A Negative Way Of People Can Make Others Feel Welcome And...
After considering the list of ways people can make others feel welcome and valued or like outsiders: I
have come to the conclusion that each event listed could be interpreted in a positive way and used for
good or may be interpreted in a negative way and used to fuel my oppression.
For example, Whether we look at people when we talk with them , one way of looking at that would
be to interpret that person as snobbish and they are not paying attention. Another way of looking at it
would be to understand that they are shy, or uncomfortable with people. The negative reaction focuses
on Me , my wants, my needs, and how that person is not fulfilling them. The positive reaction focuses
on Them , understanding their wants, their needs, and how that person might be feeling. I challenge
you to look at each of those situations and find two results: one that hinders my growth and one that
excels my growth.
I believe the goal is always to make others feel welcome and valued. Although, people say stupid
things and their intentions are genuinely good. In my opinion it is never o.k. to intentionally berate
another human being. Likewise, if you cannot say something encouraging do not speak. If you are
asked, speak the truth in love. Likewise, sometimes the truth hurts and we like to justify our actions
and blame others.
I talk to so many clients during the day and many of them say stupid remarks, but I know they do not
mean animosity towards me or anyone else. We must use discernment to

Design Proposal Summary
The network team is proposing that access control lists (ACLs) be installed on routers at the Cleveland
office. Security policies and procedures have also been considered in order to handle and maintain the
ACLs.
Access controls are a sequence of instructions that a router will refer to before either allowing a packet
into or out of an interface. This is done by making sure that there are security features in place that
control the flow of information as well as how users access the network. An access control list is
written as a sequence of one line statements that are processed by the router ... Show more content on

The policies and procedures will be implemented using access control models. These models will
work to enforce the rules and objectives of our security policy and will also dictate user access. Using
a discretionary access control (DAC) model will allow the owner of the resources to control who has
access as well as the operations that can be performed. Access will be based on the identity of the user
and the role that the user plays within the company. This can be done through access control lists
(ACLs), where permission is granted on a need to know basis.

Stakeholder = a person with an interest or concern in something, especially a business
Public sector = the part of an economy that is controlled by the government.
Private sector = the part of the national economy that is not under direct government control.
The two business I have chosen are NHS and Nike
The NHS (National Health Service) is located in the public sector as it is financed and controlled by

the citizens of the United Kingdom. The NHS was found out of a long held ideal good healthcare

The governments point of view is just to fund and make the NHS sucure for the people of the UK.
Another way to communicate to the national health care is through the staff striking. This is a means
of communication by showing there needs to be a change for the staff at the hospital. The NHS also
has face to face talks with their patients during their vist or stay at the hospitals. This shows that the
staff also want to be looked after by the government via payment.
The main stakeholder for Nike is the general public as they purchase the goods Nike produce and the
public is the main source of revenue for that organization, the genral public also somehow sponser
Nike by wearing their clothing brand , which is a need to get product. Another stakeholder for the
organization are companies such as sports direct, as they purchase Nikes goods as they re competitors
to other companies such as JD. Nike sells it s good internationally which means different countries
will purchase their goods. Sport teams are also influenced in Nike as they sponsors Nikes brand, as
Nike pay them to advertise their logo in varies ways. The local community would also be seen as a
stakeholder depending on the response to Nike, positive or negative. The government is also affected
due to business tax. The more stores Nike open the more tax money the government get, which is

appropriation, particularly in the education system. In the short story Indian Education, Sherman
Alexie describes his schooling from childhood to adolescence. Alexie s usage of formatting and other
literary devices develops the themes of starvation in acceptance, starvation in understanding, and
starvation in friendship. From the start of the short story, Alexie begins portraying the lack of
acceptance and friendship in his childhood. Sherman Alexie structures the story to create a timeline

