Project Management And Construction Of The Project
All the financing, sourcing, bidding management and construction of the project are decided by MOR
internally7.
Eventually, the power centralized into three people former Minister of Railways Liu Zhijun, former
railway ministry chief engineer Zhang Shuguang and former China Railway Communication Group
Corp. Chairman Ma Cheng. Liu Zhijun, who had the main leadership responsibility for the accident
and acted as the executive sponsor, was sacked and detained in Feb, 2011, before it happened, being
accused of corruption6, while Ma Cheng died of a heart attack in the following weeks of the accident.
They were all accused of abuse of power and accepting bribes which somehow reduced the budget for
the contractual supplier. As a result, corner cut on materials during the construction is common and
poses a tremendous risk on riding the train.
Cause of failure 3 transparency and oversight: Transparency is always crucial in project management.
However, it has been a problem in Chinese society for thousand years. For example, after the accident,
the relevant authorities tried to bury the fallen carriages without thorough life inspection (one little girl
was found alive after the carriage was half buried) and cover up the fact from being exposed to the
public8. Even though it is not clear what happened during the project, it is believed that serious
transparency problems underlie the deadly accident. Who made the decision to award contracts? How
decisions were made for

A Review On Thing Net Works
In numerous genuine applications, other than the input and thing content data, there may exist
relations (or systems) among the things which can likewise be useful for proposal. For instance, in the
event that we need to prescribe papers (references) to clients in Cite ULike, the reference relations
between papers are useful for suggesting papers with comparable subjects. Different case of thing net
works can be found in hyperlinks among site pages, motion pictures coordinated by the same
executives, et cetera. In this paper, we build up a novel progressive Bayesian model, called Relational
Collaborative Topic Regression (RCTR), to join thing relations for suggestion. The principle
commitments of RCTR are laid out.
II. Foundation: In this area, we give a brief presentation about the back ground of RCTR, including
CF based suggestion, network factorization (MF) (likewise called inactive component model) based
CF strategies and CTR. A.CF Based Recommendation Collaborative theme relapse is proposed to
prescribe records (papers) to clients via flawlessly incorporating both input framework and thing
(archive) content data into the same model, which can address the issues confronted by MF based CF.
By joining MF and inactive Dirichlet distribution (LDA), CTR accomplishes preferable expectation
execution over MF based CF with better interpretable results. In addition, with the thing content data,
CTR can anticipate input for out of grid things. The graphical model of CTR is

Political Rhetoric
How Form Highlights Lack of Logic in Political Rhetoric next to of course god america i, a poem by
E.E Cummings is a political speech written in the form of a sonnet. The last line of the poem, He
spoke. And drank rapidly a glass of water signifies to the reader that the first thirteen lines of the poem
which is in quotation marks is a speech given to an audience. The poem is filled with patriotic songs
in the first and second quatrain that echo common political rhetoric. The lines of the poem
demonstrate poor command of language, which contradicts the expectations for a political speech,
which is expected to be intelligent and written or spoken in proper and formal language. The poem has
empty exclamatory words and uses metaphors that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The politician in this poem is ignorant of his language. Cummings arrangement highlights a common
attribute of politicians. Their address to the public usually has no meaning, makes no logical sense and
is filled with empty words like those used by the speaker in this poem. Cummings attracts the reader s
attention to this political situation by the gap in the last line of the poem, He spoke. And drank a glass
of water. He spoke is a complete sentence and the only place in the poem with punctuation. The
completeness of the sentence creates a space between it and the continuation of the line, And drank
rapidly a glass of water. The gap here makes the reader think about what He says. It becomes more
apparent to the reader that the speaker does not communicate any message. The speaker does not
inform the audience but only tries to stir them up emotionally through his recital of common patriotic

Should Same Sex Couples Be Allowed To Adopt
Should Same Sex Couples Be Allowed to Adopt With the battle of same sex marriage still continuing,
it has yet aroused another subject similar to the matter: should same sex couple be allowed to adopt.
Throughout the 21th century, this topic has been controversially debated whether or not same sex
couples adopting is a negative or beneficial right. With this being said, homosexual couples should be
allowed to adopt because kids with homosexual parents are more open minded, shown the same love
by parents and show love to others, however children are believed to face social stigmatization. Kids
may have the advantage of open mindedness, tolerance and role models for equitable relationships
when having homosexual parents. One instance show when children are raised by homosexual parents
are believed they will be more tolerant when reaching older stages in their life to the LGBT
community. For example a child is raised by a gay couple, which later the child when older will be
more accepting of those around them and open minded to homosexual couples since they were raised
by a homosexual couple. Following this, children will be taught not to judge people off of their
lifestyle, but to judge off of their personality. Therefore, children who are raised by homosexual
parents generally have better social skills, and peer relationships which result in a stronger buffer
against stigma or discrimination. However, in some instances children face indirect consequences such
as social

Tv Dbq Essay
People argue television has increased awareness of politics to create more fair and accessible
elections. However, I think TV has had a negative impact on politics because it promotes a superficial
image of candidates and provides dumbed down content mainly to boost a TV station s ratings.
Television promotes candidates image over their policies. Instead of the candidates discussing what
they are going to do for the country, they simply argue why they are better than each other. The
candidates being televised gives the audience a sense of knowing them, which causes them to lose the
audience s interest in political ideals and to be judged by standards formerly used to assess rock
singers and movie stars (Source B). Instead of the candidates ... Show more content on

The coverage allows voters immediate contact with political events (Source A). Having this contact
provides the voters knowledge of the characteristics of the candidates. Knowing how the candidate
reacts in different situations is important because we want to ensure they won t cause extreme
problems. For example, a president that is quick to anger wouldn t be the best for the country because
if he or she was discussing policies with world leaders. If he or she didn t agree, they could become
angry and embarrass the country, or even launch an attack. That may be a major exaggeration, but we
need to be aware of the characteristics to ensure the candidate will be a great president. However, we
don t actually know the candidate. It may feel as if we do, but we don t actually know them, TV
promotes a false connection. especially biased TV stations. Over time, television broadcasting stations
have formed biases and praised the candidates with similar opinions while shedding a negative light
on the candidates that with contrasting views. In other words, we can t trust how the candidates appear

Effects Of Captive Enrichment On Fish Production
Effects of Captive Enrichment on Fish Production: Fathead Minnows (Pimephales promelas)
Introduction Environmental enrichment for fish in captive environments has not been studied often,
unlike that of mammals. However, in the last decade, there have been more attempts to study it.
Moreover, structural environmental enrichment is the focal point at this time. Structural environmental
enrichment is the addition of a structure (e.g. toys, buoys, artificial vegetation) to the rearing
environment (Naslund Johnsson, 2014). Enrichment can affect a variety of aspects of the biology of
captive fish, such as, stress, injury, disease susceptibility, aggression, and energy expenditure (Gerber
et al., 2015)). A recent study conducted by Naslund and Johnsson (2014), found that environmental
enrichment can be divided into groups. These groups include: physical enrichment, sensory
enrichment, dietary enrichment, social enrichment, and occupational enrichment. Since, some of those
are difficult to test, physical enrichment is what is being studied now. All species of fish are not the
same and prefer certain substrates rather than others. Therefore, since the Fathead Minnows that we
will be studying and conducting this research on, will depend on what they prefer. The goal of this
study is to test whether captive enrichment affects the reproduction success of P. promelas.
Background Fathead minnows can survive in a variety of environments such as creeks, headwaters,
rivers, lakes, and

