How Did Albert Einstein Impact The World
Albert Einstein and his Effect on the World
We can t solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them.
(Collected Quotes) This is a quote from one of the most influential minds in science of the 20th
Century. Albert Einstein was named Person of the Century by Time Magazine in 1999. (Mastin) Albert
Einstein was so influential to the world that his name has become synonymous with genius. (Isaacson)
He worked on many things in the field of physics that changed the way people think about the world
as well as working on social issues of the time such as working with pacifist, anti war organizations
and helping Jews escape persecution during the Holocaust.
Einstein s Theory of Special Relativity made major contributions to the field of physics. The Theory
of Special Relativity states that the speed of light is the same for all observers regardless at what speed
that observer is moving. (Mastin) His Theory of Special Relativity comes mostly ... Show more

This theory supposes that gravity is a warpage in the fabric of space time. (Mastin) This theory is
considered one of the pillars of modern physics. (Mastin) This theory replaces Newton s Law of
Gravity which had been accepted previously as being correct. It proposes the existence of black holes,
the bending of light and wormholes. (Mastin) The existence of black holes is important to the field of
physics because it is speculated that all galaxies revolve around super massive black holes. A year
after publishing his original paper he added the concept of the cosmological constant which works as
an anti gravity force. (Mastin) This force prevents the universe from collapsing on itself.(Mastin) At
the time people just thought of it as a mathematical fix and Einstein considered it his greatest blunder
(Mastin) Recent work in physics shows that this might be an answer to the problem of dark

Rhetorical Devices In The Aeneid
An ancient philosophy of classical Greece, in its most basic sense, Arete means excellence of any kind
, but more specifically to the culture of the period in which it originated meant the notion of
excellence and the fulfillment of one s purpose and/or function: in other words, the act of living up to
one s full potential .
Example: Aeneas, from the Aeneid, is an example of someone who possesses the foundational aspects
of the Arete philosophy. As a Trojan leader, Aeneas respects prophecy and attempts to incorporate the
idea of his own destiny into his actions, in spite of emotional impulses that conflict with his fated
duties. His ability to accept his destined path despite his unhappiness in doing so makes him a graceful
hero and a worthy recipient of the honor and favor the gods bestow upon him. His compassion for the
sufferings of others, even in conjunction with a single minded devotion to his duty, is another aspect
of his heroism. Sympathetic to the weariness of others on the journey, he delivers speeches to his fleet
to keep the men s spirits high.
Aristeia*
A scene in the rhetorical devices of epic poetry where a hero in battle has his most excellent and
glorified points. Aristeia can be the effect of the loss of life for the protagonist.
Example 1: Book 5 of the Iliad is an example of aristeia, in which Diomedes prays to Athena for
revenge, and the goddess endows him with superhuman strength and the extraordinary power to
discern gods on the field of

The Sixth Amendment And The Sixth Amendment
Introduction Literature Review
Questions concerning pretrial exposure center on the tension between two guaranteed rights in the
United States, the First Amendment and the Sixth Amendment to the Constitution. The First
Amendment allows the press to print, while the Sixth Amendment promises a speedy and public trial,
that an unbiased and impartial panel directs. When the press exposes a current investigation, including
prior convictions, or admissions, a panel, or select representatives on a panel, would be exposed. In
Ruva Guenther s (2017) experiment, researchers examined how a panel s memories, evidence
interpretations, perceptions and guilt decisions varied when pretrial exposure was present. It was
determined that representatives on a panel who were exposed would pass their bias onto other
representatives not exposed prior. Given the strong constitutional protections that the press possesses,
courts need to manage chances where pretrial exposure is present.
Purpose Research Question
In dismissing representatives on a panel, we assume that pretrial exposure determines their conscious
decisions. With that being said, we expect a representative on a panel to know that pretrial exposure
could determine their decisions, and to know how to isolate this in deliberation. Dating back to Nisbett
and Wilson s experiment in the 1970 s, decisions were determined in the unconscious, but what
determined these decisions or biases, even when biases in decisions were mentioned, was unsure,
(Newell Shanks, 2014). In other words, one knows that biases could determine decisions, but not
theirs. This so called bias blind spot is common in deliberation. The ultimate question is, what is there
to do concerning pretrial exposure while selecting an unbiased and impartial panel?
Proposition
Voir dire is intended to determine whether representatives on a panel were exposed to pretrial
exposure. Dismissing representatives on a panel who were exposed to pretrial bias is unrealistic. To
combat issues concerning pretrial exposure, as well as bias, counsel will de bias mock representatives,
as a means to de bias perceptions and decisions, as a solution. De biasing will result in more reasoned
and less automatic decisions. With

