Fashion Creations of Christian Lacroix
For me, elegance is not to pass unnoticed but to get to the very soul of what one is. Christian Lacroix
The creations of fashion designer, Christian Lacroix, are the epitome of the perfect spontaneous
combinations of what he truly embodies. Inspiration for these comes from his southern France roots,
his passion for the Provence traditions and customs, and his continuing fascination with the history of
clothing. Lacroix s artfully unexpected mixtures express a new form of luxury, simultaneously playful,
baroque, and sophisticated. He intertwines bright colors and over the top materials in creations that
express a distinct blending of varying cultures. These cultures, and their distant or forgotten costumes,
form the basis of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Christian Lacroix house was inaugurated in 1987 in the city of Paris. On July 26, 1987 Lacroix
showed his first collection (introducing the pouf skirt, known as a milestone in fashion history for its
inventiveness) under his very own name, and that year the Council of Fashion Designers of America
awarded him, Most Influential Foreign Designer. He was referred to as the Messiah , by a French
magazine, and even Time featured him on the cover. In 1988, he received his second Golden Thimble,
and debuted his first Ready to Wear collection. In 1989, Christian Lacroix introduced his first line of
accessories including jewelry, handbags, shoes, glasses, scarves, and ties. Also, during this year he
celebrated the opening of boutiques in Paris, Arles, Aix en Provence, Toulouse, London, Geneva, and
Japan. In 1994, he created the Bazar line, a collection based more on folklore and historical time
periods than his Ready to Wear and Haute Couture lines. In 1995, Lacroix launched the CL Linen and
Towel Collection in the spirit of which he believes, that fashion and lifestyle are two sides of the same
coin. In 1996, he created his Jeans line. This collection embraces the past, present, and future and was
inspired mainly by popular and ethnic art and tradition throughout the world. The fact that

Grover Cleveland Persuasive Essay
Grover Cleveland Grover Cleveland is the President that I chose for my final project. Grover
Cleveland was known for being an honest and trustworthy politician. However, he is probably best
known for being the only United States President who was elected to two, non consecutive terms in
office (Krull, 45). Grover Cleveland is both the 22nd and 24th President. He was also the first
President elected from the Democratic Party after the US Civil War. Additionally, Grover Cleveland
was the first President to be married while in office (Krull). Grover Cleveland was born on March 18,
1837 in Caldwell, New Jersey. His birth name was Stephen Grover Cleveland. In his later years he
dropped Stephen from his name, most likely because and his friends called him big Steve. They called
him this because he was somewhat overweight and weighed in excess of 250 pounds. Consequently,
he was also called Uncle Jumbo, which was a reference to a famous circus elephant of that era. His
father, Richard Falley Cleveland, was a Presbyterian minister who died when Grover Cleveland was
only sixteen years old. As a result of his father s death, Cleveland was forced to quit school and take a
job in a general store (Morris, 87). When he turned eighteen, Cleveland moved to Buffalo, New York,
where he started to study law in a law office (Morris). Even though Cleveland did not ... Show more

Huge Employee Turnover
A company that has 500 or more employment turnovers has a very huge problem. This issue needs to
be addressed for the company to be a huge success in today s society. Evidently, the employees are not
happy with the way the bank is being ran within the company. Happy employees molds, a company
into a long term success. There are several ways I would attempt to correct the huge employment
turnover. The ways I would attempt to slow down the turnovers are to interview the present employees
who have been there for more than two or more years, question, management to see if their doing

Mao Zedong Accomplishments
Mao Zedong has been credited as one of the most important figures during the Cold War, because he
led many influential events and overall led China through the Cold War. He had many dreams and
wishes for China, involving communism and changes for the better of the nation. He knew how to
please his country and pinpoint different areas where China needed improvement, and carry out plans
that would improve China as a whole. Mao Zedong was one of China s most courageous and powerful
leaders, and this was shown through his background of leadership in the Chinese Civil War and the
Long March, and how he maintained his visions and aspirations for China.
Mao Zedong s interest in communism started in 1918, when he began his teaching career. Whilst
teaching, Zedong read Marxism, a book written by Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels that talks about a

This boost in confidence influenced Mao Zedong to continue his leadership and interest in
communism and politics. He soon founded the People s Republic of China, and announced the
creation of a people s democratic dictatorship . He thought that socialism would eventually triumph
over all other ideologies, and his plans and vivid ideas for China reflect how creative but realistic he is
as a leader, and this benefited China throughout the Cold War. Some examples of ambitious plans that
carried through include the Great Leap Forward and the Cultural Revolution, where Zedong
encouraged change in order to further improve and benefit the country as a whole. Although the Great
Leap Forward resulted in a famine and the death of 40 million people, Mao made a comeback with the
Cultural Revolution. He wanted to transform China in order to be able to compete with other
industrialized nations, and this shows Zedong s competitive yet committed nature as a

King Pyrrhus Epicus Battle
You have won the battle, but what has been lost? A Pyrrhic victory is when something in won, but
with great loss in order to do so. This term came from the King of Pyrrhus battle in Asculum, and his
quote: If I should ever conquer again in this fashion, it would be my ruin . This term can be used to
describe many battles throughout history, but it is important to understand the original Pyrrhic victory.
King Pyrrhus of Epicus had a great army, with noble reason to fight, but he was fighting too
formidable a foe. King Pyrrhus army was very large. It consisted of between 25,000 30,000 trained
individuals. This army included footmen, archers, slingers, horsemen, and elephants. Elephants had
never been used in battle against the Romans before, and they had likely never seen them. This army

Romans, sir, are reported to be great warriors and conquerors of many warlike nations; if God permits

