The Ponzi Scheme Research Paper
Life is simply a game, a game played by billions of people every day. Just like any other game some
players play by the rules and others choose not to. Some players go to work every day to earn money
whereas some cheat and find alternatives to working hard to become wealthy. Majority of these
cheaters play money making schemes on those who have worked hard and countless hours for their
money. There have been many people affected by countless amounts of schemes in the past. A
conspiracy in particular that has destroyed the lives of hundreds of thousands is a scheme known as
the Ponzi scheme. Named after Charlie Ponzi, it was first used in the year of 1919 by Ponzi himself.
Charlie, who is now nicknamed the father of the Ponzi scheme, was thirty seven at the time and was

So what is the Ponzi scheme? (Article) The Ponzi scheme today is seen as fraudulent investment
operation. It all starts with a central operator who promises investors incredible returns that cannot be
found in the market today, convincing the investor that they use secret trading techniques that work.
Early investors are eventually given the promised returns which are paid for with the investment of
later investors. In reality there is no actual business and no profit produced, the whole operation
consist of only invested money minus a cut for the man or women running the scam. Early investors
who are unaware of the scam are very satisfied with their returns and encourage friends and family to
invest with the Ponzi operator, the word spreads like wildfire. It is for that reason that the scammer
does not need to advertise. In the case of Charlie Ponzi, he was able to promise investors at the time a
shocking return of 50 percent in only 90 days. He told these investors that

Interviewing a Friend
Humans are complex and intricate beings. They think, behave and look different. They are different in
their personalities and attitudes; and their way of thinking and behaving also differ. I have found in my
experience that the best way to know others is to interact and to socialize. My life has been filled with
lots of people with whom I have interacted and who have taught me a valuable lesson. When thinking
of people that I have come across in my life, I thought of interviewing one of my classmates from
English class.
I got an opportunity to interview my classmate Mr. Nabaraj Kandel. He is 19 years old. He is a very
hardworking individualist who was born in a small village called Gulmi but was raised in Kathmandu,
Nepal. Nabaraj spent ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He is religious and also superstitious. He believes in afterlife and reincarnation. He thinks life comes
from another life. While interviewing him, I found many things common in between him and me. One
of those was the cultural shock that we experienced in the United States. Besides, both of us seem to
have more or less same kind of experiences in the United States. We talked about our visit to cities
like Atlanta, Dallas, New Orleans. We also discussed about our interest in sports and music. It was
really a good conversation. But there was one thing about which we had different opinions. And it was
all about politics. I don t get involved in politics. I like to stay away from it. But he likes politics. He
likes writing articles on social and political issues. I feel his opinion is very true in his sense. I hate
politics because most of the politicians in our country are corrupt and work for their own benefits.
I had a great time interviewing Nabaraj. I am glad that I got an opportunity to talk to someone who is
an international student like me and is from my own country, Nepal. The interview with him made me
realize that I should really need to work on some of the principles of his life. I would also suggest
other people that I come across in my life to follow these

Atrial Septal Disease
Atrial septal defects (ASDs) are a deficiency in the wall between the right and left atrium of the heart
(5). ASDs account for 10% of all congenital heart defects(19) and 30% of those diagnosed in
adulthood (20). Definitive diagnosis is by transthoracic echocardiography, though signs of an ASD can
be found on physical examination, electrocardiography and chest radiography (21).
There are four types of ASD, classified according to their position in the interatrial septum (Figure 2):
Ostium secundum defects which represent 80% of all ASDs and are located in the region of the fossa
ovalis
Ostium primum defects which are located in the lower portion of the septum, adjacent to the
atrioventricular (AV) valve
Sinus venosus defects which are located at the junction of the superior/inferior caval veins

Exertional dyspnoea and fatigue are the most common symptoms. These are caused by a left to right
shunt, when the connection between the two atria allows blood to pass from the left side of the heart to
the right. This occurs because the pressure in the left side of the heart is naturally higher than the right.
The extra blood from the left atrium overloads the right atrium and the right ventricle, causing right
heart dilation, and subsequent heart failure (5). If left untreated, patients can develop reversal of the
ASD, resulting in a right to left shunt; this is known as Eisenmenger s syndrome. Other complications
include atrial tachyarrhythmias or stroke (21, 22).
A patient is indicated for closure if they experience symptoms, irrespective of age, to reduce
subsequent morbidity and mortality (21). To reduce this risk, closure should be considered in patients
at risk of a paradoxical embolism, such as patients undergoing pacemaker implantation or professional
divers (5,

What Factors Contributed To The Civil War
INTERNATIONAL AFFAIRS
Strengthening U.S. Foreign Power and Influence
The Union defeat of the Confederacy resulted in a strengthened U.S. government, which led to the
defeat of the French in Mexico, the confederation of Canada in 1867, and the purchase of the Alaskan
territory.
After the fall of the Confederacy, U.S. leaders were able to deploy troops to the Texas Mexico border
to help resist the French intervention in Mexico. This pressure, combined with Mexican resentment,
led to the French Emperor Napoleon II to abandon his quest for Mexico.
Meanwhile in the North, Canadian politicians feared a resurgence of the U.S., and some U.S.
politicians called for the annexation of the British North American territory. This led the Canadians to

government whether it would be just a confederation of separate states or one nation with a national
government, and whether a nation that stated all men were created equal with a right to liberty would
continue to allow the practice of owning slaves.
The Civil War was the result of basic differences between the free and slave states. After Abraham
Lincoln was elected President in 1860, vowing to keep slavery out of the territories, seven states from
the South seceded from the Union and established their own nation. Lincoln and most of the people
from the North refused to recognize this new nation as being separate from the U.S.
The war was triggered at Fort Sumter near Charleston, South Carolina, when the Confederate Army
claimed this U.S. fort as their own on April 12, 1861. They forced the federal troops there to lower the
American flag and surrender. President Lincoln sent U.S. forces there to try to suppress the
Confederates. An additional four states seceded to join the Confederacy. By the end of 1861, several
battles had already been fought in Virginia, Missouri, North Carolina and South Carolina and nearly
one million men confronted one another along 1200 miles from Virginia to

