Gender Equality In Iron Jawed Angels
Tuesday, November 8 2016 was the first time I was old enough to vote for the presidential election.
After watching Iron Jawed Angels, I realized how much I have taken for granted in my life and how
incredibly grateful I am for all of the women that have fought for women equality including; Alice
Paul and Lucy Burns. There are still on going debates in todays society about gender equality, but it s
crazy to see how 100 plus years ago some of the rights women have now, going to school and voting,
didn t exist. In 1912, Alice Paul and Lucy Burns fought together among other women for the right to
vote. They fought for not only white women, but women of all races. Throughout Iron Jawed Angels
the women fought hard, even during the time of war and while they were in jail, for their rights and
equality. It wasn t until August 26, 1920 that women could vote. Before that women could not attend
college or pursue training for most professions (Woods, 57). During the movie, Alice Paul was
creating a friendship with a male who taught her how to drive which is interesting because in todays
society almost every women knows how to drive or has the privilege to drive but back then only men
drove or could even afford a car because they had the right to work. In the movie Iron Jawed Angels,
Senetor Leighton and his family are described as a stereotypical family during their time period. He
provides for his wife and two kids while, his wife stays at home and doesn t work.

Witch Trials Shaped America
Going into this project I only knew barely anything about it. I knew Bridget Bishop and her role
though. I also knew that in the witch trials many people were killed. I chose this topic because I didn t
know much about it. Also chose this topic because it interested me. I also chose this topic because I
like to learn new things. I think this time period really shaped America and how it evolved. It really
showed people how evidence can be altered and twisted. During the trials many people were accused
but many people were not guilty. Most evidence given was spectral evidence and this is now not used
or valued highly in court. During this time many false accusations were made and then dropped just
because someone didn t like another. Also some

Developmental Disability (DD) is a disability that is manifested before the person reaches the age of
twenty two, and consists of severe chronic conditions that are due to mental and or physical

The three major deficits are sensory, fine motor, and gross motor deficits. An extreme reaction to
sensory stimulation is sensory deficit and there are two subtypes: hypersensitive, which is excessively
sensitive, and hyposensitive, which is less than normal sensitivity. Another sensory deficit may be
synesthesia, which is the confusion of sensations from one another. Developmental delays in fine and
motor skills are usually common. An example of fine motor skills would be coloring, lacing their
shoes, eating, cutting with scissors, writing or using a computer keyboard. Reasons why motor skills
can be a problematic at times for people with autism, because they incline to self stimulate or perform
repetitive movements when stress and do not finish the task at hand. Walking would be an example of
gross motor skills. Sadly walking can be challenging for an autistic child or adult, causing them to

Double Consciousness In Toni Morrison s Beloved
W.E.B. DuBois defines double consciousness as not only looking at one s self through their own eyes
but also through the eyes of others. This is an interesting way of looking at life because it applies to all
cases. While one lives life, there will always be that thought of what the other person is thinking about
one s self. This is also the case for Sethe in the novel Beloved written by Toni Morrison because Sethe
s action can be interpreted in many ways depending on the perspective. Sethe killed Beloved so
Beloved didn t have to endure slavery, worries and takes close care of Denver, and goes to work on a
plantation as the wife of Halle. With that being said, for each of that description there is a different

The Chimney Sweeper By William Blake
The end of the eighteenth century was a dangerous time to be a child living in England; common folk
everywhere were struggling to get by. Parents could not afford to feed and care for their children, so
mothers and fathers had no choice but to sell their sons and daughters. Unfortunately, the career that
children were forced into was chimney sweeping, which had a terrifyingly high mortality rate. The
poem, The Chimney Sweeper , written by William Blake, tells the heartbreaking story of a child who
is sold into chimney sweeping at a young age and leads a devastating life. After reading Blake s poem
about the sweepers, one may begin to wonder how it was possible for children to be treated so poorly,
and how the king of that time could allow conditions for his people to get so bad. Thomas Paine
shared his opinion on the caste system in his work Rights of Man. Paine explains that there are plenty
of people that have lived undesirable lives for the king who are not acknowledged in politics, like the
common folk who have been let down by the flawed caste system, including the chimney sweepers
and other laborers. Because of the immense inequality taking place during this time, simply through
birthrights, it becomes an important topic to focus in on. The works of Blake and Paine together give
the audiences a new point of view on England s political system at the end of the eighteenth century.
These works protest the push away from the establishment and a push towards representing

South Dakota Landscape
Carrie Breitbach s (2009) The Geographies of a More Just Food System: Building Landscapes for
Social Reproduction revolves around the idea of bringing justice to the food system by rectifying
landscape and social reproduction as a solution in South Dakota. In contrast, Peirce F. Lewis s Axioms
for Reading the Landscape, focuses on how to read and understand landscapes through a set of rules
which he calls axioms. In the Geographic (or Ecological) Axiom, Lewis argues that studying a
landscape outside its location makes no sense in gaining cultural insight on the landscape (1979, 24).
While Don Mitchell (2007, 43) in New Axioms for the Landscape, presents the idea that the shape of

Dakota. The USDA in 2007 reported that during 2006 2007, South Dakota sought a 16 percent
increase in acres of corn planted for the production of ethanol (quoted in Bouchard 2007, 59).
Consequently, an increase in corn production could predict a scenario where wetlands begin to be used
for agricultural purposes. The purpose of the wetlands has changed which will have a positive and
negative effect on the economy and the environment. Environmentally, ecosystems are destroyed,