The Legal Action For Negligence Against Jimmy Farnham And...
Answer A
The major shareholder might not be successful in the legal action for negligence against Jimmy
Farnham. This is because the audit firm was not under a contract agreement with the major
shareholder, and the fact that the major shareholder can be considered a third party in the contract
between Jimmy Farnham and Aussie Outback Tours Ltd. The law is not definitively clear on the
auditor s liability to third parties (Porter, Ó hÓgartaigh Baskerville, 2012). An auditor owes a duty of
care to their direct client, and any damages incurred by the client due to negligence on the part of the
auditor makes the auditor liable in terms of contract and also in tort (Nguyen Rajapakse, 2008). A

He had advised the client to assign the review and evaluation of the new database to an independent
contractor. The fact that Jimmy was not familiar with the new system of accounting that the client was
implementing and therefore not involved in the changeover process absolves him and his audit firm
from direct liability. It is also hard to prove that the error in material inventory that resulted from the
changeover was committed when Jimmy was auditing the firm or at the instance of feeding the data
into the system. Admittance to liability is also dependent on whether the auditor had placed
disclaimers of responsibility in the preparation of the audit reports.
The criteria for the determination of the auditor s liability to other parties apart from the clients are as
follows:
The defendant must have reasonably foreseen that the statements would be put to use by the plaintiff
A relevant degree of proximity must exist between the parties involved in the litigation
The imposition of a duty for care by the plaintiff on the defendant must be just and reasonable
(Davies, 1991; ACCA, 2009).
There is no evidence presented in the case above to the effect that the defendant was aware of the
likelihood of the judgements he made being used as a basis to make judgement by the plaintiff. The
plaintiff also has a hard tasks of proving that there was a close proximity between them and

My Life Change Essay
Your life can change so much in such little time. It can change in either a good way or a bad way. For
me personally it changed in a great way. So many aspects of my life have changed in the past year.
One of the aspects that changed was my education. I used to go to Miami Dade college but was not
that passionate about my major, so i would go to classes really late or not even show up at all. I was
kinda lost and i picked a major that i really didnt wanna do. Now ive picked a major that im really
excited. I enrolled into Keiser University and im doing really good in school right now. Another way
my life changed i met the girl of my dreams. I am really in love with her and she makes my life so
much better. Ive never had so much fun with someone but she makes me the happiest. The last thing
that has changed in my life was my job. I used to work at a resteraunt where i only got paid $8.50 and
i did so much work compared to the job now that i make $9.50 and dont do as much work. I also enjoy
it much more. My life is the greatest it has ever been.
Education i think is one of the most important things someone can get. Without education in this
world i feel like it is really hard to get a good paying job. My life before i would barely wanna go to
school because i hated the education and the major i picked. I only went to school because of my
mom. I only worked because i would rather make money. One day it hit me i didnt wanna work at a
restaurent my whole life. So thats when i

The Story Of Honesty
One after the other, they removed their nappies and swished them in the water until they were spotless
white. They hung them on the warm air vent to dry.
Carefully, so as not to get their wings wet, they took it in turns to wash. They leaned back in the water
as they wiggled their bums. When it was Hop s turn, he farted in the water. The bubbles rose to the
surface. And popped. They were popping farts that smelt of sherry!
They dried their bottoms on a pile of makeup remover pads. Honesty inspected all the jars on the table
until she found what she wanted. She lifted the lid and picked out a big ball of fluff. She flicked the
fluff and it spread talcum powder in the air. She sneezed. Pignut sneezed. Bedstraw sneezed. Hop

draining board. He pointed at the fork, and got Honesty and Pignut to carry it back to the table. It was
too heavy for him to lift by himself. Bedstraw went to search for a needle and elastic band. She was
soon back and just in time to help with the peas. Not frozen peas because they were too hard, so they
used fresh peas instead.
They now had all the tools to make a home made catapult.
Cym stood to the side and gave orders. Honesty and Bedstraw held on to the fork. Pignut picked up a
pea, placed it in the band and stretched as far as back as it would go. He let go and off shot the pea in
the direction of the ceiling.
The spider stealthily approached the fly caught in his web. Nothing prepared him for the pea as it
plopped on his head. He looked down with an evil glint in his eye but the Sprigs were too quick. They
zapped him with a spoonful of mashed potato. Splat! Crushed to death!
The Sprigs flew up to the ceiling and wound a reel of cobwebs to take back to the table. Honesty
stitched Hop s wing together again. They were just in time. Hop woke up and gurgled. Din dins?

Slavitt Vs Hardy
Title
The Titanic was one of the largest ships that has ever been made. On its first voyage, the Titanic
quickly ceased after encountering an iceberg. In the poem, Titanic , David R. Slavitt gives a brief
description of the Titanic and how the world has remembered the legend. In a different poem, The
Convergence of the Twain , Thomas Hardy illustrates the impact an Immanent Will had on the
crashing of the Titanic. Both, Slavitt and Hardy challenge the views that people have on the legend of
the Titanic by applying tone as well as creating a duality of expectations and reality.
Through tone, the authors portray each way the Titanic should be identified by using effective word
choice. Many lives were lost on the Titanic that day, but instead ... Show more content on

Slavitt correlates the Titanic to the world while Hardy challenges whether or not the crashing off the
Titanic was choice or fate. Slavitt implies that the world becomes numb to death and tragedy by
writing, And the world, shocked, mourns, as it ought to do and almost never does. When tragedies
similar to the Titanic happen, people overlook and forget the events until another tragedy happens.
With the improvement of communication through technology, news and events are shared at the speed
of sound. Every few seconds bears a new tragic event; for instance, the lives lost in the Boston
Massacre, the bar shooting in Orlando, and numerous school shootings fade into the chaos each day
brings. Hardy previews the conception of the Titanic happening by choice or by fate. Hardy mentions,
The Immanent Will that stirs and urges everything...A Shape of Ice, for the time far and dissociate,
formulating that fate forced the Titanic to crash into the iceberg(18 21). Hardy signifies the crash
happened because of the pride the architects acquired of their magnificent structure. According to
prior knowledge of the short sail at sea, the captains of the ship had the choice of taking a test run,
turning around after having a fire on board, or simply cruise at a slower pace. Hardy reminds of the
hurried departure and the idea that the crash rested in the hands of an

