Culture
I think culture, simply is what remains after the various historical cycles. Through each of the
development cycle, people interact with others and developing a new culture. Culture is an objective
phenomenon, an integration of all aspects of life. Even the smallest aspects of life have a culture. It
was suggested that the ongoing world phenomenon of cultural invasion is the result of aggression by
firearm and economic. I disagree with that theory because to me, culture is peace, culture is not
aggression. The integration of cultural aspects is the process of people finding a common language for
a common life. The concept of cultural invasion is the notion of the community who have experienced
only formed in relations, development and the experience of war, especially the Cold War. In the
Western culture homes of Americans, British, French we will see souvenirs from the orient.
Sometimes in Western societies people tend to see the existence of a few souvenirs and ornaments
from the East as a sign of elite or civilized. That is intertwined of life, it is the peaceful coexistence of
the past, and there is also the cultural basis of peaceful coexistence in the future.
Typically, civilization is used to indicate the level of development of physical and human spirit to a

Communication Is A Complex Aspect Of Human Life
Communication is a complex aspect of human life that upon closer investigation gives one a deeper
understanding of what messages individuals are truly attempting to convey. There are four different
channels through which signals and cues send messages from sender to receiver and vice versa. Those
channels are the following; auditory, visual, tactile, and scent channels. Three of the four channels are
non linguistic channels that demonstrate that a large portion of communication occurs through non
linguistic means. Individuals are consistently using these four channels in everyday interactions with
one another. Humans minds and bodies have been shaped by natural selection to send a variety of
verbal and non verbal signals. A signal is intentional and has been evolved to produce a certain
reaction. Signals are honest because they are linked to one s genes. Due to the wide reach signals have
in one s everyday life a broad analysis of signals would be ineffective for this analysis. Therefore, this
analysis will focus on the role signals play in courtship. One will explore a total of five different
sources of empirical evidence in order to gain a deeper understanding of why individuals may have
evolved to produce and react to courtship signals. One will attempt to demonstrate that individuals
have evolved to produce and react to courtship signals in order to be able to determine a potential
mates interest. Though courtship signals may not guarantee that one will achieve a

Grocery-Personal Narrative
It was an average weeknight, my brothers and I goofing around, my mom sewing, and my dad was out
getting groceries. All of a sudden my dog Rascal started spazzing on the ground and breathing really
heavy. It was very confusing at first because he was fine and then he wasn t. We put a blanket under
him and relaxed with him. When my dad came home he said stuff in my private with my mom and
they came back in and said it was time for bed. So we all went to bed hoping he was going to be okay.
The next morning when we got up we expected Rascal to still be up stairs but he wasn t. So we all
started getting worried but it turns out my mom brought him downstairs. So we went got ready and
went to school. I was in 7th grade I think and well that was

Humanistic Approach To Psychotherapy
During my earlier years as undergraduate, I recall being very interested in the humanistic approach to
psychotherapy, simply because it was congenial to the person I was at that time. I was deeply
interested in the concepts of free will, self concept, self actualization, and most importantly, conditions
of worth. In addition, when I considered the type of therapist I would have been the most willing to do
therapeutic work with, I tended to think of a therapist with a humanistic orientation. However, I was
quite naïve and discredited the other theoretical orientations.
While taking two upper upper division courses (i.e., Clinical Psychology History and Systems), I
began to get more exposure to other perspectives. As a result, I became more

Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency Is A State Agency Of...
The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency is a state agency of the state of Tennessee. Their goal is to
manage the states fish and wildlife population and also to enforce the wildlife related laws of the state.
They help to protect and preserve the right to hunt not only for the present time, but also for the future.
In just this past year, the agency has established some new regulations that have caused an uproar in
the hunting community. The two rules which have been headlined in most conversations is the new
two buck limit for the states hunting season, and the new antler restrictions on what is considered a
buck. Due to the success of many other states with fewer buck limits, TWRA has established these
rules. These new rules are designed to have long term affects on not only hunters, but also possibly the
whole state for years to come. While there may be a lot of good that may come from these new
changes, there also may be a negative impact hidden between the lines. These rules have been
designed to increase the amount of trophy deer in the state, increase the amount of doe kills in the
state, and also to truly make hunters picky about what they shoot. The ultimate dream of nearly all
outdoorsmen in the United States of America today is to kill a mature old whitetail buck, and these
chances have been very few and far between in the state of Tennessee in the past. In order for a male
whitetail deer to grow into, what some might call, a trophy buck, it will take a

The Louis Vuitton Speedy Bag Essay
1. The Louis Vuitton Speedy Bag is constructed by its famous Monogram Canvas. The monogram
canvas contains the famous LV design. An often misconception about the Speedy bag is that the bag
itself is derived from cotton and is not actually leather, it is just manufactured to feel as though it is.
However, the handles, stamp on the front, and pulls anywhere else on the bag are in fact leather. The
bags are water resistant, durable and easy to clean. They come in four different sizes; 25, 30, 35, 40.
The speedy bag is an iconic piece from all Louis Vuitton Collections. The bag originated from Paris as
that is where Louis Vuitton himself is from. The size 25 Speedy bag is priced at $950, the 30 at $970,
the 35 at $990 and the 40 at $1,010 (Louis Vuitton). The Speedy itself comes in three different colors,
the original LV Monogram Canvas, the Damier Ebene Canvas, and the Damier Azur Canvas. This
item can be bought in any Louis Vuitton retailer including online. The Speedy bag can also be bought
in the following department stores, Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, Barney s,
Bloomingdales, and many other high end department retailers.
2. A. The demographics for Louis Vuitton are older customers in a wealthier working class. They
target both men and women with a high disposable income, and are well professionals in their

What Is Daisy s Personality In The Great Gatsby
The Lavish Lifestyle of F. Scott Fitzgerald Author F. Scott Fitzgerald was born in 1886 in St. Paul,
Minnesota to Edward and Molly Fitzgerald. His mother s family had been very wealthy, and when his
mother s father passed she inherited her father s fortune. Fitzgerald s father, Edward, was a distant
relative to Francis Scott Key, the writer of The Star Spangled Banner . Fitzgerald was named after the
aforementioned relative, Francis Scott Key, and destined to be great in the eyes of his mother and
father. Fitzgerald is known best for his works throughout the Jazz Age; the period of time from 1918
1929.
Two women had raised Edward Fitzgerald, his grandmother and mother, after his father passed.
Fitzgerald was said to have been more compassionate and have strong ethics passed down from the
women. F. Scott Fitzgerald himself saw his father, having been raised by two women, rather than a
man and a woman, shaped his personality differently than it may have been had Edward s father been
alive, as he said in his novel Tender Is the Night,

