How Art Has Changed On The Viewer Rather Than Art Made
FINAL EXAM
Does Art made in 1400 1900 put greater Demands on the Viewer rather than Art made after 1900?
Art is the creative field of study where people use their talents and imaginations to produce visual
work of someone or something. Artists usually indicate emotions and special techniques to create
harmony and balance within their artwork. Indeed, art has been evolving since the beginning of
humanity. But the first visual records can be traced back to the Paleolithic Period that is also known as
the Old Stone Age. During the course of history, the meaning of art has shifted immensely. There have
been times in history where artists have approached new ways and techniques. Also, new discoveries
were made about the importance and true ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Firstly, the Mona Lisa (1503 1506) portrays Lisa di Antonio Maria
Gherardini.1 Furthermore, Mona is the short form of Madonna which means Lady . The painting is
very unusual since the woman in it is not wearing any jewellery which was signifying wealth at that
time. She seems to be a special woman who emphasizes a serene assurance to engage the viewers.
Also, her blank facial expression is known as enigmatic .1 The emotions on her face are not very well
represented as her character and thoughts appear to be hidden instead of being exposed. There is a lack
of kindness in her eyes. Leonardo da Vinci shifted her eyes to the right side so that they look straight
at the viewers. This creates a mental density. The woman is shown in the form of a Renaissance
Pyramid . Many of the characteristics in the painting are similar to the ones in the Renaissance.
Secondly, The Last Supper (1495 1498) was painted on the walls of the St. Maria delle Grazie church
in Milan.1 The artist painted a captured scene where Jesus tells his guests during Seder that he will be
betrayed by one of them.1 All of them appear to be very shocked about what Jesus was telling them.
In other words, this painting is a symbolic depiction of Jesus. He appears to be right at the center of
the painting and is shown in a pyramidal form. His guests, who are all males, appear in groups of
three. There are four groups of three which appear on either side

A Very Brief History Of Beeswax Candles
Many candles have been used for hundreds and thousands of years and ever since the 1900 s it has
been the only source of light. Present, not many people use candles for their main light source. Some
reasons why some people use candles is for decorations, religious ceremonies, and to celebrate other
people s birthdays. In past years most candles were made from tallow. Tallow came from cows and
sheep, in the earlier times of the Egyptians and the Roman s. These early candles didn t burn well and
normally smelled worse. The Roman Empire was the first to provide evidence of a candle that
resembles the candle today. They melted the tallow until it was a liquid and poured it over fibers of
flax, hemp, and cotton, which were used as a wick. These candles were used in religious ceremonies
as well as lighting for their travels and houses.
In the earlier ages beeswax was used to make candles. These beeswax candles were made much like
the Romans made the candles out of tallow. Beeswax was a drastic improvement from the tallow, but
limited quantities were available. This made it expensive, limiting beeswax candles to clergy and the
upper class. Today, candles are mostly made from materials such as wax, paraffin wax, beeswax or
soy among other products. Some candles are also made from plant waxes or tallow while others are
made from a mixture of paraffin and plastic. Most people would say that the size, shape or color
would be the most important part of a candle, but most

Malignant Pleural Mesothelioma
Abstract
Malignant pleural mesothelioma (MPM) is a rare and aggressive type of cancer which originates in the
pleura within the chest cavity. MPM arises due to fibrous minerals exposures such as asbestos and
causes a pleural effusion. Usually thoracoscopy with some histo biochemical tests is needed to
establish the correct diagnosis. The pleural effusion (accumulated fluid) may be due to MPM, Lung
cancer (LC), metastic lung cancer (MLC), benign transudate (BT) or Benign Excaudate (BE). In this
study ATR FTIR has been used for analysis of pleural effusion, blood serum and whole blood of
patients suffering from pleura effusion and also healthy patients (in case of serum and blood). The
statistical spectra analysis shows a different variation

Teaching Assistant Report
The fascination and interest in text can be kept up with daily reading sessions. This will spark their
interest in decoding words. The teaching assistant will help with these skills including reminding the
child or their alphabet and phonic sounds to assist with decoding. Modelling is a key supporting
method for learning literacy both with speaking and writing words. In reading to children, the teaching
assistant will be showing them how to read fluently and how their voice can help make sense of the
text being read. Hearing modelled reading can lead to an increased interest in reading, an
improvement in vocabulary and more knowledge of the world around them. It is important for
children to read regularly, if not daily. This may be within the school ... Show more content on

Differentiation can be guided by a teaching assistant. The teacher will plan guided reading sessions
where the children are divided into their appropriate reading abilities. During the week, each group
will rotate with the teacher ensuring that the teacher is able to help improve their fluency and
investigation through reading instruction at their own reading levels. In turn, the teaching assistant
will give reading instruction to a separate group who will be working towards questioning the text
they are reading through comprehension. During these sessions, there will be emphasis on speaking
and listening together, and reading and writing together. These sessions also allow additional groups to
work independently, reading at their own specific level. The roles of the teacher and teaching assistant
in this area are interchangeable and dependent on the teacher’s planning. There are other strategies
that assist in this area including repetition and feedback, and

Vladimir Propp s The Morphology Of The Folktale
Please play chess with me , was the first message I sent her, pretending to be tame by requesting
permission. Later, I moved on to trying to boost her ego, deploying a strategy similar to that of
Odysseus when he tells Antinous, you re hardly the worst Achaean here, it seems. The noblest one, in
fact. You look like a king to me. (XVII, 458 460) I told her, everyone who goes to your school is smart
and I know that you are great at chess . My plan was to uplift her confidence so that she gives the
information that I desire. However, Alice caught on to what I was planning to do and retaliated. You re
so adorable! And pretty too! You are like the most beautiful person ever! , she replied. This was funny

The friendship I had with Alice was like what Joseph Campbell refers to in his Hero s Journey as The
Belly of the Whale . I felt like I was isolated from everybody else and when I finally escaped the belly,
I noticed a change in my world. Between the time of my defeat and the time of analysis, I always
thought that Alice was the one to blame for everything that happened in the finale of our friendship,
but the truth is, it was all my fault for being such an ignorant fool. I had always wished that Alice had
not said what she said, but after seeing how I was wrong, I m actually glad that she said it. Even
though her last words felt like they tore my genitals out for the dogs to eat raw (XXII, 503), I
eventually grew newer, stronger genitals that would hopefully be more difficult to tear

First I will explain the Seven eleven supply chain and how achieving strategic fit.
The role of a supply chain is to maximize surface. The decisions made in the phases of the supply
chain have a large impact on Seven Eleven. You want to manage the flow of products and the flow of
information very well, all this in order to minimize the costs. To achieve strategic fit consistency

