Why Recreational Hunting Of Western Canada Is Morally...
In his letter titled Why Recreational Hunting in Western Canada is Morally Justified, Sven states that
he is arguing for responsible hunting where the primary benefits are the pleasure of hunting animals in
the wilderness and eating their meat. Despite several strengths, his weaknesses in reasoning outweigh
the few positives. Thus, the letter s overall worth is negligible. The letter s weaknesses in reasoning lie
in Sven s central justifications for recreational hunting, being human pleasure and eating meat, in his
supporting argument for animal suffering, and in his failure to define recreational hunting s necessity.
To begin, I will address the strengths of Sven s letter. The first strength is that Sven defines his
argument s parameters, allowing him to eliminate several counterarguments against his claim. Sven
specifies that the hunting type he argues for does not include killing for protection or sustenance, nor
negligent hunting practices that promote needless harm to humans, property, or wildlife. Additionally,
Sven rejects using bait or vehicles. Sven s most significant strength is when he defines the moral
relationship between humans and animals, stating, [a]nimals deserve respect, but so do humans, and
when there is conflict of interests, the interest that humans have in feeding their families must prevail.
Stuart Rachels, in his evaluation of Utilitarianism, argues that humans are special in many ways but
are not the only beings capable of suffering, and thus

Native American Asimilation Of Native Americans
The film opens with the Native American victory at Little Big Horn over General Custer and his men
on June 25, 1876. Custer s death and the Native American win sparked rage from the U.S. government
and led them to redraw territories so that the gold filled Black Hills would not be included in the
reservation land. The event of the movie focus on the government s attempts to steal this land and the
resistance of the Native Americans.
1) Who was Charles Eastman and what were the contending forces that shaped him throughout the
film?
Charles Eastman is born mixed race and grows up in a tribe under the name OhÍyesa in the Dakotas
until he is reunited with his father who had converted to Christianity and changed his name to Jacob
Eastman as part of assimilating into the United States like the U.S. government desired. Charles is
educated in schools with white teachers put forth to facilitate the assimilation of Native Peoples. He is
very bright and goes on to study at Dartmouth and Boston University medical school. Throughout his
education he remembers his past and wants to make life for Native Americans better. He remembers
his Native American people and their struggle but is also distanced from in and surrounded by white
society. He is trusted by the powerful white men that he forms business friendships with while they try
to use him to help in their exploitation and assimilation of the Natives by praising him and advancing
his European American style education. His wife

Outside Beauty And Staying Forever Young
Outside beauty and staying forever young are the newest trends among today s society. Women are the
highest percentage of this trend because women have been conditioned at young age to believe outer
beauty is unsurpassed. Plastic or cosmetic surgery in the past has been kept hushed, never knowing
did she have her nose worked on? Today plastic surgery is being embraced by the millions and highly
looked upon. Recently a friend of mine had a breast augmentation. Her argument was the need to feel
more confident in her own body. She felt out of proportion to the rest of her body. Young and old
women today feel the need to look like Barbie, which undoubtedly comes from the need to replicate
their favorite celebrities. Other causes for plastic or cosmetic surgery come from low self esteem
issues, sexual satisfaction and the need to be accepted as beautiful.
For Instance, in 2000 more than 6.3 million women went under the knife by surgeons certified by the
American Board of Plastic Surgery, says the American Society of Plastic Surgeons statistics. The five
most popular invasive surgical procedures for women in 2000 were liposuction, eyelid surgery, nose
reshaping, breast augmentation and facelift (ASPS statistics). There were nearly 11.9 million surgical
and non surgical cosmetic procedures performed in 2004, according to the most comprehensive survey
to date of U.S. physicians and surgeons by the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
(ASAPS Statistics).

My Hero Research Paper
We all have heroes, some are fictional like Superman, Batman, or Abraham Lincoln. My hero is, my
dad. Ever since I was born, I have lived mainly with my dad. When I was a kid, me and my dad lived
in Florida. On the weekends we would go out boating. Crystal clear water all around, the smell of the
sea filling your nose, the not as pleasant taste of salt water in your mouth. Going out on the ocean was
the best part of being there. When we moved we lost all that. We went to Greybull, Wyoming, a small
town where my father grew up. I made a few friends and we all had lots of fun together. My dad was
usually working, fixing the house or out on a job. Most of the time he took me with him and I helped
out. During the winter we would go out to the

In Defense of Liberty and Individuality Essay
In Defense of Liberty and Individuality
It is a little known fact that for the past century, every American president has been given a copy of
John Stuart Mill s On Liberty[1] upon entering office. Since its publication in 1859, On Liberty s
discussions of liberty and individuality have been a foundation for modern Western political thought
and for the liberal democracy. Mill brings to light a unique perspective on the relationship between
liberty and individuality, and in the end, on tolerance. According to Mill, individual liberty should be
limited by one, and only one thing: the self preservation of society and other individuals. To that end,
man should be free to act and even more so to think in any form he wishes, ... Show more content on

The aim, therefore, of patriots, was to set limits to the power which the ruler should be suffered to
exercise over the community; and this limitation was what they meant by liberty (On Liberty, 4).
These reforms were leading to the democratization of culture and government the transition that Mill
sees around him putting power in the hands of the people. This was supposed to remove the possibility
of tyranny, but Mill is not convinced. He sees two types of tyranny unaccounted for: tyranny of the
majority, where the many persecute the few, and tyranny of public opinion, in which society seeks to
impose a set of values on everyone. [T]he tyranny of the majority is now generally included among
the evils against which society requires to be on guard (On Liberty, 6). Mill sees the need for laws to
protect against both types of tyranny.
After noting that many nations have tried and failed at this feat, he offers his own solution. Society or
an individual may interfere with individual rights if and only if it is necessary to protect itself. [T]he
sole end for which mankind are warranted, individually or collectively, in interfering with the liberty
of action of any of their members, is self protection...[h]is own good, either physical or moral, is not a
sufficient warrant (On Liberty, 11). Mill uses a Hobbesian notion of self preservation as the
cornerstone of his

How Is Hester Prynne Cruel
In the classic novel The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne, protagonist Hester Prynne gives birth
to an illegitimate daughter and is forced to wear the letter A on her breast stitched in scarlet and gold
as punishment. She keeps the father, Reverend Arthur Dimmesdale, a secret even after questioning.
This leaves him burdened by the guilt he feels for not serving the same punishment as her. Meanwhile
Roger Chillingworth, her husband, enters town as the new physician and looks for revenge.
Hawthorne s work repeatedly portraits Hester as a victim of overly harsh punishment and unfair
expectations, in this case based on sexuality, made at the hands of a patriarchal society. Hester Prynne
is a victim of unduly extreme discipline for her act of adultery. She is sentenced to a lifetime of
wearing a beautifully stitched letter A on whatever she wore and three hours of standing on the town s
scaffold to be publicly shamed. Statements like they should have put the brand of a hot iron on Hester
Prynne s forehead (Hawthorne 60) were uttered of her as she served her punishment. If the lifetime of
humiliation wasn t enough, her child was almost taken from her too. A meeting between Governor
Bellingham, Reverend Wilson, Reverend Dimmesdale, and Roger Chillingworth was held to discuss
the caretaking ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Puritan society they are living in is patriarchal. This is clear when observing who the leaders of
the town are; each figure is a male. When Chillingworth is receiving a report on why Hester is
standing up on the scaffold, the townsman can tell he is from out of town or he has not heard of
Mistress Hester Prynne, and her evil doings. (71) To this society, Hester s actions are seen as wicked
and immoral. Hawthorne wrote this piece in the midst of an uprising feminist movement in the 1800s
and was bringing to light victimization that stems from the long standing social views on women s