In 1925, Fitzgerald wrote his famed novel The Great Gatsby. Gatsby s main character, Daisy, is widely
based off of his wife, Zelda. While writing, Zelda began a love affair with a man named Edouard
Jozan. Fitzgerald portrayed himself through the other main characters, Jay Gatsby and Nick Carroway.
Many make the assumption that Gatsby s ruthless love and fixation on Daisy is derived from his own
endless devotion to his wife, despite her affair, It doubtless also colored Fitzgerald s tragic depiction
of Jay Gatsby s romantic obsession with Daisy in The Great Gatsby. (Rompalske). The second the
story was out, it was considered a hit. Fitzgerald was very famous during his lifetime. He was often

La Belle Dame Sans Meri
This paper will be a study on La Belle Dame Sans Meri. This painting is an oil sketch for Waterhouse

Germany. John William Waterhouse was a man of very many talents. He was able to apply a natural
setting. His art work is one of a kind and beautiful. He applies a combina favorite artists. The piece of
work that I will be discussing is La Belle Dame Sans Merci.
John William Waterhouse was born in Italy, 1849 within the city of Rome. According to history on
April sixth, Waterhouse was baptized. Though we know many aspects of John William Waterhouse,
we don t know his actual birthday. Waterhouse s parents were also artists, from which they came from
England. His parents helped John William Waterhouse become the amazing artist he was. During the
time of Waterhouse s birth the Industrial Revolution was happening. This led many other artists to act
out against other artists who painted a more realistic style. They did this by painting in a new, different
way by painting pure lines. This style came out during the classical period. Waterhouse has a style that
was unlike any other painter, which made him completely unique (Artable, com, 2016). John William
Waterhouse style of art work falls into a category called per Raphaelite. He gathered a lot of his style
of art from Impressionists. Waterhouse gathered much of his inspiration from Arthurian legends and

Motivator Factors Of A Burnout
Burnout
A burnout refers to the distressed psychological state an employee might experience after being on the
job for a period of time. Employees who suffer from a burnout are emotionally exhausted and have
low work motivation (i.e. possessing little energy and enthusiasm for the job). Burnouts are the results
of working intensely with other people. A study in 2000 done by Bakker, Schaufeli, Sixma, Bosveld
and Van Dierendonck found that patient demands are associated with burnout in physicians and led to
emotional exhaustion (e.g. absence and fatigue), depersonalization (e.g. hostility towards others or
callous and uncaring treatment of clients and other people) and reduced personal accomplishment (e.g.
low motivation and poor performance).

For example, the company can give bonuses and rewards to motivate the consultants to work harder.
This can be supported by Herzberg (1968), in his two factor theory. There are two categories of needs:
Hygiene and Motivator factors. Hygiene factor include pay, supervision, and organisational policies.
Lack of this factor would lead to dissatisfaction. However, presence of this factor would not
necessarily lead to satisfaction because these are the basic, foundational needs for employees. The
next factor, motivator factor, includes achievement, recognition, responsibility, and nature of job itself.
Presence of this factor would lead to job satisfaction. However, absence of this factor leads to lack of
satisfaction and not dissatisfaction. Thus, giving rewards and bonuses (a form of recognition and
achievement) would allow these employees to be more satisfied with their jobs. They would also be
motivated to perform better at work and this subsequently leads to better overall

Theories Of Bering Strait Theory
The bering strait theory is named after Vitus Bering. It is also known as the land bridge theory as well,
the theory takes places during the ice age it is said that the waters of the Bering straits were frozen
over and match up, making sea levels lower which allowed the natives of North America to cross over
from Asia via Siberia. They did not walk over ice they made a route. This is the origin of our fellow
native people. Many believe that the first people to populate the Americas migrated across the Bering
Land Bridge while tracking large game animal herds. Becoming the roots of the bering strait theory. It
s model of how migration started. Even today this shows us how many have crossed america looking

Health Services And Health Care
Introduction:
Access to comprehensive, quality health care services is important for the achievement of health
equity and for increasing the quality of a healthy life for everyone (Healthy People 2020). Access to
health services means the timely use of personal health services to attain the best health outcomes.
Access to care is important because it delivers gaining entry to the health care system which impacts
the overall aspects of health; Access is also the key to early detection of illnesses, disease prevention
and overall better outcomes. (Healthy People 2020). In my department, access to care is critical
because of the type of population that we deal with. Limited access to health care impacts people s
ability to reach their full potential, negatively affecting their quality of life and in some can make a
difference between life and death.

Problem Of Evil By Leibniz Essay
1. Faith and Reasoning
A man by the name of Gottfried Leibniz is a man who believed and created a reason of proof to show
why and how God exists. Although Leibniz used different reason to show Gods existence such as law,
theology, physics and mathematics he used different strategies to prove that God exist. Leibniz argued
the statement that 2+2=4 which is logically correct. Basically through law, physics, mathematics,
theology, you can simply kind of have an idea of how it is possible to solve how God exists.
Another person is Ivan Karamazov is another person who does not believe that there is a possible
reason to prove the existence of God. Karamazov is a person who does believe in God he just doesn t
believe there is a reason to show how there is proof. Furthermore he does not understand the concept
of geometry and how it works. He ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Problem of Evil
The philosophical problem of evil is that it didn t happen on purpose its something that just happened
by nature. The term evil goes into response towards people or humans. Sometimes God allows
unwanted things to happen. Although he may allow it to happen maybe he s trying to teach you a
lesson; not saying that God was teaching these children a lesson but I m saying in general things
hypothetically don t happen on purpose it s just something we have no control over. In this case this
type of Evil is Instrumental Evil it s something that has no purpose no intentions of happening it just
happens. Fyodor Dostoevsky is absolutely obsessed with children I believe he might respond in a way
by saying why did this happen to those innocent children. Dostoevsky is upset because when it comes
down to children being severely hurt or suffering he tends to think that it s a portrayal to society. He
doesn t want any more suffering towards children. I in a way can understand his point of view because
I myself do to enjoy children, and I wouldn t want to see no kids nor parents having to go through

