Network Visibility And Its Effect On The Environment Essay
5. Expectations for a complete suit network visibility network visibility is critical in taming breaches
of security in businesses and organizations. Breaches such as those witnessed in leading retail brands
such as Target and Staples are happening because most network security designs in use today have not
adapted to the more forceful dynamic access and threat environment. In addition, the reduction in
network visibility is what has curtailed the ability of retail brands to fully secure their network assets.
The shift to complete network visibility will benefit networking vendors who are keen on providing
complete network visibility requirements and high compute capacity solutions. Viable Solutions to
Networking Challenges Cloud Cloud computing is already at the center of new data center evolution
because large amounts of information can be stored in cloud. It is actually estimated that 1/3 of all
data will go through cloud by 2020. This will lead to a rise in global cloud revenues as well as the
amount of money firms spend on cloud computing and innovation. The development will also see
many organizations come up with ways to enhance cloud infrastructure to enhance compute density,
ultra low latency and power density. The most common networking attributes of cloud include; low
latency, programmable management, scalable, Open APIs and Self healing resilience. Cloud
networking scaling is achieved using topologies from wide ranging nodes that provide non resistive

Reflection Of The Regggio Creativation Observation
Being able to visit one of the Reggio Emilia Schools was the best experience I have had while
learning about this approach so far. This experience helped put everything that we were learning and
discussing earlier in the week into perspective. Today was the day when the Reggio Emilia approach
of teacher started to actually make sense to me in the way that it was implemented, since I was able to
observe the interactions first hand. When I first walked into the school I was amazed by how open and
welcoming it was. I was able to see most of the classroom while just standing in the main area on the
ground floor which was completely different than anything I have seen in any schools in the United
States. We learned at the end of our time exploring and observing the school that the reason that all of
the classrooms are connected or are visible to each other is since their philosophy is that if you have
interconnected spaces then you will have interconnected thoughts. They referred to this as
transparency when discussing it during our debrief. After getting over just how amazing the layout and
environment of this school was, I was able to finally start observing how the interactions and
instruction is implemented in this school. I was able to see how older students and younger students
were able to learn from each other as well as teachers and students learning from each other. In this
school everyone was constantly learning from others by observing, asking questions or just

Lab Report Enzyme Activity
The enzyme lab was used to determine the different factors that could affect the productivity of an
enzyme. In the lab, the reaction between the hydrogen peroxide and the liver was an exothermic
reaction because the temperature of the test tube rose when the hydrogen peroxide was placed into the
liver. Heat is a form of energy and the temperature rose as the reaction progressed. In the test tube B,
the temperature rose from room temperature to around r30ºC showing that it was an exothermic
reaction. I think that the heat from the reactions of the enzymes inside my body keep my body warm
and prevent the environment of these enzymes from becoming too cold and the basic functions of the
body could not be carried out.
There are several factors that affect the productivity of the enzyme. First, the temperature is one of
them. When the liver in the lab was boiled, the enzymes were destroyed and nothing happened and
when the liver was placed into the ice bath, it had a lower reaction rate than the hotter temperatures.
On the other hand, when the temperature was around 37ºC, the enzymes were most effective and made
the largest reaction. pH also had an effect on the productivity of the enzymes. The enzymes in the liver
worked best at neutral pH. When the pH was more acidic or more basic, the enzyme s reaction was
less effective. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In each of the experiments that used dead cells, a reaction occurred and it shows that the catalase were
reacting the hydrogen peroxide. In all the tests that involved once living cells, the reaction occurred
and the hydrogen peroxide was split into water and oxygen. The catalase was not in the same quantity.
For example, the liver had a reaction rate of 3 and the apple had a reaction rate of 1. The liver had
more catalase than the apple because the hydrogen peroxide was broken down faster in the liver
meaning that there are more catalase breaking it

Nicholas II Research Paper
Nicholas II was born on May 6th, 1868 in Pushkin, Russia. He was born Nikolai Aleksandrovich
Romanov. He was the first born of Alexander Alexandrovich and Maria Feodorovna. Maria gave
Nicholas a nurturing family environment to grow up in. While Alexander had a strong influence on
Nicholas. That is where Nicholas got her conservative, religious values and his strong belief in an
autocratic government. He received his education from private tutors which included high ranking
government officials. He excelled in history, foreign languages, but he struggled with economics and

Their worry over Alexei and search for a treatment that worked introduced them to Gregory Rasputin.
Rasputin would cause the Russia people to doubt the Tsar and one of the reasons why the royal family
met their end.
The worst thing that happened during Nicholas rule that led to the end of the monarchy was Bloody
Sunday on January 5th, 1905. Bloody Sunday was when peaceful protestors made up of workers in St.
Petersburg protested about the working conditions and for the establishment of a popular assembly.
Those protestors we fired upon and many were killed.
Nicholas was the forced to create an elected legislature. It was called DUMA. Nicholas still resisted
government reform. He felt that he was ordained by god and he was born to rule.
When World War One came around Nicholas took control of the army. Because of this he spent a lot
of time away from his family and duties in St. Petersburg. While Nicholas was gone, Alexandra fell

Egyptain Foreign Policy In Regards To Israel The United...
The History of the conflict in the Middle East is long and well documented. To both, and to many
biased observers the history of the Egyptian/Israeli conflict is very one sided, with one government, or
one people causing the continued wars between the two neighboring states. But, as any social scientist
of any reputation will state, all international conflicts have more than one side, and usually are the
result of events surrounding, and extending over the parties involved. Thus, using this theory as a
basis, we must assume that the conflict between Israel and Egypt is more complicated than a partial
observer would see it. For the purpose of this paper, we are going to examine the basic factors of

As mentioned, the Egyptians saw the formation of Israel as an Imperialist state, and they were
defending the land for the Palestinians, and more importantly for the newly developing arab unity.
While the United States was not actively involved in the war, either by providing arms or providing
much assistance, their actions did create an interesting and volatile atmosphere. As soon as the state of
Israel was created, the United State quickly recognized the state and started diplomatic relations with
the newly formed government. At the same time, the USSR recognized Israel, not wishing the US to
be seen as the champion for the newly found state. Although there is no definitive proof, one can
assume that Egypt, and the rest of the Arab nations felt the need to quickly react to the situation, in
almost a type of fear that powers outside their Arab influence, such as the United States were quickly
impeding on their territory, by using Israel as a means of their peaceful aggression.
Still, Egypt was clearly the main aggressor in this instance, and was not defending their own territory,
but instead attempting to obtain territory, which they did succeed in acquiring, through the Gaza Strip.
The Egyptian actions quickly set the tone of conflict in the Middle East, giving the Israelis no option
but the take an initial purely military response in defense of their newly formed state. In the minds of
the Israeli leaders, Egypt