Rain Man ( Johnson Levinson
Rain Man (Johnson Levinson, 1988) follows the story of two brothers, estranged at a young age, who
meet and set out on a road trip that changes their lives. The character with disability, Raymond
Babbitt, is institutionalized for autism after a dangerous hot water accident that involved his younger
brother, Charlie Babbitt. The two meet unexpectedly after the death of their father and embark on an
adventure full of frustrations and reconnection. This was an original screen play by Barry Morrow and
Ronald Bass (Rain Man (1988)) Raymond Babbitt s world is very narrow because of his institutional
upbringing and lack of social interaction. This man with autism is not employed and is extremely
dependent on the individuals around him. He does not have the social skills or comprehension needed
to hold down a job, nor does he have a strong grasp of reality and the complexity of society. It is stated
by his doctor that Raymond does not have the capability to express his feelings; therefore, he is unable
to relate and understand human life as the typically developing person would. Raymond functions
almost robotically, consistently needing a strict schedule. This being said, Raymond is extremely
dependent on the caretakers at the institution for everything in his life, including his meals and
bedtime schedule. He does receive professional aid from Doctor Bruner during his stay at the institute
and psychologist, Doctor Marston, whom he sees after a psychotic break down.

Quantitative Study Of Heat And Enthalpy Changes
PART A
Thermochemistry is the quantitative study of heat and enthalpy changes in chemical reactions.
Enthalpy (H) ... is a measure of the total energy possessed by a substance or group of substances.
(Smith 2006, pp. 289). The change in enthalpy (∆H) of a substance is defined as the heat absorbed or
released during a chemical reaction.
A car motor works by converting petrol, also known as chemical energy, to kinetic energy, therefore
assisting with the movement of a car.
A chemical reaction, known as combustion, occurs in the car motor. A combustion reaction consists of
a hydrocarbon reacting with oxygen (O2) to give the products carbon dioxide (CO2) and water (H2O).
A hydrocarbon is a compound consisting simply of Hydrogen (H2) and Carbon (C), methane (CH4)
and diesel (C12H23) are examples of a hydrocarbon. The chemical equation for a combustion reaction
is as follows: Hydrocarbon + Oxygen  Carbon Dioxide + Water. The combustion reaction of
methane (CH4) is: CH4 (g) + 2O2 (g)  CO2 (g) + 2H2O (l), the combustion reaction of ethane is:
2C2H6 (g) + 7O2 (g)  4 CO2 (g) + 6 H2O (l) and the combustion reaction for butane is 2C4H10 (g)
+13O2 (g)  8CO2 (g) +10H2O (g). If combustion takes place internally, the engine is referred to as
an internal combustion engine. A diesel engine is an example of this. Internal combustion engines
convert the chemical energy in fuel to mechanical energy via an exothermic reaction.
An internal combustion engine, mainly consists of a

Causes And Consequences Of The War Of 1812
The war of 1812 was also known as the second War of Independence , for some it may even be known
as the Forgotten War . It was an important conflict with long lasting consequences, especially for the
Native Americans in North America. The main cause of the war was America s desire to expand its
territory (history.com war of 1812 ). Just like everything else in America s history people were greedy
and always wanted more. More land equals more workers which equals more money. Native
Americans did not own land, land was known Mother Earth, everyone shared all she had to offer,
nothing was taken for granted, nothing was wasted, everything had its own importance. When new
settlers came to the Americas they were looking for new land, new territory for their settlements.
Some did not know that the land already had settlers; Natives. Think of when you have visitors at your
home, are you welcoming? Most of the time you are. That is exactly how the natives were with these
new settlers. Though they did not speak the same language the natives offered a helping hand, just to
get spit on in return. Not literally, but figuratively, the new settlers seen natives as people that could be
changed. So that s what they did, they tried to assimilate the Indians teaching them the white man s
ways. Many Indians did not know what was happening at the time and others caught on causing many
uproars. The War of 1812 is just another one of those uproars. The war was not fought between

First week. Gyllenhaal week, Jake Gyllenhaal to be precise. He has always had really intriguing
choices/ or been given interesting characters, trying not to be pinpointed by a single form of
filmmaking. But, there are always patterns, and I can t remember during this week any film that he

Attention is something that is extremely important to always have. In chapter three, the author stated
attention can be defined as a concentration of mental activity that allows you to take in a limited
portion of the vast stream of information available from both your sensory world and memory

me about five minutes to be able to name the colors in the rectangular patches in part B five times

African American s Access For Counseling And...
I aim to analyze the disparity in African American s access to counseling psychological services.
According to literature such as Andre Bean s An examination of factors that contribute to African
Americans inability to seek professional psychological help , Black people under use mental health
services. This coupled with an ubiquitous stigma on psychological services impacts how Black people
navigate the space of mental health. I am interested in exploring how social media represents the
changing attitude of mental health. Furthermore, I am hoping to unpack how the shifting of public
discourse influences and materializes policy in providing access to African Americans.
Historically, Black Americans have been reluctant to pursue mental health treatment. Bean (2007)
details how cultural tensions, Black religiosity, gender role dynamics, and African American history
with mental health has lead to current negative perceptions of counseling and psychological services
in African American communities. Bean (2007) conducted this study by sampling 194 African
American students of Tennessee State University and an additional 94 Black residents of a
neighboring community of Nashville, TN. The author s participants completed tests measuring
Cultural Mistrust Inventory (CMI), Religious Orientation Scale (ROS), Gender Role Conflict Scale
(GCRS) and Attitudes toward Seeking Professional Psychological Help Scale (ATSPPH). Ultimately,
gender roles did significantly correlate to informing

That Summer Book Report
Diving into Change The fictional novel entitled That Summer was written by author, Sarah Dessen. It
was published in 1996 as her first book to be sold. Dessen states, It was actually the third one I wrote,
after a terrible book I did in college and one that was marginally better the year after. I never intended
That Summer to be a YA (young adult) book while I was writing it (Sarah Dessen, n. d.). She then
goes on to state how her publisher believed it would be a good book for teenagers, so, she gave it a
shot, and allowed it to be published. According to UNCTV, Sarah Dessen grew up in Chapel Hill,
North Carolina and attended UNC Chapel Hill, graduating with the highest honors in Creative
Writing. She is the author of several novels and has a motion picture based on her first two books,
entitled How to Deal. Her 11th novel, The Moon and More, was published in June 2013. She currently
lives in North Carolina (UNCTV, 2006). That Summer was inspired by Dessen s interest in writing
about what she describes as the change in youth s personality as they go through some sort of tragedy
or loss (Sarah Dessen, n. d.). Consequently, in That Summer, protagonist, Haven McPhail, faces a

Analysis Of Alfred Hitchcock s Film Bates Motel
When looking at the Netflix production of their show named Bates Motel, they examine the early life

