Software Projects And Risk Exposure Among Student Software...
development. In a company, there are many factors beyond pure coding affecting the whole project
development process. Unstable organization environment, corporate politics with negative effect on
the project, or change in organizational management during the project etc. in a company will all have
impacts on the project. However, for students developers, these issues are not within the consideration
most of the times.
The realization of huge differences on potential risks between students software projects and industrial
software projects drives us to analyze risks among student population more closely and independently
from existing work. To gain more insight into the risk exposure among student software project
developers, especially under the following two different scenarios which are two common forms of
practice for student groups: developing the software project by an individual or by a small team (3 or
4 people in a team). Studying the relationship between individual/team based software projects and
risk exposure among student groups is quite useful and interesting. As far as we can see, it is the first
time to conduct risk analysis only based on student groups and it is hoped that we could give student
developers more guidance on risk management policies, which corresponding risks analysis is based
on student groups but not professional fields, thus lessening software project risks and improving
projects performance.

PROACTIVE Mnemonic Analysis
Throughout the course of Health Information 371, we have looked at various tools that are used or
could be used in the field to help design, build, and implement systems. These tools explored concepts
that were mostly related to the medical standpoint on how to diagnose patient s through decision
making techniques. This helps the health professional make an accurate diagnosis based off of
evidence and not speculation. Within the Health Information field, as informatics specialists we need
to consider all of these techniques when designing the systems, creating policies, and updating the
servers. Having knowledge on these tools will assist us when creating technologies, which will give
health professionals all the necessary techniques to give the patient the best possible care available.
Four tools that I believe will have a significant potential to affect my approach while practicing ...

PROACTIVE
PROACTIVE is a mnemonic that helps health professionals come up with the best possible treatment
plan by looking at the problem from different points of view. The PROACTIVE mnemonic is split up
into three sections: defining the problem, determining the alternatives, consequences, and trade offs,
and integration and exploration. In the first section (PRO), it looks at defining the problem, reframing
the question, and focusing on the objective. This allows health professionals to look at the problem as
broadly as possible to ensure that they have considered all of the possible consequences and who will
be affected by the problem before deciding on an objective. Once the objective is set you can look at

Lord Of The Flies Summary
In the middle of a war, a plane that is evacuating a group of schoolboys from Britain is shot down.
Two boys, Ralph and Piggy, discover a shell on the beach. Piggy realized it could be used as a horn.
After they used the horn to gather the other boys, they set about selecting a leader. They choose Ralph
and Ralph chooses Jack to be in charge of the boys who will hunt food for everyone. Ralph, Simon,
and Jack set off to explore the island. After they return Ralph says they must light some sort of fire
signal to attract attention of passing ships. They successfully ignite some dead wood. The boys pay
more attention to playing instead of monitoring the fire. The first soon ignite the forest. One of the

A Separate Peace Competitive Analysis
The Role of Competition Phineas was a born athlete. Gene on the other hand was the exact opposite.
His athletic ability was close to none. The role of competition plays a large part of the storyline in this
novel, A Separate Peace. In a sense, it s what made the connection between Phineas and Gene so
strong. It also played a part in wedging a gap between Phineas and Gene. The author made it feel as
though Gene was the one that competed so fully in the pair s relationship when Finny was supposed to
be the one with the competitive nature. In the beginning of the novel, before Finny s accident, Gene
felt like Finny was taking advantage of him and making him take time away from his studies to do
pointless things. He felt this way because ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Finny was not the smartest kid. Most friendships are built off of and work because of differences.
Gene and Finny were different. Yes, they both went to Devon, they were roommates, and they got

and worked hard for his knowledge and understanding. For Finny however, he made everything he did
seem effortless. That was very frustrating to Gene. Finny knew that Gene drove himself to excel the
best of his abilities in school, it took a lot of hard work. I think we reminded them of what peace was

The Importance Of Science
Science is an aspect of life and something which is identifiable in every student s lives as it is
continuously extended, refined and revised. In the text, Taking Science to School, there are five points
identifying why science should be taught science. The five reasons include 1. Science is a significant
part of human culture and represents the human thinking capacity, 2. It provides common experience
for development of language, logic, and problem solving skills to be used in the classroom, 3. A
demand for students to make it personal and community decisions about issues in which scientific
information plays a key role, 4. It will become a lifelong vocation, 5. The nation is reliant on the
technical and scientific abilities for citizens due to economic competitiveness and national needs
(Duschl et al, 2007, Page 34). The science curriculum should be focused and designed for students to
be able to understand and grasp the knowledge of the basic skills, which in turn will lead learning
efforts. Three dimensional learning is not only highlighting the facts of the content of science, but also
the doing of science (Willson et al, 2015, pg. 28). According to Seeing Students Learn Science (Beatty
et al, 2017) which include 1). practices through which scientist and engineers do their work; 2). the
crosscutting concepts that apply across science disciplines; and 3). the core ideas of the disciplines
(page 6). Scientific practices are focused towards asking questions, analyzing,

Milton was looked on by many feminists, of or relating to or advocating equal rights for women,

Animals in captivity. It has been an issue since the first zoo was opened. Many people are for and

Jean Watson Atheism Analysis
The purpose of the article is to persuade the readers that atheism can be considered as a source of
morality and spirituality. Since the Nation Framework of Religious Education (RE) has approved to
include atheism in the curriculum of primary and secondary school levels, Watson argues that children
and young people can learn from atheistic beliefs and values for their spiritual and moral
development. Watson begins her (article) with refuting religious objections of the Association of
Christian Teachers (ACT) in introducing atheism to the curriculum of RE. One of the main objections
of ACT was the threat atheism can impose on religion. On the other hand, Watson points out that the
ACT would not feel threatened or worried, if they were confident ... Show more content on

She goes on to say that both the theist and atheist take a leap of faith, explaining that it takes as much
faith for a non believer to believe that there is no God at all, as a believer who believes in God. With
that being stated, Watson further opposes Rowan Williams statement against atheism wherein he
claims that atheism only exists to contradict and challenge the whole of theism ( atheism of
negotiation ). Watson explains that atheism is not merely of the opposite extreme of theism. Atheism
as well, has its source for spiritual and moral development (atheism of hope). It acquires its own
atheistic belief system, consisting of the fundamentals the Enlightenment, Rationalism, Communism,
Existentialism and Humanism. Furthermore, Watson mentions the writings of Jean Paul Sartre and
again Russell, in explaining that man sets out in life on his own, without being dictated by a being or
force beyond him and his capacity. This, however, comes with a moral responsibility and inevitable
consequences, in that as put by Watson atheist must accept personal responsibility...to work out the
good life in a God free world. Russel also explains that in order to instill morality, one has to acquire
intelligence, self control and