ENVIRONMENT OF BUSINESS
ASSIGNMENT
Describe 6 Forces that Operation
Managers go for or look out for in the Environment of their Businesses or Organizations.
There are many forces that Operations managers go for or look for in their business environments.
They Include:
1. Threat of New Entrants
The easier it is for new companies to enter the industry, the more cut throat competition there will be.
Factors that can limit the threat of new entrants are known as barriers to entry. Some examples
include:
Existing loyalty to major brands
Incentives for using a particular buyer (such as frequent shopper programs)
High fixed costs
Scarcity of resources
Government restrictions or legislation
Entry protection ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

3. Power of Suppliers
This is how much pressure suppliers can place on a business. If one supplier has a large enough
impact to affect a company s margins and volumes, then they hold substantial power. Here are a few
reasons that suppliers might have power:
There are very few suppliers of a particular product
There are no substitutes
The product is extremely important to the buyer, they cannot do without it
The supplying industry has a higher profitability than the buying industry
Supplier switching costs relative to firm switching costs
Degree of differentiation of inputs
Presence of substitute inputs
Supplier concentration to firm concentration ratio
Threat of forward integration by suppliers relative to the threat of backward integration by firms
Cost of inputs relative to selling price of the product
4. Power of Buyers/ Customers
This is how much pressure customers can place on a business. If one customer has a large enough
impact to affect a company s margins and volumes, then they hold substantial power. Here are a few
reasons that customers might have power
Small number of buyers
Purchases of large volumes
Switching to another (competitive) product is simple
The product is not extremely important to the buyer, they can do without it for a period of time.

Zoollover Animal Pandemic By Davis Quammen Summary
A spillover , also referred to as zoonosis, can be best described as a disease that has the capability to
cross from another species to human beings. The scientists until now, have been successful in
identifying approximately 200 zoonotic diseases. In the recommended book, Spillover: Animal
Infections and the Next Human Pandemic, Davis Quammen has highlighted the emergence and
significant effects of zoonotic both human and animal all over the Blue planet. He has covered a good
number of the infamous diseases including the Ebola, HIV, malaria, SARS, influenza and Lyme
disease. This revolutionary complex story written down by the well known contemporary writer is an
union of adventure, action and secrecy. What surprised me the most is that Quammen traveled across
the globe for discovering the beginning of pandemics and outbreaks affecting humans. Throughout the
book, he constantly shows that the zoonotic spillovers are the causes of HIV, SARS, and other human
epidemics whereby humans are affected by the microbes transferred through animals. The author talks
about the spillover events and their causes eventually allowing the readers to understand that it is, in
fact, human beings whose activities spark the entire cycle/process of zoonosis and that they are the
major role behind it. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is actually an unique detective story in which the author follows an international detectives team as
they come across and expose the villains. It needs to be mentioned that Quammen keeps the reader
interested by using a fascinating flow of words that readers could easily digest. Although one can only
acquire a basic understanding of the spillover , it is truly an inspirational book for everyone interested
in science and disease pathology

Wuchang Rebellion
The Wuchang Rebellion can be seen as having a pivotal role in the creation of modern China,
overthrowing two millennia of dynastic rule and sowing the seeds of revolution in the minds of the
people. However there was a lack of major de facto change from Qing dynasty governance, and May
4th has a questionable impact on modern China. Furthermore, the Warlord Era that stemmed from
Wuchang was a greatly regressive period. Considering these weaknesses, to describe it as the most
significant turning point would be misleading. Wuchang shares claim to that title with myriad events
including the Third Plenum, the Civil War and resulting proclamation of the PRC, and the Hundred

first SEZs , and consulted with Deng on economic growth plans . Another example is the household
responsibility system , which was rejected at the 1978 Third Plenum and only implemented in 1981,
showing that change was not as immediate and drastic as the dominant narratives describe. Though
there is no doubt that the Third Plenum was important, it has been mythologised in the public
consciousness into a tale of a single man dragging China into modernity compelling, but inaccurate. It
is a politically convenient story as it created a flattering image of the CCP as strong and decisive. The
actual effects of the Third Plenum were long term and enabled much change but it did not correspond
with a crucial, conclusive shift in the historical narrative, instead maintaining the trend towards reform
established in previous years and beginning the transformation of China s economic and social
landscape. This is significant but not as great a turning

The Reaction Of A Fischer Esterification Reaction
In this experiment, a Fischer Esterification reaction was performed with two unknown compounds.
The unknown compounds, Acid 2 and Alcohol D, were identified by using the knowledge of the
reaction that took place, and the identity of the product that was synthesized. The identification of the
product resulted from analysis of IR and NMR spectra. For this experiment, Alcohol D and Acid 2
reacted in the presence of concentrated sulfuric acid, resulting in a colorless solution with brown layer
on top. After washes with sodium bicarbonate and brine, the pale yellow liquid product was dried and
then distilled. Distillation resulted in two colorless fractions, the second of which had a boiling point
of 69 70 ˚C. This boiling point is unrealistic for any compound obtained in this experiment, so it was
not used in identifying the product. After distillation, both fractions were spectroscopically analyzed.
The IR and NMR spectra obtained for both fraction were identical, meaning both fractions contained
exactly the same substance. Both fractions also smelled the same, like piña colada, therefore
confirming this conclusion. This outcome also meant that the amount of product synthesized was
5.7393 g. For the identification of the product, IR, 13C NMR and 1H NMR spectra were examined,
and the product was found to be butyl propionate. In the IR spectrum, RM 11 Bi, five key peaks are
observed. These peaks are sp3 hybridized carbons at 2961 cm 1 and 2877 cm 1, an ester at 1737 cm 1,