1960 s. During this show, we see the first murder of Norman is his father, and as the show goes on
overtime you can see the different phycological problems of Norman develop into Schizophrenia
where he suppresses the murders that he commits in his mind making him dissociated with his crimes
and never showing remorse (Schmalleger, 2012). When doing our reading this week, it discussed that
some violent dissociated killers would return to the crime or show up at the victims grave site, and this
is what made me think of this show to answer this question.

their developing lives, independence is what s going to help them succeed and excel, once they re on

As hard as it is to just stand by and watch your child, whether they re succeeding or not, they need that
space to learn, evolve and experiment, or else they re always going to be looking for you to rescue
them. Entering any preschool program, your child won t have the luxury of constant individual
attention, meaning they will have no choice but to sink or swim. Since you want them to swim, start
giving them room to self resolve issues now, while they still have you as a safety net. Before long,
they ll understand that if they want some problems solved, they have to put on their thinking caps, use
patience and take matters into their own little hands. If it seems hard for you to cease the hoovering,
just wait until you feel the total exhilaration of watching your child accomplish something all on their
own; it s such a breath taking moment for parents, you ll automatically start giving them more room to
act independently in many instances. 3. Assign A Simple Job To Your Child You don t realize how
much your child depends on you for everything, until you ask them to do something on their own.
They might look at you as if you re perfectly out of your mind or they might even cry about the new
task, but being a responsible, working member of a team in your house is going to go a long way
toward helping your child succeed in a busy classroom. Give them a simple job they must tend to

The Legend Of Robin Hood In Anglo-Saxon Lore
The legend of Robin Hood in Anglo Saxon lore represents the people s hero. The histories and other
few writings focused on the great deeds of high kings, lords and knights; English folk lore gave little
attention to the commoner. That is with the notable exception of the yeoman Robin Hood. English
peasants heard the tale of Robin Hood s charismatic rebellion against strict hierarchy and rejoiced.
Robin was the original rebel, the original adventurer, and the hero all Englishmen identified with. For
this reason, Robin Hood has remained a key figure in the collective mythos of the English and of their
cultural children. To understand the importance of Robin Hood and his adventures, one must first
appreciate the extremely mundane lives of the typical English peasant farmer. Born into duty and
loyalty, calcified feudalism forced the serfs to work the land on which they were born for little profit
and gain for a lifetime. Most were illiterate, uneducated, and highly provincial. A serf s purpose was to
remain loyal to his lord and to toil obediently farming the land until death. Even the prospect of
climbing into nobility oneself was impossible. God had made serfs into serfs and lords into lords. To
rebel against one s station in life was to rebel against God. In other words, serfs had nothing to strive
for in the socioeconomic order of medieval England. These fettered minds gave birth to a hero that
captured the hopes and dreams that themselves they could never achieve. The

Technicolor In Animated And Live-Action Film ( 1942 ) And...
Technicolor in Animated and Live Action Film: Bambi (1942) and Becky Sharp (1935) Colour,
especially by today s audiences, is considered to be a staple in a film s mise en scene. It is generally
thought to be an attraction today if a film does not have colour, and it influences many different
readings of films. However, it was not always considered to be such an essential part of cinema. In the
early days of Technicolor, specifically in the mid 30s to early 40s, colour added to the aesthetic of
film. Specifically, the colour aesthetics of animated film and live action film created different readings
of their respective films. For example, colour in Bambi (1942) was used to compliment and indicate
the setting and the tone and/or mood at specific points in the narrative, as well as to indicate when
important events were occurring in the film. These elements of the narrative are shown through the
colours of certain scenes themselves and the vibrancy of the colours. So with the help of the colours in
the film, the film itself can be read as a growing up tale . In comparison, a live action film, Becky
Sharp (1935), colour is used in a contrasting way to emphasize certain parts of the narrative, such as
specific characters or themes in the film. In this case, the help of the colours can help emphasize the
main character of the film, Becky Sharp, in her journey to climb the social ranks of the nineteenth
century. In animated film, especially in terms of Walt Disney s animated

Omaha Beach Landing Case Analysis
The purpose of this paper is to analyze an alternate outcome to the Omaha Beach landing in
Normandy, France. On June 6, 1944, the U.S. conducted an assault into Nazi occupied France. The
Nazi s terrain advantage and overwhelming forces at Omaha Beach nearly defeated the assault.
Applying SIGINT and HUMINT assets to discover the Nazi s had reinforced the beach, the U.S. could
have justified increased bombing runs and heavy naval gunfire prior to the assault. This would have
increased U.S. lethality, decreased the loss of life and equipment, and decreased the time it took to
advance through the objective. The U.S. was part of Operation Neptune, an amphibious assault on
Normandy. The operation was part of a larger military action called ... Show more content on

Abstract Most projects are initiated, planned, executed and monitored and controlled with the full

Conclusion
The risk of skipping planned project activities as listed by Robert Wysocki (2009, pp.283 288) is a big
threat for the likelihood of future problems. This is the case with 2 projects in South Sudan. The first
had close out problems because client condition of satisfaction for deliverables was not documented at
the start of the project, nor was it tracked, updated, discussed and agreed. During close out, senior
management from the client and contractor blamed each other for not having a plan making close out
a war of words to be settled by an Arbitrator. Also, another project, although with a documented close
out plan that was reviewed and updated on a monthly basis, did not include an agreement as to who
would be the receptor of project asset. This brought chaos during closure when government claimed
all assets should be turn over to them and the donor refused, simply because there was no indication of
this in the close out document. If close out activities are not performed before closing the project the
risks are very highly likely to have more threats than opportunities.

Igor Gouzenko s Involvement In The Cold War
After the Second World War ended, when Canada and her Allies were still celebrating victory over
Germany, a young Russian cipher clerk named Igor Gouzenko walked out of the Soviet Embassy in
Ottawa with secret papers stuffed under his shirt and headed straight for the offices of a city
newspaper. His unprecedented action would awaken the people of North America to the magnitude
and the danger of Soviet espionage and change the course of the twentieth century. Gouzenko was the
beginning of the Cold War for public opinion and he did play a role in Canada s involvement in the
war, however, Canada became directly involved in the Cold War due to communist fears, nuclear

Canada already provided raw material, including uranium one from a northern mine which may have
been used in the construction of the atom bomb that was dropped on Hiroshima in 1945 and in order
to be influential, Canada had to contribute to continental or European defence in a meaningful way,
and many allies believed this could be done only with nuclear weapons . Of note, Canada had

Violent Media Violence On Young Youth And Teenagers
How has violence in the mass media affect young youth and teenagers in their daily life in today s
society? Violence in the Mass Media is shaping young youth and teenager s brains in their early aged
of life, impacting their daily lives and delivering the wrong message. The media are sure the
messenger but not always it delivers a healthy a message. Violence in the mass media is leading young
youth and teenagers to think violence is acceptable, they commit crimes in society, and violence in the
mass media will result in emotional desensitization.
Firstly, Violence in the mass media leads young youths to think violence is acceptable to society by all
the violence in the cartoon they see. In the article Children and Media Violence it states, What mainly
distinguishes children s cartoon from adult s program is that animated characters are repeatedly
smashed, stabbed, run over, and pushed off high cliffs, but they do not stay dead for long (Wass).
When young youth sees this they think if they cause harm to other children it will be acceptable. They
see the violence in their favorite cartoon, they smashed others kills others and they are still alive.
Young youth may think if their favorite cartoon does harm and there is no consequently. They can
make the same and get the same results, but they are in a huge mistake. In real life if you smashed
someone they will be in critical status, if they kill someone they sure will be dead forever and will
have serious consequences.

