The Benefitions Of Hard Work In My Life
As a young child, my Mother always would tell me; If you want something work hard for it. It s that
simple. That saying was constantly being stated around the house when my brother or I would want to
achieve a certain goal in school, sports or anything. This saying has transformed me over the years
into the hard worker that I am to this day. Throughout my life coaches, family, and teachers regularly
told me to work hard and give 100% effort no matter what and I will succeed. The characteristic of
hard working and constantly giving outstanding effort describes me as a person immensely because I
consistently strive to achieve my goals. Ever since the age of ten, my Mother told me do chores if I
wanted extra money in order to buy anything my little ten year old heart desired. She composed a
chore list and pinned it to the fridge for me to earn a little money, but only if I did the task the best I
could. Although somehow my Mother can always tell when my brother or I aren t giving our full
potential. How? I am still unsure to this day, but we never wanted the repercussions that came if one
of us got caught slacking. Despite giving 100% effort and completing the chores the best I could for
money seemed great, I happened to have what seemed to be a mile long chore list. Overtime out of all
my chores, I realized that my main income from ages ten to fourteen involved scooping up the dog
poop in our backyard for a dollar per pile. Despite the gross appeal, picked up the dog s poop
happened to become a steady income rapidly. Everyday after school I made sure the yard was spotless
so I could earn my money. As years went on, I stopped getting paid to do household chores and they
quickly became an expectation since I live there. With no longer getting paid to do chores I would
soon have to get a job. Eventually I got a job, it was this past summer, I helped bail hay for my uncle
and helping out on his farm when needed. I made sure I was constantly giving a 100% effort to get
that job done because that s what my Mother taught me to do. Since I was consistently hard working,
he knew he could rely on me. Although a household chore and a real job may seem different, I feel
that I should work hard on any chore or job no

Ernest Rutherford Accomplishments
Ernest Rutherford is often ascribed as the greatest and most respectable experimental scientist, second
to none. His unparalleled success is attributed to his revolutionary work regarding but not limited to
the atom. Rutherford s ingenuity and dexterity was able to alter our insight of nature three remarkable
times. He first set laws on radioactive decay, explaining it as the spontaneous disintegration of atoms.
He then riveted the scientific community when he determined the structure of the atom. Finally, he
became the world s first successful alchemist when he triumphantly converted nitrogen to oxygen by
splitting the atom. Though his major accomplishments are astounding, he is responsible for even more
glories. He made the discovery of alpha ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Rutherford speculated, quite rightly, that the power of the atom was infinitely higher than the energy
bonding it together. Prior to World War I, he commented that he didn t think the power of the atom
could ever be efficiently extracted, but hoped that ways of achieving this would not be determined
before the world was at peace. Unfortunately, for many, controlled nuclear fission was made possible
just two years after Rutherford s death, and the rest, well, is history. The world, however, owes a great
deal to Ernest Rutherford and his discoveries. Today, the science of physics has propelled to new
heights. In France and Switzerland, scientists at CERN (the European Organization for Nuclear
Research) are in the process of venturing with the world s largest particle accelerator, called the Large
Hadron Collider (LHC), to unlock some of the last mysteries of particle physics the existence of
substances such as dark matter, dark energy, and something called Higgs Boson. Suffice to say, the
LHC is an underground tunnel, circular in nature, with a circumference of about 27km. The basic idea
is to send beams of protons in opposite directions into one another, having them collide at almost the
speed of light and observing what happens. Scientists are hoping to find evidence that verifies their
standard model of particle physics. Rutherford s greatest contribution to the development of Science is
of course his model of the atom. The Japanese scientist Hantaro Nagaoka had developed a similar
model six years before Rutherford, but because it went against the teachings of classical
electrodynamics it had not been taken seriously. However, Rutherford was such a differential figure,
and had verified the concept with more concrete proof and calculations, hence earning the title Father
of nuclear physics . Although his theory was modified by

Essay about Hawaiian Volcanoes
I. Summary
This paper will provide information on the volcanoes of Hawaii, where it is known to be the home of
one of the world s largest volcanic islands, merely second to Iceland. It is not just the beautiful
landscapes and wildlife that spark the interest to this particular area, but the uniqueness of the
Hawaiian volcanoes and islands themselves are what make the area so significant. There will be
information spanning from the history of the origin of the islands to how Hawaii must adjust to the
volcanic hazards in order to keep the area livable. With these ideas in mind, I will first address
background information on the area and set the scene as to what makes this area so special. Then I will
transition to the history of how the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Essentially, the key fact that makes the islands of Hawaii so unique and worthy of studying is that
nearly the entire mountain range is built entirely by volcanic activity and each island is the top of an
enormous volcanic mountain. These exceptional qualities fuel the study of how the islands themselves
were created, in order to answer the curiosities behind the composition of some of the most
extravagant volcanoes in the world.
III. History of the Hawaiian Islands
The basic theory of plate tectonics says that all volcanic activity should occur between lithosphere
plates (Physical Geology). However, the Hawaiian Islands bend this rule by being located directly in
the middle of the Pacific plate. The Hawaiian volcanoes are known as intraplate volcanoes. This may
not seem possible because it disrupts the rule of plate tectonics, but there s the exception of a hot spot.
T. Wilson suggested that the Pacific plate moved in the northwestward direction over a melting spot
deep within the mantle, and this hot spot remained relatively stationary and supplied magma to the
moving Pacific plate to form the Hawaiian Island chain (Volcanoes in the Sea). In order to prove this
suggestion, the structure of the Hawaiian Islands must be in line with a hot spot origin. This will be