The Grandmother In A Good Man Is Hard To Find
O Connor s succeeds to bring out his arguments in this short story to sum up the feeling that in today s
world, societal morals and values have drastically crumbled making the world an inhabitable place.
INTRODUCTION
The author presents his main theme of fate by bringing the reader to a family s holiday which is
unfortunately brought to a sudden end by a murder (O Connor 36). The grandmother argues that the
family should go to Tennessee instead of Florida. Her insistence makes the family to deviate from the
right path in an attempt to look for a fake treasure. The rebelliousness the family exhibits is a sign of
moral decadence. The grandmother s decision makes the family appear like it admires the Misfit. At
the beginning of the story, the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He uses personalities like Misfit to support it. This propping up is evidenced by the use the
grandchildren and Jesus. In the story, the old woman says that she could go with her children
anywhere and could give answer to her consciousness if possible. Finally, this lady comes into a
situation where she tries to give answers to her conscience by frustratingly assuming that Misfit is not
a bad person. Misfit on the other hand insists that indeed he is a bad person (O Connor 36). Misfit
compares himself to Jesus where he says that Jesus suffered for other people s sins just the same way
he got punished for mistakes he never did. The theme that a good man is hard to find undoubtedly
refers to Jesus. This is because Misfit tries to compare himself to Jesus but he finally commits a
murder. The old woman s shaky faith in Jesus is over. By Jesus not delivering her shows that indeed a
good man is hard to

the day indoors. He found a book written by Cornelius Agrippa and he read it. Victor pointed out, I
opened it with apathy; the theory which he attempts to demonstrate, and the wonderful facts which he

Health Information Technology Research Paper
Privacy Relating to Health Information Technology From an American s perspective, privacy is seen
as a natural part of life, yet the particulars of protecting that privacy is much more complex. While
there are ways to keep information secure, such as incognito mode for web search browsers and
options for private accounts in social media, privacy is still able to be violated by hackers and
information slips through companies. The theme of technology in Extra Sensory Perception by
Gershon Dublon and Joseph A. Paradiso and in The Historian as a Participant by Arthur Schlesinger,

efficient ones, and that issues concerning privacy have emerged (Dublon ... Show more content on

The Effects of Homework on Education
Introduction
The debate over homework has become a controversial one throughout the years. Most of the general
population is on the uprise to stop homework, while education providers try to endure its existence.
While the general population see homework as a burden and unnecessary, the real idea of homework
creates an obvious path of success. Part of that path to success is do to the instructors use of
homework in the correct manner. While the other path, is the completion and practice a student puts
forth for the understanding of the topic at hand. We create the sense of, why homework? Previous
research has helped show a usefulness of homework throughout our education system (e.g. Kenny,
2013; Marzano, 2007; Jorgenson, 2013; Griffith, 2013; Dejka, 2014). While research has been
conducted, there is never one concise choice that everyone can agree with. That is why the topic of
homework is of such high debate. The idea of homework, though, gives us the opportunity to expand
our learning and preparing us for what lies ahead.
Background When thinking of homework, we think of the standard definition, schoolwork that student
is required to do at home. Homework being bad is associated in every student s mind. Our thinking
involves that the teacher is just giving us busy work. In truth, the first definition is vague compared to
the true meaning of the term. A more concise description of homework includes, work or study done
in preparation for a certain event or situation.

Pertussis or Whooping Cough Can Lead to Death Essay
Pertussis, commonly known as whooping cough, is a highly contagious respiratory disease caused by
a bacterium, Bordatella pertussis. In 2010 it affected 27, 5501 individuals and was responsible for 262
deaths in the United States. Bordatella pertussis colonizes in the cilia of the respiratory tract3
producing uncontrollable coughing with paroxysms (fits) followed with a high pitched intake of air
creating a whoop sound, posttussive emesis (cough induced vomiting), and exhaustion.3 These
symptoms can last up to 10 weeks.3 Adults can transfer Pertussis to infants who are not fully
immunized, subsequently, they are at a greater risk and may have serious complications from Pertussis
including pneumonia and death.4
As illustrated in the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Also, the analysis depicts the geographic distributions of pertussis mortality across the United States.
During 2000 2010, 184 deaths were directly attributed to pertussis, which occurred only in California,
Pennsylvania and Texas.2 California had the highest morality rate, at 35 deaths in the ten year period.2
Notably, the White population of reported pertussis morality was at the highest at 160 of 184 deaths.2
Also, there has been an increase in reported cases in the United Sates, in 2000 there were 12 reported
deaths and in 2010 there were 26 deaths.2 94 percent of the pertussis related mortality occurred in
infants (less than 1 years old) who are not fully immunized.
The increase in pertussis incidences and morality may include diminished immunity, as childhood
pertussis vaccine does not provide lifelong immunity.4 Tdap booster shot at 11 or 12 years old and
expected mothers in their third trimester should be given to continue their protective antibodies and
those that would be passed to the infant.4 Also, the increased in pertussis may be a decreased usage of
the pertussis vaccine, increased doctor awareness and public health reporting.
Limitations to this analysis are pertussis is underdiagnosed and misclassified as severe cold, influenza,
or bronchitis.8 Also, mortality could be attributed to secondary infections such as pneumonia, seizure
or encephalopathy,8 which

Embryo Diagnosis
Karen and Roger have decided to start a family. Again. It has been nearly six years since their first and
only child, Katie, was born, and just over two years since she died. In her four years of life, Katie was
plagued with the fatal Tay sachs disease. Because the enzyme needed to rid her brain of fatty materials
was absent at birth, she lost her sight when she was only eighteen months old. Her ability to operate
the left side of her body was gone several months later.
Understandably, the loss of their daughter devastated the young couple. The difficulty of watching

The possibility of predicting not only diseases, but specific traits such as eye color, height, and
intelligence levels makes eugenics very possible and much easier to attain. Not only is eugenics
ethically incorrect, but it will also have a negative effect on our genetic diversity.
Testing embryos for predispositions to certain behavioral tendencies like violence, schizophrenia,
alcoholism, or homosexuality could also lead to unfair destruction. Nurture and environment are also
factors that constitute behavior, as well as genetics.
Once these tests have been performed, there is no guarantee that the results are absolutely written in
stone. It is possible to terminate perfectly healthy embryos and unknowingly implant those with the
dreaded disease. Also, doctors are unable to predict the true extent of the disease. An embryo
diagnosed as positive may develop into a child with less severe symptoms and still be able to lead a
somewhat normal and productive life.
Some wonder about the defective embryos. Their existence is due only to the chance that two people
may have a healthy child, and to destroy them seems cold. Gary D. Hodgen of the Jones Institute has a
response to this concern. We don t for a minute pretend an embryo is paper wad, said Mr. Hodgen. We
know it s a potential human life (Wheeler A10).
A big question being asked by many is who gets the information

In the novel Life of Pi, the main character Pi is similar to the castaway Philip Ashton because they
both had to learn how to survive on their own to get through their tragic incidents. Pi wanted to give

will make it through this nightmare. I will beat the odds, as great as they are. I have survived so far,
miraculously. Now I will turn miracle into routine. The amazing will be seen every day. I will put in
all the hard work necessary. Yes, so long as God is with me, I will not die. Amen. (Marte, 2001, p. 80).

