Emily Dickinson was fascinated by death and immortality; in her poem I Heard a Fly Buzz When
I Died she reveals her insight on a shared but unknown experience. A speaker, who is describing

One of the most important dances in the entire show is If You Could See Her . Sung by the
Emcee, If You Could See Her is the last comedic scene of the show, mainly because the Emcee s
partner is a Gorilla. I had the honor of both choreographing this dance and playing the Gorilla in
the show. I made the decision while choregraphing to play off the initial humor of the Gorilla,
