Cause And Effect Essay On Stress
Effects of Stress Stress is a reaction to a situation when presented with a challenge, everyone
experiences stress at some point. Stress can lead to emotional, psychological and even physical
problems including heart disease, high blood pressure, chest pains or irregular heartbeats.
(Nahrendorf) While its effects vary the overall three main effects occur from stress being mental
instability, eating habits, and the body physically.
The most common effect of stress comes in the form of muscle pains or headaches. The reasoning for
this is because when the body is stressed, muscles tense up. It is a safety reaction done by the body to
shield itself from injury and pain. Eventually when stress fades the muscles will relax and the feeling
will pass, but due to the amount of time the muscles are in this state a side effect is often headaches or
even migraines. The respiratory system is also at risk during states of stress causing breathing to
become more intense. That is not an issue for most people, however those with breathing disorders
such as asthma or emphysema can pose a bigger problem. Additionally, some cases of stress can lead
to hyperventilation or a panic attack, which ties into the effects of the cardiovascular system, mainly
blood pressure. This mostly occurs through chronic stress or stress over a longer period. Finally,
during high periods of stress an excess of glucose, extra energy for an emergency, known to most as
fight or flight. All this extra blood

Neanderthals
Ever since Neanderthals have been discovered they have been misunderstood. From their name,
physical traits, and their brain power we have misrepresented them in our novels, comic sketches,
cartoons, movies and even in scientific literature for a while. Recently in the past couple of decades
we have been gaining a better perspective of them through advancements in technology and scientific
methods. Here we are going to discuss some of the evidence that led our ancestors to moving out of
Africa and who they were. Taking a look at their environment, archaeological sites and technologies.
Then we will discuss the rise of the Neanderthals and what led them to being prominent in Europe
before we ever got there. We will then go over when our two ... Show more content on

Analysis Of Amazon s Amazon Net Revenue
Introduction
Amazon.com was founded by Jeff Bezos in 1994 in his own personal garage. Name after the largest
river in South Africa, the Amazon River, Bezos knew he could create a retail website that would not
have any limitations by first selling books to his consumers online and later diversifying his inventory.
The online website launched on July 16, 1995 and in time, Amazon has become one of the leading
online business retailer in the world. In 2015 Amazon net revenue was 107.01 Billion US dollars, a
major growth from 2013, which was 74.45 billion. (Statista.com). Great marketing strategies
contributed to the success to Amazon s online business by bringing low prices, unlimited inventory,
convenience and fast delivery to their customers. Amazon build relationships with third party sellers
nationally and internationally, which contributes to 40% of their product sales today (AmazonFresh).
The three elements created by Amazon which help contribute to their success: are the fulfillment
centers, Amazon Prime, and AmazonFresh. First offering two day delivery then a later evolving to
same day delivery in select locations, Amazon is slowly working towards surpassing their competitors.
With the raise of customer s orders, many wonder if the company will be able to continue meeting the
demands of same day delivery.
Since the launch of Amazon.com in 1995, Amazon employs 50,000 full time employees with
competitive wages and benefits(Amazon.com). The success worldwide makes Amazon

What Is The Theme Of Riders To The Sea
INTRODUCTION
Riders to the Sea is a one act play written by Irish playwright John Millington Synge. J.M. Synge,
after visiting the Aran Islands situated off the Irish coast, and found inspiration in the peasant life of
rural Ireland. He started making annual trips in the summer and studied the lives of ordinary people
and observed their superstitions, culture and folklore. This play was based on his experiences while he
was there. On one of his trips he heard the story of a man whose body was found washed up on the
shore on the Aran Islands. After hearing that story, he was inspired to write a play, and Riders to the
Sea was written.
It is considered to be one of the greatest one act plays of modern theatre, it combines elements of rural

Synge himself spent time listening to and recording the distinctive speech patterns of the Aran Islands
before writing the play. The rhythm of the play is defined by the rhythms of speech of the people
living on those islands, which give the play a clear sense of place, time, and community.
The characters unusual turns of phrase (for instance, The young priest is after bringing them, to mean
The young priest brought them ) can sound strange to the modern reader. They would have seemed
just as strange to audiences in 1904 of Dublin and London. The language of Riders to the Sea belongs
specifically to the fishing communities of the Aran Islands. Synge has transformed it.
Homely details add to the realism of the play. Simple words are used repeatedly, like they might be in
fairy tales. When Bartley is looking for a piece of rope, Cathleen says Give it to him, Nora; it s on a
nail by the white boards. I hung it up this morning, for the pig with the black feet was eating it. The
symbolic use of colour is also typical for the play. Significantly, the necessary rope is hung up by the
white boards that will be used for Bartley s

