Saudi Arabia Women s Rights Violations
Saudi Arabia s women s rights injustices violate a variety of the articles of the Universe Declaration of
Human Rights, proving their abuses to be clear human rights issues. Article 3 of the UDHR clearly
states that Everyone has the right to life, liberty, and security of person ( The Universal ).
Unfortunately, there is a system at work that takes away the liberty of the women of Saudi Arabia.
Journalist Katherine Zoepf has described the guardianship system as a system which requires an adult
woman to get permission from her guardian before traveling overseas or seeking medical care ( Sisters
in ). Not only that, but she also adds that the male relative with responsibility over a Saudi woman
may be her own adolescent son ( Sisters in ). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The sentence in an adultery case may be a hundred lashes for the male offender. For the female,
however, the sentence may be death ( Sisters in ). This doesn t exactly demonstrate the equal before

article 2. Article 2 states that Everyone is entitled to all the rights and freedoms set forth in this
Declaration, without distinction of any kind, such as race, colour, sex, language, religion, political or
other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth or other status ( The Universal ). In Saudi
Arabia, contrary to this article, many regulations apply solely to women. Women cannot drive cars,
they cannot be in public without a male chaperone, they cannot swim in swimming pools, they cannot
enter a cemetery, they cannot marry without their male guardian s permission, and they cannot be seen
anywhere without an abaya and a head covering ( Eleven things )( World Report 2015 ). Although
many of these regulations are not laws, but heavily enforced cultural traditions, they still take effect on

Marketing Plan For Blueberry Farm In Winchendon,...
Company Description Blue Heaven is a new, sole proprietorship, family operated, blueberry farm in
Winchendon, Massachusetts which will offer selection of commercial blueberries alongside wild
highbush and wild lowbush blueberries. This farm will be established on three acres of land donated
by the family and operated mainly by family members. Thirty thousand of family savings will be used
to cover the necessary expanses with the startup operation like field cultivation, purchasing plants, and
protective structure with netting to protect the crop. Small loan might be necessary to purchase
equipment to process excess of blueberries when the crop of blueberries is larger than the sale of fresh
blueberries. Family lawn equipment (lawnmower ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Marketing Plan The difference between wild and commercial blueberries and the possibility to choose
which type of blueberries customer wants in one place is what separates this farm from others and will
be the main point of marketing. The farm is serving local costumers and local forms of promotions
will be used. Permanent sigh will be placed by the road, and yard sighs will be placed through the
community during harvest time. The farm will establish its presence on social media and will use
posts to inform farm supporters about new development, opening hours, beginning of the harvest
season and where our blueberries can be purchased. Social media will also be used to advertise to
local community. Blueberries when ready for picking will be priced similarly like on others blueberry
farms in the region. For pick your own blueberries the price will be same for both wild and
commercial berries, for blueberries already picked, the price for wild blueberries will be slightly
higher, which will account for smaller berries and longer picking time.
Operations and Development Plan The first (small) crop of blueberries can be expected the fourth year
of the operation. The Planting Protocol and Maintenance Protocol will be followed to establish
blueberry field or expand it and to keep established plants in good health.

Snow Globes Lab Report
Snow globes are made of clear glass, a transparent sphere with a scenic view and a plastic toy inside
the globe. The globe must be shaken to actuate the snow so the white particles can fall gradually to
reach the base. When the marble (object used for this experiment) falls, it experiences two external
forces which are; the gravitational force and the aerodynamic (fluid resistance) drag of the marble,
which affects the rate of the marble. As the marble is falling, the speed is increased due to the
gravitational force, which is pulling the marble downwards to the base of the beaker until it reaches
the terminal velocity, where both external forces are equal. However, there are factors that can affect
the marble s terminal velocity, such as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, the results are completely different. The results shown in the table, the water and cornstarch
solution is most suitable liquid to use in the snow globes due to its thick viscosity compared to other
solutions. Hence, the marble traveled slower as it created more drag onto the marble. Nevertheless, the
water itself had low viscosity compared to other solutions because the marble reached the base faster
of the measuring cylinder. As a result, it created less drag onto the marble compared to water and
cornstarch solution. Therefore, the thicker the solution, the longer it takes for the marble to reach the
base of the measuring cylinder. However, if the solution has low viscosity (such as water itself), the
faster it the time it takes for the marble to reach the

The Death, Burial, And Resurrection Of Jesus Christ
Why did they wait until 100 pages into the book to write this chapter? Earlier in the book when they
said that I might want to set down the book they were right. This chapter has some really helpful
concepts validated by scripture and explained with helpful models that should get every Christian
excited about ministry to the city. This chapter is about sharing the good news with people and
grabbing their attention and respect with goo deeds. This chapter is about the death, burial, and
resurrection of Jesus Christ. This chapter is also about loving the city and living in the city in away
that is compatible with the needs and dreams of the city. This is my favorite chapter in the book by far.
It contains a really solid biblical theology for loving the city. I ve never seen any Christian in my life
raise a person from the dead in the name of God. I may never see a supernatural miracle in my life, but
I m certainly not going to say that it can t happen. Maybe we just don t have enough faith to raise
people from the dead in the name of Jesus. More commonly I think we have the ability to transform
the city though doing unwarranted acts of kindness in our community. In Galatians 2 Paul extorts us to
remember the poor in good deeds of service. Let us be eager to serve in this way but not forget to
share the life saving word of God. Paul also models for us in Romans 1 when he says he is eager to
share the gospel and that it is the power of God s salvation for all that believe.

The Heroic Heroes Of Greek Mythology
ENGAGING HOOK. Atalanta was one of the admirable heroes in Greek mythology. She was similar
to the goddess Artemis, in that Atalanta was also an exceptional huntress who loved the wild and had
no interest in men. After birth, Atalanta s father left her to die in the wild, but a she bear discovered
little Atalanta and kept her alive. Eventually, hunters found Atalanta and taught her to hunt (Hamilton
246). Atalanta became so skilled at hunting that Edith Hamilton referred to her as the pride of the
woods of Arcady, and Atalanta even partook in the hunt for the monstrous boar that Artemis set loose
to ravage the country of Calydon (246 247). Atalanta was the first to strike the boar with her arrow,
earning her the honorary boar skin (248). Atalanta thereafter went on to win a wrestling match against
a man named Peleus (249). Later, Atalanta s father heard of her heroism and welcomed her back home
(249). Through much mistreatment and triumph, Atalanta came to represent the ideal of gender
equality. The first way in which Atalanta came to represent the ideal of gender equality was that she
faced discrimination on account of her gender. Since her birth, others treated Atalanta as less than the
opposite sex. Atalanta s father left her for dead in the wilderness when she was just an infant, because
he desired male children (Atsma). Atalanta s gender was a death sentence. Sadly, the discrimination
Atalanta faced continued on into womanhood. Though she was a fierce huntress,