Summary Of The Article When The Gender Boxes Don T Fit

In the article When the Gender Boxes Don t Fit by Ericka Sokolower Shain I found myself a little
disagreed. I am all about equality for all, and everyone should feel comfortable in their own skin. I
agree with the writer that gender doesn t have to be so black and white (Sokolower Shain, 2009, pg.
34). The whole conflict this person came across within the whole bathroom discussion I felt fully on
their side, and it was something I would support, gender neutral bathrooms. But then I thought about
myself, I won t feel comfortable about entering a bathroom with men in there. I don t know if that
messes with my beliefs on equality but the thought of it did make me uncomfortable. I think if I was

Soviet Union Citizen
What was like for a Soviet Union citizen to be a member of the Communist Party and what did it
meant? For a Soviet Union citizen to be a member of the Communist Party it meant to live in constant
fear. This paper will be exploring what was it like for a Soviet Union citizen to be a member of the
Communist Party and what did it mean to them; the reasons why they were joining.
While Stalin was in power the size of the Communist Party increased by many millions. Many people
attribute this to the fear that he culminated into the Soviet Union s citizens minds. His principal way to
gain power were a sum of dishonesty, fraud, lies, extreme brutality, and mass murder. Some examples
of the ways he used to make people fear him are the Gulag camps, the secret ... Show more content on

unexcused absences or late from work, petty theft or anti government jokes. Throughout its history,
about 18 million people passed through its camps and prisons. About half of the prisoners were sent to

The Depression Of Manic Depression
For my research paper, I decided to look into Manic Depression. I have chosen to write about this
topic because I have been personally dealing with this disorder since about eight years old. Manic
Depression is usually referred to as Bipolar Disorder, but when I tell someone that I am Bipolar, they
just think that it means I get angry easily. People seem to take me more seriously when I refer to it as
Manic Depression. I used to have to take a wide variety of medications and go to counseling when I
was younger because I was having struggles with suicidal urges. Recently it has gotten significantly
worse since the death of my father due to a stroke in 2012. This is a very serious topic for me because
it has made and will continue to make my life more difficult than it needs to be. Manic Depression
first started to get looked into in Greece during the 1st century by Aretaeus of Cappadocia. The
research he did was not acknowledged for many centuries after. The terms manic and depressive come
from the ancient Greek terms mania and melancholia. The ancient Greeks and Romans learned that
lithium could be used to treat the manically depressed people by bathing with lithium salt. In this era,
it was very common for the deeply religious dogma of the time to execute people that suffered from
bipolar disorder or any other mental disorders. During the 17th century, a book named The Anatomy
of Melancholy was written by Robert Burton. The book covered different forms of treatment for

The Issue of Compensation and Its Repercussions on Society
A very contentious issue arising within public domain is that of compensation and its repercussions on
overall society. Over the past 3 decades executive compensation has ballooned while the average
worker continues to see only modest gains in income. The average annual earnings of the top 1
percent of wage earners grew 156 percent from 1979 to 2007; for the top 0.1 percent they grew 362
percent (Kaplan, 2012). In contrast, earners in the 90th to 95th percentiles had wage growth of 34
percent, less than a tenth as much as those in the top 0.1 percent tier. Workers in the bottom 90 percent
had the weakest wage growth, at 17 percent from 1979 to 2007. If inflation averaged just 2% a year
over this period, the gains of the bottom 90% would be negative. In 2007, average annual incomes of
the top 1 percent of households were 42 times greater than incomes of the bottom 90 percent, and
incomes of the top 0.1 percent were 220 times greater. This is an increase of 1400% and 4700%
respectively since 1979. These statistics do not bode well for the health care industry which is
currently undergoing immense change. With the healthcare reform currently underway, many changes
will be made to entitlements and overall compensation. Entry level workers in particular will have a
fundamentally different compensation package then prior generations. Due primarily to a combination
of excessive spending, deficit reductions, and an aging population, alterations to compensation will
occur. The extent

Last Days Of Summer
Character traits in books are a very essential element and without them, books would not be books.
They provide people with an example that they may follow in order to live a good life. Some books
serve as life lessons to show people how some characteristics can bring downfall to some people if
they do not follow the rules. Throughout Last Days of Summer, by Steve Kluger, the characters
possess many characteristics that can help us in our everyday life, most importantly, patience. Charlie
learns how to develop patience throughout the book. In the beginning, he despises Joey for the
nonstop letters he keeps sending him. As time goes on the two develop a very good and strong
relationship all because Charlie showed patience to Joey.

Two Kinds, By Amy Tan
Reflection on Two Kinds the novel The Joy Luck Club, Amy Tan explores the relationship between
mothers and daughters. There are 4 mother daughter pairs in the novel, mothers are the first generation
immigrants, and the daughters are born in America. The Joy Luck Club mothers come from the
Chinese traditional families when the dictatorial Chinese power is destroyed by the Japanese
insurgents in the 1940s. They escape from the political upheaval of China, but they don t forget their
Chinese traditional culture, while their daughters are born in America, they are the second generation

The Joy Luck Club presents many conflicts in the mother daughter relationship. The conflicts are
embodied in 3 aspects. First, the mothers and the daughters are in different cultural backgrounds, and
the daughters cannot understand their mothers. At the beginning, Jing Mei fears that she cannot tell
her mother s story to her half sisters, which, in fact, reflects the fear of other daughters of the Joy Luck
Club members. They have identified themselves with Americans. Jing Mei s fear also reflects the
mothers common feelings. They offer the chance to go to America to their daughters, and make them
self sufficient; they wonder whether they have their daughters away from tradition. So in the story The
Joy Luck Club Jing Mei feels puzzled, What will I say? What can I tell them about my mother? I don t

Black Mirror Literary Devices
In dystopian literature, there are many universal storytelling elements and literary devices that builds
onto the theme. This is apparent in Charlie Brooker s TV show Black Mirror s Nosedive, where your
social media score determines your life. You re rated out of 5 stars, the higher the rating you have the
more successful you are. The lower your rating the less unsuccessful you are. Black Mirror uses
universal storytelling elements such as social cohesion. Black Mirror also uses literary devices such as
verbal irony, symbolism, and parable.
Social Cohesion is one way that the TV show Black Mirror builds the theme of wanting to feel
accepted and the fear of loneliness. In Black Mirror s episode Nosedive Everyone s goal is to fake it
until they make it. Social class is based on social media ranking, 5 stars. The closer to 5 you are the
more popular and successful you are. The closer you are to 1 no one wants to talk to you and does
everything they can to avoid you. You aren t successful. you can t own a nice car or house. Your score
determines your life and the way people treat you. For example, Lacie is one of the main characters in
the episode of Black Mirror, Nosedive. To become more successful and be able to get a better house
she must improve her rating. Naomi is another main character that used to be Lacie s best friend, when
they were little. Naomi is very popular, and happens to be getting married. Lacie posts a picture on

