Advantages Of Appeasement
What would have happened if Hitler was stopped before WWII? What if the Allied forces stopped
Germany before it climaxed? Historians wonder if Adolf Hitler could have been controlled better in a
more effective way or if appeasement was the right choice. However, evidence shows that another
method called collective security may have been the better option. Collective security was when
nations joined together to create a stronger force against an enemy country, and rely on each other for
aid if necessary. It is believed that this would have been a more effective process for stopping Hitler
because it uses force in times where he was repeatedly violating the Treaty of Versailles, his ideas
were growing and getting more ambitious, and he was invading and taking land from other countries.
To start off, the reason collective security may have been the better route is because Hitler was
constantly ignoring the Treaty of Versailles, whose purpose was to weaken Germany. When other
countries saw Hitler s disobedience, they did nothing to enforce the treaty and let him continue to do

This is why collective security was the more reasonable approach. Germany was too powerful; the
Allies tried to take the easy way out and Secure for Europe a peaceful future (Keenan). Especially
since the German army used blitzkrieg to attack other countries, this made them more susceptible.
Appeasing Hitler would give him exactly what he wanted and only make his ego bigger, similar to
Napoleon. Moreover, Czechoslovakia was ceded just to avoid conflict. Of course, the people of Czech
were unhappy that their country got given away, especially since Czech defenses were very strong and
they were prepared to fight for their land (Keenan). Therefore, Czechoslovakia was given up for no
reason. To add on, the more territory Hitler took, the more soldiers he could enslave to do

What Is The Difference Between A PAnd Harrison Bergeron
Tim Kenda English 102 Short Story Essay 2/28/10 Heroism Through Choice When people think of
heroes, they often think of muscle bound men in spandex with unrealistic powers of flight, strength, or
x ray vision. But in real life, heroes are often determined based on the smallest of situations and their
outcomes. In both of the stories I have chosen (A P and Harrison Bergeron), the main characters are
classified as heroes because of their willingness to defy the authoritive forces around them, whether it
be the store manager Lengel in A P or the Handicapper General in Harrison Bergeron, as well as their
willingness to strike out on their own instead of adhering to social norms. In Harrison Bergeron, the
main character Harrison ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

and then goes on to describe Lengel by saying His face was dark gray and his back stiff, as if he d just
had an injection of iron. (Updike 529). When he sees Lengel in this state, he realizes that moments
before that had been him. At the end of the story, the cashier becomes a symbol of the thoughts of
many young people during the late fifties and early sixties. He does not want to work in the same
dreary place for his whole life. He does not want to be just like his parents and Lengel. And despite
that fact that he knows it will be hard, he makes the decision to strike out on his own, and
consequently to fight back against what he views as a dreary and depressing reality. That is a hard
decision to make, and a heroic one as well. As a result of his actions, the cashier in A P not only
commits a heroic gesture, he also becomes a symbol of the change that was taking place in the late
fifties and early sixties. Many young people at that point in time were breaking away from what their
parents were doing and were bravely striking off onto their own paths, just like the hero in our story.
The overall theme of the story mirrors the same path, showing the drear and the tension and the

Professor Mitra Biography
Professor Raka Mitra is a cell biologist in the Department of Biology here at Carleton College. She is
a Minnesota native and graduate from Robinsdale Armstrong High School, which is a public high
school northwest of the Twin Cities. She credits her high school s flexible curriculum in providing her
the foundation she needed to pursue a career in science, in addition to the strong support she had from
her family, who wished her well and gave her independence in her academic and career decisions; her
female friend group, whom she grew up and became valedictorian with; and her dance team, which
instilled confidence in her. Growing up, Professor Mitra was inclined to most of the sciences with the
exception of chemistry but it wasn t until her 10th grade AP biology class that she felt a stronger
inclination towards a particular field in STEM. It was during the unorthodox instruction she received
from her AP biology teacher in which he would encourage innovation and critical thinking by having
her and her fellow classmates answer problem sets with a library of science textbooks, and in which
he would assign oral biology ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Professor Mitra emphasizes on how science is ever changing and how major leaps in knowledge are
made regularly. She believes the today s advancements in genome sequencing and Clustered
Regularly Interspaced Short Palindromic Repeats (CRISPR) technology will dramatically change the
field of cellular and molecular biology moving forward. On a smaller scale, she believes the focus that
some of the biologist, including herself, make on mastering mechanisms and disease in easy to study
systems will eventually equip them with the knowledge and skills needed to leverage them to more
complicated systems, which will allow them to solve agricultural problems, such as determining what
causes pathogens to affect plants at the roots and reduce food

The current system of the LCBO, the Beer Store and the off site winery stores perform nearly identical
functions in providing alcoholic beverages and products to consumers. In fact, their retail stores are
sometimes located across the street from one another. But limited competition and separate business
objectives prevent these companies from capitalizing on each other s profits and market shares.
The LCBO and the Beer Store also act as wholesalers to each other and to agency stores, licensed
establishments and duty free stores, depending on the type of product(Exhibit 3 and 4). Unlike the
wholesale of domestic wines, spirits and foreign imports, the domestic beer manufactures deliver their
products to the Beer Store wholesale system. It has seven regional depots and ships the products with
its own truck fleet (291 distribution fleet vehicles) to the Beer Store stores, LCBO retail store, licensee
depots and agency stores across the province. However, the domestic beer manufacturers could deliver
their products directly to the LCBO retail store, licensee depots and duty free stores.

Summary Of Lather And Nothing Else By Hernando Tellez
The short story, Lather and Nothing Else by Hernando Tellez, takes readers along, as they view the
struggles that the barber is dealing with. The barber is troubled when he has to make the decision
about whether or not he will kill Captain Torres. The captain and the barber have a troubled
relationship because they work on opposing political parties. The barber imagines all the possible
ways he can murder Captain Torres and the after effects of doing so. On the last shave the barber
makes his decision, and decides not to kill Captain Torres since he is not a murderer. While Captain
Torres is gathering his stuff, we realize the reasons of him coming to the barber is to see if the barber
will actually kill him. Throughout the short story, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The barber is constantly imagining how he could kill the captain, which paints a vivid image in
readers heads. The barber pictures his actions, and this helps him come to the conclusion about killing
the captain. He makes sure to put everything into consideration so he will make no errors. The barber
goes in for the last shave. His Fate hangs on the edge of this razor blade. I can turn my wrist slightly,
put a bit more pressure on the blade, let it sink in. The skin will yield like silk, like rubber, like the
strop. There is nothing more tender than a man s skin, and the blood is always there, ready to burst
forth. A razor like this cannot fail. It is the best one I have. But I don t want to be a murderer. No, sir.
You [are] c[oming] in to be shaved. And I do my work honorably. I don t want to stain my hands with
blood. Just with lather, and nothing else. You are an executioner; I am only a barber. Each one to his
job. That s it. Each one to his job (346). This passage is filled with imagery, and one simile which
helps to discover the theme. The imagery is used to create a picture of what the scene would like like,
if he were to kill the Captain. The similes help to create a more detailed picture of the scene. He
pictures the amount of pressure he will use, and describes how the skin will react using a simile. He

