The passage of the Rail Passenger Service Act in 1970 led to the formation of the National Railroad
Passenger Corporation (Amtrak), and the railroads were given the opportunity to divest their
passenger rail service and focus on freight service. A second boon to the railroad industry occurred in
1980 with the passage of the Staggers Act. The Staggers Act significantly reduced the ability of the
Interstate Commerce Commission to regulate shipping rates, allowed the railroads to divest
unprofitable lines, and legalized railroad shipper contracts. The combined results of these two major
legislative policy actions were to revive what was a failing railroad industry. In fact, the Government
Accountability Office (GAO) has twice been asked by shippers to investigate freight railroad shipping

Explained Behavior In The Classroom
After studying the chart in Chapter 8, I was able to recall many situations where students have
demonstrated some of the explained behaviors. One typical behavior that I see not only in my
classroom, but in my school, is students arguing loudly with teachers. According to Payne, students

I Am A Normal Human Being
First and foremost, I believe that I am a normal human being. I don t consider myself to be out of the
ordinary except for my love of Prince, but if you don t like Prince or his music, can you even call
yourself a human? I digress, I thought that going into this assignment I would find out more
interesting things about myself, however, I learned quickly that that wasn t really the case. See, what
was interesting to me was very boring and weird to others, especially my friends that aren t in theater.
When I would go up to them and explain the new things that I am doing, they would kind of just look
at me and secretly judge, but it also let me know that I was enjoying learning more about myself.
All my life I knew that I was flexible jointed and that I could do a lot of things such as putting my leg
over my head and interlocking my arms and moving them all around my body without breaking that
lock, but I also discovered that I could do other things without even noticing them. For instance, I tend
to bounce my knee whenever I am really into a story that I am telling, but also whenever I am really
passionate about something. Another thing that I noticed is that when I sit, I sway from side to side or
front to back, but I just have to be in motion. It s just something that allows me to burn off the extra
energy that is within me. I think that all the little things I do, such as leading with my left foot and

Butler was accused of sadistically murdering Natasha Douty who was found beaten to death on
Brampton Island in 1983. Wayne Butler was vacationing on Brampton Island during the timeframe of
the murder; however, claimed to be jogging during this time. After submitting a blood test, Butler was
eliminated as a suspect. However, Butler was arrested in 2001 for this murder because semen, which
was found on the towel at the crime scene, was found to be a match. The John Tonge Centre
performed a DNA test on the evidence on the towel. Butler was found innocent after it was identified
that the John Tonge Centre mislabeled the test tubes containing the crime scene evidence. ( DNA
Evidence ) This case proves that DNA testing may not be as reliable as we think.
No two people, except identical twins, have identical DNA sequences, which makes DNA testing
appealing to law enforcement. Two types of DNA testing include short tandem repeat and variable

There are many threats today that can compromise the security of a network. Network security is now
more important as ever as attacks on networks that hold valuable information are being breached, even
with security measures put in place. One of the biggest threats to a network is data theft. Outside