Variola rex smallpox
Variola rex (Smallpox)
Smallpox is a virus that was first founded in ancient times. The virus?s proper name is Variola rex, and
it has various different forms as well as various symptoms. Among these forms are typical smallpox,
hemorrhagic smallpox, and malignant smallpox, all of which usually always cause death in their
victims. Some of the typical symptoms of smallpox include red vesicles and pustules all over,
bleeding from all orifices of the body, swelling in the face, throat, and eyes, difficulty eating and
swallowing, delirium, malaise, deterioration of the bone marrow, lymph nodes and mucus membranes
of the body, and a multitude of other secondary symptoms. Smallpox is typically diagnosed by ruling

In the introductory stages of the rash the small bumps are filled with a clear fluid and are known as
vesicles, but as the virus progresses the vesicles become hard and scab over. The fluid inside the
vesicles turns into puss and the large bumps then become known as pustules. The rash becomes fully
developed between 12 and 14 days after the symptoms of the disease appear. As the disease follows its
course, symptoms become more and more severe and uncomfortable for the patient. Red spots on the
patient begin to turn black, while others turn white, the individual experiences strong delirium,
hemorrhages of blood at the anus, mouth, and nose, raw flesh from the stripping of the skin, and
fistulous ulcers in the ligaments, body, limbs, and joints. Smallpox is also associated with the
unbelievable amount of swelling and protuberance in the throat and eyes, which obstruct vision as
well as the ability to swallow and perform similar functions. The virus also causes the rotting of the
ligaments and bones.
Because the smallpox virus attacks the mucus membranes, bone marrow, and lymph nodes of the
body, most patients obtain the gruesome disfigurement of the face and nose and limbs.( Bollet
1987). The previous stage of the smallpox infection is known as the second stage, which is most
commonly and not surprisingly a phase at which most individuals do not survive. Those that do

Mary Church Terrell Speech
What It Means to Be Colored in the Capital of the United States is a speech that was delivered to a
woman s club in 1906. The speech, delivered in Washington D.C, addressed prejudice and humiliation
the African Americans encounter in the capital city. The speeches author Mary Church Terrell was
born in 1863. Her parents were slaves, but she was born the year of the emancipation of proclamation
therefore she never was a slave herself. After getting married she was forced to give up her job as a
school teacher due to laws that prevented married women from being teachers. Mary would later on

segregation in the restaurants of Washington. Mary s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

seeing equality in their cities and Mary wanted to make it known that Washington D.C. was one of
those cities. The source fails to address at all the alternatives the colored people were forced to settle

The Sliced-Crosswise Only Tuesday World Summary
A. Eternium Cylinders, or stoners as the characters in The Sliced Crosswise Only on Tuesday World
call them, are essentially pods in which people will hibernate until their next day arrives. Eternium
cylinders could be scientifically based on cryonics, in which a person s body will be frozen and their
bodily functions will pause until they are taken out of the chamber. This is significant in The Sliced
Crosswise Only on Tuesday World by Philip Jose Farmer because the world has become
overpopulated and the only way to reduce the stress is to have groups of people live only one day a
week. B. A glittering metallic framework, scarcely larger than a small clock, and very delicately made.
This is an excerpt from H.G. Wells The Time Machine in which the time traveler is displaying a small
replica of his time travel device to his friends. This small model has the same capabilities as its full
size counterpart, as was demonstrated in the novel as the model launched into the future (or the past).
This model is scientifically based in the theory of time travel and how our perception of time could be
altered. This model time machine is significant to the story because the time traveler uses it in an
attempt to convince his friends that he himself is going to be the first person to travel into the future.

Effects Of Ww2 On Western European Economy
World War II had devastating effects all across Europe. There were an immense number of casualties
resulting from the war, which deeply affected Europe s economy. Central and Eastern Europe, suffered
a severe shortage of men after the war, and at one point the number of women surpassed the number
of men by 20 million (Judt, Postwar, p.19). Western European states were short of labor and welcomed
stateless people to begin economic and material reconstruction. Civilians homes all across Europe
were destroyed, farms were no longer farmable, railroad tracks and bridges were blown up, and
communications were severely disrupted (Judt, Postwar, p.21). Following the end of World War II in

German reparations on a large scale also came to an end in 1948, largely thanks to the pleas of

Poland and Czechoslovakia there had never been any official acknowledgment of reparations, and so

The MGA Chamber Singers Performance: Critical Analysis

Religious And Spiritual Aspects Of Human Service Practice
In this paper, I will be writing about spirituality and religion. I will be referring to the textbook called,
Religious and Spiritual Aspects of Human Service Practice written by James W. Ellor, F. Ellen
Netting, and Jane M. Thibault (1999). This paper will include comparing and contrasting concepts of
spirituality and religion, summarizing the influence of religious groups in human service development,
and influence of religion on the historical development of clinical practice. Additionally, I will discuss
the relationship between public policy and religion in the United States. To conclude, I will reflect on
the implications of being a helping services professional. Even before recorded time, human beings
have naturally sought a connection with one in which is greater than they are. This includes the desire
to have a source of meaning. Prior to the Second World War, these connection needs were often met
with various religious traditions. Around 1960 there was a change in United States with people who
moved towards a more personal and spiritual expression of these connection needs. Regardless of
having religious traditions or a spiritual expression they are both part of the culture and human
experience for people. Since around the 1940s observers have revealed a smaller percentage of adults
in attendance at church. However, studies have reported that the need for spiritual experiences is
increasing (Ellor, Netting, and Thibault, 1999, pp. 1 3). Ellor et al. define

stages has different behaviors and interest. Based on my observation of children in the middle
childhood stage, I have seen them think more differently and logically than early childhood stage. In