Mass Hysteria In Society
Human beings are complex. There is not one person on this earth that is perfect, but that s the beauty
of it. Everyone has moments in their lives where they might just go crazy. Mass hysteria is a condition
affecting a group of persons, characterized by excitement or anxiety, irrational behavior or beliefs, or
inexplicable symptoms of illness (Dictionary.com). There have been multiple instances where large
amounts of people have identical symptoms that alienate them from others in society. Many factors
play into the incline of mass hysteria in students over others: similar social problems, challenges, or
traumatic events.
Everyone deals with stress at some point in their life, and students especially are burdened with many
different forms of it. Earlier this year, in the Okongo territory of Ohangwena, Namibia, the Oshisho
Combined School experienced its first outbreak of unnatural behavior. Basically, a bunch of girls at
the school were acting and doing very abnormal things and no one knew what was going on.
According to the African News Service, the students exhibited strange behaviour such as speaking in
what sounded like a strange language. There were a lot of rumors swirling around that coerced people
into thinking that the bizarre behavior, from mostly girls, was related to that of witchcraft. They
diagnosed the girls with the medical condition called Mass Hysteria (African news service 2017). This

Book Report On The Book Hatchet
Hatchet Book Report In the novel Hatchet, by Gary Paulsen the theme is survival of the fittest. In
Hatchet, by Gary Paulsen the book binds you to continue reading it until the very end. It like you are
there with Brian and had a very descriptive image what it would look like standing next to him. A
book is a magical thing that lets you travel to far away places without leaving your chair Katrina
Mayer. The plot of Hatchet, by Gary Paulsen is very interesting because of how you could imagine
yourself right next to Brian like a seeing everything he sees. The plot was realistic because it actually
could happen in real life and probably has happened in real life. Like how the plane ran out of gas and
he had to try and land the plane. When he ran out of fuel the plane would start down (Paulsen, Gary).
He would have to find a clearing as he went down (Paulsen, Gary). Throughout the story Brian has
obstacles of survival he had to overcome. Landing the plane was just one of them he also had to find
shelter, He had to have some kind of shelter, he needed a fire to drive away the mosquitoes, I will have
fire here, he thought, and struck again I will have fire from the hatchet (Paulsen, Gary). Throughout
the story he has to face challenges to survive and overcome them. The main conflict in this story is
man vs. nature and a little of man vs. self. Brain struggles against how he has to adapt and conquer his

A Summary On Charismatic Faith And Ministry
Summary of Charismatic Faith and Ministry
Charismatic Faith and Ministry is a comprehensive book of Charismatic Systematic Theology. The
first three quarters of the book were a brief dissection of systematic theology, much of what we have
studied in other classes, but in a more condensed form. The belief system expressed by Dr. Daniel
Thimell was no great departure from most conservative, reformed, evangelical orthodoxy except for
the addition of the Charismatic.
I believe the real meat of the book started with chapter eleven, Charismatic Ministry. Here Thimell
continues his systematic approach to the book, but now switches to the rest of the story, the work of
the Holy Spirit in our lives today. Thimell takes a very academic and cerebral approach to the gospel.
His lack of personal encounters and stories are evidence to that fact. However, this is a refreshing
approach that presents the gospel with just the basic facts and not many frills. I believe that Thimell s
purpose in writing this book was not to give an exhaustive book on Charismatic Theology, but to show
how Charismata fit within his systematic theology. Thimell showed that Charismata is not an appendix
to the Bible, but an integral and many times overlooked theology that interweaves through the whole
Bible, from Genesis to Revelation.
It seems that Dr. Thimell tries to relate to the reader on a more personal level with his connections
with Star Wars and the WWJD analogy. Both concepts are points well taken and

Proposed Merger Between Staples And Office Depot
Anticompetitive Effects and Price Effects: Proposed Merger between Staples and Office Depot (1997)

financial evidence to verify that the proposed merger of Staples and Office Depot will lead to increase
in market concentration, market prices and stock prices, and thus support FTC s contention that this
merger will cause an anticompetitive effect on Office Superstore market. Staples and Office Depot

Staples (2006), Orley Ashenfelter, David Ashmore, Johnathon B. Baker, Suzanne Gleason and Daniel
S. Hosken leveraged extensive public record to provide a detailed discussion of the econometric
models used in this merging case and to show how differences between the models led to the
discrepancy between these estimates. FTC claimed that based on various analysis and evidence,
proposed merger between Staples and Office Depot will harm competition in office superstore chain
market and raise market price which will lessen customers welfare. Nevertheless, two parties of
merger casted doubt on every detailed statement, and interpreted that this merger will reduce costs,
broaden scale of economies, improve economic efficiency, and optimize resource allocation, and then
lower market price efficiently. Finally, the Court chose to agree with FTC s contention. II.Background

Sexual Harassment Definition
Summer of 2012. I was walking down the street in an old shirt and shorts with my mom, aunt, and
younger cousin when a car filled with a group of twenty something year olds appeared. When passing
my family, the car erupted in hoots and hollers , a known antic of catcalling. At the time, I was twelve
years old. Similarly, I was walking into a restaurant when a man made a suggestive passing. As my
mother glared at him for his remark he repeated himself, this time intending the sexist slur for her. I