William Shakespeare s Measure For Measure
Name Tutor Course Date Power and Greed In any given society power and greed are often noted as
societal factors that tend to exist together such that one of them influences the other. In William
Shakespeare s play, Measure for Measure the two concepts have been clearly depicted through Lord
Angelo and the Duke s action of using their power to win the love of Claudio s sister, Isabella. Based
on the theme of this play, one can argue that leaders sometimes use their power to influence the lives
of others or control a particular agenda. It is represented through Lord Angelo who uses his
manipulative nature for personal gratification with Isabella, revealing the positive and negative
characteristics of his character and exposing the truth of human nature. The paper discusses the
concept of authority and greed to understand how people in authority use their power to fulfill their
personal desires by taking advantage of their position or authority. Leaders in power use their
authority and power for personal gain and attaining of fame. In many given societies it can be argued
that those in power uses their power and authority to manipulate the law and attain popularity from a
particular group. It is clearly demonstrated and argued that they don t apply the law equally and with
justice instead given race or people are favored by that law and others punished using similar law.
When those in power makes mistakes, it has always been hard for them to be prosecuted by law. In

to provide an overview of which segments H M should specially target when launching in Melbourne.
3.1 Profile One Women s outwear segment
The foremost market segment that H M should target would be the women s outerwear segment which
includes all garments from tops to blouses to jackets (REFERENCE). Main reason being, this market
segment is reasonably profitable with a Retail Value of over $3000 million (Refer to figure XX),
where women have traditionally been the dominate consumer in the clothing and footwear industry
(REFERENCE). However, there appears to be a new social trend where men are becoming more
fashion minded and are also looking for cheaper options (REFERENCE). In recent times, there has
been a change in preference for young women, where they do not only demand for high quality yet
fashionable products, it must also be low priced (REFERENCE). H M should then be able to target
this segment, as the company s core concept coincides with this new trend. Where H M s women s
clothing are designed for women of all ages who are fashion minded, where its product line includes
everything from modern basics to tailored classics, sportswear, maternity clothes and cutting edge

The Role Of Rape In Laurie Halse Anderson s Speak

popular, but she had a core group of friends. Her assault changed all of that. According to a report in
the late 1990 s, the number of incidents of date rape has slowly declined. In the 1990s, the time period

she is slowly deteriorating inside and out following her rape (Anderson 82). Throughout the novel, she

the adaptation of low self esteem. Hart writes that, she has little protection between her outer and inner
self proving that her thoughts are uncontrolled and lead to impulse habits that physically destroy her

The fall of France in 1940 was inevitable. During the course of World War 1, France was hit with
many huge blows which brings up the question if the fall of France could or could not be prevented.
For instance, Germany invaded them and they faced several casualties from the start to 1940.
Germany s attack on the Ardenne Forest severely weakened France. Hitler making his troops go to

The French government, in office since 21 March 1940, had been ousted on 16 June 1940 in a cabinet

Germans. Marshal Philippe Pétain came to power because of his anti democratic agenda and a

Germany so that they didn t have to worry about France overthrowing them. He and his supporters

Death and Time in Slaughterhouse-Five
Death and Time in Slaughterhouse Five
We all wish we could travel through time, going back to correct our stupid mistakes or zooming ahead
to see the future. In Kurt Vonnegut s novel Slaughterhouse Five, however, time travel does not seem
so helpful. Billy Pilgrim, Vonnegut s main character, has come unstuck in time. He bounces back and
forth between his past, present, and future lives in a roller coaster time trip that proves both senseless
and numbing. Examining Billy s time traveling, his life on Tralfamadore, and the novel s
schizophrenic structure shows that time travel is actually a metaphor for our human tendency to avoid
facing the unpleasant reality of death.
Because he cannot control time ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are plenty of other moments of time, they reason, when that person is alive. Therefore, death
can be overlooked as a chronological inconvenience.
This philosophy of life and death they instill in Billy himself, speaking to him in a disembodied voice
which floats down into the zoo cage which serves as his home:
We spend eternity looking at pleasant moments like today at the zoo. Isn t this a nice moment? Yes.
[Billy answered] That s the one thing Earthlings might learn to do, if they tried hard enough: Ignore
the awful times, and concentrate on the good ones. (117)
But ignoring death and its suffering is exactly what Billy should not be doing, Vonnegut suggests. To
do so makes him, like the Tralfamadorians, alien and inhuman. He has no sense of his own mortality,
an awareness he needs in order to understand that, as Stephen Marten has observed, life is valuable not
because it is infinite but because it is so scarce (11).
Curiously, Vonnegut uses the Tralfamadorian idea that books, like life, should have no beginning, no
middle, no end, no suspense, no moral, no causes, no effects (88). As he states on the title page of , his
novel is written somewhat in the telegraphic, schizophrenic manner of the tales of the planet
Tralfamadore (i). True to his promise, the book has no orderly plot but

What Is Good To Tell Essay
One That is Good to Tell but Not to Experience
There once was a little girl who liked to take small risks. She never was an outgoing person but she
would to do certain things that was the slightest dangerous or not the best choice to take. Everyone
makes mistakes every once in a while that might change their life. Back in third grade I lived in a
suburb of Chicago called Yorkville. It was a lovely neighborhood and I had so many friends there that
I played with almost everyday. I had two friends that were sisters that lived across the street, Ashley
and April, that were probably two or three years younger than me and also twins. Ashley, April and I
all were playing in my driveway and I was a dog so I would follow them around the driveway. It was

Compare And Contrast Freud Vs Hobsbawm
Philosophers Sigmund Freud and Eric Hobsbawm present two explanations of the origins of
civilization in their books Civilization and its Discontent and Nations and Nationalism since 1780,
respectively. In doing so, each philosopher establish a distinct, and somewhat similar, definition of
civilization. According to Freud, civilization describes the whole sum of the achievements and the
regulations which distinguish our lives from those of our animal ancestors. (Freud, 63) There are
distinct features of a civilization, such as beauty, the encouragement of man s higher mental activities
his intellectual, scientific and artistic achievements (Freud, 69) and the social relations between men.
While Freud refers to this union of a group ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Hobsbawm emphasizes that proto nationalism was the mobilizing (of) certain variants of feelings of
collective belonging which already existed and which could operate, as it were, potentially on the
macro political scale which could fit in with modern states and nations. (Hobsbawm, 52) The
consciousness, therefore, of belonging to a nation requires the citizens of a country (to become) a sort
of community, though an imagined one, and its members therefore found themselves seeking for and
consequently finding, things in common, places, practices, personages, memories, signs and symbols.
(Hobsbawm, 90) This foundational development is essentially one of patriotism, in which the
individual evokes a feeling of loyalty and pride in their nation through symbols, language and
ethnicity. While these feelings of pro nationalism may occur, if an individual is, for instance, to have
thoughts of desire to burn the national flag or act in an anti nationalist way, then they will have
feelings of guilt. Freud explains that the origins of the sense of guilt (are): one arising from fear of an
authority, and the other, later on, arising from fear of the super ego. (Freud, 119) The state, therefore,
is the super ego that oppresses the Id of the individual who has these perverted thoughts. One can
additionally apply this to the original ways in which