Similarities Between The Hobbit And The Sword In The Stone
Final Essay
In a hole in the ground there lived a hobbit, writes J.R.R. Tolkien. Within Tolkien s famous novel The
Hobbit, Bilbo Baggins, thirteen dwarves, and a wizard named Gandalf embark on a journey to reclaim
the dwarves long forgotten gold. Although the story seems to be completely original and made of fresh
ideas, it is actually influenced by previous literature, like other common novels. Many legends of King
Arthur, with unknown authors, influenced J.R.R. Tolkien s The Hobbit. Several points and ideas in the
Arthurian story The Sword in the Stone are also reflected in The Hobbit. One theme in this story is
that one shouldn t have a bias towards who can do something and who cannot. For instance, in The
Hobbit, the dwarves believe that Bilbo can t be a good burglar and help them with their task because
he is a hobbit. When Bilbo had attempted to steal something that could ve saved them, Bombur said,
Silly time to practice pinching and go pocket picking, (Tolkien 41) although Bilbo ... Show more

In both of these stories, it begins with all parties being merry. In the first tale, it is the dwarves who are
merry, because they are giddy at the thought of regaining their gold. In the Arthurian tale, they are
joyous because it is Christmastime. In both fantasy tales, the hero is always expected to defeat the
largest foe. In The Hobbit, the hero s trouble is that no one wanted to defeat Smaug. In Sir Gawain and
the Green Knight, the problem is that none of the knights wanted to stand up and face the Green
Knight. One last similarity is that because of being chivalrous, nothing horrible happened to the hero
in the end. In Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, Gawain faced three testing temptations, but still
fulfilled his promise. In The Hobbit, Bilbo shows chivalry by bringing the Arkenstone to Bard and the
Elvenking as his plan. Thus, The Hobbit and Sir Gawain and the Green Knight are

Summary OfVideotape By Don Delillo
Imagine capturing a homicide on film by accident when you are just a child. Well in this short story
titled Videotape by Don DeLillo which was published in 1994, a young girl by the age of 12 was
recording with a video camera when she caught a murder. The story is being told by a man who is
watching this footage over and over again. He is clearly in awe and shock of what he is witnessing in
the video. Witnessing a murder is not easy for some people, and sometimes people do not know how
to react to these type of things.
Donald Richard Don DeLillo was born on November 20, 1936 in New York City. He is a well known
and beloved author who is adored by many, he has also won the Pulitzer Prize twice. The story is
being told by a man who is watching the tape over and over again. He is narrating the story in first
person and explaining the events that have transpired already. This gentleman cannot believe what he
is watching because he is in shock of how it happened.
There is no particular setting for this place but if there has to be one, it would be on the road or
highway to be more exact. The events of the murder already took place because the man is looking
back at it on the video. The present day would be wherever the man is currently at. In this story, there
are basically only three main characters. The girl who is videotaping is the main one of the story and
the one that we the audience follow. The second main character would be the older man who got killed
in the video.

Macbeth Pathetic Fallacy Essay
I wandered lonely as a cloud that floats on high o er vales and hills (William Wordsworth, I Wandered
Lonely as a Cloud). Wordsworth uses pathetic fallacy to deepen the meaning behind the poem, as seen
here, by stating I wandered lonely as a cloud...vales and hills , as opposed to simply saying, I
wandered lonely . Similarly, in Shakespeare s, Macbeth, pathetic fallacy deepens the plot with use of
nature allegories. Firstly, at the beginning of the play, the weather of thunder and lightning symbolises
a gloomy event to occur, in which, three murtherers kill Banquo. Secondly, with the air being
somewhat mysterious, odd events begin to happen, which lead to Macbeth s death. Finally, with a
cloudy sky overhead, the darkness symbolises ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The pathetic fallacy in this statement is the quality and condition of the air is a sign that odd events
will come. Continuing on, when Macduff and Macbeth meet in Macbeth s castle at the end of the play,
Macbeth states that only a man who is not born from a woman can kill him. Macduff counters back to
Macbeth that , And let the angel whom thou still hast served / Tell thee, Macduff was from his mother
s womb / Untimely ripped (5.8.14 16). Macduff states that because of being cut out the womb as
opposed to being born naturally, Macduff is the one who is to kill Macbeth. The analogy of the foggy
and filthy air giving light to odd events to come lead to Macbeth s death because Macduff fits the
description the apparition gave Macbeth. Last but not least, Fleance s note to Banquo about not being
able to see the moon foreshadows of an incoming evil deed, which ends up being Duncan s death.
Banquo and FLeance are sitting outside of Macduff s castle and Banquo asks if Fleance knows what
time it is, and Fleance responds with, The moon is down. I have not heard the clock (2.1.2). Fleance is
unable to tell the time to Banquo because of the lack of moon to alarm the bell of midnight, showing
that the weather is cloudy. Adding on, due to the weather, the event of an evil deed does happen, in the
form of Duncan s death in the hands of Macbeth. Lady Macbeth approaches Duncan s room, when
Macbeth asks who is there and

The theory of multiple intelligences which has been a significant and remarkable contribution for
many educators and researchers that were studying the reasons and element necessaries to the teaching
of specific intelligences was elaborated by Howard Gardner a Harvard Psychologist using many
science concepts to explain human intellect.
In this theory of Multiples intelligences at the beginning he proposed that there were seven main
identified fields in which everybody have special abilities that he describes as intelligences.
With the Gardner definition of multiples intelligence as a mix of abilities that can be broadened and
developed throughout the course of an individual life. He created the bases for a new education model.
With this conception that it is actually implemented in many school around the world his followers
can see and assure most of the background ideas of his theory.
Gardner study at Harvard University was to address the work of Alfred Binet about The IQ or
Intelligence quotient that it s supposed to measure the intelligence. This test is the base too of another
well known test used now a days in a lot of schools, the famous SAT or Scholastic Aptitude Test

Materialism In Wings By Futhermore
This verse from the song Wings wrote by Macklemore reflect a quite right image of today s world
where the act of buying is becoming the solution to everything. As the rapper says, an object is
nothing more than an object. Thus materialism is an inappropriate solution to emotional and social
problems, which can result in psycological difficulties. However, Some people think that the
materialism is part of human nature itself so it could really makes them happier, cooler and more
fulfilled. For exemple, they think that it is natural to believe they would live better with the Bell Fiber
TV because it have the best HD picture quality and a lot of features, like the play back fonction or the

What Is Formative And Summative Assessment
Introduction
Assessment can be the engine of curriculum reform, or the principal impediment to its implementation
(Mary Barnes, 2000) is a thought which is of great debate in the Republic of Ireland today. Education
and curriculum are constantly evolving and often assessment gets left behind. The relationship
between student learning and an effective curriculum lies in the power of the assessment. One cannot
thrive without the other, and one cannot be entirely effective unless the other is equally as effective.
In this assignment I will explore the types of assessment, particularly formative and summative
assessment which are used worldwide in the classroom. As well as the history of assessment in
Ireland, the newest junior cycle programme and finally ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Research has shown that formative assessment is effective in all educational settings (Paul Black,
1998).One major difference between formative assessment and summative assessment is the way in
which formative assessment uses student involvement as an integral pillar. Without student
involvement in the assessment process, formative assessment is not reaching its full potential. Many
research papers have shown that student motivation is dramatically increased when students are
involved in both their own learning and in the learning of others (Pintrich de Groot, 1990).Teachers,
however, do not have a sit back role in formative assessment. They are still crucial to the proper use of
this assessment by ways of designing appropriate assessment tasks, identifying attainable learning
goals and outlining clear criteria for student success. One key factor in formative assessment is the
return of feedback to students. Many studies have shown that substantial learning gains are the
outcome of an effective and frequent feedback process from teacher to student (Wiliam,

