Nucor Weaknesses
Nucor Corporation is the second largest steel manufacturer in the United States. Nucor s approach to
steel production and steel products is predicated upon drastically undercutting both foreign and
domestic competition, risk taking, and visionary thinking. Nucor launched the steel mini mill industry
in the late 1960s (Reference for Business, 2017). Since then, mini mills have increasingly edged the
large mix steel companies out of most steel markets and led by Nucor in the late 1980s. Nucor s is
headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina. Nucor have made a bold entry into the flat rolled steel
market, which a lot of manufactures use, and the last domain of big steel. Nucor has remained
profitable and a great growth rate in the difficult field and in a virtually non growth industry. It is also
striving to supplant U.S. steel as the nation s number one steelmaker by ... Show more content on

Some of their strengths are Nucor s unique management philosophy and Nucor s innovation. Nucor s
management philosophy really helps bring the best out of their workers. They allow their workers to
make decisions in the work place. Workers also have their wages connected to their productivity and
receive far higher wages than the average in their state. Nucor avoided laying off their employees
during 2008 and seek alternative means to control labor cost and this has helped loyalty with their
workforce. Nucor does a great job of staying ahead of the industry. Its innovation is years ahead of
their competitors. They stood at the front of the mini mill technology (UKessays, 2015) which
changed the industry for good and the new technology is always studied to help ensure that Nucor
stays ahead of the competition.
Weakness
Nucor may have some great strengths, but they also have their own weaknesses. Their two weaknesses
are exposure to fluctuation in price of scrap steel, and lack of market

I Attended The Hugh O Brian Youth Leadership Seminar
In June of 2015, I attended the Hugh O Brian Youth Leadership Seminar North Florida at Florida State
University in Tallahassee, Florida. The four days I spent at that seminar were some of the most
defining moments of my adolescent life. The Hugh O Brian Youth Leadership Seminar, or HOBY,
provides an opportunity for youth leaders to build their leadership skills in an open and accepting
environment while tackling taboo topics such as climate change, terrorism, pollution, and racial
profiling. The seminar is the reason why I have taken up such a distinct passion for youth leadership
as well as the belief that leadership development in our youth is one of the most important of the
diverse methods to building a brighter future. Therefore, for my service project I helped put together
the 2016 Hugh O Brian Youth Leadership Seminar at Florida State University and served on staff to
ensure the same opportunity that I had just a year ago was provided to the new ambassadors. This
2016 HOBY seminar spanned from Wednesday, June 1st, 2016 to Sunday, June 5th, 2016 well
surpassing the time requirement for this service project.
Service Provided
The need that I addressed for not only the Ocala community, but North Florida as a whole, is filling
the gap for youth leadership programs and providing youth leadership development for a diverse set of
students based on the Social Change Model of Leadership. Hugh O Brian Youth Leadership is an
international organization with a staff comprised

Saddle Bags Essay
Saddle bags are a great addition to your saddle. From its original leather material, saddle bags are now
made out of synthetic material. There are different kinds of Saddle bags that can fit your needs.
An important part of the equine track, since the first saddle was invented, is a saddle bag. It is a great
addition to your saddle. Since there are things that a person likes to carry with him, saddle bags are
good for:
* water bottles
* rain coat
* cell phones and others
Saddle bags are originally made from leather. At current, equine saddle bags are made out of synthetic
material. Examples of these synthetic materials include:
* Condura Nylon
* Canvas
Some nice looking saddle bags available have soft linings on the backside. An example of a soft lining
saddle bag is the Fleece. Soft lining bags are used in order to prevent the bag from chaffing your
horse. With this, you can consider how much load you want to take before choosing a saddle bag for
your horse or mule. Of course, choose the one that best fit your needs. ... Show more content on

Aside from this, it is made from 1,000 denier nylon with two sizes and six colors. The western
saddlebags of TrailMax are also durable. You can use machine wash on it.
For the trail rider, a Synergist Saddles saddle bag is appropriate for the conventional look. It comes in
large or small sizes. It can fit with any Western or endurance saddles made by any manufacturer.

Goeth In Schindler s List
In Schindler s List, Goeth is a Nazi, who is in charge of a concentration camp. He was born to hate the
Jews and has no mercy towards them. He shoots them off his balcony, at random, showing that he has
no disregard for their lives. When he comes to take charge of the concentration camp he lines up all
the women to pick one as his cleaning lady. He picks Helen by chance and she begins her job. Helen
tells Schindler that the first night she was working, Goethe beat her. He beat her even harder when she
asked him why she was being beaten. Throughout the war, and movie Goethe starts to develop feeling
towards Helen. Helen thinks that someday he will shoot her. Schindler can see Goethe mixed feeling
towards Helen and know that he will not because

Child Support In California
Just like every state, California has guidelines in their statutes that outline the what, where, how, and
why of child support. The primary purpose of child support in Riverside, California is to do just that;
support the child financially in order to provide for their needs. As far as the courts are concerned, that
means whatever is in the best interest of the child (children).
The basics of what is included in California Family Code 4053:
The father and mother s most important and first obligation is to provide support for their child.
The child support obligation is mutual, consistent with what is in the best interest of the child, and is
calculated according to the income of both parents.
A minor child has the right to share in the standard of living which both ... Show more content on

Likewise, child support may also reduce the imbalance in the standard of living for each parent.
California s cost of living is quite high and child support is ordered to reflect that fact.
California law surmises that the custodial parent, or the parent who contributes the most significant
amount of parenting time already contributes a significant amount of money and resources to support
the child. This factor can be rebutted depending on the circumstances.
California s guidelines for child support are intended to reduce litigation and conflict between parents.
The best interest of the child is the state s first priority regarding child support and the overall care of
the child.
Do these guidelines work as the legislature intends?
The goals of the statues regarding child support in Riverside, California are to prevent conflict
between parents, provide insurance that the child will have their needs met, and again, primarily
ensure their best interests are covered.

The Fall Of The Roman Republic
Tiberius and his brother Gaius were regarded in Roman tradition as the initiators of the revolution
which led to the breakdown of the Republic. (Roebuck, 1966:506) The fall of the Roman Republic
occurred during the late second century BC and resulted in various leading figures emerging such as
Tiberius Sempronius Gracchus. Tiberius Gracchus was largely responsible for creating and initiating a
long term political crisis in Rome in the early first century through his land reformations and desire to
aid the poor. However, his intentions led not only to political arguments but violence within Roman
society. This will be demonstrated through the analysis of ancient sources, discussion of the historical
context, Tiberius Gracchus motives, actions and contribution to the fall of the Roman Republic. Much
has been written about Tiberius in both modern and ancient sources, although some are divided on his
motives while others strive for his selflessness. Orosius, an ancient source concerning the Roman
Republic stated that Tiberius was angry with the nobility because of the Numantine Treaty, decided
that the land possessed hither to by private individuals, should be divided amongst the people, and this
caused him to reform against the Senate (Bishop, 1988). There are a trio of vital ancient sources
reliable on the breakdown of the Republic. Cicero, Appian and Plutarch. Cicero is one of the few that

Unbiased And Neutral Perspectives Essay
In a world that filled with disputes and disagreements, it is somehow difficult to describe a conflicting
event in a neutral tone based on one s own judgment, typically for those historians who attempted to
examine the events occurred in the past. As a matter of fact, people s perspectives may be influenced
by many conditions such as their cultural identities, genders, religions, emotions etc. Therefore, it is
more likely that historians tend to hold biased view that may affect their tone in neutrality. However,
to what extent can historians, or more generally the people, learn the history from an unbiased and
neutral perspective? In general, as long as people equally analyze the view points from both sides and
take the position between ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Eventually, the war resulted in the split of Korean territory into North Korea and South Korea, and the
United States withdrew their troops. In fact in many cases, the United States withdraws their military
force and ceases the war is because of the objection within the domestic citizens, due to a weary of
costing human lives and national expenses, not that the United States don t have the strength to battle.
If this event was described by an unbiased outsider, then it is more likely to be: The Koreans started a
civil war, then split into North and South, and each side gained its own supporters or allies, and
eventually the war was ceased.
Not surprisingly that the Chinese and the North Korean began to spread the rumors that the United
States was defeated and was kicked out of Korea. Furthermore, the Chinese described their action in
assisting the North as revolting Americans, supporting North Koreans, protecting North Korea from
the invasion of United States. While they might have their own perspectives but it is obvious that the
truth was twisted and the neutrality of tone was distorted.

controversial battle with the involvement of the United States. This war was followed by the First

Personal Narrative On Mats
Slam! Smack! My body hit the mat. I stood up and SMACK, I got slammed to the mat . It was
freshman year. I was wrestling a senior who I could quite literally fit inside of. Only two of my
teammates had won their matches so far. I was determined to win, unfortunately for me the other kid
was significantly better than me. In the final minute of the match I was slammed down inconceivably
hard and my head smashed against the mat. I like to call it the slam heard round the world . Just then, I
felt a click on the back of my head, like a light switch being flipped on. I got incredibly frustrated with
myself for allowing such an injury to occur. I jumped up to my feet and I wrestled has hard as I
possibly could. In my head it felt like the fog that clouded my mind since the start of the match just

took us all into the the locker room and started yelling at us. He said how terrible we were and how we
embarrassed him and AHS in general. As he did this my spirit just went farther and farther down into
my stomach. I felt like I was going to throw up. Then he stated something that changed how I was
thinking. He said It s crazy that I have to rely on a one hundred and eighty two pound freshman (me)
to go out on the mat and get out wrestled but still keeping trying and pushing to win . After he said