Personal Note On Sexual Violence
Assignment Turnitin Week 3

Assignment Turnitin Week 3
Identify and briefly describe the two specific types of individual, couple, and/or family crisis
situations you have selected.
In the assignment application, I have identified partner violence and lethality as the two types of crisis
situations to discuss about. Partner violence may occur in three different forms. First, Physical
violence which involves intentional use of physical force with the aim of causing harm, injury,
disability or death. Physical violence may also involve activities such as biting, slapping, choking,
punching, burning, using a weapon to inflict pain, shoving, throwing as well as using restrains on one
body. Secondly, Sexual violence which generally refers to involuntary sexual act in which a person is
physically compelled or coerced to engage against their will. This violence does no necessary require
sexual intimacy and can occur between same sex couples and heterosexual couples (Baldry Winkel,
2008). This may occur in three main ways: By use of excessive physical force to compel an individual
to engage into a sexual act which is contrary to his or her will, forcible sexual act to a victim who is
unable to resist or understand the nature of the situation in order communicate his /her unwillingness
to engage in the sexual act and finally the abusive sexual contact (Garcia McManimon, 2010). Thirdly,

Volunteering Rough Draft
Every successful individual knows that his or her achievement depends on a community of persons
working together (Ryan). These words said by Speaker of the House Paul Ryan, reflects the words my
parents would always say to me when I was little. I would donate old clothes that did not fit, or toys I
did not play with anymore. Every summer I would volunteer at my town s public library, as well as at
my church. However, as I got older, doing the simple tasks at the library felt tedious and uninteresting
so I stopped volunteering for a while. There were times when I had spare time that could have and
should have been put to use volunteering, but I did not have the motivation. However, after being
inducted into my High School s National Honors Society, I needed volunteer hours in order to remain
in it. This was the motivation I needed to begin volunteering again.
I decided to give back to one of my passions, hockey. The hockey community has always had
volunteer coaches come to help out at practices. In fact, the younger player always look up to the
volunteer coaches and are always so ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Being a goalie, Mr. Robert Jaffe, the head coach, paired me up with a special needs goalie named
Josh. He was a fifteen year old, which was the same age as me at the time. Mr. Jaffe told me that Josh
had autism, but was very easy to work with. When I met Josh, he looked so excited to see me. After
talking with him briefly, I could tell that he had a true passion for the game and really wanted to
improve. I was very impressed that despite his disabilities he was able to physically perform a very
involved task. Mr. Jaffe told me that Josh had improved a great deal since last year and that he
expected me to help him continue to improve. This made things a little more meaningful for me
because now it was not just a job but a

Report on Chemical composition and Structure of CSH

Introduction:
The C S H gel is the most abundant reaction product in cement, occupying about half of the paste
volume, it is also responsible for most of the properties of cement paste. This is just not because it is a
strong or stable phase but because it forms a continuous layer that binds the cement particles together.
All the other hydration products of cement form discrete crystals that are naturally strong but do not
have good connections to the solid phases they are in contact with hence cannot contribute much to
the overall strength of the cement paste. C S H gel gets the ability of the to act as a binding phase from
its nanometer level structure.
As C S H gel grows outward from the cement particles, it does not form a single large block or
monolithic solid phase but instead develops a complex internal system of tiny pores, called gel pores.
Gel pores are hundreds or thousands of times smaller than the original capillary pores which are
relatively large. The liquid water present in the gel pores is not part of the solid C S H phase
chemically but it is physically isolated, thus it cannot undergo any further chemical reaction with the
cement.
When hydrated cement paste is observed under microscope at moderate level of magnification, we
could see two apparently different types of C S H gel. One of these gel is less dense and more porous
that appears to occupy

Matthew And John Comparison
Honors 151 Exam 2 The gospels are meant to serve as a recollection of Jesus life and ministry.
Although they are placed together at the beginning of the New Testament, the gospels of Mark,
Matthew, Luke, and John differ from one another. Matthew and Luke begin with the accounts of Jesus
conception and birth, while Mark and John introduce us to an older Jesus prophesized by John the
Baptist. There is also a major difference between the gospels of Matthew, Mark, and Luke versus that
of John. For the former three, it is hypothesized that Mark was the first gospel to be written, and that
Matthew and Luke wrote their accounts with the gospel of Mark and a lost document, referred to as Q,
as sources (Oxford Christian Dictionary, 2005). This ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The main difference would be the setting of each discourse. The Sermon on the Mount was conducted
on top a hill that overlooked a huge crowd that had gathered to listen to Jesus (Mt 5:1 2). Compared to
the more private setting of the Last Supper, in which Jesus is gathered around a table with his
disciples, the Sermon on the Mount renders a public account of Jesus. As a public figure, Jesus
accommodated his teachings that day to refer to the human condition and the law. He gives the crowd
a disclaimer at the very beginning when he mentions that he has not come to abolish the law, but to
fulfill it (Mt 5:17). He then goes on to advise the crowd on how to handle anger, adultery, divorce,
oaths, retaliation, and enemies. In doing so, he relates each subject back to the law and explains a new
point for each and how it fulfills God s overall commandment. An example of this is when he
mentions how the law says that you are to love your neighbor and hate your enemy, but God
commands that you pray for your prosecutors and love those who hate you (Mt 5:43 45). This further
reinforces the point that the kingdom that Jesus preaches of is not achieved by following the world s
rules, but only those of God. This example also correlates back to the passage in which Jesus washes
the disciples feet. He lowers himself to the position of a servant in order to teach them a lesson of
humility and

Putting Fins On A Rocket
When working with fins on a rocket they are there to not only help the rocket balance but also to
propel it into the air. The purpose of putting fins on a rocket is to provide a stabability during flight
that is and intended flight path.If a typical amateur rocket was launched without fins, it would soon
begin to tumble after leaving the launcher because it doesnt have the stababily to continue its flight in
the right path without it just faaling back to the ground with the force of gravity dragging it.Most
rockets have some kind of fin system in the back to help stabilize the rocket. This is true for any kind
of rocket, whether it is a missile, hobby rocket or space rocket. The size and the shape of the fin on the
rocket affects the overall performance, speed and height that the rocket obtains.