The Vietnam War Was A Significant Moment For Canada
The Vietnam War was a historically significant moment for Canada which followed the First and
Second World War. This was due to Canada s large involvement in helping the South of Vietnam in
their war efforts. Canada plays a large roll in this war costs and their manufacturing for war materials.
One must first know how the war began before understanding how Canada contributed. Although the
start of the Vietnam War had nothing to do with Canada, later events in the war were related to Canada
largely. The beginning of the war is a crucial part in how we got involved in the Vietnam War. On May
7th 1954, Viet Minh had finally won the Battle of Dien Bien Phu marking the end of the First
Indochina War. This was a breakthrough for Vietnam because this meant that France was no longer
involved with Vietnam, and the French would then seize fire. A new government would now rule
Vietnam. The North of Vietnam was becoming communist while the South of Vietnam was becoming
more anti communist. The United States of America feared that if communism took over Vietnam, it
would then start to spread to South East Asia. The United States of America feared this possibility
because it would then be a much greater threat to them than they thought originally. On the 8th of
March 1965 the United States of America decided to take action and form an alliance with South
Vietnam anti communist forces and they sent 3, 500 soldiers to fight in the Vietnam War. This number

Analysis Of Our Town In Act III By Thorton Wilder
Our Town in Act III, Thorton Wilder give the reader a glimpse of what he thinks heaven is like. He
believed that as a dead person you will be able to live out memories. As a dead person you can see
what someone is doing. But is that Biblical? The Bible does not talk about being sad in heaven , nor
does it say that you will finally see how precious life is. As a Christian you have to be aware of what
your exposing yourself to, because you can end up believing a lie. In Act III Emily is now in Heaven
talking with those who died before her. In Heaven, she decides to visit her birthday, where she comes
to the painful realization that she did not appreciate life. Emily became emotionally distressed after

Three Fifths Compromise Essay
There are a number of compromises that can be found in the U.S constitution, all having had a major
role in shaping what we all know today as the United States of America. With so many important
compromises it is hard to chose just one. That being said, the compromise which I intend to discuss is
the three fifths compromise. This compromise is important in our history and is a pretty controversial
matter.Three fifths compromise was important for both the northern and southern states. The main
question that was brought up for this subject was if slaves should be counted in census to determine
the number of congressional delegates a state should recieve. What was the Three Fifths Compromise?
It was an agreement between the north and the south ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As previously stated, the clause provides that representation in Congress will be based on the whole
number of free persons and three fifths of all other persons (Article 1 section 2 clause 3) which
referred to the slaves. According to Erik M. Jensen, professor of law, the popular misunderstanding in
regards to this provision is that it did not declare that African American slaves were three fifths of a
person but rather the provision was declaring that the slave states would get extra representation in
Congress for their slaves, even though those states treated slaves only as property. Ultimately, this
provision was not really about race but rather about status and political power for the states.
Something that some might not know is that free blacks were not counted in the same way as slaves
were. They were counted in the same way as all white men. (The Root) The reason for this is because
the clause did not say that a slave was three fifth of a person also, the clause had nothing that involved
free blacks. Instead, the clause gave us a mathematical formula for the allocation of representatives in
congress that factored in slave population. Although slaves could not vote, free blacks could vote in
some states. Long story short, the cause did not provide a voice for the slaves but rather this was about
the distribution of political power in the

The Mid 1960s
The mid 1970s was a time when some people still identified as hippies. In the small college town
where I lived then I was reading a book in the alternative cafe, when a self styled hippy sat down at
my table. Sharing tables was quite common for that cafe, which espoused a more Marxist, communal
way of doing things. The hippy man appeared to be in his 30s, which seemed ancient to me at the
time. I wasn t in the mood to chat but when I put down my book to greet him he started talking,
expounding on his philosophy of life and his solutions for what ailed the human race. One of his big
ideas involved bananas. He said, Everyone s so depressed and you know why? I didn t. They don t
have enough potassium, man! If everyone ate bananas they wouldn t be depressed. It s all in the
bananas! I had some ideas of my own that were as strange to him as his ideas were to me. Despite that,
we enjoyed each other s company for a little while and shared a few laughs. He got up to leave and we
shook hands. As he walked away he paused, looked back at me and said, I dig your mirth, man. And
then he was gone and I never saw him again. But the thought of him and our brief connection still
makes me smile. Ten years ago I accompanied a friend being admitted to an inpatient addiction rehab
clinic. I sat with him for moral support as the admission nurse asked him the standard questions. For
him, entering rehab was a moment of pure defeat, barely better than being in the gutter.

The Evolution Of Quality Management
I always enjoy reading about the history of something because it tends to show you the evolution of it.
In this case, the evolution of Quality is there. In the definition of quality in Chapter 2, Feigenbaum and
Crosby both state what they think is the contributing part of quality. Feigenbaum believes that meeting
the customers expectations is the key, while Crosby feels that if you put an impeccable product out,
then that s quality. However, Goetsch and Davis define a hybrid version of Feigenbaum and Crosby s
thoughts on Quality, which incorporate the constant change that is the customer. The customer is the
driving force that makes business produce goods and services. Each era in the history of quality has its
place. Lessons learned along the way have shaped where we are today Quality Management. In the
craftsmanship era, businesses had relationships with their small town customers who produced small
scale personable products or services that could be shared word of mouth. In order to take quality
business into the future there had to be major changes if companies were going to be able to produce
quality on the global scale. Quality managers tried everything from getting the employees to believe in
their work, receive awards, and incentives to do more with less. The history of Quality Management
has driven goods and services to be great, and change with the customers expectations which continue
changing.
Chapter 3: Quality management encompasses a combination of

The Progressive Era During The 1920 S
The progressive era during the 1890 s and 1920 s in the Unites States saw an economic expansion
with the aid of the industrial capitalists, a growing population with immigrants coming to the United
States seeking a better life through labor with American industrialization, and government corruption
being eliminated progressively by political reforms like the Sherman Antitrust Act. This era also had
complications such as racial tension between immigrants, poor working and living conditions amongst
the American public, society division based on different characteristics such as ethnicity and average
working revenue. As the works of Howard Zinn, Thomas C. Leonard, and David Montgomery specify
the endeavor America as a society underwent during the Progressive Era. Through the economic
expansion during the Progressive Era companies wanted to keep costs down while maintaining profits
high with low wages, poor working conditions, and long hours at the expense of immigrants. The
underrepresented individuals faced with these problematic issues consisted of blacks, whites, Chinese,
Europeans, and female labors. Wages in America during the Progressive Era had been based on race,
sex, and social class. Mary Stovall author of the article The Chicago Defender further expands on the
issue of class favoritism by elaborating in his work how blacks were charged higher rents than whites
for comparable housing . These problematic matters often caused a heated argument and in some

