Dowbt Of Future Foes
It is clear that there is a prominent struggle in the balance of power between the monarch and the
subject that is represented in the two early modern texts of the play Edward II by the playwright
Christopher Marlowe and the poem The dowbt of future foes exiles my present joye by Queen
Elizabeth. Each monarch in each text is losing support from their once loyal followers and subjects by
intertwining public responsibility and personal desire. In this essay I will use these texts to
demonstrate the monarch s power struggles as a result of their subjects. I will also use secondary
sources of criticism to confirm the points that are made in this essay. Firstly, I will analyse the poem

It is also the nobles, especially Mortimer Senior and Mortimer Junior. The nobles see Gaveston as an
inappropriate preoccupation for the King which leads to his authority and the balance of power being
fragile. His preoccupation with Gaveston has lead to the King think of nothing but Gaveston (2.2.7)
and still his mind runs on his minion (2.2.4). King Edward s struggle to balance power has lead to the
weakening of the army and therefore England is at threat to foreign invasion. In the words of critic
David Stymeist in the text the Status, Sodomy, and the Theater in Marlowe s Edward II , Christopher
Marlowe dramatizes the history of the English King who is accused of allowing his homoeroticism to
take precedence over his political and social obligations (P 235). Many critics have claimed that this
play is a play of sodomy. However if we look at the Oxford English Dictionary, sodomy is defined as
any form of sexual intercourse considered to be unnatural. Now chiefly: anal intercourse (OED).
There is no evidence in the play that confirms that both King Edward and Gaveston had any form of
sexual intimacy. However, critic Mario DiGangi writes in the text Marlowe, Queer Studies and
Renaissance Homoeroticism that Sodomite meant more than a man who has sex within another man .
The label also meant that this particular man was treasonous, monstrous,

Abdominal Pain Case Studies
Chief Complaint: The patient complains of dysuria and some abdominal pain for the past 3 days
History of Present Illness: N. T is a five year old uncircumcised male who was in his usual state of
good health, now he presents with a complaint of dysuria and some abdominal pain for the past 3
days. The mother also reports high fever in the last 24 hours. It is crucial for NP to collect important
subjective information following the seven attributes of symptoms to help guide the interview
systematically (Swartz, 2014). This will aid to rule out acute condition requiring aggressive treatment
(Dains et al., 2016). Since the patient is only five year old the mother would be the main historian,
however, whenever is appropriate the child should also be included in the interview (Swartz, 2014).
Pertinent information the NP should obtain include, when did the pain during urination started? Does
it hurts only during urination? When did the abdominal pain started? Does the pain radiate? The
patient can point the areas where he feels pain. Is it painful all the time? When does the pain go away?
Additionally, aggravating ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
History of constipation? Constipation may predispose the patient to UTI due to bladder pressure
caused by the stool mass (Dains et al., 2016). Is there any recent streptococcal infection within the last

the patient drink plenty of fluids? Concentrated urine may irritate the urinary tract mucosa and may
cause dysuria (Dains et al., 2016). Are you taking any prescribed medication, OTC, herbal remedies?
Any Allergies to medications, environmental allergens, or food intolerance? Furthermore, history of

Reflection Paper On Selfishness
ME ME ME How does this help me? Wait what do I get out of this Of course I deserve it I want it I
need it Just give it to me, said Erin Ronald. This quote describes selfishness because it is the contrary
of generosity and solidarity, and the excess of love to oneself and the lack of group values. Knowing
the world, is essential for a person s life. Many times, we do not understand how a society works, how
people work, how our life goes, how the present goes, etc. As a result of all of them, we can
experience certain anguish that appears when it wants but with relatively frequency, such as: Why do I
do what I do? Am I happy? Who I am? For all of these I have proposed to write this philosophical
paper about what I believe the causes are and what might help to accommodate the selfishness we are
facing now in New York City. Survival, cultural and parental influence, and manners are the causes
why people in this city are selfish. It would be difficult to change our society with this paper, but I
believe that this reflection is the best method to redirect a life from all areas and ages.
People are just not born being selfish, they become selfish by a factor. One of the factors can be when
people become selfish when they have to act fast in a life or death situation in order to survive.
Suppose we change the Kohlberg s example about Heinz, there is only one pill in the world that has
the potential to save your friend and yourself s life. Who do you think deserves the pill? According to
Aristotle, friendship is one of the virtues necessary for living well, and an essential aspect of a life of
happiness and morality, the friendship of good men is good, being augmented by their companionship;
and they are thought to become better by their activities and by improving each other (1172a). A good
man is interested in doing good to others and when it is about a friend could forget about himself. I
agree that Aristotle s theory about friendship could make satisfy the humanity s necessities, if all men
were virtuosos. Doing good is beneficial for both, the one who practices and who receives it. People
become selfish when they have to face the live or death situation because people have an instinct to

Nutrition Intake Log Analysis
Nutrition Intake Log Over the period of three day I kept a food record to analyze my nutrient intake.
Keeping this food log allowed me to see what and how much nutrients I was getting from the foods I
was consuming. I quickly realized that I had been missing out on some key nutrients, vitamins, and
minerals needed for a healthy life style. Without analyzing your intake, it is hard to see what nutrients
you are getting and if you are getting enough of them. This food record allowed me to see how I can
better improve my diet and achieve a healthier lifestyle.
Nutrients and Minerals I am 20 years old, five feet eleven inches, and I weight about 205 pounds. It is
recommended that I intake 2800 calories per day, but as I am trying to lose weight ... Show more