Obama K-12 Education Act Analysis
On Tuesday president Obama signed the new K 12 education law effectively ending all heavy

he does not just want to do this because it is going to be good for the students, community, and the

``There is nothing more essential to living up to the ideals of this notion than to make sure every child
is able to live up to their god given potential`` Obama said this during the signing ceremony at the

Portrayal Of Female Heroines From Disney s Cartoon Heroines
Not many companies can influence the childhood development of many Americans like the Walt
Disney Company. Disney, named after their founder, began as just an animation studio called The
Walt Disney Studios, which the company describes as the foundation on which The Walt Disney
Company was built . Today, Disney produces various items targeted at children like toys, clothing, and
animation ( Company ). In the paper, Images of Animated Others: The Orientalization of Disney s
Cartoon Heroines From The Little Mermaid To The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Celeste Lacroix of the
College of Charleston assesses the portrayal of female heroines from Disney animated films that
depicts human main characters, examining the sexualization of non European or the exotic others, and
brings to light Disney s strategy to instill an attitude of consumerism in children. Despite my
memorable sentiment with Disney animations as a child, I agree with Lacroix s assertion that Disney
impose consumerism onto children, especially with DVD commercials, tie in products and apps on
smartphones and tablets.
Starting off her paper, Lacroix begins with an anecdote of her visit to a theater s premier of The Lion
King. Within her anecdote, Lacroix remarks that a toddler...began shouting with glee for the character
Timon from The Lion King, which Lacroix found concerning as the toddler was all too aware even
before the movie started playing (213 214). Lacroix directs attention to the repeated exposure of

The Generation Of The Workforce
There are five generations in the workforce, each unique and with similar characteristics as the others
(Noe, 2017):
Traditionalists/ Silent Generation, born 1925 to1945
Baby Boomers, born in 1946 to 1964
Generation X 1965 to 1980
Generation Y/Millennials/Echo Boomers, born in 1981 to 1995
Generation Z/Digital Natives, born in 1996 and on
For many years, many organizations focused on aging workforce issues; however, the shift is moved
to trying to manage a multigenerational workforce (Cekada, 2012). Many Baby Boomers are still
working with Obama Care, they are working to pay for Affordable Health Care costs and
prescriptions. With the Baby Boomers about to leave the workforce, there are steps that an
organization must take to keep the baton of knowledge from leaving with them. First is to assess the
training needs; second, set up a budget to meet the needs; third, choose between Traditional or
Technology based method to deliver the required training.
First, an organization must assess their training needs to set up a training program that s effective and
foundational. A training needs assessment is used to determine whether training is the right solution to
a workplace problem (Cekada, 2010, p. 28). Data must be gathered continually to determine what
training needs must be met and develop a plan to accomplish the organization s objectives because
training program is a costly expense for employers. Training needs assessment (TNA) provides

Postpartum Depression ( Ppd )
Grase Garlobo Professor N. Hammond ENC 1101 23 October 2015 Postpartum Depression (PPD) The
birth of a baby can trigger powerful emotions such as joy, excitement, maybe some fear and anxiety.
But it can also trigger something you did not expect depression. The depression is called postpartum
depression, or also known as postnatal depression, it s a type of depression that can affect both the
mother and the father. This is most likely to happen after giving birth or up to a year later. But it
usually occurs within the first three months after delivery. Postpartum depression doesn t actually have

All of this may play an important role in postpartum depression. If left untreated, postpartum
depression can interfere with parents child attachment and cause family problems later on in life. For
mothers, untreated postpartum depression can last for months or up to years, sometimes becoming a
chronic depressive disorder. Even when treated, postpartum depression increases a woman s risk of
future episodes of major depression. For fathers, postpartum depression can have a ripple effect,
causing emotional damage for everyone close to a new baby. According to the Mayo Clinic Staff,
When a new mother is depressed, the risk of depression in the baby s father may also increase . New
dads are already at a highly risk of depression, whether or not the mother is affected. Children of
parents who have untreated postpartum depression are most likely to have emotional and behavior
problems, such as sleeping and eating disorders, excessive crying, and attention deficit/hyperactivity
disorder (ADHD). And will also delay in language development. Treatment and recovery time vary on
the mother or father and depending on the seriousness of the depression. Postpartum depression is
usually treated with psychotherapy or mostly known as talking therapy, medication, or sometimes it
can be both at the same time. Psychotherapy, may help for the parent(s) talk through their troubles

Human Justice In 12 Angry Men
12 Angry Men is is about 12 selected people who have to run a juror sentence for a man who has been
convicted about killing his father. It starts off in the courtroom where the 12 members hear the mans
statement. After this is done, they all make their way into the room where they discuss. What makes
this story so interesting, is the fact that all 12 people are complete opposites off each other. This also
ties in the conflict of the story, is that no one can all agree on the same claim. Fights break out and
people get angry at each other. In the story 12 Angry men, it shows people can always second chance
their first opinion. By having a little argument over something or discussing something, it can
influence props decisions. For example, this happened when a certain juror kept changing his vote
constantly, after hearing everyone s claim. 12 Angry Men shows that human nature and personal
experience can influence the effect on justice. To start it off, we have juror number 2. Juror number 2
is a very hesitant man who doesn t have an opinion on his own. He is very quiet and doesn t have
much to say. During the story he constantly kept changing his mind whenever the last person spoke.
Well, sure, I ve heard of it. I know what it is. I . . . what I meant . . . well, anyway, I think he was

Louisiana Coastal Land Essay
The loss of Louisiana coastal land is one of the most, major factors in our environment today.
Louisiana has already lost 1,880 square miles of land in the past eight decades. This problem is
effecting the state funding to help solve the problem before the state lose more coastal land. In order to
stop this situation, the state needs to have a stronger structural protection for the coastline (Wilson,

The natural processes of coastal land formation are based on the sedimentary load delivered by the
Mississippi River. Natural disturbances that contribute to coastal land loss are form hurricanes eroding
marshes and putting excessive saltwater into the system. Another disturbance is from humans, which
has a massive impact on the balance of wetland growth and decline. (Wilson, 2013). Over half of the
wetlands have been lost since the colonization of America. The main forms of human disturbance are
the river control structures such as dams and levees, the dredging of canals, and draining and filling.