Evidence for the Biblical Flood
And God said to Noah, I have determined to make an end of all flesh, for the earth is filled with
violence through them. Behold, I will destroy the earth. Make yourself an ark... (Genesis 6:13 14,
English Standard Version) For behold, I will bring a flood of waters upon the earth to destroy all flesh
in which is the breath of life under heaven. Everything that is on the earth shall die. (Genesis 6:17,

alive with you. They shall be male and female. (Genesis 6:19, ESV) Noah did this; he did all that God

(1995 2013) Finally, many evolutionists use the Grand Canyon as proof for millions of years, but
evidence shows it actually formed from the overspill from two post Flood lakes. (Creation Today, n.d.)
Obviously, all of this evidence creates major problems for evolution, but is fully explained by Noah s
Flood. One of the biggest pieces of evidence for the Flood is the Cambrian explosion. The Cambrian
explosion is taught by evolutionist to be a sudden burst of evolution caused by an increase in favorable
environments. An evolutionist article states, Fossils provide solid evidence that organisms from the
past are not the same as those found today; they show a progression of evolution... The resulting fossil
record tells the story of the past and shows the evolution of form over millions of years. For example,
scientists have recovered highly detailed records showing the evolution of humans and horses.
(Evidence of Evolution, n.d.) In reality the fossil record shows that there was a sudden and nearly
simultaneous appearance of all known phyla as well as species from the most distant parts of the
family tree during the Cambrian period, instead of a gradual evolution. (Wieland, n.d.) (Wise, 2009)
Fossils have been found worldwide in Precambrian rocks, but they were too bizarre and different

The Decline Of Western Culture
Schaeffer Critique
Purpose of Text and Intended Audience The purpose of the book is to discuss the decline of Western
culture by analyzing history from his perspective from Rome to his present day (the 1970 s). Schaeffer
(2005) presents the idea that to redeem society Christians must live as God desires and completely live
by the Bible s teachings of morals and values. The intended audience would be Christians, because the
entire tone of the book comes from a Christian worldview. Although, non believers may read the book,
they may not glean insights from it like believers.
Thesis and Bias Schaeffer s (2005) thesis was on how we should live now by understanding our
history and culture through philosophical, scientific, and religious knowledge. Throughout the book
Schaeffer (2005) displays bias because the book is written from a Christian perspective. Therefore, the
way history is presented is skewed due to his Christian intent.
Theoretical Assumptions and Issues One of the first concepts Schaeffer (2005) explores in the book is
the significance of peoples presuppositions of Western history. Schaeffer (2005) believes that
everyone has presuppositions and that they are gained through our family, peers, and our culture. His
issue is that Western Civilization is declining and tracing history can shed light on why and how we
should live to reverse the effects (Schaeffer, 2005).
Historical and Current Issues and Implications
The book begins in Rome. Schaeffer (2005)

The Amygdala Neural Study
The interpretation of stress is believed to occur in the cerebral cortex of the brain based upon sensory
and other input (such as from chemo receptors). The two categories of stress act through somewhat
different neurological mechanisms, but the general features are similar. Cognitive processes are
involved in the assessment of the input for both categories as to whether the input represents a
potential threat in a routine manner. The amygdala appears to have a central role in the stress response
[46, 47]. Amygdala neurons release corticotropin releasing hormone (CRH) which has two major
effects: it causes the brain stem (including the rostral ventrolateral medulla) to stimulate the
sympathetic nervous system (SNS) through spinal nerves, and ... Show more content on

begin the process of collecting ambulatory blood pressure data, the monitor is first initialized via a

to a mercury column or gauge by taking simultaneous auscultatory measurements on the study subject.
There are two ways to determine what the specific conditions are during each individual ambulatory
blood pressure measurement. The first is through direct observation. Specifically, a person other than
the study subject continuously watches and records, either in a journal or electronically, the extant
conditions when the monitor goes off. The second method involves having subjects self report the
ambient conditions in a diary. Specifically, subjects write down or input in a computer the various

The Evolution Of Optical Networks
Optical network is designed to transmit digital signals in the form of pulses of light. Optical fiber is
used as medium for transmission. Optical fiber is a thin, flexible, transparent fiber (glass or plastic)
that acts as a waveguide to transmit light between the ends of the fiber. Optical fiber consists of a
central glass core surrounded by a cladding layer whose refractive index is slightly lower than the core
index. Such fibers are generally referred to as step index fiber to distinguish them from graded index
fiber in which the refractive index of the core decreases gradually from center to core boundary.
Working principle for transmission is total internal reflection (TIR). Figure 1.1 Light propagation in

In such kinds of optical networks, both the traffic passing by and ending at a node is converted from
the optical domain to the electrical domain and switched electronically to an output port (including a
port that can drop traffic locally). Following electronic switching, the traffic passing by a node is
converted back to the optical domain before departing from the node. With the increase in data
transmission rate, electrical switching and optical electrical optical (OEO) conversion result in a
significant growth in complexity and cost for electronic devices. Therefore, reducing the burden
placed on the underlying electronic devices in a node and removing electronic switching for traffic
passing by a node became key factors in the development of second generation optical networks. The
switching and processing of bits were, however, handled in the electronic domain as before.
1.2.2 Second Generation Optical Networks
These networks were made capable of using multiple carrier wavelengths that were multiplexed onto a
single fiber thus offering increased bandwidth. The technique is called wavelength division
multiplexing. From technological point of view, incorporating the switching and routing functionality
in the optical domain and allowing for the transparency of data format, protocol and bit rates are the
achievements of second generation over

Essay For The National Honor Society
I am deeply honored to be among the exemplary students who are being considered for the National
Honor Society. I must admit that this is something that I have been looking forward to since the
beginning of my high school career. I believe that this organization does great things in society and
that I can play a part in furthering the impression that is made. I like to think that I deserve this honor
and this chance because I have worked very hard to get here.
During the summer after ninth grade, I worked at my father s company, AAE, located in Livonia.
There I took leadership in starting a new project. In 2011, my father s business received 8A

was a 3 year contract for 5 million lanyards. My father had the choice to sub contract the order to
another company, but this would result in decreased profit. I encouraged my father to complete the
order in house because this would nearly double profit. While my father and other employees

The Value Of A Liberal Arts Education
Aspects of recent debates about the value of a liberal arts education, its usefulness and its
appropriateness strike a familiar and disturbing historical chord. Recently in English class, my peers
and read and discussed an article titled, Why We Need Liberal Arts written by Joseph R. Urgo from
The Baltimore Sun. This article is about the importance and value of a liberal arts education. Liberal
arts are college or university studies (as language, philosophy, literature, abstract science) intended to
provide chiefly general knowledge and to develop general intellectual capacities (as reason and
judgment) as opposed to professional or vocational skills Society may say that college is a waste of
time and money, but is it really? Some people ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I believe that we live in a world that is scared of what society will think. People should act on how
they feel, not what they think will be accepted by others. When deciding whether or not to go to
college, don t base your decision on what your friends are doing. Don t ditch college just because your
friends don t want an education. By not participating in college, we can easily get stuck in the past. By
not learning and evolving, we ll just stay the same, we won t grow and we won t evolve as a whole
community. The author makes a good point by stating, Such passions should be nurtured, not

because we need as much education as we can get in order to stay

Gender Norms In The Media
Media is defined as any form of communication; however, the term is mainly used for television,
radio, and the Internet. Regardless of the form it takes, media holds the power to construct and reflect
our own sense of identity, in both affirmative and detrimental ways (199). In American society, the
media makes many assumptions based on gender, race, and religion that directly affects how people in
a society view each other. Media creates many assumptions on the female gender that generates
people s views on femininity.