In 2004, seven eleven positioned itself as a leader not only of the convenience store sector but also of
Japan s retail industry as a whole.
Seven eleven Japan developed an extensive franchise network and performed a key role in the daily
operations of this network. The network included both company owned stores and 3th party owned
stores. To ensure efficiency, Seven eleven based its fundamental network expansion policy on a
market dominance strategy (you must see to what extent a product, brand, or firm controls a product
category in a given geographic area)
How did they achieve the market dominance strategy? Seven eleven Japan opened the majority of its
new stores in areas with existing clusters of stores.
This gave them 6 advantages: 1. Boosted distribution efficiency 2. Improved brand awareness 3.
Increased system efficiency 4. Enhanced efficiency of franchise support services 5. Improved
advertising efficiencies 6. Prevented competitors entrance into the dominant area
They implemented the pull strategy by offering its stores a choice from a set of 5000 stock keeping
units. Depending on the customers demand. This is a way to be responsive to the customer. Besides
products, they also began to offer services that the customer could obtain at its stores. Some examples
are: ticket sales, copiers, atm installation,...
To be even more responsiveness to the customers demand the orders can be made online by the

The Threat Of Cyber Security
Safety or Freedom In the last decade, technology has evolved dramatically. Even to the point in which
is indispensable in our lives. As the world becomes more and more interconnected through
technology, the amount of information that is stored in servers all around the world continues to grow.
At the same time, governments, businesses, organizations, military groups, and terrorist groups are
constantly developing new technology in order to achieve a competitive advantage over the rest of the
world. The technology of today is much more advanced, powerful, and dangerous than the technology
from ten years ago, even to the point in which a single cyber attack can cause the death of millions of
people. For that reason, cyber security has ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are different types of attacks that could result in different outcomes. Terrorists groups are one of
the most dangerous because technology is facilitating their work. These groups use technology like
smart phones, computers, and other technology to communicate from remote locations and organize
and conduct attacks in different parts of the world, including the United States. In order for the
intelligence services of the United States to protect the country from these types of attacks and
function effectively, they need to implement operations in secret.
One of the most controversial secret activity of the last decade is the national security agency s
surveillance program. The surveillance program was authorized by President Busch right after the
September 11th 2001 terrorist s attacks. For many years, the national security agency collected and
monitored vast amounts of communications data, mainly phone records, from the people living in the
United Sates. One of the main issues of this program is that it violates the privacy of the people. news
reports have asserted that the NSA has conducted warrantless spying on the phone and e mail
communications of thousands of people inside the U.S., and has been secretly collecting the phone
call records of millions of Americans, using data provided by major telecommunications companies,
including AT T (Zetter). The way the national security

How Does Atticus Show Real Courage
Q1 I wanted you to see what real courage is, instead of getting the idea that courage is a man with a
gun in his hand. It s when you know you re licked before you begin but you begin anyway and you see
through it no matter what. (pg. 112)Those are the words that Atticus Finch a lawyer in a small town in
Alabama, called Maycomb used to describe what real courage is. For Atticus being a lawyer is
fighting for what is right whether if you win or lose. Atticus shows what real courage is in Harper Lee
s story To Kill a MockingBird.
Atticus is one of many characters in To Kill a MockingBird that shows courage throughout the whole
story, such when he defends Tom Robinson in a court case.. Atticus knows Tom is innocent and wants
to defend him, since no one else wants to. Like he said to his son Jem Q2 Shoot all the bluejays you
want, if you can hit em, but remember it s a sin to kill a mockingbird. (pg.119)What he means by that
is that if you know someone hasn t done anything wrong and you do something wrong to them, it s a
sin. He shows courage by helping an african american in a court case accused of raping a white
woman with the only evidence to help is Tom Robinson s word for it. This shows courage because not
many would have taken the task of that difficult case and have to hear what people say about them. ...

scene of where the mad dog is and he takes the risk of whether saving people or causing the dog to get

shoot good after many years of not shooting and under pressure like Atticus did. All in all Atticus
showed courage throughout the story many times, and like he said real courage is fighting for what is

This article outlines the actions taken by one acute trust to implement evidence based, best practice
recommendations for pressure ulcer prevention. Initially, an exploratory study identified specific areas
for practice development, particularly improving early risk assessment, intervention and focus on heel

include observable discolouration and palpable tissue changes such as localised bogginess, heat or
cold (NICE 2005). International guidelines (EPUAP/NPUAP 2009) advise a structured approach to
risk assessment using a combination of all three techniques. Ecirly intervention Once risk is identified
immediate action is imperative to minimise risk of pressure ulcer development. As evidence is weak
for specific interventions a number of areas should be addressed, involving ecirly initiation of
preventive action, improving tissue tolerance and protecting from the adverse effects of pressure,
friction and shear (Calianno 2007). Nutrition and tissue loading are two areas of nursing influence.
Strategies to ensure optimal nutrition should be used and the provision of oral nutritioneil supplements
has been associated with reduced tissue breakdown (Bourdel Marchasson et al 2000). Tissue loading
may be addressed by manual and mechcinical repositioning, mobüisation and exercise. Strategies to
minimise shear forces include addressing posture, moving and handling techniques and use of electric
profiling beds (Keogh and Dealey 2001). Positioning and repositioning Research has not established
an optimeil frequency of patient repositioning (Defloor et al 2005). Repositioning should be
undertaken on an individual basis in Une with ongoing skin evaluation,

Fate, Fate And Fate In The Movie Serendipity
They met in a Bloomingdale s store trying to buy gifts for their significant others. After a day of
excitement and romance, they went back to their own partners. Before parting ways, they each wrote
their name and contact information in a book, and on a five dollar bill, so if they ever crossed paths
again they knew it would be fate. This is the story of Jonathan and Sara, told in the movie Serendipity
. The movie shows the ups and downs of relationships and two lovers on the search to meet again.
Although the movie is titled Serendipity , they often talk about fate. So, what s the difference between
the two? Every once in a while, one may have the feeling of serendipity, but may not exactly know
how to name that particular feeling. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Thus, the word began to be heard everywhere, from film titles, to inspirational quotes, there s even a
children s book series titled Serendipity .
There are overlaps between many words in the English language that can be confused with each other.
Take fate, for example, being thought of as a supernatural power, it is used to describe events that a
person can not control. One may use fate to describe a how perfect a certain couple is when telling a
crazy story of how they met. This is not serendipity. Serendipity is when one person is on a search
trying to find an answer, or a specific item, and then finding something better and not expecting it.
These two terms are used together often to describe how events occurred. A classic example of
confusion between the two words is in the movie Serendipity . Fate is talked about more than
serendipity is, but serendipity would be a better word to use since each person was trying to buy socks
for their significant other but found someone else to love. It s understandable that the word fate could
be used, since it was like a force of nature that was trying to pull them back together. If someone feels
as if they found something they were not originally trying to find, and it was a better than the first one,
that is serendipity.
Overall, the main definition of serendipity is different than the many similar words one may originally
try to use. Since the origin of the

Humans Affecting The Nitrogen Cycle
In recent decades humans have been playing an increasingly large role in the nitrogen cycle. Not all of
the ways humans have been affecting the cycle have been negative, but the vast majority have been.
One key thing that has human activity that has been disrupting the nitrogen cycle is the burning of
fossil fuel. This burning releases carbon into the air at unnatural rate, and thus alters the amount of
nitrogen in the atmosphere. This has had far reaching effects that no one first thought of and is now
affecting the plant and animals in Acadia National Park. Another human activity that has increased
massively over the past few years is industrial nitrogen fixation. This process is used to create
fertilizer with high amount of nitrogen in it.

