The Effect of Stress on Health
The Effect of Stress on Health
Introduction
Stress is a common phenomenon that affects people in some way (Barringer Orbuch, 2013).
However, the level of stress varies from mild to acute stress. Research has shown concrete evidence
on the impact of stress on physical and emotional health of humans. This works explore the
contribution of stress on health status.

Statement of Purpose
The purpose of this study is to highlight the depth to which stress affects physical and emotional
health of an individual.
Specific Research Methods

Excessive release of this chemical leads to sleeplessness that affects normal human cycle. This
contributes immensely to regular and sustained burnouts due to sleep deprivation (Seib, Whiteside,
Humphrey, Lee, Thomas, Chopin, ... Anderson, 2014). Additionally, catecholamines affect the
frontal region of the brain, which is instrumental in short term and long term memories (King,
Lloyd Holewa, 2008). This leads to poor memory and retention capacity. Acute stress tends to have a
long term mental health impact that affects multiple regions.
The second response mechanism towards stress is by the heart, circulatory system and the lungs
(Seib et al., 2014; Wells, 2013). Uncontrolled release of metabolic signals leads to poor digestion
and absorption of bear. As the concentration of bear increases, the heart beat increases to try and
distribute the concentration of bear to other parts of the body, which leads to an increase in blood
pressure (Seib et al., 2014; Wells, 2013). To country oxygen demand, the breathing system
suddenly increases as the lungs take in as much oxygen as they possibly can to satisfy its shortage
in the blood stream (Wells, 2013). On the other hand, the spleen increases discharge of white and
red blood cells to ensure that more blood cells are available to transport excess oxygen throughout
the circulatory system. Research has

The profession of human service uses an enormous quantify of information to conduct test in the
process of service delivery. The data assembled goes to a panel of assessment when deciding the
option that will best fit the interest of the population, or the experiment idea in question. The
content of this paper will define, and describe the different types of reliability, and validity. In
addition display examples of data collection method and instrument used in human services, and
managerial research (UOPX, 2013).

Reliability is described as the degree to which a survey, test, instrument, observation, or

A high quality test will mainly deal with these issues and provide somewhat minimal difference. In
contrast a changeable test is extremely susceptible to these issues and will provide unstable ending.
Validity
Validity is the degree to which the test measures what it is set out to measure (Reshow amp;
Rosenthal, 2008).The types of validity includes construct, content, convergent or discriminant,
criterion, external, face, internal, and statistical (Rosenthal amp; Rosnow, 2008, p. 125). It is
important to distinguish the validity of the research outcome because it cannot contain any room
for error, nor pending variable without an applicable explanation. Validity is not verified by a
statistic; rather by a uniform of examiner that reflects exemplify knowledge, and relationship
among the test, and the performance it is projected to measure. Therefore, it is important for a test
to be applicable in order for the product to securely, and correctly apply, and translated.
Construct validity is the extent to which suggestion can be made from a broad view standpoint
lining ideas to observations in the research to the hypothesis on which those ideas are based.
Content validity reflect on a personal pattern of measurement because it transmit on people s insight
for measuring hypothesis, which is complicated to measure if the test to retest type was to
performed. Convergent is the degree

Essay on Working Class
This article entitled The Honest Workingman and Workers Control: The Experience of Toronto
Skilled Workers, 1860 1892 written by Gregory S. Kealey looks to better describe the practice of
three Toronto unions from the 1860 s to the early 1890 s and their struggles for their rights and
deserved wages in order to illustrate the strength these types of unions possess. This article
recognizes that there are industries where unions win, and still must rely on skilled labour. Many
times people hear the term industrialization and think that all craft workers get blown away,
however this is not exactly the case as this article demonstrates. Kealey looks at three separate cases
in three separate industries to identify the significant variations... Show more content on

Labour unions played a great role in the battle between the capitalist world and the labourers who
wanted their rights to stay intact. In the Toronto moulding department, the union s claim to control
was the central issue being discussed. Many attempts at strikes were mentioned resulting in major
struggles for the working class. Eventually, there industry wide agreements in stove foundries, but
until this the strength of the moulders depended solely on their skill and control of the work
process through their union. The Iron Moulders differed from the Coopers in that they
maintained a high level of workplace control into the twentieth century. This was mainly due to
the strength of their organization, but also relied on the slower introduction of machinery to
replace physical workers in this industry, and therefore the workers had time to perfect their craft
before the machines arrived.(Kealey, 1976) The third, and probably most supportive case given
by Kealey is that of the Toronto printer s industry and union, with their control of the shop floor
demonstrating early union power. These printers had a very strong tradition of craft pride and
identified well with their work. It was obvious that you had to be literate to be involved in
printing, and therefore these printing trades were very exclusive, and to belong you needed to
show a great deal of intelligence and knowledge. Because of this, printers in these

Perfect Steak Research Paper
Once you ve found your grill of choice from a grill store Dallas TX, how do you get the perfect
steak? That s a question that has eluded even the most dedicated grill warriors for a long time
but you can offer up a perfect steak to your guests just like any chef would. In part one of our
steak series, we ll show you some contrasting opinions on one facet of perfect steak preparation:
do you bring the steak to room temperature or not? Grill Store Dallas TX: Chefs Don t Agree on
the Room Temperature Axiom Many people grab the steak out of the fridge, shake some salt on it,
and toss it on the grill. Others are careful to let their steaks come to room temperature this can take

He suggests taking the steaks out of the refrigerator half an hour before grilling. In that case, you
had better plan ahead. On the other hand, ABC News quoted chef Michael Lomonaco as saying
that room temperature steaks cook far too quickly. When you cook with a room temperature
steak, it cooks much faster, said Lomonaco, according to ABC. Cooking with cold steaks allows
you to control the temperature more, resulting in a perfectly cooked steak. Patio Gas Grills
Dallas: Here Is the Solution The end goal, a perfectly grilled steak, is the same, regardless of
your feelings on the room temperature theory. The next time this conversation arises at a grill
store Dallas TX, just mention that the temperature of the grill, not the temperature of the steak, is
more important when you re getting started. Chef Walzog recommends letting your grill remain
closed for up to five full minutes after the coals have reached a proper heat level (when the coals
are almost white). Placing your steaks on the grill after it has had a chance to reach this level of
heat results in beautifully charred exterior without over cooking the inside. Up next on the grill

The Movie The Spotlight
Leadership in the Spotlight
Lights, Camera, Action! Everybody knows and loves Noah and Allie. All you have to say is
their names or quote one line, If you re a bird, I m a bird, and the shrieking girls go OH MY
GOD! I love the Notebook! The whole movie is about their love. Nobody who s seen the movie
would fail to know the names of these lead characters, but most of them could not tell you the
name of Noah s best friend or the name of Allies cousin whom she s visiting. These characters
are crucial to the story and an important part of these characters lives and back ground for the
movies purpose, but most people fail to see here significance. The same goes for a leader or
leadership position. It s easy to see the people in the spotlight, front and center, but it s when you
finally look in the shadows that you realize more is happening than what you saw at first glance.
This topic, of leadership appears in William James article, The Social Value of the College Bred,
which features a topic in which he expresses college students using their education and experience
to seek out, good leaders arguing that a college education teaches graduates to know good men
when they seem them, which in turn allows them to help build a stronger democracy. James begins
his article by expressing what people could gain from college and technical schools. He explains
that student s experiences in college institutions has the ability to teach a person how to tell when a

Flight 403 Research Paper
Last call for flight 403, flight 403. My trip started off with a sprint to our gate. My aunt, cousins,
and I made it to our plane as they were closing the doors. Thank God we were all runners because
if we would have made it there a few seconds later, we would have missed our flight. I sat next to
my cousin, Nicole, and we were about to fly into an unforgettable trip.
My aunt, cousins, and I were going to Colorado! We met my Aunt Charlene s boyfriend, Mike, at
the airport in Colorado. We went to his parent s house to stay for the night, We played with their

took us to the start of the hikes and takes us back to the lobby area. It was about a nine mile
drive. At the beginning of the hike, you get an option of whether you want to take the scenery
hike or the crater hike. Of course, Mike makes us go through the crater one. We had to hike up
that mountain filled with huge rocks and streams. It was one of the hardest things to do in my
life because not only was I tripping over the rocks and branches, but there were giant poisonous
spiders hiding everywhere. It took us about an hour and thirty minutes to reach the top. We lost
track of time and we had to get back to the bus in 40 minutes or else it will leave without us and
we would have to walk 9 miles back to the car. We practically ran down that mountain. Of course,
my little cousin trips from behind me and we slid into the stream. I am not going to lie, that cold
water felt really good, but we were soaked. I ran the rest of the way down with heavy, squishy
shoes. I did not think it was possible to run that fast for so long, but somehow we mastered