Toyot The Car Company
Toyoda and Honda are both automobile giants in the world. As everyone knows, Toyota is Japan s
No.1 car company, and Honda is the second car company in Japan. Toyota was founded by Kiichiro
Toyoda in 1937 in Japan, two years after he built his first car. The company began to produce cars,
trucks, vans and SUVs, expanding rapidly through the years. One of Toyota s notable achievements
was the creation of the high end luxury brand, Lexus. Its rival, Honda, came a few years later. Soichiro
Honda first established the Honda Technical Research Institute in 1946 to develop and produce
motorbike engines. In 1948, Honda Motor Company was founded. Honda then joined forces with
finance expert Takeo Fujisawa to build up the company. Toyota s mission ... Show more content on

Global Security Law And Act Of Network Security
Introduction
Global Security Law / Act of Network Security
Global security also called International security. International security consists of the measures taken
by nations and international organizations, such as the United Nations, to ensure mutual survival and
safety. These measures include military action and diplomatic agreements such as treaties and
conventions. International and national security is invariably linked. International security is national
security or state security in the global arena. (Wikipedia, 2014)
The Global Security Act also includes Global Network Security. Network security consists of products
and services used to monitor, detect, and prevent unauthorized access, misuse, malfunctioning, and
destruction of a computer network. It helps to provide and maintain a secure platform to enable users
in the network to perform their critical tasks. Network security is increasingly gaining prominence
especially because the number of hackers who want to extort money or steal critical information has
increased. Not only has the number of networks security threats increased, the level of sophistication
is much higher and traditional defense mechanisms are no match for these threats. Organizations, both
large and small, have begun to realize the importance of network security systems and have increased
their investment in network security. In addition, there is now a growing realization that network
security systems can also increase workforce productivity,

Examples Of Critical Discourse Analysis
CHAPTER 2
THEORITICAL FOUNDATION
2.1 Critical Discourse Analysis
To understand the concept of Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA), it is necessary to see how CDA
defines discourse. Discourse is not simply an isolated textual or dialogical structure (van Dijk, 1988).
It is seen as socially constructed ways that do not only shape but also enable (social) reality (Foucault,
1977; Paltridge, 2006). It involves a dialectical relationship between a particular discursive event and
the situation(s), institution(s), and social structure(s) which frame it (Fairclough Wodak, 1997, p. 258).
It also helps to establish power relations between social classes, gender, or majorities and minorities
groups (Wodak Meyer, 2009). Therefore, CDA acts as an approach that critically investigates the
relationship between discourse and the reproduction of power in social practices and interactions
(Fairclough, 1995 as cited ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Therefore, one of the distinguishing features of DHA is its interdisciplinary method that considers a
variety of different empirical data and background information (Reisigl Wodak, 2001).
The historical dimension is realized by collecting all information regarding the historical background
and the original sources of the object under investigation and exploring diachronic change
(Matouschek et al. 1995; Wodak et al., 1990, 1994 as cited in van Leeuwen Wodak, 1999).
Specifically, the process of analysis in DHA starts by describing the phenomena occurred in texts.
Then, describing the apparent changes. Finally, discussing the result to find how and why change
occurs since the purpose of DHA is to uncover the ideology in diachronic texts (Slavícková,

Debt To Equity Ratio Of Diamond Drillers Inc
The debt to equity ratio of Diamond Drillers, Inc, is 0.66times the debt to equity ratio of industry
averages is 1.07 times.
The debt to equity ratio is a financial, liquidity ratio which compares total debt to total equity of an
entity. It illustrates the percentage of entity financing that comes from creditors and investors.
The debt to equity ratio of Diamond Drillers, Inc, is 0.66 times and industry averages is 1.07 times. So
the debt to equity ratio of Diamond Drillers, Inc, is lower than industry averages. The lower debt to
equity ratio indicates that more investor financing (shareholders) is used than creditor financing (bank
loans or debts).
The lower debt to equity ratio of Diamond Drillers Inc, implies a more financially stable business. The

The inventory turnover of Diamond Drillers, Inc, is 2.5 times the inventory turnover of industry
averages is 2.45 times.
The inventory turnover ratio is an efficiency ratio that represents how effectively inventory is
managed. It measures how many times a business sold its inventories during a year.
The inventory turnover of Diamond Drillers is higher than the industry. It is good to have a higher
inventory turnover since the Diamond Drillers does not overspend by buying too much inventory and
wastes resources by storing non salable inventory. It also shows that the company can effectively sell
the inventory it buys more than the industry.
Even the inventory turnover of Diamond Drillers is better than the industry, but it still not so much
better different.
The larger amount of inventories holding may cause the inventories to become obsolesce or expire and
there will be storage costs and other holding costs incur, so it is good to have smaller inventory

Explain Why Weathering Does Not Produce Significant Landforms
Earth surface is not flat but it consists of slopes. The slopes are either steep or gentle, long and gradual
or short and sudden. Slopes generally covered with soil and vegetation or they can be covered by rock
and rubble. In the evolution of landforms, weathering is followed by mass wasting. Weathering does
not produce significant landforms. Rather, landforms develop as the products of weathering are
removed from the places where they originate. Once weathering weakens rock and breaks it apart,
mass wasting transfers the debris downslope, where a stream, acting as a conveyor belt, usually carries
it away. Although there may be many intermediate stops along the way, the sediment is eventually
transported to its ultimate destination: the sea.