The Non Profit Organizations
Grand Junction, Colorado is a town in Western Colorado that has taken steps to excel in the health
care field by providing cost effective and efficient care to their community. In lecture this week, we
have learned that the key system concepts are: shared vision, shared reality, people, parts,
interrelationships, leverage, adaptability and iterative learning.1 The article: Grand Junction,
Colorado: A Health Community That Works, is an example of a patient centered medical home that
currently exists in the United States, and should be looked at as a possible solution to our current
health care overspending crisis. I believe that the health care provided in Grand Junction, Colorado
has excelled in all these concepts and will discuss their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Shared Reality: Not only did the medical community share a vision, they also shared data through the
Quality Health Network (QHN)2. They developed an IT system that is still in the infancy stages in the
rest of the United States where data is shared between various providers. There is a common network
that providers are able to log into and see other providers notes and care plans. This sharing of
information has decreased the performance of duplicate tests/procedures and has decreased the costs
and increased the quality of care that patients in the Grand Junction community receive. The
information in the shared data system was also used to promote transparency of data on physician
performance to formulate a health care model that focused on the patient and through peer pressure,
caused the providers to strive for better outcomes. People: We have learned that the United States is
lacking providers in the primary care field but Grand Junction actually has an increased number of
PCPs in their community, and this has allowed them to manage their patient s care more in depth.2
Having the social service groups to assist with necessary patient follow up and home care has also
worked favorably for them. In addition, they have highly motivated individuals that are seeking to
make a change in the way that health care is delivered. This is the most important aspect of the whole
system, because without these vital players, the system would

Analysis Of Waiting For Godot
Throughout Samuel Beckett s Waiting For Godot, a deceptively simplistic tale of two men waiting for
the arrival of a seemingly divide entity uncovers the truth of mankind s existence. Estragon and
Vladimir, the two protagonists, are stuck in a vicious cycle of hopeful waiting, only to find that Godot,
the mysteriously omnipresent and omniscient being in the play, never arrives. While they patiently
anticipate his arrival, they encounter a type of bondage that illustrates the very significance of
insignificance as illustrated through Pozzo and his human slave, Lucky. All four characters are
destined to acknowledge the nonexistence of life itself, each being on his own path to a sacred state of
endless acceptance that is ultimately reflective of mankind in its entirety. The ritualistic waiting
illustrated by Vladimir and Estragon is a portrayal of how mankind s attempts to accept
meaninglessness are futile due to a nebulous force that constantly drives the characters. Unlike Pozzo
and Lucky, Vladimir and Estragon essentially cannot leave the stage of life because they continually
embrace the notion of hope associated with the eventual arrival of the God like Godot: VLADIMIR:
Well? What do we do? ESTRAGON: Don t let s do anything. It s safer. VLADIMIR: Let s wait and
see what he says. ESTRAGON: Who? VLADIMIR: Godot. ESTRAGON: Good idea. (13)
The two characters faithfully and religiously cling onto their expectations of Godot through a kind of
prayer in hopes that

The Prevalence Of Parkinson s Disease
Individuals worldwide are affected by Parkinson s disease. Parkinson s is a chronic disorder with
onset of symptoms occurring at a mean age of 60 years. The prevalence of Parkinson s increases with
age and may affect up to 5% of individuals over 79 years old. (Tosin, Campos, Andrade, Oliveira,
Santana, 2015). Those affected by the disease, experience impairments in movement, balance, and
have difficulty performing everyday life tasks. Due to posture deficits and gait dysfunction, patients
with Parkinson s have an increased risk of falling which may lead to secondary health problems.
Although exercise programs have been implemented to decrease falls, few programs are proven
successful. (Li, Harmer, Fitzgerald, Eckstrom, Stock, Galver, Maddalozzo, Batya, 2012). In order to
find an effective program in decreasing falls, nurses are performing various rehabilitation
interventions that focus on improving postural stability. Two examples of interventions include Qi
Gong and Tai Chi. Qi Gong is a mindful exercise that effects neuroplasticity in the brain and can have
an effect on the postural instability that Parkinson s patients experience (Loftus, 2014). Tai Chi is a
balance based exercise that may have an effect on muscle strength and stability for those living with
Parkinson s (Li, et al., 2012). Qi Gong and Tai Chi are two rehabilitation interventions that nurses are
implementing to prove whether or not complementary exercise programs improve posture enough to

What Are Friends For By Marion Winik Analysis
Webber, Timothy R Dr. Umrani, Deborah English 1301 15 February 2016 People you may know A
friend can be defined as a person one likes and enjoys being with. Using this definition as a basis,
almost anyone someone meets may be considered as a friend. Given the vast amount of people that
have the potential to be a friend, I believe that it is important to classify these people into some easily
understandable categories. In her essay, What Are Friends For? Marion Winik does an admirable job
of placing the people in her life into categories based on what those people meant to her. Two of the
many categories she talks about are Buddies, and the Relative Friend. In this essay, I will talk about
these two types of friends using examples from ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Trip Before The First Year Of My College
I have always looked forward to traveling to London. This is because of the exciting stories I heard
from my friends. From the stories, I heard that London accommodated the best museums, and other
historical places. I planned and decided to take the trip before the first year of my college. I have not
traveled alone outside the United States of America so I scheduled the visit to London late October
2014. Before traveling, I bought the travel card via online. I ensured I had paid for my return ticket.
This timing turned out to be perfect because my cousin who resides in London invited me to his place,
it was an opportunity for me to spend my vacation with him in London. I ensured that I had sufficient
cash. After confirming my reservation, I had a mixed feeling of travelling alone. On getting into the
aircraft, my heart was panting because I was faced with challenges of unknown fear. I encouraged
myself that I can make it down to London without any problem. The plane ride was fun and I arrived
to my desired city on a Monday, collected my luggage from the claiming point at Heathrow. My
cousin waited patiently to welcome me, as soon as I saw him my heart was filled with joy that I finally
made it alone to London. My cousin rushed and hugged me, took my luggage and we headed to the
tube which is the equivalent to the underground subway in New York City but it s much cleaner and
more organized in London so, we rode for an hour to get to his house which was located in the