March Book One And Two Analysis
The pathway to equality for African Americans was a lengthy and laborious process that required
dedication and hard work. March Book One and Two by John Lewis, Andrew Aydin, and Nate Powell
describes John Lewis introduction to the inequality and his work during the Civil Rights Movement.
The story is told by Lewis personal accounts and images, which provides an unique reading for the
audience. March: Book One and Two depicts the process of how John Lewis starts to become aware of
the actions against the African Americans and it follows with the protests he was involved in.
Throughout the two books, the chickens stood out the most (p. 23). John Lewis connection to the

indicating accountability is citing the photos the source utilizes. When reading the work, the readers

is knowledgeable in the subject. The book, Selma to Saigon: The Civil Rights Movement and the
Vietnam War, helps my research paper, by providing information about how the protests became less
diverse and the effects on the movement. This helps to indicate the importance of the strategies that
were utilized during the Civil Rights Movement. Similarly to the others, this source also upholds
credibility by providing the sources it used. The books is also accredited by being published by a well

Trauma In Haiti Sociology
When compared to the living standards of people in so called first world countries such as the United
States of America or Australia, the trauma that the people of Haiti undergo in their everyday existence
should be universally recognised, and humanitarian intervention should not be an option but rather a
requirement. In an ethnography delving into the violence and trauma affecting the citizens of Haiti
(James, 2010), anthropologist Erica Caple James provides an in depth description of the suffering that
Haitians endure, as well as the consequences of their social, physical, and psychological oppression.

constant dictation of Haitians has allowed very little agency to be expended; more often than not,

specifically by the United States of America, in order to free Haitians from the oppression faced daily
and attempt to provide a society in which each individual gained back their agency without threat of
sexual, physical, or mental violence. Although the intentions behind this intervention may have been

Hustle As The Strategy Summary
The strategy as one of the factors that are essential for sustainable success of the Organization, is hot
disputes with the passage of time. The most varied range of topics, concepts and theories is around the
strategies. The objective of the essay is a critical review of the article Hustle as the strategy by Amar
Bhide. First of all, it will look into the position of the article in the broader debate on strategies.
Secondly, it will examine the suppositions and theoretical bases of the article.
It will then assess the strengths and weaknesses of the viewpoints presented in this article. And lastly,
author s personal thoughts on strategy will be terminated alongside the conclusion of the entire essay.
Position in the broader strategy of the debate
Amar Bhide applies hustle as a strategy for the organisation to succeed in the market. He contradicts
the role of the strategic planning or long term development strategy and at the same time puts
emphasise on the role of the operation and super execution (Bhide, 1984). This position is in the wider
debates on the competition verses Performance view, Prescriptive verses Emergent view and
Positioning approach verses Resource based View (RBV). Amar Bhide has his viewpoints on the side
of the performance, to comply with the mandatory requirements or the organisation led approach.
From the perspective of performance view, organisation is internally self focused rather than obsessive
preoccupation with rivals and making

The African Americans Many Rivers To Cross Movie Analysis
The film, The African Americans: Many Rivers to cross, Episode 5: Rise! coves African American
history from 1940 to 1968. This film was written by Henry Louis Gates which is composed of taking
us down the road to civil rights. In the beginning of his film, he briefly mentions that even a century
after emancipation things such as segregation would be contradictory. Gates is opposed to the thoughts
of segregation; he views segregation as something that ll never fade even years after the freeing, there
will always be that separation and injustice. He covers all historical people who left their marks and

Before Cunningham was invited to join the Martha Graham Company in 1939, he had already
established himself as a gifted dancer and choreographer at Cornish School of Fine Arts in Seattle
America. The school witnessed the first three works created by Cunningham Unbalanced March

His divergence from typical dance technique has allowed for him to become a worldwide success

Animal Culture And Its Effects On Human Culture
Animal culture is studied through comparative studies between populations and locations, field
observations, and laboratory experiments. It is important to be critical in evaluating the results of these
studies because behaviors in artificial situations or captivity will be different than in the wild. Animals
are likely to act differently when they are not in their natural environment. Behaviors will vary and the
long lasting effects of the behaviors may not be visible (Lalaland, 2003). Evidence of non human
culture has been found in animals such as songbirds, whales, dolphins, primates, and ants. Non human
behaviors are seen as encompassing culture if they meet certain conditions: the behavior must be
practiced by multiple members of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another important aspect about the cultural evidence is it was first observed in 1952 and eight
generations later, in 2008, was still being observed in the wild monkeys. The monkeys on this island
develop behavioral differences as a result of social learning rather than genetic variation (Matsuzawa,
2008: R588). The next study regarding primates was seen in 2010 while observing wild chimpanzees
in Uganda, with cultural differences between two populations in different areas. The chimpanzees
displayed different ways of utilizing tools around them to retrieve honey within the fallen logs around
them. The Kibale Forest chimps used sticks while the Budongo Forest chimps utilized leaves sponges
that were made from chewed leaves. To study the differences, researchers provided the monkeys with
a task to retrieve honey out of an apparatus. Each group resorted to behaviors that they had been
familiar with in the beginning, those from Kibale using sticks and Budongo resorting to leave sponges
(Cell Press, 2010). Klause Zuberhuler (Cell Press, 2010) from the University of St. Andrews in
Scotland noted that the reason for the differences in tools was that chimpanzees resorted to preexisting
cultural knowledge in trying to solve the novel task and that culture helped them in dealing with this
novel problem. The behaviors were specific to each population that they developed through social