How Does Washington Irving Use Mythology
Several elements of mythology are present in the story, Rip Van Winkle , written by Washington
Irving. This story takes place in the Catskill Mountains where Rip Van Winkle wanders off in hopes of
fleeing his, shrew , of a wife. Rip encounters peculiar men who offer him a strange brew and he finds
himself waking 20 years in the future. Each of these elements, the setting, mysterious characters, and
the strange environments show the different characteristics of a mythological story. As the story opens,
the reader finds the setting to be on the Hudson River looking at the Catskill Mountains. These
beautiful mountains have their own magical air about them. Irving points this out with wording like,
every change of weather, indeed, every hour of day produces some change in the magical hues and
shapes of these mountains, and that wives from far and near use them as a barometer . ... Show more

Irving lets the reader know that this is a very old village from colonial Dutch times, and that the bricks
have actually been brought from Holland. The reader is then introduced to the main character of the
story, Rip Van Winkle. Irving portraits Rip as an easygoing man who is kind and gentle. Rip was loved
by all his neighbors , especially children. No one had a bad word for Rip except his wife, who, taking
advantage of his meekness, regularly nagged him. Her treatment of him earned Rip sympathy from
others. His only weak point was his inability to work for profit. It was not that he lacked patience or
perseverance; for, as Irving points out, He would sit on a wet rock, with a rod as long and heavy as a
Tartar s lance, and fish all day without a murmur, even though he should not be encouraged by a single
nibble. Rip Van Winkle and his wife are exaggerated characters in the story, Rip with his

Reproductive Rights Of Women In The United States
The ability for women from all walks of life to have access to affordable and safe healthcare including

the United States that women have had their reproductive choices made for them or extremely limited
by legislatures, especially when these decisions seem to come from a place of ignorance. It s been
incredibly disheartening to watch the reproductive rights of women within the United States be

would propose lie primarily in education as it is education that combats ignorance and misinformation.
In this particular case, it would be better sex

Master Harold and the Boys Critical Analysis
Master Harold... and the Boys
Athol Fugard s Master Harold... and the Boys is an instant classic that does a superior job at
encompassing the complex of racial hierarchies and interracial friendships that existed in South Africa
in the mid 20th century. Set in 1950 the play follows the everyday lives of its two main protagonists:
Hally, a white, seventeen year old male discontented with his schooling, and Sam, a middle aged,
black servant of Hally s family. During this period the rigid racial structure of Apartheid remained
dominant in the nation, institutionalizing the already understood separation of disenfranchised blacks
and privileged whites. These de jur social classifications cannot however denounce the observable

Eventually convinced of the impossibility and distracted by his school work, the thought nevertheless
preoccupies our young protagonist s mind, coloring each action and reaction throughout the rest of the
play. The moment of engagement is closely married to the introductory incident in this work as the
audience s intriguing moment is parallel to Hally s emotional commitment to the idea of his father s
return. Unable to divorce his mind from this subtle inkling of helplessness, Hally s tone sharpens
considerably as he attempts to solidify his own authority through discourse with Sam coupled with
sharp remarks. Don t try to be clever, Sam. It doesn t suit you. Anybody who thinks there s nothing
wrong with this world needs to have his head examined. (Jacobus, 1403).
The major peripetie of the work occurs when Hally s mother phones again to confirm his worse fear:
his father is adamant about his return home. At this point all civil facades are dashed by Hally in a
vain attempt to solidify his own importance though coupled with the genuine emotional struggle of a
young boy at odds with his father. Searching for an outlet the rising action of the play takes a dramatic
turn from a slight incline to a steep hill as Hally visibly changes gears from distraught and confused to
violently offensive. And I m telling you you don t! Nobody does. (Speaking carefully as his shame
turns to rage at Sam.) It s your turn to be careful, Sam. Very careful! You re trading on