The Greek Philosophers And The Philosophers
The Greek philosophers did not explain the world using Gods. Instead, they preferred to explain the
world using principles. These principles were fundamental in how the philosophers taught their
students. Three philosophers, Plato, Epicures, and Aristotle, used different principles to help them
explain the world and the universe around them. In this essay, the principles of these three
philosophers will be explained and then compared with each other.
When the philosophers spoke of principles, they were referring to what connects everything together
or what makes everything the same. The philosophers wanted to be able to explain the universe using
these principles. Philosophers came up with their own basic principles that they thought ... Show more

And this they must do, even with the prospect of death (Cave 2). It is clear in this quote how important
Plato thought the understanding of philosophy and the soul was. To imply that it is important enough
to understand these ideas that it would be worth it to go back into the cave just to teach this to
someone else shows how devoted he was to this principle. He also believed in immortality of the soul
and the idea that our souls exist before our births, which he spoke about in many of his writings. He
believed that souls exist in three parts; a rational part that wants to know the truth, a spirited part that
wants honor and victory, and an appetitive part which wants food, drink and sex (1). Along with this
idea, he believed that souls are reincarnated into different life forms (1). In conclusion, Plato focuses
on the intellect and the soul to explain the universe.
Epicurus was a philosopher from about 341 270 BC. Epicurus believed that everything in the universe
was made of atoms. He is the first philosopher we have studied that tried to break things down as
current scientists do. He looks at atoms and how they interact just as modern physicists and chemists
do. He believed that everything, everything physical and everything non physical things such as
hearing, which he explains is when atoms bounce off of something that makes noise, sight, he explains

media conversations (Maslowsky, 2012). University of Phoenix accomplishes this through the
interactive website, targeted commercials in adult learner rich audience demographics, and easily
navigated web content. Adult learner programs at traditional universities target the traditional college
student, and by and large their websites have information for the adult earner tacked on to pages and

difference that bears exploration, and likely frustrates potential students and sends them to a system
which, like University of Phoenix, offers a more tailored approach for the busy adult learner who
wishes to study from home.
As regards web content, the sites for any program should be easily located by prospective students.

students. A professional web content manager, who works to put the program at the top

Relationship Between Sexuality And Identity
Discuss the relationship between sexuality and identity in Fun home.
This essay will be examining the relationship between sexuality and identity in the book, Fun Home
(2006) by Alison Bechdel. Bechdel s memoir Fun Home explores the way gender and sexual identity
play important roles in the world. It frames the discovery that Bechdel when she was a young girl
realised she was a lesbian, whilst at the same time finding out that her father is also homosexual and
had been sexually active with males throughout his marriage to her mother, destroying their
relationship. Through the use of visual comic pictures and writing, the books central themes challenge
cultural norms of sexual and gender identity. It questions how associated a daughters open lesbian
identity is with her fathers closeted gay one. Bechdel s sexual discovery throughout the book, is
always linked to her father Bruces sexual identity and it is possible to say that it had an effect on her
own sexuality. She provides the reader with a sample of the identity struggle both her and her father
suffered with to illustrate the experience they both had. The images within the text give only a small
amount of information, where as the text is the most important element. This essay will explore
whether sexuality and identity can be seperated, or whether your sexuality frames who you are with
reference to Watson (2008), Freud (1920) and Fantasia (2011), whilst giving an analytical view at the

New York City Financial Crisis Summary
A financial crisis is a circumstance in which the worth of financial establishments or assets plummets
quickly. A financial crisis is frequently related to a panic or a run on the bank. When this occurs,
investors tend to sell assets or associated with a panic or a run on the banks, in which investors sell off
assets or take out money from banking accounts with the anticipation that the value of those assets
will decrease if they stay at a financial institution (Investopedia, 2016). The purpose of this paper is to
provide a summary of the financial crisis of New York City and Orange County.

Analysis Of Popper On The Falsifiability Of String Theory
So, Francesca Vada A. December 3, 2015
2BIO 9 PHLSCI
Popper on the Falsifiability of String Theory
Karl Popper is one of the greatest philosophers of the 20th century believed that strength of a scientific
theory lies in its both being susceptible to falsification, and not actually being falsified by criticism
made of it. He considered that if a theory cannot, in principle, be falsified by criticism, it is not a
scientific theory.
Today, we are taught that inside an atom, there are protons and neutrons, which are made up of quarks.
String theory said that what we thought as indivisible particles are actually tiny vibrating strings.
Nothing really mystical, but it is a really tiny string. During the 1980s, the idea caught on and started a
string band wagon. The great attraction of the string ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

behave as loops or segments of one dimensional strings. The relevant parameter space might be
inaccessible to us, but it is part of the theory that cannot be avoided. In the cosmological theoretical
reality, regions unlike our own are clearly apparent there, even if we can t reach them. This is what
distinguishes these theories from the approaches Popper was trying to classify as non scientific.
Popper himself understood that theories should be falsifiable in principle, but that modifier is often
forgotten in contemporary discussions. It is simple and it goes like this: if string theory and multiverse
theories help us understand the world, they will grow in acceptance. However, if they prove ultimately
too difficult, or better theories come along, they will be

Essay on The Divine Secrets Of The Ya Ya Sisterhood
Rebecca Wells paints a picture of the various roles that women often must encounter in their lives:
mother, daughter, friend. As said by Charlotte Observer quot; She [Wells] speaks eloquently to what it
means to be a mother, a daughter, a wife and somehow, at last, a person. quot; Wells uses a captivating
style to create a simple plot, memorable symbolism and a reoccurring theme of friendship. The Divine
Secrets of the Ya Ya Sisterhood teaches about the importance of giving and receiving love and finding
joy in everyday life.
The simplistic plot of the novel and the overall theme of love allows the author to span the lives of the
main characters. The reader sees the span of the life of two of the main characters, Sidda and her

In the end, the love between Connor and Sidda wins over the other tragedies in Sidda s life. An
important development in the plot that proves that love can conquer all appears when Vivi s mother
sends her away against her own will to a decollate boarding school away from her friends and family.
While away, Vivi stops eating and becomes very depressed, but her friends continue to write to her
and look for a way to bring her home. In the end their love wins out and they are able to convince one
of their parents(Genevieve) to rescue her and bring her home. QUOTE Love, even in the smallest
form, can sustain through tragedy and triumph the bonds of the ya ya s : Vivi, Necie, Caro and Teensy.
The story line allows the character to triumph over tragedy and rejoice in love, simple stories no

