go if you have good grades or have an athletic sport. Also, you can just be a regular student by doing
whatever you would like to do. This school won 6 national championships and it does not specify
which sports won it just says they claim that they have won. In this university there are 38,786
students that enrolled to the school this year 2016. Its nickname is the Spartans. The school colors are
white and green. If you would like to go there for one year it will cost you $26,874 and if you would

What Is The Theme Of Freedom In Lord Of The Flies
In William Golding s Lord of the Flies, Golding is conveying that when there is no jurisdiction over
humans, things are bound to get out of hand. Freedom has no limits and gives many options for one
without chains binding and restricting their every movement. Golding shows us that humans are likely
to change when there is no authority over them. Firstly, without knowing that there are regulations or
rules, anyone is known to think that they can do whatever they want. They believe that all their
wrongdoings will be bypassed. Secondly, the eventual loss of order in the boys leads them to separate
paths and different tribes. Without a guardian figure guiding them and keeping together, some
individuals believe they can live on their own. Thirdly, humans are savage by nature and may go back
to their roots when the body thinks it needs to. There are several ways in which Golding illustrates the
change in the behaviours of the boys with their new found freedom; however, the most significant
thing is how they now act as people in general on the island.
First and foremost, when children are unsupervised, they tend to think that they can do anything
because they will not receive any inconvenience. For example, the British Naval Officer on shore
states that I should have thought that a pack of British boys would have been able to put up a better
show than that (page 202). This statement from the Officer illustrates that without an adult figure on
the island, the boys became mad and

Implementing The Tax System Classification Rules
On December 17, 1996, the Department of the Treasury (Treasury) finalized rules that were intended
to simplify the tax entity classification rules. These rules have become known as the check the box
regulations. Simply put, these regulations allow an eligible entity to check a box that indicates the
desired tax treatment the entity wishes to have. These new regulations signify what was a much
needed departure from the previous classification regulations, which were vague, ambiguous, and
created many disputes between taxpayers and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). This simplification
of the entity classification rules would make it easier for such entities to gain their desired tax
treatment, which allows those entities to focus ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These new rules replace the Kintner test, which will be analyzed later in this paper. To fully
understand the effects that CTB rules have on entities tax rates, it is important to understand the
complexities of Regulation 301.7703.
Explanation of Regulation 301.7703 3
As previously mentioned, any business entity that is not required to be treated as a corporation may
choose its own classification. An entity may choose to have all of the beneficial characteristics as a
corporation, but to avoid double taxation, they may choose to be taxed as a partnership. An entity with
two or more members can be classified either as a partnership or as an association, which is taxed as a
corporation. An entity with only one member has an option to be taxed as a corporation or can choose
to be disregarded as an entity separate from its owner. That entity cannot choose partnership
classification because a partnership, by definition, has two or more partners. A disregarded entity is a
business entity with one owner that is not recognized for tax purposes as an entity separate from its
owner. Therefore, the taxpayer is treated as a sole proprietorship and the individual must report all
income and losses on their own tax return.
Foreign business organizations are categorized by default classifications and must elect to be taxed
differently on Form 8832, same as domestic entities. A foreign business entity where all owners have
limited liability will be treated as a

How Has Physical Theatre Changed Over Time Essay
How has physical theatre developed over time?
Physical theatre is a form of performance where movement and physicality of the body has the main
part within a performance. There are several quite distinct traditions of performance which all describe
themselves using the term physical theatre , which has led to a lot of confusion as to what the
definition of physical theatre actually is. The term physical theatre has been applied to performances
consisting mainly of mime, contemporary dance, theatrical clowning and other physical comedy (such
as slapstick), puppetry and mask work and theatrical acrobatics and lifts. One of the early practitioners
of physical theatre was Artaud. His ideas included total theatre, wherein actors appeal to all ... Show

The development of English pantomime was strongly influenced by commedia dell arte. This was a
comedy of professional artists travelling from province to province in Italy and then France, who
improvised and told comic stories that held lessons for the crowd, changing the main character
depending on where they were performing. Pantomime mainly incorperated song, dance, buffoonery,
slapstick, cross dressing, in jokes, topical references, audience participation, and mild sexual
innuendo. The general movement within Pantomime creates physical theatre as the storyline is
presented to the audience mainly through lifts, dance and slapstick, although performers also use their
voice throughout.
The Theatre of the Absurd is the name for particular plays of absurdist fiction written by a number of
primarily European playwrights in the late 1950s, as well as one for the style of theatre which has
evolved from their work. Their work expressed what happens when human existence has no meaning
or purpose and therefore all communication breaks down, alerting their audiences to pursue the
opposite. The Absurd in these plays takes the form of man s reaction to a world apparently without
meaning, and/or man as a puppet controlled or menaced by invisible outside forces. Theatre of the
Absurd consisted of horrific or tragic images; characters caught in

Who Burns For The Perfection Of Paper American Espada...
America still does offer the American dream, but for some it is easier to achieve. Take for example a
person who has lived in America their entire life and their family has lived here for generations. He
has some wealth, health care, labor unions, American education, and a sense of where he wants to go.
Now here comes a Russian immigrant who speaks no english, has barely any money, a work visa,
Russian education, and has a very limited choice of jobs. Think to yourself which one has a higher
chance of becoming successful. In Who burns for the Perfection of Paper, Martin Espada talks about
how when he was 16 years old he worked in a factory making legal pads. Ten years later, in the law
school , Espada uses legal pads as a lawyer. This is an example of the American Dream. He began

Aims Of Eugenics
When Americans thinks of the attempted creation of a master race , most will think of Nazi Germany.
However, the original effort to create a master race, separate from minorities, the mentally ill, and the
promiscuous, happened right here in the United States. The movement was called Eugenics. It began
in the 1880 s and did not cease to exist until the late 1970 s. Eugenics was a dark moment in our
nation s history that many people do not even know about.
In 1883, Francis Galton coined the term Eugenics, defining it as a science, which deals with all
influences that improve the inborn qualities of a race; also with those that develop them to the utmost
advantage in his essay Eugenics: Its Definition, Scope, and Aims (1). By promoting ... Show more

program where Josef Mengele worked before he worked in Auschwitz. Hitler actually used the science
of Eugenics to convince Germans that the genocide of the Jewish people was morally justified. Hitler
used Eugenics legislation in the United States as a model for his idea of a perfect race which was
exactly what the United States viewed as a perfect race; white, blonde, blue eyes, and mentally
capable. Some Eugenicists in California even republished Nazi propaganda and showed museum
exhibits on Nazism because they agreed with Hitler s plans to create the master race (3). Joseph
DeJarnette, superintendent of Virginia s Western State Hospital, was quoted saying The Germans are

Analysis Of Frida Kahlo
They say, pictures are worth a thousand words and I believe when it comes to my chosen artist, Frida
Kahlo, her portraits could not be a better example of that saying. All of the 200 paintings done by
Frida Kahlo say more about her life and what she experienced than any article I have ever read about
her. From her health issues and violent bus accident to her tumultuous marriage with her husband,
Diego Rivera is all an influence in her paintings.
I chose Frida Kahlo because I believe her paintings are not just something that came to her mind with
no real meaning behind them. Each painting that Frida Kahlo made was a representation of her own
life, emotions, and her experiences. When looking at her portraits I can feel the pain and agony ...

