It s Time to Privatize Social Security Essay
Social Security was established as a promise to the people of continuation of income into retirement.
Well the road to hell is often paved with good intentions, because that promise now has the country in
economic uncertainty. The guarantee that workers will be taken care of in their old age if they paid
their Social Security tax, is no longer guaranteed. If we don t come to a unanimous decision as to a
plan of reform; financially our country is doomed. Social Security has always struck me as a socialist
program. Returning to our capitalist roots is where we will find the solution to this problem.
Privatizing Social Security offers solutions to our current problems, and empowers the people with
ownership and a voice in their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The government has borrowed against this surplus, to pay for other government expenditures in the
national budget, each year; and writing itself IOUs. By 2012 the government will have borrowed 3
trillion dollars from the trust funds (www.socialsecurityreform.org). The unexpected surplus is
attributed to the entrance of baby boomers into the workforce.
At the end of World War II mass numbers of soldiers were discharged from the military, and looking
to start a family to make up for lost time. The population explosion this created is known as The Baby
Boom . When the baby boomers entered the workforce, there were more people working and paying
taxes than was needed to cover Social Security benefits. Thus, creating the surplus that we see today.
Not all baby boomers had children, and the ones that did had fewer children than previous
generations. When the baby boomers are ready to retire; there won t be enough workers to support
promised benefits.
In as early as 2012 it is estimated there will only be two workers paying taxes for every one recipient
of Social Security benefits. At that time the surpluses generated each year will cease, and Social
Security will begin to run a deficit (paying out more than it takes in). The government will then have
to begin paying back the money borrowed from the trusts, plus interest. Since no money has been
saved for this purpose, the government will be forced to increase the national debt, cut

Angela Merkel Bürokratopoly
Angela Merkel Is a great world leader, through overcoming her way of thinking. By growing up in
Former East Germany (Angela Merkel s, 2015) before the wall fell under communist regime. Where
she was being controlled in every aspect of life with harsh punishments if not followed to fullest
extent; which I might include are not even imaginable by todays standards. Unlike the common board
game Monopoly, the communist Germany played Bürokratopoly. (Leveille, 2014). This game is
different to Monopoly for Monopoly is to get filthy rich, Bürokratopoly has a different tack. Money

This decision was very unprecedented and unexpected for the German culture is typically a light

change in the economy. For these people did not speak the language nor did they live the same way.
Angela Merkel still decided to make this decision for the German population is aging too fast, so by
bringing in these Syrian refugees it replenishes the population with new and younger people. Seeing
why this decision makes sense is obvious at this time, but in 10 20 years the change will be
understood (if these refugees are integrated into society). Since its not understood at this time it split
the people into two categories: supporters and non supporters. Supporters would take the Syrian
refugees in and care for them. Non supporters would not take them in, in fact they would burn down
the building the refugees would be living in. It caused a lot of trouble, for seeing why they need the

Horse Slaughter Persuasive Essay
There are 9.2 million tame horses and an additional 47,329 wild horses in the United States, while
only 2 million people own horses (Moss; Horses in the United States ). With that being said, it s safe
to say that the United States has a surplus of horses. One of the most controversial solutions for the
unwanted horses is slaughter. Horse slaughter has been around for decades, but due to changes in
societal views, the topic has ignited controversy. In today s society, horses are being viewed as
companion animals rather than livestock. The problem is that legally, horses are considered livestock
and the laws for the treatment of companion animals versus livestock are very different (Winegar, The
Horse Slaughter Debate: Solving the Puzzle ). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If the government were to care for the 100,000 unwanted horses per year, the total cost for one year
would be $220 million (Gwinn). As an alternative for horse slaughter, groups are trying to educate the
public. The HSUS decided to create The HSUS Complete Guide to Equine Care, which explains all of
the responsibilities and price tags involved in owning a horse until the end of its life. They are also
trying to spread the word about ways to get the full horse experience, without taking on the complete
financial and physical responsibilities of owning a horse. Some of these experiences include leasing,
volunteering, attending shows, local 4 H Horse and Pony Club events, or fostering rescue horses
(Winegar, The Horse Slaughter Debate: Solving the Puzzle ) According to PETA, Horses are part of

