Annene Frank And The Story Of Anne Frank
Books or stories affect people in different ways, many of them being happy because everyone lives
happily ever after. Very rarely do I get affected by books, and the Story of Anne Frank is one of them.
This poor Jewish girl, has to hide away with seven other people, three of them being her actual family
members. Mrs Vandaan was one of the many people living in that annex. In some way shape or form I
connected with this character on an emotional level. She showed me that there is more to life than
buying the most expensive clothing, and how to care for people. Just as she cared for her husband and
son. When Anne dropped milk on her fur coat, it showed me that I should forgive, even if it seems like
it could never be forgiven. Even if it was a coat from my father. Anne s life became the opposite of a
normal kids life, when she had to go into hiding. This I find cruel and unfair, she should be able to go
play outside and hang out with friends. Yet she can t, and it s all because of a religion. When she s in
this annex she is getting skinnier and skinnier by the day because they have so many people, and not a
surplus of food. This cruel, for this girl and her family to have to go through this. It makes me even
more upset because of my german heritage. World War 2 was caused because of Hitler and his desire
to make the perfect race. This meant getting rid of the Jews, why this group of people I don t know,
but it s still unfair. He thought that if you had blue eyes and

The Power Of Female Power In Beyonc s Song Pretty Hurts
Beyoncé is a singer known for her fantastic voice, rejuvenating dance moves, and most importantly
her empowering throughout her songs. These skills are no different in her song Pretty Hurts. Released
on June 10, 2014, from her self titled album Beyoncé, the song written by Sia, Joshua Ammo
Coleman, and Beyoncé herself resonates its empowering message with people of all different genders,
body types, and races. This song, in particular, is targeted towards women, especially young women
who are still developing. Beyoncé gained popularity when she started off in an all female group
named Destiny s Child back in 1997, and once she broke off from the group, she only continued to
grow as an artist and person. In all six of Beyoncé s solo studio albums, there are songs with
galvanizing messages of female power and all of them reached number 1 on the charts. In Beyoncé s
song Pretty Hurts, she uses social issues, rhetorical appeals such as pathos, literary devices,
metaphors, and vivid imagery to further the theme of female empowerment.
Pretty Hurts is the opening track on her self titled album, and I believe that this makes a statement
towards the contemporary feminists issues of today. There are many different social problems that the
song tackles. Beyoncé is known as a feminist, and on each of her albums some songs are about female
empowerment such as, Single Ladies, Irreplaceable, and Run the World (Girls). The theme of Pretty
Hurts can be interpreted to be

A Brief Note On Helicobacter Pylori
HELICOBACTER PYLORI
Helicobacter pylori have been implicated in cases of chronic gastritis, peptic ulcer diseases( includes
duodenal and gastric ulcers). Even though these diseases were linked to stress factors, in 1983,
Australian microbiologists Warren and Marshall proved that gastritis and peptic ulcer diseases were
infectious diseases caused by a bacterium (1). This bacterium has also been linked to gastric
carcinoma and Mucosa associated lymphocyte (MALT) lymphoma (2)
This organism was formerly classified under the genus Campylobacter because scientists found a
campylobacter like bacterium in the gastric mucus of patients with chronic gastritis. It was thus
formerly called Campylobacter pylori, however, further study of the organism at genetic level by
analyzing a sequence of the 16s rRNA gene necessitated the formation of a new genus, hence the
name Helicobacter pylori (3).
Helicobacter pylori is a Gram negative spiral shaped microaerophilic rod (4). The term
microaerophilic means that the organism requires small amounts of oxygen to survive. It is also a
rapidly motile organism due to the multiple polar flagella (4). The bacterium is approximately 3µm
long and 0.5µm in diameter. The organism has 4 7 polar sheathed flagella which helps it to move in
the gastric mucus in the stomach (3). It is also a fastidious organism. This means that it requires
special nutrients to grow. The common media for isolation include Skirrow s medium with
vancomycin, polymixin B,

Ventilator Associated Pneumonia Compounds The Risks Of...
Ventilator associated pneumonia compounds the risks that critically ill patients face in hospitalization.
It affects a high proportion of patients on ventilators and has a fluctuating morbidity rate. The goal of
this paper is to demonstrate the potential usefulness of chlorhexidine in preventing ventilator
associated pneumonia in adults. The paper features a review of literature found via MedScape using
the keywords chlorhexidine, ventilator associated pneumonia, long term ventilation and prevention.
The results show that there is a positive correlation between using chlorhexidine in the oral care of
patients using a ventilator; however, the evidence thus far does not present an opportunity to promote
any clinical recommendations. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This literature review will look to see whether critical care patients (P) can benefit from chlorhexidine
treatment (I) as compared to tradition oral care (C) to prevent ventilator associated pneumonia (O)
during the patients stay in the hospital (T). The literature demonstrates a potential link between
chlorhexidine treatment, oral health care and a potential reduction in the number of cases and
ventilator associated pneumonia, ultimately recommending further studies.
Literature Search The literature found in this study was found by searching for relevant papers on
MedScape. The keywords chlorhexidine, ventilator associated pneumonia, long term ventilation and
prevention.
Literature Review
In a trial by Arti et al, researchers used chlorhexidine to attempt to prevent ventilator associated
pneumonia in children (2013). The group included 86 patients who were divided into two groups to
complete a double blind, randomized placebo controlled trial. The first group included 41 children
who received 1% chlorhexidine gel every eight hours. The second group included 45 children who
received a placebo gel. The length of the study was three weeks, or until the patient was extubated.
The results demonstrated that 12 of out of the 41 children who received chlorhexidine and 14 out of
the 45 placebo patients developed ventilator associated pneumonia. The results showed that there was
no clear reduction in the occurrence of pneumonia

Reflection Paper On Beautiful Mind
Beautiful mind was about a man John Nash who developed Schizophrenia over the life span of his
adult life. The movie started out about the time John Nash went to college. Nash was a mathematical
genius going to school at Princeton University. Nash struggled to contribute to serve as his legacy to
the world of mathematics. During John Nash college experience, he starts to show signs of obsession
about his project he is working on. Nash was awkward when it came to time to socialize with his
group of friend and women. Nash was very blunt and turned everything into a mathematical equation.
While at Princeton after being told his plan for his mathematical equation just was not going to get
him a spot. Nash went back to his dorm running his head into the glass. This is when Charles Nash s
roommate intervenes and tries to calm Nash down. Nash then again became obsessive over his project
but it ended up working to his advantage and ended up making a mathematical breakthrough in
history. Nash ended up graduation Princeton. He gets a job at Massachusetts Institute of Technology
(MIT) as a teacher and research position. During His time as a teacher and researcher he has went to
the Pentagon and helped the military crack a code. This is where he met big brother. Big Brother
offered Nash a job to break codes to help find the placement of the lost bomb that the Russians are

