Whales Evolution
Did you even know whales ever lived on land? The whales are the biggest animals. They are larger
than the largest dinosaurs. They live in the ocean like other sea creatures, but they almost look like the
land living animals more than the fishes. Furthermore, some scientists believed that around fifty
millions of years ago, the whales probably lived upon the land. There are two significant exhibits from
the two different periods why the scientists astonish about whale s living is familiar to land living
mammals, which are whale s anatomy in this current period and whale s fossil remains of the past.
Firstly, the anatomy of the whales nowadays is one of the significant testimonies to attest that the
whales lived on a land for a very long time ago. According to whale s anatomy, the whales have
placentas for giving birth and have nipples for feeding milk to their young unlike fish that lay eggs for
giving birth. They often nurse their children for two years. After that, their babies begin to eat solid
food. Moreover, they have no gills because they breathe air ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

From the fossil record, the first ancestor of whale name is Pakicetus. They had four limbs function for
walking and no tail fluke. Then they evolved because of in water eating behavior became
Ambulocetus. Ambulocetus still had four limbs, but their hind and tail were bigger and thicker for
supporting swimming functional. The millions of years passed by, Ambulocetus became Maiacetus,
which spent some time on land. However, they still had four limbs, but those were used for walking
and swimming. After Maiacetus period, they developed for several millions of years became Dorudon.
Dorudon was aquatic living totally. They reduced hind limb, became a fluke. Thus, those examples of
the whale s fossil records have supported the assumption of the whale ancestors had four limbs and

The development of social media becomes more frequent in various parts of the world. It makes the
field of public relations experience changes both in the field of theory and practice. The changes are
not directly caused by the presence of social media, but social media offers many opportunities for
public relations practitioners to interact with the public through the adaptation of technology and
integrate it into their daily activities (Curtis, 2010)
Social media is defined as the democratization of content and a shift in the role that made humans in
the process of reading and disseminating information. Social media covers a variety of things that use
internet to facilitate conversation (Solis, 2009). Social media is considered as the ... Show more

Research on the impact of new media on public relations has been conducted by various researchers
abroad, such as study by Wright Hinson. Wright Hinson (2010) in their study found that new
communication media have brought dramatic changes in various aspects in this field. This fact gives a
clear picture of how the field of public relations must have the readiness to be able to adapt to changes
in the new media not to get stuck on the use of traditional media that had given a positive benefit.
Further, Weber (Wright Hinson, 2010) suggests that the world of communications is dramatically
shifted towards the digital and anyone who understands this transformation will be communicating
more effectively than those who do not understand.
Various forms of social media like podcasts, blogging, and video iPod are considered effective for
communicating with stakeholder organizations, both public and private. They are able to reach a broad
audience in a personal and continuous way to make media has an important value (Wilcox, 2006).
One of the significant changes in the field of public relations which is clearly visible is on the rules of
old and new press releases. Scott (Wright Hinson, 2010) explains that in the old press release, no party
who sees press releases in addition to editors, reporters and there is only one way to make a lot of
parties learn the contents of the press release, which is when the media

The Endocrinology Of Male And Female Reproduction
Reproductive physiology is comprised of many tightly coordinated functions of the endocrine system
including the hypothalamus, pituitary and reproductive organs whose dynamic function plays several
critical roles in growth and development as well was reproduction. The hypothalamic pituitary
gonadal axis plays a critical role in the development and regulation of the reproductive system. These
tightly regulated functions within the pituitary must respond to continuously changing signals from the
central nervous system gonads and provide the quick responses. The hypothalamic pituitary gonadal
axis is comprised of major hormones, including gonadotropin releasing hormone (GnRH), luteinizing
hormone (LH) and follicular stimulating hormone (FSH) and operate through both positive and
negative feedback loops in mammals.1 When toxicants affect any part of this axis s function, either by
altering cellular activity or the signals themselves, the physiology can impacted by immediate and
downstream effects. An understanding of the endocrinology of male and female reproduction, is
required to understand how toxicological effects can have severe consequences on reproductive
physiology.
GnRH is a prominent reproductive hormone that is produced in neural cells in the hypothalamus.
GnRH is secreted into the bloodstream where it is carried downstream to the pituitary gland and
activates the Gonadotropin Releasing hormone receptor. 2 Once these cells are activated, signal

Views on Teens Pregnancies Through the Years Essay
The Views on Teens Pregnancies Through the Years
There are many different attributes to teenage pregnancy. The majority of teenagers do not realize the
consequences of their actions. Taking that into consideration the influences of the teens are highly
important during the pre teen stage all the way to adult hood. During the time of this impressionable
stage many of the teens are having sex not because of love, but because it is a trend. The media is
glamorizing teen pregnancy and leading to a cultural shift. Around the world teenage pregnancy has
been an issue. Many of the teen mothers are between 15 and 19. There have been a variety of attempts
to provide a decline in teenage pregnancy such as: abstinence groups, the Federal Government, ...

