Toys R Us Research Proposal And Introduction
Chapter 1: Research Proposal and Introduction
Introduction
The Corporate name, founding date, founding leaders. Toys R Us Inc., founding date was 1948 and
the founding leader was Charles P Lazarus. The company, which was originated in Washington D.C.
was named Children s Bargain Town.
Initial Products Toys R Us origins goes back to the first store named Children s Bargain Town. The
first products which were sold were baby furniture and cribs. To keep their customers satisfied they
introduced infant products and toys for children of an older age. They then added cradle gyms,
tricycles, books and an assortment of other toys.
Essential Events and Critical Incidents Toys R Us filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on
September 18, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The company s total debt is in the billions, which was gained because of a buyout in two thousand and
five. Repaying that debt has become increasingly difficult because business has been declining.
Boomey, (2017) states: Toys R Us recently had to shut down some of its stores and let go some of its
corporate employees. The company s competition, which includes Amazon and Walmart have had an
advantage over Toys R Us because they mark down toy prices to attract their customers. But the
competition was only part of their problem. The main cause of the company s debt was the inability to
transform its company digitally. In 2009, the company s e commerce sales amounted to only 4%. The
company s failure to properly set up a digital strategy was their main downfall (Lashinsky, 2017).
Goal of Statement of Problem The goals to Toys R Us problems would be to find a way to receive
monetary funds from a bankruptcy so that they can return to profitability once again. The main goal
would be to restructure its organization by putting together numerous strategies to become a
differentiator in the industry. The strategies will include a creation of an advanced credible digital
platform, reinventing its online store, incorporating a gaming experience while children shop, and
building on their baby product line. These strategies will enable the company to supersede their
competitors.

Stalin s Propaganda Essay
Stalin used propaganda during his rise to power and throughout his reign in power. Propaganda is
information, ideas, or rumors deliberately spread widely to help or harm a person, group, movement,
institution, or nation. It is solely used in hopes to achieve a more positive and willing working class,
through posters, information and street speeches, Stalin eventually and skillfully over his people. Josef
Stalin used propaganda as a tool to brainwash the Russian people to think he was a man of character,
integrity and power. People of different ages/ranges of age were manipulated by Stalin s propaganda
every day of their lives. Anywhere anyone went; it was inevitable that there would be a picture or
news about Stalin around them. A lot ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He was given many titles, such as Father of Nations , Coryphaeus of Science , Brilliant Genius of
Humanity , Great Architect of Communism , and Gardener of Human Happiness . Stalin s name was
even included in the Russian National Anthem. (Kral) All of these aspects led to complete control of
the public and the clouding of their judgment. The public was brainwashed by Stalin s manipulative
powers every day of their lives. Adults were told about the significance of Stalin, and they passed this
knowledge onto their children. This is also known as word of mouth; parents taught their children that
Stalin was the wisest man of the age; teachers told their students that Stalin was the wisest man of the
age, and the news told their listeners that Stalin was the wisest man of the age. Stalin used 7 main
ways to spread his advertisements: posters, art, literature, film, news, education, and youth groups.
(Kral) Adults absorbed most of this propaganda, since it was in the news, on posters in the streets and
in films, Stalin did not have to focus too much on the older generations. However, he did focus on the
youth and children of the era, because they were the next generation of businessmen and military men.
In the youth groups the children were instructed to follow

Confucianism and Filial Piety in Chinese Culture Essay...

IQS 125
26 May 2008 Confucianism and Filial Piety in Chinese culture Western people might wonder why
once upon a time in China, choosing a wife or husband for one s life was not his or her decision but
their parents , or one must mourn for their deceased parents at least three years. The answer is about
the definition of morality. Different conceptions of morality have guided different cultures in different
directions regarding a central question of human existence: Does morality require filial piety (or filial
obligation) of children toward their parents? Confucianism, which remains influential in Chinese
culture, answers an emphatic yes , while Western culture s response is ambiguous, to ... Show more

The concept may appear simple as parents loving their children, spouses and siblings getting along
well, friends helping each other, children caring for their parents. Differently in the West, most social
unrest is the result of the breakdown of family structure, violence caused by friends or spouses having
a disagreement. The fourth basic principle of Confucian thought is Te, which has been translated to
mean power. According to Confucius, only if a leader can set a moral example, can he be successfully
followed by his subjects. The final principle of Confucian thought is Wen, which can be accurately
described as the aesthetic and spiritual expressions which are necessary to sustain culture. In addition,
Li refers Confucius rules of propriety which has shape much of family values. In Confucianism,
propriety is defined as the quality of being proper, of conforming to contemporary uses and customs.
These rules practically extend to every aspect of ancient Chinese lives. There are expectations of
proper conduct inherent not just in personal familial affairs but in their dealings with humanity as a
whole. The same expectations that they have in their families are, in fact, present in practically all
institutions and organizations. Li also mentions Confucius conception of the man of humanity simply
as an extension of his thoughts regarding propriety. The man of humanity varies in his behavior