Premature Hair Dyeing
Every woman s worst nightmare is gray hairs because they are the first sign of aging and they make
the whole hair look awful. So, in order to cover these hairs, women are ready to try almost anything.
The most common way to cover gray hairs is with the help of store bought hair dyes, but, the effects
are short term and these hair dyes come with a lot of side effects due to the high presence of harmful
chemicals.
Premature hair graying is a problem that may be a consequence of numerous health problems and poor
diets. It may be a result of hormonal imbalance, smoking, pollution, too much stress, chronic colds,
sinusitis, and thyroid disorders. Gray hairs may also appear due to low amounts of melanin.
If you want to avoid the negative side effects from hair dyes, but if you still want to cover gray hairs,
you should know that there are numerous alternative approaches you can try. But, before we present
one of these methods, you should know the importance of leading a healthier diet consisted of less
processed foods and more organic, raw food.

The Results Of The Election Of Donald Trump
Although the results of the 2016 presidential election contradicted months of numerous surveys
conducted by pollsters and pundits predicting a Democratic victory, it should not have been surprising
to individuals familiar with the current political science research on American politics. Despite the
some opinions that the election of Donald Trump marked a political watershed, underlying factors
such as partisanship, a topic with decades of research for those familiar with American politics,
ultimately resulted in the business and real estate mogul in being inaugurated as the 45th President of
the United States. Partisanship proved to be a dominant force that influenced the 2016 election in the
various aspects such as unwavering party ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the Green s chapter How Partisan Attachment Structure Politics, the argument is made that
partisans sense that they are part of a team and thus, feel themselves to be part of the constant
competition for public support and control of government that typifies party politics (Green 219). A
counterpoint could be made by justifying that partisans may genuinely feel that their own party s
candidate has their best interests at heart . However, after controlling for evaluations of the incumbent
administration s performance, the effects of party identification still persisted (Green 219). Ultimately,
party identification predicts the vote because partisans pull for their team and the social groups that it
symbolizes while at the same time rooting against the other party and its allied social groups (Green
220). This assertion can be verified using the exit poll results from the 2016 election, taken from
CNN. African Americans, a group that consistently votes for the Democratic candidate, continued to
vote for the Democratic candidate in 2016, by a 89% to 8% margin. Furthermore, Donald Trump
dominated his key demographic, uneducated white voters, by a 66% to 29% margin ( 2016 Election
Exit Polls ). This is consistent with the idea that partisans pull for their team and the social groups it
symbolizes as Barack Obama won the African American vote by a

The Attacks on the Berlin Wall ...Indeed, under certain conditions, our obligations are to resist unjust
and unfair schemes, and this can include a duty to disobey a law (Richard Dagger). An example for
this quote would be The Berlin Wall in Berlin, Germany from 1961 1989. The Wall was set up to keep
the fascist West Berlin away from Communist East Berlin. However, the wall was fuel to the fire of
civil disobedience in Berlin, Germany. Most of the civilians undertook civil disobedience to fight the

Germans were clamouring at the wall demanding to be let through. (Allen 38). The Germans had lost
most of their respect for those with the government in any way and they showed this through their

Synthesis Paper Water is an essential quality in life that you need to live. Yet many people don t
realize that how important it is in life until it could be taken away. John Thorson, a water rights and
lawyer, says water links us to our neighbor in a way more profound and complex than any other. It is a
way people are connected around economically, socially, and environmentally. Some struggle to have
clean water to drink and others can not find clean water at all. Pollution of water is a real and
dangerous thing that is happening in the city of Flint, Michigan. Colby Itkowitz writes an article, The

On January 9, Charleston, West Virginia residents began to smell a strong odor in the air. There were
several complaints and something was obviously wrong. Inspectors soon came upon a 40,000 gallon
tank that had been leaking from a chemical storage unit. The object was an oily substance. It had run
into the Elk River just upstream from an intake of a drinking water supply for 300,000 people. The
chemical that leaked into the river was used for washing mined coal. At 6 p.m., after residents had
been using their tap water all day, Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin declared a state of emergency, ordering
people in nine counties not to drink, cook with or bathe in the contaminated water. (Weeks) If there isn
t any water to drink from the faucet then how do you get any water? People quickly went for stores to
get bottles of water so they could at least drink. After some test the government said the water was
okay to use. Yet people were still filling up the hospital with unknown rashes, nausea, and other
symptoms. The spill revealed the flaws and uncertainty of the federal and state laws. This time the
water linked the people of Charleston to the government. The government didn t take the right
precautions and told the people the water was safe to drink. But people kept getting sick. So they
thought maybe there is still something wrong in the water and then told people that the water might