What Is The Cause Of Beethoven s Deafness
Did you know Beethoven began to lose His hearing and the cause of Beethoven s deafness is
unknown? But many people theorize it could have been caused by various things such as lead
poisoning (this lead poisoning would have been caused by Beethoven s love for wine), typhus,
competition taking Beethoven out of their way, or Beethoven immersing his head in cold water to stay
awake. Despite his hearing loss, Beethoven had a very interesting life. Beethoven s early life, when
Beethoven begins to lose his hearing, and his later life after he becomes deaf all shows what an
amazing musician he was. Ludwig van Beethoven was born in Germany on December 16, 1770.
Ludwig van Beethoven had a mother and a father, with three siblings. Beethoven s father was a
musician who taught Beethoven how to play the piano and violin. However Beethoven s father was
not an exceptional man because of the fact that his dad would often pull Beethoven out of bed in order
to play the piano for his father s drinking buddies, and getting beat if he complained. Ludwig went to
school, but the time he actually spent in school gave him hardly any knowledge. He couldn t continue

Compare and Contrast a Technical Approach to Innovation
Innovation has traditionally been seen as technical issue concerned only with machinery and systems.
Compare and contrast this technical approach to innovation with the more knowledge centred
approaches discussed on this course. Your answer should draw upon case study evidence to critically
assess the value of the two approaches.
Innovation is a key element of modern business. In a world full of modern industrialised nations it is
essential for big business to innovate. Ed Rhodes and David Wield identify innovation as; the
implementation of new technologies (Rhodes, E, 1994, page 79) for a firm to rise above its adversaries

there are intangible sciences such as the science of Management, where new theories and innovations

Benefits And Downfalls Of The United States
I. INTRODUCTION
Technology is an essential part of human development, but with technological advancements we can
see our lives being changed every single day. In Sao Paulo, technology is on the rise and is slowly
catching up with the United States and other countries that are quickly developing. With a generation
of kids in the United States that have connection to anything at their fingertips, we can notice that our
perspectives and modalities are always adapting. America has developed wireless technologies that
transfer data with broadband and wireless devices. Streaming services such as Pandora, Spotify,

The data transfer rate is very important because it regulates our devices and technologies we use. In
general, the data transfer rate reflects changes and improvements in digital technologies, where newer
systems, such as solid state electronics, have resulted in much higher data transfer rates within only a
few decades. Often, people mistake transfer rate with broadband, nevertheless, they are two different
things working in slightly different ways.
Transfer rate looks at the amount of data that has actually been transferred between two different
points, while bandwidth is a measurement of the theoretical maximum transfer capacity of a certain
point on a network. With all this data flowing freely, there has to be some sort of restriction on how
fast different applications are. This is where net neutrality comes into play. For example, online
streaming effectively requires your computer to download a new image once every fraction of a
second. This takes up much more data than sending a simple email or using a simple application. The
result of this is that organizations and bigger users have to buy high performance networks to
maximize rates. Companies such as T Mobile have released unlimited data plans with no cap on, and
this has been causing waves throughout the industry. They have been attempting to gain market share
with companies like AT T and Verizon. Now, they offer to pay out the contract fees of customers who
switch over. T Mobile may not be favoring one

Should We Legalize Prostitution Essay
Should we legalize prostitution in the US?
The laws regarding prostitution, often called the oldest profession in the world , have been facing
changes for many years. They are multiple attitudes regarding prostitution and opinions on the
connotation this word should have but the idea people have of sex worker is usually negative. On a
legal matter sex work has been discussed many time and laws regarding this act varies around the
world. Some countries found this act immoral and think that it should not be accepted on some ethical
and legal concepts while other countries accepts it not only on a legal manner but also as a way of
making a living for those who decided for themselves that this is what they want to do. A lot of
questions regarding the decision we should make about the legal aspect of this work are in relation to
the impact it can have on the society and on the workers itself. Four different views approach this
subject; the criminalization of the act, the abolition of the act, the decriminalization of the act or the
legalization of it. (p.44 why is prostitution criminalized?) Criminalization is the one presently
established in the US. It means that all parties involved in the act are open to criminal punishment.

The Handmaid s Tale By Offred
The Handmaid s Tale is similar and relatable to Gender equity/inequity because this book talks about
how Men and women aren t equal. Males tend to have more power over females. The women are
referred to Handmaid s which are also known to take care and breed children. They aren t allowed to
read or write. This honestly is a problem towards society. These women have no hope to stick up for
themselves because they get executed if they try to get free from a place run by Men.
The Handmaid s Tale is such an interesting book with a closely realistic concept of society. Everything
that happened in the book most likely happened one way or another, some of these events were down
in history. It s one of the things that shocked me throughout this book. Women ... Show more content

Girls and women have made major strides since 1990, but they have not yet gained gender equity.
Women are expected to bear children and remain devoted to their husbands. They are also expected to
be obedient, indecisive and weak. The women are confiscated of everything belonging to them
including their bodies, rights, identities and names. In the book, women s bodies are abused , turned
into prostitutes and are portrayed as sex objects throughout the book. For example in the book when
Offred says Women kneeling, sucking penises or guns, women tied up or chained or with dog collars
around their necks, woman hanging from trees, or upside down, naked, with their legs held apart,
women being raped, beaten up, killed is what the handmaid s are expected to do. There is no hope
what so ever in these women. The women are expected to work, cook and clean the house. Other
times the women are expected to take care of their children and husbands too. This doesn t seem as
harsh right. Well it really is when you twist the plot to women being stripped from their rights and not