Art Criticism Of The Gold Lustreware Bowl By Galileo Chini

Arte della Ceramica Fontebuoni, Florence. Museo Galileo Chini, Borgo San lorenzo.
The gold lustreware bowl by Galileo Chini is an object which could seem on first glance devoid of
special significance: just a beautiful decorative object enjoyed at face value. (Fig.1) But in the
seeming void I saw a repository of layered meanings which I attempted to interpret by examining the
artistic cross cultural influences in Florence in the late nineteenth century. And to address the question
of why the Mediaeval Hispano Moresque gold lustreware and the design motifs of the Gothic
Revivalist repertoires were found on this bowl. I examine why Chini became inspired to use these
designs and what they may have meant to him.

their clients saw themselves reflected by these golden objects. ... Show more content on

The Theory Of American Exceptionalism
Mandisa Nickerson
POL 2001
May 20, 2015
Final Paper: Question 2 The theory of American Exceptionalism has been around for decades and
outlines what makes the United States so unique based on our governmental structure and our
willingness to defend accordingly. Recently, there have multiple claims that America is not the
superpower it once was based on its unwillingness to become involved in many foreign affairs. Many
believe that instead of America taking care of their responsibilities as the number one democratic
superpower, they are admitting defeat by not tackling these international issues. There have also been
multiple attacks on America s model of democracy and how even a democracy as strong and stable as
ours has encountered dilemmas amongst its economic, political and cultural sectors. American power
is being put into question and the idea of globalization either positively or negatively affecting this
power is up for debate. Based on Americas past disputes pertaining involvement in international
relations, Americas role in world affairs should continue to be less active. Getting involved will
eventually lead to weakening of democratic principles thus ending our exceptionalist nature and
moving us into declination. America s form of democracy is one of the most important reasons why
the United States remains the top superpower. Democracy is defined as a government by the people in
which the supreme power is vested in the people and exercised directly by them or by

Essay On The Superbug Challenge
With emerging technology, online learning is becoming progressively more popular. Cope and
Kalantzis (2010) emphasise how technology has transformed pedagogy in learning environments.
Learning is becoming increasingly ubiquitous and students are being encouraged to be a part of many
online learning modules. The program I undertook was smart science module known as The Superbug
Challenge . This module s intention was to teach students on how to develop science inquiry skills.
Science inquiry skills means that scientific practices are established. Some of these practices include:
asking questions, creating and carrying out investigations, analysing and interpreting data and
constructing explanations that show a conceptual understating of ... Show more content on

This could have been achieved in a number of ways. Not all students building their bacteria go down
the same pathway to kill the host. Students could use different ways to test out their hypothesis,
essentially demonstrating critical scientific inquiry skills (Wilcox, 2015) such as gathering relevant
data to test the hypothesis chosen.
The way I chose to kill the host was to use prior knowledge and knowledge built up from the previous
modules to gather as much information to allow me to predict the result of the hypothesis. The
students learn about antibiotic resistance, natural selection and a real life application example. There
are questions following the content. The hypothesis reads: If bacteria survive one application of an
antibiotic then it will survive another application of the same antibiotic. The bacteria illustrated below
(figure 1) identifies the characteristics chosen from the acquisition of knowledge from the modules
prior to this screen. For example, I added phagocyte slowing and killer toxin and a trait that improves
the environment by hurting the host. These traits were added as prior knowledge and information from
the modules contributed to choosing these. This is what the students will end up creating after learning
about the most favorable characteristics the superbug needs. They can then view the data and see how
many times the bacteria survive an application of antibiotics (Figure 2). Students can also compare
how mutated bacteria go against each other (Figure 3) teaching them how to analyse and interpret data
from their observations. For example, the red line shows it was the most resistant to the antibiotic,
lasting the longest. The next three screenshots illustrate

Reflection Paper On Engineering And Medicine
Today s lectures involved those of Mark McCready and Robert Stevenson. Mr. McCready s lesson
was centered around engineering for medicine. Mr. McCready s presentation gave a very broad
overview of the many different ways engineering and medicine are intertwined. Mr. Stevenson s
lecture was about Electrical Engineering, and went into a fair amount of depth on the field that he
specializes in, which is imagery. Both lectures gave a fair amount of information, one on a broad
spectrum of engineering, and another on a specific part of Electrical engineering. Mr. McCready s
presentation outlined how engineering benefits medicine in many ways. He began by talking about
how humans consume oxygen rather than other compounds to function. This is because aerobic
digestion is seventeen times more energetic than anaerobic digestion. We then said that the main
issues for humanity at the time are healthcare, energy, and the environment. Since engineers are
problem solvers, it is natural that engineers are working to advance healthcare and medicine.
Engineers have contributed new devices, better systems, ways to treat things, ways to regenerate
tissue, and increased understanding of diseases to medicine. We then talked about a few engineers
who have contributed a lot to medicine throughout the courses of their careers. Bob Langer, a
professor and researcher for MIT, helped develop skin replacement, as well as tissue engineering for

Study on Delhi
The lack of standard concepts in research is perhaps the most significant difficulty in the comparison
of results between studies.[1] In the running injury field, many researchers have noted the problem of
how to define a running related injury.[2 4] Some investigators have suggested the need for a
standardised definition of running related injury.[2, 5 7] However, a consensus has not yet been
reached; thus, researchers have used different definitions in their studies.[3, 8, 9]
Currently, the rates of prevalence and incidence of running injuries vary between 19% and 92%,
depending on the injury definition adopted in the study. This means that the lack of standardisation of
injury definitions may affect study results.[2, 3, 5, 9 15] For instance, Bovens, et al. [16] used a broad
definition of running related injury as any physical complaint developed in relation with running
activities and causing restriction in running distance, speed, duration or frequency ; they found an
injury incidence of 84.9%. On the other hand, Blair, et al. [17] adopted a more stringent definition of
running related injury as an injury that causes the runners to stop running for at least seven days ; they
found a lower injury incidence of 24%. The higher rate of injury found in the first study may be due to
the lack of a specific period of interruption or time off from running in the definition used, in contrast
to the definition used in the second study, which clearly specifies the period of