Stereotypes In Minority Report
Minority Report is an oddly misplaced mystery/action movie about a cop who is accused of a future
murder. Set in early 21st century Washington, DC, the police have the ability to stop murders before
they happen with the help of three psychics. They use technology to enhance the visions of these
psychics, referred to as pre cognitives (or pre cogs ) to generate not only the name of the victim and
perpetrator, but also the evidence against them: hence the crime of murder is reduced to a black and
white picture. Anytime the Pre cogs visions are in conflict a Minority Report is generated, yet it is also
destroyed except for what the pre cog who predicted it remembers deep within their mind.
John Anderton is the Chief of Police of PreCrime, a department of the police that deals with murder
and uses pre cogs. His son was kidnapped, driving him to PreCrime, and preventing further loss of
innocent life. His faith in the system is rooted his loss, and up to his accusation, unfaltering. His faith
begins to falter when he discovers that there is missing data regarding some of the victims and
perpetrators. This leads him to question the system, which eventually leads those in charge to arrange
for his arrest for the future murder of Jim Crow. Convinced of ... Show more content on

Racial Disparity In Sentencing Essay
A rising controversy surrounding our justice system is whether or not racial disparity exists when
sentencing. Early studies concluded that racial disparity in sentencing was a result of discrimination
(Spohn, Gruhl Welch, 1981). For decades, these disparities in sentencing have led to considerable
empirical research, and helped to shape major policy changes (Starr Rehali, 2013). In this paper,
existing research focused on whether there are sentencing disparities between Caucasians and
minorities will be presented. This paper will also examine whether there is evidence of a biased justice
system or are minorities simply just more involved in crime. Within the United States, there are
significant racial disparities in sentencing (Turner ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In 2010, President Barack Obama signed a Fair Sentencing Act with the objective to reduce disparity
when it came to sentencing for crimes including powder and crack cocaine. Several have the belief
that the Fair Sentencing Act will confront the issue of racial disparities in sentencing for crimes
involving drugs (Carlsen, 2010). Minorities are more likely to be in possession of and convicted for
crack cocaine drug crimes. Whereas Caucasians are more likely to be in possession of and convicted
for powder cocaine drug crimes. Prior to the Fair Sentencing Act, one in possession of five grams of
crack cocaine received equal punishment with one in possession of 500 grams of powder cocaine
(Carlsen, 2010). This contrasting disparity can impact the way individuals view the system of justice
allowing them to question whether the U.S. justice system is biased. Through the U.S. justice system,
bias can be presented in various forms. During the pretrial detention stage, blacks were 10 percent
more likely and Latinos three percent more likely to be detained than white defendants. During the
plea bargaining stage if a sentence is awarded, minorities are more likely to be offered deals that
include prison time (74 percent) and very rarely are they offered deals of community service, fine or
time served. Whereas Caucasians have a lower rate of jail/prison time (50

student s school work and everyday tasks. As they grow older, the effects in learning vary for each
individual, especially in their adult years. Some adult jobs involve technology which affects adults in
their learning especially if they grew up without it. Living in the 21st century, there are pros and cons
of how technology can help you or someone not only learn, but also use it for literary reasons.
According to our survey, 95.2% individuals grew up with television in which helped them have a basis
on learning such as Dora the Explorer, Blue s Clues, and Sesame Street. Kids basically learned colors,
alphabets, and numbers in a fun way watching their favorite characters on screen. Also in our first
source, a man named K. Ciampa did a study to prove the fact that developing comprehension skills,
vocabulary, and complex thinking is an essential starting factor for elementary kids. Teachers are then
challenged to find ways to encourage their students to not only continue reading but to become
stronger readers. He states that incorporating reading within technology engages the students more
and affects their progress in their reading (Ciampa). Nowadays, teachers are using and

Essay on The Mayor of Casterbridge by Thomas Hardy
quot;The Mayor of Casterbridge quot;
In The Mayor of Casterbridge by Thomas Hardy, a person s future lies in the hands of his or her past
actions. The intelligent or ignorant decision that they make places an immediate or long term effect on
the rest of person s life. Michael Henchard, whose interactions with the people of Casterbridge lead to
his demise, is only one of the people who decide their own destiny through their actions. The
decisions that the residents of Casterbridge make affect the rest of their lives. The good and evil
characteristics which society possesses determine their fate.

As the good brings success, the evil characteristics of mankind insure a life of unhappiness and

Harry Houdini s Life
The Magic Life A fundamental understanding of the human psyche is the essential key to successful
magic. This is the quote that inspired Erich Weiss the world s greatest escape artist. Harry Houdini

Analysis Of William Ernest Henley s Invictus
Can an individual s experience of and response to discovery catalyse their metamorphosis?
Discoveries can reaffirm, transform and challenge preconceptions and assumptions about human
nature, bringing about renewed perceptions that affect individuals and society. Through various poetic
techniques, William Ernest Henley s Invictus explores the three dimensional nature of discovery,
accentuating a successive revelatory self discovery as the persona overcomes seemingly
insurmountable adversities. We see the persona s internal transformation being reflective of Henley s
early contraction of tuberculosis, necessitating a leg amputation when he was 25. Trialling a
revolutionary antiseptic saved Henley s other leg from amputation. Today, I will be speaking about the
spiritual and emotional unearthing of inner strength, resilience and empowerment manifested in the
lyrical quatrains of Invictus , amplifying discoveries as being intensely meaningful and
transformative.
An unexpectedly adverse environment can stimulate the evolution of an individual s perspective,
precipitating an emotional paradigm shift. The hyperbolic simile and infernal allusion with Black as
the Pit from pole to pole illustrates the magnitude of the persona s indefinite suffering, foreshadowing
death and a bleak perspective on life with a melancholic atmosphere. We see the personification in
night that covers me , where night is metaphorical for the persona s suffering, demonstrate the
arduousness in surmounting unpredictable challenges, reinforcing the persona s misfortune and its
ramifications are perpetual. However, the plosive consonants with the alliterated b , emphasising the
bludgeoning, and metaphor in Under the bludgeonings of chance/My head is bloody, but unbowed
conveys you, me and the persona as prisoners of probability being bombarded with challenges,
highlighting the capricious difficulties and detriments affecting the individual. Moreover, the visual
imagery and caesura in My head is bloody, but unbowed suggests the physically scarred persona will
not submissively bow defeated, but will endure the bludgeoning, accentuating the persona s emerging
inner strength. It is clear to us the arousal of inner strength contrasts