The Two Act Comic Opera Barbier Von Bagdad

History of European Opera

Barbier Von Bagdad The two act comic opera Barbier Von Bagdad is a two act opera composed by
Peter Cornelius to a German Libretto by the composer in 1858. The libretto is based on two stories,
The Tale of the Tailor and The Barber s Stories of his Six Brothers from The Arabian Nights, as
commonly known as One Thousand and One Nights. This collection of Middle Eastern, Indian, and
North and Western African stories of unknown date and authorship was written in 9th century, when
the Arabs were rapidly expanding their territories and the influence of Islam. The stories in the
collection praised the virtues from the Arabians standard and spread their value around the world. As
one of the most well known Middle Eastern literature, One Thousand and One Nights has not only set
the story of Barbier Von Bagdad in an exoticized world, but also fit into the German people s typical
view of Arab, ensuring that the audience could easily accept the characters. The composer Peter
Cornelius was born in mainz into a family with theatrical background. His career started off as an
actor, but later Cornelius studied violin and learnt composition with Heinrich Esser in Berlin. In
Cornelius early life, he was initially interested in literature, instead of music. This explained why he
later became a prolific critic. In 1849, Cornelius accomplished his first libretto for a one act short
comic opera. Even though

Leica Brand Positioning Case Study
Positioning
In this section, we will analyze how Leica is positioned in the market. What makes it different than
any other brand? Brand positioning is an important concept in the marketing strategy. It is at the heart
of every strategy in the market. It is how a company or a brand s products and offerings are designed
differently in a way that is placed uniquely in the mind of customers compared to competitors.
We ve been experiencing a period of a changed photographic business sector. There was a
considerable amount of questions after we opened our store in Dubai on whether we were turning into
a luxurious brand. All things considered, our stores were very reminiscent of adornments stores. At the
end, Leica stores are indicative of jewelry ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Many people cannot purchase a Leica in their early years. However, as their income rises by time,
Leica products turn out to be more obtainable. Asaad (2016) wanted to show us how individuals
actually save money just to get the Leica camera. Those people who see it really different than any
other brand. There was a Philippian guy who each week passes by the Leica office Dubai and just look
at the camera, try taking pictures with it, and gets motivated to save more money. He kept passing by
the store for about two years until he had the chance to actually purchase it. Leica is a great
investment. Investing in Leica is not a waste of money at all. On the other hand, you can sell it after
ten years, and receive more than quadruple the price, said Asaad (2016). In addition when people
become more aware about Leica products and that they are made in Germany by hand; they start to

The State Of The Texas Education Policy
The current state of the Texas education policy is very complex and its roots can be traced all the way
back to times were there was no equality in the public school system, we can even say it can be traced
as far back to the state s split from Mexico. This was a very problematic situation that began to be
reformed heavily starting in 1954. The legislations that passed to resolve this problem have morphed
the Texas Public education policy into what it is today.
It was because of the split from Mexico that Texas created the Constitution of the Republic of Texas,
which included a clause in it that established a public school system, but it wasn t successful in
achieving that goal until 1954 when a bill was passed. This plan was to be ... Show more content on

years and would become the chief executive officer for the TEA.
While the Texas public school system may not be segregated now it took a lot of court cases to get
there due to Texas past as a highly segregated state. While this is the route that Texas takes, the United
States simply takes the route of creating acts such as Race and National Origin Discrimination.
Desegregation has been a troubling issue in not only the Texas public school system but also the
United States as a whole. However, they have had to two totally different ways to handle this
situation. Under the Texas Constitution separation of races was not wronged. This all change after a
very controversial court case, Plessy vs. Ferguson and continued to reform by way of court decisions.
The Plessy vs. Ferguson case decided that facilities could be segregated, but they must be equal .
Texas being the highly racist state that it was at the time found loopholes around this judgment. Many