Background Of Roy Adaptation Model ( Ram )
Background of Roy Adaptation Model The Roy Adaptation Model (RAM) was developed by Sister
Callista Roy who is still an actively working nursing theorist. Sister Callista Roy, PhD, RN, FAAN
currently holds the position of professor and nursing theorist at Boston College Connell School of
Nursing. Roy held master s degrees in pediatric nursing and sociology at University of California, Los
Angeles (UCLA), and also held doctoral degree in sociology. She completed post doc in neuroscience
at University of California, San Francisco (Boston College Connell School of Nursing, 2016). Roy is
well known and most highly recognized a living nurse theorist today in world widely. Roy has
published RAM in 1970s, and then continuously collaborated with Dr. Heather Andrews to expand the
RAM theory in 1986, 1991, 1999, and 2009 (Roy, 2009). Roy first begun to process RAM when she
was studied bachelor science in nursing at Mount Saint Mary s college in Los Angeles. Roy finally
conceptualized and published her nursing model in 1970s when she pursued the master degree in
nursing at UCLA (Butts Rich, 2015). According to Roy (2009), Roy was challenged to develop RAM
to define nursing by professor Dorothy E. Johnson at UCLA, and she believed that the human being is
holistic adaptive system. From fundamental assumption of adaptive system, Roy initially integrated
with scientific idea of Helson s adaptive level theory and von Bertalanffy s system theory. The von

Nitrates In Water
Nitrates in groundwater have become a major issue around the world and have held people back from
drinking clean water. One of the many places being affected by this issue, is a city in the state of
Minnesota by the name, Cold Spring. The main issue for such high capacities of nitrate in water is
cropland agriculture. Cold Spring has had to forcefully shut down a couple of their city wells due to
these high levels of nitrate in their water, leaving the city with a very low capacity of water to use, and
drink. This issue has gotten very far, to the point that the safest level for drinking water is 10
milligrams. Drinking water that contains nitrates can be very harmful to the body and can also develop
syndromes in babies. It s not news that

Whole Class Assessment
By looking over students assessments, there were several patterns that emerged among my students
when it came to problem #4, which Shane, Enzo, and Shaanza s assessments provide those patterns.
Whole Class
As a whole class, based on the rubric and data for problem #4 where all the misconceptions occurred,
6 out of 28 students completely got the problem wrong meaning they didn t have 7/10 or 3/10 or
having the answer of 7 written down. An example of this would be Shaanza s assessment where she
put the fraction 3/7 as her answer. Meaning these students do not understand the concept of a
denominator. Out of these students one is a CELDT level 4, 1 IEP, and 2 struggling students. Out of 28
students, 9 students just wrote the answer not written ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The data states that they need additional help conceptually and in academic language, since they did
well procedurally and in mathematical reasoning. I pulled students for small group instruction during
morning work because this is something they can easily miss and catch up on. So before we went over
problem #4 as a class, I pre introduced to them the sentence frame that will help them to use academic
language and it will also help with their conceptual understanding skills because they re using that
sentence frame to explain how they came to their answer. As a small group, we went over each
question on the day 3 assessment using that sentence frame so I can see how students were coming to
their answers, which helped a lot because I was able to correct on the spot any misconceptions they
were having, which were the patterns mentioned previously and seen in each student work sample.
During the small group instruction, I also pre taught to them March 2nd math lesson so students will
have extra instruction before the rest of the class because I feel after grading the assessments for my
learning segment that these students would benefit from additional practice, which is a next step that I
will continue for the next lessons to come for students that I see are struggling.

The Long-Term Effects Of Abortion
According to CBS News, there are 12 abortions per 1,000 women in Western Europe, 15 per 1,000
women in Southern Africa, and 17 per 1,000 women in Oceania. In North America, there are 19
abortions per 1,000 women, and 43 abortions per 1,000 women in Eastern Europe. Even though, the
number of abortion around the globe is tremendous, very few people stop to think about the
consequences of these in the mother. The long term effects of having an abortion can harm the mother
in some many ways and cause irreversible effects. Damage to the mother can be either physical,
psychological or both.
Physically, the most common result of an abortion is infertility. It can easily happen since it is due in
this case to the fallopian tubes known as Salpingitis.