Grade Rate And Its Effect On College Education
Title Grade inflation is the increase in grade point averages without an associated increase in student
ability. This increase, however so slight, has had a profound effect on college education across the
board. It undermines the only scale to which aptitude is readily tested, devalues a degrees worth, and
while it shields students from failure in the classroom, it does not prepare them to deal with it later in
life. Sadly, grade inflation occurs at almost every level of learning.
Some may say that students are just smarter (Primack 79). However, as a knowledge base increases,
the grading scale should expand slightly to fit it. Meaning that even if students are smarter, course
work will become tougher to challenge those students (Harding 21). The grading scale will only shift
so to speak to include the increase in knowledge. For example, when I finished middle school, I
transferred to an Early College. I had heard it would be difficult, but I had no clue just how hard it
would be. My entire life up to that point had been full of successes and most importantly, grades that
never dropped below an A. Before Early College, I had never had to study for a test, or really even do
my homework to the best of my ability. On the first test, I made an 80. I was shocked. After talking to
my principal, I realized that in middle school, trying wasn t needed to get a good grade. But at Early
College, I had to put forth the effort to get the grade I wanted. Material was harder and

Why Did The Crusade Persuasive Essay
2. Why do you think this language motivated people in the audience like Fulcher of Chartres to join
the crusade? What did the crusade have to offer them?
This language motivated people because it was persuasive and gave the crusaders benefits like being
redeemed. It would motivate people because it declares that the crusades are what God would want for
the Christians to fight against the Turks and Arabs. The crusades offered them with being pardoned
from sins and criminal actions such as robbery. Fighting in the crusades were seen as becoming equal,
no division between the rich and poor, they are fighting for the same cause.
3. How does Urban II cast himself in this speech? How may it have strengthened the papacy s position
in the church hierarchy?
Urban II speech cast himself as a priest of high authority. He also cast himself as having the authority
because God has given it to him. on this account, or rather the Lord, beseech you this statement shows
that he sees himself as a person that God has appointed to carry out tasks to his [God s] people. This
authority and tone would strengthen the papacy s position in the church hierarchy because the speech
shows that Urban II thought that he had the power to forgive a person s sins. It also showed that the

Assessment for Used Car Negotiation Simulation
Summary
My target for this negotiation was to get the car at $4,500, the low end of blue book value. $4,500
could be the net price, which means if seller can offer something else, such as maintenance service,
parts or accessories to offset some part of the cost, I can accept higher price. My BATNA is to deal
with other seller for similar used car. Eventually, I couldn t make any deal with seller during the
negotiation because he wanted to sell at $5,000 and his extra accessory offer is not worth $500. And I
found out that this car s timing belt has not been changed. It should have been replaced right after
100k mileages and it will cost about $600.

Considering the high mileage of the car, the timing belt should be replaced immediately and it cost
about $600. Seller was not willing to bear the cost. This made me have to think about my BATNA.
My BATNA is dealing with other similar car owners. That means I don t have to make commitment to
buy this car. So I think it was the time to end the negotiation in a polite way to keep the contact
because I may come back to talk to him if other offers are even worse. Finally we didn t make any
deal during this negotiation.
What worked for me?
Clearly sorting out the real needs in my mind and my budget limit is very helpful to figure out target
car model, price range, other considerations, alternative solutions, etc.
Making a right negotiation strategy based on Lewicki, Hiam, and Olander s analysis model. From
their model, I think I should deploy a competitive negotiation strategy in this case. This is a win lose
strategy. My purpose is to win at all cost. I should spend time to prepare the negotiation as much as
possible. I have no much concern about future state of relationship with seller.
Researching on line helped to know the market price, the maintenance options, the accessory value
and other choice for similar cars. That made me have BATNA because I know I can get similar car
from other source and I do not have to commit to buy at end the

Animal Farm Book, Language Used as an Instrument of Social...
Paying particular attention to the character of Squealer, how is language used as an instrument of
social control? How do the pigs rewrite history?
In the book animal farm, Orwell very carefully created his characters in order to mimic certain
political figures of the time. In this case Squealer functioned as the propaganda department. Squealer
uses language to keep Napoleon in power. He uses language as a means to consolidate power, in this
light truth is an element that can be manipulated through language.
His use of language is designed to enhance the control that the pigs have over the rest of the farm.
When squealer uses language as his weapon he constantly puts particular spins on events and