Information Based Medicine ( Ebm )
A Health intervention is an effort that promotes behaviour that optimizes mental and physical health,
or discourages or re frames behaviours considered to be potentially health threatening. So, Evidence
based medicine(EBM) is not the only but the best approach to health interventions as it emphasizes
the use of evidence from well designed and conducted research in healthcare decision making. EBM is
regarded as the gold standard of clinical practice. The term evidence based medicine , as it is currently
used, has two main tributaries. Chronologically, the first is the insistence on explicit evaluation of
evidence of effectiveness when issuing clinical practice guidelines and other population level policies.
The second is the introduction of epidemiological methods into medical education and individual
patient level decision making.
Evidence based medicine (EBM) is the process of systematically reviewing, appraising and using
clinical research findings to aid the delivery of optimum clinical care to patients.
EBM is the practice of solving the clinical problems in one s practice by judicious and systematic use
of the medical literature. This includes framing questions rightly and searching the right kind of
literature. Thereafter, the available evidence needs to be evaluated for the validity, strength and effect
size. Finally, the results are examined for applicability to the current problem which requires a detailed
knowledge of the clinical setting, patient

I always heard stories from my dad about how great the 1970s and1980s were but I never could grasp
what was so great about it. After interviewing my father about what made the 1980s unique, special,
and different, I was really able to make a connection of how identical his description was to the one
that took place in Ready Player One. After comparing the similarities between the two, I was also able
to make the connection of how different everything is today compared to the lifestyle back in the

game console, and the pure anticipation of buying the new and hottest video games still stick with me
today. I was glued to my Nintendo 64 and could not stop playing Super Mario 64 and NFL Blitz. I was

Hippolytus vs. Pentheus Essay
Hippolytus vs. Pentheus
When arguing the statement, the character of Pentheus in the Bacchae is portrayed as earning his fate,
whereas the character of Hippolytus in the Hippolytus is portrayed as an innocent victim of the god, I
must both, agree and disagree with it. I would definitely agree with it on a shallow point of view, but
would have to disagree with it upon dissecting both the stories. The stories tell of Hippolytus being
killed for something he did not do, while Pentheus was killed for not accepting the god Dionysus. But
when you look deep into the meaning of each story, the apparent black and white assumptions of
innocents and guilt change from definitive to doubt to say the least.
When reading the story of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Further along in the story, he ends up blaming Zeus for creating women and he also blames him after
finding out about Phaedra s feelings; which seems to me that he was even blaming Zeus for making
her become infatuated with him. The infatuation was Aphrodite s doing for lack of worship, not Zeus .
So even though Hippolytus did not sin toward Phaedra, he ends up sinning toward Zeus, by
questioning his putting of women on the earth and blaming him for something he had no part in, and
to Aphrodite by not giving her the respect she thought she deserved.
Then if read shallowly, the Bacchae also seems to be black and white, in the fact that the story tells of
Pentheus earning his fate. The first step would be when strange things started to happen and the arrest
of the stranger, Dionysus. Next, and the most important step in him earning his fate would be that
Pentheus rejects the belief of Dionysus. Later on, more strange things happen, namely miracles and
now Pentheus and Dionysus meet again, this time Pentheus is unable to reject him and starts to fall
under his spell. They then meet for a final time and now Dionysus is in total control and humiliates
Pentheus. When the chorus sees this, they invoke the Swift hounds of Frenzy to bring vengeance on
Pentheus for failing to honor the gods. Pentheus is then finally killed by Bacchantes with the aid of his
mother Agave. This seems to be a simple story of a man who rejected

Magna Carta Thesis
The Magna Carta is a document that holds significance in the foundation of the United States of
America, despite its British origins. Conceived as a peace treaty to alleviate political unrest in 1215,
the Magna Carta, which is Latin for The Great Charter, declared that all people, including King John
of England, are subject to the rule of law. Regarding its original purpose as a peace treaty, the Magna
Carta was not as effective in 1215 as it became in 1225 under King Henry III. It was during this era
that the Magna Carta s message of justice, fairness, and freedom had a substantial influence on King
Henry III s subjects. These core values epitomize several rights based declarations around the world.

Americans based their resistance mainly on the rights they shared with Britons in Britain not to be
taxed without their own consent, rights that they traced back to Magna Carta (Conway, n.d.). By
crafting a document that had already been revered by the same leadership by different subjects, the
Americans forced the British government to either comply or submit to hypocrisy. Ultimately, it was

Alzheimer s Disease ( Ad )
Alzheimer s disease (AD) is a disorder that is characterized by degeneration of the hippocampal and
cortical neurons of the brain causing memory impairment and a decline in cognitive abilities. The
current study by Ghoneim et al.1 focuses on the role of three proteins in the pathogenesis of
Alzheimer s. Brain derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) signaling is important for development and
maintenance of normal neuronal circuits in the brain. Glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP) is
expressed by astrocytes in the central nervous system in response to neuron damage. Ki 67 is a protein
that is responsible for detecting cell proliferation. Ghoneim et al. designed their study to explore the
effects of caffeine intake on the expression of these proteins in rats induced with AD.
Caffeine is hypothesized to have a protective effect against AD for a multitude of reasons. It is
believed that caffeine has the potential to reduce amyloid beta accumulation because it is associated
with reduced oxidative stress. It could also reduce the effects of the inflammatory response which is a
well known trademark of AD. Lastly, caffeine has been identified to have a role in maintaining the
blood brain barrier.
Previously, it has been suggested that drinking 3 5 cups of coffee per day during midlife is associated
with a 65% decreased risk of dementia/Alzheimer s in the elderly. Other studies have reported that
caffeine inhibits the production of amyloid beta in the brain and reverses cognitive

The Teachings Of Buddhism And Buddhism
Buddhism is among one of the ancient religions that emerged in the early 4th and 6th century. The
religion differs in many aspects with other religions, especially due to its emphatic teaching in the way
of life in the society. The teachings of Buddhism religion, originated from that ideas presented by
Siddhartha Gautama. Siddhartha Gautama was known by many of his followers as Buddha. The name
Buddha was used to mean the Awakened One (Yeh, 92). His definition among the natives of the
Eastern Indian, which is where he started his philosophical teachings, emphasized that the only way
that social beings could relieve themselves from the chains of ignorance was through understanding of
the truth. As a result, everybody would be conscious of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For Buddhists, it is impossible for men. Gautama continued his teachings on self actualization through
the Four Immeasurable, the Four Noble Folds, the Five Precepts and the Noble Eightfold Path (About
Buddhism).
The guiding belief that defines the Buddhists way of good life is that a self conscious person, free of
ignorance character will never be haunted by the evils of desire and ignorance and will remain
awakened to brace life. That principle of the Buddha could be associated with a human being s way of
life and reasoning. Regardless of our religious doctrines, Gautama s teachings explain the basic
characters that every living being should embrace and put in practice in order to understand life.
Various religious experts and philosophers have developed various notions and opinions about the
teachings of Gautama. For instance, Christian believers differ with Buddha s definition of rebirth as a
continuous process and dynamic change in every human being. On the contrary, Christians believe in
life after birth as the start of rebirth and eternity.
With such divergent developments, people have been left to wonder, are Buddhism teachings the
explanation to the reality of life, and has it directly influenced how people live regardless of their
affiliated religions? The question would face divergence of opinions; however, Gautama s advocacy
on self meditation could be the defining path to link