She was the wife of the famous muralist, Diego Rivera whom she divorced and married twice. Each of
the marriages had been just as bad as the other due to Diego s infidelity throughout the entire time
they were married. But although she was aware of all his affairs the most painful was Diego Rivera s
affair with Frida s own sister, Christina. After that betrayal, the couple divorced, which left Frida
heartbroken. But all the sorrow and regret that Frida experienced throughout her marriage, she
expressed it through her paintings. Some of her famous paintings that were in response to her divorce
from Diego Rivera were The Two Fridas and Self Portrait with Thorn Neckless and Hummingbird.
Frida suffered immensely, died young, and spoke directly through her paintings. All the physical and
spiritual sufferings Frida experienced is mirrored in her art. Most of Frida s paintings are collages of
pain. Obsessed with her health and grief, she created portraits that were intense and emotional.
Frida s physical suffering, began at the age of five when she contracted polio which she survived but
resulted in her right leg becoming weaker and thinner than her left and only worsened by a life
controlling incident in 1925. A bus accident left severe injuries to her body, from a broken pelvic bone
and spinal column to other severe injuries owed to a pole that pierced from her stomach to her
pelvis. The treatment she underwent for her injuries tortured her body with 30 surgical

The First Phase Of Strategy Work
Information collection
The first phase of strategy work is to gain the information of case company. Our case company is a
nonprofit organization MacMillan Cancer Support. The first thing we did is to get to understand how
charity works. After the first group meeting, we decided to find the information about the company
and the industry individually and then made a pool of collected information. As a student from China,
I knew little about charity because in my country charity is not a big industry and people seldom pay
attention to this field. Charity was a totally new thing to me and I started to learn it from scratch. At
the beginning, I felt a little perplexed and I did not know where to start my research work. I searched
in the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We felt we needed to make some change to move forward then we turned to the framework we learned
the lectures.
Information analysis
Our first step was to identify the goal of MacMillan. Unlike profit driven company, charity s goal is
not to chase profit but to make the world better. Their intentions are always altruistic. According to
their homepage and their annual report we found their nine outcomes as their goals. They are devoted
to cancer support to make sure that everyone affected by cancer will not face the disease alone.
After specifying their goal, we moved to the environmental analysis. Since it was in the first few
weeks, we chose the PEST and five forces framework to use. When we started to analyze, a main
problem came to us. Since MacMillan is a nonprofit organization, the definition of its competitors
confused us. Should it be all the charities worldwide or only the local cancer charities? Through
looking up the textbooks and identifying the industry, we thought that in this industry they mainly
competed for the funding, so we defined their competitors as all the cancer charities which searched
for funding against MacMillan. Since the definition of their competitors has been clarified, we started
to look the industry. We thought the hospitals and hospices could be the substitutes of charity and the
new cancer charity would be the potential entrants. In the five

For this essay, I chose the constellation Corona Borealis. It was one of 48 constellations listed by
Ptolemy, an astronomer of the second century. Its Latin name is translated as Northern Crown , due to
its crown like shape. The brightest star in the constellation is Alpha Coronae Borealis, and is a
magnitude 2.2 star. Other notable stars in the constellation include R Coronae Borealis, a yellow

Human Nature In Gilgamesh
In the Epic of Gilgamesh, Gilgamesh was mostly divine but shared minimal characteristics of a god.
Such characteristics were bold physical structures and the strength of a wild bull which he inherited
from his mother, Ninsun, the cow goddess. Everything else such as his characteristics, mentality, and
actions mirrors ours, humans which makes him more like us than a god. His actions portray the burden
of the flawed human nature that we all carry such as being aggressive, competitive, and running away
from our fears.
Initially, Gilgamesh was known as the tortuous, accomplished, and competitive king of Uruk who
drove people out of their sanity and sought trouble. He frequently held competitions to determine the

Furthermore, by agreeing to bet his life on the success of his quest, Gilgamesh reveals the desire for
being remembered by humans which are specified in the statement, I must set my hand to cutting a
cedar tree, I must establish eternal fame (II. 189 190). Being famous is not a necessity, but a want. It s
just the nature of human to not be satisfied with anything that we have. Something deep inside us
always desires for more. Gilgamesh was the king of Uruk, instead of creating the reputation of a kind,
considerate, generous king, he decided to slay a tremendous monster and tried to impress others
instead. It s the most common mistake that we humans always make. We tend to be so busy
impressing others and striving for their cheers with such frequency, that we forget to be ourselves and
think before we act.We often feel self conscious and inferior to ourselves after we experience failure,
which we fail to tolerate. Impressing others and having the ought to be seen in a positive perspective is
what makes us compete against one another which might not always be morally right. Sometimes it s
better to be the best together rather than ruining relationships due to the consequence of proving to the
world that you re finessed. Gilgamesh harassing young girls and women of his kingdom implies that it
s also an aspect of the human nature to be aggressive and compel others to do something for their
favor. Although we are known to be the only

Ainsley Soli Sociology
Ainsley Soli is a good person who does not belong here. At least, that is what she has been telling
herself the last two years as she sits alone in solitary confinement in San Quentin State Prison. The
only human contact she has had in the last 742 days is with the feral, monstrous guards that pay her a
visit with a tray full of slop called prison food every day. She has not spoken one word since May 24,
2014. Sometimes she wishes she could speak, but there is no use talking when no one listens to what
you have to say. That s the problem with this whole situation. No one listened to her when she was

Analysis Of A Court Of Thorns And Roses
What if you could live in the world of the faeries for all of your human life? A Court of Thorns and
Roses, by Sarah J Maas, is a gripping fantasy series about family, friendships, and of love. I picked up
this book as a suggestion from mom to pass time and 13 hours later I had a numb bottom and a
finished book in my hands. I was utterly hooked from the first page to the last. It is a compelling new
twist on the classic Beauty and the Beast storyline where the main character makes many sacrifices for
the betterment of her family, friends, and humanity itself. Ultimately falling in love with the wrong
person at the right time and then the right person at an even better time. The imaginative characters
come together to battle through epic trials and to conquer unspeakable odds. Maas uses her vivid
descriptions of beauty, sacrifice and true courage to enthrall the readers making it impossible to put
down. Maas s incorporation of mythology and folklore from our world into her book allows you to
build a personal relationship with the characters and a feeling of comradery. The BCCB reviews the
series as Elements from Beauty and the Beast, East o the Sun, West o the Moon, the myth of
Persephone, and the legend of Tamlin are seamlessly interwoven with clever allusions, while the faerie
world is resplendent in its initial beauty and then horrific in the brutality Feyre later encounters.

taken for the analysis. Relevant perspectives include patient, dialysis facility or provider, physician,

society and patients or families are less likely to influence practices
Costs are generally described in four categories: direct medical costs, direct non medical costs,