Lord Of The Flies
Day One We are stranded on an island, or at least I am pretty sure it is an island. Ralph was the first
person I found after awakening on the beach. We found a conch shell and used it to summon all the
other boys from the plane. The boys and I voted for Ralph to be our chief. We chose Jack Merridew
and his choir to be the hunters. I am very upset with Ralph, he told all the boys that my name was

been the subject of jokes, and I have learned to live with it. I already do not like Jack Merridew, and I

Napster amp; MP3: Redefining The Music Industry
Introduction
Napster was the first, very innovative music technology application that allowed users to download
MP3 from the internet and other peers for free, or at a cost. Napster strongly adapted the word sharing
and put it their own terms to avoid any copyright infringement but it ended badly on their part. This
disruptive technology was leading the market and had over 60 million users by 2001. Although very
similar technologies were soon after developed, Napster was still on top and lead the market. Many
users knew exactly what they wanted but getting it seemed to be the difficult part once Napster and the

In terms of the artists and musicians, I believe that although they started out as losers, in the end, they
ended up winning because for already discovered, well known singers, they are getting the royalties
they are owed and for new, up and coming artists, they are getting their name out there in a much less
expensive way than before and still making some sort of money to support their dream. The agents
and label companies will become winners as well through the transformations. The larger companies
will most likely lose some strength and then gain back once they begin to find new artists and those
artists begin to take off. The risk/reward of the digital market here will yield much more reward and
their financial strength from the start will help them be a winner here. I feel the biggest loser in
throughout the entire industry transformation is the packaging and CD production industry. Because
CDs are no longer at an all time high, they will no longer be needed. There is very little need for this
and it has almost become a niche market, barely used for music anymore, unless someone is burning
their own music onto a CD. Albums being created and sold solely onto a CD has decreased
substantially and within the next few years could become something in the past. This is the biggest
loser by far through the music industry transformation. Although customers might think they are

What Is The Backpculation Of Forward Propagation And...
A. Forward Propagation and Backpropagation In case of forward propagation each node has the same
classifier and none of them are fired randomly. Also repeating the input provides the same output. The
question that arises at this point is if every node in the hidden layer receives same input, why dont all
of them produce the same output? The reason is each set of input is modified by unique weights and
biases [6]. Each edge has a specific weight and each node has a unique bias. Thus the combination of
each activation is also unique and hence the nodes fire differently.Prediction of neural net depends on
weight and bias.As prediction should be high it s desired that the prediction value should be as close to

on the seventh tenths of a mile long hill, I felt relieved that I was finally able to run on a lower grade

How Did The Gold Rush Shape Australian History
Zeesha Shirin Bandyopadhyay
US history.
13. Sept. 2014
Mr. Patton.
How did the Gold Rush shape Australian history?
The Australian gold rush began in May 1851, when Edward Hargraves claimed that he had discovered
gold near Bathurst. After the Australians had heard this news, most of them packed up their
belongings and left to go to Bathurst and mine for gold, hoping to get rich and wealthy.
When the Australian Gold Rush began, many immigrates came to Australia, all of whom contributed
their own cultural influences. This was the start of multiculturalism. The Chinese came and mostly all
of them stayed in Australia and built businesses in the towns, once the main gold deposits were mined
out.
There was a huge increase in the population. In 1851, Australia s population was 437,655. By the end
of the gold rush, 1861, Australia s population was doubled. But sadly after the gold rush, many of the

perspectives. Making this a difficult topic for them to come to solution on. Where both sides make
good valid points for why chirldren should or should not limit the time they spend in front of screens.
I thnk a lot of it has to do with what these children are watching and exactly just how long are they
watching for. Spending to much time in front of screens can have negative affects on a child. To much
screen time can take a physical and mental toll on chirldren. Lights from these screens can confuse
chirldren s body clocks and disrupt sleep. To much screen time can also fractue viewers attention and
sap mental energy. Depression and obesity have aslo been linked to to much screen viewing. Time in
fornt of screens can also be a good thing. When parents watch televison or play video games with their

Questions On Non Financial Firms
1. Introduction
The 2007 2008 crisis started off in August 2007 as a subprime mortgage crisis primarily concentrated
in the United States but quickly metamorphosized into a global financial crisis where financial
institutions teeter on the edge of bankruptcy in many countries in addition to the United States. A
global economic crisis ensues in which nonfinancial firms around the world appear to spiral
downward as well. A key potential contributor to the plight of the non financial firms is the financial
crisis itself, in the form of a negative shock to the supply of external finance needed by non financial
firms. However, as the two quotes by some leading policymakers and scholars at the beginning of the
paper indicate, the idea that non financial firms suffer from a strongly negative supply of finance
shock is not universally shared. In addition, if non financial firms do not do well, there can certainly
be other causes, such as a contraction of demand for their products.
This paper has three objectives. First, it aims to develop a simple framework that can capture and
quantify the relative importance of the finance shock to the economic health of non financial firms.
Second, in a cross country context, it aims to investigate whether the responsiveness of the real
economy to a given finance shock varies by country features that the literature suggests that could
matter, such as the type of a financial system, the nature of a monetary and exchange rate regime, or
the extent

Nowadays, it s very common to find young girls and teens paying attention to the models appearance

Why Mascots Should Change Their Name
The Redskins Should Change Their Name When one typically thinks about a Native American, they
picture this ideological representation of a Native American as depicted by popular culture. Native
Americans are underrepresented on television, in books, in news, and all other forms of media. We, as
a society, have chosen a path of ignorance in which we have chosen not to educate ourselves or our
future generations on the true culture of Native Americans. We have ignored the negative impacts of
using mascots such as Redskins and instead let it serve as a stereotype to fill our heads with unrealistic
views and understandings of Native American culture. The resulting misconceptions leave many
Native American students with a feeling of inferiority and questioning their self worth. The lack of
accurate representation of Native Americans in our everyday lives has left members of society without
more than a stereotype to draw from when thinking about characteristics of Native Americans. Native
Americans have relative invisibility in mainstream media and this lets the few inaccurate portrayals,
such as a sports team s mascot, have an overwhelming amount of power in forming stereotypes
(Fryberg, Markus, Oyserman, Stone, 2008, pg. 208). Many members of society have a very narrow
view of what they understand a Native American to look, dress, and act. These ideas mostly come
from what they see in media through the caricatures used as mascots, childhood cartoons, and similar