The Importance Of Oil Prices In America
Oil prices affect most American s daily lives. Whether it is used to fuel your car, a plane, to heat your
home, or even if it is just used inside products, like plastic that we use daily, oil plays a role in all of
our lives. Last year, in 2015, an extreme decline in gas prices swept the United States. For example,
oil prices have decreased to less than $30 a barrel which is the lowest it has ever been in 12 years.
There are many factors that can contribute to this sudden decline in gas prices, but their are three that
are the most relevant. These include, the recent advancements in other fuel sources, the changes in the
leading oil suppliers of the world, and the simple economic concept of supply and demand. These
three ideas are all important in contributing to the fall of gas prices. ... Show more content on

Alternative fuel sources are defined as sources used to reduce our dependence on imported oil, and to
rely more on renewable resources. Solar panels, an example of an alternative fuel source, can be put
on houses or buildings, designed to absorb light rays and convert it into electricity or heat (What Are
Solar Panels). This eliminates the need for oil to heat your home. Another alternative fuel source are
hybrid cars. Hybrid cars are a mix of gas and electricty but still cuts down the need for oil
substantially. They work by using a gas engine and electric motor to propel itself. Both solar panels
and hybrid cars, either eliminate the need for oil or limit it which is why they are a top cause for the

Annie Hall and Jesus Essay
Annie Hall (1977), from director/actor/co writer Woody Allen, is a compelling masterpiece of
priceless, witty and quotable one liners within a matured, focused and thoughtful film. It is a
bittersweet romantic comedy of modern contemporary love and urban relationships that explores the
interaction of past and present, and the rise and fall of Alvy Singer s (Woody Allen) own challenging,
ambivalent New York romance with his opposite an equally insecure, shy, flighty Midwestern WASP
female: Annie Hall. (Diane Keaton)
The major theme of the film is that there are severe limitations in life (death and loss are the two most
prevalent), but that art forms (such as the printed word, films, and plays) have the power to reshape
reality and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Alvy searches for the cause of the failure of his relationship with an introspect examination of his own
life. His paranoia may have been caused by the fact that he lived under the roller coaster in Coney
Island, but he tends to over exaggerate his childhood memories. He constantly jokes about his own
appearance, personality and sex. He never really found a true cause for the failure of his relationship.
It is true however, that Annie changes through the film. She begins as a shy, uneducated female, who
(with the help of Alvy) learns to be more confident and finds new aims in life. Alvy convinces her to
take college courses, though Annie always insists that Alvy thinks she s not smart enough . Alvy never
really truly finds a specific cause for the breakup, but realizes that Annie had been an influence on his
life. She made him think in sort of a different light, and her presence was just a joy.
Although many people do not believe that this movie should have won the 1977 Oscar for Best Picture
(since it was competing against Star Wars), many critics say that the choice was obvious. Annie Hall is
famous not only for his humorous screenplay, but also for its wide variety of cinematography. There
are a variety of innovative strategies and narrative techniques in the film that support the contention
that Woody Allen is functioning as a self conscious artist who evaluates his entire life and uses the
film medium to

The Development of Religious Archetecture in New Kingdom...
The expansion of the political and economical power during the New kingdom, led to the devotion of
resources to the religious architecture; numerous new temples were constructed while the pre existing
temples were renovated. Individual Pharaohs endeavored to out do their ancestors, not only in the
construction of their own mortuary temples, but also in the establishment of worship temples of their
deities. Kings of this period abandoned the pyramid complexity of the earlier ages and constructed
their tombs in the Valley of the Kings well away from their mortuary temples due to the increase of
robbers; therefore a standardized plan became default for both the worship and mortuary temples.
Because of this movement, I believe that the divine ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The turning point of the New Kingdom s architecture was during the reign of Akhenaten, which took
place during the Amarna period. During this era, the sun god Aten became superior over all the gods,
thus leading to the abolition of the former gods that caused Egypt to have a polytheistic religion.
Traditional temples became neglected, whilst Aten temples of differing sharper construction emerged.
Although none of the temples of this period survived due to the ravages of later kings, yet (image 7)
portrays that the Amarna temples did not follow along the traditional footsteps of previous
architecture, instead they were smaller in size, with sanctuaries open to the sun for the direct worship
of Aten, with no doors and a large number of altars. During the reign that followed, of Amehotep III
and Ramses II, the monotheistic religion returned and many noted changes took place. The tendency
of huge royal statues and funerary temples were a common feature as well as the gradual yielding to
columns with plant motifs and Osiride pillars, completely transformed the atmosphere of the temples
interior. A complete alternation in the interiors of the great halls and courtyards of the temples resulted
from the change of supports, columns. Image 8 portrays the evolution of papyrus columns, from the

Attending School Year
The winter weather in the U.S. can be very unpredictable, and can disrupt school for any period of
time. The southern most states generally don t have to worry about it, but anything can happen as you
travel farther north. I have had first hand experience with crazy winter weather since I live in
Michigan. In past years my school has been close to extending the school year, but have never actually
had to do so. I believe if there has been a very significant amount of school canceled then a
combination of actions should be taken.
First, a certain amount of extra school should be added on to the year if the winter was severe enough,
but should not exceed a week or maybe two. The reason the school year should not exceed two extra
weeks is because motivation of students would decline drastically. If a school were to exceed two
weeks, I believe the students would be so unmotivated that the material that they learned would be
close to useless. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If a school were to have an intense winter they should not add days to the year for anything
unnessicary. Doing so would most likely cause students to become unenthusiastic about their school
work.
In conclusion, schools should have the right to extend the school year if a vicious winter caused
cancellations. However, in my opinion, the smartest decision would to cut the days added on to a
reasonable amount for the students sake. In doing so. schools could successfully catch up on lost time
without sacrificing student

The Road of Lost Innocence by Somaly Mam Essays
Somaly Mam s story has always been a heart wrenching and very difficult story for me to read.
Constantly I found myself wanting to put down the book because I could not take the reality of what
was actually being done to her. And how no one was taking any interest in her ordeal. Beyond the
beatings, rape, and acts of being sold from pimp to pimp there was one particular moment in the book
that really threw me for a loop. It was in Chapter 4, when it seemed at least to me that Somaly Mam s

I knew I owed it to Somaly Mam to at least hear her entire story, if she could survive the terrifying
aspects of her life I could hold firm through this short story. I was shocked to learn that Somaly Mam
started to work to earn money for Min and still continued to work for Aunty Peuve. I thought to
myself why was she continuing to help this man who was clearly just using her like every other
disgusting man in her life. I was relieved a little when she stopped working for Min, but then I knew
she had to inevitably go back and work for Aunty Peuve. I guess I cannot completely begin to
understand what was going on in Somaly Mam s mind that she would willing work for Min and Aunty
Peuve. But I guess I would have to be in her shoes to see if I would make the same decisions.
However, the longer I thought about it, I began to see that Somaly Mam was not working for Min
because she was trying to help him, but instead she was trying to help herself. Somaly Mam for a time
at least had faith that Min s business idea might finally help her escape the grasp of the sex slave
industry. While I am sad that her life was not able to take a turn for the better at that time I am ecstatic
that she did not continue to live with that man who was clearly using her for monetary gain. What
disgusted me even more was that Min, actually came back to Aunty Peuve s and tried to hassel

infrastructure. I think that overall,l it depends upon how you implement the tool of total cost of
ownership to get the exact or the nearest advantage of reducing the overall costs because sometimes
labor costs associated with IT outweigh the actual investment made. (Saunders,

