Oftentimes, We Fail To Recognize That It Isnā€™T Simply The
Oftentimes, we fail to recognize that it isn t simply the big things in life that matter. It is also the
cumulative effect of small things that leads to our eternal destiny.
Charles A. Hall described the following: We sow our thoughts, and we reap our actions; we sow our
actions, and we reap our habits; we sow our habits, and we reap our characters; we sow our characters,
and we reap our destiny (quoted in The Home Book of Quotations, sel. Burton Stevenson [1934],
845).
So it is with finishing. As we decide whether or not we will finish something great or small, and as we
act upon those thoughts, and as we develop a habit of finishing, it will ultimately determine our
character one know as a finisher, which will help lead us to our ... Show more content on

Then Satan said, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me (Matthew
4:9). Then Jesus responded, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy
God, and him only shalt thou serve (Matthew 4:10). In this encounter with Satan, Jesus was able to
persevere in the face of temptation.
Toward the end of His mortal ministry, Jesus had to demonstrate much perseverance in the Garden of
Gethsemane as He faced the final acts of finishing our salvation.
Neal A. Maxwell talked about Christ s impending sacrifice and said, When the unimaginable burden
began to weigh upon Christ, it confirmed His long held and intellectually clear understanding as to
what He must now do. His working through began, and Jesus declared: Now is my soul troubled; and
what shall I say? Father, save me from this hour. Then, whether in spiritual soliloquy or by way of
instruction to those about Him, He observed, But for this cause came I unto this hour. (John 12:27.)
Neal A. Maxwell provided further insight into the Savior s suffering in the Garden of Gethsemane
when he said, ...in Gethsemane, the suffering Jesus began to be sore amazed, or, in the Greek,
awestruck and astonished.
Imagine, Jehovah, the Creator of this and other worlds, astonished ! Jesus knew cognitively what He
must do, but not experientially. He had never

A New Family Of Apple Os X And Ios Malware
WIRELURKER
Yedavalli Anantha Nag 30131626
ABSTRACT:
A new family of apple os x and ios malware was detected by palo alto networks , named wireluker . It
heralds a new era in malware across Apple s desktop and mobile platforms . It is the second detected
malware family that attacks iOS devices through OS X via USB and can infect installed iOS
applications similar to a traditional virus. This malware install s third party applications on non
jailbroken iOS devices through enterprise provisioning. WireLurker was generally used to trojanize
467 OS X applications on the Maiyadi App Store, which was a third party Mac application in China.
In the past six months, 469 infected applications were downloaded over 356,106 times and have
impacted thousands of devices.
WireLurker attacks any iOS device connected to USB with an infected OS X computer and installs
maiyadi applications or automatically generated malicious applications onto the device. WireLurker
exhibits anti reversing with the help of multiple component versions, customized encryption, code
obfuscation, hiding files and complex code structure.

El Greco s Influence On American Culture
The world of art has been influenced by Spanish Artists throughout the years. Art is a creative skill
and imagination. Art is typically in a visual form such as painting or sculpture producing works to be
appreciated primarily for their beauty or emotional power. Art allows people from different cultures
and different times to communicate with each other. Art is often has also made social changes
throughout time. A song, film or novel can rouse emotions in those who encounter it, inspiring them to
want change. Art in Spanish Culture has evolved over the years because of Spanish Artists such as the

Analysis Of The Film Leni Riefenstahl
Having directed and acted in many films, Leni Riefenstahl has become a major figure of the Nazi film
industry. Her most well known film Triumph of the Will (Triumph des Willens, 1935) is still
considered the greatest propaganda film of all time. While Riefenstahl claims that the film is a
documentary and based on history . Susan Sontag s response is that the film it is seen as a portrayal of
a fascist society. A Nazi propaganda tool and not necessarily intended as a fascist viewpoint. Sontag
reasons that the film techniques, and the relationship between Leni Riefenstahl and the Nazi
leadership as well as the consistent illustration of fascist themes found in the film establishes that
Triumph of the Will is fascist and intended to promote and preserve the Nazi ideology.
During the rise of power of Adolf Hitler and the Nazi Party s in the 1930 s, Leni Riefenstahl became a
household name as a film director, her claim to fame was putting a public face to Hitler. During this
time period, it was very rare for the public to know what their leader looked like, and with this film it
allowed many of the Germans to finally get to see who they elected into power. Hitler s goal was the
complete eradication of the Jewish peoples, in addition he wanted to spread his ideology and power
across Europe. In order to achieve this goal, Hitler needed the support of all of the German citizens.
Which lead to Hitler commissioning, Leni Riefenstahl to direct a film that would later be dubbed the

Social And Social Structure Theory
Social Structure Theory Introduction The social structure theory deliberates delinquency as a
gathering of the person s dealings with numerous groups, organizations, and process in the society.
Any person irrespective of their prominence in life is likely to become delinquents if they continue
with negative social affiliations. Every aspect of the society, social and economic must be viewed
using the social structure theories to find the cause of crime and deviance. The social structure theories
consist of four types which include social disorganization theory, anomie theory, differential
association theory, and labeling theory. Several theories offer different answers to this delinquent of

He contended that the financial base considerably resolute the social and political framework of a
humanity. Consequent Marxist elucidations put forward a more complex connection that emphasized
the relative objectivity of social and political groups, and an inclusive purpose by financial facets only
(Mason, 2013). In 1905, the German sociologist Ferdinand Tƶnnies argued in his study that merely the
constitution of a crowd into an accord generates a societal organization (Triplett, 2014). Ɖmile
Durkheim offered an idea that mixed social organizations and implements a played in guaranteeing the
concrete consolidation of society from side to side integration of different parts into a cohesive and
self reproducing whole. The idea of social structure was widely advanced in the 20th century, by key
aids from structuralist viewpoints drawing on the philosophies of Claude LĆ©vi Strauss, Feminist or
Marxist perceptions, from functionalist perceptions such as those established by Talcott Parsons and
his supporters, or from a range of logical viewpoints (Mason, 2013). The greatest persuasive efforts to
syndicate the notion of social structure with support are Anthony Giddens theory of structuration and
Pierre Bourdieu s practice theory. This allows him to contend that structures are neither autonomous of
performers nor defining of their conduct and which,

