2. A Summary Of Data Analysis
There are numerous ways to represent this data visually and numerically, the first graph I did
was the stem and leaf plot where you can see the frequency much clearer since the original data
numbers are shown as in compare like a histogram where the frequency is easy to see, the original
data points have been lost. For an example the grades, there are 13 values that were in the
seventies, but is hard to determine from the histogram what those values might have been. In the
stem and leaf plot shows the original values way easier, which is perfect to show to younger
students because the horizontal leaves in the stem and leaf plot is the same to the vertical bars in
the histogram, and the leaves have the heights that equal the numbers in the... Show more content on

In the box and whisker, the median is 78, almost 80, and that fifty percent of the students scored
between 67 and 86 points, and seeing the plot is skewed to the left means that there are more
values in the highs rather the lower numbers. The histogram and stem and leaf plot also shows how
students passed the test by seeing the median and mode on the graph.
The assigning of the scores I decided to have five letter grades which were, A, B, C, D, and F.
Letter grade A is 90 100, B is 80 89, C is 70 79, D is 60 69, and F is 59 0. The reason I chose this
grade assignment is because I wanted to know how many students have passed the exam beyond
average or below. The average is a 70 79 and having five categories can show which students
actually know the subject or need to work on it, whether over the average or under the average.
Describing the middle of the data is that the central tendency by using the mean, median, or mode.
The mean gives us the average, the median gives us which is the number in the middle of the set,
while mode show us the most frequently occurring value in a data set. The box and whisker and
histogram, it s better to use the median to describe the middle because since the mean is less than
the median, that s why it s skewed because the high scores influence the direction of the graph. In
this case, the median may be a better option to represent the typical grade on the test.

3. Supreme Court Cases In Schools
Ever since it was ratified the constitution was said to be the supreme law of the land. It has been
the deciding factor for court cases ever since it was written. The constitution also contains certain
rights we are guaranteed. Ever since the constitution was written there has been problems
interpreting what exactly these rights allow us to do. But one question that really hasn t even
really been answered is whether students are allowed to all these rights in a school building. The
Supreme Court has been working with cases that concern student s rights in school for a long time
most profoundly in the 20th century. I m now going to talk about some of the better known cases
and explain them. This first case is the first case that was a big deal across the nation and perhaps

New Jersey vs TLO is another landmark Supreme Court case that deals with certain rights students
can have at the school building. Terry (TLO) was found smoking in the school bathroom. School
officials then searched her clothes and belongings for marijuana and other tobacco products. When
they found marijuana and other illegal drugs the school called the police and she was arrested. She
then went to court and the courts found her guilty of possessing and selling marijuana. She then
appealed her case saying the school violated her 4th amendment right. The 4th amendment
guarantees the right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against
unreasonable searches and seizures. The Supreme Court ruled against TLO and in favor of the
school. The court said students have the right to privacy but that must be balanced with the schools
job to maintain a place where students can come to learn. The bottom line of this Supreme Court
case is that your belongings can be searched in the school building but not arbitrarily or without

4. The Rural Privilege in A White Heron by Sarah Orne Jewett...
The Rural Privilege in A White Heron by Sarah Orne Jewett Sarah Orne Jewett s A White Heron
is a brilliant story of an inquisitive young girl named Sylvia. Jewett s narrative describes Sylvia s
experiences within the mystical and inviting woods of New England. I think a central theme in A
White Heron is the dramatization of the clash between two competing sets of values in late
nineteenth century America: industrial and rural. Sylvia is the main character of the story. We can
follow her through the story to help us see many industrial and rural differences. Inevitably, I
believe that we are encouraged to favor Sylvia s rural environment and values over the industrial
ones. Our first introduction to these competing sets of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another example of the clash between industrial and rural values comes from Sylvia s own
memories and recollections. Sylvia has been on the farm for a year now, but she still thinks
about her industrial existence from a year ago. She wonders if everything is still carrying on in
the same way as when she lived in the town. Sylvia recalls her adolescent adversary: the great red
faced boy. I think the great red faced boy represents the industrial world to some degree because
he frightens Sylvia, and when she thinks of him she wants to escape to the safety of the bushes.
Thus, the rural world and nature are a sanctuary from the industrial world for Sylvia. Perhaps
this escape parallels Sylvia s real escape from the industrial world to the sanctuary of the farm. I
think Jewett supports this by writing The thought of the great red face boy who used to chase
and frighten her made her hurry along the path to escape from the shadows of the trees (133).
Again, it is important to consider the woods as a shelter for Sylvia. I do not think that Sylvia is
afraid of the trees. Rather, I think this passage seems to reinforce the idea that Sylvia is escaping
from the industrial world, in her memories and in her values. Yet, at this point in the narrative, I
still perceive Sylvia as a fearful and timid girl. Mrs. Tilley, Sylvia s grandmother, supports this
perception by saying that Sylvia is Afraid of folks (133). Additionally, this