Stalin and His Creation of a Gulag
One of the most brutal mistakes made by Stalin was the creation of a GULAG. It is difficult to give a
precise characterization of its purpose. The aim of this work is to answer the question, Can we
generalize why certain people were able to survive the Gulag more than others? To survive the Gulag,
many prisoners had to fight with others for food, shelter, and simple medical care. Certain prisoners
went into religious and intellectual meditations to preserve at least the appearance of intelligence. The
survival required willpower, strength of mind, skills, mercilessness, and a lot of luck.
Every former Gulag prisoner explained his/her survival as a result of many insignificant strategies. A
variety of memoirists claimed that the only reason why they have survived was due to their spiritual
life. To distract themselves for the physical sufferings, many prisoners created mental exercises:
religious rituals, music, art, cards, chess, and literature. Prisoners used to write and read poetry to each
other, told stories, discussed philosophy and history. Under such harsh conditions, the prisoners were
required to have an extraordinary imagination. To play cards or paint, they had to use anything that

Doing Business In Mexico Essay
Doing Business in Mexico
Mexico is one of the largest and most open economies in the world. It has only a handful of strategic
sectors or industries not yet open to private investment. Mexico is forecasting an economic growth
rate between 2% and 3% over the next fiscal year so it is important to understand the different aspects
of what is involved with doing business in Mexico. Basic geographical information, cultural diversity,
and proper business etiquette will all play a large role in business operations.
Mexico is bordered by the United States to the north and Belize and Guatemala to the southeast.
Mexico is about one fifth the size of the United States. Baja California in the west is an 800 mile
peninsula that forms the Gulf of California. In the east are the Gulf of Mexico and the Bay of
Campeche, which is formed by Mexico s other peninsula, the Yucatán. The center of Mexico is a
great, high plateau, open to the north, with mountain chains on the east and west and with ocean front
lowlands beyond. The diversity of the Mexican geography lends itself nicely to many different forms
of business (infoplease).
With an estimated population of 125,531,053 in 2015, Mexico is the eleventh most populous nation in
the world. It is also the most populous Spanish speaking country in the on Earth. Mexico s population

Factors That Affect The Rate Of Catalytic Process
Vent pipes in cars contain small amount of Platinum rhodium alloy that transforms toxic emission
such as Carbon Monoxide and Nitrogen Dioxide to harmless gas such as Carbon Dioxide. During that
process, Catalyst plays an important role in accelerating the gas transformation, in which lowers the
activation energy. As an important element in the chemical reaction, catalysts are required in different
types of chemical reactions to increase the speed for reaction. During the process of speeding up
reaction, the property of catalyst itself will not change as the reaction takes place. But there are other
factors could affect the catalytic process, such as temperature, density, or pressure. Besides these
factors, is there any other factor that could affect the efficiency of catalytic process? That triggers my
interest of investigation. During agricultural use of catalyst, farmers try to change the pH value of
fertilizer to control the amount of time seeds need to germinate . Does pH value of solution affect the
catalytic efficiency? That becomes next step of investigation. In order to change the pH values of
solution but keep the property of solution itself constant. I need to add acid or alkali solution that will
not affect with either reactant or product. The acidity of solution is determined by the number of H+
and the alkalinity of solution is determined by the number of (OH) in the solution. I will find out
reactants that do not react with one type of acid and one type of

Dingo Research Paper
Many people will confuse the dingo with a domesticated canine but the truth is the dingos were the
step right before the true domestication of dogs in Australia. The time of arrival , the source and type
of animal wild or domestic, were all uncertain. There hasn t been a lot of evidence, so everything has
been speculation, says Alan Wilton, of the University of New South Wales. The oldest fossil found in
Australia dates from about 3,500 years ago. Dingoes can live in a wide range of habitats found on the
Australian mainland. Their preference is woodland and grassland areas that extend to the edge of
forests; they are only limited by access to viable water sources.

legs and sides. It has a long snout and a long, black tipped tail. The most common ancestor of the red
wolf is the grey wolf, even though the red wolf is very identical to the grey wolf, the only difference
that they have is that the red wolf are very endangered in the world today. Though red wolves once

Puritan Religious Changes
The religious changes that occurred in England during the early 1500s were less concerned with
doctrinal matters. King Henry VIII, initially a Roman Catholic, left the church over dynastic concerns:
He wanted to perpetuate the line of Tudor monarchs. Despite the emergence of an independent English
church, religious loyalties remained deeply divided for decades. Actually, the English church differed
a little from the Catholic Church, except for the central issue of allegiance to the pope. The remaining
similarity was a matter of deep concern to many who felt that the English Reformation had not gone
far enough. The name Puritan came to be used to describe members of the English Church who
wished to purify it of all its pretenses to the Roman ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

the laws fairly. He took what his people wanted under consideration when making the rules. Of
course, not everyone can be pleased, so some people did not like the rules but they learned to deal
with them. Another way the New England colonies and Southern colonies are alike is that their people
got to vote for their lawmakers. Virginia had the House of Burgesses that was a legislature that was

Cultural Differences And Family Bonds Collide
Cultural differences and family bonds collide in Tess de Loo s war time novel The Twins . Set
amongst the backdrop of WWII, The Twins tells the story of twins Anna and Lotte, one raised in
Germany and the other raised in The Netherlands. A beautiful look into the nature of separation The
Twins is more than an exploration of the ties which bind families, rather it confronts our expectations
of what nationalism is and if the crimes of the country can ever be forgiven. Separated at age six, after
the death of both their mother and father, the sickly Lotte was whisked away to the Netherlands to
recuperate with their uncle s family whilst Anna was forced to stay in Germany on a pig farm with
their grandfather. Over the years there s a constant yearning for their lost twin and neither can seem to
shake the idea that a deep, important parts of their lives is absent. Conversely the onset of Hitler s rise
to power and the subsequent war and bloodshed creates a rift between their lives that appears to be
insurmountable. The novel begins in the 1990 s; Anna and Lotte, now old women recuperating in a
health spa from their shared aliment of arthritis find themselves in each other s company after years of
detachment from the other. At first Lotte, the twin raised in The Netherlands is extremely reluctant to
engage with Anna. Whilst Anna, the twin raised in Germany is overjoyed to see her long lost sister,

How The Church Has Been Neglected By The Community Essay
Within the African American community, Christianity has manifest itself to be one of the cornerstones
of the community. Surprisingly enough however, the church was introduced to African Americans as a
means of trying to control the thoughts and actions of the slaves. When analyzing the church in its
modern state, it would be hard to come to this realization. Since its humble beginnings, many African
Americans have come to adopt the Christian faith as their own. Even as slaves, African Americans
began starting their own churches to allow them to worship how they wanted. Churches such as
Greater Mount Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church (GMPMBC) (which has been a part of the local
community since 1939) are prime examples of how the church has grown to become an integral part
of the African American community. This paper will analyze the history of GMPMBC and discuss
how it is overlooked in mainstream society. From there, it will transition in to discussing how the
church has been neglected by the community it serves.