Essay about Canadian-Aboriginals
Aboriginal Canadians have an excessive history of mistreatment and discrimination in Canada.
Europeans considered Canada s First Nations as savages, eventually residential schools were created
which in extreme cases were comparable to Prisoner of War camps. According to Evelyn Kallen,
Substandard housing breeding disease and death, closed schools due to lack of teachers, heat, and/or

I believe this is a step in the right direction for Aboriginal rights. It is crucial to preserve Aboriginal
history to create a just nation for Canada. As well, it is equally important to retrieve information from
elders regarding their extensive traditions and beliefs and to preserve these traditional stories. The
Canadian government should allocate funding towards Aboriginal festivals, museums, and other
public events to educate all Canadians about Aboriginal culture and heritage, as well, this would show
respect for Aboriginal Canadians. Therefore, I believe funding allocated to the preservation of
Aboriginal history can improve the plight of Aboriginal Canadians. Second, Canada s First Nations
plight can be improved through self governance. According to Pocklington, For several years,
Canadian aboriginal leaders have been demanding the recognition of a right of Native self

Capital Punishment And Capital Involvement
Capital punishment is an individual punishment to death for committing a crime. The history of
capital punishment fluctuates worldwide, between different governments and beliefs. The current
issue of capital punishment is taking lives without having a reliable reason to take them to the death
penalty. One large and main issue is that capital punishment breaches, or breaks two essential human
rights, which are the rights to life, and rights to living free of torture. This is a huge issue because an
individual should not be able to surpass any conditions when the operations of the executions go
against human rights. Another opposition of capital punishment is that many countries are sided with
the penalties, however, the citizens of the country may think differently dependant on their religions
and beliefs. The opposition between the government and the population in the country is another large
issue because the diverse opinion only makes matters worse. Though many countries remain to argue
that the punishments are beneficial, terminating the legal penalty would save thousands of lives.
Discontinuing the penalties would benefit the whole world by cutting the large amount of taxes just
for individual deaths, and the new adjustment would save lives from false reasons, and
misunderstandings.
UN Involvement: The main participant into capital punishment is the OHCHR or the Office of the
High Commissioner for Human Rights. The committee is helping with the global issue by having

This conception of gender presupposes not only a causal relation among sex, gender, and desire, but
suggests as well that desire reflects or expresses gender and that gender reflects or expresses desire
(Butler 30). That is to say, if one is an anatomical female, then she must reveal the female
characteristics widely recognized in the society, like the feminine behavior, dress and makeup, and the
one she loves must be the opposite sex, an anatomical male. This continuum is socially accepted and
regarded as reasonable and stable, which can be deduced from one part to another. So after Eddie
expresses convincing female characteristics by drag, people take it for granted that Eudoxia is an
anatomical female, and Eudoxia and Angelos is a normal couple. In this way, Eddie seems to
successfully solve his identity problem; resorting to the Eudoxia identity, Eddie not only finds an
apparent complete self, but also gets a satisfying relation: Eudoxia thinks that she and Angelos have
been made for each other, that our minds as well as our bodies fit, every bump to every cranny, and

The Ethan Couch Case
Affluenza, the guilt or lack of motivation experienced by people who have made or inherited large
amounts of money. The case that brought the term affluenza about was the Ethan Couch case. The
case is about how Couch essentially killed four people but got out of doing time in prison because of
money and his inability to make good decisions thanks to his parents and wealth. The author of this
paper believes that Ethan Couch should have gotten harsher sentencing. The sentence should have

injured. The reasons that Affluenza is not a valid excuse for getting away with a heinous crime are, the
term was only brought up by a witness during the Couch ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Affluenza was used as a reason for Couch needing to have his charges lessened, but in looking
through reasons that someone can have their sentence lessened Affluenza was not among them. The
term itself is just a mix of affluence and influenza. Neither of these things would lessen a sentence in
court by itself, and affluenza is not term even used in any courts nor does it hold weight as a term.
Ethan Couch was old enough to make decisions by himself. He would have known that drinking
heavily and driving was a bad decision. If he had just acted his age he would have either asked
someone to drive him of gotten a taxi to go home, and avoided the whole incident and not had to go to
court. He was 16 years old at the time of the case so he would have known what he did was wrong.
The final issue with the term Affluenza is that the term itself gives rich people the right to say that
Affluenza was the cause of their crime. If Affluenza is to be used as a valid excuse for a crime then
other people would be able to create their own special reason for why they did their crime. Any rich
person or semi wealthy person could say that they or a relative were affected by Affluenza and could

The Effects Of Murine Chronic Cerebral Hypoperfusion
Abstract Murine chronic cerebral hypoperfusion (CCH) results in white matter (WM) injury and
behavioral deficits. Pericytes influence blood brain barrier (BBB) integrity and cerebral blood flow.
Under hypoxic conditions, perictyes detach from perivascular locations, increasing vessel
permeability and neuronal injury. This study characterizes the time course of BBB dysfunction and
pericyte coverage following murine experimental CCH secondary to bilateral carotid artery stenosis
(BCAS). Mice underwent BCAS or sham operation. On post procedure days 1, 3, 7 and 30, corpus
callosum BBB permeability was characterized using Evans blue (EB) extravasation and IgG staining
and pericyte coverage was calculated. The BCAS cohort demonstrated increased EB extravasation on
postoperative days 1 (p=.03) and 3 (p=.01) when compared to sham mice. Further, EB extravasation
was significantly greater (p=.03) at day 3 than at day 30 in BCAS mice. Positive IgG staining was
seen at post procedure day 3 in the BCAS group. BCAS mice demonstrated a nadir in pericyte
coverage on post operative day 3 (p50%) was reported to be 7% in women and 9% in men3. Clinical
carotid endarterectomy studies of cerebral hypoperfusion, demonstrate a nearly 25% incidence of
subtle cognitive decline in the absence of overt neurologic change or radiographic evidence of stroke4.
Neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer s disease and vascular dementia have become

In the novel, FAHRENHEIT 451 by Ray Bradbury, Guy Montag lives in an inverted society, where