A Brief Note On Labor And Leisure
Katy Miller Labour and Leisure essay two Women and Labour: The changing roles in our working
society through a lens. It s hard to believe in this day and age with so many opportunities for woman
to become successful in a carer and contribute to the working society that before the First World War
only ninety years ago marriage meant the end of that chance for so many young people. By looking at
both short films and film depictions, I want to show the journey of how the Labour industry has
changed from being a majority lead male dominated working environment with the social status for
woman changing from those who are either unmarried or in poor lower class families in domestic
feminine held jobs, to those of married woman, in a well to do family made to give up chances of
education and carer for themselves, married off to become leisurely ladies of the house and made to
stay home with the children while there husband became the sole earner. Regardless of her social
status, most woman surrendered her rights from the day she married but if on the off chance she was
able to work in one of these domestic arenas such as the textile and clothing industry the jobs would
have been of little satisfaction and that of a low wage. This was to be true of a time in Victorian
England, but in 1895 French director Louis Lumiẻre created a short black and white silent

In real life, humans have many traits that allow us to be considered top of the hierarchical food chain,
yet allow us to remain in classifications with animal species mammals. Humans are a highly
developed species, with abilities that surpass nearly all other animals on the planet. This being said,
this complexity allows for many conflicts to arise, as well as differing opinions on solutions. Although
humans are so evolved, some argue that animal instincts found in humans are still quite prevalent. In
The Walking Dead, the virus being embedded in everyone s brain could be a reflection of humans
inherent animalistic qualities. If we continue with this analogy, the virus could represent the potential
that every human has to become a monster (in a figurative sense in reality, or a literal sense in the

the condition of the world, or possible events that could occur, all while placing responsibility at the
hands of humanity. Although The Walking Dead in particular does not explain the cause of the

from the bladder, it is made up of two main layers of muscle, the inner layer is under autonomic nerve
control, and the outer layer is striated and is under voluntary control and an inner layer of mucosa
(Grant and Waugh, 2010).
4. The skin is the largest organ in the body and is made up of hair, glands and nails. The epidermis is
the superficial layer of the skin and has different levels of thickness at different parts of the body.
There are no nerve endings or blood vessels in the epidermis, but its deeper layers are immersed in
interstitial fluid from the dermis, which deliver oxygen and nutrients, and drains away as lymph
(Grant and Waugh, 2010). The epidermis has several layers with the top layer being continually
rubbed off and replaced with the protein keratin. The dermis is formed from connective tissue and is
tough and elastic; it contains collagen fibres which are interwoven with elastic fibres. The collagen
fibres hold water, which gives the skin its strength, but as we grow older this ability declines and
wrinkles appear (Grant and Waugh, 2010). Skin contains sweat glands; these are found

Denzel Washington Rhetorical Speech
In order to deliver a successful speech, there are countless qualities that must be present to reach both
the emotional and logical sense within a crowd. Through the use of rhetorical strategies and by
remaining credible, a speaker or an author can connect with their audience; getting them involved with
their writing. In May of 2011, a man by the name of Denzel Washington used multiple rhetorical
strategies to deliver a graduation speech at the University of Pennsylvania. While revealing all of the
difficult times that he had gone through while in college and discovering what career he wanted to
pursue, he inspired millions of people, leaving a profound effect upon the world. Now, with millions
of fans, Washington is a famous actor that has starred in numerous movies such as Courage Under
Fire, Crimson Tide, and Malcolm X. Washington, along with the authors: Aristotle, Peter Elbow, and
Donald Murray, and many others, have made a big difference in the world, simply by using rhetorical
strategies. The rhetorical strategy, repetition, not only works to get the audience involved, it also
makes the point of the speech clear and helps appeal to the audience s emotion. Washington explained
that he honestly never understood why he would want to fall back on something, instead, he wanted to
fall forward, therefore; he would be able to see where he s actually going to fall. Fall forward. Here s

John Brown as the Villian or Hero Essay
John Brown as the Villian or Hero
Brown s attack on Harper s Ferry affected American culture more than can ever be understood.
Tension between the North and South was building in the 1850 s. Slavery among many other things
was dividing the country into two sections. Brown was executed on December 2, 1859 for his
murderous out lash on society. Was his mind so twisted and demented that he would commit cold
blooded murder? The answer is no. John Brown was a man with a goal and a purpose. When he said
that abolition could not be achieved without blood he was right. It is one of histories great ironies;
John Brown s struggle preceded the Civil War by only 17 months. Thousands of people were killed in
the Civil War, yet John Brown ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Brown wanted to do anything he had to in order to abolish slavery. Brown had a great faith in God.
Success had eluded him up to this point. He had sired 20 children and had gone through two wives,
but he still felt unfulfilled. In 1846, Brown was working as a wool merchant but nothing ever came of
it. Before 1855, Brown had gone through a series of lawsuits and bankruptcies that halted his success.
Gerrit Smith, a philanthropist friend of Brown s, was persuaded into giving a portion of the 120,000
acres of land he owned in upstate New York to Brown. This land would be open to refugee negroes.
Brown lived on this land as a farmer for some time before realizing that people were just taking
advantage of him.
In 1850, the Fugitive Slave Law was passed. This law plainly stated that citizens were required to help
slave catchers if inquired upon to do so. This law would make it immensely difficult for slaves to
successfully escape slavery. Slaves would have to be even more careful not to run into the wrong
person.
John Brown along with other northerners were outraged. Many abolitionists protested and claimed this
law was outrageous. The question of whether it was right for the government to force abolitionist to
help slave catchers was asked, Brown knew