As I said before I am trying to lose weight, and this showed me that calories and exercise are not the
only things I need to focus on. I realized that I consume more protein and carbohydrates than I need
and both of those get stored as fat if not used. I also consume too much sodium which can have
negative effects on the hear. Sodium makes blood volume increase which makes the heart have to
work harder, and over time this leads to high blood pressure, heat attack, stoke, and even heart failure
(Harvard 2016). In regards to this I need to cut down on my sodium intake to increase my heart health.
Calcium and Potassium are two key minerals need for life and I am lacking in both areas. Calcium
helps build and repair tissue, and without it, overtime bones can deteriorate (National Institute of
Health 2016). I am not too short of my calcium goal, but I need to maintain and good calcium intake
to maintain good bone health. Potassium is also an electrolyte, a substance that conducts electricity in
the body, and with my sever lack of potassium intake I am at risk for heart disease (UMM 2015).
Lastly I need to make sure I am getting enough of my vitamins. I lack the right amounts of Vitamins
C, D, and E. Lack of vitamin can cause many symptoms such as fatigue, shortness of breath,
dizziness, irregular heart beats, muscle weakness, personality changes, unsteady movements, or
mental confusion (Mayoclinic.org 2016). Most symptoms of

Gavrilo Princip, Sarajevo and World War I Essays
Gavrilo Princip, Sarajevo and World War I
In present day Sarajevo alongside the Miljacka River there used to be commemorative footprints in
the concrete sidewalk. Spanning across the Miljacka River was the Princip Bridge, named after the
man who took not only the life of an Archduke, but also the lives of many more during World War I.
Bismarck had predicted that, Some damned foolish thing in the Balkans would cause the war. He was
partially correct. The assassination of the Archduke Franz Ferdinand by Gavrilo Princip did not cause
World War I; instead it served as one of the contributing factors to the start of the war. This is why in
Sarajevo, after 1990, there are no traces of the assassination. Street names have been ... Show more

This immediately left no hope for the Turks to regain their lands; however, Bosnians would now have
full rights and privileges of the Empire. The reason for doing this is not really known, but it is thought
by some that the Austrians were just exercising their right as a sovereign power. Turkey was paid a
settlement in cash from the Austrians and much of Europe calmed down, except for the Serbians who
wanted the territory as their own. On October 8, 1908, two days after the annexation, the founding of a
semi secret society called Narodna Odbrana occurred. They met in the City Hall in the city of
Belgrade. Many of these men were Serbian ministers, government officials, and generals. The group
was founded to give a purpose to Pan Slavism and to recruit and train for a potential war with Austria.
Anti Austrian propaganda was spread and spies of the Narodna Odbrana were now operating in the
Austrian provinces. One year later, in 1909, Austria asked the Serbian government to put a stop to
their revolution against Austria. The Narodna Odbrana was forced to listen and instead they
concentrated on education and propaganda in Serbia.
Many members of the Narodna Odbrana were not happy with this and decided to form a new,
completely secret, organization. On May 9, 1911, ten men met together to form the Ujedinjenje ili

Experiential-Humanistic Psychotherapy
Building upon the philosophy of cognitive behavioral therapy is a relatively recent form of
psychotherapy known as experiential humanistic psychotherapy (Hollon 901). Experiential humanistic
psychotherapy adds to cognitive behavioral therapy the fundamental principle of humanistic
psychology, that is, self actualization (Hollon 901). Self actualization is defined as the expression of
one s creativity and the realization of their capabilities (Hollon 901). Given the limited amount of time
that the scientific and medical communities have had to study this type of psychotherapy, it is not
surprising that there is precious little data in regards to its efficacy in treating anxiety and mood
disorders (Hollon 901). Having stated that, experiential humanistic ... Show more content on

Even though most of these nonpharmacological treatments, like deep brain stimulation (DBS),
psychosurgery, and vagal nerve stimulation (VNS), are experimental and off label in nature, there does
exist two nonpharmacological treatments for psychiatric illnesses that have been documented as
effective (Li 41). The older of the two is electroconvulsive therapy (ECT), formerly referred to
disparagingly as shock treatment (Li 41). This form of therapy involves the production of generalized
seizures due to large scale neuronal discharges via the application of short electrical impulses through
the scalp (Li 41). Data shows that modern electroconvulsive therapy is successful at managing
treatment resistant depression in roughly half of patients (Li 41). However, given the level of side
effects (such as memory loss and decreased cognition) associated with this type of treatment,
electroconvulsive therapy is used exclusively as a last resort (Li 41). It was for this reason that
repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS), a form of therapy in which electromagnetic
induction is utilized in order to depolarize or hyperpolarize neurons in the brain, was developed (Li
41). In repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation, electromagnetic induction is attained by attaching
a pulse generator to a magnetic field generator, which is then placed near the head of the patient (Li

Rock N Roll Impact On Society
#2 compare and contrast the nature, role, and impact of rock n roll with that of beat poetry and the

sustain itself throughout many generations. American society has been hugely impacted by rock n roll
consistently setting trends for pop music and persuading other genres of music. Rock n roll has
bricked the road for originality, creativity, and broad mindedness. Artist have been allowed to speak on

Designing A Company For The Car Industry Essay
Revival is a company I own for four years now. It s been a family company since 1963, so it has a lot
of sentimental value to me over the years. Basically what this company does restores old classic cars
and rejuvenates them. The shop was owned by my grandpa, then pass on to my dad. Unfortunately,
my dad passed away of cancer, so he inherited the company to me because he knew I would still
continue to keep Revival functioning properly. I like to preserve my company the way it is, as how it
was first step up back in 1963. It just reminds me of the old memories when I first used to give a hand
around the shop. I remember learning skills from my dad, on how to make business agreements with
customers. The day I knew I wanted to work in the car industry, was when I first bought an 1950
Aston Martin for $1600 because the guy was paying too much for parking space a month. As a matter
of fact, I told him what does he prefer, continuing to pay for rent or get rid of the car for once. That s
the day when I first bought myself a car for an amazing deal. The market value for Aston Martins are
significantly higher once it s all refurbished. Ever since then, I noticed easy potential money in the car
industry.