Pros And Cons Of Charlie Gordon
Learning about the world is challenging enough, but to unlearn it knowing what is being lost is even
more burdensome. Charlie Gordon is a man that learned the world and lost it all. Is knowledge
admirable while it can be retained or is ignorance bliss when it can t? Knowledge is excellent, even if
it is only for a little while, even if it is retained for a short period because people know what the world
is, even when that knowledge is lost, people will retain a certain understanding of the world before
they unlearned it. Some say Knowledge is a wonderful tool in life, but if a man acquires knowledge,
but soon unlearns the knowledge yet understands how the world should be, and then loses it,
ignorance is bliss so the man does not know how people treat them in atrocious ways, and it shall stay
that way for his/her benefit. . All people deserve to acquire Knowledge, so they have the experience of
how life should be. Charlie Gordon acquires knowledge of how the world is and how people treat
people who have mental setbacks. To come from a position where he is made fun of, to know this, and
then back to being treated as a person that has a mental disability, knowing how he is treated has
multiple pros including some cons.
To know information, even if that knowledge hurts you, is useful. Although it may hurt, it is
wonderful because you gain the information. Charlie Gordon learns that his friends are not actually
great friends. After becoming smart Charlie realizes his

Grigori Yefimovich Rasputin Assassination
From peasant to supreme mystic, Grigori Yefimovich Rasputin rose through the Russian hierarchy
using his captivating appearance, charm, and supernatural ability. Rasputin s quick surge of reputation
frightened many and rumors started to grow. The divided population recognized Rasputin as either a
healer and prophet or a mad monk with malintent. Questioning Rasputin s motives and influence,
government officials plotted against him. Eventually came a day that the aristocrats assassinated
Rasputin after several failed attempts. Considering the possibility of assassination, Rasputin left
behind prophecy with consequences that would soon follow. Prior to Rasputin s assassination,
extraordinary events unraveled in the realization of his power. Under unfortunate circumstances,

Advertisements Are A Popular Display Of Marketing
Have you ever really looked at ads, though? I mean, if you look closely and I mean really look closely,
advertisements aren t what they appear to be, in most cases. Advertisements are a popular display of
marketing and have been for decades and will be for decades to come. For as long as I can remember,
advertisements have been a popular way of getting a message across. Whether they are simple or
colorful, they catch the eye of someone that s reading a magazine, or a newspaper. No matter how
much you think it s just a picture, there is a deeper meaning inside of what you re looking at. Of

seductive. The picture of the hamburger instills every aspect of a hamburger you could possibly want
to see. You see: the meat, the tomatoes, the pickles, and the cheese slightly dripping off the edge of the
hamburger. You also see the lettuce and those delicious looking onions to top it off. Everything about
this hamburger is screaming Eat me! As your eyes move along to the bottom of the page, you have in
gray lettering again, Steak N Shake and the places they are located. The gray lettering is what makes
the dark background pop out more, it s a contrast fixture. You notice the lettering because of the
advertisement is very dark and dim to begin with, the gray pops out. Although, those eyes of yours
tend to keep gazing back at the hamburger, because it looks so delicious. At least that s what mine kept
doing when I was looking at the advertisement. This is the most seductive looking advertisement I ve

European Relations With Native Americans

European Relations with Native Americans
As the Europeans arrived on American shores, they encountered a variety of native peoples.
Some were living in advanced civilizations; others were living as simple hunter gatherer cultures.
By the time of the first European contact, in 1492, European settlers interacted with the native peoples
in different ways. The Spanish ruled the natives as conquered people, forcing many to work on
agricultural estates. The French developed a harmonious relationship with the natives. The English
approach fell somewhere between the two polar European powers.
The Spanish settled in present day Mexico and Peru; they encountered the advanced civilizations of
the Aztec and Inca Empires. After diseases wiped out most of the native population, millions survived.
The Spanish incorporated the survivors as laborers for their own empire. Eventually, after forced
labor, the survivors died from exhaustion. Few Spanish families settled the empire so the group of
explorers and soldiers intermarried with the natives. After enslaving indigenous peoples in the
Caribbean and the southern parts of the Americas to grow crops and mine for gold, silver, and other
valuables, the Spanish moved into North America where they concentrated their efforts in what is now
the southwestern and southeastern United States. In present day Florida, Spain established a military
post at San Augustín, but only a small