The Unification Of Innocence And Experience
The Unification of Innocence and Experience
Many peer reviewed sources believe it is essential to understand the historical contexts of William
Blake s lifetime in order to accurately interpret Songs of Innocence and of Experience (Blake 23). I
present opposing questions to this theory: (1) why is it necessary to try and adopt a perceptional
adaptation of Blake s historical perspective in order to comprehend and interpret his work; (3) is
Songs of Innocence and of Experience a timeless work of art that remains relevant two hundred and
twenty one years after its initial publication as a compilation; (4) what remains when all historical
contexts are eliminated from the analysis of Songs? If Blake only wants his readers to understand his
personal viewpoint of Songs, relative to the historical context in which it was written, perhaps he
would have published an analytical companion to Songs. Embracing William Blake s non conformist
ways, I choose to explore the timelessness of Innocence and Experience by excluding the majority of
historical and political information from my interpretations (Roberts 4). It is my goal to focus this
paper on poems from Songs of Innocence and Songs of Experience that share the same title I believe
this will reveal the parallels between the natures of innocence and experience. Additionally, I will
explore the basic philosophical concepts Blake infuses into his poetry; as well as extract the general
themes, concepts, and imagery of Songs of

Literary Analysis Of Plato s The Myth Of The Cave
The writing is, overall, a dialogue which is dominated in arguments by one of those who dialogues:
Plato, who is not mentioned explicitly in the conversation taking place, however, he is the writer of the
piece, and historically known as the character that is steering the message on it. Plato develops during
the progress of the story an analogy, where he pictures slaves being only exposed to a limited reality
of shadows inside a cave, when one of them is liberated to the outside of the cavern, facing realism
and opening his comprehension, his former partners question his mental stability thinking he was
affected by what he saw after his freedom. Plato as the author of the piece, and as the character
narrating the analogy, is trying to explain the incomprehension suffered by the philosopher, putting the
philosopher as the inquisitive being who discovers reality, experiencing the disapproval of the non
philosopher world: the slaves.
The essay The Myth of the Cave by Plato is well written because of his utterly original structure
which does not follow a classic flow, because the piece flows smoothly between the conversation of
Plato and his interlocutor and the myth being narrated on Plato s parts, one does not realize this
unusual structure is implemented to deliver the message exquisitely.
The general purpose of the piece is not seen until the intermediate paragraphs when Plato says: ...The
prison house is the world of sight, the light of the fire is the sun, and you will

Reflection On A Long Way Gone By Ishmael Beah
When I first learned that Convocation was going to be an award ceremony with the writer of our
summer reading book, A Long Way Gone by Ishmael Beah, giving a speech, I did not think I would
like the event. I had only read a little of the book written by speaker, and I thought he was only going
to address the topics and situations that occurred in the novel. While I did almost nod off during the
part of the Convocation were they gave out awards, I appreciated everything else. As a writer of
poetry myself, I really enjoyed the poem written and read by the Professor of Creative Writing and at
first believed it was going to be the only highlight of the whole experience, but I was wrong.
To my surprise the best part of Convocation was listening

Patient Safety And The Medical Errors
In today s fast paced healthcare environment, patient safety as well as healthcare quality has become a
major priority. A growing focus on patient safety and the increasing medical errors has made various
healthcare management teams more proactive in identifying and preventing potential risks for patients.
While a great deal of progress has been made in recognizing most medical errors, it is also important
to note that in a healthcare environment there are a number of factors involved, therefore the strategies
used to reduce them vary as well. So, despite a healthcare provider s overall reputation, experience,
skills or knowledge in the healthcare field, there is always a slight possibility for a medical error to
take place, similar to our case of Mrs. Jonesky and Samantha Jones. Root Cause Analysis Definition
According to Dattilo and Constantino (2006), The most fundamental reason for the failure or
inefficiency of a process, in any work setting even the healthcare environment, is referred to as a root
cause . Root cause analysis (RCA) is the tedious process under which the healthcare providers take a
step back and analyze their potential mistakes, adverse events, or sentinel events in the operating room
and all areas of healthcare (Croteau, 2003). The primary goal of RCA is to overcome their mistakes, in
order to prevent future risks or damages caused to their patients. According to The Joint Commission,
most RCA is expected to take place within a 45 days limit, after

Analysis Of To My Dear And Loving Husband
Title In the poem To My Dear and Loving Husband written by Anne Bradstreet, the authors purpose of
writing is to emphasize the love and affection she has for her husband. The author composes six
rhyming couplets in a simple 12 line poem that conveys her devotion to her spouse. Anne wrote this
poem in the first person point of view as she uses the word, I. This piece of literature was published in
the year 1678. Bradstreet has achieved the purpose of communicating her feelings throughout the
poem using the literary elements of themes in her role of the women and conjugal love through
imagery, language, and metaphors.
To appreciate Anne Bradstreet s letters and poetry, it is important to address the background, time,
place, and gender of this author. Anne Bradstreet broke barriers and became, ...the most prominent of
early English poets of North America and first writer in England s North American colonies...
(Wikipedia) Her family was in a better position than most of the Puritans in that time. Her father,
Christian and wealthy Puritan Leader Thomas Dudley, assured: ...that she received an education
superior to that of most young women of the time. (Norton 110) She wrote many poems in forms of
letters about her husband, children and grandchildren which portrayed her as a Puritan woman. She
was married at the age of sixteen to colonial Governor Simon Bradstreet and had eight children.