the American dream and America, through the eyes of father and son through many specific aspects of
drugs, conflicting views, and balance.
Through Vito s point of view of America and its dream are law, order, stability, family, and security.
He fled from his home in Sicily to escape the balance of Mafia to an unbalanced place to bring needed
order. Since his family was all killed by the mob, Vito wanted to bring security for his family. In the

his power on the status quo. Michael in contrast wanted to stay moral and crimeless, but as time went
on corruption and greed plagued the dream. Michael slowly turned into becoming the new Godfather
through the Crime war. His view of the crime business was that it was immoral and not personal, it
was merely just for survival. Michael wanted to bring things again to a balance. In result, he escapes
because of the crime war. Michael voyages back to Sicily where his family started. Michael, just like
Vito, escaped from unbalance to seek balance, but in the end is seen again being hunted by the same
mafia that killed Vito s family. Michael comes back and becomes a criticizer of the whole family
business and is seeing the corruption, greed, and desire plaguing the American dream. Through the
plaguing greed, crime families are battling over the business and not working together. Corruption is
seen through the political system and police because of the immunities that some of the crime families
get, which for example is having the police as bodyguards. Their ultimate desire of becoming the top

Tyson Mistake
If we learn any lesson from this fight, it is this; we must be very careful not to repeat the mistake that
Tyson made in preparing for this fight. Tyson underestimated Douglas. He figured that since he had
beaten everyone that had beaten Douglas, he shouldn t even have to break a sweat to defeat him.
Therefore he didn t train properly or prepare for this fight. Often times, we make this same mistake
when dealing with our spiritual enemy. We often underestimate him and because of that we fail to
prepare for the fight. Tyson didn t watch any tapes of Douglas previous fights, so that he could learn
his reach, his stance or his signature moves. His failure to watch the tapes meant he was unable to see

This is the mistake that we make so often as believers. We don t study our spiritual enemy. We trust
too much in our own strength and ability. Just because we are saved, sanctified and filled with the

mean that we can t learn from the spiritual battles that our brothers and sisters in Christ have won
against him. We must be strategic about our victories. When we go into any spiritual battle we must
remember that God always causes us to triumph! Regardless of the situation or circumstance, we will

California Is Notorious For Its Wildfires
California is notorious for its wildfires. In the last two decades San Diego County has faced some of
the most destructive firestorms in state history (Brainard, 2007). Ron Roberts, chairman of the San
Diego County Board of Supervisors, describes the county s disposition as, We have a very dangerous,
unpredictable situation. We have some of the highest temperatures, some of the driest landscape
conditions, and some of the most powerful winds all ingredients for a perfect firestorm (Pesce, 2007).
In 2003, San Diego County was overwhelmed by firestorms, including the Cedar Fire, and at that time
it was the worst in state history. However, in 2007 San Diego was once again devastated by firestorms,
but this time more mighty than the preceding (Ekard, Tuck, Jr., Steffen, 2003). San Diego has had its
fair share of practice at managing firestorm response actions. The 2003 firestorms proved that there
were numerous inefficiencies within the county s emergency response plan, while the 2007 firestorms
emergency response revealed the lessons learned from 2003 and improvements implemented were
effective. The threat of future firestorms in San Diego County are inevitable due to the continuing
drought, Santa Anna winds, climate changes, and human behavior (Pesce, 2007). Having a well
constructed Incident Command System (ICS) and the trained personnel to execute its model is the
most effective measure to mitigate the degree of life lost and property damage in a disaster incident. A

Mosaic CovenantAnd The Noahic Covenant, And The New...
God created the universe with absolute perfection. However, with the downfall of humanity stemming
from Original Sin, the Fallen spiraled its effects on mankind that carries forth today. As a result, many
catastrophic events have been recorded in the Bible, which are known as historical facts to Christians.
Because God is a loving and merciful God, He established the Noahic Covenant, Abrahamic
Covenant, Mosaic Covenant, Davidic Covenant, and the New Covenant that all relate and expand with
each other and provides hope for Jews and Christians in the past, today, and future.
After God washed the earth of evil by flood (Genesis 5:32 10:1), He created the Noahic Covenant
between Noah and his descendants. With accurate clarification to the Noahic Covenant, God makes an
unconditional promise to Noah and all descendants that He will never flood the earth again and seals
His vow with a rainbow across the clouds. Based on the unconditional promise made, God had no
expectations of Noah and his descendants (Genesis 9). Why did God feel the need to generate a bond
with Noah and his descendants? His compassion and mercy glorifies through His works and vows.
Busenitz highlights God s forgiveness stating, In the Noahic Covenant, God showed His gracious
mercy toward all mankind, both redeemed and unredeemed, causing it to rain on the just and the
unjust and assuring the ongoing, uninterrupted cycle of seasons (Busenitz, page 10, 1999).
Furthermore, one can also grasp that God remains

Yoko Ono s Cut Piece
YOKO ONO S CUT PIECE was first performed on July 20th, 1964 as part of an evening of works
billed as Contemporary American Avant Garde Music Concert. Yoko Ono sat in a polite Japanese
sitting position seiza for formal or respectable environments and asked audience members to cut off a
piece of clothing and take it with them. This she referred to as a strip tease show to strip the mind. The
obvious interpretation of Ono s cut piece is a response to sexual aggression on the female form, and
the the violation of a woman s personal space. It is one of the most memorable pieces of the Fluxus
movement and a clear prototype for feminist art. However, there is more to distinguish from Yoko
Ono s piece. The context of this piece had a darker underlying motif for the meaning of the naked
body, and the tearing away of clothes. It was a direct response to the bombing in Hiroshima and the
decade long artistic censorship of the Hibakusha (atomic survivors.) Ono s ... Show more content on

For some, Fluxus employs the absurd to escape from the numbing truths of war; as one Italian critic
writes, Fluxus arises as the rejection of a reality that has left behind it the systemic carnage of
Auschwitz and Hiroshima to look at the even more sophisticated carnage of Vietnam . For others, the
use of the individual body with its expressive or emotive gestures in art is viewed as a redemptive
return to subjectivity (page 105) this return to subjectivity is something that yoko ono was inviting the
audience to do with her and be mindful of the relationship to certain traumas that one may have
experienced. Whether it be a violent act of war or an aggression on the female form, there was
something very symbolic about Yoko Ono s piece. It can be broken down and dissected in three

The Cardiovascular System Of The Heart And The Vasculature
The cardiovascular system is formed by the heart and the vasculature, a close system of vessels, which
include arteries, arterioles, capillaries, venules, veins and lymph vessels.
The heart is located in the mediastinum, about two thirds from the body midline. Three layers form the
heart. From the inside out: endocardium, myocardium and epicardium. The myocardium, the thickest
of all, is formed by striated muscle to provide the heart with the contractibility necessary to pump the
blood into the vasculature. (Martini, Nath, Bartholomew, 2008)
The myocardium contains the pacemaker cells that generate electrical impulses to create the heart s
movements. These impulses are triggered by action potentials in the pacemaker cells of the Sinoatrial
Node. These are then transmitted to the atria and to the AV node. (Hull Slegg, 2009)
The heart is divided into four chambers; the superior chambers (atria) receive blood and are connected
to the inferior chambers (ventricle), through the atrioventricular valves. Once in the ventricles, blood
is ejected to the vasculature through the semilunar valves. These valves, similar to the ones in the
veins, ensure the unidirectionality of blood flow.
As with the heart, endothelium provides the internal layer (tunica intima) for all the vasculature.
Apart from the capillaries and venules, which only consist of endothelium, the rest of the vasculature
is formed by three layers: tunica intima, tunica media, and tunica adventitia. (Marieb

Encompassing this war, the anti war movement was fueled by three ambitious groups who, in their

the new conservative republicans with three movements that made up the anti war radicalism. These
three movements include, the New Left movement, Black Power and Women s liberation movement.