Afghanistan After The Soviet Union
The Taliban arose in Afghanistan at the beginning of 1994. They started to gain power after the
Soviets had invaded Afghanistan in 1978 and left around the 1980 s. After the Soviet Union left
Afghanistan the Taliban gained power resulting in a civil war. This rise of the Taliban was not a
positive event in Afghanistan, it has caused problems that are still in occurrence today. Because of the
Taliban the Afghan people are having to flee their country in order to be safe, or stay home and fight
for their lives. The takeover of the Taliban in Afghanistan was a devastating time for the Afghan

The Taliban were originally trained to protect the people of Afghanistan from the soviets when they
entered the country, they had done more harm than good for the country. The purpose of the Taliban
was to only fight the Soviet Union and get them out of Afghanistan their home country. Although they
did get rid of the soviets they began to harm the people in Afghanistan and with their training from the
U.S along with the weapons provided became evidently unstoppable. To those in the Taliban they
believe that what they are doing is justified and that they are only doing as it is said by Allah.
The Afghans who are not apart of the Taliban have two choices; flee to another country or stay and
fight through the tough times of the Taliban control. Most have chosen to flee to another country and
make a better and safer life for themselves, Afghanistan was not a place for them to be. Their decision
to flee expressed great amounts of grit they were forced to learn new customs and a new way of life to
adapt to the country they fled to. As immigrants or refugees they faced hardships as well coming to the

Why Is William Howard Taft Considered A Failure Of President
William Howard Taft was president in the 1910 s and served as the 27th president of the United States

Essay Dissociative Identity Disorder
Dissociative Identity Disorder
Dissociative Identity Disorder, or DID, is defined as: The result of a marvelously creative defense
mechanism that a young child uses to cope with extremely overwhelming trauma (Hawkins, 2003, p.
3). Ross describes DID in this way: In its childhood onset forms, the disorder is an effective strategy
for coping with a traumatic environment: It becomes dysfunctional because environmental
circumstances have changed by adulthood (1997, p, 62). What types of traumatic environments are we
talking about here? Often children who form DID are involved in some sort of abuse. These types of
abuses can be physical, sexual and even ritual. Such abuses are not meant for children to have to
endure, however, the mind ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The imagining is so intense, subjectively compelling, and adaptive, that the abused child experiences
dissociated aspects of herself as other people. (Ross, 1997, p 59)
However, DID is not as simple as it seems. There are some who believe that it is created by therapists.
Paul R. McHugh writes:
MPD like hystero epilepsy, is created by therapists. This formerly rare and disputed diagnosis became
popular after the appearance of several best selling books and movies. It is often based on the crudest
form of suggestion. (http://www.psycom.net/mchugh.html)
In fact there are many more certified psychiatrists in America who are in agreement with McHugh. In
a survey of 300 psychiatrists in 1999, 2/3 believed that DID should not be included in the DSM IV
(http://www.ycp.edu/besc/Journal2001/Article_2.htm). This is a staggering number, for a truly
remarkable psychological condition. In spite of these statistics these same people believed DID should
be a proposed diagnosis, because of skepticism.
In true cases of DID new identities are formed to enable the child to be sheltered from the reality of
abuse. This diagnosis of DID is considered to be the most severe type of DID by Ross. He views DID
as a multifaceted psychological condition. Consider the following chart, found on page 98 of his book,

Joshua, I am going to the smoking car for a while.
Joshua opened the door to the smoking car. There were a collection of men most of them smoking
cigars and talking and laughing and drinking. Joshua sat down at a table next to a table in which two
men sat. One man had baggy clothes and was smoking a pipe. He had Brunette hair, brown eyes and
about 33 years old. The other gentleman had brown hair a moustache, glasses and was wearing a suit.
He was approximately 54. They were both speaking German, but Joshua was wearing his Universal

OK, now on with the lecture. On the other end of the spectrum of physics is relativity. Now Max,
essentially invented Quantum Mechanics and I explained Relativity, well to be more specific, the
Special Theory of Relativity.
Max, Both quantum theory and relativity are two of the most successful theories that we have ever
had. The problem is that they don t play well together. That s right, two theories that are as close to
reality as we have ever come to are not compatible with each other. It doesn t make any sense, does it?
When you try to apply relativity to the very small scales of the atomic realm, suddenly the
mathematics does not make sense any more. Quantities become infinite and predictions go wildly
astray. How is this possible? If I could answer that question, I would be preparing my speech for my
Nobel Prize ceremony. The thing that makes this amazing is that each theory is so close to describing
reality that it is almost inconceivable that it could be incorrect! If either or, indeed, both theories are
wrong, it will bring about a complete revolution in our understanding of reality. Albert, I agree with
the assessment that physics requires a great deal of imagination, but this imagination is in a
straitjacket. This means that you cannot imagine anything you like. What you theorize must also
conform to everything we already know. In other words, any new theory must not only explain the

Donald Trump Effect
Donald Trump
Have you ever heard of Donald trump? If not he is a 70 year old man born June 14, 1946 in Queens,
New York City. He is a Republican running for president in the election of 2016. I believe he has had a
positive effect on the election because I don t think he s just doing it for the money and that he speaks
the truth about what the changes the United Sates needs.
The first reason I think Donald trump would be a good president is because he speaks the truth and is
honest about what he wants to do to change America. For example, Trump wants to build a wall on the
boarder of United States and Mexico so illegal immigrants can t come into America and commit
crimes and not pay taxes because the government doesn t know that they are illegal ... Show more

The reason I think that is because he already has a lot of money, for jobs, he is a business man,
television personality, author, investor, politician and more. All together he makes 8.7 billion dollars.
The president makes $400,000 per year, therefore I believe Trump isn t dong it for the money because
the president makes a lot less than what he does.
Some people such as Muslims, Mexicans, and Democrats might think that Donald Trump has had a
negative effect on the presidential election because they might think he says and does mean things to
people. But what he wants to do is fix America by, strengthening the army, shut down parts of the
internet where Isis can not us it to recruit American people. And provide more funding for police
training and a lot more. In my opinion he s saying what should be done to make America better than
what it is now.
In conclusion I think that Donald Trump has had a very positive effect on the presidential campaign he
speaks the truth and is not just doing it for the money. He has said everything he wants to do to make
America great again and I believe the that is what he will do if he becomes the president of the United

What Is Demand Model Of Supply And Demand
Supply and demand is a model for understanding the determination of the price of quantity of a good
sold on the market. The explanation works by looking at two different groups buyers and sellers and
asking how they interrelate. The supply and demand model relies on a high level of competition,
meaning that bidding can only take place if there is a high amount of buyers and sellers in the market.
Buyers bid against each other and thus raise the price, while sellers bid against each other and thus
lower the price. The equilibrium is a point at which all the bidding has been done; nobody has a
reason to offer higher prices or accept lower prices. In this essay I will be critically analysing the
supply/demand model in understanding actual world supply, demand and market behaviour. I will
highlight this through the aid of diagrams and examples. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This model will work most accurately when there is perfect competition. Perfect competition arises
when consumers and producers of a product are price takers. This means they have no power to
influence the market price. However, this is not a realistic proposal because no market is going to be
perfectly competitive. Although the supply demand framework still gives a good estimate for what is
happening in the market most of the time.
To an economists demand refers to both the willingness and ability to pay for a good. When the price
of a good falls, the quantity demanded will fall. This applies to both individuals and whole market
demand. This is known as the law of demand. The relationship between Quantity Demanded (Qd) and
price can be shown in a table (curve). Price is located on the vertical axis and demand is located on the
horizontal. The demand curve will have a negative