Comparing Frances Zefferilli’s Hamlet and Shakespeare’s...
Comparing Frances Zefferilli s Hamlet and Shakespeare s Hamlet
I believe Frances Zefferilli s version of Shakespeare s Hamlet, made in 1990, is one of the best
versions of the play to be put onto screen. The film, starring Mel Gibson as Hamlet, and Glen Close as
Queen Gertrude, takes a different look to the play. Zefferilli explores the physiological stability of
Hamlet very well, especially in Act 3, Scene 4. My interpretation of that scene in the text was different
to the one given in the movie.
After reading the scene, I had the notion that Hamlet was already quite confused he had just come out
of a scene where he could have killed the king, but his blunted purpose gets in the way. The killing of
Polonius in the text gave me ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He just continues on. He isn t put off because he had such high hopes that it would be the king, so
instead of being sad about the murder of his trusted councillor, he is merely disappointed that it had to
be Polonius calling for help instead of the king.
This part of the scene is presented a bit differently in the movie. When Hamlet enters, you can really
tell that he has gone mad. He is sad one minute, the next minute he ll give out an almighty roar.
Zefferilli has used the scenes surrounding this one to make it seem important. In some of the versions
they didn t have the near death of Claudious the scene before. I think having this scene beforehand
sets you up for Hamlet s confrontation with his mother.
You can really tell that both Hamlet and Gertrude are affected by Hamlet s insanity. Both of them
appear to cry for most of the scene. The whole scene is a sharing of emotions. The kiss is a connection
between them both, rather than a lust they both have for any sexual contact. They needed to connect
physically in some way, after all they are mother and son.
When the ghost of Hamlet s father enters, Hamlet is eager to find out what he has to say. The ghost
suggests that Hamlet talks to his mother but Gertrude still believes that he has lost his sanity, Alas,
how is t with you? . In the movie the ghost appears to be a real person, not a see through character like
the other movies depict. This is done to cause the allusion that Hamlet s father is still

Chipotle Supply And Demand
Whenever the term economics come up the two terms that seem to be put together are supply and
demand. Supply and demand is the amount of a commodity, product, or service available and the
desire of buyers for it considered as factors for regulating its price. This concept is important, because
without it producers don t know how much of their product to make and what to price it at. Chipotle a
Mexican grill is an establishment that has been open since 1933. This was a small business until
McDonalds became an investor in their company in 1998 and their was no looking back from then.
Their expansion was rapid leaving more room for mistakes. This Mexican grill was quite popular until
it had a fall out with a contaminate in their meat in December of 2015. The contaminate that was
found was E.coli. E.coli is a powerful contaminate and has the power to kill someone. Chipotle had
several outbreaks where their meat was contaminated and as a result that caused customers to not want
to go their in fear of being contaminated. The supply was their, but the demand for the food quickly
plummeted causing the company to lose lots of profit. As a result the company has been spending
millions to try and regain their customers. Supply and demand is a concept that is very important for
the development of any company; to maximize sales you must have plenty of both with supply having
enough product to sell, and demand being the customer base that has been built.
E. Coli is a serious contaminate

Liliputians In Mark Twain s Gulliver
In the beginning the reader believe the people of Liliput are kind and gentle people. Though they tie
Gulliver up they treat him with with kindness and respect. They bring him food and drink and give
him his freedom. There requests seem reasonable and they give him no cause to be suspicious of them.
The emperor himself treats Gulliver like a friend. Later on though, the reader s opinion of the people
of Liliput most likely change as there true colors are revealed. The main things that would change the
reader s mind are the emperor s order to destroy the fleet of Blefuscu, the sentence of putting Gulliver

punishments were public urination, refusing to seize the ships even though it was a direct order from

Summary Of The Novel White Fang
The novel White Fang was written by Jack London in 1906. The well known book is a realistic fiction
story. Although the novel is fiction, the author based the book on his own life experiences. White Fang
takes place in the 1890 s; it was set in past Canadian territories during the Klondike Gold Rush.
Weather conditions were harsh and deadly, considering that temperatures most likely never exceeded
zero degrees fahrenheit. The novel was written in third person point of view, which is mainly
presenting the way White Fang experiences life. The point of view helps the reader understand the
story because it shows how a wild dog comes into the rough world and goes through jurassic life
obstacles.
The protagonist of the novel White Fang is a wild dog named White Fang. After being separated from
his mother, White Fang was put through many harsh environments. He learned how to fight for
himself, and he also learned how to take advantage of power. In the North, it is not easy to obtain
survival skills; however, White Fang quickly developed them. The dog was born into the savage
world, in which he conquered every challenge that came his way.
White Fang included several different antagonists throughout the novel. One antagonist that White
Fang encountered was Lip lip. Lip lip was a wild dog that had a strong hatred towards White Fang; he
even encouraged all the dogs at the Indian Camp to turn against him. Lip lip constantly wanted to
make sure White Fang was not successful in

Double Helix Research Paper
Francis Crick asked, Well, what do you observe? It was then in late January 1953 that we made the
discovery. My heart was racing, I knew that this picture that Crick held up in his hand, now known as
photo 51, was the key that led to the discovery, the discovery that revolutionized science and changed
it into a state that it had never seen before. The photo, though still grainy, was the best we saw and
portrayed a diffraction pattern of DNA that would forever revolutionize science. This is the best proof
that DNA exists in a double helix structure, though it only shows it qualitatively. I responded. It had
long been a mystery at how DNA, or deoxyribonucleic acid, was regarded, and how it was able to
perform actions, like translating, replicating, etc. on a large scale with minimal error. This was just the
spark that we needed to finally comprehend the structure of DNA. Not long after, Crick and I ... Show

felt so long ago. I made sure to include everyone that participated in this discovery in this book,

the project, and I also owned up to my wrongdoings towards her in the past. As I read my draft a final

Introduction
To be profitable, companies must not only earn revenues, but also control costs. If costs are too high,
profit margins will be too low, making it difficult for a company to succeed against its competitors. In
the case of a public company, if costs are too high, the company s may find that its share price is
depressed and that it is difficult to attract investors.
This report focuses on the corporate cost control strategies and tries to fulfill a few objectives such as

Human Capital Costs:
One of the most important resources is the human resource and this needs to be managed properly to
ensure better cost controlling. Low productivity and high turnover cost employers two to three times
more than insurance premiums and medical claims. A new paradigm for managing human capital costs
can reduce these indirect expenses to benefit both employer and employee. There can be various ways
to control these costs as Outsourcing payroll processing, Telecommuting and virtual offices,
Professional employer organizations etc.