5. Theme Of The God Of Small Things
The Post colonial experiences have made the relationships of families much more difficult due to
the fragmentation throughout the country. Children and adults lost their home and the struggles
and troublesome difficulties they had in their homeland. The development of the colonizer s land,
made them to become confused with where their loyalties should lie. In Arundhati Roy s novel The
God of Small Things , the Kochamma familyis a family of tragic people. It is their own cultural
traditions that lead them to the tragedy. However, the theme within the novel is of the people
oppressed by the colonisation of India especially by England, and how a society is consumed with
prejudices based on class or caste and color that begin to turn on itself, and... Show more content on

Hybridity occurs as a result of movements of cultural suppression, as when the colonial power
invades to over rule political and economic control, or when settler disposed people and forced
them to assimilate to new social patterns. The impression that Sophie left for herself is loved
from the beginning. The entire family s behavior is peculiar especially in Baby Kochamma s. In
the novel there are different levels of meaning other than the peripheral one. It means that people
are forced into a unique pattern of thinking and practice which is enabled by the public school
education established by the colonial rulers. Roy herself is a representative of such a
phenomenon. The post colonial mind is a fragmented post war ground; a war that s won and lost.
As said by Post colonial writer Edward Said who argued that the West had always dominated the
East for more than 2,000 years. Europe had dominated Asia politically and so completely that even
the Western texts were based on the Eastern subjects and even most Western scholars could not
recognize that it is a fact that the characters in the novel have adopted the Western ways to suit their

behavior in Mr. Scrushy? Perhaps what we need is a scale for measuring the moral development
or character of the officers to whom the financial status and reports of the company are entrusted
(Jennings, 2005, p. 44 45). One measurement that can be used is a look into their personal lives.
An evaluation of the private conduct of the executive can often prove to be insightful and a

and is the father of eight children by three different women. Impact on Stakeholders
Richard Scrushy s management style was one that fostered intimidation and fear amongst his
employees. The weekly Monday morning meetings were often called Monday morning beatings
when the actual budget numbers did not meet the forecasted expectations. Every Monday morning
he grilled his division chiefs on the profits in their areas of responsibility and publicly berated any
subordinate who failed to meet his expectations (Solieri, Felo Hodowanitz, 2008, p. 342).

By the end of this commercial, a box filled with the origami birds spills on the driveway. There
are a lot of birds that fall out, which is just solidifying the fact that this is a popular, heavily
consumed product. The use of origami is also very light hearted, and shows how this type of gum
will bring happiness to people. That being said, Extra presents a higher emotional level than
expected, it is no longer just a chewing gum, but it is now a way to bring families closer together.
The realism of the ad means buyers will have a stronger attachment to this product, since it is
heartfelt and relatable.
Another persuasive technique used, is the choice of colours, and their importance. This
advertisement always uses happy colours , some of the main ones include; light pinks, purples,
blues, whites and yellows. Using such light colours will keep the viewer in a content mindset,
throughout the commercial. Contrary to blacks and greys, which have a more depressing tone to
them, these colours are appealing to the eye and when a customer is satisfied with an