Through the course of the novel, Wells uses the strong symbol of the alligator to represent hurtful,
dangerous and painful things in the world. Vivi talks to Sidda as a young child warning her about the
importance of doing as she was told in order to avoid the dangerous things in life. quot;Even I can t

Drying Is A Mass And Heat Transfer Process Essay
Chapter 1 : Introduction
Drying is a simultaneous mass and heat transfer process that converts a liquid, solid or semi solid
feedstock into a solid product having lower moisture content. This is usually done by applying heat to
evaporate the liquid into a vapor phase. Sometimes drying takes place below the triple point of the
liquid to be removed and the solid phase is directly converted to vapor phase via sublimation as in
case of freeze drying. [1]
As drying must involve a phase change of the liquid to be removed, it is considered as one of the most
energy intensive unit operations. This is due to the high latent heat of vaporization, as well as, the
inefficiency of using hot air as the most common drying medium. Hence, the operating cost of dryers
represents their major cost item.
Drying is an important process in many fields such as chemical, agricultural, ceramics and
pharmaceutical industries. It may be done to have free flowing solids that are easy to handle, to
facilitate the preservation and storage of different materials, to reduce the transportation costs or to
achieve desired quality of products. [2]
Regeneration of adsorptive beds is an important drying application. The operation of such beds
includes three periods. During the first period adsorption takes place till breakthrough. This is
followed by steaming period where live steam is blown through the bed to remove the adsorbate from
the solid desiccant. In the third period; regeneration period, the hot, moist

OVERVIEW FANDOM Hannibal is an American psychological thriller T.V. series that first aired on
April 4th, 2013 on NBC and that was developed and produced by Bryan Fuller of Pushing Daisies and
Wonderfalls fame. Hannibal is loosely based on The Red Dragon, by Thomas Harris, but diverges

Specifically, the series focuses on the budding relationship between Hannibal Lecter and Will Graham,
and the idea that these two men are two of a kind, and uniquely suited to understanding one another,
despite Graham s reluctance to accept it. Much of the popularity of the show comes from the diversity
of the cast and the fully fleshed out characterizations for even minor characters. The cast of the

Compare And Contrast Virginia And New England Colonies
In the New World, various resources, climates, and considerable amounts of land allowed numerous
opportunities for settlers. Those who once yearned to climb the social ladder or gain the freedoms
bestowed from land ownership flocked toward the newfound settlements. Colonization proved to be a
grueling task; however, success was found after adapting to the new environment and facing many
hardships. Two colonies established early in the seventeenth century included Virginia and New
England. Both Virginia and New England were forerunning settlements that differed in the following
senses: political, social, and economical. Politically, Virginia and New England differed in the basis of
their governing systems. Virginia focused on the desire of its individuals: (t)hat our governors by
reason of the corruption of those times they lived in, laid the foundation of our wealth and industry on
the vices of men. This standard of government was an early precursor to democracy and allowed
Virginian s to feel the rights of being freemen. New England, instead of basing their government on
the individual desires of man, governed the colony on the basis of Christianity. The New England
settlers strongly believed the spirit of God would deliver them and create greatness in the colony: the
God of Israel is among us, and ten of us shall be able to resist a thousand of our enemies. The Lord
will make our name a praise and glory. The colony wanted to be set above the rest, or in other words,

Gender and Mathematics Essay
Mathematics is acknowledged as a hard subject. People who are good at it are considered to belong to
a sort of elite. Usually to be accepted in this elite you have to fulfill some requirements and most of
them are related with a specific gender. Math is a God s gift for boys. This has been the perception of
society for a long time. The majority thinks that the nature of mathematics goes along mostly with
masculine attributes, thus, males are more focused on it. Therefore, according to these people boys by
default get to be better in math, with girls being excluded from any kind of decent relation with this
field of study. Even though this perception of boys being better in mathematics than the opposite

The supporters of this perspective follow that the plain reason behind this involvement is that men are
generally better in this field. Moreover, according to a research conducted by Kyriakides and Antoniou
boys are more predisposed to fulfill harder math related tasks better than girls (1). This proves the idea
that boys achievements in math are higher than those of girls. Secondly, there are people who belong
to the other extreme that affirm that girls outperform boys in the science of numbers. Several
researches were conducted to evaluate the performance of both genders based on their grades in high
school. The statistical results of a research in Wales show that 50% of boys and 51% of girls achieved
grades A* C in mathematics (Cann 1). The outcome of data displayed that girls abilities in this
relevant field exceed those of boys. However, girls choose not to attend these mathematics related
majors. Rather they decide to concentrate in the biochemical sciences in order to be a part of the
difference in the world by generating change (Weinstock par. 1). Other advocates of this approach go
far beyond explaining that there are more reasons why girls choose not to devote their selves to
mathematics. The participation in this particular field is affected by numerous factors such as anxiety,
self confidence and enjoyment. Females tend to have negative emotions regarding these factors and
math in general. The reason behind these

One of the players I will be referring to a lot is Colin Kaepernick. He is the one that started the

Theme Of The Sea In The Awakening
In a Victorian society, women are often conformed to the idea that they are nothing more than property
to the men and carer of the children. Throughout The Awakening by Kate Chopin, much of the deeper
meaning in the story is revealed through a number of important symbols to symbolize the rebellious
behavior of Edna Pontellier, a girl who seeks the satisfaction of her own wants and needs. By doing
this Edna is going against the traditional role of women in a Victorian society. In the start of the novel,
Edna engages in her self discovery by becoming more independent and straying away from
conventions. Throughout the novel, Edna participates in rebellious actions such as moving out of her
house and affairs with other men. Towards the end of the novel, Edna feels as though the only way to
truly achieve freedom is by suicide. Edna s rebellious life is represented through symbolism which ...