The Giver Word Analysis
In the Giver the community has many weirdly spoken words. These words can mean many things, but
to the community these words are nothing out of the ordinary. Everyone there is used to hearing these
words and is not startled by them. In the real world an average person would have no idea what some
of these words mean. For example Stirrings, comfort object, and Nurturer. In these strange peoples
community these are everyday words, but to ordinary people, they are very odd. Stirrings is very
serious in the community, so is being a Nurturer. Every living child in the community is given a
comfort item until the age of eight. Although, having a comfort item is not that unusual like the other
two words, most children have items they go to sleep with every night. These three words from the
book are routine words to the community. One of the routine words for the community is Stirrings.
Stirrings for the community occurs to everyone at some point in their days. Stirrings occur around
twelve years old, normally after the Ceremony of Twelve. Each child has a mysterious dream that they

Battle Of Bastogne Essay
The battle of Bastogne was fought at a Belgium town called Bastogne between American Forces and
the Nazi German Forces during World War II. The initial attack of the battle started on 15 December,
1944 which led to a siege from 20 to 27 December 1944. The fighting eventually ended on 17 January,
1945. The battle was part of a larger Campaign called the Battle of the Bulge when Adolf Hitler and
the Nazi German launched an offensive campaign in order to recapture strategic areas for their
advantage against Allied Forces. Allied Forces were across Europe very quickly after the successful
landing in Normandy, capturing German territories and steadily pushing the Nazi Forces back to

My Introduction to the Legal Process Class Essay
On Tuesday the 28th of February our Introduction to the Legal Process class went to the Maine
Legislature and had the chance to meet some Representatives and Senators that we had contacted
previously. We had studied lobbying and how to effectively lobby a bill beforehand, and met with the
officials we had contacted individually. This is some information that could help you lobby a bill in
the Maine legislature. I was assigned four representatives and one senator to contact beforehand, and it
is essential to do this early. With the massive amount of emails and calls an official gets in a day, it is
easy to get lost in the crowd. Many legislators will not contact you back due to their busy schedule. I
only received responses from two of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
That means you need to research on the bill you are presenting, and why this bill was created. You
should also know the legislator you are lobbying to. One of my representatives, Gay Grant, was a co
sponsor on the Ocean Acidification I was presenting so she was more familiar with the bill than my
other representative. The other, Kim Monaghan Derrig, was on the Workforce and Job committee so I
had to tailor how I lobbied the bill to talk about how it would affect jobs in Maine. Doing research on
the person you are lobbying to can make your case stronger by making it personal. It is also good to
memorize the face of the official you are meeting so you can find them in a crowd. I had studied the
faces of my representatives before meeting them, but I still didn t recognize Rep. Derrig until she
came up to me and asked if she knew where she could find Tyler amongst our group of students.
Being prepared also means bringing the right materials. Wearing formal clothing is usually required
for entering political buildings, and it also sets the tone for how serious you are about the time this
person is setting aside for you and the bill you are trying to present. In the Maine Legislature it is a
little more lax, but you should still dress respectfully when lobbying. Beyond clothes, bringing hard
copies of the bill and an informational page on the bill you are lobbying that gives the key points of