The Morality of Managed Care Essay
The Morality of Managed Care
The preservation of health is a duty according to Herbert Spencer, an English philosopher
(Andrews, 1993). Managed care conglomerates provide health coverage for increasing numbers of
Americans. Many critics question whether these businesses provide care dutifully. At the very least,
the present managed care system requires health care providers and recipients to reexamine
established principles underling physician patient interaction. Although health maintenance
organizations are commonly misunderstood, Americans hope these institutions will dampen
runaway health care expenditures. Since HMO s are increasing in number, health care recipients
need to examine how established, ethical principles in America ... Show more content on

Unlike fee for service reimbursement which was normative previous to managed care, HMO s
usually pay doctors and hospitals massive sums up front. These payments are arranged per diem,
by capitation, or sometimes by fixed salary. Many critics of managed care believe that these
compensation packages are immoral.
What Health Care Is Now
In order to ascertain the merit of managed health care, ethical presuppositions guiding our health
care system require consideration. In the United States, four main principles undergird the way
health care is practiced. These principles are: beneficence, nommaleficence, autonomy and justice.
Beneficence is the obligation of health care providers to render help to people in need. Just as
health care workers are called to provide care, they also have a duty to do no harm. This principle
is commonly called nonmaleficence. At times, the possibility of doing good may result in injury.
Therefore, the principle of beneficence and nonmaleficence do not always concur. Thirdly, the
principle of autonomy allows patients to make choices regarding their health care. In other words,
health care providers should allow patients to make the final decision regarding their treatment plan.
Finally, justice refers to the ethical concept of treating everyone in a

Introduction:
Biomolecules are present in every living organism. Larger biomolecules (macromolecules)
consists of proteins, lipids, and carbohydrates. In layman s terms, proteins are long chains of
amino acids that have many functions such as, providing structural support and regulating many
body processes. Lipids are the scientific term used for fats. There are many different types of fats,
but they all share one common characteristic: They are not soluble in water. Lipids provide
protection and insulation to organs and also act as an energy source. Carbohydrates are made up of
carbon, hydrogen, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, the results of the experiment failed to support that peanuts would test negative for
starches. Peanuts in fact, tested positive for starch. This suggests that the Nutrition Facts label on
food items is a good indicator of what foods may contain, but is not completely accurate in
determining what biomolecules are in a food substance.

The Perfect Catch
Yet again, I have the joy of introducing my readers to a delightful new Hallmark author, Cassidy
Carter. Recently, her book The Perfect Catch, was published in both ebook and print form, and I
not only had the joy of reading the book, but I got to interview this special lady. While I was
already quite familiar with the movie and the stellar cast, it was sheer delight to savor every
moment of this novelization. I am quite honored to share both my review and my interview with
everyone today.
RH: Why did you decide to become a writer? What kind of training have you had for writing?
CC: I have been a voracious reader since I was very young, and I ve written for as long as I can
remember. I had notebooks filled with handwritten stuff all through high school. I ve always
been a romance fan as well, so publishing in the genre seemed like a natural choice for me. I ve

New research on consumer experiences also emphasizes the importance of embodiment. Pham et al.
(2001), for instance, state that consumer assessments are often based on both feelings and reason
and that one or the other becomes more prominent depending on the context. They argue that
feelings play a central role in consumer decision making and merit serious investigation, which, for
this study, means that intertwining mind and body is crucial for creating an unforgettable
consumer experience. The effort afoot to restore embodied realism to social scientific inquiry
(Johnson 1999; Lakoff and Johnson 1999) has generated some of the most exciting research into
consumer behavior. In this article, we address the links between embodiment and consumer

Planet Of Viruses
In the book A Planet of Viruses, Carl Zimmer talks about viruses and how they have evolved in our
earth. Throughout the book, he explains how viruses developed to dominate the outcomes of our
health by constantly producing and spreading new diseases across species. New diseases are
formed by viruses through mutation and reassortment. Zimmer explains that reassortment allows
flu viruses to mix genes together, into new combinations (Zimmer, 18). At first, Zimmer explains
how the word Virus had a different meaning in the beginning and had changed to acquire the
meaning it is now. He then talks in each chapter about various viruses such as, HIV, swine flu, small
pox and many other. He discusses about their impact on our environment, and how they originated.
Viruses spread by animals, air or even mosquitos. This book also shows how the viruses are
becoming more and more resilient to antibiotics, which controls the environment, our fate and the
aspects of health.
Carl Zimmer is a journalist, writer and popular speaker at universities, medical schools and other
significant places. He has written over a hundred articles for the New York Times and he also
has a column called The Matter that is published every week. He writes books, articles, essays

Power In Animal Farm By George Orwell And Vladimir Stalin
The Russian government is one of constant ideological change, from the October Revolutionist
Lenin to the extreme values of Josef Stalin. It can be argued that power always corrupts, as seen in
the character Napoleon from Animal Farm by George Orwell and Vladimir Putin with their
characteristics of corruption, centralizing government to suit their own needs, and the use of fear to
keep their power.
To begin, we will elaborate on corruption. In the beginning of the novel, the animals on Animal
Farm conspire on a list of commandments. One of these commandments states, All animals are
equal (Orwell 25). This means that all animals, whether they are a cow, pig, bird, or horse, are
equal. But, as the chapters go on, the pigs increasingly gain power, due to Napoleon being the
leader of Animal Farm. The more power they gain, the less they work and contribute to the farm.
The pigs did not actually work, but directed and supervised the others. With their superior
knowledge, it was natural that they should assume the leadership (Orwell Ch. 3). This provides
evidence that they did not work, rather bossed the animals around in the thought that they were
superior. This directly relates back to Mr. Putin. Countless articles and trustworthy sources have
reported him as being deeply corrupt . The New York Times states, The commonplace explanation
in the Western media is that Mr. Putin himself is deeply corrupt indeed, that he sits at the epicenter
of Russia s corrupt edifice

Mixed Ability Research Paper
Ability setting and mixed ability classes In 2006 the Department for Education and Skills (DfES)
published a document to serve as guidance for schools across the UK about the benefits of
grouping and setting according to age and ability, for teachers and for students (DfES, 2006). The
never ending search for strategies to attain better results lead policy makers in the UK to continue
the promotion of setting pupils by ability, despite research suggesting no consistent evidence that
structured ability groupingwill produce positive effects on attainment on any particular group of
pupils (Hallam Ireson, 2005). Nonetheless, research suggests that it may have negative effects on

Research also suggests that teachers tend to feel the pressure of government guidance s and school s
ethos and policies as an important force in determining their beliefs (Hallam Ireson, 2003), but their
attitudes towards teaching seem to be mostly influenced by their experience in their subjects with
their classes (Hallam Ireson, 2003; Hallam Ireson, 2005; Kutnick, Blatchford, Clark, MacIntyre,
Baines, 2005). The government guidance acknowledges that setting doesn t guarantee full
homogeneity within the groups and therefore differentiation is still necessary in lessons, as they
need to be tailored specifically to their profile and allow the implementation of strategies that able
pupils to be stretched in their different capacities (DfES, 2006). Nevertheless, intelligent use of
group setting would allow teachers to plan with more confidence, allocate resources like teaching
assistants to more demanding groups (DfES, 2006), and differentiate their approach to different
groups. The main argument in favor of setting pupils by ability tends to be that more able pupils
need some form of separate grouping and an environment where they can freely be stretched to the
maximum of their potential without feeling inhibited by their peers (Hallam Ireson, 2003; Hallam
Ireson, 2005; Hallam, Rogers, Ireson, 2008). Most research supports this argument and there is an
overall agreement amongst teachers in the studies that

