Misinterpreting Of The Book The Bible Is Everything
1.If you carefully consider the surrounding context of a passage, but ignore its literary genre, it
could result in significant consequences, such as, committing damage to the original meaning of the
text. It is important to take the text into consideration because it gives relevance to the meaning.
Duvall and Hays explains in their book how the Bibleis everything . Therefore, without
understanding the context, there is no meaning because each story/literature in the Bible has its
own specific rules that we all need to understand. Without understanding the exact meanings, we
risk misinterpreting the word and spreading false scripture.

Epoch Of Helen
Helen of Troy is regarded as the most beautiful woman in the world. She is desired by every man,
and she essentially started The Trojan War, which lasted 10 years. Helen is a central figure in
various Greek mythological stories for her beauty as well as for her decisions and actions. Despite
these main similarities, in various stories Helenis depicted totally differently. The way in which
Helen is portrayed is different from epoch to epoch, and from culture to culture. The three main
epochs that contain stories of Helen are the ancient Greek era, the medieval Christian era, and the
contemporary era. The two main Greek stories including Helen are Homer s Iliadand Odyssey. The
main medieval Christian story including Helen is Dante s Inferno.... Show more content on

Every man desired her, yet she was stuck with an ugly King Menelaus, the ruler of the Spartans.
Helen, however, did know her sheer beauty and because of this she was very frivolous, and that
led to her being unfaithful to Menelaus, and she ran off with Paris, son of Priam, the ruler of
Troy. Troy was a rival city state of the Spartans, and thus a war begun over Helen. Homer
describes Helen s beauty to that of a goddess. He writes, Helen came out of her scented chamber,
a moving grace like Artemis, straight as a shaft of gold (The Odyssey, Book IV). This shows
how elegant Helen was due to the many rich and beautiful comparisons. Homer further goes on
the describe the scene using more and more extravagant comparisons. The words that Homer
uses to describe Helen and the characterization of her really gives the reader a full understanding
of her influence on a man s desires. All men desired her. She was essentially the Aphrodite of the
real world, and Homer carefully worded his writings to depict that. Furthermore, the fact that
men were willing to risk their lives in battle over her significantly shows how influential Helen s
beauty is to the ancient Greeks. The mood of the Odyssey and the Iliad also helps to understand
the desires of the ancient Greeks. The moods of both stories shift greatly from book to book, but
the overall mood is excitement and action. Ultimately, at the end of the action the winner will
get their desires, which in this case is Helen, since she is the desire of the Spartans and Trojans.
The Iliad is mainly about strength and how that can lead to one s desires. The Odyssey is about
wit and how intelligence can also lead one to his/her desires. Helen is essentially set up as the
prize or each competitors desire, and the excitement and action is the mood that leads up to this.
Homer s depiction of Helen is very conventional. She is the most

Strengths And Weaknesses Of Ancient Sparta And Athens
Ancient Greece is known for its two rival city states, Athens and Sparta. It was the strengths of
these two societies that brought the ancient world to its heights in art, culture and with the defeat
of the Persians, warfare. With Athens and Sparta fighting for power and territory, it brought about
the Peloponnesian wars that lasted thirty years, leaving the two city states in their own shadows.
The classical era was helped shaped from the works of Homer, The Illiad and The Odyssey, that in
a way, created a set of rules and an ethnic identity for the Greeks. The heroic achievements of
Odysseus and the other Achaeans served as role models for the Greeks which told them how to
behave and how not to behave in many situations, especially on the battle field and in competition.
Around 800 B.C. the Spartans were founded by Lycurgus and known for their militaristic society. In
the late eighth century, Spartafought in a war with their neighbors in Messinia, but unlike other wars
in ancient Greece, the Spartans subjugated the entire population of Messinia, reducing them to
helots. These people worked for the Spartans, like slaves, doing everything and anything they
asked of them. The male children were taken from their mothers at young ages to serve the state,
learning the art of warfare. Spartan life had one purpose and that was meant to defend the state.
The Spartans were known for their capability to say a lot with little words and their
courageousness. The helots did all the

the New York subway system. Yes the subway is the easiest way to get around NYC, but for me
it not so much. My first time in NYC my parents decide that they wanted to use the subway to

Henry Ford s Ability To Identify And Attract Outstanding...
Henry Ford
The early history of Ford Motor Company illustrates one of Henry Ford s most important talents
an ability to identify and attract outstanding people. He hired a core of young hard working men
who believed in his vision and would make Ford Motor Company into one of the most successful
businesses in the world. The new company s first car, called the Model A, was followed by a
variety of improved models. In 1907 Ford s four cylinder, $600 Model N became the best selling
car in the country. But by this time Ford had a bigger vision: a better, cheaper motorcar for the

Model T sales rose steadily as the price dropped. By 1922 half the cars in America were Model
Ts and a new two passenger runabout could be had for as little as $269.In 1919, tired of
interference from the other investors in the company, Henry determined to buy them all out. The
result was several new Detroit millionaires and a Henry Ford who was the sole owner of the world s
largest automobile company. Ford named his 26 year old son Edsel as president, but it was Henry
who really ran things. Absolute power did not bring wisdom, however.Success had convinced
him of the superiority of his own intuition, and he continued to believe that the Model T was the
car most people wanted. He ignored the growing popularity of more expensive but more stylish
and comfortable cars like the Chevrolet, and would not listen to Edsel and other Ford executives
when they said it was time for a new model.By the late 1920s even Henry Ford could no longer
ignore the declining sales figures. In 1927 he reluctantly shut down the Model T assembly lines
and began designing an all new car. It appeared in December of 1927 and was such a departure
from the old Ford that the company went back to the beginning

The Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind
Introduction
The Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless mind is an Oscar winning alternative U.S. film released
March 19th 2004(IMDb 2015). It was produced by Focus Features and follows the dysfunctional
love story of Joel and Clementine. The film itself despite being strongly influenced by
Hollywood pays homage to other film movements such as surrealism and Soviet montage. The
film in itself was a struggle to be categorised, thought it has been described as a romance, black
comedy and many others that will later be explored. The director aimed to make this film timeless
and still stands to be as effective today as it was when it was released.
Production
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind is the brainchild of director Michel Gondry and scriptwriter
Charlie Kaufman. Steve Golin on of the crew on the film was quoted saying the two complement
each other. Michel is truly gifted at visualisation. But he also has a lot of soul. Charlie is
probably the most imaginative writer that I ve had the opportunity to work with. He creates
characters and situations that are relatable but very unusual and he also has very visual ideas.
(Dugdale H 2006). The film itself has utilises rawer filming aspects than a classic Hollywood
film. Instead of C.G.I the film uses camera techniques to make the characters smaller or larger in
scale (Dugdale H 2006). The film itself was categorised under many genres including romance,
drama, science fiction, black comedy, surrealism and realism. The

