Riordan Manufacturing must acknowledge that the initiation of any project can get a black eye
because of implementation problems. As such, they should realize that the major overall problem with
implementation is that complexities associated with it, usually occurs when the solution is deployed.
Hence, many of the details of implementation must be planned ahead of time. The HR amp; IT
departments cannot start planning for implementation at the same time that the actually implementing
is occurring.
It must be noted, that the implementation stage of this project is where all the information gathered in
the prior phases begin to take on a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to Wikipedia.com, software testing, depending on the testing method employed, can be
implemented at any time in the development process. Traditionally most of the test effort occurs after
the requirements have been defined and the coding process has been completed, but in the agile
approaches most of the test effort is on going. As such, the methodology of the test is governed by the
chosen software development methodology.
The process of testing, is normally preceded by strategic coding by programmers, who normally
initiate software testing as they write codes. This most naturally, is dependent on the testing method
employed, and may be implemented at any point during the development process.
Because of the urgency for this application, it is recommended that Riordan
Manufacturing, take advantage of a more traditional model, where most of the test execution occurs
after each module is defined and coded, and after the coding process has been completed. The design

Correlation Between Mental Illness and Violence and Crime...
Literature Analysis and Research Proposal of the Correlation between Mental Illness and Violence and
Crime Over the past few decades, many researches have strived to test and explain the correlation
between violence and crime and mental illness. Moore and Hiday (2006) assert that up 22% of
inmates has a mental illness, sometimes containing more mental illness patients than many psychiatric
units. Due to these statistics it is evident how important it is to understand the causes of the
correlations between crime and violence and mental disorders. This proposal wishes to explain and
understand the possible correlation and the reasons for such correlation between mental health
illnesses and violence and crime. Further research to test ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These theories strive to explain how these factors may have an influence of crime and mental illness.
Social Learning Theory and Mental Illness The Social Learning Theory strives to show how behaviors
are acquired and maintained through various techniques. According to this theory, three basic
constructs are apparent. Differential association explains that a person engages themselves in a group
that has an acceptance toward crime as a possible means of obtaining necessary life goals. People
engaged in these groups learn to view crime as either positive or negative. Differential reinforcement
explains how well the participation in crime is accepted and imitation is the final acceptance of the
crime by observing others and committing the crime as well. Applied to mental illness, individuals
with mental illness are more likely to be engaged with individuals of these ideals due to excessive
exposure from close contact in low socioeconomic areas. Social Stress and Mental Illness According
to the Social Stress Theory, crime and violence is related to the amount of stress felt in one s life.
Applied to mental health, it is proposed that mental illness will lead to stressful situations in life which
will in turn lead to crime and violence (Silver 2006). Stressful life events have shown a relation to an

The Themes And Differences Of Star Wars And Star Trek
Star Wars and Star Trek are both a part of the science fiction genre and are about space exploration.
They both take place in the far reaches of the galaxies, on unique planets with imaginative and distinct
species. In both series the planets are united in some way, Star Trek has The United Federation of
Planets and Star Wars has the Galactic Empire. They both have a ship that they are famous for, Star
Wars has the Millennium Falcon and the Death Star while Star Trek has the USS Enterprise. Each ship
has similar means of transportation, Star Trek has warp drive where Star Wars has Hyperspace. There
are differences in the main objective of both series. Star Wars is mainly about conflict, a constant
battle between the light and the dark as the characters strive to balance their sides of the force.
Whereas Star Trek is mainly about peace, space exploration and going where no man has gone before.
Star Trek is a bit more logical and grounded in science while Star Wars induces supernatural elements
such as the force. Therefore, Star Trek is science fiction while Star Wars can mainly be thought of a
science fantasy. In addition to science, Star Trek focuses on topics like ethics and morality and
problem solving. Star Trek often tried to tackle controversial topics in society and to teach its viewer s
life lessons such as acceptance to diversity. In 1968 Star Trek aired the episode Plato s Stepchildren
where Captain Kirk and Lieutenant Uhura Kissed. This kiss is considered

Young Earth Realism Vs. Old Earth Creationism
This book has taught me far beyond what I expected, perhaps while reading this book I learned much
more about the Genesis 1 account than I ever learned in my entire life. Miller and Soden might argue
that my lack of study in this area is a result of being a group thinker rather than an individual thinker
(30). Looking at both the Young Earth creationism (YEC) and the Old earth creationism (OEC) views
for the first time, I realized that during my time at Moody Bible Institute I am really seeking to be
challenged in my beliefs with by no means making it some kind of test for orthodoxy. Even though
both the YEC and OEC views have strong arguments the aim of this essay is to demonstrate what I
took away from this book which was written by two advocate of the OEC belief.
At the beginning of the book Miller and Soden argues that the people who ... Show more content on

I particularly enjoyed learning about how the offspring of Abraham that had spent hundreds of years
in exile in Egypt has been affected by their religious beliefs. More specifically their belief on creation
since they have the most similarities with the one in Genesis 1. Miller and Soden said that sometimes
our observation of the world may require us to reconsider our understanding of the text because we
have not adequately understood the text in its original context. I agree with this statement more than
ever before; my mind is blown by this book. Genesis 1:2 talks about the earth being formless, void.
Darkness and deep. Similarly, the Egyptian belied for creation is that the earth was watery,
unilluminated, with darkness and imperceptibility. Additionally, the separation from the light to
darkness occurs in both account. The conundrum of having light created before the sun is in place in
Genesis 1:3, also happen in the Egyptian account light is created before the sun rises in its place

Commanding B (Sair Bair) Company 2011 2013 The Battle of Sari Bair, also known as the August
Offensive, was the final attempt made by the British in August 1915 to seize control of the Gallipoli
peninsula from the Ottoman Empire during the First World War. The Battle of Gallipoli had raged on
two fronts, Anzac and Helles, for three months since the invasion of 25 April 1915. With the Anzac
landing a tense stalemate, the Allies had attempted to carry the offensive on the Helles battlefield at
enormous cost for little gain. In August, the British command proposed a new operation to

Analysis Of Loung Ung s First They Killed My Father
Loung Ung s First They Killed My Father: A Daughter of Cambodia Remembers follows her struggles
as a child during the Angkar rule. Children in Cambodia directly suffered from trauma, which
obviously dismisses the myth that children experience less pain than adults. The importance of Ung s
book is the emotional impact she has on the reader because she gives a voice to the victims and to the
dead. As Americans, this topic, the Cambodian genocide does not get taught commonly in education.
It shows the trauma that the citizens went through and how it affected the country.
The organization of the story follows Loung Ung s life from the day they left their home to the day
she left for America. Since, this story is from a child s point of view there is less of a political
importance and more emotional based. Each chapter contributes to Loung Ung s main point because
as the story develops so does the affect on Ung. Each chapter Loung becomes more aware with her
surroundings and forced to grow up quick.
The Khmer Rouge wanted to get rid of social classes and make everyone equal and to do so Loung
Ung s father states, The Khmer Rouge are executing people perceived to be a threat against the
Angkar. This new country has no law or order. City people are killed for no reason. Anyone can be
viewed as a threat to the Angkar former civil servants, monks, doctors, nurses, artists, teachers,

The Use Of Artificial Light Sources And Prevent Any...
The majority of laboratories housing Xenopus laevis make use of artificial light sources and prevent
any natural lighting from entering the laboratory. Although Xenopus laevis thrive and reproduce over
a wide range of photoperiod, recommendations are periods of 14 hour light and 10 hour dark which
mimic conditions in a natural habitat (Major Wassersug, 1998). Inappropriate photoperiods, light
deprivation or continuous light may prove detrimental and cause symptoms of lethargy, sterility and
even death (Hayes et al., 1998). Slow and steady dimming and illuminating of lights is preferred to
abruptly switching on and off, as this allows the animal to adapt to the change and is potentially less
stressful to the animal (Reed, 2005).
2.3.6.2 Humidity
Xenopus laevis frogs are completely aquatic. Therefore, controlling humidity levels in an aquarium
housing the tanks for these animals is not as crucial as for a species that spends prolonged periods of
time on dry land (Reed, 2005).
2.3.6.3 Water provision
Quantity and depth of water provisions are poorly outlined, but as long as the animal can swim around
freely, lie fully submerged underwater, avoid contact with other animals or tank walls if desired and
swim in any direction without obstruction or hindrance from other animals or tank walls, it is
considered acceptable. The quality of water is more important, with a pH maintained between 6.5 and
8.5. (Reed, 2005). Deviations from this, too acidic or too alkaline, can result