Friar Lawrence Hero
For never was a story of more woe, than this of Juliet and her Romeo , was said in the tragic love story
of Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare. This classic Shakespearean tragedy would not live up to
its name, if Friar Lawrence had not caused the deaths of these two star crossed lovers, Romeo and
Juliet. He had created the secret plans and gave most of the advice in the play, he did not check if the
plans worked and he was worried about getting caught throughout the play after helping either Romeo
or Juliet. This proves that Friar Lawrence is the cause for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet. Firstly, Friar
Lawrence was an advisor for both Romeo and Juliet and he created many plans in the play, so since he
helped the most, he started the events ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
So smile the heavens upon this holy act, that after hours with sorrow chide us not (2.6.1 2), which was
a quotation said by Friar Lawrence as he was going to marry Romeo and Juliet. This shows that he
was doubtful about the whole marriage, but still went on with it. Also, in act 5, Friar Lawrence went
into the burial vault as Juliet was awakening to see Romeo dead and he told her, I ll dispose of thee,
among a sisterhood of holy nuns. Stay not to question, for the watch is coming. Come, go, good Juliet.
I dare no longer stay. In the quotation Friar Lawrence was very worried about getting caught as he was
hearing the watchmen, so he made a quick decision and left Juliet. By leaving Juliet, Friar Lawrence
had given Juliet a chance to kill herself, so if it wasn t for him he could have saved Juliet in the end.
Therefore, Friar Lawrence proves to be very doubtful. In conclusion, the holy Friar Lawrence is more
unreliable and profane than holy and saintlike. By giving most of the advice and plans, he caused the
conflicts, and not ensuring his plans are followed accordingly, created more problems and the fact that
the Friar was very skeptical made him cause the deaths of Romeo and Juliet. But if it wasn t for his
mistakes which caused the deaths, the play would not be as tragic and successful as Shakespeare

Summary On Ergonomics And Repetitive Strain Injuries
1. Question 1 1.1 Summary about ergonomics and repetitive strain injury and why it is important to
consider in organisations: According to the Ergonomics Society of South Africa (ESSA) (2015) the
definition of ergonomics is that it is the science of work . Derived from the Greek words ergon (work)
and nomos (laws) (What is Ergonomics?, para. 3). When interpreting this definition it shows us that
ergonomics is how we work in a workplace and how equipment is designed for us, this can mean that
a taller employee needs a lower chair and then a shorter employee needs a higher chair. If something
as little as the chair does not adapt or change it can cause strain on their health because the employees
will have to adjust their bodies into uncomfortable positions. Thus ergonomics shows us that the
equipment in workplace must be adjusted, not us, because everybody is different and has different
needs. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

2.1 The Imams
The Imamate began with Ali, who is also accepted by Sunni Muslims as the fourth of the rightly

Shias point to the close lifetime association of Muhammad with Ali. When Ali was six years old, he
was invited by the Prophet to live with him, and Shias believe Ali was the first person to make the
declaration of faith in Islam. Ali also slept in Muhammad s bed on the night of the hijra, or migration
from Mecca to Medina, when it was feared that the house would be attacked by unbelievers and the
Prophet stabbed to death. He fought in all the battles Muhammad did except one, and the Prophet

The Ethical Decision Making Process
Ethical Decision Making Process Ayva Rodriguez Felician College NURS 380 Elizabeth Stallings
RN, MA, DMH January 22, 2015 Abstract Nurses often encountered various ethical dilemmas in the
practice setting. Both virtue ethics and caring ethics support good ethical decision making for nurses
(Park, 2012, p. 149) but these are inadequate to assist in solving an ethical dilemma (Park, 2012, p.
149). For that reason an ethical decision making tool is helpful for the nurses or clinicians to come up
with an ethical decision (Kelly, 2012, p. 571) that allows them to gather information, identify any gap
of understanding on the issue or the disagreements between the involved parties through a clear
communication (Park, 2012, p. 140). Several authors presented an ethical decision making processes
(Park, 2012, p. 141), here presented the two processes that can be applied in resolving an ethical
dilemma. One example of ethical decision making process is the DECIDE model by Thompson, Melia
Boyd (Allen, Chapman, Francis, O Connor, 2008, p. 5) and the Integrated ethical decision making
model which was derived from the combination of the different ethical decision making models
strengths (Park, 2012, p. 140). These two ethical decision making model steps are identical to each but
differ on the detailed instruction on how the steps are to be done or used in actual case. By comparing
the two models the integrated ethical decision making model have a detailed instruction. The

Racial Diversity In Chamblea
Chamblee, GA is a largely Hispanic enclave found in the predominantly Black metro area of Atlanta
all within the state of Georgia, a southern, predominantly White state. Chamblee was incorporated in
1908 around a railroad junction and eventually grew into a predominantly White blue collar town.
However, after the number of factory jobs declined in the area, White workers left for the north in
droves looking for work. This was followed by reduced housing prices in Chamblee that attracted
mostly Hispanic and immigrant workers who worked in the Atlanta metro area. As this population
continued to increase, different, predominantly White communities, pressured county and state
officials to make their areas cities. These communities benefitted ... Show more content on

1). Growing up, I perceived myself as a minority in a predominantly Hispanic and to a lesser extent
Asian area based solely on the restaurants in the area and how often I would see Spanish and an East
or Southeast Asian script on the sign for a store. The latter is seen in the fact 55.9% of the population
spoke Spanish or Spanish Creole and 87% of this group spoke English less than well, indicating it
may be at least a second language for them. Asian and Pacific Island language speakers makeup 5.2%
of the population, however, a greater degree of assimilation was seen in this group with only 64.4% of
this group indicating they spoke English less than well. Another factor in this is that over 60 percent of
the population (61.3%) is foreign born with the vast majority (90.8%) speaking Spanish or Spanish
Creole at home. A quarter mile from my house there was an entire plaza of Southeast Asian stores and
restaurants and a half mile away was another, larger plaza with mostly Mexican and other Central
American businesses and spaces. In spite of this economic activity, the two thirds of residents rented
rather than owned their homes and nearly 80% of the total population lived in these units.
Additionally, 82.1% of the Spanish speaking population over the age of 25 have earned less than a
highschool diploma. Such data are emblematic of the relationship between being a person of color in
this country and the barriers to

Optimism And Pessimism In The Great Gatsby
I believe that the three texts that I have studied contained moments of optimism and pessimism which
in turn have shaped my opinion of the general vision and viewpoint. This alludes to the feelings and
emotions portrayed through the omniscient camera in The King s Speech , the morally inclined
narrator Nick Caraway in The Great Gatsby and the protagonist in the novel Foster . I was very
intrigued to find out more about these societies and the vision the author/director hoped to convey.
The Great Gatsby opens in the boom years in the summer of 1922, commonly known as the Jazz Age .
The opening is conveyed as a mix of optimism and pessimism. At first we are introduced to Nick
Caraway,
A young man in the bond business who is ebullient ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In T.K.S, Bertie faced a barbaric upbringing which he solemnly shared with Logue. This is evident
when he revealed how cruel his nanny was, tunelessly singing She pinch me so I d cry, and be sent
away at once, then she wouldn t feed me, far far away. (speaks) Took three years for my parents to
notice. As you can imagine, it caused some stomach problems. This left me feeling much more
sympathetic towards Bertie and further implemented my pessimistic opinion of the portrayal of
children in the past. This is also seen in T.G.G as Pammy, Daisy s daughter is only seen once during
the entire 1920 s novel and we realise that she, like Bertie, had nannies who took care off her rather
than her parents. A sense of negativity is also conveyed towards children here as Gatsby ,when first
introduced to Pammy, was described as looking at the child with surprise. I don t think he had ever
believed in its existence. she is described as an it and Gatsby then realises that he can t repeat the past
with Daisy and that his obsessive longing for her was a waste of time. I believe that this pessimistic
feeling was a factor in his volatility towards Tom in the Plaza. Similarly in Foster , Mildred like a
predator, pounced on the innocent protagonist and questioned her about the Kinsella s personal affairs
such as where does the old dog sleep, Is she allowed to spend.... . Mildred then inconsiderately
informed the little girl of the Kinsella s boy s passing, stating sure didn t he follow that auld hound of
theirs into the slurry tank and drown...... The soft hearted fool. in a callous tone. Personally I feel that
each of the narrators set out to portray children s lives in a negative