Not only does the media influence young women, but their home life has huge impact too. Most
children learn by watching an adult around them and there is their influence. Therefore the media is
not the only one to blame for teenage pregnancy. There are many people and things that can be
blamed, however, there is a root to the problem. Not only is it teenage pregnancy impacting teens; but
it impacts everyone around them. In the United States taxpayers pay around $11 billion on teen
pregnancies a year because of someone else s mistake( Editorial: Brings Blessings). In America there
are many births in a year affecting many people around the nation. Since 1996 abstinence programs
have collected over $1 billion in federal funding. Many people blame the abstinence programs for
higher birth rates. People believe that teens should have sex education in order to protect them from
teen pregnancy(Gulli 40). There goes more money from the government toward teenage pregnancy. It
is believed that abstinence programs are not the solution to preventing teen pregnancy, however,
people would like too see more sex education being taught to young impressionable kids. This show
that the Christian view of abstinence is not the popular solution that people choose, but being educated
and being taught about sex is a better approach. In todays society there has been a cultural shift in
beliefs and morals. Many girls are having sex simply because of the words I love

Benefits Of Building And Regain Employees Trust
After 15 years of taking great pride in leading people, I fear these skills may no longer be required or
valued. As globalization and advanced technology challenges the world as we know it, I can t help but
think I ve become a dinosaur. It s disheartening to feel this way that companies no longer care about
their employees and only see them as expenses rather than assets. Building a strong team where
people trust and respect each other seems to no longer be a priority or even a thought among
managers. I say managers, because managing and leading people are two very different things. So the
question is, will we be able to build or regain employees trust; is it even something companies care
about anymore?

I wish I could dismiss this as a rare case, but the truth is that the longer I stay in this environment, the
more this is becoming the norm. Dedicated colleagues who always gave a 110% are now telling their
peers: I don t know; we don t do that anymore; I can t help with that; and so on. Really what they are
saying is I ve stopped caring. What s more concerning is that this type of behavior is not unique to one
company, it is widespread.
Newspapers are riddled with stories of deceit and deception from leaders in both the commercial and
government sectors (Wilson, 2009, p. 12). The article raises the growing issue and challenges leaders
face with disengaged employees and high turnover rates; and turnover isn t cheap. For those
concerned with the bottom line, it s important to know that the cost of turnover is estimated to be
equivalent to an entire year s salary of the employee who left, not to mention the cost of lost
productivity, absenteeism, and increased health costs. Wilson also indicated that research by Gallup
and other organizations indicate employee disengagement is costing companies billions of dollars
every year (as cited in Wilson, 2009). Average employee tenure is less than five years, and for
millennials less than three (Morgan, 2015).

Military Ethos In The Army Essay
According to Military 1 TD (2010), The Army ethos is based on the qualities portrayed by a great
number of gallant warriors in Malaysian history since the Malacca Sultanate, throughout World War II
and the Emergency, and right up to the most recent UN missions. They invariably exhibit magnificent
warrior ethos of the Malaysian soldier, identifiable, yet unchallenged. Similarly, the following ethics
will be further nurtured, developed and drilled into all members of the Malaysian Army so that it
remains a force to be reckoned with. These are summarised as follow:
a. Belief in God. Belief in God is the main pillar of the Army ethos. This entails the highest

Clinical Outcomes And Outcomes Of Alzheimer s Disease...
The empirical paper, on which this critique is based on (Pagan et al., 2016), aimed to assess the safety,
pharmacokinetics, clinical outcomes and biomarkers of Nilotinib (a tyrosine kinase inhibitor) in
advanced Parkinson s disease (PD), Parkinson s disease with dementia (PDD) and dementia with
Lewy bodies (DLB). PD Subject selection was based on diagnosis of PD in accordance with the UK
Brain Bank Diagnostic Criteria. 12 subjects were assigned to either 150mg (n = 5) or 300mg (n = 7)
groups at random and were orally administered Nilotinib daily for 24 weeks with a 12 week follow up.
Measurement of exploratory biomarkers were completed at regular intervals, as were motor and non
motor symptoms using the Unified Parkinson s Disease Rating Scale (UPDRS). The Mini Mental
State Examination (MMSE) and Scales for Outcomes in Parkinson s Disease Cognition (SCOPA Cog)
were also administered for the measurement of dementia. The authors conclude suggesting
improvements in symptoms of PD and dementia occurred. The following critique however, will focus
solely on PD. Critique Although the study provides valuable information by adding to what is known
about the pharmacokinetics, efficacy and safety of Nilotinib in PD, there are some flaws in this
research. First, the basis for this study is the assumption that Nilotinib, being a c ABL inhibitor
(Manley et al., 2010), can prevent the build up of neurotoxic substrates in the brains of PD patients,

Effective Use of Dialogue in The Sacrifice of Isaac Essay
Effective Use of Dialogue in The Sacrifice of Isaac
In the Brome version of The Sacrifice of Isaac, the suspense created by the emotionally charged
dialogue is likely what kept the audience s attention. While it is incredibly likely that the audience
knew the entire story, the emotional flavor of the dialogue, such as Abraham s innocent expressions of
his love of and thankfulness for Isaac at the beginning of the play, is bound to evoke a certain concern
for the characters which dims the audience s foreknowledge of the tale s happy ending. It is much the
same principle that modern television scriptwriters use to hold viewers attention through a series; the

The playwright is open with regards to God s reason in asking for the sacrifice of the most useful and
beloved of Abraham s sons. As He says in lines 33 34, I schall asay now his good will, / Whether he
lovith better his child or me. In other words, God is jealous, an emotion that I find badly suited to an
omnipotent deity, but that the Old Testament emphasizes as one of God s primary motivations.
When the angel first tells Abraham of God s wishes, Abraham states that he has never begrudged God
anything, and although it pains him greatly, he will not begrudge God the sacrifice of his son. When
he makes this speech, it appears that Abraham is accepting his fate with a brave face and a pounding
heart, hoping that his bold acceptance of something he obviously feels is wrong will cause God to
back down from his request. At this point, the audience, too, stands with brave faces and pounding
hearts, waiting to hear God s acknowledgement of Abraham s acceptance. I certainly found myself
mimicking Abraham s stance, gripping my book in the delicate but powerful hold of one who is
anxious and uncertain. Will God go through with it? I asked myself, unable to peel my eyes from the
pages and realise that I knew how this story was constructed. I imagine that the sensation is even
stronger if the play is watched instead of read.

