Lee Harvey s Assassination Research Paper
Lee Harvey Oswald was accused of assassinating John F. Kennedy. John F. Kennedy was assassinated
on November 22, 1963. Later that day a policeman addressed Harvey about the shooting, because he
matched the description of the suspect but was then shot and killed by Harvey. On the same day,
Harvey was arrested for the murders of both the president and the policeman. Two days later, during a
jail transfer to a maximum security cell, Lee Harvey Oswald was shot. There were people lined up on
the sides of the jail during his transfer to see him and the gun that he used, but while he was walking
to the truck to take him to the new jail, Jack Ruby a nightclub owner murdered him. Assassinations
occur for many reasons, Lee Harvey Oswald s assassination was because of revenge. Jack Ruby was

A clear majority of voters (61%) would choose a punishment other than the death penalty for murder
(Death Penalty Information Center). This comes from DPIC, they released this information in 2010
about the viewpoints of people about the death penalty. According to this statistic, more than half of
the people think there should be no death penalty. Therefore, Jack Ruby s killing of Lee Harvey
Oswald was not justified since the assassination is the same as the death penalty. The killing of a
President is wrong, in fact, the killing of anyone is wrong. The majority of people liked John F.
Kennedy as a President. For example, he handled the Cuban Missile Crisis. Since he was a very
popular President, his assassination was devastating to so many Americans. Even though John F.
Kennedy is the President, he is still a person. Lee Harvey Oswald similarly is still a person even
though he did something devastating. Therefore, both of the assassinations were not

Well let s ask our environmental expert. It is possible for them to become a carbon positive club which
means they require less energy consumption or by having a net zero carbon footprint. I strongly
believe this can be achieved by solar panel incorporation and water re usage. The goal is to become a
zero carbon footprint club and this achieved by the aims which are to introduce solar panels and water
re useage. In regards to Solar power this can be steadily achieved with roofed panels and solar floor
panels that gain energy through New Yorks brilliant weather. Onyx solar have recently development
an innovative design in order promote carbon footprint minimization, through these solar panel this

Learning Theory Essay
I. Presuppositions/truth claims:
Human beings are created creatures with predetermined human (distinct and separate from animal)
potential and an in born slavery to imperfection/sin. Learners may have experienced God s redemption
and therefore may opt to perform in a way which will show itself at times and/or the residual benefit
of being made in God s image may at times prevail, such as a humanitarian s actions or a child doing
good . God positions man in his fallen and therefore sinful state as neither essentially good nor even
simply neutral, so the innate/native moral nature of humans is bad.
Human beings are psychologically interactive. Because humans are created in the image of God; we

Automated processes are those stored in long term memory but accessed subconsciously or
autonomously.
Environmental input may or may not be processed into the human s long term memory, and may not
even be acknowledged/receive attention/be perceived in a person s short term memory . Short term
memory permits the human s conscious direct interaction with environmental factors. Humans are
interactive, constantly processing incoming sensory information by comparing and contrasting
(assimilation/accommodation) and recombining it with schematas/templates/prototypes or building
upon scaffolding already in the mind. Motivation to learn is native/intrinsic to humans and the degree
to which one participates is encouraged or discouraged by many factors. These factors include the
status of the person s basic needs (current physiological and/or psychological state) and anticipation of
outcome (advantage/disadvantage) of gaining said knowledge.
Understanding is connecting (compare/contrast then integrate) new ideas to pre existing ones, forming
meanings, expectations, generalizations, and sometimes new concepts (insights may fall anywhere in
this process). III. Practical Applications:

Cultural Conflict Between Sunni And Shiite Factions
This short paper serves to relate various themes inclusive to cultural conflict in modern day Iraq
between Sunni and Shiite Factions as well as the emerging threat of ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and
Syria). This analysis will show how ISIS is utilizing ongoing cultural strife between predominately
Sunni (Western Iraq; Al Anbar Province), Shiite (Eastern Iraq, and Kurdish (Northern Iraq; Mosul) to
further destabilize certain regions and attempt to gain influence over segments of the population. Iraq
s borders, which were originally defined by British powers after World War I, have largely failed to
account for the cultural differences in peoples between the country s provinces. As ISIS becomes a
more organized and prevalent force in the region, it can be argued that they are attempting to
legitimize themselves as a culture with emerging borders in both Iraq and Syria. The legitimacy of
ISIS as an emerging cultural group largely depends on their ability to influence the local population
and gain support for their objectives. This paper will address how the existing Iraqi Central
Government may be failing its obligation to protect the economic, social, and cultural rights of
particular groups (namely in Kurdish and Sunni populated territories). Additionally, this paper will
attempt to address several questions that may be indicators of whether ISIS has the ability to sustain
itself over time. Firstly, is ISIS capitalizing on the centralized government s perceived failures

