01 How Does Science Affect The World?
New science significantly impacts the world in which people live,
including medical breakthroughs, inventive ideas, and each area
of human life. When we celebrate science, it creates the desire in
our youth to explore and experiment and develop problem-
solving skills and an understanding of the world.
02
Why Do We Celebrate International
Science Day?
One of the primary goals of this day is to create awareness
about the benefits of scientific literacy worldwide.
03
Why Is World Science Day For Peace And
Development Important?
World Science Day for Peace and Development success depends
on achieving the active involvement of as many partners as
possible.
World Science Day for Peace and Development contains developed multiple concrete
projects, programmers, and funding for science worldwide. Since its announcement by
United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization in 2001.

World Science Day For Peace And Development
Timeline
The objectives of World Science Day for Peace and
Development are to:
 Strengthen public awareness of the role of science for peaceful
and sustainable societies
 Promote national and international solidarity for shared
knowledge and scientific cooperation
 Renew national and international commitment for the use of
science for the benefit of societies
 Draw attention to the challenges faced by science and raising
support for scientific endeavors
04. Development
Developmental science is an
interdisciplinary scientific field that
synthesizes perspectives from
biology, psychology, and sociology
to understand behavioral and
psychological aspects of human
development.
Science Development
Electricity Penicillin
Louis Pasteur
Insulin
DNA X-RAYS
Electricity
Michael Faraday invented the electric engine in
1821, and Georg Ohm mathematically analyzed the
electrical circuit in 1827. James Clerk Maxwell
connected electricity and charm (and light),
especially in his "On Material Lines of Force" in 1861
and 1862.
Louis Pasteur
Before 1860, ’s People Did Not Know What Caused
Disease Until French Chemist Louis Pasteur Began
Experimenting With Bactria. He Discovered That
Disease Came From Microorganisms That Could Be
Killed By Heart And Disinfectant! This Led To Doctor
Washing Their Hands And Sterilizing Their
Instruments, Which Saved Millions Of Lives.
Penicillin
Alexander Fleming located penicillin in 1928
at St. Mary's Hospital London. This finding led
to the intro of antibiotics that significantly
reduced the number of deaths from infection.
DNA
The molecule, now understood as DNA, was first
recognized in the 1860s by a Swiss chemist Johann
Friedrich Miescher. Johann set to release to research
the key components of white blood cells. The primary
source of these cells? Part of our body's immune
system. Pus-coated bandages were collected from a
nearby medical clinic.
Insulin
Insulin from cattle and pigs was utilized for many
years to treat diabetes and protected millions of lives,
but it stood perfect as it provoked allergic reactions
in many patients. The relatively genetically planned,
artificial "human" insulin was produced in 1978 using
E. coli bacteria to produce the insulin.
X-RAYS
W.C. Rontgen reported the finding of X-rays
in December 1895 after seven weeks of diligent
work. He had learned the belongings of this new type
of radiation, able to go through screens of great
thickness. He named them X-rays to underline the
truth that their nature was unknown.