The authors effectively establish baseline hormone levels by ensuring the stress hormones
measured during experiments are not solely due to the procedural stress of acupuncture needles.
Acclamation ensures that the needles and procedure are no longer novel to the rats and the stress
related hormones primarily reflect exposure to the ice/water treatment.
Although Eshkevari et al. engage in clinically worthy research aided by a beneficial acclamation
protocol, major concerns arise regarding the generalizability of the results due to the utilization of
only male rats. The work of Vieira et al. (1) suggests that sexual dimorphism impacts the stress
response and demonstrates that female rats experience enhanced vulnerability to stress evoked
HPA axis changes. Even if the results of the Eshkevari et al. study propose EA at St36 as a
therapeutic option in male rats, sexual dimorphism may negate any therapeutic effects in female
rats and necessitates future research to determine if EA presents therapeutic benefits in both sexes.
Further concerns arise from the authors conclusion that EA benefits are specific to St36
stimulation. Eshkevari et al. cite elevated ACTH and CORT levels in sham EA rats as evidence
that the suppression of the stress hormones is specific to EA at St36. The results section, however,

The history of the United States Navy has always been interesting to me. As a child my
grandfather told me stories about his time in the Navy Reserves as a fighter pilot. He always

United States Navyhas only gotten stronger. Is the US Navy the greatest in the world or was my

(albums) responds to a change in the price for another good (live concert tickets). For example,
between 1998 and 2008, sales of albums were down 45%, but over the same period, concert ticket

Another factor to consider is resources (cash) people who buy less albums have more cash to

Phillis Wheatley was an African American woman who had a long journey of being a slave. The

plays a great role in saving her race from their miserable fate of being enslaved. Phillis Wheatley
was a survivor and a leader. Her strong, determined personality naturally made her a role model
that everyone looked up to especially women of her race. Her specific poem reflects her personal
experience of being taken from Africa to be brought to America and how it affects her life as well

Advertising has come a long way in terms of advancement with the enlightenment of the new
technological age we live in now. In James Twitchell s essay What We Are to Advertisers, the
author explains that mass production means mass marketing, and mass marketing means the
creation of mass stereotypes. Generally, the use of stereotypical profiling in our society not only
exists in regards to race, social class, personality type, and gender but also holds a special meaning
in advertisingcircles as well. To advertisers, stereotyping has become an effective means to pitch
their products according to the personality profiles they have concocted for us and are most times
eerily accurate. For instance, according to advertisers, the daytime... Show more content on

26. The Effects Of Climate Change On Sea Otters
How Does Climate Change Change Affect Sea Otters
Sea Otters as well as many other species are in danger because of Climate Change. The sudden
change in climate has disturbed the ocean s temperature which causes an insufficient amount of
food for sea otters which causes the otters to be malnourished and starved. Because of the change
in climate there has been a decrease in the amount of harp seals (Foley, 2013) which happens to
be the killer whales main prey, because of this the killer whales have now turned to sea otters.
Other likely threats to sea otters because of climate change are ocean acidification in the north
Pacific, pathogen transport, marine invasive species, biotoxins withdrawn in bivalve prey, and
the recurrence and intensity of storm events (Doroff and Burdin, 2015) . Sea otters have a
noticeably solid influence on the wealth of kelp through the impact they have on sea urchins, said
James A. Estes, a professor of ecology and evolutionary biology at the University of California,
Santa Cruz who was a co author on Schmitz s 2014 review and on the original sea otter study. Otters
eat urchins. Urchins eat kelp. So in ocean patches where otters are bountiful, urchin populations
collapse and kelp tends to thrive (Estes,Cruz and Schmitz,2014). The study, led by Wilmers and

who struggle to find ease in their life as they are in two opposing families. In the play Romeo

they use to their advantage. Lord Capulet sets Juliet up with Paris for marriage which shows that
he has trouble understanding what love is. He even told his wife that unworthy as she is, that