The Bus Stop Killer By Geoffrey Wansell
Below is a review of The Bus Stop killer published by Penguin Books in 2011, written by Geoffrey
Wansell. It recalls the eventful murders of Milly Dowler, Amélie Delagrange and Marsha McDonnell
and the full life story of the serial killer Levi Bellfield. This book outlines the massive, tedious nine
year investigation by police and prosecutors into Levi Bellfield, his eventual arrest and trial. It tells of
Bellfield s controlling, terrifying personality a man who went from charming to monstrous in a blink
of an eye and his depraved stalking of young women. Levi Bellfield is the only man in modern British
legal history to be given two separate whole life sentences. Geoffrey Wansell is a London based author
and free lance journalist of eight books including the official biography of Frederick West through
exclusive access to tape recordings. He also published biographies, including the playwright Sir
Terrence Ratigan, a book which was short listed for the Whitbread Prize as the book of the year.
Geoffrey Wansell has been a full time writer for nearly 50 years.
Ever since the genre of true crime began to rise in popularity in the United Kingdom, it was found that
people find stories that include gorier details and more horrible acts of crime interesting as this seems
to fascinate and excite the readers. This also meant that more true crime books of this kind were
written to appeal to the audience. The genre become less of a way of informing the public of actual

Writing A Young Adult Speculative Fiction
How to write a young adult speculative fiction short story
Intro
There are many different facets to writing a successful young adult speculative short story. There are
lots of different problems that can be faced when trying to write these stories such as not
understanding the genre completely, not being able to write interesting characterisation, figuring out
how to properly structure the story, putting just the right amount of detail into the setting, working out
an exciting plot line, getting the proper editing and drafting done, and finding inspiration to begin
writing and figure out where the story will go from there.
The world of speculative fiction
Speculative fiction is a broad term that encompasses science fiction and fantasy. Science fiction tells
stories relating to science and technology and has a basis in the principles of science. These stories are
often set in space, the future, in a different world, or in a different dimension of universe. Fantasy,
however, is not necessarily based on science but more on imagination and often includes fantasy
worlds and elements of the supernatural. Different people have varying ideas about the parameters of
genres and how many there are. For example some sub genres of science fiction/ fantasy are
apocalyptic, post apocalyptic, cyberpunk, first contact, humorous and time travel. Science fiction and
Fantasy both ask the question, What if? An example of a speculative fiction is The Hunger Games
trilogy.

Michael Lewis The Big Short
Book selection #3 (from the JBHS Summer Reading List): The Big Short
(1) There are countless themes, characters, and plots of The Big Short that I could discuss but the
personalities described by Michael Lewis were, to me, the most interesting part of the book. Michael
Burry, a Hedge Fund Manager from California, was the first person to short the Housing Market. He is
awkward, with Aspergers and a glass eye, but as it turns out, a brilliant money manager. Greg
Lippmann, a Deustche Bank trader found out about Burry s deals and was quick to short the market as
well. Steve Eisman and his team found out about the short accidentally by a call to a wrong number.
They were money managers at FrontPoint Partners when Greg Lippmann called to try to ... Show

However, the subject matter of the novel can be very confusing at times to those who aren t familiar
with financial markets. One of the most confusing moments of the story was the ending. It took me a
few minutes to understand the meaning of it because, this part of the book shines a new light on the
meaning of the story. While reading the book, I thought Michael Lewis was telling the story to give
people a new idea of wall street and the big banks but while reading the last few paragraphs I found a
different meaning to the story. The ending, although a short few sentences, is pivotal moment of the
book. It reads... But the biggest lag of all was right here, on the streets. How long would it take before
the people walking back and forth in front of St. Patrick s Cathedral figured out what had just
happened to them? After reading those sentences several times, I discovered the meaning. Although
not explained in the book, after the housing market collapsed and a few of the big banks went out of
business (Lehman Brothers and Bear Stearns), people marched across manhattan protesting in an
event called Occupy Wall Street. The protests, however, didn t clearly define what they were asking
for, they simply were mad. This is what Lewis is explaining; the people that are protesting, have not
figured out the entire meaning of this huge financial crisis. Michael Lewis is saying that if we do not
realize the mistakes we made as an entire nation to get us into this recession, then we will never have
the strength to rebound from

Celebrity Culture And Influence On Drug Use
Celebrity Culture and Influence on Drug Use
Over time the transformation of celebrity culture and branding has become a way that society interacts
and identify with. As defined by the
OxfordDictionary.com, celebrity is a famous person and the state of being well known. Celebrities and
their lifestyle is a world that is constantly shown in magazines, television, and social media. The state
of being well known attracts endorsers that then brand celebrities with an image to sell a certain along
with their merchandise. For years, we have seen the constant up rise and downfall of celebrities
generally due to drug substance abuse. Through the exploration of celebrities symbolic power,
symbolic capital, 4 levels of promotion, and real life examples I will demonstrate the impact (if any)
celebrities have had on themselves and young teens/adults drug use. Real life examples will include
late UK singer
Amy Winehouse, Argentinian hero Diego Maradona,. By doing this I will give an elaborate analysis
on the various ways celebrity culture and drug usage go hand and hand to promote casual drug use as
a normalized life style. Aside from doing so, I will also list negative and positive outcomes that arise
from celebrity drug usage, addiction, and sadly sometimes death.
First, will be the definitions I will use to illustrate symbolic power, symbolic capital and 4 levels of
promotion. Symbolic power is how much influence

The Epic Of Gilgamesh And Gilgamesh
In the Epic of Gilgamesh there are many notable relationships but the relationship between Gilgamesh
and Enkidu is hands down the most noteworthy. When analyzing the relationship of Gilgamesh and
Enkidu there are many factors that go into play. It is really the sole foundation of the whole Sumerian
epic and it really changes the whole personality of Gilgamesh. In order to get a better understanding of
how the two characters complement each other we have to first break down their individual
appearances and characteristics. After that is made clear then it is more appropriate to begin to analyze
their relationship which in time turns out to be a relationship for the ages. Gilgamesh like many other
mythological heroes was fortunate enough to be made up of two parts, part man and part god. Of all of
the men in his land he was the greatest and before he met Enkidu he used that to his advantage in both
positive and negative ways. He was the most ferocious warrior and the most creative architect they
had ever seen. Before the arrival of his better half, Gilgamesh used to force hard labor upon his
people, rape his women, and selfishly indulge his appetite. With that being said you can pretty see
with a clear eye view that before Enkidu s arrival, Gilgamesh was not that easy to like. Enkidu on the
other hand is described as being a hairy chested and brawny man. He was made from clay by Aruru,
who is the goddess of creation. He was indeed created to take away all of the arrogance