Organizational Culture And Its Cultural Culture
To greet each other in Tibet, you stick out your tongue and put your hands together in front of your
chest. In Japan, it is only polite if you bow to each other when greeting. There are hundreds of
different ethnic groups in the world and they all have their own customs and traditions that stemmed
out from their underlying culture. Similar to these ethnic groups, each organization also have their
own unique culture that guides how people behave and what people believe in within the organization.
In formal terms, organizational culture is the set of values, norms, guiding beliefs, and understandings
that is shared by members of an organization and is taught to new members. [p.332; Organization
theory Design; Daft, Armstrong] Put it in simple terms, it is basically how the employees in a
company are expected to behave and go about their daily business. Organizational culture can be
observed in visible artifacts and employee behaviors such as symbols, slogan, the way people talk, the
way people dress, and even the atmosphere at the workplace. These visible artifacts and observable
behaviors reflects the deeper values and beliefs of each member of the organization which in turn
represents the true culture. I have the privilege to be working for TD Canada Trust for the past two

The Books Of Matthew And 1 Corinthians
Hermeneutical Matthew and 1 Corinthians The books of Matthew and 1 Corinthians are mainly
focused around love and what that is supposed to look like through Christ. Starting with Matthew, it
begins by walking us through the birth of Jesus and all of the events that took place during and after. It
also talks about his baptism and specifically that John the baptist was who performed it. After
everything about Jesus early life is introduced, it jumps straight into his preaching. Chapter four of
Matthew is where it really begins to talk about Jesus work. Not only does it introduce us to his
preaching styles, but it also quickly introduces Satin who seems to follow Jesus around for a while
attempting to cause problems. Matthew chapter four tells you right off the bat what is about to take
place. The first verse says, Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the
devil. (NIV Matthew 4:1). At this point, Jesus had fasted for forty days and forty nights, and the first
temptation form the devil was food. He says, ...If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become
bread. (NIV Matthew 4:3). Jesus of course rejects his temptation and the many more that followed.
After these events took place, Jesus leaves to begin his preaching. In doing so, he also chooses his
disciples while walking along the Sea of Galilee. Jesus took his disciples with him through Galilee and
began his preaching there. He healed the sick and suffering, and also performed

TPP Vs Nafta
After five years of negotiations, the United States and 11 other countries signed the Trans Pacific
partnership. The tpp is a deal that is to promote trade through out nations and will remove tariffs,
promote competition and create more opportunities for businesses. President Barack Obama argued
that tpp will create new jobs by opening up foreign markets for exporting goods and set minimum
standards for working conditions in the 11 other nations, leveling the playing field in the global
market. The tpp is a bad trade deal as it will cost the United states thousands of jobs and hurt the
economy.
TPP is very similar to Nafta which was a free trade deal signed by the Clinton foundation in 1993.
682,000 jobs were lost since Nafta was signed by bill clinton. This shows Nafta was a failure as the
trade deal was supposed to create jobs not lose them. Now TPP is a very similar deal as it s based on
the same concept. As there really isn t many differences, the TPP would be a repeat of the Nafta trade
deal. This causing jobs for the working class citizens of the united states. Nafta proved that these trade
deals are unsuccessful, and TPP is just another free trade deal that will hurt the United States. ... Show

The Challenges, Solutions, Models, Tools And Tools
Introduction
This paper presents a systematic literature review of the challenges, solutions, models, tools and an
example in Distributed Software Development (DSD). The objective is to collect and systematize
reported knowledge in terms of what are the difficulties in managing DSD projects, what are the best
practices to overcome these difficulties, and how existing models and tools support these practices.
The DSD is a phenomenon with considerable interest from companies all over the world where the
stakeholders from different national and organizational cultures are involved in developing software.
As part of the globalization efforts currently pervading society, software project team members have
become geographically distributed. However, DSD is technologically and organizationally complex
and presents a variety of challenges to be managed by the software development team. [1]
As distributed environments have become the norm for software development, coordinating the efforts
of development teams has become one of the biggest challenges faced by the enterprise today. It is
hard to imagine any sizable development project managed without an underlying software
configuration management tool.Teams situated at different geographical locations, including offshore,
collaborate using communication technologies to develop interrelated software modules that are
integrated in shared project workspaces. The software design process involves many iterative cycles of

International Law is Divided into Private and Public
The term of International law first used by Jeremy Bentham in his Introduction to the Principles of
Morals and Legislation, later Hugo Grotius who is a one of the prominent intellectual figure in Europe
lead to concept of the modern framework for international law. According the United Nations,
international law is defined as the legal responsibilities of States in their conduct with each other, and
their treatment of individuals within State boundaries. In addition to the U.N. definition, along with
the States non governmental organizations (NGO) and individuals go on to became a subordinate
subject of international law, too. International law divided into two parts as private international law
and public international; however, general usage of the international law refers to public international
law. Through my Fulbright independent research project, I hope to deepen and strengthen knowledge
on International law and then especially I would like to specialize academic studies in international
humanitarian law (IHL). The range of subjects and actors directly concerned with international law
has widened considerably and the realm of international law encompasses various fields such as
human rights, international crime, refugees, migration, problems of nationality, the treatment of
prisoners, the use of force, and the law of war environment, trade and economic issues, air and space