This, together with Boxer s enormous strength, is what makes him a threat to the pigs; they
desperately need him for his enormous capacity for work and example but, if that strength were to be
turned against them because he unwittingly alerted the rest of the animals to their corruption, then
their regime would be finished.
This fact is why Boxer is viewed as a treat, despite being an ally napoleon ultimately took the first
chance he had to get rid of boxer, and why his eventual fate comes about. Napoleon took full
advantage of the disposal of Boxer and knew once he was gone the threat of Napoleon being over
thrown was banished, Because even if the animals tried to revolt or protest, he would be able to take
control with his almighty army of beast like dogs.
While the betrayal of Boxer is not, the true climax, one could indeed construe this event in such a way
that it legitimizes as an alternative climax. After all, the betrayal of Boxer is nearly equal in the
importance to the banishment of Snowball, politically speaking.
Of all of the Characters in Animal Farm, are there any who seem to represent the point of view of the
author? Which animals or people do you think come(s) closet to achieving Orwell s perspective on
Animal Farm?
George Orwell brings to life many characters in the novel Animal Farm; He introduces very
interesting Characters like Boxer and Benjamin who portray some

Essay on An Ex-Mas Feast Summary
An Ex Mas Feast Summary Uwem Akpan s story, An Ex Mas Feast is a story of the struggles that one
family goes through to give gifts on their upcoming Christmas season. Akpan introduces the reader to
the struggles of the main characters, which directly ties into the details of impoverished town that they
live in. Jigana, one of the story s main characters, starts off as a naïve 8 year old little boy who was
anxious to start going to school. In a stark contrast, Maisha, the eldest sister at 12 years old, held her
own and prostituted to bring in money for her family. The second oldest, Naema, was closer to Maisha
than any of the others, and Maisha gave her tips and tricks of her trade. Akpan begins the story by

As a result of this newfound concept that Maisha is considering going into the brothel, Jigana
undergoes a big transformation. He states adamantly that if she is going to the brothel, he will not go
to school. This begins the climax of the story, and in response to his claim, she says that she will not
support the family any more if Jigana doesn t go to school. When he brings up their parents in front of
the other prostitutes, Maisha gets extremely angry and ends up ignoring him for weeks. From there,
their life continues, and the siblings continue struggling to make ends meet; nevertheless, they still
take Baby out to earn a little extra money. When Naema comes home from her shift with Baby, she
announces that Maisha is moving out tomorrow, full time. Akpan makes an important point at this
point of the story saying that no matter how rootless and cheap street life may be, you could still be
broken by departures (21). Consequently, Jigana begins feeling guilty that Maisha is leaving, as if he
could have stopped her from leaving if he had just joined a street gang so that she wouldn t be tempted
by the musungu men to make money. Jigana then starts to have nasty thoughts, now blaming the white
tourists who lure Maisha in their Jaguars and take advantage of her young self. He begins plotting
ways he could get back at them, by enlisting the help of Naema s powerful boyfriend, and hurting
them with their dull blades.

A Cream Cracker Under the Settee
How does Alan Bennett create a character that it both comical and sad? Explain why he wrote this
monologue.
A Cream Cracker under the Settee is a monologue of a character named Doris, who is in her 70 s and
is coming to the end of her life. She fell whilst cleaning a picture of her and her deceased husband
Wilfred on their wedding day, in her living room where most of the play is set.
The writer Alan Bennett , reveals allot about old aged pensioners through Doris, She portrays the
typical old lady, who uses speech that we wouldn t normally use in this day and age. Many old people
have petty concerns that they obsess over; Doris s petty concerns are cleanliness and hygiene which in
most ways makes the audience laugh throughout the play. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
What really does get on Doris s nerves is the way that Doris leaves the gate open when she leaves, so
that all day she can hear the alarming echo of the crashing gate which makes Doris s ears quake.
Being as the gate is open makes it seem like nobody is home, which invites small irritating children to
use her garden as a toilet. When this happens Doris gets very mad because she can t get up and tell
them to get lost.
Doris is very `judgemental` towards Zulema. She sees her as an arrogant controlling cleaner, who can
t clean for her life. Doris thinks that she doesn t need Zulema there at all, that she can look after
herself, she can cope perfectly well on her own even though she knows it is a lie. Zulema is constantly
telling Doris s that her next and last home will be Stafford house and I am the only person who stands
between you and Stafford house and follows Zulema how is she coping? Wouldn t she be better off in
Stafford house? which also frightens Doris into being tough. Zulema bosses Doris about allot, tells her
what to do all the time for example, Doris, the ewbank is out of bounds You don t have to clean the
bath. Let the dirt wait. It won t kill you .