32. Differences Between England And The Colonies
1. Social and Political Climate in England and the Colonies in the 1760s
The decade that began in 1760 saw England and the Colonies exiting the Seven Year s War and
welcoming in a new king. The British Empire was reaching the height of its power with its victory
over France and her Allies. This victory led to enhanced feelings of pride and loyalty to the empire.
(Middlekauff, 2005).
This was not to last however, as the English and American societies were beginning to drift apart.
A lot of this was brought about by the differences inherent in the two societies as the American
colonists had a different class and political structure. More Americans, at least white males, owned
property, there was greater religious diversity, and the population was more ethnically diverse. (
Overview of the colonial era, n.d.). This ethnic diversity was in large part due to immigration from
various parts of Europe such as Germany, as well as other parts of the British Empire such as
Scotland and Ireland. These immigrants brought with them different political, social and religious

There s a power wire that comes from the control panel. On most models it s either red or purple.
This power in wire should turn on a test light with the ignition on and maximum speed selected.
The black wire should indicate a strong ground. If you have a good ground and verified power

Zirin, this kinds of acts are unnoticed because of how ideology functions: it naturalizes a set of

43. Matthew Mark And Luke
Introduction
The Gospels Matthew, Mark and Luke are referred to as the Synoptic Gospels because they share
a common vision of the life of Jesus. Among the fundamental issues of Gospel scholarship is the
question of their literary relationship. Because they are so alike, the question that arises is whether
any of the Gospel authors had access to the other Gospels and other potential sources to compose
their own. This paper will provide an overview of the hypothetical missing Gospel designated Q
after the German word Quelle, meaning source and if it impacts the historical reliability of the New
Testament.
What is Source Criticism?
The intention of source criticism is to expose earlier sources that may have been utilized in the
development ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Source Q is the only one that is common to Luke and Mathew. Scholars assume that Q existed
due to the large portions of Luke and Matthew are essentially identical to each other and that are
not found in Mark. While an explanation for this may be that Luke copied Matthew (or vice
versa) it would not explain the problem of why these two Gospels radically differ from one
another on other respects. If either Luke or Matthew derived their Gospel from the other, then it
would be expected that far more common material and shared themes would be present.
Therefore the majority of scholars hypothesize that Matthew and Luke shared source Q in
addition to the Gospel of Mark. Modern scholarship on Q considers it not as a single source but
instead a set of shorter sayings all of which may not have been utilized by Matthew and Luke. No
manuscript of Q has ever been found but its assumed existence is well

How Technology Has Affected Us As Individuals
Technology seems like such a vital impact on all of our lives that most of us think we can t live
without it. Sure, the technology used in medical fields, science, engineering, etc. is such a big
change from the way things were only a century ago that we likely couldn t live without it.
Although technology has made incredible advancements, are people losing the ability to talk to
one another in a face to face situation? It certainly seems like technology has brought us all closer
together than before, but perhaps it s pushing us all apart. When friends can be deleted with the
push of a button, do our own real life relations matter anymore? ... Show more content on

each other, and in turn, they got something out of it. While texting someone may give the
impression that someone is listening, I can bet you that if either of them are reserved at all, they

45. Abstract. . This Individual Study Was Written To Bring
Abstract.
This individual study was written to bring attention to a group of diseases known as Muscular
Dystrophy (MD). In the past, there was little known about these diseases. The basic
understanding was people with MD displayed muscle loss, and the disease was most commonly
found in males. This group of diseases left scientists bewildered and wondering what MD
exactly was. Different cases of MD displayed different characteristics. There were some forms
where the face was affected, where the farther away muscles (distal) were affected, and some
forms that affected that hip and legs. There was also variation in these diseases. One could have
the same type, only being much more severe or mild. As of today, there is still no cure for this...