The Internet Of Things Can Be Developed And Refined
The Internet of Things seeks to connect everyday devices and sensors in order to monitor and
influence their environment. In the coming years everything from your refrigerator to your car will be
networked together to collect data and simplify your life. However, in order for this future to come to
fruition, the underlying infrastructure must be developed and refined. This infrastructure needs to be
able to support the high volume of data that will be generated as well as the lossy channels over which
that data will be communicated. The Internet of Things is still a new and upcoming technology and as
such much of the state of the art still concerns itself with the development of the underlying protocols
and architectures. One of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It can be used to connect 6LoWPAN networks directly to other networks and the Internet through an
IP router. The 6LoWPAN protocol is designed for low power radio transmitter that have to operate
over lossy channels. 6LoWPAN implements header compression to reduce the overhead needed to
send an individual data packet. It is able to accomplish this by removing redundant header fields and
using a compressed version of the routing address. To accommodate for the limited packet sizes,
fragmentation and reassembly is required to transmit large packets. [2]The unique constraints of IoT
networks also require a specialized network routing protocol. Currently the leading candidate is the
RPL protocol. Typically, all sensor nodes in an IoT network are connected the root node via a multi
hop path. The root node often serves as the data/network coordinator as well as a gateway to the
Internet. For each root node a Destination Oriented Directed Acyclic Graph is used to optimize the
path from any node back to the root node. This Graph is created by calculating shortest path to the
root node that adheres to specific set of constraints. Some of these constraints might include:
minimizing the number of hops, only using encrypted links, avoiding battery operated devices, etc.
Once, the graph is created data can be forwarded along the graph to the root node [4].The CoAP
protocol operates at the application layer and is similar to HTTP, but with

Stereotypes Of Dumb Blondes
Blondes do not deserve the reputation society has given them. Contrary to popular belief, the dumb
blonde jokes are nothing but inaccurate and long drawn out. It s no secret that blondes are given a bad
name based on their physical appearance. The media has done a great deal of prolonging this idea into
the brains of millions. Television shows and radio broadcasts are most commonly to blame for much
of these blonde hair stereotypes. These media outlets have especially taken a certain comedic point of
view for portraying the role of blondes in society. People try to define blondes by using derogatory
terms like stupid, moronic, and brainless, but little do they know that hair color has absolutely no
effect on the way a person thinks or ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Extensive media sources, as well as literary sources, have been notorious for establishing a certain
stereotype of an individual based on physical appearance. This image centers on ones weight, height,
hair color, and overall physical beauty. It is reported that these particular attributes may affect ones
personal career. No one knows quite why this is the case, but there have been several studies that
involve these works, linking whether there is a direct correlation with these results or if it comes down
to a discriminative nature. Among some of the most interesting studies, are the ones that deal with bias
in the workplace. According to a journal from Labour Economics, Blonde women with no work
experience earn 6% 9% less than their non blonde counterparts (Dechter 2015). The findings show
that blondes can have positive, as well as negative, effects in the workplace. The stronger negative
effect of blonde hair color is commonly apparent in sales (Dechter 2015). This theory has proven to be
true by the sheer presence of customer discrimination, thus showing a lack of blondes in the sales
profession (Dechter 2015). Both negative and positive preferences for blondeness are in line with the
prejudices of the blonde stereotype , which attributes a series of positive and negative characteristics
to young blonde women but not to young blonde men (Dechter 2015). Based on a study in the UK in
2006, scientists analyzed 500 CEOs and discovered that blondes were very underrepresented
compared to men and women with other hair colors (Dickinson 2012). A separate study done in 1996,
concluded that after the subjects displayed headshots in their resume during a job interview, blondes
were greatly undermined (Dickinson 2012). Although all the resumes were identical, the blonde
applicants were rated as less competent