Judith Beheading Holofernes Analysis
Conflict and Art: Renaissance to Modern Day The three works selected in this paper are: Judith
Beheading Holofernes, The Death of Lucretia, and Le Dejeuner Sur I herbe. Each artwork comes
from a different era; the three eras being Baroque, Neoclassical, and Modernism.
Judith Beheading Holofernes is a painting by Artermisa Gentileschi during the Baroque era of art in
Italia. This painting is her visual of a scene told in The Book of Judith. In the scene Judith has
gained access to Holofernes s tent and he later passes out from being intoxicated giving Judith
the advantage to be able to decapitate him in turn saving her home land (Buckley, Peter J., M.D.
American Journal of Psychiatry). This painting shows the conflict men bring on to the countries
without a thought on their actions. Judith took control of the situation by getting rid of
Holofernes but by her look. It shows how a man can easily be fooled by a women s looks that he

Social Media Addiction
We are certainly no strangers about social media, but do we know everything about it? Social
media are internet based technologies notably created on computer web based sites and mobile
apps platform, that facilitate the creation and sharing of information via virtual networks.
Through social networking we generate contents such as text post, digital photos and even
videos. It connects a user s profile with those of other individuals or groups. Social media has
rapidly altered our traditional understanding of relationships and personal information, making it
difficult for users to fully comprehend the consequences of a world where individuals can be
isolated everywhere they are in a group and where the private is also public. Social networking
has turned the world into a small but global village. Now it s easy to connect with people from
all over the world, people from Far East like China can interact with others from the United
States in real time virtually. Platforms like Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and many more are the
mean of social networking; however social media developed an addiction and overuse that caused
unwanted distraction from reality and social life with people. Once it was a healthy escape from
life s problem. Now it s a problem to life itself, at least people life relationships. Social networking

to my special place all the time when I was little and it had a rope swing inside and I use too sit

same old sanddunes near the beach with big trees and bushes that have grown a little. But other
than that, it s still my favourite beach I remember and have grown up with for the past 17 years.
I made an adventure out of my special place as I was the only one that knew where it was and
my dad and I were the ones that put the rope in and made it into a swing for me. My mum use to
make me sandwiches and I use to spend half the day there either with my dad and mum or a friend.
For as long as I can remember, the rope swing has gradually started to disintegrate and not able to
use it anymore and the grass land has grown that tall you can t see the bottom of the rope. I use too

Invisible Man Conflict
Highlighting a major theme or conflict in Ralph Ellison s Invisible Man is a very difficult
challenge because there are so many issues that occur in the novel. However, one of the
important problems addressed is the conflict is self identify due to the lack of visibility as it
relates to the main character. In questioning one s visibility, you must begin by understanding your
own self identity and existence. Ellison uses the main character to explore the many social
problems that were a direct reflection of African Americans post civil war, and reconstructive era.
The social climate that the narrator faces in discovering his self identity and visibility is told
through several stages in his life. As the narrator struggles to arrive at a conclusion... Show more

The Health Facility Tours During Austria
The health facility tours in Austria were conducted at two hospitals, Barmherzige Bruder in
Salzburg and tirol kliniken s central hospital in Innsbruck. Barmherzige Bruder is a hospital based
in a monastery. Tirol kliniken s central hospital is part of a larger hospital system serving the Tirol
region of Austria. Both hospitals resembled U.S. hospitals physically; but, both hospitals had a
cleaner feel. The hospitals were quieter than then ones I ve been in the U.S. Less people were in
the common spaces.
Like some of the U.S. s university based teaching hospitals, tirol kliniken s hospital in Innsbruck is
associated with a University. The University hospital had spacious patient rooms in the neurology
department and many rooms appeared empty. A pneumatic tube delivery system delivered mail and
other things to different department s including samples to the central lab. The emergency room
was set up with two distinct units. One unit handled injuries involving blood and did not have any
rooms. This unit triaged individuals behind curtains and moved the patient to the part of the
hospital best equipped to deal with their condition. The second unit handled all other illnesses and
had six beds. Finally, we were able to tour the heliport. Due to the rural and mountainous
conditions, helicopters are placed strategically in the Tirol region where accidents are likely to
occur and other vehicles can t gain access. The helicopters are staffed with one doctor and

Tet Offensive
The Vietnam war was started and lasts until 1968 when the Vietnamese launched their Tet
Offensive. The Tet Offensive was a surprise for the United States because at that time we didn t
think any country would be able to surprise attack us like the Tet Offensive did. The Tet offensive
was one of the largest military campaigns of this war, it was built of over 80,000 communist troops
all coming together to all attack the United States hoping in return, we would end the war.
On January 31, 1968, thousands of North Vietnamese forces launched the Tet Offensive, originally
named for the lunar new year holiday called Tet. Many large attacks on more than 100 cities and

Although the Tet Offensive did not have incredibly huge problems in South Vietnamas the leader
expected, it made a major impact in the United States. It turned out to be a rather good result for
Vietnam because the American public opinion against the war had us thinking that we should
not be supporting the war. According to encyclopedia even if the offensive did not bring
immediate victory, the Communists calculated it would allow rural forces to disrupt the
pacification program, destroy the American illusion of success ( Paragraph 2 )The Tet Offensive
proved to be a good success but also very tragic. More than 200,000 troops were sent to be a part
of Tet Offensive. The War finally ends on February 22nd 1968. It resulted in thousands of deaths,
and an ending that neither side was happy about. The United States and Vietnam both didn t win

Stress is a common theme in my life. I have to admit that, for me, personally, it has become a
chronic condition. Recently, I have finally made the step of realizing that stress is the evil dictator
ruling a vicious cycle. A revolution is necessary:
Stress is something we have all experienced at some point in our lives. From a biological
perspective, stress is a phenomenon that occurs when we experience circumstances that disturb our
physical and mental equilibrium. These circumstances, which are referred to as stressors, include
heavy workloads, relationship problems, illnesses or upcoming, life changing events such as
weddings, divorces or childbirth. Stress is naturally occurring and can even be helpful in certain
situations such as being under pressure to finish an essay, but if stress is not relieved it becomes
chronic. Chronic stress can have negative effects on our physical and psychological condition,
relationships, work or school situation and other aspects of our social life.

C-Arm Fluoroscopy
The purpose of this assignment is to find a topic in patient care that is significant in patient care
in radiography. Then review and summarize an article pertaining to this topic that was selected.
Then it will be connected to how it is valuable it is as a future radiographer and to professionals
and how it is relevant. The topic that will be discussed is the effect on radiation exposure in
pediatric patients with c arm fluoroscopy. This is because one of the most common radiographic
procedures for pediatric patients is fluoroscopy and it is important to lower their radiation dose as
much as possible. C arm is known to have high amounts of radiation to the patient and if a patient
is exposed to radiation it increases their risk for problems... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

In the class, it has been stressed that there is an importance to lower the radiation dose to the
patient. It is important to lower the dose of radiation because it reduces the chance of radiation
induced complications. It is the one of the priorities of a radiographer to reduce the radiation
dose to the patient. This article was informative of another way to reduce the dose to the patient.
Radiation dose for all patients should be reduced as much as possible because radiation does
have harmful effects and should be limited throughout a year. The project was done to determine
if having a laser targeting system would decrease the radiation dose by eliminating unintentional
radiation prior to localizing the region of interest (Schenk Johnston p. 39). The idea behind laser
targeting was to limit and reduce the time it took to do the procedure, by reducing time exposed
to radiation it lowers the dose to the patient. The laser aids the technologist in properly aligning
the c arm in the desired position without exposing the patient to radiation (Schenk Johnston p.
42). Before the radiation dose was higher because the part of interest was located while radiation
was occurring. Now to know that the laser can locate the part of interest before exposing the
patient to radiation will help allow me to reduce patient dose if there is a laser with that particular
fluoroscopic machine. Even though this experiment was done using pediatric patients, it is
relevant information for adult patients as well because it is important to lower radiation dose
regardless of age. This information will be helpful in the future because fluoroscopy is a common
procedure and if there is a laser available on the machine, it should be utilized so radiographers and
students can help reduce the radiation dose to that patient especially, now that it was found to have
some effect on