Gravedigger Scene Analysis
Shakespeare uses comic relief in many of his plays to give the audience a break from the intense chaos
that often makes up the dramas. He uses the porter scene in Macbeth as comic relief for the murder of
King Duncan and in Hamlet, he uses the gravedigger scene to relieve the emotions felt for the death of
Ophelia. The gravedigger scene is the most well known scene of comic relief in Hamlet, as it serves as
a much needed break in all of the action and it temporarily changes the tone of play, along with
impacting the overall meaning.
The gravedigger scene distracts the audience from the drama and chaos of the play with two
gravediggers exchanging jokes and singing while digging the grave that Ophelia will be buried in. The

Finally, when Hamlet sees Laertes, Gertrude, and the King all mourning over the loss of Ophelia, he
goes crazy and mad. This shift in emotions within Hamlet signifies a shift in the tone of the play. The
once again chaotic tone lets the reader know that more drama is about to partake. Without the comic
relief in the beginning of this scene, the audience would not have been emotionally ready for the fight
between Laertes and Hamlet. The light tone of comedy helped settle the audience s, and give them a
laugh before diving back into tragedy. Comic relief adds an emphasis to the many themes of Hamlet
by preparing the reader or audience for a serious event or tragedy. While Hamlet is in the graveyard
with Horatio they watch as the gravediggers work and dig up skulls from the surrounding area in order
to make room for Ophelia s grave. Seeing all the skulls lying around, Hamlet realizes that death is
inevitable and all men, even the greatest, eventually become dust. This foreshadows Hamlet s death
because he is finally coming to terms with reality that everyone eventually dies and no matter how
great he thinks he is, he will eventually be laid to rest. Although Hamlet doesn t know that the grave is
Ophelia s at first, he asks questions about whose grave it is and the gravedigger replies joking that he
is digging his own grave and then, the grave doesn t belong to a man or a woman because those are