Truman Show Equality
The Truman show is an American science fiction film produced in 1998, directed by Peter Weir, and
starring Jim Carrey as Truman Burbank, who is unknowingly starring in a produced by a man known
as Christof, who is played by Ed Harris. The movie aims a satirical barb at the rapidly expanding
influence of the media, and this is apparent through the relationship between Christof and Truman, and
how the media, if unchecked, could remove the very notion of privacy, and render it a long forgotten
moral value. Christof was in no way right to prevent Truman entering the real world, as it was wrong
to deny Truman his freedom, it was selfish and morally unjust to put Truman s own feelings, rights
and happiness second to his show s successfulness, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are numerous examples of this throughout the film, however an explicit and rather symbolic one
was nearing the end of the movie, when Truman had finally conquered his fears, and reached the end
of the world. It is at this point that Christof projects his voice to Truman from above the clouds, where
the spiritual residence of a God, or indeed Gods are symbolized to be. This might well have been done
to add to the sense of awe that Truman undoubtedly felt upon realizing that his world was not indeed
the real world but rather, an artificially created one, and one that had been designed by the man that
was now talking to him, the man that even as he first directly speaks to Truman, takes the mantle and
position of God. By doing so, Christof may have attempted to exert a subliminal form of influence
over Truman, in order to better persuade him. His very first words to Truman, in response to Truman s
question about his identity, further reinforces this notion: I am the creator of a television show that
gives hope and joy and inspiration to

The Rising Of A New Nurse Leader
The Rising of a New Nurse leader
Introduction
The making of a nurse leader takes education, training, and experience. Whatever the personality trait
of a professional nurse, this self discovery will only be a means to aim in becoming a nurse leader. A
professional nurse in leadership is one that is transformational, involved in a professional
organization, a change agent, and has a high Emotional Intelligence to be able to manage a team. She

Managed time leads to greater productivity and manageable stress. Moreover, a nurse leader should be
an expert in what she does and a certification is an excellent objective measure of that knowledge
worth acquiring by someone in nursing leadership role. She should also be aware of the political
process in nursing in order to develop into a nurse leader who sets professional goals and influence
others to do likewise. Knowledge of the nursing political process can elevate the nursing profession
through proactive engagement in the legislative process making positive changes in the healthcare
industry possible. Membership on local or national organizations is a platform for nurses to be in
tuned of the current ethical, legal, social issues related to health care. Involvement in the decision
policy making process is not necessarily mean running for political offices, although possible, but a
mere campaign support for someone whose objective is to benefit the nursing industry at large is
undeniably advantageous for the nursing profession (Trosmman 2004).
A Transformational Leader Professional nurses must deliver leadership with communication and
collaborative skills, ethical and legal principles, integrity, and commitment to provide excellent quality
patient care. True leadership is beyond the position of being a manager (Grossman Valiga 2012). In
transformational leadership, a nurse individualizes

An American Model Of The On The Prime Minister
An American model of the Questions to the Prime Minister would be a valuable addition to the
process of government, though changes must be made. First, the questions should not come only from
members of Congress but also from organizational leaders, and group representatives. However, this
should not be open to media outlets to ask questions, only to film and cover the event. Secondly, the
Judiciary branch should be involved in questioning, as it receives little of much due attention. Lastly,
the time period between these sessions should be slightly extended. The President should receive no
aid during his questioning except any notes he happened to prepare ahead of time. The majority of the
Questions to the Prime Minister process ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Permanent representatives should appear in every session, they should ask questions for major labor
unions, youth associations, or corporate organizations. The temporary representatives should be cycled
in based on their relevance to current events, and however long they had been waiting for their turn to
question. The purpose of having more representatives than just Congress members is to broaden the
range and spectrum of opinions being voiced, opinions not only of our government officials but of the
people. The Judiciary branch should also have a representative to ask questions regarding laws and
how the constitution is being considered and applied to the democratic process. Questioning should
not be open to media outlets under any circumstances to stop the spread of misinformation and tactics
used to paint the President in a certain light, whether it be good or bad. These changes will lead to
more opinions being heard and less filtering of the facts. The time period between sessions of
Questions to the President should be extended. One week between sessions is simply not feasible in
the United States. It would be too hard to determine temporary representatives, as well as too difficult
to assemble everyone involved. A session should be held once every three months. This would make it
much easier to decide temporary representatives. as well as to prevent the scrambling induced by a
shorter time period.

Deirdre Sullivan Always Go To The Funeral Analysis
Students who are enrolled in Dual Credit English 1301 are expected to write suitable essays.
Unfortunately, students struggle to understand what a good essay consists of. After doing research and
analyzing This I Believe narratives, the one that stood out to me the most was the personal narrative,
Always Go to the Funeral by Deirdre Sullivan. Sullivan s use of rhetorical devices such as, anecdote,
diction, and pathos, make the article an effective essay that students can analyze and use as an
example to follow.
Sullivan s essay includes many rhetorical devices; the first one that stands out is the anecdote device
because of the experience that she went through. She uses her personal life as a short story to catch the
reader s attention. This is an example of a great device that can be used for all essays, because every
paper needs a hook that will keep the reader interested from the moment they start reading. Although,
sometimes it is difficult for dual credit students to find something that can catch a reader s attention,
this essay can make it less difficult to understand. Another thing that can help the students is the

though she did not want to go to the funeral, she ended up going. Twenty years later, the teacher s