How Does Landscape Reflects Society
I believe this statement to be true that landscapes are reflections of the societies that create them. I
have read and analysed many articles which have clearly reflected this and a quote by Pierce Lewis
which I feel is needed to start off my discussion says that landscape is something to be looked at, but
seldom thought about (Lewis, 1979, p.1). This statement made me start to really think about landscape
and how we must look further than what just meets the naked eye. From my readings I have found out
that in order to look at landscape better than we must train our eyes to see things in a different light
and therefore it is vital that we see past the landscape that presents itself to us. Duffy describes
landscape brilliantly by saying that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Temples were developed in the 15th century and were to be later rediscovered by the French in
the 19th century. They are a symbol of Cambodia s glorious past (Winter, 2007, p133) and the temples
also reflect many degrees of heritage as it is used today for celebrations of the Khmer New Year that
last four days and is revered by Khmers as a deeply symbolic icon of national, ethnic and cultural
unity (Winter, 2007, p133). On average the UNESCO figures reveal that 100,000 to 200,000 people
visit the area for the four day celebrations. This shows how landscapes are reflections of the societies
that create them when such large numbers are coming to celebrate this tradition. In the year 1975 on
April 17th a new party came into Phnom Penh declaring the end of 2000 years of Cambodian history
(Winter, 2007, p138) they were called Pol Pot and brought radical changes that killed many

defective. There are around 500 known mutations that can cause this defectivity (Tidy, 2014). The
ATP7B gene codes for a copper transporting P type ATPase usually found in hepatocytes (Huster,
2010) (Roberts Schilsky, 2008) that excretes excess copper into bile (EASL, 2012) (Roberts Schilsky,
2008). When this gene is defective, it causes copper to build up in the liver which can be transported

Serum ceruloplasmin levels can be most accurately measured by assaying using the enzymatic route
(Tidy, 2014). It can also be measured using antibody dependant assays e.g. a radioimmunoassay. Such
immunologic assays can be inaccurate, and give a higher concentration of ceruloplasmin because they
cannot differentiate between apoceruloplasmin and holoceruloplasmin (EASL, 2012) (Roberts
Schilsky, 2008), 2 types of ceruloplasmin. A low serum ceruloplasmin level is not usually enough on
its own to give a positive diagnosis for Wilson s disease as there may be other causes such as
autoimmune hepatitis (EASL, 2012). In many cases, Kayser Fleischer rings can only be visible with a
slit lamp examination by an experienced observer (EASL, 2012) (Roberts Schilsky, 2008) (Weiss,
2016). In many cases, however, other diagnostic techniques must be used. For example, 24 hour
urinary copper excretion levels 1.6 µmol/24 h (or 0.64 µmol/24 h in children) can indicate Wilson s
disease (EASL, 2012). A liver biopsy core of at least 1 2 cm in length (to ensure measurement
accuracy) may also be taken if non invasive techniques are undiagnostic (EASL, 2012) (Roberts

The 2008 Recession Affected The Global Economy
With the after effects of the stock marketing falling in 2008, and less investments involving risk and

household savings increased and spending decreased. Going into 2008, many households could afford
to keep debt and manage it because of the good financial indicators. Below is a graph from
Creditworthiness showing the U.S. average household debt vs saving leading into the 2008 financial
crisis. Most of the debt seen by households was in the form of mortgages, and loans against people s
mortgages. Again with the government regulations and push for more people to own houses, builders
to expand their developments and banks to offer subprime loans which lead to competition among
banks to lower interest rates, give out adjustable rate mortgages, and even give no income no asset
loans, it was easy to get the credit backing from banks and financial institutions for individuals. This
increased spending and debt can be contributed to why the economy was looking up for many years,
and the economy was booming. However when this uncertainty began to fall, more people pulled out
of their personal investments that they considered risk and starting hanging on to their money. Below
is a chart from the U.S. Bureau of Economics depicting the household savings before and after 2008.
It is important to look at personal savings to see how the money supply could have also affected the
economic crisis of 2008, which turned the economy into a recession. With lower money supply in the

General Pete Quesada and the Triumph of Tactical Air Power in World War II
I would like to begin my paper with the quote by John Kennedy learning and Leadership are
indispensable to each other. 1
I think it is a great saying about leadership I have ever heard. There are many books about leadership.
But if someone wants to be a good leader and if they do not have leadership abilities, character from
birth, they will never be able to be a good leader. When we say leader, we have to think about people
who are able to encourage their people to believe them, their thoughts, be ready to follow them. There
can be another ability of leaders. It is to do right things and make their people to do the same. But not
like some leaders, who do not do ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These books about leadership can be examples for those people who have leadership skill; these books
can be a guide for those people. These books about leadership will help people with leadership
abilities to make their job easier, but will not make them good leaders.
When I read this book we can understand that commanders as good leaders cannot be far from their
men they command. Quesada has this character, he saw his men as his sons. Moreover good leaders
must be able to put themselves in a place of people in front of them. Such kind of characters can make
officers a good leaders and General Elwood had these skills and characters. These characters made
him a great leader. His leadership skills were not dispensed from someone, he was interested to learn
more and his characters may be from birth or from family nurture, education helped him to become
good leader.
Family nurture also very important for people to be in a right way and to do right things, there are
many about this. There are many families with high education, with high cultural values, but their
children do not become like their parents or like they want them to be. The reasons might be different.
The first reason is that people do not spend time with their children, or they do not have time for this.
Moreover it depends on people s character form birth.
When I chose this book I thought it would be very informative and I would be able to get more
information about World War

Singer Theme
Being raised by a rabbi in a large Jewish neighborhood, Isaac Bashevis Singer uses Jewish beliefs and
themes as the focal point in almost all of his works. As Singer retells many childhood stories in his
memoir In My Father s Court, the idea and motif of forgiveness is constantly used as he witnesses his
father perform many arbitrations. Singer also uses forgiveness as a central theme in his later adult
work, as seen in his short story A Crown of Feathers ; though it is evident through the story that his
view on forgiveness had changed as he grew older. While Singer has retained the theme of forgiveness
in his work, it has matured and darkened as a result of his life experiences. As the son of a rabbi,
Singer was able to see firsthand the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Through The Purim Gift and To Warsaw, Singer shows how he saw forgiveness as a simple means to a
happy ending. However, as he grew into an adult and the world around him drastically changed,
Singer realized that his beliefs were not as simple as he thought as a child and that there is much more
inner turmoil present needed for forgiveness. This realization came with growing up in a conflict
ridden Europe that culminated in the Holocaust. Singer s perception of forgiveness evolved not only
due to simply growing up, but also possibly because of the Holocaust and its effect on other Jews, as
he was able to avoid it. Singer s relationship with forgiveness shows the complexity of both faith and
emotion and how childhood innocence is

A complex between crystal violet and iodine (CV I) is formed within the cell. The structure that
determines the Gram reaction is the cell wall structure and not that shape. Bacillus cereus and
Staphylococcus aureus are stained purple in the Gram staining as they have a high amount of
peptidoglycan which forms the outer layer of the cell. This thick peptidoglycan layer is able to trap the
purple CV I complex even after alcohol treatment. Escherichia coli is stained pink in the Gram
staining and it is a Gram negative bacteria. Gram negative bacterias usually have a thin peptidoglycan
layer compared to Gram positive bacterias. The peptidoglycan layer is located between the plasma
membrane and an outer membrane containing lipopolysaccharide and this outer layer is dissolved
during the alcohol treatment which results in a loss of the CV I complex, hence the pink safranin
counterstain is trapped by the peptidoglycan layer (ASM, 2004). Gram staining allows us to observe
the characteristics and cell size, shape and arrangement. For Bacillus cereus, endospores were also
viewed during microscopic observation. During Gram staining, the most crucial step in determining
the outcome is the decolourisation by alcohol step. If alcohol is applied too long, the alcohol may
wash all the CV I complex that is trapped in peptidoglycan layer. Therefore, alcohol is only applied
for 30 seconds