Ways and Means committee chair Kevin Brady, will be passed by Thanksgiving. It is being named the
Tax Cuts and Jobs Act which is a better name than the President Trump s proposal: Cut Cut Cut Act. .
While the tax cuts are across the board, this tax plan directly contradicts President Donald Trump s
statement that the rich won t benefit from his plan. He couldn t be more wrong. Under this new GOP

Destroying any hopes of potential gains. The TPC in their analysis also revealed that top 1% of
Americans will reap half of all rewards in 2018 under the proposed tax plan if it is passed. The tax
plan isn t just disproportional in the benefits it creates. It also, according to reports, proposes a fourth
marginal tax bracket affecting married couples making over $1 million a year. Other changes it
proposes is eliminating the state and local tax deduction. Complicating the issue even more and
leaving many to wonder, where is congress going to find the money to fill in the gap of the state and
local tax deduction? Congress nor the White House have an answer. But many economists predict that
workers and consumers will end up with the burden of paying it off.
Another important detail about the tax plan that will definitely not help is the new corporate tax rate
proposal. Under our current tax plan, corporations are expected to pay 35% in taxes. The real
percentage that they actually end up paying due to tax loopholes is 18%. That is a 17% difference.
Under the new tax plan the corporate tax rate is not being raised to account for the 17% difference. It
is however, being lowered from 35% to a permanent 20%. Many critics of this tax plan, and surely
many economists as well, are trying to articulate how much in taxes corporations will actually pay.

The Rise Of The Rest Barbara Ehrenreich Analysis
Barbara Ehrenreich is responding to the outsourcing of local news, writing to describe what is taking

people imagine that the world isn t really falling apart. Just because there are other countries only

people understand that Zakaria s facts could be arguable. To begin with, Barbara Ehrenreich, the
writer of Your Local News Dateline Delhi is about this lady explaining her personal insights about

series of turning points in the US about jobs being pushed out of the country and into others. She
explained how, yes, maybe other countries are getting larger to, but also that doesn t have to mean that
the US is getting smaller. Ehrenreich stated No, I don t resent the Indians for moving in on the kind of

others try out for it, but she believes that they shouldn t just go out for the first spot that is open, they
should try something that is more paying and maybe even more important. Fareed Zakaria, wants to

Similarities Between Underground And Notes From The...
As I read Notes from the underground by Fyodor Dostoyevsky and watched the film Rashomon
directed by Akira Kurosawa I noticed a few similarities and differences between the two. They were
similar because they both are frame narratives, the narrator is unreliable, there were parts in first
person or was written in first person and they both had analepsis. The main differences were the
themes. The themes were very different in both stories.
What is the theme in literature? A theme in literature is the main topic or topics of a story. As I read
through the required text and watch the film I chose egoism and individual versus society for Notes
from the Underground and multiplicity for Rashomon .
A frame narrative is basically a story within a story. In Notes from the Underground the whole story is
basically a bunch of stories that the narrator tells about his life. The narrator talks about his past and
this is where analepsis comes in which is a flashback to a different time. For example the narrator lets
us know at the beginning he is forty then later on he goes on to talk about what happens when he was
twenty four. The narrator also is unreliable because the story is told in an irrational way. The film
Rashomon also has a bunch of stories within the film. As each person tells their side, it s almost like
mini stories. And as with Notes from the Underground the stories go back as analepsis. They flashback
to the time when they happened to describe what actually happens. This film is described as an
unreliable narrative because each story that was told was different, which makes you wonder what
really happened.
When I finished watching Rashomon I immediately said the theme is multiplicity. Every person that
saw what happened had their own view of what happened. There was no story that was the exact say
as the other. But that there says people will do anything to make a story sound good. Each
interpretation of how everything went made someone look like someone else was to blame. There is a
saying there is more than one side of a story and this film proves that. The bandit that has a reputation
for killing and lust tied the samurai and kissed his wife. The woodcutter found the man s dead body of

Bend It Like Beckham Vs. The Notebook
Bend it Like Beckham and The Notebook are two relationship films that express passion, love and
struggle through the main characters. From a viewer s perspective both movies have a lot to offer
when it comes to being engaged. Though the two films are compelling in similar ways, like in
commitment, the films hold more differences than the you realize. For example, the culture and era of
the movies contrast, and will be further explained through the essay. Firstly, commitment in both films
are showed in a dynamic way. As we all know in romance films, it is about making a commitment to
the thing or person you love. In Bend it like Beckham, Jess shows her commitment for football and
her team by standing up to her parents and gathering up ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Both movies took place in completely different times. In Bend it Like Beckham, the movie took place
in modern time. Whereas, The Notebook setting was in the 1940s. The contrast is the way of thinking,
from the different eras. In Bend it Like Beckham, Jess and Jules are allowed to achieve their dreams
freely because of the society that they live in. The society in the movie has an understanding where,
Everyone should have a chance to take advantage of their talents to pursue their dreams, (King, 2011).
In The Notebook, Allie had to go to school to become a nurse, The stereotypical job for a women.
Allie worked as a nurse for majority of the movie. However, her true passion was to be a painter and
she did not fulfil that dream until the end of the movie. Which she couldn t have done without Noah, .
A quote from Allie in the movie, I love to paint. Most of the time I have all these thoughts bouncin
around in my head... but with a brush in my hand, the world just gets kinda quiet, (Character, n.d). The
society in this movie, are seemed to be stereotypical narrow minded people, that believed things are
supposed to be one way and nothing can change that. The eras of the movies contrasts the open
mindedness of these societies. Where the open mind allows an understanding that help Jess and Jules
reach their dream goal of playing football, and the closed mind shuns opportunities that could have
made Allie a lot happier throughout the