If there is no struggle, there is no change
To guarantee a wholesome, enriching experience of change in the individual it is vital to accept
struggle. Facing the struggle can test relationships, introduce unclear perception of ones identity and
produce unpredictable situations; though change must be able to transpire to truly create complete
development in the individual. Director Ron Howard discovers the unique mind that takes root inside

Confronting an ongoing world economic recession and very high rates of unemployment throughout
certain parts of the world such as Europe, the EEC was looking for many new ways to get the most out

The phenomenal success of the Wild West was founded on a nostalgia for the passing frontier which
swept the nation in the late 19th Century. But Buffalo Bill himself never looked backward. All my
interests are still with the west the modern west, he wrote near the end of his life.
He used his fame and public attention as a soapbox for western causes, for the rights of Indians and
women, and for conservation. As early as 1879 he cautioned the government to never make a single
promise to the Indians that is not fulfilled. All frontier scouts respected the Indian, he said. Every
Indian outbreak that I have ever known has resulted from broken promises and broken treaties by the
government. America was the Indian s heritage, and the Indian had only fought for what was his.
In 1894 a woman reporter asked him whether he thought the majority of women qualified to vote. He
was caught off guard but answered, As well qualified as the majority of men. The women in his Wild
West were as skilled and courageous as the men. If a woman can do the same work that a man can do
and do it just as well, he said she should have the same pay.
Cody recognized very early that a developer in the West was obligated to be a preserver as well. He
has spoken out against the hide hunters of the 1870s and 1880s for slaughtering the buffalo cruelly,
recklessly. In Wyoming and Colorado he worked to establish game preserves and limit hunting
seasons. Gifford

Cyrus II of Persia, also known as Cyrus the Great, was one of the most influential and powerful rulers
in the Ancient World.¹ By overthrowing the Assyrian empire, he was able to start the Persian Empire.
Through his superior diplomacy skills within his empire, to his genius war tactics, he built the
foundation for a line of Persian Kings to rule one of the largest empires in world history.
Cyrus the Great s(C. 600 530 BCE) expansion started in Persia, located on the southern portion of the

The cylinder is written in Babylonian script stating that Marduk, the city god of Babylon, had looked
for a champion to restore Babylon to it s old ways, and chose Cyrus, King of Persia, and declared him
king of the world. ⁹ Marduk ordered Cyrus to rule over the tribes of Iran justly, and to march on
Babylon which was uncontested, and the King of Babylon surrendered and the people of Babylon
rejoiced for Cyrus as their king.
Cyrus had set himself apart from other rulers by compromising with his empire rather than forcing his
entire will on them. He accomplished this by allowing people that had been moved from their
homeland to return, most notably allowing the Jews to return to Jerusalem after Nebuchadnezzar had
them exiled and held captive in Babylon.⁴ On top of them returning, Cyrus also encouraged them to
rebuild their temple, which was also one of his finer qualities.
During his conquests, he would allow the people to keep their religions and cultural differences, while
allowing them to part of the Persian Empire. While Cyrus did allow these freedoms, he also was able

Myoblast Lab Report
One of the major things that we studied in the lab was using myoblast, which is also a muscle
precursor who can differentiate with the proper signal which helps with differentiated cells. Myosin
light chain was a major role when they came with muscle contraction within the culture cells that were
placed in the differentiation media. My partner and I did this experiment by following the protocol
which helped us properly assess the myosin light chain. Some of the procedures included harvesting
and culturing the cells as well as extracting the cells and using SDS page and for analysis, we used
Western blot. Based on what we observed during this experiment, we noticed that the myosin light
chain could be found in both the growth media and differentiation. In the other samples, there was no
myosin light chain. This shows that myosin light chain can detect the differentiated cells. We noticed

Stereotypes In High School
High school is full of a variety of types of people, who can all be labeled into certain groups or
stereotypes. High school can be an amazing time for people, just as easily as it could be a terrible time
for people. It s quite odd how everyone goes to the same school, and mostly attend the same courses,
yet they are significantly different from one another. Every school has the classic jocks, nerds,
partiers/stoners, etc., but it appears our generation has created several new stereotypes. With students
spending approximately 35 hours a week at school, it is easy for one another to label each other, and
determine who they fit in with.
The most common stereotype in Spring Lake is the Preppy Rich Kid. The Preppy part of these kids is
that they love to wear a perfectly matching outfit; including their colorful Polo Shirts/t shirts, colorful
short shorts, matching socks, with a matching pair of boat shoes/skate shoes. The Rich part of these
kids is that they live in a big house on the water, their parents have high paying jobs, and their parents
will buy them whatever they desire. These kids typically drive an expensive foreign car, usually
blaring rap music out of their car s subwoofer everyday to school. Once they have arrived at school,
most of them have a very enjoyable day. For the most part, they have a perfect life, including getting
all the girls/boys, receiving good grades, being attractive, and being a phenomenal athlete. These kids
are likable people, and

The Voice of Reason in Tartuffe by Jean-Baptiste Poquelin...
Jean Baptiste Poquelin Moliere wrote Tartuffe during the beginning of the Age of Enlightenment. One
of the main characteristics of the Age of Enlightenment was a push towards using reason over
emotions to make decisions. The leaders of the enlightenment truly believed that the world could be
made a better place if people did this. In Tartuffe, when the characters use their emotions to make their
decisions they find themselves in undesirable situations. While those who let their emotions rule them
find their lives spinning out of control, there are other characters in the play who try to approach them
with reason and logic. Out of these characters the lady s maid Dorine stands out as the voice of reason.
There are several stock characters ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I m far less awed;/ In fact, I see right through him. He s a fraud. (I.1.69 70) Dorine s blunt words carry
more weight than the other characters in this scene for several reasons. Dorine represents the average
person more than anyone else in the play. She is not highly educated like Cleante and she did not have
the upbringing that the other characters did. For someone in her position, a lady s maid, to see the
truth so clearly, it exaggerates the absurdity that Orgon and Madame Pernelle do not. In Dramatic
Justice in Tartuffe, Myrna Kogan Zwillenberg wrote, To be sure, Molière has taken the precaution of
signaling such incidents by having the servant Dorine express her exaggerated moral outrage, a
significant device which pinpoints the areas meant to be ridiculous. (Myrna Kogan Zwillenberg 1)
It seems that Moliere was more than likely making a statement with Dorine s character, that anyone
can use their common sense. It does not take a college education or fine upbringing to see through the
mask that some people present themselves with. Dorine was his way of encouraging others to see what
lies are right in front of their face. The play was very controversial for the time it was written in, and
in fact had to be rewritten in order for it to be performed. Moliere also had to petition for permission
for Tartuffe to be performed. There are several political views hidden in the lines.
Dorine speaks out against