  • 2. Why Recreational Hunting Of Western Canada Is Morally... In his letter titled Why Recreational Hunting in Western Canada is Morally Justified, Sven states that he is arguing for responsible hunting where the primary benefits are the pleasure of hunting animals in the wilderness and eating their meat. Despite several strengths, his weaknesses in reasoning outweigh the few positives. Thus, the letter s overall worth is negligible. The letter s weaknesses in reasoning lie in Sven s central justifications for recreational hunting, being human pleasure and eating meat, in his supporting argument for animal suffering, and in his failure to define recreational hunting s necessity. To begin, I will address the strengths of Sven s letter. The first strength is that Sven defines his argument s parameters, allowing him to eliminate several counterarguments against his claim. Sven specifies that the hunting type he argues for does not include killing for protection or sustenance, nor negligent hunting practices that promote needless harm to humans, property, or wildlife. Additionally, Sven rejects using bait or vehicles. Sven s most significant strength is when he defines the moral relationship between humans and animals, stating, [a]nimals deserve respect, but so do humans, and when there is conflict of interests, the interest that humans have in feeding their families must prevail. Stuart Rachels, in his evaluation of Utilitarianism, argues that humans are special in many ways but are not the only beings capable of suffering, and thus ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Native American Asimilation Of Native Americans The film opens with the Native American victory at Little Big Horn over General Custer and his men on June 25, 1876. Custer s death and the Native American win sparked rage from the U.S. government and led them to redraw territories so that the gold filled Black Hills would not be included in the reservation land. The event of the movie focus on the government s attempts to steal this land and the resistance of the Native Americans. 1) Who was Charles Eastman and what were the contending forces that shaped him throughout the film? Charles Eastman is born mixed race and grows up in a tribe under the name OhÍyesa in the Dakotas until he is reunited with his father who had converted to Christianity and changed his name to Jacob Eastman as part of assimilating into the United States like the U.S. government desired. Charles is educated in schools with white teachers put forth to facilitate the assimilation of Native Peoples. He is very bright and goes on to study at Dartmouth and Boston University medical school. Throughout his education he remembers his past and wants to make life for Native Americans better. He remembers his Native American people and their struggle but is also distanced from in and surrounded by white society. He is trusted by the powerful white men that he forms business friendships with while they try to use him to help in their exploitation and assimilation of the Natives by praising him and advancing his European American style education. • 4. Outside Beauty And Staying Forever Young Outside beauty and staying forever young are the newest trends among today s society. Women are the highest percentage of this trend because women have been conditioned at young age to believe outer beauty is unsurpassed. Plastic or cosmetic surgery in the past has been kept hushed, never knowing did she have her nose worked on? Today plastic surgery is being embraced by the millions and highly looked upon. Recently a friend of mine had a breast augmentation. Her argument was the need to feel more confident in her own body. She felt out of proportion to the rest of her body. Young and old women today feel the need to look like Barbie, which undoubtedly comes from the need to replicate their favorite celebrities. Other causes for plastic or cosmetic surgery come from low self esteem issues, sexual satisfaction and the need to be accepted as beautiful. For Instance, in 2000 more than 6.3 million women went under the knife by surgeons certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, says the American Society of Plastic Surgeons statistics. The five most popular invasive surgical procedures for women in 2000 were liposuction, eyelid surgery, nose reshaping, breast augmentation and facelift (ASPS statistics). There were nearly 11.9 million surgical and non surgical cosmetic procedures performed in 2004, according to the most comprehensive survey to date of U.S. physicians and surgeons by the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS Statistics). When I was a kid, me and my dad lived in Florida. On the weekends we would go out boating. Crystal clear water all around, the smell of the sea filling your nose, the not as pleasant taste of salt water in your mouth. Going out on the ocean was the best part of being there. When we moved we lost all that. We went to Greybull, Wyoming, a small town where my father grew up. I made a few friends and we all had lots of fun together. My dad was usually working, fixing the house or out on a job. Most of the time he took me with him and I helped out. During the winter we would go out to the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. In Defense of Liberty and Individuality Essay In Defense of Liberty and Individuality It is a little known fact that for the past century, every American president has been given a copy of John Stuart Mill s On Liberty[1] upon entering office. Since its publication in 1859, On Liberty s discussions of liberty and individuality have been a foundation for modern Western political thought and for the liberal democracy. Mill brings to light a unique perspective on the relationship between liberty and individuality, and in the end, on tolerance. According to Mill, individual liberty should be limited by one, and only one thing: the self preservation of society and other individuals. To that end, man should be free to act and even more so to think in any form he wishes, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The aim, therefore, of patriots, was to set limits to the power which the ruler should be suffered to exercise over the community; and this limitation was what they meant by liberty (On Liberty, 4). These reforms were leading to the democratization of culture and government the transition that Mill sees around him putting power in the hands of the people. This was supposed to remove the possibility of tyranny, but Mill is not convinced. He sees two types of tyranny unaccounted for: tyranny of the majority, where the many persecute the few, and tyranny of public opinion, in which society seeks to impose a set of values on everyone. [T]he tyranny of the majority is now generally included among the evils against which society requires to be on guard (On Liberty, 6). Mill sees the need for laws to protect against both types of tyranny. After noting that many nations have tried and failed at this feat, he offers his own solution. Society or an individual may interfere with individual rights if and only if it is necessary to protect itself. [T]he sole end for which mankind are warranted, individually or collectively, in interfering with the liberty of action of any of their members, is self protection...[h]is own good, either physical or moral, is not a sufficient warrant (On Liberty, 11). Mill uses a Hobbesian notion of self preservation as the cornerstone of his ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. How Is Hester Prynne Cruel In the classic novel The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne, protagonist Hester Prynne gives birth to an illegitimate daughter and is forced to wear the letter A on her breast stitched in scarlet and gold as punishment. She keeps the father, Reverend Arthur Dimmesdale, a secret even after questioning. This leaves him burdened by the guilt he feels for not serving the same punishment as her. Meanwhile Roger Chillingworth, her husband, enters town as the new physician and looks for revenge. Hawthorne s work repeatedly portraits Hester as a victim of overly harsh punishment and unfair expectations, in this case based on sexuality, made at the hands of a patriarchal society. Hester Prynne is a victim of unduly extreme discipline for her act of adultery. She is sentenced to a lifetime of wearing a beautifully stitched letter A on whatever she wore and three hours of standing on the town s scaffold to be publicly shamed. Statements like they should have put the brand of a hot iron on Hester Prynne s forehead (Hawthorne 60) were uttered of her as she served her punishment. If the lifetime of humiliation wasn t enough, her child was almost taken from her too. A meeting between Governor Bellingham, Reverend Wilson, Reverend Dimmesdale, and Roger Chillingworth was held to discuss the caretaking ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The character with disability, Raymond Babbitt, is institutionalized for autism after a dangerous hot water accident that involved his younger brother, Charlie Babbitt. The two meet unexpectedly after the death of their father and embark on an adventure full of frustrations and reconnection. This was an original screen play by Barry Morrow and Ronald Bass (Rain Man (1988)) Raymond Babbitt s world is very narrow because of his institutional upbringing and lack of social interaction. He does not have the social skills or comprehension needed to hold down a job, nor does he have a strong grasp of reality and the complexity of society. It is stated by his doctor that Raymond does not have the capability to express his feelings; therefore, he is unable to relate and understand human life as the typically developing person would. Raymond functions almost robotically, consistently needing a strict schedule. This being said, Raymond is extremely dependent on the caretakers at the institution for everything in his life, including his meals and bedtime schedule. • 9. Quantitative Study Of Heat And Enthalpy Changes PART A Thermochemistry is the quantitative study of heat and enthalpy changes in chemical reactions. Enthalpy (H) ... is a measure of the total energy possessed