The Importance Of Performance At Carnegie Hall
Every musician definitely dreams about one day performing at Carnegie Hall because it is one of the
best concert halls all over world. Since it first built, it keeps providing good shows and performances
to audience. According to this article, Carnegie Hall decides to add more events in the next couple
years, and despite classical music events, they want to provide more modern musical events to
audience. Also, in the next following years, they will more focus on education and try to bring more
children and students get involved into live performances (Cooper, n.p.).
When I first saw this news, I was so happy to know that Carnegie decided to offer more events.
Nowadays, the technologies develop so fast, and we can get whatever we want from

Abraham Lincoln Despotism
There is no reason in the world why the negro is not entitled to all the natural rights enumerated in the
Declaration of Independence the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. I hold that he is as
much entitled to these as the white man. ~Abraham Lincoln
Abraham Lincoln (1809 1865) was born in Kentucky. He served as the 16th president of the United
States during the Civil War era (a.k.a. The War Between the States). He eventually moved to Illinois,
where he established a retiring law practice and served as a state legislator. He was elected to
Congress in 1846, but did not seek a possible reelection. Lincoln was one of the very people who

If one misuses the power that has been granted to him, it can lead to despotism. Slavery is an example
of despotism; one can have dominion over another person. When Great Britain colonized and ruled
over many countries long ago including the United States and India, it was an example of autocracy.
Lincoln often spoke eloquently about the Declaration of Independence as the touchstone of American
values, but contemporary social attitudes did as much as the principles of the founding to shape his
views on racial relations. The main purpose of the Declaration of Independence written by Jefferson
was to announce the colonies separation from England. It also stated the principles that were the
foundation for seeking independence. In a speech criticizing the Dred Scott decision, Lincoln
emphasized that the Declaration set a standard of universal equality for the benefit of future
generations. He said that decision was based on assumed historical facts which were not really true;
and I ought not to leave the subject without giving some reasons for saying this; I therefore give an
instance or two, which I think fully sustain me. Chief Justice Taney [...] insists at great length that
[Negroes] were no part of the people who made, or for whom was made, the Declaration of
Independence, or the Constitution of the United States (Lincoln, Speech on the Dred Scott Decision in
Springfield, Illinois). Lincoln noted Judge Curtis s opinion showing that in five of the thirteen original
states, the freed Blacks were among the White people, who took part in the voting on the Constitution
(Lincoln, Speech on the Dred Scott Decision in Springfield, Illinois). The judge made the following
conclusion, while quoting from the US

West Nile Virus Case Study
Before 1999, the West Nile Virus was unknown in the Western hemisphere. Since then, however, each
summer has shown it moving progressively across the United States starting in New York. Such
recurrent and steady movement means that the virus is here to stay. Transmitted by the bite of infected
mosquitoes, the disease causes encephalitis, which is inflammation of the brain. Although most cases
are relatively mild and include symptoms like a fever and skin rash, those with more severe cases can
exhibit convulsions, muscle weakness, and paralysis. Some cases even prove fatal. There is no
specific treatment for the virus, with most therapy coming under hospital oversight. In working to
prevent the disease, several areas have taken to spraying against mosquitoes and recommended the ...

The most effective way to avoid West Nile virus disease is to prevent mosquito bites. Be aware of the
West Nile virus activity in your area and take action to protect yourself and your family (Centers for

Repellents containing DEET, picaridin, IR3535, and some oil of lemon eucalyptus and para menthane

Don t apply repellents containing permethrin directly to skin. Do not spray repellent on the skin under

Install or repair screens on windows and doors to keep mosquitoes outside. Use your air conditioning,

A. quot;It seems clear that the California Legislature has determined that incarceration is not
appropriate for many criminal offenses and that alternative sanctions are preferable for non violent
offenders. quot; (Randy Meyer, Political
Official) B. But while this approach is to be applauded, its spreading prevents the fulfillment of its
true potential. C. quot;By retaining those non violent offenders that are currently in state prison and
continuing to pursue defensive punishment at the local level in the form of short term quot;shock

remain intact. quot; (Charles Calderon US News) D. By immediately eliminating incarceration for all
non violent offenses and requiring victim compensation and community service, resources can be
committed to preventing crime rather than to the feeding and housing of offenders. E. This is
consistent with the findings of the legislature and is cost efficient, requires minimal systemic change,
and increases public safety and security.

Death Of A Salesman Character Analysis Essay
In the very first part of Act I of the play Death of a Salesman , the reader gets to know the main
characters of the play, especially how they behave, their personality and, even if very implicitly, the
writer makes some of the character s feelings to transpire. Therefore, Willy, which is old and very
dreamy, can be considered as the character whose everything turns around him and, even if at first he
seems very grumpy, the reader, later on in the play, gets to know that he is very affectionate to his
family. In this first part of the first Act, Willy comes back home and, during a conversation with his
wife, he confesses to having smashed the car again because he was busy admiring the landscapes.
Regarding on this, his two sons, who he is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Biff, instead, is very happy and proud of what he is doing, however by working in a farm he
disappointed most of the people he knows that wanted him to be a businessman, Willy included.
Therefore, the main theme developed in this first part of the first Act of the play is prototyping, which
is totally understandable and normal for the period the play is settled in, that is the American Dream.
Consequently, every single character in this first part of Death of a Salesman , finds himself to fight
against the prototypes that the society, during those years, was trying to impose to them. This theme is
clearly expressed by the characters of Happy and Biff, and at times by Willy as well: they are all
trying to be happy themselves, but at the same time to respect and satisfy what the society whats them
to be, and so, therefore, to be the prototype of a young American man living during the era of the
American dream. Happy, for example, during a talk he has with his brother, express all his
disappointment in seeing that he is exactly what everyone wants and expects him to be, however, even
if he almost incarnates the