The Failure Of Tradition In Shirley Jackson s The Lottery
Would you stone your neighborhood to death for the sake of tradition? Shirley Jackson wrote
The Lottery in 1948 to tell a story about how savage people can be for tradition. The story is
about a small town who has a yearly lottery and the winner gets stoned to death by their neighbors.
The thought is that if you have a lottery, then you will have good crops that season. This short story
tells the tale of poor Tessie Hutchinson who is stoned by her own town, her son helps too. In the
short story The Lottery, Shirley Jackson argues that all people, regardless of how civilized they
may seem, are capable of great evil by contrasting seemingly pleasant and relatable details of the
town with the shocking barbarity of their tradition.
Despite the fact that they have yearly stonings, the townspeople are relatively nice. They have
many community gatherings that are happy, unlike the lottery. Mr. Summers conducts the lottery
along with the square dances, the teenage club, and Halloween program. It is very obvious that
Mr. Summers, is not a bad man, so he cannot, and should not be blamed for the lottery. The
lottery makes all the townspeople look cruel and dehumanizing, but they are not, it is just the
lottery that is awful. This goes to show that the people do horrible things even if they are not
horrible people. Secondly, all the town does the lottery so that they can have good crops that
season. Lottery in June, corn will be heavy soon. Good crops lead to good sales

Military Deployment Has Affected The Family System
Throughout many years, military deployment has affected the family system. Especially young
children are effected by their parents shipping overseas since they are still are trying to figure out
how to cope without guidance during their development into adult years. In this particular study,
researchers examined adolescents between the ages of 12 18 to determine their thoughts about their
parents going into war. More specifically, researchers wanted to study the children s experiences
with ambiguous loss within their military families. Researchers hope to find ways in prevention
and intervention in order to reduce the feeling of uncertainty within adolescents. Sociologists
determined that the ambiguous loss theory provides explanation of the youth s responses from the
study. If children are uncertain of their parents job entitlement then it helps with grieving, but may
lead to depression and effecting future relationship with others. When parental deployment occurs,
familylife becomes a catastrophe since they are present for a short time. According to Boss, it is
hard to set and organize roles and responsibilities in a family setting when one or both supervisors
are frequently away. Another factor that was a part of the research was the Double ABC X
framework, created by McCubbin and Patterson. The letter A was commonly seen during the
sample where parental deployment and other stress factors, such as getting an A on a test, bothered
the adolescent. In other words,

The Rosetta Stone By Thomas Halloran
The Rosetta Stone

The Rosetta Stone was a crucial part of deciphering hieroglyphs for mankind. The Rosetta Stone
is a large piece of dark grey granite. The Stone is three feet nine inches long and two feet four
inches wide. The stone approximately weighs a massive 1,680 pounds. Carved by the Egyptians in
196 B.C., the Stone contains a portion of text reflected in three scripts. One of the scripts,
Hieroglyphs, had not been deciphered when the Stone was discovered. The other two scripts are
Demotic and Classical Greek. Demotic is a language spoken by the Egyptians used in the Nile

Through their whole life time, they would go by a nickname. If someone knew a person s true
name they would gain magical powers over that person. This is one reason why when rulers of
Egypt took the throne they had their name changed. The afterlife was important to the Egyptians,
therefore the burial was important to them also. Some citizens were cremated and some were
mummified. The Egyptians mummy was created to retain the body of an individual making it so
the soul could achieve immortality.
One of the few technological advancements of the period was the papyrus,of which the English
word paper, comes from. The ramp and lever were also developed by the Ancient Egyptians. A
British anthropologist discovered objects in an ancient childs grave appearing to be used for
bowling, so it is possible that they developed the sport of bowling. They were advanced in
working with glass and metals such as, bronze and gold. Aswell as their precision and beauty when
it comes to architecture. They valued personal appearance and hygiene very highly. The Ancient
Egyptians regularly bathed and scented themselves in perfume and other incense. They created
cosmetics for both men and women. The Egyptians lived in a modest house, raised a family of their
own, and liked to relax when possible. Although a difference between Egyptian culture and these
other lands was that, they thought their lives were sewn together

Symbolism In John Steinbeck s The Grapes Of Wrath
The Grapes of Wrath is a novel written by John Steinbeck. This story explains how Tom Joads
and his family are forced to leave their home because a big business took over. This big business
caused families to change their whole life style, as well as starting a whole new life at a brand
new place. Steinbeck is trying to portray the disadvantage of a capitalist system through the
landowners who are taking advantage of small farmers and their family through the use of
symbolism. Steinbeck may have written this novel to show people what is going on at the time.
An example from the book is how it shows the consequences of a large business and the little
people that it effects. In the beginning of the book people are working on the land to survive.

about how Americans write and what a lot of faults is and also he is telling us how to write better

the alumni after a spell of campus unrest. In paragraph 3 it says the secret of good writing is to strip
every sentence to its cleanest components. The president did not do that . 4) What am I trying to

Zinsser s first and lasts paragraphs serve to introduce and conclude his essay very good because
he says in the beginning that Clutter is a disease of American writing and in the ending he says

Life On The Home Front During World War II

Life on the Home Front During World War II During the 1930s. the United States faced one of
the greatest economic depressions in history, known as the Great Depression. Since many people
essentially manipulated the stock market to their advantage, they eventually got richer. However,
on October 29,1929, the stock market crashed since so many people wanted to sell their stocks
but so few people wanted to buy these products, which caused prices to collapse. This led up to
issues such as banking crisis, where banks who invested so heavily on the stock market lost so
much money. In fact, people who deposited money lose everything they had. In addition, factories
that has overproduced goods had also lost tons of money since businesses were producing far more
goods than people were consuming. All these events that led to the Great Depression. Although
Franklin D. Roosevelt came into office in 1933 and released his plans known as the New Deal
which were essentially government programs that provided aid to Americans, it did not change the
fact that the economy was still largely suffering. Meanwhile, tensions in Europe also increased as
European countries were devastated from the hard times occurring in their nation. Following
totalitarianism as a political system, many European countries were led by dictators. One of the
most important dictator, was German leader Adolph Hitler. Germany, who had lost a lot power and