How Did Pierre Trudeau Change Canada
Just watch me . One of the most popular quotes in all of Canadian history and was said by Canadian
Prime Minister, Pierre Elliott Trudeau. His legacy, attitude, and work transformed Canada and still
continues to do so. Trudeau was the Prime Minister of Canada, from 1968 to 1979 and from 1980 to
1984. Pierre Trudeau changed Canada s social political ideology. Canada is now known to be a
diverse, multicultural, bilingual and inclusive nation largely as result of his work. Pierre Elliott
Trudeau also believed in an equal Canada for all, he is primarily the one to introduce rights and
freedoms to the citizens of Canada. While some view Pierre Trudeau as impulsive, for enforcing the

Trudeau s approach to the situation provided Canadians security and safety. During Trudeau s time in
office, Quebec separatism was becoming an alarming issue. A terrorist organization, Front de
Liberation du Quebec (FLQ), was formed in an effort to separate Quebec from the rest of Canada. The
extremist brought havoc to Quebec and demanded separation from the Anglo (English speaking). On
October 5, 1970, the FLQ kidnapped British trade commissioner James Cross. They demanded the
release of FLQ members, the payment of $500,000, the publication of the FLQ manifesto and an
airplane ticket to either Cuba or Algeria. After, the FLQ went on to kidnap Quebec Cabinet Minister of
Labour and Immigration, Pierre Laporte, on October 10, 1970. In retaliation and for the security of the
people, Trudeau invoked the War Measures Act. The War Measures Act, called in military personnel in
Quebec to restore order, provide security and to help bring an end to the FLQ. With these
circumstance the War Measures Act was appropriate action taken, as it brings security to the people of
Quebec. Furthermore, it is key to remember the FLQ was a terrorist organization and it was important
that Trudeau eliminate the threat they posed to Canadians. Ricci writes in his novel Pierre Elliott

Age Of Paradox Of The Victorian Era In The 19th Century
Age of paradox The nineteenth century was a significant period for Britain because society had
changed her mentality, people started to idolize freedom and hard work as a method for winning
respectability and material success, they believed in democracy, religion, patriotism, progress,
capitalism and the family that completely determined the quality of living. The Victorian Age was
portrayed by fast transformation and improvements in almost every circle from advances in medical,
scientific and technological area to changes in populace development and location. After some time,
this quick change profoundly influenced the nation s state of mind: an age that started with a certainty
and optimism about economic ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The main dilemma they all faced and to which they all found various solutions was how to adapt the
historical design to contemporary needs. The most popular Victorian styles were: Neoclassicism, the
Gothic Revival, the High Victorian Gothic, Later Victorian Gothic, the Architecture of New
Industrialism. Despite the fact that there were a wide range of sorts of Victorian houses they all shared
many of the same detailed architectural features such as: bay windows, dentils, columns, dormers,
turrets, mansard roofs and many more. When it comes to literature, writers such as Dickens, the
Bronte sisters and Sir Walter Scott were the ones who had a big contribution in this century. Dickens
wrote in different styles, from comedy to tragedy. He wrote about the defects of the legal system,
dangers to public health, the problems of factory employment, to the scandals in private schools and
corruption in government. Just how Charles Dickens said in A Tale of Two Cities ,,It was the best of
times; it was the worst of times because for industrialists and the aristocracy, life could seemingly not
get any better; but for the working poor, the value of life was perhaps at its lowest levels in modern
history. Mentalities and perspectives changed since then and even if it had ups and downs it remained

Critical Disability In Titus Andronicus
Some say revenge is a dish best served cold, but in Titus Andronicus this dish is served piping hot and
bloody. One of the literary themes presented is critical disability study. Critical disability is when
somebody stands out from the norm. One study talks about being socially disabled and not being able
to fit in with the rest of the group in the story. Another study talks about the definition of normality,
and how those who don t fit into that category affect the story as a whole. Another story talks about
how being disabled in a certain way acts as a catalyst for a character and fuels their actions from then
on. In Titus Andronicus each of these forms of critical disability are present. Titus and Lavinia are
both crippled in a multitude of ways physically. However, there are other characters who have a
disability that cripples them; Aaron the Moor, Tamora queen of the goths, and Saturninus the Emperor.
They are crippled in different ways through their views and actions. These crippled characters are a
major part of the story. If they were not present or the things that crippled them were not present then
the story would not be viewed in the same light. Looking at physical disabilities, there is the loss of
Lavinia s hands and tongue. Before her incident she is evidently vibrant and full of life. There is one
scene where the emperor, who just said he was going to marry lavinia, hits on Tamora and even tells
Lavinia that Tamora is more beautiful and she makes a snide

Power In Robert Bolt s Play A Man For All Seasons
People in positions of power are always under scrutiny by those they rule. Despite their moves being
watched closely, rulers often have a deep seated inability to compromise their beliefs, thus corrupting
the government. In this day and age, it is far easier for the public to combat this ignorant worldview,
but in the time of King Henry VIII, this was nearly impossible. It took men in other positions of power
to stand against the king s will, but even this fared poorly for the dissenters. In Robert Bolt s play A
Man for All Seasons, Sir Thomas More was beheaded for his decision to remain silent on the matter of
the King s marriage. The leaders of England value More and view him as a man for all seasons, but

conclusions based on their knowledge of his faith and loyalty to the crown. It is within human nature
to judge others, and the less information provided, the wilder the inferences become. In this way, both
Henry VII and the king of Spain believed More to be a man for all seasons, but in reality, his morals
prevented him from ever being a man for all seasons. It takes a rare man to embody all the necessary

Relational Cultural Theory Of Mother Daughter Relationships
Jordan (2011) writes about the application of relational cultural theory to mother daughter
relationships. Relational cultural theory argues that the mother child relationship continually changes
due to social context and time, and therapy can help children rework empathic failures and acute
disconnections to question the absolute certainty of poor mothering. There were several statements
that Jordan (2011) argued that I found particularly applicable to my life. The book chapter mentions
that immigrant mothers tend to lose the support of a larger family network, and this can affect
mothering. There is also the mention of a desire for connection, and the lack of a connection can lead
to an inability to be authentic in a relationship.
The first point that I would like to mention is the idea that immigrant mothers lose support of an
extended family network (Jordan, 2011). My personal experience can verify this my parents left their
parents behind in Russia and rarely see them. The only extended family I have in the United States are
one aunt, one uncle, and two cousins. I have not seen them since I was 14 years old. The impact of
moving to a different country far from other family has great consequences. As far as I know, my
parents have few connections to other adults who understand their cultural background, and as a result
have no way of knowing if they are integrating their parenting beliefs appropriately with the
surrounding American culture. In addition, I have not

The Cold War Era Essay
Since World War II ended, the United States has been involved in several other conflicts, all of which
were much further from total war than was the Second World War. Many of these were small wars.
During the Cold War, the military s goal was preparedness to fight two simultaneous major
contingency operations. Once the Soviet Union disintegrated, and the United States emerged as the
lone superpower, there appeared to be a period of peace on the horizon. The peace dividend never
fully materialized, due to the rise of new powers, influence of non state actors, spread of weapons of

longer be sized to conduct prolonged stability operations. While this document says that the forces
will be sized based on the requirements of missions listed therein, which includes countering terrorism

will be maintained. In order to keep enough capability and capacity for high intensity regular warfare
as well as money to pay for training for this type of warfare, irregular warfare programs and training

Cosmetic Surgery is a high involvement service. People are sceptic about using this product and the

opinion there are other people who would go in for a cosmetic surgery to look better and feel good

Sex Appeal: Sex appeal is used by the usage of sexual themes and sexually attractive models. Since
people often face mid life crisis, and are left feeling old and bereft of sexual desire, a sexually
attractive message would be ideal for a cosmetic surgery advertisement thus making the consumer feel

What Does Patriotism Mean To Me
What Patriotism Means to Me
Our world is home to the greatest nations with the proudest citizens. In a dreadful time where wars are
brimming and protection is desperately needed, we gaze at the very men and women standing on the
front lines, faces tight with gratification, expressions brilliantly lit by their bravery. It is often stated
that humans do not recognize the significance of an object or being unless it is taken away and in
some sense, this is true. We laugh and chuckle with loved ones, venture onto journeys and voyages
together, live our impeccable lives unaware of the actions performed miles and miles from us that
create a bubble of defense around us, pushing aside dangers and bringing forth domestic peace.
Patriotism is not

