drawn into another reality. She creates a world where both science and fantasy are to be found.
Wintour is also both an introvert and an extrovert, which is another characteristic of a creative person.
She displays both of these traits when in the thick of her work at Vogue, she is extremely outspoken
and has many views. Always in the centre of controversy and consistently standing up for her beliefs,
such as her defence against PETA (where she is one the most targeted people by PETA sue to her use
of fur in Vogue), whereas at parties, she never stays more then ten minutes and prefers to be out of the
limelight when it does not concern her work.

Daughter to Charles Wintour, the editor of the London Evening Standard newspaper, and born into
quite a privileged back ground, it was always expected that she do great things.
However she was always quite rebellious and had a tendency to do things her way. She dropped out of
her London Finishing school and opted for a life typical of the 60 s, a life revolving around clubs.
One of her main sources of inspiration was her father, Charles Wintour. She inherited her management
style as a tough, stern editor from the man who was nicknamed Chilly Charlie . He was a decorated
World War II veteran, and his stern, almost military way of running the Evening Standard were what
she took on to manage at Vogue. People respond well to people who are sure of what they want, (60
minutes, 2009.)
She has had to face a number of obstacles however: In 2008 the economy had worsened and she faced
claims that her cover of Gisele Bundchen and LeBron James, had racist connotations. Her other spin
off magazine Vogue Living was suspended indefinitely and an accidental front cover remark between
a feuding pair of celebrities, added to the belief that Wintour had lost her touch.
To counteract these obstacles, she did a number of things, including going out more into the public
media eye, (she appeared on the Late Show with David Lettermen to defend the relevance of fashion
in a tough economy). As well as this, a short film, The September Issue was created, in order to give a

Food Stamp Program Benefits
The food stamp program was instituted to ensure that people are no longer are going hungry in
America. Since The Food Stamp Act came into effect in the year 1964. Obesity seems to be more
prevalent in participants of this food program. Obesity does not discriminate, although it does appear
to affect lower income women that participate in the Food Stamp Program. As written by Gibson
(2008) Participation in the Food Stamp Program by low income women was associated with a 9.0%
increase in the probability of current obesity (as cited by Zhu,Yen,Eastwood, 2005). More people are
inclined to be more obese now than ever before; there are 30% or 6 million of adults that are
categorized as obese in the United States (Collins, 2007). The rate is for ... Show more content on

The opportunities range from taxation of sugar based drinks to educating people only healthy foods. A
few of the options are the following examples. At present, benefits are distributed once a month. One
of the programs that are being discussed are the possibility of dividing up the SNAP benefit payment
to twice a month, As quoted by Bhargava (2004) and Shapiro (2005) To break the food stamp cycle
some researcher propose distributing SNAP benefits more often than the monthly schedule (as quoted
by Richards, Sindelar, 2013). One hope for the indicated would be too encouraging increased fruits
and vegetables to be purchased to produce a healthier eating pattern during the entire month. Hence,
the curbing of high calorie foods are thought to generate obesity. The option also comes with
problems. Some participants have no genuine incentive to improve their eating practices, and in store
purchases and personal influence remain (Richards, Sindelar, 2013). Some participants feel they need
to be rewarded for buying healthy, fresh foods with their snap benefits. An option that would provide
an incentive for every purchase of fresh fruits and vegetables a reimbursement of SNAP cash will be
added to the benefit card. The benefit will be added on toward the end of the month. Giving people the
opportunity to buy additional groceries. Even with this option when the added benefits are placed on
the SNAP the recipients can then proceed to purchase the sugar based drinks of their choice. This
program would not eliminate the purchasing of sugar based

The Physics Of Fractions As A Child
Introduction:
Ever since I first learned about fractions as a child, I was always heavily agitated by the fact that every
time I would ask my teacher about dividing by zero, or have a calculator perform a equation where a
non zero number was divided by zero, I would just be told there was no solution. I wondered for years
about why there simply was no practical way to express a number divided by zero, until I learned
about something strangely similar to dividing a number by zero, being black holes, or a gravitational
singularity (a single point in space with a certain mass, equating to a density where the mass of the
object is divided by zero). Just like dividing by zero, black holes are usually represented as an
undefined point in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A counterargument could be immediately made that black holes do have a volume, but for
clarification, this is in terms of its singularity, not its event horizon (or the critical radius), which is the
black part of the hole that light does not escape from, as it is the point in which light can no longer
escape, as the escape velocity (the speed required to break free of an object s gravity, according to
physlink.com) is greater than the speed of light.
Now that this is established, representing the infinite density of a black hole is difficult to understand,
similarly in terms of the function 1/x, because like how the x value on the graph approaches the
asymptote of zero on the x axis from positive infinity, the y value gradually leaves the asymptote of
zero on the y axis to approach infinity, being not the largest possible number, but instead a filled space
that has no bounds, such as a star that is shining light into all directions in space forever, therefore
filing this ongoing void with light. That is infinity, so in terms of this essay, the light could be
represented as 1/∞. If the light were to be replaced with mass, the volume of said mass would
effectively be the opposite of a black hole, being an infinite number of some sort, with the density
being calculated by dividing it s mass by infinity of some sort, representing it s volume.
In simple fractions, they could likely be expressed as a circle or some other shape split into

The Ban on Same Sex Marriage
Have you ever seen something in society that just angers you and you wish it would change? Well I
have, and it is the ban on same sex marriage. Homosexuals should be able to get married. I believe
this because the main opposition of this are hypocrites, there are actions that are worse than same sex
marriage that are legal, and there is nothing wrong with it. The main opposition of this are hypocrites.
The religious leaders and figureheads that try to use the Bible as support for their campaign against
same sex marriage are hypocrites. The book of Leviticus states that no man shall lie with another man.
The same book also states that eating any sea creature without fins or scales is unholy, so why isn t
there a campaign for banning the consumption of shrimp, seaweed, clams, etc.? The book of Mark
states to treat others as you would yourself. So why are we as a nation segregating the homosexual
community, even though we would hate to be ridiculed in any way, shape, and form? Same sex
marriage imposes itself on society. Even if this is true, religion does this more. Jehovah Witnesses go
door to door trying to convert people, as do many Christian and Catholic organizations. There are
worse things than same sex marriage that are legal. It is legal to smoke cigarettes and drink alcohol.
Cigarettes destroy the cells, preventing them from getting oxygen, leading to shortness of breath.
Alcohol destroys brain cells, and slows motor function. The drugs above both are addictive and