Disadvantages Of Electric Cars
Everyday people use cars to get from one place to another, whether that s from their home to work or
from work to the airport or even city thousands of miles away. Cars especially in the United States are
hailed as efficient forms of transportation because of their ease of use and relative affordability.
However, in recent years with the rise in crude oil prices and the demand for more efficient vehicles
alternative fuel sources have gained more traction than in the past. However, the many caveats of
complex technology and increased price are major drawbacks which must be considered when looking
at electric cars. In the end electric cars are better for the environment due to increased performance
and reduced overall CO2 emissions. At the turn of the nineteenth century electric cars made up nearly
a third of the cars in the United States, while today they don t even make up one percent as stated by
Cadie Thompson. Electric cars were hailed for their ease of operation, lack of smell, as well as their
easiness to operate. Although there were many upsides electric car production peaked in 1912. By this
time Henry Ford s mass production and assembly lines made internal combustion vehicles, both
cheaper and more popular making electric cars somewhat obsolete. One of the main limitations of
electric cars is the battery technology, which is used to power the electric cars. In the 1990s GM
attempted to create an electric car called the EV 1, it used primitive cheap lead acid batteries. A
limitation of this vehicle was the range it was between 55 and 95 miles which is nothing compared to
an average of around 300 for a combustion powered vehicle. With the rise of rechargeable batteries in
devices like laptops, phones, and even power tools battery technology has made leaps and bounds.
The batteries used in these devices are light, but powerful and are perfect for electric cars. These
lithium ion batteries aren t perfect however, they are extremely expensive, which limits the market for
electric vehicles. As Kevin Bullis said To cut costs, the lithium ion powered electric cars made today
by companies such as Nissan and GM use small battery packs with a range if less than 100 miles.
(Bullis). One thing that s extremely

Framing In The Pardoner s Tale
Framing plays a very important role in Chaucer s The Pardoner s Tale as it lets the reader delve into
the world that the author has created to analyze the characters within. The character of the Pardoner is
very interesting and by using frames we can add depth to the story that he tells. There are five frames
in the tale: the general prologue or the pilgrim s point of view, Pardoner s prologue, introduction of the
tale, the actual tale itself and lastly the old man s tale. The various frames present in The Pardoner s
Tale each help explain the narratives contained inside. The main role of framing is to help the reader
grasp the text in greater detail and uncover what may not be obvious at first sight. Framing also helps
strengthen the understanding behind the actions of the characters in The Pardoner s Tale. In Chaucer s
tale framing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When reading the prologue and the tale one feels as if there are two conflicting sides to the pardoner;
one where he preaches moralistic values and the other where he is defying those same values with his
greedy requests. Framing helps by giving the reader direction and thus being able to distinguish in a
sense which of the Pardoner s is speaking. In his prologue the pardoner tells the crowd that he is a man
who preaches against the sin of gluttony. He exclaims when I preach in churches, I strive for a
resounding voice, and I ring it out as round as a bell, for I know by heart all that I say. My theme is
and always was one and the same: Radix malorum est cupiditas. (Chaucer 334) The exact meaning of
the Latin phrase is greed is the root of all evils . However, the pardoner later calls what he does
trickery and that it has won him hundreds of marks . He also tells the people that all his stories are
false. (Chaucer 399) But even after he has already explained how he does his business to the crowd
the pardoner then tries to trick them into giving him things for his so

Container Cheating
Container gardening is a style of small space gardening in which vegetables and flowers are planted in
containers instead of directly in the ground. One reason container gardening has become so popular in
recent years is that the containers can be moved around to areas where a person might not normally
think of planting a vegetable garden. Patios, stoops, sidewalks and even along driveways are some of
the more typical places that a gardener might grow container vegetables. While you can use just about
any style of container for growing vegetables, the container must have drainage holes and be large
enough to support the plant. But, exactly what IS the right size? Selecting the right sized container for

It could be that hedge to hedge green carpet. How about bordering it all around with flowers, or
starting a few plants of dark ivy or myrtle right now? Get a little groundcover going and you can in
time have ribbons or drifts or large patches of dark green contrast to grass, perhaps interplanted with
bright small flowers, to add variety to the wanted but look alike lawns. Leave bumps, hills, hollows,
ridges, rocks and stumps. Too often, the builder beats the owner to it and levels out the ground.
Natural irregularities add interest and make a piece of ground more individual, and rocks and stumps
can be the beginnings of rock garden flower and evergreen plantings or backdrops for flowering vines.
Dooryard Gardens We could have more dooryard gardens. Instead of having shrubs right at the house
front, put them about 10 feet in front of the house and use the space between for a small flower
garden. This makes a colorful spot right near the front door. Evergreens planted thickly enough can
make a screen from the street and some cement or brick or flagstone inside the area can provide sitting
room; now you have a flowery outdoor extension of the living room. Or set out a looser hedge
planting, and let the bright posies behind it be invitingly visible from the street. Instead of a hedge, on
a small piece of ground, have a low fence as the boundary for your front dooryard flower garden.
What became of the old fashioned mixed flower border? It suits many older homes. Old fashioned
flowers have great appeal for many people; you can fit it along a driveway or on a backyard boundary
line. Plant small iris plants there now. They ll bloom in a few days. Have a peony plant or two, and
some sweet Williams for early June. Include foxgloves and canterbury bells, both June highlights,
both easily grown from packets of seeds. Hollyhocks Have hollyhocks in the background, and also