Analysis Of Living Under Circe s Spell Letter
The personal essays Living Under Circe s Spell written by Matthew Soyster and On Being a
Cripple written by Nancy Mairs both share experiences and what it is like to live life as a person
that suffers from Multiple Sclerosis, otherwise known as MS, through the use of pathos, and
patterns. Both of these authors appeal to the readers emotions while talking about their life and
how difficult it is to live with such a disease. Soyster and Mairs create patterns as they
continually talk about their past lives. They always refer back to the past, which shows the reader
how some people can live in the past or can simply learn from it. The authors bring up different
opinions of living with MS by creating their tones when using pathos and patterns. Soyster and
Mairs use pathos and patterns to strengthen their essays and convey their lives as a person suffering
from the Multiple Sclerosisdisease. Soyster s Living Under Circe s Spell and Mairs s On Being a
Cripple both use emotional appeals to describe how living with Multiple Sclerosis truly is. The
authors use of pathos helps the reader to connect to Soyster and Mairs s stories more and really
understand and sympathize with them. Soyster s use of pathos is more to show how hard and
deep it strikes you to find out that you have MS and the sense of defeat that one gains from it.

Compare And Contrast Sonnet 60 And 64
Sonnets 60 and 64 are about the effects of time. This is a recurrent theme in Shakespeare s
poems. Through the use of imagery, Shakespeare provides relatable experiences to describe the
passage of time. Sonnet 60 provides three examples of the passage of time the first is waves
moving towards a shore, the second is a child growing to maturity, and the third is time s effects on
the beauty of youth. Sonnet 64 provides three of Shakespeare s personal experiences the first is
time s effects on towers and brass, the second is the ocean and a shore, the third is the change of
condition of things. Both sonnets have similarities and differences in themes, structure, and speech
acts.
Sonnets 60 and 64 have a similar theme of Time destroying things and eventually taking his love
away. The difference is that sonnet 60 has a more hopeful ending than sonnet 64. In the couplet of
sonnet 60 Shakespeare has hope that his verse will stand against time and the poem ... Show more

In both sonnets the word confound is used to describe the actions of Time. This word in both

gain, main, state, decay, ruminate, and away. This repetition could symbolize that Time s effects
are constant. The poem also ends with the word lose so this could mean Time s effects are
constant until the thing it is effecting is lost. There is one subject per quatrain in sonnet 60. In
quatrain one the subject is waves, quatrain two the subject is nativity, and in quatrain three the
subject is Time. In sonnet 64 there is only one main subject and verb which is I and the verb is

The Pros And Cons Of The Gun Control Movement
In the words of Dr. Suzanna Gratia Hupp ВЁ A politician stands on the Second Amendment tells
you how he or she views you as an individual... as a trustworthy and productive citizen, or as part
of an unruly crowd that needs to be lorded over, controlled, supervised, and taken care ofВЁ. Both
the pro gun and anti gun movements raise some persuasive and plausible points about their sides.
The anti gun movement has a history of an oppressive, racist and totalitarian way of trying to
control people s right to bear arms which in no way prevented gun violence. The gun control
movement as a whole doesn t care about protecting citizens but it instead wants to give the federal
government more control over its citizens.
The earliest forms of gun control in America had barred the sale of guns to Indians, African
Americans, Catholic, and indentured servants. Now the anti gun movement uses these early forms
of gun control to justify their actions against guns, but the early forms of gun control had targeted
groups and ethnic minorities of people who being oppressed because they didn t want those
groups to rise up against their racist and oppressive system. Spitzer, Robert J. Five Myths about
Gun Control. The Washington Post, WP Company, 21 Dec. 2012. Even after the colonial period in
America gun control such as the black codes were used to suppress African Americans right to bear
arms and it also left them defenseless to the terror that was being imposed on them by white
supremacist groups and corrupt local governments.
The common argument that the anti gun movement push is that high caliber weapons mainly so
called ВЁassault riflesВЁ cause mass destruction and that they kill thousands of people a year.
They also claim that there is no use for the weapons and they wish to impose a nationwide ban on
ВЁassault riflesВЁ. Now to the average American the term ВЁassault rifleВЁ may sound
intimidating but anti gun politicians use this term to scare Americans into thinking that a regular
semi automatic rifle is an fully automatic machine which it is not. The most common rifle that the
movement goes after is the ar 15 which is a semi automatic rifle. Now according to FBI crime
statistics rifles accounted for 285 of murders in 2013,

Persuasive Essay About Surfing
Surfing isn t easy, but it is very exciting and addicting. If you are someone who likes non contact
sports, and enjoys being outside, this is the sport for you. Unlike a lot of other sports, you are
hot and sweaty in a gym, however surfing in the ocean makes you feel cool on a hot day. If you
are a beginner, it may be very challenging to catch a wave. It is recommended to use a soft foam
board. These boards are lightweight, don t require wax, and easy to get up and stand on. Before
you decide to get in water, you need to make sure that you find the right spot with just enough
waves. I would not recommend going into an area with very big waves because surfingas a beginner,
it would be very overwhelming. As a beginner, when catching a wave, you want to be waist deep

to lay back down on your stomach and start paddling immediately, and very fast. Once the wave
is about to break, very quickly, hop up onto your feet and keep them planted, your knees bent, and
your eyes toward where you want to go. It is very important to be patient. You will not become an

As we know, there was a prominent debate on Nurture versus Nature in the field of psychology.
Psychologists fought against each other to assert their own theories and statements. Nowadays,
people have reached a consensus on this topic that the environment and the genes actually interact
with each other and eventually lead to the typical features of individuals. Evidently, parent is one
key topic in various child development theories since parents generally provide the whole living
environment for children. For example, it is one dominant component of the microsystem in
Bronfenbrenner s ecological approach.Parenting styles are referred as the general traits and
characteristics of the strategies that parents used to deal with their children. There are 4 types of
parenting styles which were divided by responsiveness and demandingness: authoritarian,
authoritative, uninvolved and permissive. And it is not surprising that different parenting styles
would likely generate divergent youth outcomes. Authoritarian parenting is known as high
demandingness yet low responsiveness. Authoritarian parents are associated with the use of both
psychological control and behavioral control. Parents will set harsh rules for their kids without any
explanation or discussion. The relationship between parents and adolescents is tense. And conflicts
will burst out during adolescence in both high intensity and high frequency. Therefore, these kinds
of parenting generally have negative