SEDS-Saving Space Exploration
SEDS Saving Space Exploration
Space exploration was once a fascinating part of human culture. Back in the 60 s, when getting to the
moon was a top priority, and exploring the features of other planets interested people, the space
program had the momentum to pull off bigger and better things. To explore stars not even in our
galaxy and even possibly pull off the feat of discovering extraterrestrial life was something people
only dreamed about. Once being only in the imagination, space travel is a reality.
Nowadays, many people have lost interest in the space program. With people s interests in space
exploration dwindling, as well as internal problems with the NASA program, funding has been cut

Being looked at are chapters of SEDS that come from three of the bigger schools across the country:
Purdue University, Virginia Tech, and University of Oklahoma. If a person is interested in space
exploration and needs to find the best possible chapter to get involved in and to get information on,
that person may need help picking the website that best reflects what SEDS is looking to do. This
paper is a guide to help you choose the best web site possible to get all the information needed to
become a member of SEDS.
The design a website has can have a huge influence over a reader s perception and credibility of a
website. The design appeals to the pathos of the reader. If a website has the proper design, and looks
as if work has been put into it and the website does not look poorly put together, the reader will have a
better feeling towards the website s information.
The three chapters being analyzed all have a similar look to the home SEDS website, with their own
subtle differences. Each site is effective in appealing to the reader s emotion from the moment the
reader enters the website. The reader thinks the author of the website put the time into making the
design appealing, therefore the reader thinks the author

The Effects Of Domestic Violence On Children Essay
Domestic violence is a crime of either passion or violence which should never be tolerated by
anybody if at all the society is to be made safe enough for people to live in. Domestic violence can be
defined as any threatening, abusive, or violent behavior in the home either between adult children and
other adult family members (Gibbons, 2011). It can also be used by one intimate partner to establish
power and control over the other partner through fear and intimidation. Domestic violence can happen
anywhere to anyone of any race, religion, culture, or economic status. It can occur in any relationship,
including heterosexual, gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender and also within extended families
(Women s Aid 2010). It affects both partners, their children, other family members, friends, and
colleagues. Although emotional abuse in a relationship can happen equally regardless of gender, the
more threatening and dangerous forms of domestic violence are usually committed by a man against a
woman (Patriarchal Roots, n.d). Often the aggressor in a violent relationship feels a high level of
ownership over the other partner and the children which too often results in injury or death if this
person tries to end the relationship or report the violence. Unfortunately, children are not left out and
many times they fall victims of abuse or sexual assault (Sexual violence against women, n.d). This can
be very traumatizing to the children and they might grow up in fear of being abusers

Amir and Hassan s Relationship
From reading chapters one to four, one of the main aspects of Amir and Hassan s relationship is the
sense of control Amir has over Hassan. It becomes apparent that Amir is the one with the most
authority in their friendship when he talked Hassan into firing walnuts at the neighbour s one eyed
German shepherd, Hassan never wanted to, but if I asked, really asked, he wouldn t deny me . This
highlights the way Hassan looks up to Amir and obeys him due to their religious, cultural and social
differences, I was a Sunni and he was a Shi a . Nevertheless, Amir does express his sensitive side
towards Hassan and feels protective over him, especially when he can see he s upset, I reached across

as he ironed . Also, Hassan addresses Amir as Amir agha which highlights his respect to Amir.
However, despite their divisions, when they are alone together they consider themselves equal, Amir

but we know that it is unattainable.
Amir is often threatened by Hassan which Hassan is oblivious to, resulting in Amir feeling jealous and
misusing his authority over Hassan, though I stopped reading those when I saw he was far better at
solving them than I was , implying that Amir can t handle an inferior person exceeding him in any
way. This jealousy develops into abuse towards Hassan when Amir uses his intelligence to make a
fool of Hassan who is illiterate, When it comes to words, Hassan is an imbecile. Aaah he said, nodding
. However, Amir would then feel guilty for this and would give him an old shirt or a broken toy, I
would tell myself that was amends enough for a harmless prank displaying Amir s malicious

Personal Responsibility To Become Well-Behaved Students
When individuals are being responsible for themselves, often others tend to rely on the accountable
individuals. Like the character Fujiko, I, too have experienced taking responsibility for someone else.
When I was in Japan, I was very serious about studying and being a good student. I was always on
time for every class, homework was always perfectly done, and studied excessively hard for the tests.
I took full responsibility for myself in order to achieve my goal of having higher marks on my report
card. I was one of the individuals who had more focusing on the personal responsibility. Personal
responsibility motivates individuals to become well behaved students in the class, which allows them
to win the trust and reputation from other students

A Shared Responsibility For Online Privacy
A Shared Responsibility for Online Privacy
There are some things in life people can control and things they cannot. When driving, people can
fasten their seat belt, keep their car s limits, and focus on the area ahead to avoid car accidents.
Whereas when flying, people cannot do many things to protect themselves, but rely on the government
s aviation regulations and airlines enforcement to increase flight safety. Likewise, when it comes to
the online privacy, web users can control the passwords they set, the profile they create, and the
statements they post on the social networks, but they cannot prevent themselves from being hurt due
to technology companies malice and governments weak supervision and loose regulations.

It means governments should make clear regulations on the network services in order to make sure
that social networks are built with proper security and privacy. An American journalist Farhad
Manjoo, in his article It s Not All Facebook s Fault, mentions that Facebook failed to keep user
information private; the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) urged Facebook to take actions to keep the
promises about privacy it gave to its American users before. The FTC plays a role in making certain
that services Facebook provides are in compliance with the privacy policy. It is a role of governments
to ensure regulations take effect and is responsible for monitoring the implementation. More
specifically, they may need to examine whether or not the service providers give users a clear notice
regarding privacy and whether or not users express consent affirmatively before making their personal
information available for business purposes. Obviously, governments have obligations to enforce and
tightly supervise service providers to implement the regulations of security and privacy. Hence,
governments should take responsibility to make privacy regulations on social networks and monitor
the enforcement of the regulations.
Moreover, technology companies have a primary responsibility to make users feel safe by creating
online transparency. They should make information

My Neighborhood
When I tell other students from New York City that I live in Bensonhurst, they often tell me they have
never heard of it. Often, I have never heard of the neighborhood they live in, even though we all live
in the same city. I think we all live in and interact in our respective bubbles, and besides the periods
we spend at work or school, we tend to keep ourselves exclusive to people outside of them. There is
nothing wrong with being selective with who you interact with, but those self isolating behaviors
encourage ignorance, especially during periods of rapid change in the neighborhood.
My neighborhood is actually very aesthetically pleasing. The name of my neighborhood, Bensonhurst,
is actually shortened from Bensonhurst by the Sea, which is what a developer named the resort
neighborhood in order to sell more beachfront property. The aforementioned sea is the Atlantic Ocean,
though the sandy bay almost every avenue in the neighborhood has in its street name (e.g. Bay
Parkway) has been paved over to make roads and sidewalks (Frishberg). Still, there are remnants of its
coastal retreat past; there are benches, trees, walkways, and parks right near the ocean. There are also
playgrounds by every elementary school, and a city park or green space if there are no elementary
schools right nearby. Backyards, privately owned plots of nature, also play an important role in my
community. Most families in my neighborhood have backyards, front yards, or both, and place value