The Heroic Transformation Of Beowulf
The Heroic Transformation of Beowulf The poem Beowulf presents the transformation of Beowulf
from a brave warrior to an honorable King. The evolution of Beowulf shows how he fulfills his
obligations to the warrior s heroic code and then transcends into a King who loyally protects his
Kingdom. Beowulf s transformation is shown through a progression of three increasingly more
difficult conflicts he must overcome first with Grendel, then Grendel s mother and finally against the
mighty dragon. These three events are seen as the three agons in the hero s life (Chickering 64).
Through these adverse events Beowulf will change from brave young warrior to noble King. This
paper will examine the manifestation of heroism in the poem ... Show more content on

He is willing to cross a boundary alone in order to protect the stability of his kingdom even if he must
die in order to do so. However, instead of using his bare hands this time like when he killed Grendel
because he does not know the warrior s arts (681), Beowulf uses better judgment and uses weapons to
defeat the mother. At this point it appears that Beowulf is maturing by making better decisions.
Beowulf transitions from warrior to king in the second part of the poem. Instead of relying on his own
beliefs and practices, he emulates the heroic king Hrothgar. Beowulf becomes more concerned with
the lives of his subjects and takes a more conservative ruling stance. Hrothgar prepares Beowulf well
to take over the thrown and teaches him to honor his warriors, protecting his people and maintain a
stable Kingdom. Hrothgar reminds Beowulf of the Greek tragedians and teaches that pride without
humility will result in a tragic fall (Chickering 1383). He also teaches Beowulf about Christian beliefs
like wealth is accumulated through the grace of God and should be shared unselfishly (Chickering
1384). Beowulf becomes more heroic and valuable to his people as he transitions to a wise ruler.
Beowulf must learn to navigate unity with his own men, as well as other Kingdoms and powers.
Beowulf demonstrates his maturity when Hygelac dies (Chickering 1389). Instead of claiming the
throne as his own like he may have done as a young man, he chooses

Comparing Women s Roles in Christianity and Islam Essay
Comparing Women s Roles in Christianity and Islam Christianity

This notion has created controversy over gender equality. God commands Adam not to eat fruit from
the tree of knowledge of good and evil, but Eve persuades him to and the act of disobeying God is the
original sin.
Status of Women/ Gender Equality:
The Bible is controversial on the matter of gender equality. There are numerous contradictions about
the status of women in Christian society. Historically, the most prominent interpretation has been
rather negative toward women. The Christian Church, with principally male authority, emphasizes the
idea that women are inferior to man. They focus on Eve s sin leading to a punishment that her husband
will have authority over her. (Drury, 34)
Until recently, women were not allowed to preach or even speak in the Christian Church, but in
modern times women are beginning to play a more significant. While sects of Christianity still hold
the traditional teachings about women, others have given them equal status within the church, an
increasingly accepted interpretation.
Responsibilities of Man and Woman:
The woman in Christianity is responsible to keep and practice

If Jesus Christ Is Not God, And The Resurrection Never
If Jesus Christ is not God, and the resurrection never happened, then the Christian Faith being lived
out by billions of Christians scattered throughout the entire world, is complete vanity. Thus, one of the
most popular arguments against the Deity of Christ stems from the idea that most of the biblical
writers often referenced Jesus as both speaking to, and being sent (John 17:3) by the Father;
furthermore, Jesus, while interacting with the apostles, often used language that expressed the idea
that His God, was also their God (John 20:17). However, the real problem with Jesus identity
emanates from data contained in the four gospels in which Jesus and His followers make strong
assertions about His divinity and pre existence (Kreeft ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Jesus Christ, during His earthly ministry, healed the sick (Matthew 8:5), cast out demons (Luke 4:33),
raised the dead (Luke 8:41), fed the five thousand (Mark 6:30), walked on water (Matthew 14:26), and
calmed a storm (Mark 4:37). Thus, Jesus performed miracles in order to establish that He was indeed
incarnate of God, and in doing so, Jesus demonstrated power over the elements of nature, demons,
sickness, and even death. However, many in Jesus time, were still not convinced of His deity.
Therefore, Jesus instructed the apostles in John 10:38, to believe in the miracles as proof that the
Father and Jesus were one (Yancey, 1997). Perhaps the best evidence concerning Jesus deity and the
miracles today rests on the fact that neither Buddha, Confucius, Muhammed or other religious
founders orchestrated miracles nor rose from the dead, only Christianity and Christianity s founder,
Jesus Christ can stake those claims (Yancey, 1997).
Further proof of Jesus deity centers directly on Jesus attributes. Hence, John 1:1 affirms the eternality
of Christ with the verb was suggesting Jesus continuous existence in time past (Enns, 2014, p. 239). In
Matthew 28:20, Jesus demonstrated omnipresence by promising the disciples that He would be always
with them, and in John 4:18, Jesus demonstrated omniscience by exposing a Samaritan Woman s
troubled history even though Christ had not met the woman previously (Enns, 20.14). Furthermore,
Jesus validated His

Nature Vs Nurture As A Serial Killer
Historical Background
What causes an individual to become a serial killer? Bio psychologists believe that starting from birth
the human mind is a tabula rasa or blank slate, and the individual learns behaviors and socio cultural
norms from individuals around them. This concept of nature versus nurture was based upon the idea
that it is how you are brought up (nurture) that governs the psychologically significant aspects of child
development and the concept of maturation applies only to the biological. The theory that explains the
nature aspect of the nature versus nurture principle is called the attachment theory, which views the
bond between mother and child as being an innate process that ensures survival. It is a biological need
that has ensured the survival of many species including the human race; because of the need to protect
and be protected humans as a species has been able to endure. It is also a psychological need to want
to be cared for as well as care for others a study done by Harry Harlow (1950s). The concept of
nurture focuses mainly on the effect that the environment has on the development of human beings
and whether it is more important than nature. Several studies have been generated to try and settle the
ongoing debate of nature versus nurture.
Many psychologists agree that nurture play a greater part in the development of a human being.

Animal Cells And Their Functions
Animal cells and their functions
Cell Membrane
The cell surface membrane is a semi permeable membrane whose function is to control the exchange
of substances between the cell and its environment. Semi permeable means that only certain molecules
are allowed to be transported in and out of the cell. The membrane is mainly made up of Lipid and
protein. On the diagram, the Cell Membrane forms the outer shell of the animal cell, and can be seen
as the bold line around it.
Nucleus
The Nucleus has a sphere shaped body that encloses a variety of organelles, including the nucleolus,
and is home to the deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) and ribonucleic acid (RNA) of a cell inside the
chromosomes. It is typically seen as the largest part of the animal cell. The nucleus controls many of
the functions and activities inside an animal cell, and is known as the control centre of a cell. On the
diagram, the nucleolus can be located as the black dot in the middle of the Nucleus, and is the main
site for ribosome formation.
Nuclear Membrane
The Nuclear Membrane surrounds the Nucleus, which is known as a Porous Membrane. This is
covered in pores, which are tiny holes that allow the exchange of RNA to move between the nucleus
and the cytoplasm. Proteins that are desired by the Nucleus are also able to move through these pores.
Nucleolus
The Nucleolus is the organelle structure inside the nucleus; it supports the synthesis of ribosomes,
which is where the Ribosomal RNA is produced. Some cells

When performing my experiment I will come across various health and safety issues. One of them
would be spilling acid on my hand. To prevent this I will be using syringes to measure out the correct
amount of HCL. This will prevent any spillage of HCL. Also another heath and safety risk would be
having Na2S2O3 get into any open cuts I have. To prevent this I will cover all open cuts I have.
Moreover there is a chance that when reacting HCL with Na2S2O3 the gases produced could get in
my eye and cause my eye to become irritant. So to prevent this I will wear safety goggles so the gases
produces can not get into me eyes.
When I conduct my experiment I think that as the concentration of HCL increases. The time taken for
the HCL to react with Na2S2O3 will increase. I think this will happen because of the collision theory
(1) the more collisions in a system, the more likely combinations of molecules will happen. This helps
understand that if we increase the concentration of HCL then the more likely there will be
combination of molecules hitting each other at a faster rate meaning that if there are more collisions of
molecules this would speed up a reaction by every molar the HCL goes up by.

The Characteristics Of Early Islamic Art And Early...
Early Christian art had a rough start. It started off not being wanted because it worshiped idols and
that was frowned upon in the early days. Although, as time went on and Christians started realizing the
benefits that art had at conveying their beliefs. The earliest Christian art occurred in the catacombs,
which were underground tombs under the city and they often depicted biblical symbols like Noah s
ark. Architecture also grew during this time, as people got more accepting of this culture things started
picking up. Art became in demand and so did architecture. Before the spike happened, early Christians
didn t have any designated places to worship and as soon as it became more accepted that changed.
Early Christian churches often mimicked roman work because it was so successful. An example of
this was Old St. Peter. Architecture and art weren t the only thing early Christians used to push
Christianity into the mainstream, music also played a role in the development Christianity. Early
Christian music prohibited instrumental accompaniment of any kind (Benton and Diyannni 185). This
was mainly because it wasn t considered religious it was considered un religious. As time progressed
this was eventually overturned. Early Christian music often used harps as a background for the
scriptures.