Gardasil Research Paper
Summary
The research questions are why is Gardasil such a controversial topic and why can t the debate on if
Gardasil is safe, on what age it should be given, and how successful it would be when administered be
settled? The research was conducted to answer these questions because Merck, the maker of Gardasil,
presented this vaccine as the first vaccine to prevent HPV and cervical cancer in girls but there was no
real solid proof that the vaccine was successful since Merck and the FDA (Food and Drug
Administration) approved the vaccine a year before the results/data on the vaccine s safety and
efficacy became available. Likewise, researchers were trying to learn if Merck s claims of one less life
being affected by cervical cancer with their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I feel like the article should have talked about both sides of the debate because, despite people s
personal beliefs/feelings on Gardasil, the vaccine does work, just not on everything that the company
is advertising that it does. It does not prevent cervical cancer mainly because with the way the lesions
of cervical cancer are (CIN 1 3) the lesions hardly ever develop into the other two lesions known as
CIN 2 and CIN 3. This article was completely against the vaccine but it provided plenty of proof and
detail to back up why Gardasil should not be required, especially because research has proven that a
pap smear can do more for women when it comes to cervical cancer than Gardasil can. I like the
article overall, and it helped me understand a little more of what Gardasil can or cannot do. However,
I feel like the article could ve been dumbed down some just because I never even heard of CIN lesions
before and so I felt like they should ve explained a little easier and in simpler terms of what these cells
are, otherwise those without any medical background/schooling would not follow too well with the

New Orleans By Jean Baptiste Le Moyne, Sieur De Bienville...
New Orleans was founded in 1718 by Jean Baptiste Le Moyne, Sieur de Bienville. Forty five years
later, in 1763, France signed treaties ceding Louisiana to Spain to whom it remained for the next forty
years. Due to Mexican, Cuban and Spanish influence, the race rules in New Orleans were more
liberal, allowing for a class of free people of color. In 1803 Louisiana was sold back to the French,
who then twenty days later sold it to the United States in the Louisiana Purchase. New Orleans had
become the largest city in the Confederacy by the start of the Civil War in 1861.
New Orleans culture is a melting pot of Spanish, French, Mexican, Native American, and African
descent. Creole is a term that refers to mixed race natives of Louisiana. Many creoles were free and
their ancestors often had the same rights as white people. They often received formal education and
owned property and slaves. Creole culture was catholic and French speaking as opposed to the
Protestant and English speaking whole of America. This amalgamation of cultures created a safe
haven for personal expression, and caused the development and evolution of the culture and Jazz
music.
In 1724, Code Nior was implemented which gave slaves Sundays and holidays off. On their days off,
slaves gathered any place they could find such as levees, backyards, and remote areas. In 1817, the
mayor of New Orleans issued an ordinance which restricted slaves congregation to an area called
Congo Square. On Sunday afternoons, men

What Is The Theme Of The Poem Good Night
The first stanza starts with the asking his father not to be soft on death meaning that he asks him not to
accept death quietly but to fight against it with full force, passion and bravery. Good night in the first
line refers to a good death, as it is clear that night represents death and the poet is motivating his father
resists death in a calm way. The use of the word rage shows the poet requesting his father to resist
death. The second stanza defines the attitude of wise men that realize that death is near. They can be
known as the men who will not accept death passively. They know that there is still a long journey and
a long way to go. Wise men in this case have unspoken words and goals to be achieved. Thus they
hold on to life till ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Burn and rave are usually associated with the passion of youth and thus the poet wants his father to
sing passionately. The close of day symbolizes the approaching death meaning that his father will
eventually die soon. In this case, the use of sad height may as well symbolize the closeness to death.
Gentle is used as an adjective that signifies the poet s father s personality. The poem: Do not go gentle
into that good night is structured in a villanelle. Thus the form of the villanelle reveals that it has a
refrain and self improvised lyrics in each stanza. Poetical devices are also used in this poem such as
alliteration that include the following: Do not go gentle into that goodnight Rage, rage against the
dying of the light. Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay is an example of a simile used in the
poem. Curse, bless me now with your fierce tears, I pray is an example of an oxymoron where the
poet is asking his father to bless as well as curse him. Dylan Thomas had also shown the use of
parallelism describing the actions of three different men: wise men good men wild men . The speaker
requests that his father has the qualities of these kinds of men. The poet had also used contrasts in the
poem to emphasize and focus on the theme, which include the following: Gentle and rage night and
day light and dark blind and sight grave and grey curse and

Workplace Violence Level
There are several levels of workplace violence. Level one is being disrespectful to other co workers,
not cooperating, verbally abusing others, or simply intimidating and manipulating them. For level of
workplace violence, an employees should report this, and seek help responding to the situation. If the
person is the supervisor, you report it to upper management and appropriate response action should
take place. As upper management you should meet privately with the accused individual, and ask the
employee for their side of the story. Reiterate what is acceptable behavior within the company, and
correct the issues they may have. (U.S. Department of Labor, 2016). The second level will be
escalation. The employee may begin to argue with customers,

Prominent Women Of Islam. Women Have A Great Influence
Prominent Women of Islam Women have a great influence on the religion of Islam and how it is seen