Role of Mutated Gene in the Evolution of Large Brained,...
Role of Mutated Gene in the Evolution of Large Brained, Small Jawed Humans
The debate with in the anthropology field has been heated over the evolution of the human and the
events that have lead us to where we are now. One of the major questions that is debated is how did
we, humans large brained and small jawed, evolve from primates large jawed and small brained.
Interestingly enough, this debate is now being directed from outside the field; by biologists and plastic
surgeons. On march 25, 2004, Doctors Stedman (and others) published their findings in Nature (VOL
428) under the title Myosin gene mutation correlates with anatomical changes in the human lineage.
Their findings point to the gene myosin and its mutated form MYH16 and ... Show more content on

The mutations though are not found in other primates, even in chimpanzees the closes relative to
humans alive (Associated Press). So at some point Humans evolutionary track shifted, incorporating
this mutated gene.
The question that next needs to be asked is why is this important, what does the gene mutation
actually do? What is being suggested is that when the gene mutated, there was less muscles pulling
and attached on the cranial bone of our ancestors. And because muscles can stunt bone growth and
will sculpt the bones that it is attached to. It can have a crucial role in bone growth, in this case skull
growth. When the head structures of the macaque (as well as other primates) were compared to
humans, it was seen that the crests on the heads differed as well. The large crests on the macaque
exemplify the how jaw muscles attach to the head and leave little room for the brain, and this crest is
close to non existent in human heads for smaller, less powerful jaws. By having smaller muscles there
are smaller anchors attached to the head and the skull is free to grow into a round shape. It is thus
suspected that powerful jaws are incompatible with large powerful brains (Hopkin).
The more interesting point about the mutated gene, to help further idea that the big brain and powerful
jaw are dissonant, is when the mutation toke place. As the

2/15/12 DBQ: World War II The Road to War
During the early 1920 s many people thought that peace had finally been reached. However, in the late
1920 s and throughout the 1930 s, they realized that they were wrong. Dictators came into power in
countries that were displeased with the results of World War I. Germany, Italy and Japan wanted
power, so they took aggressive action that not even The League of Nations could stop. British Prime
Minister Chamberlain thought that the best way to deal with Hitler was by following a policy of
appeasement, but not everybody agreed with him. That is why the causes of World War II vary

Sudetenland from Czechoslovakia (Document 4). Even though the Europeans were happy not to have
to go to war, Shirer felt that this was only a temporary solution, and that War would be avoided for
only a short time (Document 4). When World War I ended, Germany had signed a treaty known as the
Treaty of Versailles which provided large fines that Germany had to pay and certain restrictions that
Germany had to follow. Hitler defied the terms of the Treaty by sending his troops into the Rhineland,

I completed my service learning at The Arbors of Bedford, a nursing home for older adults suffering
with memory loss due to dementia. Their mission is to care for the whole person in a manner that
promotes freedom, choice and the opportunity to live a meaningful life (n.a., 2017). The Arbors of
Bedford promotes a therapeutic environment by creating an open and welcome environment and by
giving the residents as much choice in their lives as possible. For example, they can choose whether to
sit by the window in a seat by themselves, or in a living room chair with a group of people. There is
usually a television or music playing in one section, while another section is quiet which allows the
residents to choose the setting that is best for them. They host a variety of activities that focus on
different therapy areas. The activities offered include listening to spiritual hymns, tai chi, craft
designs, piano performances, and invention trivia. These components together, along with a caring and

In traditional angelology of Christianity, seraphim are heavenly beings of light and purity, which is a
term used to portray the divine entities in Tales of Zestiria. Shintoism believe in divine spiritual beings
called kami (gods in their term). They pray on the kami and perform rituals, but they also believe the
kami are within nature as well. If they have tremendous amount of faith to the kami, they believe the
kami will grant them divine abilities to continue the prosperity between nature and humanity. There
practices maintain nature in balance and pray on the kami so they can be granted power to keep

Cliff Burton Pros And Cons
Las Angeles, 1982. A strange time for the music scene. Popular music is stuck in limbo between pop
and rock. This story starts when a young James Hetfield puts an ad in the local newspaper looking to
start a band. He gets his answer when Lars Ulrich responds to the call. Together, they form Metallica,
and they are out for the blood of hair metal. After finding a lead guitar player, Metallica needs a
bassist. After some trial and error, the end up with Cliff Burton. That moment would have effects over
30 years later, on a beginning bassist living in Wyoming. Three things could be learned from Cliff s
legacy, serving the song, playing outside the box, and being yourself. Cliff s first great aspect to learn
from, was serving the song. Cliff Burton s bass playing was revolutionary at the time. He preferred to
ignore the so called standard way to play bass. His playing was wild, loud, and labeled as lead bass.
But despite his ferocious playing, Cliff always played to serve the song. If the song didn t have space
for overdriven bass, then there was none. But if permitted by the song structure and vibe, then Cliff
would let loose. This was important for me to learn, because it taught me to always put the song first.

Ampicillin Resistance Lab Report
Discussion
As predicted the E. coli colony transformed with either the PUC18 or the lux plasmid developed an
ampicillin resistance. Which made it easier for them to not only survive but also replicate in both the
LB agar plates and the LB ampicillin rich agar plate. However the E. coli colony not treated with the
plasmids could not survive and colonize in the LB ampicillin rich agar plates. The plate that had no
ampicillin in its environment and no plasmid treated E. coli served as a positive control for this
experiment because it demonstrated how the E. coli would colonize and grow in a normal setting. The
cells in the positive control plate grew into lawn colonies because they were not placed into a selective
environment or transformed, so they had no need to acquire ampicillin resistance. Two plates in the
experiment contained E. coli cells that were transformed with either the PUC18 or the lux plasmid but
were placed in an ampicillin free environment. These two colonies grew ... Show more content on

Forging behaviors can be described as a behavior where animals have their heads down in search of
food and not too aware of what is happening in their immediate environment, where as a vigilant
behavior is where an animal is on its hind legs with its heads up or sometimes in a frozen position and
cannot forage (H.R. Pulliam, G.H. Pyke, T. Caraco, 1982). Because squirrels are small mammals they
do tend to be more vigilant of their surroundings. Foraging and vigilant behaviors are important
because of the fact that these animals are smaller and are likely to be attacked by predators. When they
are in a foraging behavior it can be difficult to be aware of other mammals that are lurking around,
thus they also involve themselves in vigilant behaviors to determine if there is a threat or not. Smaller
mammals tend to display higher vigilance than those of larger sizes due to their increased risk of
predation (StevenL.Lima, Thomas J. Valone, Thomas Caraco,