Physicians are a crucial part of the healthcare team that aids in healing and betterment of all aspects of

suffer from a part of impairment that affects their position and can affect patient care (Griffith).
Physician impairment can range on a spectrum from alcohol abuse to depression. It is important to
address these concerns for proper patient safety. In order to effectively diagnose and provide
treatment, it is important that all members of the medical staff, administration and the board work

Many physicians possess a strong drive for achievement, exceptional conscientiousness and an ability

Putting a Stop to Smoking
It is shocking to know that there are about ten people who die from smoking every single minute, and
nobody seems to have any idea about it. Indeed, there is a growing gap between the real world and the
academy since people are more intellectual about things that are irrelevant to the real life and are
ignorant of things that are imperative to live in the real world (Orr 310). Did you know that there are
over four hundred thousand deaths caused by cigarettes and tobacco each year in the U.S. alone? That

socially acceptable to children. The tobacco industry is making billions and billions while hundreds of
thousand are getting hooked on tobacco through the use of advertisements and media ploys.
Advertising is by far the most effective and prominent way tobacco companies use to induce young

tobacco companies use in advertisement to hook young adults. One of the elements that often appears

Disintegration Of Civilization In Lord Of The Flies
The island was once a beautiful, civilized, land, but turned into a horrible, savage island slowly but

of disintegration of civilization. Lord of the Flies demonstrates the symbols that William Golding used
in the book to create a big theme of civilization of the boys on the island. The symbols used in this
book that mainly demonstrates disintegration of civilization is the conch, representing civilization and
order, the beast representing themselves turning savage, and Roger, being the most savage one in the
group but being less noticed in the book Ralph and Piggy stumble upon a creamy, pretty white conch

Theme Of Human Nature In The Scarlet Letter
Human Nature Represented Within the Themes of The Scarlet Letter
Law is born from despair of human nature (Diggins). In The Scarlet Letter, Hester Prynne is judged by
moments of passion by social and religious laws of society. Hester becomes impregnated by a man
that was not her husband and in Puritan beliefs and society that was considered unacceptable.
Therefore, society places the scarlet letter A upon her bosom to publicly shame her for their idea of
feminine sin. The novel, The Scarlet Letter written by Nathaniel Hawthorne explores the themes of
guilt, damnation, and love and passion which, subsequently, are all part of an individual s human
nature.
Humanity as a whole can feel guilt due to societies harsh rules and expectations. The Scarlet Letter
explains guilt within society s rules through the character Arthur Dimmesdale. Hawthorne s novel
states, Happy are you, hester, that wear the scarlet letter openly upon your bosom! My burns in secret!
Thou little knowest what a relief it is, after the torment of a 7 years cheat, to look into an eye that
recognises me for what I am! (Hawthorne). Arthur Dimmesdale felt guilty because of the Puritans
belief that adultery was nefarious. Nicole Smith argued that, ...Dimmesdale suffers the most from the
effects of sin since he experiences inner turmoil in his mind, body, and soul all to extreme degrees.
(Smith). Dimmesdale s inner turmoil was derived from his lack of being able to speak up about his sin
and Hester s complete need to keep their love a secret from the rest of the community. Although
Dimmesdale felt guilty about committing adultery because of societies rule, his guilt made him
believe he was damned.
Arthur Dimmesdale is a priest who has to decide to believe the damnation of the bible or the
damnation he feels within his own personal life. Unfortunately, Dimmesdale believed he was
condemned to hell because he kept his secret about the love he felt for Hester from the community
which ultimately, drove him insane. The novel states, The result in this life could only be to drive the
minister insane and, in the afterlife, to permanently separate him from the Good and True insanity
being essentially the same thing as damnation. (Hawthorne).

How Government Should Spend On Healthcare Is Dependent On...
C. Evaluation of Healthcare
General Guinea health indicators are just as abysmal as economic indicators: on average Guineans live
34 years less than their Canadian counterparts. Why are there so many issues especially related to
inequality with the Guinean healthcare system? The answer lies in the impact Guinea s lackluster
economic development has had on her health sector.
One key factor is expenditure. There are three categories: government (which goes into directly
supplied healthcare services as well as towards national health insurance schemes), private (which is
split between out of pocket payments for healthcare services at point of delivery and private health
insurance), and external sources. Guinea s largely dysfunctional ... Show more content on

Kaiser Family Foundation 2010). Because of Canada s well developed infrastructure, she can afford to
spend close to 50% of general government expenditure on healthcare (Canadian Institute of Health
Information 2014).
The minimal public expenditure in Guinea over the past decade has focused mainly on urban areas,
and has unequally benefited those in the wealthiest income brackets. In 1995, 48% of government
expenditure in health benefited the wealthiest 20%, whereas only 4% benefited the poorest fifth. Over
the years, budget allocations have remained practically unchanged, and medical personnel are
concentrated in large urban centers, with over 60% of health professionals operating in the capital,
Conakry. Surveys show that 30 to 40% of Guinean households experience temporary inability to pay
for health services whereas the Canadian system is free at the point of use (The World Bank 2006).
Another reason for the disparity in access to healthcare is privatization. In Guinea, private expenditure
on healthcare dominates: almost all spending is out of pocket spending at point of delivery. In Guinea
private health expenditure makes up 89% of total health expenditure, but out of pocket expenditure
represents 88% of private health expenditure and total health spending per person per year is only $23

Qohlab Reflection
I compared the text from the New Interpreter s Study Bible to an interpretation from the Message
Bible. While there were several differences in the wording and vocabulary used, for the most part this
did not affect how a reader might interpret the reading. However, the ending verse of the NIB version
states One man among a thousand I found, but a woman among all these I have not found. While the
Message interpretation states I didn t find one man or woman in a thousand worth my while. This
difference points out how the culture and time period in which the translation was made or written
influences the interpretation. Both before and after this passage follow the general idea of the entire
book, a teacher preaching about his wisdom from his point of view. I believe that the reading does not
need any context from the previous readings in the book to understand, but having an understanding of
the author s logic and way of thinking does help to better reflect on the passage. A major theme from
the author himself that caught my eye was the author s realistic, some might even say pessimistic,
view on his interpretation of life. The author states that the reality of life is that no one on Earth can do
good and not sin during their life. Also, the author states that life is not fair and just despite

What Is Frightful Fields Essay
A gloomy, dark, broken, isolated, boring place was known as Frightful Fields. There stood a land of no
happiness where crickets chirp, owls hoot, cries, and screams were heard. This place was a run down,
rough, and dry city which no one ever strolled on the grounds of. Rats ran on the streets and trash was
thrown all over the roads. The night glared at whoever was outside at anytime. The air always had a
smell of blood in it. Never was there any sun or color. In fact, the city was more like a slaughterhouse.
There were dead bodies in every alley. Scared people all over the city prayed they would not get
killed. People disappearing was quite common in Frightful Fields. Most of the food here tasted
tremendously like a sock. Even in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In no more than 3 days, over half the town was colored. The man who bathed all day but never felt
clean, the artist who was never inspired, and the woman who never got any customers were all starting
to live their life to the fullest. The bathtub man, whose name was James, got out of his tub and froliked
in the daylight. The artist s name was Blake, he painted the most beautiful master piece and won a trip
to go to Italy! The hair stylist, her name was Jade, had a line up of customers outside her salon! The
nighttime came around and I had to quickly dash out of the town. If I stay in a town for more than one
week, my magic can go away. So I had to quickly go to my house in Mango Municipality. It is called
mango because everything there is made out of mangos. That night was the happiest night the town
had ever had. People were standing on their roofs throwing flowers onto the population of Frightening
Fields. Before I left, I signed a contract with the government to change the name of Frightening Fields
to Terrific Town. Also, I told them to keep this a surprise to the town until the next