Implicit Personality Theory
Dunning (2007) says that implicit personality theory is the idea that if a person displays one
characteristic, they are likely to have other characteristics associated with the displayed characteristic.
Two types of implicit personality theory Dunning (2007) focused on were the halo effect; if someone
exhibits positive attributes, additional positive attributes will be attributed to them by the perceiver
and vice versa, and attractive people are ascribed more positive attributes by others, regardless of
behavior. It is a heuristic used by people to make impulsive decisions. Unfortunately, it frequently

Exercise On Childhood Obesity Is Becoming A Common Problem
Exercise the main focus
Fitness today seems to be a pretty modern invention. Exercise sure goes back farther in time but we
take fitness classes and participate in many different forms of exercise.Yet despite the plethora of
health and fitness methods, programs, and resources, the general population has never been so
physically sedentary and out of shape., the health and fitness industry as whole, no matter how cutting
edge or revolutionary each new program claims to be, has failed to get the majority of people to value,
practice, and enjoy physical exercise.

When the students exercise stress boredom and depression are minimized they can refocus on school
after they receive some time for exercise. Teachers could also move around with the students to show
that exercise is beneficial for everyone. It might not be the best approach but the physical education
could boost the student s performance by making friendly competition to see what team finishes the
relay first. Some schools strive to improve academic performance many haver cut down physical
education to focus on academics. This point in our society school is the only focus we need kids to be
not overwhelmed by school pressure to just relax with beneficial recess. A new report from the
Institute of medicine shows how wrong this trend could be. Found that exercise can improve cognitive
abilities as well as their lifestyle, students who exercise have lower bodyfat and better cardiovascular
health.(New york times para1 2 ) There are three different types of exercise they are aerobic, flexibility
and dynamic exercises. Some examples of aerobic exercise is running swimming hiking and many
others. Dynamic exercises include running sprints and other drills for better coordination.
To implement more focus on exercise in schools the parents and school boards first need to come

For Many People (Both Male And Female), The Whole Idea
For many people (both male and female), the whole idea of menstruation is icky , yet this is a subject
that female clients (who are of reproductive age) should be asked about, whether they are in a
committed sexual relationship or not. Why? When girls get close to puberty, the endocrine system
activates hormones that begin to make changes in the body. Hormones, on the most basic level,
stimulate growth and the development of the reproductive system in both male and females. In
females, breasts develop, hair grows under the arms and pubic area and menstruation begins (King
Regan, 2014). Once ovulation and menstruation starts the female can become pregnant. Inquiring
about one s menstrual cycle can help to the counselor and client ... Show more content on

In the event a woman has started her menstrual cycle and has had sexual intercourse, some of these
questions may be warranted if her period has suddenly ceased. Consequently, unusual physical,
emotional or other sudden changes may also be important to note. It is also a good teaching
opportunity for those who may not be as knowledgeable about sexually transmitted infections,
pregnancy, birth control, female anatomy and physiology or other issues they may want to discuss.
Should the subject be raised with male clients who are in a sexual relationship? Why or why not?
This question does not have an exact yes or no answer in my opinion. If a male client comes to a
counselor and wishes to discuss their sexual relationship then I would say yes. Once again, as most of
us noted in the sexuality quiz, we do not automatically or naturally have all the knowledge
surrounding the multitude of topics about human sexuality. I feel we should make our clients as
relaxed as possible discussing these subjects and be willing to listen and discuss with empathy. Males
may not know or understand premenstrual syndrome or its symptoms. Consequently, it may help them
to comprehend the implications that affect both he and his partner. If any of these issues are not
relevant or the male does not seem open to discussing them, then I do not feel the subject should be
raised. If the female is also a client, the counselor can not breach confidentiality to discuss her issues
with her partner.

Rent Crash Trucks
In the road construction business, safety is important, and crash trucks can help greatly with this. This
does not mean that your road construction company needs to go out and buy crash trucks right away,
however. Instead, you can consider renting them. These are a few reasons why this can be a better
choice. 1. Rent Crash Trucks That are Convenient to Your Work Location If your road construction
company does work all over the state or even in other states, you might find that transporting all of
your equipment is a hassle. One thing that you can avoid transporting is your crash trucks. If you rent
them, you can rent from a convenient location from where you will be working. This can eliminate