A Public Health Assessment ( Pre Pha )
SUMMARY
INTRODUCTION
In this Preliminary Public Health Assessment (Pre PHA), we evaluated exposure of the Milneburge
neighborhood community to contaminants in response to their public health complaint with the
City of New Orleans. . The homeowners in the neighborhood started to complain of nausea,
headache, and dyspnea when they work in their back yards and reported water runoff and soil
erosion from the waste management site. So, they were really concerned about their children
health because they used to play in the area. As a result of that, we evaluated some polycyclic
aromatic hydrocarbons. Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) are chemical compounds found
in nature or released from burning of coal, oil, tobacco, and wood. Some of these compounds are
toxic to lung, liver, and skin. By such Pre PHA, We can know if the site is extremely contaminated
or not and we can assure residents and give them answers about their concerns.
SITE TIMELINE Our site is a land in the northwestern region of the French Quarter. In the early
20th century, the New Orleans Land Co. owned the land when it was grown up to a modern
neighborhood with subdivisions and street network after spending a lot of money. In 1917, the
Rosemount cemetery was constructed upon it. Millard University bought the whole land in 1940
and by 1961, the University sold the trapezoidal open land to an industrial waste company. They
established incinerators and worked for almost 8 years. In 1980, the City of

Permanent Impact of the Counter-Culture on Today s...
What is not illusionary is the reality of a new culture of opposition. It grows out of the

Another way that changed or become popular with the exposure of a counter culture in the
sixties and had shaped the American society was the growth of the rock music, increase of drug,
alcohol abuse and freedom about sex. Hippies were basically blithe about a lot of things that
they did not like. These were signs to get noticed about how they wished to get away from the
American culture. One of their slogans was, Get every creature so stoned they can t stand the
plastic shit of American culture (1960 s 200). A history professor, Terry H. Anderson wrote,
Hippies commonly took drugs to expand their consciousness, to rebel against the establishment
and to enhance their own sense of being different (200). They were mainly dissenters who liked
experimenting. New drugs came out continuously but the most popular ones were LSD,
marijuana, certain hallucinogens, heroin and alcohol. Surveys from the sixties show that in
early sixties only 4 percent of people from ages 18 to 25 had tried marijuana and twelve years
after, it was 50 percent in the nation as a whole and 60 percent for college students and even
higher in some universities. (201). 1960 s became a drug culture during that era. The rise in drugs
and alcohol usage during the sixties is a cause of the considerable drug and alcohol abuse in the

The Better Brazilian Butt Lift with Tickle Lipo
What is a Brazilian Butt Lift?
One of the fastest growing trends in plastic surgery is the Brazilian Butt Lift. Patients are actively
seeking to get curves in all the right places, and the buttocks are no exception. What is this trendy
plastic surgery procedure anyway?
Brazilian Butt Lift is the nickname for transferring fat from other parts of the body and placing it in
the buttocks. Using liposuction, the surgeon will harvest fat from areas of your body like the
abdomen, waist, and hips to create a smaller midsection. From there, the surgeon will inject your fat
into areas of the buttocks that are flat or where more projection is desired. Brazilian Butt Lift can
turn your stubborn areas of unwanted fat into the hour glass figure many patients desire.
It is important to understand that not all forms of liposuction can be used in the Brazilian Butt Lift
procedure. Liposuction procedures that destroy fat cells cannot be used. For example, laser
assisted liposuction melts and destroys fat cells. Fat cells need to be alive to have a successful
outcome when transferred. Traditional liposuction and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

the fat cells adapt to their new environment more effectively, as opposed to just placing all of the
volume beneath the skin. Local anesthesia does not reach all the areas where Dr. Rod is placing fat

Examples Of Anti-Hero In Inception
An anti hero can be defined as a character with a pivotal role in a story and possess traits
contrasted with those of a traditional hero. While the traditional heroic character is brave, strong,
and seems to have no flaws, anti hero character can be clumsy, unsolicited foolish, is often the
embodiment of ineptitude or bad luck and is an amalgamation of both good and evil. An anti
heroic character in a story can display a wide variety of traits while still fitting in the anti herorole.
Earnes and Yusuf from the film Inception portrays an anti hero persona in different ways, both
characters are distinctively contrasting but yet similarly alike.
Eames is a character with many talents and is a suave, smoothly attracting people easily. He also

Traveling Through The Dark Rhyme Scheme
Traveling through the Dark by William E. Stafford
In the poem Traveling through the Dark by William E. Stafford, there is a individual that had been
peacefully traveling alongside a mountainside road, and he spots a dead female deer that had been
recently killed. Upon closer inspection of the deer, it appeared that she was pregnant with a fawn
that was never to be born. This gave the speaker a sense of hesitation, while he attempted to come
up with a plan that would address the carcass lying in the middle of the road. The sheer rush of
adrenaline that the speaker had faced, as the wilderness watched his every move. The wilderness in
this story, had held the title as the natural world, everything that has ever existed, and anything that

Right off the bat, we can tell that this poem is based on the free verse type of poetry, as it doesn t
have any particular rhyming scheme. It only occasionally contained half rhymes, such as the words
road and dead . Stafford was known for not having a rhyme scheme in his poems, although
occasionally in a few of his poems, he would like to include it. Seeing as though there was no
regular rhyme scheme, we are also able to tell that the poem does in fact have a irregular meter,
meaning there is little to no rhyme between the lines. Now we venture off into diction, which
stands for the choice of words while writing to convey a typical mood. While reading the poem,
we can see the speaker trying to paint a picture of a gloomy night. He demonstrates this by
saying: traveling through the dark , that road is narrow; to swerve might make more dead and
finally, then pushed her over the edge into the river. Stafford wanted to make us feel the same
stress the speaker was in at the time, by painting this picture, so we the readers can envision what
is actually happening. If we move on to imagery, we can see that when the speaker states that the
doe was large in the belly, inferring that there is a unborn fawn in the deer. This was an example of
fine imagery, to which the speaker wanted to demonstrate a vivid idea

happiness, depression, illness and much more. Sometimes occurrences happen that can t be

Mary is dealing with in the short story A Journey from 2006 by Colm TГіibin.
The short story heavily revolves around the protagonist woman Mary and her depressed son. The