In The Awakening, Kate Chopin uses the symbol, the sea, as a way to convey Edna s newly found
strength and empowerment. The sea both demonstrate the transformation of her body and

overcoming her fears. Learning to swim is an important experience because it shows how she is now
able to gain control over her body. The statement, The voice of the sea speaks to the soul (Chopin 18),
is powerful due to the fact that it represents how Edna undergoes a dramatic change in character. In
order to express her innermost desires, she has to go from listening and acting upon the influences of
society, to following her own mind. The sea is also seen as a seductive voice that invit[es] the soul to

Why Canada Entered Into Trade Agreement With United States
The term trade can defined as the movement of goods and consumables across the boundaries of the
two regions in order to promote the access to items which are distinct in one region but surplus in the
other. The international trade is as old as the history of mankind. Earlier when there was no concept of
countries, the trade simply meant the movement of goods to far distant places. As soon as man
realized that an access is needed to items that are not available in his region, he travelled and found

was how, the term barter and trade came into existence and people started to enter into agreements to

The main reason for such a strong opposition was supported by the belief of the opposition that
Canada will lose its internal autonomy and become one of the US s 51st state . They also had the
concern that such an agreement will demolish their personal interests with regard to the foreign
policies and other existing trade agreements with other countries.
As every step taken by a government is to ensure the well being of its nation and the prosperity of the
country, Canada was pushed by the same driving force to make a trade deal with US. Since the
primary purpose and advantage offered by a free trade agreement is to exploit the no tariff trade, it
was not the goal of Canadian government while seeking this agreement. The trade tariffs were already
very low, around 1% of the total value of the trade, then a question arises that what Canadian
government was aiming for.
It was the vast economy of the American market which was the target of Canadian government.
Canada desired to get an unrestricted access to the vast economy of US. While on the other side, US
were aiming to get cheap access to the cultural industries as well Energy sector of Canada. This is the
basic essence of a trading relationship where the interests of every party is respected and agreed upon.
According to an estimate, almost 70% of the Canadian export takes place to US markets and similarly,
almost 70% of its imports are from

Ancient Democracy Vs Modern Republic
Ancient Democracy Verses Modern Republic
This work consists of two major parts, one regarding types of governments within Nephite society and
a juxtaposition of ancient American democracy and modern American republicanism. Noel B
Reynolds of BYU stated in his work entitled Government and Legal History in the Book of Mormon,
that
The Nephites were ruled by hereditary kings from 550 to 91 B.C., when the rule changed to a reign of
judges. After the coming of Christ, two centuries of peace under the government of his Church were
followed by a breakdown of society into tribal units and finally by the destruction of the Nephites.

It was the will of the people to have a king though Nephi thought it better that they should have no
king, which is why he declined the title. For his service to them, the people titled their Kings Nephi I,
Nephi II and so forth, which prevailed for several hundred years before a political reformation
occurred under the last king, King Mosiah who gave the people a voice in the direction of their
government.
Nephi appears to have had no sons to inherit a leadership role, unless he purposely never mentioned
any in his record. Subsequently, consecrating a monarch for his people, Nephi separated the function
of high priest or prophet from the monarchy and abdicated ecclesiastical responsibility to his brother
Jacob creating a separation of religion and state. A monarchy consists of the ruling of a nation by one
family usually by hereditary decreed. Traditionally, monarchies have great civic authority and provide
identity for the nation.
The most revered monarch of the Nephites was King Mosiah, the last king because he granted the
Nephites equal status as citizens and a ruling class instead of a single monarch to guide the
government. The people elected to continue with the monarchy with the desire to compel one of the
sons of Mosiah to be the next king, though all declined. This provided Mosiah the opportunity to
change the nature of Nephite

Essay On Ptsd
The third edition of American Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (DSM) of Mental Disorders was the
first publication that officially defined PTSD as the severe trauma exposure manifestation. The fifth
edition of DSM, however, defined trauma as extreme threatening and distressing events involving
actual or threatened death, serious injury, or sexual violence. Undeniably, the concept and origin of
PTSD were more distinctly shown during the First World War, but actually there are evidences present
that the concept and origin of PTSD has occurred prior to the First World War. Mesopotamia is the
ancient Greek name referred to the historic region located within the Tigris Euphrates river system,
establishing the present day of Iraq. The concept ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

as anxiety, affliction, and worry are called disorders in the sense of mental disease and sick body,
wherein anxiety is clinically described as a constricting medical illness, affliction is portrayed as
permanent, and worry as pensive, distinctively differentiating trait anxiety and the state of anxiety

Their Treatment in Ancient Greence (2014), the Greeks believed that the ideal soldiers had to fight to
death as their representation of masculinity. Even though, the courage in the battlefield illustrated the
ideology of fearless Greeks soldiers, but it also came with social pressure because of laws and
regulation against soldiers who fled from the battle, so the soldiers basically were put into a stressful
situation between taking risks of getting wounded or killed in the battlefield while serving in the army
or running away from the battlefield and facing the punishment and disgrace from the society (p.741).