Max Weber s Sociology And Sociology Essay
1. Introduction
Max Weber was a German sociologist, economist and a political leader who influenced the field of
economics and sociology with his research and theories. He is considered as one of the founders of
sociology along with Karl Marx and Émile Durkheim. He was also the founder of German Democratic
Party. His works continue to inspire many economists and sociologists until this day.
The prestige of Max Weber among European social scientists would be difficult to over estimate. He is
widely considered the greatest of German sociologists and ... has become a leading influence in
European and American thought. (Mills, 1946)
2. Weber s Sociology
Weber defined sociology as that science which aims at the interpretive understanding of social
behaviour in order to gain an explanation of its causes, its courses, and its effects. (Denhardt, 2004)
In his sociology, Weber attempted to combine an interest driven analysis with the one that take social
behaviour into account. According to him, economic theory analysed the situation in which a person is
driven mainly by material interests and utility but did not take the behaviour of others into account.
Sociology looked at action that is driven by ideal as well as material interests that is also oriented to
the behaviour of others. There are four kinds of social actions according to Weber s theory of
sociology:
1. Zweck rational action
2. Wert rational action
3. Affectual action
4. Traditional action (Thakur, 2007)

The Yellow Wallpaper
The Yellow Wallpaper Critical Analysis
The short story The Yellow Wallpaper was written by Charlotte Perkins Gilman in an attempt to mirror
her life experiences and express her opinions on many issues of her time. She does so in a way that is
both intriguing and thought provoking to the reader. The main character of the story who stays
unnamed, likely because she is based off of herself, has deep psychological issues which the root of is
unknown and meant to be interpreted from the information in the story. Charlotte Perkins Gilman uses
her struggles and experiences in her own life to channel the main character and create the emotional
whirlwind of a story that she did.

In an article published in The Forerunner, Gilman explains what lead her to write The Yellow
Wallpaper. About her treatment methods she says, I went, in devout faith and some faint stir of hope,
to a noted specialist in nervous diseases, the best known in the country. This wise man put me to bed
and applied the rest cure, to which a still good physique responded so promptly that he concluded
there was nothing much the matter with me, and sent me home with solemn advice to live as domestic
a life as far as possible, to have but two hours intellectual life a day, and never to touch pen, brush, or
pencil again as long as I lived. This was in 1887. I went home and obeyed those directions for some
three months, and came so near the borderline of utter mental ruin that I could see over. In the short
story, the narrator must strictly follow the rules that her husband John sets for her which almost
identically mirror the rules that Gilman s specialist recommended for her. John does not allow her to
write and she must sneak writing in her journal when he is not around. Also, he requires her to have a
certain amount of rest each day and to be isolated for much of her day as well. During her constant
isolation in her room is when she began her perpetual obsession with the rooms yellow wallpaper. Her
loneliness caused her subconscious thoughts to take near complete control of herself which is why she
began hallucinating and seeing a woman in the wallpaper and throughout whatever world she saw
through her eyes. During Gilmans real life treatment, she said she almost went through complete utter
ruin, but it is clear that the story s main character surpassed even this level of insanity. It raises the
question, did the wallpaper make the narrator go insane or if she was already insane and saw
something in the wallpaper that wasn t there?

Methods and Predicted Outcomes for mangroves
Temporary plots are established for the purpose of above ground pool and soil carbon measurements.
The objects are for a single measurement of forest composition, structure and carbon pools. In this
study, a sampling design was adopted from Kauffman and Donato(2012)/Murdiyarso et al(2009) to
describe composition, biomass and ecosystem carbon pools. To assess the carbon stocks, mangrove
ecosystems were divided into two parts; above ground and below ground components. In each

In the present study, six samples per site, with multiple depths collected at each point will be
conducted. It is recommended that when mangrove soils are deeper than 1m, at least the top 100cm
will be sampled(Kauffman and Donato 2012). At the sampling locations, organic matter will be
removed from the soil surface. And then PVC pipe will be steadily inserted vertically into the soil
until the top of the sampler was levelled with the soil surface. Then, the soil will be sampled at depths
of 0 15cm, 15 30cm, 30 50cm and 50 100cm in the present study. During sampling, to archive the
core, take a GPS recording of coring site and assign the site a unique label then photograph the entire
core from top to bottom and record changes that occur with depth. Photos can be taken in the field
once the core will be recovered and one of the splits will be cleaned. Extend a tape measure along the
core starting at the top end and document the split from top to bottom (surface to depth) using detailed
photographs of core image. Be sure to include the tap measure in these images of the core. Place a
label with the core ID so that is appears in all photographs and identifies which direction is the top and
bottom of the core and use a polarizing filter to limit the light reflected off the wet surface of the core.