The first paragraph from line 1 to 21 is a flashback which gives the reader information about
David, Mary and their relationship. If that paragraph was gone the reader wouldn t know that
Mary and her husband Seamus might have neglected their son a little which is crucial to
understanding why the son is depressed as an adult. The flashbacks also illustrates how the
family s past life has changed with the years, such as how David ...follow her around asking her

answer her questions. Another important flashback is when Mary thinks back to when her father
was dying and she sat with him In the months when he was dying, when he seemed so mild and
good humoured, Mary stayed on alone with him and sat with him (P.3, L. 114 116). Whereas
David doesn t care about his father s health. The flashbacks points the reader to the parallels
between the past and now and this is important considering without it the reader may have thought
that David was quiet since he was a kid but back then he was quite lively and

The Causes Of The European Colonization Of North America
The European conquest of North America was not inevitable. Small groups of Europeans claimed
large areas densely populated by hostile Indian nations. The English and Spanish faced particularly
fierce resistance from the Wampanoag and Pueblo peoples in present day New England and the
American Southwest. The Wampanoags and Pueblos both revolted against European colonization
and conquest in 1675 and 1680 due to attacks on their sovereignty, attacks on their welfare, and
mass death. The Pueblos were more successful than the Wampanoags because they gained from the
revolts while the New England Nations lost everything during King Philip s War. In both cases,
Indian nations formed the first pan indigenous, anti European alliances, and Europeans secured a
beachhead in North America King Philip s War began due to escalating Puritan attacks on
Wampanoagsovereignty, forcing the Confederacy into a war for survival. The path to war began in
1662 when the Wampanoag Chief Metacomet rose to power. He denounced illegal Puritan seizure
of Wampanoag traditional hunting grounds. On multiple occasions, English settlers jailed
Wampanoag hunters for trespassing on ancestral Indian lands. This attack on Wampanoag
sovereignty denied that Indians could have a legitimate claim to their own territory. By
accomplishing this, English colonists could declare the Indian s authority void as an excuse to take
more land. Relations soured in December of 1674 when John Sassamon, a Christian Indian, was
murdered by Wampanoags for reporting Metacomet s war preparations to the English. Puritans
arrested three Wampanoags, tried them for murder, and hanged them. This was the first time
English tried an Indian for crimes against another Indian. The trial demonstrated that the English
believed they also had authority over Metacomet s people. By using the English courts to try an
Indian on Indian murder, the Puritans again claimed the Wampanoags had no authority, and
therefore were not worthy of respect as a nation. This disrespect allowed the Puritans to see them
not as people, but as pests to be removed from their land. Beliefs such as this led to further
escalation by the Puritan leaders. Tensions rose, and Metacomet formed a coalition

The Abolishment Of Slavery In Colonial America
After years of public momentum within Britain, Parliament abolished the British slave trade in
1807. This was not the end, but in many ways, the beginning of what became a struggle toward the
complete abolishment of slavery throughout the Empire. This endeavor lasted well into the mid
nineteenth century as those within the planter class were not swayed by the moral arguments
commonly utilized by the abolitionist movement. While large efforts did revolve around preventing
smuggling within the coastal waters of Africa, Britain faced ensuing contention from many of its
citizens who continued the illegal importation of slaves into the British West Indies. This group had
built fortunes upon the many plantations in the Caribbeanand were unwilling to give up their
operations based primarily on arguments of the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Untold personal wealth was, either directly or indirectly, correlated to these intuitions of slavery,
and as described by Hilary Beckles in his writing on the colonial Caribbean, plantation culture was
in every respect symbolic of the signs of the times. These planters were not outliers from British
culture, but in innumerable ways were a precise representation of the Empire itself. Perhaps, it was
in their direct association to their fellow countrymen, that the planters within this region faced
continual notice from abolitionists. This was only magnified with the actuality that the planter
group still maintained the ownership of slaves, despite social pressures headed from abolitionist
groups. Regardless, many in Great Britain did not realize the degree to which the planter class had
become incorporated into all of society. While many plantation owners still did reside in the
Caribbean, it had become common for operations to be handed over to supervisors and
administrators, thus creating a group who were in fact quite isolated from the actuality of slave

Biological And Social Norms Of Gender Roles
Introduction
In general, social psychology looks at how people think about one another, but as well as how
they influence and relate to each other (Myers, 2014, pg. 554). Gender plays a fascinating role
within our social settings. Biological sex defines gender, however biology and social
characteristics help define a male and a female (Myers, 2014, pg.154). Gender roles are behaviours
that a culture would typically expect from both male and females (Myers, 2014, pg.159). Our
expectations for things like the parent that stays home with the children, shopping, driving, and
who pays for dinner on a date come from these gender roles. Gender roles bring up questions
around biology versus our cultural surroundings and how gender roles become developed ... Show

In this story Kody s actions are learned first through the observations of others in his
neighborhood or school. People all around him at the time were deciding to join gangs; it was
the thing to do. During his initiation he observed what the others did when it was his turn to
shoot at the people in the streets, and after he shot and potentially killed them he was praised
and rewarded with officially being a member of the gang. After that night his gang members
positively reinforced him anytime he killed or hurt anyone from the enemy gangs, at times even
civilians. Even while his mother was disapproving and there was a potential for severe
punishment from the police, the positive reinforcement from his friends was more powerful
because of his level of respect and admiration for them. An aspect of this theory that Albert
Bandura claims teaches people violence is behavioral modeling, which states that people learn
how to act by modeling what they have seen others do. This is shown throughout the book
because Kody ends up joining a gang, like many others that he knows have done, and he goes
along with what other people in the gang are doing and saying. He grows up around his gang
members and fashions his behaviors to be similar to the ones that he looks up to, and this behavior

large amount of power within the United States. This power spans to a number of areas, but
perhaps one of the most commonly heard of is executive order. However, though many have
inevitably heard these words how many can say that they truly know what they mean? Not only
this, but once an understanding of this power has been set in place the question of what types of
checks and balances are set in place to keep this power in line with the Constitution is still
present. Therefore, through the course of this paper these two questions will be addressed. To
begin, a definition of executive orders will be given, as well as, an explanation of the authority
under which this power works. So, an executive order is a written form which the president uses to

A man who was a Justice is the one who established a tripartite scheme for determining if a
president overstepped his or her bounds. This tripartite boiled down to the presidents power to act
if Congress had approved, the presidents ability to act on independent power when Congress is
silent on the matter, and the presidents ability to act in his or her own domain disputed Congress s
objection. This framework is one that has withstood the test of time and ultimately helped
Congress establish when an executive order is still in line with the Constitution and when it is not.
In the end, the reason why these checks and balances have to be in place is because without them
the president could attempt to act outside of what this power actually provides. Historically this
has already happened, and that is why Justice Jackson created a way to decide whether or not the