Brigham Young University – Provo Case Study
My choice is to attend Brigham Young University Provo. Not only does BYU have all the academic
requirements for my future profession in Journalism and Portuguese but also has a spiritually driven
student body that draws me in. The honor code and high moral standards is a huge influencing factor
on the school s massive appeal. Not many schools have little to any standards, primarily where rape
and drug use is involved. I need a college experience that is not only education based but is also a
healthy environment where I can meet others, maybe even my worthy future companion, and mature
into the person I want to be. I can see how BYU has blessed many members in my own family. I have
two aunts who graduated with their degrees in the same field

Safety Culture Is The Common Beliefs And Ways
Culture is the common beliefs and ways of doing things shared between those who learned their ways
in the same environment. Safety culture is, however much of the same with a developed attitude
towards safety. Safety culture can be strong, where people within an organization report incidents that
occur or even when they had the opportunity to occur. On the other hand safety culture can also be
poor where incidents are hidden or swept under the carpet and no action can be taken to decrease the
possibility of it from happening again. Tools have been developed to assess the safety culture in many
different organizations, usually those that have a high risk. Rules and regulations are typically
implemented following incidents resulting in fatalities. Nuclear, medical and aviation are some of the
main industries that have begun assessing safety culture within their organizations and implementing
SMS systems to help distinguish situations that could have potentially caused an incident.
Over the years safety has been taken more and more seriously and the safety culture throughout many
organizations in general has been greatly improved upon. This has been mainly due to mishaps and
incidents in the past that have led to fatalities. Following these incidents have been regulations and
measures to ensure that the same thing is less likely to occur or possibly even impossible to occur
again. Since so many regulations are now in place incidents are few and far between, which is a good

Native Americans And The American Colonial Societies
Native Americans, English, Africans and other European settlers went through adversity in their plight
in trying to establish their own identity in North American Colonial societies. Trade and land were two
major components in the fight for power. The Native Americans and the settlers had turmoil; their
biggest conflicts were deciding how to delegate land and control trade. New France wanted to take the
fur trade away from the Iroquois Confederacy. The Native Americans valued the fur trade because it
was their primary forms of trade at the time. Over the span of twenty years New France and the
Iroquois Confederacy would have turmoil until they signed a treaty that made them neutral. Conflict
amongst the settlers and the Native Americans were also present in Virginia and New England. In
Virginia, Nathaniel Bacon led his people to use violence to push the Native Americans to the west; this
conflict became known as the Bacon Rebellion. They wanted to utilize their land for inhabiting their
community and for expansion of trade. In New England they tried to dismantle the Indian tribes such
as the Wampanoag s, Nipmucks, Narragansett s, and Abenaki s. This was accomplished through King
Phillip leading the New Englanders into war against the Native Americans. Eventually, the natives
supply of food and weaponry diminished greatly. After their resources declined many of the Natives
left were enslaved or passed away due to illness. Even though the Indians faced great adversity

My Road Trip
I have been on many road trips in my life. For as long as I can remember, summer vacation was piling
in the car and driving across the country, setting up camp wherever we went. I would watch my mom
in the weeks and months before it, carefully planning every step of the way, even though it would
often come unravelling halfway through. The best part of vacations are the improvised parts, whether
it s taking a day trip to Disney World, the tickets bought the day before, driving down to San
Francisco for no good reason, or watching a movie in a tiny movie theater on a day that it rained.
Planning is crucial, I learned, but you should never expect anything to be set in stone. My theoretical
road trip would be taken with my two sisters and last ten days, and would be a mad dash west towards
California, which has many wonderful National Parks for us to camp in. The National Park system is a
wonderfully western phenomenon, and throughout the states west of the Appalachians, there is an
amazing diversity of places to camp and hike in. There will hopefully be no hotels on this trip, only
tents. We will have two hundred dollars put aside for grocery shopping, which we will use to buy food
that we will cook with. There will also be another three hundred set aside for eating out. There will
also be four hundred dollars for emergencies, whether that be a car breakdown or staying in a hotel.
For our ten day trip, we will have to pay for a campsite each night. The practical and wonderful thing
about camping is that the average campsite costs only ten dollars, so that will only cost us about one
hundred dollars. Hiking, our main activity on the trip, will cost us nothing as well. My family also
owns a pass that gets us into National Parks for free, so that will cost us nothing. The car we will take
is an Hyundai Elantra, which has been highly reliable in the past, and the average cost of gas per mile
is twelve cents. Lucy and I will switch driving, while Sadie will be in charge of navigation, using
atlases and Google Maps. The first day of the trip, we will leave Kansas early in the morning and
drive all the way to Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado. In the usual traffic, this trip will take
approximately ten hours

them was in a metal tray which was better to see. Then the other one was in a plastic container like the
other. Once the water had made contact with the dry ice the ice started to make fog. The fog came
from the dry ice when the water met with the ice and made fog. This kind of reaction was, Carbonic

Basic Crisis Intervention Theory
Critical Incident The critical incident I will be discussing is a house fire that occurred recently in my
neighborhood. The owner of the home Samantha was sleeping downstairs on the couch and was able
to get out of the fire with minor injuries. Unfortunately, the Samantha s boyfriend was sleeping
upstairs and died in the fire. This tragic event not only took Samantha s home but her loved one and
possessions. I have selected the Basic Crisis Intervention Theory because I believe it fits best with this
crisis.
Basic Crisis Intervention Theory Basic crisis intervention theory focuses on individuals who are
suffering a loss (James Gilliland, 2017). In this case, Samantha has lost her loved one and her home.
She is suffering several losses at one time. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
During this time of disequilibrium, an individual becomes vulnerable to deterioration (Lewis Roberts,
2001). There are four stages that occurs when individuals are in a state of emotional disequilibrium,
which are disturbed equilibrium, brief therapy or grief work, working through the grief, and
restoration of equilibrium (James Gilliland, 2017). It is essential to guide Samantha through her crisis
by working on her grief and restoration and balance of her emotional equilibrium.
Crisis Intervention
In basic crisis intervention theory, the client s behavior and response to the crisis is normal and only
temporary (James Gilliland, 2017). The grief behaviors that the client may display are preoccupation
with loss, identification with the lost one, guilt and hostility, disorganization in daily routine, and
somatic complaints (James Gilliland, 2017). It is critical for the counselor to work with Samantha
through her grief behaviors and implement an intervention. There is a 7 stage crisis intervention model
that Samantha will progress through as she continues counseling. The first stage is to plan a