Essay on The Many Benefits of Genetically Modified Foods
Have you eaten any dairy products lately? If so, theres a large chance you have eaten genetically
modified foods without even knowing it. About 70 80% of all food are genetically modified in the
United States (Williams). Genetically modified foods benefit us, economically, environmentally, and
health wise. Although they may present health problems, no proof has been shown. GMOs are very
new to our world. There have been many protests against them lately as they continue to expand and
feed our growing population. European environmental organizations and public groups have been
against it for months. The U.S Food and Drug Administration also began worrying about GMOs after
recent effects on monarch butterfly caterpillars were ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With crops being modified to kill weeds by itself, weed killing spray is no longer needed, which saves
a lot of money (Whitman 2). Salmon that is engineered to grow faster can help America s fish farming
business. This will save money because farm raised fish is very expensive (Greenwood). In many
ways GMOs are just as good for our planet as the people in it. Food that has been modified stops
pesticides from eating the crops which saves run off agricultural wastes from excessive use of
pesticides and fertilizers which can poison the water supply (Whitman 2). Some plants have also been
genetically engineered to help clean up pollution in the air. More land is also becoming available for
housing because plants can tolerate inhospitable places (Whitman 3). Frankenfish , or genetically
modified fish help fish stocks while also helping the emptying fish supply (Greenwood). Even with all
of the benefits it has to offer, not everyone is a fan of GMOs. Many critics fear they can present
problems to our health. Putting a new gene into something may cause a serious allergic reaction. After
eating GM foods many kids developed serious allergies. This can be solved by making GM plants that
don t make pollen. GM foods also may have unknown effects on human health although nothing has
been proven (Whitman 7). Faster growing fish has been researched for over 20 years and not one
person has ever experienced an effect from the fish (Greenwood). Critics fear that Frankenfish

Esperanza Rising Analysis
In this excerpt from Esperanza Rising called Asparagus the character Esperanza thinks negatively of
the American Dream, the thought that America has fairness, and opportunity for everyone. I agree
with Esperanza. People may think that America is the land of opportunity, but not everyone gets it. In
America opportunities are not given equal, and these unequal opportunities reflects biased. In
Asparagus Esperanza realizes that not everyone has equal opportunities. Some have better
opportunities than others. Miguel usually works on train engines, but as Miguel explains one day, A
group of men showed up from Oklahoma. . . Some of them had never even worked on a motor before.

The Chernobyl Disaster Of 1986 Essay
Sometimes it takes a natural disaster to reveal a social disaster (J.Wallis). A natural disaster can be an
environmental, technological, or human error. A natural disaster reveals a true society for how they
recover from such devastation. The true potential that we have in all of us to come together and
become stronger is astounding. After a disaster occurs, we want to learn what went wrong, how it
went wrong, who was involved, and if there was any rules broking. For that we can evolve our society
to become stronger. There have been many engineering disaster throughout the world. Some
engineering disasters include St. Francis Dam flooding, the Boston molasses disaster, and the 1970 s
DC 10 disasters. However, one of the most memorable disasters has to be the nuclear reactor
explosion in Chernobyl in Soviet Union. The Chernobyl disaster of 1986 is truly one of the worst
engineering disasters that have ever occurred. This explosion is the only level 7 on the International
Nuclear Event Scale and also the worst nuclear power plant accident to the day. This disaster occurred
due to human error because one of the workers decided to create his rules and not obey the true
procedure.
On April 26 1986, the fourth unit of 4 of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant was to close down for a
schedule maintenance check. During this operation, a test was decided to experiment the capability of
the equipment to establish enough power to operate the reactor core cooling system. This

The Cruelty Of Solitary Confinement Essay
It was in a brainstorming situation that I discovered the topic of discussion I wanted to hear a
convincing opposition against. I knew that choosing something more controversial would garner a
greater opposition, but at the same time, I wanted to avoid topics that seemed almost too
commonplace in assignments like this. With that in mind, I decided to hear out the opposition against
my view of the inhumanity of solitary confinement. The person with whom I discussed, who will be
referred to as Person X for the purposes of this write up, believed that in certain situations, solitary
confinement was a just punishment. We had this discussion waiting for our Microbiology class to
begin. Bringing up random topics of discussion is not something unusual within the scope of my
character, and so rather than wait for an opportunity that would not present itself, I simply asked
Person X for his/her opinion on solitary confinement as a justified punishment for convicted criminals.
To give the discussion some direction and so that I could better understand Person X s point of view I
asked some questions. The two most important I found being: Why do you feel that it s okay to punish
people like that in some cases but not in others? and How long is too long? . I found these questions
particularly helpful in understanding Person X s position because I noticed that he/she didn t
completely agree with either one side. He/she was intent on making a point based on conditionality.