Sovereignty In Canada
Despite recent International opportunism, Canada lays claim to the region through historic documents
and acts of sovereignty. Canada s claim to the area began in 1670. When King Charles II of England
granted Rupert s land in a charter to the Hudson s Bay Company at the height of the fur trading era.
This charter covered a large area around Hudson s Bay, including the northern expanse above the bay
(Rose 4). In 1880, Britain granted the new dominion of Canada the Arctic Archipelago (Rose 5).
Including 94 arctic islands and all Islands adjacent to any such territories discovered or not
(Bonikowski). To secure Canadian sovereignty, Canada sent explorers Joseph Elzéar Bernier and
Vilhjalmur Stefansson to leave plaques and flags on several islands. The symbolic significance of flag
raising is questioned, as sovereignty entails taking responsibility for a region through tangible ways. ...

because the affirmative defense rules out liability. The next step is the Discovery Process, which is the
formal fact finding stage of litigation. There are several different types of discovery processes:
interrogatories, depositions, request to produce documents, physical and mental examinations and
request for admissions. Both sides would then request additional information from the other party or
third parties to develop their case. In most cases if privileged information is gathered, the opposing

Narrative Essay On Maple Street
Maple Street. The middle of July. An ideal Saturday afternoon with temperatures at a fairly
comfortable 80 degrees, the air permeated with the tantalizing smell of a barbecue or two around the
neighborhood. Boys played pick up baseball at the nearby recreational dugout. Girls played hopscotch
and giggled at boys they fancied passing by on bicycles. Neighbors waved to each other as they
passed on the chalk laden sidewalks, and the trees were exuding the pleasant song of birds perched
upon their branches. This was it. The perfect summer day. A young, fair haired boy named Bobby,
rode around the neighborhood aimlessly on his brand new, bright red Schwinn bicycle, which he had
received as an 11th birthday present less than a month earlier. A small transistor radio was hanging
from one of the handles, belting out Dee Dee Sharp s Mashed Potato Time at a boisterous volume.
Mr. Hargis, the resident Neighborhood Grouch, was watering his lawn and smoking a fresh cigar.
Bobby, being fascinated by Mr. Hargis, stopped pedaling and planted his feet to the ground, watching
intently from a safe distance. Mr. Hargis sensed the eyes on him and raised his head toward the
direction, locking eyes with the boy. Normally he would have scowled and shooed away anybody he

Is The Three To-One Blend Of Methylchloro Isothiazolinone
CMIT/MIT: The three to one blend of methylchloro isothiazolinone (CMIT) and
methylisothiazolinone (MIT) is commonly used as a biocide in polymer dispersions. CMIT/MIT is a
broad spectrum biocide that works between 3 9 pH. The mode of action for the CMIT/MIT is that it
reacts with the cell proteins causing the inhibition of respiration and ATP synthesis (PCIMAG).
Isothiazolones first mechanism which is performed in minutes is the swift inhibition of growth and
metabolism. This is then tailed by loss of viability due to irreversible cell damage which happens in a
matter of hours. Inhibition occurs by disrupting the metabolic pathways involving dehydrogenase
enzymes. Microbes are quickly inhibited due to the inhibition of critical physiological functions
including growth, respiration, and energy generation (adenosine triphosphate synthesis). Cell death
results in the destruction of protein thiols and production of free radicals. Compounds such as
surfactants can enhance and speed up the rate of inhibition and death. (Williams, 2007)
The interaction of isothiazolone biocides with microbial cells proceeds via several sequential
reactions. Initially, a biocide molecule reacts with a thiol group to form a disulphide linkage with the
biocide. This structure then interacts with a second thiol group to establish a new disulphide linkage.
Following this, the cell releases the biocide as a mercaptoacrylamide. The mercaptoacrylamide
derivative of CMIT tautomerizes to a thioacyl chloride under physiological conditions. The thioacyl
chloride is highly reactive and proceeds to interact with other cell macromolecules. The ability of
CMIT to degrade to a thioacyl chloride might account for it s much greater antimicrobial activity
when compared to BIT or MIT. (Daniel, 1997)
Barman did a study on the first order rate constant and half life values for the degradation of MIT

isothiazolin 3 one and its chlorinated counterpart, 5 chloro 2 methyl 4 isothiazolin 3 one. At 100 fold

Tracy has high standards for herself and the people around her. In the beginning of the movie, we see
Tracy wearing a pant suit. This indicates a sense of dominance. The first traditional feminine outfit
that Tracy wears is when she is mocking the idea of the model hostess.2 The ruffles on the dress
represent foolishness and her distaste of the situation; she was pretending to be someone she was not.
When Tracy feels weak and powerful less, she is half dressed like in a swimsuit. However when she is

An individual s interaction with others and the world around them can enrich or limit their experience
of belonging. This statement can be readily depicted through various texts which include Raimond
Gaita s memoir, Romulus My Father and Universal Studio s 2004 film, Hating Alison Ashley. Both of
these texts involve various techniques that assist in portraying the concept of belonging to both an
environment and to relationships. Belonging is a concept that is more complex than it first appears. It
may be experienced on many levels between belonging and not belonging, be it to a family, a
friendship, a place or a surrounding environment. It is a perception that is shaped within personal,
cultural, historical and social contexts. Belonging ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This influences him to interact more with his surrounds which further enriches his belonging to the
Australian landscape.
The film Hating Alison Ashley from Universal Studios, also reveals how an individual s interaction
with others and the world around them can enrich or limit their experience of belonging to an
environment. The two protagonists both find themselves at odds with the environment throughout
different stages in the film. Erika Yuken is competent in her own way but out of place within her
community and school environment. However, it appears to be a matter of perception, Erika believes
that she is better than or different from what she actually is. This attribute makes her think that she is
above everyone and ultimately creates barriers between her interacting with her peers and in turn
belonging to her school environment. Erika and Alison both feel insecure and awkward in their school
environment, but for varying reasons. Erika assumes she doesn t belong and that she should be
someone else. Life can be lonely when you re exceptional. This reflective statement reveals that she
thinks herself to be better than others and also highlights the isolation she feels because of this
perception. At the beginning of the film a montage of photos of beautiful people, houses and wealth
are shown in conjunction with a voice over, spoken by Erika. There were very few perfect places to
grow up in, where

The Four Gospels Research Paper
The Four Gospels Reflection Paper I believe it was important to have the word from the four Gospels.
Each Gospel highlighted different events of Jesus life. Matthew portrays Jesus as the son of David and
is mostly speaking to the Jews. Mark shows Jesus as the son of Man and starts with the beginning of
His ministry. Luke tells about Jesus life from birth all the way to His death and ascension. Finally,
John writes as an eyewitness of Jesus life and shows Him as the Son of God. Without having the four
Gospels, we wouldn t have a true picture of Jesus life. The Gospel of Matthew starts from the
beginning of Jesus s life. Gundry (2012) states, The Gospel starts with the nativity of Jesus (chapters 1
2). The rest of the Gospel takes up primarily Marcan narrative (usually condensed) and inserts five
discourses of Jesus... (p. 188). The book was written to show Jesus teaching, however, Gundry (2012)
suggests a stronger reason. ...the Gospel gives a much stronger impression of having been written to
strengthen the Jewish Christians in their suffering of persecution, to warn them against laxity and
apostasy, and to urge them to use their persecution as an opportunity for the evangelism of all nations

up his hands and blessed them. While he was blessing them, he left them and was taken up into