The Gilded Age During The Gilded Age
When Mark Twain coined the term Gilded Age for the years 165 1900 he was doing more than giving
a sarcastic name to this time period. Twain ingeniously combined both the era s widespread corruption
with its tremendous growth. It was a time of political upheaval, western expansion, transitioning roles
of women, increased education, new forms of media, and urbanization, although while all of those
factors were significant parts of the the time, one industry and technology saw a startling and almost
unbelievable shift to its industry. During the Gilded Age the United States went through one of its
biggest, most influential periods of growth and discovery in its history, although along with the
tremendous expansion came huge companies arose unmatched in their size and corruption.
Following the tumultuous Civil War the atmosphere was ribe in America for unbelievable expansion
and growth. The war had practically devastated the agricultural based South, with the South s finances
being reduced to almost nothing. Confederate bonds had become worthless and because of this the
South couldn t industrialize and nearly the same pace as the North. All these factors, coupled with
slaves recently being freed from bondage led to a immigration into the North s urban economy.
Further there was huge immigration from abroad at this time to America major cities like Chicago and
New York from all over Eurasia including China, Russia, and Italy. With them came an important

Us Vs Japan
Chapter Four Case 2 US vs. Japan, research 4 20
As an international student I am lucky enough to be able to provide a unique outsider s perspective on
some of the cultural difference and similarities between Japan and U.S.A. I try to do this by using my
own customs and traditions as a tool to compare that of the two countries. I use religion, political
stance, formality, collectivist vs individualistic ways of thinking and traditions that they share as a
rubric to measure the similarities and differences between the two. As an international student I also
have the unique opportunity to get insight from my personal friend from Japan, Kazuki Sona.

In the case study it mentions that more is expected from the employees of Nomura compared to the
more casual and lenient employees of Lehman. Employees of Nomura have to look and act a certain
way (some of which, in my opinion does not fully reflect the Japanese culture). The women were
separated from the men in training, which would obviously raise a red flag had it been employees of
Lehman.
For two companies of such severe differences and little commonalities to get along, it requires great
patience, and an even greater deal of tolerance. In the last paragraph of the case study it talks about the
last minute efforts that Nomura did, before the Ex executive of Lehman left. We also get a sense of
unpreparedness from both companies; that, one did not do homework on the needs and wants of the
other. Had they have been more flexible of their cultural beliefs, and worked harder at diversifying
their workgroup from the gecko, the outcome might have been different. And both companies would
not have had to work so hard to understand the

10 Year Goal Plan Research Paper
I have currently set a ten year goal plan for myself. My first goal is to complete college in about 6
years, with a Master s/CPA degree. The next stage of my goals is to switch my career to a position
dealing with accounting, which will help me pursue a career position with PricewaterhouseCoopers. In
this paper I will discuss PWC as a company, how am I preparing myself for my future, and how
technological developments will affect my career goals. How will I become an accountant at PwC in
ten years or less?
How am I preparing myself for my future? I am currently a freshman year student at Thomas Edison
State University, pursing a bachelor s degree in accounting. My bachelor s degree should take me a
little over 3 years to complete the credits needed. I will then continue on to work on and complete my

Brown Sugar Solubility
The ability a substance has of dissolving is known as, solubility. Solute, is the substance being
dissolved, while solvent is the substance in which the solute is being dissolved in. The final product of
a solute and solvent mixing together is known as, a solution. Considering the fact that the research
question states that the purpose of this experiment is to understand how the mass of brown sugar
effects the time it takes to dissolve in 50ml of water, the solute of this experiment would be brown
sugar, while the solvent would be the 50ml of water. Five different masses of brown sugar will be
experimented throughout this experiment, 5g, 10g, 15g, 20g and 25g, with three trials for each mass.
Brown sugar are simply white/normal sugar, however ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One of the main purpose of any type of sugar is to act as sweeteners, therefore they are found in many
kitchens throughout the world. Sugar also plays a huge part in reactions occurring, since it assists in
important chemical reactions that take place whist cooking and/or baking. Sugar has the ability to act
as a solute in many solutions, for example they have the ability to dissolve in water, therefore they are
soluble. This is because when sugar is placed in water, the sucrose molecule start breaking from the
sugar crystal, and begin to immediately get surrounded by water molecules, and eventually bond with
the water molecules. The fact that the negative and positive areas on the sucrose molecules attract the
polar water molecules, is also why sugar dissolves in water. Therefore in theory, the larger the
amount(mass) of sugar placed in water, the longer the sugar should take to dissolve completely, since
there would be more sucrose molecules to bond with the water molecules. The concept of brown sugar
dissolving in water is relevant to real life, due to the fact that this solution is constantly created by
numerous people as a part of their daily

The tap water here may be filtered and all but if you travel to a state or country that doesn t you could

tap, no refrigerator dispenser, or don t know for sure about the water. Some water bottles are bad like
Aquafina but just because some of them are bad doesn t mean we have to banned them. There are tons
of water bottles that are good for you like Neslie . Some people are arguing and making it a big deal
because some water bottles are bad. They just have to stay away from the bad brands and buy the
healthier brands. According to greengarageblog water bottles are okay to store since they don t get
stale. You could buy a whole pack and leave it in your garage and still tasted great after weeks. Its
great for long road trips, to bring to school, work, and others. You could store them in a car, a locker, a
refrigerator, closet, in the kitchen, the room, really anywhere. It s ready to be opened and drank out of
without getting stale.
Another thing that people disagree with not banning water bottles is that 80% of the water bottles
being bought are landed in landfills each

Dora The Explorer, Spongebob Squarepants, And The Simpsons
More than a decade has passed, since the beginning of academic research in regards to the impact of
TV series on small children s development. Evidences collected since that time entail limited
educational or cognitive benefits of commercial TV animated series for young children, especially
when comparing to the information they might learn from live, social interactions (Vaala, 2014). In
spite of this fact, most American toddlers and infants do spend time watching animated educational
TV series with the statistics indicating approximately 60 80 minutes of daily viewing for the average
child (Rideout, 2013). At the time when international viewing rates are not yet available, estimates
that exist now bring forth that children s TV viewing time is increasing (Vaala Hornik, 2014). For
these reasons, coupled with the questions laid down in the paper, I watched one episode each of Dora
the Explorer, SpongeBob SquarePants, and The Simpsons.