Essay On Cyber Espionage In China
The 2015 agreement between the United States and China concerning economic espionage has been
viewed with both optimism and skepticism. It s the first agreement of any substance on the issue,
which is a hopeful sign. China doesn t enjoy a reputation of carefully adhering to international
agreements and there is doubt about whether the agreement will have any practical effect on China s
behavior.
Since the early 2000s, cyber espionage issues have increasingly strained U.S. China relations. All
countries engage in espionage, but China is one of the largest and most persistent perpetrators (as is, to
be fair, the United States). In 2010, suspected Chinese cyber activities started to become a regular
topic of discussion inside the U.S. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
China blames a Cold War mentality for the United States characterizing China as the miscreant. As Xi
Jinping put it in September 2015, The Cold War has long ended. [China and the U.S.] should make
joint efforts to build a new model of major country relations between two countries, and realize non
conflict, non confrontation, mutual respect, and cooperation.
The differing approaches to cyberspace use and government also reflect, to some extent, the larger
world views of the U.S. and China. The United States values freedom of expression and self
determination. It seeks to increase these freedoms in its international interactions and believes the free
flow of information over the internet is the key to strategic and diplomatic success.
The U.S. also has a strong commitment to privacy (although not as strong as the European Union,
which recently invalidated the U.S. EU data transfer agreement because it provided insufficient
protections for EU citizens). The activities of government agencies like the National Security Agency
(NSA) in cyberspace has generated lively debate in the U.S. regarding how best to balance privacy
and national security. Most recently, Congress eliminated the NSA s bulk phone records collection
program, replacing it with a constrained measure designed to keep the records in phone companies
hands. The internal, on going privacy debate influences U.S. policies across the board, but especially
with regard to cyber activities.
China, meanwhile,

Reflection On Dreaming And Consciousness
The Robert Berezin M.D. author of the article Reflections On Dreaming and Consciousness discusses
what we are dreaming when we are sleeping and how they operate when we are sleeping. In the
article, he claims that during sleep our muscle goes to rest and all the waste products of muscle
activity eliminated. The author supports most dreams are emotional conflicts and in my dreams are
emotional conflicts, when I dream about the pain, the dreams help me to settle down my emotion
because I took an action against pain in my dream. The author describes that people address conflict
through the dreams such as pain, hopes, sexual interest. I strongly agree with him because whenever I
face conflicts, the dreams help me to settle down my emotion because I took an action against
conflicts in my dream and this make me feel better. The authors mention that we do not fully
remember our dreams. I think the reasons people do not remember their dreams because I believe a
dream is a fantasy world, dreams are not turning out as an actual real life event. Whatever we do
throughout the day and whatever consequences we face throughout the day converted into a story and
we saw that image in our dreams, in fact, the dreams do not solve problems in our life, when we
dream about addressing the problem we wish we could solve the problem this way. So, the dreams are
kind of useless in our life, therefore, most people forget about their dreams and they only remember
tiny portions.
My textbook says about the dreams is our dream simply reflect life events that are important to the
people. In the textbook, famous scientist Freud classified dreams as a two categorized such as
manifest content and latent content. The manifest content is our important events convert into a
storyline and we see the visual image, on the other hand, latent content is a hidden meaning of the
dream. The psychologists also discover lucid dreams and this dream are slightly different than a
regular dream because a person is conscious when they are dreaming also the dreamer control the
content of the dreams. My notes support the author claim about people dreams on sexual interest
because my notes say approximately 95% of peoples dreams about the sexual interest and

Essay about Daniel Keys Flowers For Algernon
CHARLY
The book Flowers For Algernon , by Daniel Keys was written in 1961. Later, Richard Heynes decided
to produce the movie in 1968 properly called Charly . There are both similarities and differences
between the two. However, the differences play a more crucial role between the two rather then the
similarities.
One major difference between the movie and book is the events that took place. One example is when
Charly met Fay. This never happened in the movie. But in the movie, when he met her he let all of his
inner feeling out into the open and had a great time. In the movie he only went away for awhile and
even then he only had what seemed to be a few short flings. With Fay, Charly was able express

Donner s bakery he was never harassed by the new employee. This was when Joe Carp and the other
realized that Charly was back to his old self. Joe Carp roughed up the bully and got him fired for his
actions directed at Charly.
Another major difference between the book and movie is the traits and actions taken by the characters.
One example is Alice Kinnian. In the story, she is depicted as a quiet, non aggressive person, but in the
movie she is very much the opposite in character. For one, she never really made a move towards
Charly, however, in the movie, she is the more aggressive between the two. Also, towards the end of
the movie, Alice asked Charly to marry her and that never even happened in the novel at all. Charly is
another character who is given different traits and actions in the movie then the book. In the book, he
is a kind, warm hearted man who couldn t harm a fly. Believe it or not in the movie Charly tried to
sexually assault Alice. In the book he never ever would have tried to do such a horrible thing to Alice.
Also, he got very upset when he found out that he failed one of the tests given to him at the laboratory.
He could have cared less if he failed in the book. Charly s family is something else that was never
mentioned in the movie, and it s probably the most important difference of them all. It is the most
important because of the fact that when Charly went to visit his family, it brought to him a great deal
of happiness

All Sealants Are Not Created Equal Case Study
When you have asphalt pavement, you must maintain it properly to make sure that it reaches its full
life expectancy. Sealcoating is a vital part of maintaining asphalt pavement; it can prolong the
pavement s life as well as improve its appearance. However, you might not be aware of the key
ingredients that go into a quality sealant and how they affect the results of the sealcoating job.
All Sealants Are Not Created Equal
Your sealcoating contractor can choose from a wide variety of sealants for your job. The options
include sealants of different quality levels that normally have different prices. If you want your
sealcoating to last, you want to make sure that your contractor chooses a sealant that is of sufficient
quality for the use to which your pavement will be subjected. Applying a sealant meant to support
only light pedestrian traffic to a busy parking lot is simply not going to yield the desired results. The
sealcoating will disintegrate quickly, meaning that your pavement will no longer have the protection
you need.

Sand makes an ideal aggregate for sealcoating and provides a number of benefits. Sand enhances
traction on the sealcoated pavement, enhancing safety for pedestrians as well as drivers. It also helps
with the appearance of the pavement; the sand will settle in hairline cracks or tiny imperfections to
improve the smoothness of the surface. Furthermore, sand helps the sealcoating form a tough, hard
film to provide better resistance to traffic, chemicals and sunlight. However, the amount of sand
included in the mix must be correct and it must have grains that are the right

Thesis On Work Values
Chapter 2
Review of Literature
Work Value
Work occupies a central place in one s life. The importance attached to work has been quite a popular
topic in social science and management. Theory and research on work values proceed largely from the
premise that work values are derived from people s basic value system that help them navigate
through the multiple spheres of their lives.
Rokeach (1973) in an early pioneering thesis states that a value is an enduring belief that a specific
mode of conduct or end. State of existence is personally or socially preferable to an opposite or
converse mode of conduct or and a state of existence. He defines beliefs about preferable modes of
conduct instrument values and beliefs about preferable and states terminal values. In a value system,
individual rank order their instrumental and terminal values along a continuum of importance. Some
researchers stress that work goals can be regarded synonymous to work values since the concept of
goals is a core element of values. Zedeek (1997) for example has ... Show more content on