Climate Change And The Ice Age
Climate change. It is a continuously growing issue today. However, it is not a new phenomenon. In
fact, climate change has been occurring for tens of thousands of years. It began around twenty
thousand years ago when the Earth was in the Ice Age, an era when the planet was entirely frozen.
When the Ice Age ended, climate change was underway and human lifestyle began to experience great
transformations. These alterations have allowed humans to evolve from hunters and gatherers into a
more diversified society, one where they thrived more than ever before. Due to climate change, human
beings migrated to the Americas and developed technologies, languages, and agricultural methods to
organize their societies from 14,000 BCE to 1400 CE. During the Ice Age, humans were mostly
present in Africa, Asia, and Europe only. However, global migration became a more convenient
journey because of climate change. For instance, the melting of ice made it possible for humans to
migrate over a land bridge, which is covered by the Bering Strait today, from Asia to North America
about twenty thousand years ago. From the opposite side of the Old World, the Norse, more
commonly known as the Vikings, were able to sail from Europe to North America in the eleventh
century and colonize the islands of Greenland and Newfoundland Such journeys, as with nearly every
migration taking place at the time, were all possible because of expeditiously increasing temperatures.
As much as migration was

Paraneoplastic Neurologic Syndrome (PNS)
Introduction
Paraneoplastic neurologic syndromes (PNS) are syndromes that result from dysfunction of the nervous
system, caused by a benign or malignant tumor via mechanisms other than direct tumor cell
infiltration, metastasis, coagulopathy, infection or any treatment side effects [1]. All parts of the
central and peripheral nervous system may be affected by PNS and, as a result, signs and symptoms
are diverse. Most PNS of the central nervous system have in common a subacute course leaving the
patients severely disabled in weeks to months and inflammatory changes in the CSF, including
moderate lymphocytic pleocytosis, increased protein levels and IgG index and presence of CSF
specific oligoclonal bands[2]. Early recognition may be difficult

Racial Discrimination In African American Universities
Race relations on college campuses seems negligible on the surface of prestigious universities and
while the populous of these institutions are portrayed as open minded students, there is, at the least,
one consistent problem throughout colleges, especially in the south of the United States. Within these
institutions that claim to have liberal educations, why is there a lack of black members within the
Greek life at Baylor University? While there is a good amount of black students at Baylor, these black
students are not well represented within the traditional Greek life. Although there are historically black
fraternities and sororities known as the Divine Nine, the more prominent fraternities and sororities at
Baylor University lack black ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
DuBois in this situation would argue that African Americans feel a widespread feeling of dislike for
his blood, which keeps him and his children out of decent employment, from certain public
conveniences and amusements, from hiring houses in many sections... and from being recognized as a
man (DuBois). This idea of a color line even further restricts African Americans from achieving true
liberation from segregation. However, the most famous example of complete segregation no matter
their status occurred at the University of Alabama. Melody Twilley, an incoming college freshman
seeking to join one of the many sororities at the University of Alabama, but the sororities only saw one
thing: she was black. The most disturbing part about the incident is that Twilley met many, if not all,
of the sororities qualities. One professor from the university was cited to state that She s bright, she s
attractive, she s a member of the upper class (Zengerle). Although it makes sense that this sort of
individual should be able to join any sorority that he or she desired with these qualities, because she
was of an African American descent, she was not even considered. This demonstrates that the
definition of whiteness is more complicated than it seems and this creates criteria that is impossible
for someone of color to meet.

Empathy Is Extremely Important For Children
Empathy is extraordinarily important for children to understand and eventually put into practice, as it
exercises their ability to feel and respect the emotions of other people. Empathy also plays a big role
in trust and support both of which are very important aspects of any relationship, and is necessary for
living a healthy, functional life in today s society. In her article, Dovey describes A 2011 study
published in the Annual Review of Psychology [...] showed that, when people read about an
experience, they display stimulation within the same neurological regions as when they go through
that experience themselves. (Dovey par. 11). This means that when people, or in this case, children,
read stories, their brains react as if they were going through the same situations and emotions that they
read about. This is a great way for kids to learn about empathy, why it s important, and how to apply it
to their own lives. One may argue that, while reading may trigger empathetic feelings in the majority
of people, those who enjoy reading have greater empathetic tendencies than others, making reading to
teach empathy only applicable to those who like to read and have these higher than average
tendencies. Dovey also addresses this, stating that other studies published in 2006 and 2009 showed
[...] that people who read a lot of fiction [tended] to be better at empathizing with others (even after
the researchers had accounted for the potential bias that people with greater empathetic

The Case Against High School Sports Funding in America
After reading The Case Against High School Sports by Amanda Ripley started to make me think.
There were many strong points about how the priorities of the sports are beginning to be more
important to students than their education. Another great point was that the financing and budgeting is
unfairly distributed throughout school districts and is spent more on athletics and clubs and not
enough on classes. And I Believe that schools should put certain restrictions on the spending and
promoting or in school sports and clubs because of the major drop in national and world comparisons.

students now rank 22nd instead of 19th. And most shocking, they fell from 10th to 20th in reading
(Parker,2). If you compare American schools to other renowned top schools world wide such as in
Europe and Asia you would see a remarkable difference with the amount of time and money spent on
sports. Ripley stated that one football player costs about $1,300 a player. Math, by contrast, cost just
$618 a student. And the school district could save $150,000 in one year with cutting school sports and
extracurriculars (Ripley,3). Our Johnston School District also has a large price as our state s Athletic
Director Gary Ross: When you get to the issue of budgets there is really two parts to them. The
general budget which is what the school district per say pays towards coaches salaries, transportation,
and event workers. Coaches salaries are normally $120,000, transportation would be $50,000, and
event workers can be around $5,000 $10,000. Then the other part of the budget is the sports income,
which is money from booster clubs, participation from other schools, and admissions, and it comes to
roughly $120,000. Which goes out to uniforms, the athletic trainer, equipment and our participation at
other school events. (Ross) It should be that if a school is struggling financially to provide for the
school district , it should have an immediate plan to cancel athletics to save or help the school make a
comeback because