Why I Should Be Taken For Course Work Purposes
It is important to note that the things and issues that are stated in this paper are pure thought of the
author. There is nothing that relates to whatever Angelina Jolie said or did at any point. The paper is
the full thought of the author and is done for assignment purposes. This is not to mean that the things
stated in this paper at any point are real or relates to the people being mentioned. For any case of
misuse of the content of this paper, the author is not liable at any point. Instead, the paper should be
taken for course work purposes and it is not an article to be used for misinformation purposes at any
point. The content of this paper is strictly not for use for any reference purposes on whatever the
people mentioned said or rather did. This paper, as stated above, is purely the thought of the author. As
much as the reference is on the persons bibliography, the person has not been involved in any part of
the writing of this paper. Therefore, the paper should be strictly used for assignment purpose and no
other thing.
Introduction
This paper is going to diagnose Angelina Jolie, a producer, director and film actress. She is a common
figure to all the movie lovers. Angelina has made lots of breakthroughs in the film industry through

as Salt and Maleficent, which were great bangs in the industry. This paper is a case study and

Argument Essay On Abortion
The abortion argument is always a tough split decision. Some people lean towards pro life and some
towards pro choice. The pro life group believes that every fetus should be kept alive since they are a
developing human, and every human has a right to life. The pro choice believe that if it s the woman s
body it should be her choice, especially in a case of rape. For my stance on the argument I stand with
both pro life and pro choice due to certain arguments. These arguments came about after the Supreme
Court case of Roe vs. Wade.
The court case of Roe vs. Wade was decided in 1973 and under the fourteenth amendment abortion
became legal. This court case started when a woman wanted to get an abortion in the state of Texas
but abortions were only legal if it was for a medical reason. The woman did not have a medical reason
but she stated that due to her mental health and not being able to take contraceptives she should be
allowed to have an abortion. The court has then ruled a 7 to 2 vote that abortions are legal in the first
trimester, and the second and third would be ruled by the state. Since the legalization of abortion from
the Supreme Court case Roe vs. Wade, there have been over 54 million babies subjected to death by
abortion. Deaths due to abortion are said to be higher than those from the Holocaust, other major 20th
century genocides and even some World War II fatalities. The decision of the Roe vs. Wade case has
denied unborn babies the right to life which we should

Pediatric patients were narrowed down to young adults and...
Pediatric patients were narrowed down to young adults and adolescents ages that were diagnosed with
cancer and undergoing chemotherapy as the primary treatment. The narrowing of the patients was
chosen, as this is the stage of psychosocial development that these patients develop in identity. Articles
within five years were included in the gathering of research. Coping with Pediatric Cancer: Strategies
Employed by Children and Their Parents to Manage Cancer Related Stressors During Treatment
article (qualitative) explains using fifteen children ranging from six to twelve years old of varying
races including Caucasian, African American, American Indian/Alaskan Native and Hispanic. Each

The final strategies used were pediatric AND body image, pediatric cancer AND coping, pediatric
cancer AND psychosocial, adolescent and young adult cancer AND psychosocial impact. Articles
found in the first search included 255 with the second search resulting in 142 articles found. The last
two searches resulted in 158 articles found and then two articles found. Narrowing the searches placed
more relevant articles in the results. All articles were found on PubMed search engine by using the
Boolean search strategy. Using the Boolean search strategy allowed articles to be narrowed down
thoroughly to what was expected from the terms used and allowed more descriptive topics to be
displayed as psychosocially.
Research and Nursing Implications Coping with Pediatric Cancer: Strategies Employed by Children
and Their Parents to Manage Cancer Related Stressors During Treatment has each pediatric participant
and caregiver answer three questions. The first question stating, what was hard for you/your child
when you found out about the diagnosis? Second, what was hard for you/ your child during the cancer
treatment? Lastly, what things do you do to cope/how do you help your child cope during the cancer
and or cancer treatment? (Hildenbrand et al., 2011). Each question is followed up

Themes InThe Swimmer, By John Cheever
In John Cheever s short story, The Swimmer, we are introduced to Neddy Merrill a man who, at first
glance, seemed to be an ordinary affluent suburban man enjoying some drinks by the pool with his
neighbors. After lounging around with his neighbor, Neddy decided he s going to go home by
swimming through his neighbor s pools. Through his swimming journey, Neddy slowly begins to
acknowledge what has happened in his life. It wasn t until the moment that Neddy finally reaches his
home that everything that has happened to him fully sinks in. At the end of The Swimmer, Neddy s
vulnerability and lonesomeness are exposed. As Cheever wrote He shouted, pounded on the door, tried
to force it with his shoulder, and then, looking in at the windows, saw that the place was empty
(Cheever 737). In this sentence, we see the climax and conclusion of Neddy s journey, and the dawn
of a new awareness. Before we reach the climax though, Cheever uses close proximity rhyming in the
beginning of the sentence when he writes, He shouted, pounded on the door (Cheever 737). This
literary device provides the reader with a glimpse into the powerful emotion surging through Neddy as
he realizes that the home he thought he had no longer exists. As we see Neddy becoming increasingly
frustrated, Cheever begins to transition this sentence to the climax of the story with Neddy feeling
desperate and nervous. Neddy reaches his breaking point as he discovers what s in the house as

Accountability of Sensitive Items Essay
This essay will be about the importance of keeping the accountability of sensitive items and how the
accountability of sensitive items affects the unit. AR 710 2 and AR 735 5 both cover the Army policy
for property accountability. Some sensitive items are your weapon, military ID card, communication
equipment, etcetera. Sensitive items are anything that can be used by opposing forces or the enemy to
counter attack, weaken forces, and gain information, and so on. People will sometimes get relaxed or
forgettable while not in a combat zone or operation area. If this happens it is very dangerous due to the
fact that enemies are able to obtain any and possibly all of your sensitive items to gather information
or harm you and your unit and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If this were to happen it could jeopardize the lives of our unit and other units as well.
Another sensitive item would be NVG s or Night Vision Goggles. If you misplace or lose your Night
Vision Goggles then you will not be able to see what is going on around you during the night. It could
also aid the enemy in having the same advantages as you would have at night. This could potentially
harm you or your unit.
Maps and map overlays are also sensitive items because if the enemy were to acquire our map
overlays then they would have knowledge of our battle positions, observation points, where the unit is
located, ammunition points and supplies in general. This could harm you or your unit because the
enemy would know your entire battle plan.
All of these items are important to you and your unit because without them you and your unit are not
fully mission capable and able to carry out the tasks given to you by your chain of command. If you
lose one of your sensitive items it can harm your unit and keep you from completing your mission
properly or at all. It could also prolong your mission until you are able to find what has been
misplaced. It could also put you and your unit in harm s way due to the fact that they would be
looking for the misplaced item and not paying attention to their surroundings.
I made the mistake and left my weapon in the port a john during our last field training exercise. If it

Assess The Difference Between Conductive Reasoning And...
The first concepts I learned about in this chapter are the deductive and inductive reasoning. As
developing techniques such as both deductive and inductive reasoning is an important portion of
becoming a critical thinker. So what is deductive reasoning? Deductive reasoning is structured in such
a way as to give as to give us certainty about what it true in a given situation. The conclusions
certainty is established when deductive arguments contain true premises reasons stated in the correct
form (Diestler 2012). So basically, deductive reasoning is taking some set of data or facts and using
that to come up with other deducting facts. When using deductive reasoning its sometimes knows as
the top down approach which is sometimes used for research ... Show more content on

Therefore, you start to think out of the box and having different opinions it can allow you to have
better decision making skills in choosing better life choices for yourselves. In the video that was
shown during the lecture about decision making named How To Make Better Decisions
(https://youtu.be/QW AUTh6WOY) a mathematician believes he can solve complex human problems
by using math. In decision making mathematics share the same language, in you have problems that
need to be solved. Therefore, you look at the factors that you re going away against each other so
solve the problem with using math. In the example is trying finding a suitable girlfriend using
numbers. The experiment was to see if the math could predict the volunteers which consist of the four
nerdy science guys could get numbers from girls from a bar setting. The conclusion the volunteers
were a success. Also, something that was discovered was with this simply analyzing the decision
before hand seem to have given the guys more confidence to approach and talk to girls at the bar. The
only person who was not successful was one of the guys Levi who reject the magic numbers and
failed at the experiment in this performance. I don t always think that math can always be used, but
you can if you want to make a logical decision then you make choose math to help you with the
decision making. One thing that can helps me in making better decisions is identifying the factors