Middle English Research Paper
English started as a West Germanic language spoken in England attributable to migration from the
southern shores of the sea. The migrants are known as Anglo Saxons however there s doubt on
whether or not it s really their name. English shows a nearer respect to Frisian than to the types of
German spoken within the sea areas of Germany, even within the earliest times. The stage of English
from its creation by the Anglo Saxons to shortly after the Norman Conquest was named Old English .
The earliest English language was far more inflected than modern English; it had a way smaller
vocabulary with few loanwords from alternative languages and an easier grammar structure. It s
unrecognisable to modern English speakers nowadays. It was modified an excellent deal over six
centuries attributable to influences from multiple languages. Latin loaned some words to germanic
languages across the continent, and so most came to English once the Anglo Saxons became
Christianised. A number of this new vocabulary came from Latin, Greek, and Old Norse, the language
of the Norwegians who 1st raided as Vikings and later came to settle. it was an analogous language to
English however far enough away to mean there had to be a compromise language created between
Anglo Saxon and Norse individuals. this led to plenty of vocabulary being ported from other
Germanic languages to English. The era from 1100 to 1500 was dubbed Middle English. The language
throughout this point 1st had to contend with Anglo Norman, at the time the official language of the
country, and there are few texts from the late eleventh and twelfth centuries to inform us what English
was like. It continued to be spoken by the huge majority of the population and there was never in any
danger of alternative languages taking up. Norman French had a large vocabulary input into English at
this point, and also the combined influence of it and the earlier Norse weakened the inflectional
system and led English into a language that contained much fewer endings and and fixed word order.
The Anglo Saxon alphabet was slowly lost as they it was seen as inferior by French influenced writers,
and instead new French styled digraphs were introduced to spell sounds the old

Essay on Warfare during the Renaissance
Warfare During the Renaissance
Warfare did not get invented during the Renaissance, but there were some significant innovations.
Feudal cavalry lost its strength of the battlefield, infantry gained in stature, states learned how to field
large armies for long periods of time. Most important of all, however, was the use of gunpowder.
The chief result of these innovations was that warfare once and for all was taken out of the hands of
private individuals (the nobility) and was taken over by the nation state. Moreover, war became so
expensive and destructive that it became ever more difficult and dangerous for small states to wage
war, even at the local level. Warfare became big business and the business of big players.

Anywhere from 14 to 20 feet long, the pike was in effective the infantryman s version of the lance. At
its end it had a point for impaling, a hook for grabbing, and often a blade for cutting. There were many
variations on these.
As with the longbow, the real effectiveness of the pike was not so much the weapon itself but how it
was used on the battlefield. The Swiss became adept at fighting in formation. A solid square of
Pikemen, with the front lines planting their pikes in the ground, presented a bristling wall that cavalry
charges were generally unable to break. As with the English, too, the Swiss fought as traditional
infantry once the cavalry charge was thoroughly disrupted. The Swiss Pikemen wore only light armor,
for mobility was important and his real armor was his fellows in his unit. So long as they held
together, they were protected, and it was long time before other armies learned how to break up a
Swiss square.

Is the Funeral Industry Affected by Recession
How the funeral industry is being impacted and changed by the Global Recession? Benjamin Franklin
s old adage in this world nothing can be said to be certain except death and taxes has never been truer.
However, if he was around today he might change his spelling of death to debt . Taxes in Ireland have
increased recently and the forthcoming emergency budget looks certain to bring further misery to the
population. So while governments are busy collecting whatever taxes they can, people are still dying!
You are born and then you die, it is a simple fact of life. In fact the portion in between we call life is
the uncertain part. When you die you will require the services of an undertaker / funeral director. They

Laurence Shatkin seems to think that the industry is recession proof. He ranks a funeral director at
number 84 in his recent book 150 Best Recession Proof Jobs . Yes the work will continue to come and
as the baby boomers come of age, so to speak, the funeral industry doesn t look like slowing down.
However, it is not just the people that are dying, the profits are too! People have become more cost
conscious as a consequence of the recession and even in their time of grief they are starting to shop
around for the best deal to bury their loved ones. Remember, death can be sudden and unplanned and a
costly funeral will rarely be budgeted for. A funeral is a celebration of someone s life and often the
extravagance is a reflection of the respect for that person. Irish people are famed for their funeral
celebrations otherwise known as a good send off . Nobody wants to cut back on any of the customs
associated with a traditional funeral, however, Dermott Jewell of the Consumers Association of
Ireland has said I don t think anyone can underestimate the difficulty of asking questions or querying
things at the time of a funeral but the fact is, you are availing of a service that comes at a cost and it
can be quite extreme. There are alternatives and you do have a choice. There is a personal barrier there
that you may be seen as being mean but nobody should think in that vein The alternatives are straight
forward. Choose a less ornate coffin;

Tb Is A Treatable And Curable Disease Essay
Although the epidemiology is concerning, TB is a treatable and curable disease. The WHO has
detailed guidelines for the treatment of TB, which specifies that successful TB treatment requires
accurate early diagnosis, drug resistance screening, HIV screening, correct drug selection and long
term compliance. (1) The current first line treatment for drug sensitive TB includes an intensive phase
of 2 months and a continuation phase of 4 to 7 months. The drugs used in the initiation phase include
rifampicin (RIF), isoniazid (INH), pyrazinamide (PYR) and ethambutol (EMB), with RIF and INH
being continued until MTB is eradicated. (1) This four drug treatment regimen for drug sensitive TB
disease has been in widespread use for over 20 years, and has achieved cure rates of more than 95% in
trial conditions. (5) However, this regimen also has unwanted aspects, which include the lengthy
duration of the treatment, the side effects the drugs and, more concerning, the development of drug
resistance, have significantly limited its use. (12)
Furthermore, management of MDR TB poses a bigger challenge, since resistance to isoniazid and
rifampicin precludes the use of two key drugs in the anti TB regimen. The treatment of MDR TB
usually involves a combination of drugs chosen from first line and second line anti TB agents. (13) A
lot of medications used in the treatment of MDR TB are classified as second line because of a high
risk of intolerance, reduced potency and a worse side effect

Since 1971 the health care system has deviated from each other. While Canada has had publicly
funded national health insurance, the United States has relied largely on private financing and delivery
(Goran Ridic). The current health Care act (Canada health act) was introduced in 1984 and it covers
almost all the cost of citizens medical cost. In the course of this period, spending in the United States
has grown much more rapidly despite large groups that either not covered or minimally insured.
Canada health care system is relatively low compare the United States. So why are do they have better
coverage (lower infant mortality rates or higher life expectancy)?
Under the Act, each provincial health plan is administered at the provincial level and provides
comprehensive first dollar coverage of all medically necessary services. With minor exceptions, health
coverage is available to most if not all residents with no out of pocket charges. Most physicians are
paid on a fee for services and enjoy a great deal of practice autonomy. Private health insurance for
covered services are illegal. Most Canadians have supplemental private insurance for services that are
not covered, such as prescription drugs and dental services. Consequently, physicians are forced to
participate and each health plan effectively serves all residents in the province (Henderson 487).
Physician fees are determined by a negotiations between the ministry and provincial medical
associations