Calveta Dining Services, Inc. Jinu JosephPA1115 |
Abstract
Calveta Dining Services, Inc. was a $2 billion, privately held firm that provided food services to
almost 1000 senior living facilities (SLF s) in the United States. Antonio Calveta, the founder of
Calveta Dining retired in 2007 after 35 years of leadership and he named his eldest son Frank as the
new CEO and told him to double the company s revenues within a space of 5 years. The dilemma that
Frank was facing was that even after 2 years into this job of his he did not have any credible strategies
to fulfill his father s promise or to attain aggressive growth as his father wanted. Calveta Dining

2. The financial challenges of getting into the hospital segment was there but it was always achievable.
3. The greatest positive to Calveta Dining Services was the working culture by which they could
prosper in any segment.
Interpretation
The interpretation that can be derived from the above analysis is that it would be better for Frank to
think about diversifying the business rather than acquiring GSD. Even Frank knew that it was a huge
risk to acquire GSD considering the heavy debt the business would be in after the acquisition, besides
Calveta Dining would find it difficult to train GSD employees to the work culture of Calveta Dining.
Frank should not make this decision only with the purpose of meeting his father s goal because this
may harm the firm in the long run. Frank had his own problems organizational restructuring to do for
Calveta Dining and in such a circumstance if Frank acquired GSD then his problem woul grow from
bad to worse because it would not be an easy task to change the entire work culture of GSD within a
short span of time, and apart from the debts of acquiring GSD Frank would also need to generate
funds for the training of the staff teaching them Antonio s way. The reason for a few customer
dissatisfaction was in the the promotion from within

many of the world s First including an electronic dictionary, inkjet printer, personal calculator, and

first established in 1957 alongside the grand debut of its prototype compact calculator. Since then the
company has evolved throughout the years as a corporation by expanding into subsidiary branches and
competing at the cutting edge of trends.
Apple s foray into the smartwatch market made huge splashes in 2015. It was highly praised for its
intuitive features and its symbiotic affinity with iPhones. While the Apple watch may be strong and
flexible in functionality it might have drawn inspiration from one of Casio s early projects. Forbes
cites Casio s F 91W to be ahead of its time, withholding the bells and whistles of a smartwatch, the F
91W boasted a 24 hour clock, day/date display, and alarms accompanied by digital chiming. (Spence)
When it comes to manufacturing goods, Casio takes an interesting approach to making its products.

Causes of shifts in labor demand curve
Causes of shifts in labor demand curve The labor demand curve shows the value of the marginal
product of labor as a function of quantity of labor hired. Using this fact, it can be seen that the
following changes shift the labor demand curve: The output price. When output price rises, the labor
demand curve shifts to the right { more labor is demanded at each wage. When output price falls, less
labor is demanded at each wage. Technological change causes the MPL function to change, generally
to in crease at each level of L. This shifts the labor demand curve to the right. For instance between
1960 and 2000 the average hourly output produced by US workers rose by 140 percent. However, it is
also possible for technological change ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The wage falls from W1 to W2. As the wage falls, it becomes pro table for rms to hire more
workers. As the rm hires more workers, the marginal product of a worker decreases, so value of
marginal product decreases. In the new equilibrium wage equals value of marginal product of labor
and both are lower than before. Example from Israel: How a shift in labor supply changes the
equilibrium wages. In the 1980s many Palestinians commuted from their homes in West Bank or Gaza
strip to work in Israel (often in construction, agriculture). In 1988, due to Intifada, Israel imposed
curfews, checked work permits more thoroughly, ban of Palestinians staying overnight in Israel
enforced. Number of Palestinians with jobs in Israel decreased by half. Palestinians who kept jobs in
Israel had 50 percent wage increases. With fewer Palestinian workers in Israel, each worker s value of
marginal product was higher. Shifts in labor demand Suppose apples become more popular ! demand
shifts to the right ! price of apples rises. The marginal product of labor (MPL) has not changed. But
value of marginal product of labor (P MPL) has increased. 3 The higher price of apples makes it
pro table to hire more apple pickers. Demand for labor shifts to the right. Equilibrium wage rises and
equilibrium employment rises, as in the graph: D1 D2 L1 L2 W1 W2 S Prosperity of rms in an

Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky Essay
Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky is the author of six symphonies and the finest and
most popular operas in the Russian repertory. Tchaikovsky was also one of the founders of the school
of Russian music. He was a brilliant composer with a creative imagination that helped his career
throughout many years. He was completely attached to his art. His life and art were inseparably
woven together. I literally cannot live without working, Tchaikovsky once wrote, for as soon as one
piece of work is finished and one would wish to relax, I desire to tackle some new work without delay.

The young Peter would enter a ministry of Justice as a clerk in 1859 (Mason 1). Tchaikovsky stayed
there four years despite the long journey to Western Europe and increasing involvement in music. In
1863 he entered the conservatory where he took private teachings and focused all his energy to his
music and compositions. Three years later in 1866 he and his family had moved to Moscow with a
professorship of harmony at a new conservatory. Even by this time very little of his music had pleased
the conservative musical establishment or the more nationalist group. It was not until 1868 when his
1st Symphony had a good public reception when heard in Moscow. Not even a year later Tchaikovsky
wrote his first opera the Voyevada. He later used this piece in his next opera the Oprichnik, which won
some success at St. Petersburg in 1874. It was then that a critic named Balakirev requested that he
write a work on Romeo and Juliet, which would later be known as the Fantasy Overture. This specific
work was rewritten many times until it met the requirements of Balakirev. This romantic piece is a
symphony where each theme stood for a character in the drama. It is these expressive themes that
make his first works well defined. The symphony Romeo and Juliet is a love song in sonata form. It is
a Fantasy Overture and not a symphonic poem, because Tchaikovsky makes no attempt to tell the
story in order or in detail (Hanson 118). The piece opens with

Simon Bolivar And George Washington
Two Heroes, One Continent
Simon Bolivar and George Washington were two heroes that were born in the new continent. They
had special military abilities and exceptional intelligence. They had won their place in history for
being the biggest liberators of our continent. Bolivar the father of the countries that he liberates and
Washington is the father of United States of America. Both had an aristocrat family and a good
education, but they fought against oppression and against the Spanish and British Empires.
Simon Jose Antonio de la Santísima Trinidad Bolivar and Palacios was born in Caracas on July 24,

The strategies of war for both were very different. Bolivar used strong military strategies and had a
brilliant use of cavalry and flanking. He was also a supporter of the use of the surprise factor in
battles. He had an advantage, the British forces helped him to win. Nevertheless, he participates and
win two big battles, Carabobo and Boyacá. Although originally Washington had advocated the
development of a traditional war, he was convinced of the effectiveness of harassing the British. I use
it by much the military tactic called Fabiana. One of the most important was the victory against of the
French invasion.
In terms of political strategies. the vision of bolivar always involved people as part of the nation.
Simon Bolivar was a stronger general. Was unable to create his republic. Bolivar tried to use authority
to create stability, but failed. in some years later his vision was clouded by the victory and began to
develop characteristics dictatorial. He was commonly seen as a dictator from his authoritative views.
He declared himself dictator of Gran Colombia in 1828.
Washington was the stronger leader for allowing his country to develop. Washington stood down from
commander in chief of the Continental Army in 1783, and allowed the government to develop itself by