Kirk Samuda Riordan Manufacturing Kirk Samuda University of Phoenix BSA/375 Week (4) Mr. Jeffrey Mc Nickle Riordan Manufacturing must acknowledge that the initiation of any project can get a black eye because of implementation problems. As such, they should realize that the major overall problem with implementation is that complexities associated with it, usually occurs when the solution is deployed. Hence, many of the details of implementation must be planned ahead of time. The HR amp; IT departments cannot start planning for implementation at the same time that the actually implementing is occurring. According to Wikipedia.com, software testing, depending on the testing method employed, can be implemented at any time in the development process. Traditionally most of the test effort occurs after the requirements have been defined and the coding process has been completed, but in the agile approaches most of the test effort is on going. As such, the methodology of the test is governed by the chosen software development methodology. The process of testing, is normally preceded by strategic coding by programmers, who normally initiate software testing as they write codes. This most naturally, is dependent on the testing method employed, and may be implemented at any point during the development process. Because of the urgency for this application, it is recommended that Riordan Manufacturing, take advantage of a more traditional model, where most of the test execution occurs after each module is defined and coded, and after the coding process has been completed. Literature Analysis and Research Proposal of the Correlation between Mental Illness and Violence and Crime Over the past few decades, many researches have strived to test and explain the correlation between violence and crime and mental illness. Moore and Hiday (2006) assert that up 22% of inmates has a mental illness, sometimes containing more mental illness patients than many psychiatric units. Due to these statistics it is evident how important it is to understand the causes of the correlations between crime and violence and mental disorders. This proposal wishes to explain and understand the possible correlation and the reasons for such correlation between mental health illnesses and violence and crime. Further research to test ... Social Learning Theory and Mental Illness The Social Learning Theory strives to show how behaviors are acquired and maintained through various techniques. According to this theory, three basic constructs are apparent. Differential association explains that a person engages themselves in a group that has an acceptance toward crime as a possible means of obtaining necessary life goals. People engaged in these groups learn to view crime as either positive or negative. Differential reinforcement explains how well the participation in crime is accepted and imitation is the final acceptance of the crime by observing others and committing the crime as well. Applied to mental illness, individuals with mental illness are more likely to be engaged with individuals of these ideals due to excessive exposure from close contact in low socioeconomic areas. Social Stress and Mental Illness According to the Social Stress Theory, crime and violence is related to the amount of stress felt in one s life. Applied to mental health, it is proposed that mental illness will lead to stressful situations in life which will in turn lead to crime and violence (Silver 2006). • 5. The Themes And Differences Of Star Wars And Star Trek Star Wars and Star Trek are both a part of the science fiction genre and are about space exploration. They both take place in the far reaches of the galaxies, on unique planets with imaginative and distinct species. In both series the planets are united in some way, Star Trek has The United Federation of Planets and Star Wars has the Galactic Empire. They both have a ship that they are famous for, Star Wars has the Millennium Falcon and the Death Star while Star Trek has the USS Enterprise. Each ship has similar means of transportation, Star Trek has warp drive where Star Wars has Hyperspace. There are differences in the main objective of both series. Star Wars is mainly about conflict, a constant battle between the light and the dark as the characters strive to balance their sides of the force. Whereas Star Trek is mainly about peace, space exploration and going where no man has gone before. Star Trek is a bit more logical and grounded in science while Star Wars induces supernatural elements such as the force. Therefore, Star Trek is science fiction while Star Wars can mainly be thought of a science fantasy. In addition to science, Star Trek focuses on topics like ethics and morality and problem solving. Star Trek often tried to tackle controversial topics in society and to teach its viewer s life lessons such as acceptance to diversity. In 1968 Star Trek aired the episode Plato s Stepchildren where Captain Kirk and Lieutenant Uhura Kissed. This kiss is considered ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Old Earth Creationism This book has taught me far beyond what I expected, perhaps while reading this book I learned much more about the Genesis 1 account than I ever learned in my entire life. Miller and Soden might argue that my lack of study in this area is a result of being a group thinker rather than an individual thinker (30). Looking at both the Young Earth creationism (YEC) and the Old earth creationism (OEC) views for the first time, I realized that during my time at Moody Bible Institute I am really seeking to be challenged in my beliefs with by no means making it some kind of test for orthodoxy. Even though both the YEC and OEC views have strong arguments the aim of this essay is to demonstrate what I took away from this book which was written by two advocate of the OEC belief. I particularly enjoyed learning about how the offspring of Abraham that had spent hundreds of years in exile in Egypt has been affected by their religious beliefs. More specifically their belief on creation since they have the most similarities with the one in Genesis 1. Miller and Soden said that sometimes our observation of the world may require us to reconsider our understanding of the text because we have not adequately understood the text in its original context. I agree with this statement more than ever before; my mind is blown by this book. Genesis 1:2 talks about the earth being formless, void. Darkness and deep. Similarly, the Egyptian belied for creation is that the earth was watery, unilluminated, with darkness and imperceptibility. Additionally, the separation from the light to darkness occurs in both account. The conundrum of having light created before the sun is in place in Genesis 1:3, also happen in the Egyptian account light is created before the sun rises in its place (Miller and Soden ... The Battle of Gallipoli had raged on two fronts, Anzac and Helles, for three months since the invasion of 25 April 1915. Children in Cambodia directly suffered from trauma, which obviously dismisses the myth that children experience less pain than adults. The importance of Ung s book is the emotional impact she has on the reader because she gives a voice to the victims and to the dead. As Americans, this topic, the Cambodian genocide does not get taught commonly in education. It shows the trauma that the citizens went through and how it affected the country. The organization of the story follows Loung Ung s life from the day they left their home to the day she left for America. Since, this story is from a child s point of view there is less of a political importance and more emotional based. Each chapter contributes to Loung Ung s main point because as the story develops so does the affect on Ung. Each chapter Loung becomes more aware with her surroundings and forced to grow up quick. The Khmer Rouge wanted to get rid of social classes and make everyone equal and to do so Loung Ung s father states, The Khmer Rouge are executing people perceived to be a threat against the Angkar. • 10. The Use Of Artificial Light Sources And Prevent Any... The majority of laboratories housing Xenopus laevis make use of artificial light sources and prevent any natural lighting from entering the laboratory. Although Xenopus laevis thrive and reproduce over a wide range of photoperiod, recommendations are periods of 14 hour light and 10 hour dark which mimic conditions in a natural habitat (Major Wassersug, 1998). Inappropriate photoperiods, light deprivation or continuous light may prove detrimental and cause symptoms of lethargy, sterility and even death (Hayes et al., 1998). Slow and steady dimming and illuminating of lights is preferred to abruptly switching on and off, as this allows the animal to adapt to the change and is potentially less stressful to the animal (Reed, 2005). 2.3.6.2 Humidity Xenopus laevis frogs are completely aquatic. Therefore, controlling humidity levels in an aquarium housing the tanks for these animals is not as crucial as for a species that spends prolonged periods of time on dry land (Reed, 2005). 2.3.6.3 Water provision Quantity and depth of water provisions are poorly outlined, but as long as the animal can swim around freely, lie fully submerged underwater, avoid contact with other animals or tank walls if desired and swim in any direction without obstruction or hindrance from other animals or tank walls, it is considered acceptable. The quality of water is more important, with a pH maintained between 6.5 and 8.5. (Reed, 2005). Deviations from this, too acidic or too alkaline, can result ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Pierre Trudeau changed Canada s social political ideology. Canada is now known to be a diverse, multicultural, bilingual and inclusive nation largely as result of his work. Trudeau s approach to the situation provided Canadians security and safety. During Trudeau s time in office, Quebec separatism was becoming an alarming issue. A terrorist organization, Front de Liberation du Quebec (FLQ), was formed in an effort to separate Quebec from the rest of Canada. The extremist brought havoc to Quebec and demanded separation from the Anglo (English speaking). On October 5, 1970, the FLQ kidnapped British trade commissioner James Cross. They demanded the release of FLQ members, the payment of $500,000, the publication of the FLQ manifesto and an airplane ticket to either Cuba or Algeria. After, the FLQ went on to kidnap Quebec Cabinet Minister of Labour and Immigration, Pierre Laporte, on October 10, 1970. In retaliation and for the security of the people, Trudeau invoked the War Measures Act. The War Measures Act, called in military personnel in Quebec to restore order, provide security and to help bring an end to the FLQ. With these circumstance the War Measures Act was appropriate action taken, as it brings security to the people of Quebec. • 14. Critical Disability In Titus Andronicus Some say revenge is a dish best served cold, but in Titus Andronicus this dish is served piping hot and bloody. One of the literary themes presented is critical disability study. Critical disability is when somebody stands out from the norm. One study talks about being socially disabled and not being able to fit in with the rest of the group in the story. Another study talks about the definition of normality, and how those who don t fit into that category affect the story as a whole. Another story talks about how being disabled in a certain way acts as a catalyst for a character and fuels their actions from then on. In Titus Andronicus each of these forms of critical disability are present. Titus and Lavinia are both crippled in a multitude of ways physically. However, there are other characters who have a disability that cripples them; Aaron the Moor, Tamora queen of the goths, and Saturninus the Emperor. They are crippled in different ways through their views and actions. These crippled characters are a major part of the story. If they were not present or the things that crippled them were not present then the story would not be viewed in the same light. Looking at physical disabilities, there is the loss of Lavinia s hands and tongue. Before her incident she is evidently vibrant and full of life. There is one scene where the emperor, who just said he was going to marry lavinia, hits on Tamora and even tells Lavinia that Tamora is more beautiful and she makes a snide ... Despite their moves being watched closely, rulers often have a deep seated inability to compromise their beliefs, thus corrupting the government. In this day and age, it is far easier for the public to combat this ignorant worldview, but in the time of King Henry VIII, this was nearly impossible. It took men in other positions of power to stand against the king s will, but even this fared poorly for the dissenters. Relational cultural theory argues that the mother child relationship continually changes due to social context and time, and therapy can help children rework empathic failures and acute disconnections to question the absolute certainty of poor mothering. There were several statements that Jordan (2011) argued that I found particularly applicable to my life. The book chapter mentions that immigrant mothers tend to lose the support of a larger family network, and this can affect mothering. There is also the mention of a desire for connection, and the lack of a connection