Essay about Small Pox History
Small Pox History
Smallpox has been believed to be a prominent killer for thousands of years. Before 900 AD smallpox
and measles were easily interchangeable to many physicians. These two diseases possessed similar
symptoms, such as fevers and rashes, making it very difficult to distinguish between them. It was not
until the Persian physician, Rhazes Ar Raz Abmiz, that measles and smallpox were able to be
clinically distinguished in 900 AD. Much later in 1751, Thomas Sydenham found further
differentiating characteristics between the two diseases(Aufderheide, 202). Through the years, with its
many outbreaks in varying areas across the planet, smallpox claimed millions of victims. Many rulers
and soldiers were killed by this incredibly ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With the development of the vaccine, laws requiring vaccination soon appeared in many
countries(McNeil, 166). When deaths from the vaccination itself outnumbered the reported deaths
from actual smallpox in 1970, many countries decided to discontinue the vaccination. Today smallpox
has been eradicated from the planet; many are still worried that it will be used for bioterrorism as it
was by the British army who attempted to infect representatives of the Delaware Indians with two
infected blankets during the 1763 Pontiac s Rebellion(Hopkins, 16).
Smallpox has been seen throughout history. In ancient records the Lesser Pox has been believed to
refer to smallpox while the Greater Pox is syphilis. It has also been referred to as the petite
verole(McNeil, 166). This human unique disease resembles both cowpox and monkeypox. Smallpox
is caused by two virus variants. One is Variola minor, which is the lesser harmful variant. It is usually
referred to as alastrim. Its mortality rate is only 1% of its victims. On the other hand, its far more
harmful virus relative, Variola major, has a mortality rate of 20 40% of its victims(Aufderheide, 203).
In order for this disease to spread among individuals, a non immune person must come in close
contact with an infected individual that was infected less than two weeks prior. Throughout history,
persistent migrations also aided the spread of smallpox. Many

Enron And Its Effect On Society
Throughout history and surrounding us everyday we see that money equals power. What we also
witness as a society, is that the more wealth acquired the more underlying corruption is involved.
While taking Financial Accounting here at Sacred Heart University, I am learning how money that is
earned and spent is recorded within a firm. An accountant within a firm has to be very exact with
numbers in order to make the correct statements for the company. In reality, if the accounting
department fails the entire firm fails. It is easy to see how companies manipulate their numbers in
order to increase profit for themselves. Money equals power and the more money coming in, the more
power hungry companies tend to get. The same principal happens ... Show more content on

In the early 1990 s financial analysts studying Enron hypothesized that even though Enron was selling
some of its major assets, they would begin to experience a great amount of debt. For example, Enron
sold assets to a company called Azurix. Azurix was unable to live up to the standards that would
financially benefit Enron and over a short amount of time, led to some major debts for Enron. This
was happening with a lot of companies that Enron sold to and partnered up with. Over time, Enron
started losing a significant amount of money and had to figure a way to quickly make it back.
In 1990, COO Jeffery Skilling made a choice that would haunt him forever. Skilling hired Andrew
Fastow to help with Enron s financial dilemma. Fastow s plan was for Enron to open up limited
liability special purpose entities. This meant that Enron would open up an SPE to hide its debt and
ownership so that on paper, Enron wasn t claiming all of its losses. The true benefit of this was to
maintain its stock price and to have the company appear to be growing, while in fact it was hiding
from the world that it was collapsing (Seabury, Investopedia). After years of appearing to be growing

A Raisin In The Sun Lena Quotes
Lena is arguably the most determined character in Lorraine Hansberry s A Raisin in the Sun. She
works tirelessly to support her family s dreams, and refuses to leave anyone behind. Not even a feeble
dying houseplant. Her hopes for the future of her family illustrate the classic idea of the American
Dream , indicating that anyone can achieve success if they work hard enough. Lena s withering plant
represents her will to survive, the dreams she has for her children, and her loyalty to the ones she
loves. While Lena hasn t had an easy life, she refuses to give up, just like the plant that continues to
grow without proper nutrients and sunlight.
Lena s plant represents her will to survive, despite her dreary circumstances. Lord if this little old