Andrew Gore Rhetorical Analysis Essay
Al Gore asked three questions, his first question was do we really have to change? His second was,
can we change? And his third was, will we change? Throughout his argument Gore answers these
questions for his audience. Gore s argumentative presentation on climate change and his opinion as to
what could be done about it gave his audience and listeners insight to the problem with climate
change. He is very personable throughout his presentation, utilizing his tools to give his audience
something to be interested in. Gore s thoughts on Climate change were brilliantly displayed through
his tone, his emotional appeal, and his logical appeal.
Al Gore captures his audience s attention using informal tone. He simplified his information to speak
to many different audiences allowing them the ability to understand what he is trying to get across.
His tone also had some affect on his emotional appeal through his informal tone, helping the audience

the super typhoon named Haiyan, he said that it was recorded as the most destructive storm ever, and

second and third question forced the audience to think about certain things that they could do to
change how the earth is affected by global warming. He also showed the audience through that
question that he believed the human race could change and would be able to turn climate change
around for the better, giving people hope and a drive to change. He uses a sarcastic humour when

Essay On Oklahoma City Bombing
Boom. That is the sound of hearts falling and shattering with the walls of the Alfred P. Murrah federal
building on April 19, 1995. No one anticipated the chaos that would break loose that morning. At the
time, those who witnessed the tragic event were not aware of the cause. The only thing they knew was
that blood had been spilled, and stained the innocence of mankind. Twenty one years later, the
memory of this disastrous event still burns and aches in the hearts of Oklahomans as well as the
family and friends of the victims. Though cognitive and physical effects of the Oklahoma City
bombing are permanent, humanity s desire to do good and progress greatly overshadows it.

Although like everything in life, people need certain boundaries. When being questioned about the
bombing, Timothy McVeigh would admit that the cause was hatred towards the American
government. He was one of many that that was enraged with the events in Waco, Texas and Ruby
Ridge. The early 1990 s were described to be a time of dramatic upheaval (Clinton). People were
upset, and the easiest thing to do for some was to gather and oppose their own government. But the
sense that Waco and Ruby Ridge were somehow not the fault of those who were advocating violence
and armed to the teeth and prepared to exercise it, but the government that was attempting to enforce
the law. And so it became symbolic (Clinton). They were so busy pointing fingers; they forgot the
beauty of brotherhood and violated their freedoms. Freedom of speech is not bombing a federal
building just because you disagree with their methods. The boundaries set in place by the government
attempt to limit those who corrupt freedom. In events such as the Oklahoma City bombing, blameless
American people faced the fallout of McVeigh s destruction. What was supposed to be an ordinary day

Reflection Paper For Teachers
During the month of November, I became our school s acting testing coordinator. Our testing
coordinator was in an accident and went out on medical leave. She was suddenly out for an
undetermined amount of time and with a severe concussion was unable to remember what she
completed and what she did not. During her absence, there were two assessments and a survey that
needed to me completed. These assessments included SAT 10, FFT (Teacher Survey) and MAP R.
This was a very demanding experience. The first thing that needed to be completed was the FFT
Teacher Survey. This is important to all teachers on cycle using the Framework for Teaching. The
Survey is a vital component to a teachers overall effectiveness. If left incomplete, the teacher receives
a score of zero for that portion. When I became the acting testing coordinator, only two weeks were
left in the window and no surveys were completed. Within two weeks, I needed to complete 167
surveys for 7 teachers. Unfortunately, the teachers could not assist in this endeavor. I tried to create a
schedule were I was able to conduct all 167 surveys. This was impossible if I was still going to meet
with my intervention students. Therefore, I rounded up a team of individuals that had opportunity and
the willingness to assist. This team consisted of the ESOL teacher and the Guidance Counselor. The
team and I then created a plan that incorporated the surveys into the Guidance Counselor s schedule.

An Experiment for Staying Healthy with the Food We Eat
Introduction The issue of health, and proper eating habits has been a growing trend in recent years,
with the introduction of many chemicals and additives in the foods people eat. It is important to know
what nutrients and vitamins are being put inside the body. As of December 12, 2007 it is mandatory
for all prepackaged foods in Canada to be labeled with the Nutrition Facts, a summary of what is in
the food. This includes the Calorie count, the 13 core nutrients with the % Daily value of those
nutrients and, the full ingredients list. Similarly, this lab seeks to identify the major macromolecules
present in an unknown solution, the same process that food scientist go through in the lab, when
making the Nutrition Facts summary. The four main molecules that we will be testing for are
monosaccharides, starches, proteins and lipids. It is because the purpose of the lab is to test for
multiple macromolecules that the inquiry and testing process will be split into four independent tests
for the presence of each respective molecule. Testing for monosaccharides with Benedicts reagent will

European Imperialism In The Caribbean
The effects of European colonization can still be seen today. It can be seen physically in the
landscapes of the islands of the Caribbean, and mentally it is still present in some of the inhabitant s
minds. Political struggles should not be ignored as well as many islands have struggled since their
independence. Today when many Europeans look back at the peak of their country s empires they see
the Caribbean as a contributing factor. While there is no question as to the wealth generated by the
control of the Caribbean islands, one can ask how great these European colonizers were. There are
many ways to measure accomplishment, if one measures it just by wealth then European colonization
could be considered a success. However, if we were to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Rediker is showing is not only the European empires desire for more wealth, but also the ruling
classes ability to control the working class to gain more wealth. Furthermore, he shows that as soon as
the ruling class finds a more profitable way to make money, their attitudes would change regardless of
the concerns of the working class. He also points out that the sailors knew that these wars were fought,
for the most part, over wealth, a substantial portion of which was based on the key commodities of the
Atlantic trades in which he worked gold, silver, fish, furs, servants and slaves, sugar, tobacco, and
manufactures (Rediker 21). Once privateering was outlawed, and combined with the downsizing of
European navies, many sailors found themselves out of work. This led to the rise of piracy, and in my
opinion directly challenged the notion that European empires were strong and powerful. Piracy could
be viewed a war on the rich, where men who saw no other economic opportunity choose to steal from
whom they used to work for. During the golden age of piracy between 1716 and 1726, according to
Rediker around 2400 ships were captured. European countries could do little as their navies were

Situational Leadership Theory And Organizational Leadership
Situational Leadership Theory and Organizational Leadership
Why are some employees happier and more satisfied with their work environment than others? Why
are some teams within the same organization more productive than others? How can you get
subordinates to trust your decisions, readily cooperate with others and follow your lead? The answer
to these questions boils down to one thing; effective leadership. For our purpose, effective leadership
can be defined as the art of influencing individuals and groups to accomplish the goals and objectives
of the organization (Plunkett, Allan, and Attner, 2013). Effective leadership has a direct impact on the
motivation, or lack thereof, of employees and how they interact with others within the organization.
Followers will also act in ways that reflect their leaders example, whether it is positive or negative. It
is obvious that the leadership culture within our organization is ineffective and employee productivity
and morale has slipped to unacceptable levels. Because of our current situation, the following
information is presented to you, as managers and supervisors, as a guide to help you become a more
effective leader. There are many theories on how best to lead and motivate employees, however, for
our purposes, we will concentrate our study and efforts on the situational leadership theories.