Public Perception Of The Social Contract Theory
The sway of public perception in the negative direction can be detrimental to one s political
campaign. That s why blasting spam mail that can alter the results of an election is something of
questionable moral standards. A few pieces of information were omitted that could have helped
form a more complete answer: which political party is being hurt? What is in the email? How
detrimental was the content to the injured candidate? Knowing that I am politically biased, I know
I would agree with the decision if I supported one candidate and it led to him or her winning;
however, I will look into the issue ignoring this idea. Upon reflection, I decided that virtueethicsis
the best theory to use in regards to politics. In most instances, I subscribe to the Social Contract
theory. I personally believe that the people who are making the rules with which they have to
comply are inherently going to leave loopholes and other tricks that they can use to their
advantage. I also think elections are a different animal than using technology for a Nigerian
prince scam or selling a phone that explodes when you charge it. For instances such as these, the
law is both fair and just. Conversely, I do not approve of the vast majority of laws when they relate
to how to conduct oneself while running a political campaign. Making the rules of your own game
tends to lead to unfair practices. The first thing I considered in this dilemma were the alternate ways
to send out the information

Motor learning can be integrated into my faith by seeing how there are types of patients who have
gone through many trials and face obstacles in life. Patients that go to physical therapy can give
them an opportunity to heal and recover from their injuries. Know that I can serve God through this
career helps motivates to do His work and glorify Him. Patients I will meet will have a special
characteristic, and I will design a plan that suits for them. Some patients will probably need
verbal encouragement while other patients will need physical support or various feedbacks.
Even though the patients may differ, I will help them well and show God s love through the
actions. We are all made in the image of God, and I definitely would want each patient to know
and understand that they are special and unique in God s eyes. Life is very special to people and I
am sure a lot of people would want to keep living for a very long time. Even for non believers,
they know life is very valuable, so whenever an injury occurs, they want to do whatever they can
to recover from the injury so that they can go back to their daily lives. Teaching motor skillsto
people will give me an opportunity to spend time with them as well as getting to know them. This
will hopefully give me the chance to speak to them about my faith and tell them how wonderful our

Persuasive Essay On The Sea
Come on little crabby, come into my pot. Ill slather you in butter, I ll eat you up a lot... , I sang
to my mother as she slowly pulled the crab pot up with her thick, black rubber gloves to protect
against the deep red jellyfish that strike with their long tentacles without notice. She pulled the
line gently, making sure not to disrupt the structure of the pot and release the delicious bottom
feeders we captured that morning. As the pot neared the surface, my siblings and I reached our
little heads over the side of the canoe. The wooden canoe rocked back and forth from our
weight, making us all scream in sync because we were scared of the dark, cold water of the
sound that sweeps children away with ease. The water is an abyss to us; full of deep sea
creatures that we have never encountered. We quivered at the thought of the sharks that slowly
make their way through the water, searching for the leftover seals that the orcas left behind
when they migrated through these waters. We fear these waters, but we respect them like the
generations before us. We never take more than we need, and we always give back. Even as
young children, we are careful to take care of this delicate system and learn from it. My mother
has always told me that crabbing is like marriage; a big, unescapable trap that lures with a
beautiful chunk of meat, to ultimately trap its prey forever. I always disregard that remark, and
look forward to chucking the little ladies back into the water. I reach in

The sound of chirping avians, howling beasts, and zipping insects fills your ears until there is
no more ear left to fill. At every moment, a buzzing that equates to a power saw is hammering

overwhelming with their screaming, yet as night takes the world and the feathered fowl take
rest, an eerie silence can be broken only by the ever constant insect, still whirring across the
invisible horizon. Yet, as you approach the enclosure of a rescued beast, it is almost as if the
forest holds its breath with you, and stops whatever it does to stare through your eyes at the

On these days, it is no surprise to be the only one in the park apart from the random groups of
people passing by or an individual playing with his/her dog in the lush green grass. Even though
there are several areas of grass around the park, the most immense section is located in the center of
everything. This area is incredibly emphasized because of how everything revolves around it; if
anyone was to sit right in the middle of it, he/she would be engulfed by the relaxing atmosphere.
Sitting there would permit anyone to see buildings a hundred times his/her size in any direction he
/she would turn. For instance, someone can see the well known AT T skyscraper, also known as the
Batman Building, which is more than thirty stories tall. At the bottom section of grass, there are
two art structures; the art structures seemingly match the configuration of a human from torso to
head, but unlike actual humans, these structures are transparent. Containing various colors of lucid
lights inside the figurine, the color of the lights depends on the day. Unlike actual people, these
statues have one arm raced at all times, pointing horizontally to the side. Around each art
installation, there are four stone benches surrounding them for people to sit on. When one walks
past both structures, to the South, one will find a black marble reflection pool containing water to
stomp in, used by children and many adults. Because of the smallness of the runway and the need
for some coolness, especially on summer days, many will start splashing in the fountains located at

Summary Of To A Louse By Robert Burns
Robert Burns wrote the poem To a Louse in 1786, in Scotland, that emphasizes the social
constructs of man and as well as man s vanity. Burns then goes on in further detail to explain the
artificial concept of social class and perspective of the individual in society. He does this by
describing one day sitting in church where he is behind gorgeous young noble woman while a louse
is crawling upon her silken bonnet. The lady is completely oblivious to the fact that the louse is
upon her bonnet while everyone sitting in the pews nearby point and wink with one another at the
appearance of the louse. Through this ridiculous and humorous poem Burns is highlighting the
vanity of human nature and the artificial construct of social classthrough his own eyes that he is
seeing in eighteenth century Scotland. In the poem, the reader finds Burns sitting in his pew in
church where he notices a louse, a small wingless insect sometimes called lice or fleas, crawling
upon the bonnet of a young and elegant lady in the seat in front of him. At this point in the poem
Burns is surprised that the louse would dare set his feet upon such a fine lady rather than that of
a beggar or vagabond in the streets, where a louse would normally be found. Here Burns then
goes on to describe the louse as Detested, shunn d, by saunt (saint) an sinner and more usually
associated with the likes of the lower class, such as beggars and slaves, and not the upper class
from which the lady is from, according to The Bard: Robert Burns, a Biography by Robert
Crawford. Burns then begins to admire the bravado and courage of the louse as he makes the
trek up the noble lady s bonnet. Where Burns then turns his attention to the elegant lady whom he
calls Jenny. Which he then tells her not to shake her head in an air of pride as she is completely
unaware of the humorous effect that the sight of the louse has upon all of the people nearby. As
Burns watches those around him take notice of this spectacle in front of him he wishes that the
supreme power of God would give us the ability to see ourselves as others see us. Thus, riding
ourselves of our pride, vanity, and misconceptions in one another created by the human construct of
class in society and

Nigeria s Strong Economic Track Record Burden Of Disease
Nigeria is the largest Sub Saharan country in Africa and has a population of around 173 million
people. The population is very diverse. It has over 200 ethnic groups, with three tribes known as the
Yoruba (West), Ibo (East), and the Hausa (North). These tribes speak nearly 500 different
indigenous languages (World Health Organization, 2015).
Nigeria has the largest natural gas reserves in Africa and is also the biggest oil exporter on the
continent. What this means in terms of global health is that Nigeria has the largest economy in
Africa with an estimated GDP of 510 billion USD, which surpasses South Africa s economy by
over 200 billion (World Health Organization, 2015). This type of economic growth can reduce
poverty, improve standards of living by offering proper education, provide quality healthcare, and
repair infrastructure, which will help reduce injuries related deaths. This paper will attempt to
explain that despite Nigeria s strong economic track record their burden of disease is still running
rampant, also there are many leading health indicators that need to be readdressed, and finally the
steps Nigeria is taking to combat these issues.
The burden of disease can be measured using the disability adjusted life year scale (DALY). This
scale was developed in the 1990 s to assess the burden of disease across regions, risk factors and
different diseases. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), it is a measure of the
years of life lost due to premature