Persuasive Essay About Living In Denver
Living in Denver One of the best things about living in Denver is that it offers a high end experience
with all the amenities one would expect from a large city. With over 4 million people living within the
city, great experiences can be found in the way of shopping, dining and extra curricular activities.
However, the city itself also offers a laid back, country feel to its residents, which makes life peaceful
and exciting at the same time. Naturally, ski resorts are one of the major high points of Colorado, and
Denver is just a few moments from many of them. Along with winter sports, outdoor activities are also
plentiful during the summer. For example, many residents spend time hiking and biking during the
winter months. During this time,

The Origin Of Inequality In Society
Inequality is the result of the formation of a society. In the treatise, Discourse on the Origin of
Inequality, Rousseau analyzes the important factors that develop inequality through human s natural
instincts in a society. A society is a group of individuals who leave the state of nature to achieve a
common goal under the rule of a higher power. In this case, society s common goal is to advance from
their primitive state of nature to preserve their property. Throughout society s creation, self
preservation, natural talents, and jealousy become important influences on the development of
inequality. Self preservation is one of the many elements that kindle inequality. According to
Rousseau, man s first concern was that of his preservation (Rousseau 44), therefore self preservation
exists in the state of nature before the establishment of society. Over time, the exercise of self
preservation eventually leads to the creation of society, which results in the creation of inequality. For
instance, Rousseau claims, The first person who, having enclosed a plot of land, took it into his head
to say this is mine and found people simple enough to believe him, was the true founder of civil
society. (44) This act of self preservation fabricates society and consequently, steers men to the
evolving of inequality. Property determines wealth which establishes a social hierarchy, therefore
creating a system of inequality. The level of equality begins to shift when men preserve what belongs
to him, [(the man who claims the land)], without explaining what they mean by belonging. (17) Men
start to transfer authority over to whom they believe is stronger , while the weaker men are under the
rule of the magistrate. This new idea of regulation and superiority is what constructs the beginning of
inequality. Men are naturally selfish and care largely about their own private interests. For instance,
Rousseau says, ... if a hare happened to pass within reach of [a man], no doubt he would have pursued
his prey, he cared very little about causing his companions to miss theirs. (47). This act of greed gives
up the opportunity for another man to obtain the hare, and it is therefore a cause for inequality.
Furthermore, The

What Were The Main Problems With The Articles Of 1787
The Articles of Confederation, ratified on March 1, 1781, created the structure for the confederation of
the 13 colonies that fought in the American Revolution. It set up a federal government with very
limited powers, and it gave most of the power to the 13 states. Within a short period of time, the
Constitution of 1787 was ratified to solve the problems that the Articles of Confederation did not
address. The Articles of Confederation had major problems, caused by the fear of a distant national
government, which would get solved six years later in the Constitution. One main problem with the
Articles of Confederation was a weak national government, where Congress did not have the power to
levy taxes. In Article 8 of the Articles of Confederation, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This was a major problem because even though Congress was the only component of government,
they did not have the power to force the states to do anything. The government was unable to force or
interpret laws. In the Articles of Confederation, Article 2 states, Each state retains its sovereignty,
freedom, and independence, and every power, jurisdiction, and right, which is not by this
Confederation expressly delegated to the United States, in Congress assembled (Articles of
Confederation, Article II). This declares that each state can keep their jurisdiction, which meant that
each state has its own power to regulate their own laws. Moreover, any rights and powers that are not
given to Congress by the Articles of Confederation are kept by the state. Since the government did not
have an executive branch, there was no one to enforce the laws created by Congress. Theoretically,
Congress could raise an army, but they could not force any states to send people to go to war or force
the states to give them any equipment necessary for the war. This shows how little power Congress
actually had under the Articles of Confederation. Furthermore, even if Congress passed a law for the
citizens of the United States, the states could ignore the law and there would be no consequences.
Individual states could also

What Does The Sand Symbolize In Fahrenheit 451
Fahrenheit 451... the temperature at which books burn. Fahrenheit 451 is a novel posted by Ray
Bradbury published in 1953. It portrays a future America where books are banned and firemen burn
any that are reported and found. Bradbury uses many symbols in this book. Symbolism is portrayed
throughout the novel with the hearth and the salamander, the sieve and the sand, and fire.
The Hearth and the Salamander is the title of part one. The firemen wear salamanders on the arms of
their uniform (Bradbury 6). They also refer to their firetrucks as salamanders (Bradbury 121). Both
hearths and salamanders can be connected with fires. Hearths are similar to fireplaces, and can
traditionally be found in the heart of homes and can be the source of warmth. Salamanders were also
once believed to live in fires without being consumed by the fire.
The Sieve and the Sand is the title of the second part of the book. Montag is on a subway on his way
to Faber s house and he gets reminded of his childhood, Bradbury then uses the flashback to explain
how when Montag was younger he tried to fill a sieve with sand (Bradbury 78). In Montag s mind the

Fire is symbolized through the firemen who burn books and wear the number 451 on their helmets
(Bradbury 3). Bradbury also used Clarisse to exemplify fire by having her remind Montag of candle
light (Bradbury 7). Finally, towards the end of the book Montag see Granger s fire as warming and
inviting (Bradbury 145). For the firemen, fire symbolizes destruction, and 451° is the temperature at
which the books burn. Now when Montag sees Clarisse she reminds him of a candle light, which
represents self awareness and knowledge when it is controlled. Towards the end, Montag meets
Granger and his men. When he sees the fire, it has a different meaning to him now. Instead of it
burning, it was warming. It was

Soccer will help others in ways that other sports can t necessarily do. Soccer is not only an engaging
sport, but it also gives you physical and mental benefits. Much associate soccer with English history,
but actually it all started in the Han Dynasty. The Han Dynasty started the roots of the game by filling