Some players go to work every day to earn money whereas some cheat and find alternatives to working hard to become wealthy. Majority of these cheaters play money making schemes on those who have worked hard and countless hours for their money. There have been many people affected by countless amounts of schemes in the past. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... So what is the Ponzi scheme? (Article) The Ponzi scheme today is seen as fraudulent investment operation. It all starts with a central operator who promises investors incredible returns that cannot be found in the market today, convincing the investor that they use secret trading techniques that work. Early investors are eventually given the promised returns which are paid for with the investment of later investors. In reality there is no actual business and no profit produced, the whole operation consist of only invested money minus a cut for the man or women running the scam. Early investors who are unaware of the scam are very satisfied with their returns and encourage friends and family to invest with the Ponzi operator, the word spreads like wildfire. It is for that reason that the scammer does not need to advertise. In the case of Charlie Ponzi, he was able to promise investors at the time a shocking return of 50 percent in only 90 days. • 3. Interviewing a Friend Humans are complex and intricate beings. They think, behave and look different. They are different in their personalities and attitudes; and their way of thinking and behaving also differ. I have found in my experience that the best way to know others is to interact and to socialize. My life has been filled with lots of people with whom I have interacted and who have taught me a valuable lesson. When thinking of people that I have come across in my life, I thought of interviewing one of my classmates from English class. I got an opportunity to interview my classmate Mr. Nabaraj Kandel. One of those was the cultural shock that we experienced in the United States. Besides, both of us seem to have more or less same kind of experiences in the United States. We talked about our visit to cities like Atlanta, Dallas, New Orleans. We also discussed about our interest in sports and music. It was really a good conversation. But there was one thing about which we had different opinions. And it was all about politics. I don t get involved in politics. I like to stay away from it. But he likes politics. He likes writing articles on social and political issues. I feel his opinion is very true in his sense. I hate politics because most of the politicians in our country are corrupt and work for their own benefits. I had a great time interviewing Nabaraj. I am glad that I got an opportunity to talk to someone who is an international student like me and is from my own country, Nepal. The interview with him made me realize that I should really need to work on some of the principles of his life. I would also suggest other people that I come across in my life to follow these ... ASDs account for 10% of all congenital heart defects(19) and 30% of those diagnosed in adulthood (20). Definitive diagnosis is by transthoracic echocardiography, though signs of an ASD can be found on physical examination, electrocardiography and chest radiography (21). There are four types of ASD, classified according to their position in the interatrial septum (Figure 2): Ostium secundum defects which represent 80% of all ASDs and are located in the region of the fossa ovalis Ostium primum defects which are located in the lower portion of the septum, adjacent to the atrioventricular (AV) valve Sinus venosus defects which are located at the junction of the superior/inferior caval veins Coronary sinus defects. These are caused by a left to right shunt, when the connection between the two atria allows blood to pass from the left side of the heart to the right. This occurs because the pressure in the left side of the heart is naturally higher than the right. The extra blood from the left atrium overloads the right atrium and the right ventricle, causing right heart dilation, and subsequent heart failure (5). If left untreated, patients can develop reversal of the ASD, resulting in a right to left shunt; this is known as Eisenmenger s syndrome. Other complications include atrial tachyarrhythmias or stroke (21, 22). A patient is indicated for closure if they experience symptoms, irrespective of age, to reduce subsequent morbidity and mortality (21). To reduce this risk, closure should be considered in patients at risk of a paradoxical embolism, such as patients undergoing pacemaker implantation or professional divers (5, ... Without any hesitation, my mother who is a nurse practitioner fell to her knees and started CPR. It took two unbearable hours for an ambulance to arrive they were completely unprepared. • 8. What Factors Contributed To The Civil War INTERNATIONAL AFFAIRS Strengthening U.S. Foreign Power and Influence The Union defeat of the Confederacy resulted in a strengthened U.S. government, which led to the defeat of the French in Mexico, the confederation of Canada in 1867, and the purchase of the Alaskan territory. After the fall of the Confederacy, U.S. leaders were able to deploy troops to the Texas Mexico border to help resist the French intervention in Mexico. This pressure, combined with Mexican resentment, led to the French Emperor Napoleon II to abandon his quest for Mexico. Meanwhile in the North, Canadian politicians feared a resurgence of the U.S., and some U.S. politicians called for the annexation of the British North American territory. This led the Canadians to ... The Civil War was the result of basic differences between the free and slave states. After Abraham Lincoln was elected President in 1860, vowing to keep slavery out of the territories, seven states from the South seceded from the Union and established their own nation. Lincoln and most of the people from the North refused to recognize this new nation as being separate from the U.S. The war was triggered at Fort Sumter near Charleston, South Carolina, when the Confederate Army claimed this U.S. fort as their own on April 12, 1861. They forced the federal troops there to lower the American flag and surrender. President Lincoln sent U.S. forces there to try to suppress the Confederates. An additional four states seceded to join the Confederacy. March Book One and Two by John Lewis, Andrew Aydin, and Nate Powell describes John Lewis introduction to the inequality and his work during the Civil Rights Movement. The story is told by Lewis personal accounts and images, which provides an unique reading for the audience. March: Book One and Two depicts the process of how John Lewis starts to become aware of the actions against the African Americans and it follows with the protests he was involved in. Throughout the two books, the chickens stood out the most (p. 23). John Lewis connection to the chickens really encompasses the whole point of African Americans efforts, by showing that ... Trauma In Haiti Sociology When compared to the living standards of people in so called first world countries such as the United States of America or Australia, the trauma that the people of Haiti undergo in their everyday existence should be universally recognised, and humanitarian intervention should not be an option but rather a requirement. In an ethnography delving into the violence and trauma affecting the citizens of Haiti (James, 2010), anthropologist Erica Caple James provides an in depth description of the suffering that Haitians endure, as well as the consequences of their social, physical, and psychological oppression. Humanitarian intervention in Haiti was deemed necessary, specifically by the United States of America, in order to free Haitians from the oppression faced daily and attempt to provide a society in which each individual gained back their agency without threat of sexual, physical, or mental violence. The most varied range of topics, concepts and theories is around the strategies. The objective of the essay is a critical review of the article Hustle as the strategy by Amar Bhide. First of all, it will look into the position of the article in the broader debate on strategies. Secondly, it will examine the suppositions and theoretical bases of the article. It will then assess the strengths and weaknesses of the viewpoints presented in this article. And lastly, author s personal thoughts on strategy will be terminated alongside the conclusion of the entire essay. Position in the broader strategy of the debate Amar Bhide applies hustle as a strategy for the organisation to succeed in the market. He contradicts the role of the strategic planning or long term development strategy and at the same time puts emphasise on the role of the operation and super execution (Bhide, 1984). This position is in the wider debates on the competition verses Performance view, Prescriptive verses Emergent view and Positioning approach verses Resource based View (RBV). It is important to be critical in evaluating the results of these studies because behaviors in artificial situations or captivity will be different than in the wild. Animals are likely to act differently when they are not in their natural environment. Behaviors will vary and the long lasting effects of the behaviors may not be visible (Lalaland, 2003). The next study regarding primates