Blade Runner is more of a film noir film than The Matrix . Although it does include action and

which makes it unusual for women to be strong and powerful. The world war influenced film makers

U.s. Congress And The United States Congress
Under the first Article in the Constitution, the U.S. Congress is the first branch and is also known as
the most important representative body of the world. They are among the other few national
representative bodies that acquire powers of governance. The U.S. Congress is made up of two
chambers, The House of Representatives and The Senate. The two most important powers given to
any government are the power of force and the power over money, and the U.S. Congress has the
authority over the two. They have a lot of power in their hands (Lowi, 130). As mentioned before, the
U.S. Congress is made up of two chambers the House and the Senate that is provided by the
constitution as a bicameral legislature. They each cater to different constituencies. The House is
known to be more responsive to the people and the Senate is responsive to the elite. They both are
elected directly by the people. Four hundred thirty five of the members of the U.S. Congress are apart
of the House and one hundred of the members are apart of the Senate (Lowi, 136). Can you imagine
having to make compromises and decisions on thing with five hundred thirty five people? I can

The Adlerian Theory Essay
The Adlerian Theory Alfred Adler was the founder of Adlerian Counseling. He was born in 1870 in
the country of Austria. who gave his theory the name Individual Psychology, because he wanted
people to see that his theory and methods were designed to help clients help themselves. He believed
that everyone had and internal need to be a part of society, and a desire to contribute to that society.
That everyone strives for perfection, and everyone initially feels inferior to everyone else. He believed
that when that feeling is not overcome, inferiority complexes develop, and if a person tries to
overcompensate for inferiority, the develop superiority complex. The biggest emphasis Alder placed

That only children like being the center of adult attention, often have difficulty sharing with siblings

should function primarily as a teacher and model for the client. That they should have a health

Adler, was to learn why clients think and behave the way they do; by gathering information about the
clients family and their early memories. Then the counselor should share his or her interpretation of
the client and try to build a restorative relationship. Adler s goals for the client were to help them

of supervision that you adapt, and that safety requirements outlined by Ofsted determines supervision
to be adapted at all times of children in my care primarily in the following activity areas;

3) GENERAL SUPERVISION
General supervision would be when you are aware of what the child is doing and checking on them
regularly. This may be interpreted as keeping an attentive eye from a distance e.g when children are
playing on a carpet or when a baby is sleeping. The element of danger when adopting close
supervision would be less than in the other two levels of supervision.
Once the required level of supervision has been determined, it is important to consider the following
disciplines in order to ensure safe supervision and to make all other family members aware of them
also.

Negative Images In Technicolor
Television has been used for decades to shape the human psyche. It has also played a major role in the
development of American lives, and at times we fail to notice. People are sheep. TV is the shepherd.
(Jess C. Scott, Literary Heroin (Gluttony): A Twilight Parody). Often times we use television as an
escape route, a tube to pull us away from the pains of our true reality, but what are we escaping? TV is
a hypnotic box of propaganda, used to program American morals and values. Negative images in
Technicolor has blurred the lines of our perceptions. TV is the piece of technology developed to
control the minds off the masses through social, economic, and political order.
Since the inception of television, obesity rates have increased dramatically ... Show more content on

It s a world where Hollywood can make you believe anything, even that you are free. It s a world in
which the prosecutor and the judge share the same side of the bench. The most obvious reason that our
minds are being controlled on a massive scale psychologically, is because our culture has been
conditioned by the television, radios, and newspapers. We are given world reality through a screen,
some ink, or radio waves. The truth is hiding in plain sight. The indoctrination through these mediums
warns us that views other than those presented by them are unimportant and too be condemned. This
presidential administration and media monopoly have a carefully crafted dehumanization program for
anyone that dissents the official version of events. If you choose to travel the road to the truth, then
you must be prepared for the obstacles that await you. You may be condemned or criticized by your
family, your friends, your lovers, even your co workers. This is their programming that began at birth
that is doing exactly what it s supposed to do. We have to be mentally stronger than past generations.
We must realize that there is a reality that exists outside of this controlled artificial

Thomas Jefferson Accomplishments
The outcomes of the Revolutionary war paved the way towards an expansion of territory sought out to
respect civil liberties by outlawing slavery , reforming the education platform and is considered one of
the most important legislative acts of the confederation congress. Thomas Jefferson was a key player
as he created a vision with an empire based on principles novel at the time. On July 13, 1787 the
Northwest Ordinance came into place, a new legislation which expanded the original 13 states
westward not only acquiring land, but provided a framework for educational organization and political
incorporation in the new territories. All it took was a proposition, an idea by a Virginia delegate by the
name of Thomas Jefferson. Thomas Jefferson was born on April 13, 1743 in Shadwell, Virginia into a
wealthy and distinguished family. Jefferson served his country for over five decades, he was a public
official, philosopher, historian and even a plantation owner. His interests in law led him to serve the
local government as a magistrate, county lieutenant and as a member of the House of Burgesses. Some
of Thomas Jefferson s major accomplishments and contributions include , but are not limited to the
Louisiana Purchase in 1803 , his support towards the Lewis and Clark Expedition, abolishing, the
slave trade, his views on what is now called the Northwest Ordinance and of course, his presidency.
Throughout his lifetime, it is more than clear that he has created a legacy not only for