Communicable Disease: MERS Outbreak In September of 2012, beginning in the country of Saudi
Arabia, hospitals began seeing increased cases of a respiratory virus never before seen in humans.
They named it Middle East Respiratory Syndrome, or MERS. MERS is a viral respiratory illness
caused by the coronavirus. It was originally thought to have started there in Saudi Arabia. It was not
until later that they were able to trace the origin back to Jordan starting in April of 2012. All outbreaks
of MERS have been traced back to originating from the Arabian Peninsula (CDC, 2015a).
Unfortunately, it is not known exactly how MERS was contracted in humans, but it is believed to have
come from an animal source, probably from camels. Strains of MERS ... Show more content on

March of 2013 a man from United Arab Emirates died from MERS in a German hospital. It was
discovered that that man had racing camels. It was at this time that suspicions were raised about
camels being a source for MERS. Saudi Arabia had another outbreak in May 2013 at a hospital in Al
Ahsa. In May 2014, Saudi Arabia and UAE began reporting increasing numbers of infected cases.
That same month, cases were exported to the United States, Greece, Philippines, and Malaysia (The
Canadian Press, 2014). The cases continued to spread in 2015. According to WHO, as of 2015 the
following countries had identified MERS cases:
2012 Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Germany, and the UK.
2013 France, Germany, Italy, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, UAE, UK
2014 Algeria, Australia, Egypt, Greece, Iran, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Malaysia, Netherlands, Oman,
Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, UAE, U.S.A., Yemen
2015 China, Germany, Iran, Oman, Philippines, Qatar, Korea, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, UAE (WHO,
2015).
Epidemiological Determinants
Route and Risk Factors:
MERS is spread by contact with an infected person or persons. It is a zoonotic disease that is believed
to have been spread originally from camels through direct or indirect contact. When spread from
person to person, MERS is spread easily to a caregiver of an infected person who is not using proper
precautions such as gloves

The Nazi Occupation Of Crete Summary
Book Review: The Nazie Occupation of Crete, 1941 1945
G.C. Kiriakopoulos is a dentistry professor at Columbia University. Kiriakopoulos is a Fellow of the
Royal Society in Great Britain and is a highly decorated veteran of World War II. He has written two
books Ten Days to Destiny: The Battle for Crete and The Nazi Occupation of Crete, 1941 1945. His
first book, Ten Days to Destiny: The Battle for Crete, has been praised as the most authentic
documentation of the battle.
This book details a true story of American John Alexander. Alexander vacationed to the island of Crete
in Greece with his sister and parents to visit his grandparents. However, Alexander s peaceful vacation
was interrupted by the invasion of Germany. Germany had launched the first airborne invasion of an
island fortress on the beautiful paradise. The Cretan people and their British, Australian, and New
Zealand allies fought the Germans for ten long, bloody days until they were finally defeated and Crete
was conquered.
During the days of occupation, Crete was heavily punished for their resistance. Within the first month,
two thousand civilians died at the hands of their cruel invaders. John Alexander s father was among
those two thousand perished souls. John s father, Nicholas, claimed neutrality as an American citizen,
nonetheless he hid three British soldiers. When the Nazis discovered this duplicity, they did not
hesitate in the disposing of Nicholas Alexander. The trespassers murdered John s father and dispatched
John to a prison camp for him to die, but John Alexander vowed vengeance and escaped his
confinement.
The Cretans and their allies did not give up when they were conquered, they fought with the Cretan
spirit of patriotism and did not give up. They banded together as one in resistance to the Nazi intruders
through the Cretan Resistance Movement. The Cretans battle for liberation from their Nazi oppressors
may not be widely known but the Cretans challenged their occupiers and fought till the very end.
The most pressing issue discussed in the book is, of course, the German occupation of the Grecian
island Crete. Kiriakopoulos goes into great detail about the ten day battle for the island. Major General