Boxer Rebellion Dbq Essay
First of all, imperialism impacted China by changing their ideology and affecting their nationalism.
When China became imperialized, their identity changed by following the traditions and the law of the
nations. The chinese were unsatisfied with the nation s ideologies and rules, which lead to The Boxer
Rebellion in 1899. A secret society, Righteous Harmonious Fists, lead rebellions around the country.
In document two Western Perspective, it portrays Germany s point of view of The Boxer Rebellion.
Wilhelm II thinks the chinese have overturned their laws, neglecting their cultural beliefs. This is
important because China is deciding to ignore the Nation s laws and their Ideology. Even Though the

It s Time to Move Beyound Race Essay
In Michael Omi and Howard Winant s essay Racial Formation , we see how the tendency to assign
each individual a specific race as misleading. This essay suggests that race is not merely biological,
but rather lays more in sociology and historical perspective. Once we look at someone and say, They
re white , it brings forth all the stereotype s that go along with that race , and once the race is assigned,
it is assumed that we can know something about the person.
Indeed, if we were to accept that people do fall nicely into specific races, it would seem to ascribe a
sort of universality to the group. In other words, if a black man from Kenya was raised in Chicago, IL,
rather than Kenya, due to his biological race, it could be assumed the ... Show more content on

This also doesn t convince us that attributing every individual to a certain category is even beneficial
or necessary.
Ultimately, the paper states that once we designate someone as a certain race, we then have a basis to
differentiate ourselves. This serves a people in power the most, as when the Irish Americans, though
viewed as somewhat unruly, were still able to enter and run for public office because of naturalization
laws of the late nineteenth century. Once it was established in the United States that there were
competing groups out there in the labor force, namely African, Asian, Latin, and Mexican Americans,
it became advantageous to draw a color line to create a large group, those of lighter skin color, to raise
and continue to hold the power through numbers and mass alone.
Once it becomes established that a group s tendencies are of a natural prescription, as in the Ethnic
Notions film, and once the greater society adheres to the simple guidelines fed to them, the argument
is then taken out of the minority group s hands. Immutable then would describe the group lacking
power enough to break the stereotype. This social construction of race, one that lumps a mass of
people into an ambiguous category, becomes an enigma. In order for the group to break free from this,
they must acquire a perspective, but their morale is so beaten that they are happy to have any place in
the society, so the enigma grows. One thing is evident; we could

Examples Of Humor In The Things They Carried
3.0 Trauma and Interaction
Repressed thoughts can re express and influence soldiers conversational interaction. They manifest as
gallows humour, which illustrates the soldiers tendency to adopt inappropriate dark jokes to release
their stress.
In The Things They Carried, the soldiers gallows humour is a manifestation of their repressed fear of
death. This is seen through the character voice of Azar a soldier in the Alpha Company. In The Man I
Killed, the embedded dialogue that interrupts O Brien s main narrative shows Azar comparing the man
O Brien killed to breakfast cereals. Shredded fuckin Wheat , oatmeal or Rice Krispies : the cereal
image illustrates the deformed, porous corpse. Contrast to O Brien s detailed and heartfelt tribute to
the dead soldier, Azar s interruptive and anti climatic allusion to cereals ridicules the body and
dismisses the seriousness of the situation. Likewise, in In The Field, Azar uses inappropriate puns like
Wasted in the waste and biting the dirt to discuss Kiowa s death in the sewage field. His amused tone
is absurd, given the depressing situation of the men who are witnessing their comrades deaths.
However, gallows humour has their origin from the unconscious . Azar s dark humour stems from his
repressed fear of death, which O Brien s collage ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Tommy Boy Essay

love? If so, the movie Tommy Boy is the movie to watch. The movie Tommy Boy written by Terry
and Bonnie Turner, is a humorous movie that shows ambition, along with a strong friendship
throughout the film that will have everyone laughing. Throughout the movie, Tommy Calahan, a

his father s auto part business. As he is put to the test to find business owners who will purchase

It explains that laughing is a social activity. It is also something that is contagious and may be used as
a coping mechanism. It (explains) how there may be a region in the brain that responds to and controls
laughter. Provine argues how laughter is actually less often a product of a joke then we deem believe.
In fact according to Provine only 10 to 20 percent of the reason why we laughed is because of a joke
or amusing situation (p. 1). But, instead it is by being around people we are well acquainted with or

The average spark plug life now is 30,000 miles, but there are some plugs that last up to 100,000
miles. Marshal Brain claims that there is another extra part that a gasoline car has, called a carburetor.
A carburetor is the part that will mix the gasoline with air before it get put into a cylinder. The second
type of vehicle is diesel fueled. Diesel engines are the most simple of the three types. The diesel fuel
doesnt need a carburetor to mix the fuel with air before it is injected in the engines cylinder. Marshal
Brain reported that diesel fuel can be directly injected and mixed with the air in the cylinder. Another
thing that diesel vehicles dont need are spark plugs, diesel compressed with the air can ignite giving
the power needed for the engine with out a spark. However on cold days diesel engines dont get hot
enough for the compressed air and diesel to ignite by itself. Glow plugs are similar to spark plugs but
they heat up the chamber in the cylinder, and dont have a spark. Glow plugs get used only when it is