The ups and downs of the premium jeans industry and the constant fluctuating of threats to the
industry made it interesting to see how the denim lines would respond. They were originated in the
1970s by Calvin Klein who created highly priced, skin tight jeans who used celebrities (i.e. Brooke
Shields) to endorse the product. Since they were higher priced compared to your common, regular
blue jeans sold by mainstream brands like Lee and Wrangler, they were meant to serve as fashion
statements as opposed to comfort. They started off well in early on in the 1980s, but then hit a decline

As we discussed in class, a threat of substitute does not necessarily just mean other high end,
premium, higher priced jeans. Substitutes could include any types of jeans. There are skinny jeans that
are mentioned throughout the case, as well as slim cut jeans, straight cut jeans, low/medium/high rise
jeans, etc. Any type of jean poses as a threat to premium denim jeans because consumers fashion
senses are constantly changing. As of late, more people have shifted towards the casual, relaxed fit
jean type of lifestyle, as opposed to before the down economy started in 2008 where many were
trending more towards the fashion forward or the aspirational shopper as the case described. The
aspirational shopper consists of a middle class person ($75,000 150,000 income per year) who is
willing to buy luxurious, high end jeans. So the overall point here is that all jean types are a threat of
substitutes. Another layer of substitutes could really be any type of pants in general. People love
wearing sweat pants around the house, females tend to wear a lot of dresses and skirts nowadays,
leather pants are somewhat of a trend, and everybody wears shorts at some point in the year. So these
are threats of substitutes as well. Lastly, any other high end products people could choose to spend
money on pose as threats as well. Maybe consumers will choose to spend their money on high end
accessories such as a new watch, or maybe a handbag or scarf if

related to prolong separation from the parent as evidence by long amounts of time with no physical
contact with the baby. It was clear that both mom and dad were emotionally stressed by not being able
to provide basic needs for their newborn, and physical contact was restricted to small amounts of
touching through the isolette. It was also clear that mom and dad had still not developed any comfort

professionals often worked long hours and considered Friday nights as an opening to get out and
socialize. Generally this age group will have more money than the price sensitive students and will
most likely be able to afford the $2 price increase of which Martin was considering. As this
demographic currently represented the largest customer group, and one of the higher spending groups,
it is evident that Friday Night Live should continue to appeal to this

Coming of Age in Mississippi and Segregation Essay
Coming of Age in Mississippi is an autobiography of the famous Anne Moody. Moody grew up in
mist of a Civil Rights Movement as a poor African American woman in rural Mississippi. Her story
comprises of her trials and tribulations from life in the South during the rise of the Civil Rights
movement. Life during this time embraced segregation, which made life for African Americans rough.
As an African American woman growing up during the Civil Rights movement, Moody has a unique
story on themes like work and racial consciousness present during this time. Moody s position as an
African American woman provides a unique insight into these themes through her story. As a little
girl, Moody would sit on the porch of her house watch her parents go ... Show more content on

I liked everything about the Johnson s house... It was everything ours wasn t (Moody 41). This was
the beginning of her racial consciousness between whites and blacks. However, fully understanding
what was going on around her in the world between white and blacks would be very difficult for a
young girl. Even though this is a very basic theme of segregation, this was the first experience Moody
had to it, and it was the beginning to her charge for equality. Through work, Moody would slowly start
to realize more things about segregation and how it impacts African Americans and her life. As Moody
grew up in the South, in the middle of the Civil Rights Movement, she began to understand
segregation on a larger context. Her work experiences tell us a lot about racial segregation and
inequality. As work offered women new opportunities outside the house, it was different for African
American women. They would work in trades least affected by mechanism, like domestic services,
such as maids for white families. Moody and her mother both worked to help support the family and
worked domestic service jobs. After Linda Mae moves away, Moody had to work somewhere to help
support the family, so she worked for Mrs. Burke, even though she was very racist. Moody explains
the reason she stuck with it and worked for Mrs. Burke, I had to help secure that plate of beans
(Moody 116). Moody and African Americans a like, were working for more than just making

Comparison Of The Arthurian Legend Of Tristan And Isoud
Tristan and Isoud The Arthurian legend of Tristan and Isoud is a timeless tale of two people in
surreptitious love. Tristan being the nephew of King Mark and his obligation to the chivalric code are
the couple s greatest hurdles inhibiting their relationship from prospering. Isoud and Tristan s legend
changes from merely being means of entertainment about two forbidden lovers in Le Morte D Arthur,
by Thomas Malory, to having a deeper purpose in Cornwall s Wonderland, by Mabel Quiller Couch.
Couch s version of the tale provides perspective on not only what the couple goes through, but also
makes the story relatable to her readers during the time of World War I and women s rights being
limited.
World War I s impact on people at the time is devastating and Couch knows that her audience is
looking for an escape when reading, whereas Malory is simply telling a story for the fun of it and not
the details. Tristan becomes very distraught from his loneliness and as a result he goes to Brittany to
find Iseult la Blanche Mains, or Iseult of the White Hands in an effort to ease his pain of losing his
true love La Belle Isoud. In Cornwall s Wonderland, Tristan knows that Iseult la Blanche Mains has
feelings for him and he feels that at least one person in the love triangle deserves to be happy. Tristan
says to himself that he cannot love her as she deserves, but he will try to make her happy (Couch 228).
Once he arrives to Brittany, Tristan has to fight an earl by the name of

The Role of Men in D.H. Lawrence s Virgin and the Gypsy...
The Role of Men in D.H. Lawrence s Virgin and the Gypsy
The role of the male characters in The Virgin and the Gypsy by D.H. Lawrence can best be summed
up by Yvette s reaction to her sister s philosophy of marriage:
I m not sure one shouldn t have one s fling till one is twenty six , and then give in and marry!
This was Lucille s philosophy, learned from older women. Yvette was twenty one. It meant she had
five years to have this precious fling. And the fling meant, at the moment, the gypsy. The marriage, at
the age of twenty six, meant Leo or Gerry.
So, a woman could eat her cake and have her bread and butter (Lawrence, 99).
All of the male characters fall into one of three categories: bread and butter, cake or ... Show more

It is interesting that these are the only glimpses of the world through male eyes that we are allowed in
this book. It is also interesting that all three of these glimpses into the male mind are related in terms
of animals.
Bob expresses the feeling of being a stuffed duck while visiting with Mater. Leo expresses a dog like
interest in Yvette: Catty little bitch! he said to himself. But he was of the mastiff type, he rather liked
the kitten to fly in his face (Lawrence 64). Her father would never dare to face the fat worm of
disbelief, that stirred in his heart (Lawrence 38).
These animal metaphors keep men and women separate, almost in the same way that class keeps
Yvette separate from the servants. As long as she is a virgin, with her power being her vulnerability,
she is unable to quite see men as human. That s not unusual, though, since they seem to have trouble
identifying themselves as human.
The relationship of Yvette s grandmother, the Mater, and the Rector, her son, give Yvette a model for
feminine power. It is a negative power, a power through vulnerability. And through the weakness of
the unfresh, stagnant men she had bred, she kept her power (Lawrence 7).
Mater, through age, has transformed herself back into a virgin. She wields power in the family through
her very vulnerability. Mater s