  • 2. Project Management And Construction Of The Project All the financing, sourcing, bidding management and construction of the project are decided by MOR internally7. Eventually, the power centralized into three people former Minister of Railways Liu Zhijun, former railway ministry chief engineer Zhang Shuguang and former China Railway Communication Group Corp. Chairman Ma Cheng. Liu Zhijun, who had the main leadership responsibility for the accident and acted as the executive sponsor, was sacked and detained in Feb, 2011, before it happened, being accused of corruption6, while Ma Cheng died of a heart attack in the following weeks of the accident. They were all accused of abuse of power and accepting bribes which somehow reduced the budget for the contractual supplier. As a result, corner cut on materials during the construction is common and poses a tremendous risk on riding the train. Cause of failure 3 transparency and oversight: Transparency is always crucial in project management. However, it has been a problem in Chinese society for thousand years. For example, after the accident, the relevant authorities tried to bury the fallen carriages without thorough life inspection (one little girl was found alive after the carriage was half buried) and cover up the fact from being exposed to the public8. Even though it is not clear what happened during the project, it is believed that serious transparency problems underlie the deadly accident. Who made the decision to award contracts? • 3. A Review On Thing Net Works In numerous genuine applications, other than the input and thing content data, there may exist relations (or systems) among the things which can likewise be useful for proposal. For instance, in the event that we need to prescribe papers (references) to clients in Cite ULike, the reference relations between papers are useful for suggesting papers with comparable subjects. Different case of thing net works can be found in hyperlinks among site pages, motion pictures coordinated by the same executives, et cetera. In this paper, we build up a novel progressive Bayesian model, called Relational Collaborative Topic Regression (RCTR), to join thing relations for suggestion. The principle commitments of RCTR are laid out. II. Foundation: In this area, we give a brief presentation about the back ground of RCTR, including CF based suggestion, network factorization (MF) (likewise called inactive component model) based CF strategies and CTR. A.CF Based Recommendation Collaborative theme relapse is proposed to prescribe records (papers) to clients via flawlessly incorporating both input framework and thing (archive) content data into the same model, which can address the issues confronted by MF based CF. By joining MF and inactive Dirichlet distribution (LDA), CTR accomplishes preferable expectation execution over MF based CF with better interpretable results. In addition, with the thing content data, CTR can anticipate input for out of grid things. The graphical model of CTR is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Political Rhetoric How Form Highlights Lack of Logic in Political Rhetoric next to of course god america i, a poem by E.E Cummings is a political speech written in the form of a sonnet. The last line of the poem, He spoke. And drank rapidly a glass of water signifies to the reader that the first thirteen lines of the poem which is in quotation marks is a speech given to an audience. The poem is filled with patriotic songs in the first and second quatrain that echo common political rhetoric. The lines of the poem demonstrate poor command of language, which contradicts the expectations for a political speech, which is expected to be intelligent and written or spoken in proper and formal language. The poem has empty exclamatory words and uses metaphors that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The politician in this poem is ignorant of his language. Cummings arrangement highlights a common attribute of politicians. Their address to the public usually has no meaning, makes no logical sense and is filled with empty words like those used by the speaker in this poem. Cummings attracts the reader s attention to this political situation by the gap in the last line of the poem, He spoke. And drank a glass of water. He spoke is a complete sentence and the only place in the poem with punctuation. The completeness of the sentence creates a space between it and the continuation of the line, And drank rapidly a glass of water. The gap here makes the reader think about what He says. It becomes more apparent to the reader that the speaker does not communicate any message. The speaker does not inform the audience but only tries to stir them up emotionally through his recital of common patriotic ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Should Same Sex Couples Be Allowed To Adopt Should Same Sex Couples Be Allowed to Adopt With the battle of same sex marriage still continuing, it has yet aroused another subject similar to the matter: should same sex couple be allowed to adopt. Throughout the 21th century, this topic has been controversially debated whether or not same sex couples adopting is a negative or beneficial right. With this being said, homosexual couples should be allowed to adopt because kids with homosexual parents are more open minded, shown the same love by parents and show love to others, however children are believed to face social stigmatization. Kids may have the advantage of open mindedness, tolerance and role models for equitable relationships when having homosexual parents. One instance show when children are raised by homosexual parents are believed they will be more tolerant when reaching older stages in their life to the LGBT community. For example a child is raised by a gay couple, which later the child when older will be more accepting of those around them and open minded to homosexual couples since they were raised by a homosexual couple. Following this, children will be taught not to judge people off of their lifestyle, but to judge off of their personality. Therefore, children who are raised by homosexual parents generally have better social skills, and peer relationships which result in a stronger buffer against stigma or discrimination. However, in some instances children face indirect consequences such as social ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Tv Dbq Essay People argue television has increased awareness of politics to create more fair and accessible elections. However, I think TV has had a negative impact on politics because it promotes a superficial image of candidates and provides dumbed down content mainly to boost a TV station s ratings. Television promotes candidates image over their policies. Instead of the candidates discussing what they are going to do for the country, they simply argue why they are better than each other. The candidates being televised gives the audience a sense of knowing them, which causes them to lose the audience s interest in political ideals and to be judged by standards formerly used to assess rock singers and movie stars (Source B). Instead of the candidates ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The coverage allows voters immediate contact with political events (Source A). Having this contact provides the voters knowledge of the characteristics of the candidates. Knowing how the candidate reacts in different situations is important because we want to ensure they won t cause extreme problems. For example, a president that is quick to anger wouldn t be the best for the country because if he or she was discussing policies with world leaders. If he or she didn t agree, they could become angry and embarrass the country, or even launch an attack. That may be a major exaggeration, but we need to be aware of the characteristics to ensure the candidate will be a great president. However, we don t actually know the candidate. It may feel as if we do, but we don t actually know them, TV promotes a false connection. especially biased TV stations. Over time, television broadcasting stations have formed biases and praised the candidates with similar opinions while shedding a negative light on the candidates that with contrasting views. • 7. Effects Of Captive Enrichment On Fish Production Effects of Captive Enrichment on Fish Production: Fathead Minnows (Pimephales promelas) Introduction Environmental enrichment for fish in captive environments has not been studied often, unlike that of mammals. However, in the last decade, there have been more attempts to study it. Moreover, structural environmental enrichment is the focal point at this time. Structural environmental enrichment is the addition of a structure (e.g. toys, buoys, artificial vegetation) to the rearing environment (Naslund Johnsson, 2014). Enrichment can affect a variety of aspects of the biology of captive fish, such as, stress, injury, disease susceptibility, aggression, and energy expenditure (Gerber et al., 2015)). A recent study conducted by Naslund and Johnsson (2014), found that environmental enrichment can be divided into groups. These groups include: physical enrichment, sensory enrichment, dietary enrichment, social enrichment, and occupational enrichment. Since, some of those are difficult to test, physical enrichment is what is being studied now. All species of fish are not the same and prefer certain substrates rather than others. Therefore, since the Fathead Minnows that we will be studying and conducting this research on, will depend on what they prefer. The goal of this study is to test whether captive enrichment affects the reproduction success of P. promelas. Background Fathead minnows can survive in a variety of environments such as creeks, headwaters, rivers, lakes, and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Summary Of The Article When The Gender Boxes Don T Fit Sara Girgis 10/21/2014 Week 8 In the article When the Gender Boxes Don t Fit by Ericka Sokolower Shain I found myself a little disagreed. I am all about equality for all, and everyone should feel comfortable in their own skin. I agree with the writer that gender doesn t have to be so black and white (Sokolower Shain, 2009, pg. 34). The whole conflict this person came across within the whole bathroom discussion I felt fully on their side, and it was something I would support, gender neutral bathrooms. But then I thought about myself, I won t feel comfortable about entering a bathroom with men in there. I don t know if that messes with my beliefs on equality but the thought of it did make me uncomfortable. I think if I was asked to sign ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