can lead to an inability to be authentic in a relationship. The first point that I would like to mention is the idea that immigrant mothers lose support of an extended family network (Jordan, 2011). My personal experience can verify this my parents left their parents behind in Russia and rarely see them. The only extended family I have in the United States are one aunt, one uncle, and two cousins. I have not seen them since I was 14 years old. The impact of moving to a different country far from other family has great consequences. • 21. The Heroic Transformation Of Beowulf The Heroic Transformation of Beowulf The poem Beowulf presents the transformation of Beowulf from a brave warrior to an honorable King. The evolution of Beowulf shows how he fulfills his obligations to the warrior s heroic code and then transcends into a King who loyally protects his Kingdom. Beowulf s transformation is shown through a progression of three increasingly more difficult conflicts he must overcome first with Grendel, then Grendel s mother and finally against the mighty dragon. These three events are seen as the three agons in the hero s life (Chickering 64). Through these adverse events Beowulf will change from brave young warrior to noble King. He is willing to cross a boundary alone in order to protect the stability of his kingdom even if he must die in order to do so. However, instead of using his bare hands this time like when he killed Grendel because he does not know the warrior s arts (681), Beowulf uses better judgment and uses weapons to defeat the mother. At this point it appears that Beowulf is maturing by making better decisions. Beowulf transitions from warrior to king in the second part of the poem. Instead of relying on his own beliefs and practices, he emulates the heroic king Hrothgar. Beowulf becomes more concerned with the lives of his subjects and takes a more conservative ruling stance. Hrothgar prepares Beowulf well to take over the thrown and teaches him to honor his warriors, protecting his people and maintain a stable Kingdom. Hrothgar reminds Beowulf of the Greek tragedians and teaches that pride without humility will result in a tragic fall (Chickering 1383). He also teaches Beowulf about Christian beliefs like wealth is accumulated through the grace of God and should be shared unselfishly (Chickering 1384). Beowulf becomes more heroic and valuable to his people as he transitions to a wise ruler. Beowulf must learn to navigate unity with his own men, as well as other Kingdoms and powers. Historically, the most prominent interpretation has been rather negative toward women. The Christian Church, with principally male authority, emphasizes the idea that women are inferior to man. They focus on Eve s sin leading to a punishment that her husband will have authority over her. (Drury, 34) Until recently, women were not allowed to preach or even speak in the Christian Church, but in modern times women are beginning to play a more significant. • 23. If Jesus Christ Is Not God, And The Resurrection Never If Jesus Christ is not God, and the resurrection never happened, then the Christian Faith being lived out by billions of Christians scattered throughout the entire world, is complete vanity. Thus, one of the most popular arguments against the Deity of Christ stems from the idea that most of the biblical writers often referenced Jesus as both speaking to, and being sent (John 17:3) by the Father; furthermore, Jesus, while interacting with the apostles, often used language that expressed the idea that His God, was also their God (John 20:17). However, the real problem with Jesus identity emanates from data contained in the four gospels in which Jesus and His followers make strong assertions about His divinity and pre existence (Kreeft ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Jesus Christ, during His earthly ministry, healed the sick (Matthew 8:5), cast out demons (Luke 4:33), raised the dead (Luke 8:41), fed the five thousand (Mark 6:30), walked on water (Matthew 14:26), and calmed a storm (Mark 4:37). Thus, Jesus performed miracles in order to establish that He was indeed incarnate of God, and in doing so, Jesus demonstrated power over the elements of nature, demons, sickness, and even death. However, many in Jesus time, were still not convinced of His deity. Therefore, Jesus instructed the apostles in John 10:38, to believe in the miracles as proof that the Father and Jesus were one (Yancey, 1997). Perhaps the best evidence concerning Jesus deity and the miracles today rests on the fact that neither Buddha, Confucius, Muhammed or other religious founders orchestrated miracles nor rose from the dead, only Christianity and Christianity s founder, Jesus Christ can stake those claims (Yancey, 1997). Further proof of Jesus deity centers directly on Jesus attributes. Hence, John 1:1 affirms the eternality of Christ with the verb was suggesting Jesus continuous existence in time past (Enns, 2014, p. 239). In Matthew 28:20, Jesus demonstrated omnipresence by promising the disciples that He would be always with them, and in John 4:18, Jesus demonstrated omniscience by exposing a Samaritan Woman s troubled history even though Christ had not met the woman previously (Enns, 20.14). • 24. Nature Vs Nurture As A Serial Killer Historical Background What causes an individual to become a serial killer? Bio psychologists believe that starting from birth the human mind is a tabula rasa or blank slate, and the individual learns behaviors and socio cultural norms from individuals around them. This concept of nature versus nurture was based upon the idea that it is how you are brought up (nurture) that governs the psychologically significant aspects of child development and the concept of maturation applies only to the biological. The theory that explains the nature aspect of the nature versus nurture principle is called the attachment theory, which views the bond between mother and child as being an innate process that ensures survival. It is a biological need that has ensured the survival of many species including the human race; because of the need to protect and be protected humans as a species has been able to endure. It is also a psychological need to want to be cared for as well as care for others a study done by Harry Harlow (1950s). The concept of nurture focuses mainly on the effect that the environment has on the development of human beings and whether it is more important than nature. Several studies have been generated to try and settle the ongoing debate of nature versus nurture. Many psychologists agree that nurture play a greater part in the development of a human being. On the diagram, the Cell Membrane forms the outer shell of the animal cell, and can be seen as the bold line around it. Nucleus The Nucleus has a sphere shaped body that encloses a variety of organelles, including the nucleolus, and is home to the deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) and ribonucleic acid (RNA) of a cell inside the chromosomes. It is typically seen as the largest part of the animal cell. The nucleus controls many of the functions and activities inside an animal cell, and is known as the control centre of a cell. On the diagram, the nucleolus can be located as the black dot in the middle of the Nucleus, and is the main site for ribosome formation. Nuclear Membrane The Nuclear Membrane surrounds the Nucleus, which is known as a Porous Membrane. This is covered in pores, which are tiny holes that allow the exchange of RNA to move between the nucleus and the cytoplasm. • 34. Theme Of Human Nature In The Scarlet Letter Human Nature Represented Within the Themes of The Scarlet Letter Law is born from despair of human nature (Diggins). In The Scarlet Letter, Hester Prynne is judged by moments of passion by social and religious laws of society. Hester becomes impregnated by a man that was not her husband and in Puritan beliefs and society that was considered unacceptable. Therefore, society places the scarlet letter A upon her bosom to publicly shame her for their idea of feminine sin. The novel, The Scarlet Letter written by Nathaniel Hawthorne explores the themes of guilt, damnation, and love and passion which, subsequently, are all part of an individual s human nature. Humanity as a whole can feel guilt due to societies harsh rules and expectations. The Scarlet Letter explains guilt within society s rules through the character Arthur Dimmesdale. Hawthorne s novel states, Happy are you, hester, that wear the scarlet letter openly upon your bosom! My burns in secret! Thou little knowest what a relief it is, after the torment of a 7 years cheat, to look into an eye that recognises me for what I am! (Hawthorne). Arthur Dimmesdale felt guilty because of the Puritans belief that adultery was nefarious. Nicole Smith argued that, ...Dimmesdale suffers the most from the effects of sin since he experiences inner turmoil in his mind, body, and soul all to extreme degrees. (Smith). Dimmesdale s inner turmoil was derived from his lack of being able to speak up about his sin and Hester s complete need to keep their love a secret from the rest of the community. Although Dimmesdale felt guilty about committing adultery because of societies rule, his guilt made him believe he was damned. Arthur Dimmesdale is a priest who has to decide to believe the damnation of the bible or the damnation he feels within his own personal life. Unfortunately, Dimmesdale believed he was condemned to hell because he kept his secret about the love he felt for Hester from the community which ultimately, drove him insane. Evaluation of Healthcare General Guinea health indicators are just as abysmal as economic indicators: on average Guineans live 34 years less than their Canadian counterparts. Why are there so many issues especially related to inequality with the Guinean healthcare system? The answer lies in the impact Guinea s lackluster economic development has had on her health sector. One key factor is expenditure. There are three categories: government (which goes into directly supplied healthcare services as well as towards national health insurance schemes), private (which is split between out of pocket payments for healthcare services at point of delivery and private health insurance), and external sources. Guinea s largely dysfunctional ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Kaiser Family Foundation 2010). Because of Canada s well developed infrastructure, she can afford to spend close to 50% of general government expenditure on healthcare (Canadian Institute of Health Information 2014). The minimal public expenditure in Guinea over the past decade has focused mainly on urban areas, and has unequally benefited those in the wealthiest income brackets. In 1995, 48% of government expenditure in health benefited the wealthiest 20%, whereas only 4% benefited the poorest fifth. Over the years, budget allocations have remained practically unchanged, and medical personnel are concentrated in large urban centers, with over 60% of health professionals operating in the capital, Conakry. Surveys show that 30 to 40% of Guinean households experience temporary inability to pay for health services whereas the Canadian system is free at the point of use (The World Bank 2006). Another reason for the disparity in access to healthcare is privatization. In Guinea, private expenditure on healthcare dominates: almost all spending is out of pocket spending at point of delivery. In Guinea private health expenditure makes up 89% of total health expenditure, but out of pocket expenditure represents 88% of private health expenditure and total health spending per person per year is only $23 (The World Bank 2006). A social contradiction exists here, where only a few exemptions and subsidization mechanisms are in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 39. Qohlab Reflection I compared the text from the New Interpreter s Study Bible to an interpretation from the Message Bible. While there were several differences in the wording and vocabulary used, for the most part this did not affect how a reader might interpret the reading. However, the ending verse of the NIB version states One man among a thousand I found, but a woman among all these I have not found. While the Message interpretation states I didn t find one man or woman in a thousand worth my while. This difference points out how the culture and time period in which the translation was made or written influences the interpretation. Both before and after this passage follow the general idea of the entire book, a teacher preaching about his wisdom from his point of view. I believe that the reading does not need any context from the previous readings in the book to understand, but having an understanding of the author s logic and way of thinking does help to better reflect on the passage. A major theme from the author himself that caught my eye was the author s realistic, some might even say pessimistic, view on his interpretation of life. The author states that the reality of life is that no one on Earth can do good and not sin during their life. Also, the author states that life is not fair and just despite conventional wisdom. The major theme is that Qoheleth, the Teacher as the authors refers to their self, is teaching us about the world from their point of view and from the wisdom ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