Plato s Allegory Of The Cave Analysis
The Matrix is a film that delves into many philosophical ideas, one of which is Plato s Allegory of the
Cave. In the allegory, prisoners are chained to the cave wall. They cannot move and are only allowed
to see the wall in front of them. Behind them is a burning fire, and puppeteers control the puppets that
cast shadows on the wall of the cave. The prisoners can only perceive what they see on the cave wall,
and their conception of reality is based on this incomplete view, which is an imperfect copy of the real
world.
However one of the prisoners breaks free from the chains and escapes from the cave. His eyes, used to
darkness, are blinded by the sun to the point that he wants to return to the cave. Slowly, his eyes adjust
and after much suffering and self realisation the man can finally perceive reality as it actually is. The

him to accept. Neo is blinded by the Sun s light in the film, he asks Morpheus Why do my eyes hurt?
Morpheus replies, Because you ve never used them before. Just like Plato s prisoner, Neo is at first in
denial, but eventually realises that the shadows he sees are not the truth, just shadows cast on the wall
by the puppets. His eyes get adjusted to the Sun s brilliant light and he sees reality.
Another interesting link between Plato s Allegory and The Matrix is that both the prisoner and Neo
grow more intelligent and develop new skills. They are in full control of their own abilities. The
prisoner in the Cave learns infinite wisdom once he breaks free from the cave. In The Matrix , Neo is
able to stop bullets, defy gravity, and possesses superhuman abilities once he accepts the truth and

West Nile Virus Research Paper
ABOUT THE PATHOGEN
The pathogen West Nile virus belongs to the family Flaviviridae, genus Flavivirus and is part of an
antigenic complex of Japanese encephalitis viruses. According to the classification of human
pathogenic microorganisms WNV belongs to II group of pathogenicity. Pathogen flavivirus has an
icosahedral shape, the approximate size is 40 50nm. Flavivirus has a single stranded RNA, has a
protein coat an enveloped capsid. Based on the differences of the nucleotide and amino acid sequences
currently distinguish at least five genotypes WNV. Well preserved frozen and dried state. Die at a
temperature above 56 C after 30 min.
VIRULENCE FACTORS
Journal of Virology states that West Nile Virus has numerous different proteins on the surface of the
envelope. Thanks to these proteins virus can penetrate into host cells without being detected by
immune system. (N linked glycosylation of the E proteins). WNV also equipped with envelope E
glycoprotein (major structural protein) on the viron which is also the antigen that elicits neutralizing
antibodies. Normally Interferon prohibits infections. Once infection is present WNV is resistant to the
effects of antiviral interferon. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

David Koch Hall Of Human Origins Analysis
The David H. Koch Hall OF Human Origins: What does it mean to be human.
The Hall of Human Origins tells the story of human evolution in a permanent exhibition space
containing nearly 300 fossils and artifacts. The exhibition was very interesting and educative, and the
benefits of seeing the various gallery in person is nonpareil. I learnt a lot about the evolution of
humans as a specie. The faces of the various Homos and the connection I felt with them makes the
experience worthwhile. Most importantly the exhibits makes me understand more about the evolution
of the Hominids (the earliest humanlike creatures).
The first chapter of our text talks about the first humans, but it did not go into more details or mention
them by their names. The

Importance Of A Lightbulb Moment
A lightbulb moment. My writing process has officially kicked off with the lightbulb moment. This is
the moment when the first line of my paper pops in my head or I have a sense of direction in where
the paper is headed. I can depend on the fact that this will not happen by staring at a blinking cursor
on a blank page. Some of my better lightbulb moments have been on the bus heading home or the
second I get into bed to go to sleep that is why my mom always taught me to keep post its and a pen in
my nightstand! I usually like to give myself at least a couple days to write my paper, edit the paper,
and to make sure I have an effective mic drop at the end, as my English teacher last year said.
However, seeing as I am starting this paper the night before it is due, I should also mention that I have
no problem starting last minute if I know what I am going to say and essentially have the framework
of a paper in my head. The lightbulb moment is the hardest to control, but a critical part to my writing
process.
The setting in which I write my paper is the easiest to control, and also a critical part to my writing
process. I find that the setting changes with each type of paper. I write at my desk in my room for the
average paper, especially if I am feeling confident in how the paper is going so far. I can play music in
the background and am two floors up from the kitchen and the family room, thereby avoiding
distractions. If it is a paper that is intimidating by name, like my

Taking a Look at MIMO Techniques
MIMO techniques are mostly used to accelerate system throughput over disruptive wireless
communication channels. It is well known fact that with the number of transmit antenna M and
number of receive antenna N, the capacity of MIMO systems increases linearly with a factor of MN.
The receiver decodes the received signal vectors into actual information, a narrow band flat fading
MIMO is designed as:
Y=Hx+n (1)
Where Y x are received and transmitted vectors, H is channel matrix n is the noise. During the last
decade, MIMO techniques in wireless industry have gained a huge interest in the study. MIMO is
treated as an extension of conventional smart antenna systems (SAS). In SAS, techniques of
beamforming are deployed and the optimal antenna weighting vector that determines antenna
radiation pattern is computed based on the optimal criterion such as maximum signal to interference
plus noise ratio (SINR), minimum mean square error (MMSE) [8]. The ability to exploit and use the
multipath propagation can be considered as one of the major advantages of MIMO systems. In
contrast to transmit beamforming schemes, channel state information (CSI) is generally not required at
the transmitter of MIMO systems. MIMO techniques for transmitting systems can be majorly divided
into two categories: spatial multiplexing and space time coding (spatial diversity techniques). In
spatial multiplexing technique, it increases the data rate (throughput) over a MIMO dedicated

The Validity Of Social Exchange Theories
Social Exchange theory Theories are defined as a belief, policy, or procedure proposed or followed as
the basis of action (Theory, n.d.). The theory that I researched is the social exchange theory. Defined
as interpreting people s social interactions that are based on estimates of rewards and punishment. The
research indicates that the theory is valid. I will go further in to depth.
This theory is relevant in many peoples lives. Let me explain in a scenario. A man named Johnathan
was shopping for a graduation gift for his best friend Anna. He spent days trying to find a suitable gift
to give. After days, he finally found the perfect gift. The gift cost a lot of money to get and he felt
proud of it. Later, at graduation, he gave Ann the amazing gift, and wondered what he would get from
her. Ann pulled out a congratulations card and handed it to him. Even though he liked it, deep down he
had high expectations and in turn the payoff was low for him, causing him to have negative feeling
about the interaction. Social exchange theory can be explained in many ways, but this scenario
explained it well.
The social exchange theory s first major appearance in publication world came from John Thibault,
and Harold Kelly in 1952 ( Social ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The main critic to address the inaccuracy of this theory is Katherine Miller. In her publication in 2005
she proposed many objectives regarding the theory. Katherine Stated, Social Exchange theory assumes
that the intimacy achieved in relationships is linear in nature (SET, 2012, para.10). What does this
mean? Let me explain. Looking deeper into the research her issue is for the theory to be accurate,
certain social parameters need to be met. In Katherines words, she says that the theory needs to rely on
the openness of the social interaction to be accurate (SET, 2012, para.10). Does Katherines article
regarding social exchange theory factual? Perhaps it is.