New York City, Tokyo And Paris
Introduction: With all major cities in the world, such as: New York City, Tokyo and Paris, comes a
exceptional transit system. Whether its is subways, buses, light rail transit (LRT) or a combination
of the above, they all perform a crucial role in transporting people from one destination to the next.
Since opening in 1954, Toronto s Transit Commission, also known as the TTC, has a system that
just about cover every part of Toronto, with 4 subway/rapid transitlines, 143 busand 11 streetcar
routes in 2015, (TTC, 2015). Unfortunately, the TTC is still plagued with many problems, such as:
unexplained delay and overcrowding, which decline the riderships and revenues (Curry, 2016;
Hume, 2016). Furthermore the population of the greater toronto area(GTA) is expected to grow in
the upcoming years, Toronto s transit system would not be ready for the increase in capacity
(CrosstownTO, 2014). Therefore in order to increase the transit system s capacity and make it more
appealing, more LRT/Bus lines would need to be built in the GTA due to their constructability,
benefits to society and the environment, flexibility in suburbs and their low risks in meeting
ridership goal.
Constructability
Planning and constructing a new transit system is simple and inexpensive task . Everyones

Consensus of the People in Nazi Germany
The vital element in maintaining Hitler s regime remains one of the most controversial arguments
amongst historians. There are many considerable factors. Historians such as Jaques Delarue and
Hans Rothfels argue that terror was the main component to sustain control, whilst David Crew and
Dick Geary believe it was propaganda that made it possible. However, there are other factors that
are supported, for instance, contextual condition was backed by Ralph Flenly and Hans Rothfels
and the people s consent, as A.J.P. Taylor proposes, was the imperative constituent. Most historians
have the same problem evaluating as they have different definitions for people s consent. Silent
opposition is the term used for the people who passively opposed.... Show more content on

They also assassinated a Gestapo officer at Cologne in 1944. This behaviour demonstrated that
although young people were forced to support Hitler, not all were convinced by the Propaganda.
In spite of this, the Edelweiss pirates were only a small minority group. Another one of Flenly s
main point is that the effects of the First World War had left a vacuum in the German politics,
one which required a strong leading figure. The emotional appeal of the Nazis was very strong,
the Nazi ideology fitted with the traditional values like the role of men and women and family
values. Only a small group of people would deny these ideas. The Nazis offered exactly what the
people wanted and they extended conventional ideals and gave the people a leader which they
longed for. Their long tradition of obedience to authority and the retarded development of
political and civil freedom was a sign that was also spotted by William Shirer as he claimed
Acceptance of autocracy, of blind obedience to the petty tyrants who ruled as princes, became
ingrained in the German mind. [6] hence the immense support shown in the election results, in
November election 1933, they gained 92.9% of the overall votes. This was an achievement which
cannot be credited solely to terrorism, still less to fraud.[7] Flenly s interpretation also points out
that the people gave their approval

Ancient Egypt
The culture of Egypt is thousands of years old. Ancient Egypt was among the earliest civilizations.
For years, Egypt maintained a complex and stable culture that actually influenced later generations
of Europe, the Middle East and many parts of Africa. After the Pharaonic era, Egypt itself came
under the influence of Hellenism, then Christianity for a period of time and later, Islamic culture.
While some of Egypt s ancient traditions remain evident, modern Egypt has evolved greatly due to
influences of immigrants from the surrounding Arab countries. Visitors to Egypt usually notice that

their extended families. Most businesses are closed on Fridays, the Muslim holy day, and some
also closed on Saturdays. Among the famous religious traditions is the holy month of Ramadan,
when Egyptian Muslims fast and are only work for six hours each day before they can break their
fast. While not required to fast during Ramadan, Christians do not eat, drink, or smoke in public as
common courtesy. The major mosques are open to tourists, except during religious services. All
guests are expected to take off their shoes before entering most of the religious buildings in

Just As The Hands Of A Clock Are Constantly Moving, Time
Just as the hands of a clock are constantly moving, time is constantly going about changing society.
Relationships among people have changed significantly from what they were in the past.
Specifically, the way in which people interact has changed drastically. However, the one interaction
has remained relatively the same throughout: bullying. Bullying, a negative interaction, has
produced many statistics. In other words, bullying has made its mark in who the common bullies
are, who are the typical victims of bullying, the repercussions of bullying, and ways in which
bullying is linked to social and individual problems such as depression, anxiety, and violent
tendencies.

On the contrary to the negativity forwarded by the bully, there are aspects that may help children
avoid the drive for power behavior. The alternative to being a bully is an effective member of
society. If a child has the right friend group they will be less inclined to be involved in negative
behavior. By right friend group this means, supportive in nature. Those who are not the alternative
are unfortunate in the matter that they become the victim of bullying. Overweight and obese
children are often bullied. As well as, anxious, socially withdrawn, and aggressive children are
often found to be the victims of bullying. The reasons behind these characteristics being common
amongst victims is because those who are anxious or socially withdrawn are not likely to fight
back or retaliate if bullied. And contrary to belief children who demonstrate aggressive tendencies
fall victim to bullying because their behavior may be interpreted as irritating by the bully. These
children who are victims are victims of many types of bullying.
Types of Bullying
Overall bullying perceived as a singular concept, but there are many variations that take place.
These types of bullying include: verbal, emotional, physical, and cyberbullying. Verbal bullying
takes on different forms such as: insults, racist, sexist, or homophobic remarks, name calling, or
teasing. Emotional bullying impacts an individual through the isolation of the individual through

Infatuation In Hurstwood s Sister Carrie
In the opening of Sister Carrie, Carrie is boarding a train from her small town, Columbia City, to
Chicago. Sister Carrie is set in the late Nineteenth century, and Carrie is moving to Chicago
following the economic boom that succeed the Civil War after Reconstruction. Chicago was one of
the largest American cities at that point, and Carriejoined the massive queue of wage earners
searching for factory work in large cities. While she is searching for work there are constant
references to Carrie s infatuation with material items. A huge theme in Sister Carrieis the obsession
with material items. In the beginning of the story, when Carrie is earning just four and a half
dollars a week, four of which is her boarding cost to stay with Minnie and... Show more content on

This appears to be the beginning of Carrie s ambition to become wealthy while not relying
another individual for money. Throughout the book, Carrie can never seem to stay loyal to an
individual or group of people. She originally stays with her sister in Chicago, but after she
decides that her low wage job and experiences with her sister are not enough to satisfy her, she
runs off to be Drouet s mistress. She lives comfortably with Drouet for awhile, however when
she is introduced to George Hurstwood, she begins to believe that the life she is currently living
is very modest and bland. She soon partakes in a love affair with Hurstwood, unaware that he is a
married man. When Drouet refuses to endulge Carrie s expenditures he leaves her and allows her
to keep the apartment, again showing that Carrie has little devotion to people. Although she did
not leave Drouet, her actions and lack of desire to keep their relationship going exacerbates the
couples many problems and leads to their eventual demise. After a brief stint in Montreal the
newly married couple moves to New York. In New York Carrie realizes that Hurstwood is running
out of money, and as she becomes

Mozart s First Movement for Clarinet Concerto in A Major,...
Continuing a habit of challenging traditional structures in music and society, Mozart fosters unity
between the ensemble and the soloist in a form that is usually built on contrast in the first
movement of his Concerto for Clarinet in A Major, K 622.
This paper will begin with a brief discussion of sonata form, which will define many of the terms
used in the remainder of the paper. Next, a detailed explanation of first movement concerto form as
it was understood in Mozart s time. Following this, Mozart s habits of altering tradition will be
established, and there will be an analysis of the alterations he makes to first movement concerto
form in his Clarinet Concerto K 622, and how they foster unity.
The sonata is a unified formal structure broken up into several sections by theorists. The major
sections are the exposition, the development, and the recapitulation. While the modern terms for
these sections were only established in the early 20th century, the form s consistency means that
these terms can be applied to pieces before this time. The exposition contains the two major themes
of the piece, called the primary and secondary theme, as of about 1750. The primary theme is in the
tonic key, and the secondary theme is in another closely related key, which is reached through a
modulatory transition, sometimes called the bridge. The development section modulates through
several keys, but it only rarely introduces new material, and simply treats material already

Introduction
When one speak of the word diversity, odds are the first thing that comes to mind is either race or

Diversity Management is the practice of recognizing and supporting multiple lifestyles and
personal characteristics within a group of people. In today s workplace diversity is not a norm but
also an encouraged workplace makeup from employees, shareholders, government, and employers.