How Modern Myths Affect Society
Modern Myths For the past 6 weeks we have learned about modern myths and how they affect society
in our everyday lives. In this paper you will see the topics that we focused on and what we learned of
how these challenges impose on our societies. The first myth that we all know is society s definition of
image. Every day millions of people in society look in the mirror and hate what they see. Many starve
themselves get plastic surgery cake on layer of makeup just too try to accept themselves. The reason
we do this is because of the picture that that media and society shows us. We think that if we don t
look like the people in the magazine s with everything perfect then we are not good enough and feel
like we need to change ourselves to be accepted. People spend thousands of dollars on makeup
different clothes and other thing to try and make us be more like the picture perfect person and it is
wrong. Body dysmorphia is a condition when a person who will never accept their body for what it is.
More than 200,000 cases of it are found in society every year. It is most common in ages between 14
41. People with this condition will take huge steps to change because they will never accept their body

Dissolution of marriage including child support and custody issues
Facts
Forest and Olive Green have decided to obtain a dissolution of marriage, after twenty years of
marriage. She and Mr. Green have already had several arguments concerning child support
arrangements for their children Kelly Green, age 14, and Moss Green, age 10. Mrs. Green thinks that
it would be best for the children if she and Mr. Green had joint custody of the children. Along with
this, Mrs. Green wants to be able to receive child support from Mr. Green because due to her lack of

Since Mr. and Mrs. Green intend on having joint custody of the children, it looks as if all aspects of
rearing the children, including expenses as well as decision making would be shared among the
parents. Although it is shared , that does not signify that it will be equally shared. The court will
determine, based on the formula contained in the Kentucky Child Support Guidelines, what each
parent pays. Furthermore, since Mrs. Green is without income as a homemaker, it seems as though
some sort of child support payment should be paid in regards to the children while they are residing in
her home. Also, if Mr. Green takes a job, earning less income due to health problems, this may affect
the amount of child support he would be obligated to pay, but it shouldn t keep him from being
required to pay some sort of child support. This job change can cause the court to deviate from the
guidelines. However, the court may look at Mrs. Green s unemployment as being voluntary. Thus, the
court may not use that issue in determining the child support Mr. Green should be obligated to pay.
The court will probably not order Mrs. Green to obtain employment, but in looking at the facts, there
is no valid reason as to her unemployment, and it may be in the

Modern Times, Plagiarize Crimes In 2006 Bob Dylan, a famous singer songwriter created an album
called Modern Times. This album grew instant success becoming number one on the Billboard charts.
Soon after its release, audiences found some things that were unsettling, which led to the start of
allegations. Very similar comparisons were found between Dylan s album and Henry Timrod s poems
like phrases that were copied verbatim. With these accusations Dylan and many others came to his
defense, stating that this is merely just folk process but with no credit to the source, this simply is not
excusable. His techniques in hiding this theft by changing the context and lack of acknowledgment to
the original author is a sign of complete and utter disrespect. Seeing the supportive evidence and
similarity between Bob Dylan s album and Henry Timrod s poetry, it is evident that this is more than
just a coincidence and is clearly plagiarised. In this particular situation, the debate is not whether or
not Bob Dylan used Timrods work or if Dylan even knows who Timrod is, instead the debate is over
whether Dylan s use of Timrod s poems was plagiarism, folk process or an allusion to Henry. Dylan s
interest in the Civil War mentioned in Chronicles:Vol. I(Rich), was definitely something that gave his
source away. Since Henry Timrod was a poet that wrote about the Civil War, it it easy to see how
Dylan might have stumbled across his work and heavily studied it due to his fascination with it. In
Modern Times it is easy to see the resemblance to Timrod s poetry in most songs like When the Deal
Goes Down , Spirit on the Waters and Workingman s Blue #2 . For example in the poem A Rhapsody
of a Southern Winter Night multiple phrases like A round of precious hours , frailer than the flowers
and wisdom that grows up in strife (qtd Timrod) are taken word for word and were put into Dylan s
song When the Deal Goes Down . The singer decided to change the context of the wording in some
parts but in others they had the exact same meaning. In Henry Timrod s poem he is comparing logic to
flowers whereas Dylan compared the precious hours to the flowers. Chris Dineen, a fan says It seems
kind of duplicitous. Even casual fans know

Letter By Marion Shepardson Summary
Marion Shepardson wrote a letter in 1949 that functions like a time capsule to what Poway looked like
back then. In it she spoke about the trees and little but pleasant breezes until November . (Mary
Shepardson 1.) She wrote about a lot of things but mostly about how how docile life was. The simple
pleasures that Shepardson got from nature is are rare to find now. Poway is no longer a quaint little
farming town, San Diego as a whole is slowly blossoming into a metropolitan area. Now more then
ever it is important to recognize the changes that are coming and prepare for the future. We have two
paths to follow at this crossroad. San Diegians can prepare for the future and protect what Shepardson
once fell in love with or we can ignore the incoming