by a substance or group of substances. (Smith 2006, pp. 289). The change in enthalpy (∆H) of a substance is defined as the heat absorbed or released during a chemical reaction. A car motor works by converting petrol, also known as chemical energy, to kinetic energy, therefore assisting with the movement of a car. A chemical reaction, known as combustion, occurs in the car motor. A combustion reaction consists of a hydrocarbon reacting with oxygen (O2) to give the products carbon dioxide (CO2) and water (H2O). A hydrocarbon is a compound consisting simply of Hydrogen (H2) and Carbon (C), methane (CH4) and diesel (C12H23) are examples of a hydrocarbon. The chemical equation for a combustion reaction is as follows: Hydrocarbon + Oxygen  Carbon Dioxide + Water. The combustion reaction of methane (CH4) is: CH4 (g) + 2O2 (g)  CO2 (g) + 2H2O (l), the combustion reaction of ethane is: 2C2H6 (g) + 7O2 (g)  4 CO2 (g) + 6 H2O (l) and the combustion reaction for butane is 2C4H10 (g) +13O2 (g)  8CO2 (g) +10H2O (g). If combustion takes place internally, the engine is referred to as an internal combustion engine. A diesel engine is an example of this. Internal combustion engines convert the chemical energy in fuel to mechanical energy via an exothermic reaction. An internal combustion engine, mainly consists of a ... • 10. Causes And Consequences Of The War Of 1812 The war of 1812 was also known as the second War of Independence , for some it may even be known as the Forgotten War . It was an important conflict with long lasting consequences, especially for the Native Americans in North America. The main cause of the war was America s desire to expand its territory (history.com war of 1812 ). Just like everything else in America s history people were greedy and always wanted more. More land equals more workers which equals more money. Native Americans did not own land, land was known Mother Earth, everyone shared all she had to offer, nothing was taken for granted, nothing was wasted, everything had its own importance. When new settlers came to the Americas they were looking for new land, new territory for their settlements. Some did not know that the land already had settlers; Natives. Think of when you have visitors at your home, are you welcoming? Most of the time you are. That is exactly how the natives were with these new settlers. Though they did not speak the same language the natives offered a helping hand, just to get spit on in return. Not literally, but figuratively, the new settlers seen natives as people that could be changed. So that s what they did, they tried to assimilate the Indians teaching them the white man s ways. Many Indians did not know what was happening at the time and others caught on causing many uproars. The War of 1812 is just another one of those uproars. • 14. African American s Access For Counseling And... I aim to analyze the disparity in African American s access to counseling psychological services. According to literature such as Andre Bean s An examination of factors that contribute to African Americans inability to seek professional psychological help , Black people under use mental health services. This coupled with an ubiquitous stigma on psychological services impacts how Black people navigate the space of mental health. I am interested in exploring how social media represents the changing attitude of mental health. Furthermore, I am hoping to unpack how the shifting of public discourse influences and materializes policy in providing access to African Americans. Historically, Black Americans have been reluctant to pursue mental health treatment. Bean (2007) details how cultural tensions, Black religiosity, gender role dynamics, and African American history with mental health has lead to current negative perceptions of counseling and psychological services in African American communities. Bean (2007) conducted this study by sampling 194 African American students of Tennessee State University and an additional 94 Black residents of a neighboring community of Nashville, TN. The author s participants completed tests measuring Cultural Mistrust Inventory (CMI), Religious Orientation Scale (ROS), Gender Role Conflict Scale (GCRS) and Attitudes toward Seeking Professional Psychological Help Scale (ATSPPH). • 15. That Summer Book Report Diving into Change The fictional novel entitled That Summer was written by author, Sarah Dessen. It was published in 1996 as her first book to be sold. Dessen states, It was actually the third one I wrote, after a terrible book I did in college and one that was marginally better the year after. I never intended That Summer to be a YA (young adult) book while I was writing it (Sarah Dessen, n. d.). She then goes on to state how her publisher believed it would be a good book for teenagers, so, she gave it a shot, and allowed it to be published. According to UNCTV, Sarah Dessen grew up in Chapel Hill, North Carolina and attended UNC Chapel Hill, graduating with the highest honors in Creative Writing. She is the author of several novels and has a motion picture based on her first two books, entitled How to Deal. Her 11th novel, The Moon and More, was published in June 2013. She currently lives in North Carolina (UNCTV, 2006). That Summer was inspired by Dessen s interest in writing about what she describes as the change in youth s personality as they go through some sort of tragedy or loss (Sarah Dessen, n. d.). Entering any preschool program, your child won t have the luxury of constant individual attention, meaning they will have no choice but to sink or swim. Since you want them to swim, start giving them room to self resolve issues now, while they still have you as a safety net. Before long, they ll understand that if they want some problems solved, they have to put on their thinking caps, use patience and take matters into their own little hands. If it seems hard for you to cease the hoovering, just wait until you feel the total exhilaration of watching your child accomplish something all on their own; it s such a breath taking moment for parents, you ll automatically start giving them more room to act independently in many instances. 3. • 18. The Legend Of Robin Hood In Anglo-Saxon Lore The legend of Robin Hood in Anglo Saxon lore represents the people s hero. The histories and other few writings focused on the great deeds of high kings, lords and knights; English folk lore gave little attention to the commoner. That is with the notable exception of the yeoman Robin Hood. English peasants heard the tale of Robin Hood s charismatic rebellion against strict hierarchy and rejoiced. Robin was the original rebel, the original adventurer, and the hero all Englishmen identified with. For this reason, Robin Hood has remained a key figure in the collective mythos of the English and of their cultural children. To understand the importance of Robin Hood and his adventures, one must first appreciate the extremely mundane lives of the typical English peasant farmer. Born into duty and loyalty, calcified feudalism forced the serfs to work the land on which they were born for little profit and gain for a lifetime. Most were illiterate, uneducated, and highly provincial. A serf s purpose was to remain loyal to his lord and to toil obediently farming the land until death. Even the prospect of climbing into nobility oneself was impossible. God had made serfs into serfs and lords into lords. To rebel against one s station in life was to rebel against God. In other words, serfs had nothing to strive for in the socioeconomic order of medieval England. These fettered minds gave birth to a hero that captured the hopes and dreams that themselves they could never achieve. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Technicolor in Animated and Live Action Film: Bambi (1942) and Becky Sharp (1935) Colour, especially by today s audiences, is considered to be a staple in a film s mise en scene. It is generally thought to be an attraction today if a film does not have colour, and it influences many different readings of films. However, it was not always considered to be such an essential part of cinema. In the early days of Technicolor, specifically in the mid 30s to early 40s, colour added to the aesthetic of film. Specifically, the colour aesthetics of animated film and live action film created different readings of their respective films. For example, colour in Bambi (1942) was used to compliment and indicate the setting and the tone and/or mood at specific points in the narrative, as well as to indicate when important events were occurring in the film. These elements of the narrative are shown through the colours of certain scenes themselves and the vibrancy of the colours. So with the help of the colours in the film, the film itself can be read as a growing up tale . In comparison, a live action film, Becky Sharp (1935), colour is used in a contrasting way to emphasize certain parts of the narrative, such as specific characters or themes in the film. In this case, the help of the colours can help emphasize the main character of the film, Becky Sharp, in her journey to climb the social ranks of the nineteenth century. In animated film, especially in terms of Walt Disney s animated ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 20. Omaha Beach Landing Case Analysis The purpose of this paper is to analyze an alternate outcome to the Omaha Beach landing in Normandy, France. On June 6, 1944, the U.S. conducted an assault into Nazi occupied France. The Nazi s terrain advantage and overwhelming forces at Omaha Beach nearly defeated the assault. Applying SIGINT and HUMINT assets to discover the Nazi s had reinforced the beach, the U.S. could have justified increased bombing runs and heavy naval gunfire prior to the assault. This would have increased U.S. lethality, decreased the loss of life and equipment, and decreased the time it took to advance through the objective. The U.S. was part of Operation Neptune, an amphibious assault on Normandy. The operation was part of a larger military action called ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Germans had emplaced multiple types of obstacles along the beach and in the