Implementing A Healthcare Information Infrastructure
CPOE Implementation Challenges
Many healthcare organizations remain focused on continually improving their operations to better
align with industry and government best practices. Specifically, the improvement in quality of
healthcare has gained interest among policy makers in recent years (Carlfjord, Lindberg, Bendtsen,
Nilsen Andersson, 2010, p. 1). This is likely because healthcare policy makers strive to overcome
some of the larger scale issues affecting the industry and patient care. One of the issues that hospitals
and other healthcare organizations want to correct is how many mistakes are made by healthcare
providers, as these errors negatively impact patient outcomes and open up healthcare organizations for
possible liability. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Hospitals have begun implementing Computerized Physician Order Entry (CPOE) systems intended to
streamline and computerize the process of maintaining patient records and prescribing medications.
These systems allow hospital administrators and healthcare professionals to quickly access clinical
guidelines, recommendations, patient information, and other factors critical to patient care all at once.
It was the intention of the hospital that the implementation and expense of this new system would
reduce the number of errors detected.
However, one case study at Springfield General Hospital demonstrated how sometimes these
implementation processes fail to make measurable improvements. In fact, at Springfield General
Hospital, the overall number of these types of mistakes increased after implementation instead of
reducing it. The hospital evaluated the situation and found glaring issues after its implementation of its
CPOE.
Implementation Challenges
In evaluating why the CPOE made the situation worse, first it is important to note that the information
listed within the system was not accurate. Healthcare providers relied upon the data within the CPOE
to make decisions in terms of dosage and possible medication interactions. However, the dosages
listed in the CPOE display, however, are based on the pharmacy s warehousing and purchasing
decisions, not clinical guidelines (Spector, 2013, p. 148). The warehousing and

Bill Monroe Research Papers
William Smith Monroe, also known as Bill Monroe, was born in the mountains of Kentucky by a
small farm on September 13, 1911. J.B. Monroe, the father of Bill, decided to name his son after his
two brothers. Bill Monroe was most famous for creating a new style of American country folk music
style called Blue Grass . The name originated from his popular band, Blue Grass Boys , which started
in 1938. Despite people believing that his music was considered country, Bill Monroe is titled as The
Father of Blue Grass . He was also known for popularizing the Mandolin instrument. Bill Monroe
played the Mandolin because his older brothers, Charlie and Birch, would not allow him to play the
fiddle or guitar. His first instrument was a little Neapolitan style mandolin and he would never touch
another instrument for the rest of his career. Bill Monroe started his music career with his older
brothers and their band was called The Monroe Brothers . However, their chemistry as a band started
to fall. According to Richard D. Smith, By 1938, some fans of the Monroe Brothers noticed they were
beginning to arrive at shows separately and not speaking to each other, ignoring each other to the point
where they almost seemed facing in different directions onstage (Smith, pg. 44). The problem with the

African American Racial Tension
The history in the United States, has created several issues weather it involves, women s rights,
politics, or the wars that Americas have fought in. However, the issue that has caused the most conflict
throughout the years in the United States is racial tension. Racial tension was first created in the
United States, when the citizens of Europe decided that they no longer wished to do their own labor,
and instead they went to Africa and stole and enslaved the individuals of that country. However, after
several years of despicable events, the Africans who were enslaved were now free by law. Converting
from once being a slave to now wanting to be treated as in equal in the United States was a great
challenge. The white citizens of America ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The rioters could not be controlled. Throughout the riots, majority of the attacks were being caused by
white civilians, who were forming mobs of fifty plus members to go around town and torment or kill
black civilians. These mobs were assaulting the blacks in the community by stabbing them, shooting
them, or beating them up. And a lot of the violence that these mobs were causing usually resulted in
the death of several blacks. The blood that was shed, only increased the violence and anger throughout
the city of Chicago. This created an engagement for the black communities to begin to attack the white
community members back, harming them as well. Near the end of the five days of the riot,
approximately 500 Chicagoans of both races were injured. Leaving 16 blacks, and 15 whites dead.
The riots in Chicago in 1919, should not have come as a surprise in Americas history. This is due to
the racial violence and racial tension between blacks and whites that has occurred throughout the
years. The race riot in Chicago was not the only riot that had taken place in America. In fact, there
were 26 total race riots throughout the United States. For instance, during the 1800s there were race
riots in New York, Cincinnati, Ohio, and Philadelphia just to name a few. These riots were said to be
triggered by the interracial labor conflict. Since African Americans wanted better lives for themselves