Differences Between The Plefuans And The Patricians
Today for your review, a discussion of the economic and political differences between the patricians
and the plebeians and an examination of the results of the first revolt.
According to Morey, (1901), in such an ironic conclusion, the plebeians had consolidated with the
patricians to overthrow the kings that were in power, and together were successful in this affiliation.
However, while the patricians were awarded lands and gained more power after the kings were
overthrown, there were disastrous results for the plebeians. There are many things that lead to the
revolt, first, while the plebeians had the right to vote, they could not hold a political office, or sit in the
Senate. The rule of the patricians proved to be as oppressive as the kingship had and the struggle
began in earnest between the two classes. Second to add insult to injury the plebeians were even worse
off monetarily.
Not only were there great economic hardships, but the human suffering was just as great, most of the
plebeians lived outside the city walls, with their home and families vulnerable, and while the plebeian
men were away serving their country, fighting in the war, their families were left unprotected and

Problem Statement:
Toyota grew at a record speed and could not keep up with the speed in which it was growing. They are
a centralized company and Japan only made the decisions. This prevented the company to keep up
with the safety problems. The process that Toyota external suppliers follow when improving product
and making sure the product is functioning properly before shipping to Toyota needs to be improved
before they release the product from their warehouse to be sent to Toyota. This problem began when
the company started to rapidly grow. Toyota s lack of communication led to the faulty gas pedal recall.

It is important that Toyota improve their communication and process of evaluating their parts because
if they don t they risk losing customers and market shares. An improved process would also give them
reassures that this issue does not arise again. According to Porter (1996) Delivering greater value
allows a company to charge a higher average unit price; greater efficiency result in lower average unit
cost (p.62). Toyota needs to focus more on quality than quantity. After quality is critiqued then they
can continue to grow at a lower rate. If Toyota gives their North American companies power to make
decisions than it would be a huge improvement to the companies and less risk of safety issues.
Toyota showing their customers, potential customers and shareholders that they have improved the

Painting Portraiture In The Whirlwind By Paul Wright
Painting portraiture will become obsolete when the time arrives that photographers will have learned
something about portraiture in its deeper sense... Alfred Stieglitz. Keeping a memory of someone was
not easy during the Enlightment era as it is today. Individuals now keep thousands of images and
photographs for important and unimportant events to mark them, while the expenses of having a
portrait painting during early ages was sometimes unaffordable. However, painting portraiture did not
become obsolete even with the immerse use of photography. Paul Wright a contemporary artist who
painted the Whirlwind has proved Stieglitz wrong as portrait paintings still have their significance, but

The painting is still being interpreted differently, however one of the interpretations is that the portrait
is painted to keep a memory of the wife since many wives died after giving birth at the time. The wife
is thought to be pregnant and so a memory of the wife with her husband seemed to be necessary. The
couples were of an upper middle class which were able to afford to pay the artist for a portrait and the
details of the era were also described in the painting. The clothing, the furniture, religious figures that
are present in the mirror for instance give an idea of the important details considered at that ear. Jan
van Eyck in other words, used the portrait to describe the couples, to keep a memory of them, and
described significant details of that era. He visualized how an upper class family usually is in terms of
their houses and clothing. Moreover, the artist uses lightening and shades to emphasize more on the
painting and to make it as real as

Teams in the Workforce Essay
Teams in the Workforce
Introduction
The working environment in the United States and in many other countries is undergoing tremendous
change. The global marketplace, international trade, and the Internet have brought about a new way of
looking at business. Competition has risen to levels never before attained. In order for businesses to
succeed in such a competitive market, they must change their organizational structures and the way
they conduct their work processes. However, change is difficult. People are the heart of any
organization and in order to change people, it takes time. Collaboration is one of the new constructs
that will replace hierarchy as the new inter relational model in the workplace. These new work teams