Richard Mulcaster believed, He pointed out that the game, if requiring a little refinement, had a
positive educational value as it promoted health and strength (History of Football). What he first did
was that he wanted a limited number of players per team, so they aren t as crowded as before. This
new and important change would help let all players feel like they are part of the team. Most notably,
he wanted a referee that would be much stricter, so the king wouldn t ban the game for being too
violent again. Richard Mulcaster changed the basics of the game, so it would be more beneficial for
people to play. The major changes of the game though came around the beginning of the 19th century.
Soccer being admitted into schools was the turning point because the game was spread throughout to
other places for people to have ideas on how the game should function as a sport. From there, It soon

The Deforestation Of The Amazons Deforestation
The Amazons Deforestation Have your eyes ever set on a barren land where even technology can t
reverse the damage we have caused? We care mostly for the present, but we must never forget to see
to the future and in this case the deforestation of the Amazons. Deforestation is considered the second
largest anthropogenic source of carbon dioxide to the atmosphere (Song et al. 2). Each day we are
wiping out miles of trees from one of our most diverse ecosystems in the planet, and one of our largest
lungs in the world. At our rate of destruction of the rainforest, we would have inflicted in our future a
great disservice, as the trees cut down would no longer give us clean air and more CO2 would pollute
our air. CO2 can have a negative impact on our health. As we breathe in this air, it can lead to lung
cancer and other diseases. By destroying the Amazon ecosystem we could drive many exclusive
species that only live in the Amazon to extinction. Will we know the harm we have caused right away?
Probably not, but we will definitely find out sooner rather than later. The cause of the Amazon
deforestation is due to our need for wood to stay warm, and for developing countries to use it for fuel.
Our top priority in conserving the Amazons is the unforeseen environmental impact that can be caused
to our planet and to us. Tropical deforestation also has other negative externalities, such as the loss of
biodiversity, erosion, floods, and lowered water levels (Jusys). Every day we

Race The Tempest
The representation of race in the play is eurocentric as Caliban s physical appearance marks him as
different and therefore sub human, this can be seen in his name which is an anagram of cannibal, a

Caliban as a property that might be sold in Europe for his freakishness. Trinculo says Were I in

It is the cliché story of the rightful ruler who is overthrown by his enemies, but manages to restore his
status and live happily ever after. However, the play fails to question Caliban s position and view as a
savage and slave, by only acting out the treatment of natives people by Europeans. Prospero is a bigot
who validates and legitimise his treatment, intolerance and prejudice of Caliban due to his supposedly
savage behaviour of resisting submission and his attempted rape of Miranda. He is seen as the Other ,
different from Europeans and therefore naturally inferior, But thy vile/race/Though thou didst learn

him inferior, even though the supposedly benevolent Europeans tried so to make him human as
Prospero says ( A devil, a born devil, on whose nature/Nurture can never stick; on whom my

price, say $15 $20? Maybe a matinee in the range of $7 $10? VOD for $5? A trip to the RedBox for
$2?
While I do not intend to marginalize Atomic Blonde down to one distinct moment, all my thoughts
gravitate to one place. That scene. Oh my gosh, that scene.
And we will talk about that scene more in a moment. What you find with Atomic Blonde, director
David Leitch s first credited feature as director (after uncredited work on 2014 s John Wick), is an
often entertaining, messy, and unnecessarily complicated story featuring Charlize Theron ruling the
screen in an impressive, go for broke performance, introducing Lorraine Broughton as the centerpiece
to a potential new franchise for the Oscar winning actress.
To be fair, Atomic Blonde is more than an almost ten minute action sequence where Theron dispatches
a number of henchmen with incredible precision, in an apartment building and stairwell, with no
visible edits, in a single take brawl that finds Theron doing all her own fight choreography, and...you
know what...
Not yet. Sorry. Got ahead of myself.
Atomic Blonde tells the story of Broughton, an MI6 agent brought back to London from Berlin, under
interrogation by her boss (Toby Jones) and an American C.I.A. operative (John Goodman). Each hold
a keen interest in the events surrounding her, another Berlin based agent named David Percival (James
McAvoy), and The List , a

Charlie shares the whole experimental experience with Algernon and Charlie discovers his own future
through Algernon. However when Charlie falls intellectually we see the strength of friendship at the
end of the novel and Charlie s last words are put some flowers on Algernon s grave in the bak yard
(Keyes, 311). This shows that Carlie understood the true meaning friendship, that it can take place
between anyone and anything as long as it s unconditional.
Intellectual growth is the development of one s ability to process information and form your own
conclusions. We see Charlie s intellectual growth throughout the book. He eventually surpasses
everyone around him and starts viewing them with a more critical eye. On April first Charlie surprises
his workmates by demonstrating that he can operate the dough mixer and the on April twenty first he
redesigns the whole dough mixing process. Charlie makes tremendous psychological leap with his
realization. When Charlie says Gimpy stealing from Mr.Donner ... I wanted to hit him (Keyes, 88) this
statement reveals that Charlie is capable of solving moral predicaments, such as Gimpy s theft all by
himself due to that fact all his coworkers want him fired and Charlie is disappointed by their
insecurity. When Charlie was on the same intellectual level as everyone around him he says that he
once looked up to them intellect people he once thought. Charlie s greatest leap towards

predators such as dogs or foxes from gaining entry to the enclosure.

Hip Hop Influence On African American Culture
Have you ever seen a group of boys dancing together with some exciting and cool musical beat? Hip

played on electronic instruments, originally played by young African Americans. The other meaning is
the culture of the young African Americans and others who enjoy this type of music which includes

During the 1970s, hip hop first emerged in the west Bronx, in New York City. Not only was it popular
among the African Americans, but it also had some influence on the Latin Americans in that area.
(What Is Hip Hop, n.d) Though hip hop has been shaped and redefined by many artists many times
since it was born, it came to life on a precise day in 1973 at a birthday party which was celebrated in
Bronx, in New York City. A boy who was known to history as DJ Kool Herc presided over this party.
He once noticed that people danced when they heard a special record. So he linked this behavior to the
drum beats. DJ Kool Herc came up with a new way to reverse the turntables and make them outwards
repeatedly between the two duplicates of the identical record, extending the short drum beat which
people wanted to hear most. This trick is known as the break beat . Later in this year, DJ Kool Herc
played this style of break beat at his sister s birthday party. (A+E Network, 2009) This party became
the first hip hop party which changed the world successfully with its social, musical and political
impacts on the world. (Laurence, 2014) So, DJ Kool Herc was the founding father of hip hop.
By the end of 1987, the Bronx became well known because it was the birthplace of hip hop.
Everything about hip hop in it seemed to be discussed heatedly. Under that circumstance, some people
tended to mix hip hop with

Persuasive Essay On Boxing
Boxing has elements to it that teaches you more about fighting than you think is possible. People who

the boxer.
All types of fighters from mixed martial arts should learn to box because they will benefit from it.