Genotype Lab
To determine the genotype of the members in my group and the class with regards to the TAS2R38
and LCT genes, first, DNA was extracted from epithelial cells to be used for PCR to amplify the DNA
of the targeted loci. Then, restriction enzyme digestion was performed to cut the DNA into fragments
in order to perform Restriction Length Polymorphism Analysis to decipher the different lengths.
Differing lengths of the DNA accounts for different alleles on that specific gene, therefore determining
heterozygosity and homozygosity of the genotype.
LCT Gene. The LCT gene contains the enzyme lactase which digests lactose into glucose and
galactose. The possible genotypes include CC, CT, and TT, where C is the dominant allele for lactose
tolerance and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According the the results presented above, neither the LCT or the TAS2R38 loci are in Hardy
Weinberg equilibrium, therefore supporting our initial hypothesis that neither loci would be in
equilibrium. For the LCT gene, the heterozygous genotype, CT, was underrepresented based on the
expected outcome of 97 individuals compared to the actual observed 79 individuals. Similarly, the
heterozygous genotype, Tt, for the TAS2R38 gene was underrepresented based on the expected
outcome of 91 individuals compared to the actual observed 72 individuals. For the population to not
be in equilibrium, it is likely the population violates the five conditions required for the Hardy
Weinberg Principle. The five conditions include, no mutation, random mating, infinite population size,
no gene flow, and no selection. Of the five, non random mating and gene flow could affect the
genotype frequencies in the short term, for example, the length of the experiment. The population that
was tested consists of only one generation, therefore the class is just a mixture of genotypes rather
than a mating population that is producing gametes, therefore the non random mating assumption is
violated. There was no record of individuals migrating into or out of the class, therefore gene flow is
not a

ABSTRACT
Corporate social responsibility is a concept whereby companies integrate social and environmental
concerns in their business activities and in interaction with their stakeholders on a voluntary basis. In
this global context, voluntary social and environmental practices of business, going beyond companies
existing legal obligations, can play a major role in filling the governance gap in an innovative way.
The sector is characterized by controls across the entire value chain of sugar production and sale,
which not only hampers its efficiency but also exacerbates the cyclicality in sugar and sugarcane
production. The growth and development in sugar sector in the country in general and in the state of
Uttar Pradesh in particular has multiple linkages with social, economic and environmental issues. The
purpose of this study is to conduct a triple bottom line assessment of sugarcane value chain and
suggest alternatives that could improve the current sustainable practices of CSR across various
stakeholders.
KEYWORDS: Corporate Social Responsibility, cyclicality,