When the random defect in genes occurs, it can be passed on within a family. MD affects all
ethnicities, ages, and sexes. MD has also been seen all over the world2. Although there are over
30 kinds of MD, only the most prevalent and common MD s will be covered in this paper
including: Duchenne MD, Myotonic MD, Becker MD, Limb Girdle MD, Fascioscapulohumeral
MD, Oculopharngeal MD, Distal MD, Emery Dreifus MD, and Congenital MD. Although all these
variations of MD differ in severity, muscle groups being affected, outlook of diseases,
inheritance, and the cause of the defects, there are some similarities. All MDs cause progressive
weakness, and atrophy of the muscles. There is no cure for any of MDs mentioned above. All
require an accurate diagnosis in order to orchestrate an effective plan of care to improve quality
of life. All are caused by a mutated gene or absence of that gene 1. All can be passed on in a
familial tree once a person is diagnosed. The most common symptoms that all MDs share are
progressive muscle weakness, poor balance, frequent falls, problems walking, delay in development
of muscle skills, difficulty with a specific muscle groups. Other forms may include slowing of the
mind, drooping eyelids, drooling, scoliosis, skeletal deformities, muscle deformities, claw foot,
claw hand, enlargement of calf muscle, and other contractual deformities 3. It is important to
remember that these symptoms are more severe or noticeable in each variation.

46. Sweetness And Power Summary
Sugar currently is the leading cause of obesity in both adults and children. How did sugar become
such a necessity that people are damaging themselves just because they want something sweet?
Sugar is also the cheapest calorie a person can buy; sugary food has become the cheapest food
item in many stores, but it wasn t always this way. Sugarwas once a costly foreign import, yet when
Europeans developed a taste and preference for sugar, there was no stopping Europes need to
have sugar. In Sweetness and Power, the author, Sidney W. Mintz discusses how sugar was first
introduced in Europe and its evolution from a luxury to an everyday necessity. Sugar was first
discovered in Papua New Guinea, traded to foreign empires, and later cultivated... Show more

At this time, sugar is still a luxury, medicine, and spice in western Europe, (Mintz 83) yet it is
beginning to become more popular. This insertion of an essentially new product within popular
European tastes and preferences was irreversible, though the cost of sugar at times certainly
brake consumption (Mintz 38). Once europeans developed a preference for sugar, they started to
move away from sugar being a medicine and spice to sugar becoming a food. The rise in demand
for sugar followed Britain s increase in sugar supply. In 1660 Englishmen consumed 1,000
hogheads and exported 2,000 hogheads, in 1700 Englishmen now consumed 50,000 hogheads and
exported 18,000 hogheads, in 1730 Englishmen now consumed 100,000 hogheads and exported
18,000 hogheads, and in 1753 Englishmen consumed 110,000 hogheads and exported 6,000
hogheads (Mintz 39). These dramatically increasing numbers in consumption demonstrates
England s dependence on sugar. Although sugar was originally a luxury only available to the
elite wealthy households, as sugar production and industrialization became more refined, the
pieces fro sugar dropped and spread into the other classes. Sugar was used to make new desserts
and sweets as well as used in ceremonies and religious events. Sugar spread all the way to the
lower class as it became cheaper and more popular. Sugar consumption as

47. Homeless End Of The Day Analysis
I would consider my self to be some where in between a liberal and a conservative in this issue of
the homeless. I think that although some of the homeless decisions contribute to the reasons of
why they are homeless, they deserve the help and support. No one is perfect, and I think these
people should not be judged by mistakes they made or by their living situation. The homeless at
the end of the day are also human beings that should be treated equally as others. The article is
very sad to read since it is the reality of what some people actually go through and are still going
through at the moment. Its also amusing how they were all willing to open up to complete
strangers about their personal lives. Like what drove these homeless people

Lamuel Gulliver
Jonathan Swift is one of the best known satirists in the history of literature. When one reads his
works, especially something like Gulliver s Travels, it is easy for one to spot the misanthropic
themes, which emerge within his characterization. Lamuel Gulliver is an excellent protagonist: a
keen observer, and a good representative of his native England, but one who loses faith in mankind
as his story progresses. He ends up in remote areas of the world all by accidents in his voyages. In
each trip, he is shipwrecked and mysteriously arrives to lands never before seen by men. This forms
an interesting rhythm in the novel: as Gulliver is given more and more responsibility, he tends to be