One religion that contains bias from the media is the Amish. Amish settlements have become a cliché
for refusing technology. Tens of thousands of people wear identical, plain, homemade clothing,
cultivate their rich fields with horse drawn machinery, and live in houses lacking that basic modern
spirt called electricity (Rheingold 221). The media takes a very sophisticated belief into an assumption
that suggests that Amish do not use technology at all. Another religion that contains bias from the
media is Islam. According to the media, Islam is a religion associated with terrorism. This media
assumption is based on the, emergence of the self proclaimed Islamic State group (ISIS) which
allegedly shows videos of the beheadings of their prisoners who are most often journalists (Espiritu).
This has caused people to use the terms Muslim and Terrorist interchangeably. Not all Muslims who
associate with Islam are terrorists. For example, Malala Yousafzai, a Muslim, is the youngest Nobel
Peace Prize winner and an education activist. Media also makes assumptions on the religion for Jews,
Judaism. Jews are often interpreted as incredibly prosperous, cheap, and unkind. In truth, Jewish
people can be wealthy or poor, intelligent or less intelligent, kind or otherwise (Media Portrayals of

can be used in the development of a prodrug delivery system. The advantage of this scheme over the
other oxime and hydrazone ligations is that the ligation proceeds very fast near the neutral pH(that is
the pH of the normal physiological body) and the product of the HIPS ligation is showing very long

Relationship Between Expectations And Price Movements Essay
Motivation My motivation to look closer into the relationship between expectations and price
movements comes from my trading experience within the forex market. For the past two years, I have
been trading live within the forex market, with two years prior to this paper trading. What attracted me
to the forex market rather than the many other markets available to trade independently was the high
volatility and the opportunity to profit from it. However, as I quickly learned during my period of
paper trading this volatility would cause me to incur more losses than profits. Since then I ve adopted
a more conservative trading style which is mainly oriented around technical analysis. However, I m
still quite interested in the immediate and often drastic price movements which happen when news is
released. My primary goal of this paper was to understand and possibly adopt new elements into my
trading strategy to become a better trader.
Empirical framework
Setup
I will be analyzing the effect expectations have on price movements within the foreign exchange
market. In order to estimate this, a few key variables are required: price, forecasted, previous and

Safford Unified School District #1 V. Redding
Safford Unified School District #1 v. Redding Facts In Safford Arizona school on October 8th,

girl possessed prescription strength 400 mg ibuprofen and 200mg naproxen. While attending math,
assistant principle Kerry Wilson entered the classroom and instructed Savanna Redding s to his office.
Upon entering, she immediately noticed her planner placed on his desk. However, what she didn t

They stated that search measures used by school officials to root out contraband must be reasonably
related to the objectives of the search and not excessively intrusive in light of the age and sex of the
student and the nature of the infraction. Concurring Opinion and Joining Judges Justice Souter
delivered the opinion of the Court saying that the search did violate Savanna Fourth Amendment right
because no drugs were suspected to be concealed in her bra and underwear so they had no reason . The
judge felt the school officials were not liable and entitled to qualified immunity because school
officials were just trying to prevent drugs distributed throughout the school. Justice Ginsburg also had

British East Indi A Period Of Political Stability
After a period of political stability in United Kingdom, the government began colonizing all different
areas of the world. Some places such as, the Americas, the Caribbean, Africa and southern Asia were
all very common places for colonization not only just for United Kingdom but the rest of Europe.
Beginning in the 1700 s the British started to gain economic relationships with India. The British East
India Company set up a massive trading network and thrived off of an abundance of resources and
highly demanded goods that they found in India. Indian cotton, silk, peppers, spices, and indigo were
extremely successful in European trading markets. This success in the trading markets fueled English
interest in India and led to expansion into mainland India. Weak Mughal rule allowed for the British
East India company to gain more control and political power in their colonies. After a period of harsh,
militaristic rule from the trading company, the sepoys fought back to re establish Indian political
control and to rid India of the British. Queen Victoria sent troops to fight the rebellion and
successfully put it down. This led to more and more British politicians sent to India to rule and to
encourage western education and religion. Series of nationalist movements occurred to help bring
back Indian culture. These movements never caught on with Indian civilians until the mid to late 20th
century. British rule left India in shambles and caused political instability after their

Comparison and Contrast between American and Indian...
Fasting and Feasting is a novel written by Anita Desai that narrates the story of the protagonist, Uma,
and her family s life. The novel is divided in two parts. Part one deals with Uma s life in India until
the tragic death of her cousin Anamika, and part two tells the story of Uma s brother, Arun, as he
spends his summer with the Pattons, a typical American suburban family. Throughout the novel, Desai
explores the theme of family life and uses the novel s two settings, America and India, to compare and
contrast the values and customs that constitute each respective culture s family life. At first glance,
American and Indian families are foils of one another because of the relationships between the family
members that composed them. As ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This quote is an example of how in Indian society, even a distant relative can exert life changing
influence on a person. On the contrary, in the Patton s family life there seems to be no influence
coming from extended family members. The limited time frame in which Arun lives with the Pattons
does not provide extensive insight of the family s life. Because of this particular way that Desai chose
to write about the Pattons, the reader is led to believe that affiliations with extended family are
inexistent in the American family s household.
The consolidated nature of Indian families gives extended family members the power to have great
influence over their younger relatives. If this aspect of Indian family life holds true, then it is natural
for parents to have a colossal amount of influence over their children. In the Indian culture, parents are
a symbol of unquestionable authority and the unmovable force of their household. We can see that
Indian children are educated

Nazi Germany, The Islamic State Of Iraq And Syria Essay
Imagine a country that is run by insane government officials with a military consisting of blood crazed
and psychopathic soldiers who conquer land by force and murders anyone that does not agree with
their values or beliefs. You might think that this thought could be the center of a suspenseful film, but
sadly this is a case that takes place right now in reality. One could compare these actions to Nazi
Germany, Fascist Italy, or the Soviet Union but those countries are long gone and are not committing
such crimes today. Right now, at this moment, today s Nazi Germany is the Islamic State of Iraq and
Syria. The Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, more commonly known as ISIS , is the country that is
committing war crimes, violating international law, and promotes rape and sexual slavery today at this
very moment. Therefore, I believe it is the United States duty and moral obligation to launch a full
scale military ground force to fight and eliminate all forces of the Islamic State. People in the United
States may wonder how the problems of genocide, rape, and sexual slavery in the Middle East
committed by the Islamic State affect them. The fact that citizens of the United States wonder how the
problems in the Middle East pertaining to the Islamic State affect them is a valid thought to ponder
about being that most of us have always lived in a safe, secure, and civilized society and environment
that the thought of any of problems such as genocide and sexual slavery happening

Thus, Zara gets more customers in the store as the target market will be drawn to this mall because of

Eve s Apology In Defense Of Women By Salve Deus Rex Juadeorum
In Eve s Apology in Defense of Women, an excerpt from Salve Deus Rex Juadeorum, Aemilia Lanyer
uses biblical illusions such as the story of Eve eating the forbidden fruit, as well as satirical diction to
convey a message of unjust attitudes toward the female gender. These attitudes express an imbalanced
judgement of women in religious settings, a notion that would continue to be used not only when
alluding to religion, but also in other everyday life events. Lanyer, however, uses this satirical
language to argue that Eve is only to blame as much as the male characters in the story, Adam and
Satan. Since being written in 1611, Salve Deus Rex Juadeorum has interested readers of all kinds due
to its incredible use of feminist diction in several different poems and paragraphs, all of which are
written by a young female author, Aemilia Lanyer. According to Subjectivity and Women s Poetry in
Early Modern England by Lynette McGrath, Lanyer was trying to sway aristocratic dedicatees into a
benevolent membership in a women s community by poetically invoking the attractive and idealized
discourses of maternity, religion and women s nurturing love for each other (page 211). In Eve s
Apology in Defense of Women the reader can recognize this heavy use of religious context to
persuade her audience to grasp this idea of building a women s community via the unjust treatment
reserved in the very first book of Genesis. The first line of the poem, which reads Now Pontius Pilate

verbal refusal for the functional analysis project because it occurs at a higher rate than elopement.

The complete results of the study can be found in the American Medical Association journal. The
study results are criticized by some arguing the accuracy of the numbers. This is mostly because many
countries have different values and most are not openly willing to admit to mental illness. In addition,
other countries do not allow the freedom of speech or public opinion. It is because of these and other
hidden stigmas that vary from country to country researchers believe the numbers reported may
actually be higher. In the United States this is not as great of an issue since mental disorders have been
publicized greatly in recent years. This means there is a strong possibility America might not rank as
high in mental disorders when compared to other countries. One thing all countries studied had in
common is the lack of treatment in serious cases which only make matter worse. Lack of access to
health care is the primary reason for under treatment also most insures do not cover mental health.
Insurance companies have recently given more attention and consideration towards mental illnesses

The Impact Of Louis XIV On France
King Louis XIV and Jean Baptiste Colbert had an important historical impact on France s economy.
Colbert become Finance Minister to Louis XIV in 1665. In the years before Colbert, the previous
minister of finance Mazarin had France in a turmoil of financial neglect and corruption. Over his
lifetime as finance minister, Colbert brought in new measures with Louis XIV to re establish France as
a place of expanding industry and prosperity. Louis XIV was an absolute monarch. After the death of
Mazarin, Louis XIV, expressed his desire to be the sole ruler of France and his own prime minister. It
is now time that I govern them myself. You [secretaries and ministers of state] will assist me with your
counsels when I ask for them. I request and order you to seal no orders except by my command, ... I
order you not to sign anything, not even a passport ... without my command. King Louis XIV 1661
(Spielvogel, 1991, p. 523) When Louis began his absolute rule, he found that years of warfare had
ruined the people s farms and houses. The justice systems were corrupted and irregular. Theft and
murder were incredibly high all over France. Industry and trade were at a standstill and France was
virtually bankrupt (Richardson, 1973, p. 55) . Before his death Mazarin recommended Colbert to
Louis XIV. Colbert had the interests of France at heart and wanted France to be the best economic
power of Europe. (Rothbard, 1995, p. 246) Unfortunately, Nicolas Fouquet, the new financier, stood in