What Are Agreeable People
According to Robbins and Judge (2013) agreeableness refers to individual s propensity to defer others.
Highly agreeable people are cooperative, warm and trusting and enormously likeable. Top performers
refers to individuals who are highly productive and person who always worked on developing their
work skills and job performance (Harpham, n.d.). Top performers are usually very decisive and
determined in every single task they do, and most of them are aspire to be leaders by working hard
and focusing on their life goals.
In our opinion, employer should choose agreeable employees over top performers because most of
agreeable individuals are easily adapt to new environment and company s workforce policy. These
kind of employees are ready to work in any industries or position even they know they will earn lower
salaries than others and attracted to jobs both in public sector and non profit organizations. ... Show

Agreeableness reflects individual differences in concern with cooperation and social harmony.
Agreeable people are likely to get along with people effortlessly. These people are certainly to help
others at work despite any moods and rewards (Ilies, Scott Judge, 2006). They are extremely
considerate, friendly, generous, helpful, and willing to compromise their interests with others. Thus,
they will create a warm environment in the company and there is no doubt that their colleagues would
feel comfortable than ever.
Agreeable people also have an optimistic view of human nature and always look things in a bright
side. They believe people are basically honest, decent, and trustworthy (Lall Sharma, 2009). They tend
to be kinder, and to do better in interpersonally oriented jobs such as customer service as they can

Rule Changes In Major League Baseball
Major League Baseball is an organization steeped in tradition and custom. Nothing short of an
Executive Order is necessary to alter the rules that govern the sport. While that may be a slight
exaggeration, the foundation of the game has remained largely unchanged on the professional level for
decades. That said, a recent change in the rules has stirred a bit of controversy among managers,
players and fans.
As is often the case with rule alterations, the change seemed to stem from a play in Game 2 of the
National League Division Series between the Los Angeles Dodgers and New York Mets last season.
Dodgers second baseman Chase Utley aggressively slid into second base in an attempt to break up a
double play. In doing so, Utley slid to the outfield side of second base and collided with Mets
shortstop Ruben Tejada. The collision ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Purists argue that a hard slide is simply part of the game, while more progressive baseball minds point
to player safety. A similar rule change occurred in 2014 after San Francisco Giants catcher Buster
Posey was lost for the 2011 season following a collision at home plate with Scott Cousins, formerly of
the Florida Marlins. The rule served to protect catchers from the often violent home plate collisions.
The Posey play, much like the one involving Tejada, was well within the rules at the time it occurred.
The new Chase Utley rule was put to the test on two separate occasions early in this 2016 season. On
April 5, in the ninth inning of a game against the Tampa Bay Rays, Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Jose
Bautista was called out while trying to break up a double play. On the play, Bautista was initially ruled
safe. However, after replay review, the call was changed to a game ending double play. Similarly, a
game between the Houston Astros and Milwaukee Brewers on April 8 ended when Astros outfielder
Colby Rasmus was called for interference while attempting to break up a double

Porter s Five Forces In Automobile Industry
3.2 External Environment Analysis Industry Analysis (Porter s Five Forces Analysis)
Porter s Five Forces Framework Model analyses the competitive forces within the environment in
which a company operates, to assess the potential for profitability in an industry. Porter consists of
threat of new entrants, threat of substitute, buyer power, supplier power, and rivalry among existing
competitors. The change in any forces normally requires firms to observe the market and make the
decision in overall change of industry information. Firms are able to apply their core competencies,
business model or network to achieve a profit above the industry average.
Threat of New Entrants
Profitable industries that yield high returns will attract new firms. New competitors may force existing
firms to be more efficient and to learn how to compete on new dimensions. Threat of new entrants is
high when it is easy for new competitors to enter a market ad low when there are significant entry
barriers to entering a market. These entry barriers make it difficult for new firms to enter an industry
and often place them at a competitive disadvantage even when they are able to enter. The domestic

Ideal Moral Code Analysis
John Arthur and Peter Singer have different views when it comes to Famine Relief and the Ideal Moral
Code . Both theories are intuitive; yet clash heads at the idea of an opinion other than their own. They
essentially both argue for what is our true duty. Peter Singer defends that we ought to prevent evil
whenever we can do so without sacrificing something of comparable moral significance (Famine
Relief and the Ideal Moral Code pg. 813) . He believes that we should donate at least half of our
earnings to people in absolute poverty, which in this case means poverty by any standard. He also says
we should help out people in other countries before we help out our own neighbor. The fact that a

human beings are actually like. By showing a moral code like this is would not reject entitlements in

Ester And The Fischer Esterification Of Esters
Esters are a specific type of functional group that can be derived from carboxylic acids. The COOH
group found within a carboxylic acid is changed to form an ester, specifically the hydrogen molecule,
which is replaced by a hydrocarbon. Esters are present in many common things like animal and
vegetable fats and oils. Made up of long, complex esters, the physical differences between fats and
oils are in fact due to the different melting points of esters contained in each. For example, if the
melting point of a substance is said to be below room temperature, the product will be a liquid and
thus be classified as an oil. In contrast, if the melting point is said to be above room temperature, the
product will be a solid and thus be classified as a fat. Esters can also be found in many perfumes or
fragrances since they have a pleasant or fruity aroma. This unique smell is highly dependent on the
structure of the molecule, meaning that even the slightest change can alter its scent. This is very
important when considering how esters are formed. As stated previously, esters are derived from
carboxylic acids, and thus need to be obtained through special reactions, like the Fischer Esterification
reaction. Fischer esterification is the process of creating an ester from a carboxylic acid by heating it
with an alcohol, while in the presence of a strong acid being used as the catalyst. This reaction needs
to be monitored very closely to make sure the ester is formed correctly in order