Symbolism In Tangerine
Growing, Changing, Tangerine
Tangerine is a book filled with action, drama, heart, wins, loses, and brotherhood. Paul had always
been the odd one out at school, and at home. Paul is legally blind, with glasses so thick, they look like
the bottom halves of coke bottles on his face. But when Paul moves to Tangerine Middle school, his
world is turned upside down. Paul finds himself happy, with friends, and on the soccer team. But not
everything was perfect at home. Paul has an older brother named Erik who likes to bully and
intimidate Paul. Paul had always been afraid of Erik, but he just can t quite remember why. The only
thing he does know is to watch his back around Erik. Edward Bloor uses wonderful examples of
characterization, and symbolism, to display the theme of growth and change in the story. ... Show

What is outsourcing Essay
What is Outsourcing? It is a method in which companies subcontract labor and support to outside
agencies (Klepper, 1997). How, why, and who companies outsource to are quickly becoming social
topics of discussion in our society. Everyone seems to have an opinion on outsourcing. I bet that I can
walk into a social gathering right now and hear discussions like outsourcing is good for the American
consumer or outsourcing takes jobs away from all of the hard working Americans. In either case,
outsourcing has raised great concerns over its effects on the American economy. In this paper, I will

Also, it may be more expensive to outsource. Sometimes it is cheaper to keep a process in house as
compared to outsourcing. Security and confidentiality concerns may arise, especially with payroll and
confidential information such as salary (Earl, 1996).
BPO is similar to information technology outsourcing but includes outsourcing related to accounting,
HR, benefits, payroll, and finance functions and activities (Embleton, 1998). Business Process
Outsourcing (BPO) is a decision to subcontract some or all important, non core, business processes.
This allows companies to invest its time, talent, and capital on basic business strategies that help
company growth. Better and more affordable services become available for consumers and taxpayers
(Embleton, 1998). Outsourcing allows companies to operate on an around the clock, 24/7 production
cycle, further adding to productivity (Embleton, 1998).
No matter what type of outsourcing a company uses, there is a see saw effect, someone on the high
and low end. There are pros, cons, positives and negatives. For example, if you are a cost cutting
director at a competitive company, the mention of outsourcing, especially offshore, may bring a smile
to your face. For computer programmers, call center workers, or factory workers the reaction is likely
to be more negative. The primary pro is that outsourcing jobs outside of the U.S. may help to

Diffusion Of Responsibility In Lord Of The Flies Analysis
Contradicting Diffusion of responsibility In Lauren Slater s novel, Opening Skinner s Box chapter
four involves having two psychologists named John Darley and Bibb Latane experimenting to see
why some people choose to ignore those in need of help. If we were to associate this chapter to the
boys from the book Lord of the Flies by William Golding, we would see how their behavior
contradicts Darley s and Latane s experiment. The two young psychologists experiment shows that if
there is a group of people witnessing an act of crime or an emergency occurring that they are less
likely to help the person or persons who are in need of help because responsibility is being passed
around amongst them (diffusion of responsibility). By solely focusing just on diffusion of
responsibility, Darley and Latane overlook the deeper problem of other factors being involved in not
being compassionate enough to help the person out. For this reason, is why I disagree with Darley and
Latane saying diffusion of responsibility is what prevents people from helping others.
While diffusion of responsibility may take some part in having people not take action because those
who are witnesses assume someone else will, the boys from Lord of the Flies show us that there are
additional factors coming in place which are also responsible. They ultimately contradict diffusion of
responsibility. In his book, Lord of the Flies, William Golding writes Even when the vessel broke in
Simon s nose and the blood gushed out they left him alone, preferring the pig s high flavor. (Golding
145) Golding then is emphasizing how the boys who witness Simon having a nose bleed do not care if
his nose is bleeding, this goes to show that the boys are not willing to help. Not because they assume
someone other than themselves will help Simon out with his bleeding nose, but because they do not
care for it since they have their predicaments they are worrying about at the time of his bleeding nose.
Not having empathy nor sympathy for others could result in not wanting to help people out. As strange
as it sounds, there are people who if they do not share empathy with the person in need of help they
will most likely just become the bystander. This proves Darley and

Feminism In Sesame Street
Sesame Workshop s decision to incorporate a transgender Muppet on the show mirrors the gradual
changes that have progressively taken place within the framework of feminism. The Eastern Kentucky
University Women and Gender Studies Program defined the evolution of feminism as: Historically,
feminism has evolved from the critical examination of inequality between the sexes with a more
nuanced focus on the social and performative constructions of gender and sexuality (2017). In other
words, the feminist establishment has transformed along with time to reflect the changes in society.
Which perfectly makes sense! In order, for progress to occur, you must move along with the times,
and Sesame Street has done that. Thus, the show will continue to positively influence hundreds of
American youth because they know that social evolution is the key to success!
Similarly, Sesame Street touches on the complexities surrounding race. Segi is a black, female Muppet
who made her debut in Season 42. This progression can be viewed as positive as it was a racially
diversifying move. However, the character was not given a name until Season 45 (Muppet Wiki 2017).
Therefore, I find the addition of the character to be an important aspect supporting racial equality, but
the fact that she remained unnamed for three seasons seems to be rather counterproductive.
Eventually, Sesame Workshop named Segi after Joey Mazzarino s adopted daughter, for whom
Mazzarino wrote: I Love My Hair (Muppet Wiki 2017).