Heparin Research Paper
Thromboembolic diseases are increasing all over the globe and always require anti coagulant therapy.
Heparin is one of the most available drugs for anti coagulant activity and is the second most used
naturally occurring drug after insulin (REF). It is a highly sulfated glycosaminoglycan made up of
disaccharide units containing a hexuronic acid (α L iduronic acid or β D glucuronic acid) linked 1, 4 to
α D glucosamine. The heparin molecules consist of a heterogeneous mixture of polymers with a
similar backbone, which results from variations of sulfation on the uronic acid residue (O sulfated at

These sulphated polysaccharides show great advantages as alternative sources for anti coagulant
therapies, especially because of the massive use of heparin (Fareed et al., 2000). These marine
sulphated polysaccharide also offer some advantages over heparin. They show considerably lower
contamination levels of virus and/or prions because they are exclusively extracted from marine
sources. Moreover, these marine sulphated polysaccharides have the potential of being more useful as
clinical reagents due to their regular and well defined structures (Pomin Mourão, 2008). This attention
is a consequence of the great interest in novel sulfated polysaccharides such as glycosaminoglycans
(GAG). GAG are of particular interest to researchers looking for alternative and/or safer sources of
heparin (Mourão Pereira, 1999). Cassaro et al. [1] studied and found that there were various
glycosaminoglycans in mollusk. Many scholars have separated and extracted glycoprotein or
glycosaminoglycan from the edible parts of mollusca such as pearl oysters and scallops [2 12].
Abalone, a sea mollusc are also being investigated as sources of anti thrombotic and anti coagulant

FitzGerald, 2012). Different types of sulphated polysaccharides that have been obtained from visceral

Male Body Image
Despite the lack of response I knew I had to create something related to the male body, so I started to
draw freely without any concerns regarding the outcome. With the Defining beauty: the body in
ancient Greek art exhibition in mind I sketched a few naked male figures until I eventually ended up
with a big, muscular cartoon man rendered in my own style the way I see and appreciate the male
form is translated in the way I draw.
It was then that I decided to turn it into an action figure, mainly because of what I read on Evolving
Ideals of Male Body Image (2007), an article that Clare found for me after one of the tutorials I had
with her. It hypothesizes that the shapes seen in action toys for children convey an evolution of
cultural archetypes of male body image because characters grow more muscular with time, a fact also
mentioned by Morgan (2005). Furthermore, the article made the same claims shown somewhere in the
middle of the documentary Bigger Stronger Faster (2008) and backed up my own perceptions of when
I was a child who grew up infatuated by muscular action figures whose bodies that were simply out of
reach. Consequently Grogan (2008) points out that comparison in young boys is critical for their
development in later years, stating a diversity of external factors that contribute to this to some extent,
although she never mentions toys.

In Shakespeare s Much ado about nothing, there are many instances of deception, which seem to

Elizabeth Bennet Enlightenment
Elizabeth Bennet As An Enlightenment Figure
During the Regency Period of 19th century England, traditions and strict social standards
characterized society. The lower class were inferior to the wealthy, and the sentiment of male
superiority suppressed the potential of women. However, these standards were challenged by the Age
of Enlightenment, which occurred prior to the Regency Period and inspired the use of independent
thinking. Enlightenment figures questioned traditional authority and embraced the notion that
humanity could be improved through rational change, therefore providing the impetus for others to

them. Upon first meeting Mr. Darcy, she overhears a distasteful conversation between him and Mr.
Bingley, which leads her to assume that she has no very cordial feelings towards him (Austen 14).
Elizabeth s negative opinion of Mr. Darcy intensifies when Mr. Wickham tells her stories that appear
to confirm his overly prideful demeanor. Mr. Darcy, however, believes that Elizabeth is too rash in her
judgements, and says, I can readily believe [...] that reports may vary greatly with respect to me; and I

Darcy knows that Wickham s stories are false, but Elizabeth s flaw initially prevents her from listening

in the world to think ill of [him] (Austen 186); however, in a subsequent letter, Darcy gives a thorough