Aztec Economic System
Pre Hispanic Aztecs had an extremely economic based society, with a complex system of trade. Some
people even argue that the Aztecs becoming centralized into city states was just as much do to with
economics as politics, perhaps even more so (Nichols). The central base for Aztec trade was in the
basin of Mexico and consisted of the Triple alliance capitals of Tenochtitlan, Texcoco, and Otumba.
Aztecs had rulers as well as social elites that made alliances with other regions of the empire. Social
elites would form alliances, despite political boundaries, based on trade. Rulers wanted to grow their
power by growing their economic system and gaining control over resources. Aztec city state rulers
taxed their vendors so it was beneficial to them ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the Early Post Classic Period archaeologists can see where alliances and trade patterns existed with
the two styles of Mazapan/Totlan, and Black on Orange Aztec I ceramics. The Mazapan/Totlan style is
found in the Eastern and Northern Basin while the Black on Orange Aztec I ceramics are found in the
southern Chalco Xochimilco area, in the north central Basin, and farther east (Nichols). The
distribution of these styles and the fact that they generally are not found in the same areas suggests
that they were exchanged in relation to ethnic and/or political ties. In the Middle Post Classic Period
ceramic exports from both the Texcoco, and Tenochtitlan regions increased. During this time Black on
Orange Aztec II ceramics were produced in both the Texcoco and the Tenochtitlan regions. Black on
Orange Aztec II ceramics from the Texcoco region are found at Cerro Portezuelo, while Black on

Christ in Majesty Essay
Christ in Majesty
Christ in Majesty is a Romanesque fresco secco from the 12th century that was transferred to plaster
and wood. It was originally located in the apse of the Church of Santa Maria de Mur in Catalonia,
Spain but now is located in the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston as a gift from the Maria Antoinette
Evans Fund. The fresco is a transition from Roman and Byzantine Art to Gothic Art. The artist of
Christ in Majesty utilizes his art to educate people in the doctrines of the Christian faith.
Christ in Majesty is a work of art made to emphasize religion and to teach illiterate people the
principles of Christianity. On the upper register one sees figures from the New Testament such as

Unlike Medieval painting, Roman painting does not have a specific scene to show nor a particular
doctrine to teach. Some scenes might denote the same theme, but the artist tries to individualize his
work by playing with the elements. In Romanesque painting the iconographical demands do not allow
artists to illustrate the same icons in different ways. To spread Christianity, the symbols need to remain
the same everywhere to make the message easier to understand. In Christ in Majesty the halo is an
example of the recurring iconographic element. A halo around someone s head means that the person
is a saint. Christ, the evangelists, and the Twelve Apostles have halos to point out their religious
significance. Individualization is no longer important on Medieval works because artists focus on the
expansion of the Christian message.
The figures in Christ in Majesty are less naturalistic than the ones in the Dionysiac mystery frieze
(second style Roman), located in the Villa of the Mysteries in Pompeii. The figures of Christ in
Majesty seem flatter because their outline is stronger than the ones on the Roman fresco. When the
artist outlines a form (a three dimensional figure), the form becomes a shape (a two dimensional
figure). The shadows in the Romanesque fresco are represented by thick black lines or by using
different tones. Under Christ eyes the spectator sees turquoise circles, instead of black circles. Around
the eyes of some of the Apostles, one can see shadows