Mrs Dalloway Conformity
The 1920s exist in the popular imagination as a time of freedom and wild energy, a time where social
mores were discarded and independance embraced. This perception hardly fits with the reality. As
with most eras the 1920s had a multitude of conventions and taboos. As with most eras, those who
broke with such things were frowned upon. While parts of society were changing, conformity was still
very much valued, as explored in Virginia Woolf s Mrs. Dalloway. Through the character of Clarissa
Dalloway and her parallel found in Septimus Smith, Woolf portrays oppressive conformity and the
inner self it hides, especially as related to queerness and compulsory heterosexuality; all this serves to
illuminate the themes of conventionality and conversion ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The compulsory heterosexuality is a large aspect of this theme, but is ultimately only a facet.
Conformity and conversion are the basis for the novel s main theme. Any character different in their
youth notably Sally Seton becomes at least outwardly conventional by the time of the events of the
book. Clarissa Dalloway has become no longer herself but an extension of her husband, she feels she
is not even Clarissa anymore, this being Mrs. Richard Dalloway (14). Septimus sees the doctors as the
force which pressures conformity, but they are merely a representation of society, which Septimus
realizes when he equates Dr. Holmes to human nature. Human nature is in Sir William, too; while
Holmes simply ignores any deviation and claims it doesn t exist, Sir William recognizes the
differences but seeks to correct them through proportion. Though it sounds a reasonable method, in
effect it is more brutal, since Proportion has a sister, less smiling, more formidable...Conversion is her
name and she feasts on the wills of the weakly (151), which Septimus recognizes. In this sense the
contrast between Septimus and Clarissa reflects the concept that if a person does not make themselves
fit in, society will do it for

Considering that the United States has an extremely high number of firearms per capita and very
flimsy gun laws, these statistics cannot be said to exist without reason (Sanders). Even worse is that
the problem has only exacerbated in current years, continuing a trend that has insidiously been
creeping up on the United States. As indicated in Figure 1, an analysis from the Harvard School of
Public Health and Northeastern University showed that the average time between a shooting from
2011 2014 was approximately two hundred days. Similarly, the average between 2011 and 2014 was
just a measly sixty four days (Chalabi). Even more surprising is that amongst all the raucous, the
general sentiment towards guns in the U.S. has become largely pro ownership. Google Trends, which

While it is true that Romanelli told Schor not to open the account, Romanelli s actions would imply
that Schor did have authority to act on Romanelli s behalf. Romanelli gave Schor authority to conduct
business for him when he hired Schor as his accountant and financial adviser (Melvin Katz, 2015,
p.321). Schor was also given a corporate resolution that gives someone the authority to act on behalf
of the corporation (Investopedia, 2015). It is unknown what the corporate resolution was for, but since
Romanelli had given it to Schor along with other documents pertaining to the opening of a bank
account, it is safe to assume that it had to do with giving Schor authority to open the account on
Romanelli s behalf. Even though Schor was told not to open the account, he can claim that he had
been given authority at one time to open it. Although Romanelli did not win his case against Citibank,
he does have a couple of remedies against Schor. These include the ability to seek damages from
Schor for the amount that Schor had embezzled. Romanelli could also fire Schor for breach of duty.

In the end, the pricing is the key factor to being successful. I will need to come up with a competitive

Analysis: The analysis section will require me to evaluate each of the strategic options that we might

segment, as shown below in the appendices as figure 1 1. Single serve energy beverage drink retail
prices have generally settled at roughly $2.00 per single serve package, regardless of size. As a
consequence, larger single serve packages are priced lower on a per ounce basis than smaller
packages. Shown in figure 1 2, it shows that our drink Rush NRG will need to come down a little bit
in prices to be competitive and make margins meet. The 16 ounce size, representing about 50 percent
of case sales in convenience stores, has posted the fastest growth. Multi packs represent a small
portion of case sales and typically are marketed through supermarkets and mass merchandisers. When
coming to choose what version you want to make, it is obvious that regular energy beverages have an
80 percent share of the market; sugar free has 20 percent. Deciding what type of distribution to use

To Serve God And Wal-Mart Analysis
In Bethany Moreton s book To Serve God and Wal Mart: The Making of Christian Free Enterprise,
dutiful employees of Wal Mart praise the comfortable, familial, and friendly atmosphere at work.
These attitudes are no accidental, however: Moreton asserts that Wal Mart utilized gendered notions in
order to structure a new sexual hierarchy onto the workplace. Wal Mart s successful exploitation of
business techniques such as altering the perception of women s work in the home versus at work,
reinforcing masculinities through normalized displays and gendered spectacles, and asking for

Indeed, service labor was often viewed as women s work , which directly challenged the authority and
the masculinity of men. With women flooding the service sector, the meekness of Jesus and
Christianity did not fit in with ideals of masculinity, independence, and power and thus posed an
ethical problem. In order to subvert this, a new trend of servant leadership began, with men acting as
transitory and moving managers, and women acting as long term low wage workers. Instead of
focusing upon the managers labor, the focus was placed squarely upon the natural prerogatives of men
as men, not as managers , reinforcing a hegemonic and sexual chain of command promoting the
masculinity, autonomy, and skill of men. Subsequently, these men became symbolic heads of house,
effectively owning the labor of their employees. In this way, the man could remain the master of his
small world , effectively translating his dominion of influence from the household to the aisles of Wal
Mart. Furthermore, Moreton states that prominent philosophy must explain how the authority of men
has increased with service sector work in order to contain the threat posed by the effeminate , the
androgynous , and sissified men. For instance, a female clerk might impend the masculinity of men,
conversely, a female clerk working deferentially