Analyzing The Concept Of Zeta Score And The Details It...
1. Expound on credit analysis. Use the concept of zeta score and the details it includes?
Credit analysis is the process by which financial institutions examine the creditability, credit history
and financial situation of a client or potential borrowers. No bank or moneylender would wish to
jeopardize their money, therefore necessitating this process. At the same time, for bond portfolio
managers or investors to debt issuing companies, the basis of their credit rating and financial
situations also need to be established. The process of investigation to get this information also defines
credit analysis. Credit rating is an important instrument used by lenders when performing credit

It makes the issuer want to retrieve the bonds before the expiry of the allocated time so as to resell
them at lower interest rates. The issuer reserves the right to return investors principal and stop interest
payment before the maturity of bonds, of course at a higher rate than what the bond was sold at. Due
to this reason, the duration is not applicable to callable bonds.
Similar to this, duration has no applicability in the case of common stocks and real estate. It is because
a common stock is the subject of high risk due to fluctuations in prices. In the event of stocks,
investors will tend to sell stocks any time when their price is higher than prices on the date of
acquisition. The investment in stocks and real estate is made to gain higher returns whenever their
prices increase. Due to this reason, period or maturity term is not applicable in common stocks and
real estate, since their disposal is heavily pegged on the market prices.
b) Describe the way duration is used and how it is adjusted with convexity? The most popular way in
which duration is employed by the investors is to measure the volatility of the bond or any other
financial security. As time progresses, stock prices and yields fluctuate and in most cases, this
fluctuation was not foreseen. Due to this reason, investors usually select a specified period to measure
the performance of securities, which is significant identifying the level of risk associated with their

Geico Case Study Essay
Geico Case Study Determine which facets of the GEICO total rewards program align with the five (5)
top advantages of a total rewards program outlined in Chapter 2 of the textbook and discuss your
reasoning. After reviewing GEICO s website the first facet that stood out to me was the fact with the
economic problems in the US was they had not had a decline in their workforce, which shows this is a
company that values its employees. GEICO s total rewards program is based on a compensation and

two (2) areas for improvement. One of the two changes that I would make at GEICO is in the rewards
program. When looking online in their press release section most of the recognition goes to those in
management. I have not held a position in the civilian world, but being in the military I do know that
enlisted personnel are the ones that make things go and I am pretty sure that is how things work in the
civilian sector too. In the civilian sector I see corporate like the officers of the military and those that s
not in corporate like the enlisted. Instead of just focusing on recognizing those in management GEICO
should ensure that show recognition to those that do the dirty work and make things go. The second
change that I would make in GEICO s total rewards program is in benefits. I have chosen this benefit
because of health care and the cost of it. I would

Summary and Evaluation on Smoking Cessation for Management of COPD The article Evaluating the
effectiveness of smoking cessation in the management of COPD written by Isimat Temitayo Orisasmi

disease associated with it. Smoking is one of the major causes of increased mortality. More than 80%
of smokers develop Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), making it one of the leading
causes of death in the world (Orisasami and Ojo, 2016, p. 786). The main aim of the article is to draw

explaining to them about the process in which their body works when they smoke, and how they get

result in a significant difference in their life quality. I think this article is effective because the authors
mentioned few studies that contradicted their opinion and they even mentioned the reasons why
people continue to smoke after the patients being supported through counseling. However, I would
also like to see more data on how many people continued smoking even after receiving aids, what the
negative effects of bupropion and other pharmacotherapies drugs are, and more research references on
severe cases of COPD in which the intervention aides failed and how the COPD was still controlled. I
think the authors need to clarify more on the specific types of intervention the studies used and the

d. The precursor and its concentration Concentration of the solution is an important parameter
deciding the nature of the thin film in the spray pyrolysis method. High concentration of the solution
will yield powdery deposits because of quick evaporation of the solution. Also the thickness of the

will also lead to homogeneous deposits. So a compromise in the concentration of the solution should
be made. In this study the home made nebulizer used at precursor concentration 0.2 M. e. Rate flow of

Argumentative Essay On Diesel Engines
Whenever people think of diesel engines, they imagine black soot pouring out of a big rig on the
interstate. While that has been correct in the past, the technology is arriving that changes people s
thoughts to that of a more ecologically friendly. Ever since Rudolf Diesel created the diesel engine, it
has been written off as a smelly, inefficient, and dirty way of converting fossil fuels into power. Diesel
noticed how the steam engines of the times were wasting 80 90% of the fuel they burn, making them
very inefficient. After learning about how inefficient typical gas or steam engines were, he dedicated
himself to create a clean burning engine. In the beginning, the stereotypes were completely accurate,
but those same adjectives are simply incorrect in today s times. These constant put downs by
environmentalist are often uneducated and generalized by the small number of older, inefficient trucks
that are still on the road. The modern diesel engine is an absolute marvel when it comes to the fuel
efficiency, power output and societal benefits. While the light duty diesel pickup may be loud and
intimidating, the benefits they provide society are vastly underappreciated and need to be more
thoroughly recognized.
Diesel trucks are literally cooler than gas trucks, they are a colder running motor and the explosion

Ovid the Metamorphoses Essay

The Metamorphoses: Why Jupiter s feelings that humans are evil is misled and hypocritical.
And I reckon them that are good must suffer for it the same as them that are bad. ― William Faulkner.
Faulkner s ideology is prevalent in the story The Metamorphoses, by Ovid, as the poet tells of the god
Jupiter destroying all man kind (except for Deucalion and Pyrrha) because of the actions of one,
Lycaon. Ovid describes Jupiter s destruction as an effort to protect all the gods who do not live in the
heavens. However, Jupiter s actions are not justified in any way presented in the book. In the story
there are multiple cases where Jupiter and other gods cause danger and torment on the lower class of
gods. Examples of rape, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Jupiter is too overcome with anger, too quick to punish and too abusive of his authority as king of the
gods to provide an unbiased version of the truth (Balsley). Jupiter s anger clouded his mind from
seeing the good that others might have and that Lycaon s actions are the reason why Jupiter flooded
the world, not by mankind s evil. With the flood, two people survived, Deucalion and Pyrrha. These
two were examples of the honorable and just men and women that Jupiter neglect to consider as he
tore apart all human kind. ...Jupiter realized the world was now thoroughly inundated, and observed
only a single man and woman left out of the many thousands there had been, and that they both were
blameless and devout... (The Metamorphoses: Book 1, 447 451). These two individuals proved that
Jupiter was too quick to action in his decision and made a major mistake in believing all man kind is
evil. These two major parts of The Metamorphoses show Jupiter s action as ignorant, but it is also
Jupiter s hypocrisy seen through his own wrong doings which presents the flaws of Jupiter s
justification on the flood. A major justification of why Jupiter washed out humanity is to protect the
gods that lived on the earth, however this is a hypocritical desire as there are multiple cases in The
Metamorphoses where he caused the earth dwelling gods torment. In book 2 of The Metamorphoses,
Jupiter seeks out Callisto and rapes her. ...as she began recounting the day s hunt, (Jupiter)

President James Madison Essay
President James Madison
James Madison, (1751 1836), 4th President of the United States of America. Although he served eight
years each as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives, as secretary of state, and as president,
Madison s principal contribution to the founding of the United States was as Father of the
Constitution.
Madison s place among the Founding Fathers reveals the essential qualities of his public career.
Jefferson had a superior vision of the potential for life under republican government, a greater capacity
for leadership, and a special gift for the memorable phrase, but Madison had a more subtle and
incisive political sense.