Freedom And Freedom In Kate Chopin s The Story Of An Hour
Kate Chopin wrote the short story The Story of an Hour in the late nineteenth century. The main
character, Mrs. Mallard, is a representation of all of the women of that time. Although they may be in
relationships where their husbands treat them well, it is not enough. All most women want is their
freedom and independence. They want to do as they please and not be dependent on their husband or
their family. Women in that time were simply not allowed to be independent or have their own
freedom. Before a woman is married she is known to belong to her family, and when she is married,
she belongs to her husband. This is why Mrs. Mallard was actually more delighted than devastated
when she heard the news of her husband being killed in a train accident. The news of her husband s
death brings tears of release rather than of grief (Harris). The theme of this short story is freedom and
independence but at a cost. There are many shocking turns of events throughout Kate Chopin s short
story which leads to Mrs. Mallard gaining her freedom, gaining her independence, and then losing
them both.
Once Mrs. Mallard learns of her husband s death from a train accident, she soon realizes that she has
finally gained her freedom; the freedom that she never had because of how women were identified
more as objects than as humans in that time. Joseph Rosenblum wrote that nothing can compensate
Louise for the freedom that she lost by marrying Mr. Mallard. Mrs. Mallard was exhausted of being in

Downward Social Reflection Theory
The social comparison theory suggests people learn their abilities and flaws by comparing themselves
to other people (Weiten, 2015, pg, 171). We compare ourselves with other who are similar on to our
characteristics or self worth. We compare ourselves to others when there is no influenced by personal
feelings or opinions in considering and representing facts. When I receive an average grade in a class,
I compare myself to a student received an A. This motivates me to look up to that classmate as a
mentor to enhance myself. It is important to have the attitude that you are cable and you can improve
rather than the opposite, I am unable and I can not improve. This method is called the upward social
comparison, which can make us feel worse or they inspire us to do better (Weiten, 2015, pg, 171). I
am guilty of downward social comparison when I receive a bad grade (C) on a test. If the teacher
announced that half the class failed, my mind would be at ease. Downward social comparison can
make us feel better (Weiten, 2015, pg, 171). The reference groups that I compare my academic
performance with is my fellow colleagues. Weiten, W., Dunn, D., Hammer, E. Y. (2018). Psychology
applied to modern life: adjustment in the 21st century. Boston, MA: Cengage Learning. The test
defines a person in two different categories, either your one (A) or the other (B). I believe it
demonstrates how people should be more aware of their personality, especially if it is going

Disney kept it PG 13; successfully making the once morbid myth of Hercules upbeat. To start off; in

Why Did The Feud Between The Capulets And The Montagues...
Three Questions Why did the feud between the Capulets and the Montagues begin? One reason for the
feud could be different social standings. It can be assumed that the Montagues are of a lower social
class, due to the way they speak. If you read closely you can notice the Montagues speak with a bit
less rhythm than the Capulets do. How did Lord Montague know where Romeo was early morning?
Due to the fact that Lord Montague is Romeo s father, it is logical to simply infer that Lord Montague
followed Romeo. Lord Montague would have done this after noticing the behavioral changes Romeo
was exhibiting. These changes then would have concerned Lord and Lady Montague, prompting at
least one of them to follow Romeo to see why he was so upset. Why do Lord and Lady Capulet want
Juliet to marry Paris? Although Lord and Lady Capulet both want Juliet to marry, I feel like they both
have different reasons. Since Lord Capulet wants to wait until Juliet is older, and even hosts a party so
Juliet may choose who she marries; I feel as though he wants her to get married to improve her mental
health. He is definitely considering Juliet s feelings more than Lady Capulet is. While Lady Capulet
does ask Juliet her thoughts on marriage, she gives off the impression that her speech would be the
same regardless of Juliet s answer. Even though Juliet says she is not interested in marriage, Lady
Capulet attempts to persuade her. But not just to marry in general, to marry Paris. Lady Capulet s

The Pros And Cons Of Informed Consent
Informed consent is a critical process that places professionalism and legalism into practice in the
healthcare setting. It is an approval by the patient to receive care or treatment, while having full
knowledge of the benefits or risks that may accompany it, and is generally accompanied by the patient
s signature if consent is given (Black Chitty, 2014). Often times, informed consent is assumed to be
the physical document the patient signs, however, it is actually the legal practice that provides an
opportunity for the patient to gain a complete understanding of the procedure before deciding to
consent to it or not (Black Chitty, 2014). There are three main requirements of informed consent,
which include: it must be given voluntarily, it must be given to a person who has the capability to
understand, and it has to include adequate information necessary for the patient to formulate a
decision (Black Chitty, 2014). Informed consent involves a direct communication process between the
physician and the patient regarding specific details of treatment. According to Black and Chitty
(2014), it should include information regarding benefits, risks, potential side effects, costs, and
alternative treatments. In order to be considered legally acceptable, informed consent must be
complete, competent, and voluntary; each of these conditions must be evaluated for legal purposes
(Black Chitty, 2014). Along with the inclusion of specific criteria, informed consent must be

as in ownership (Palahniuk 14). This view of love is not positive, as it is used to control others.
However, there is irony within this because none of the characters within the novel want to be
controlled. Not falling in love can also serve as a reason to uphold masculinity. The readers could tell
that the narrator was head over heels for Marla Singer, one of the few female characters in the novel,
but he refuses to approach it. He said, I tell Tyler, Marla Singer doesn t need a lover, she needs a care
worker. Tyler says, Don t call this love (Palahniuk 62). The narrator and Tyler agree with each other
that they are most certainly not in love with Marla, but the readers know he is. Another example is
present when the narrator believed he liked Marla but claimed he did not love her. It s not love or
anything . . . But I think I like you, too (Palahniuk 205). In the world of Fight Club, liking