The first quadrant of the graph was used so the shaded portion goes to the origin before it stops at
the two axes.
The point on the graph in the shaded area would be (50, 40). That would mean that 50 feet would
be used for classic rockers and we would use 40 feet for the modern rocker that would be needed.
So to see if the order could be filled we will plug them in to the equation: 15c (50) = 750c for
classic 12m (40) = 480m which equals 750 + 480 = 1230. We can fill the order.
Another point on the graph that is outside the shaded area would be (150, 100). 150 would be for
the classic rocker and 100 for modern. Now, we plug them in to the equation to see if the order can
be filled. 15c (150) = 2250 for classic 12m (100) = 1200 which equals 2250 + 1200 = 3450 which
means the order can t be filled. Now if we use the point on the line we will have (124, 95). So 124
for the classic and 95 for the maple. Let plug them in the equation. 15c (124) = 1860 for classic.
12m (95) = 1140 which equals 1860 + 1128 = 3000, which means we will have enough to fill the
order. Now to see if we can fill the order from the fax we have received. Which was 125 for the
classic and 175 for modern. Let us plug them into the equation. 15c (125) = 1875, 12m (175) =

Haydn Farewell Symphony Essay
Since the early 19th century, Haydn, Mozart and Beethoven have been venerated as the first of the
three Viennese classics. Franz Joseph Haydn (1732 1809) was an Austrian composer who began
his career in the traditional patronage system of the late Austrian Baroque and ended as a free artist
within the burgeoning Romanticism of the early 19th century. He was one of the most celebrated
composers of his time and a culture hero throughout Europe. He is familiarly known as the father of
the symphony. Beethoven (1770 1827) was a German composer and a pupil of Haydn s. His early
achievements show him extending the Viennese classical tradition inherited from Haydn and
Mozart but his later work was composed in an increasingly individual musical style.... Show more

As the father of the four movement form of the classical period, is was no surprise that his Farewell
Symphony included the Allegro assai, Adagio, menuet and trio, and the finale Presto movements.
The symphony has an unusual and complex tonal scheme, involving three different structural
tonics, F sharp minor, A major, and F sharp major; the double finale incorporates all three. The F

process involves all aspects of the music including tonality, rhythm, form, instrumentation, dynamics
and psychological content. Beethoven also uses a four movement form but includes Allegro,
Scherzo, Adagio and Presto Allegro. The formal structure of the movements, while generally
adhering to the Classical models, charted new territory. The first movement, although in Classical
sonata form, confounds listeners first by rising to a fortissimo climax in the harmonically unstable
exposition section and then by delaying a return to the home key. The scherzo is placed as the
second movement, rather than the customary third, and the third movement is a mostly restful,
almost prayerful adagio. The last movement builds from a gentle beginning into a brazen finale,
while recalling some of the themes from earlier movements and once the Ode

Duality In A Clockwork Orange
A Clockwork Orange Duality as the ultimate reality
Harriet McLean

Burgess disturbing yet confrontational novel A Clockwork Orange entices it s audience, demanding
them to question strong controversial social issues comprising of the right of free will, the

Consequently, citizens have unconsciously fallen into a passive vacancy of satisfaction, unaware of
the shocking growth of a violent and destructive youth culture. The novel is divided into three parts.
In the first section you are following the protagonist Alex and his gang , who all lack a complete
sense of morality, through a first person narrative. As section two commences, we transition into
the Ludovico technique used on Alex by the government in an attempts to brainwash him into
being a model citizen . Effectively, this denies him the opportunity to be a moral agent and freely
have the choice between what is right and what is morally wrong. Thus Burgess opens the debate
of freedom against invoked obedience and what others believe is the best for