Evaluation on Search Engines
Final Evaluation As I have come to an end of this Unit 2, I am now going to evaluate on each elements
that were useful to me while I was doing this unit. The main sections that I am going to cover are the
search engines used, search techniques used and search criteria, sources of information used,
comparison of the internet and non internet sources and the quality of the information found. Internet
Source Most frequently used search engine for this unit was Google as it is quite obvious but I also
tried to use other search engines which I am not that familiar to such as Bing, Ask Jeeves, Dogpile,
Answers, MSN Search, Yahoo and AOL. While using Bing I found out that it allows the user to search
data in Twitter as well which is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I used many different sources of information such as internet websites, videos, articles etc and the non
internet sources were the magazines, newspapers and TV. Personally I found the internet sources
easier to look for any wanted information as it was a lot quicker and I was able to personalise the type
of search that I wanted to conduct. I also had the facility to screen print, copy the main points and get
the images instantly so that I could show it as my reference. Non internet sources was also very useful
to find the information but I had to spend more time while researching as I had to flick through many
pages just to find the article about the laptops and the information that I gained were all very limited.
The possible improvement would be that if I tried researching more using the non internet sources by
talking with the technology experts etc. There were many dates that I had come across during the
research of the pull out section. In order to check that if the dates were correct I looked into many
different search engines which showed that the dated that I obtained were accurate. To check the

The On The Worship Of Fetish Gods, And Michel Tournier s...
The concept of fetishes has been ever changing, since its introduction. To look at the more precise
development of fetishism, one must start at the origin. To do this, one would look at the initiation, the
moment a fetish begins. Throughout literature, different notions of this idea has been discussed. Using
Charles de Brosses On the Worship of Fetish Gods and Michel Tournier s The Fetishist, the idea of
fetish initiation has evidence of presenting a common similarity and slight interpretational differences.
Charles de Brosses elaborates on his theory of fetish initiation in his work On the Worship of Fetish
Gods or the translation of this, On the Cult of the Devine Fetishes or the Parallel of the Ancient
Religion of Egypt on the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They chose the one they were pleased with and held a ceremony by the priests. Basically, there was no
internal connections to the chosen deities. It was solely a first encounter, split second moment
connection with anything ranging from nature to animals to colors. He viewed the fetishist people as
ignorant with their superstitious stupidity when he said, There is no superstition so absurd or so
ridiculous that ignorance joined to fear has not engendered it; when we see with what ease the coarsest
cult establishes itself in stupid minds diseased with that passion, and roots itself through custom (De
Brosses 172). His theory stated: If one considers them only from the moment when one sees the
memory of Divine Revelation entirely extinguished among them (De Brosses 172). The moment of
fetish initiation was just a mere sighting of an object that struck a moment of realization of wants and
needs.
In later literature like The Fetishist by Michel Tournier, fetish initiation is discussed in a different light
outside of religion. This story is a limited subjective perspective of a monologue by insane asylum
patient, Martin, who has a fixation on women undergarments to the extent of it becoming a
detrimental fetish. Within the first paragraph of the story, Tournier first mentioned the fetish, Some
beautiful dresses! I like that. It reassures me. It s polite. It s nice. It s gratifying (Tournier 192). He

Rita Cosby Short Story
After Rita had convinced her father to reveal the story, she was able to comprehend the tragic ordeals
that her father had experienced and had made him cold and distant all those years. She found that her
father had witnessed his hometown in Poland being bombed at a young age of thirteen. He had lied
about his age to join the resistance group that fought their enemies. He was then captured together
with his mates and were imprisoned in Germany. Where after some time they were able to escape and
were rescued by the American troops. All of this took place while he was still a teenager. Later on,
Rita and his father visited Poland for the first time since world war II. After coming to terms with the
whole story, Rita and her father formed a very deep bond that can never be broken. Moreover, Rita
Cosby has many agonizing tragedies, but there are specific moments that are deeply piercing and
heartbreaking. It is really disturbing to see Rita s father grew up in a war zone city known as Warsaw.
He vividly witnessed the bombing of a town he called his home, at only thirteen years old. He saw
indescribable horrific events happening in the Jewish ghetto, a small town that was only a few miles
away from his house (R. Cosby). When the Germans invaded Warsaw, everything in that city was
destroyed. And as if that was not enough, the Soviets also invaded the same city from the east. This
left the people of Warsaw with nothing, all they had to do was to escape. They were oppressed by the

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Pva And Cellulose
INTRODUCTION
1.1 Objectives
Developing environmentally friendly polymer composites that are reliable and economical offering all
the advantages of petroleum based plastics was the driving force behind this work. The objective of
this work was to prepare degradable composites based on polyvinyl alcohol, PVA and cellulose. Both
PVA and cellulose are available from renewable resources and the properties of PVA are comparable
to properties of polystyrene and polypropylene. Another advantage of PVA from point of
commercialization is its processing similarity to polyolefins. This particular property allows the use of
existing technology to process PVA . This has made PVA a potential replacement material in
applications .for example. At present PVA is used in variety of applications including those in
biomedical, automotive and packaging fields. The main factors that have prevented PVA from

A fibril is a threadlike bundle of molecules stabilized laterally by hydrogen bonding between adjacent
molecules. The molecular arrangement of these fibrillar bundles is called Microfibrils. One microfibril
contains several elementary fibrils which are in turn composed of multiple cellulose chains. The
arrangement of microfibrils is regular enough to exhibit a crystalline X ray pattern [17]. The
microfibrils are about 10 30 nm wide and can contain 2 30,000 cellulose molecules. As mentioned
earlier, cellulose can be natural (native) or man made (regenerated). It is very difficult to find cellulose
in pure state. When derived from plant source, cellulose is associated with other substances like lignin
and hemicellulose. In addition to lignin and hemicellulose, a number of non structural components
such as waxes, inorganic salts and nitrogenous substances are also present [18] . Figure 4 shows the