Character Analysis Of Hippolytus
The play Hippolytus was written by Euripides, the same writer as the play in Medea. In some ways,
this is a story of lies and misunderstandings. I don t really have a character that I liked the most, I
thought that Hippolytus, Phaedra, and Theseus all have different good and bad, likeable and unlikable
traits. At the first part of the play, we are introduced to Aphrodite. She is the goddess of love and
something. In her introduction, she also mentioned the part of the problem which cause all the event to
start. Aphrodite took notice on one of the mortals who disrespects her greatly Hippolytus, who said
that Aphrodite is was the worst of all gods. Hippolytus, who vowed to himself to never marry a
woman, worships the virgin goddess Artemis instead. But what fuels Aphrodite s anger is that
Hippolytus has no disrespect for the goddess of love. As a god, I think this is a great insult to their
power, especially to an Olympian gods and gods whom are loved by many. Because of that, Aphrodite
decides to punish Hippolytus and started her plan. Next, enter Hippolytus, the child of Theseus and the
Amazonian, Hippolyta. In the beginning, Hippolytus doesn t seem to be an arrogant man, he seemed
to be an honorable and honored the gods properly, mainly Artemis. But, when the goddess Aphrodite
was mentioned, his distaste of women started to peak out of the cover. But I think his point of view
comes from spotlighting the negative things of women. When the Nurse went against the Queen s
wishes, Hippolytus mentioned how stupid women wouldn t be so much trouble while smart women
(maybe like Medea) would go behind their husband s back and plot some things while the servant
execute the plot. Other characteristics of Hippolytus that made him such a likeable character in the
play was that he is an honorable man. After the horrifying fact given by the Nurse, and the accusation
from his father of defiling Theseus marriage bed, Hippolytus still kept his oath to stay quiet. Even
when he was exiled and his reasoning were all rejected Hippolytus goes willingly. Phaedra is
somewhat the main victim of the play, even though it can easily be argued that Hippolytus is the main
victim. From the reading, I think Phaedra s main fault was to

John Wilson Quotes
Many readers infer that John Wilson is a homeless man in the short story, Zebra, by Chaim Potok, but
this claim has been proven otherwise throughout the story. This quote proves that John Wilson is, in
fact, not homeless: The sender was John Wilson, with a return address in Virginia (Potok 60). The
reader can assume from this quote that John Wilson does occupy a home due to the fact that there was
a return address labeled on the envelope. In the story, Zebra also realizes that John Wilson is not a
hobo because he notices the return address in Virginia on the large brown envelope. This quote is
another piece of evidence that displays that John Wilson does have a home: I leave it near his name for
a few hours, and then I take it to my studio

Pip s Internal Pacifist Struggles Essay
Dickens introduced Pip as a child, an element essential to the understanding of Pip s internal
moralistic struggles. The establishment of young Pip makes the audience view Pip as an innocent and
honest person. Children are often deemed to be more honest and simple than adults. When Pip first
encounters the convict, the appearance of him scares Pip out of his mind. The man threatens Pip to
bring him a few items otherwise he will go after his family. He also tells Pip to not tell a soul about
him or he will be hurt as well. What Pip fails to realize is that the convict is cold, as he has been
soaked in water (10), and hungry, which was made clear when he ate the bread ravenously (11). Not
only that, the convict can barely walk correctly since he has a limp. Putting all of it together, the
convict is in no shape to be chasing after Pip and his family to harm them. Because Pip is an innocent
child, he cannot put those clues together and obeys the convict out of fear anyway. Pip has had a
strong sense of morals since a young age. After the incident with the man in the marshes, the guilt of
the idea of lying to Joe, his step brother who has always treated him with affection, bites his
conscience. Pip refers stealing from Joe, and Mrs. Joe, his sister, a guilty knowledge (19). It shows
that Pip does not like stealing from them, no matter how badly Mrs. Joe treats him and his moralistic
standards. He got the job done and brought the requested items to the man. Once he got

Thomas Kuhn s Theory Of Scientific Discovery
The reason someone writes is in order to try and get a message or an idea across. For some topics its
easier than others, but when you re trying and prove the whole idea of discovery wrong it may be
more difficult. Thomas Kuhn writes Historical Structure of Scientific Discovery in an attempt to try
and convey his message that the timeline role of discovery is wrong. He denies the idea about how
some discoveries are misleading and make it seem they were found in a single moment. When you
write you must assume that anyone can read it, so you have to keep your audience in mind. Different
articles of science will bring in all kinds of readers. Not only was he writing to historians and
scientists, but to the general public, so he needed to structure his writing to appeal his audience. Kuhn
starts his project by letting readers know his purpose, he denies the idea of how an individual made a
discovery at any moment. He opens up the reading to show what he finds wrong, so the reader can
begin to paint a picture in their head. He gives his opinion on discovery and writes what he believes to
be true. He makes an attempt to put the reader in his place and see things from his input. When a
writer is able to put a reader in their shoes it becomes easier to perused them. What s different about
Kuhn s writing is the way he structures it. He breaks up topics into different subcategories each having
a subtitle. He lists off examples of discoveries that help to prove his point such as:

MTV Arabia will experience the following issues with Arab culture: MTVs own international culture
is one that is quite western. Arabs do not simply classify western as American Western is west of
Arabia, including Europe in addition to America. For this reason MTV will need to reshape its cultural
appeal and, as it has already done, include a vast majority of strictly Arab shows rather than European
or American shows. MTV Arabia will need to match the Arab culture in its personal approach and
need to reach the people where they are. They will not simply flock to the channel. Going to schools
and shopping centers to raise awareness is huge. Due to the level of personal focus of the Arab people,
MTV will also need to include itself in social programs and focusing on social problems.