Characteristics Of Gun Shootings
When conducting an investigation for a homicide due to a handgun it is important that investigators
and firearms technicians have an understanding on how a handgun is manufactured, what is a bore,
rifling patterns and their purpose, and caliber. Class and individual characteristics are present in
handguns, projectiles and shell casings. Every handgun contains general rifling characteristics based
on the number and width of grooves, as well as the direction of grooves. After a handgun is fired it can
present with penetrating and perforating gunshot wounds, which have specific entry and exit
characteristics. The muzzle to distance characteristics vary depending on how close or distant the
shooter was from the victim or surface. Finally, at a crime scene an investigator must gather evidence
at a death scene. When a handgun is used the investigator should document class characteristics of a
firearm, bullet or shell casing. Also, the handgun or ammunition should be dusted for fingerprint and
DNA evidence.
Early handguns of the 14th century were made of a bronze tube or wrought iron, packed with gun
powder and a projectile then ignited through a touch hole. These early guns were wildly inaccurate
and often failed. By 1835, Samuel Colt patented the first revolving cylinder and chamber handgun,
which was later mass produced as a weapon of choice by military personnel. The automatic pistol
arrived in the late twentieth century. Today, modern firearms come in a variety of

Body Image in the Media Essay
Body image today is so drastically exaggerated in importance that people, often adolescents, go to the
extremes of trying to be perfect. The media is what I believe makes body image such an important
issue these days. It makes people want to change everything about themselves, their look, their
choices, and their personality. The media are the ones also bringing this on to adolescents because of
all the places they advertise. The adults are also people that I would blame for the cases of young
children causing themselves to hurt for things they shouldn t be caring about. The indicative that
shows that my findings are correct are all the cases that are reported about adolescents and their body
image problems. Places that the media stress ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The internet is also making people believe differently about their bodies. It has things posted all the
time describing how a body should be, and with the millions of people who get on the internet
everyday seeing this causes them to believe think differently about their bodies. One thing that these
people who post blogs up don t tell you is that, the adolescents trying to act like these stars end up
getting pregnant or many other things. For instance, teenage girls these days try to be like other girls
on TV and this causes them to be sexually active, and with this occurring nearly 1 in 4 girls ages 14 to
19 acquire a sexually transmitted disease, as Time Magazine describes it. It also says that in African
American girls it s even more likely, 1 in 2 girls obtain a sexually transmitted disease. Sexually
transmitted diseases are also not the only thing that adolescents obtain. The other phenomenon that
occurs because of the media is that teenagers these days try to make their bodies perfect, just like the
bodies of the stars on TV. There are many different ways how they can try to make their bodies
perfect. As the website, MEDIAAWARENESS NETWORKS mentions it, fasting, skipping meals,
excessive exercise, laxative abuse, and self induced vomiting are all considered as unhealthy methods
of maintaining weight. Some of these methods are also under the name of Anorexia. Girls are mainly
the ones who turn

US Migration Essay
Migration, as said by Russell King, author of Atlas of Human Migration, is the history of the world.
U.S. migration is a highly discussed subject as nearly all of its population is connected to different
cultures and countries. Migration occurred as a result of push and pull factors circumstances that
prompted people to leave home and drew them to new societies (Concepts). People from all over the
world have mostly immigrated and migrated within the U.S. for a major reason economic necessity.
Domestic American population has moved across regions over the past three centuries due to this
shared economic need. This need was either a matter of their personal choice both abroad and within
the U.S., or the state s choice for someone to migrate. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Ireland was going through difficult political and economic turmoil in their home country that people
began to look for a way out desperately in order to survive. Many chose to move to the U.S. in search
of labor and to provide for their families, but their migration was seen as exile and banishment rather
than a quest of opportunity like other immigrants (Kenny 124). As the Irish began to settle in the U.S.,
they tended to go to cities as they were young and could find work in urban cities easier. However,
they noticed that the further west they went, the more success they had in looking for jobs. There was
a heavy demand for Irish unskilled labor as they provided cheap, expendable labor for the U.S. s
emerging industrial and urban infrastructure. Not only did the Irish begin to find work, but Irish
female immigrants began to work as domestics, filling 80 percent of positions in many cities. The
Irish were successful in finding work, but still faced discrimination due to their banished migration
and low wage jobs (Kenny 129). The Irish were not the only racial group to search for labor and be
discriminated against as more ethnicities would begin to arrive in the U.S. and receive harsher

January/1/2017
Daniel Hale Williams You may have heard of Rosa Parks or Martin Luther king Jr, but.have you ever
heard of Daniel Hale Williams? He helped take a stand in history like like many before him by going
against expectations of the time. Daniel Hale Williams was a forerunner to the civil rights movement
by going to school and getting a education, opening an interracial hospital, and performing the first
successful heart surgery. Daniel H. Williams took a stand by going to college to get a good education
in a time where colored people had very few options for schooling. Daniel began his education in
Hollidaysburg; then studied in Maryland, at the Freedmen s Bureau s Stanton School, and later in
Janesville, Wisconsin, at ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At that time no hospital training program in Chicago would accept African Americans. Since no one
would accept african americans, it was hard for blacks to get good training , be sufficient doctors, and
give good treatment; so Daniel decided that he wanted to change that(Gale). Williams went to various
organizations and churches on the west and south sides to sell the idea of such a hospital. This was a
feat to big for one person on his own to do, so he went to get help to fund the new hospital. In 1891
Provident Hospital and Training School Association opened as the first interracial hospital in the
United States. To help accomplish this, funds were raised through all kinds of efforts, such as bake
sales and ice cream sales. Individuals furnished the hospital with items from their homes, and because
of the new hospital both colors could work together, get equal help, and training which was a big
success back then(Sons). Daniel continued to take a stand and prove he could be a good doctor by
performing the first successful open heart

Informative Essay On Naps
Everyone takes naps but some people might think that napping is immature and only for babies.
However adults could nap to not just babies. Some people get very sleepy during the day so they take
a nap. Maybe they had a wild night out or their work hours got changed, I don t know but I guarantee
you that after the nap they will feel much more better. Napping could really change your attitude,
mood, and maybe even make your day great. Some of the most important people take naps. According
to source 2 it states, American presidents John F. Kennedy, Ronald Reagan, and Bill Clinton all took
frequent naps to help them deal with the pressures of leading a powerful nation. American presidents