Increasing Price Discrimination In The Workplace
Individuals encounter price discriminations on an almost daily basis, whether realizing it or not.
Considering that many fast food chains off discounts to seniors, one could possibly pay the regular
price and not even think of the possibility of a discount. Price discrimination can be described as
identical services or goods being sold at different prices by one single provider (Sexton, 2013).
Therefore, each time a person shops at Goodwill, he or she has the opportunity of a reduced cost
providing stipulations are met such as being a student, senior, or military. In order to meet the
qualification of price discrimination, three points are provided. First, the organization must provide a
good or service that is not offered by other organizations, establishing a monopoly. Secondly, the
elasticities of demand have to be prevalent, and, and thirdly, stipulations have to be enforced in order
to prevent reselling of the product or service for a profit.
Considering the price differences encountered by parking garages, price discrimination can be
established by examining the price differences between long term parking and short term parking.
Parking garages often provide a menu of price differences for different frames of time, such as two
hours, four hours, eight hours, or even overnight (Lin Wang, 2015). ... Show more content on

in the parking garage could not be purchased in advance at the lower price in order to utilize the space
at a later date when prices were increased. Therefore, the current price being charged is what one

King begins this article with the attention grabbing statement, I think that we re all mentally ill: those
of us outside the asylums only hide it a little better and maybe not all that much better, after all. (King,
2013, p 641) Even if his readers immediately disagree, he has accomplished capturing their attention.
Next he describes a few crazy behaviors that are common to most people: talking to oneself; making
faces when no one is looking; and giving in to irrational fears of snakes, the dark, tight places, and
things lurking where we cannot see them. Most people can relate to these behaviors and can reason
this is true. He then moves on to explain how we face these fears and give our emotions a break by
watching a horror movie. He likens this to a roller coaster that is a mixture of fun and delicious terror
as it takes its participants by surprise with a 360 degree loop or, plows through a lake at the bottom of
the drop. (King, 2013, p 641) The next example pulls on the emotion inside his readers to measure up
to the perfect standard of beauty. He says horror films tend to make people feel more normal because
the comparison is so grotesque that the readers know, we are still light years away from true ugliness.

The Drug Crime Link Between Crime And Crime
There is a popular widespread belief in the media, politics and society that illegal drugs and addiction
to illegal drugs, in general, is the cause of a significant proportion of crime (Seddon, 2000). This idea
has exerted an increasingly strong hold on drug policies around the world (Bean, 2008), including
New Zealand. The drug crime link refers to the argument that crime is one of, if not the major,
consequent problems of drug use (Bean, 2008), essentially, crime is a problem that arises from drug
use and drug use can arise from crime also. Drugs and crime are consistently related to each other in a
number of studies, however, despite popular belief, the connection between the two are far too
complicated to summarise as a straightforward ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The drug crime link is incredibly complex and can not be simply summarised as a straightforward
relationship between the two. The prevalence of drug use and the prevalence of crime is hard to
measure and there is also a possibility that other factors influence both drug use and crime
(Hammersley, 2008).
Drug use is a largely illegal activity consequently making it extremely difficult to measure (Bean,
2008). There are a lot of problems measuring the prevalence of drug use in society as it mainly hidden
away to avoid prosecution. Coomber et al. (2013), indicates that in the last 50 100 years drug use
around the world has had an enormous growth and around five percent of the world s 15 64 year old
population had used an illicit drug at least once in the past twelve months, and additionally this seems
to be more or less the case for the recent past history. This essentially indicates that quite a number of
the population have used an illegal drug recently. If this is the case, wouldn t crime be a bigger
problem in the world? Both crime and drug use are hidden to a certain extent, known as the dark
figure where certain crimes are committed but there are no offences that have been officially recorded
(Higgins and Marcum, 2016). Even with prevalence studies and research, no one knows the exact
figure of how many people are involved, or how

The Chaos and Division of Asia s History Essay
The assigned readings about Asian history lead a unified conclusion that the past (history) of Asia was
characterized with chaos and internal divisions. China, once again entered an era of divisiveness and
chaos. Competing warlords dominated China for the next 350 years (The Golden Age of China: 79).
China is a perfect symbol of Asia s history because if studied from the past, the history of China
demonstrates how divisions took place in the country s political and economic spheres. China s history
reveals how the religion led to emergence of chaos in the country. This shows that religion, in the
history of Asia, was more divisive than uniting when individual countries considered their religions as
different. Religious harmonization of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Initially, Chinese had coexisted well under one rule. However, three powerful dynasties emerged after
the Han dynasty, forming three kingdoms of Wei, Shu, and Wu. An element of democracy started
getting into China s politics, though at the time of the three dynasties, the kings had amassed power
through their naval strength. The fact that power was divided from one kingdom to three, however,
shows decentralization of influence, which is an element of democracy. The formation of the three
dynasties in China did not offer any practical solution to the chaotic situation in the country. This
disapproves the imagination that democracy was growing in the country. If it was indeed democracy,
then its growth had not ended. This is because after the formation of the three dynasties, political
division in China widened even further. No powerful dynasty in the continent s history appeared to be
answering the question of China s unity. It appeared like political plurality had entered in China to
stay. For example, the failure of the Jin Dynasty to solve the puzzle of China s political unity shows
how divisive China was becoming. Polarization of leadership was more serious in Northern China.
This judgment arises from the fact that the Jin dynasty did not solve the puzzle of multiple kingdoms
in the north of China. Sixteen kingdoms emerged in the north as the Jin dynasty attempted to unite
China.

Colonialism And Poverty
The foremost cause of global poverty is colonialism. After Christopher Columbus discovered the new
world in 1492, Europeans invaded the Americas, Africa, and East Asia. Today, these places are some
of the most affected by poverty. The poverty persists because the peoples of these places were killed
and enslaved. Their land, natural resources, and way of life were stolen by the colonizers. The
colonizers forced the colonies to shift from subsistence farming to cash crops, obliterating the natural
economy. Since they only grew cash crops, they were forced to buy European goods. The economy of
the colonies became locked and they became completely dependent on the colonizing country. Soon,
the colonies found themselves in debt to their colonizers. What little money these colonies were able
to make went to repay the debt, instead of going toward the development of the colony. Additionally,
since they were indebted to them, their colonizers had control over their economy. The creditors took
full advantage of this and forced the colonies to adopt neoliberalism and privatize companies and
resources, which plunged even more people into absolute poverty. Even when many of these colonies
became their own independent countries, the documentary mentioned that the debt was transferred
over to the new country, even though this was a violation of international law. This same system
continues to this day and everyday more and more people find themselves in poverty.