Expectancy Violation Theory Summary
Chiles and Roloff use Expectancy Violation Theory to understand the relationship between
expectations and responses to apologies. Chiles and Roloff clarify that EVT assumes that individuals
form expectations for the normative and prescriptive rules guiding (communicative) interactions with
others, and when those expectations are violated individuals become cognitively aroused. At that
point, based on factors such as the situation, the context, and the relationship itself, individuals
consciously or unconsciously attribute a valence, positive or negative, to the violation. EVT is one of
the most widely used theoretical perspectives on expectations and communication behavior, and has
been applied to a variety of novel contexts. However, no studies ... Show more content on

K., Bennett, M., and Goffman, E. Once again, using EVT as their perspective, this article focuses on
the degree to which people expect apologies to be accepted, the extent to which they are
accepted/rejected and how offenders view expected and unexpected responses. Chiles and Roloff
found that while accepting an apology is positively evaluated by apologizers, this relationship is
moderated by their expectations of acceptance prior to the actual response to the apology. According
to EVT, the stronger an expectation is, the more it matters whether an individual violates it or not. The
more an apologizer believes an apology will be accepted, the more positively they will view
adherence to this expectation. Consequently, violations or deviations from increasingly strong
expectations will be viewed more negatively. Drawing on the framework of EVT, the researchers
predict and confirm that acceptance of an apology would be positively related to the evaluation of said
response, but this relationship would be moderated by the expectations the apologizer had for
acceptance. Chiles and Roloff found that a limitation to their experiment is that communicative
behavior is the driving behavior to the response of an apology, not expectations. However,
expectations are still an important factor determinate whether or not a person will forgive someone
who has hurt

The Effectiveness Of Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy
This essay is about the effectiveness of Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) in the
treatment of depression. The purpose of this essay is to address the question, how mindfulness works
to improve mental health when used as part of psychological treatment? Firstly, a brief overview is
given about what depression is and what the symptoms are, based on the Diagnostic and Statistical
Manual of Mental Disorders, fifth edition (DSM 5). Secondly, It will discuss mindfulness, as it is
defined in mental health treatments. The main body of this essay will cover a description of what
MBTC is, where it comes from, how it works, and how this treatment is activated in mindfulness
based therapies. The final section will review three studies that have used MBCT in the treatment of
depression.
Depression is a normal emotional reaction to perceived loss and hopelessness (Segal, Williams,
Teasdale, 2002). There are a number of different types of depression such as chronic depression,
manic depression and the primary focus of this essay Major Depressive Disorder (MDD). MDD is a
clinical depression, which is more chronic and more severe compared to other types of depression. It
significantly disrupts the individual s ability to meet the normal demands of life. According to many
clinicians, clinical depression should be considered as a medical illness in need of medical
intervention. Other mental health professionals believe this is an overstatement of the role of

After a four year wait, Tim Jordan and his family were given an allotment close to their home in
which they grew vegetables and happily ate them. However, they received a letter from the local
authorities stating that the soil on the allotment was poisoned with lead and arsenic, and was therefore
unsafe. After months of consultations, the local council sent off samples of the soil to multiple
laboratories to get it analysed. The results of which tests deemed the levels of toxins in the soil to be
low enough not to prove a threat to human health, and so normal gardening was resumed in the
allotments. Jordan and his family decided to give up the allotment because expert knowledge in the
field of science was reliant on assumptions about the soil and they were uncertain of the risks posed
by the poisoned soil. But the validity of the scientific tests was questioned by the UK Government s
environmental agency (EA) who claimed that the results of the tests were questionable because the
tests seem to find differing levels of toxins, and so the EA submitted the same samples to nine
laboratories in the UK and Wales, to one in the USA, and one in the Netherlands. The results they
produced demonstrated enough variation between the laboratories to suggest that such tests may be
underestimating the poisons.

Sports Competition For School Age Children Can Be a Good Thing
Many parents find themselves standing on the sidelines of a baseball game or a soccer game very early
on in their child s life. Cheering away as they watch their child make their first goal or hit their first
home run. This is just a small glimpse for parents into the world of sports and competition where their
child is concerned. According to Tami Coyle, from Arundel
Soccer Association, Participating in sports can be a good thing if handled in a healthy way (Coyle) .

There is a lot of controversy about use of medication in children with ADHD. Organized sports offer
many another options for parents and kids. The benefits include, a decrease in risky behavior, better
sportsmanship and easier integration into the social setting (Lullo and Van Puymbroeck 20 24) .
Organized sports help kids with learning how to show control and interact positively with their peers.
The hope is that this will help overflow into their everyday lives. Millions of children play sports for
fun but there are many other benefits for kids. The number of overweight children in the U.S. seems to
be increasing, Twenty percent of U.S. children are overweight (Becerra, Children) . Overweight
children have a better chance of becoming overweight adults. Encouraging children to be involved in
sports and staying away from the video games is a great start. Making exercise and sports fun for kids
promotes healthy habits that will last a life time. Sports Illustrated Kids did a survey of children titled
Kids Speak Out in 2009; they found that 51% of children asked would like to participate in sports (34

video game. I found this encouraging but I wish the percentage was even higher. Martin 4 Many

U.s. Foreign Policy History
The course of U.S. foreign policy history can be understood through watersheds, or critical points.
These points can serve as dividing lines that illuminate shifts in policy and opinion. However, thinking
of this history in terms of critical moments or turning points can simplify the complex actors,
sentiments and tendencies that create and influence foreign policy. These critical points are not
necessarily the sole cause of massive shifts in policy, but often add impetus to pre existing tendencies.
Nonetheless, watersheds can help the public digest patterns in foreign policy, playing an important
role in how American s perceive their role in the world. According to Brzezinski, America s
relationship with the world has been characterized by cycles of extroversion and introversion , or
involvement and isolationism. Throughout the nation s history, Americans have witnessed and
influenced many shifts or turns in this cycle, caused, exacerbated or illuminated by several critical
events. Through this lens, the Spanish American War, Pearl Harbor, the Vietnam War and 9/11 are
critical points that added the impetus to shift the cycle of U.S. foreign policy in the other direction.
The Spanish American war paved the way for American Imperialism, illuminating a shift towards
interventionist policies. Emerging from post WWI isolationism, the attack on Pearl Harbor created an
immediate national consensus, realigning foreign policy towards international involvement and

Kayak Fishing Camping Trip Tips (951 Words)
Whether you want to spend more time at your favorite fishing spot or finally have time to make a trip
to explore some new lakes or rivers, there s nothing quite like a kayak fishing camping trip. Not only
do they offer a great excuse to fish to your heart s content, but you also get to spend more time in the
great outdoors. However, combining kayak fishing with camping means you need to spend a lot more
time on preparation, especially if you are far from home. Unless you want to discover that you ve left
behind something essential take note of the following tips to ensure that your kayak fishing camping
trip goes smoothly.
1. Do Your Research
A kayak fishing camping trip is exciting, but make sure that you do all your research before diving in
headfirst. This means checking whether camping is allowed in the area you want to visit, what the best
times of the year are for camping there and what the weather will be like during your stay. As
disappointing as it might be, it is better to cancel your trip if stormy weather is predicted instead of
thinking of just braving it.