Galtianism And Temperance
Merriam Webster defines temperance as a moderation in action, thought, or feeling; to have restraint.
In the Bible it means being able to master your own desires; to not be puppeteered by your peers, by
the world s offerings, or by your own motives and passions! It is an internal restraint. Galatians 5:22
introduces us to the Fruit of The Spirit and temperance is one of those fruit. Viewing fruit from the
natural sense; we know that fruit is beneficial to the body. Nutritionists have gone as far to categorize
fruit and label some as Super Fruit . These types of fruit have additional health benefits that not all
fruit offer. For example: pineapples are a powerful anti inflammatory, mangos and raspberries are
immune boosters, pomegranates offer more antioxidants than that found in green tea, and strawberries
increase brain health and function. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Paul Revere s Ride By Henry Longfellow Figurative Language
In the poem, Paul Revere s Ride, the author, Henry Longfellow, uses figurative language, and sound
devices to create suspense and tension within the poem. The way he uses the figurative language and
sound devices makes readers want to keep reading to find out what will happen next. In Longfellow s
famous poem he uses devices such as rhyming, rhyme scheme, and repetition to allow the readers to
feel fear and push them to the edge of their seats. Some figurative language the storyteller uses is
personification, and similes to compare objects, and fearful moments to something more dramatic.
One way Longfellow makes his readers want to read on is using rhyming words at the end of each line
in a stanza. For example, in stanza 11, lines 104 110, He heard to bleating of the flock/ And the twitter
of birds among the trees/ And felt the breath of the morning breeze/ Blowing over the meadows brown

Strategic Crossroads at Matav: Hungary s Telecom Powerhouse
Assignment 1
What is Matav s Strategy? Has it been successful?
Matav, being the Hungarian Telecommunications Powerhouse, had secured their foothold in most of
the communications market in Hungary, including business services, residential services, Internet and
Mobile. Their parent company Deutsche Telekom wanted them to remain an integrated
telecommunications company. Since their objectives were laid out in front of them, they were facing a
stagnant fixed mobile market in Hungary with the only scope of expansion being the broadband

Matav is a telecommunications powerhouse. It has the infrastructure, the ability, the foresight and the
manpower to match any competition the foreign companies can offer.
Matav is a well established integrated communications company and has footholds in all the four
markets of residential, business, internet and mobile. They already have a lot of customer market in
the Hungarian environment. Familiarity with the local policies, business and customers makes Matav
even more powerful when it comes to dealing with competition. It could add additional services by
implementing new technologies on the current infrastructure to the current customer base and could
also attract a lot of customers by giving bundled service like fixed and mobile or fixed and internet
together.
Do Matav s international expansion plans make sense? Why?
Matav was taken over by a European Telecommunications giant. The line was clear. Since the
domestic market was completely overwhelmed by Matav, the only logical place to expand further was
another European company. Matav is already an integrated telecommunications powerhouse. There is
no new market it can create or develop within its own country to sustain development for it. There has
to be competition and scope for expansion by introducing new technology into third world countries.
This is very attractive when offered at a lower price than your local provider. Matav s international

The Approach Of The Software Artifact Summarization Paradigm
Our approach consists of following steps. First, we collected a corpus of code fragments, containing
127 code fragments, extracted directly from the Eclipse and NetBeans Official FAQs. Second, we
hired human annotators to suggest summary lines i.e., Gold Summary Lines (annotation). Third, we
introduced crowdsourcing (data driven) as a problem solving model in software artifact
summarization paradigm, as it had not been employed before for software artifact summarization, for
extracting code features. Fourth, we trained two classifiers namely Support Vector Machines (SVM)
and Naive Bayes (NB) on code fragments. Next, we evaluated the effectiveness of these classifiers on
different statistical measures such as Accuracy, Precision, Recall, F Score, True Positive Rate (TPR),
False Positive Rate (FPR), Receiver Operator Characteristic (ROC), and Area under curve (AUC). In
the end, we performed feature selection analysis to rank and determine the importance of selected
features. In the sections below, we discuss these steps one by one. 5.2.1 Corpus Creation We need a
corpus of code fragments to train and judge the effectiveness of our classifiers. Optimally, such a
corpus would have been made available before or created by experts in the field of code fragment
summarization. Previously, Ying et al. [94] have collected a corpus of code fragments containing 70
code fragments from Eclipse Official FAQ. Since last year, additional 8 code fragments have been

The Cultural Value Model Of Japan And Japan
The cultural value model that is being used in this outline is Hofstede s Model. Although Japan and
America have quite a few economic and technologic similarities, they contrast in many ways. The
biggest difference between these two countries is Individualism vs. Collectivism. Hofstede himself
finds that both of these cultures differ significantly on most these diminesions (Shah).
PART 1: Compare and Contrast Cultural Values
Power Distance
Power distance in cultures refers to the way that power is distributed between people. It can be
measured by the extent of how individuals within that culture accept who has power and who doesn t.
In places with a lower power distance, individuals act equal regardless of their formal positions. Japan
places much more emphasis on power distance in their culture than America does. This is because it s
a lot more hierarchical. While some individuals in America lack respect for those in higher positions,
this is simply not tolerated in Japan. For example, direct eye contract when speaking to someone who
has more authority is frowned upon in Japan. The differences in power distance between these two
cultures was clear from the movie as every Japanese person knew their role and what was expected
from them. The Americans working in the factory were more selfish and disrespectful towards
management. Insubordination is not tolerated in Japan like it is in America.
Uncertainty Avoidance
Uncertainty avoidance is known as a society s tolerance and

There many different criminal justice systems in the world today. Some that consists of many of the
same policies and some that are considerably different. In the case of France and the U.S. there are a

that I will be comparing are police, courts, the legal profession, legal education, criminal procedural
law, corrections, and juvenile justice and the advantages and disadvantages of each.
The policing system in France is a lot different than the one in the U.S. In France there is one big

In France they have the Constitutional council which has nine members serving a nine year term, they
are responsible for election complaints and the legislation made in parliament. The advantage of this is
that it reduces the conflict of jurisdictions. But the disadvantage is that our Supreme Court has a
longer term than the Constitutional Council which allows more constant laws and fewer laws that will
contradict each other.
The aspect of legal profession and legal education is also extremely different. To become a judge in
France you must first obtain a law degree from a university law school. Next you must gain admission
to the National School for the Judiciary at Bordeaux (Terrill 236). After completing this school, the
candidate is now qualified to become a judge. The French system allows judges to begin their
profession at an early age which could be a disadvantage because of lack of experience in the system,
where judges in the United States are usually older and more knowledgeable.
The legal education is noticeably different from America. In France, students enter a university when
they are approximately 18 years old, after they have completed their high school education with an
award of the baccalaureate diploma (Terrill 242). In America you must go through undergraduate and
graduate law school, and then pass the bar in order to get your law degree. It s an advantage because
students in France start their career a

Grief Scenarios
Introduction.
The question for this reflective journal was to demonstrate how I would assist a patient that has gone
through a traumatic event. Therefore, I have decided to create a scenario to practically show the steps I
would take during each stage of grief.
Scenario
Erin Reuben is a 26 year old female that just finished her degree in teaching. She is a newlywed and
on her honeymoon, she and her husband went horseback riding. She fell off the horse and the horse
stepped on her right leg. The trauma was so severe that they could not save the leg and that she was
amputated roughly 10cm above the knee.

Seeing and hearing that she is still able to achieve great things could motivate her to push forward and
give her the drive to live her life.
Acceptance
This is the final stage of grief. This is when the patient starts to make peace with what happened to
them and they start to move on. Common phrases used are: There is nothing I can do about it so I
might as well make the best of it.
Erin will start to grow accustomed to her life as an amputee. She will start getting into a routine and
become more and more independent. She will still have various struggles in her day to day life but she
would have worked through the traumatic event.
When a patient reaches this stage, it does not mean that their treatment is over. You must always be
available to listen to any problems that the patient needs to discuss. Try to keep an eye on their
emotion and psychological state.
A patient can easily slip back into depression and therefore we as practitioners need to constantly be
vigilant to identify any problems or needs and try to help a patient through

thought it was due to the lack of intellectual ability because they didn t understand the complexity and

Australians all throughout the nation were exposed to the protection legislation which in turn, denied
them of their basic human rights as well as the freedom that was demanded by every other Australian.
Aboriginals were increasingly moved of farms where they worked like slaves and put into government
or church controlled reserves where they were expected to die out (Psychology and Indigenous
Australians, Foundations of Cultural Competence, 2009, pp. 79). On the Australian census at this time,
Aboriginals were still considered as

How Did The Theater Influence Ancient Greek Theatre
Athenian Theater Think of the most memorable and classic television shows, for example, Friends or
Full House. These shows were so important in so many people s lives and even became something
they look up too. The theater in ancient Greece played this same role. Everyone attended the plays that
were performed. The theater had many important aspects including the set up, the audience, and the
actors. These shaped the way these immaculate plays were executed.
The theater was always set up using a very specific format. The plays that were performed, usually
only during late Winter and early Spring, always took place in an open air theater that was built into
the side of a hill. These theaters could seat up to 15,000 people, ( A Trip to the Theatre ). The seats
were set up along the hillside in an arrangement called the theatron, ( Structure of the Greek Theater ).
The stage in itself had many different parts. The orchestra was the main ... Show more content on