He also attacked Patrick Henry, who did not believe that the Constitution fully protected Virginia and
its people, in dramatic and finally successful debate at the Virginia ratifying convention . Madison and
Jefferson viewed republican government as resting on the virtues of the people, sustained by the self
reliance of an agricultural economy and the benefits of public education, with government itself
remaining mild and responsive to grass roots impulses. This attitude became the foundation of the
Democratic Republican Party, which was fundamentally at odds with Hamilton s concept of a strong
central government.
Madison and Jefferson then seized on widespread public sympathy for France s expansive,
revolutionary exploits to promote republican sentiment in the United States. Madison bitterly opposed
Jay s Treaty, feeling that it made the United States dependent on England and in fact tied America to
the corrupt power politics diplomacy of the Old World. With the final ratification of Jay s Treaty,
Madison felt that a commercial junta that cared very little for the republican character of the nation
had gained control. The war like attitude toward France of President John Adams, administration
alarmed Madison. The XYZ AFFAIR brought the United States and France close to war. During the

The Use Of Performance Enhancing Drugs Within Sports
Legalization of Performance Enhancing Drugs within Sports Do you want to want to become the peak
athlete that you know your body is capable of? Well, this paper will not do that for you, but it will tell
you how, and it will tell you why it should be legal to do so. Doping in sports is one of the most
extensive debates within the realm of athletics. Whether it be injecting anabolic steroids, consuming
them, or blood doping, athletes will do drugs. Doping has no effect on the viewership of the sport.
Athletes can always find ways to cheat the system, and trying to prevent the use seems impossible.
The use of performance enhancing drugs (PEDs) should be legalized, as long as it is allowed under
medical supervision. Performance enhancing drugs, or steroids, are defined as substances used to
improve physical performance. There are many types of steroidal performance enhancers. The first of
these performance enhancing drugs are anabolic steroids. Anabolic steroids are also known as
androgen steroids, and they are used to increase the muscle mass and strength of a person. A natural
anabolic steroid is testosterone, which your body naturally produces. Some athletes take straight
testosterone which is another way to boost your athletic performance. This has the same effect as
anabolic steroids, but it is natural and can be found within the body. Anabolic steroids are so effective
and appealing to athletes, because they allow athletes to recover faster from a

The Creation And Collapse Of Unified German Empire
The period of one hundred years spanning from the mid nineteenth century to the mid twentieth
century was one hundred years of monumental change. It saw the end of American slavery, the
creation and collapse of unified German Empire, the creation of Eastern European nation states that
emerged from the wreckage of the Austro Hungarian Empire only to fall to the Soviet Union within a
few decades, two world wars, the invention of cars and their erasure of horses from everyday
transportation, the development of nuclear weapons, and the novel concept of photographs become
televisions in the home of the average American family. This period of radical change was made
possible by men who saw the possibility of changing the world and perused it. Regimes fell, borders
were redrawn, and from the ranks of revolutionaries the leaders who would create new orders rose.
Those with innovative ideas, creativity, and the right combination of skills and resources created the
material goods that shaped these crucial years. But as the world progressed at an alarming rate, there
were those who wished to preserve the traditions and values of the past. This desire existed even
among the same minds who brought about the revolutions of the era, and they found themselves
struggling to find the middle ground between these two different objectives. Among them were
American automobile manufacturer Henry Ford, Mexican President Profirio Diaz, and the Turkish
President Mustafa Kamal. While the latter two

Comparing Literacy And Language Models
Success in education depends on how literate one is. Moreover, being literate is more than being able
to read and write, rather it is the student s ability to apply the skills taught effectively on a job, in
society, and to further their education. Students with strong literacy skills have promising educational
and career options, while most students with weak skills face a future of being undereducated and
underemployed as they struggle with undeveloped personal goals and unfulfilling, low paying jobs
[Hock Deshler, 2003]. Consequently, the ensuing paper will compare literacy and language models
used in a bilingual education program and will select models that would be useful in establishing a
bilingual program.
Comparing Literacy and Language Models
Literacy is defined as a social practice, meaning a form of activity through which we use text in
culturally appropriate ways for specific purposes [Kern, 2000]. On the other hand, Neilson (2014)
argues that the power of literacy lies not just in the ability to read and write, but rather in a person s
capacity to apply these skills to effectively connect, interpret and discern the intricacies of the world in
which they live [Delvene, 2014, para. 1]. Significantly, when these two perspectives are analyzed,
literacy can be seen as a skill and a tool. Whereby, students, can possess the learned skills and still be
unable to utilize these skills in an informative way.