best and make sure to distribute the weight of the bags properly when loading them in your kayak. No

Such a construct is not only personalized, but would also extract relevant, individual specific
requisites from the changing environment to achieve coherence between an individual s personal
values and his/her personality. A review of the previous literature found that most previous studies
focused on investigating the respective influence of lifestyle and money attitudes on purchase decision
making independently, and few explored the influence of the interaction between these two factors
with regard to purchase decision making. Studies examining the interference effect of marketing
stimulation on the influence of the interaction between lifestyle and money attitude with regard to
purchase decision making are even rarer, and this has been the motivation for investigating this

The Benefits Of Methamphetamine
Methamphetamine is a highly addictive central nervous stimulant that induces the release of serotonin,
dopamine, and norepinephrine. Its side effects include increased alertness, increased activity, high
blood pressure, decreased appetite, euphoria, psychosis, and severe dental disease (Ravenel et al. 229).
In 1919 methamphetamine was synthesized for the first time and was utilized for treatment of
attention deficit disorder, to enhance physical performance, anorectic effects, increase wakefulness,
and as a general mood enhancer (Padilla and Ritter 148). The manufacturing of methamphetamine

It is vital to determine current use of methamphetamine and refer the patient to a rehabilitation center
before any elective treatment. Meth users may be hesitant to admit drug usage, so dental professionals
should express concern for the state of their oral health while being nonjudgmental in their
questioning. Reviewing basic oral hygiene and the etiology of periodontal disease with the patient is
recommended. Restorations with conventional means in patients who will continue to use meth is
contradictory as the decay will recur underneath the material. Instead, Kelsch recommends sealing the
area with fluoride and a xylitol releasing fluoride varnish and/or glass ionomer sealant and surface
protectant which will still benefit the patient during active drug use (24). Stimulation of saliva can be
achieved by prescribing medications to increase saliva flow such as pilocarpine or cevimeline, as well
as advising the patient to chew sugarless gum. A neutral fluoride is recommended to aid in the
remineralization of tooth structure and buffering the oral pH (Goodchild and Donaldson 587). Angular
chelitis and oral thrush may be treated with a fifty fifty mixture of Benadryl and Kaopeptate, which
should offer some pain relief and encourage the healing process (Kelsch 25). Unfortunately, in the
advanced stages of meth mouth, the only treatment may be extraction. There are treatment

How Did The Armenian Genocide Affect Society
The Armenian Genocide was a planned murder of the Armenians, due to the ethnic differences
between the Turks and the Armenians, which was spurred by the rising atrocities due to a suspicion
that the Armenians were not faithful to the Ottoman Turks. A rising question around this research was
to what extent did the Armenian Genocide affect the religious, political, economic, and social aspects
of society? The Armenian Genocide resulted in discrimination against the Christian Armenians
through separating the Armenians from the Ottoman Turks, granting less rights for the Armenians in
fear that the Armenians would abuse their power as they were viewed as very untrustworthy, and for
this reason the Armenians had less wealth and power than the Ottoman Turks. Another major reason
for the genocide was the desire of the Ottomans in creating a homogenous Turkish state.
I chose this topic because I am genuinely interested about how discrimination has affected populations
and what effect that has had on both populations the one being discriminated and the one
discriminating. The Armenian Genocide was the mass massacre of Armenians by a group of reformers
that took power in 1908, known as the Young Turks (Vahagn 797). These reformers believed that the
Armenians posed a threat to Turkey, especially during World War I. Due to this, the Armenians were
discriminated against before the genocide, as the Christian Armenians were thought to ... Show more

All of these functions essentially provide a substitute for human effort. Due to the widespread
consumption of petrol based liquid fuel, an incredibly large global infrastructure and set of

Motif In Invisible Man
In Invisible Man, Ralph Ellison, demonstrates a common theme/motif of invisibility, to show the
conflicting role of African Americans in a white society, throughout his literature. In particular, it
starts off with an unnamed narrator battling with in internal conflict between his identity and what
others tell him what his identity should be, which causes doubt and even self contradictory. All my life
I had been looking for something, and everywhere I turned someone tried to tell me what it was. I

Essay about The War of 1812
The War of 1812
On June 18, 1812, the United States declared war on Great Britain. The peace treaty to end the war
was signed in Europe, 1814. The war lasted from 1812 to the spring of 1815 because there was a delay
in communications. It was fought along the Canadian border, along with several sea battles. By the
time the war was over the United States lost 2,260 soldiers, and the British 1,600 soldiers. The war of
1812 was a very significant event that took place in the U.S. It did in fact confirm America s
independence. That is why it is often referred to as the second war of independence or the second
revolutionary war.

The British maritime policy was influenced by it s jealousy of America s commercial growth. Even
though both France and Britain violated the United States neutral rights on the seas, the United States
resented Britain maritime policies more because they dominated the seas. The U.S. tried to peacefully
change the policies of the European powers. There would not be a British maritime policy if it had not
been for the war with France. The policy was intended to destroy Frances economy.
During the Napoleonic Wars the Royal Navy expanded to 175 ships of the line and 600 ships overall,
requiring 140,000 sailors. The Royal Navy turned to impressments when it didn t have enough able
bodies to man the ships. The Royal Navy went after Royal Navy Veterans or deserters who had left
and became sailors in the United States merchant navy by intercepting and searching U.S merchant
ships. Britain also considered any U.S. citizen born in British liable for impressments. The inability to
distinguish Americans from non Americans due to a wide spread of use of false identity led to frequent
impressments of Americans that had never been British. This became a major grievance.
The United States attempted to change the European policies by the Embargo Act of 1807, after the
Chesapeake affair of 1807. The Embargo Act banned all American ships from foreign trade.