Action In Judaism
Many people inherit their religion from their parents and usually die in it; however, there are some
questions that need to be asked before choosing a religion. The most important choice should be
between believe or action. Action should have more emphasis than belief in a religion. Therefore,
Judaism is the perfect religion to accommodate right action due to its orthopraxy nature, due diligence
to society, not forcing others to convert, and knowing what each individual is destined to accomplish
while incorporating belief; in which it is hard to find the right combination of action and belief in
other religions.
One of the interesting aspect of Judaism is that Jews are more concerned with the book of Torah (Jews
Bible). Being a Jew is intertwined in doing the right thing and ... Show more content on

Jews carry out their due diligence with in their society and at home. A woman is treated as the queen

and helps the community. Even kids take their religion after their mother. Wives after divorce must
receive a get to finalize a divorce. Manning describes the rule of divorce as it prohibited a husband
from divorcing his wife from without her consent. (103) Judaism acknowledges and dictates
relationship between friends. Eastman explains friendship by referring the last Ten commandments in
which it [P]rohibits against coveting , the blessing of a neighbor . Therefore, it is tempting to convert
to Judaism because Jews display a great respect, love and tolerance among each other. In addition,
wives are treated with a great respect and have values. Hence, it can be observed that there is a strong
support for the society in good and bad times; Therefore, it makes Judaism attractive and difficult life

The Second World War I
The Second World War was just as deadly as the first, but more widespread. Coming just two decades
after the last great global conflict, the Second World War was the most widespread and deadliest war
in history, involving more than 30 countries and resulting in more than 50 million military and civilian
deaths. (History.com). Initiated by Adolf Hitler, the German leader, invaded Poland in 1939. World
War two lasted for six years until Nazi Germany and Japan were both defeated in 1945 by the Allied
Powers. Realist perspective argues that a crucial event in the cause of the World War one was the
unification of Germany in 1871. The unification in Germany created a new power in the center of
Europe, and this new power had a larger population, and a more powerful economy compared to other
European Countries. German Unification created a new power in the heart of Europe that had a larger
population, and in short order, a more powerful economy than any other European power. (Nau). This
disruption in the balance of power created uneasiness within other countries of Europe. These
countries were threatened by Germany s new power. So, in response to Germany s rise to power these
countries allied themselves against Germany forming the Triple Entente, but because the countries of
Great Britain, France, and Russia allied against; Germany began to feel threatened. This is a prime
example of the security dilemma at work. Both countries were unsure about each other s intentions.

PRODUCTIVITY
It is clear that FedEx wants to stay ahead of competitors such as UPS, USPS, and DHL. In today s
market it is about having the best people, the best technology, and having the strongest customer
service attitude. With these three key elements s FedEx will continue to grow the business in the now,
but more importantly is strengthen the future business. FedEx has identified the importance of
employee relationship, which in the short and long run improves overall customer service. If the
employees are happy with FedEx than overall productivity will increase.
The Employee Loyalty Index (ELI) at FedEx Express complements i4cp s core focus of leveraging
human capital as a driver for increased market performance. The ELI is a tool that gauges multiple
indicators of employee loyalty and other critical factors that drive this commitment on an ongoing
basis. The information is then used to develop proactive processes and forward thinking initiatives.
The index is not designed to simply measure loyalty for loyalties sake, but to act on the premise that
loyal employees help to build customer loyalty, and, in turn, greater profits. (Retrieved 3 1 2010)

Tom Cruise Pre Crime
In the movie that stars Tom Cruise as the head detective for the pre crime unit there are several
intriguing ideas going on. John Anderson who is played by Tome Cruise gets his information from
what is known as the pre cogs who are a group of two males and one female. These pre cogs are able
to see into the future when a murder is going to take place. These three people are floating in a liquid
unable to move to leave. They stay lying there all day and night just to serve the purpose of warning
the pre crime police of danger that is suppose to come. Which sets up our first dilemma that takes
place during this movie.
These three people or pre cogs because in the movie they are not really thought as being human beings
are really imprisoned. They don t have the ability to leave or go home; instead they are forced into
drugs that keep them somewhat conscious but not too much as to know of their surroundings. They
were being used really for someone else s gain, which turned out in the end not to be the pre crime

138). In this movie however, the pre crime police task force violates that right. They instead choose to
believe in the belief that we are predestined in the case of committing murder. They fail to believe that
people can choose the path that they take in life and whether or not they want to commit a certain act
whatever it shall be. A person has free will and with that power they have the ability to decide to
murder someone or not. The movie shows that at the end we do in fact have a choice to whether or not
we murder someone. Hence, the rationale behind arresting people who have yet to commit a crime
should be illegal and unethical. You are stripping that person of his or her rights and reaching the
belief that humans have no sense of free