The poor were even given money to buy a ticket. There was no specific assigned seating, but all the
people were separated into sections purely based off of their social class. The 500 member Executive
Council of the Assembly was seated close to the stage based off of their importance in society. Many
of the middle to upper class citizens were stamped with a greek symbol that directed them to their
section of seating, ( Structure of the Greek Theater ). These people made up the majority of the theater
meaning most people had the ability to pick specific seats in each section. The audience was primarily
made up of men, but some women were allowed in and had to sit in the back of the theater, ( Structure
of the Greek Theater ). All members of the audience were allowed to shout out if they did not like
something or even throw food at the actors, ( A Trip to the Theater ). The audience was able to have an

The Theory Of Classical Conditioning
Classical conditioning is based on an association between two stimuli and implies that we as
organisms are rather passive in the learning process. Operant conditioning is based on a response and
stimuli (i.e., consequences) that follow that response. Operant implies that organisms operate on the
environment to produce consequences we anticipate based on previous active learning.
Classical conditioning, the association between two stimuli is easily demonstrated in the media. For
example, advertising professionals know that they have to pair their products with something that will
trigger something in the audience. By pairing their products with something that makes people either
happy, excited, or even hungry. They know that people will want to purchase their products. Coca
Cola has been pairing their products with Christmas for years. Christmas naturally makes most people
happy and excited for the holiday season. During the Coca Cola Christmas commercial for 2010, it
starts with Santa running through a parking lot. As it continues hundreds of red semi trucks covered in
white lights appear. Through the trees you catch a glimpse of the Coca Cola label and Santa sitting in
a chair drinking a coke. While Christmas music plays children run to line the road to watch the trucks
pass. As the commercial continues the music gets louder and more lights start to light up with trees.
The commercial then flashes to a father reading a Christmas story to his son while sharing

Essay about Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis
Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis
ABSTRACT
At this time, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis(ALS) is a very confusing and elusive disorder. While the
clinical presentation and diagnosis of ALS dates back to the early 1900 s, with Charcot being the first
to scientifically report and document his findings, there simply has not been definitive evidence since
that time for the etiology for ALS. This fundamental problem has befuddled the most qualified
researchers and its ensuing answer has eluded the most clever experiments for some 80 years.
This paper is being written to address some of the most plausible candidate causes which have come
to the forefront of ALS research in the last few years. This paper will also try to tackle the ... Show

The average age of onset is roughly 60. Even so, much more attention is giving to younger, healthy
individuals who succumb to the disease.
The typical history usually involves early recognition of an onset of clumsiness in the hands and
fingers, with a weakness in the legs soon to follow. There is also bulbar involvement that usually
manifests in problems with speech and swallowing. This bulbar involvement is interesting in that it
may be cytologically distinct from the corticospinal manifestation. The degenerative process itself is
unforgivingly progressive, except for a few permanent plateaus, and for all reasonable assessments,
will yield a fatal outcome. Even so, it should be noted that patients most often do not die from ALS,
but from secondary causes such as infection and pneumonia.
When considering ALS, the relevant question is not what has been proposed as the causative agent,
but what has not been proposed. Over the years, there has been a myriad of theories concerning the
etiology of ALS, some with a valid premise and decent evidence, and others being way off the mark.
Some of the theories that have been advanced include viruses, actions of specific neurotoxins or heavy
metals, failure of DNA repair mechanisms, altered axonal transport, or some type of unusual
autoimmune disease. With a significant volume of scientific literature being devoted to ALS progress
each year, it becomes painfully obvious how confusing it is to extract one or two well

Immanuel Kant And Karl Marx
In an effort to understand progress and its goal in humanity, philosophers Immanuel Kant and Karl
Marx each present their theories with Kant believing progress is made through the reform brought on
by antagonism and social instability in humanity which will ultimately lead to perpetual peace, while
Marx argues progress comes in the form of a worker s revolution and the adoption of true communism
that will lead to utopia. These German thinkers seek to define the guiding the force beneath humanity
s constant state of evolution to understand where it is headed and advise towards a goal they find ideal
for humanity.
Through an analysis of human characteristics, Immanuel Kant concludes progress is driven by
humanity s innate behavior of contempt for one another, which he refers to as antagonism. In Kant s
essay On Universal History , his fourth thesis states, The means employed by Nature to bring about
the development of all the capacities of men is their antagonism in society, so far as this is, in the end,
the cause of a lawful order among men. By this, Kant means that man finds himself in mutual
opposition with his peers, but this opposition, as deemed by nature, is the force driving mankind s
development. According to Kant, man has a conflicting, natural tendency to both associate and isolate
himself from others. The former because society gives him the ability to feel he is more developed
than his individual capacities allow for, and the latter is a consequence of his

Meetings were held between 1815 and 1825 at Aix la Chapelle, Vienna, Troppau, Verona and St
Petersburg. The main aims were to settle disputes by diplomacy and to maintain peace. The main
problems they addressed were France, revolutionary movements, unrest in Italy and Spain, the
Spanish colonies and Greek revolts. Divergence occurred over whether to intervene militarily to put
down revolutionary movements and/or revolts against governments they considered legitimate, and
whether this constituted interfering in the internal affairs of other countries. The treatment of France
did not cause disagreements, but divisions between the powers and opposition, especially by Britain,
to the use of force to support reactionary rule led to the breakdown of the Congress System.
Candidates could decide whether the Congress System was therefore a genuine attempt at unified
policy, and whether its failure to be expected because of the diverse interests and nature of the Great
Powers. Some may comment that it was perhaps a forerunner of the later European Union, and
although there were revolutions there was no major war. [0 to 7 marks] for inadequate or irrelevant
material. [8 to 10 marks] for narrative of the Congress System with implicit focus. [11 to 13 marks]

The City s Love, By Lucille Clifton
The love affair between a city and the people who reside there can be influential in a person s life.
Cities share a relationship with their residents and the residents start to ponder about their emotional
relationship with their homes. In in the inner city by Lucille Clifton, the speaker thinks of uptown and
how different it is compared to her home, the inner city. The speaker sees how unique the inner city is
and takes pride in her home. In The City s Love by Claude McKay the speaker experiences a brief
moment of acceptance by the city. Both Clifton and McKay s poem both illustrate joy towards a city.
The connotation used to describe their joy allows the reader to see the different relationships that the
two speakers have with their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In The City s Love , McKay uses imagery such as similes to depict how appreciative and satisfied the
speaker is. In the first lines the reader can infer that the moment that the speaker is talking about is
uncommon and treasures his experience: For one brief golden moment rare like wine, The gracious
city swept across the line; (l. 1 2). Collaborating his first thoughts to his closing ones The great, proud
city, seized with a strange love, (l. 7) The speaker describes this love as strange and golden because he
was used to the mistreatment in a different far more discriminatory city. This city shows affection
towards him making the speaker forget that he is different from the majority The gracious city swept
across the line; Oblivious of the color of my skin, Forgetting that I was an alien guest, (l. 2 4). Even
though the speaker has experienced hate from another society he ends up finding a city that seems to
give the speaker affection, which reveals the loving relationship the speaker and the city

Invasive Fungal Diseases
Opportunistic invasive fungal diseases are a continuous threat to the immune compromised host and
result in high morbidity and mortality rates. Most of the invasive fungal diseases are caused by
Candida and Aspergillus species, however, other pathogens such as Scedosporium and Fusarium
species may be encountered.(1) The number of antifungal agents available for treating invasive fungal
infections has grown in recent years and now includes mainly three classes of drugs, namely the
polyene group which includes amphotericin B, the azoles, and the echinocandins, each of which has a
specific profile with respect to antifungal activity and toxicity. Therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM)

Multiple factors have been found to be associated with a large variability in voriconazole exposure
following standard dose administration, such as nonlinear saturable pharmacokinetics, patient age (in
particular, with respect to children), liver disease, drug drug interactions, and genetic polymorphism of
the cytochrome CYP2C19.(5) In experimental candidiasis, the ratio of voriconazole peak
concentration and the 24 h area under the curve over the MIC have been identified as the best
pharmacodynamic predictors of treatment success. In contrast, no experimental data are available
regarding the pharmacodynamics of voriconazole for the treatment of aspergillosis or other mycoses.
Recently, experts have suggested that voriconazole trough blood levels should be measured after 1
week of therapy for dose adjustment to target values of 1 5.5 mg/L.(6 8) However, the utility of such
measurements remains debatable, given that multiple confounding factors may influence the outcome
of infection and the assessment of tolerance in severely ill patients. This uncertainty highlights the
need for additional drug exposure related efficacy and safety data in patients treated with
voriconazole. The objective of the present observational study is to assess the utility of voriconazole
therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM).(5,

The Death Of Macbeth By William Shakespeare
After the crowing of the new king, sickness begins to infiltrate throughout the land. What was once a
healthy and strong nation suddenly becomes stricken with terror and misfortunes. Macbeth portrays
sickness throughout the play, infecting everyone who he comes in contact with. On the other hand
Edward, the king of England, preserves and strengthens those who come to seek asylum within his
kingdom. Shakespeare uses the imagery of sickness versus health to reveal the effects of evil through
Macbeth and the effects of health through Edward, in his tragic play, Macbeth. The country is slowing
increasing in sickness fueled by the actions of Macbeth. Those who are still in the land describe it as,
...free from our feasts and banquets bloody knives, do faithful homage and relieve free honors all
which we pine for now... (3.6.35 37). Lady Macduff knows of all this but continues to reside in the
sickened land saying, To leave his wife, to leave his babes, his mansion, and his titles in a place, from
whence himself does fly?...So runs against all reason (4.2.6 8,13).She became a part of this saddened
land and holds her possessions as more important than her own life and the lives of her children.
Considering the sickness that surrounds her, she ends up defenseless when murders come to kill her.
All she reverberates is, I have done no harm...accounted dangerous folly. Why then alas do I put up
that womanly defense... (4.2.72,74 75). Since she has no knowledge of what to do she dies.