Free And Accessible Birth Control
Free and Accessible Birth Control in the United States
A total of 730,322 abortions were reported from the Centers for Disease Control in 2011. This could
easily be resolved with proper usage of birth control. But the fact of the matter is that only 62% of
women are actually using proper birth control, now this may seem like a lot of women, but there is
158.6 million women in the United States alone so 58.5 million are currently not on any birth control
which is a huge amount of women. Birth control needs to be free and accessible, because the benefits
of having women on birth control easily outweigh any of the cons that may come. My goal for this
paper is to talk about the pros of having free and accessible birth control, which would be lower
abortion rate, lower teenage pregnancy rate, and the many health benefits. I will also touch on the
opposing side of this argument, which will be that, it will be too expensive, that abstinence is key, and
that if birth control became free and accessible women would no longer go the doctor. The Affordable
Care Act was signed into law to reform the health care industry by President Barack Obama in 2010,
and then was upheld by the Supreme Court in 2012. This act touched on birth control, which would
make it more affordable and easily accessible. But there is a catch; women can only get this more
affordable birth control is they are under a private insurance company. A private insurance company is

Differences Between Confucianism And Confucianism
All of these different systems and philosophies highly emphasize: the harmony between people, the
benevolence that one must have, filial piety, loyalty, righteousness, and courtesy for a successful and
healthy society. Even though they all have a different idea, their goal is the same. The morality and
ethics of human behaviors were also part of the teachings that shaped the culture of today. Even
though the goals of these philosophies were similar, like their beliefs about man and society; their
ideas were a little bit different and each had their own focus. The difference in focus between
Confucianism and Taoism is that Confucianism was focused on having a structured society. It held as
a principle the brotherhood of humanity. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Tao is the unknown, powerful force to which the whole world and universe flows. It is the
ultimate reality and that everything is one despite the differences in appearances. They believed that
life is good, there was an emphasis on the body, and the goal was to gain balance in life. They had a
good view on women. They were generally equal to men and highly spoken of in the teachings.
Taoism believes in the concept of the Yin and the Yang. This concept is that two halves, two opposites,
make a whole. It is a balance, equilibrium of wholeness. The Yin is the dark side, while the Yang is the
light side. We can see this balance every day in life. Like the day and the night, a man and a woman.
There cannot be one without the other. Absence of light creates darkness; absence of heat makes it
cold. When there are beautiful things, the ugly ones come out. And when there is good, there is also
bad. One thing defines and complements the other. They coexist by opposing each other. Yet, nothing
is completely Yang and nothing is completely Yin. One is the starting point of the other. They are
interdependent to be complete. When one increases, the other one decreases. This is how they
maintain the overall balance.
Mohism, on the other hand, was rival to Confucianism and Daoism. He was too liberal to agree to all
the social rules that Confucius had created. He did not agree either with the importance of tradition or
rituals of Confucianism.

Hunger, Malnutrition, And Famine
According to recent statistics from the United Nations World Food Program, 795 million people
across the globe, suffer from the effects of being undernourished ( Food Program, 2015, para. 1). Both
hunger and malnutrition serve to be the number one risk to health and well being, more so than Aids,
Tuberculosis, and Malaria combined ( Food Program, 2015, para. 1). Although the planet produces
enough food to feed everyone (Wright Boorse, 2014), hunger, malnutrition, and famine continue to
adversely affect people in both developed and developing nations. Children are particularly
susceptible to the ill effects of hunger and malnutrition as stunting or growth failure, aside for disease,
is the leading cause of abnormal growth development in children ( Stunting, n.d.).
In July of 2015, while serving as a health care provider, at a two day medical clinic in the
impoverished town of Suscal, Ecuador, a fairly young woman sought my treatment for her 12 year old
son who was suffering the consequences of chronic diarrhea from a parasitic infection contracted by
drinking contaminated water. Besides chronic diarrhea, the child also suffered the after effects of the
Hepatitis B virus, which was contracted by eating contaminated food. Most stunning was the child s
clinical presentation of being underdeveloped and underweight for a normal 12 year old. Even more
alarming was the fact that the child was missing both maxillary incisors. Through an interpreter, the

T Challa and Ororo Monroe (Storm) have had various aspects of their histories retconned over the

The Pros And Cons Of The Olympics
About 206 countries in the world participate in the Olympics. Can you imagine the Olympic games in
the same 5 countries every year? Have you ever thought about what the Olympics would be like if
they were always in the same place? Imagine not being able to guess where the next Olympics are
going to be held and traveling the world to get there. This is what will happen if the IOC stopped the
Olympics from traveling from country to country. The only solution to stop this; keep the Olympics
moving around country to country. The Olympics should not have a permanent home and should
continue to move around the world. Having them in a permanent home takes away more than you
think to people. To start, having the Olympics in a permanent home would deprive nations of a chance
to show national pride, economic gains and, most importantly, make history (Wendel Flora, 3).
However, some people believe that the Olympics cost too much money and countries are taking
money away from their people and making the country/people go poor. If those countries are ... Show

Intravenous Catheter Case Paper
Introduction
Indwelling central venous catheters (CVCs) have been in use for the last 3 decades and offer a more
simplified approach for children and adolescents who must endure frequent intravenous access for
treatment {Hastings, 2002 #6}. Well known complications are line infection, thrombosis, occlusion,
migration, and fracture with possible subsequent embolization. Less common complication is retained
CVC, following unsuccessful removal. This situation is reported in 0.4% 2% of all line removals
{Maizlin, 2010 #8;Milbrandt, 2009 #7}. Adherent tunneled catheters can usually be removed by a
surgical cut down, but in some cases the line can become stick to the wall of the central veins. In such
cases, forceful traction can cause vascular injury, or fracture of the catheter {Field, 2007 #9}. We
present challenging cases of a patients with stuck tunneled catheter, which could be securely removed
by combined surgical and endovascular techniques.