For a Soviet Union citizen to be a member of the Communist Party it meant to live in constant fear. This paper will be exploring what was it like for a Soviet Union citizen to be a member of the Communist Party and what did it mean to them; the reasons why they were joining. While Stalin was in power the size of the Communist Party increased by many millions. Many people attribute this to the fear that he culminated into the Soviet Union s citizens minds. • 10. The Depression Of Manic Depression For my research paper, I decided to look into Manic Depression. I have chosen to write about this topic because I have been personally dealing with this disorder since about eight years old. Manic Depression is usually referred to as Bipolar Disorder, but when I tell someone that I am Bipolar, they just think that it means I get angry easily. People seem to take me more seriously when I refer to it as Manic Depression. I used to have to take a wide variety of medications and go to counseling when I was younger because I was having struggles with suicidal urges. Recently it has gotten significantly worse since the death of my father due to a stroke in 2012. This is a very serious topic for me because it has made and will continue to make my life more difficult than it needs to be. Manic Depression first started to get looked into in Greece during the 1st century by Aretaeus of Cappadocia. The research he did was not acknowledged for many centuries after. The terms manic and depressive come from the ancient Greek terms mania and melancholia. The ancient Greeks and Romans learned that lithium could be used to treat the manically depressed people by bathing with lithium salt. In this era, it was very common for the deeply religious dogma of the time to execute people that suffered from bipolar disorder or any other mental disorders. During the 17th century, a book named The Anatomy of Melancholy was written by Robert Burton. The book covered different forms of treatment for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 11. The Issue of Compensation and Its Repercussions on Society A very contentious issue arising within public domain is that of compensation and its repercussions on overall society. Over the past 3 decades executive compensation has ballooned while the average worker continues to see only modest gains in income. The average annual earnings of the top 1 percent of wage earners grew 156 percent from 1979 to 2007; for the top 0.1 percent they grew 362 percent (Kaplan, 2012). In contrast, earners in the 90th to 95th percentiles had wage growth of 34 percent, less than a tenth as much as those in the top 0.1 percent tier. Workers in the bottom 90 percent had the weakest wage growth, at 17 percent from 1979 to 2007. If inflation averaged just 2% a year over this period, the gains of the bottom 90% would be negative. In 2007, average annual incomes of the top 1 percent of households were 42 times greater than incomes of the bottom 90 percent, and incomes of the top 0.1 percent were 220 times greater. This is an increase of 1400% and 4700% respectively since 1979. These statistics do not bode well for the health care industry which is currently undergoing immense change. With the healthcare reform currently underway, many changes will be made to entitlements and overall compensation. Entry level workers in particular will have a fundamentally different compensation package then prior generations. Due primarily to a combination of excessive spending, deficit reductions, and an aging population, alterations to compensation will occur. The extent ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 14. Black Mirror Literary Devices In dystopian literature, there are many universal storytelling elements and literary devices that builds onto the theme. This is apparent in Charlie Brooker s TV show Black Mirror s Nosedive, where your social media score determines your life. You re rated out of 5 stars, the higher the rating you have the more successful you are. The lower your rating the less unsuccessful you are. Black Mirror uses universal storytelling elements such as social cohesion. Black Mirror also uses literary devices such as verbal irony, symbolism, and parable. Social Cohesion is one way that the TV show Black Mirror builds the theme of wanting to feel accepted and the fear of loneliness. In Black Mirror s episode Nosedive Everyone s goal is to fake it until they make it. Social class is based on social media ranking, 5 stars. The closer to 5 you are the more popular and successful you are. The closer you are to 1 no one wants to talk to you and does everything they can to avoid you. You aren t successful. you can t own a nice car or house. Your score determines your life and the way people treat you. Whether it is used to fuel your car, a plane, to heat your home, or even if it is just used inside products, like plastic that we use daily, oil plays a role in all of our lives. Last year, in 2015, an extreme decline in gas prices swept the United States. For example, oil prices have decreased to less than $30 a barrel which is the lowest it has ever been in 12 years. There are many factors that can contribute to this sudden decline in gas prices, but their are three that are the most relevant. These include, the recent advancements in other fuel sources, the changes in the leading oil suppliers of the world, and the simple economic concept of supply and demand. These three ideas are all important in contributing to the fall of gas prices. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Solar panels, an example of an alternative fuel source, can be put on houses or buildings, designed to absorb light rays and convert it into electricity or heat (What Are Solar Panels). This eliminates the need for oil to heat your home. Another alternative fuel source are hybrid cars. Hybrid cars are a mix of gas and electricty but still cuts down the need for oil substantially. Annie Hall and Jesus Essay Annie Hall (1977), from director/actor/co writer Woody Allen, is a compelling masterpiece of priceless, witty and quotable one liners within a matured, focused and thoughtful film. It is a bittersweet romantic comedy of modern contemporary love and urban relationships that explores the interaction of past and present, and the rise and fall of Alvy Singer s (Woody Allen) own challenging, ambivalent New York romance with his opposite an equally insecure, shy, flighty Midwestern WASP female: Annie Hall. (Diane Keaton) The major theme of the film is that there are severe limitations in life (death and loss are the two most prevalent), but that art forms (such as the printed word, films, and plays) have the power to reshape reality and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Alvy searches for the cause of the failure of his relationship with an introspect examination of his own life. His paranoia may have been caused by the fact that he lived under the roller coaster in Coney Island, but he tends to over exaggerate his childhood memories. He constantly jokes about his own appearance, personality and sex. He never really found a true cause for the failure of his relationship. It is true however, that Annie changes through the film. She begins as a shy, uneducated female, who (with the help of Alvy) learns to be more confident and finds new aims in life. Alvy convinces her to take college courses, though Annie always insists that Alvy thinks she s not smart enough . Alvy never really truly finds a specific cause for the breakup, but realizes that Annie had been an influence on his life. She made him think in sort of a different light, and her presence was just a joy. Although many people do not believe that this movie should have won the 1977 Oscar for Best Picture (since it was competing against Star Wars), many critics say that the choice was obvious. Annie Hall is famous not only for his humorous screenplay, but also for its wide variety of cinematography. There are a variety of innovative strategies and narrative techniques in the film that support the contention that Woody Allen is functioning as a self conscious artist who evaluates his entire life and uses the film medium to ... The expansion of the political and economical power during the New kingdom, led to the devotion of resources to the religious architecture; numerous new temples were constructed while the pre existing temples were renovated. Individual Pharaohs endeavored to out do their ancestors, not only in the construction of their own mortuary temples, but also in the establishment of worship temples of their deities. Kings of this period abandoned the pyramid complexity of the earlier ages and constructed their tombs in the Valley of the Kings well away from their mortuary temples due to the increase of robbers; therefore a standardized plan became default for both the worship and mortuary temples. The turning point of the New Kingdom s architecture was during the reign of Akhenaten, which took place during the Amarna period. During this era, the sun god Aten became superior over all the gods, thus leading to the abolition of the former gods that caused Egypt to have a polytheistic religion. Traditional temples became neglected, whilst Aten temples of differing sharper construction emerged. Although none of the temples of this period survived due to