Speedy Reflexes are important in boxing. Boxing matches are faster paced than other fighting/combat
sports. The opponents are closer in proximity with both attacking and defending at the same time. You
don t hear the bell, walk out and walk around in boxing. You step out and start fighting. Sure, that s
great for hand to hand, but what about with weapons or kicking? The techniques used in boxing
improve your reaction time and reflexes, which helps you be faster when you need to be, and teaches
you how to use your hands when you re without a weapon or unable to kick.
2. Master the Art of Slickness by learning to box. You can master the art of slickness known as the
sweet science of boxing. Art + Efficiency = Slickness. That s the equation. Being slick helps you
overwhelm and shutdown your opponent. While it s a rare occurrence, slickness looks like a beat

The Hardest Pieces Of Meat
One of the hardest pieces of meat to cook is the Tri tip steak roast, because most are three pounds and
many tend to burn the outside of the meat while the middle is stone cold raw. I like my meat cooked to
a nice medium temperature, I feel the best way to cook a Tri tip steak is on an outdoor briquette
barbeque, anything other than this is just not doing this piece of meat any justice.
Let s start with the grocery store, to have the best meat that will melt in your mouth, always start with
a nice piece of raw beef. Meat is graded on a scale according to marbling effects. Nice Restaurants
only used USDA Prime. You and I can t buy Prime meat in the grocery store. The USDA grades meat,
and Prime is young, well fed cattle and has an abundant marbling. Most grocery stores can carry
USDA Choice meat, and this is my recommendation of what to buy; it is less marbling but is still very
tender and juicy. You have to be careful, some stores don t carry this and try to sell the lowest grade
which is USDA Select. Select is fairly less tender, less marbling , less on flavor and juiciness. Stay
away from USDA Select. Vons carries a nice USDA Choice meat, so I recommend it.
Seasoning the meat is a crucial element of this process. I like to bring my roast out of the refrigerator
and season it, letting it sit on the counter so it comes to room temperature, while my briquettes are
getting ready on the barbeque. Allowing the meat come fully up to temperature will help the meat

John Ernst Steinbeck was born in 1902 the third child of four to John and Olive Steinbeck. John Sr.
was an accountant that supported the family and Olive stayed home and took care of the children. The
Steinbeck Family lived in the Salinas Valley in Central California near the coast. We can see
throughout John s entire life the roots of his books and philosophy coming from the migrant farming
town on the coast of central California(BBC John). John s mother was very strict and made sure that
every kid in the household contributed and could keep the house in good condition. John grew up in
neither in wealth or poverty but his mother made sure the house was always in tip top shape. In
addition, every child was taught proper etiquette and the rules were always strictly enforced(Snyder).
John gained an interest in literature from a young age from his parents always having in depth
conversations that would stimulate deeper thought and having discussions were all arguments would
be dealt with lists of valid points and proof to back up. At the table Olive would many times play the
devil s advocate so everyone could divulge into what they believed in from simple community issues
to more philosophical thinking. At the age of 14, John first decided that he would become an
established author and he went after this goal for his entire life. In school, John was not part of the
popular cliche and was very stand offish(Harmon). Through highschool he was bullied often and it

The History Of The Term And Practice
The early history of the term and practice terrorism started in the first century with a group of Jewish
collaborators who, assassinated a Roman rule in the one of the province area. During the French
Revolution s Reign of Terror, Jocobin Club who ruled the state applied violence and mass execution to
compel submission to the state and intimidate regime enemies, this where the term terrorism was first
used by the English to describe the events. The practice and term of terrorism have changed over the

Terrorists who come from Muslim diasporas can be represented in three categories: converts to Islam,
second generation failed conformity and first generation migrants who no fit into their new society.
Some would believe that counter terrorism and immigration are linked to a point in society. The July
7, 2005 (7/7) London bombers were British born Muslims, focused greater attention on the Islamic
community. It was a series of coordinated terrorist suicide bomb attacks in central London. The effect
of the 7/7 bombing resulted in discriminating tensions and negatively impacted social structure, and
has resulted in an even greater degradation of race and religion relations in Britain than did the 9/11
attacks in the United States . The false information and the legitimizing stereotypes were the media s
doing. The events in the Middle East have provided the driving force for activism and recruitment.
The Dutch government s approach to counterterrorism is a law enforcement issue. And some policies
are aimed at preventing radicalization and other social problems . These approaches are being
conducted on a local level so, that multiple agencies and including Islamic organizations are involved
in the decision making. Some of these traits are related to the Department of Homeland Security
policies. The questions of race, religion, and ethnicity are disconnected the most in the United States

Movies Are The Power Of Movies In The World
You humans slaughter each other because of the color of your skin, or your faith, or your politics, or
for no reason at all, too many of you hate easily as you draw breath Magneto. This quote was once
said by the strongest villain in comic book history as he described humans in the war against Mutans.
Throughout the years comic books have become the beacon of hope civilization needed to overcome
the toughest of times. From the Civil war to Nuclear Warfare heroes were created for the purpose of
keeping children s happiness from fainting into darkness. Batman, Superman, Thor, Hulk and She
Thor were the beacon of light of my childhood and the reason why I dreamt about a better civilization.
Comic books have the power to make even famous of people realize how amazing they are as Nicolas
Cage described Are modern mythology, they reflect our fears, embody our ideals, and personalized
our culture. Our civilization has created movies, books, action figures and tv shows as they ingrained
comic books into our everyday culture. We identify heroes by their persona as we have become to
known Superman as the man of steel and Batman as the Dark Knight these characters have paved the
way for new beginnings, ideals that weren t imaginable at the time they were created.
Movies have the power to inspire us, create dreams but also change someone s views. I want you to
ask yourself why do movies inspire us? How can they make us believe in something that s not real?