Personal Narrative-Satan s Spawn
Satan s Spawn
Ever since we were little, my sister and I never got along. I was the blonde haired, blue eyed, goody
two shoes, while my sister was the tall, broad shouldered, aggressive little girl who made sure to
always get her way. I remember the first time meeting her. I was three years old with pigtails and
bright pink ribbons in my hair. I held my baby sister in my small, delicate arms for the first time. I was
eager to go home and play with her. Little did I know, that sixteen years later we would become bitter
enemies.
My sister and I were three years apart, even though it felt like three millennials apart. My sister s
stubborn, headstrong personality learned to be a problem. My sister, Lauren was black or white, no
grey. We would also get into never ending arguments about frivolous, meaningless things. Arguments
could go from whether I stole a certain sweater, to who gets to kill the spider in the bathtub. Her
stubborn personality drove a wedge between us early on.

made it hard for her family and friends to love on her. Lauren and I now get along much better. We
have both grown up and it made us realize the reasons we were fighting were silly. Nowadays, we can
go to get dinner or go shopping with one another without biting off the other s head. I am very proud
of my little sister and the amazing, strong young lady she has become. She is still close minded and it
is still very tough for her to see situations for over people s points of view. I love my sister, despite her
stubborn and irritating ways. I would be lost without

Native Americans have many stories and objects to tell stories to other generations. The headdress had
a very important part in the story of how the Native Americans survived the fight for this land. The
fight between the Indians, Cougars, and Vikings was a great battle in Georgia history that is not well
known to many people except the remaining descendants. A very long time ago, before the land was
claimed by anyone, the Indians had found the land. For much time they had suffered from other
violent wars with Native tribes and were forced to abandon their land to avoid more war. The land was
perfect for them; it was big enough for agriculture and homes. They went to gather supplies to build