Of An Hour And Herman Melville s Bartleby, The Scrivener
Kate Chopin s Story of an Hour and Herman Melville s Bartleby, the Scrivener , both demonstrate the
theme of isolation and going against the oppression that was around in their time. Kate Chopin s main
theme is about how married women have less freedom and are restricted in the 19th century. She
portrayed it by talking about the experience in Mrs. Mallard s point of view when, she heard her
husband was presumed dead in a train accident. The way Bartleby, the Scrivener was written, through
the use of the setting imply that Bartleby is going against something he himself cannot change.
Bartleby s action was going against the working world, by refusing to eat and participate in the
economy, since Bartleby was not cooperating with anyone and protesting by himself. Compared to
Story of an Hour , Bartleby, the Scrivener shows more of the theme of justice because Kate Chopin s
story was more focused toward Mrs. Mallard without explaining the circumstance of why she wanted
freedom. While Bartleby, the Scrivener showed more detail regarding the setting of Bartleby, which
makes it easier to understand that he is rebelling against the system for his belief, even if he cannot
change anything by himself. Both works demonstrate the theme of isolation and resistance, however
Herman Melville express the theme better because of his use of characterisation and setting involved
in the story.
Kate Chopin is implying that getting marry is a bad thing because if one has an unhappy

  • 2. Network Visibility And Its Effect On The Environment Essay 5. Expectations for a complete suit network visibility network visibility is critical in taming breaches of security in businesses and organizations. Breaches such as those witnessed in leading retail brands such as Target and Staples are happening because most network security designs in use today have not adapted to the more forceful dynamic access and threat environment. In addition, the reduction in network visibility is what has curtailed the ability of retail brands to fully secure their network assets. The shift to complete network visibility will benefit networking vendors who are keen on providing complete network visibility requirements and high compute capacity solutions. Viable Solutions to Networking Challenges Cloud Cloud computing is already at the center of new data center evolution because large amounts of information can be stored in cloud. It is actually estimated that 1/3 of all data will go through cloud by 2020. This will lead to a rise in global cloud revenues as well as the amount of money firms spend on cloud computing and innovation. The development will also see many organizations come up with ways to enhance cloud infrastructure to enhance compute density, ultra low latency and power density. The most common networking attributes of cloud include; low latency, programmable management, scalable, Open APIs and Self healing resilience. Cloud networking scaling is achieved using topologies from wide ranging nodes that provide non resistive fabric ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Reflection Of The Regggio Creativation Observation Being able to visit one of the Reggio Emilia Schools was the best experience I have had while learning about this approach so far. This experience helped put everything that we were learning and discussing earlier in the week into perspective. Today was the day when the Reggio Emilia approach of teacher started to actually make sense to me in the way that it was implemented, since I was able to observe the interactions first hand. When I first walked into the school I was amazed by how open and welcoming it was. I was able to see most of the classroom while just standing in the main area on the ground floor which was completely different than anything I have seen in any schools in the United States. We learned at the end of our time exploring and observing the school that the reason that all of the classrooms are connected or are visible to each other is since their philosophy is that if you have interconnected spaces then you will have interconnected thoughts. They referred to this as transparency when discussing it during our debrief. After getting over just how amazing the layout and environment of this school was, I was able to finally start observing how the interactions and instruction is implemented in this school. I was able to see how older students and younger students were able to learn from each other as well as teachers and students learning from each other. In this school everyone was constantly learning from others by observing, asking questions or just ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Lab Report Enzyme Activity The enzyme lab was used to determine the different factors that could affect the productivity of an enzyme. In the lab, the reaction between the hydrogen peroxide and the liver was an exothermic reaction because the temperature of the test tube rose when the hydrogen peroxide was placed into the liver. Heat is a form of energy and the temperature rose as the reaction progressed. In the test tube B, the temperature rose from room temperature to around r30ºC showing that it was an exothermic reaction. I think that the heat from the reactions of the enzymes inside my body keep my body warm and prevent the environment of these enzymes from becoming too cold and the basic functions of the body could not be carried out. There are several factors that affect the productivity of the enzyme. First, the temperature is one of them. When the liver in the lab was boiled, the enzymes were destroyed and nothing happened and when the liver was placed into the ice bath, it had a lower reaction rate than the hotter temperatures. On the other hand, when the temperature was around 37ºC, the enzymes were most effective and made the largest reaction. pH also had an effect on the productivity of the enzymes. The enzymes in the liver worked best at neutral pH. When the pH was more acidic or more basic, the enzyme s reaction was less effective. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In each of the experiments that used dead cells, a reaction occurred and it shows that the catalase were reacting the hydrogen peroxide. In all the tests that involved once living cells, the reaction occurred and the hydrogen peroxide was split into water and oxygen. The catalase was not in the same quantity. For example, the liver had a reaction rate of 3 and the apple had a reaction rate of 1. The liver had more catalase than the apple because the hydrogen peroxide was broken down faster in the liver meaning that there are more catalase breaking it ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