The Christian Apologetics
At the onset of the Christian faith, its followers faced a difficult period in which they had to deal with
many internal and external forces of confusion about their new faith. With Christianity being a rather
close subdivision of Judaism, the followers of Christianity are faced with the task of supporting their
beliefs and practices deeming why they are justifiable. In this apologetic period, these Jewish
Christians embark on the task of defending their church and the religion itself in order to establish its
credibility and existence. The Christian Apologetics main aim was to give a reasoned defense of their
church s way of life in a Christian community struggling to find its identity. Internally, the Christian
community was dealing with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

  • 2. Nucor Weaknesses Nucor Corporation is the second largest steel manufacturer in the United States. Nucor s approach to steel production and steel products is predicated upon drastically undercutting both foreign and domestic competition, risk taking, and visionary thinking. Nucor launched the steel mini mill industry in the late 1960s (Reference for Business, 2017). Since then, mini mills have increasingly edged the large mix steel companies out of most steel markets and led by Nucor in the late 1980s. Nucor s is headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina. Nucor have made a bold entry into the flat rolled steel market, which a lot of manufactures use, and the last domain of big steel. Nucor has remained profitable and a great growth rate in the difficult field and in a virtually non growth industry. It is also striving to supplant U.S. steel as the nation s number one steelmaker by ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Some of their strengths are Nucor s unique management philosophy and Nucor s innovation. Nucor s management philosophy really helps bring the best out of their workers. They allow their workers to make decisions in the work place. Workers also have their wages connected to their productivity and receive far higher wages than the average in their state. Nucor avoided laying off their employees during 2008 and seek alternative means to control labor cost and this has helped loyalty with their workforce. Nucor does a great job of staying ahead of the industry. Its innovation is years ahead of their competitors. They stood at the front of the mini mill technology (UKessays, 2015) which changed the industry for good and the new technology is always studied to help ensure that Nucor stays ahead of the competition. Weakness Nucor may have some great strengths, but they also have their own weaknesses. Their two weaknesses are exposure to fluctuation in price of scrap steel, and lack of market ... • 3. I Attended The Hugh O Brian Youth Leadership Seminar In June of 2015, I attended the Hugh O Brian Youth Leadership Seminar North Florida at Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida. The four days I spent at that seminar were some of the most defining moments of my adolescent life. The Hugh O Brian Youth Leadership Seminar, or HOBY, provides an opportunity for youth leaders to build their leadership skills in an open and accepting environment while tackling taboo topics such as climate change, terrorism, pollution, and racial profiling. The seminar is the reason why I have taken up such a distinct passion for youth leadership as well as the belief that leadership development in our youth is one of the most important of the diverse methods to building a brighter future. Therefore, for my service project I helped put together the 2016 Hugh O Brian Youth Leadership Seminar at Florida State University and served on staff to ensure the same opportunity that I had just a year ago was provided to the new ambassadors. This 2016 HOBY seminar spanned from Wednesday, June 1st, 2016 to Sunday, June 5th, 2016 well surpassing the time requirement for this service project. Service Provided The need that I addressed for not only the Ocala community, but North Florida as a whole, is filling the gap for youth leadership programs and providing youth leadership development for a diverse set of students based on the Social Change Model of Leadership. • 6. Child Support In California Just like every state, California has guidelines in their statutes that outline the what, where, how, and why of child support. The primary purpose of child support in Riverside, California is to do just that; support the child financially in order to provide for their needs. As far as the courts are concerned, that means whatever is in the best interest of the child (children). The basics of what is included in California Family Code 4053: The father and mother s most important and first obligation is to provide support for their child. The child support obligation is mutual, consistent with what is in the best interest of the child, and is calculated according to the income of both parents. Likewise, child support may also reduce the imbalance in the standard of living for each parent. California s cost of living is quite high and child support is ordered to reflect that fact. California law surmises that the custodial parent, or the parent who contributes the most significant amount of parenting time already contributes a significant amount of money and resources to support the child. This factor can be rebutted depending on the circumstances. California s guidelines for child support are intended to reduce litigation and conflict between parents. The best interest of the child is the state s first priority regarding child support and the overall care of the child. Do these guidelines work as the legislature intends? The goals of the statues regarding child support in Riverside, California are to prevent conflict between parents, provide insurance that the child will have their needs met, and again, primarily ensure their best interests are covered. • 7. The Fall Of The Roman Republic Tiberius and his brother Gaius were regarded in Roman tradition as the initiators of the revolution which led to the breakdown of the Republic. (Roebuck, 1966:506) The fall of the Roman Republic occurred during the late second century BC and resulted in various leading figures emerging such as Tiberius Sempronius Gracchus. Tiberius Gracchus was largely responsible for creating and initiating a long term political crisis in Rome in the early first century through his land reformations and desire to aid the poor. However, his intentions led not only to political arguments but violence within Roman society. This will be demonstrated through the analysis of ancient sources, discussion of the historical context, Tiberius Gracchus motives, actions and contribution to the fall of the Roman Republic. Much has been written about Tiberius in both modern and ancient sources, although some are divided on his motives while others strive for his selflessness. Orosius, an ancient source concerning the Roman Republic stated that Tiberius was angry with the nobility because of the Numantine Treaty, decided that the land possessed hither to by private individuals, should be divided amongst the people, and this caused him to reform against the Senate (Bishop, 1988). There are a trio of vital ancient sources reliable on the breakdown of the Republic. Cicero, Appian and Plutarch. • 8. Unbiased And Neutral Perspectives Essay In a world that filled with disputes and disagreements, it is somehow difficult to describe a conflicting event in a neutral tone based on one s own judgment, typically for those historians who attempted to examine the events occurred in the past. As a matter of fact, people s perspectives may be influenced by many conditions such as their cultural identities, genders, religions, emotions etc. Therefore, it is more likely that historians tend to hold biased view that may affect their tone in neutrality. However, to what extent can historians, or more generally the people, learn the history from an unbiased and neutral perspective? Eventually, the war resulted in the split of Korean territory into North Korea and South Korea, and the United States withdrew their troops. In fact in many cases, the United States withdraws their military force and ceases the war is because of the objection within the domestic citizens, due to a weary of costing human lives and national expenses, not that the United States don t have the strength to battle. If this event was described by an unbiased outsider, then it is more likely to be: The Koreans started a civil war, then split into North and South, and each side gained its own supporters or allies, and eventually the war was ceased. Not surprisingly that the Chinese and the North Korean began to spread the rumors that the United States was defeated and was kicked out of Korea. Furthermore, the Chinese described their action in assisting the North as revolting Americans, supporting North Koreans, protecting North Korea from the invasion of United States. While they might have their own perspectives but it is obvious that the truth was twisted and the neutrality of tone was distorted. Just then, I felt a click on the back of my head, like a light switch being flipped on. I got incredibly frustrated with myself for allowing such an injury to occur. (1995 2013) Finally, many evolutionists use the Grand Canyon as proof for millions of years, but evidence shows it actually formed from the overspill from two post Flood lakes. (Creation Today, n.d.) Obviously, all of this evidence creates major problems for evolution, but is fully explained by Noah s Flood. One of the biggest pieces of evidence for the Flood is the Cambrian explosion. The Cambrian explosion is taught by evolutionist to be a sudden burst of evolution caused by an increase in favorable environments. An evolutionist article states, Fossils provide solid evidence that organisms from the past are not the same as those found today; they show a progression of evolution... The resulting fossil record tells the story of the past and shows the evolution of form over millions of years. For example, scientists have recovered highly detailed records showing the evolution of humans and horses. (Evidence of Evolution, n.d.) In reality the fossil record shows that there was a sudden and nearly simultaneous appearance of all known phyla as well as species from the most distant parts of the family tree during the Cambrian period, instead of a gradual evolution. • 11. The Decline Of Western Culture Schaeffer Critique Purpose of Text and Intended Audience The purpose of the book is to discuss the decline of Western culture by analyzing history from his perspective from Rome to his present day (the 1970 s). Schaeffer (2005) presents the idea that to redeem society Christians must live as God desires and completely live by the Bible s teachings of morals and values. The intended audience would be Christians, because the entire tone of the book comes from a Christian worldview. Although, non believers may read the book, they may not glean insights from it like believers. Thesis and Bias Schaeffer s (2005) thesis was on how we should live now by understanding our history and culture through philosophical, scientific, and religious knowledge. Throughout the book Schaeffer (2005) displays bias because the book is written from a Christian perspective. Therefore, the way history is presented is skewed due to his Christian intent. Theoretical Assumptions and Issues One of the first concepts Schaeffer (2005) explores in the book is the significance of peoples presuppositions of Western history. Schaeffer (2005) believes that everyone has presuppositions and that they are gained through our family, peers, and our culture. His issue is that Western Civilization is declining and tracing history can shed light on why and how we should live to reverse the effects (Schaeffer, 2005). Historical and Current Issues and Implications The book begins in Rome. Schaeffer (2005) ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 12. The Amygdala Neural Study The interpretation of stress is believed to occur in the cerebral cortex of the brain based upon sensory and other input (such as from chemo receptors). The two categories of stress act through somewhat different neurological mechanisms, but the general features are