The answer is about the definition of morality. Some were living in advanced civilizations; others were living as simple hunter gatherer cultures. By the time of the first European contact, in 1492, European settlers interacted with the native peoples in different ways. The Spanish ruled the natives as conquered people, forcing many to work on agricultural estates. The French developed a harmonious relationship with the natives. The English approach fell somewhere between the two polar European powers. The Spanish settled in present day Mexico and Peru; they encountered the advanced civilizations of the Aztec and Inca Empires. After diseases wiped out most of the native population, millions survived. The Spanish incorporated the survivors as laborers for their own empire. Eventually, after forced labor, the survivors died from exhaustion. Few Spanish families settled the empire so the group of explorers and soldiers intermarried with the natives. • 26. The Yellow Wallpaper The Yellow Wallpaper Critical Analysis The short story The Yellow Wallpaper was written by Charlotte Perkins Gilman in an attempt to mirror her life experiences and express her opinions on many issues of her time. She does so in a way that is both intriguing and thought provoking to the reader. The main character of the story who stays unnamed, likely because she is based off of herself, has deep psychological issues which the root of is unknown and meant to be interpreted from the information in the story. Charlotte Perkins Gilman uses her struggles and experiences in her own life to channel the main character and create the emotional whirlwind of a story that she did. In an article published in The Forerunner, Gilman explains what lead her to write The Yellow Wallpaper. About her treatment methods she says, I went, in devout faith and some faint stir of hope, to a noted specialist in nervous diseases, the best known in the country. This wise man put me to bed and applied the rest cure, to which a still good physique responded so promptly that he concluded there was nothing much the matter with me, and sent me home with solemn advice to live as domestic a life as far as possible, to have but two hours intellectual life a day, and never to touch pen, brush, or pencil again as long as I lived. This was in 1887. I went home and obeyed those directions for some three months, and came so near the borderline of utter mental ruin that I could see over. In the short story, the narrator must strictly follow the rules that her husband John sets for her which almost identically mirror the rules that Gilman s specialist recommended for her. John does not allow her to write and she must sneak writing in her journal when he is not around. Also, he requires her to have a certain amount of rest each day and to be isolated for much of her day as well. During her constant isolation in her room is when she began her perpetual obsession with the rooms yellow wallpaper. Her loneliness caused her subconscious thoughts to take near complete control of herself which is why she began hallucinating and seeing a woman in the wallpaper and throughout whatever world she saw through her eyes. During Gilmans real life treatment, she said she almost went through complete utter ruin, but it is clear that the story s main character surpassed even this level of insanity. It raises the question, did the wallpaper make the narrator go insane or if she was already insane and saw something in the wallpaper that wasn t there? ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In the present study, six samples per site, with multiple depths collected at each point will be conducted. It is recommended that when mangrove soils are deeper than 1m, at least the top 100cm will be sampled(Kauffman and Donato 2012). At the sampling locations, organic matter will be removed from the soil surface. And then PVC pipe will be steadily inserted vertically into the soil until the top of the sampler was levelled with the soil surface. Then, the soil will be sampled at depths of 0 15cm, 15 30cm, 30 50cm and 50 100cm in the present study. During sampling, to archive the core, take a GPS recording of coring site and assign the site a unique label then photograph the entire core from top to bottom and record changes that occur with depth. Photos can be taken in the field once the core will be recovered and one of the splits will be cleaned. Extend a tape measure along the core starting at the top end and document the split from top to bottom (surface to depth) using detailed photographs of core image. Be sure to include the tap measure in these images of the core. Place a label with the core ID so that is appears in all photographs and identifies which direction is the top and bottom of the core and use a polarizing filter to limit the light reflected off the wet surface of the core. • 31. Heparin Research Paper Thromboembolic diseases are increasing all over the globe and always require anti coagulant therapy. Heparin is one of the most available drugs for anti coagulant activity and is the second most used naturally occurring drug after insulin (REF). It is a highly sulfated glycosaminoglycan made up of disaccharide units containing a hexuronic acid (α L iduronic acid or β D glucuronic acid) linked 1, 4 to α D glucosamine. The heparin molecules consist of a heterogeneous mixture of polymers with a similar backbone, which results from variations of sulfation on the uronic acid residue (O sulfated at C2) and on the D glucosamine (N acethylated, N sulfated, O sulfated at C6 and/or C3). These sulphated polysaccharides show great advantages as alternative sources for anti coagulant therapies, especially because of the massive use of heparin (Fareed et al., 2000). These marine sulphated polysaccharide also offer some advantages over heparin. They show considerably lower contamination levels of virus and/or prions because they are exclusively extracted from marine sources. Moreover, these marine sulphated polysaccharides have the potential of being more useful as clinical reagents due to their regular and well defined structures (Pomin Mourão, 2008). This attention is a consequence of the great interest in novel sulfated polysaccharides such as glycosaminoglycans (GAG). GAG are of particular interest to researchers looking for alternative and/or safer sources of heparin (Mourão Pereira, 1999). Cassaro et al. [1] studied and found that there were various glycosaminoglycans in mollusk. Many scholars have separated and extracted glycoprotein or glycosaminoglycan from the edible parts of mollusca such as pearl oysters and scallops [2 12]. Abalone, a sea mollusc are also being investigated as sources of anti thrombotic and anti coagulant molecules because they are rich sources of structurally diverse bioactive components (Harnedy and FitzGerald, 2012). It was then that I decided to turn it into an action figure, mainly because of what I read on Evolving Ideals of Male Body Image (2007), an article that Clare found for me after one of the tutorials I had with her. It hypothesizes that the shapes seen in action toys for children convey an evolution of cultural archetypes of male body image because characters grow more muscular with time, a fact also mentioned by Morgan (2005). Furthermore, the article made the same claims shown somewhere in the middle of the documentary Bigger Stronger Faster (2008) and backed up my own perceptions of when I was a child who grew up infatuated by muscular action figures whose bodies that were simply out of reach.