Irish Immigration To America Essay
Ireland in America
The United States has always been known as The Land of Immigrants. People from all parts of the
globe have traveled to America, to be free from oppression, disease, and hunger, or simply to start a
new life. Many different people of different culture, race, and religion have made their mark and
helped to shape the American culture. One of the most influential immigration movements in
American History is the Irish Immigration. During the 18th century the Irish slowly began their
migration to America. Centuries of oppression from Protestant English rule had forced them to live
very poor lives under strict rules, in some cases having to renounce their Catholic beliefs and having
to abandon their Gaelic ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The women worked manly as servants called Brigets, to upper class families.
In the south, mainly New Orleans, the Irish lived in the swampland, living with diseases such as
yellow fever and malaria. The Irish men were looked at as lower than slaves, as one historian puts it If
a plantation owner loses a slave, he loses an investment, If a plantation owner loses a laborer he can
just find another (Walt). Because of this, many were put into very dangerous jobs.
In cities such as Boston and New York, Irish immigrants were packed into slums and many still were
dying as a result of hunger and disease. The Irish were discriminated against, mainly for being
Catholics in an almost exclusively Protestant society. Many factories and employers posted signs on
their doors, workers wanted, no Irish need apply (Considine 5). With the low wages that the Irish were
earning (although much higher than they would receive in Ireland), one would think that the money
would all be spent on feeding and housing the worker and their family, but this was not the case.
Through backbreaking sacrifice, they were able to send home a few shillings or pounds at a time until
a sister, a brother, a mother, father, daughter, aunt, uncle, cousin or friend had enough money to buy
the ship ticket (Considine 46). This devotion of the Irish to their family and their fellow countrymen is
a remarkable aspect of their culture.

Philip Larkin Next Please
Philip Larkin s poem next, please is a criticism of human expectancy. Larkin addresses our passive
nature on how we live our lives; always looking for what is next but never enjoying what we have in
the moment. Larkin emerges the reader into the poem by placing them on the cliff watching with the
narrator by writing the poem in first a first person narrative. He presents the idea of life s event being a
line of approaching ships and the last ship being death. through the use of rhyme scheme, vivid
language, and extended metaphor and sentence structure Larkin places emphasis on the problems in
the way we live.
Larkin presents the idea that instead of living in the moment we constantly look forward for
something new, this is first presented in the title Next, please. The title has a dismissive and habitual

How Technology Has Made Braces Faster And More Efficient
Daily, children and adults all over the world flood into orthodontic offices for consultations, routine
management checkups, and the rest. The majority of people in today s age have had or will have
braces at some point in their life. However, most people may not be aware of the downsides to
appliances such as braces. Although advancements in orthodontic technology have made braces faster
and more efficient, they are causing unnecessary stress on ligaments and gene tissue found inside the
mouth because of the new found techniques to speed up tooth movement. To start, there are many
children and adults undergo orthodontic treatment mainly for appearance; however, there are many
health concerns braces and other appliances can fix. Braces for teeth consist of bands connected by
wires and, sometimes, small rubber bands. Orthodontists use braces to correct irregular positioning of
the teeth and jaws ( Specialties of Dentistry 144). Correcting jaw alignment can help improve the pain
felt during biting and other jaw movements. Braces can be applied to one s mouth for any duration of
time ranging anywhere from 8 to 26 months. Orthodontic appliances are designed to fix malocclusions
of the mouth, which literally means bad bite , and can be painful if not treated. Hilton explains, In a
controlled manner, dental appliances gently force teeth to move through the supporting bone to a
desired position. The purpose of the appliances is to correct tooth crowding, overjet or protruding

In A Terribly Strange Bed the main part of the story is set in the back street of a seedy gambling house
in Paris. The atmosphere is described, Here, there was nothing but tragedy mute weird tragedy. The

Social Categorization In Breakfast At Tiffany s
In psychology, social categorization is the process of classifying people into groups based on similar
characteristics. It is a natural part of social perception; it provides a mental shortcut in that it allows us
to infer traits about a person based on the traits of others in the same category (Social Categorization).
Applying the psychological idea of social categorization, Truman Capote uses the narrator to give an
impression of Holly Golightly s character, in Breakfast at Tiffany s, to be translucent and careless,
which illustrates her as achromatic, but in truth, those are the very characteristic that make her
mysterious and vibrant. Translucent is delineated by allowing light to pass through, but not seeing the

She demonstrates copious amount times throughout the book, instances of her escaping. An example
of this, is when O.J. Berman, Holly s agent, tells the narrator the story of why Holly is in New York: I
say what the hell are you doing in New York when it s Sunday and you got the test tomorrow? She
says I m in New York because I ve never been to New York. I say get your ass on a plane and get back
here, she says I don t want it. I say what s your angle, doll? She says you got to want it to be good and
I don t want it (Capote; 26). This is a perfect example of how when there is something Holly does not
want to do she runs away and in this case she ran all the way across the country. Holly does not care
who she is letting down or what previous commitments she has made, if she does not want to do it
then she will not do it. Holly is very unreliable in this case. Before California, Holly had ran away
from her husband Doc Golightly, another prime example of how undependable she is. Doc Golightly
tracked down the narrator to tell him that [Holly] knew good and well what she was doing when she
promised to be [his] wife and the mother of [his] churren. She plain broke [their] hearts when she ran
off like she done (Capote; 54). There was no reason for Holly to run off, but later Doc explains that

General Schwarzkopf, in Senate Committee hearings following the war, described that he was often
fed heavily caveated reporting or it was not timely enough . An explanation for this is that the
collection plan was targeted against the problem sets and compartmented in a hierarchical manner in
order to understand the environment against which fielded forces were arrayed. However, there were
many issues in the employment of intelligence in this manner, including timeliness, security caveat
and collection priorities and battle damage assessment . An analysis of elements that comprised the A2
for Op DESERT STORM suggests that the war represents a continuation on the spectrum of
intelligence technological and doctrinal development that occurred post WW2, through Vietnam and
through the Cold War. The next area that will be considered is the conduct of operations examining
platforms, weapons, and targeting. During Op DESERT STORM whilst there were 34 members of the

airpower has to focus primarily on the US, with the UK, France, Canada and Italy taken into account
albeit to a lesser extent, due to their relative contribution. In quantitative

If we benchmark UPS relative to best of breed(BOB) industry premium using FedEx as the industrial
comparable, then we come up with an average UPS market capitalization of $ 30,415 million. Using
the 58% average BOB premium for the trailing price to earnings multiple, we come up with UPS
market capitalization of $21,985 million. If we use the 103% average BOB premium for the market to
book multiple, then we come with UPS market capitalization of $38,845 million. UPS doesn¡¦t seem
like it deserves a BOB premium because its only has 15% higher net income than FedEx where the
BOB premium companies average over 200% higher net income than the industrial comparable. But,
since the last year¡¦s net income was negatively affected by the tax court ruling we believe their net
income in 1999 should be looked at without this one time write off against their net income which
would bring their net income more closer to what the BOB premium companies average. Conclusion
We believe the UPS¡¦s actual market capitalization and stock value lies somewhere between $17,520
million and $30,415 million. Although we believe that UPS shouldn¡¦t be fully valued using the BOB
premium because of the uncertain future business and financial prospects, we also don¡¦t think just
using FedEx¡¦s multiples as benchmark for the UPS¡¦s value captures the true market capitalization
value for UPS.