  • 2. Communication And Conflict Resolution For Criminal Justice Brandman University Communication and Conflict Resolution for Criminal Justice CJCU 432 RESEARCH EXERCISE 2 CULTURE Professor Peter Jaske November 29, 2015 Phuong Le Culture I think culture, simply is what remains after the various historical cycles. Through each of the development cycle, people interact with others and developing a new culture. Culture is an objective phenomenon, an integration of all aspects of life. Even the smallest aspects of life have a culture. It was suggested that the ongoing world phenomenon of cultural invasion is the result of aggression by firearm and economic. I disagree with that theory because to me, culture is peace, culture is not aggression. The integration of cultural aspects is the process of people finding a common language for a common life. The concept of cultural invasion is the notion of the community who have experienced only formed in relations, development and the experience of war, especially the Cold War. In the Western culture homes of Americans, British, French we will see souvenirs from the orient. Sometimes in Western societies people tend to see the existence of a few souvenirs and ornaments from the East as a sign of elite or civilized. That is intertwined of life, it is the peaceful coexistence of the past, and there is also the cultural basis of peaceful coexistence in the future. Typically, civilization is used to indicate the level of development of physical and human spirit to a certain ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Communication Is A Complex Aspect Of Human Life Communication is a complex aspect of human life that upon closer investigation gives one a deeper understanding of what messages individuals are truly attempting to convey. There are four different channels through which signals and cues send messages from sender to receiver and vice versa. Those channels are the following; auditory, visual, tactile, and scent channels. Three of the four channels are non linguistic channels that demonstrate that a large portion of communication occurs through non linguistic means. Individuals are consistently using these four channels in everyday interactions with one another. Humans minds and bodies have been shaped by natural selection to send a variety of verbal and non verbal signals. A signal is intentional and has been evolved to produce a certain reaction. Signals are honest because they are linked to one s genes. Due to the wide reach signals have in one s everyday life a broad analysis of signals would be ineffective for this analysis. Therefore, this analysis will focus on the role signals play in courtship. One will explore a total of five different sources of empirical evidence in order to gain a deeper understanding of why individuals may have evolved to produce and react to courtship signals. One will attempt to demonstrate that individuals have evolved to produce and react to courtship signals in order to be able to determine a potential mates interest. Though courtship signals may not guarantee that one will achieve a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Humanistic Approach To Psychotherapy During my earlier years as undergraduate, I recall being very interested in the humanistic approach to psychotherapy, simply because it was congenial to the person I was at that time. I was deeply interested in the concepts of free will, self concept, self actualization, and most importantly, conditions of worth. In addition, when I considered the type of therapist I would have been the most willing to do therapeutic work with, I tended to think of a therapist with a humanistic orientation. However, I was quite naïve and discredited the other theoretical orientations. • 7. Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency Is A State Agency Of... The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency is a state agency of the state of Tennessee. Their goal is to manage the states fish and wildlife population and also to enforce the wildlife related laws of the state. They help to protect and preserve the right to hunt not only for the present time, but also for the future. In just this past year, the agency has established some new regulations that have caused an uproar in the hunting community. The two rules which have been headlined in most conversations is the new two buck limit for the states hunting season, and the new antler restrictions on what is considered a buck. Due to the success of many other states with fewer buck limits, TWRA has established these rules. These new rules are designed to have long term affects on not only hunters, but also possibly the whole state for years to come. While there may be a lot of good that may come from these new changes, there also may be a negative impact hidden between the lines. These rules have been designed to increase the amount of trophy deer in the state, increase the amount of doe kills in the state, and also to truly make hunters picky about what they shoot. The ultimate dream of nearly all outdoorsmen in the United States of America today is to kill a mature old whitetail buck, and these chances have been very few and far between in the state of Tennessee in the past. In order for a male whitetail deer to grow into, what some might call, a trophy buck, it will take a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Employees who suffer from a burnout are emotionally exhausted and have low work motivation (i.e. possessing little energy and enthusiasm for the job). Burnouts are the results of working intensely with other people. A study in 2000 done by Bakker, Schaufeli, Sixma, Bosveld and Van Dierendonck found that patient demands are associated with burnout in physicians and led to emotional exhaustion (e.g. absence and fatigue), depersonalization (e.g. hostility towards others or callous and uncaring treatment of clients and other people) and reduced personal accomplishment (e.g. low motivation and poor performance). However, presence of this factor would not necessarily lead to satisfaction because these are the basic, foundational needs for employees. William Shakespeare s Measure For Measure Name Tutor Course Date Power and Greed In any given society power and greed are often noted as societal factors that tend to exist together such that one of them influences the other. In William Shakespeare s play, Measure for Measure the two concepts have been clearly depicted through Lord Angelo and the Duke s action of using their power to win the love of Claudio s sister, Isabella. Based on the theme of this play, one can argue that leaders sometimes use their power to influence the lives of others or control a particular agenda. He was basically a puppet for Germany so that they didn t have to worry about France overthrowing them. He and his supporters accepted the Armistice terms proposed by Germany. There, on 10 July 1940, with just 81 dissidents, they voted liberated forces to Pétain, who framed another, hostile to law based, against Semitic and misanthropic administration, the French State , its authorities and pastors introduced in the inns of Vichy. It was the fall of the Third Republic and the begin of France s dull trip down what Pétain called the way of coordinated effort with Hitler (The Fall of France, 1940). This was at smart move for Germany because if they pick someone who agrees with Germany, then the France would never returned to it usual strength, and would be blinded on how sick Germany is because of the president s doing. Death and Time in Slaughterhouse-Five Death and Time in Slaughterhouse Five We all wish we could travel through time, going back to correct our stupid mistakes or zooming ahead to see the future. In Kurt Vonnegut s novel Slaughterhouse Five, however, time travel does not seem so helpful. Billy Pilgrim, Vonnegut s main character, has come unstuck in time. He bounces back and forth between his past, present, and future lives in a roller coaster time trip that proves both senseless and numbing. Examining Billy s time traveling, his life on Tralfamadore, and the novel s schizophrenic structure shows that time travel is actually a metaphor for our human tendency to avoid facing the unpleasant reality of death. Isn t this a nice moment? Yes. [Billy answered] That s the one thing Earthlings might learn to do, if they tried hard enough: Ignore the awful times, and concentrate on the good ones. (117) But ignoring death and its suffering is exactly what Billy should not be doing, Vonnegut suggests. To do so makes him, like the Tralfamadorians, alien and inhuman. He has no sense of his own mortality, an awareness he needs in order to understand that, as Stephen Marten has observed, life is valuable not because it is infinite but because it is so scarce (11). Curiously, Vonnegut uses the Tralfamadorian idea that books, like life, should have no beginning, no middle, no end, no suspense, no moral, no causes, no effects (88). According to Freud, civilization describes the whole sum of the achievements and the regulations which distinguish our lives from those of our animal ancestors. Hobsbawm emphasizes that proto nationalism was the mobilizing (of) certain variants of feelings of collective belonging which already existed and which could operate, as it were, potentially on the macro political scale which could fit in with modern states and nations. (Hobsbawm, 90) This foundational development is essentially one of patriotism, in which the individual evokes a feeling of loyalty and pride in their nation through symbols, language and ethnicity. While these feelings of pro nationalism may occur, if an individual is, for instance, to have thoughts of desire to burn the national flag or act in an anti nationalist way, then they will have feelings of guilt. Freud explains that the origins of the sense of guilt (are): one arising from fear of an authority, and the other, later on, arising from fear of the super ego. The history of capital punishment fluctuates worldwide, between different governments and beliefs. The current issue of capital punishment is taking lives without having a reliable reason to take them to the death penalty. One large and main issue is that capital punishment breaches, or breaks two essential human rights, which are the rights to life, and rights to living free of torture. This is a huge issue because an individual should not be able to surpass any conditions when the operations of the executions go against human rights. Another opposition of capital punishment is that many countries are sided with the penalties, however, the citizens of the country may think differently dependant on their religions and beliefs. The opposition between the government and the population in the country is another large issue because the diverse