Besides the fact that he conquered Moscow, the Russians did not surrender. Instead, they burned the
city before the French got there, so the shelter and supplies that Napoleon was counting on were
destroyed. So, his army had to retreat back to Germany, while being chased and hunted by the
Russians. The whole Russian campaign ended up as a complete failure. He lost almost all of his
500,000 men that he had started with. In 1810, he divorced Josephine and married the daughter of the
Austrian Emperor, Marie Louise, in a last attempt to improve relations. Upon his return to France, the
Prussians, Russians, Swedish, and the British started the War of Liberation against him. His army was
soon forced over the Rhine at the Battle of Leipzig. However, the allied armies did not accept the plan
and they demanded that the brother of Louis XVI, Louis XVIII, be put on the throne. Napoleon was
sent to rule the Island of Elba in 1813 with the British Navy guarding the Island. But, in 1815, he
returned to Paris and his old armies quickly gathered around him, already sick of the new king. The
allies were threatening to invade France again since they heard of the return of Napoleon, so he
quickly organized a new army and marched them into Belgium to meet the British and Prussian
armies. In Ligny, he defeated the Prussians and then marched to Waterloo to meet the British under
Wellington. At first, he was doing well in the battle.

information, politicians can garner substantially more media attention for themselves (Niven). But, as
one inspects the features of all mass media closely, a pattern of specific contents and people constantly
being under the radar can be noticed. The boundless attention from viewers, reporters and advertisers
bring fame, and support to candidates, whether it being for negative or positive purposes. While
covering every aspect of candidates, The mass media s representation of campaign discourse
influences whether voters have the opportunity to scrutinize the candidates issue priorities and policy
proposals (Hayes). High ratings, biased opinions, exaggerated news, and politically incorrect
expressions are usually the type of contents drawing the society to itself. Similarly, due to his erratic
and unexpected behavior, Trump has gained vast news coverage, risen to fame through social media,
and gotten both honored and dishonored simultaneously throughout his candidacy.

The Controversy Over Gay Parent Adoption
Gay Parent Adoptions
Many states laws deny children in foster care, healthy, loving homes simply because of a potential
parent s sexual orientation (Gray, 2006), The catholic church as well as other organization s oppose
gay adoption based upon religious teachings, while others debate the legality of it (Gray, 2006). In
today s society, many children grow up to be emotionally stable and successful whether they have a
heterosexual couple as parents or a same sex couple as parents. Gay parent adoptions are an equal
right, as they are becoming more mainstream and are as equally stable as heterosexual adoptions.
Adoption Process
Problems of neglect and abuse begin in the biological home when the biological parents are using
drugs or alcohol. Children s Services are called in to remove the children from the home and are
placed into foster care. It is then that the biological parents of the children have two years to complete
counseling or a treatment program to regain the custody of their children from the State. If, after these
two years the biological parent has not been successful in their program, the State maintains custody
of the children and the children are then legally up for adoption. All prospective adoptive parents must
complete a home study (parenting classes) to verify their competency. Once completed, the parents
search for their adoptive child.
Local and state governments play an important role in gay parent adoptions. Two states, Mississippi
and Utah,

Google Making USupid Logos
In Is Google Making Us Stupid? (2008), Nicholas Carr maintains that the advent of the Internet has
produced a shallow generation of information customers who lack the ability to deeply engage with
and critically think about a text. To support the argument, Carr draws on personal and historical
anecdotes and one scientific study. The purpose of Carr s article is to open a dialogue about the
potentially adverse effects the Internet could have on humans cognitive processes. Carr establishes an
informal relationship with the audience, who are generally well educated, upper middle class
individuals. Because the audience is educated, they are very capable of critically thinking. However,
Carr s use of other rhetorical strategies disarms them and detracts from the dearth of logos. His essay
is rife with numerous unfounded premises, poor evidence, and logical fallacies. Because of this lack of
logos is in a way compensated by including numerous appeals to ethos and pathos, the audience is
likely to find the article persuasive unless they re read the article deeply with a critical lens. Carr s
thesis is founded on two main premises: first, the population s ... Show more content on

The study has several validity issues: first, there was no control group, nor was there a pre test. This
means that there was no baseline to compare the results to, nor was there a control group to determine

journal databases, which are frequented by students and researchers more often than the general
population. Therefore, the sample is not representative of the general population and the results cannot
be generalized to the broader population, which Carr did. Because this methodologically unsound
study was the only one he cited, it is evident the essay lacks logos. Therefore, the first premise cannot