Differences Between Julius Caesar And Cleopatra
I think that Caesar was a better leader than Cleopatra, because he was actually kinda already a leader
to the people in Rome. Cleopatra did not really lead anybody she was just a women who wanted
power and to be on top. She wanted to rule everyone and from the story on actively learn it seems like
she did not care about anybody she just wanted to be a head of everything, and also have the throne.
Cleopatra killed her brother and sister just to make sure and guarantee that she becomes queen. In
which seems not leadership nor good, in the end she also killed herself. Caesar on the other hand
fought for what he believed in and fought for the people, he went to war and was gone for years until
he was finished with what he had to get done. For example when Caesar came back to Rome after the
whole fighting thing, he told the people that he did not wish to be king. Before Caesar came back,
Caesar told his friend to go to Rome and ask the people what they wanted in the film. In which made
the people like Caesar even more because he actually cared about his people in Rome, unlike the other
senators. The other senators were different from Caesar because they did not care what the people
wanted in Rome nor did they bother to ask them, what they wanted. The other senators only cared
about royalty and getting what they wanted and what their children or significant other wanted.
Cleopatra did have an army that set camp up outside of Alexandria, all because she wanted sole
leadership so

  • 2. Advantages Of Appeasement What would have happened if Hitler was stopped before WWII? What if the Allied forces stopped Germany before it climaxed? Historians wonder if Adolf Hitler could have been controlled better in a more effective way or if appeasement was the right choice. However, evidence shows that another method called collective security may have been the better option. Collective security was when nations joined together to create a stronger force against an enemy country, and rely on each other for aid if necessary. It is believed that this would have been a more effective process for stopping Hitler because it uses force in times where he was repeatedly violating the Treaty of Versailles, his ideas were growing and getting more ambitious, and he was invading and taking land from other countries. To start off, the reason collective security may have been the better route is because Hitler was constantly ignoring the Treaty of Versailles, whose purpose was to weaken Germany. When other countries saw Hitler s disobedience, they did nothing to enforce the treaty and let him continue to do ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is why collective security was the more reasonable approach. Germany was too powerful; the Allies tried to take the easy way out and Secure for Europe a peaceful future (Keenan). Especially since the German army used blitzkrieg to attack other countries, this made them more susceptible. Appeasing Hitler would give him exactly what he wanted and only make his ego bigger, similar to Napoleon. Moreover, Czechoslovakia was ceded just to avoid conflict. Of course, the people of Czech were unhappy that their country got given away, especially since Czech defenses were very strong and they were prepared to fight for their land (Keenan). Therefore, Czechoslovakia was given up for no reason. To add on, the more territory Hitler took, the more soldiers he could enslave to do ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. What Is The Difference Between A PAnd Harrison Bergeron Tim Kenda English 102 Short Story Essay 2/28/10 Heroism Through Choice When people think of heroes, they often think of muscle bound men in spandex with unrealistic powers of flight, strength, or x ray vision. But in real life, heroes are often determined based on the smallest of situations and their outcomes. In both of the stories I have chosen (A P and Harrison Bergeron), the main characters are classified as heroes because of their willingness to defy the authoritive forces around them, whether it be the store manager Lengel in A P or the Handicapper General in Harrison Bergeron, as well as their willingness to strike out on their own instead of adhering to social norms. In Harrison Bergeron, the main character Harrison ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... After he quits, he looks back and sees Lengel in [his] place in the slot, checking the sheep through. and then goes on to describe Lengel by saying His face was dark gray and his back stiff, as if he d just had an injection of iron. (Updike 529). When he sees Lengel in this state, he realizes that moments before that had been him. At the end of the story, the cashier becomes a symbol of the thoughts of many young people during the late fifties and early sixties. He does not want to work in the same dreary place for his whole life. He does not want to be just like his parents and Lengel. And despite that fact that he knows it will be hard, he makes the decision to strike out on his own, and consequently to fight back against what he views as a dreary and depressing reality. That is a hard decision to make, and a heroic one as well. As a result of his actions, the cashier in A P not only commits a heroic gesture, he also becomes a symbol of the change that was taking place in the late fifties and early sixties. Many young people at that point in time were breaking away from what their parents were doing and were bravely striking off onto their own paths, just like the hero in our story. The overall theme of the story mirrors the same path, showing the drear and the tension and the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