  • 2. How Art Has Changed On The Viewer Rather Than Art Made FINAL EXAM Does Art made in 1400 1900 put greater Demands on the Viewer rather than Art made after 1900? Art is the creative field of study where people use their talents and imaginations to produce visual work of someone or something. Artists usually indicate emotions and special techniques to create harmony and balance within their artwork. Indeed, art has been evolving since the beginning of humanity. But the first visual records can be traced back to the Paleolithic Period that is also known as the Old Stone Age. During the course of history, the meaning of art has shifted immensely. There have been times in history where artists have approached new ways and techniques. Also, new discoveries were made about the importance and true ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Firstly, the Mona Lisa (1503 1506) portrays Lisa di Antonio Maria Gherardini.1 Furthermore, Mona is the short form of Madonna which means Lady . The painting is very unusual since the woman in it is not wearing any jewellery which was signifying wealth at that time. She seems to be a special woman who emphasizes a serene assurance to engage the viewers. Also, her blank facial expression is known as enigmatic .1 The emotions on her face are not very well represented as her character and thoughts appear to be hidden instead of being exposed. There is a lack of kindness in her eyes. Leonardo da Vinci shifted her eyes to the right side so that they look straight at the viewers. This creates a mental density. The woman is shown in the form of a Renaissance Pyramid . Many of the characteristics in the painting are similar to the ones in the Renaissance. Secondly, The Last Supper (1495 1498) was painted on the walls of the St. Maria delle Grazie church in Milan.1 The artist painted a captured scene where Jesus tells his guests during Seder that he will be betrayed by one of them.1 All of them appear to be very shocked about what Jesus was telling them. In other words, this painting is a symbolic depiction of Jesus. He appears to be right at the center of the painting and is shown in a pyramidal form. His guests, who are all males, appear in groups of three. There are four groups of three which appear on either side ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. A Very Brief History Of Beeswax Candles Many candles have been used for hundreds and thousands of years and ever since the 1900 s it has been the only source of light. Present, not many people use candles for their main light source. Some reasons why some people use candles is for decorations, religious ceremonies, and to celebrate other people s birthdays. In past years most candles were made from tallow. Tallow came from cows and sheep, in the earlier times of the Egyptians and the Roman s. These early candles didn t burn well and normally smelled worse. The Roman Empire was the first to provide evidence of a candle that resembles the candle today. They melted the tallow until it was a liquid and poured it over fibers of flax, hemp, and cotton, which were used as a wick. These candles were used in religious ceremonies as well as lighting for their travels and houses. In the earlier ages beeswax was used to make candles. These beeswax candles were made much like the Romans made the candles out of tallow. Beeswax was a drastic improvement from the tallow, but limited quantities were available. This made it expensive, limiting beeswax candles to clergy and the upper class. Today, candles are mostly made from materials such as wax, paraffin wax, beeswax or soy among other products. Some candles are also made from plant waxes or tallow while others are made from a mixture of paraffin and plastic. Most people would say that the size, shape or color would be the most important part of a candle, but most ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. Teaching Assistant Report The fascination and interest in text can be kept up with daily reading sessions. This will spark their interest in decoding words. The teaching assistant will help with these skills including reminding the child or their alphabet and phonic sounds to assist with decoding. Modelling is a key supporting method for learning literacy both with speaking and writing words. In reading to children, the teaching assistant will be showing them how to read fluently and how their voice can help make sense of the text being read. The teacher will plan guided reading sessions where the children are divided into their appropriate reading abilities. In turn, the teaching assistant will give reading instruction to a separate group who will be working towards questioning the text they are reading through comprehension. During these sessions, there will be emphasis on speaking and listening together, and reading and writing together. Later, I moved on to trying to boost her ego, deploying a strategy similar to that of Odysseus when he tells Antinous, you re hardly the worst Achaean here, it seems. The noblest one, in fact. You look like a king to me. (XVII, 458 460) I told her, everyone who goes to your school is smart and I know that you are great at chess . My plan was to uplift her confidence so that she gives the information that I desire. However, Alice caught on to what I was planning to do and retaliated. You re so adorable! And pretty too! I had always wished that Alice had not said what she said, but after seeing how I was wrong, I m actually glad that she said it. At the same time, governments, businesses, organizations, military groups, and terrorist groups are constantly developing new technology in order to achieve a competitive advantage over the rest of the world. These groups use technology like smart phones, computers, and other technology to communicate from remote locations and organize and conduct attacks in different parts of the world, including the United States. In order for the intelligence services of the United States to protect the country from these types of attacks and function effectively, they need to implement operations in secret. One of the most controversial secret activity of the last decade is the national security agency s surveillance program. The surveillance program was authorized by President Busch right after the September 11th 2001 terrorist s attacks. For many years, the national security agency collected and monitored vast amounts of communications data, mainly phone records, from the people living in the United Sates. • 9. How Does Atticus Show Real Courage Q1 I wanted you to see what real courage is, instead of getting the idea that courage is a man with a gun in his hand. It s when you know you re licked before you begin but you begin anyway and you see through it no matter what. (pg. 112)Those are the words that Atticus Finch a lawyer in a small town in Alabama, called Maycomb used to describe what real courage is. For Atticus being a lawyer is fighting for what is right whether if you win or lose. Atticus shows what real courage is in Harper Lee s story To Kill a MockingBird. Atticus is one of many characters in To Kill a MockingBird that shows courage throughout the whole story, such when he defends Tom Robinson in a court case.. Atticus knows Tom is innocent and wants to defend him, since no one else wants to. Like he said to his son Jem Q2 Shoot all the bluejays you want, if you can hit em, but remember it s a sin to kill a mockingbird. (pg.119)What he means by that is that if you know someone hasn t done anything wrong and you do something wrong to them, it s a sin. He shows courage by helping an african american in a court case accused of raping a white woman with the only evidence to help is Tom Robinson s word for it. This shows courage because not many would have taken the task of that difficult case and have to hear what people say about them. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As evidence is weak for specific interventions a number of areas should be addressed, involving ecirly initiation of preventive action, improving tissue tolerance and protecting from the adverse effects of pressure, friction and shear (Calianno 2007). Nutrition and tissue loading are two areas of nursing influence. Strategies to ensure optimal nutrition should be used and the provision of oral nutritioneil supplements has been associated with reduced tissue breakdown (Bourdel Marchasson et al 2000). Thus, the word began to be heard everywhere, from film titles, to inspirational quotes, there s even a children s book series titled Serendipity . There are overlaps between many words in the English language that can be confused with each other. Take fate, for example, being thought of as a supernatural power, it is used to describe events that a person can not control. One may use fate to describe a how perfect a certain couple is when telling a crazy story of how they met. This is not serendipity. Serendipity is when one person is on a search trying to find an answer, or a specific item, and then finding something better and not expecting it. These two terms are used together often to describe how events occurred. A classic example of confusion between the two words is in the movie Serendipity . Fate is talked about more than serendipity is, but serendipity would be a better word to use since each person was trying to buy socks for their significant other but found someone else to love. It s understandable that the word fate could be used, since it was like a force of nature that was trying to pull them back together. If someone feels as if they found something they were not originally trying to find, and it was a better than the first one, that is serendipity. Overall, the main definition of serendipity is different than the many similar words one may originally try to use. Since the origin of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Not all of the ways humans have been affecting the cycle have been negative, but the vast majority have been. One key thing that has human activity that has been disrupting the nitrogen cycle is the burning of fossil fuel. This burning releases carbon into the air at unnatural rate, and thus alters the amount of nitrogen in the atmosphere. This has had far reaching effects that no one first thought of and is now affecting the plant and animals in Acadia National Park. Another human activity that has increased massively over the past few years is industrial nitrogen fixation. This process is used to create fertilizer with high amount of nitrogen in it. ... Information Based Medicine ( Ebm ) A Health intervention is an effort that promotes behaviour that optimizes mental and physical health, or discourages or re frames behaviours considered to be potentially health threatening. So, Evidence based medicine(EBM) is not the only but the best approach to health interventions as it emphasizes the use of evidence from well designed and conducted research in healthcare decision making. EBM is regarded as the gold standard of clinical practice. The term evidence based medicine , as it is currently used, has two main tributaries. Chronologically, the first is the insistence on explicit evaluation of evidence of effectiveness when issuing clinical practice guidelines and other population level policies. The second is the introduction of epidemiological methods into medical education and individual patient level decision making. Evidence based medicine (EBM) is the process of systematically reviewing, appraising and using clinical research findings to aid the delivery of optimum clinical care to patients. EBM is the practice of solving the clinical problems in one s practice by judicious and systematic use of the medical literature. This includes framing questions rightly and searching the right kind of literature. Thereafter, the available evidence needs to be evaluated for the validity, strength and effect size. Ready Player One Paper Rea Scott Lunder May 1, 2013 HT MGT397J Reflection Paper I always heard stories from my dad about how great the 1970s and1980s were but I never could grasp what was so great about it. After interviewing my father about what made the 1980s unique, special, and different, I was really able to make a connection of how identical his description was to the one that took place in Ready Player One. After comparing the similarities between the two, I was also able to make the connection of how different everything is today compared to the lifestyle back in the 1980s. Hippolytus vs. Pentheus Essay Hippolytus vs. Pentheus When arguing the statement, the character of Pentheus in the Bacchae is portrayed as earning his fate, whereas the character of Hippolytus in the Hippolytus is portrayed as an innocent victim of the god, I must both, agree and disagree