American Traditions In Ww1
As the war in Europe raged on, President Woodrow Wilson aimed to keep the United States out of the
war, and many Americans agreed. It was an American tradition to stay out of the wars of Europe, and
many people did not want to break that tradition. On August 4, 1914 Wilson formally announces the
United States neutrality, encouraging Americans to be impartial in thought as well as in action. Even
though America was neutral, several Americans sided with different countries. Many German and
Irish Americans supported the Central powers. Other Americans supported the Allies, wanting to side
with Britain. They shared a similar language, history, and culture. Slavic Americans also sided with
the Allies. To win American support, the Allied and Central

Case Study Of Couch Taters And King Korn
A) Issue 1 Is there an offer made by either Couch Taters or King Korn? Rule An offer is an expression
made by one party (offeror) to another party (offeree) communicating the offeror s willingness to
perform a promise. The offer must be communicated to the offeree in order for it to be effective.
However, for some instances, a communication may not be an offer but a mere response to a request
for information. Harvey v Facey (1893). Application When Homer called King Korn, he was just
making price enquiries for the purchase of 10000kg of corn grain. Follow by that, Couch Taters made
another price enquiries when Homer asked King Korn for a price reduction for larger purchase order.

Positive And Negative Consequences Of Repealing The Jones Act
Cost Analysis:
I firmly believe, repealing the jones act would certainly make American economy prosperous. In this
section I will bolster my opinion by analyzing some positive and negative consequences of repealing
the act in terms of cost, economic impact, and national safety.
Positive Consequences of repealing Jones act:
Repealing the Jones Act could benefit the American economy, as it is cheaper to build ships outside
USA and hiring foreign crew
Building ships in America is certainly costly affair. It could cost five times more than the ship built
outside USA due high labor rates. Thus, repealing the jones act, means American companies can
lookout for cheaper options and buy vessels made in foreign countries at cheaper rates.
Wages for foreign crews are substantially lower than American crews. American crews cost nearly 4.5
times more than foreign crews. These wages make up nearly 75 percent of the operating cost
difference between the two. If foreign shippers were permitted to enter the U.S. market, American
companies would be forced to compete, and lower both their wages and prices to more reasonable
levels.
Cost of living would be significantly cheaper in states like Hawaii, Alaska, Puerto Rico
Currently people from states like Hawaii, Alaska, Puerto Rico have to spend a lot of money to get
goods due to higher freight transportation rates imposed by the Jones act. For example, it costs about
$750 to ship a 45 foot container from Los Angeles to Shanghai, but it costs $8,500 to ship the same
container from Los Angeles to Honolulu. This means that it costs 11 times more money to ship
something to some domestic locations than international ones. Thus, repealing jones act, the cost of
living in Hawaii, Alaska, Puerto Rico would decrease greatly as residents would not have to spend as
much money to get goods, from mainland America or from a foreign nation.
Economic boost for American Industries
Relaxing the Jones Act would lead to an economic boost for many industries across the nation, and
provide more goods at lower prices for American consumers. However, many Americans re simply
unaware of the impact that the extra shipping costs of the Jones Act has on their lives, and therefore
efforts to

NHL suspensions
What causes a suspension on the ice or off the ice? NHL suspensions is similar to NFL suspensions.
Hockey players could be suspended for making contact with referee, blindsided hit, fights, or other.
Players also could be suspended for off the ice incidents as the NFL. But NHL players hardly ever get
suspended for something they do off the ice.
In the NHL, there have been sixteen infractions in the 2015 season. 1. Elbowing a player: using your

Benefits Of Space Exploration
Billions of dollars is used every year by the world s space exploration program. But does this benefit
us at all? Good morning 8 romero and mr mcgowan today i will be talking about how space
exploration is a waste of money. Why do we need to waste our money to find out if there is water on

or feeding the starving millions around the globe, the needs of humanity should always be our first
priority so I strongly agree that space exploration is a waste of money. In this essay, I will be stating
why space exploration gives us no direct benefit, that the earth s problems have not yet been fully

As I have mentioned earlier, we should be spending our money on things that will help us here on
earth, what are a few pictures of our planet going to do? With 18 billion dollars we could be finding a
cure for cancer, feeding the starving millions around the world and we could be building Children s
hospitals in poor areas so the poor can afford to take their suffering children to a doctor, we could do
all these things but NASA would rather waste all this money for some pretty pictures of our planet.
Some would say that I m over exaggerating and that NASA has actually given us something beneficial
like finding more planets. But tell me, is one planet that NASA found going to help find a cure for
cancer? This is why I think that humanity s needs on earth should be our first priority and not some
pretty pictures of our planet above. The earth s problems have not yet been fully taken care of, so why
should we go roaming around other planets when we have problems down here on earth. There are
many major crises going on at our own planet, two of which include global warming and the
worldwide economic crisis. If the government does not take care of the economic crisis with care then
we will all end up poor. How can we take care of global warming, economic crisis and take care of