  • 2. Software Projects And Risk Exposure Among Student Software... development. In a company, there are many factors beyond pure coding affecting the whole project development process. Unstable organization environment, corporate politics with negative effect on the project, or change in organizational management during the project etc. in a company will all have impacts on the project. However, for students developers, these issues are not within the consideration most of the times. The realization of huge differences on potential risks between students software projects and industrial software projects drives us to analyze risks among student population more closely and independently from existing work. To gain more insight into the risk exposure among student software project developers, especially under the following two different scenarios which are two common forms of practice for student groups: developing the software project by an individual or by a small team (3 or 4 people in a team). Studying the relationship between individual/team based software projects and risk exposure among student groups is quite useful and interesting. As far as we can see, it is the first time to conduct risk analysis only based on student groups and it is hoped that we could give student developers more guidance on risk management policies, which corresponding risks analysis is based on student groups but not professional fields, thus lessening software project risks and improving projects performance. PROACTIVE Mnemonic Analysis Throughout the course of Health Information 371, we have looked at various tools that are used or could be used in the field to help design, build, and implement systems. These tools explored concepts that were mostly related to the medical standpoint on how to diagnose patient s through decision making techniques. This helps the health professional make an accurate diagnosis based off of evidence and not speculation. Within the Health Information field, as informatics specialists we need to consider all of these techniques when designing the systems, creating policies, and updating the servers. In the first section (PRO), it looks at defining the problem, reframing the question, and focusing on the objective. The role of competition plays a large part of the storyline in this novel, A Separate Peace. In a sense, it s what made the connection between Phineas and Gene so strong. It also played a part in wedging a gap between Phineas and Gene. The author made it feel as though Gene was the one that competed so fully in the pair s relationship when Finny was supposed to be the one with the competitive nature. • 6. The Importance Of Science Science is an aspect of life and something which is identifiable in every student s lives as it is continuously extended, refined and revised. In the text, Taking Science to School, there are five points identifying why science should be taught science. The five reasons include 1. Science is a significant part of human culture and represents the human thinking capacity, 2. It provides common experience for development of language, logic, and problem solving skills to be used in the classroom, 3. A demand for students to make it personal and community decisions about issues in which scientific information plays a key role, 4. It will become a lifelong vocation, 5. The nation is reliant on the technical and scientific abilities for citizens due to economic competitiveness and national needs (Duschl et al, 2007, Page 34). The science curriculum should be focused and designed for students to be able to understand and grasp the knowledge of the basic skills, which in turn will lead learning efforts. Watson begins her (article) with refuting religious objections of the Association of Christian Teachers (ACT) in introducing atheism to the curriculum of RE. In the introductory stages of the rash the small bumps are filled with a clear fluid and are known as vesicles, but as the virus progresses the vesicles become hard and scab over. The fluid inside the vesicles turns into puss and the large bumps then become known as pustules. The rash becomes fully developed between 12 and 14 days after the symptoms of the disease appear. As the disease follows its course, symptoms become more and more severe and uncomfortable for the patient. Red spots on the patient begin to turn black, while others turn white, the individual experiences strong delirium, hemorrhages of blood at the anus, mouth, and nose, raw flesh from the stripping of the skin, and fistulous ulcers in the ligaments, body, limbs, and joints. Smallpox is also associated with the unbelievable amount of swelling and protuberance in the throat and eyes, which obstruct vision as well as the ability to swallow and perform similar functions. The virus also causes the rotting of the ligaments and bones. I will be referring to the textbook called, Religious and Spiritual Aspects of Human Service Practice written by James W. Ellor, F. Ellen Netting, and Jane M. Thibault (1999). This paper will include comparing and contrasting concepts of spirituality and religion, summarizing the influence of religious groups in human service development, and influence of religion on the historical development of clinical practice. Additionally, I will discuss the relationship between public policy and religion in the United States. To conclude, I will reflect on the implications of being a helping services professional. Even before recorded time, human beings have naturally sought a connection with one in which is greater than they are. This includes the desire to have a source of meaning. Prior to the Second World War, these connection needs were often met with various religious traditions. Around 1960 there was a change in United States with people who moved towards a more personal and spiritual expression of these connection needs. Regardless of having religious traditions or a spiritual expression they are both part of the culture and human experience for people. Since around the 1940s observers have revealed a smaller percentage of adults in attendance at church. However, studies have reported that the need for spiritual experiences is increasing (Ellor, Netting, and Thibault, 1999, pp. 1 3). Ellor et al. define ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Set in early 21st century Washington, DC, the police have the ability to stop murders before they happen with the help of three psychics. They use technology to enhance the visions of these psychics, referred to as pre cognitives (or pre cogs ) to generate not only the name of the victim and perpetrator, but also the evidence against them: hence the crime of murder is reduced to a black and white picture. In this paper, existing research focused on whether there are sentencing disparities between Caucasians and minorities will be presented. Minorities are more likely to be in possession of and convicted for crack cocaine drug crimes. Whereas Caucasians are more likely to be in possession of and convicted for powder cocaine drug crimes. Prior to the Fair Sentencing Act, one in possession of five grams of crack cocaine received equal punishment with one in possession of 500 grams of powder cocaine (Carlsen, 2010). Discoveries can reaffirm, transform and challenge preconceptions and assumptions about human nature, bringing about renewed perceptions that affect individuals and society. Through various poetic techniques, William Ernest Henley s Invictus explores the three dimensional nature of discovery, accentuating a successive revelatory self discovery as the persona overcomes seemingly insurmountable adversities. We see the persona s internal transformation being reflective of Henley s early contraction of tuberculosis, necessitating a leg amputation when he was 25. Trialling a revolutionary antiseptic saved Henley s other leg from amputation. Today, I will be speaking about the spiritual and emotional unearthing of inner strength, resilience and empowerment manifested in the lyrical quatrains of Invictus , amplifying discoveries as being intensely meaningful and transformative. An unexpectedly adverse environment can stimulate the evolution of an individual s perspective, precipitating an emotional paradigm shift. The hyperbolic simile and infernal allusion with Black as the Pit from pole to pole illustrates the magnitude of the persona s indefinite suffering, foreshadowing death and a bleak perspective on life with a melancholic atmosphere. We see the personification in night that covers me , where night is metaphorical for the persona s suffering, demonstrate the arduousness in surmounting unpredictable challenges, reinforcing the persona s misfortune and its ramifications are perpetual. However, the plosive consonants with the alliterated b , emphasising the bludgeoning, and metaphor in Under the bludgeonings of chance/My head is bloody, but unbowed conveys you, me and the persona as prisoners of probability being bombarded with challenges, highlighting the