Steroids And Baseball The Ultimate Strike-Out Research Paper
Steroids and Baseball: The Ultimate Strike Out
For as long as sports have been around, countless numbers of athletes have been driven towards being
the best, and doing whatever it takes to become successful. As sports become more competitive, many
athletes strive to find a way to improve their strengths and abilities. One possible solution to the
problem, is with the help of performance enhancing drugs (PEDs), also known as steroids. Steroids
first came to flourishing in Major League Baseball (MLB) in the 1970s, when Tom House a former
pitcher in (MLB) openly recognizing that there were multiple players per team experimenting with
steroids and human growth hormones. During the 1900s steroids quickly became much more
excessive and widespread, according to Juicin in The Majors: A History of steroids in baseball written
by Joshua Z. Lavine February, 2013. By the 1990s, steroids had become an epidemic....Rick Helling, a
pitcher for the Texas Rangers and a player representative, stood up at the winter meeting of the
Executive Board of the Major League Baseball Players Association and reported this problem...
Despite the pitchers cry and plea for awareness of the problem, he was ignored. Eventually the
statistical evidence on the issue had come full force and much too strong to ignore. During the 1990s

The Bank of New York and it s History Essay
The Bank of New York and it s History On February 23, 1784, a small advertisement appeared in The
New York Packet, one of the many New York newspapers of that era. This advertisement announced
that prominent New York citizens had established a bank. The bank, established by the prominent,
would not officially open for business until June 9, 1784. That bank would come to be known as the
bank of New York. Alexander Hamilton, a well known New York attorney, was asked to write the
constitution of the new bank. He complied and therefore Alexander Hamilton was credited with the

In 1969, through the establishment of a bank holding company, the Bank expanded beyond New York
City, establishing a suburban branch network that remains today.
Global expansion began with an office in London in 1966, but a major breakthrough occurred with the
acquisition of The Irving Bank Corporation in 1988. This acquisition created the tenth largest bank at
that time and set the stage for what the Bank of New York is today. The acquisitions of National
Community Banks in New Jersey and The Putnam Trust Company in Connecticut in the 1990 s
continued the expansion of the Bank of New York s branch network. The Bank of New York has had a
series of business acquisitions in securities servicing that enabled them to become a recognized leader
in that area. Over the last several decades, the corporate branch of the Bank of New York has come to
be known as a banker to the largest corporations in America and in special industries such as
telecommunications and energy. In closing, it is rare for a business or institution to last over 200 years
as has the Bank of New York. It was able to do so by adapting to the times and providing excellent
services to its clients.

Alcoholics Should NOT Be Eligible to Receive Organ...
In modern medicine, we have the ability to transplant organs from one person to another, with the
hopes that this will greatly improve the length and quality of life for the patient receiving the
transplant. Ten years ago, there were 53,167 people on the transplant list. By the beginning of 2015,
the list increased to over 123,000 people waiting for that miracle call stating that they found a match
and the transplant can now happen. One reason for the increase in people on the list is that people in
the age group between 50 70 years old are now considered to be viable candidates for transplant due
to medical advances. However, by December, 2014, twenty one people were dying each day while
waiting for a transplant. (Benjamin Samstein, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There is even a possibility of creating embryonic stem cells from the patient by cloning their own
cells. (Perry) A person, who has trashed their body with alcoholism and required a transplant, should
not be eligible for a second transplant if they again were abusing alcohol. Especially over a person, to
no fault of their own, is battling a liver disease. In an article from the Canadian Medical Association
Journal by E. Kluge, he states that people who engage in poor lifestyle choices are behaving
irresponsibly and could have prevented their illness and are, in essence, increasing the need for organs
and depriving people who have no control over their need of necessary treatment. (Kluge, 2004)
People suffering from psychosis, dementia, Down Syndrome, malignant cancers, and continuing
substance or not eligible for transplants, active alcoholics are not eligible because of their unhealthy
lifestyle would only result in the failure of the new liver. Based on long term studies of alcoholism,
remissions and relapses, there are factors that indicate favorable outcomes. If the patient is involved in
activities to take the place of the drinking, being in a caring long term relationship and having a
positive self esteem will help with sobriety. If at least two of these factors are present, the patient is
more likely to remain abstinent for three years or more. (Abhinandana Anantharaju) When a doctor is