Karl Marx s Views on Religion
Karl Marx has greatly influenced the creation of the modern world and was one of the first
revolutionary communist. Through his literary works and philosophies he helped to inspire many
20th century communist regimes including the Soviet Union, China, Cuba, and North Korea. Marx
s ideas did not end at communism; his religious ideology also helped shape and mold the 20th
century world. Karl Marxwas born in 1818 in Trier, Germany and died in 1883. He was a
philosopher who turned to economics and politics in his mid 20 s. His family was Jewish but
they converted to Christianity so that Marx s father might pursue his career as a lawyer. Marx
studied law in Berlin and then wrote a thesis for his doctorate in philosophy. Marx had... Show more

In the preface to his doctoral dissertation, Marx adopted as his motto the words of the Greek hero
Prometheus who defied the gods to bring fire to humanity: I hate all gods, with addition that they
do not recognize man s self consciousness as the highest divinity (Marx).
Third, religion is hypocritical. Although it might profess valuable principles, it sides with the
oppressors. Jesus advocated helping the poor, but the Christian church merged with the oppressive
Roman state, taking part in the enslavement of people for centuries. In the Middle Ages the
Catholic Church preached about heaven, but acquired as much property and power as possible.
Martin Luther preached the ability of each individual to interpret the Bible, but sided with
aristocratic rulers and against peasants who fought against economic and social oppression.
According to Marx, this new form of Christianity, Protestantism, was a production of new
economic forces as early capitalism developed. New economic realities required a new religious
superstructure by which it could be justified and defended. In addition to critiquing religion, Karl
Marx wrote about the basic ideologies and principles on socialism and communism. In The
Communist Manifesto, Marx discusses the problems facing society and how the government is
responsible for this. According to Marx, the East Indian and Chinese markets, the colonization of
America, and trade with the

How would the world be a better place if everyone lived up to the value presented? This world
today in my opinion could use some manners. If everyone was to be more polite to one another,
our world would be doing bigger and better things then it already has been. Being polite is simply
the act of showing good manners to someone, it s really not that hard to use your please and
thank you, or to even just give a nice little comment to someone. Another right thing to do is to
be kind; holding the door, help someone carries stuff if his or her hands are full, complementing
on some one. The little things like that can brighten someone s day just like that. Being polite
and kind to someone can change their life. The simply words of how are you or you look nice
today can really make someone happy. Those actions can be used anywhere from the basketball
court, to streets, in church, or literally anywhere. The feeling of doing the right thing not only puts
the person you are helping in a good mood but also it may put you in one

Descriptive Favorite Food Essay

January 24, 20011 Favorite Food My favorite food is chicken fettuccini pasta. I prefer this dish
because of the great taste. It consists of a magnificent sauce, tender chicken, and mixed vegetables.
This blend of ingredients contributes the flavor, texture, and appearances of the pasta.
Just because the sauce isn t an attractive color, which is an dull white with drops of grey from
mushrooms and specks of green from the broccoli .The creamy fettuccini sauce itself is so
tantalizing it s truly what I call the cream of the crop. Added to the sauce is a mixture of
mozzarella, ricotta, and provolone cheese along with sautГ©ed mushrooms and sun dried tomatoes.

The green small crunchy tree like shaped vegetable doesn t make me feel guilty about my favorite
meal because every bite is filled with specks of broccoli so the health factor is definitely included. I
know I m getting my proper amount of vegetables. The succulent tan chewy mushrooms provides
an excellent source of potassium, also an interesting fact (mushrooms helps with migraine
headaches.) The sundried tomatoes are sparingly sprinkled throughout the dish because the flavor is
quite intense, concentrated and slightly salty so a little goes along way. Many vegetables give
pasta the picture perfect look. When eating this incredible tasting pasta I understand what it takes to
make food so inviting. It has many different yet, incredible savory sauces and different ways of
being crafted it can easily be adapted in diverse culture which makes pasta that more interesting.
The pasta dish has come a long way from its original creation in the 18th century with its
ingredients that consisted of only egg , flour, cheese, and cream; however, it has evolved into a
food of art that has my taste buds more in tact. Its roman herbs and spices give me a feeling of
warmth and cheerfulness at the time of eating. Food of this stature should be a crime given my
opinion because of the texture and taste only keeps me coming back for more. This pasta comes
second to none; it s my choice over all when it comes to my favorite

Augustus And The Pope Analysis
Augustus and the Pope
Being a leader means you have followers, people who will stand behind you and support you and
how you lead them no matter what the challenge is, Augustus had these followers, he was a great
leader.
Augustus was the first Roman Emperor, he was loved by his people and not only rebuilt his own
palace but the entire town, even the Soothsayers did not predict his success.
Pope Frances is the 226th Pope of the Catholic Church in Italy, he became the Pope even though his
family was against it.
Augustus was a better leader than Pope Francis because he had followers, supporters and people
who stayed with him, he never let his feeling get in the way or wanting people to like him.

Pope Francis is loved because he travels the world telling people what they want to hear.
Augustus showed his wealth, but he also shared it, as oppose to Pope Francis who clam s we

Augustus shared his wealth by not only rebuilding his house, but everyone else s too along with the

Pope Francis when he travels, stays with the non wealthy and says that we should all live like them
when in reality he has a very big house himself. (Kormann NY)
To be a leader, you not only need followers but also have to have something to follow.

Excessive release of this chemical leads to sleeplessness that affects normal human cycle. This contributes immensely to regular and sustained burnouts due to sleep deprivation (Seib, Whiteside, Humphrey, Lee, Thomas, Chopin, ... Anderson, 2014). Additionally, catecholamines affect the frontal region of the brain, which is instrumental in short term and long term memories (King, Lloyd Holewa, 2008). This leads to poor memory and retention capacity. Acute stress tends to have a long term mental health impact that affects multiple regions. The second response mechanism towards stress is by the heart, circulatory system and the lungs (Seib et al., 2014; Wells, 2013). Uncontrolled release of metabolic signals leads to poor digestion and absorption of bear. As the concentration of bear increases, the heart beat increases to try and distribute the concentration of bear to other parts of the body, which leads to an increase in blood pressure (Seib et al., 2014; Wells, 2013). To country oxygen demand, the breathing system suddenly increases as the lungs take in as much oxygen as they possibly can to satisfy its shortage in the blood stream (Wells, 2013). • 4. Essay on Working Class This article entitled The Honest Workingman and Workers Control: The Experience of Toronto Skilled Workers, 1860 1892 written by Gregory S. Kealey looks to better describe the practice of three Toronto unions from the 1860 s to the early 1890 s and their struggles for their rights and deserved wages in order to illustrate the strength these types of unions possess. This article recognizes that there are industries where unions win, and still must rely on skilled labour. Many times people hear the term industrialization and think that all craft workers get blown away, however this is not exactly the case as this article demonstrates. Kealey looks at three separate cases in three separate industries to identify the significant variations... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Labour unions played a great role in the battle between the capitalist world and the labourers who wanted their rights to stay intact. In the Toronto moulding department, the union s claim to control was the central issue being discussed. Many attempts at strikes were mentioned resulting in major struggles for the working class. Eventually, there industry wide agreements in stove foundries, but until this the strength of the moulders depended solely on their skill and control of the work process through their union. The Iron Moulders differed from the Coopers in that they maintained a high level of workplace control into the twentieth century. This was mainly due to the strength of their organization, but also relied on the slower introduction of machinery to replace physical workers in this industry, and therefore the workers had time to perfect their craft before the machines arrived.(Kealey, 1976) The third, and probably most supportive case given by Kealey is that of the Toronto printer s industry and union, with their control of the shop floor demonstrating early union power. These printers had a very strong tradition of craft pride and identified well with their work. It was obvious that you had to be literate to be involved in printing, and therefore these printing trades were very exclusive, and to belong you needed to show a great deal of intelligence and knowledge. Because of this, printers in these ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