was seen in 2010 while observing wild chimpanzees in Uganda, with cultural differences between two populations in different areas. The chimpanzees displayed different ways of utilizing tools around them to retrieve honey within the fallen logs around them. The Kibale Forest chimps used sticks while the Budongo Forest chimps utilized leaves sponges that were made from chewed leaves. To study the differences, researchers provided the monkeys with a task to retrieve honey out of an apparatus. Each group resorted to behaviors that they had been familiar with in the beginning, those from Kibale using sticks and Budongo resorting to leave sponges (Cell Press, 2010). Klause Zuberhuler (Cell Press, 2010) from the University of St. Andrews in Scotland noted that the reason for the differences in tools was that chimpanzees resorted to preexisting cultural knowledge in trying to solve the novel task and that culture helped them in dealing with this novel problem. The Theory Of American Exceptionalism Mandisa Nickerson POL 2001 May 20, 2015 Final Paper: Question 2 The theory of American Exceptionalism has been around for decades and outlines what makes the United States so unique based on our governmental structure and our willingness to defend accordingly. Recently, there have multiple claims that America is not the superpower it once was based on its unwillingness to become involved in many foreign affairs. Many believe that instead of America taking care of their responsibilities as the number one democratic superpower, they are admitting defeat by not tackling these international issues. There have also been multiple attacks on America s model of democracy and how even a democracy as strong and stable as ours has encountered dilemmas amongst its economic, political and cultural sectors. American power is being put into question and the idea of globalization either positively or negatively affecting this power is up for debate. Based on Americas past disputes pertaining involvement in international relations, Americas role in world affairs should continue to be less active. Getting involved will eventually lead to weakening of democratic principles thus ending our exceptionalist nature and moving us into declination. • 20. Reflection Paper On Engineering And Medicine Today s lectures involved those of Mark McCready and Robert Stevenson. Mr. McCready s lesson was centered around engineering for medicine. Mr. McCready s presentation gave a very broad overview of the many different ways engineering and medicine are intertwined. Mr. Stevenson s lecture was about Electrical Engineering, and went into a fair amount of depth on the field that he specializes in, which is imagery. Both lectures gave a fair amount of information, one on a broad spectrum of engineering, and another on a specific part of Electrical engineering. Mr. McCready s presentation outlined how engineering benefits medicine in many ways. He began by talking about how humans consume oxygen rather than other compounds to function. This is because aerobic digestion is seventeen times more energetic than anaerobic digestion. We then said that the main issues for humanity at the time are healthcare, energy, and the environment. Since engineers are problem solvers, it is natural that engineers are working to advance healthcare and medicine. Engineers have contributed new devices, better systems, ways to treat things, ways to regenerate tissue, and increased understanding of diseases to medicine. We then talked about a few engineers who have contributed a lot to medicine throughout the courses of their careers. • 21. Study on Delhi The lack of standard concepts in research is perhaps the most significant difficulty in the comparison of results between studies.[1] In the running injury field, many researchers have noted the problem of how to define a running related injury.[2 4] Some investigators have suggested the need for a standardised definition of running related injury.[2, 5 7] However, a consensus has not yet been reached; thus, researchers have used different definitions in their studies.[3, 8, 9] Currently, the rates of prevalence and incidence of running injuries vary between 19% and 92%, depending on the injury definition adopted in the study. This means that the lack of standardisation of injury definitions may affect study results.[2, 3, 5, 9 15] For instance, Bovens, et al. [16] used a broad definition of running related injury as any physical complaint developed in relation with running activities and causing restriction in running distance, speed, duration or frequency ; they found an injury incidence of 84.9%. On the other hand, Blair, et al. [17] adopted a more stringent definition of running related injury as an injury that causes the runners to stop running for at least seven days ; they found a lower injury incidence of 24%. The higher rate of injury found in the first study may be due to the lack of a specific period of interruption or time off from running in the definition used, in contrast to the definition used in the second study, which clearly specifies the period of ... The Unification Of Innocence And Experience The Unification of Innocence and Experience Many peer reviewed sources believe it is essential to understand the historical contexts of William Blake s lifetime in order to accurately interpret Songs of Innocence and of Experience (Blake 23). I present opposing questions to this theory: (1) why is it necessary to try and adopt a perceptional adaptation of Blake s historical perspective in order to comprehend and interpret his work; (3) is Songs of Innocence and of Experience a timeless work of art that remains relevant two hundred and twenty one years after its initial publication as a compilation; (4) what remains when all historical contexts are eliminated from the analysis of Songs? If Blake only wants his readers to understand his personal viewpoint of Songs, relative to the historical context in which it was written, perhaps he would have published an analytical companion to Songs. Embracing William Blake s non conformist ways, I choose to explore the timelessness of Innocence and Experience by excluding the majority of historical and political information from my interpretations (Roberts 4). It is my goal to focus this paper on poems from Songs of Innocence and Songs of Experience that share the same title I believe this will reveal the parallels between the natures of innocence and experience. Plato develops during the progress of the story an analogy, where he pictures slaves being only exposed to a limited reality of shadows inside a cave, when one of them is liberated to the outside of the cavern, facing realism and opening his comprehension, his former partners question his mental stability thinking he was affected by what he saw after his freedom. Plato as the author of the piece, and as the character narrating the analogy, is trying to explain the incomprehension suffered by the philosopher, putting the philosopher as the inquisitive being who discovers reality, experiencing the disapproval of the non philosopher world: the slaves. The essay The Myth of the Cave by Plato is well written because of his utterly original structure which does not follow a classic flow, because the piece flows smoothly between the conversation of Plato and his interlocutor and the myth being narrated on Plato s parts, one does not realize this unusual structure is implemented to deliver the message exquisitely. The film, starring Mel Gibson as Hamlet, and Glen Close as Queen Gertrude, takes a different look to the play. Zefferilli explores the physiological stability of Hamlet very well, especially in Act 3, Scene 4. My interpretation of that scene in the text was different to the one given in the movie. This is some information that could help you lobby a bill in the Maine legislature. I was assigned four representatives and one senator to contact beforehand, and it is essential to do this early. With the massive amount of emails and calls an official gets in a day, it is easy to get lost in the crowd. Many legislators will not contact you back due to their busy schedule. I only received responses from two of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... That means you need to research on the bill you are presenting, and why this bill was created. You should also know the legislator you are lobbying to. One of my representatives, Gay Grant, was a co sponsor on the Ocean Acidification I was presenting so she was more familiar with the bill than my other representative. The other, Kim Monaghan Derrig, was on the Workforce and Job committee so I had to tailor how I lobbied the bill to talk about how it would affect jobs in Maine. Doing research on the person you are lobbying to can make your case stronger by making it personal. It is also good to memorize the face of the official you are meeting so you can find them in a crowd. I had studied the faces of my representatives before meeting them, but I still didn t recognize Rep. Derrig until she came up to me and asked if she knew where she could find Tyler amongst our group of students. Being prepared also means bringing the right materials. Wearing formal clothing is usually required for entering political buildings, and it also sets the tone for how serious you are about the time this person is setting aside for you and the bill you are trying to present.