The Equal Protection Clause Of The Fourteenth Amendment
The equal protection clause of the Fourteenth Amendment to the Constitution was at first created to
protect against racial discrimination, but the Supreme Court later expanded the clause to also
providing equal treatment amongst different races. The clause says, No state shall...deny to any person
within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws (U.S. Constitution. Art./Amend. XIV, Sec. 1.) A
person could not be discriminated upon solely because of his or her race and if the law treated a group
of people differently, then a valid reason for the discrepancy of different treatment must exist. Racial
minorities, but mainly women, have historically been subjected and made vulnerable to harsh
restrictions on activities such as voting, attending college, and working as lawyers. These restrictions,
based on stereotypes overlooked the actual capability and potential of each individual woman. For
many cases dealing with discrimination of women, the Court looked to another important element of
equal protection, which stated that unfair treatment couldn t be based on immutable distinctions, such
as race and gender, because those fixed distinctions are uncontrollable and unrelated to ability. In the
case of Frontiero v. Richardson, 411 U.S. 677 (1973), the Supreme Court was just one vote short of
adopting gender as a suspect classification. In United States v. Virginia, 518 U.S. 515 (1996), women
rights supporters were very pleased with the Supreme Court s ruling and remain

Observations In Homer s Odyssey
Homer attributed author of the Odyssey is an enigma of mystery and wonder with unique tendencies.
Since Homer was born in an era of pre literacy, much speculation surrounds his birth ( Homer 6). He
was supposedly the son of Epikaste and Telemachus born around 8th to 7th century B.C. However,
this is all conjecture since his ancestry is being traced from the Odyssey. Several cities claim Homer
as their native son, yet the most compelling deduction is he was born in Ionia; the reasoning behind
this is that the dialect that The Odyssey was written in is considered Ionic Greek ( Homer 9). Whether
he even existed is considered to be a great literary mystery coined the Homeric Question ( Homer 5).
Nevertheless, he is said to be a bard

Toxic Level To Decay Lab Report
TIME FOR TOXIC LEVEL TO DECAY USING FIRST ORDER ELIMINATION RATE
CONSTANT IN RELATION TO HALF LIFE A patient has a potentially toxic level of a drug that is
16.0 mg/L. Given that the half life of this drug in this patient is 24 hours, and assuming that renal
function is stable and absorption is complete, it is important to figure out how long should drug
administration be stopped to allow the level to fall to the steady state of 1.0 mg/L. First the the
elimination rate constant (k) has to be calculated. t1/2=0.693k k = 0.693t1/2 k = 0.69324 k=0.0289 hr

Balanced Scorecards Of Managerial Accounting
Balanced Scorecards in Managerial Accounting There is a great deal of struggles Managers face when
it comes to accounting related decisions. Financial reports are often conducive in coming up with
resolutions regarding company operations, but they don t necessarily contribute to the direct goals and
missions of said companies. Individuals such as Nolan Norton and Robert Kaplan were among the
first group to recognize the dilemma of solely relying on financial reports and the outcome resulted in
what is now known as a balanced scorecard (Bible, Kerr, Zanini, 2006, p. 18). In an article written by
Larry Bitner and Mary Myers (2010), Kaplan and Norton state that balanced scorecards are used for