The purpose of this paper is to identify the uses and application of mission command within Operation
Anaconda. Operation Anaconda took place in the Shahikot Valley of eastern Afghanistan in early
March of 2002. The ground commander selected to lead the operation was Major General (MG)
Hagenbeck of the 10th Mountain Division, and for the purpose of this operation, Coalition and Joint
Task Force (CJTF) Mountain. Due to the limited number of troops under his command currently
available in Afghanistan, MG Hagenbeck was given command in addition to one of his own organic
battalions, the 3rd Brigade, 101st Air Assault Division, some Special Operations Force (SOF) units,
and Coalition Forces. This paper will identify MG Hagenbeck s, his staff s, and higher command s use
of the mission command principles during this operation. The principles of mission command are
accept prudent risk, use mission orders, exercise disciplined initiative, provide a clear commander s
intent, create shared understanding, and lastly, build cohesive teams through mutual trust (Mission
Command, 2014).
MG Hagenbeck was presented a problem during the early planning development process. He

division, half of his division headquarters as well as one of his brigades was deployed in Kosovo, as
well as two maneuver battalions assuming Task Force (TF) roles in Bosnia and Sinai, and neither of

When you are ready to make your financial investments, you will need to study your finances to figure
out how much to invest which can be done by using a simplified Income Statement.
Your income statement will list all of your incomes, debts, and taxes so that you can properly assess
how much money you have for future investments (Brigham, 2007). It is critical to account for all of
your debts to get a legitimate view of your finances. For instance, do not forget to account for food,
gas, cell phone bill, entertainment, and other non fixed monthly bills. In order to create an investment
plan that you will stick to, you must include reasonable living expenses. If you do not include items
such as entertainment, then long term acceptance of your investment plan will be dubious at best.
Once you have a reasonable income statement created, you will need to figure out your Debt to
Income ratio. This is very easy to create with the information you have included in your income
statement: add your monthly income and payments and then divide your monthly income by your
monthly payments, if your ratio is above fifty percent, than you should work towards lowering your
debt with a goal of less than 25 percent (Brigham, 2007). The lower your debt ratio, the higher your
credit score will be which will allow you to be approved for loans with better interest rates. Knowing
the true interest rate on a loan is

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Wavelets
Wavelets, based on time scale representations, provide an alternative to time frequency representation
based signal processing. Wavelets are then represented by dilation equations, as opposed to difference
or differential equations. Wavelets maintain orthogonality with respect to their dilations and
translations. Orthogonality of wavelets with respect to dilations leads to multigrid representation.
Wavelets decompose the signal at one level of approximation into approximation and detail signals at
the next level. Thus subsequent levels can add more detail to the information content. The perfect
reconstruction property of the analysis and synthesis wavelets and the absence of perceptual

Music And Music Therapy ( N.a.m.t ) Essay
Musical Therapy Music, even in situations of the greatest of horror, should never be painful to the ear
but should flatter and charm it, and thereby always remain music. (Mozart). Music is pervasive in
everyday life. It is used as a means of communication. It allows us to better oneself, and continues to
be an outlet for creativity that is ever changing in this era. The use of music in a therapy session dates
back to ancient times and has even been discovered in ancient biblical scriptures. The National
Association for Music Therapy (N.A.M.T) was established on June 2, 1950 in New York and has been
the basis for Musical Therapy since and continues to allow the growth and progression of therapy
(History of Music Therapy). From the article; How Does Music Therapy Work; At its core, music
therapy is the interaction between a therapist, a client (or clients) and the use of music. A music
therapist assesses the client(s) and creates a clinical plan for treatment in conjunction with team and
client goals, which in turn determines the course of clinical sessions. A music therapist works within a
client centered, goal directed framework (How Does Music Therapy Work?). While music in general
is a great thing, there is an unlimited range for possibilities for use in therapeutic practice. Musical
therapy is critical because of the mental, physical and social benefits it provides.
To begin, let s look at some of the mental benefits that music therapy provides. From Dr.

A Study On Prevention And Treatment Of A Platelet...
Diagnosing prothrombotic diseases early and preventing its complications are significantly essential.
Therefore, this study sought to investigate whether MPV contain diagnostic value that can prompt it to
be utilized as a platelet activation marker and as marker of evidence of thrombotic risk. Platelet
activation is widely acknowledged to be an indicator of likely prothrombotic diseases. Platelet size,
measured as MPV, has been shown to be an indicator of platelet function and is positively linked to
platelet activity indicators (Tsiara et al., 2003). The correlation between platelet size and function can
be attributed to the larger platelets that activated megakaryocyte produce in the bone marrow likely to
be more reactive and easier to aggregate than the normal platelets. Such is because the larger platelets
secret more β thromboglobulin and serotonin, have denser granules, generate more thromboxane in
comparison to the smaller platelets while also showing more activity than the smaller platelets
(Dastjerdi et al., 2006). Therefore, the hyperactive large platelets contribute considerably in speeding
the formation and spread of intracoronary thrombus. This causes acute thrombotic events to occur
(Smith et al., 1999). Increased MPV levels are exhibited to constitute an independent predictor for
recurrent MI, ischemic vascular events or even death caused by coronary artery disease (Wang et al.,
2011; Chu et al., 2010; Huczek et al., 2005). Dogan et al. (2012) linked MPV

Respect for religion and government is an important part of any country, but what happens to a

when Othello was written by William Shakespeare. Comparing the religious themes and heroes of
Othello to the story of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight which was written during the Middle English
era, will demonstrate just how far England had come. Both heroes are clearly religious, but Gawain
maintains his faith until the end, while Othello falls into the snare of temptation. The spiritual hero of

only Christ, but Mary and Saint Julian as well. He almost comes off as self righteous with his request
from Mary for a place to stay so he could hear mass. He doesn t ask for a place to stay so he does not

for good luck. It says he prays, with all his might. He really believes that his prayers will make a
difference. He is not the only one because immediately his prayer is answered. This description
demonstrates a religious or spiritual hero who depends on his spirituality to get him through tough
times. This is further supported by the narrative because it appears in this story that Gawain s prayer
pays off.
Religion is addressed extensively in the story of Othello as well. Even though Othello comes from

thousands of POW s as they labored in the Thai Burma jungle during World War II is something that