Adorno And Horkheimer Mass-Deception
Preface
Within this paper I will describe Adorno and Horkheimer best known work in their article, The
Cultural Industry: Enlightenment as Mass Deception. I will describe in great detail their concept of the
culture industry and its mass deception on society. Then, I will compare Adorno and Horkheimer s
view of the creator and receiver to that of the Birmingham School touching on both their similarities
and differences. Lastly, I will explain both schools influence on sociology and sociological research
concerning mass cultural production and describe how an empirical study based on both schools
would compare.
Horkheimer Adorno The Culture Industry
Theodore Adorno and Max Horkheimer studied Sociology within called the Frankfurt School. The

Structuralism is based off looking at the structures, or the bigger picture within a study. Since Adorno
and Horkheimer are concerned with the mass deception that is created by the larger structures in
society such as the entertainment industry, an empirical study today would look similar to that. The
study could focus on the use of advertisements to create mass deception but it would not be a study of
individual behavior as so much one of the larger institutions within society. Methods that would be
used would be perhaps a literature reviews, a survey on different advertisements and their purpose and
a survey of people s perceptions of advertisements and their purpose. For the study the goal is to study
the effects of the creator on the social world and its receivers and study the links between them all, as

Torpedoes Research Paper
Torpedoes can easily be considered one of the most significant modern inventions in maritime history
leading up to the advancements made during the late 1800s. The earliest torpedoes in today s terms
would be considered mines, as they were not self propelled, and existed in the early 1800s.
Adaptations of early sedentary torpedoes were used widely during the American Civil War, although
their significance in naval warfare was overshadowed by the emergence of steam engines and iron
armor on ships. Post Civil War, many advancements were made regarding rifling that led to the
invention of the self propelled torpedo. In World War I and World War II, torpedoes were the weapon
of choice in naval engagements. Torpedoes continued to be a threat ... Show more content on

An inventor by the name of David Bushnell retrofitted a wooden barrel into a submersible, attached
with a smaller barrel containing a 150 lb charge of gunpowder (Thomas). The Turtle s task was a
discreet offensive mission attempting to blow a hole in the convoy of ships blockading the New York
harbor (Thomas). In the end, the Turtle was deemed unsuccessful and the project was abandoned.
Years later Robert Fulton, with the knowledge of Bushnell s work, saw the torpedo as the opportunity
to be a defensive weapon to keep the seas safe for travel and comerce (Cutcliffe and Fabbri 879).
Fulton s torpedo was an underwater mine that would be connected to the sea floor by chain, where it
would reside indefinitely. He struck some setbacks initially with the gunpowder housing, as it was
found it did not efficiently explode on impact in every instance (Branfill Cook 13). In France during
the year 1805, he conducted unsuccessful experiments with the French Navy attempting to sink a ship
anchored in the harbor using towed torpedoes (Cutcliffe and Fabbri 885). Just before Fulton died at
the age of forty nine he composed the idea behind the spar torpedo, which later became his legacy and
the primary motivator for the creation of the CSS Hunley and its attempted use of a spar torpedo

Computer Networks And Its Impact On The Organization s...
Computer networks allow for employees within an organization to share files and exchange ideas
more efficiently. Also, computer networks make it easier to back up all the company s data on an
offsite server. Computer networking supports business operations and contributes immensely to
globalization. Therefore, organizations invest heavily in computer networks ensuring they work
efficiently. This paper discusses ten points to consider when evaluating a computer network. These
evaluation points explore the network s: security, data rate, network upgrade tolerance, device
interfacing, internet connections, application performance, network services, wireless connectivity,
and its cost.

Data rate analysis
For networks, the data medium is an important component. Given the medium works properly, then
the speed of transferring data (data rate) is good and short of delayed transmission. It is important to
ensure that networks have the right data medium in place. E.g. wired networks mostly utilize Ethernet
cables which can utilize coaxial cable, twisted pair wires or fibre optics. Furthermore, these
technologies come with pros and cons. A differentiator organization might ignore the cost of fibre
optics to gain higher data rates. Conversely, a cost leader might utilize twisted pair wires as they are
the least expensive technology used in networks. The network s performance and data rate is
determined by the data medium hence it has to be analyzed during a network evaluation.(Ramandeep,
2013)

Sometimes, large companies absorb smaller companies to gain several advantages. For example, a
German company acquired the company I work for recently. Hence, the buyout entails reorganization
within the two companies and network upgrades. Also, the coming together of the two companies
creates jobs and the company will be hiring new employees who need access to network resources.
Furthermore, the company s research facility is expanding and new offices will require connectivity.
Thus, evaluating my companies network will require determining whether a network upgrade is

Diffusion And Diffusion Of Diffusion
Cultural Diffusion Diffusion occurs when people, their ideas and things move from one location to
another location. There are several types of diffusion that can occur. According to The Human Mosaic
there are five types of diffusion that can occur. The first type of diffusion that occurs is called
relocation diffusion. Relocation diffusion occurs when an individual or individuals migrate and bring
along certain traits and ideas with them to the new location. Examples of traits that some people bring
with them are their languages, certain mannerisms, religions, their dress and even their diet. One
example of a trait that is highly diffused is Christianity. We can see from the map on page 28 and 29
that Christianity is a religion that is highly diffused throughout many countries. From the map it shows
that Christianity is found in locations such as Australia, Brazil, USA and Russia (Smith 28,29).
Another type of diffusion is expansion diffusion. During expansion diffusion, practices and ideas are
spread over a population from one area to the next having a snowball effect. Expansion diffusion has a
total of three different subtypes. The first subtype of expansion diffusion is hierarchical diffusion.
With Hierarchical diffusion only select populations are affected by traits and ideas being diffused.
Hierarchical diffusion is thought to affect individuals who are of higher importance or from one urban
area to another urban area, skipping the rural places in between. An

Examples Of Face Negotiation Theory
OPTION #2 THEORY EXPLORATIONS 2
Option #2 Theory Explorations
What do money, time and face have in common? They are all something that people try to save. Some
cultures in the world are focused on saving money, some on saving time. Yet, unlike money or time,
there exists a universal desire among all peoples to save face. This saving of face during a conflict and
it s intercultural understanding is known as the Face Negotiation Theory. The Face Negotiation Theory
has evolved since its first inception; however, it continues to be highly applicable with broad
applications worldwide.
The Face Negotiation Theory Defined The Face Negotiation Theory was proposed by researcher Stella
Ting Toomey in 1985 Oetzel Ting Toomey, 2003). It is based on the concept that individuals of every
culture found in the world care about how their face (or self image) is presented and it seeks to explain
the reason individuals of different cultures manage conflicts which occur in different ways (Oetzel
Ting Toomey, 2003). In conflicts, a person s face may be under threat and this causes an individual to
want to save or restore their face. The theory calls this behavior Facework .