  • 3. What Is The Theme Of Freedom In Lord Of The Flies In William Golding s Lord of the Flies, Golding is conveying that when there is no jurisdiction over humans, things are bound to get out of hand. Freedom has no limits and gives many options for one without chains binding and restricting their every movement. Golding shows us that humans are likely to change when there is no authority over them. Firstly, without knowing that there are regulations or rules, anyone is known to think that they can do whatever they want. They believe that all their wrongdoings will be bypassed. Secondly, the eventual loss of order in the boys leads them to separate paths and different tribes. Without a guardian figure guiding them and keeping together, some individuals believe they can live on their own. Thirdly, humans are savage by nature and may go back to their roots when the body thinks it needs to. There are several ways in which Golding illustrates the change in the behaviours of the boys with their new found freedom; however, the most significant thing is how they now act as people in general on the island. First and foremost, when children are unsupervised, they tend to think that they can do anything because they will not receive any inconvenience. For example, the British Naval Officer on shore states that I should have thought that a pack of British boys would have been able to put up a better show than that (page 202). This statement from the Officer illustrates that without an adult figure on the island, the boys became mad and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Implementing The Tax System Classification Rules On December 17, 1996, the Department of the Treasury (Treasury) finalized rules that were intended to simplify the tax entity classification rules. These rules have become known as the check the box regulations. Simply put, these regulations allow an eligible entity to check a box that indicates the desired tax treatment the entity wishes to have. These new regulations signify what was a much needed departure from the previous classification regulations, which were vague, ambiguous, and created many disputes between taxpayers and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). This simplification of the entity classification rules would make it easier for such entities to gain their desired tax treatment, which allows those entities to focus ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These new rules replace the Kintner test, which will be analyzed later in this paper. To fully understand the effects that CTB rules have on entities tax rates, it is important to understand the complexities of Regulation 301.7703. Explanation of Regulation 301.7703 3 As previously mentioned, any business entity that is not required to be treated as a corporation may choose its own classification. An entity may choose to have all of the beneficial characteristics as a corporation, but to avoid double taxation, they may choose to be taxed as a partnership. An entity with two or more members can be classified either as a partnership or as an association, which is taxed as a corporation. An entity with only one member has an option to be taxed as a corporation or can choose to be disregarded as an entity separate from its owner. That entity cannot choose partnership classification because a partnership, by definition, has two or more partners. A disregarded entity is a business entity with one owner that is not recognized for tax purposes as an entity separate from its owner. Therefore, the taxpayer is treated as a sole proprietorship and the individual must report all income and losses on their own tax return. Foreign business organizations are categorized by default classifications and must elect to be taxed differently on Form 8832, same as domestic entities. A foreign business entity where all owners have limited liability will be treated as a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 6. How Has Physical Theatre Changed Over Time Essay How has physical theatre developed over time? Physical theatre is a form of performance where movement and physicality of the body has the main part within a performance. There are several quite distinct traditions of performance which all describe themselves using the term physical theatre , which has led to a lot of confusion as to what the definition of physical theatre actually is. The term physical theatre has been applied to performances consisting mainly of mime, contemporary dance, theatrical clowning and other physical comedy (such as slapstick), puppetry and mask work and theatrical acrobatics and lifts. The development of English pantomime was strongly influenced by commedia dell arte. This was a comedy of professional artists travelling from province to province in Italy and then France, who improvised and told comic stories that held lessons for the crowd, changing the main character depending on where they were performing. Pantomime mainly incorperated song, dance, buffoonery, slapstick, cross dressing, in jokes, topical references, audience participation, and mild sexual innuendo. The general movement within Pantomime creates physical theatre as the storyline is presented to the audience mainly through lifts, dance and slapstick, although performers also use their voice throughout. The Theatre of the Absurd is the name for particular plays of absurdist fiction written by a number of primarily European playwrights in the late 1950s, as well as one for the style of theatre which has evolved from their work. Their work expressed what happens when human existence has no meaning or purpose and therefore all communication breaks down, alerting their audiences to pursue the opposite. The Absurd in these plays takes the form of man s reaction to a world apparently without meaning, and/or man as a puppet controlled or menaced by invisible outside forces. Take for example a person who has lived in America their entire life and their family has lived here for generations. He has some wealth, health care, labor unions, American education, and a sense of where he wants to go. Now here comes a Russian immigrant who speaks no english, has barely any money, a work visa, Russian education, and has a very limited choice of jobs. Think to yourself which one has a higher chance of becoming successful. In Who burns for the Perfection of Paper, Martin Espada talks about how when he was 16 years old he worked in a factory making legal pads. • 9. Aims Of Eugenics When Americans thinks of the attempted creation of a master race , most will think of Nazi Germany. However, the original effort to create a master race, separate from minorities, the mentally ill, and the promiscuous, happened right here in the United States. The movement was called Eugenics. It began in the 1880 s and did not cease to exist until the late 1970 s. Eugenics was a dark moment in our nation s history that many people do not even know about. In 1883, Francis Galton coined the term Eugenics, defining it as a science, which deals with all influences that improve the inborn qualities of a race; also with those that develop them to the utmost advantage in his essay Eugenics: Its Definition, Scope, and Aims (1). Hitler actually used the science of Eugenics to convince Germans that the genocide of the Jewish people was morally justified. Hitler used Eugenics legislation in the United States as a model for his idea of a perfect race which was exactly what the United States viewed as a perfect race; white, blonde, blue eyes, and mentally capable. Some Eugenicists in California even republished Nazi propaganda and showed museum exhibits on Nazism because they agreed with Hitler s plans to create the master race (3). Joseph DeJarnette, superintendent of Virginia s Western State Hospital, was quoted saying The Germans are beating us at our own game, implying that the end game for the Eugenics movement in the United States was the systematic killing of all people that did not look and think exactly like the leaders of the Eugenics ... All of the 200 paintings done by Frida Kahlo say more about her life and what she experienced than any article I have ever read about her. From her health issues and violent bus accident to her tumultuous marriage with her husband, Diego Rivera is all an influence in her paintings. I chose Frida Kahlo because I believe her paintings are not just something that came to her mind with no real meaning behind them. Each painting that Frida Kahlo made was a representation of her own life, emotions, and her experiences. When looking at her portraits I can feel the pain and agony ... Each of the marriages had been just as bad as the other due to Diego s infidelity throughout the entire time they were married. But although she was aware of all his affairs the most painful was Diego Rivera s affair with Frida s own sister, Christina. After that betrayal, the couple divorced, which left Frida heartbroken. But all the sorrow and regret that Frida experienced throughout her marriage, she expressed it through her paintings. Some of her famous paintings that were in response to her divorce from Diego Rivera were The Two Fridas and Self Portrait with Thorn Neckless and Hummingbird. Frida suffered immensely, died young, and spoke directly through her paintings. All the physical and spiritual sufferings Frida experienced is mirrored in her art. Most of Frida s paintings are collages of pain. Obsessed with her health and grief, she created portraits that were intense and emotional. Our case company is a nonprofit organization MacMillan Cancer Support. The first thing we did is to get to understand how charity works. After the first group meeting, we decided to find the information about the company and the industry individually and then made a pool of collected information. As a student from China, I knew little about charity because in my country charity is not a big industry and people seldom pay attention to this field. Information analysis Our first step was to identify the goal of MacMillan. Unlike profit driven company, charity s goal is not to chase profit but to make the world better. Their intentions are always altruistic. According to their homepage and their annual report we found their nine outcomes as their goals. They are devoted to cancer support to make sure that everyone affected by cancer will not face the disease alone. After specifying their goal, we moved to the environmental analysis. Since it was in the first few weeks, we chose the PEST