She is a Minnesota native and graduate from Robinsdale Armstrong High School, which is a public high school northwest of the Twin Cities. She credits her high school s flexible curriculum in providing her the foundation she needed to pursue a career in science, in addition to the strong support she had from her family, who wished her well and gave her independence in her academic and career decisions; her female friend group, whom she grew up and became valedictorian with; and her dance team, which instilled confidence in her. Growing up, Professor Mitra was inclined to most of the sciences with the exception of chemistry but it wasn t until her 10th grade AP biology class that she felt a stronger inclination towards a particular field in STEM. It was during the unorthodox instruction she received from her AP biology teacher in which he would encourage innovation and critical thinking by having her and her fellow classmates answer problem sets with a library of science textbooks, and in which he would assign oral biology ... The current system of the LCBO, the Beer Store and the off site winery stores perform nearly identical functions in providing alcoholic beverages and products to consumers. The LCBO and the Beer Store also act as wholesalers to each other and to agency stores, licensed establishments and duty free stores, depending on the type of product(Exhibit 3 and 4). The barber goes in for the last shave. His Fate hangs on the edge of this razor blade. I can turn my wrist slightly, put a bit more pressure on the blade, let it sink in. The skin will yield like silk, like rubber, like the strop. There is nothing more tender than a man s skin, and the blood is always there, ready to burst forth. A razor like this cannot fail. It is the best one I have. But I don t want to be a murderer. No, sir. You [are] c[oming] in to be shaved. And I do my work honorably. I don t want to stain my hands with blood. Just with lather, and nothing else. You are an executioner; I am only a barber. Each one to his job. That s it. Each one to his job (346). This passage is filled with imagery, and one simile which helps to discover the theme. The imagery is used to create a picture of what the scene would like like, if he were to kill the Captain. • 8. Similarities Between The Hobbit And The Sword In The Stone Final Essay In a hole in the ground there lived a hobbit, writes J.R.R. Tolkien. Within Tolkien s famous novel The Hobbit, Bilbo Baggins, thirteen dwarves, and a wizard named Gandalf embark on a journey to reclaim the dwarves long forgotten gold. Although the story seems to be completely original and made of fresh ideas, it is actually influenced by previous literature, like other common novels. Many legends of King Arthur, with unknown authors, influenced J.R.R. Tolkien s The Hobbit. Several points and ideas in the Arthurian story The Sword in the Stone are also reflected in The Hobbit. One theme in this story is that one shouldn t have a bias towards who can do something and who cannot. For instance, in The Hobbit, the dwarves believe that Bilbo can t be a good burglar and help them with their task because he is a hobbit. When Bilbo had attempted to steal something that could ve saved them, Bombur said, Silly time to practice pinching and go pocket picking, (Tolkien 41) although Bilbo ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In both of these stories, it begins with all parties being merry. In the first tale, it is the dwarves who are merry, because they are giddy at the thought of regaining their gold. In the Arthurian tale, they are joyous because it is Christmastime. In both fantasy tales, the hero is always expected to defeat the largest foe. In The Hobbit, the hero s trouble is that no one wanted to defeat Smaug. In Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, the problem is that none of the knights wanted to stand up and face the Green Knight. One last similarity is that because of being chivalrous, nothing horrible happened to the hero in the end. In Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, Gawain faced three testing temptations, but still fulfilled his promise. In The Hobbit, Bilbo shows chivalry by bringing the Arkenstone to Bard and the Elvenking as his plan. Thus, The Hobbit and Sir Gawain and the Green Knight are ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Well in this short story titled Videotape by Don DeLillo which was published in 1994, a young girl by the age of 12 was recording with a video camera when she caught a murder. The story is being told by a man who is watching this footage over and over again. He is clearly in awe and shock of what he is witnessing in the video. Witnessing a murder is not easy for some people, and sometimes people do not know how to react to these type of things. Donald Richard Don DeLillo was born on November 20, 1936 in New York City. He is a well known and beloved author who is adored by many, he has also won the Pulitzer Prize twice. The story is being told by a man who is watching the tape over and over again. He is narrating the story in first person and explaining the events that have transpired already. This gentleman cannot believe what he is watching because he is in shock of how it happened. There is no particular setting for this place but if there has to be one, it would be on the road or highway to be more exact. The events of the murder already took place because the man is looking back at it on the video. The present day would be wherever the man is currently at. In this story, there are basically only three main characters. The girl who is videotaping is the main one of the story and the one that we the audience follow. The second main character would be the older man who got killed in the video. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. Macbeth Pathetic Fallacy Essay I wandered lonely as a cloud that floats on high o er vales and hills (William Wordsworth, I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud). Wordsworth uses pathetic fallacy to deepen the meaning behind the poem, as seen here, by stating I wandered lonely as a cloud...vales and hills , as opposed to simply saying, I wandered lonely . Similarly, in Shakespeare s, Macbeth, pathetic fallacy deepens the plot with use of nature allegories. Firstly, at the beginning of the play, the weather of thunder and lightning symbolises a gloomy event to occur, in which, three murtherers kill Banquo. Secondly, with the air being somewhat mysterious, odd events begin to happen, which lead to Macbeth s death. Finally, with a cloudy sky overhead, the darkness symbolises ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The pathetic fallacy in this statement is the quality and condition of the air is a sign that odd events will come. Continuing on, when Macduff and Macbeth meet in Macbeth s castle at the end of the play, Macbeth states that only a man who is not born from a woman can kill him. Macduff counters back to Macbeth that , And let the angel whom thou still hast served / Tell thee, Macduff was from his mother s womb / Untimely ripped (5.8.14 16). Macduff states that because of being cut out the womb as opposed to being born naturally, Macduff is the one who is to kill Macbeth. The analogy of the foggy and filthy air giving light to odd events to come lead to Macbeth s death because Macduff fits the description the apparition gave Macbeth. Last but not least, Fleance s note to Banquo about not being able to see the moon foreshadows of an incoming evil deed, which ends up being Duncan s death. Banquo and FLeance are sitting outside of Macduff s castle and Banquo asks if Fleance knows what time it is, and Fleance responds with, The moon is down. I have not heard the clock (2.1.2). Fleance is unable to tell the time to Banquo because of the lack of moon to alarm the bell of midnight, showing that the weather is cloudy. Materialism In Wings By Futhermore This verse from the song Wings wrote by Macklemore reflect a quite right image of today s world where the act of buying is becoming the solution to everything. As the rapper says, an object is nothing more than an object. Thus materialism is an inappropriate solution to emotional and social problems, which can result in psycological difficulties. However, Some people think that the materialism is part of human nature itself so it could really makes them happier, cooler and more fulfilled. For exemple, they think that it is natural to believe they would live better with the Bell Fiber TV because it have the best HD picture quality and a lot of features, like the play back fonction or the access to Facebook or even twitter. • 13. What Is Formative And Summative Assessment Introduction Assessment can be the engine of curriculum reform, or the principal impediment to its implementation (Mary Barnes, 2000) is a thought which is of great debate in the Republic of Ireland today. Education and curriculum are constantly evolving and often assessment gets left behind. The relationship between student learning and an effective curriculum lies in the power of the assessment. One cannot thrive without the other, and one cannot be entirely effective unless the other is equally as effective. In this assignment I will explore the types of assessment, particularly formative and summative assessment which are used worldwide in the classroom. As well as the history of assessment in Ireland, the newest junior cycle programme and finally ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Research has shown that formative assessment is effective in all educational settings (Paul Black, 1998).One major difference between formative assessment and summative assessment is the way in which formative assessment uses student involvement as an integral pillar. Without student involvement in the assessment process, formative assessment is not reaching its full potential. Many research papers have shown that student motivation is dramatically increased when students are involved in both their own learning and in the learning of others (Pintrich de Groot, 1990).Teachers, however, do not have a sit back role in formative assessment. They are still crucial to the proper use of this assessment by ways of designing appropriate assessment tasks, identifying attainable learning goals and outlining clear criteria for student success. One key factor in formative assessment is the return of feedback to students. Many studies have shown that substantial learning gains are the outcome of an effective and frequent feedback process from teacher to student (Wiliam, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In the last two decades San Diego County has faced some of the most destructive firestorms in state history (Brainard, 2007). Ron Roberts, chairman of the San Diego County Board of Supervisors, describes the county s disposition as, We have a very dangerous, unpredictable situation. We have some of the highest temperatures, some of the driest landscape conditions, and some of the most powerful winds all ingredients for a perfect firestorm (Pesce, 2007). In 2003, San Diego County was overwhelmed by firestorms, including the Cedar Fire, and at that time it was the worst in state history. However, in 2007 San Diego was once again devastated by firestorms, but this time more mighty than the preceding (Ekard, Tuck, Jr., Steffen, 2003). San Diego has had its fair share of practice at managing firestorm response actions. The 2003 firestorms proved that there were numerous inefficiencies within the county s emergency response plan, while the 2007 firestorms