Therefore, Ting Toomey expanded upon concepts in Goffman s theory. She defined face as a positive
social self image which occurred in both relationships and network contexts. Ting Toomey developed
a theory (described above) which incorporated multiple contexts which included filtering the theory
through the perspective of the Asian culture (Communication Studies, n.d.). In fact, face is a metaphor

How to Write a Lab Report

Then Jesus responded, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve (Matthew 4:10). In this encounter with Satan, Jesus was able to persevere in the face of temptation. Toward the end of His mortal ministry, Jesus had to demonstrate much perseverance in the Garden of Gethsemane as He faced the final acts of finishing our salvation. Neal A. Maxwell talked about Christ s impending sacrifice and said, When the unimaginable burden began to weigh upon Christ, it confirmed His long held and intellectually clear understanding as to what He must now do. His working through began, and Jesus declared: Now is my soul troubled; and what shall I say? Father, save me from this hour. Then, whether in spiritual soliloquy or by way of instruction to those about Him, He observed, But for this cause came I unto this hour. (John 12:27.) Neal A. Sontag reasons that the film techniques, and the relationship between Leni Riefenstahl and the Nazi leadership as well as the consistent illustration of fascist themes found in the film establishes that Triumph of the Will is fascist and intended to promote and preserve the Nazi ideology. • 7. Climate Change And The Ice Age Climate change. It is a continuously growing issue today. However, it is not a new phenomenon. In fact, climate change has been occurring for tens of thousands of years. It began around twenty thousand years ago when the Earth was in the Ice Age, an era when the planet was entirely frozen. When the Ice Age ended, climate change was underway and human lifestyle began to experience great transformations. These alterations have allowed humans to evolve from hunters and gatherers into a more diversified society, one where they thrived more than ever before. Due to climate change, human beings migrated to the Americas and developed technologies, languages, and agricultural methods to organize their societies from 14,000 BCE to 1400 CE. During the Ice Age, humans were mostly present in Africa, Asia, and Europe only. However, global migration became a more convenient journey because of climate change. For instance, the melting of ice made it possible for humans to migrate over a land bridge, which is covered by the Bering Strait today, from Asia to North America about twenty thousand years ago. From the opposite side of the Old World, the Norse, more commonly known as the Vikings, were able to sail from Europe to North America in the eleventh century and colonize the islands of Greenland and Newfoundland Such journeys, as with nearly every migration taking place at the time, were all possible because of expeditiously increasing temperatures. • 11. Empathy Is Extremely Important For Children Empathy is extraordinarily important for children to understand and eventually put into practice, as it exercises their ability to feel and respect the emotions of other people. Empathy also plays a big role in trust and support both of which are very important aspects of any relationship, and is necessary for living a healthy, functional life in today s society. In her article, Dovey describes A 2011 study published in the Annual Review of Psychology [...] showed that, when people read about an experience, they display stimulation within the same neurological regions as when they go through that experience themselves. (Dovey par. 11). This means that when people, or in this case, children, read stories, their brains react as if they were going through the same situations and emotions that they read about. This is a great way for kids to learn about empathy, why it s important, and how to apply it to their own lives. One may argue that, while reading may trigger empathetic feelings in the majority of people, those who enjoy reading have greater empathetic tendencies than others, making reading to teach empathy only applicable to those who like to read and have these higher than average tendencies. Dovey also addresses this, stating that other studies published in 2006 and 2009 showed [...] that people who read a lot of fiction [tended] to be better at empathizing with others (even after the researchers had accounted for the potential bias that people with greater empathetic ... And I Believe that schools should put certain restrictions on the spending and promoting or in school sports and clubs because of the major drop in national and world comparisons. Ripley stated that one football player costs about $1,300 a player. Math, by contrast, cost just $618 a student. And the school district could save $150,000 in one year with cutting school sports and extracurriculars (Ripley,3). Then the other part of the budget is the sports income, which is money from booster clubs, participation from other schools, and admissions, and it comes to roughly $120,000. Which goes out to uniforms, the athletic trainer, equipment and our participation at other school events. • 15. Diffusion Of Responsibility In Lord Of The Flies Analysis Contradicting Diffusion of responsibility In Lauren Slater s novel, Opening Skinner s Box chapter four involves having two psychologists named John Darley and Bibb Latane experimenting to see why some people choose to ignore those in need of help. If we were to associate this chapter to the boys from the book Lord of the Flies by William Golding, we would see how their behavior contradicts Darley s and Latane s experiment. The two young psychologists experiment shows that if there is a group of people witnessing an act of crime or an emergency occurring that they are less likely to help the person or persons who are in need of help because responsibility is being passed around amongst them (diffusion of responsibility). By solely focusing just on diffusion of responsibility, Darley and Latane overlook the deeper problem of other factors being involved in not being compassionate enough to help the person out. For this reason, is why I disagree with Darley and Latane saying diffusion of responsibility is what prevents people from helping others. While diffusion of responsibility may take some part in having people not take action because those who are witnesses assume someone else will, the boys from Lord of the Flies show us that there are additional factors coming in place which are also responsible. They ultimately contradict diffusion of responsibility. In his book, Lord of the Flies, William Golding writes Even when the vessel broke in Simon s nose and the blood gushed out they left him alone, preferring the pig s high flavor. (Golding 145) Golding then is emphasizing how the boys who witness Simon having a nose bleed do not care if his nose is bleeding, this goes to show that the boys are not willing to help. Not because they assume someone other than themselves will help Simon out with his bleeding nose, but because they do not care for it since they have their predicaments they are worrying about at the time of his bleeding nose. Not having empathy nor sympathy for others could result in not wanting to help people out. As strange as it sounds, there are people who if they do not share empathy with the person in need of help they will most likely just become the bystander. This proves Darley and ... Feminism In Sesame Street Sesame Workshop s decision to incorporate a transgender Muppet on the show mirrors the gradual changes that have progressively taken place within the framework of feminism. The Eastern Kentucky University Women and Gender Studies