opinion only makes matters worse. Though many countries remain to argue that the punishments are beneficial, terminating the legal penalty would save thousands of lives. Discontinuing the penalties would benefit the whole world by cutting the large amount of taxes just for individual deaths, and the new adjustment would save lives from false reasons, and misunderstandings. Pericytes influence blood brain barrier (BBB) integrity and cerebral blood flow. Under hypoxic conditions, perictyes detach from perivascular locations, increasing vessel permeability and neuronal injury. This study characterizes the time course of BBB dysfunction and pericyte coverage following murine experimental CCH secondary to bilateral carotid artery stenosis (BCAS). Mice underwent BCAS or sham operation. On post procedure days 1, 3, 7 and 30, corpus callosum BBB permeability was characterized using Evans blue (EB) extravasation and IgG staining and pericyte coverage was calculated. The BCAS cohort demonstrated increased EB extravasation on postoperative days 1 (p=.03) and 3 (p=.01) when compared to sham mice. Further, EB extravasation was significantly greater (p=.03) at day 3 than at day 30 in BCAS mice. Positive IgG staining was seen at post procedure day 3 in the BCAS group. BCAS mice demonstrated a nadir in pericyte coverage on post operative day 3 (p50%) was reported to be 7% in women and 9% in men3. As Toronto was frequently referred to as the country s finance and business capital, these business professionals often worked long hours and considered Friday nights as an opening to get out and socialize. Generally this age group will have more money than the price sensitive students and will most likely be able to afford the $2 price increase of which Martin was considering. • 43. Coming of Age in Mississippi and Segregation Essay Coming of Age in Mississippi is an autobiography of the famous Anne Moody. Moody grew up in mist of a Civil Rights Movement as a poor African American woman in rural Mississippi. Her story comprises of her trials and tribulations from life in the South during the rise of the Civil Rights movement. Life during this time embraced segregation, which made life for African Americans rough. As an African American woman growing up during the Civil Rights movement, Moody has a unique story on themes like work and racial consciousness present during this time. Moody s position as an African American woman provides a unique insight into these themes through her story. As a little girl, Moody would sit on the porch of her house watch her parents go ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I liked everything about the Johnson s house... It was everything ours wasn t (Moody 41). This was the beginning of her racial consciousness between whites and blacks. However, fully understanding what was going on around her in the world between white and blacks would be very difficult for a young girl. Even though this is a very basic theme of segregation, this was the first experience Moody had to it, and it was the beginning to her charge for equality. Through work, Moody would slowly start to realize more things about segregation and how it impacts African Americans and her life. As Moody grew up in the South, in the middle of the Civil Rights Movement, she began to understand segregation on a larger context. Her work experiences tell us a lot about racial segregation and inequality. As work offered women new opportunities outside the house, it was different for African American women. They would work in trades least affected by mechanism, like domestic services, such as maids for white families. Moody and her mother both worked to help support the family and worked domestic service jobs. After Linda Mae moves away, Moody had to work somewhere to help support the family, so she worked for Mrs. Burke, even though she was very racist. Moody explains the reason she stuck with it and worked for Mrs. Burke, I had to help secure that plate of beans (Moody 116). Moody and African Americans a like, were working for more than just making ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 44. Comparison Of The Arthurian Legend Of Tristan And Isoud Tristan and Isoud The Arthurian legend of Tristan and Isoud is a timeless tale of two people in surreptitious love. Tristan being the nephew of King Mark and his obligation to the chivalric code are the couple s greatest hurdles inhibiting their relationship from prospering. Isoud and Tristan s legend changes from merely being means of entertainment about two forbidden lovers in Le Morte D Arthur, by Thomas Malory, to having a deeper purpose in Cornwall s Wonderland, by Mabel Quiller Couch. Couch s version of the tale provides perspective on not only what the couple goes through, but also makes the story relatable to her readers during the time of World War I and women s rights being limited. World War I s impact on people at the time is devastating and Couch knows that her audience is looking for an escape when reading, whereas Malory is simply telling a story for the fun of it and not the details. Tristan becomes very distraught from his loneliness and as a result he goes to Brittany to find Iseult la Blanche Mains, or Iseult of the White Hands in an effort to ease his pain of losing his true love La Belle Isoud. In Cornwall s Wonderland, Tristan knows that Iseult la Blanche Mains has feelings for him and he feels that at least one person in the love triangle deserves to be happy. Tristan says to himself that he cannot love her as she deserves, but he will try to make her happy (Couch 228). Once he arrives to Brittany, Tristan has to fight an earl by the name of ... • 45. The Role of Men in D.H. Lawrence s Virgin and the Gypsy... The Role of Men in D.H. Lawrence s Virgin and the Gypsy The role of the male characters in The Virgin and the Gypsy by D.H. Lawrence can best be summed up by Yvette s reaction to her sister s philosophy of marriage: I m not sure one shouldn t have one s fling till one is twenty six , and then give in and marry! This was Lucille s philosophy, learned from older women. Yvette was twenty one. It meant she had five years to have this precious fling. And the fling meant, at the moment, the gypsy. The marriage, at the age of twenty six, meant Leo or Gerry. So, a woman could eat her cake and have her bread and butter (Lawrence, 99). All of the male characters fall into one of three categories: bread and butter, cake or ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is interesting that these are the only glimpses of the world through male eyes that we are allowed in this book. It is also interesting that all three of these glimpses into the male mind are related in terms of animals. Bob expresses the feeling of being a stuffed duck while visiting with Mater. Leo expresses a dog like interest in Yvette: Catty little bitch! he said to himself. But he was of the mastiff type, he rather liked the kitten to fly in his face (Lawrence 64). Her father would never dare to face the fat worm of disbelief, that stirred in his heart (Lawrence 38). These animal metaphors keep men and women separate, almost in the same way that class keeps Yvette separate from the servants. As long as she is a virgin, with her power being her vulnerability, she is unable to quite see men as human. That s not unusual, though, since they seem to have trouble identifying themselves as human. The relationship of Yvette s grandmother, the Mater, and the Rector, her son, give Yvette a model for feminine power. It is a negative power, a power through vulnerability. And through the weakness of the unfresh, stagnant men she had bred, she kept her power (Lawrence 7). Mater, through age, has transformed herself back into a virgin. She wields power in the family through her very vulnerability. Mater s ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 46. Genotype Lab To determine the genotype of the members in my group and the class with regards to the TAS2R38 and LCT genes, first, DNA was extracted from epithelial cells to be used for PCR to amplify the DNA of the targeted loci. Then, restriction enzyme digestion was performed to cut the DNA into fragments in order to perform Restriction Length Polymorphism Analysis to decipher the different lengths. Differing lengths of the DNA accounts for different alleles on that specific gene, therefore determining heterozygosity and homozygosity of the genotype. LCT Gene. The LCT gene contains the enzyme lactase which digests lactose into glucose and galactose. The possible genotypes include CC, CT, and TT, where C is the dominant allele for lactose tolerance and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... According the the results presented above, neither the LCT or the TAS2R38 loci are in Hardy Weinberg equilibrium, therefore supporting our initial hypothesis that neither loci would be in equilibrium. For the LCT gene, the heterozygous genotype, CT, was underrepresented based on the expected outcome of 97 individuals compared to the actual observed 79 individuals. Similarly, the heterozygous genotype, Tt, for the TAS2R38 gene was underrepresented based on the expected outcome of 91 individuals compared to the actual observed 72 individuals. For the population to not be in equilibrium, it is likely the population violates the five conditions required for the Hardy Weinberg Principle. The five conditions include, no mutation, random mating, infinite population size, no gene flow, and no selection. Of the five, non random mating and gene flow could affect the genotype frequencies in the short term, for example, the length of the experiment. The population that was tested consists of only one generation, therefore the class is just a mixture of genotypes rather than a mating population that is producing gametes, therefore the non random mating assumption is violated. There was no record of individuals migrating into or out of the class, therefore gene flow is not a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In this global context, voluntary social and environmental practices of business, going beyond companies existing legal obligations, can play a major role in filling the governance gap in an innovative way. The sector is characterized by controls across the entire value chain of sugar production and sale, which not only hampers its efficiency but also exacerbates the cyclicality in sugar and sugarcane production. The growth and development in sugar sector in the country in general and in the state of Uttar Pradesh in particular has multiple linkages with social, economic and environmental issues. The purpose of this study is to conduct a triple bottom line assessment of sugarcane value chain and suggest alternatives that could improve the current sustainable practices of CSR across various stakeholders.