Why Steel Build Tall Buildings
One of the most prevalent features seen throughout the modernization of the world in various places is
the expansion of infrastructure. Buildings were built taller, roads were constructed more extensively,
and bridges connecting two areas of land separated by water were formed. As cities became larger,
populations increased, and with it, property values went up. As the population and land prices rose, the
urgency for taller buildings grew with it. However, all of this required a material that was strong
enough to withstand an immense amount of force. The higher buildings were built, the more likely it
was to collapse from enduring all of that weight. Large scale buildings were built through the use of
iron frames combined with glass or other ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Steel is an alloy primarily containing iron with slight amounts of carbon carefully controlled. Steel
provided both the strength of cast iron and ductility of wrought iron, making it a viable option for
constructing tall buildings, particularly the construction of skyscapers.2 These two factors enabled
steel to be molded into strong frames that did not require additional bracing for support, unlike iron.
Therefore, steel made building light and tall structures a feasible idea. The primary type of steel
favored for constructing tall structures were carbon steel. Carbon steel is a type of steel made from
iron and a tiny amount of carbon (2% to be exact). Iron is quite soft in its pure form, yet by blasting it
in a furnace, it becomes hard. However, this process results in the iron becoming more brittle at the
same time due to the high content of carbon as well as other impurities. In order to make it less brittle,
carbon is extracted from the iron until only a precise amount remains, creating steel. Iron is used
because it is fairly strong despite being brittle after coming out of the furnace and is also very
abundant. Carbon is used to make the iron stronger, and by controlling the amount of carbon in the
iron, the iron becomes less brittle. Through this process, steel is

South Africa has had a history of treating people of African descent as inferior despite them being the
majority. During the 19th century, British settlers tried to restrict the movement of black people in and

whites complete political control over all races. During World War II, Jan Smut led the United Party

Toussaint Loverture And The Haitian Revolution
Documentary Assignment:
Egalite For All: Toussaint Louverture and the Haitian Revolution
How did the French Revolution impact events on San Domingue (Haiti)? What did the revolution
mean for the French? For Haitians? Why was this both contradictory and dangerous?
The success and vigorous pursuit of freedom from oppression in the French Revolution inspired the
Haitians to believe that they were capable of doing the same; the Haitians, being treated like animals,
wanted their inherent rights. The overbearing French governing body had collapsed and the Third
Estate was likely to receive a brighter future. The Haitians were still locked down as property and
animals, but they craved to have the inherent rights that all men are privileged to. The French got their
rights while the Haitians did not; this was quite the volatile scenario ready to fall off the self and spark
revolution.
Why would a slave in Haiti not last more than 3 years upon arrival from Africa?
The system was incredibly brutal and non lenient to the slaves, and all the while, disease was capable
of ravaging them. Many various types of grievous torture were a regular occurrence in Haiti.
How would you describe Toussaint Loverture(The Black Spartacus)? How did he come to lead the
revolution?
Loverture was headstrong, passionate man ready to use his wit to fight for what he believed right.
After a fortunate childhood in slavery and freedom, Loverture was able to bare witness to multiple
societal perspectives.

are recognized for their ability to cause harm in the human body (Lustgarten, Abraham). Colborn and
her co authors went a step further to evaluate every chemical on the list in terms of health effects, and
the results were alarming. Although the effects were detrimental across the board, Colborn found 71
chemicals that were associated with causing harm in 10 or more areas, including the central nervous
system, cardiovascular system, and reproductive systems. What is even more concerning is that
companies find a way to justify their use of harmful substances by claiming that they make up only a
small fraction of the injected fluid; less than one percent. However, experts like Colborn believe that
even a seemingly small percentage translates to tens of thousands of gallons of these chemicals being
pumped underground, and their research shows that even very low doses of the compounds can cause
significant damage (Lustgarten, Abraham). One of the most prominent concerns regarding the toxicity
of chemical additives lies in the threat of groundwater contamination. Although a 2004 EPA study
concluded that fracking poses no threat to drinking water, the rising

Joints
Where two bones meet or link, it is called a joint or an articulation. Joints can be classified according
to their structure and by the types of movement they allow. The body has more than 300 different
joints.
In the body there are three types of joints...
Moveable/Synovial joints Moveable joints allow for maximum movement. Moveable or synovial
joints are normally found in the limbs, as we use these parts more than anything. Ligaments help to
provide the stability of the bones, also the muscles contract giving movement. Examples of synovial
joints are the ball and socket joints, these are found in the shoulder and the hip joints , these joints are
the most mobile joints in the body as they allow the arms and legs to move. All synovial ... Show more

These joints are normally found in the wrist. The bone surfaces that meet are almost flat and slide over
each other. The tarsals in the foot and the carpals in the wrist move in this way.
Ball and socket joint The ball and socket joint allows for the widest range of movement. Examples of
these would be the shoulder joint which the ball end of the bone sits in a socket which allows the
bones to move in a 360 degree angle.
Saddle joint The saddle joint allows

Should Nuclear Waste Be Stored In South Australia
Should nuclear waste be stored in South Australia?
Should we be letting the rest of the world use our backyard as a dump for nuclear waste? South
Australia is considering to build a nuclear waste dump which would ultimately hold 13% of the
worlds high level nuclear waste. Currently this waste is being held around the world in different
locations, i agree this is not a permanent solution but neither is burying it in the ground. I don t agree
that we should be building a nuclear waste dump in South Australia but instead putting our time and
money towards something more renewable would be a better investment. Nor is it necessary because
in thirty years the world will run on renewable energy.
We are forgetting the crucial what if question. What if there was a radiation leak in the containers that
the waste was transported in, what if radiation was exposed all over South Australia, maybe even
spreading to other states. Taking into consideration the potential risk of radiation across our
community and eco systems. Radiation is a deadly disease that weakens and breaks up DNA, either
damaging cells enough to kill them or causing them to mutate in ways that may eventually lead to
cancer. Not only ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I believe we are putting ourselves at even bigger risk putting 13% of the worlds high level waste in
our backyard. It s like we are putting a big flag up to terrorists and criminals saying I m here come and
get me. Also having it in one play especially south Australia would drastically dwindle the already low
amount of tourists in South Australia, we would be giving a South Australia a bad