There stood a land of no happiness where crickets chirp, owls hoot, cries, and screams were heard. This place was a run down, rough, and dry city which no one ever strolled on the grounds of. Rats ran on the streets and trash was thrown all over the roads. The night glared at whoever was outside at anytime. The air always had a smell of blood in it. Never was there any sun or color. In fact, the city was more like a slaughterhouse. There were dead bodies in every alley. Scared people all over the city prayed they would not get killed. • 42. Argument Essay On Abortion The abortion argument is always a tough split decision. Some people lean towards pro life and some towards pro choice. The pro life group believes that every fetus should be kept alive since they are a developing human, and every human has a right to life. The pro choice believe that if it s the woman s body it should be her choice, especially in a case of rape. For my stance on the argument I stand with both pro life and pro choice due to certain arguments. These arguments came about after the Supreme Court case of Roe vs. Wade. The court case of Roe vs. Wade was decided in 1973 and under the fourteenth amendment abortion became legal. This court case started when a woman wanted to get an abortion in the state of Texas but abortions were only legal if it was for a medical reason. The woman did not have a medical reason but she stated that due to her mental health and not being able to take contraceptives she should be allowed to have an abortion. The court has then ruled a 7 to 2 vote that abortions are legal in the first trimester, and the second and third would be ruled by the state. Since the legalization of abortion from the Supreme Court case Roe vs. Wade, there have been over 54 million babies subjected to death by abortion. Deaths due to abortion are said to be higher than those from the Holocaust, other major 20th century genocides and even some World War II fatalities. The decision of the Roe vs. Wade case has denied unborn babies the right to life which we should ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 44. Themes InThe Swimmer, By John Cheever In John Cheever s short story, The Swimmer, we are introduced to Neddy Merrill a man who, at first glance, seemed to be an ordinary affluent suburban man enjoying some drinks by the pool with his neighbors. After lounging around with his neighbor, Neddy decided he s going to go home by swimming through his neighbor s pools. Through his swimming journey, Neddy slowly begins to acknowledge what has happened in his life. It wasn t until the moment that Neddy finally reaches his home that everything that has happened to him fully sinks in. At the end of The Swimmer, Neddy s vulnerability and lonesomeness are exposed. As Cheever wrote He shouted, pounded on the door, tried to force it with his shoulder, and then, looking in at the windows, saw that the place was empty (Cheever 737). In this sentence, we see the climax and conclusion of Neddy s journey, and the dawn of a new awareness. Before we reach the climax though, Cheever uses close proximity rhyming in the beginning of the sentence when he writes, He shouted, pounded on the door (Cheever 737). This literary device provides the reader with a glimpse into the powerful emotion surging through Neddy as he realizes that the home he thought he had no longer exists. As we see Neddy becoming increasingly frustrated, Cheever begins to transition this sentence to the climax of the story with Neddy feeling desperate and nervous. Neddy reaches his breaking point as he discovers what s in the house as Cheever wrote and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 45. Accountability of Sensitive Items Essay This essay will be about the importance of keeping the accountability of sensitive items and how the accountability of sensitive items affects the unit. AR 710 2 and AR 735 5 both cover the Army policy for property accountability. Some sensitive items are your weapon, military ID card, communication equipment, etcetera. Sensitive items are anything that can be used by opposing forces or the enemy to counter attack, weaken forces, and gain information, and so on. People will sometimes get relaxed or forgettable while not in a combat zone or operation area. If this happens it is very dangerous due to the fact that enemies are able to obtain any and possibly all of your sensitive items to gather information or harm you and your unit and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If this were to happen it could jeopardize the lives of our unit and other units as well. Another sensitive item would be NVG s or Night Vision Goggles. If you misplace or lose your Night Vision Goggles then you will not be able to see what is going on around you during the night. It could also aid the enemy in having the same advantages as you would have at night. This could potentially harm you or your unit. Maps and map overlays are also sensitive items because if the enemy were to acquire our map overlays then they would have knowledge of our battle positions, observation points, where the unit is located, ammunition points and supplies in general. This could harm you or your unit because the enemy would know your entire battle plan. All of these items are important to you and your unit because without them you and your unit are not fully mission capable and able to carry out the tasks given to you by your chain of command. If you lose one of your sensitive items it can harm your unit and keep you from completing your mission properly or at all. It could also prolong your mission until you are able to find what has been misplaced. It could also put you and your unit in harm s way due to the fact that they would be looking for the misplaced item and not paying attention to their surroundings. • 46. Assess The Difference Between Conductive Reasoning And... The first concepts I learned about in this chapter are the deductive and inductive reasoning. As developing techniques such as both deductive and inductive reasoning is an important portion of becoming a critical thinker. So what is deductive reasoning? Deductive reasoning is structured in such a way as to give as to give us certainty about what it true in a given situation. The conclusions certainty is established when deductive arguments contain true premises reasons stated in the correct form (Diestler 2012). So basically, deductive reasoning is taking some set of data or facts and using that to come up with other deducting facts. Therefore, you look at the factors that you re going away against each other so solve the problem with using math. In the example is trying finding a suitable girlfriend using numbers. The experiment was to see if the math could predict the volunteers which consist of the four nerdy science guys could get numbers from girls from a bar setting. The conclusion the volunteers were a success. Also, something that was discovered was with this simply analyzing the decision before hand seem to have given the guys more confidence to approach and talk to girls at the bar. The only person who was not successful was one of the guys Levi who reject the magic numbers and failed at the experiment in this performance.