and five forces framework to use. When we started to analyze, a main problem came to us. Since MacMillan is a nonprofit organization, the definition of its competitors confused us. Should it be all the charities worldwide or only the local cancer charities? Through looking up the textbooks and identifying the industry, we thought that in this industry they mainly competed for the funding, so we defined their competitors as all the cancer charities which searched for funding against MacMillan. Since the definition of their competitors has been clarified, we started to look the industry. Its Latin name is translated as Northern Crown , due to its crown like shape. The brightest star in the constellation is Alpha Coronae Borealis, and is a magnitude 2.2 star. Other notable stars in the constellation include R Coronae Borealis, a yellow supergiant, and T Coronae Borealis, also known as the Blaze Star, which is a recurrent supernova. Eventually, the King of the Fairies learned of the extraordinary maid who lived in the middle of the forest. He decided to visit her and, using enchantment to disguise himself as a human, the King called upon the cottage. Immediately, the King and Elyana feel deeply in love. The King, however, knew they could not be together. He could not hold the human form forever, and he had a duty to lead and protect the Fairy Kingdom. Elyana, being human, could not become a fairy. Such characteristics were bold physical structures and the strength of a wild bull which he inherited from his mother, Ninsun, the cow goddess. Everything else such as his characteristics, mentality, and actions mirrors ours, humans which makes him more like us than a god. His actions portray the burden of the flawed human nature that we all carry such as being aggressive, competitive, and running away from our fears. Furthermore, by agreeing to bet his life on the success of his quest, Gilgamesh reveals the desire for being remembered by humans which are specified in the statement, I must set my hand to cutting a cedar tree, I must establish eternal fame (II. 189 190). Being famous is not a necessity, but a want. It s just the nature of human to not be satisfied with anything that we have. Something deep inside us always desires for more. Gilgamesh was the king of Uruk, instead of creating the reputation of a kind, considerate, generous king, he decided to slay a tremendous monster and tried to impress others instead. It s the most common mistake that we humans always make. We tend to be so busy impressing others and striving for their cheers with such frequency, that we forget to be ourselves and think before we act.We often feel self conscious and inferior to ourselves after we experience failure, which we fail to tolerate. Impressing others and having the ought to be seen in a positive perspective is what makes us compete against one another which might not always be morally right. Sometimes it s better to be the best together rather than ruining relationships due to the consequence of proving to the world that you re finessed. At least, that is what she has been telling herself the last two years as she sits alone in solitary confinement in San Quentin State Prison. A Court of Thorns and Roses, by Sarah J Maas, is a gripping fantasy series about family, friendships, and of love. I picked up this book as a suggestion from mom to pass time and 13 hours later I had a numb bottom and a finished book in my hands. I was utterly hooked from the first page to the last. It is a compelling new twist on the classic Beauty and the Beast storyline where the main character makes many sacrifices for the betterment of her family, friends, and humanity itself. Ultimately falling in love with the wrong person at the right time and then the right person at an even better time. The imaginative characters come together to battle through epic trials and to conquer unspeakable odds. Maas uses her vivid descriptions of beauty, sacrifice and true courage to enthrall the readers making it impossible to put down. Maas s incorporation of mythology and folklore from our world into her book allows you to build a personal relationship with the characters and a feeling of comradery. The BCCB reviews the series as Elements from Beauty and the Beast, East o the Sun, West o the Moon, the myth of Persephone, and the legend of Tamlin are seamlessly interwoven with clever allusions, while the faerie world is resplendent in its initial beauty and then horrific in the brutality Feyre later encounters. • 17. How Does Landscape Reflects Society I believe this statement to be true that landscapes are reflections of the societies that create them. I have read and analysed many articles which have clearly reflected this and a quote by Pierce Lewis which I feel is needed to start off my discussion says that landscape is something to be looked at, but seldom thought about (Lewis, 1979, p.1). This statement made me start to really think about landscape and how we must look further than what just meets the naked eye. From my readings I have found out that in order to look at landscape better than we must train our eyes to see things in a different light and therefore it is vital that we see past the landscape that presents itself to us. On average the UNESCO figures reveal that 100,000 to 200,000 people visit the area for the four day celebrations. • 19. Wilson s Disease Essay Wilson s disease is a rare genetic disorder affecting about 1 in 30,000 people (Schilsky, 2014) in which excess copper accumulates in the body, notably the liver and the brain (Anon, undated). It is an autosomal recessive condition in which the ATP7B gene on chromosome 13 (EASL, 2012) is defective. There are around 500 known mutations that can cause this defectivity (Tidy, 2014). The ATP7B gene codes for a copper transporting P type ATPase usually found in hepatocytes (Huster, 2010) (Roberts Schilsky, 2008) that excretes excess copper into bile (EASL, 2012) (Roberts Schilsky, 2008). The structure that determines the Gram reaction is the cell wall structure and not that shape. Bacillus cereus and Staphylococcus aureus are stained purple in the Gram staining as they have a high amount of peptidoglycan which forms the outer layer of the cell. This thick peptidoglycan layer is able to trap the purple CV I complex even after alcohol treatment. Escherichia coli is stained pink in the Gram staining and it is a Gram negative bacteria. Gram negative bacterias usually have a thin peptidoglycan layer compared to Gram positive bacterias. The peptidoglycan layer is located between the plasma membrane and an outer membrane containing lipopolysaccharide and this outer layer is dissolved during the alcohol treatment which results in a loss of the CV I complex, hence the pink safranin counterstain is trapped by the peptidoglycan layer (ASM, 2004). Gram staining allows us to observe the characteristics and cell size, shape and arrangement. For Bacillus cereus, endospores were also viewed during microscopic observation. • 34. Is The Three To-One Blend Of Methylchloro Isothiazolinone CMIT/MIT: The three to one blend of methylchloro isothiazolinone (CMIT) and methylisothiazolinone (MIT) is commonly used as a biocide in polymer dispersions. CMIT/MIT is a broad spectrum biocide that works between 3 9 pH. The mode of action for the CMIT/MIT is that it reacts with the cell proteins causing the inhibition of respiration and ATP synthesis (PCIMAG). Isothiazolones first mechanism which is performed in minutes is the swift inhibition of growth and metabolism. This is then tailed by loss of viability due to irreversible cell damage which happens in a matter of hours. Inhibition occurs by disrupting the metabolic pathways involving dehydrogenase enzymes. Microbes are quickly inhibited due to the inhibition of critical physiological functions including growth, respiration, and energy generation (adenosine triphosphate synthesis). Cell death results in the destruction of protein thiols and production of free radicals. Compounds such as surfactants can enhance and speed up the rate of inhibition and death. (Williams, 2007) The interaction of isothiazolone biocides with microbial cells proceeds via several sequential reactions. Initially, a biocide molecule reacts with a thiol group to form a disulphide linkage with the biocide. This structure then interacts with a second thiol group to establish a new disulphide linkage. Following this, the cell releases the biocide as a mercaptoacrylamide. The mercaptoacrylamide derivative of CMIT tautomerizes to a thioacyl chloride under physiological conditions. The thioacyl chloride is highly reactive and proceeds to interact with other cell macromolecules. The ability of CMIT to degrade to a thioacyl chloride might account for it s much greater antimicrobial activity when compared to BIT or MIT. (Daniel, 1997) Barman did a study on the first order rate constant and half life values for the degradation of MIT (Kathon 886 MW) and a MIT/CMIT (Kathon MWC) Mixture. These consist of 2 methyl 4 isothiazolin 3 one and its chlorinated counterpart, 5 chloro 2 methyl 4 isothiazolin 3 one. The Use Of Performance Enhancing Drugs Within Sports Legalization of Performance Enhancing Drugs within Sports Do you want to want to become the peak athlete that you know your body is capable of? Well, this paper will not do that for you, but it will tell you how, and it will tell you why it should be legal to do so. Doping in sports is one of the most extensive debates within the realm of athletics. Whether it be injecting anabolic steroids, consuming them, or blood doping, athletes will do drugs. Doping has no effect on the viewership of the sport. Athletes can always find ways to cheat the system, and trying to prevent the use seems impossible. The use of performance enhancing drugs (PEDs) should be legalized, as long as it is allowed under medical supervision. Performance enhancing drugs, or steroids, are defined as substances used to improve physical performance. There are many types of steroidal performance enhancers. The first of these performance enhancing drugs are anabolic steroids. Anabolic steroids are also known as androgen steroids, and they are used to increase the muscle mass and strength of a person. Significantly, when these two perspectives are analyzed, literacy can be seen as a skill and a tool. Whereby, students, can possess the learned skills and still be unable to utilize these skills in an informative way. Letter and Sound Knowledge For bilingual education ...