similar. Cognitive processes are involved in the assessment of the input for both categories as to whether the input represents a potential threat in a routine manner. The amygdala appears to have a central role in the stress response [46, 47]. Amygdala neurons release corticotropin releasing hormone (CRH) which has two major effects: it causes the brain stem (including the rostral ventrolateral medulla) to stimulate the sympathetic nervous system (SNS) through spinal nerves, and ... After initialization, the monitor should be calibrated to a mercury column or gauge by taking simultaneous auscultatory measurements on the study subject. There are two ways to determine what the specific conditions are during each individual ambulatory blood pressure measurement. The first is through direct observation. Specifically, a person other than the study subject continuously watches and records, either in a journal or electronically, the extant conditions when the monitor goes off. The second method involves having subjects self report the ambient conditions in a diary. Specifically, subjects write down or input in a computer the various parameters that are manifest when the blood pressure cuff inflates, including both personal and environmental ... • 13. The Evolution Of Optical Networks Optical network is designed to transmit digital signals in the form of pulses of light. Optical fiber is used as medium for transmission. Optical fiber is a thin, flexible, transparent fiber (glass or plastic) that acts as a waveguide to transmit light between the ends of the fiber. Optical fiber consists of a central glass core surrounded by a cladding layer whose refractive index is slightly lower than the core index. Such fibers are generally referred to as step index fiber to distinguish them from graded index fiber in which the refractive index of the core decreases gradually from center to core boundary. Working principle for transmission is total internal reflection (TIR). Figure 1.1 Light propagation in fiber Optical ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In such kinds of optical networks, both the traffic passing by and ending at a node is converted from the optical domain to the electrical domain and switched electronically to an output port (including a port that can drop traffic locally). Following electronic switching, the traffic passing by a node is converted back to the optical domain before departing from the node. With the increase in data transmission rate, electrical switching and optical electrical optical (OEO) conversion result in a significant growth in complexity and cost for electronic devices. Therefore, reducing the burden placed on the underlying electronic devices in a node and removing electronic switching for traffic passing by a node became key factors in the development of second generation optical networks. The switching and processing of bits were, however, handled in the electronic domain as before. 1.2.2 Second Generation Optical Networks These networks were made capable of using multiple carrier wavelengths that were multiplexed onto a single fiber thus offering increased bandwidth. The technique is called wavelength division multiplexing. From technological point of view, incorporating the switching and routing functionality in the optical domain and allowing for the transparency of data format, protocol and bit rates are the achievements of second generation over ... I believe that this organization does great things in society and that I can play a part in furthering the impression that is made. I like to think that I deserve this honor and this chance because I have worked very hard to get here. During the summer after ninth grade, I worked at my father s company, AAE, located in Livonia. There I took leadership in starting a new project. In 2011, my father s business received 8A certification. Which is given to a select few small businesses certifying them to receive and complete government contracts. In summer of 2015, the company received the largest order it had ever seen. The Value Of A Liberal Arts Education Aspects of recent debates about the value of a liberal arts education, its usefulness and its appropriateness strike a familiar and disturbing historical chord. Recently in English class, my peers and read and discussed an article titled, Why We Need Liberal Arts written by Joseph R. Urgo from The Baltimore Sun. This article is about the importance and value of a liberal arts education. Liberal arts are college or university studies (as language, philosophy, literature, abstract science) intended to provide chiefly general knowledge and to develop general intellectual capacities (as reason and judgment) as opposed to professional or vocational skills Society may say that college is a waste of time and money, but is it really? Some people ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I believe that we live in a world that is scared of what society will think. People should act on how they feel, not what they think will be accepted by others. When deciding whether or not to go to college, don t base your decision on what your friends are doing. Don t ditch college just because your friends don t want an education. By not participating in college, we can easily get stuck in the past. Tens of thousands of people wear identical, plain, homemade clothing, cultivate their rich fields with horse drawn machinery, and live in houses lacking that basic modern spirt called electricity (Rheingold 221). The media takes a very sophisticated belief into an assumption that suggests that Amish do not use technology at all. Another religion that contains bias from the media is Islam. According to the media, Islam is a religion associated with terrorism. This media assumption is based on the, emergence of the self proclaimed Islamic State group (ISIS) which allegedly shows videos of the beheadings of their prisoners who are most often journalists (Espiritu). This has caused people to use the terms Muslim and Terrorist interchangeably. Not all Muslims who associate with Islam are terrorists. For example, Malala Yousafzai, a Muslim, is the youngest Nobel Peace Prize winner and an education activist. Media also makes assumptions on the religion for Jews, Judaism. As described in the above category 7, the various substrates are used for ligation with aldehydic and ketonic groups of the proteins, P. This strategy can be used in the development of a prodrug delivery system. The advantage of this scheme over the other oxime and hydrazone ligations is that the ligation proceeds very fast near the neutral pH(that is the pH of the normal physiological body) and the product of the HIPS ligation is showing very long stability in human plasma (approx 5 days) as compared to that of oxime linked conjugate (approx 1 day). Relationship Between Expectations And Price Movements Essay Motivation My motivation to look closer into the relationship between expectations and price movements comes from my trading experience within the forex market. For the past two years, I have been trading live within the forex market, with two years prior to this paper trading. What attracted me to the forex market rather than the many other markets available to trade independently was the high volatility and the opportunity to profit from it. However, as I quickly learned during my period of paper trading this volatility would cause me to incur more losses than profits. Since then I ve adopted a more conservative trading style which is mainly oriented around technical analysis. However, I m still quite interested in the immediate and often drastic price movements which happen when news is released. My primary goal of this paper was to understand and possibly adopt new elements into my trading strategy to become a better trader. Empirical framework Setup I will be analyzing the effect expectations have on price movements within the foreign exchange market. In order to estimate this, a few key variables are required: price, forecasted, previous and actual news numbers. Using these variables we can estimate the effect on which major news events have on the price movements. Some places such as, the Americas, the Caribbean, Africa and southern Asia were all very common places for colonization not only just for United Kingdom but the rest of Europe. Beginning in the 1700 s the British started to gain economic relationships with India. The British East India Company set up a massive trading network and thrived off of an abundance of resources and highly demanded goods that they found in India. Indian cotton, silk, peppers, spices, and indigo were extremely successful in European trading markets. This success in the trading markets fueled English interest in India and led to expansion into mainland India. Weak Mughal rule allowed for the British East India company to gain more control and political power in their colonies. After a period of harsh, militaristic rule from the trading company, the sepoys fought back to re establish Indian political control and to rid India of the British. Queen Victoria sent troops to fight the rebellion and successfully put it down. This led to more and more British politicians sent to India to rule and to encourage western education and religion. Throughout the novel, Desai explores the theme of family life and uses the novel s two settings, America and India, to compare and contrast the values and customs that constitute each respective culture s family life. Because of this particular way that Desai chose to write about the Pattons, the reader is led to believe that affiliations with extended family are inexistent in the American family s household. The consolidated nature of Indian families gives extended family members the power to have great influence over their younger relatives. Eve s Apology In Defense Of Women By Salve Deus Rex Juadeorum In Eve s Apology in Defense of Women, an excerpt from Salve Deus Rex Juadeorum, Aemilia Lanyer uses biblical illusions such as the story of Eve eating the forbidden fruit, as well as satirical diction to convey a message of unjust attitudes toward the female gender. These attitudes express an imbalanced judgement of women in religious settings, a notion that would continue to be used not only when alluding to religion, but also in other everyday life events. Lanyer, however, uses this satirical language to argue that Eve is only to blame as much as the male characters in the story, Adam and Satan. Since being written in 1611, Salve Deus Rex Juadeorum has interested readers of all kinds due to its incredible use of feminist diction in several different poems and paragraphs, all of which are written by a young female author, Aemilia Lanyer. According to Subjectivity and Women s Poetry in Early Modern England by Lynette McGrath, Lanyer was trying to sway aristocratic dedicatees into a benevolent membership in a women s community by poetically invoking the attractive and idealized discourses of maternity, religion and women s nurturing love for each other (page 211). In Eve s Apology in Defense of Women the reader can recognize this heavy use of religious context to persuade her audience to grasp this idea of building a women s community via the unjust treatment reserved in the very first book of Genesis. First, we collected a corpus of code fragments, containing 127 code fragments, extracted directly from the Eclipse and NetBeans Official FAQs. Second, we hired human annotators to suggest summary lines i.e., Gold Summary Lines (annotation). Third, we introduced crowdsourcing (data driven) as a problem solving model in software artifact summarization paradigm, as it had not been employed before for software artifact summarization, for extracting code features. Fourth, we trained two classifiers namely Support Vector Machines (SVM) and Naive Bayes (NB) on code fragments. Next, we evaluated the effectiveness of these classifiers on different statistical measures such as Accuracy, Precision, Recall, F Score, True Positive Rate (TPR), False Positive Rate (FPR), Receiver Operator Characteristic (ROC), and Area under curve (AUC). In the end, we performed feature selection analysis to rank and determine the importance of selected features. In the sections below, we discuss these steps one by one. 5.2.1 Corpus Creation We need a corpus of