emergency response revealed the lessons learned from 2003 and improvements implemented were effective. The threat of future firestorms in San Diego County are inevitable due to the continuing drought, Santa Anna winds, climate changes, and human behavior (Pesce, 2007). However, with the downfall of humanity stemming from Original Sin, the Fallen spiraled its effects on mankind that carries forth today. As a result, many catastrophic events have been recorded in the Bible, which are known as historical facts to Christians. Because God is a loving and merciful God, He established the Noahic Covenant, Abrahamic Covenant, Mosaic Covenant, Davidic Covenant, and the New Covenant that all relate and expand with each other and provides hope for Jews and Christians in the past, today, and future. After God washed the earth of evil by flood (Genesis 5:32 10:1), He created the Noahic Covenant between Noah and his descendants. With accurate clarification to the Noahic Covenant, God makes an unconditional promise to Noah and all descendants that He will never flood the earth again and seals His vow with a rainbow across the clouds. Based on the unconditional promise made, God had no expectations of Noah and his descendants (Genesis 9). Why did God feel the need to generate a bond with Noah and his descendants? His compassion and mercy glorifies through His works and vows. Busenitz highlights God s forgiveness stating, In the Noahic Covenant, God showed His gracious mercy toward all mankind, both redeemed and unredeemed, causing it to rain on the just and the unjust and assuring the ongoing, uninterrupted cycle of seasons (Busenitz, page 10, 1999). • 27. The Cardiovascular System Of The Heart And The Vasculature The cardiovascular system is formed by the heart and the vasculature, a close system of vessels, which include arteries, arterioles, capillaries, venules, veins and lymph vessels. The heart is located in the mediastinum, about two thirds from the body midline. Three layers form the heart. From the inside out: endocardium, myocardium and epicardium. The myocardium, the thickest of all, is formed by striated muscle to provide the heart with the contractibility necessary to pump the blood into the vasculature. (Martini, Nath, Bartholomew, 2008) The myocardium contains the pacemaker cells that generate electrical impulses to create the heart s movements. These impulses are triggered by action potentials in the pacemaker cells of the Sinoatrial Node. These are then transmitted to the atria and to the AV node. (Hull Slegg, 2009) The heart is divided into four chambers; the superior chambers (atria) receive blood and are connected to the inferior chambers (ventricle), through the atrioventricular valves. Once in the ventricles, blood is ejected to the vasculature through the semilunar valves. These valves, similar to the ones in the veins, ensure the unidirectionality of blood flow. As with the heart, endothelium provides the internal layer (tunica intima) for all the vasculature. Apart from the capillaries and venules, which only consist of endothelium, the rest of the vasculature is formed by three layers: tunica intima, tunica media, and tunica adventitia. (Marieb ... Of all his senses, it seemed that his olfactory sense had not been affected because he was stricken by the strong odor of kerosene or fuel of some kind. He wondered if perhaps a truck hauling kerosene or gasoline had accidentally exploded outside, after all there had been recent construction on that part of the Pentagon. His vision slowly returned, yet he was unable to hear anything. He started to look around only to be surprised by fires, smoke and mangled bodies and that overwhelming smell of kerosene. He called out for Major Perkins, but could not hear himself scream. Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, he struggled to get to his feet only to see the limp body of Major Adriana Perkins hunched over some rubble no more than 30 feet away. As he tried to get up and walk toward her, he got a sharp pain to his lower back which made it difficult and painful for General Powell to move his legs. A lot of time and face to face contact was devoted to the profit plan and, once approved, it was the guiding tool to monitor and evaluate performance. During the summer months, each region generated a profit statement every two weeks that Jacques reviewed to detect major problems. In addition, Jacques spent a week in each region to get a feel for the market. At the end of October, another top management meeting occurred to learn from the year s experience and schedule winter activities to prepare for the next season. In early December, Jacques handed bonus checks to the three regional managers. Cyrus had set himself apart from other rulers by compromising with his empire rather than forcing his entire will on them. He accomplished this by allowing people that had been moved from their homeland to return, most notably allowing the Jews to return to Jerusalem after Nebuchadnezzar had them exiled and held captive in Babylon.⁴ On top of them returning, Cyrus also encouraged them to rebuild their temple, which was also one of his finer qualities. Myoblast Lab Report One of the major things that we studied in the lab was using myoblast, which is also a muscle precursor who can differentiate with the proper signal which helps with differentiated cells. Myosin light chain was a major role when they came with muscle contraction within the culture cells that were placed in the differentiation media. My partner and I did this experiment by following the protocol which helped us properly assess the myosin light chain. Some of the procedures included harvesting and culturing the cells as well as extracting the cells and using SDS page and for analysis, we used Western blot. Based on what we observed during this experiment, we noticed that the myosin light chain could be found in both the growth media and differentiation. In the other samples, there was no myosin light chain. This shows that myosin light chain can detect the differentiated cells. We noticed that the myosin light chain was around 25 kDa molecular weight marker. Introduction We used the differentiated cells C2C12 myoblast to help us determine the difference in the muscle cells. High school can be an amazing time for people, just as easily as it could be a terrible time for people. It s quite odd how everyone goes to the same school, and mostly attend the same courses, yet they are significantly different from one another. Every school has the classic jocks, nerds, partiers/stoners, etc., but it appears our generation has created several new stereotypes. With students spending approximately 35 hours a week at school, it is easy for one another to label each other, and determine who they fit in with. The most common stereotype in Spring Lake is the Preppy Rich Kid. The Preppy part of these kids is that they love to wear a perfectly matching outfit; including their colorful Polo Shirts/t shirts, colorful short shorts, matching socks, with a matching pair of boat shoes/skate shoes. The Rich part of these kids is that they live in a big house on the water, their parents have high paying jobs, and their parents will buy them whatever they desire. These kids typically drive an expensive foreign car, usually blaring rap music out of their car s subwoofer everyday to school. Once they have arrived at school, most of them have a very enjoyable day. For the most part, they have a perfect life, including getting all the girls/boys, receiving good grades, being attractive, and being a phenomenal athlete. These kids are likable people, and ... • 42. The Voice of Reason in Tartuffe by Jean-Baptiste Poquelin... Jean Baptiste Poquelin Moliere wrote Tartuffe during the beginning of the Age of Enlightenment. One of the main characteristics of the Age of Enlightenment was a push towards using reason over emotions to make decisions. The leaders of the enlightenment truly believed that the world could be made a better place if people did this. In Tartuffe, when the characters use their emotions to make their decisions they find themselves in undesirable situations. While those who let their emotions rule them find their lives spinning out of control, there are other characters in the play who try to approach them with reason and logic. I m far less awed;/ In fact, I see right through him. He s a fraud. (I.1.69 70) Dorine s blunt words carry more weight than the other characters in this scene for several reasons. Dorine represents the average person more than anyone else in the play. She is not highly educated like Cleante and she did not have the upbringing that the other characters did. For someone in her position, a lady s maid, to see the truth so clearly, it exaggerates the absurdity that Orgon and Madame Pernelle do not. In Dramatic Justice in Tartuffe, Myrna Kogan Zwillenberg wrote, To be sure, Molière has taken the precaution of signaling such incidents by having the servant Dorine express her exaggerated moral outrage, a significant device which pinpoints the areas meant to be ridiculous. (Myrna Kogan Zwillenberg 1) It seems that Moliere was more than likely making a statement with Dorine s character, that anyone can use their common sense. It does not take a college education or fine upbringing to see through the mask that some people present themselves with. Dorine was his way of encouraging others to see what lies are right in front of their face. The play was very controversial for the time it was written in, and in fact had to be rewritten in order for it to be performed. Moliere also had to petition for permission for Tartuffe to be performed. There are several political views hidden in the lines. Dorine speaks out against ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Using this fact, it can be seen that the following changes shift the labor demand curve: The output price. When output price rises, the labor demand curve shifts to the right { more labor is demanded at each wage. When output price falls, less labor is demanded at each wage. Technological change causes the MPL function to change, generally to in crease at each level of L. This shifts the labor demand curve to the right. In the 1980s many Palestinians commuted from their homes in West Bank or Gaza strip to work in Israel (often in construction, agriculture). In 1988, due to Intifada, Israel imposed curfews, checked work permits more thoroughly, ban of Palestinians staying overnight in Israel enforced. Three years later in 1866 he and his family had moved to Moscow with a professorship of harmony at a new conservatory. Even by this time very little of his music had pleased the conservative musical establishment or the more nationalist group. It was not until 1868 when his 1st Symphony had a good public reception when heard in Moscow. Not even a year later Tchaikovsky wrote his first opera the Voyevada. He later used this piece in his next opera the Oprichnik, which won some success at St. Petersburg in 1874. It was then that a critic named Balakirev requested that he write a work on Romeo and Juliet, which would later be known as the Fantasy Overture. This specific work was rewritten many times until it met the requirements of Balakirev. This romantic piece is a symphony where each theme stood for a character in the drama. It is these expressive themes that make his first works well defined. The symphony Romeo and Juliet is a love song in sonata form. Before Caesar came back, Caesar told his friend to go to Rome and ask the people what they wanted in the film.