Reflection Paper On Substance Abuse
On October 3rd, I attended a meeting that completely opened my eyes on the issue of substance abuse.
The meeting I attended was an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting. When thinking about what sort of
recovery event I wanted to experience for this experimental activity the first thing that came to mind
was Alcoholics Anonymous. I have heard of AA but never had an expanded understanding of the
program. The first thing I did was google Alcoholics Anonymous University of Iowa and the rest was
a breeze. The first link that appeared was a University of Iowa Hospitals Clinics page that listed open
AA meetings. So as stated earlier, on Tuesday, October 3rd from 12 pm to 1 pm in Room 5024 Boyd
Tower, I gained a whole new outlook on substance abuse. As soon as I walked into the meeting I was a
slightly intimidated at first. The room was small, about the size of a classroom, and had a conference
table full of people of all ages and different genders. Since I was just observing I decided to sit at a
separate table and take notes on the activities that went on during the meeting. There were about 10
participants taking part in the meeting from ages that ranged from 30 s to 70 s. There was plenty of
diversity in the group of individuals based on personalities also, but not much diversity in ethnicities
as all of the members of this meeting were white. Once the meeting went underway, I knew I was in
for something very interesting. The meeting began with a moment of silence and preamble.

society in America. Any time there is an opening in a shopping plaza a gambling place opens up. To
me that shouldn t be the case, because then it can have a lot of people come in and, a lot of times lose
money. It s a good idea and a great way to generate revenue for the company itself, but bad for people
who have a bad habit of gambling. Violence is getting worse as well. Today the world is turning into a

Is marketing sex, violence, and gambling acceptable in other countries if these things do not conflict
with local cultures?
A: Unfortanently yes it is. For example look at the continent of Europe. The have a red light district
system where it is legal to advertise sex in windows. There are streets alone that are dedicated to
prostitutes legally if you are age. I don t think gambling and violence is acceptable. Because they re
more strict and secure on that category. But I rather find it odd that there strict on those things but not
nudity. I mean I have a feeling it

Tokyo A Dystopian
The film portrays Tokyo after the destruction caused by World War III. Tokyo has now turned into neo
Tokyo, a dystopian society built from the ruins. In just thirty years the government has managed to
help build the economy up, allowing the city to prosper. With all of this progress and prosperity, the
people have become self centered, making a social and economic gap. The gap has grown so
significant that the wealthy cling to what money they have and those on the bottom suffer with
nothing. There does not seem to be much help from city officials, as well. They only focus on their
own advancement, which causes problems for the citizens. Riots occur in the streets and gangs are
becoming more violent resulting in terrorizing the good citizens. ... Show more content on

It suddenly starts to turn into a hellish nightmare. The colonel walks towards Kiyoko, she tells him
about a dream she had about Akira. She warns them that he will return and destroy the city. Later on
the colonel has a meeting with the head council about funding for the Akira project. He gets frustrated
when they refuse to add further funds to the cause. He storms out in anger and distress about the
future. Back in the hospital Tetsuo s physic powers are starting to get more powerful. He tries to fall
back asleep but cannot, he sees hallucinations of a bunny, car and bear. They manifest into bigger
versions of themselves and start attacking Tetsuo. They only stop when they see Tetsuo s foot bleed. It
turns out they were the three greenish children. Tetsuo becomes enraged at the fact someone would try
to kill, he goes off and wreaks havoc. The resistance has infiltrated the compound through the sewers
to gain access to find Tetsuo, suddenly a patrolling guard spots them and a fight breaks out. In an epic
struggle they manage to get onto the speeder and search for Tetsuo. Back at the hospital Tetsuo s
power is growing more the more he uses it. He then encounters Kaneda who is trying to help him but
Tetsuo s power has gotten the best of him and he rejects his help. Tetsuo then flies off to find where
Akira is. He ends up going to the Olympic Stadium where underneath Akira is

Life and Business in the Galapagos Islands
Business in the Galapagos Islands takes place mainly during lunch hour, as many people are out at
midday eating. Restaurants may even be closed at night in rural areas. This is because some serve
local food or cater for tourists in larger cities. In more recent decades, fast food restaurants common in
America have been drifting over to Ecuador, such as McDonalds. There is also a Chinese community
that originated back in the 19th century here. This familiarizes the locals with dishes like fried rich
with chicken, which goes by the name chaulafan de pollo. When touring, one may find a variety of
fritters and fried dough s like buhuelos, and other pastries, as street foods are a popular choice.
Ecuadorians in the higher valleys of the Andes reply on potatoes as staples in their diets. To spices
these potatoes, and other dishes, they use a very hot Andean chili. A sauce seasoned with aji, also
containing milk or water is also very common. Varieties on banana are numerous in this country. This
allows bananas to be used in many recipes. Other common ingredients include peanuts, peppers, and
almonds. A lot of raw fish is also eaten, as well as tamales, soups, and filled pies When touring the
islands, one might notice that the food is as unique and varied as the people inhabiting the lands. The
culinary traditions are influenced by both the Inea and Spanish conquers of the territory. As the
landscapes change, the dishes also change. Many popular lunches include; Ceviche, which is