What was to be done with them? In the eyes of the Japanese, they were a disgrace to mankind. A
Japanese man would rather die than be humiliated with the charge of giving up. They were taught to
never surrender and fight until death for their Emperor (Lee, 1998).
This concept baffled the Japanese. The idea of prisoners had not occurred to them. These men were
dishonorable, and the thought of feeding and taking care of the dishonorable repulsed the Japanese
(Pitt Mason, 1993). For a while, the issue was not dealt with, and the POW s were left alone.
Unfortunately, that was not to be their permanent state of being. Soon, an inspiration gave light to the
issue. The Japanese discovered they held in their hands a free work force. In these dishonorable men,
lay the path to accomplishing the new goals being set for a nation at war (La Forte Marcello, 1993).
The Death Railway was one of these new goals . Its intent was to join two pre existing railroads; one,
running from Singapore to Ban Pong and Bangkok, the other from Ye on the Andaman coast to
Rangoon. The plan was to unite these two railroads by building a line from Ban Pong to
Thanbyuzayat, a small village 50 miles north of Ye (La Forte Marcello, 1993).

Lily Dialectical Journal
The fog was like tracing paper over her eyes. From what she could see above, the blue sky was turning
navy. Lily was standing at a bus stop wishing she was wearing gloves and a hat. She pulled her coat
ever tighter around herself. Her lips were numb, her jaw fighting to chatter. The bus was late and she
was meant to be meeting her friend Daisy on it. Daisy, when approached with the idea of travelling via
public transport to the unpronounceable French café she desperately wanted to go to, seemed
disgusted at the very notion. Lily reminded her that not everyone could rely on their Daddy buying
them a new car as soon as they turned seventeen and that it certainly wasn t her fault if it was made
unavailable due to an MOT. Daisy blushed prettily. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It was hard to believe that she was only eighteen and no one found it harder to believe than Daisy. I
was starting to think I had got on the wrong bus! What a nightmare! If I ever step foot in such a
vehicle again it will be too soon. Lily sat down next to her best friend and felt the usual sensation of
jealousy towards Daisy s natural panache and the unmistakable underdressed feeling she got whenever
next to her despite being on a bus. The feelings would fade though. They always did. Daisy then
leaned in close and spoke in a hushed voice; Did you know it is the ungodly temperature of minus five
degrees outside? Lily laughed. The bus started again and they left the bus stop

The Pros And Cons Of Islamic Banking And Bank Negara Malaysia
1.0 Introduction
Islamic banking refers to a system of banking that complies with Islamic law, also known as Shariah
law. The underlying principles that govern Islamic banking are mutual risk and profit sharing between
the provider of capital (investor) and the user of funds (entrepreneur). In other words, it ensures an
equal contribution for all parties involved, whether in profitability or in case of any loss occurred.
Activities that involve interest (riba), gambling (maisir) and speculative trading (gharar) are prohibited
(Bank Negara Malaysia, 2010). Islamic banking is interest free banking; making it compulsory to take
active part in business profit and loss sharing. Islamic banks prefer to take less risk (Shaikh Jalbani,
2009)

Most banks have created a separate entity or subsidiary to earn profit from the growing Islamic
banking sector. (Parker, 2011) (Ernst and Young (E Y), 2014) in their latest World Islamic Banking
Competitiveness report (2014), shows the assets of Islamic banks grew at an average rate of 17% per
year between 2008 and 2012. This is two to three times faster than the rate at which conventional
banks grew over the same period. Bank Muamalat provides a full range of Islamic financial services
through its 59 branches nationwide. It has a market share of 4.2% and 5.0% of the domestic Islamic
banking sector s gross financing and total deposits segments respectively as at end March 2014. The
bank s annual financing growth of between 8% and 15% was mostly lower than the Islamic banking
industry s growth of above 20% per year in the last five years. (The Star Business News,

Egypt is a republic in northeastern area of Africa; it was known as the United Arab Republic until
1971. Egypt is an ancient civilization that grew from 2600 to 30 BC. Egypt s economic range includes
involvement with mainly tourism, construction and manufacturing. Currently, Egypt s economy is not
doing well. Because of the revolution in 2011, the Egyptian economy has gone from bad to worse. The
country s unemployment is still increasing which is causing the budget deficit. Job creation is virtually
impossible, and the Egyptian pound has lost majority of its value. To make problems worse, the
general lack of security in the country has increased. All of these issues have a negative effect on the
country. For example, the soaring ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Moreover, the unemployment also increases because of the revolution due to many employees going
on strike and not working. From February 11, 2011 to February 11, 2013, the unemployment rate has
increase by 1.4% (Central Bank of Egypt.) At this rate the country s unemployment will just keep
decreasing if something is not done. Currently, Egypt s economic has been taking a number of harmful
tolls from many different factors. For example, underground dollar trade and political instability has
been reported to effect Egypt s economic in a negative way. The underground dollar trade causes a
negative effect because According to Middle East Online website, money is sought on Cairo s black
market and currency traders at banks say they haven t been able to meet their clients demand through
official channels. This makes it difficult for people to get the proper loan they may need to get a home
or car. The black markets are worsening the economy. This has been a problem in the past when Egypt
was struck with a thriving black market during economic insecurity in 2003. Black markets are
affecting the banks of Egypt. Banks are forced to trade dollars in fixed ranges around the central bank
s sale cut off prices for interbank, commercial and retail transactions, giving rights sizable
encouragement over authorized exchange charges. Although Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak

The Power Of Women In Kate Chopin s A Respectable Woman
The Power of Women
Before women started fighting for their rights in the mid nineteenth century, women were powerless
and unequal to men. Women have fought to have the rights that they have today, before the nineteenth
century women had no rights. However, this changed when women decided to unify and fight for their
rights. They were deprived of many things; for example, the right to suffrage, gender pay gap, and
access to higher education but these are not all the battles that women wanted to fight. Women debated
that all these rights were necessary in order to achieve equality to men. Through the powerful words of
Sojourner Truth s speech Ain t I a Woman , we can see that women were not treated as equals to men.
Also in Chopin s A ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Susan B. Anthony was best known for fighting for fighting for voting rights, she had brought her copy
of the Fourteenth Amendment of the Constitution, which guaranteed the right of citizens to vote. She
had also brought a copy of the New York State Constitution (Pollack 9 10). However, she ended up
being jailed three weeks after she voted, because men interpreted the fourteenth amendment as only
male citizens could vote and women had no right to vote. Susan was ready to fight no matter how hard
the fight would be she was ready to take it on. Women won the right to vote in 1868 when the
fourteenth amendment was ratified; however, it was officially won with the nineteenth amendment. It
states that the right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the
United States or by any State on account of sex (Ginsberg, et al, A27), this was proposed in 1919 and
ratified in 1920.
Women were not only deprived the right to vote they also had a wider pay gap and this was based
gender, this is called the gender pay gap. The gender pay gap is the difference in pay between men and
women. In Ain t I a Woman Truth emphasizes how women deserve to be treated the same as men. In
1869, many of these women are now performing the same grade of work at $900 per annum for which
men receive $1800. Most of them, too, have families to support; being nearly all either widow or
orphans made by the war (Alter);