Misinterpreting Of The Book The Bible Is Everything 1.If you carefully consider the surrounding context of a passage, but ignore its literary genre, it could result in significant consequences, such as, committing damage to the original meaning of the text. It is important to take the text into consideration because it gives relevance to the meaning. Duvall and Hays explains in their book how the Bibleis everything . • 3. Epoch Of Helen Helen of Troy is regarded as the most beautiful woman in the world. She is desired by every man, and she essentially started The Trojan War, which lasted 10 years. Helen is a central figure in various Greek mythological stories for her beauty as well as for her decisions and actions. Despite these main similarities, in various stories Helenis depicted totally differently. The way in which Helen is portrayed is different from epoch to epoch, and from culture to culture. The three main epochs that contain stories of Helen are the ancient Greek era, the medieval Christian era, and the contemporary era. The two main Greek stories including Helen are Homer s Iliadand Odyssey. The main medieval Christian story including Helen is Dante s Inferno.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Every man desired her, yet she was stuck with an ugly King Menelaus, the ruler of the Spartans. Helen, however, did know her sheer beauty and because of this she was very frivolous, and that led to her being unfaithful to Menelaus, and she ran off with Paris, son of Priam, the ruler of Troy. Troy was a rival city state of the Spartans, and thus a war begun over Helen. Homer describes Helen s beauty to that of a goddess. He writes, Helen came out of her scented chamber, a moving grace like Artemis, straight as a shaft of gold (The Odyssey, Book IV). This shows how elegant Helen was due to the many rich and beautiful comparisons. Homer further goes on the describe the scene using more and more extravagant comparisons. The words that Homer uses to describe Helen and the characterization of her really gives the reader a full understanding of her influence on a man s desires. All men desired her. She was essentially the Aphrodite of the real world, and Homer carefully worded his writings to depict that. Furthermore, the fact that men were willing to risk their lives in battle over her significantly shows how influential Helen s beauty is to the ancient Greeks. The mood of the Odyssey and the Iliad also helps to understand the desires of the ancient Greeks. The moods of both stories shift greatly from book to book, but the overall mood is excitement and action. Ultimately, at the end of the action the winner will get their desires, which in this case is Helen, since she is the desire of the Spartans and Trojans. The Iliad is mainly about strength and how that can lead to one s desires. The Odyssey is about wit and how intelligence can also lead one to his/her desires. Helen is essentially set up as the prize or each competitors desire, and the excitement and action is the mood that leads up to this. Homer s depiction of Helen is very conventional. She is the most ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Strengths And Weaknesses Of Ancient Sparta And Athens Ancient Greece is known for its two rival city states, Athens and Sparta. It was the strengths of these two societies that brought the ancient world to its heights in art, culture and with the defeat of the Persians, warfare. With Athens and Sparta fighting for power and territory, it brought about the Peloponnesian wars that lasted thirty years, leaving the two city states in their own shadows. The classical era was helped shaped from the works of Homer, The Illiad and The Odyssey, that in a way, created a set of rules and an ethnic identity for the Greeks. The heroic achievements of Odysseus and the other Achaeans served as role models for the Greeks which told them how to behave and how not to behave in many situations, especially on the battle field and in competition. Around 800 B.C. the Spartans were founded by Lycurgus and known for their militaristic society. In the late eighth century, Spartafought in a war with their neighbors in Messinia, but unlike other wars in ancient Greece, the Spartans subjugated the entire population of Messinia, reducing them to helots. • 9. The Failure Of Tradition In Shirley Jackson s The Lottery Would you stone your neighborhood to death for the sake of tradition? Shirley Jackson wrote The Lottery in 1948 to tell a story about how savage people can be for tradition. The story is about a small town who has a yearly lottery and the winner gets stoned to death by their neighbors. The thought is that if you have a lottery, then you will have good crops that season. This short story tells the tale of poor Tessie Hutchinson who is stoned by her own town, her son helps too. In the short story The Lottery, Shirley Jackson argues that all people, regardless of how civilized they may seem, are capable of great evil by contrasting seemingly pleasant and relatable details of the town with the shocking barbarity of their tradition. Despite the fact that they have yearly stonings, the townspeople are relatively nice. They have many community gatherings that are happy, unlike the lottery. Mr. Summers conducts the lottery along with the square dances, the teenage club, and Halloween program. It is very obvious that Mr. Summers, is not a bad man, so he cannot, and should not be blamed for the lottery. The lottery makes all the townspeople look cruel and dehumanizing, but they are not, it is just the lottery that is awful. In this particular study, researchers examined adolescents between the ages of 12 18 to determine their thoughts about their parents going into war. More specifically, researchers wanted to study the children s experiences with ambiguous loss within their military families. Researchers hope to find ways in prevention and intervention in order to reduce the feeling of uncertainty within adolescents. Sociologists determined that the ambiguous loss theory provides explanation of the youth s responses from the study. If children are uncertain of their parents job entitlement then it helps with grieving, but may lead to depression and effecting future relationship with others. When parental deployment occurs, familylife becomes a catastrophe since they are present for a short time. According to Boss, it is hard to set and organize roles and responsibilities in a family setting when one or both supervisors are frequently away. Life On The Home Front During World War II Mahmudul Rapi 841 Life on the Home Front During World War II During the 1930s. the United States faced one of the greatest economic depressions in history, known as the Great Depression. Since many people essentially manipulated the stock market to their advantage, they eventually got richer. However, on October 29,1929, the stock market crashed since so many people wanted to sell their stocks but so few people wanted to buy these products, which caused prices to collapse. This led up to issues such as banking crisis, where banks who invested so heavily on the stock market lost so much money. In fact, people who deposited money lose everything they had. In addition, factories that has overproduced goods had also lost tons of money since businesses were producing far more goods than people were consuming. The Pros And Cons Of The Gun Control Movement In the words of Dr. Suzanna Gratia Hupp ВЁ A politician stands on the Second Amendment tells you how he or she views you as an individual... as a trustworthy and productive citizen, or as part of an unruly crowd that needs to be lorded over, controlled, supervised, and taken care ofВЁ. Both the pro gun and anti gun movements raise some persuasive and plausible points about their sides. The anti gun movement has a history of an oppressive, racist and totalitarian way of trying to control people s right to bear arms which in no way prevented gun violence. The gun control movement as a whole doesn t care about protecting citizens but it instead wants to give the federal government more control over its citizens. The earliest forms of gun control in America had barred the sale of guns to Indians, African Americans, Catholic, and indentured servants. Now the anti gun movement uses these early forms of gun control to justify their actions against guns, but the early forms of gun control had targeted groups and ethnic minorities of people who being oppressed because they didn t want those groups to rise up against their racist and oppressive system. Spitzer, Robert J. Five Myths about Gun Control. The Washington Post, WP Company, 21 Dec. 2012. Even after the colonial period in America gun control such as the black codes were used to suppress African Americans right to bear arms and it also left them defenseless to the terror that was being imposed on them by white supremacist groups and corrupt local governments. The common argument that the anti gun movement push is that high caliber weapons mainly so called ВЁassault riflesВЁ cause mass destruction and that they kill thousands of people a year. They also claim that there is no use for the weapons and they wish to impose a nationwide ban on ВЁassault riflesВЁ. Anderson wrote, Hippies commonly took drugs to expand their consciousness, to rebel against the establishment and to enhance their own sense of being different (200). They were mainly dissenters who liked experimenting. New drugs came out continuously but the most popular ones were LSD, marijuana, certain hallucinogens, heroin and alcohol. Surveys from the sixties show that in early sixties only 4 percent of people from ages 18 to 25 had tried marijuana and twelve years after, it was 50 percent in the nation as a whole and 60 percent for college students and even higher in some universities. • 26. Brazilian Bottle Shifting Essay The Better Brazilian Butt Lift with Tickle Lipo What is a Brazilian Butt Lift? One of the fastest growing trends in plastic surgery