This sets it apart from other children s cartoons. Dora teaches almost every facet of good material to
the children that watch it, from life lessons to the correct ways of behavior and correct attitude to
exhibit in many situations. The way the lessons are taught in Dora the Explorer facilitates significantly
children s processing of information. SpongeBob SquarePants also teaches lessons but is more geared
toward entertainment than education. However, SpongeBob also provides correct attitudes, behaviors,
and ways to understand many different situations that children might be confronted with in their daily
life. For The Simpsons, its whole raison d etre is to entertain. Although sometimes the characters are
taught a lesson during the episodes, they can be perverted to entertain the young adult audience that

History of the Court:
By the end of the first world war, the international community founded the League of Nations, the first
international security organization with the primary goal of maintaining world peace. The first world
war saw drastic increases in mankind s capacity to kill other human beings and cause insurmountable
harm to human society and culture. The human condition was drastically different. With a new world
war on the horizon, the international community had decided to band together to form a way in which
it could help exercise the correct legal disposition and formality to positively influence the world. An
international body was crucial after the first world war in order to maintain peace and order as the
world picked up the pieces from their injustices. This was also true after the Second world war where
the world saw, again, how the cruelties of humanity had to be prevented in order for the international
body to prevent the forming of higher casualty rates and human suffering. With in Article 14 of the
Covenant of the League of Nations, an international court, the Permanent Court of International
Justice (PCIJ) was established. The PCIJ significantly advanced the concept of international law, as it
was the first international a judicial body to be governed by its own