The Two Sides Essay
The Two Sides The views we have are what shapes us, sometimes we have vast knowledge of ideas.
Other times we are limited in what we can understand. We are given the choice of seeking out more of
said idea or choosing to remain as is. Cathedral by Raymond Carver is a story that gives us a look into
what it is like to have our views challenged through experiencing them first hand. We are introduced
to the story by narration and we are given a brief summary of how his wife and the blind man had met
from the narrrator. We learn that the blind man is named Robert, he is the only character that is named
and described in the story. After the exchange of greetings and very detailed description of the dinner
they all enjoyed Robert and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Like the way the Naratator speaks of the blind man s marriage. He makes assumptions on how pitiful
it must have been for his wife to never know the feeling of being complemented for ones appearance
by her husband. How pathetic it was for her to go to her grave knowing that he never knew what she
looked like. I felt sorry for the blind man for a little bit. And then I found myself thinking what a
pitiful life this woman must have led. Imagine a woman who could never see herself as she was seen
in the eyes of her loved one. Carver (p.3) Through the Progression of the story, we see that the main
character starting to form a different outlook on Robert. When the main character and the blind man
are watching television in silence, a documentary about cathedrals airs on the television prompting the
narrator to ask if the blind man had any idea what a cathedral actually looks like. Robert is only able
to describe the process of it being built but asks the narrator to describe one to him. As he attempts to
describe the cathedrals our characters are starting to form this bond. After failing miserably Robert
then asks if he and the narrator can draw a Cathedral together. As they draw we as readers start
becoming more aware of the change happening within the narrator. The narrator keeps drawing with
the encouragement from Ralph, as

Polymers Have Different Structures. They Also Have...
Polymers have different structures. They also have different functions. Describe how the structures of
different polymers relate to their function? Polymers a large molecules made up of a chain of smaller
molecules, known as monomers. The monomers that a polymer is made up of decide its structure and
therefore it s function. These monomers are linked and coiled in a very specific manor giving the
polymer a specific tertiary structure (an extensively coiled and linked polymer chain caused as a result
of the formation of more bonds forming). This tertiary structure is crucial to the function of a polymer
as it denotes the necessary shape of the complementary molecule. This is easier explained through an
example. An example of a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Haemoglobin is just one of the many possible forms and functions of a protein polymer. They all have
different structures, which makes them specialised to carry out a particular function. For example
enzymes. They are roughly spherical in shape due to the tight folding of the polypeptide chains.
Enzymes play important roles in most biological processes, in particular metabolism and synthesis.
The tertiary structure of an enzyme is of particular importance to its function and a slight change in
the chain sequence and therefore it s shape can result in it becoming inactive. Enzymes work by
combining with a substrate to form an enzyme substrate complex, the substrate is then broken down
and released. Each enzyme has a particular substrate that is can breakdown, this will be the substrate
with the complimentary structure to that of the active site of the enzyme. For example starch is only
broken down by amylase. As the shape of the active site depends on the shape of the polymer shape so
does the over all function of the enzyme. Antibodies are involved in the immune response. They re
made up of two light polypeptide chains and two heavy polypeptide chains bonded together.
Antibodies have a variable region which acts in a similar way to the active site of an enzyme. Each
antibody has a variable region that is the complementary shape for a particular antigen and