cliffs above. Emplaced in the sand and shale were anti tank and anti personnel mines, barbed and concertina wire. In the cliffs above the Germans had emplaced bunkers, machine gun nests, tank turrets, and connecting tunnels. German defense weapons included 35 pill boxes, 60 light artillery pieces, 18 anti tank guns, 85 machine gun emplacements, 38 rocket emplacements, and the basic weapons for 12,000 German Soldiers. Any obstruction of enemy fields of fire were removed, providing German forces with complete coverage of the landing zone. Perhaps most important to the defense of Omaha Beach was who defended it. The 352 Infantry Division were one of the toughest and most disciplined in the German Army. Of the 12,000+ Soldiers present, 6,800 were combat tested in previous battles with the Soviets. The importance of performing close out activities before closing the project and the business risks associated with skipping these activities John Constance MSc in Project Management, University of Liverpool Week 5 Discussion Question Abstract Most projects are initiated, planned, executed and monitored and controlled with the full cognizant of executives and clients. Conclusion The risk of skipping planned project activities as listed by Robert Wysocki (2009, pp.283 288) is a big threat for the likelihood of future problems. This is the case with 2 projects in South Sudan. The first had close out problems because client condition of satisfaction for deliverables was not documented at the start of the project, nor was it tracked, updated, discussed and agreed. During close out, senior management from the client and contractor blamed each other for not having a plan making close out a war of words to be settled by an Arbitrator. Also, another project, although with a documented close out plan that was reviewed and updated on a monthly basis, did not include an agreement as to who would be the receptor of project asset. This brought chaos during closure when government claimed all assets should be turn over to them and the donor refused, simply because there was no indication of this in the close out document. If close out activities are not performed before closing the project the risks are very highly likely to have more threats than opportunities. The media are sure the messenger but not always it delivers a healthy a message. Violence in the mass media is leading young youth and teenagers to think violence is acceptable, they commit crimes in society, and violence in the mass media will result in emotional desensitization. Firstly, Violence in the mass media leads young youths to think violence is acceptable to society by all the violence in the cartoon they see. In the article Children and Media Violence it states, What mainly distinguishes children s cartoon from adult s program is that animated characters are repeatedly smashed, stabbed, run over, and pushed off high cliffs, but they do not stay dead for long (Wass). When young youth sees this they think if they cause harm to other children it will be acceptable. They see the violence in their favorite cartoon, they smashed others kills others and they are still alive. Young youth may think if their favorite cartoon does harm and there is no consequently. Personal Note On Sexual Violence Assignment Turnitin Week 3 Institution: Name: Assignment Turnitin Week 3 Identify and briefly describe the two specific types of individual, couple, and/or family crisis situations you have selected. In the assignment application, I have identified partner violence and lethality as the two types of crisis situations to discuss about. Partner violence may occur in three different forms. First, Physical violence which involves intentional use of physical force with the aim of causing harm, injury, disability or death. Physical violence may also involve activities such as biting, slapping, choking, punching, burning, using a weapon to inflict pain, shoving, throwing as well as using restrains on one body. Secondly, Sexual violence which generally refers to involuntary sexual act in which a person is physically compelled or coerced to engage against their will. This violence does no necessary require sexual intimacy and can occur between same sex couples and heterosexual couples (Baldry Winkel, 2008). This may occur in three main ways: By use of excessive physical force to compel an individual to engage into a sexual act which is contrary to his or her will, forcible sexual act to a victim who is unable to resist or understand the nature of the situation in order communicate his /her unwillingness to engage in the sexual act and finally the abusive sexual contact (Garcia McManimon, 2010). • 26. Report On Chemical Composition And Structure Of Csh CE 2020: Construction Materials Report on Chemical composition and Structure of CSH Arjit Soni ES13B1005 Introduction: The C S H gel is the most abundant reaction product in cement, occupying about half of the paste volume, it is also responsible for most of the properties of cement paste. This is just not because it is a strong or stable phase but because it forms a continuous layer that binds the cement particles together. All the other hydration products of cement form discrete crystals that are naturally strong but do not have good connections to the solid phases they are in contact with hence cannot contribute much to the overall strength of the cement paste. C S H gel gets the ability of the to act as a binding phase from its nanometer level structure. As C S H gel grows outward from the cement particles, it does not form a single large block or monolithic solid phase but instead develops a complex internal system of tiny pores, called gel pores. Gel pores are hundreds or thousands of times smaller than the original capillary pores which are relatively large. The liquid water present in the gel pores is not part of the solid C S H phase chemically but it is physically isolated, thus it cannot undergo any further chemical reaction with the cement. When hydrated cement paste is observed under microscope at moderate level of magnification, we could see two apparently different types of C S H gel. One of these gel is less dense and more porous that appears to occupy ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Although they are placed together at the beginning of the New Testament, the gospels of Mark, Matthew, Luke, and John differ from one another. Matthew and Luke begin with the accounts of Jesus conception and birth, while Mark and John introduce us to an older Jesus prophesized by John the Baptist. There is also a major difference between the gospels of Matthew, Mark, and Luke versus that of John. The Sermon on the Mount was conducted on top a hill that overlooked a huge crowd that had gathered to listen to Jesus (Mt 5:1 2). Compared to the more private setting of the Last Supper, in which Jesus is gathered around a table with his disciples, the Sermon on the Mount renders a public account of Jesus. As a public figure, Jesus accommodated his teachings that day to refer to the human condition and the law. He gives the crowd a disclaimer at the very beginning when he mentions that he has not come to abolish the law, but to fulfill it (Mt 5:17). He then goes on to advise the crowd on how to handle anger, adultery, divorce, oaths, retaliation, and enemies. In doing so, he relates each subject back to the law and explains a new point for each and how it fulfills God s overall commandment. An example of this is when he mentions how the law says that you are to love your neighbor and hate your enemy, but God commands that you pray for your prosecutors and love those who hate you (Mt 5:43 45). This further reinforces the point that the kingdom that Jesus preaches of is not achieved by following the world s rules, but only those of God. This example also correlates back to the passage in which Jesus washes the disciples feet. He lowers himself to the position of a servant in order to teach them a lesson of humility and ... Analysis Of Waiting For Godot Throughout Samuel Beckett s Waiting For Godot, a deceptively simplistic tale of two men waiting for the arrival of a seemingly divide entity uncovers the truth of mankind s existence. Estragon and Vladimir, the two protagonists, are stuck in a vicious cycle of hopeful waiting, only to find that Godot, the mysteriously omnipresent and omniscient being in the play, never arrives. While they patiently anticipate his arrival, they encounter a type of bondage that illustrates the very significance of insignificance as illustrated through Pozzo and his human slave, Lucky. All four characters are destined to acknowledge the nonexistence of life itself, each being on his own path to a sacred state of endless acceptance that is ultimately reflective of mankind in its entirety. The ritualistic waiting illustrated by Vladimir and Estragon is a portrayal of how mankind s attempts to accept meaninglessness are futile due to a nebulous force that constantly drives the characters. Unlike Pozzo and Lucky, Vladimir and Estragon essentially cannot leave the stage of life because they continually embrace the notion of hope associated with the eventual arrival of the God like Godot: VLADIMIR: Well? What do we do? ESTRAGON: Don t let s do anything. It s safer. VLADIMIR: Let s wait and see what he says. ESTRAGON: Who? VLADIMIR: Godot. ESTRAGON: Good idea. The prevalence of Parkinson s increases with age and may affect up to 5% of individuals over 79 years old. (Tosin, Campos, Andrade, Oliveira, Santana, 2015). Those affected by the disease, experience impairments in movement, balance, and have difficulty performing everyday life tasks. Due to posture deficits and gait dysfunction, patients with Parkinson s have an increased risk of falling which may lead to secondary health problems. Although exercise programs have been implemented to decrease falls, few programs are proven successful. (Li, Harmer, Fitzgerald, Eckstrom, Stock, Galver, Maddalozzo, Batya, 2012). In order to find an effective program in decreasing falls, nurses are performing various rehabilitation interventions that focus on improving postural stability. Two examples of interventions include Qi Gong and Tai Chi.