the ravages of later kings, yet (image 7) portrays that the Amarna temples did not follow along the traditional footsteps of previous architecture, instead they were smaller in size, with sanctuaries open to the sun for the direct worship of Aten, with no doors and a large number of altars. During the reign that followed, of Amehotep III and Ramses II, the monotheistic religion returned and many noted changes took place. The tendency of huge royal statues and funerary temples were a common feature as well as the gradual yielding to columns with plant motifs and Osiride pillars, completely transformed the atmosphere of the temples interior. A complete alternation in the interiors of the great halls and courtyards of the temples resulted from the change of supports, columns. The southern most states generally don t have to worry about it, but anything can happen as you travel farther north. I have had first hand experience with crazy winter weather since I live in Michigan. In past years my school has been close to extending the school year, but have never actually had to do so. I believe if there has been a very significant amount of school canceled then a combination of actions should be taken. First, a certain amount of extra school should be added on to the year if the winter was severe enough, but should not exceed a week or maybe two. The reason the school year should not exceed two extra weeks is because motivation of students would decline drastically. Constantly I found myself wanting to put down the book because I could not take the reality of what was actually being done to her. And how no one was taking any interest in her ordeal. Beyond the beatings, rape, and acts of being sold from pimp to pimp there was one particular moment in the book that really threw me for a loop. It was in Chapter 4, when it seemed at least to me that Somaly Mam s life was still very hard and terrible but it at least was beginning to slowing down. I thought to myself why was she continuing to help this man who was clearly just using her like every other disgusting man in her life. However, the longer I thought about it, I began to see that Somaly Mam was not working for Min because she was trying to help him, but instead she was trying to help herself. Somaly Mam for a time at least had faith that Min s business idea might finally help her escape the grasp of the sex slave industry. While I am sad that her life was not able to take a turn for the better at that time I am ecstatic that she did not continue to live with that man who was clearly using her for monetary gain. Safety culture is, however much of the same with a developed attitude towards safety. Safety culture can be strong, where people within an organization report incidents that occur or even when they had the opportunity to occur. On the other hand safety culture can also be poor where incidents are hidden or swept under the carpet and no action can be taken to decrease the possibility of it from happening again. Tools have been developed to assess the safety culture in many different organizations, usually those that have a high risk. Rules and regulations are typically implemented following incidents resulting in fatalities. Nuclear, medical and aviation are some of the main industries that have begun assessing safety culture within their organizations and implementing SMS systems to help distinguish situations that could have potentially caused an incident. Over the years safety has been taken more and more seriously and the safety culture throughout many organizations in general has been greatly improved upon. This has been mainly due to mishaps and incidents in the past that have led to fatalities. Native Americans And The American Colonial Societies Native Americans, English, Africans and other European settlers went through adversity in their plight in trying to establish their own identity in North American Colonial societies. Trade and land were two major components in the fight for power. The Native Americans and the settlers had turmoil; their biggest conflicts were deciding how to delegate land and control trade. New France wanted to take the fur trade away from the Iroquois Confederacy. The Native Americans valued the fur trade because it was their primary forms of trade at the time. Over the span of twenty years New France and the Iroquois Confederacy would have turmoil until they signed a treaty that made them neutral. Conflict amongst the settlers and the Native Americans were also present in Virginia and New England. In Virginia, Nathaniel Bacon led his people to use violence to push the Native Americans to the west; this conflict became known as the Bacon Rebellion. They wanted to utilize their land for inhabiting their community and for expansion of trade. In New England they tried to dismantle the Indian tribes such as the Wampanoag s, Nipmucks, Narragansett s, and Abenaki s. • 25. My Road Trip I have been on many road trips in my life. For as long as I can remember, summer vacation was piling in the car and driving across the country, setting up camp wherever we went. I would watch my mom in the weeks and months before it, carefully planning every step of the way, even though it would often come unravelling halfway through. The best part of vacations are the improvised parts, whether it s taking a day trip to Disney World, the tickets bought the day before, driving down to San Francisco for no good reason, or watching a movie in a tiny movie theater on a day that it rained. Planning is crucial, I learned, but you should never expect anything to be set in stone. My theoretical road trip would be taken with my two sisters and last ten days, and would be a mad dash west towards California, which has many wonderful National Parks for us to camp in. The National Park system is a wonderfully western phenomenon, and throughout the states west of the Appalachians, there is an amazing diversity of places to camp and hike in. There will hopefully be no hotels on this trip, only tents. We will have two hundred dollars put aside for grocery shopping, which we will use to buy food that we will cook with. There will also be another three hundred set aside for eating out. There will also be four hundred dollars for emergencies, whether that be a car breakdown or staying in a hotel. For our ten day trip, we will have to pay for a campsite each night. The practical and wonderful thing about camping is that the average campsite costs only ten dollars, so that will only cost us about one hundred dollars. Hiking, our main activity on the trip, will cost us nothing as well. My family also owns a pass that gets us into National Parks for free, so that will cost us nothing. The car we will take is an Hyundai Elantra, which has been highly reliable in the past, and the average cost of gas per mile is twelve cents. Lucy and I will switch driving, while Sadie will be in charge of navigation, using atlases and Google Maps. The first day of the trip, we will leave Kansas early in the morning and drive all the way to Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado. The migrants are known as Anglo Saxons however there s doubt on whether or not it s really their name. English shows a nearer respect to Frisian than to the types of German spoken within the sea areas of Germany, even within the earliest times. The stage of English from its creation by the Anglo Saxons to shortly after the Norman Conquest was named Old English . The earliest English language was far more inflected than modern English; it had a way smaller vocabulary with few loanwords from alternative languages and an easier grammar structure. It s unrecognisable to modern English speakers nowadays. It was modified an excellent deal over six centuries attributable to influences from multiple languages. Latin loaned some words to germanic languages across the continent, and so most came to English once the Anglo Saxons became Christianised. A number of this new vocabulary came from Latin, Greek, and Old Norse, the language of the Norwegians who 1st raided as Vikings and later came to settle. it was an analogous language to English however far enough away to mean there had to be a compromise language created between Anglo Saxon and Norse individuals. this led to plenty of vocabulary being ported from other Germanic languages to English. The era from 1100 to 1500 was dubbed Middle English. The language throughout this point 1st had to contend with Anglo Norman, at the time the official language of the country, and there are few texts from the late eleventh and twelfth centuries to inform us what English was like. It continued to be spoken by the huge majority of the population and there was never in any danger of alternative languages taking up. Norman French had a large vocabulary input into English at this point, and also the combined influence of it and the earlier Norse weakened the inflectional system and led English into a language that contained much fewer endings and and fixed word order. (1) The current first line treatment for drug sensitive TB includes an intensive phase of 2 months and a continuation phase of 4 to 7 months. The drugs used in the initiation phase include rifampicin (RIF), isoniazid (INH), pyrazinamide (PYR) and ethambutol (EMB), with RIF and INH being continued until MTB is eradicated.