Plagiarism Essay
Plagiarism. We do it everyday. But most people don t even know that they do it. Plagiarism is the act
of taking the work or a idea of someone else, and passing it off as your own (Webster). Now, there are
two main types of plagiarism: intentional and unintentional. Intentional plagiarism is when someone
copies words, ideas, or phrases and purposefully pass it off as their own, all without giving credit to
the correct source. On the other hand, unintentional plagiarism is when someone cites poorly, or if
they didn t know that someone else had an idea, and they pass it off as their own, thinking they were
the first to come up with it. The issue with plagiarism and the United States, is whether or not America
plagiarized democracy. To know ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Each state will have a certain number of representatives, and also pay direct taxes, on the basis of
population size (US Constitution 1 2). This excerpt from the US Constitution talks a lot about power
being divided in the government, by having three different branches, judicial, executive, and
legislative. The judiciary is the Supreme Court, which is addressed about later in the US Constitution,
the executive is the president, and the legislative is the Senate and the House of Representatives. They
also talk about power being divided in the Declaration of Independence. In the Declaration of
Independence it states Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the
consent of the governed...He has obstructed the Administration of Justice...He has dissolved
Representative Houses repeatedly, for opposing with manly firmness his invasions on the rights of the
people (Declaration of Independence). It doesn t directly state it, because the Declaration of
Independence talks about how the king of England is unfair, and how he rules poorly. When they state
what the king is doing wrong, the reader can infer that the US will do the opposite. So, when they say
that the king is dissolving the Representative Houses, the reader can assume that the US will not
dissolve the Representative Houses repeatedly like the king previously did. However, famous foreign
documents talked about power being divided way before the US did. For