The Patent Of The Pharmaceutical Industry
With new innovations and products coming out every day patents become very important, especially
in the pharmaceutical department. A patent is a grant by the government permitting the inventor
exclusive use of an invention for 20 years. During this period, no one could make use, or even sell the
invention without authority. With the India s patent laws covering a manufacturing method rather than
the finished product, this causes problems. A patent provides incentive for pharmaceutical companies
to continue to create new and better drugs for, but this may cause conflict with the intellectual
property issue.
While the intellectual property law is supposed to balance the rights of those who create intellectual
property and those who enjoy ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It limits their business which in result causes them to do less research. While India has done this many
other countries have put human rights over intellectual property rights. In every argument there are
two sides of the story. In this issue, the person is all for the big companies stating that they should rule
and that generic companies should not be allowed to steal from the main brand companies. An
alternative to this is to let the generic companies sell, question is why would they be able to sell? The
way of drugs has been instrumental in treatment scale up for resource poor settings hard hit by the
AIDS epidemic. Around 6.64 million people in low and middle income countries are currently
receiving drugs to take care of the HIV/AIDS. This would simply not have been possible without a
reduction in the price of the antiretroviral drugs. (http://www.avert.org) With that being said, do major
companies actually save people s lives? From a generic brand point of view, one could argue not. How
can a company save people s lives when a majority of the people who have the disease cannot even
afford to buy the drug? With the HIV/AID drugs costing $10,000 $15,000 per year that is very
expensive, but $554 from a generic brand in low income countries is much more reasonable
(http://www.avert.org) Therefore, generic companies are

Analysis Of The Poem The River That The Boy Spirit
She cleaned the spirit s dirty body and found out that the dirty things all came from human s rubbish
that discharged into rivers and lakes (Napier, 2006). After Chihiro cleaned the spirit, this lets him not
suffering from pollution. Then the spirit gave Chihiro some treasure that also showed Miyazaki s view
that if people try to protect the nature, nature will also return something for humans (Napier, 2006).
Another environmental concern in Spirited Away was a boy who used to be the spirit of a river near
Chihiro s old town, but he forgot his name. And he was working in the spa center because the river
was filled by human to build a highway (Reider, 2005). Miyazaki s view changed because his life
changed at that time. Japan has developed quickly at that time especially the industry, but people
ignored that some activities could harm the environment. Also, Napier stated Miyazaki explained that
the inspiration for the river that the boy spirit was a personal experience of his own when he helped to
clean a polluted river near his home (Napier, 2006). Miyazaki wanted to use the magic film to tell
people the truth what they did. Their behaviors reflected their daily life that damaged the environment
with no intention and also encouraged people to solve the problem in order to protect the environment.