That s a question that has eluded even the most dedicated grill warriors for a long time but you can offer up a perfect steak to your guests just like any chef would. In part one of our steak series, we ll show you some contrasting opinions on one facet of perfect steak preparation: do you bring the steak to room temperature or not? Grill Store Dallas TX: Chefs Don t Agree on the Room Temperature Axiom Many people grab the steak out of the fridge, shake some salt on it, and toss it on the grill. Others are careful to let their steaks come to room temperature this can take up to 30 minutes before they will place them on the grill.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He suggests taking the steaks out of the refrigerator half an hour before grilling. In that case, you had better plan ahead. On the other hand, ABC News quoted chef Michael Lomonaco as saying that room temperature steaks cook far too quickly. When you cook with a room temperature steak, it cooks much faster, said Lomonaco, according to ABC. Cooking with cold steaks allows you to control the temperature more, resulting in a perfectly cooked steak. Patio Gas Grills Dallas: Here Is the Solution The end goal, a perfectly grilled steak, is the same, regardless of your feelings on the room temperature theory. The next time this conversation arises at a grill store Dallas TX, just mention that the temperature of the grill, not the temperature of the steak, is more important when you re getting started. Chef Walzog recommends letting your grill remain closed for up to five full minutes after the coals have reached a proper heat level (when the coals are almost white). Placing your steaks on the grill after it has had a chance to reach this level of heat results in beautifully charred exterior without over cooking the inside. Of course, my little cousin trips from behind me and we slid into the stream. I am not going to lie, that cold water felt really good, but we were soaked. Managed care conglomerates provide health coverage for increasing numbers of Americans. Many critics question whether these businesses provide care dutifully. At the very least, the present managed care system requires health care providers and recipients to reexamine established principles underling physician patient interaction. Unlike fee for service reimbursement which was normative previous to managed care, HMO s usually pay doctors and hospitals massive sums up front. These payments are arranged per diem, by capitation, or sometimes by fixed salary. Many critics of managed care believe that these compensation packages are immoral. What Health Care Is Now In order to ascertain the merit of managed health care, ethical presuppositions guiding our health care system require consideration. In the United States, four main principles undergird the way health care is practiced. These principles are: beneficence, nommaleficence, autonomy and justice. Beneficence is the obligation of health care providers to render help to people in need. Just as health care workers are called to provide care, they also have a duty to do no harm. This principle is commonly called nonmaleficence. At times, the possibility of doing good may result in injury. Therefore, the principle of beneficence and nonmaleficence do not always concur. Thirdly, the principle of autonomy allows patients to make choices regarding their health care. In other words, health care providers should allow patients to make the final decision regarding their treatment plan. Finally, justice refers to the ethical concept of treating everyone in a ... New research on consumer experiences also emphasizes the importance of embodiment. Pham et al. (2001), for instance, state that consumer assessments are often based on both feelings and reason and that one or the other becomes more prominent depending on the context. They argue that feelings play a central role in consumer decision making and merit serious investigation, which, for this study, means that intertwining mind and body is crucial for creating an unforgettable consumer experience. The effort afoot to restore embodied realism to social scientiп¬Ѓc inquiry (Johnson 1999; Lakoff and Johnson 1999) has generated some of the most exciting research into consumer behavior. Throughout the book, he explains how viruses developed to dominate the outcomes of our health by constantly producing and spreading new diseases across species. New diseases are formed by viruses through mutation and reassortment. Zimmer explains that reassortment allows flu viruses to mix genes together, into new combinations (Zimmer, 18). At first, Zimmer explains how the word Virus had a different meaning in the beginning and had changed to acquire the meaning it is now. He then talks in each chapter about various viruses such as, HIV, swine flu, small pox and many other. He discusses about their impact on our environment, and how they originated. Viruses spread by animals, air or even mosquitos. This book also shows how the viruses are becoming more and more resilient to antibiotics, which controls the environment, our fate and the aspects of health. • 15. Power In Animal Farm By George Orwell And Vladimir Stalin The Russian government is one of constant ideological change, from the October Revolutionist Lenin to the extreme values of Josef Stalin. It can be argued that power always corrupts, as seen in the character Napoleon from Animal Farm by George Orwell and Vladimir Putin with their characteristics of corruption, centralizing government to suit their own needs, and the use of fear to keep their power. To begin, we will elaborate on corruption. In the beginning of the novel, the animals on Animal Farm conspire on a list of commandments. One of these commandments states, All animals are equal (Orwell 25). This means that all animals, whether they are a cow, pig, bird, or horse, are equal. But, as the chapters go on, the pigs increasingly gain power, due to Napoleon being the leader of Animal Farm. The more power they gain, the less they work and contribute to the farm. The pigs did not actually work, but directed and supervised the others. With their superior knowledge, it was natural that they should assume the leadership (Orwell Ch. 3). This provides evidence that they did not work, rather bossed the animals around in the thought that they were superior. This directly relates back to Mr. Putin. Countless articles and trustworthy sources have reported him as being deeply corrupt . The New York Times states, The commonplace explanation in the Western media is that Mr. Putin himself is deeply corrupt indeed, that he sits at the epicenter of Russia s corrupt edifice ... The never ending search for strategies to attain better results lead policy makers in the UK to continue the promotion of setting pupils by ability, despite research suggesting no consistent evidence that structured ability groupingwill produce positive effects on attainment on any particular group of pupils (Hallam Ireson, 2005). Research also suggests that teachers tend to feel the pressure of government guidance s and school s ethos and policies as an important force in determining their beliefs (Hallam Ireson, 2003), but their attitudes towards teaching seem to be mostly influenced by their experience in their subjects with their classes (Hallam Ireson, 2003; Hallam Ireson, 2005; Kutnick, Blatchford, Clark, MacIntyre, Baines, 2005). The government guidance acknowledges that setting doesn t guarantee full homogeneity within the groups and therefore differentiation is still necessary in lessons, as they need to be tailored specifically to their profile and allow the implementation of strategies that able pupils to be stretched in their different capacities (DfES, 2006). Nevertheless, intelligent use of group setting would allow teachers to plan with more confidence, allocate resources like teaching assistants to more demanding groups (DfES, 2006), and differentiate their approach to different groups. The main argument in favor of setting pupils by ability tends to be that more able pupils need some form of separate grouping and an environment where they can freely be stretched to the maximum of their potential without feeling inhibited by their peers (Hallam Ireson, 2003; Hallam Ireson, 2005; Hallam, Rogers, Ireson, 2008). Judith Beheading Holofernes Analysis Conflict and Art: Renaissance to Modern Day The three works selected in this paper are: Judith Beheading Holofernes, The Death of Lucretia, and Le Dejeuner Sur I herbe. Each artwork comes from a different era; the three eras being Baroque, Neoclassical, and Modernism. Judith Beheading Holofernes is a painting by Artermisa Gentileschi during the Baroque era of art in Italia. This painting is her visual of a scene told in The Book of Judith. In the scene Judith has gained access to Holofernes s tent and he later passes out from being intoxicated giving Judith the advantage to be able to decapitate him in turn saving her home land (Buckley, Peter J., M.D. American Journal of Psychiatry). This painting shows the conflict men bring on to the countries without a thought on their actions. Judith took control of the situation by getting rid of Holofernes but by her look. I have to admit that, for me, personally, it has become a chronic condition. Recently, I have finally made the step of realizing that stress is the evil dictator ruling a vicious cycle. A revolution is necessary: Stress is something we have all experienced at some point in our lives. From a biological perspective, stress is a phenomenon that occurs when we experience circumstances that disturb our physical and mental equilibrium. These circumstances, which are referred to as stressors, include heavy workloads, relationship problems, illnesses or upcoming, life changing events such as weddings, divorces or childbirth. Stress is naturally occurring and can even be helpful in certain situations such as being under pressure to finish an essay, but if stress is not relieved it becomes chronic. In the class, it has been stressed that there is an importance to lower the radiation dose to the patient. It is important to lower the dose of radiation because it reduces the chance of radiation induced complications. It is the one of the priorities of a radiographer to reduce