  • 2. The Benefitions Of Hard Work In My Life As a young child, my Mother always would tell me; If you want something work hard for it. It s that simple. That saying was constantly being stated around the house when my brother or I would want to achieve a certain goal in school, sports or anything. This saying has transformed me over the years into the hard worker that I am to this day. Throughout my life coaches, family, and teachers regularly told me to work hard and give 100% effort no matter what and I will succeed. The characteristic of hard working and constantly giving outstanding effort describes me as a person immensely because I consistently strive to achieve my goals. Ever since the age of ten, my Mother told me do chores if I wanted extra money in order to buy anything my little ten year old heart desired. She composed a chore list and pinned it to the fridge for me to earn a little money, but only if I did the task the best I could. Although somehow my Mother can always tell when my brother or I aren t giving our full potential. How? I am still unsure to this day, but we never wanted the repercussions that came if one of us got caught slacking. Despite giving 100% effort and completing the chores the best I could for money seemed great, I happened to have what seemed to be a mile long chore list. Overtime out of all my chores, I realized that my main income from ages ten to fourteen involved scooping up the dog poop in our backyard for a dollar per pile. Despite the gross appeal, picked up the dog s poop happened to become a steady income rapidly. Everyday after school I made sure the yard was spotless so I could earn my money. As years went on, I stopped getting paid to do household chores and they quickly became an expectation since I live there. With no longer getting paid to do chores I would soon have to get a job. Eventually I got a job, it was this past summer, I helped bail hay for my uncle and helping out on his farm when needed. I made sure I was constantly giving a 100% effort to get that job done because that s what my Mother taught me to do. Since I was consistently hard working, he knew he could rely on me. • 3. Ernest Rutherford Accomplishments Ernest Rutherford is often ascribed as the greatest and most respectable experimental scientist, second to none. His unparalleled success is attributed to his revolutionary work regarding but not limited to the atom. Rutherford s ingenuity and dexterity was able to alter our insight of nature three remarkable times. He first set laws on radioactive decay, explaining it as the spontaneous disintegration of atoms. He then riveted the scientific community when he determined the structure of the atom. Finally, he became the world s first successful alchemist when he triumphantly converted nitrogen to oxygen by splitting the atom. Though his major accomplishments are astounding, he is responsible for even more glories. He made the discovery of alpha ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Rutherford speculated, quite rightly, that the power of the atom was infinitely higher than the energy bonding it together. Prior to World War I, he commented that he didn t think the power of the atom could ever be efficiently extracted, but hoped that ways of achieving this would not be determined before the world was at peace. Unfortunately, for many, controlled nuclear fission was made possible just two years after Rutherford s death, and the rest, well, is history. The world, however, owes a great deal to Ernest Rutherford and his discoveries. Today, the science of physics has propelled to new heights. In France and Switzerland, scientists at CERN (the European Organization for Nuclear Research) are in the process of venturing with the world s largest particle accelerator, called the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), to unlock some of the last mysteries of particle physics the existence of substances such as dark matter, dark energy, and something called Higgs Boson. Suffice to say, the LHC is an underground tunnel, circular in nature, with a circumference of about 27km. The basic idea is to send beams of protons in opposite directions into one another, having them collide at almost the speed of light and observing what happens. Scientists are hoping to find evidence that verifies their standard model of particle physics. Rutherford s greatest contribution to the development of Science is of course his model of the atom. The Japanese scientist Hantaro Nagaoka had developed a similar model six years before Rutherford, but because it went against the teachings of classical electrodynamics it had not been taken seriously. However, Rutherford was such a differential figure, and had verified the concept with more concrete proof and calculations, hence earning the title Father of nuclear physics . Summary This paper will provide information on the volcanoes of Hawaii, where it is known to be the home of one of the world s largest volcanic islands, merely second to Iceland. It is not just the beautiful landscapes and wildlife that spark the interest to this particular area, but the uniqueness of the Hawaiian volcanoes and islands themselves are what make the area so significant. There will be information spanning from the history of the origin of the islands to how Hawaii must adjust to the volcanic hazards in order to keep the area livable. With these ideas in mind, I will first address background information on the area and set the scene as to what makes this area so special. Then I will transition to the history of how the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Essentially, the key fact that makes the islands of Hawaii so unique and worthy of studying is that nearly the entire mountain range is built entirely by volcanic activity and each island is the top of an enormous volcanic mountain. These exceptional qualities fuel the study of how the islands themselves were created, in order to answer the curiosities behind the composition of some of the most extravagant volcanoes in the world. III. History of the Hawaiian Islands The basic theory of plate tectonics says that all volcanic activity should occur between lithosphere plates (Physical Geology). However, the Hawaiian Islands bend this rule by being located directly in the middle of the Pacific plate. The Hawaiian volcanoes are known as intraplate volcanoes. This may not seem possible because it disrupts the rule of plate tectonics, but there s the exception of a hot spot. T. Wilson suggested that the Pacific plate moved in the northwestward direction over a melting spot deep within the mantle, and this hot spot remained relatively stationary and supplied magma to the moving Pacific plate to form the Hawaiian Island chain (Volcanoes in the Sea). In order to prove this suggestion, the structure of the Hawaiian Islands must be in line with a hot spot origin. This will be ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. Examples Of Critical Discourse Analysis CHAPTER 2 THEORITICAL FOUNDATION 2.1 Critical Discourse Analysis To understand the concept of Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA), it is necessary to see how CDA defines discourse. Discourse is not simply an isolated textual or dialogical structure (van Dijk, 1988). It is seen as socially constructed ways that do not only shape but also enable (social) reality (Foucault, 1977; Paltridge, 2006). It involves a dialectical relationship between a particular discursive event and the situation(s), institution(s), and social structure(s) which frame it (Fairclough Wodak, 1997, p. 258). It also helps to establish power relations between social classes, gender, or majorities and minorities groups (Wodak Meyer, 2009). Therefore, CDA acts as an approach that critically investigates the relationship between discourse and the reproduction of power in social practices and interactions (Fairclough, 1995 as cited ... Weathering does not produce significant landforms. Rather, landforms develop as the products of weathering are removed from the places where they originate. Once weathering weakens rock and breaks it apart, mass wasting transfers the debris downslope, where a stream, acting as a conveyor belt, usually carries it away. December 3, 2015 2BIO 9 PHLSCI Popper on the Falsifiability of String Theory Karl Popper is one of the greatest philosophers of the 20th century believed that strength of a scientific theory lies in its both being susceptible to falsification, and not actually being falsified by criticism made of it. He considered that if a theory cannot, in principle, be falsified by criticism, it is not a scientific theory. Today, we are taught that inside an atom, there are protons and neutrons, which are made up of quarks. In the cosmological theoretical reality, regions unlike our own are clearly apparent there, even if we can t reach them. • 27. Drying Is A Mass And Heat Transfer Process Essay Chapter 1 : Introduction Drying is a simultaneous mass and heat transfer process that converts a liquid, solid or semi solid feedstock into a solid product having lower moisture content. This is usually done by applying heat to evaporate the liquid into a vapor phase. Sometimes drying takes place below the triple point of the liquid to be removed and the solid phase is directly converted to vapor phase via sublimation as in case of freeze drying. [1] As drying must involve a phase change of the liquid to be removed, it is considered as one of the most energy intensive unit operations. This is due to the high latent heat of vaporization, as well as, the inefficiency of using hot air as the most common drying medium. Hence, the operating cost of dryers represents their major cost item. Drying is an important process in many fields such as chemical, agricultural, ceramics and pharmaceutical industries. It