  • 2. Gender Equality In Iron Jawed Angels Tuesday, November 8 2016 was the first time I was old enough to vote for the presidential election. After watching Iron Jawed Angels, I realized how much I have taken for granted in my life and how incredibly grateful I am for all of the women that have fought for women equality including; Alice Paul and Lucy Burns. There are still on going debates in todays society about gender equality, but it s crazy to see how 100 plus years ago some of the rights women have now, going to school and voting, didn t exist. In 1912, Alice Paul and Lucy Burns fought together among other women for the right to vote. They fought for not only white women, but women of all races. Throughout Iron Jawed Angels the women fought hard, even during the time of war and while they were in jail, for their rights and equality. It wasn t until August 26, 1920 that women could vote. Before that women could not attend college or pursue training for most professions (Woods, 57). During the movie, Alice Paul was creating a friendship with a male who taught her how to drive which is interesting because in todays society almost every women knows how to drive or has the privilege to drive but back then only men drove or could even afford a car because they had the right to work. In the movie Iron Jawed Angels, Senetor Leighton and his family are described as a stereotypical family during their time period. He provides for his wife and two kids while, his wife stays at home and doesn t work. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. Double Consciousness In Toni Morrison s Beloved W.E.B. DuBois defines double consciousness as not only looking at one s self through their own eyes but also through the eyes of others. This is an interesting way of looking at life because it applies to all cases. While one lives life, there will always be that thought of what the other person is thinking about one s self. This is also the case for Sethe in the novel Beloved written by Toni Morrison because Sethe s action can be interpreted in many ways depending on the perspective. Sethe killed Beloved so Beloved didn t have to endure slavery, worries and takes close care of Denver, and goes to work on a plantation as the wife of Halle. With that being said, for each of that description there is a different description from someone else s eyes; to everyone else who read the news like Stamp Paid and Paul D, Sethe was wrong for killing Beloved she acted like an animal, and with that while she was seen as a wife, she was also seen as an animal, by school teacher taking notes of her actions ... • 7. The Chimney Sweeper By William Blake The end of the eighteenth century was a dangerous time to be a child living in England; common folk everywhere were struggling to get by. Parents could not afford to feed and care for their children, so mothers and fathers had no choice but to sell their sons and daughters. Unfortunately, the career that children were forced into was chimney sweeping, which had a terrifyingly high mortality rate. The poem, The Chimney Sweeper , written by William Blake, tells the heartbreaking story of a child who is sold into chimney sweeping at a young age and leads a devastating life. After reading Blake s poem about the sweepers, one may begin to wonder how it was possible for children to be treated so poorly, and how the king of that time could allow conditions for his people to get so bad. Thomas Paine shared his opinion on the caste system in his work Rights of Man. Paine explains that there are plenty of people that have lived undesirable lives for the king who are not acknowledged in politics, like the common folk who have been let down by the flawed caste system, including the chimney sweepers and other laborers. Because of the immense inequality taking place during this time, simply through birthrights, it becomes an important topic to focus in on. The works of Blake and Paine together give the audiences a new point of view on England s political system at the end of the eighteenth century. This album grew instant success becoming number one on the Billboard charts. Soon after its release, audiences found some things that were unsettling, which led to the start of allegations. Very similar comparisons were found between Dylan s album and Henry Timrod s poems like phrases that were copied verbatim. With these accusations Dylan and many others came to his defense, stating that this is merely just folk process but with no credit to the source, this simply is not excusable. His techniques in hiding this theft by changing the context and lack of acknowledgment to the original author is a sign of complete and utter disrespect. Seeing the supportive evidence and similarity between Bob Dylan s album and Henry Timrod s poetry, it is evident that this is more than just a coincidence and is clearly plagiarised. In this particular situation, the debate is not whether or not Bob Dylan used Timrods work or if Dylan even knows who Timrod is, instead the debate is over whether Dylan s use of Timrod s poems was plagiarism, folk process or an allusion to Henry. Dylan s interest in the Civil War mentioned in Chronicles:Vol. I(Rich), was definitely something that gave his source away. Since Henry Timrod was a poet that wrote about the Civil War, it it easy to see how Dylan might have stumbled across his work and heavily studied it due to his fascination with it. In Modern Times it is easy to see the resemblance to Timrod s poetry in most songs like When the Deal Goes Down , Spirit on the Waters and Workingman s Blue #2 . For example in the poem A Rhapsody of a Southern Winter Night multiple phrases like A round of precious hours , frailer than the flowers and wisdom that grows up in strife (qtd Timrod) are taken word for word and were put into Dylan s song When the Deal Goes Down . The singer decided to change the context of the wording in some parts but in others they had the exact same meaning. The simple pleasures that Shepardson got from nature is are rare to find now. Poway is no longer a quaint little farming town, San Diego as a whole is slowly blossoming into a metropolitan area. Nothing short of an Executive Order is necessary to alter the rules that govern the sport. While that may be a slight exaggeration, the foundation of the game has remained largely unchanged on the professional level for decades. That said, a recent change in the rules has stirred a bit of controversy among managers, players and fans. As is often the case with rule alterations, the change seemed to stem from a play in Game 2 of the National League Division Series between the Los Angeles Dodgers and New York Mets last season. Dodgers second baseman Chase Utley aggressively slid into second base in an attempt to break up a double play. In doing so, Utley slid to the outfield side of second base and collided with Mets shortstop Ruben Tejada. The collision ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Purists argue that a hard slide is simply part of the game, while more progressive baseball minds point to player safety. A similar rule change occurred in 2014 after San Francisco Giants catcher Buster Posey was lost for the 2011 season following a collision at home plate with Scott Cousins, formerly of the Florida Marlins. The rule served to protect catchers from the often violent home plate collisions. The Posey play, much like the one involving Tejada, was well within the rules at the time it occurred. The new Chase Utley rule was put to the test on two separate occasions early in this 2016 season. On April 5, in the ninth inning of a game against the Tampa Bay Rays, Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Jose Bautista was called out while trying to break up a double play. On the play, Bautista was initially ruled safe. However, after replay review, the call was changed to a game ending double play. • 32. Ester And The Fischer Esterification Of Esters Esters are a specific type of functional group that can be derived from carboxylic acids. The COOH group found within a carboxylic acid is changed to form an ester, specifically the hydrogen molecule, which is replaced by a hydrocarbon. Esters are present in many common things like animal and vegetable fats and oils. Made up of long, complex esters, the physical differences between fats and oils are in fact due to the different melting points of esters contained in each. For example, if the melting point of a substance is said to be below room temperature, the product will be a liquid and thus be classified as an oil. In contrast, if the melting point is said to be above room temperature, the product will be a solid and thus be classified as a fat. Esters can also be found in many perfumes or fragrances since they have a pleasant or fruity aroma. This unique smell is highly dependent on the structure of the molecule, meaning that even the slightest change can alter its scent. This is very important when considering how esters are formed. As stated previously, esters are derived from carboxylic acids, and thus need to be obtained through special reactions, like the Fischer Esterification reaction. Fischer esterification is the process of creating an ester from a carboxylic acid by heating it with an alcohol, while in the presence of a strong acid being used as the catalyst. This reaction needs to be monitored very closely to make sure the ester is formed correctly in order ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This perception hardly fits with the reality. As with most eras the 1920s had a multitude of conventions and taboos. As with most eras, those who broke with such things were frowned upon. While parts of society were changing, conformity was still very much valued, as explored in Virginia Woolf s Mrs. Dalloway. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The compulsory heterosexuality is a large aspect of this theme, but is ultimately only a facet. Conformity and conversion are the basis for the novel s main theme. Any character different in their youth notably Sally Seton becomes at least outwardly conventional by the time of the events of the book. Clarissa Dalloway has become no longer herself but an extension of her husband, she feels she is not even Clarissa anymore, this being Mrs. Richard Dalloway (14). Septimus sees the doctors as the force which pressures conformity, but they are merely a representation of society, which Septimus realizes when he equates Dr. Holmes to human nature. Human nature is in Sir William, too; while Holmes simply ignores any deviation and claims it doesn t exist, Sir William recognizes the differences but seeks to correct them through proportion. Though it sounds a reasonable method, in effect it is more brutal, since Proportion has a sister, less smiling, more formidable...Conversion is her name and she feasts on the wills of the weakly (151), which Septimus recognizes. Wal Mart s successful exploitation of business techniques such as altering the perception of women s work in the home versus at work, reinforcing masculinities through normalized displays and gendered spectacles, and asking for personal sacrifice from workers for the good of the family (and thus the business) along gender lines all compounded to adjust and confirm notions of gender, race, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Indeed, service labor was often viewed as women s work , which directly challenged the authority and the masculinity of men. With women flooding the service sector, the meekness of Jesus and Christianity did not fit in with ideals of masculinity, independence, and power and thus posed an ethical problem. In order to subvert this, a new trend of servant leadership began, with men acting as transitory and moving managers, and women acting as long term low wage workers. Instead of focusing upon the managers labor, the focus was placed squarely upon the natural prerogatives of men as men, not as managers , reinforcing a hegemonic and sexual chain of command promoting the masculinity, autonomy, and skill of men. Subsequently, these men became symbolic heads of house, effectively owning the labor of their employees. In this way, the man could remain the master of his small world , effectively translating his dominion of influence from the household to the aisles of Wal Mart. Furthermore, Moreton states that prominent philosophy must explain how the authority of men has increased with service sector work in order to contain the threat posed by the effeminate , the androgynous , and sissified men.