Evaluation Of A Summative Evaluation
Component Two
Type of evaluation The type of evaluation that will be conducted will be a summative evaluation. The
summative evaluation will be conducted at the end of the program to see if the goals of the program
were accomplished. Were the children able to learn about nutrition
Evaluation Goals
1) To determine if this program is successful in educating the children in various cooking techniques.
2) To help children in a low income area discover affordable ways to meal preparation.
3) To determine if the program can be conducted in other low in come areas.
Evaluation Questions
1) Are the children committed to coming to the class on a weekly basis?
2) Is the program providing the children with life skills they can apply at home?
3) Are the children enjoying the program?
Rationale
The rationale of this evaluation is to confirm that the goals of the program are being meet. That the
children are being educated in making healthy choices and participating in the program. In order for
the evaluation to be accurate research needs to determine if the program will be effective.
Component Three
Literature Review Learning how to cook is an essential life skill that not only children need but youth
as well. In an article by Jessica Herbert and her fellow authors they mentioned how by participating in
a cooking program it helps children gain a new perspective on cooking (Herbert et al.2014). Mardie

The Theme Of Dirality In The Bacchae
The classic Greek play The Bacchae by Euripides, explores the concepts of the restraint of human
convention as opposed to the liberty of nature.
From the beginning, Dionysus and Pentheus personalities clash. Pentheus refuses to acknowledge that
Dionysus is a god, which is made clear in the first passage he s dead, burnt to cinder by lighting . This
passage also shows the audience what Pentheus thinks about people who express their natural desires
openly through Bacchae worship Sir I am ashamed to see two men or your age with so little sense of
decency . By using language such as ashamed and decency he is showing his distaste for such
behavior. Pentheus sees Dionysus epicurean disposition as a threat and therefore ridicules him for it Is

He asks Pentheus if he would like to see the Bacchae rather than attack them to which Pentheus
replies that he would, even though it would cause me distress to see them drunk with wine . Even then
Pentheus continues the charade of self control and decency when the audience can clearly see that he
is long gone. It is now clear that Pentheus has these natural desires that he hypocritically condemns
the Bacchae for. Dionysus then degrades Pentheus in one of the most ghastly ways possible, he
convinces Pentheus to dress in women s clothes. By this point Pentheus mind has become so distorted
by Dionysus power that he is compliant with the idea, even parsing Dionysus for it how you think of

Dionysus who inspired me with that thought . By having Dionysus refers to himself in the third person

The Importance Of Resizing In Cameras
Is the size really that important?
The second common optimization method is resizing which basically means reducing the size of your
photos almost without altering the quality of the image. Visitors will see the exact same thing on their
screen only problem, they ll probably need a microscope to see it. If it s that bad why do we need
resizing? Today s cameras are so advanced that even a low end camera can take pictures with a very
high resolution like 4290*2800px without much effort. But a high resolution photo means bigger files
to upload, which is where resizing comes in handy many times.
But, though it s a smart technique it s not entirely convincing since no one can tell you the optimal
resolution for the Internet. On every Desktop ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

2.5.1.2. Surgical Ablation Cox Maze Procedure
James Cox, along with his colleagues, developed the Cox Maze procedure, (also known as the Maze
procedure) which is an open heart surgical procedure designed to eliminate AF. The procedure consists
of creating conduction barriers within the RA and LA, thus limiting the number of wavelets able to
propagate themselves within the atrial myocardium, thus eliminating AF.
A five year follow up study was conducted to assess whether the Cox Maze procedure was a viable
treatment option for AF patients. The sample size consisted of 75 patients who had undergone the
maze procedure for the treatment of AF. At the end of the five years, 65 patients had been followed up
for three months post procedure. The end result was that the Maze procedure was successful in
treating AF in 98% (n = 64) of the 65 patients followed up. It was also successful in treating AF
without the need for medication in 89% (n = 58), and with the need for medication in 9% (n = 6) of
the total cohort respectively. This therefore proves that the Cox maze procedure is an effective
treatment method for AF patients (Cox JL et al; 1993).

The Effects Of Conflict On The Workplace
Conflict in the workplace is something that s been going on for centuries. Although we think of
conflict as negative, it can also have a positive impact. In this paper we will look at both the negative
and positive impact of conflict in the workplace.
Conflict is opposition or antagonism toward other individuals or things (Hegar, Human Relations at
Work, pg 480). For example, if your co worker was given an award for outstanding work performance
but you feel that you were more deserving of the award. Now there is a conflict between you two.
Even if you do feel like you are more deserving, you should still try and keep that to yourself and get
your work done. Holding that type of animosity just creates more conflict. Two types of conflict that
are important in human relations are conflict at the individual level and conflict at the organizational
level. When needs of individuals are at odds conflict can develop. The reasons for this are frustration
and interpersonal conflict. Some of our biggest frustrations come from the workplace. It may be
because we feel that our work in unfulfilling, co workers that we don t get along with demanding
structures within the organization that seem to micromanage us. In most instances we feel that our
options for real fulfillment at work are limited which creates conflict inside us. Intrapersonal conflict
occurs when a person or group of people frustrates or interferes with another person s efforts at
achieving a goal (Hegar, Human Relations