Frida Kahlo stated, I paint my own reality. The only thing I know is that I paint because I need to, and
I paint whatever passes through my head without any other consideration. Kahlo focused on her

many reasons why Frida Kahlo is a hero known among many others. Frida Kahlo was born in

She constantly had to deal with the comparison. What was even worse was that he had cheated on her

it got to her that he was in fact cheating, she found out the love of her life was cheating on her with
her own sister, she went into shock and her world stopped. She began to live a depressing and lonely
life. Kahlo had no one to go to and felt betrayed. In all of this she still somehow had the state to think

her feelings out on the canvas. One of her most famous paintings is The Broken Column. Kahlo still
decided to express her suffering, but in a way that the world would benefit from. Kahlo wanted

1.0 THE CONSTRUCTIVE NATURE OF MEMORY
1.1 DEFINITION
The constructive nature of memory holds that we use a variety of information such as perceptions,

The Examples on how the Constructive Nature of Memory works
A study by Addis et al in which participants were scanned while they were either remembering a past
experience or imagining an event that might occur in the future. Addis et al divided each of these tasks
into two phases. In the initial construction phase, participants generated either a remembered or an
imagined event in response to a cue word (example, dress ) and made a button press when they had an
event in mind, which typically required about 7 or 8 seconds. In the immediately following
elaboration phase, participants generated as much detail as possible about the remembered or
imagined event.
The most striking finding was that brain activity was highly similar during remembering the past and
imagining the future. This overlap was most apparent during the elaboration phase, when participants
focused on generating details about the remembered or imagined event. A core network of brain
regions that had previously been implicated in the retrieval of episodic memories, and has also been
linked to a variety of internally driven cognitive processes showed common activation during both

Essay On Is Canada A Just Society
Canada as a Just Society
Canada as a just society has changed a lot throughout the years, Canada has and still is a
discriminative place but I believe it has definitely improved but there are still changes that need to be
made. However,As said Canada has changed for the better andit has improved a lot since her older
days, and not everything will always be perfect, a conflict will always arise and maybe we cannot
always solve the problem. Canadian identity has been working towards a just society but it has been
negatively affected by how they have treated minorities in World War One, with aboriginals in
residential schools, the enactment of the War Measures Act in a time of peace and the continued
LGBTQ discrimination.
Canada before working towards becoming a just society was a very discriminative place. During the
events of World War One,WWI black and Chinese Canadians were prevented from joining the war
along with aboriginals. Women were treated the same at the time, it was common for most women to
stay at home wives and take care of the children. This was the stereotypical family at the time and was
believed to be the ideal family too. Canadians thought poorly of minorities and even claimed it was to
keep them safe, the aboriginals were an example, Canadians claimed the enemies might believe that
they are savages which was a reflection of how they truly felt. Minorities were clearly being treated
worse than the majority, they were seen as inferior and only good for

How to Become a Translator
How to Become a Translator
The industry of language translation is gaining momentum quite rapidly than it has fifteen years ago.
It has grown to be regarded as one of the most promising career opportunities at this age of digital
technology. Businesses and individuals have created a greater and increasingly stable demand for
human translators. Linguists now have minimal fear of being saturated in their profession because of a
teeming demand for translation projects. The emergence of machine translation and computer aided
translation has helped the industry contrary to some people who deemed these tools as unfavorable,
threatening to extinguish human linguists with such technology. It has, in fact, made the human
translator an inevitable component of the translation process. Aware of the restrictions and limits of
what these tools can do, the human translator is still the one in control of the whole process. Human
logic and knowledge cannot be replaced with machines or any other tools. Machines can only interpret
data and concept up to a certain degree; they cannot translate concepts. Only the complexities of the
human brain can grasp these often technical and difficult processes.
Given the important functions that human linguists play in content translation for business expansion
and product localization, the demand for translators is seen to go up in the ensuing years. This means
that here will be a steady flow of jobs for more translators all over the world. Is language

others in the past. Whether it be a person we ve never met, a person we saw for the first time, or even

people. However, stereotypes are never random; there seems to be some sort of perceived knowledge
about the nature of a person when the stereotype is formulated. A stereotype is oftentimes used to
categorize a group of people who are practically forced to act likewise in order to fit in. Throughout

From a very young age, fathers often tend to train their sons to grow up to be proper men, as Clive
reveals, My son is young. I m doing all I can/ to teach him to grow up to be a man (Act 1, Scene 1).
Edward, in turn, strives to make his father proud, but is not capable. He says, What my father wants I
d dearly like to be. / I find it rather hard as you can see (Act 1, Scene 1). Clive s son is portrayed as a
girl; after all, he loves playing with his sister s doll. He takes care of the doll as if it were his; however,
he is beaten by his mother, nanny, and father as a result. Playing with dolls was seen as a girl s
activity, and that was definitely not seen as proper behavior for a boy. Additionally, he engages in a
few sexual encounters with Harry which reveals his gay sexual inclinations. Such relationships and
activities were looked down upon in disgust, even worse they were prohibited! Churchill had a girl

of all the stereotypical aspects attached to it. One could only imagine the deep sorrow Edward had to
go through to fulfill the stereotypical expectations of a man, when he truly felt like the girl playing his