The Metropolitan Museum of Art has works from artists known around the world for their beautiful
creations. My focus was on artists from Spain, two of which were Diego Velázquez and El Greco from
the seventeenth century. During the seventeenth century, many Spanish painters were getting
commissioned around the world to paint for monarchs. Diego Velazquez was born in Seville, Spain.
During his lifetime, he had visited Italy in search of artistic inspiration. Italy, which happened to be
very religious at the time, influenced Velazquez to include religion in many of his works, but those are

El Greco was born in Crete, Greece, where he mastered Byzantine, and also Post Byzantine, art, which
is similar to Diego Velazquez. El Greco, like Diego Velazquez, also portrays religion vastly in his
paintings such as works like Opening of the Fifth Seal (1609, El Greco). In this piece he has the
people portrayed in a way as if they would be calling out or reaching out to grab something or
someone. The naked individuals are prosecuted martyrs are said to be crying out to god for justice
upon their persecutors on Earth (Book of Revelation (6:9 11)). However, El Greco was focused mainly
on mannerism, that dominated Italy all throughout the sixteenth century. He learned mannerism when
he moved from Crete to Rome, and he also learned more about the Venetian Renaissance. Velazquez
and his works had nothing to do with mannerism. But nonetheless, both El Greco and Diego
Velazquez, due to their time spent in Italy, used Venetian colors: neutral, conservative shades of
greens, reds, blues, grays and yellows. Spanish artists tended to move around a lot during their era to
learn how to perfect their crafts, and Italy was a hub of their era for art. People were very critical of El
Greco because of his demeanor towards God and religion. Although his works tended to be focused on
religion, it was not in a very good way. He would put people on top of Christ in his paintings, which

  • 2. The Importance Of Performance At Carnegie Hall Every musician definitely dreams about one day performing at Carnegie Hall because it is one of the best concert halls all over world. Since it first built, it keeps providing good shows and performances to audience. According to this article, Carnegie Hall decides to add more events in the next couple years, and despite classical music events, they want to provide more modern musical events to audience. Also, in the next following years, they will more focus on education and try to bring more children and students get involved into live performances (Cooper, n.p.). • 3. Abraham Lincoln Despotism There is no reason in the world why the negro is not entitled to all the natural rights enumerated in the Declaration of Independence the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. I hold that he is as much entitled to these as the white man. ~Abraham Lincoln Abraham Lincoln (1809 1865) was born in Kentucky. He served as the 16th president of the United States during the Civil War era (a.k.a. The War Between the States). He eventually moved to Illinois, where he established a retiring law practice and served as a state legislator. He was elected to Congress in 1846, but did not seek a possible reelection. Lincoln was one of the very people who believed that America could be a great place to live, if everyone treated each other ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If one misuses the power that has been granted to him, it can lead to despotism. Slavery is an example of despotism; one can have dominion over another person. When Great Britain colonized and ruled over many countries long ago including the United States and India, it was an example of autocracy. Lincoln often spoke eloquently about the Declaration of Independence as the touchstone of American values, but contemporary social attitudes did as much as the principles of the founding to shape his views on racial relations. The main purpose of the Declaration of Independence written by Jefferson was to announce the colonies separation from England. It also stated the principles that were the foundation for seeking independence. In a speech criticizing the Dred Scott decision, Lincoln emphasized that the Declaration set a standard of universal equality for the benefit of future generations. He said that decision was based on assumed historical facts which were not really true; and I ought not to leave the subject without giving some reasons for saying this; I therefore give an instance or two, which I think fully sustain me. Chief Justice Taney [...] insists at great length that [Negroes] were no part of the people who made, or for whom was made, the Declaration of Independence, or the Constitution of the United States (Lincoln, Speech on the Dred Scott Decision in Springfield, Illinois). Lincoln noted Judge Curtis s opinion showing that in five of the thirteen original states, the freed Blacks were among the White people, who took part in the voting on the Constitution (Lincoln, Speech on the Dred Scott Decision in Springfield, Illinois). The judge made the following conclusion, while quoting from the US ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. West Nile Virus Case Study Before 1999, the West Nile Virus was unknown in the Western hemisphere. Since then, however, each summer has shown it moving progressively across the United States starting in New York. Such recurrent and steady movement means that the virus is here to stay. Transmitted by the bite of infected mosquitoes, the disease causes encephalitis, which is inflammation of the brain. Although most cases are relatively mild and include symptoms like a fever and skin rash, those with more severe cases can exhibit convulsions, muscle weakness, and paralysis. Some cases even prove fatal. There is no specific treatment for the virus, with most therapy coming under hospital oversight. In working to prevent the disease, several areas have taken to spraying against mosquitoes and recommended the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... WNV has a broad host range and can infect humans, birds, mosquitoes, horses and some other mammals (Pommerville, 2014). The most effective way to avoid West Nile virus disease is to prevent mosquito bites. Be aware of the West Nile virus activity in your area and take action to protect yourself and your family (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention [CDC], 2016). Repellents containing DEET, picaridin, IR3535, and some oil of lemon eucalyptus and para menthane diol products provide longer lasting protection. To optimize safety and effectiveness, repellents should be used according to the label instructions (CDC, 2016). Don t apply repellents containing permethrin directly to skin. Do not spray repellent on the skin under your clothing. Install or repair screens on windows and doors to keep mosquitoes outside. Use your air conditioning, if you have it (CDC, 2016). A progress report on an actof this kind would be made by the California Board of Corrections on January 1, 1997 and annually thereafter to selected legislative committees. III. Informatives A. quot;It seems clear that the California Legislature has determined that incarceration is not appropriate for many criminal offenses and that alternative sanctions are preferable for non violent offenders. quot; (Randy Meyer, Political Official) B. But while this approach is to be applauded, its spreading prevents the fulfillment of its true potential. C. quot;By retaining those non violent offenders that are currently in state prison and continuing to pursue defensive punishment at the local level in the form of short term quot;shock incarceration quot; and bootcamps, the costly and ineffective methods of criminal behavior correction remain intact. quot; (Charles Calderon US News) D. By immediately eliminating incarceration for all non violent offenses and requiring victim compensation and community service, resources can be committed to preventing crime rather than to the feeding and housing of offenders. E. This is consistent with the findings of the legislature and is cost efficient, requires minimal systemic change, and increases public safety and security.