  • 2. Whales Evolution Did you even know whales ever lived on land? The whales are the biggest animals. They are larger than the largest dinosaurs. They live in the ocean like other sea creatures, but they almost look like the land living animals more than the fishes. Furthermore, some scientists believed that around fifty millions of years ago, the whales probably lived upon the land. There are two significant exhibits from the two different periods why the scientists astonish about whale s living is familiar to land living mammals, which are whale s anatomy in this current period and whale s fossil remains of the past. Firstly, the anatomy of the whales nowadays is one of the significant testimonies to attest that the whales lived on a land for a very long time ago. It makes the field of public relations experience changes both in the field of theory and practice. The changes are not directly caused by the presence of social media, but social media offers many opportunities for public relations practitioners to interact with the public through the adaptation of technology and integrate it into their daily activities (Curtis, 2010) Social media is defined as the democratization of content and a shift in the role that made humans in the process of reading and disseminating information. Research on the impact of new media on public relations has been conducted by various researchers abroad, such as study by Wright Hinson. Wright Hinson (2010) in their study found that new communication media have brought dramatic changes in various aspects in this field. This fact gives a clear picture of how the field of public relations must have the readiness to be able to adapt to changes in the new media not to get stuck on the use of traditional media that had given a positive benefit. Further, Weber (Wright Hinson, 2010) suggests that the world of communications is dramatically shifted towards the digital and anyone who understands this transformation will be communicating more effectively than those who do not understand. Various forms of social media like podcasts, blogging, and video iPod are considered effective for communicating with stakeholder organizations, both public and private. They are able to reach a broad audience in a personal and continuous way to make media has an important value (Wilcox, 2006). • 5. The Endocrinology Of Male And Female Reproduction Reproductive physiology is comprised of many tightly coordinated functions of the endocrine system including the hypothalamus, pituitary and reproductive organs whose dynamic function plays several critical roles in growth and development as well was reproduction. The hypothalamic pituitary gonadal axis plays a critical role in the development and regulation of the reproductive system. These tightly regulated functions within the pituitary must respond to continuously changing signals from the central nervous system gonads and provide the quick responses. The hypothalamic pituitary gonadal axis is comprised of major hormones, including gonadotropin releasing hormone (GnRH), luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicular stimulating hormone (FSH) and operate through both positive and negative feedback loops in mammals.1 When toxicants affect any part of this axis s function, either by altering cellular activity or the signals themselves, the physiology can impacted by immediate and downstream effects. An understanding of the endocrinology of male and female reproduction, is required to understand how toxicological effects can have severe consequences on reproductive physiology. GnRH is a prominent reproductive hormone that is produced in neural cells in the hypothalamus. GnRH is secreted into the bloodstream where it is carried downstream to the pituitary gland and activates the Gonadotropin Releasing hormone receptor. 2 Once these cells are activated, signal transduction ... The majority of teenagers do not realize the consequences of their actions. Taking that into consideration the influences of the teens are highly important during the pre teen stage all the way to adult hood. During the time of this impressionable stage many of the teens are having sex not because of love, but because it is a trend. The media is glamorizing teen pregnancy and leading to a cultural shift. Not only does the media influence young women, but their home life has huge impact too. Most children learn by watching an adult around them and there is their influence. Therefore the media is not the only one to blame for teenage pregnancy. There are many people and things that can be blamed, however, there is a root to the problem. Not only is it teenage pregnancy impacting teens; but it impacts everyone around them. In the United States taxpayers pay around $11 billion on teen pregnancies a year because of someone else s mistake( Editorial: Brings Blessings). In America there are many births in a year affecting many people around the nation. Since 1996 abstinence programs have collected over $1 billion in federal funding. Many people blame the abstinence programs for higher birth rates. People believe that teens should have sex education in order to protect them from teen pregnancy(Gulli 40). There goes more money from the government toward teenage pregnancy. It is believed that abstinence programs are not the solution to preventing teen pregnancy, however, people would like too see more sex education being taught to young impressionable kids. • 7. Benefits Of Building And Regain Employees Trust After 15 years of taking great pride in leading people, I fear these skills may no longer be required or valued. As globalization and advanced technology challenges the world as we know it, I can t help but think I ve become a dinosaur. It s disheartening to feel this way that companies no longer care about their employees and only see them as expenses rather than assets. Building a strong team where people trust and respect each other seems to no longer be a priority or even a thought among managers. I say managers, because managing and leading people are two very different things. So the question is, will we be able to build or regain employees trust; is it even something companies care about anymore? Employees come to work ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I wish I could dismiss this as a rare case, but the truth is that the longer I stay in this environment, the more this is becoming the norm. Dedicated colleagues who always gave a 110% are now telling their peers: I don t know; we don t do that anymore; I can t help with that; and so on. Really what they are saying is I ve stopped caring. What s more concerning is that this type of behavior is not unique to one company, it is widespread. Newspapers are riddled with stories of deceit and deception from leaders in both the commercial and government sectors (Wilson, 2009, p. 12). The article raises the growing issue and challenges leaders face with disengaged employees and high turnover rates; and turnover isn t cheap. For those concerned with the bottom line, it s important to know that the cost of turnover is estimated to be equivalent to an entire year s salary of the employee who left, not to mention the cost of lost productivity, absenteeism, and increased health costs. Wilson also indicated that research by Gallup and other organizations indicate employee disengagement is costing companies billions of dollars every year (as cited in Wilson, 2009). Average employee tenure is less than five years, and for millennials less than three (Morgan, 2015). The empirical paper, on which this critique is based on (Pagan et al., 2016), aimed to assess the safety, pharmacokinetics, clinical outcomes and biomarkers of Nilotinib (a tyrosine kinase inhibitor) in advanced Parkinson s disease (PD), Parkinson s disease with dementia (PDD) and dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB). PD Subject selection was based on diagnosis of PD in accordance with the UK Brain Bank Diagnostic Criteria. 