is the Brazilian Butt Lift. Patients are actively seeking to get curves in all the right places, and the buttocks are no exception. What is this trendy plastic surgery procedure anyway? Brazilian Butt Lift is the nickname for transferring fat from other parts of the body and placing it in the buttocks. Using liposuction, the surgeon will harvest fat from areas of your body like the abdomen, waist, and hips to create a smaller midsection. From there, the surgeon will inject your fat into areas of the buttocks that are flat or where more projection is desired. Brazilian Butt Lift can turn your stubborn areas of unwanted fat into the hour glass figure many patients desire. It is important to understand that not all forms of liposuction can be used in the Brazilian Butt Lift procedure. Liposuction procedures that destroy fat cells cannot be used. For example, laser assisted liposuction melts and destroys fat cells. Fat cells need to be alive to have a successful outcome when transferred. Traditional liposuction and ... Stafford, there is a individual that had been peacefully traveling alongside a mountainside road, and he spots a dead female deer that had been recently killed. Upon closer inspection of the deer, it appeared that she was pregnant with a fawn that was never to be born. This gave the speaker a sense of hesitation, while he attempted to come up with a plan that would address the carcass lying in the middle of the road. Right off the bat, we can tell that this poem is based on the free verse type of poetry, as it doesn t have any particular rhyming scheme. It only occasionally contained half rhymes, such as the words road and dead . Stafford was known for not having a rhyme scheme in his poems, although occasionally in a few of his poems, he would like to include it. Seeing as though there was no regular rhyme scheme, we are also able to tell that the poem does in fact have a irregular meter, meaning there is little to no rhyme between the lines. Now we venture off into diction, which stands for the choice of words while writing to convey a typical mood. While reading the poem, we can see the speaker trying to paint a picture of a gloomy night. He demonstrates this by saying: traveling through the dark , that road is narrow; to swerve might make more dead and finally, then pushed her over the edge into the river. Stafford wanted to make us feel the same stress the speaker was in at the time, by painting this picture, so we the readers can envision what is actually happening. If we move on to imagery, we can see that when the speaker states that the doe was large in the belly, inferring that there is a unborn fawn in the deer. • 30. The Causes Of The European Colonization Of North America The European conquest of North America was not inevitable. Small groups of Europeans claimed large areas densely populated by hostile Indian nations. The English and Spanish faced particularly fierce resistance from the Wampanoag and Pueblo peoples in present day New England and the American Southwest. The Wampanoags and Pueblos both revolted against European colonization and conquest in 1675 and 1680 due to attacks on their sovereignty, attacks on their welfare, and mass death. The Pueblos were more successful than the Wampanoags because they gained from the revolts while the New England Nations lost everything during King Philip s War. In both cases, Indian nations formed the first pan indigenous, anti European alliances, and Europeans secured a beachhead in North America King Philip s War began due to escalating Puritan attacks on Wampanoagsovereignty, forcing the Confederacy into a war for survival. The path to war began in 1662 when the Wampanoag Chief Metacomet rose to power. He denounced illegal Puritan seizure of Wampanoag traditional hunting grounds. On multiple occasions, English settlers jailed Wampanoag hunters for trespassing on ancestral Indian lands. This attack on Wampanoag sovereignty denied that Indians could have a legitimate claim to their own territory. By accomplishing this, English colonists could declare the Indian s authority void as an excuse to take more land. Relations soured in December of 1674 when John Sassamon, a Christian Indian, was murdered by Wampanoags for reporting Metacomet s war preparations to the English. Puritans arrested three Wampanoags, tried them for murder, and hanged them. This was the first time English tried an Indian for crimes against another Indian. The trial demonstrated that the English believed they also had authority over Metacomet s people. By using the English courts to try an Indian on Indian murder, the Puritans again claimed the Wampanoags had no authority, and therefore were not worthy of respect as a nation. This disrespect allowed the Puritans to see them not as people, but as pests to be removed from their land. Beliefs such as this led to further escalation by the Puritan leaders. This was not the end, but in many ways, the beginning of what became a struggle toward the complete abolishment of slavery throughout the Empire. This endeavor lasted well into the mid nineteenth century as those within the planter class were not swayed by the moral arguments commonly utilized by the abolitionist movement. While large efforts did revolve around preventing smuggling within the coastal waters of Africa, Britain faced ensuing contention from many of its citizens who continued the illegal importation of slaves into the British West Indies. Perhaps, it was in their direct association to their fellow countrymen, that the planters within this region faced continual notice from abolitionists. This was only magnified with the actuality that the planter group still maintained the ownership of slaves, despite social pressures headed from abolitionist groups. Regardless, many in Great Britain did not realize the degree to which the planter class had become incorporated into all of society. Gender roles are behaviours that a culture would typically expect from both male and females (Myers, 2014, pg.159). During his initiation he observed what the others did when it was his turn to shoot at the people in the streets, and after he shot and potentially killed them he was praised and rewarded with officially being a member of the gang. After that night his gang members positively reinforced him anytime he killed or hurt anyone from the enemy gangs, at times even civilians. Even while his mother was disapproving and there was a potential for severe punishment from the police, the positive reinforcement from his friends was more powerful because of his level of respect and admiration for them. An aspect of this theory that Albert Bandura claims teaches people violence is behavioral modeling, which states that people learn how to act by modeling what they have seen others do. This is shown throughout the book because Kody ends up joining a gang, like many others that he knows have done, and he goes along with what other people in the gang are doing and saying. Not only this, but once an understanding of this power has been set in place the question of what types of checks and balances are set in place to keep this power in line with the Constitution is still present. Therefore, through the course of this paper these two questions will be addressed. To begin, a definition of executive orders will be given, as well as, an explanation of the authority under which this power works. This framework is one that has withstood the test of time and ultimately helped Congress establish when an executive order is still in line with the Constitution and when it is not. In the end, the reason why these checks and balances have to be in place is because without them the president could attempt to act outside of what this power actually provides. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The first quadrant of the graph was used so the shaded portion goes to the origin before it stops at the two axes. The point on the graph in the shaded area would be (50, 40). That would mean that 50 feet would be used for classic rockers and we would use 40 feet for the modern rocker that would be needed. So to see if the order could be filled we will plug them in to the equation: 15c (50) = 750c for classic 12m (40) = 480m which equals 750 + 480 = 1230. We can fill the order. Another point on the graph that is outside the shaded area would be (150, 100). 150 would be for the classic rocker and 100 for modern. Now, we plug them in to the equation to see if the order can be filled. 15c (150) = 2250 for classic 12m (100) = 1200 which equals 2250 + 1200 = 3450 which means the order can t be filled. Now if we use the point on the line we will have (124, 95). So 124 for the classic and 95 for the maple. Let plug them in the equation. 15c (124) = 1860 for classic. 12m (95) = 1140 which equals 1860 + 1128 = 3000, which means we will have enough to fill the order. As the father of the four movement form of the classical period, is was no surprise that his Farewell Symphony included the Allegro assai, Adagio, menuet and trio, and the finale Presto movements. The symphony has an unusual and complex tonal scheme, involving three different structural tonics, F sharp minor, A major, and F sharp major; the double finale incorporates all three. The F sharp minor projects something inherently unstable which demands, and receives resolution by the tonic major, which is gradual, complex and a systematic change from instability to stability. This process involves all aspects of the music including tonality, rhythm, form, instrumentation, dynamics and psychological content. Beethoven also uses a four movement form but includes Allegro, Scherzo, Adagio and Presto Allegro. The formal structure of the movements, while generally adhering to the Classical models, charted new territory. The first movement, although in Classical sonata form, confounds listeners first by rising to a fortissimo climax in the harmonically unstable exposition section and then by delaying a return to the home key.