18). What eventually resulted from these meetings is the balanced scorecard. According to Bible, Kerr,
and Zanini (2006), Kaplan and Nolan s group: Companies use four common perspectives in their
scorecard, supplementing these with a number of customized perspectives as needed. The four
perspectives were: financial, customer, internal, and innovation and learning. Each perspective helped
answer a basic performance question: How do we look to shareholders? How do customers see us?
What must we excel at? Can we improve and create value? (p. 19) This concept was initially
summarized in an article in the Harvard Business Review in 1992 followed by two subsequent articles
to expand and improve the strategy with the third article setting new standards and encouraging
companies from all over to adopt the ideas companies (Bible et al., 2006, p. 19). Since it was
originally published the concept of the balanced scorecard has changed and grown significantly. The
main goal of the balanced scorecard as described by Loreta Valančienė and Edita Gimžauskienė
(2007) is [to measure] consistency of organizational strategic goals and measures for their
achievements . Basically it takes into consideration other factors besides just financial reports and
keeps all aspects of the business in line. An example of this

Metaphors In Tango Dance
Metaphors can consist of activities, circumstances or associations. An example of a cultural metaphor
would be Tango, a sensual dance that reflects the spice of the food, the rhythm of the instruments and
the passion for life in Argentina. The Tango intertwines with the tunes of Tango, which is composed of
the sounds of the solo guitar, violin, flute, piano, double bass, bandoneóns. There is a direct link and
connection between metaphors and culture that defines an expression of Argentinian culture. There are
many elements in the creation and origin of a metaphor that help define the connection and bond
within that culture. Tango, for instance, has many elements in its history that result in the

Europeans adjusted the politics of Argentina and introduced new movements from their countries,
including labor unity, abolishment of government restraint and communism. Many changes took place
in the country, resulting in shifts of the Tango movement from its peak of acceptance to when it was
forced underground and to where Tango stands today. The Great Depression caused the GDP in
Argentina to drop between 1929 and 1932 but soon recovered in the 1930s with a trade and economic
policy that supported replacing foreign imports with domestic production. World War II led to a
decrease in available imports, which resulted in higher prices for exports. Soon after, the country
began to benefit from self financing and government loans that added value to the manufacturing
system and opened up an opportunity for employment. In addition, the British arrived in Argentina
and began to develop a railway network across the country. The railway changed Argentina from
being uninhabited to being a very convenient place with rising wealth. The railway created an
opportunity for exportation of agricultural produce and minerals. These changes, then created jobs and
a high demand for workers as