Death Of A Salesman Character Analysis Essay In the very first part of Act I of the play Death of a Salesman , the reader gets to know the main characters of the play, especially how they behave, their personality and, even if very implicitly, the writer makes some of the character s feelings to transpire. Therefore, Willy, which is old and very dreamy, can be considered as the character whose everything turns around him and, even if at first he seems very grumpy, the reader, later on in the play, gets to know that he is very affectionate to his family. In this first part of the first Act, Willy comes back home and, during a conversation with his wife, he confesses to having smashed the car again because he was busy admiring the landscapes. Biff, instead, is very happy and proud of what he is doing, however by working in a farm he disappointed most of the people he knows that wanted him to be a businessman, Willy included. Therefore, the main theme developed in this first part of the first Act of the play is prototyping, which is totally understandable and normal for the period the play is settled in, that is the American Dream. Consequently, every single character in this first part of Death of a Salesman , finds himself to fight against the prototypes that the society, during those years, was trying to impose to them. This theme is clearly expressed by the characters of Happy and Biff, and at times by Willy as well: they are all trying to be happy themselves, but at the same time to respect and satisfy what the society whats them to be, and so, therefore, to be the prototype of a young American man living during the era of the American dream. Happy, for example, during a talk he has with his brother, express all his disappointment in seeing that he is exactly what everyone wants and expects him to be, however, even if he almost incarnates the ... • 8. Essay On Cyber Espionage In China The 2015 agreement between the United States and China concerning economic espionage has been viewed with both optimism and skepticism. It s the first agreement of any substance on the issue, which is a hopeful sign. China doesn t enjoy a reputation of carefully adhering to international agreements and there is doubt about whether the agreement will have any practical effect on China s behavior. Since the early 2000s, cyber espionage issues have increasingly strained U.S. China relations. All countries engage in espionage, but China is one of the largest and most persistent perpetrators (as is, to be fair, the United States). In 2010, suspected Chinese cyber activities started to become a regular topic of discussion inside the U.S. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... China blames a Cold War mentality for the United States characterizing China as the miscreant. As Xi Jinping put it in September 2015, The Cold War has long ended. [China and the U.S.] should make joint efforts to build a new model of major country relations between two countries, and realize non conflict, non confrontation, mutual respect, and cooperation. The differing approaches to cyberspace use and government also reflect, to some extent, the larger world views of the U.S. and China. The United States values freedom of expression and self determination. It seeks to increase these freedoms in its international interactions and believes the free flow of information over the internet is the key to strategic and diplomatic success. The U.S. also has a strong commitment to privacy (although not as strong as the European Union, which recently invalidated the U.S. EU data transfer agreement because it provided insufficient protections for EU citizens). The activities of government agencies like the National Security Agency (NSA) in cyberspace has generated lively debate in the U.S. regarding how best to balance privacy and national security. Most recently, Congress eliminated the NSA s bulk phone records collection program, replacing it with a constrained measure designed to keep the records in phone companies hands. The internal, on going privacy debate influences U.S. policies across the board, but especially with regard to cyber activities. China, meanwhile, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. Reflection On Dreaming And Consciousness The Robert Berezin M.D. author of the article Reflections On Dreaming and Consciousness discusses what we are dreaming when we are sleeping and how they operate when we are sleeping. In the article, he claims that during sleep our muscle goes to rest and all the waste products of muscle activity eliminated. The author supports most dreams are emotional conflicts and in my dreams are emotional conflicts, when I dream about the pain, the dreams help me to settle down my emotion because I took an action against pain in my dream. The author describes that people address conflict through the dreams such as pain, hopes, sexual interest. I strongly agree with him because whenever I face conflicts, the dreams help me to settle down my emotion because I took an action against conflicts in my dream and this make me feel better. The authors mention that we do not fully remember our dreams. I think the reasons people do not remember their dreams because I believe a dream is a fantasy world, dreams are not turning out as an actual real life event. Whatever we do throughout the day and whatever consequences we face throughout the day converted into a story and we saw that image in our dreams, in fact, the dreams do not solve problems in our life, when we dream about addressing the problem we wish we could solve the problem this way. So, the dreams are kind of useless in our life, therefore, most people forget about their dreams and they only remember tiny portions. My textbook says about the dreams is our dream simply reflect life events that are important to the people. In the textbook, famous scientist Freud classified dreams as a two categorized such as manifest content and latent content. The manifest content is our important events convert into a storyline and we see the visual image, on the other hand, latent content is a hidden meaning of the dream. The psychologists also discover lucid dreams and this dream are slightly different than a regular dream because a person is conscious when they are dreaming also the dreamer control the content of the dreams. Later, Richard Heynes decided to produce the movie in 1968 properly called Charly . There are both similarities and differences between the two. However, the differences play a more crucial role between the two rather then the similarities. One major difference between the movie and book is the events that took place. One example is when Charly met Fay. This never happened in the movie. But in the movie, when he met her he let all of his inner feeling out into the open and had a great time. One example is Alice Kinnian. In the story, she is depicted as a quiet, non aggressive person, but in the movie she is very much the opposite in character. For one, she never really made a move towards Charly, however, in the movie, she is the more aggressive between the two. Also, towards the end of the movie, Alice asked Charly to marry her and that never even happened in the novel at all. Charly is another character who is given different traits and actions in the movie then the book. In the book, he is a kind, warm hearted man who couldn t harm a fly. Believe it or not in the movie Charly tried to sexually assault Alice. In the book he never ever would have tried to do such a horrible thing to Alice. Also, he got very upset when he found out that he failed one of the tests given to him at the laboratory. He could have cared less if he failed in the book. The importance attached to work has been quite a popular topic in social science and management. Theory and research on work values proceed largely from the premise that work values are derived from people s basic value system that help them navigate through the multiple spheres of their lives. • 14. The Origin Of Inequality In Society Inequality is the result of the formation of a society. In the treatise, Discourse on the Origin of Inequality, Rousseau analyzes the important factors that develop inequality through human s natural instincts in a society. A society is a group of individuals who leave the state of nature to achieve a common goal under the rule of a higher power. In this case, society s common goal is to advance from their primitive state of nature to preserve their property. Throughout society s creation, self preservation, natural talents, and jealousy become important influences on the development of inequality. Self preservation is one of the many elements that kindle inequality. According to Rousseau, man s first concern was that of his preservation (Rousseau 44), therefore self preservation exists in the state of nature before the establishment of society. Over time, the exercise of self preservation eventually leads to the creation of society, which results in the creation of inequality. For instance, Rousseau claims, The first person who, having enclosed a plot of land, took it into his head to say this is mine and found people simple enough to believe him, was the true founder of civil society. (44) This act of self preservation fabricates society and consequently, steers men to the evolving of inequality. Property determines wealth which establishes a social hierarchy, therefore creating a system of inequality. The level of equality begins to shift when men preserve what belongs to him, [(the man who claims the land)], without explaining what they mean by belonging. (17) Men start to transfer authority over to whom they believe is stronger , while the weaker men are under the rule of the magistrate. This new idea of regulation and superiority is what constructs the beginning of inequality. Men are naturally selfish and care largely about their own private interests. For instance, Rousseau says, ... if a hare happened to pass within reach of [a man], no doubt he would have pursued his prey, he cared very little about causing his companions to miss theirs. (47). This act of greed gives up the opportunity for another man to obtain the hare, and it is therefore a cause for inequality. Furthermore, The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