Gulliver is a good representative of England, but one who loses faith in mankind as the story
progresses. The visit to Brobdingnag accounts for most of this misery, where he attempts to
preserve his dignity as an English man. Gulliver becomes exactly the controversial figure of what
he was in Lilliput. In this case, the Brobdingnagians remain peaceful with him, yet he is prideful.
The flag of Gulliver s homeland, England, on the coat of arms illustrates pride.
Yet due to his pride for his native England, in the country of the Houyhnhnms, Gulliver is
gradually driven mad by his realization that he can never hope to achieve the state of existence of
the supremely rational, noble Houyhnhnms. Even though the Houyhnhnms consider Gulliver to be
noble, Gulliver is constantly offended when he sees a disturbing resemblance between himself
and the barbaric Yahoos. He falls to the same sin of pride that he condemned in the others in
previous voyages. He is disgusted that the members of his own human race are living a filthy
lifestyle such as the animals of England, and this makes him eager to return to home, where he
thinks things are normal. Therefore, a rat ready to enter its hole represents Gulliver forced to return
to England because of his fear that he will eventually turn barbaric.
The essential rhythm the author has interwoven in all the four of Gulliver s

50. Mass Over Mass Media By Steven Pinker
The article Mass Over Mass Media is written by Steven Pinker. Pinker is a professor in
Psychology at Harvard University who focusses on visual cognation and psychology in language.
He is well known for The Language Instinct How the Mind Works. He was also listed as one of
the most influential people out of 100 in the world. Also, he is known for his ongoing debate over
how the internet has affected our world. Furthermore, author Steven Pinker, states his thesis in a
peculiar way by stating that people often react in a rash way and make negative assumptions when
it comes to inventions and their impacts. All forms of mediahave the power to draw a person in but
that person must control themselves by using the information without abusing it. Consequently,
social media and the internet have had a major impact on our daily lives from the way we work to
the way we learn and socialize.

transistor radios and rock videos were supposed to cause the opposite; electronic media was
supposed to poison our minds, however, discoveries are on the rise at a rate no one can keep up

51. Teenage Stereotypes
Lazy, Disrespectful, Selfish, Technology Crazed. These are just a few of the words that come
to mind when the typical adult describes the everyday teenager. To some, these descriptions are
taken as a given fact and lack recognition of the issue this poses to the individuals on the
receiving end of such. This is the exact issue present in discrimination and stereotyping. For
years, a specific group of individuals has been reduced to the negative connotations presented
against them by every other group that lacks such quality such as their race, gender, appearance,
age ...etc. Every instance applicable contains the common ground in which the other groups fail
to recognize the harm in their superficial classifications of one another due to narrow minded
tendencies. This is the basis to every single form of discrimination. An incredibly oppressed
group who is by far, no stranger to these circumstances are teens who continuously receive the
hostility of adults for simply belonging to their age group. Present day teenagers have come to be
placed in an inaccurate box that classifies them as a selfish, immature group by adults due several
factors, the most prominent being the media and the form it introduces teens to the average adult.
The constant incorrect portrayal of teens in movies, t.v. and other platforms has caused adult
audiences to believe these classifications and thus, cause several issues to be inflicted upon teens
in several areas of their lives that calls for

developed in Chicago in 1893 by Frederick Jackson Turner, an American Historian. In the thesis, the
American frontier established liberty by freeing Americans from the European mindset and
customs. Turner s Frontier thesis quickly became popular amongst scholars and intellectuals. It
emphasized the importance on how the frontier shaped America and its characteristics, in the
abundance of free land, individualism, mobility, and materialism.

able to transform America s economy in a positive way by using their business skills. People
glorified them for their skills and for their charities. J.P. Morgan, Henry Ford, Andrew W.

businessmen who were involved in immortal and ruthless business practices. They would gain
large amounts of profits by paying their employee s very low wages. They drove out their
opponents by selling their products at a cheaper price. They eventually took control of the market