12 subjects were assigned to either 150mg (n = 5) or 300mg (n = 7) groups at random and were orally administered Nilotinib daily for 24 weeks with a 12 week follow up. Measurement of exploratory biomarkers were completed at regular intervals, as were motor and non motor symptoms using the Unified Parkinson s Disease Rating Scale (UPDRS). The Mini Mental State Examination (MMSE) and Scales for Outcomes in Parkinson s Disease Cognition (SCOPA Cog) were also administered for the measurement of dementia. The authors conclude suggesting improvements in symptoms of PD and dementia occurred. The following critique however, will focus solely on PD. Critique Although the study provides valuable information by adding to what is known about the pharmacokinetics, efficacy and safety of Nilotinib in PD, there are some flaws in this research. First, the basis for this study is the assumption that Nilotinib, being a c ABL inhibitor (Manley et al., 2010), can prevent the build up of neurotoxic substrates in the brains of PD patients, thus improving symptoms (Karuppagounder ... • 10. Effective Use of Dialogue in The Sacrifice of Isaac Essay Effective Use of Dialogue in The Sacrifice of Isaac In the Brome version of The Sacrifice of Isaac, the suspense created by the emotionally charged dialogue is likely what kept the audience s attention. While it is incredibly likely that the audience knew the entire story, the emotional flavor of the dialogue, such as Abraham s innocent expressions of his love of and thankfulness for Isaac at the beginning of the play, is bound to evoke a certain concern for the characters which dims the audience s foreknowledge of the tale s happy ending. It is much the same principle that modern television scriptwriters use to hold viewers attention through a series; the main characters, who can t die because they are needed for next week s ... As He says in lines 33 34, I schall asay now his good will, / Whether he lovith better his child or me. In other words, God is jealous, an emotion that I find badly suited to an omnipotent deity, but that the Old Testament emphasizes as one of God s primary motivations. When the angel first tells Abraham of God s wishes, Abraham states that he has never begrudged God anything, and although it pains him greatly, he will not begrudge God the sacrifice of his son. When he makes this speech, it appears that Abraham is accepting his fate with a brave face and a pounding heart, hoping that his bold acceptance of something he obviously feels is wrong will cause God to back down from his request. At this point, the audience, too, stands with brave faces and pounding hearts, waiting to hear God s acknowledgement of Abraham s acceptance. I certainly found myself mimicking Abraham s stance, gripping my book in the delicate but powerful hold of one who is anxious and uncertain. Will God go through with it? I asked myself, unable to peel my eyes from the pages and realise that I knew how this story was constructed. I imagine that the sensation is even stronger if the play is watched instead of read. Similar to these ethnic groups, each organization also have their own unique culture that guides how people behave and what people believe in within the organization. In formal terms, organizational culture is the set of values, norms, guiding beliefs, and understandings that is shared by members of an organization and is taught to new members. [p.332; Organization theory Design; Daft, Armstrong] Put it in simple terms, it is basically how the employees in a company are expected to behave and go about their daily business. Organizational culture can be observed in visible artifacts and employee behaviors such as symbols, slogan, the way people talk, the way people dress, and even the atmosphere at the workplace. These visible artifacts and observable behaviors reflects the deeper values and beliefs of each member of the organization which in turn represents the true culture. • 12. The Books Of Matthew And 1 Corinthians Hermeneutical Matthew and 1 Corinthians The books of Matthew and 1 Corinthians are mainly focused around love and what that is supposed to look like through Christ. Starting with Matthew, it begins by walking us through the birth of Jesus and all of the events that took place during and after. It also talks about his baptism and specifically that John the baptist was who performed it. After everything about Jesus early life is introduced, it jumps straight into his preaching. Chapter four of Matthew is where it really begins to talk about Jesus work. Not only does it introduce us to his preaching styles, but it also quickly introduces Satin who seems to follow Jesus around for a while attempting to cause problems. Matthew chapter four tells you right off the bat what is about to take place. The first verse says, Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. (NIV Matthew 4:1). At this point, Jesus had fasted for forty days and forty nights, and the first temptation form the devil was food. He says, ...If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread. (NIV Matthew 4:3). Jesus of course rejects his temptation and the many more that followed. After these events took place, Jesus leaves to begin his preaching. In doing so, he also chooses his disciples while walking along the Sea of Galilee. Jesus took his disciples with him through Galilee and began his preaching there. He healed the sick and suffering, and also performed ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 24. Character Analysis Of Hippolytus The play Hippolytus was written by Euripides, the same writer as the play in Medea. In some ways, this is a story of lies and misunderstandings. I don t really have a character that I liked the most, I thought that Hippolytus, Phaedra, and Theseus all have different good and bad, likeable and unlikable traits. At the first part of the play, we are introduced to Aphrodite. She is the goddess of love and something. In her introduction, she also mentioned the part of the problem which cause all the event to start. Aphrodite took notice on one of the mortals who disrespects her greatly Hippolytus, who said that Aphrodite is was the worst of all gods. Hippolytus, who vowed to himself to never marry a woman, worships the virgin goddess Artemis instead. But what fuels Aphrodite s anger is that Hippolytus has no disrespect for the goddess of love. As a god, I think this is a great insult to their power, especially to an Olympian gods and gods whom are loved by many. Because of that, Aphrodite decides to punish Hippolytus and started her plan. Next, enter Hippolytus, the child of Theseus and the Amazonian, Hippolyta. In the beginning, Hippolytus doesn t seem to be an arrogant man, he seemed to be an honorable and honored the gods properly, mainly Artemis. But, when the goddess Aphrodite was mentioned, his distaste of women started to peak out of the cover. But I think his point of view comes from spotlighting the negative things of women. When the Nurse went against the Queen s wishes, Hippolytus mentioned how stupid women wouldn t be so much trouble while smart women (maybe like Medea) would go behind their husband s back and plot some things while the servant execute the plot. Other characteristics of Hippolytus that made him such a likeable character in the play was that he is an honorable man. After the horrifying fact given by the Nurse, and the accusation from his father of defiling Theseus marriage bed, Hippolytus still kept his oath to stay quiet. Even when he was exiled and his reasoning were all rejected Hippolytus goes willingly. Phaedra is somewhat the main victim of the play, even though it can easily be argued that Hippolytus is the main victim. From the reading, I think Phaedra s main fault was to ... The establishment of young Pip makes the audience view Pip as an innocent and honest person. Children are often deemed to be more honest and simple than adults. When Pip first encounters the convict, the appearance of him scares Pip out of his mind. The man threatens Pip to bring him a few items otherwise he will go after his family. He also tells Pip to not tell a soul about him or he will be hurt as well. What Pip fails to realize is that the convict is cold, as he has been soaked in water (10), and hungry, which was made clear when he ate the bread ravenously (11). Not only that, the convict can barely walk correctly since he has a limp. Putting all of it together, the convict is in no shape to be chasing after Pip and his family to harm them. Because Pip is an innocent child, he cannot put those clues together and obeys the convict out of fear anyway. Pip has had a strong sense of morals since a young age. After the incident with the man in the marshes, the guilt of the idea of lying to Joe, his step brother who has always treated him with affection, bites his conscience. Pip refers stealing from Joe, and Mrs. Joe, his sister, a guilty knowledge (19). For some topics its easier than others, but when you re trying and prove the whole idea of discovery wrong it may be more difficult. Thomas Kuhn writes Historical Structure of Scientific Discovery in an attempt to try and convey his message that the timeline role of discovery is wrong. He denies the idea about how some discoveries are misleading and make it seem they were found in a single moment. When you write you must assume that anyone can read it, so you have to keep your audience in mind. Different articles of science will bring in all kinds of readers. Not only was he writing to historians and scientists, but to the general public, so he needed to structure his writing to appeal his audience. Kuhn starts his project by letting readers know his purpose, he denies the idea of how an individual made a discovery at any moment. He opens up the reading to show what he finds wrong, so the reader can begin to paint a picture in their head. He gives his opinion on discovery and writes what he believes to be true. He makes an attempt to put the reader in his place and see things from his input. When a writer is able to put a reader in their shoes it becomes easier to perused them.