the radiation dose to the patient. This article was informative of another way to reduce the dose to the patient. Radiation dose for all patients should be reduced as much as possible because radiation does have harmful effects and should be limited throughout a year. The project was done to determine if having a laser targeting system would decrease the radiation dose by eliminating unintentional radiation prior to localizing the region of interest (Schenk Johnston p. 39). The idea behind laser targeting was to limit and reduce the time it took to do the procedure, by reducing time exposed to radiation it lowers the dose to the patient. The laser aids the technologist in properly aligning the c arm in the desired position without exposing the patient to radiation (Schenk Johnston p. 42). Before the radiation dose was higher because the part of interest was located while radiation was occurring. Now to know that the laser can locate the part of interest before exposing the patient to radiation will help allow me to reduce patient dose if there is a laser with that particular fluoroscopic machine. Even though this experiment was done using pediatric patients, it is relevant information for adult patients as well because it is important to lower radiation dose regardless of age. This information will be helpful in the future because fluoroscopy is a common procedure and if there is a laser available on the machine, it should be utilized so radiographers and students can help reduce the radiation dose to that patient especially, now that it was found to have some effect on ... • 32. Summary Of To A Louse By Robert Burns Robert Burns wrote the poem To a Louse in 1786, in Scotland, that emphasizes the social constructs of man and as well as man s vanity. Burns then goes on in further detail to explain the artificial concept of social class and perspective of the individual in society. He does this by describing one day sitting in church where he is behind gorgeous young noble woman while a louse is crawling upon her silken bonnet. The lady is completely oblivious to the fact that the louse is upon her bonnet while everyone sitting in the pews nearby point and wink with one another at the appearance of the louse. Through this ridiculous and humorous poem Burns is highlighting the vanity of human nature and the artificial construct of social classthrough his own eyes that he is seeing in eighteenth century Scotland. In the poem, the reader finds Burns sitting in his pew in church where he notices a louse, a small wingless insect sometimes called lice or fleas, crawling upon the bonnet of a young and elegant lady in the seat in front of him. At this point in the poem Burns is surprised that the louse would dare set his feet upon such a fine lady rather than that of a beggar or vagabond in the streets, where a louse would normally be found. Here Burns then goes on to describe the louse as Detested, shunn d, by saunt (saint) an sinner and more usually associated with the likes of the lower class, such as beggars and slaves, and not the upper class from which the lady is from, according to The Bard: Robert Burns, a Biography by Robert Crawford. Burns then begins to admire the bravado and courage of the louse as he makes the trek up the noble lady s bonnet. Where Burns then turns his attention to the elegant lady whom he calls Jenny. Which he then tells her not to shake her head in an air of pride as she is completely unaware of the humorous effect that the sight of the louse has upon all of the people nearby. As Burns watches those around him take notice of this spectacle in front of him he wishes that the supreme power of God would give us the ability to see ourselves as others see us. Thus, riding ourselves of our pride, vanity, and misconceptions in one another created by the human construct of class in society and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 33. Nigeria s Strong Economic Track Record Burden Of Disease Nigeria is the largest Sub Saharan country in Africa and has a population of around 173 million people. The population is very diverse. It has over 200 ethnic groups, with three tribes known as the Yoruba (West), Ibo (East), and the Hausa (North). These tribes speak nearly 500 different indigenous languages (World Health Organization, 2015). Nigeria has the largest natural gas reserves in Africa and is also the biggest oil exporter on the continent. What this means in terms of global health is that Nigeria has the largest economy in Africa with an estimated GDP of 510 billion USD, which surpasses South Africa s economy by over 200 billion (World Health Organization, 2015). This type of economic growth can reduce poverty, improve standards of living by offering proper education, provide quality healthcare, and repair infrastructure, which will help reduce injuries related deaths. This paper will attempt to explain that despite Nigeria s strong economic track record their burden of disease is still running rampant, also there are many leading health indicators that need to be readdressed, and finally the steps Nigeria is taking to combat these issues. The burden of disease can be measured using the disability adjusted life year scale (DALY). This scale was developed in the 1990 s to assess the burden of disease across regions, risk factors and different diseases. Whether its is subways, buses, light rail transit (LRT) or a combination of the above, they all perform a crucial role in transporting people from one destination to the next. Since opening in 1954, Toronto s Transit Commission, also known as the TTC, has a system that just about cover every part of Toronto, with 4 subway/rapid transitlines, 143 busand 11 streetcar routes in 2015, (TTC, 2015). Unfortunately, the TTC is still plagued with many problems, such as: unexplained delay and overcrowding, which decline the riderships and revenues (Curry, 2016; Hume, 2016). Furthermore the population of the greater toronto area(GTA) is expected to grow in the upcoming years, Toronto s transit system would not be ready for the increase in capacity (CrosstownTO, 2014). Therefore in order to increase the transit system s capacity and make it more appealing, more LRT/Bus lines would need to be built in the GTA due to their constructability, benefits to society and the environment, flexibility in suburbs and their low risks in meeting ridership goal. Constructability Planning and constructing a new transit system is simple and inexpensive task . • 36. Consensus of the People in Nazi Germany The vital element in maintaining Hitler s regime remains one of the most controversial arguments amongst historians. There are many considerable factors. Historians such as Jaques Delarue and Hans Rothfels argue that terror was the main component to sustain control, whilst David Crew and Dick Geary believe it was propaganda that made it possible. However, there are other factors that are supported, for instance, contextual condition was backed by Ralph Flenly and Hans Rothfels and the people s consent, as A.J.P. Taylor proposes, was the imperative constituent. Most historians have the same problem evaluating as they have different definitions for people s consent. This behaviour demonstrated that although young people were forced to support Hitler, not all were convinced by the Propaganda. In spite of this, the Edelweiss pirates were only a small minority group. Another one of Flenly s main point is that the effects of the First World War had left a vacuum in the German politics, one which required a strong leading figure. The emotional appeal of the Nazis was very strong, the Nazi ideology fitted with the traditional values like the role of men and women and family values. Only a small group of people would deny these ideas. The Nazis offered exactly what the people wanted and they extended conventional ideals and gave the people a leader which they longed for. Their long tradition of obedience to authority and the retarded development of political and civil freedom was a sign that was also spotted by William Shirer as he claimed Acceptance of autocracy, of blind obedience to the petty tyrants who ruled as princes, became ingrained in the German mind. [6] hence the immense support shown in the election results, in November election 1933, they gained 92.9% of the overall votes. This was an achievement which cannot be credited solely to terrorism, still less to fraud.[7] Flenly s interpretation also points out that the people gave their approval ... • 41. Mozart s First Movement for Clarinet Concerto in A Major,... Continuing a habit of challenging traditional structures in music and society, Mozart fosters unity between the ensemble and the soloist in a form that is usually built on contrast in the first movement of his Concerto for Clarinet in A Major, K 622. This paper will begin with a brief discussion of sonata form, which will define many of the terms used in the remainder of the paper. Next, a detailed explanation of first movement concerto form as it was understood in Mozart s time. Following this, Mozart s habits of altering tradition will be established, and there will be an analysis of the alterations he makes to first movement concerto form in his Clarinet Concerto K 622, and how they foster unity. The sonata is a unified formal structure broken up into several sections by theorists. The major sections are the exposition, the development, and the recapitulation. While the modern terms for these sections were only established in the early 20th century, the form s consistency means that these terms can be applied to pieces before this time. The exposition contains the two major themes of the piece, called the primary and secondary theme, as of about 1750. The primary theme is in the tonic key, and the secondary theme is in another closely related key, which is reached through a modulatory transition, sometimes called the bridge. The development section modulates through several keys, but it only rarely introduces new material, and simply treats material already established ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Martin Luther preached the ability of each individual to interpret the Bible, but sided with aristocratic rulers and against peasants who fought against economic and social oppression.