  • 2. Fashion Creations of Christian Lacroix For me, elegance is not to pass unnoticed but to get to the very soul of what one is. Christian Lacroix The creations of fashion designer, Christian Lacroix, are the epitome of the perfect spontaneous combinations of what he truly embodies. Inspiration for these comes from his southern France roots, his passion for the Provence traditions and customs, and his continuing fascination with the history of clothing. Lacroix s artfully unexpected mixtures express a new form of luxury, simultaneously playful, baroque, and sophisticated. He intertwines bright colors and over the top materials in creations that express a distinct blending of varying cultures. These cultures, and their distant or forgotten costumes, form the basis of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Christian Lacroix house was inaugurated in 1987 in the city of Paris. On July 26, 1987 Lacroix showed his first collection (introducing the pouf skirt, known as a milestone in fashion history for its inventiveness) under his very own name, and that year the Council of Fashion Designers of America awarded him, Most Influential Foreign Designer. He was referred to as the Messiah , by a French magazine, and even Time featured him on the cover. In 1988, he received his second Golden Thimble, and debuted his first Ready to Wear collection. In 1989, Christian Lacroix introduced his first line of accessories including jewelry, handbags, shoes, glasses, scarves, and ties. Also, during this year he celebrated the opening of boutiques in Paris, Arles, Aix en Provence, Toulouse, London, Geneva, and Japan. In 1994, he created the Bazar line, a collection based more on folklore and historical time periods than his Ready to Wear and Haute Couture lines. In 1995, Lacroix launched the CL Linen and Towel Collection in the spirit of which he believes, that fashion and lifestyle are two sides of the same coin. In 1996, he created his Jeans line. This collection embraces the past, present, and future and was inspired mainly by popular and ethnic art and tradition throughout the world. The fact that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Grover Cleveland Persuasive Essay Grover Cleveland Grover Cleveland is the President that I chose for my final project. Grover Cleveland was known for being an honest and trustworthy politician. However, he is probably best known for being the only United States President who was elected to two, non consecutive terms in office (Krull, 45). Grover Cleveland is both the 22nd and 24th President. He was also the first President elected from the Democratic Party after the US Civil War. Additionally, Grover Cleveland was the first President to be married while in office (Krull). Grover Cleveland was born on March 18, 1837 in Caldwell, New Jersey. His birth name was Stephen Grover Cleveland. In his later years he dropped Stephen from his name, most likely because and his friends called him big Steve. They called him this because he was somewhat overweight and weighed in excess of 250 pounds. Consequently, he was also called Uncle Jumbo, which was a reference to a famous circus elephant of that era. His father, Richard Falley Cleveland, was a Presbyterian minister who died when Grover Cleveland was only sixteen years old. As a result of his father s death, Cleveland was forced to quit school and take a job in a general store (Morris, 87). When he turned eighteen, Cleveland moved to Buffalo, New York, where he started to study law in a law office (Morris). Even though Cleveland did not ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Evidently, the employees are not happy with the way the bank is being ran within the company. Happy employees molds, a company into a long term success. There are several ways I would attempt to correct the huge employment turnover. The ways I would attempt to slow down the turnovers are to interview the present employees who have been there for more than two or more years, question, management to see if their doing what it takes to maintain employees, talk to corporate to see what type of incentives are being offered and participate in a job fair to meet and greet the potential ... • 5. Mao Zedong Accomplishments Mao Zedong has been credited as one of the most important figures during the Cold War, because he led many influential events and overall led China through the Cold War. He had many dreams and wishes for China, involving communism and changes for the better of the nation. He knew how to please his country and pinpoint different areas where China needed improvement, and carry out plans that would improve China as a whole. Mao Zedong was one of China s most courageous and powerful leaders, and this was shown through his background of leadership in the Chinese Civil War and the Long March, and how he maintained his visions and aspirations for China. Mao Zedong s interest in communism started in 1918, when he began his teaching career. He soon founded the People s Republic of China, and announced the creation of a people s democratic dictatorship . He thought that socialism would eventually triumph over all other ideologies, and his plans and vivid ideas for China reflect how creative but realistic he is as a leader, and this benefited China throughout the Cold War. Some examples of ambitious plans that carried through include the Great Leap Forward and the Cultural Revolution, where Zedong encouraged change in order to further improve and benefit the country as a whole. Although the Great Leap Forward resulted in a famine and the death of 40 million people, Mao made a comeback with the Cultural Revolution. This term came from the King of Pyrrhus battle in Asculum, and his quote: If I should ever conquer again in this fashion, it would be my ruin . This term can be used to describe many battles throughout history, but it is important to understand the original Pyrrhic victory. King Pyrrhus of Epicus had a great army, with noble reason to fight, but he was fighting too formidable a foe. King Pyrrhus army was very large. It consisted of between 25,000 30,000 trained individuals. This army included footmen, archers, slingers, horsemen, and elephants. • 8. The Legal Action For Negligence Against Jimmy Farnham And... Answer A The major shareholder might not be successful in the legal action for negligence against Jimmy Farnham. This is because the audit firm was not under a contract agreement with the major shareholder, and the fact that the major shareholder can be considered a third party in the contract between Jimmy Farnham and Aussie Outback Tours Ltd. The law is not definitively clear on the auditor s liability to third parties (Porter, Ó hÓgartaigh Baskerville, 2012). An auditor owes a duty of care to their direct client, and any damages incurred by the client due to negligence on the part of the auditor makes the auditor liable in terms of contract and also in tort (Nguyen Rajapakse, 2008). The fact that Jimmy was not familiar with the new system of accounting that the client was implementing and therefore not involved in the changeover process absolves him and his audit firm from direct liability. It is also hard to prove that the error in material inventory that resulted from the changeover was committed when Jimmy was auditing the firm or at the instance of feeding the data into the system. Admittance to liability is also dependent on whether the auditor had placed disclaimers of responsibility in the preparation of the audit reports. The criteria for the determination of the auditor s liability to other parties apart from the clients are as follows: The defendant must have reasonably foreseen that the statements would be put to use by the plaintiff A relevant degree of proximity must exist between the parties involved in the litigation The imposition of a duty for care by the plaintiff on the defendant must be just and reasonable (Davies, 1991; ACCA, 2009). • 9. My Life Change Essay Your life can change so much in such little time. It can change in either a good way or a bad way. For me personally it changed in a great way. So many aspects of my life have changed in the past year. One of the aspects that changed was my education. I used to go to Miami Dade college but was not that passionate about my major, so i would go to classes really late or not even show up at all. I was kinda lost and i picked a major that i really didnt wanna do. Now ive picked a major that im really excited. I enrolled into Keiser University and im doing really good in school right now. Another way my life changed i met the girl of my dreams. I am really in love with her and she makes my life so much better. Ive never had so much fun with someone but she makes me the happiest. The last thing that has changed in my life was my job. I used to work at a resteraunt where i only got paid $8.50 and i did so much work compared to the job now that i make $9.50 and dont do as much work. I also enjoy it much more. My life is the greatest it has ever been. Education i think is one of the most important things someone can get. Without education in this world i feel like it is really hard to get a good paying job. My life before i would barely wanna go to school because i hated the education and the major i picked. I only went to school because of my mom. I only worked because i would rather make money. One day it hit me i didnt wanna work at a restaurent my whole life. So thats when i ... Carefully, so as not to get their wings wet, they took it in turns to wash. They leaned back in the water as they wiggled their bums. When it was Hop s turn, he farted in the water. The bubbles rose to the surface. And popped. They were popping farts that smelt of sherry! They dried their bottoms on a pile of makeup remover pads. He stretched his legs and then raised upwards in flight. He landed next to a fork on the draining board. He pointed at the fork, and got Honesty and Pignut to carry it back to the table. It was too heavy for him to lift by himself. Bedstraw went to search for a needle and elastic band. She was soon back and just in time to help with the peas. Not frozen peas because they were too hard, so they used fresh peas instead. They now had all the tools to make a home made catapult. Cym stood to the side and gave