The development of nanosponges has created a new way of neutralising and removing toxins from the
body. Toxins include pore forming toxins, which destroy healthy cells by creating holes in their
membranes. Nanosponges are biocompatible polymers of nanoparticles, which are coated with a
membrane similar to a red blood cell s to travel undetected through the body. This synthetic membrane
attracts toxins and inhibits them from damaging cell membranes. Upon reaching the liver, the toxin
and the nanosponge are eliminated from the body. Unlike other highly specific anti toxin platforms,
nanosponges can absorb a wide variety of toxins, regardless of molecular structures (Zhang et al,
2013). This broadens the treatment options for many pathogen related infections. Experimental results
show that pre inoculation with nanosponges allowed 89% of lab mice to survive lethal doses of toxins,
while administering nanosponges after the lethal doses allowed 44% of lab mice to survive. It was
observed that a single nanosponge could absorb up to 850 toxins, depending on the type of toxin
(Zhang et al, 2013). According to post doctoral researcher Che Ming Jack Hu, one of the first
applications of nanosponges will be an anti virulence treatment for MRSA, which is a bacterium that
is resistant to many antibiotics. The research was funded by the National Science Foundation and the

Comparing Story Of An Hour And The Interlopers
Compare and Contrast Essay
Reading short stories is often enjoyable, as each individual story varies quite a bit from the others.
Although short stories follow a pattern, they have many different themes. Though The Story of an
Hour by Kate Chopin and The Interlopers by Saki seem unrelated at first glance, there are similar
themes in both. The main character in The Story of an Hour is quite fragile and has a weak heart,
making her prone to heart attacks under duress, since she was afflicted with a heart trouble (Chopin).
She feels imprisoned by her husband, although he seems to love her. At the end of the story, she
receives a great shock and her heart fails. At the end of The Interlopers , the two men are trapped and
also supposedly get killed. However, the main characters are both brawny hunters, tough and
weathered. They despise each other, and their families disputed over a thin strip of forest for
generations because of A famous lawsuit, in the days of his grandfather, had wrested it from the illegal
possession of a neighboring family of petty landowners... (Saki) ... Show more content on

There is no danger from the surroundings, although the surroundings do play a crucial part in the
story, such as when she was drinking in a very elixir of life through that open window (Chopin). The
setting for The Interlopers is quite different than the setting for The Story of an Hour , being in a forest
at night, and during a raging storm. Without the trees and the storm, the story would likely be quite
different than it is. Both play crucial roles in the story, along with the wild animals in the forest,
evident in Ulrich s knowledge of a disturbing element in the forest (Saki) because of the creatures

Technology In Ww2
Technology has made a huge difference in the world since history, and it has been a reason why
people are more social. In the old times since the 1960 s to the 1980 s many people didn t knew where
many things came from or they didn t knew how it was made or know anything about technology.
Until, in the year 1440 printing press came as a form of technology to people that allowed them to
write news on newspapers and inform the people many things about what was going on in the world
and how many things were created. Whenever WW2 came that was when technology started to
develop more and it helped many soldiers create bombs and destroy houses and become more
powerful. In advantage it didn t helped them enough to win the war which is a good thing. One of the
most useful transportations that was used in WW2 was the railway also known as a train that was
created in 1804. It helped transport many jews to the concentration camps whenever WW2 started. ...

The Pros And Cons Of Insulin
List out various insulin preparation and briefly explain them. Insulin is a polypeptide hormone that
consist of two peptide chains connecting by disulphide bonds. It is synthesized as proinsulin

by four factors, which is blood glucose levels, certain amino acids, other hormones, and autonomic
mediators. Increasing in blood glucose is the most often factor that trigger insulin secretion. Insulin

For instance, insulin lispro is different to regular insulin in that the reverse positions of lysine and
proline at positions 28 and 29 in the B chain. This modification causes more rapid absorption, a
quicker onset, and a shorter duration of action due to decreases in hexameric insulin formation after
subcutaneous injection. Peak levels of Insulin lispro has peak levels at 30 to 90 minutes. Insulin aspart
and insulin glulisine have similar pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic properties with insulin
lispro. Rapid or short acting insulins are provided to mimic the prandial release of insulin during
prandial (mealtime) and to control postprandial glucose. They may also be used in cases where swift
alteration of elevated glucose to normal is needed. Injection of rapid acting insulin has been proven to
be more effective than regular insulin by which when they are administered pre meal, having 15 20
minutes onset of action compared to 30 minutes or above respectively. This shorter interval for insulin
injection pre meal is more acceptable for patients and leads to better adherence with prescribed
injection timing guidelines. Rapid acting insulins are commonly used in external insulin pumps and