  • 2. Annene Frank And The Story Of Anne Frank Books or stories affect people in different ways, many of them being happy because everyone lives happily ever after. Very rarely do I get affected by books, and the Story of Anne Frank is one of them. This poor Jewish girl, has to hide away with seven other people, three of them being her actual family members. Mrs Vandaan was one of the many people living in that annex. In some way shape or form I connected with this character on an emotional level. She showed me that there is more to life than buying the most expensive clothing, and how to care for people. Just as she cared for her husband and son. When Anne dropped milk on her fur coat, it showed me that I should forgive, even if it seems like it could never be forgiven. Even if it was a coat from my father. Anne s life became the opposite of a normal kids life, when she had to go into hiding. This I find cruel and unfair, she should be able to go play outside and hang out with friends. Yet she can t, and it s all because of a religion. When she s in this annex she is getting skinnier and skinnier by the day because they have so many people, and not a surplus of food. This cruel, for this girl and her family to have to go through this. It makes me even more upset because of my german heritage. World War 2 was caused because of Hitler and his desire to make the perfect race. This meant getting rid of the Jews, why this group of people I don t know, but it s still unfair. These skills are no different in her song Pretty Hurts. Released on June 10, 2014, from her self titled album Beyoncé, the song written by Sia, Joshua Ammo Coleman, and Beyoncé herself resonates its empowering message with people of all different genders, body types, and races. This song, in particular, is targeted towards women, especially young women who are still developing. Beyoncé gained popularity when she started off in an all female group named Destiny s Child back in 1997, and once she broke off from the group, she only continued to grow as an artist and person. In all six of Beyoncé s solo studio albums, there are songs with galvanizing messages of female power and all of them reached number 1 on the charts. In Beyoncé s song Pretty Hurts, she uses social issues, rhetorical appeals such as pathos, literary devices, metaphors, and vivid imagery to further the theme of female empowerment. Pretty Hurts is the opening track on her self titled album, and I believe that this makes a statement towards the contemporary feminists issues of today. There are many different social problems that the song tackles. Beyoncé is known as a feminist, and on each of her albums some songs are about female empowerment such as, Single Ladies, Irreplaceable, and Run the World (Girls). • 4. A Brief Note On Helicobacter Pylori HELICOBACTER PYLORI Helicobacter pylori have been implicated in cases of chronic gastritis, peptic ulcer diseases( includes duodenal and gastric ulcers). Even though these diseases were linked to stress factors, in 1983, Australian microbiologists Warren and Marshall proved that gastritis and peptic ulcer diseases were infectious diseases caused by a bacterium (1). This bacterium has also been linked to gastric carcinoma and Mucosa associated lymphocyte (MALT) lymphoma (2) This organism was formerly classified under the genus Campylobacter because scientists found a campylobacter like bacterium in the gastric mucus of patients with chronic gastritis. It was thus formerly called Campylobacter pylori, however, further study of the organism at genetic level by analyzing a sequence of the 16s rRNA gene necessitated the formation of a new genus, hence the name Helicobacter pylori (3). Helicobacter pylori is a Gram negative spiral shaped microaerophilic rod (4). The term microaerophilic means that the organism requires small amounts of oxygen to survive. It is also a rapidly motile organism due to the multiple polar flagella (4). The bacterium is approximately 3µm long and 0.5µm in diameter. The organism has 4 7 polar sheathed flagella which helps it to move in the gastric mucus in the stomach (3). It is also a fastidious organism. This means that it requires special nutrients to grow. It recalls the eventful murders of Milly Dowler, Amélie Delagrange and Marsha McDonnell and the full life story of the serial killer Levi Bellfield. Writing A Young Adult Speculative Fiction How to write a young adult speculative fiction short story Intro There are many different facets to writing a successful young adult speculative short story. There are lots of different problems that can be faced when trying to write these stories such as not understanding the genre completely, not being able to write interesting characterisation, figuring out how to properly structure the story, putting just the right amount of detail into the setting, working out an exciting plot line, getting the proper editing and drafting done, and finding inspiration to begin writing and figure out where the story will go from there. The world of speculative fiction Speculative fiction is a broad term that encompasses science fiction and fantasy. Science fiction tells stories relating to science and technology and has a basis in the principles of science. These stories are often set in space, the future, in a different world, or in a different dimension of universe. Fantasy, however, is not necessarily based on science but more on imagination and often includes fantasy worlds and elements of the supernatural. Different people have varying ideas about the parameters of genres and how many there are. For example some sub genres of science fiction/ fantasy are apocalyptic, post apocalyptic, cyberpunk, first contact, humorous and time travel. Science fiction and Fantasy both ask the question, What if? An example of a speculative fiction is The Hunger Games trilogy. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Michael Lewis The Big Short Book selection #3 (from the JBHS Summer Reading List): The Big Short (1) There are countless themes, characters, and plots of The Big Short that I could discuss but the personalities described by Michael Lewis were, to me, the most interesting part of the book. Michael Burry, a Hedge Fund Manager from California, was the first person to short the Housing Market. He is awkward, with Aspergers and a glass eye, but as it turns out, a brilliant money manager. Greg Lippmann, a Deustche Bank trader found out about Burry s deals and was quick to short the market as well. One of the most confusing moments of the story was the ending. It took me a few minutes to understand the meaning of it because, this part of the book shines a new light on the meaning of the story. While reading the book, I thought Michael Lewis was telling the story to give people a new idea of wall street and the big banks but while reading the last few paragraphs I found a different meaning to the story. The ending, although a short few sentences, is pivotal moment of the book. It reads... But the biggest lag of all was right here, on the streets. How long would it take before the people walking back and forth in front of St. Patrick s Cathedral figured out what had just happened to them? After reading those sentences several times, I discovered the meaning. Although not explained in the book, after the housing market collapsed and a few of the big banks went out of business (Lehman Brothers and Bear Stearns), people marched across manhattan protesting in an event called Occupy Wall Street. The protests, however, didn t clearly define what they were asking for, they simply were mad. This is what Lewis is explaining; the people that are protesting, have not figured out the entire meaning of this huge financial crisis. When analyzing the relationship of Gilgamesh and Enkidu there are many factors that go into play. It is really the sole foundation of the whole Sumerian epic and it really changes the whole personality of Gilgamesh. In order to get a better understanding of how the two characters complement each other we have to first break down their individual appearances and characteristics. After