Childhood Development Through Active And Participatory...
Childhood can be explained as an early stage of life in which there is the existence of development
through active and participatory socialization. The stage of childhood only began to exist post
fifteenth and sixteenth century; children used to be considered miniature adults (James, p. 16). Once
children were removed from the adulthood designation, the attitudes of parents also began to change;
they began coddling their children. Prior to the fifteenth century, children were expected to perform
hard labour. As formal education grew in popularity within society, it added an extra component to the
socialization of children. In the book Constructing and Reconstructing Childhood, (2004, p.13)
Shildkrout concludes that in the traditional approach of socialization, child culture is seen as a
rehearsal for adult life and socialization consists of the process through which, by one method or
another, children are made to conform, in cases of successful socializations or become deviants in
cases of failed socialization . This brings forth the ideology that children develop and are socialized on
a universal spectrum that has only successful or deviant outcomes. Although there are advantages of
recognizing the importance of the traditional approach on childhood socialization, it is vital to use the
childhood perspective to gain a complete understanding of the socialization of children. The childhood
perspective on socialization is an approach that is strictly understood from

Stress can lead to emotional, psychological and even physical problems including heart disease, high blood pressure, chest pains or irregular heartbeats. (Nahrendorf) While its effects vary the overall three main effects occur from stress being mental instability, eating habits, and the body physically. He started making annual trips in the summer and studied the lives of ordinary people and observed their superstitions, culture and folklore. This play was based on his experiences while he was there. On one of his trips he heard the story of a man whose body was found washed up on the shore on the Aran Islands. Synge himself spent time listening to and recording the distinctive speech patterns of the Aran Islands before writing the play. The rhythm of the play is defined by the rhythms of speech of the people living on those islands, which give the play a clear sense of place, time, and community. The characters unusual turns of phrase (for instance, The young priest is after bringing them, to mean The young priest brought them ) can sound strange to the modern reader. They would have seemed just as strange to audiences in 1904 of Dublin and London. The language of Riders to the Sea belongs specifically to the fishing communities of the Aran Islands. Synge has transformed it. Homely details add to the realism of the play. Simple words are used repeatedly, like they might be in fairy tales. When Bartley is looking for a piece of rope, Cathleen says Give it to him, Nora; it s on a nail by the white boards. I hung it up this morning, for the pig with the black feet was eating it. Ultimately, the paper states that once we designate someone as a certain race, we then have a basis to differentiate ourselves. This serves a people in power the most, as when the Irish Americans, though viewed as somewhat unruly, were still able to enter and run for public office because of naturalization laws of the late nineteenth century. Once it was established in the United States that there were competing groups out there in the labor force, namely African, Asian, Latin, and Mexican Americans, it became advantageous to draw a color line to create a large group, those of lighter skin color, to raise and continue to hold the power through numbers and mass alone. Once it becomes established that a group s tendencies are of a natural prescription, as in the Ethnic Notions film, and once the greater society adheres to the simple guidelines fed to them, the argument is then taken out of the minority group s hands. Immutable then would describe the group lacking power enough to break the stereotype. This social construction of race, one that lumps a mass of people into an ambiguous category, becomes an enigma. • 26. Positive And Negative Consequences Of Repealing The Jones Act Cost Analysis: I firmly believe, repealing the jones act would certainly make American economy prosperous. In this section I will bolster my opinion by analyzing some positive and negative consequences of repealing the act in terms of cost, economic impact, and national safety. Positive Consequences of repealing Jones act: Repealing the Jones Act could benefit the American economy, as it is cheaper to build ships outside USA and hiring foreign crew Building ships in America is certainly costly affair. It could cost five times more than the ship built outside USA due high labor rates. Thus, repealing the jones act, means American companies can lookout for cheaper options and buy vessels made in foreign countries at cheaper rates. Wages for foreign crews are substantially lower than American crews. American crews cost nearly 4.5 times more than foreign crews. These wages make up nearly 75 percent of the operating cost difference between the two. If foreign shippers were permitted to enter the U.S. market, American companies would be forced to compete, and lower both their wages and prices to more reasonable levels. Cost of living would be significantly cheaper in states like Hawaii, Alaska, Puerto Rico Currently people from states like Hawaii, Alaska, Puerto Rico have to spend a lot of money to get goods due to higher freight transportation rates imposed by the Jones act. For example, it costs about $750 to ship a 45 foot container from Los Angeles to Shanghai, but it costs $8,500 to ship the same container from Los Angeles to Honolulu. This means that it costs 11 times more money to ship something to some domestic locations than international ones. Thus, repealing jones act, the cost of living in Hawaii, Alaska, Puerto Rico would decrease greatly as residents would not have to spend as much money to get goods, from