may be done to have free flowing solids that are easy to handle, to facilitate the preservation and storage of different materials, to reduce the transportation costs or to achieve desired quality of products. [2] Regeneration of adsorptive beds is an important drying application. The operation of such beds includes three periods. During the first period adsorption takes place till breakthrough. This is followed by steaming period where live steam is blown through the bed to remove the adsorbate from the solid desiccant. In the third period; regeneration period, the hot, moist ... Those who once yearned to climb the social ladder or gain the freedoms bestowed from land ownership flocked toward the newfound settlements. Two colonies established early in the seventeenth century included Virginia and New England. Both Virginia and New England were forerunning settlements that differed in the following senses: political, social, and economical. Politically, Virginia and New England differed in the basis of their governing systems. Virginia focused on the desire of its individuals: (t)hat our governors by reason of the corruption of those times they lived in, laid the foundation of our wealth and industry on the vices of men. This standard of government was an early precursor to democracy and allowed Virginian s to feel the rights of being freemen. New England, instead of basing their government on the individual desires of man, governed the colony on the basis of Christianity. The New England settlers strongly believed the spirit of God would deliver them and create greatness in the colony: the God of Israel is among us, and ten of us shall be able to resist a thousand of our enemies. Moreover, according to a research conducted by Kyriakides and Antoniou boys are more predisposed to fulfill harder math related tasks better than girls (1). Secondly, there are people who belong to the other extreme that affirm that girls outperform boys in the science of numbers. Several researches were conducted to evaluate the performance of both genders based on their grades in high school. The statistical results of a research in Wales show that 50% of boys and 51% of girls achieved grades A* C in mathematics (Cann 1). The outcome of data displayed that girls abilities in this relevant field exceed those of boys. However, girls choose not to attend these mathematics related majors. Why Canada Entered Into Trade Agreement With United States The term trade can defined as the movement of goods and consumables across the boundaries of the two regions in order to promote the access to items which are distinct in one region but surplus in the other. The international trade is as old as the history of mankind. Earlier when there was no concept of countries, the trade simply meant the movement of goods to far distant places. As soon as man realized that an access is needed to items that are not available in his region, he travelled and found them abroad. Now the difficulty was to gain control over those items while maintaining peace. This was how, the term barter and trade came into existence and people started to enter into agreements to transfer goods for goods or goods for money. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As every step taken by a government is to ensure the well being of its nation and the prosperity of the country, Canada was pushed by the same driving force to make a trade deal with US. Since the primary purpose and advantage offered by a free trade agreement is to exploit the no tariff trade, it was not the goal of Canadian government while seeking this agreement. The trade tariffs were already very low, around 1% of the total value of the trade, then a question arises that what Canadian government was aiming for. It was the vast economy of the American market which was the target of Canadian government. Canada desired to get an unrestricted access to the vast economy of US. Undeniably, the concept and origin of PTSD were more distinctly shown during the First World War, but actually there are evidences present that the concept and origin of PTSD has occurred prior to the First World War. Mesopotamia is the ancient Greek name referred to the historic region located within the Tigris Euphrates river system, establishing the present day of Iraq. The concept ... In the Tusculanae Disputationes, a series of books written by Cicero, the negative emotions such as anxiety, affliction, and worry are called disorders in the sense of mental disease and sick body, wherein anxiety is clinically described as a constricting medical illness, affliction is portrayed as permanent, and worry as pensive, distinctively differentiating trait anxiety and the state of anxiety (Crocq, 2015, p. 320). The article written by Ustinova and Cardeña called Combat Stress Disorder and Their Treatment in Ancient Greence (2014), the Greeks believed that the ideal soldiers had to fight to death as their representation of masculinity. Even though, the courage in the battlefield illustrated the ideology of fearless Greeks soldiers, but it also came with social pressure because of laws and regulation against soldiers who fled from the battle, so the soldiers basically were put into a stressful situation between taking risks of getting wounded or killed in the battlefield while serving in the army or running away from the battlefield and facing the punishment and disgrace from the society (p.741). • 44. The Two Sides Essay The Two Sides The views we have are what shapes us, sometimes we have vast knowledge of ideas. Other times we are limited in what we can understand. We are given the choice of seeking out more of said idea or choosing to remain as is. Cathedral by Raymond Carver is a story that gives us a look into what it is like to have our views challenged through experiencing them first hand. We are introduced to the story by narration and we are given a brief summary of how his wife and the blind man had met from the narrrator. We learn that the blind man is named Robert, he is the only character that is named and described in the story. After the exchange of greetings and very detailed description of the dinner they all enjoyed Robert and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Like the way the Naratator speaks of the blind man s marriage. He makes assumptions on how pitiful it must have been for his wife to never know the feeling of being complemented for ones appearance by her husband. How pathetic it was for her to go to her grave knowing that he never knew what she looked like. I felt sorry for the blind man for a little bit. And then I found myself thinking what a pitiful life this woman must have led. Imagine a woman who could never see herself as she was seen in the eyes of her loved one. Carver (p.3) Through the Progression of the story, we see that the main character starting to form a different outlook on Robert. When the main character and the blind man are watching television in silence, a documentary about cathedrals airs on the television prompting the narrator to ask if the blind man had any idea what a cathedral actually looks like. Robert is only able to describe the process of it being built but asks the narrator to describe one to him. As he attempts to describe the cathedrals our characters are starting to form this bond. After failing miserably Robert then asks if he and the narrator can draw a Cathedral together. As they draw we as readers start becoming more aware of the change happening within the narrator. The narrator keeps drawing with the encouragement from Ralph, as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 45. Polymers Have Different Structures. They Also Have... Polymers have different structures. They also have different functions. Describe how the structures of different polymers relate to their function? Polymers a large molecules made up of a chain of smaller molecules, known as monomers. The monomers that a polymer is made up of decide its structure and therefore it s function. These monomers are linked and coiled in a very specific manor giving the polymer a specific tertiary structure (an extensively coiled and linked polymer chain caused as a result of the formation of more bonds forming). This tertiary structure is crucial to the function of a polymer as it denotes the necessary shape of the complementary molecule. This is easier explained through an example. An example of a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Haemoglobin is just one of the many possible forms and functions of a protein polymer. They all have different structures, which makes them specialised to carry out a particular function. For example enzymes. They are roughly spherical in shape due to the tight folding of the polypeptide chains. Enzymes play important roles in most biological processes, in particular metabolism and synthesis. The tertiary structure of an enzyme is of particular importance to its function and a slight change in the chain sequence and therefore it s shape can result in it becoming inactive. Enzymes work by combining with a substrate to form an enzyme substrate complex, the substrate is then broken down and released. Each enzyme has a particular substrate that is can breakdown, this will be the substrate with the complimentary structure to that of the active site of the enzyme. For example starch is only broken down by amylase. As the shape of the active site depends on the shape of the polymer shape so does the over all function of the enzyme. Antibodies are involved in the immune response. They re made up of two light polypeptide chains and two heavy polypeptide chains bonded together. Antibodies have a variable region which acts in a similar way to the active site of an enzyme. Each antibody has a variable region that is the complementary shape for a particular antigen and ...