Managing strategic change is fundamental to business success
Module No: 368SAM Module Title: Strategy in Action
Student Name: Zhi Long Sia Student ID: 5225745 Strategic change management is the management
decisions and process for long term structure in the organisation. The strategic change management
defined as the process as a systematic approach for managing strategic change which consists of
positioning the firm through strategy and capability planning, real time strategic response through
issue management and systematic management of resistance during strategic implementation (Karami,

change to achieve the required outcome of a change project.
Strategic change management has divided into three elements, which are situational awareness,
supporting structure and strategy analysis. To build up situational awareness had three steps. Firstly,
change characteristic. Understand of the change and who will be impacted by it. Next, organizational
attributes which mean work to understand the people or groups being impacted by the change. The
organizational attributes are related to the history and culture in the organization and describe the
backdrop against which this particular change is being introduced (Thompson, J. Martin, F. 2005:20).

Theme Of Guilt In Atonement
Both writers of the books Atonement and The Remains of The Day investigate the manners by which
the characters are responsible for enabling their imagination to dominate their perception of reality.
This then brings severe consequences that shape the rest of their stories throughout the novels. Regret
and guilt are depicted throughout both novels by the successful utilization of dialect that is used in the
books in the portrayal of emotions, or lack of, which also showed the tension between the characters.

Essay For Masters In Social Work
Indian nationalist leader Mahatma Gandhi once stated, The best way to find yourself is to lose
yourself in the service of others . This simple yet powerful quote motivates me to remain steadfast in
the mission of aiding others. I m pursing a Masters in social work because by working in this field, I
can educate, advocate, motivate, understand, and encourage resilience to clients from every walk of
life. It is a profession that will allow me to practice both on a micro and macro level simultaneously.
Lastly, working in social work gives me the capacity to challenge policies affecting disadvantaged
communities.
My interest in this field stems from growing up in a small, rural, poverty stricken town. This gave me
a unique perspective on the world. My hometown had many children with potential, but because they
did not have a positive outlet most of our future workforce leaders did not complete school. As a
professional, I want to create an outreach program designed for high school students, from low income
communities, that pushes and encourages them to stay in school and seek higher education. Currently
there are no programs in the area that offers educational assistance to these children. Considering the
lack of resources available, the need for such a program is evident. My solution is to use social work
to develop these types of services and create policies that can affect at risk youth in a positive way. I
am confident the social work program at Valdosta State University

Oedipus The King Vs Jocasta Essay
Plays are meant to be watched not just to be read. A play by definition is a dramatic performance. Do
you realize there are many more benefits to watching plays rather than reading plays? Watching plays
keep all the characters in the storyline, permits you to see emotions and heightens your experiences.
When you watch a play the audience is aware of all the characters weather they have speaking lines or
not. When reading a play the reader loses characters that do not show up on the page as they have no
speaking lines. The characters have a presence on stage interacting with the other characters even

Some of the ways the character emotions are expressed are by body language, facial expression and
movement. The dramatic performance adds to the developing and understanding of each character. As
in the play Oedipus the King, Jocasta appears on stage listening to Oedipus describe his fate. Her face
shows great concern as she covers her mouth in disbelief. The audience is aware that Jocasta
understands what has happened. She knows the entire plot. In print the reader is unaware that Jocasta
realizes the truth to the tragedy. Characters mood and emotions on stage add to the meaning of the
play. Plays are meant to be experienced. Characters come alive through their actions, mood, and
costumes. Watching a play becomes a multi sensory experience. The audience gains the benefit of the
playwright s script along with the actors interpretations and research. The stage lighting is used to add
to the mood and meaning of the story. Along with the lighting there are sound effects to enhance your
experience. Watching gives all these experiences where reading only gives dialogue. The dramatic
performance heightens the experience. There are many more benefits to watching plays rather than

these factors bring the effect on individual, community and society. Homelessness damages people s
possibility and capability of motivation and it can bring emotional health problems such as depression,
bipolar disorder and schizophrenia. A study reveals that 20 25% of homeless people, compared with
6% of the non homeless, have severe mental illness. (National Coalition,2009). This situation causes
even more harm for women as the researchers found homeless women are more likely to need support