mainland America or from a foreign nation. Economic boost for American Industries Relaxing the Jones Act would lead to an economic boost for many industries across the nation, and provide more goods at lower prices for American consumers. However, many Americans re simply unaware of the impact that the extra shipping costs of the Jones Act has on their lives, and therefore efforts to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Good morning 8 romero and mr mcgowan today i will be talking about how space exploration is a waste of money. Why do we need to waste our money to find out if there is water on Mars or not? We could be spending all that money on beneficial things like finding a cure for cancer or feeding the starving millions around the globe, the needs of humanity should always be our first priority so I strongly agree that space exploration is a waste of money. Some would say that I m over exaggerating and that NASA has actually given us something beneficial like finding more planets. But tell me, is one planet that NASA found going to help find a cure for cancer? This is why I think that humanity s needs on earth should be our first priority and not some pretty pictures of our planet above. The earth s problems have not yet been fully taken care of, so why should we go roaming around other planets when we have problems down here on earth. There are many major crises going on at our own planet, two of which include global warming and the worldwide economic crisis. If the government does not take care of the economic crisis with care then we will all end up poor. From the beginning, Dionysus and Pentheus personalities clash. Pentheus refuses to acknowledge that Dionysus is a god, which is made clear in the first passage he s dead, burnt to cinder by lighting . This passage also shows the audience what Pentheus thinks about people who express their natural desires openly through Bacchae worship Sir I am ashamed to see two men or your age with so little sense of decency . It is now clear that Pentheus has these natural desires that he hypocritically condemns the Bacchae for. Dionysus then degrades Pentheus in one of the most ghastly ways possible, he convinces Pentheus to dress in women s clothes. By this point Pentheus mind has become so distorted by Dionysus power that he is compliant with the idea, even parsing Dionysus for it how you think of everything! . Dionysus replies with what can be argued is the most telling line of the play It was Dionysus who inspired me with that thought . The procedure consists of creating conduction barriers within the RA and LA, thus limiting the number of wavelets able to propagate themselves within the atrial myocardium, thus eliminating AF. A five year follow up study was conducted to assess whether the Cox Maze procedure was a viable treatment option for AF patients. The sample size consisted of 75 patients who had undergone the maze procedure for the treatment of AF. At the end of the five years, 65 patients had been followed up for three months post procedure. The end result was that the Maze procedure was successful in treating AF in 98% (n = 64) of the 65 patients followed up. It was also successful in treating AF without the need for medication in 89% (n = 58), and with the need for medication in 9% (n = 6) of the total cohort respectively. • 39. The Effects Of Conflict On The Workplace Conflict in the workplace is something that s been going on for centuries. Although we think of conflict as negative, it can also have a positive impact. In this paper we will look at both the negative and positive impact of conflict in the workplace. Conflict is opposition or antagonism toward other individuals or things (Hegar, Human Relations at Work, pg 480). For example, if your co worker was given an award for outstanding work performance but you feel that you were more deserving of the award. Now there is a conflict between you two. Even if you do feel like you are more deserving, you should still try and keep that to yourself and get your work done. Holding that type of animosity just creates more conflict. Two types of conflict that are important in human relations are conflict at the individual level and conflict at the organizational level. When needs of individuals are at odds conflict can develop. The reasons for this are frustration and interpersonal conflict. Some of our biggest frustrations come from the workplace. It may be because we feel that our work in unfulfilling, co workers that we don t get along with demanding structures within the organization that seem to micromanage us. In most instances we feel that our options for real fulfillment at work are limited which creates conflict inside us. • 40. Childhood Development Through Active And Participatory... Childhood can be explained as an early stage of life in which there is the existence of development through active and participatory socialization. The stage of childhood only began to exist post fifteenth and sixteenth century; children used to be considered miniature adults (James, p. 16). Once children were removed from the adulthood designation, the attitudes of parents also began to change; they began coddling their children. Prior to the fifteenth century, children were expected to perform hard labour. As formal education grew in popularity within society, it added an extra component to the socialization of children. In the book Constructing and Reconstructing Childhood, (2004, p.13) Shildkrout concludes that in the traditional approach of socialization, child culture is seen as a rehearsal for adult life and socialization consists of the process through which, by one method or another, children are made to conform, in cases of successful socializations or become deviants in cases of failed socialization . This brings forth the ideology that children develop and are socialized on a universal spectrum that has only successful or deviant outcomes. Although there are advantages of recognizing the importance of the traditional approach on childhood socialization, it is vital to use the childhood perspective to gain a complete understanding of the socialization of children.