Program defined the evolution of feminism as: Historically, feminism has evolved from the critical examination of inequality between the sexes with a more nuanced focus on the social and performative constructions of gender and sexuality (2017). In other words, the feminist establishment has transformed along with time to reflect the changes in society. Which perfectly makes sense! In order, for progress to occur, you must move along with the times, and Sesame Street has done that. Thus, the show will continue to positively influence hundreds of American youth because they know that social evolution is the key to success! Similarly, Sesame Street touches on the complexities surrounding race. Segi is a black, female Muppet who made her debut in Season 42. This progression can be viewed as positive as it was a racially diversifying move. However, the character was not given a name until Season 45 (Muppet Wiki 2017). Therefore, I find the addition of the character to be an important aspect supporting racial equality, but the fact that she remained unnamed for three seasons seems to be rather counterproductive. Eventually, Sesame Workshop named Segi after Joey Mazzarino s adopted daughter, for whom Mazzarino wrote: I Love My Hair (Muppet Wiki 2017). ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 17. Expectancy Violation Theory Summary Chiles and Roloff use Expectancy Violation Theory to understand the relationship between expectations and responses to apologies. Chiles and Roloff clarify that EVT assumes that individuals form expectations for the normative and prescriptive rules guiding (communicative) interactions with others, and when those expectations are violated individuals become cognitively aroused. At that point, based on factors such as the situation, the context, and the relationship itself, individuals consciously or unconsciously attribute a valence, positive or negative, to the violation. EVT is one of the most widely used theoretical perspectives on expectations and communication behavior, and has been applied to a variety of novel contexts. However, no studies ... Once again, using EVT as their perspective, this article focuses on the degree to which people expect apologies to be accepted, the extent to which they are accepted/rejected and how offenders view expected and unexpected responses. Chiles and Roloff found that while accepting an apology is positively evaluated by apologizers, this relationship is moderated by their expectations of acceptance prior to the actual response to the apology. According to EVT, the stronger an expectation is, the more it matters whether an individual violates it or not. The more an apologizer believes an apology will be accepted, the more positively they will view adherence to this expectation. Consequently, violations or deviations from increasingly strong expectations will be viewed more negatively. Drawing on the framework of EVT, the researchers predict and confirm that acceptance of an apology would be positively related to the evaluation of said response, but this relationship would be moderated by the expectations the apologizer had for acceptance. Chiles and Roloff found that a limitation to their experiment is that communicative behavior is the driving behavior to the response of an apology, not expectations. The results of which tests deemed the levels of toxins in the soil to be low enough not to prove a threat to human health, and so normal gardening was resumed in the allotments. Jordan and his family decided to give up the allotment because expert knowledge in the field of science was reliant on assumptions about the soil and they were uncertain of the risks posed by the poisoned soil. • 24. U.s. Foreign Policy History The course of U.S. foreign policy history can be understood through watersheds, or critical points. These points can serve as dividing lines that illuminate shifts in policy and opinion. However, thinking of this history in terms of critical moments or turning points can simplify the complex actors, sentiments and tendencies that create and influence foreign policy. These critical points are not necessarily the sole cause of massive shifts in policy, but often add impetus to pre existing tendencies. Nonetheless, watersheds can help the public digest patterns in foreign policy, playing an important role in how American s perceive their role in the world. According to Brzezinski, America s relationship with the world has been characterized by cycles of extroversion and introversion , or involvement and isolationism. Throughout the nation s history, Americans have witnessed and influenced many shifts or turns in this cycle, caused, exacerbated or illuminated by several critical events. Through this lens, the Spanish American War, Pearl Harbor, the Vietnam War and 9/11 are critical points that added the impetus to shift the cycle of U.S. foreign policy in the other direction. The Spanish American war paved the way for American Imperialism, illuminating a shift towards interventionist policies. Emerging from post WWI isolationism, the attack on Pearl Harbor created an immediate national consensus, realigning foreign policy towards international involvement and ... How Did The Armenian Genocide Affect Society The Armenian Genocide was a planned murder of the Armenians, due to the ethnic differences between the Turks and the Armenians, which was spurred by the rising atrocities due to a suspicion that the Armenians were not faithful to the Ottoman Turks. A rising question around this research was to what extent did the Armenian Genocide affect the religious, political, economic, and social aspects of society? The Armenian Genocide resulted in discrimination against the Christian Armenians through separating the Armenians from the Ottoman Turks, granting less rights for the Armenians in fear that the Armenians would abuse their power as they were viewed as very untrustworthy, and for this reason the Armenians had less wealth and power than the Ottoman Turks. Another major reason for the genocide was the desire of the Ottomans in creating a homogenous Turkish state. I chose this topic because I am genuinely interested about how discrimination has affected populations and what effect that has had on both populations the one being discriminated and the one discriminating. The Armenian Genocide was the mass massacre of Armenians by a group of reformers that took power in 1908, known as the Young Turks (Vahagn 797). • 39. Diffusion And Diffusion Of Diffusion Cultural Diffusion Diffusion occurs when people, their ideas and things move from one location to another location. There are several types of diffusion that can occur. According to The Human Mosaic there are five types of diffusion that can occur. The first type of diffusion that occurs is called relocation diffusion. Relocation diffusion occurs when an individual or individuals migrate and bring along certain traits and ideas with them to the new location. Examples of traits that some people bring with them are their languages, certain mannerisms, religions, their dress and even their diet. One example of a trait that is highly diffused is Christianity. We can see from the map on page 28 and 29 that Christianity is a religion that is highly diffused throughout many countries. From the map it shows that Christianity is found in locations such as Australia, Brazil, USA and Russia (Smith 28,29). Another type of diffusion is expansion diffusion. During expansion diffusion, practices and ideas are spread over a population from one area to the next having a snowball effect. Expansion diffusion has a total of three different subtypes. The first subtype of expansion diffusion is hierarchical diffusion. With Hierarchical diffusion only select populations are affected by traits and ideas being diffused.