Communities are affected by homeless people in various ways. Homelessness can often have a
negative impact on local communities as homeless people have to find some places to live and sleep,
places where they will stay can be benches outside, behind buildings, on the street and the parks.
Therefore, the brand value or image of the community can be reduced by homelessness on the street.
Unfortunately, tourists or non homeless people can feel uncomfortable or in danger when they walk by

Regardless of age and other circumstances of homelessness it is obvious that homelessness has a huge

Being The Only Child
I was always so content with being the only child, I got everything and my parent s attention was
always focused on me. The world revolved around me, but I felt lonely most of the time and longed to
have a little sibling throughout my younger years. That longing lasted until I was about nine and as I
got older the idea of ever having a younger sibling became perverse. He or she would be so annoying
and instead of having fun with them, I would have to take care of them. That was something I didn t
want. Then it happened. I was twelve years old when my mom and dad sat me down with the news
that I was going to be an older brother. It was October 13, 1995 when my little brother Christopher
was born. He was an odd looking little thing and I wanted nothing more than to return him, but my
mom said that was not possible. We were stuck with him. It was a tough transition, going from an old
child to having to share everything with Chris. He demanded so much attention and that bothered me
greatly. Family came from far and close to see him when before visits were exclusive to seeing me.
My dad, working as a commercial fisherman, couldn t wait to take little Chris to the boats when he
was old enough. My mom, a once working woman, now devoted all her time to taking care of Chris.

Although coming up with solution to those problems are challenging, at least I learned how to address

and precisely that experience is what shapes our perceptions of things. Thus, my empathy increased

understood that it is not in their power to change their economic situation, but it relies on the
institutions that do not allow them to earn better wages, or do not allow them to have the same
opportunities as others. My stereotypes were challenged with every social problem discussed in class.

Mackey Arena Game Analysis
Walking into Mackey Arena is like walking into a basketball shrine, filled with history. That history is

I was fortunate enough to be in Mackey Arena for this historical rivalry game and senior night, a game
that meant Purdue could take the Big Ten Title in a win. Purdue did just that, winning 86 to 75. I was
very pleased with the game and it exceeded all expectations I had for the huge rivalry. As a student
who has been to every home game this season, I joined the lottery system prior to the game so that I
could get a closer seat than those who did not do the lottery. The lottery began the night prior to the
game where students camped out outside Mackey s atrium. I asked Sam Kolczak, a student at Purdue
who camped out for the IU game and the Villanova game back on November 14, 2016, what he

Hardin argues about not helping the poor. Hardin writes in a way as if they are not the helping than
they are the problem. In A Modest Proposal by Jonathan Swift. Swift acts as the good one on the
shoulder. Swift writes at first a false argument than writes his real one. Swift argues to help the poor
and have some pity for them. Which essay is argued most effectively? Swift essay is argued most

Relationships in Cathedral and the Story of an Hour
Relationships in Cathedral and The Story of an Hour Relationships are easy to make, but not
necessarily easy to maintain. There are many events in a person s individual life that has an impact on