The Regooco Art Movement Of The 18th Century
The Rococo Art Movement
During the 18th Century, there was a turning point to the basic style and mood of artists craft, due to
The Enlightenment and The French Revolution. Towards the end of the dramatic and regal Baroque
period, a lighter hearted method of painting came about, known as the Rococo style. It was considered
a brighter and more amorously themed approach which affected many aspects of art including
sculpting, painting, interior design, architecture, and more. Rococo art was shown on chapel ceilings
in the form of frescoes, but was mainly a way of decoration for large wealthy homes. It was a sign of
riches to have the curvy, intricate paintings and architecture among your archways, doors, and even
chairs. Rococo paintings themselves featured lovey subjects without a main theme or meaning, jus the
seen beauty. Rococo Art will forever be remembered as a great era of art that was in regal demand.
The Rococo style of the 18th century movement was derived from an earlier Baroque style, which
consisted of more biblical scenes and heroism than the light hearted Rococo. It consisted of much
more idyllic scenes of love and beauty than that of the baroque style. The book The Baroque Period:
Movements in Art explains Rococo art as, Instead of being used to teach people or influence their
thoughts, art was primarily something to be admired and enjoyed. Beauty and feeling became the
dominant artistic goals (pg.39). The thing to be appreciated about rococo style art

Abstract
This report aims to analyse and discuss the results of carrying out tensile tests for two materials, in this
case Mild Steel and Nylon. The purpose of this is to use the information generated to calculate Young
s Modulus, Yield Stress, Tensile Strength, and Percentage Elongation. These properties must be
known before designing a product using the materials tested, because the anticipated behaviour of the
material must be suitable for the design specification, with a margin left for safety.
The test followed the standard procedure for tensile testing; force was applied to a specimen of known
dimensions, and the resulting extension was recorded, thus allowing a stress strain graph to be
generated. The bottom of the specimen was secured into the crosshead of a tensile test machine, and
the top secured to the load cell. An extensometer is placed on the specimen to measure extension. The
test is complete when the force applied by raising the load cell at a constant rate causes the specimen
to fail.

Angels Essay
Angels
An angel is a pure spirit created by God. The Old Testament theology included the belief in angels: the
name applied to certain spiritual beings or intelligences of heavenly residence, employed by God as
the ministers of His will.
HISTORY
Are Angels ambassadors sent from God to guide us, protect us or bring messages from heaven? The
word angel comes from the Greek word angelos which means messenger. The Bible says that God has
appointed many angels to those who love God and call to Him, Psalms 91:11 For He shall give His
angels charge over you, To keep you in all your ways. The bible refers to different types of angels,
with varying duties such as ugides, protectors, messengers and angels of the Lord, or as ... Show more

Joseph, son of David, the angel said, do not be afraid to go ahead with your marriage to Mary. For the
child within her has been conceived by the Holy Spirit. When Joseph woke up, he did what the angel
of the Lord commanded. He brought Mary home to be his wife. Matthew 1:20 24
Dionysius, a 5th or 6th century writer gives us the hierarchical order of the angels. The first group is
the seraphim, cherubim and thrones. The word seraphim (singular is saraph) is taken from the fiery
imagery often associated with the Presence of God Ezek. 1:27. Cherubim are represented as guardians
with many wings. Thrones have been depicted wearing stoles and kneeling before God
Seraphim stood above Him, each having six wings; with two he covered his face, and with two he
covered his feet, and with two he flew . Isaiah 6:2
So He drove out the man; and placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubim, and a flaming sword
which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life . Gen. 3:24
The 2nd group is composed of dominations, virtues and powers. Each group is associated with
specific symbols. The dominations held scepters and wore crowns. The virtues are shown with flasks
of perfume, trumpets, and rays of lightening. The powers are depicted wielding flaming