  • 2. Dowbt Of Future Foes It is clear that there is a prominent struggle in the balance of power between the monarch and the subject that is represented in the two early modern texts of the play Edward II by the playwright Christopher Marlowe and the poem The dowbt of future foes exiles my present joye by Queen Elizabeth. Each monarch in each text is losing support from their once loyal followers and subjects by intertwining public responsibility and personal desire. In this essay I will use these texts to demonstrate the monarch s power struggles as a result of their subjects. I will also use secondary sources of criticism to confirm the points that are made in this essay. Firstly, I will analyse the poem The dowbt of future foes exile my present joye by Queen Elizabeth ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is also the nobles, especially Mortimer Senior and Mortimer Junior. The nobles see Gaveston as an inappropriate preoccupation for the King which leads to his authority and the balance of power being fragile. His preoccupation with Gaveston has lead to the King think of nothing but Gaveston (2.2.7) and still his mind runs on his minion (2.2.4). King Edward s struggle to balance power has lead to the weakening of the army and therefore England is at threat to foreign invasion. In the words of critic David Stymeist in the text the Status, Sodomy, and the Theater in Marlowe s Edward II , Christopher Marlowe dramatizes the history of the English King who is accused of allowing his homoeroticism to take precedence over his political and social obligations (P 235). Many critics have claimed that this play is a play of sodomy. However if we look at the Oxford English Dictionary, sodomy is defined as any form of sexual intercourse considered to be unnatural. Now chiefly: anal intercourse (OED). There is no evidence in the play that confirms that both King Edward and Gaveston had any form of sexual intimacy. However, critic Mario DiGangi writes in the text Marlowe, Queer Studies and Renaissance Homoeroticism that Sodomite meant more than a man who has sex within another man . The label also meant that this particular man was treasonous, monstrous, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Abdominal Pain Case Studies Chief Complaint: The patient complains of dysuria and some abdominal pain for the past 3 days History of Present Illness: N. T is a five year old uncircumcised male who was in his usual state of good health, now he presents with a complaint of dysuria and some abdominal pain for the past 3 days. The mother also reports high fever in the last 24 hours. It is crucial for NP to collect important subjective information following the seven attributes of symptoms to help guide the interview systematically (Swartz, 2014). This will aid to rule out acute condition requiring aggressive treatment (Dains et al., 2016). Since the patient is only five year old the mother would be the main historian, however, whenever is appropriate the child should also be included in the interview (Swartz, 2014). Pertinent information the NP should obtain include, when did the pain during urination started? Does it hurts only during urination? When did the abdominal pain started? Does the pain radiate? The patient can point the areas where he feels pain. Is it painful all the time? When does the pain go away? Additionally, aggravating ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 4. Reflection Paper On Selfishness ME ME ME How does this help me? Wait what do I get out of this Of course I deserve it I want it I need it Just give it to me, said Erin Ronald. This quote describes selfishness because it is the contrary of generosity and solidarity, and the excess of love to oneself and the lack of group values. Knowing the world, is essential for a person s life. Many times, we do not understand how a society works, how people work, how our life goes, how the present goes, etc. As a result of all of them, we can experience certain anguish that appears when it wants but with relatively frequency, such as: Why do I do what I do? Am I happy? Who I am? For all of these I have proposed to write this philosophical paper about what I believe the causes are and what might help to accommodate the selfishness we are facing now in New York City. Survival, cultural and parental influence, and manners are the causes why people in this city are selfish. It would be difficult to change our society with this paper, but I believe that this reflection is the best method to redirect a life from all areas and ages. People are just not born being selfish, they become selfish by a factor. One of the factors can be when people become selfish when they have to act fast in a life or death situation in order to survive. Suppose we change the Kohlberg s example about Heinz, there is only one pill in the world that has the potential to save your friend and yourself s life. Who do you think deserves the pill? According to Aristotle, friendship is one of the virtues necessary for living well, and an essential aspect of a life of happiness and morality, the friendship of good men is good, being augmented by their companionship; and they are thought to become better by their activities and by improving each other (1172a). A good man is interested in doing good to others and when it is about a friend could forget about himself. I agree that Aristotle s theory about friendship could make satisfy the humanity s necessities, if all men were virtuosos. Doing good is beneficial for both, the one who practices and who receives it. People become selfish when they have to face the live or death situation because people have an instinct to ... • 5. Nutrition Intake Log Analysis Nutrition Intake Log Over the period of three day I kept a food record to analyze my nutrient intake. Keeping this food log allowed me to see what and how much nutrients I was getting from the foods I was consuming. I quickly realized that I had been missing out on some key nutrients, vitamins, and minerals needed for a healthy life style. Without analyzing your intake, it is hard to see what nutrients you are getting and if you are getting enough of them. This food record allowed me to see how I can better improve my diet and achieve a healthier lifestyle. Nutrients and Minerals I am 20 years old, five feet eleven inches, and I weight about 205 pounds. It is recommended that I intake 2800 calories per day, but as I am trying to lose weight ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As I said before I am trying to lose weight, and this showed me that calories and exercise are not the only things I need to focus on. I realized that I consume more protein and carbohydrates than I need and both of those get stored as fat if not used. I also consume too much sodium which can have negative effects on the hear. Sodium makes blood volume increase which makes the heart have to work harder, and over time this leads to high blood pressure, heat attack, stoke, and even heart failure (Harvard 2016). In regards to this I need to cut down on my sodium intake to increase my heart health. Calcium and Potassium are two key minerals need for life and I am lacking in both areas. Calcium helps build and repair tissue, and without it, overtime bones can deteriorate (National Institute of Health 2016). I am not too short of my calcium goal, but I need to maintain and good calcium intake to maintain good bone health. Potassium is also an electrolyte, a substance that conducts electricity in the body, and with my sever lack of potassium intake I am at risk for heart disease (UMM 2015). Lastly I need to make sure I am getting enough of my vitamins. I lack the right amounts of Vitamins C, D, and E. Lack of vitamin can cause many symptoms such as fatigue, shortness of breath, dizziness, irregular heart beats, muscle weakness, personality changes, unsteady movements, or mental confusion (Mayoclinic.org 2016). • 6. Gavrilo Princip, Sarajevo and World War I Essays Gavrilo Princip, Sarajevo and World War I In present day Sarajevo alongside the Miljacka River there used to be commemorative footprints in the concrete sidewalk. Spanning across the Miljacka River was the Princip Bridge, named after the man who took not only the life of an Archduke, but also the lives of many more during World War I. Bismarck had predicted that, Some damned foolish thing in the Balkans would cause the war. He was partially correct. The assassination of the Archduke Franz Ferdinand by Gavrilo Princip did not cause World War I; instead it served as one of the contributing factors to the start of the war. This is why in Sarajevo, after 1990, there are no traces of the assassination. Street names have been ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This immediately left no hope for the Turks to regain their lands; however, Bosnians would now have full rights and privileges of the Empire. The reason for doing this is not really known, but it is thought by some that the Austrians were just exercising their right as a sovereign power. Turkey was paid a settlement in cash from the Austrians and much of Europe calmed down, except for the Serbians who wanted the territory as their own. On October 8, 1908, two days after the annexation, the founding of a semi secret society called Narodna Odbrana occurred. They met in the City Hall in the city of Belgrade. Many of these men were Serbian ministers, government officials, and generals. The group was founded to give a purpose to Pan Slavism and to recruit and train for a potential war with Austria. Anti Austrian propaganda was spread and spies of the Narodna Odbrana were now operating in the Austrian provinces. One year later, in 1909, Austria asked the Serbian government to put a stop to their revolution against Austria. The Narodna Odbrana was