capricious difficulties and detriments affecting the individual. Napster strongly adapted the word sharing and put it their own terms to avoid any copyright infringement but it ended badly on their part. This disruptive technology was leading the market and had over 60 million users by 2001. Although very similar technologies were soon after developed, Napster was still on top and lead the market. Many users knew exactly what they wanted but getting it seemed to be the difficult part once Napster and the RIAA went into a legal battle. More commonly, the industry has been shaped ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In terms of the artists and musicians, I believe that although they started out as losers, in the end, they ended up winning because for already discovered, well known singers, they are getting the royalties they are owed and for new, up and coming artists, they are getting their name out there in a much less expensive way than before and still making some sort of money to support their dream. The agents and label companies will become winners as well through the transformations. The larger companies will most likely lose some strength and then gain back once they begin to find new artists and those artists begin to take off. The risk/reward of the digital market here will yield much more reward and their financial strength from the start will help them be a winner here. I feel the biggest loser in throughout the entire industry transformation is the packaging and CD production industry. Because CDs are no longer at an all time high, they will no longer be needed. There is very little need for this and it has almost become a niche market, barely used for music anymore, unless someone is burning their own music onto a CD. Albums being created and sold solely onto a CD has decreased substantially and within the next few years could become something in the past. This is the biggest loser by far through the music industry transformation. Although customers might think they are ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Forward Propagation and Backpropagation In case of forward propagation each node has the same classifier and none of them are fired randomly. Also repeating the input provides the same output. The question that arises at this point is if every node in the hidden layer receives same input, why dont all of them produce the same output? The reason is each set of input is modified by unique weights and biases [6]. Each edge has a specific weight and each node has a unique bias. Thus the combination of each activation is also unique and hence the nodes fire differently.Prediction of neural net depends on weight and bias.As prediction should be high it s desired that the prediction value should be as close to the actual output as ... The child, having received all he ever imagined and more, is overcome with such emotion which causes him to burst with laughter. This combination of feelings is nowhere near how ecstatic I was to end my uphill journey. This excitement is short lived as I once more continue my trek up the agonizing hill. • 31. Questions On Non Financial Firms 1. Introduction The 2007 2008 crisis started off in August 2007 as a subprime mortgage crisis primarily concentrated in the United States but quickly metamorphosized into a global financial crisis where financial institutions teeter on the edge of bankruptcy in many countries in addition to the United States. A global economic crisis ensues in which nonfinancial firms around the world appear to spiral downward as well. A key potential contributor to the plight of the non financial firms is the financial crisis itself, in the form of a negative shock to the supply of external finance needed by non financial firms. However, as the two quotes by some leading policymakers and scholars at the beginning of the paper indicate, the idea that non financial firms suffer from a strongly negative supply of finance shock is not universally shared. In addition, if non financial firms do not do well, there can certainly be other causes, such as a contraction of demand for their products. This paper has three objectives. First, it aims to develop a simple framework that can capture and quantify the relative importance of the finance shock to the economic health of non financial firms. Second, in a cross country context, it aims to investigate whether the responsiveness of the real economy to a given finance shock varies by country features that the literature suggests that could matter, such as the type of a financial system, the nature of a monetary and exchange rate regime, or the extent ... • 35. Why Mascots Should Change Their Name The Redskins Should Change Their Name When one typically thinks about a Native American, they picture this ideological representation of a Native American as depicted by popular culture. Native Americans are underrepresented on television, in books, in news, and all other forms of media. We, as a society, have chosen a path of ignorance in which we have chosen not to educate ourselves or our future generations on the true culture of Native Americans. We have ignored the negative impacts of using mascots such as Redskins and instead let it serve as a stereotype to fill our heads with unrealistic views and understandings of Native American culture. The resulting misconceptions leave many Native American students with a feeling of inferiority and questioning their self worth. The lack of accurate representation of Native Americans in our everyday lives has left members of society without more than a stereotype to draw from when thinking about characteristics of Native Americans. Native Americans have relative invisibility in mainstream media and this lets the few inaccurate portrayals, such as a sports team s mascot, have an overwhelming amount of power in forming stereotypes (Fryberg, Markus, Oyserman, Stone, 2008, pg. 208). Many members of society have a very narrow view of what they understand a Native American to look, dress, and act. Other changes it proposes is eliminating the state and local tax deduction. • 38. Similarities Between Underground And Notes From The... As I read Notes from the underground by Fyodor Dostoyevsky and watched the film Rashomon directed by Akira Kurosawa I noticed a few similarities and differences between the two. They were similar because they both are frame narratives, the narrator is unreliable, there were parts in first person or was written in first person and they both had analepsis. The main differences were the themes. The themes were very different in both stories. What is the theme in literature? A theme in literature is the main topic or topics of a story. As I read through the required text and watch the film I chose egoism and individual versus society for Notes from the Underground and multiplicity for Rashomon . A frame narrative is basically a story within a story. In Notes from the Underground the whole story is basically a bunch of stories that the narrator tells about his life. The narrator talks about his past and this is where analepsis comes in which is a flashback to a different time. For example the narrator lets us know at the beginning he is forty then later on he goes on to talk about what happens when he was twenty four. The narrator also is unreliable because the story is told in an irrational way. The film Rashomon also has a bunch of stories within the film. As each person tells their side, it s almost like mini stories. And as with Notes from the Underground the stories go back as analepsis. They flashback to the time when they happened to describe what actually happens. This film is described as an unreliable narrative because each story that was told was different, which makes you wonder what really happened. When I finished watching Rashomon I immediately said the theme is multiplicity. Every person that saw what happened had their own view of what happened. There was no story that was the exact say as the other. But that there says people will do anything to make a story sound good. Each interpretation of how everything went made someone look like someone else was to blame. There is a saying there is more than one side of a story and this film proves that. Characteristics Of Gun Shootings When conducting an investigation for a homicide due to a handgun it is important that investigators and firearms technicians have an understanding on how a handgun is manufactured, what is a bore, rifling patterns and their purpose, and caliber. Class and individual characteristics are present in handguns, projectiles and shell casings. Every handgun contains general rifling characteristics based on the number and width of grooves, as well as the direction of grooves. After a handgun is fired it can present with penetrating and perforating gunshot wounds, which have specific entry and exit characteristics. The muzzle to distance characteristics vary depending on how close or distant the shooter was from the victim or surface.