that is made clear then it is more appropriate to begin to analyze their relationship which in time turns out to be a relationship for the ages. Gilgamesh like many other mythological heroes was fortunate enough to be made up of two parts, part man and part god. Of all of the men in his land he was the greatest and before he met Enkidu he used that to his advantage in both positive and negative ways. He was the most ferocious warrior and the most creative architect they had ever seen. Before the arrival of his better half, Gilgamesh used to force hard labor upon his people, rape his women, and selfishly indulge his appetite. With that being said you can pretty see with a clear eye view that before Enkidu s arrival, Gilgamesh was not that easy to like. Role of Mutated Gene in the Evolution of Large Brained, Small Jawed Humans The debate with in the anthropology field has been heated over the evolution of the human and the events that have lead us to where we are now. One of the major questions that is debated is how did we, humans large brained and small jawed, evolve from primates large jawed and small brained. Interestingly enough, this debate is now being directed from outside the field; by biologists and plastic surgeons. On march 25, 2004, Doctors Stedman (and others) published their findings in Nature (VOL 428) under the title Myosin gene mutation correlates with anatomical changes in the human lineage. Their findings point to the gene myosin and its mutated form MYH16 and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The mutations though are not found in other primates, even in chimpanzees the closes relative to humans alive (Associated Press). So at some point Humans evolutionary track shifted, incorporating this mutated gene. The question that next needs to be asked is why is this important, what does the gene mutation actually do? What is being suggested is that when the gene mutated, there was less muscles pulling and attached on the cranial bone of our ancestors. And because muscles can stunt bone growth and will sculpt the bones that it is attached to. It can have a crucial role in bone growth, in this case skull growth. When the head structures of the macaque (as well as other primates) were compared to humans, it was seen that the crests on the heads differed as well. The large crests on the macaque exemplify the how jaw muscles attach to the head and leave little room for the brain, and this crest is close to non existent in human heads for smaller, less powerful jaws. By having smaller muscles there are smaller anchors attached to the head and the skull is free to grow into a round shape. It is thus suspected that powerful jaws are incompatible with large powerful brains (Hopkin). The more interesting point about the mutated gene, to help further idea that the big brain and powerful jaw are dissonant, is when the mutation toke place. As the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 22. Essay On Oklahoma City Bombing Boom. That is the sound of hearts falling and shattering with the walls of the Alfred P. Murrah federal building on April 19, 1995. No one anticipated the chaos that would break loose that morning. At the time, those who witnessed the tragic event were not aware of the cause. The only thing they knew was that blood had been spilled, and stained the innocence of mankind. Twenty one years later, the memory of this disastrous event still burns and aches in the hearts of Oklahomans as well as the family and friends of the victims. When being questioned about the bombing, Timothy McVeigh would admit that the cause was hatred towards the American government. He was one of many that that was enraged with the events in Waco, Texas and Ruby Ridge. The early 1990 s were described to be a time of dramatic upheaval (Clinton). People were upset, and the easiest thing to do for some was to gather and oppose their own government. But the sense that Waco and Ruby Ridge were somehow not the fault of those who were advocating violence and armed to the teeth and prepared to exercise it, but the government that was attempting to enforce the law. And so it became symbolic (Clinton). They were so busy pointing fingers; they forgot the beauty of brotherhood and violated their freedoms. Freedom of speech is not bombing a federal building just because you disagree with their methods. The boundaries set in place by the government attempt to limit those who corrupt freedom. During her absence, there were two assessments and a survey that needed to me completed. These assessments included SAT 10, FFT (Teacher Survey) and MAP R. This was a very demanding experience. When I became the acting testing coordinator, only two weeks were left in the window and no surveys were completed. Within two weeks, I needed to complete 167 surveys for 7 teachers. Furthermore, he shows that as soon as the ruling class finds a more profitable way to make money, their attitudes would change regardless of the concerns of the working class. He also points out that the sailors knew that these wars were fought, for the most part, over wealth, a substantial portion of which was based on the key commodities of the Atlantic trades in which he worked gold, silver, fish, furs, servants and slaves, sugar, tobacco, and manufactures (Rediker 21). Once privateering was outlawed, and combined with the downsizing of European navies, many sailors found themselves out of work. This led to the rise of piracy, and in my opinion directly challenged the notion that European empires were strong and powerful. Your income statement will list all of your incomes, debts, and taxes so that you can properly assess how much money you have for future investments (Brigham, 2007). It is critical to account for all of your debts to get a legitimate view of your finances. For instance, do not forget to account for food, gas, cell phone bill, entertainment, and other non fixed monthly bills. In order to create an investment plan that you will stick to, you must include reasonable living expenses. If you do not include items such as entertainment, then long term acceptance of your investment plan will be dubious at best. Once you have a reasonable income statement created, you will need to figure out your Debt to Income ratio. This is very easy to create with the information you have included in your income statement: add your monthly income and payments and then divide your monthly income by your monthly payments, if your ratio is above fifty percent, than you should work towards lowering your debt with a goal of less than 25 percent (Brigham, 2007). • 33. A Study On Prevention And Treatment Of A Platelet... Diagnosing prothrombotic diseases early and preventing its complications are significantly essential. Therefore, this study sought to investigate whether MPV contain diagnostic value that can prompt it to be utilized as a platelet activation marker and as marker of evidence of thrombotic risk. Platelet activation is widely acknowledged to be an indicator of likely prothrombotic diseases. Platelet size, measured as MPV, has been shown to be an indicator of platelet function and is positively linked to platelet activity indicators (Tsiara et al., 2003). The correlation between platelet size and function can be attributed to the larger platelets that activated megakaryocyte produce in the bone marrow likely to be more reactive and easier to aggregate than the normal platelets. Such is because the larger platelets secret more β thromboglobulin and serotonin, have denser granules, generate more thromboxane in comparison to the smaller platelets while also showing more activity than the smaller platelets (Dastjerdi et al., 2006). Therefore, the hyperactive large platelets contribute considerably in speeding the formation and spread of intracoronary thrombus. This causes acute thrombotic events to occur (Smith et al., 1999). Increased MPV levels are exhibited to constitute an independent predictor for recurrent MI, ischemic vascular events or even death caused by coronary artery disease (Wang et al., 2011; Chu et al., 2010; Huczek et al., 2005).
