Adolf Hitler was born on April 20, 1889 in Austria. Hitler was a German politician and the leader of
the Nazi Party. Adolf Hitler was a decorated veteran from World War I. The Treaty of Versailles
directly affected the German people and Hitler. The Treaty of Versailles was a peace treaty set in place
at the end of World War I to end the war. One of the most crucial and contentious problems with this
treaty was it required that the country of Germany to disarm, take guilt and pay apologies to the other
countries.
The treaty of Versailles did not run well for Hitler and when he became chancellor in 1933. His Nazi
Party became the largest elected party in Germany. After becoming chancellor, Hitler worked to
rebuild their economy and wanted better living space for the people of Germany. He achieved better
living space by killing all Jews. In 1934 President Von Hindenburg of Germany died and Hitler took

In this story Kody s actions are learned first through the observations of others in his neighborhood or
school. People all around him at the time were deciding to join gangs; it was the thing to do. During
his initiation he observed what the others did when it was his turn to shoot at the people in the streets,

member of the gang. After that night his gang members positively reinforced him anytime he killed or
hurt anyone from the enemy gangs, at times even civilians. Even while his mother was disapproving

Poverty rates among all citizens are highest in the extremely urban and truly rural areas of the United
States. However, poverty rates, as measured by the Department of Agriculture s Economic Research
Service, are higher in non metro areas as compared to metropolitan centers. The demographics of
poverty offer insight to public administrators and policy writers beyond the demographics of simply
rural versus metro areas. For example, in 2016 rural White citizens were half as likely to live in
poverty as either Black or Native American citizens. In addition, a female head of household in a rural
area is nearly eight times as likely to live in poverty as a married couple. Couple these demographics
with the fact that only 46 million citizens live in nonmetro areas roughly 15% of the national
population it is not surprising that rural areas seem to receive less attention by federally elected
officials than urban and suburban areas. At the county level, poverty as defined by the US government
is an immensely rural problem, with the most remote rural places at the greatest disadvantage. It
would seem obvious that where and how an individual lives would matter in a person s ability to rise

The screenplay Metacarpi is the story of an institutionalized pianist and a lion aspiring friend whose
pursuit of freedom explores ideas of whether we might be happier in an institution if it allows us to

When coming up with the story for the script, I first created the character of Dmitriy and the story
grew out of his character. A simple characterization of Dmitriy is a man struggling to free himself,

of this would be that at no point in the script does George verbally express that he wants to dress up as

What do words actually mean? When we are reading, many of us don t actually stop to think about the
meaning of each word (unless the word is unfamiliar), instead we just assume what it means we read
automatically. Looking at the poem, To A Poor Old Woman by William Carlos Williams, we see the
Shklovsky s concept of defamiliarization in use. When we look at Shklovsky s concept, The technique
of art is to make objects unfamiliar to make forms difficult, to increase the difficulty and length of
perception because the process of perception is an aesthetic end in itself and must be prolonged
(Rivkin and Ryan 9). Using this same concept, looking at the first stanza of To a Poor Old Woman, we
see the way that the stanza was structured in a way to make it unfamiliar. The author splits the
sentences up where they normally wouldn t be split up, so that gives that sense of unfamiliarity, so we
begin to question what the words actually mean. If a person attempts to read it as a normal sentence,
we would see that someone is eating a plum, the street is a paper bag, and something is in her hand.
The reason I believe the lines are broken up in a weird way is because it s trying to give that sense of
unfamiliarity to get an audience to focus on what this stanza is really trying to say. Looking at the

Five years from now no one is going to care that I had to retake a class along the way. I signed up to
retake the class, dropped my class load to part time, and geared up for this semester. At first I wanted
to keep this information of not passing the class to myself. I didn t want to allow others to judge me,

In this paper, an artificial food dye will be made to mimic the color of Full Throttle. To determine
what food dye are needed, Full Throttle will be put through a spectrometer to determine what
wavelengths are absorbed. Specific wavelengths absorbed will correspond to specific colors absorbed.
It was determined that yellow 5 and yellow 6 will be used to make our artificial food dye to mimic
Full Throttle. Using Beer s Law, it was determined that a concentration of 0.0000236 moles of Yellow
5 and a concentration of 0.0001494 moles of yellow 6. Using our line of best fit from the absorption

numbers that were extremely small. After help from the TA, it was found that our concentrations used
where twice as small of a concentration compared to what was actually used for Full Throttle. To
correct this the molarity s were multiplied by ½. For example when finding the x value in our equation
y=2.044x+0.2067 the answer is x = 7.28 5 moles. To correct this, that number is multiplied by 0.5 to
get the correct value of 3.64*10^ 5. This new number is what was used in the equation c1v1=c2v2.
After the solution was made to mimic Full Throttle it was discovered that the beverage only had one
food dye. The experiment was intended to have a beverage with two food dyes present. To make up
for this, orange PowerAde was used and the experiment was repeated for orange PowerAde. The
solution was made for the orange PowerAde and its absorption graph was compared to that of the
diluted orange PowerAde solution. Comparing the two graphs, have the same peaks although these
peaks are at different absorption levels. Since the two graphs have the same peaks it is safe to assume
that the same food dyes are present in both solutions. It is important to note that there are two peaks in
each graph despite only seeing one peak. This is because both peaks are located so close to each other

As one of the most well known and studied artists of the Italian Renaissance, Sandro Botticelli
changed many of the ideals of Renaissance painting. His devotion to the depiction of the Beautiful
resulted in rhythmic and poetic art that has left realism and logic behind in the quest for divine beauty.
Through abstraction and the divine, Botticelli transposed onto a plane of pure spirituality where no
distinctions or fine shades are any longer possible, where all values are balanced out and merged ,
transcending the natural to show sublime images of divine beauty. This paper will examine two of
Botticelli s paintings of Venus, in the Birth of Venus (Fig.1) and in the Primavera (Fig.2), and will
consider that the two pieces were created as sister works. Through analysis of ancient and Renaissance
texts, it shows that the two paintings, when considered together, they show key concepts of
Neoplatonic philosophy, specifically that of the two Venuses: Earthly and Heavenly. Both the Birth of
Venus and Primavera add to a narrative that implies a physical manifestation of the derivation of
divine beauty and love from Heaven to Earth.
In the Birth of Venus, Venus is painted nude in the center of the composition and she is standing in
contrapposto, posing as the Venus pudica. The Venus Pudica pose means that the goddess s hands are
over her breasts and genital area, giving Venus an opportunity to poorly attempt to maintain some
form of modesty, when in reality, the placement of Venus s hands brings more attention to her nudity.
Venus Pudica was a common pose among female nude sculptures of ancient greco roman culture, as in