Gladitorial Games In Roman Culture
The romans attitude towards sport was diffent than that of the anicent Greeks. For the Greeks, sport
was a way for citizens to demonstrate athleticism, and prowess. For the roman empire, sport,
particularly Gladitorial games was a way to deisplay power and influence within the local community.
They indulged in violence and bloodlust presupposing that human life has always been regarded
highly that humanitarian ideals have always been the norm. Gladiatorial combats have always been
surrounded with the miasmas of death (Alison, Futrell 2001, 3.). This was not due to the bloodshed
involved, but to the origin in the ceremonies of public funerals. The Romans adopted the custom of
the human sacrifice by killing prisoners on the graves of warriors. Roman religion revolved around the

This was done by providing a blood offering at the dead person s funeral to appease the gods and
ensure a rite of passage into the afterlife. Gladiator games shows us of how barbaric the Roman
practice was and what its existence said about the roman society. The values and virtues of gladitorial
combat were also important as a means of social control. During the Roman revolution, the games lost
a considerable degree of religious significance and began to assume increasing social and political
importance. The arena contained the force inherent in a totalitarian system, replicating the brutality of
empire in a controlled environment 3Alison, Futrell. Blood in the arena: The spectacle of Roman
power. University of Texas Press, 2001, 6. As the value of the games became more apparent,
competition arose between public figures by trying to woo or impress the people through spectacles.
During the Republic when gladiatorial games were held as commemorations of the dead, the
sponsoring families who were spectacular enough to impress the people would be greatly benefited in
the way that their social status would increase by bringing their name to the voting