code fragments to train and judge the effectiveness of our classifiers. • 36. The Cultural Value Model Of Japan And Japan The cultural value model that is being used in this outline is Hofstede s Model. Although Japan and America have quite a few economic and technologic similarities, they contrast in many ways. The biggest difference between these two countries is Individualism vs. Collectivism. Hofstede himself finds that both of these cultures differ significantly on most these diminesions (Shah). PART 1: Compare and Contrast Cultural Values Power Distance Power distance in cultures refers to the way that power is distributed between people. It can be measured by the extent of how individuals within that culture accept who has power and who doesn t. In places with a lower power distance, individuals act equal regardless of their formal positions. Japan places much more emphasis on power distance in their culture than America does. This is because it s a lot more hierarchical. While some individuals in America lack respect for those in higher positions, this is simply not tolerated in Japan. For example, direct eye contract when speaking to someone who has more authority is frowned upon in Japan. The differences in power distance between these two cultures was clear from the movie as every Japanese person knew their role and what was expected from them. The advantage of this is that it reduces the conflict of jurisdictions. But the disadvantage is that our Supreme Court has a longer term than the Constitutional Council which allows more constant laws and fewer laws that will contradict each other. The aspect of legal profession and legal education is also extremely different. To become a judge in France you must first obtain a law degree from a university law school. Next you must gain admission to the National School for the Judiciary at Bordeaux (Terrill 236). After completing this school, the candidate is now qualified to become a judge. The French system allows judges to begin their profession at an early age which could be a disadvantage because of lack of experience in the system, where judges in the United States are usually older and more knowledgeable. • 42. Grief Scenarios Introduction. The question for this reflective journal was to demonstrate how I would assist a patient that has gone through a traumatic event. Therefore, I have decided to create a scenario to practically show the steps I would take during each stage of grief. Scenario Erin Reuben is a 26 year old female that just finished her degree in teaching. She is a newlywed and on her honeymoon, she and her husband went horseback riding. She fell off the horse and the horse stepped on her right leg. The trauma was so severe that they could not save the leg and that she was amputated roughly 10cm above the knee. Treatment. Seeing and hearing that she is still able to achieve great things could motivate her to push forward and give her the drive to live her life. Acceptance This is the final stage of grief. This is when the patient starts to make peace with what happened to them and they start to move on. Common phrases used are: There is nothing I can do about it so I might as well make the best of it. Erin will start to grow accustomed to her life as an amputee. She will start getting into a routine and become more and more independent. She will still have various struggles in her day to day life but she would have worked through the traumatic event. When a patient reaches this stage, it does not mean that their treatment is over. You must always be available to listen to any problems that the patient needs to discuss. Try to keep an eye on their emotion and psychological state. A patient can easily slip back into depression and therefore we as practitioners need to constantly be vigilant to identify any problems or needs and try to help a patient through ... Looking at just the individual aspects and the biomedical health model, we don t get the context of Aboriginal health. These shows were so important in so many people s lives and even became something they look up too. The theater in ancient Greece played this same role. Everyone attended the plays that were performed. The theater had many important aspects including the set up, the audience, and the actors. These shaped the way these immaculate plays were executed. The theater was always set up using a very specific format. The plays that were performed, usually only during late Winter and early Spring, always took place in an open air theater that was built into the side of a hill. • 45. The Theory Of Classical Conditioning Classical conditioning is based on an association between two stimuli and implies that we as organisms are rather passive in the learning process. Operant conditioning is based on a response and stimuli (i.e., consequences) that follow that response. Operant implies that organisms operate on the environment to produce consequences we anticipate based on previous active learning. Classical conditioning, the association between two stimuli is easily demonstrated in the media. For example, advertising professionals know that they have to pair their products with something that will trigger something in the audience. By pairing their products with something that makes people either happy, excited, or even hungry. They know that people will want to purchase their products. Coca Cola has been pairing their products with Christmas for years. Christmas naturally makes most people happy and excited for the holiday season. During the Coca Cola Christmas commercial for 2010, it starts with Santa running through a parking lot. As it continues hundreds of red semi trucks covered in white lights appear. Through the trees you catch a glimpse of the Coca Cola label and Santa sitting in a chair drinking a coke. While Christmas music plays children run to line the road to watch the trucks pass. While the clinical presentation and diagnosis of ALS dates back to the early 1900 s, with Charcot being the first to scientifically report and document his findings, there simply has not been definitive evidence since that time for the etiology for ALS. This fundamental problem has befuddled the most qualified researchers and its ensuing answer has eluded the most clever experiments for some 80 years. This paper is being written to address some of the most plausible candidate causes which have come to the forefront of ALS research in the last few years. This paper will also try to tackle the ... The typical history usually involves early recognition of an onset of clumsiness in the hands and fingers, with a weakness in the legs soon to follow. There is also bulbar involvement that usually manifests in problems with speech and swallowing. This bulbar involvement is interesting in that it may be cytologically distinct from the corticospinal manifestation. The degenerative process itself is unforgivingly progressive, except for a few permanent plateaus, and for all reasonable assessments, will yield a fatal outcome. Even so, it should be noted that patients most often do not die from ALS, but from secondary causes such as infection and pneumonia. When considering ALS, the relevant question is not what has been proposed as the causative agent, but what has not been proposed. Over the years, there has been a myriad of theories concerning the etiology of ALS, some with a valid premise and decent evidence, and others being way off the mark. Some of the theories that have been advanced include viruses, actions of specific neurotoxins or heavy metals, failure of DNA repair mechanisms, altered axonal transport, or some type of unusual autoimmune disease. With a significant volume of scientific literature being devoted to ALS progress each year, it becomes painfully obvious how confusing it is to extract one or two well ... • 47. Immanuel Kant And Karl Marx In an effort to understand progress and its goal in humanity, philosophers Immanuel Kant and Karl Marx each present their theories with Kant believing progress is made through the reform brought on by antagonism and social instability in humanity which will ultimately lead to perpetual peace, while Marx argues progress comes in the form of a worker s revolution and the adoption of true communism that will lead to utopia. These German thinkers seek to define the guiding the force beneath humanity s constant state of evolution to understand where it is headed and advise towards a goal they find ideal for humanity. Through an analysis of human characteristics, Immanuel Kant concludes progress is driven by humanity s innate behavior of contempt for one another, which he refers to as antagonism. In Kant s essay On Universal History , his fourth thesis states, The means employed by Nature to bring about the development of all the capacities of men is their antagonism in society, so far as this is, in the end, the cause of a lawful order among men. By this, Kant means that man finds himself in mutual opposition with his peers, but this opposition, as deemed by nature, is the force driving mankind s development. According to Kant, man has a conflicting, natural tendency to both associate and isolate himself from others. The former because society gives him the ability to feel he is more developed than his individual capacities allow for, and the latter is a consequence of his ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The main aims were to settle disputes by diplomacy and to maintain peace. The main problems they addressed were France, revolutionary movements, unrest in Italy and Spain, the Spanish colonies and Greek revolts. Divergence occurred over whether to intervene militarily to put down revolutionary movements and/or revolts against governments they considered legitimate, and whether this constituted interfering in the internal affairs of other countries. The treatment of France did not cause disagreements, but divisions between the powers and opposition, especially by Britain, to the use of force to support reactionary rule led to the breakdown of the Congress System. Candidates could decide whether the Congress System was therefore a genuine attempt at unified policy, and whether its failure to be expected because of the diverse interests and nature of the Great Powers. Multiple factors have been found to be associated with a large variability in voriconazole exposure following standard dose administration, such as nonlinear saturable pharmacokinetics, patient age (in particular, with respect to children), liver disease, drug drug interactions, and genetic polymorphism of the cytochrome CYP2C19.(5) In experimental candidiasis, the ratio of voriconazole peak concentration and the 24 h area under the curve over the MIC have been identified as the best pharmacodynamic predictors of treatment success. In contrast, no experimental data are available regarding the pharmacodynamics of voriconazole for the treatment of aspergillosis or other mycoses. Recently, experts have suggested that voriconazole trough blood levels should be measured after 1 week of therapy for dose adjustment to target values of 1 5.5 mg/L.(6 8) However, the utility of such measurements remains debatable, given that multiple confounding factors may influence the outcome of infection and the assessment of tolerance in severely ill patients. This uncertainty highlights the need for additional drug exposure related efficacy and safety data in patients treated with voriconazole. • 51. The Death Of Macbeth By William Shakespeare After the crowing of the new king, sickness begins to infiltrate throughout the land. What was once a healthy and strong nation suddenly becomes stricken with terror and misfortunes. Macbeth portrays sickness throughout the play, infecting everyone who he comes in contact with. On the other hand Edward, the king of England, preserves and strengthens those who come to seek asylum within his kingdom. Shakespeare uses the imagery of sickness versus health to reveal the effects of evil through Macbeth and the effects of health through Edward, in his tragic play, Macbeth. The country is slowing increasing in sickness fueled by the actions of Macbeth. Those who are still in the land describe it as, ...free from our feasts and banquets bloody knives, do faithful homage and relieve free honors all which we pine for now... (3.6.35 37).