with it. I would definitely agree with it on a shallow point of view, but would have to disagree with it upon dissecting both the stories. The stories tell of Hippolytus being killed for something he did not do, while Pentheus was killed for not accepting the god Dionysus. But when you look deep into the meaning of each story, the apparent black and white assumptions of innocents and guilt change from definitive to doubt to say the least. When reading the story of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Further along in the story, he ends up blaming Zeus for creating women and he also blames him after finding out about Phaedra s feelings; which seems to me that he was even blaming Zeus for making her become infatuated with him. The infatuation was Aphrodite s doing for lack of worship, not Zeus . So even though Hippolytus did not sin toward Phaedra, he ends up sinning toward Zeus, by questioning his putting of women on the earth and blaming him for something he had no part in, and to Aphrodite by not giving her the respect she thought she deserved. Then if read shallowly, the Bacchae also seems to be black and white, in the fact that the story tells of Pentheus earning his fate. The first step would be when strange things started to happen and the arrest of the stranger, Dionysus. Next, and the most important step in him earning his fate would be that Pentheus rejects the belief of Dionysus. Later on, more strange things happen, namely miracles and now Pentheus and Dionysus meet again, this time Pentheus is unable to reject him and starts to fall under his spell. They then meet for a final time and now Dionysus is in total control and humiliates Pentheus. When the chorus sees this, they invoke the Swift hounds of Frenzy to bring vengeance on Pentheus for failing to honor the gods. Regarding its original purpose as a peace treaty, the Magna Carta was not as effective in 1215 as it became in 1225 under King Henry III. Alzheimer s Disease ( Ad ) Alzheimer s disease (AD) is a disorder that is characterized by degeneration of the hippocampal and cortical neurons of the brain causing memory impairment and a decline in cognitive abilities. The current study by Ghoneim et al.1 focuses on the role of three proteins in the pathogenesis of Alzheimer s. Brain derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) signaling is important for development and maintenance of normal neuronal circuits in the brain. Glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP) is expressed by astrocytes in the central nervous system in response to neuron damage. Ki 67 is a protein that is responsible for detecting cell proliferation. Ghoneim et al. designed their study to explore the effects of caffeine intake on the expression of these proteins in rats induced with AD. Caffeine is hypothesized to have a protective effect against AD for a multitude of reasons. It is believed that caffeine has the potential to reduce amyloid beta accumulation because it is associated with reduced oxidative stress. It could also reduce the effects of the inflammatory response which is a well known trademark of AD. Lastly, caffeine has been identified to have a role in maintaining the blood brain barrier. Previously, it has been suggested that drinking 3 5 cups of coffee per day during midlife is associated with a 65% decreased risk of dementia/Alzheimer s in the elderly. The aim of this work is to answer the question, Can we generalize why certain people were able to survive the Gulag more than others? To survive the Gulag, many prisoners had to fight with others for food, shelter, and simple medical care. Certain prisoners went into religious and intellectual meditations to preserve at least the appearance of intelligence. The survival required willpower, strength of mind, skills, mercilessness, and a lot of luck. Every former Gulag prisoner explained his/her survival as a result of many insignificant strategies. A variety of memoirists claimed that the only reason why they have survived was due to their spiritual life. To distract themselves for the physical sufferings, many prisoners created mental exercises: religious rituals, music, art, cards, chess, and literature. Prisoners used to write and read poetry to each other, told stories, discussed philosophy and history. Under such harsh conditions, the prisoners were required to have an extraordinary imagination. To play cards or paint, they had to use anything that was easy to hide from the regular raids in the barracks. The tree core was used as a canvas and any blood was used as paint. Ross describes DID in this way: In its childhood onset forms, the disorder is an effective strategy for coping with a traumatic environment: It becomes dysfunctional because environmental circumstances have changed by adulthood (1997, p, 62). This formerly rare and disputed diagnosis became popular after the appearance of several best selling books and movies. It is often based on the crudest form of suggestion. This is a staggering number, for a truly remarkable psychological condition. In spite of these statistics these same people believed DID should be a proposed diagnosis, because of skepticism. On the other end of the spectrum of physics is relativity. Now Max, essentially invented Quantum Mechanics and I explained Relativity, well to be more specific, the Special Theory of Relativity. Max, Both quantum theory and relativity are two of the most successful theories that we have ever had. The problem is that they don t play well together. That s right, two theories that are as close to reality as we have ever come to are not compatible with each other. It doesn t make any sense, does it? When you try to apply relativity to the very small scales of the atomic realm, suddenly the mathematics does not make sense any more. Quantities become infinite and predictions go wildly astray. How is this possible? If I could answer that question, I would be preparing my speech for my Nobel Prize ceremony. The thing that makes this amazing is that each theory is so close to describing reality that it is almost inconceivable that it could be incorrect! If either or, indeed, both theories are wrong, it will bring about a complete revolution in our understanding of reality. Albert, I agree with the assessment that physics requires a great deal of imagination, but this imagination is in a straitjacket. This means that you cannot imagine anything you like. What you theorize must also conform to everything we already know. In other words, any new theory must not only explain the new ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 33. Donald Trump Effect Donald Trump Have you ever heard of Donald trump? If not he is a 70 year old man born June 14, 1946 in Queens, New York City. He is a Republican running for president in the election of 2016. I believe he has had a positive effect on the election because I don t think he s just doing it for the money and that he speaks the truth about what the changes the United Sates needs. The first reason I think Donald trump would be a good president is because he speaks the truth and is honest about what he wants to do to change America. For example, Trump wants to build a wall on the boarder of United States and Mexico so illegal immigrants can t come into America and commit crimes and not pay taxes because the government doesn t know that they are illegal ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The reason I think that is because he already has a lot of money, for jobs, he is a business man, television personality, author, investor, politician and more. All together he makes 8.7 billion dollars. The president makes $400,000 per year, therefore I believe Trump isn t dong it for the money because the president makes a lot less than what he does. Some people such as Muslims, Mexicans, and Democrats might think that Donald Trump has had a negative effect on the presidential election because they might think he says and does mean things to people. But what he wants to do is fix America by, strengthening the army, shut down parts of the internet where Isis can not us it to recruit American people. And provide more funding for police training and a lot more. In my opinion he s saying what should be done to make America better than what it is now. In conclusion I think that Donald Trump has had a very positive effect on the presidential campaign he speaks the truth and is not just doing it for the money. He has said everything he wants to do to make America great again and I believe the that is what he will do if he becomes the president of the United ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 35. What Is Demand Model Of Supply And Demand Supply and demand is a model for understanding the determination of the price of quantity of a good sold on the market. The explanation works by looking at two different groups buyers and sellers and asking how they interrelate. The supply and demand model relies on a high level of competition, meaning that bidding can only take place if there is a high amount of buyers and sellers in the market. Buyers bid against each other and thus raise the price, while sellers bid against each other and thus lower the price. The equilibrium is a point at which all the bidding has been done; nobody has a reason to offer higher prices or accept lower prices. In this essay I will be critically analysing the supply/demand model in understanding actual world supply, demand and market behaviour. I will highlight this through the aid of diagrams and examples. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This model will work most accurately when there is perfect competition. Perfect competition arises when consumers and producers of a product are price takers. This means they have no power to influence the market price. However, this is not a realistic proposal because no market is going to be perfectly competitive. Although the supply demand framework still gives a good estimate for what is happening in the market most of the time. To an economists demand refers to both the willingness and ability to pay for a good. When the price of a good falls, the quantity demanded will fall. This applies to both individuals and whole market demand. This is known as the law of demand. The relationship between Quantity Demanded (Qd) and price can be shown in a table (curve). Price is located on the vertical axis and demand is located on the horizontal. The demand curve will have a negative ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 36. Gravedigger Scene Analysis Shakespeare uses comic relief in many of his plays to give the audience a break from the intense chaos that often makes up the dramas. He uses the porter scene in Macbeth as comic relief for the murder of King Duncan and in Hamlet, he uses the gravedigger scene to relieve the emotions felt for the death of Ophelia. The gravedigger scene is the most well known scene of comic relief in Hamlet, as it serves as a much needed break in all of the action and it temporarily changes the tone of play, along with impacting the overall meaning. The gravedigger scene distracts the audience from the drama and chaos of the play with two gravediggers exchanging jokes and singing while digging the grave that Ophelia will be buried in. The first ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Finally, when Hamlet sees Laertes, Gertrude, and the King all mourning over the loss of Ophelia, he goes crazy and mad. This shift in emotions within Hamlet signifies a shift in the tone of the play. The once again chaotic tone lets the reader know that more drama is about to partake. Without the comic relief in the beginning of this scene, the audience would not have been emotionally ready for the fight between Laertes and Hamlet. The light tone of comedy helped settle the audience s, and give them a laugh before diving back into tragedy. Comic relief adds an emphasis to the many themes of Hamlet by preparing the reader or audience for a serious event or tragedy. While Hamlet is in the graveyard with Horatio they watch as the gravediggers work and dig up skulls from the surrounding area in order to make room for Ophelia s grave. Seeing all the skulls lying around, Hamlet realizes that death is inevitable and all men, even the greatest, eventually become dust. This foreshadows Hamlet s death because he is finally coming to terms with reality that everyone eventually dies and no matter how great he thinks he is, he will eventually be laid to rest. Although Hamlet doesn t know that the grave is Ophelia s at first, he asks questions about whose grave it is and the gravedigger replies joking that he is digging his own grave and then, the grave doesn t belong to a man or a woman because those are living ...