The Legend Of Subbanna Summary
The play is a monologue based on the legend of Veeranna who belongs to the chitradurga region of
Karnataka. Before its theatrical effectiveness in the play the legend is incorporated from Kannada
writer, T.R. Subbanna s (Knows as TaRaSu) novel, Hamsageethe (Swan Song) Published in 1952. The
title of the novel literally means the swan song of the protagonist, Venkatasubbayya whom Subbanna
inserts in the tale of Veeranna, the archaka of the Hidambeshwara temple. About the legend narrated in
Subbanna s version Aparna Bhargava Dharwadker writes in the Introduction to his collected Play
(Vol.II): The married priest has passionately in love with a mistress to whom he takes the offering
form the temple after the evening prayers. One day the palegar (chieftain) discovers a hair in the
prasada and demands and explanation from Veerganna, who claims that the hair belongs to god.
Challenged by the chieftain to prove the truth of this claim, the priest in turn challenges god to display
hair or accepts his head in punishment, and enters a meditative trance to the accompaniment of
Venkatasubbayya s song. When the chieftain arrives the next day to expose Veeranna s lie, the
Shivalinga has indeed sprouted long silken hair, and when (urged by the singer) he pulls out a tuft to
test its authenticity, blood begins to ooze from the crown of the lingam. overwhelmed by a sense of sin
at having injured the deity, Veeranna beheads himself in eh sanctum (xxxi).

The Flaws In The Movie Kingdom Of Heaven
The movie Kingdom of Heaven is a very good movie. It is biased off of the crusades more specifically
the second crusade. However, no matter how good any movie is there is always flaws, this one is no
different. The amount of flaws I am able to choose from is tremendous. I have categorized them into
three main topics. First I will be talking about the false things that have to do with Balian himself.
Next will be the weapons them self s and how they fire/are used and outcomes of them. Last I will
state many of the other false tings in the movie and back up why they are false. In the movie there are
many incorrect elements about Balian and surrounding Balian. One of the larger issues I can see is that
he is not from France. As Helena P. Schrader says Balian was born in the crusader Kingdom of
Jerusalem. The movie started out with a scene of Balian burying his dead wife. Several men ride by on
horses and one says She was a suicide cut her head off... but she really never committed suicide.

There are several kinds of paints you can use on a vehicle. The different kinds of paint are single

that single stage paint is the best to use. There is also a basecoat/clear coat system that can be used.
This system makes the job easier when you are doing a single color paint job. Tri stage paint originally
was reserved for custom paint jobs or high end vehicles. Tri stage paint systems are becoming
common on OEM paint finishes. Once the color of everything to paint is decided and the masking is
done it is time to start painting. If unexperienced one should practice on old body panels or parts

The Nature Of The And Hunter Gatherer Societies
Throughout history, humanities encounters with the other inhabitants of our planet have provoked
many questions and assumptions about the natural state of our being and our relationship with the the
world in which we live. A reflection from Sahlins on this relationship poses that Nature is to culture as
the constituted is to the constituting (1976: 209). Whereby nature as it exists in itself is the raw
material provided by the hand of God, waiting to be given meaningful shape and content by the mind
of man, culture provides a building plan for society with nature as the building materials (ibid:210).
The fate of nature once culturalized is its new mode of existence is then bound by the benefits of
exploitation by strongest of men. Through the well documented period of European colonialism in
Jahoda 2008 Wolf 2010, we can see how the assumptions of intellectual supremacy fed a negative
construction of the other , underpinning waves of colonial expansion and facilitating the domination of
pastoralist and hunter gatherer societies, ultimately serving to perpetuate economically exploitative
relationships. Fortunately for mankind, the remedial element of time and the critical thinking of the
enlightenment age has encouraged a more sympathetic consideration of radically different social
systems and cultural practices (Mason 1990 in Jahoda), and has inspired some thinkers (Locke 1689
Rousseau 1750) to envisage a more ethical, freer race of mankind. This essay

Determining the Accuracy of a Non-Contact Infrared...
Among many people, fever is commonplace while sick. This is especially true of pediatric patients
who develop fevers at the slightest indication of infection. 20% of emergency room visits for children
are due to an elevated temperature. (Fortuna et al., 2010 p. 103) A rectal temperature above 100.4°F is
considered to be fever. The preferred method of obtaining an accurate temperature reading is rectally,
as this gives the most precise core temperature reading. In some patients however, rectal thermometry
is contraindicated and an alternative method of measuring their temperature is needed. Not many
alternatives currently exist to give as accurate of a core temperature reading as the rectal thermometer.

Before beginning, general information was collected from the child s parent or guardian about any
fever reducing medication given, the patient s age, and what was bothering the child.
The study followed important aspects of the nursing process. First, the patients were assessed to
determine how sick they were and whether or not they qualified to participate in the study. The tools
for the research, in this case both thermometers, were acquired and implemented. The children s
temperature was then evaluated using both thermometers.
The process in which the data was obtained for the research study was as follows: The rectal
thermometer was inserted and held in place for 15 seconds and was then read. The same trained
person would then use the infrared thermometer in the middle of the forehead immediately after the
rectal temperature was recorded. The infrared thermometer had to be calibrated to the temperature of
the room before using. The people trained to use both thermometers correctly for this study were two
registered nurses, two paramedics and two pediatric emergency physicians. (Fortuna et al., 2010 p.
102) All of the data collected was gathered by one of these six people.
The results of this research study showed a discrepancy that was too large between the rectal
thermometer and the non contact infrared thermometer. There was a difference of as many as 4°F.