To both, and to many biased observers the history of the Egyptian/Israeli conflict is very one sided, with one government, or one people causing the continued wars between the two neighboring states. But, as any social scientist of any reputation will state, all international conflicts have more than one side, and usually are the result of events surrounding, and extending over the parties involved. Thus, using this theory as a basis, we must assume that the conflict between Israel and Egypt is more complicated than a partial observer would see it. For the purpose of this paper, we are going to examine the basic factors of Egypt s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As mentioned, the Egyptians saw the formation of Israel as an Imperialist state, and they were defending the land for the Palestinians, and more importantly for the newly developing arab unity. While the United States was not actively involved in the war, either by providing arms or providing much assistance, their actions did create an interesting and volatile atmosphere. As soon as the state of Israel was created, the United State quickly recognized the state and started diplomatic relations with the newly formed government. At the same time, the USSR recognized Israel, not wishing the US to be seen as the champion for the newly found state. Although there is no definitive proof, one can assume that Egypt, and the rest of the Arab nations felt the need to quickly react to the situation, in almost a type of fear that powers outside their Arab influence, such as the United States were quickly impeding on their territory, by using Israel as a means of their peaceful aggression. Still, Egypt was clearly the main aggressor in this instance, and was not defending their own territory, but instead attempting to obtain territory, which they did succeed in acquiring, through the Gaza Strip. The Egyptian actions quickly set the tone of conflict in the Middle East, giving the Israelis no option but the take an initial purely military response in defense of their newly formed state. INTRODUCTION The author presents his main theme of fate by bringing the reader to a family s holiday which is unfortunately brought to a sudden end by a murder (O Connor 36). The grandmother argues that the family should go to Tennessee instead of Florida. Her insistence makes the family to deviate from the right path in an attempt to look for a fake treasure. Misfit on the other hand insists that indeed he is a bad person (O Connor 36). Health Information Technology Research Paper Privacy Relating to Health Information Technology From an American s perspective, privacy is seen as a natural part of life, yet the particulars of protecting that privacy is much more complex. While there are ways to keep information secure, such as incognito mode for web search browsers and options for private accounts in social media, privacy is still able to be violated by hackers and information slips through companies. The theme of technology in Extra Sensory Perception by Gershon Dublon and Joseph A. • 12. The Effects of Homework on Education Introduction The debate over homework has become a controversial one throughout the years. Most of the general population is on the uprise to stop homework, while education providers try to endure its existence. While the general population see homework as a burden and unnecessary, the real idea of homework creates an obvious path of success. Part of that path to success is do to the instructors use of homework in the correct manner. While the other path, is the completion and practice a student puts forth for the understanding of the topic at hand. We create the sense of, why homework? Previous research has helped show a usefulness of homework throughout our education system (e.g. Kenny, 2013; Marzano, 2007; Jorgenson, 2013; Griffith, 2013; Dejka, 2014). While research has been conducted, there is never one concise choice that everyone can agree with. That is why the topic of homework is of such high debate. The idea of homework, though, gives us the opportunity to expand our learning and preparing us for what lies ahead. Background When thinking of homework, we think of the standard definition, schoolwork that student is required to do at home. Homework being bad is associated in every student s mind. Our thinking involves that the teacher is just giving us busy work. In truth, the first definition is vague compared to the true meaning of the term. The possibility of predicting not only diseases, but specific traits such as eye color, height, and intelligence levels makes eugenics very possible and much easier to attain. Not only is eugenics ethically incorrect, but it will also have a negative effect on our genetic diversity. Testing embryos for predispositions to certain behavioral tendencies like violence, schizophrenia, alcoholism, or homosexuality could also lead to unfair destruction. Nurture and environment are also factors that constitute behavior, as well as genetics. Once these tests have been performed, there is no guarantee that the results are absolutely written in stone. It is possible to terminate perfectly healthy embryos and unknowingly implant those with the dreaded disease. Also, doctors are unable to predict the true extent of the disease. An embryo diagnosed as positive may develop into a child with less severe symptoms and still be able to lead a somewhat normal and productive life. Some wonder about the defective embryos. Question 1 1.1 Summary about ergonomics and repetitive strain injury and why it is important to consider in organisations: According to the Ergonomics Society of South Africa (ESSA) (2015) the definition of ergonomics is that it is the science of work . Derived from the Greek words ergon (work) and nomos (laws) (What is Ergonomics?, para. 3). When interpreting this definition it shows us that ergonomics is how we work in a workplace and how equipment is designed for us, this can mean that a taller employee needs a lower chair and then a shorter employee needs a higher chair. If something as little as the chair does not adapt or change it can cause strain on their health because the employees will have to adjust their bodies into uncomfortable positions. • 21. The Ethical Decision Making Process Ethical Decision Making Process Ayva Rodriguez Felician College NURS 380 Elizabeth Stallings RN, MA, DMH January 22, 2015 Abstract Nurses often encountered various ethical dilemmas in the practice setting. Both virtue ethics and caring ethics support good ethical decision making for nurses (Park, 2012, p. 149) but these are inadequate to assist in solving an ethical dilemma (Park, 2012, p. 149). For that reason an ethical decision making tool is helpful for the nurses or clinicians to come up with an ethical decision (Kelly, 2012, p. 571) that allows them to gather information, identify any gap of understanding on the issue or the disagreements between the involved parties through a clear communication (Park, 2012, p. 140). Several authors presented an ethical decision making processes (Park, 2012, p. 141), here presented the two processes that can be applied in resolving an ethical dilemma. One example of ethical decision making process is the DECIDE model by Thompson, Melia Boyd (Allen, Chapman, Francis, O Connor, 2008, p. 5) and the Integrated ethical decision making model which was derived from the combination of the different ethical decision making models strengths (Park, 2012, p. 140). These two ethical decision making model steps are identical to each but differ on the detailed instruction on how the steps are to be done or used in actual case. The Effects Of Domestic Violence On Children Essay Domestic violence is a crime of either passion or violence which should never be tolerated by anybody if at all the society is to be made safe enough for people to live in. Domestic violence can be defined as any threatening, abusive, or violent behavior in the home either between adult children and other adult family members (Gibbons, 2011). It can also be used by one intimate partner to establish power and control over the other partner through fear and intimidation. Domestic violence can happen anywhere to anyone of any race, religion, culture, or economic status. It can occur in any relationship, including heterosexual, gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender and also within extended families (Women s Aid 2010). It affects both partners, their children, other family members, friends, and colleagues. Although emotional abuse in a relationship can happen equally regardless of gender, the more threatening and dangerous forms of domestic violence are usually committed by a man against a woman (Patriarchal Roots, n.d). Often the aggressor in a violent relationship feels a high level of ownership over the other partner and the children which too often results in injury or death if this person tries to end the relationship or report the violence. • 30. My Neighborhood When I tell other students from New York City that I live in Bensonhurst, they often tell me they have never heard of it. Often, I have never heard of the neighborhood they live in, even though we all live in the same city. I think we all live in and interact in our respective bubbles, and besides the periods we spend at work or school, we tend to keep ourselves exclusive to people outside of them. There is nothing wrong with being selective with who you interact with, but those self isolating behaviors encourage ignorance, especially during periods of rapid change in the neighborhood. My neighborhood is actually very aesthetically pleasing. The name of my neighborhood, Bensonhurst, is actually shortened from Bensonhurst by the Sea, which is what a developer named the resort neighborhood in order to sell more beachfront property. The aforementioned sea is the Atlantic Ocean, though the sandy bay almost every avenue in the neighborhood has in its street name (e.g. Bay Parkway) has been paved over to make roads and sidewalks (Frishberg). Still, there are remnants of its coastal retreat past; there are benches, trees, walkways, and parks right near the ocean. There are also playgrounds by every elementary school, and a city park or green space if there are no elementary schools right nearby. Backyards, privately owned plots of nature, also play an important role in my community. Most families in my neighborhood have backyards, front yards, or both, and place value in ... • 32. Plato s Allegory Of The Cave Analysis The Matrix is a film that delves into many philosophical ideas, one of which is Plato s Allegory of the Cave. In the allegory, prisoners are chained to the cave wall. They cannot move and are only allowed to see the wall in front of them. Behind them is a burning fire, and puppeteers control the puppets that cast shadows on the wall of the cave. The prisoners can only perceive what they see on the cave wall, and their conception of reality is based on this incomplete view, which is an imperfect copy of the real world. However one of the prisoners breaks free from the chains and escapes from the cave. His eyes, used to darkness, are blinded by the sun to the point that he wants to return to the cave. Slowly, his eyes adjust and after much suffering and self realisation the man can finally perceive reality as it actually is. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He realises that the life he has been leading so far is completely manipulated and controlled by the Matrix, protected by the agents (the guards that prevent freedom). However, this truth is difficult for him to accept. Neo is blinded by the Sun s light in the film, he asks Morpheus Why do my eyes hurt? Morpheus replies, Because you ve never used them before. Just like Plato s prisoner, Neo is at first in denial, but eventually realises that the shadows he sees are not the truth, just shadows cast on the wall by the puppets. His eyes get adjusted to the Sun s brilliant light and he sees reality. Another interesting link between Plato s Allegory and The Matrix is that both the prisoner and Neo grow more intelligent and develop new skills. They are in full control of their own abilities. The prisoner in the Cave learns infinite wisdom once he breaks free from the cave. In The Matrix , Neo is able to stop bullets, defy gravity, and possesses superhuman abilities once he accepts the truth and learns to manipulate the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 33. West Nile Virus Research Paper ABOUT THE PATHOGEN The pathogen West Nile virus belongs to the family Flaviviridae, genus Flavivirus and is part of an antigenic complex of Japanese encephalitis viruses. According to the classification of human pathogenic microorganisms WNV belongs to II group of pathogenicity. Pathogen flavivirus has an icosahedral shape, the approximate size is 40 50nm. Flavivirus has a single stranded RNA, has a protein coat an enveloped capsid. Based on the differences of the nucleotide and amino acid sequences currently distinguish at least five genotypes WNV. Well preserved frozen and dried state. Die at a temperature above 56 C after 30 min. VIRULENCE FACTORS Journal of Virology states that West Nile Virus has numerous different proteins on the surface of the envelope. Thanks to these proteins virus can penetrate into host cells without being detected by immune system. (N linked glycosylation of the E proteins). WNV also equipped with envelope E glycoprotein (major structural protein) on the viron which is also the antigen that elicits neutralizing antibodies. Normally Interferon prohibits infections. Once infection is present WNV is resistant to the effects of antiviral interferon. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 34. David Koch Hall Of Human Origins Analysis The David H. Koch Hall OF Human Origins: What does it mean to be human. The Hall of Human Origins tells the story of human evolution in a permanent exhibition space containing nearly 300 fossils and artifacts. The exhibition was very interesting and educative, and the benefits of seeing the various gallery in person is nonpareil. I learnt a lot about the evolution of humans as a specie. The faces of the various Homos and the connection I felt with them makes the experience worthwhile. Most importantly the exhibits makes me understand more about the evolution of the Hominids (the earliest humanlike creatures). The first chapter of our text talks about the first humans, but it did not go into more details or mention them by their names. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 35. Importance Of A Lightbulb Moment A lightbulb moment. My writing process has officially kicked off with the lightbulb moment. This is the moment when the first line of my paper pops in my head or I have a sense of direction in where the paper is headed. I can depend on the fact that this will not happen by staring at a blinking cursor on a blank page. Some of my better lightbulb moments have been on the bus heading home or the second I get into bed to go to sleep that is why my mom always taught me to keep post its and a pen in my nightstand! I usually like to give myself at least a couple days to write my paper, edit the paper, and to make sure I have an effective mic drop at the end, as my English teacher last year said. However, seeing as I am starting this paper the night before it is due, I should also mention that I have no problem starting last minute if I know what I am going to say and essentially have the framework of a paper in my head. The lightbulb moment is the hardest to control, but a critical part to my writing process. The setting in which I write my paper is the easiest to control, and also a critical part to my writing process. I find that the setting changes with each type of paper. I write at my desk in my room for the average paper, especially if I am feeling confident in how the paper is going so far. I can play music in the background and am two floors up from the kitchen and the family room, thereby avoiding distractions. If it is a paper that is intimidating by name, like my ... • 36. Taking a Look at MIMO Techniques MIMO techniques are mostly used to accelerate system throughput over disruptive wireless communication channels. It is well known fact that with the number of transmit antenna M and number of receive antenna N, the capacity of MIMO systems increases linearly with a factor of MN. The receiver decodes the received signal vectors into actual information, a narrow band flat fading MIMO is designed as: Y=Hx+n (1) Where Y x are received and transmitted vectors, H is channel matrix n is the noise. During the last decade, MIMO techniques in wireless industry have gained a huge interest in the study. MIMO is treated as an extension of conventional smart antenna systems (SAS). In SAS, techniques of beamforming are deployed and the optimal antenna weighting vector that determines antenna radiation pattern is computed based on the optimal criterion such as maximum signal to interference plus noise ratio (SINR), minimum mean square error (MMSE) [8]. The ability to exploit and use the multipath propagation can be considered as one of the major advantages of MIMO systems. In contrast to transmit beamforming schemes, channel state information (CSI) is generally not required at the transmitter of MIMO systems. MIMO techniques for transmitting systems can be majorly divided into two categories: spatial multiplexing and space time coding (spatial diversity techniques). In spatial multiplexing technique, it increases the data rate (throughput) over a MIMO dedicated ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 37. The Validity Of Social Exchange Theories Social Exchange theory Theories are defined as a belief, policy, or procedure proposed or followed as the basis of action (Theory, n.d.). The theory that I researched is the social exchange theory. Defined as interpreting people s social interactions that are based on estimates of rewards and punishment. The research indicates that the theory is valid. I will go further in to depth. This theory is relevant in many peoples lives. Let me explain in a scenario. A man named Johnathan was shopping for a graduation gift for his best friend Anna. He spent days trying to find a suitable gift to give. After days, he finally found the perfect gift. The gift cost a lot of money to get and he felt proud of it. Later, at graduation, he gave Ann the amazing gift, and wondered what he would get from her. Ann pulled out a congratulations card and handed it to him. Even though he liked it, deep down he had high expectations and in turn the payoff was low for him, causing him to have negative feeling about the interaction. Social exchange theory can be explained in many ways, but this scenario explained it well. The social exchange theory s first major appearance in publication world came from John Thibault, and Harold Kelly in 1952 ( Social ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The main critic to address the inaccuracy of this theory is Katherine Miller. In her publication in 2005 she proposed many objectives regarding the theory. Katherine Stated, Social Exchange theory assumes that the intimacy achieved in relationships is linear in nature (SET, 2012, para.10). What does this mean? Let me explain. Looking deeper into the research her issue is for the theory to be accurate, certain social parameters need to be met. In Katherines words, she says that the theory needs to rely on the openness of the social interaction to be accurate (SET, 2012, para.10). Does Katherines article regarding social exchange theory factual? Perhaps it is. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 38. Of An Hour And Herman Melville s Bartleby, The Scrivener Kate Chopin s Story of an Hour and Herman Melville s Bartleby, the Scrivener , both demonstrate the theme of isolation and going against the oppression that was around in their time. Kate Chopin s main theme is about how married women have less freedom and are restricted in the 19th century. She portrayed it by talking about the experience in Mrs. Mallard s point of view when, she heard her husband was presumed dead in a train accident. The way Bartleby, the Scrivener was written, through the use of the setting imply that Bartleby is going against something he himself cannot change. Bartleby s action was going against the working world, by refusing to eat and participate in the economy, since Bartleby was not cooperating with anyone and protesting by himself. Compared to Story of an Hour , Bartleby, the Scrivener shows more of the theme of justice because Kate Chopin s story was more focused toward Mrs. Mallard without explaining the circumstance of why she wanted freedom. While Bartleby, the Scrivener showed more detail regarding the setting of Bartleby, which makes it easier to understand that he is rebelling against the system for his belief, even if he cannot change anything by himself. Both works demonstrate the theme of isolation and resistance, however Herman Melville express the theme better because of his use of characterisation and setting involved in the story. Kate Chopin is implying that getting marry is a bad thing because if one has an unhappy ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
