14. Organizational Structures Have Impacted Organizational... Organizational structures have changed greatly in the last fifty years. Whereas most organizations were once rigid and centralized, most organizations are now taking advantage of flexible and decentralized structures. These new structures have affected the standard relationships between employees and managers. Additional layers of management have been created which blur the lines between the functions of managers and the functions of employees. Employees have become decision makers, and some managers barely have any authoritative power. Subsequently, these changes to organizational structures have impacted organizational strategies. This too, expounds upon the increased power of the employee and the reduced authority of the manager. The changes in organizational strategies make use of the dispersion of power in order to reduce costs and enable additional safeguards within these organizations. Pertaining to the neoteric avant garde in bureaucratic concatenations from parochial to insouciant, more unerringly decentralization and the divergence of paramountcy, nuclear transmogrifications have germinated which perturb the paradigmatic consanguinity betwixt suzerains and proletariats. For example, employees are now often given a budget with which they can use to rectify an issue that a customer may have. To illustrate, an up and coming grocery store called The Fresh Market grants each employee the power to provide free merchandise to any customer, up to a twenty five dollar ... Caves form over a long period of time, 1000 of years (National Geographic, 2015). Caves are made up of rock, ranging from volcanic to limestone. Limestone caves are more pleasing to the eye as they usually contain more decoration such as stalactites, Shawls and Straws. As limestone caves are more decorated they are more prone to damage and deformation (Science Kids, 2016). Damaged caused by humans in caves: Humans are causing great damage to limestone caves, some of which the caves themself cannot recover from. Physical damage by humans has the greatest impact on caves (Bob Robins, 2005) There are many ways humans have and continue to still damage caves, Majority of people assume that the main damage to caves is through touching formations (Caving ,Survey 2017) However there are many other factors that damage the cave just as badly such as graffiti, modernising caves and rainfall. Tourist caves undergo the most damage (G.Enriquez, B, 2001)with lost formations, climate changes, and urbanising the caves. Limestone caves are more susceptible to damage from a change in climate than volcanic caves due to the rock type. When tourists enter caves they can create thermal annomalies, the anomalies effect the overall temperature in the cave and this in turn effects the production of formations. (FECYT, 2011). Many problems such as depression, hunger, or even disability hurt people every day. Many people let these problems take over their lives. • 21. Effects of Outsourcing Jobs to Overseas Because of outsourcing jobs to overseas many American workers lost their jobs or compelled to work for much less compensation. This trend leads to the shrinkage of middle class income bracket and the reduction of the family s standard of living. Besides, due to the elusive future employment status and the financial problems, many people have to live hand to mouth, and many more have to cut their expenditures in order to survive this dreadful and unpleasant situation. More importantly, the reduction in spending money and the deterioration of consumer confidence can hurt the economy severely and exacerbate the situation. Reich in his article Why Rich are Getting Richer and the Poor, Poorer divides the U.S. professions into three major categories: routine producers, in person servers and symbolic analysts and described the process and likelihood of outsourcing these professions. Routine producers such as manufacturers are the ones in the real risk of losing their jobs as a result of outsourcing since the technological advancements have put them in positions that they have to compete with millions of routine workers in other nations who are willing to work for a much lower wage than their counterparts in America. Therefore, the majority of U.S. routine jobs have moved to the emerging economies. As an example, around late 1970s the famous telecommunication company AT T had a telephone set assembly line in Shreveport, LA. But, later they found out that routine producers in ... Although education has been mostly examined from the perspective of higher education in the past, this lens fails to provide an adequate picture of the average citizen. • 27. Beer Simulation Root Beer Simulation At the outset, I have to acknowledge that I had a problem with this simulation. Initially, in my first two orders, I confused the backlog and inventory sections, so that I believed I had a significant surplus in inventory. Therefore, rather than minimizing the bullwhip of supply and demand, I exacerbated the problem by limiting my supply well below the number of orders coming in, much less below what I could fill with the backlog and incoming orders. This error on my part certainly led to increasing instability, not only in my own incoming orders, but also in the entire supply chain. The simulation also kept auto filling my initial order, which was only 10,000 cases, despite me ordering a significantly larger number of cases. I could not get the simulation to operate properly and allow me to place a larger order. It kept auto ordering the 10,000 cases. I could not get it to place an order other than 10,000 cases. Because of this glitch, I continued to increase my backlog. I simply could not order more than 10,000 cases. I address this issue because the glitch certainly impacted my opinion of the computer simulation as a means of learning. In this scenario, the initial computer simulation was absolutely worthless as a learning tool. I made an error in my first order, but I do not think that error was meaningful. In fact, some Supreme Court rulings narrowed the definition of disability to exclude cancer since it is not always a lasting disability ( Befort 1020 1021). Joyce utilizes the character of the drunk in many of the stories in Dubliners; hardly a story skips a mention of a drink. • 41. Courage Is A Common Trait Among Great Literary Protagonists Courage is a common trait among great literary protagonists. From Hermione Granger in J.K Rowling s Harry Potter series to the eponymous character in Charlotte Bronte s Jane Eyre, courage is a trait that many authors use to incite the audience s support and encouragement of the courageous character. However, courage is not always represented definitively in the same way; Hermione Granger and Jane Eyre both display courage physically and morally, still, some would argue that one character is more courageous than the other or that one type of courage is a better representation of the word. At its core, the debate comes down to a matter of linguistics and the development of the English language, but more interesting literature stems from the debate of the socially correct usage, Harper Lee s To Kill A Mockingbird tackles the challenge of defining courage. Lee asserts that courage is the act of striving to meet a difficult goal in order to increase one s positive contribution to a society. This definition of courage is displayed through the actions, words, and beliefs of the characters; Arthur Boo Radley, Mrs. Dubose, and Atticus Finch. Arthur Boo Radley is a reclusive character who falls victim to Maycomb s small town ideology of hiding rather than solving its problems, as well as its close knit community of gossip and rumours. Boo Radley makes an ongoing effort to defy these rumours and break free of his hiding despite being hindered by nearly every citizen of Maycomb. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Most people working for minimum wage are teenagers...and those used to simply go work for almost nothing for some company or individual in the field they wanted their career . (1999) provide the following background in that regard: The lower employment occurs mainly because the increase in the cost of low skilled labor, relative to the cost of using other productive inputs (such as machinery or more skilled workers), leads employers away from using low skilled labor and toward these other inputs. This substitution effect is reinforced by the higher overall cost of production associated with the legislated increase in the wage for low skilled workers, which in turn raises the price of the product and results in less output sold.