  • 2. How Did Albert Einstein Impact The World Albert Einstein and his Effect on the World We can t solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them. (Collected Quotes) This is a quote from one of the most influential minds in science of the 20th Century. Albert Einstein was named Person of the Century by Time Magazine in 1999. (Mastin) Albert Einstein was so influential to the world that his name has become synonymous with genius. (Isaacson) He worked on many things in the field of physics that changed the way people think about the world as well as working on social issues of the time such as working with pacifist, anti war organizations and helping Jews escape persecution during the Holocaust. Einstein s Theory of Special Relativity made major contributions to the field of physics. The Theory of Special Relativity states that the speed of light is the same for all observers regardless at what speed that observer is moving. (Mastin) This theory is considered one of the pillars of modern physics. (Mastin) This theory replaces Newton s Law of Gravity which had been accepted previously as being correct. It proposes the existence of black holes, the bending of light and wormholes. (Mastin) The existence of black holes is important to the field of physics because it is speculated that all galaxies revolve around super massive black holes. A year after publishing his original paper he added the concept of the cosmological constant which works as an anti gravity force. (Mastin) This force prevents the universe from collapsing on itself.(Mastin) At the time people just thought of it as a mathematical fix and Einstein considered it his greatest blunder (Mastin) Recent work in physics shows that this might be an answer to the problem of dark ... • 3. Rhetorical Devices In The Aeneid An ancient philosophy of classical Greece, in its most basic sense, Arete means excellence of any kind , but more specifically to the culture of the period in which it originated meant the notion of excellence and the fulfillment of one s purpose and/or function: in other words, the act of living up to one s full potential . Example: Aeneas, from the Aeneid, is an example of someone who possesses the foundational aspects of the Arete philosophy. As a Trojan leader, Aeneas respects prophecy and attempts to incorporate the idea of his own destiny into his actions, in spite of emotional impulses that conflict with his fated duties. His ability to accept his destined path despite his unhappiness in doing so makes him a graceful hero and a worthy recipient of the honor and favor the gods bestow upon him. His compassion for the sufferings of others, even in conjunction with a single minded devotion to his duty, is another aspect of his heroism. Sympathetic to the weariness of others on the journey, he delivers speeches to his fleet to keep the men s spirits high. Aristeia* A scene in the rhetorical devices of epic poetry where a hero in battle has his most excellent and glorified points. Aristeia can be the effect of the loss of life for the protagonist. Example 1: Book 5 of the Iliad is an example of aristeia, in which Diomedes prays to Athena for revenge, and the goddess endows him with superhuman strength and the extraordinary power to discern gods on the field of ... • 5. The Sixth Amendment And The Sixth Amendment Introduction Literature Review Questions concerning pretrial exposure center on the tension between two guaranteed rights in the United States, the First Amendment and the Sixth Amendment to the Constitution. The First Amendment allows the press to print, while the Sixth Amendment promises a speedy and public trial, that an unbiased and impartial panel directs. When the press exposes a current investigation, including prior convictions, or admissions, a panel, or select representatives on a panel, would be exposed. In Ruva Guenther s (2017) experiment, researchers examined how a panel s memories, evidence interpretations, perceptions and guilt decisions varied when pretrial exposure was present. It was determined that representatives on a panel who were exposed would pass their bias onto other representatives not exposed prior. Given the strong constitutional protections that the press possesses, courts need to manage chances where pretrial exposure is present. Purpose Research Question In dismissing representatives on a panel, we assume that pretrial exposure determines their conscious decisions. With that being said, we expect a representative on a panel to know that pretrial exposure could determine their decisions, and to know how to isolate this in deliberation. Dating back to Nisbett and Wilson s experiment in the 1970 s, decisions were determined in the unconscious, but what determined these decisions or biases, even when biases in decisions were mentioned, was unsure, (Newell Shanks, 2014). In other words, one knows that biases could determine decisions, but not theirs. This so called bias blind spot is common in deliberation. The ultimate question is, what is there to do concerning pretrial exposure while selecting an unbiased and impartial panel? Proposition Voir dire is intended to determine whether representatives on a panel were exposed to pretrial exposure. Dismissing representatives on a panel who were exposed to pretrial bias is unrealistic. To combat issues concerning pretrial exposure, as well as bias, counsel will de bias mock representatives, as a means to de bias perceptions and decisions, as a solution. De biasing will result in more reasoned and less automatic decisions. With ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 8. Zoollover Animal Pandemic By Davis Quammen Summary A spillover , also referred to as zoonosis, can be best described as a disease that has the capability to cross from another species to human beings. The scientists until now, have been successful in identifying approximately 200 zoonotic diseases. In the recommended book, Spillover: Animal Infections and the Next Human Pandemic, Davis Quammen has highlighted the emergence and significant effects of zoonotic both human and animal all over the Blue planet. He has covered a good number of the infamous diseases including the Ebola, HIV, malaria, SARS, influenza and Lyme disease. This revolutionary complex story written down by the well known contemporary writer is an union of adventure, action and secrecy. What surprised me the most is that Quammen traveled across the globe for discovering the beginning of pandemics and outbreaks affecting humans. Throughout the book, he constantly shows that the zoonotic spillovers are the causes of HIV, SARS, and other human epidemics whereby humans are affected by the microbes transferred through animals. The author talks about the spillover events and their causes eventually allowing the readers to understand that it is, in fact, human beings whose activities spark the entire cycle/process of zoonosis and that they are the major role behind it. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is actually an unique detective story in which the author follows an international detectives team as they come across and expose the villains. It needs to be mentioned that Quammen keeps the reader interested by using a fascinating flow of words that readers could easily digest. Wuchang Rebellion The Wuchang Rebellion can be seen as having a pivotal role in the creation of modern China, overthrowing two millennia of dynastic rule and sowing the seeds of revolution in the minds of the people. However there was a lack of major de facto change from Qing dynasty governance, and May 4th has a questionable impact on modern China. Furthermore, the Warlord Era that stemmed from Wuchang was a greatly regressive period. Considering these weaknesses, to describe it as the most significant turning point would be misleading. Another example is the household responsibility system , which was rejected at the 1978 Third Plenum and only implemented in 1981, showing that change was not as immediate and drastic as the dominant narratives describe. Though there is no doubt that the Third Plenum was important, it has been mythologised in the public consciousness into a tale of a single man dragging China into modernity compelling, but inaccurate. It is a politically convenient story as it created a flattering image of the CCP as strong and decisive. The actual effects of the Third Plenum were long term and enabled much change but it did not correspond with a crucial, conclusive shift in the historical narrative, instead maintaining the trend towards reform established in previous years and beginning the transformation of China s economic and social landscape. • 12. The Reaction Of A Fischer Esterification Reaction In this experiment, a Fischer Esterification reaction was performed with two unknown compounds. The unknown compounds, Acid 2 and Alcohol D, were identified by using the knowledge of the reaction that took place, and the identity of the product that was synthesized. The identification of the product resulted from analysis of IR and NMR spectra. For this experiment, Alcohol D and Acid 2 reacted in the presence of concentrated sulfuric acid, resulting in a colorless solution with brown layer on top. After washes with sodium bicarbonate and brine, the pale yellow liquid product was dried and then distilled. Distillation resulted in two colorless fractions, the second of which had a boiling point of 69 70 ˚C. This boiling point is unrealistic for any compound obtained in this experiment, so it was not used in identifying the product. After distillation, both fractions were spectroscopically analyzed. The IR and NMR spectra obtained for both fraction were identical, meaning both fractions contained exactly the same substance. Both fractions also smelled the same, like piña colada, therefore confirming this conclusion. This outcome also meant that the amount of product synthesized was 5.7393 g. For the identification of the product, IR, 13C NMR and 1H NMR spectra were examined, and the product was found to be butyl propionate. In the IR spectrum, RM 11 Bi, five key peaks are observed. These peaks are sp3 hybridized carbons at 2961 cm 1 and 2877 cm 1, an ester at 1737 cm 1, a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Rip encounters peculiar men who offer him a strange brew and he finds himself waking 20 years in the future. Each of these elements, the setting, mysterious characters, and the strange environments show the different characteristics of a mythological story. As the story opens, the reader finds the setting to be on the Hudson River looking at the Catskill Mountains. These beautiful mountains have their own magical air about them. Irving points this out with wording like, every change of weather, indeed, every hour of day produces some change in the magical hues and shapes of these mountains, and that wives from far and near use them as a barometer . ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Irving lets the reader know that this is a very old village from colonial Dutch times, and that the bricks have actually been brought from Holland. The reader is then introduced to the main character of the story, Rip Van Winkle. Irving portraits Rip as an easygoing man who is kind and gentle. It is appalling to me as both a woman and as a citizen of the United States that women have had their reproductive choices made for them or extremely limited by legislatures, especially when these decisions seem to come from a place of ignorance. It s been incredibly disheartening to watch the reproductive rights of women within the United States be chipped away and restricted over the past decade by state and federal legislatures. Master Harold and the Boys Critical Analysis Master Harold... and the Boys Athol Fugard s Master Harold... and the Boys is an instant classic that does a superior job at encompassing the complex of racial hierarchies and interracial friendships that existed in South Africa in the mid 20th century. Set in 1950 the play follows the everyday lives of its two main protagonists: Hally, a white, seventeen year old male discontented with his schooling, and Sam, a middle aged, black servant of Hally s family. During this period the rigid racial structure of Apartheid remained dominant in the nation, institutionalizing the already understood separation of disenfranchised blacks and privileged whites. Unable to divorce his mind from this subtle inkling of helplessness, Hally s tone sharpens considerably as he attempts to solidify his own authority through discourse with Sam coupled with sharp remarks. Don t try to be clever, Sam. It doesn t suit you. Anybody who thinks there s nothing wrong with this world needs to have his head examined. (Jacobus, 1403). The major peripetie of the work occurs when Hally s mother phones again to confirm his worse fear: his father is adamant about his return home. At this point all civil facades are dashed by Hally in a vain attempt to solidify his own importance though coupled with the genuine emotional struggle of a young boy at odds with his father. Searching for an outlet the rising action of the play takes a dramatic turn from a slight incline to a steep hill as Hally visibly changes gears from distraught and confused to violently offensive.