  • 2. Saudi Arabia Women s Rights Violations Saudi Arabia s women s rights injustices violate a variety of the articles of the Universe Declaration of Human Rights, proving their abuses to be clear human rights issues. Article 3 of the UDHR clearly states that Everyone has the right to life, liberty, and security of person ( The Universal ). Unfortunately, there is a system at work that takes away the liberty of the women of Saudi Arabia. Journalist Katherine Zoepf has described the guardianship system as a system which requires an adult woman to get permission from her guardian before traveling overseas or seeking medical care ( Sisters in ). Not only that, but she also adds that the male relative with responsibility over a Saudi woman may be her own adolescent son ( Sisters in ). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The sentence in an adultery case may be a hundred lashes for the male offender. For the female, however, the sentence may be death ( Sisters in ). This doesn t exactly demonstrate the equal before the law method laid out in the declaration. A third but no less important violation is the violation of article 2. Article 2 states that Everyone is entitled to all the rights and freedoms set forth in this Declaration, without distinction of any kind, such as race, colour, sex, language, religion, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth or other status ( The Universal ). In Saudi Arabia, contrary to this article, many regulations apply solely to women. Women cannot drive cars, they cannot be in public without a male chaperone, they cannot swim in swimming pools, they cannot enter a cemetery, they cannot marry without their male guardian s permission, and they cannot be seen anywhere without an abaya and a head covering ( Eleven things )( World Report 2015 ). Marketing Plan The difference between wild and commercial blueberries and the possibility to choose which type of blueberries customer wants in one place is what separates this farm from others and will be the main point of marketing. The farm is serving local costumers and local forms of promotions will be used. Permanent sigh will be placed by the road, and yard sighs will be placed through the community during harvest time. The farm will establish its presence on social media and will use posts to inform farm supporters about new development, opening hours, beginning of the harvest season and where our blueberries can be purchased. Social media will also be used to advertise to local community. Blueberries when ready for picking will be priced similarly like on others blueberry farms in the region. For pick your own blueberries the price will be same for both wild and commercial berries, for blueberries already picked, the price for wild blueberries will be slightly higher, which will account for smaller berries and longer picking time. The globe must be shaken to actuate the snow so the white particles can fall gradually to reach the base. When the marble (object used for this experiment) falls, it experiences two external forces which are; the gravitational force and the aerodynamic (fluid resistance) drag of the marble, which affects the rate of the marble. As the marble is falling, the speed is increased due to the gravitational force, which is pulling the marble downwards to the base of the beaker until it reaches the terminal velocity, where both external forces are equal. However, there are factors that can affect the marble s terminal velocity, such as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, the results are completely different. The results shown in the table, the water and cornstarch solution is most suitable liquid to use in the snow globes due to its thick viscosity compared to other solutions. Hence, the marble traveled slower as it created more drag onto the marble. Nevertheless, the water itself had low viscosity compared to other solutions because the marble reached the base faster of the measuring cylinder. As a result, it created less drag onto the marble compared to water and cornstarch solution. Therefore, the thicker the solution, the longer it takes for the marble to reach the base of the measuring cylinder. However, if the solution has low viscosity (such as water itself), the faster it the time it takes for the marble to reach the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This chapter has some really helpful concepts validated by scripture and explained with helpful models that should get every Christian excited about ministry to the city. This chapter is about sharing the good news with people and grabbing their attention and respect with goo deeds. This chapter is about the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. This chapter is also about loving the city and living in the city in away that is compatible with the needs and dreams of the city. This is my favorite chapter in the book by far. It contains a really solid biblical theology for loving the city. I ve never seen any Christian in my life raise a person from the dead in the name of God. I may never see a supernatural miracle in my life, but I m certainly not going to say that it can t happen. Maybe we just don t have enough faith to raise people from the dead in the name of Jesus. More commonly I think we have the ability to transform the city though doing unwarranted acts of kindness in our community. In Galatians 2 Paul extorts us to remember the poor in good deeds of service. Let us be eager to serve in this way but not forget to share the life saving word of God. Paul also models for us in Romans 1 when he says he is eager to share the gospel and that it is the power of God s salvation for all that believe. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. The Heroic Heroes Of Greek Mythology ENGAGING HOOK. Atalanta was one of the admirable heroes in Greek mythology. She was similar to the goddess Artemis, in that Atalanta was also an exceptional huntress who loved the wild and had no interest in men. After birth, Atalanta s father left her to die in the wild, but a she bear discovered little Atalanta and kept her alive. Eventually, hunters found Atalanta and taught her to hunt (Hamilton 246). Atalanta became so skilled at hunting that Edith Hamilton referred to her as the pride of the woods of Arcady, and Atalanta even partook in the hunt for the monstrous boar that Artemis set loose to ravage the country of Calydon (246 247). Atalanta was the first to strike the boar with her arrow, earning her the honorary boar skin (248). Atalanta thereafter went on to win a wrestling match against a man named Peleus (249). Later, Atalanta s father heard of her heroism and welcomed her back home (249). Through much mistreatment and triumph, Atalanta came to represent the ideal of gender equality. The first way in which Atalanta came to represent the ideal of gender equality was that she faced discrimination on account of her gender. Since her birth, others treated Atalanta as less than the opposite sex. Atalanta s father left her for dead in the wilderness when she was just an infant, because he desired male children (Atsma). Atalanta s gender was a death sentence. Sadly, the discrimination Atalanta faced continued on into womanhood. Though she was a fierce huntress, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. The Vietnam War Was A Significant Moment For Canada The Vietnam War was a historically significant moment for Canada which followed the First and Second World War. This was due to Canada s large involvement in helping the South of Vietnam in their war efforts. Canada plays a large roll in this war costs and their manufacturing for war materials. One must first know how the war began before understanding how Canada contributed. Although the start of the Vietnam War had nothing to do with Canada, later events in the war were related to Canada largely. The beginning of the war is a crucial part in how we got involved in the Vietnam War. On May 7th 1954, Viet Minh had finally won the Battle of Dien Bien Phu marking the end of the First Indochina War. This was a breakthrough for Vietnam because this meant that France was no longer involved with Vietnam, and the French would then seize fire. A new government would now rule Vietnam. The North of Vietnam was becoming communist while the South of Vietnam was becoming more anti communist. The United States of America feared that if communism took over Vietnam, it would then start to spread to South East Asia. The United States of America feared this possibility because it would then be a much greater threat to them than they thought originally. On the 8th of March 1965 the United States of America decided to take action and form an alliance with South Vietnam anti communist forces and they sent 3, 500 soldiers to fight in the Vietnam War. • 10. Three Fifths Compromise Essay There are a number of compromises that can be found in the U.S constitution, all having had a major role in shaping what we all know today as the United States of America. With so many important compromises it is hard to chose just one. That being said, the compromise which I intend to discuss is the three fifths compromise. This compromise is important in our history and is a pretty controversial matter.Three fifths compromise was important for both the northern and southern states. The main question that was brought up for this subject was if slaves should be counted in census to determine the number of congressional delegates a state should recieve. As previously stated, the clause provides that representation in Congress will be based on the whole number of free persons and three fifths of all other persons (Article 1 section 2 clause 3) which referred to the slaves. According to Erik M. Jensen, professor of law, the popular misunderstanding in regards to this provision is that it did not declare that African American slaves were three fifths of a person but rather the provision was declaring that the slave states would get extra representation in Congress for their slaves, even though those states treated slaves only as property. Ultimately, this provision was not really about race but rather about status and political power for the states. Something that some might not know is that free blacks were not counted in the same way as slaves were. They were counted in the same way as all white men. (The Root) The reason for this is because the clause did not say that a slave was three fifth of a person also, the clause had nothing that involved free blacks. Instead, the clause gave us a mathematical formula for the allocation of representatives in congress that factored in slave population. Although slaves could not vote, free blacks could vote in some states. Long story short, the cause did not provide a voice for the slaves but rather this was about the distribution of political power in the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In the small college town where I lived then I was reading a book in the alternative cafe, when a self styled hippy sat down at my table. Sharing tables was quite common for that cafe, which espoused a more Marxist, communal way of doing things. The hippy man appeared to be in his 30s, which seemed ancient to me at the time. I wasn t in the mood to chat but when I put down my book to greet him he started talking, expounding on his philosophy of life and his solutions for what ailed the human race. One of his big ideas involved bananas. He said, Everyone s so depressed and you know why? I didn t. They don t have enough potassium, man! If everyone ate bananas they wouldn t be depressed. It s all in the bananas! I had some ideas of my own that were as strange to him as his ideas were to me. Despite that, we enjoyed each other s company for a little while and shared a few laughs. He got up to leave and we shook hands. As he walked away he paused, looked back at me and said, I dig your mirth, man. And then he was gone and I never saw him again. But the thought of him and our brief connection still makes me smile. Ten years ago I accompanied a friend being admitted to an inpatient addiction rehab clinic. In the definition of quality in Chapter 2, Feigenbaum and Crosby both state what they think is the contributing part of quality. Feigenbaum believes that meeting the customers expectations is the key, while Crosby feels that if you put an impeccable product out, then that s quality. However, Goetsch and Davis define a hybrid version of Feigenbaum and Crosby s thoughts on Quality, which incorporate the constant change that is the customer. The customer is the driving force that makes business produce goods and services. Each era in the history of quality has its place. Lessons learned along the way have shaped where we are today Quality Management. In the craftsmanship era, businesses had relationships with their small town customers who produced small scale personable products or services that could be shared word of mouth. In order to take quality business into the future there had to be major changes if companies were going to be able to produce quality on the global scale. Quality managers tried everything from getting the employees to believe in their work, receive awards, and incentives to do more with less. The history of Quality Management has driven goods and services to be great, and change with the customers expectations which continue changing. The Progressive Era During The 1920 S The progressive era during the 1890 s and 1920 s in the Unites States saw an economic expansion with the aid of the industrial capitalists, a growing population with immigrants coming to the United States seeking a better life through labor with American industrialization, and government corruption being eliminated progressively by political reforms like the Sherman Antitrust Act. This era also had complications such as racial tension between immigrants, poor working and living conditions amongst the American public, society division based on different characteristics such as ethnicity and average working revenue. As the works of Howard Zinn, Thomas C. Leonard, and David Montgomery specify the endeavor America as a society underwent during the Progressive Era. The underrepresented individuals faced with these problematic issues consisted of blacks, whites, Chinese, Europeans, and female labors. Wages in America during the Progressive Era had been based on race, sex, and social class. The main character, Mrs. Mallard, is a representation of all of the women of that time. Although they may be in relationships where their husbands treat them well, it is not enough. All most women want is their freedom and independence. They want to do as they please and not be dependent on their husband or their family. Women in that time were simply not allowed to be independent or have their own freedom. Before a woman is married she is known to belong to her family, and when she is married, she belongs to her husband. This is why Mrs. Mallard was actually more delighted than devastated when she heard the news of her husband being killed in a train accident. The news of her husband s death brings tears of release rather than of grief (Harris). The theme of this short story is freedom and independence but at a cost. There are many shocking turns of events throughout Kate Chopin s short story which leads to Mrs. Mallard gaining her freedom, gaining her independence, and then losing them both. Once Mrs. Mallard learns of her husband s death from a train accident, she soon realizes that she has finally gained her freedom; the freedom that she never had because of how women were identified more as objects than as humans in that time. Joseph Rosenblum wrote that nothing can compensate Louise for the freedom that she lost by marrying Mr. Mallard. Mrs. Mallard was exhausted of being in a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