John Keats s Poem, Ode On A Grecian Urn, And The Eve Of...
Keats covered many topics in the poems he wrote during his short life but the theme of fantasy being a
better alternative to reality was prominent throughout many of his works. To Keats the idea that,
Heard melodies are sweet, but those unheard/ Are sweeter (Urn 11 12) play a major role in his poetry,
demonstrating that for him the idea of what is yet to come is far better than the actual reality of the
situation. Through the narratives and stories he tells in his poems, Ode on a Grecian Urn, Ode to a
Nightingale, and The Eve of St. Agnes, it is made evident that Keats would rather live in the fantasy
realm of his own mind than in reality. In his poem Ode on a Grecian Urn, the fantasy that Keats feels
is better than reality is displayed in the scenes decorating the urn, pictures forever frozen in time. At
the beginning of stanza two Keats writes, Heard melodies are sweet, but those unheard/ Are sweeter
(Urn 11 12). In these lines Keats is saying that the anticipation of an event or experience is far better
than the actual experience itself, or rather that the reality of a situation can never truly live up to the
ideal that one has had in one s mind. To Keats, the scenes displayed on the urn are so beautiful that he
not only admires the artwork, he envies those on the urn because they will forever get to display the
scenes of Happy happy boughs (Urn 21) and, unlike he, will never have to bid the spring adieu (Urn
22). To him the urn exemplifies the

Women s Rights During The 19th Century
From the beginning of year 1832, William Lloyd Garrison, an abolitionists and a reporter Association
organized an association against slavery and encouraged the full participation of women. Garrison s
idea is not supported by most of the abolitionists. Those abolitionists who did not want women to
participate in established another abolitionist organization. Abolitionism, also known as abolition of
slavery, is a political movement in order to abolishing the slave trade and slavery system. This
movement began in the Age of Enlightenment and went to the peak time in the 19th century. In many
places, this movement was getting substantially success. A handful of women began to be famous as
abolitionist writers and speakers such as Lydia Maria Child, Grimké sisters and Abby Kelley.
Although these women s speech focused on the evils of slavery, the fact that these women speak in
public itself was noteworthy and represented women s rights. Since women began to seek more
control over their lives, women s rights received more attention. Husband and father of one family still
held the right to speak and even could arrange the lives of women. Society prohibited women from
inheriting property, signing contracts, serving on a jury and voting in elections. Women s employers
thought women could only expect to get some jobs in service industry and can only get the half of
men s income if they did the same work. In 1836, Ernestine Ross began to preach to women s groups

2. The goal for the passive ball sorter is to sort hollow practice golf balls from golf balls into separate

Speech On Focus Puller
Think you ll be able to pull focus without measuring for it? Think again, because you will not be able

what would you say? It is because a follow focus puller knows how to shoulder that single
responsibility when it comes to keeping a subject in focus which is so amazingly valued, that there s
an entire job, in fact a career solely devoted to it.
There s no denying the fact that focus pullers and camera assistants have a lot more to do than just
spinning a disc which is attached to a lens for 12 hours a day, but this single act deserves the applause
being the most remarkable contribution that one makes to a film.

Measuring for focus should be the utmost goal because focus is set as well as decided upon through
distance. Without getting into lens optics, you re basically giving instructions to the lens which light
rays you want focused on the film or sensor plane at a certain distance.
Do you think your eyes you can do wonders the way tools do? Never! Your eyes will never be as
precise as your tools. Well, if you strive hard, you can achieve an exceptional level at guessing
distances, but don t you forget that not a single person will ever as exact as a dependable tape
measure? Keep in mind that guessing the distance and knowing the same are two different entities
when it comes to pulling focus.