  • 2. A Negative Way Of People Can Make Others Feel Welcome And... After considering the list of ways people can make others feel welcome and valued or like outsiders: I have come to the conclusion that each event listed could be interpreted in a positive way and used for good or may be interpreted in a negative way and used to fuel my oppression. For example, Whether we look at people when we talk with them , one way of looking at that would be to interpret that person as snobbish and they are not paying attention. Another way of looking at it would be to understand that they are shy, or uncomfortable with people. The negative reaction focuses on Me , my wants, my needs, and how that person is not fulfilling them. The positive reaction focuses on Them , understanding their wants, their needs, and how that person might be feeling. I challenge you to look at each of those situations and find two results: one that hinders my growth and one that excels my growth. I believe the goal is always to make others feel welcome and valued. Although, people say stupid things and their intentions are genuinely good. In my opinion it is never o.k. to intentionally berate another human being. Likewise, if you cannot say something encouraging do not speak. If you are asked, speak the truth in love. Likewise, sometimes the truth hurts and we like to justify our actions and blame others. I talk to so many clients during the day and many of them say stupid remarks, but I know they do not mean animosity towards me or anyone else. We must use discernment to ... The policies and procedures will be implemented using access control models. These models will work to enforce the rules and objectives of our security policy and will also dictate user access. Using a discretionary access control (DAC) model will allow the owner of the resources to control who has access as well as the operations that can be performed. Access will be based on the identity of the user and the role that the user plays within the company. This can be done through access control lists (ACLs), where permission is granted on a need to know basis. References Bera, P. P., Ghosh, S. K., amp; Dasgupta, P. P. (2010). • 9. Grade Rate And Its Effect On College Education Title Grade inflation is the increase in grade point averages without an associated increase in student ability. This increase, however so slight, has had a profound effect on college education across the board. It undermines the only scale to which aptitude is readily tested, devalues a degrees worth, and while it shields students from failure in the classroom, it does not prepare them to deal with it later in life. Sadly, grade inflation occurs at almost every level of learning. Some may say that students are just smarter (Primack 79). However, as a knowledge base increases, the grading scale should expand slightly to fit it. Meaning that even if students are smarter, course work will become tougher to challenge those students (Harding 21). The grading scale will only shift so to speak to include the increase in knowledge. For example, when I finished middle school, I transferred to an Early College. I had heard it would be difficult, but I had no clue just how hard it would be. My entire life up to that point had been full of successes and most importantly, grades that never dropped below an A. Before Early College, I had never had to study for a test, or really even do my homework to the best of my ability. On the first test, I made an 80. I was shocked. After talking to my principal, I realized that in middle school, trying wasn t needed to get a good grade. But at Early College, I had to put forth the effort to get the grade I wanted. • 10. Why Did The Crusade Persuasive Essay 2. Why do you think this language motivated people in the audience like Fulcher of Chartres to join the crusade? What did the crusade have to offer them? This language motivated people because it was persuasive and gave the crusaders benefits like being redeemed. It would motivate people because it declares that the crusades are what God would want for the Christians to fight against the Turks and Arabs. The crusades offered them with being pardoned from sins and criminal actions such as robbery. Fighting in the crusades were seen as becoming equal, no division between the rich and poor, they are fighting for the same cause. 3. How does Urban II cast himself in this speech? My BATNA is to deal with other seller for similar used car. Eventually, I couldn t make any deal with seller during the negotiation because he wanted to sell at $5,000 and his extra accessory offer is not worth $500. How do the pigs rewrite history? In the book animal farm, Orwell very carefully created his characters in order to mimic certain political figures of the time. In this case Squealer functioned as the propaganda department. Squealer uses language to keep Napoleon in power. He uses language as a means to consolidate power, in this light truth is an element that can be manipulated through language. This fact is why Boxer is viewed as a treat, despite being an ally napoleon ultimately took the first chance he had to get rid of boxer, and why his eventual fate comes about. Napoleon took full advantage of the disposal of Boxer and knew once he was gone the threat of Napoleon being over thrown was banished, Because even if the animals tried to revolt or protest, he would be able to take control with his almighty army of beast like dogs. While the betrayal of Boxer is not, the true climax, one could indeed construe this event in such a way that it legitimizes as an alternative climax. Akpan introduces the reader to the struggles of the main characters, which directly ties into the details of impoverished town that they live in. Jigana, one of the story s main characters, starts off as a naïve 8 year old little boy who was anxious to start going to school. In a stark contrast, Maisha, the eldest sister at 12 years old, held her own and prostituted to bring in money for her family. When he brings up their parents in front of the other prostitutes, Maisha gets extremely angry and ends up ignoring him for weeks. From there, their life continues, and the siblings continue struggling to make ends meet; nevertheless, they still take Baby out to earn a little extra money. When Naema comes home from her shift with Baby, she announces that Maisha is moving out tomorrow, full time. Akpan makes an important point at this point of the story saying that no matter how rootless and cheap street life may be, you could still be broken by departures (21). Consequently, Jigana begins feeling guilty that Maisha is leaving, as if he could have stopped her from leaving if he had just joined a street gang so that she wouldn t be tempted by the musungu men to make money. Jigana then starts to have nasty thoughts, now blaming the white tourists who lure Maisha in their Jaguars and take advantage of her young self. He begins plotting ways he could get back at them, by enlisting the help of Naema s powerful boyfriend, and hurting them with their dull blades. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Equal Protection Clause Of The Fourteenth Amendment The equal protection clause of the Fourteenth Amendment to the Constitution was at first created to protect against racial discrimination, but the Supreme Court later expanded the clause to also providing equal treatment amongst different races. The clause says, No state shall...deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws (U.S. Constitution. Art./Amend. XIV, Sec. 1.) A person could not be discriminated upon solely because of his or her race and if the law treated a group of people differently, then a valid reason for the discrepancy of different treatment must exist. Racial minorities, but mainly women, have historically been subjected and made vulnerable to harsh restrictions on activities such as voting, attending college, and working as lawyers. These restrictions, based on stereotypes overlooked the actual capability and potential of each individual woman. For many cases dealing with discrimination of women, the Court looked to another important element of equal protection, which stated that unfair treatment couldn t be based on immutable distinctions, such as race and gender, because those fixed distinctions are uncontrollable and unrelated to ability. In the case of Frontiero v. Richardson, 411 U.S. 677 (1973), the Supreme Court was just one vote short of adopting gender as a suspect classification. In United States v.