We compare ourselves with other who are similar on to our characteristics or self worth. We compare ourselves to others when there is no influenced by personal feelings or opinions in considering and representing facts. When I receive an average grade in a class, I compare myself to a student received an A. This motivates me to look up to that classmate as a mentor to enhance myself. It is important to have the attitude that you are cable and you can improve rather than the opposite, I am unable and I can not improve. This method is called the upward social comparison, which can make us feel worse or they inspire us to do better (Weiten, 2015, pg, 171). I am guilty of downward social comparison when I receive a bad grade (C) on a test. If the teacher announced that half the class failed, my mind would be at ease. • 19. Why Did The Feud Between The Capulets And The Montagues... Three Questions Why did the feud between the Capulets and the Montagues begin? One reason for the feud could be different social standings. It can be assumed that the Montagues are of a lower social class, due to the way they speak. If you read closely you can notice the Montagues speak with a bit less rhythm than the Capulets do. How did Lord Montague know where Romeo was early morning? Due to the fact that Lord Montague is Romeo s father, it is logical to simply infer that Lord Montague followed Romeo. Lord Montague would have done this after noticing the behavioral changes Romeo was exhibiting. These changes then would have concerned Lord and Lady Montague, prompting at least one of them to follow Romeo to see why he was so upset. Why do Lord and Lady Capulet want Juliet to marry Paris? Although Lord and Lady Capulet both want Juliet to marry, I feel like they both have different reasons. Since Lord Capulet wants to wait until Juliet is older, and even hosts a party so Juliet may choose who she marries; I feel as though he wants her to get married to improve her mental health. He is definitely considering Juliet s feelings more than Lady Capulet is. While Lady Capulet does ask Juliet her thoughts on marriage, she gives off the impression that her speech would be the same regardless of Juliet s answer. It is an approval by the patient to receive care or treatment, while having full knowledge of the benefits or risks that may accompany it, and is generally accompanied by the patient s signature if consent is given (Black Chitty, 2014). Often times, informed consent is assumed to be the physical document the patient signs, however, it is actually the legal practice that provides an opportunity for the patient to gain a complete understanding of the procedure before deciding to consent to it or not (Black Chitty, 2014). There are three main requirements of informed consent, which include: it must be given voluntarily, it must be given to a person who has the capability to understand, and it has to include adequate information necessary for the patient to formulate a decision (Black Chitty, 2014). Informed consent involves a direct communication process between the physician and the patient regarding specific details of treatment. According to Black and Chitty (2014), it should include information regarding benefits, risks, potential side effects, costs, and alternative treatments. Because of this, many were put into very dangerous jobs. In cities such as Boston and New York, Irish immigrants were packed into slums and many still were dying as a result of hunger and disease. The Irish were discriminated against, mainly for being Catholics in an almost exclusively Protestant society. Through backbreaking sacrifice, they were able to send home a few shillings or pounds at a time until a sister, a brother, a mother, father, daughter, aunt, uncle, cousin or friend had enough money to buy the ship ticket (Considine 46). How Technology Has Made Braces Faster And More Efficient Daily, children and adults all over the world flood into orthodontic offices for consultations, routine management checkups, and the rest. The majority of people in today s age have had or will have braces at some point in their life. However, most people may not be aware of the downsides to appliances such as braces. Although advancements in orthodontic technology have made braces faster and more efficient, they are causing unnecessary stress on ligaments and gene tissue found inside the mouth because of the new found techniques to speed up tooth movement. To start, there are many children and adults undergo orthodontic treatment mainly for appearance; however, there are many health concerns braces and other appliances can fix. Braces for teeth consist of bands connected by wires and, sometimes, small rubber bands. Orthodontists use braces to correct irregular positioning of the teeth and jaws ( Specialties of Dentistry 144). Correcting jaw alignment can help improve the pain felt during biting and other jaw movements. Braces can be applied to one s mouth for any duration of time ranging anywhere from 8 to 26 months. Orthodontic appliances are designed to fix malocclusions of the mouth, which literally means bad bite , and can be painful if not treated. It is a natural part of social perception; it provides a mental shortcut in that it allows us to infer traits about a person based on the traits of others in the same category (Social Categorization). Applying the psychological idea of social categorization, Truman Capote uses the narrator to give an impression of Holly Golightly s character, in Breakfast at Tiffany s, to be translucent and careless, which illustrates her as achromatic, but in truth, those are the very characteristic that make her mysterious and vibrant. She says I m in New York because I ve never been to New York. I say get your ass on a plane and get back here, she says I don t want it. I say what s your angle, doll? She says you got to want it to be good and I don t want it (Capote; 26). Holly does not care who she is letting down or what previous commitments she has made, if she does not want to do it then she will not do it. Holly is very unreliable in this case. Buildings were built taller, roads were constructed more extensively, and bridges connecting two areas of land separated by water were formed. As cities became larger, populations increased, and with it, property values went up. As the population and land prices rose, the urgency for taller buildings grew with it. However, all of this required a material that was strong enough to withstand an immense amount of force. The higher buildings were built, the more likely it was to collapse from enduring all of that weight. Large scale buildings were built through the use of iron frames combined with glass or other ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Steel is an alloy primarily containing iron with slight amounts of carbon carefully controlled. Steel provided both the strength of cast iron and ductility of wrought iron, making it a viable option for constructing tall buildings, particularly the construction of skyscapers.2 These two factors enabled steel to be molded into strong frames that did not require additional bracing for support, unlike iron. Therefore, steel made building light and tall structures a feasible idea. The primary type of steel favored for constructing tall structures were carbon steel. Carbon steel is a type of steel made from iron and a tiny amount of carbon (2% to be exact). Iron is quite soft in its pure form, yet by blasting it in a furnace, it becomes hard. However, this process results in the iron becoming more brittle at the same time due to the high content of carbon as well as other impurities. In order to make it less brittle, carbon is extracted from the iron until only a precise amount remains, creating steel. Iron is used because it is fairly strong despite being brittle after coming out of the furnace and is also very abundant. Carbon is used to make the iron stronger, and by controlling the amount of carbon in the iron, the iron becomes less brittle. Through this process, steel is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Toussaint Loverture And The Haitian Revolution Documentary Assignment: Egalite For All: Toussaint Louverture and the Haitian Revolution How did the French Revolution impact events on San Domingue (Haiti)? What did the revolution mean for the French? For Haitians? Why was this both contradictory and dangerous? The success and vigorous pursuit of freedom from oppression in the French Revolution inspired the Haitians to believe that they were capable of doing the same; the Haitians, being treated like animals, wanted their inherent rights. The overbearing French governing body had collapsed and the Third Estate was likely to receive a brighter future. The Haitians were still locked down as property and animals, but they craved to have the inherent rights that all men are privileged to. The French got their rights while the Haitians did not; this was quite the volatile scenario ready to fall off the self and spark revolution. Why would a slave in Haiti not last more than 3 years upon arrival from Africa? The system was incredibly brutal and non lenient to the slaves, and all the while, disease was capable of ravaging them. Many various types of grievous torture were a regular occurrence in Haiti.