Presuppositions/truth claims: Human beings are created creatures with predetermined human (distinct and separate from animal) potential and an in born slavery to imperfection/sin. Learners may have experienced God s redemption and therefore may opt to perform in a way which will show itself at times and/or the residual benefit of being made in God s image may at times prevail, such as a humanitarian s actions or a child doing good . Short term memory permits the human s conscious direct interaction with environmental factors. Humans are interactive, constantly processing incoming sensory information by comparing and contrasting (assimilation/accommodation) and recombining it with schematas/templates/prototypes or building upon scaffolding already in the mind. • 5. Cultural Conflict Between Sunni And Shiite Factions This short paper serves to relate various themes inclusive to cultural conflict in modern day Iraq between Sunni and Shiite Factions as well as the emerging threat of ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and Syria). This analysis will show how ISIS is utilizing ongoing cultural strife between predominately Sunni (Western Iraq; Al Anbar Province), Shiite (Eastern Iraq, and Kurdish (Northern Iraq; Mosul) to further destabilize certain regions and attempt to gain influence over segments of the population. Iraq s borders, which were originally defined by British powers after World War I, have largely failed to account for the cultural differences in peoples between the country s provinces. As ISIS becomes a more organized and prevalent force in the region, it can be argued that they are attempting to legitimize themselves as a culture with emerging borders in both Iraq and Syria. The legitimacy of ISIS as an emerging cultural group largely depends on their ability to influence the local population and gain support for their objectives. This paper will address how the existing Iraqi Central Government may be failing its obligation to protect the economic, social, and cultural rights of particular groups (namely in Kurdish and Sunni populated territories). Additionally, this paper will attempt to address several questions that may be indicators of whether ISIS has the ability to sustain itself over time. Firstly, is ISIS capitalizing on the centralized government s perceived failures ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. The Nazi Occupation Of Crete Summary Book Review: The Nazie Occupation of Crete, 1941 1945 G.C. Kiriakopoulos is a dentistry professor at Columbia University. Kiriakopoulos is a Fellow of the Royal Society in Great Britain and is a highly decorated veteran of World War II. He has written two books Ten Days to Destiny: The Battle for Crete and The Nazi Occupation of Crete, 1941 1945. His first book, Ten Days to Destiny: The Battle for Crete, has been praised as the most authentic documentation of the battle. This book details a true story of American John Alexander. Alexander vacationed to the island of Crete in Greece with his sister and parents to visit his grandparents. However, Alexander s peaceful vacation was interrupted by the invasion of Germany. Germany had launched the first airborne invasion of an island fortress on the beautiful paradise. The Cretan people and their British, Australian, and New Zealand allies fought the Germans for ten long, bloody days until they were finally defeated and Crete was conquered. During the days of occupation, Crete was heavily punished for their resistance. Within the first month, two thousand civilians died at the hands of their cruel invaders. John Alexander s father was among those two thousand perished souls. John s father, Nicholas, claimed neutrality as an American citizen, nonetheless he hid three British soldiers. When the Nazis discovered this duplicity, they did not hesitate in the disposing of Nicholas Alexander. The trespassers murdered John s father and dispatched John to a prison camp for him to die, but John Alexander vowed vengeance and escaped his confinement. The Cretans and their allies did not give up when they were conquered, they fought with the Cretan spirit of patriotism and did not give up. They banded together as one in resistance to the Nazi intruders through the Cretan Resistance Movement. The Cretans battle for liberation from their Nazi oppressors may not be widely known but the Cretans challenged their occupiers and fought till the very end. The most pressing issue discussed in the book is, of course, the German occupation of the Grecian island Crete. Kiriakopoulos goes into great detail about the ten day battle for the island. Specifically, the improvement in quality of healthcare has gained interest among policy makers in recent years (Carlfjord, Lindberg, Bendtsen, Nilsen Andersson, 2010, p. 1). This is likely because healthcare policy makers strive to overcome some of the larger scale issues affecting the industry and patient care. Unlike Medieval painting, Roman painting does not have a specific scene to show nor a particular doctrine to teach. Some scenes might denote the same theme, but the artist tries to individualize his work by playing with the elements. In Romanesque painting the iconographical demands do not allow artists to illustrate the same icons in different ways. To spread Christianity, the symbols need to remain the same everywhere to make the message easier to understand. In Christ in Majesty the halo is an example of the recurring iconographic element. A halo around someone s head means that the person is a saint. Christ, the evangelists, and the Twelve Apostles have halos to point out their religious significance. Individualization is no longer important on Medieval works because artists focus on the expansion of the Christian message. The figures in Christ in Majesty are less naturalistic than the ones in the Dionysiac mystery frieze (second style Roman), located in the Villa of the Mysteries in Pompeii. The figures of Christ in Majesty seem flatter because their outline is stronger than the ones on the Roman fresco. When the artist outlines a form (a three dimensional figure), the form becomes a shape (a two dimensional figure). Peak levels of Insulin lispro has peak levels at 30 to 90 minutes. Insulin aspart and insulin glulisine have similar pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic properties with insulin lispro. Rapid or short acting insulins are provided to mimic the prandial release of insulin during prandial (mealtime) and to control postprandial glucose. They may also be used in cases where swift alteration of elevated glucose to normal is needed. Injection of rapid acting insulin has been proven to be more effective than regular insulin by which when they are administered pre meal, having 15 20 minutes onset of action compared to 30 minutes or above respectively.