What Were The Main Problems With The Articles Of 1787 The Articles of Confederation, ratified on March 1, 1781, created the structure for the confederation of the 13 colonies that fought in the American Revolution. It set up a federal government with very limited powers, and it gave most of the power to the 13 states. Within a short period of time, the Constitution of 1787 was ratified to solve the problems that the Articles of Confederation did not address. The Articles of Confederation had major problems, caused by the fear of a distant national government, which would get solved six years later in the Constitution. One main problem with the Articles of Confederation was a weak national government, where Congress did not have the power to levy taxes. In Article 8 of the Articles of Confederation, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This was a major problem because even though Congress was the only component of government, they did not have the power to force the states to do anything. The government was unable to force or interpret laws. In the Articles of Confederation, Article 2 states, Each state retains its sovereignty, freedom, and independence, and every power, jurisdiction, and right, which is not by this Confederation expressly delegated to the United States, in Congress assembled (Articles of Confederation, Article II). This declares that each state can keep their jurisdiction, which meant that each state has its own power to regulate their own laws. Moreover, any rights and powers that are not given to Congress by the Articles of Confederation are kept by the state. Since the government did not have an executive branch, there was no one to enforce the laws created by Congress. Theoretically, Congress could raise an army, but they could not force any states to send people to go to war or force the states to give them any equipment necessary for the war. This shows how little power Congress actually had under the Articles of Confederation. It portrays a future America where books are banned and firemen burn any that are reported and found. Bradbury uses many symbols in this book. Symbolism is portrayed throughout the novel with the hearth and the salamander, the sieve and the sand, and fire. The Hearth and the Salamander is the title of part one. The firemen wear salamanders on the arms of their uniform (Bradbury 6). They also refer to their firetrucks as salamanders (Bradbury 121). Both hearths and salamanders can be connected with fires. Hearths are similar to fireplaces, and can traditionally be found in the heart of homes and can be the source of warmth. • 19. The Deforestation Of The Amazons Deforestation The Amazons Deforestation Have your eyes ever set on a barren land where even technology can t reverse the damage we have caused? We care mostly for the present, but we must never forget to see to the future and in this case the deforestation of the Amazons. Deforestation is considered the second largest anthropogenic source of carbon dioxide to the atmosphere (Song et al. 2). Each day we are wiping out miles of trees from one of our most diverse ecosystems in the planet, and one of our largest lungs in the world. At our rate of destruction of the rainforest, we would have inflicted in our future a great disservice, as the trees cut down would no longer give us clean air and more CO2 would pollute our air. CO2 can have a negative impact on our health. As we breathe in this air, it can lead to lung cancer and other diseases. By destroying the Amazon ecosystem we could drive many exclusive species that only live in the Amazon to extinction. Will we know the harm we have caused right away? Probably not, but we will definitely find out sooner rather than later. The cause of the Amazon deforestation is due to our need for wood to stay warm, and for developing countries to use it for fuel. Our top priority in conserving the Amazons is the unforeseen environmental impact that can be caused to our planet and to us. Tropical deforestation also has other negative externalities, such as the loss of biodiversity, erosion, floods, and lowered water levels (Jusys). Every day we ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Hardest Pieces Of Meat One of the hardest pieces of meat to cook is the Tri tip steak roast, because most are three pounds and many tend to burn the outside of the meat while the middle is stone cold raw. I like my meat cooked to a nice medium temperature, I feel the best way to cook a Tri tip steak is on an outdoor briquette barbeque, anything other than this is just not doing this piece of meat any justice. Let s start with the grocery store, to have the best meat that will melt in your mouth, always start with a nice piece of raw beef. Meat is graded on a scale according to marbling effects. Nice Restaurants only used USDA Prime. You and I can t buy Prime meat in the grocery store. The USDA grades meat, and Prime is young, well fed cattle and has an abundant marbling. Most grocery stores can carry USDA Choice meat, and this is my recommendation of what to buy; it is less marbling but is still very tender and juicy. You have to be careful, some stores don t carry this and try to sell the lowest grade which is USDA Select. Select is fairly less tender, less marbling , less on flavor and juiciness. Stay away from USDA Select. Vons carries a nice USDA Choice meat, so I recommend it. Seasoning the meat is a crucial element of this process. I like to bring my roast out of the refrigerator and season it, letting it sit on the counter so it comes to room temperature, while my briquettes are getting ready on the barbeque. Allowing the meat come fully up to temperature will help the meat ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

My focus was on artists from Spain, two of which were Diego Velázquez and El Greco from the seventeenth century. During the seventeenth century, many Spanish painters were getting commissioned around the world to paint for monarchs. Diego Velazquez was born in Seville, Spain. During his lifetime, he had visited Italy in search of artistic inspiration. Italy, which happened to be very religious at the time, influenced Velazquez to include religion in many of his works, but those are showcased in different parts of the world, not at the Met. El Greco, like Diego Velazquez, also portrays religion vastly in his paintings such as works like Opening of the Fifth Seal (1609, El Greco). In this piece he has the people portrayed in a way as if they would be calling out or reaching out to grab something or someone. The naked individuals are prosecuted martyrs are said to be crying out to god for justice upon their persecutors on Earth (Book of Revelation (6:9 11)). However, El Greco was focused mainly on mannerism, that dominated Italy all throughout the sixteenth century. He learned mannerism when he moved from Crete to Rome, and he also learned more about the Venetian Renaissance. Velazquez and his works had nothing to do with mannerism. But nonetheless, both El Greco and Diego Velazquez, due to their time spent in Italy, used Venetian colors: neutral, conservative shades of greens, reds, blues, grays and yellows. Spanish artists tended to move around a lot during their era to learn how to perfect their crafts, and Italy was a hub of their era for art. People were very critical of El Greco because of his demeanor towards God and religion. Although his works tended to be focused on religion, it was not in a very good way.