forced to listen and instead they concentrated on education and propaganda in Serbia. Many members of the Narodna Odbrana were not happy with this and decided to form a new, completely secret, organization. On May 9, 1911, ten men met together to form the Ujedinjenje ili Smrt which became known as the Black Hand . The goal of the men was to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Experiential-Humanistic Psychotherapy Building upon the philosophy of cognitive behavioral therapy is a relatively recent form of psychotherapy known as experiential humanistic psychotherapy (Hollon 901). Experiential humanistic psychotherapy adds to cognitive behavioral therapy the fundamental principle of humanistic psychology, that is, self actualization (Hollon 901). Self actualization is defined as the expression of one s creativity and the realization of their capabilities (Hollon 901). Given the limited amount of time that the scientific and medical communities have had to study this type of psychotherapy, it is not surprising that there is precious little data in regards to its efficacy in treating anxiety and mood disorders (Hollon 901). Having stated that, experiential humanistic ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Even though most of these nonpharmacological treatments, like deep brain stimulation (DBS), psychosurgery, and vagal nerve stimulation (VNS), are experimental and off label in nature, there does exist two nonpharmacological treatments for psychiatric illnesses that have been documented as effective (Li 41). The older of the two is electroconvulsive therapy (ECT), formerly referred to disparagingly as shock treatment (Li 41). This form of therapy involves the production of generalized seizures due to large scale neuronal discharges via the application of short electrical impulses through the scalp (Li 41). Data shows that modern electroconvulsive therapy is successful at managing treatment resistant depression in roughly half of patients (Li 41). However, given the level of side effects (such as memory loss and decreased cognition) associated with this type of treatment, electroconvulsive therapy is used exclusively as a last resort (Li 41). It was for this reason that repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS), a form of therapy in which electromagnetic induction is utilized in order to depolarize or hyperpolarize neurons in the brain, was developed (Li 41). In repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation, electromagnetic induction is attained by attaching a pulse generator to a magnetic field generator, which is then placed near the head of the patient (Li ... Rock N Roll Impact On Society #2 compare and contrast the nature, role, and impact of rock n roll with that of beat poetry and the avant garde. how were these artistic expressions similar, and in what ways did they significantly diverge? Rock n roll is an important genre of music. It not only have the power to influence but also sustain itself throughout many generations. Five cuvettes provided by the instructor were used during the experiment. The transmittance on the spectrophotometer was zeroed on an empty chamber and it was set at a wavelength of 486 nm. • 10. Designing A Company For The Car Industry Essay Revival is a company I own for four years now. It s been a family company since 1963, so it has a lot of sentimental value to me over the years. Basically what this company does restores old classic cars and rejuvenates them. The shop was owned by my grandpa, then pass on to my dad. Unfortunately, my dad passed away of cancer, so he inherited the company to me because he knew I would still continue to keep Revival functioning properly. I like to preserve my company the way it is, as how it was first step up back in 1963. It just reminds me of the old memories when I first used to give a hand around the shop. I remember learning skills from my dad, on how to make business agreements with customers. The day I knew I wanted to work in the car industry, was when I first bought an 1950 Aston Martin for $1600 because the guy was paying too much for parking space a month. As a matter of fact, I told him what does he prefer, continuing to pay for rent or get rid of the car for once. That s the day when I first bought myself a car for an amazing deal. The market value for Aston Martins are significantly higher once it s all refurbished. Ever since then, I noticed easy potential money in the car industry. • 12. Disadvantages Of Electric Cars Everyday people use cars to get from one place to another, whether that s from their home to work or from work to the airport or even city thousands of miles away. Cars especially in the United States are hailed as efficient forms of transportation because of their ease of use and relative affordability. However, in recent years with the rise in crude oil prices and the demand for more efficient vehicles alternative fuel sources have gained more traction than in the past. However, the many caveats of complex technology and increased price are major drawbacks which must be considered when looking at electric cars. In the end electric cars are better for the environment due to increased performance and reduced overall CO2 emissions. At the turn of the nineteenth century electric cars made up nearly a third of the cars in the United States, while today they don t even make up one percent as stated by Cadie Thompson. Electric cars were hailed for their ease of operation, lack of smell, as well as their easiness to operate. Although there were many upsides electric car production peaked in 1912. By this time Henry Ford s mass production and assembly lines made internal combustion vehicles, both cheaper and more popular making electric cars somewhat obsolete. One of the main limitations of electric cars is the battery technology, which is used to power the electric cars. In the 1990s GM attempted to create an electric car called the EV 1, it used primitive cheap lead acid batteries. A limitation of this vehicle was the range it was between 55 and 95 miles which is nothing compared to an average of around 300 for a combustion powered vehicle. With the rise of rechargeable batteries in devices like laptops, phones, and even power tools battery technology has made leaps and bounds. The batteries used in these devices are light, but powerful and are perfect for electric cars. These lithium ion batteries aren t perfect however, they are extremely expensive, which limits the market for electric vehicles. As Kevin Bullis said To cut costs, the lithium ion powered electric cars made today by companies such as Nissan and GM use small battery packs with a range if less than 100 miles. (Bullis). • 13. Framing In The Pardoner s Tale Framing plays a very important role in Chaucer s The Pardoner s Tale as it lets the reader delve into the world that the author has created to analyze the characters within. The character of the Pardoner is very interesting and by using frames we can add depth to the story that he tells. There are five frames in the tale: the general prologue or the pilgrim s point of view, Pardoner s prologue, introduction of the tale, the actual tale itself and lastly the old man s tale. The various frames present in The Pardoner s Tale each help explain the narratives contained inside. The main role of framing is to help the reader grasp the text in greater detail and uncover what may not be obvious at first sight. Framing also helps strengthen the understanding behind the actions of the characters in The Pardoner s Tale. In Chaucer s tale framing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When reading the prologue and the tale one feels as if there are two conflicting sides to the pardoner; one where he preaches moralistic values and the other where he is defying those same values with his greedy requests. Framing helps by giving the reader direction and thus being able to distinguish in a sense which of the Pardoner s is speaking. In his prologue the pardoner tells the crowd that he is a man who preaches against the sin of gluttony. He exclaims when I preach in churches, I strive for a resounding voice, and I ring it out as round as a bell, for I know by heart all that I say. My theme is and always was one and the same: Radix malorum est cupiditas. (Chaucer 334) The exact meaning of the Latin phrase is greed is the root of all evils . However, the pardoner later calls what he does trickery and that it has won him hundreds of marks . He also tells the people that all his stories are false. (Chaucer 399) But even after he has already explained how he does his business to the crowd the pardoner then tries to trick them into giving him things for his so ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

To look at the more precise development of fetishism, one must start at the origin. To do this, one would look at the initiation, the moment a fetish begins. Throughout literature, different notions of this idea has been discussed. Using Charles de Brosses On the Worship of Fetish Gods and Michel Tournier s The Fetishist, the idea of fetish initiation has evidence of presenting a common similarity and slight interpretational differences. His theory stated: If one considers them only from the moment when one sees the memory of Divine Revelation entirely extinguished among them (De Brosses 172). The moment of fetish initiation was just a mere sighting of an object that struck a moment of realization of wants and needs. In later literature like The Fetishist by Michel Tournier, fetish initiation is discussed in a different light outside of religion. This story is a limited subjective perspective of a monologue by insane asylum patient, Martin, who has a fixation on women undergarments to the extent of it becoming a detrimental fetish.