orders. Honesty and Bedstraw held on to the fork. Pignut picked up a pea, placed it in the band and stretched as far as back as it would go. He let go and off shot the pea in the direction of the ceiling. The spider stealthily approached the fly caught in his web. Nothing prepared him for the pea as it plopped on his head. He looked down with an evil glint in his eye but the Sprigs were too quick. • 11. Slavitt Vs Hardy Title The Titanic was one of the largest ships that has ever been made. On its first voyage, the Titanic quickly ceased after encountering an iceberg. In the poem, Titanic , David R. Slavitt gives a brief description of the Titanic and how the world has remembered the legend. In a different poem, The Convergence of the Twain , Thomas Hardy illustrates the impact an Immanent Will had on the crashing of the Titanic. Both, Slavitt and Hardy challenge the views that people have on the legend of the Titanic by applying tone as well as creating a duality of expectations and reality. Through tone, the authors portray each way the Titanic should be identified by using effective word choice. Many lives were lost on the Titanic that day, but instead ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Slavitt correlates the Titanic to the world while Hardy challenges whether or not the crashing off the Titanic was choice or fate. Slavitt implies that the world becomes numb to death and tragedy by writing, And the world, shocked, mourns, as it ought to do and almost never does. When tragedies similar to the Titanic happen, people overlook and forget the events until another tragedy happens. With the improvement of communication through technology, news and events are shared at the speed of sound. Every few seconds bears a new tragic event; for instance, the lives lost in the Boston Massacre, the bar shooting in Orlando, and numerous school shootings fade into the chaos each day brings. Hardy previews the conception of the Titanic happening by choice or by fate. Hardy mentions, The Immanent Will that stirs and urges everything...A Shape of Ice, for the time far and dissociate, formulating that fate forced the Titanic to crash into the iceberg(18 21). Hardy signifies the crash happened because of the pride the architects acquired of their magnificent structure. • 12. Mass Hysteria In Society Human beings are complex. There is not one person on this earth that is perfect, but that s the beauty of it. Everyone has moments in their lives where they might just go crazy. Mass hysteria is a condition affecting a group of persons, characterized by excitement or anxiety, irrational behavior or beliefs, or inexplicable symptoms of illness (Dictionary.com). There have been multiple instances where large amounts of people have identical symptoms that alienate them from others in society. Many factors play into the incline of mass hysteria in students over others: similar social problems, challenges, or traumatic events. Everyone deals with stress at some point in their life, and students especially are burdened with many different forms of it. Earlier this year, in the Okongo territory of Ohangwena, Namibia, the Oshisho Combined School experienced its first outbreak of unnatural behavior. Basically, a bunch of girls at the school were acting and doing very abnormal things and no one knew what was going on. According to the African News Service, the students exhibited strange behaviour such as speaking in what sounded like a strange language. There were a lot of rumors swirling around that coerced people into thinking that the bizarre behavior, from mostly girls, was related to that of witchcraft. They diagnosed the girls with the medical condition called Mass Hysteria (African news service 2017). This quote, and the details succeeding it, supports the idea that ... • 13. Book Report On The Book Hatchet Hatchet Book Report In the novel Hatchet, by Gary Paulsen the theme is survival of the fittest. In Hatchet, by Gary Paulsen the book binds you to continue reading it until the very end. It like you are there with Brian and had a very descriptive image what it would look like standing next to him. A book is a magical thing that lets you travel to far away places without leaving your chair Katrina Mayer. The plot of Hatchet, by Gary Paulsen is very interesting because of how you could imagine yourself right next to Brian like a seeing everything he sees. The plot was realistic because it actually could happen in real life and probably has happened in real life. Like how the plane ran out of gas and he had to try and land the plane. When he ran out of fuel the plane would start down (Paulsen, Gary). He would have to find a clearing as he went down (Paulsen, Gary). Throughout the story Brian has obstacles of survival he had to overcome. Landing the plane was just one of them he also had to find shelter, He had to have some kind of shelter, he needed a fire to drive away the mosquitoes, I will have fire here, he thought, and struck again I will have fire from the hatchet (Paulsen, Gary). Throughout the story he has to face challenges to survive and overcome them. The main conflict in this story is man vs. nature and a little of man vs. self. Brain struggles against how he has to adapt and conquer his new environment. He also struggles against the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 14. A Summary On Charismatic Faith And Ministry Summary of Charismatic Faith and Ministry Charismatic Faith and Ministry is a comprehensive book of Charismatic Systematic Theology. The first three quarters of the book were a brief dissection of systematic theology, much of what we have studied in other classes, but in a more condensed form. The belief system expressed by Dr. Daniel Thimell was no great departure from most conservative, reformed, evangelical orthodoxy except for the addition of the Charismatic. I believe the real meat of the book started with chapter eleven, Charismatic Ministry. Here Thimell continues his systematic approach to the book, but now switches to the rest of the story, the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives today. Thimell takes a very academic and cerebral approach to the gospel. His lack of personal encounters and stories are evidence to that fact. However, this is a refreshing approach that presents the gospel with just the basic facts and not many frills. I believe that Thimell s purpose in writing this book was not to give an exhaustive book on Charismatic Theology, but to show how Charismata fit within his systematic theology. Thimell showed that Charismata is not an appendix to the Bible, but an integral and many times overlooked theology that interweaves through the whole Bible, from Genesis to Revelation. It seems that Dr. Thimell tries to relate to the reader on a more personal level with his connections with Star Wars and the WWJD analogy. Both concepts are points well taken and ... FTC claimed that based on various analysis and evidence, proposed merger between Staples and Office Depot will harm competition in office superstore chain market and raise market price which will lessen customers welfare. Nevertheless, two parties of merger casted doubt on every detailed statement, and interpreted that this merger will reduce costs, broaden scale of economies, improve economic efficiency, and optimize resource allocation, and then lower market price efficiently. Finally, the Court chose to agree with FTC s contention. Office superstores can get access to much more convenient and cheaper supply of goods than small retailers through signing a mass of contracts with suppliers. They are mostly located in downtown business districts, and own considerable floor areas, a wide variety of product types and sizable supply size. • 18. A Brief Note On Labor And Leisure Katy Miller Labour and Leisure essay two Women and Labour: The changing roles in our working society through a lens. It s hard to believe in this day and age with so many opportunities for woman to become successful in a carer and contribute to the working society that before the First World War only ninety years ago marriage meant the end of that chance for so many young people. By looking at both short films and film depictions, I want to show the journey of how the Labour industry has changed from being a majority lead male dominated working environment with the social status for woman changing from those who are either unmarried or in poor lower class families in domestic feminine held jobs, to those of married woman, in a well to do family made to give up chances of education and carer for themselves, married off to become leisurely ladies of the house and made to stay home with the children while there husband became the sole earner. Regardless of her social status, most woman surrendered her rights from the day she married but if on the off chance she was able to work in one of these domestic arenas such as the textile and clothing industry the jobs would have been of little satisfaction and that of a low wage. This was to be true of a time in Victorian England, but in 1895 French director Louis Lumiẻre created a short black and white silent documentary that showed a single screen of French workers in Lyon leaving the Lumiẻre factory called Workers ... In real life, humans have many traits that allow us to be considered top of the hierarchical food chain, yet allow us to remain in classifications with animal species mammals. Humans are a highly developed species, with abilities that surpass nearly all other animals on the planet. This being said, this complexity allows for many conflicts to arise, as well as differing opinions on solutions. Although humans are so evolved, some argue that animal instincts found in humans are still quite prevalent. In The Walking Dead, the virus being embedded in everyone s brain could be a reflection of humans inherent animalistic qualities. If we continue with this analogy, the virus could represent the potential that every human has to become a monster (in a figurative sense in reality, or a literal sense in the series). This furthers the idea that zombie narratives tend to mirror societies fears and anxieties over the condition of the world, or possible events that could occur, all while placing responsibility at the hands of humanity.