One of the programs that are being discussed are the possibility of dividing up the SNAP benefit payment to twice a month, As quoted by Bhargava (2004) and Shapiro (2005) To break the food stamp cycle some researcher propose distributing SNAP benefits more often than the monthly schedule (as quoted by Richards, Sindelar, 2013). One hope for the indicated would be too encouraging increased fruits and vegetables to be purchased to produce a healthier eating pattern during the entire month. Hence, the curbing of high calorie foods are thought to generate obesity. The option also comes with problems. Some participants have no genuine incentive to improve their eating practices, and in store purchases and personal influence remain (Richards, Sindelar, 2013). Some participants feel they need to be rewarded for buying healthy, fresh foods with their snap benefits. An option that would provide an incentive for every purchase of fresh fruits and vegetables a reimbursement of SNAP cash will be added to the benefit card. The benefit will be added on toward the end of the month. Giving people the opportunity to buy additional groceries. Even with this option when the added benefits are placed on the SNAP the recipients can then proceed to purchase the sugar based drinks of their choice. • 4. The Physics Of Fractions As A Child Introduction: Ever since I first learned about fractions as a child, I was always heavily agitated by the fact that every time I would ask my teacher about dividing by zero, or have a calculator perform a equation where a non zero number was divided by zero, I would just be told there was no solution. I wondered for years about why there simply was no practical way to express a number divided by zero, until I learned about something strangely similar to dividing a number by zero, being black holes, or a gravitational singularity (a single point in space with a certain mass, equating to a density where the mass of the object is divided by zero). Just like dividing by zero, black holes are usually represented as an undefined point in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A counterargument could be immediately made that black holes do have a volume, but for clarification, this is in terms of its singularity, not its event horizon (or the critical radius), which is the black part of the hole that light does not escape from, as it is the point in which light can no longer escape, as the escape velocity (the speed required to break free of an object s gravity, according to physlink.com) is greater than the speed of light. Now that this is established, representing the infinite density of a black hole is difficult to understand, similarly in terms of the function 1/x, because like how the x value on the graph approaches the asymptote of zero on the x axis from positive infinity, the y value gradually leaves the asymptote of zero on the y axis to approach infinity, being not the largest possible number, but instead a filled space that has no bounds, such as a star that is shining light into all directions in space forever, therefore filing this ongoing void with light. That is infinity, so in terms of this essay, the light could be represented as 1/∞. If the light were to be replaced with mass, the volume of said mass would effectively be the opposite of a black hole, being an infinite number of some sort, with the density being calculated by dividing it s mass by infinity of some sort, representing it s volume. In simple fractions, they could likely be expressed as a circle or some other shape split into ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Homosexuals should be able to get married. I believe this because the main opposition of this are hypocrites, there are actions that are worse than same sex marriage that are legal, and there is nothing wrong with it. The main opposition of this are hypocrites. The religious leaders and figureheads that try to use the Bible as support for their campaign against same sex marriage are hypocrites. The book of Leviticus states that no man shall lie with another man. The same book also states that eating any sea creature without fins or scales is unholy, so why isn t there a campaign for banning the consumption of shrimp, seaweed, clams, etc.? The book of Mark states to treat others as you would yourself. So why are we as a nation segregating the homosexual community, even though we would hate to be ridiculed in any way, shape, and form? Same sex marriage imposes itself on society. Even if this is true, religion does this more. Jehovah Witnesses go door to door trying to convert people, as do many Christian and Catholic organizations. There are worse things than same sex marriage that are legal. It is legal to smoke cigarettes and drink alcohol. Cigarettes destroy the cells, preventing them from getting oxygen, leading to shortness of breath. The research was conducted to answer these questions because Merck, the maker of Gardasil, presented this vaccine as the first vaccine to prevent HPV and cervical cancer in girls but there was no real solid proof that the vaccine was successful since Merck and the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) approved the vaccine a year before the results/data on the vaccine s safety and efficacy became available. I feel like the article should have talked about both sides of the debate because, despite people s personal beliefs/feelings on Gardasil, the vaccine does work, just not on everything that the company is advertising that it does. It does not prevent cervical cancer mainly because with the way the lesions of cervical cancer are (CIN 1 3) the lesions hardly ever develop into the other two lesions known as CIN 2 and CIN 3. This article was completely against the vaccine but it provided plenty of proof and detail to back up why Gardasil should not be required, especially because research has proven that a pap smear can do more for women when it comes to cervical cancer than Gardasil can. I like the article overall, and it helped me understand a little more of what Gardasil can or cannot do. Forty five years later, in 1763, France signed treaties ceding Louisiana to Spain to whom it remained for the next forty years. Due to Mexican, Cuban and Spanish influence, the race rules in New Orleans were more liberal, allowing for a class of free people of color. In 1803 Louisiana was sold back to the French, who then twenty days later sold it to the United States in the Louisiana Purchase. New Orleans had become the largest city in the Confederacy by the start of the Civil War in 1861. New Orleans culture is a melting pot of Spanish, French, Mexican, Native American, and African descent. Creole is a term that refers to mixed race natives of Louisiana. Many creoles were free and their ancestors often had the same rights as white people. They often received formal education and owned property and slaves. Creole culture was catholic and French speaking as opposed to the Protestant and English speaking whole of America. This amalgamation of cultures created a safe haven for personal expression, and caused the development and evolution of the culture and Jazz music. In 1724, Code Nior was implemented which gave slaves Sundays and holidays off. On their days off, slaves gathered any place they could find such as levees, backyards, and remote areas. In 1817, the mayor of New Orleans issued an ordinance which restricted slaves congregation to an area called Congo Square. On Sunday afternoons, men ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The use of the word rage shows the poet requesting his father to resist death. The second stanza defines the attitude of wise men that realize that death is near. Burn and rave are usually associated with the passion of youth and thus the poet wants his father to sing passionately. The close of day symbolizes the approaching death meaning that his father will eventually die soon. In this case, the use of sad height may as well symbolize the closeness to death. Gentle is used as an adjective that signifies the poet s father s personality. The poem: Do not go gentle into that good night is structured in a villanelle. Thus the form of the villanelle reveals that it has a refrain and self improvised lyrics in each stanza. Poetical devices are also used in this poem such as alliteration that include the following: Do not go gentle into that goodnight Rage, rage against the dying of the light. Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay is an example of a simile used in the poem. Curse, bless me now with your fierce tears, I pray is an example of an oxymoron where the poet is asking his father to bless as well as curse him. Dylan Thomas had also shown the use of parallelism describing the actions of three different men: wise men good men wild men . The speaker requests that his father has the qualities of these kinds of men. Considering that many fast food chains off discounts to seniors, one could possibly pay the regular price and not even think of the possibility of a discount. Price discrimination can be described as identical services or goods being sold at different prices by one single provider (Sexton, 2013). Therefore, each time a person shops at Goodwill, he or she has the opportunity of a reduced cost providing stipulations are met such as being a student, senior, or military. In order to meet the qualification of price discrimination, three points are provided. First, the organization must provide a good or service that is not offered by other organizations, establishing a monopoly. Secondly, the elasticities of demand have to be prevalent, and, and thirdly, stipulations have to be enforced in order to prevent reselling of the product or service for a profit. Considering the price differences encountered by parking garages, price discrimination can be established by examining the price differences between long term parking and short term parking. Next he describes a few crazy behaviors that are common to most people: talking to oneself; making faces when no one is looking; and giving in to irrational fears of snakes, the dark, tight places, and things lurking where we cannot see them. Most people can relate to these behaviors and can reason this is true. He then moves on to explain how we face these fears and give our emotions a break by watching a horror movie. He likens this to a roller coaster that is a mixture of fun and delicious terror as it takes its participants by surprise with a 360 degree loop or, plows through a lake at the bottom of the drop. The drug crime link refers to the argument that crime is one of, if not the major, consequent problems of drug use (Bean, 2008), essentially, crime is a problem that arises from drug use and drug use can arise from crime also. Drug use is a largely illegal activity consequently making it extremely difficult to measure (Bean, 2008). There are a lot of problems measuring the prevalence of drug use in society as it mainly hidden away to avoid prosecution. Coomber et al. This essentially indicates that quite a number of the population have used an illegal drug recently. If this is the case, wouldn t crime be a bigger problem in the world? The fact that power was divided from one kingdom to three, however, shows decentralization of influence, which is an element of democracy. The formation of the three dynasties in China did not offer any practical solution to the chaotic situation in the country. This disapproves the imagination that democracy was growing in the country. If it was indeed democracy, then its growth had not ended. This is because after the formation of the three dynasties, political division in China widened even further. After Christopher Columbus discovered the new world in 1492, Europeans invaded the Americas, Africa, and East Asia. Today, these places are some of the most affected by poverty. The poverty persists because the peoples of these places were killed and enslaved. Their land, natural resources, and way of life were stolen by the colonizers. The colonizers forced the colonies to shift from subsistence farming to cash crops, obliterating the natural economy. Since they only grew cash crops, they were forced to buy European goods. The economy of the colonies became locked and they became completely dependent on the colonizing country. Soon, the colonies found themselves in debt to their colonizers. What little money these colonies were able to make went to repay the debt, instead of going toward the development of the colony. Additionally, since they were indebted to them, their colonizers had control over their economy. The creditors took full advantage of this and forced the colonies to adopt neoliberalism and privatize companies and resources, which plunged even more people into absolute poverty. Even when many of these colonies became their own independent countries, the documentary mentioned that the debt was transferred over to the new country, even though this was a violation of international law. They immediately went on a diplomatic tour (she was now queen after all), meeting with Dr. Doom in Latveria, the President of the United States, Namor in Atlantis, and others. Then for a short time they even filled in for Sue and Reed Richards as members of the Fantastic Four. Eventually the marriage was annulled when Namor attacks Wakanda and T Challa felt he had ... Have you ever thought about what the Olympics would be like if they were always in the same place? Imagine not being able to guess where the next Olympics are going to be held and traveling the world to get there. This is what will happen if the IOC stopped the Olympics from traveling from country to country. The only solution to stop this; keep the Olympics moving around country to country. The Olympics should not have a permanent home and should continue to move around the world. Having them in a permanent home takes away more than you think to people. To start, having the Olympics in a permanent home would deprive nations of a chance to show national pride, economic gains and, most importantly, make history (Wendel Flora, 3). However, no matter how good any movie is there is always flaws, this one is no different. The amount of flaws I am able to choose from is tremendous. I have categorized them into three main topics. First I will be talking about the false things that have to do with Balian himself. Next will be the weapons them self s and how they fire/are used and outcomes of them. Last I will state many of the other false tings in the movie and back up why they are false. In the movie there are many incorrect elements about Balian and surrounding Balian. One of the larger issues I can see is that he is not from France. As Helena P. Schrader says Balian was born in the crusader Kingdom of Jerusalem. • 33. The Nature Of The And Hunter Gatherer Societies Throughout history, humanities encounters with the other inhabitants of our planet have provoked many questions and assumptions about the natural state of our being and our relationship with the the world in which we live. A reflection from Sahlins on this relationship poses that Nature is to culture as the constituted is to the constituting (1976: 209). Whereby nature as it exists in itself is the raw material provided by the hand of God, waiting to be given meaningful shape and content by the mind of man, culture provides a building plan for society with nature as the building materials (ibid:210). The fate of nature once culturalized is its new mode of existence is then bound by the benefits of exploitation by strongest of men. Through the well documented period of European colonialism in Jahoda 2008 Wolf 2010, we can see how the assumptions of intellectual supremacy fed a negative construction of the other , underpinning waves of colonial expansion and facilitating the domination of pastoralist and hunter gatherer societies, ultimately serving to perpetuate economically exploitative relationships. Fortunately for mankind, the remedial element of time and the critical thinking of the enlightenment age has encouraged a more sympathetic consideration of radically different social systems and cultural practices (Mason 1990 in Jahoda), and has inspired some thinkers (Locke 1689 Rousseau 1750) to envisage a more ethical, freer race of mankind. The preferred method of obtaining an accurate temperature reading is rectally, as this gives the most precise core temperature reading. The tools for the research, in this case both thermometers, were acquired and implemented. The children s temperature was then evaluated using both thermometers. The process in which the data was obtained for the research study was as follows: The rectal thermometer was inserted and held in place for 15 seconds and was then read. The same trained person would then use the infrared thermometer in the middle of the forehead immediately after the rectal temperature was recorded. The infrared thermometer had to be calibrated to the temperature of the room before using. • 35. John Keats s Poem, Ode On A Grecian Urn, And The Eve Of... Keats covered many topics in the poems he wrote during his short life but the theme of fantasy being a better alternative to reality was prominent throughout many of his works. To Keats the idea that, Heard melodies are sweet, but those unheard/ Are sweeter (Urn 11 12) play a major role in his poetry, demonstrating that for him the idea of what is yet to come is far better than the actual reality of the situation. Through the narratives and stories he tells in his poems, Ode on a Grecian Urn, Ode to a Nightingale, and The Eve of St. Agnes, it is made evident that Keats would rather live in the fantasy realm of his own mind than in reality. In his poem Ode on a Grecian Urn, the fantasy that Keats feels is better than reality is displayed in the scenes decorating the urn, pictures forever frozen in time. At the beginning of stanza two Keats writes, Heard melodies are sweet, but those unheard/ Are sweeter (Urn 11 12). In these lines Keats is saying that the anticipation of an event or experience is far better than the actual experience itself, or rather that the reality of a situation can never truly live up to the ideal that one has had in one s mind. To Keats, the scenes displayed on the urn are so beautiful that he not only admires the artwork, he envies those on the urn because they will forever get to display the scenes of Happy happy boughs (Urn 21) and, unlike he, will never have to bid the spring adieu (Urn 22). Abolitionism, also known as abolition of slavery, is a political movement in order to abolishing the slave trade and slavery system. This movement began in the Age of Enlightenment and went to the peak time in the 19th century. In many places, this movement was getting substantially success.