These are forming, conforming, storming and performing. During the forming stage, team members
become acquainted with one another and learn the purpose for the team. Relationships between the
members must be established and trust begins to form. Goals for the group are established and rules
and expectations are clarified. In this stage, a leader usually emerges.
During the conforming stage, the team focuses on creating a cohesive group. This is when members
began to identify with the team and form a commitment to the team and its goals. A shared vision is an
important factor at this stage of team development. The leader helps the team create their vision,
develop its personality, and agree on its goals.
If the team is progressing normally, it will then move into the storming stage. This can be a difficult
time because at this stage, members often are faced with disagreements and conflict. In this stage,
team members air their ideas, differences, opinions, and conclusions. The team leader will need all his
or her skills to manage the team and refocus their efforts to foster win/win situations. If the leader is
unable to do this, the team sometimes dissolves into chaos, abandons the project, and all the work they
accomplished up to

Research Paper On The Nicene Creed
Religion 11 In Class Essay
When the Nicene Creed was created and finalized in 381 A.D., there were many heresies under the
umbrella of Christianity. The Nicene Creed seeked to address these heresies and remove them from
mainstream worship. One of the many heresies in this time was Arianism.
Arianism was a form of Christianity that believed that Christ was made by the Father, therefor not
coeternal with the Father and not consubstantial either. Arianism was popular among the Ostrogoth s
and Visigoths, as well as the ruling elite of many other German tribes in the Late Roman, Early Dark
Ages period. Arianism s popularity died out by 700 A.D., due to it being deemed heretical and being
contradicted by things such as the Nicene Creed.

Parapsychic Abilities Research Paper
If I could pick one superhuman ability, I would pick the ability to be parapsychic. Having psychic
abilities does it all: psychokinesis, telepathy, clairvoyance and precognition.
I would have endless, infinite knowledge. I would be able to breach human conscience and delve deep
into the pits of human thinking. I could harbour the entirety of human intelligence into my own little
mind. Maybe this foreshadows imminent doom. But I cannot help but be tempted by all these what ifs

I would hold the lives of billions in my hands, and I could crush those lives with the slightest twitch.
That sheer power is so distant, it is almost unimaginable. For to have all the knowledge of the world
would mean to be like God, would it not? I could be benign, or I could be cruel, and absolutely
nothing could stand in my way. That absolute freedom of will is what attracts me, what drives me to
choose this ability. I could be anyone, do anything.
But I would not be free from conscience. Would conscience allow me to execute these selfish
pleasures? These unthinkable deeds? I take back what I said, for conscience of mind is the highest
power. It masters all, and all minds suffer great pain at the caprice of this thing. And if I were to have
all these powers, yet have nothing at the same time no purpose, no love, what good would these
powers do me?
So with these powers I would enjoy life s little gifts. Enjoy the humour presented to me by the
oblivious ignorance of those around. Play small games on people, watch them go around in circles,
confused, then return to their usual routine of stupefaction. I could do harm to mankind, yet I would
not. I would choose to live out my days in obscur

Maus by Art Spiegelman
In the book Maus it shows many structures in the way the animals are portrayed. The Jews being
drawn as mice; mice are known to be small and dependent. As the Germans being drawn as cats; cats
being bigger and more independent tend to eat mice. Nazis haunt torture and kill the weak Jews just
like cats. It is an analogy, cats and mouse. The mouse is a symbol for subordinate and the cat is
supremacy. Spiegelman s meaning for drawings the character like that has a totally different approach.
His main purpose was to show the different kinds of ethnicities in the book, through the different types
of animals in order to tell them apart. His main purpose was also to show the human traits of the
animal by drawing them with human bodies.
In the first book, the characters are made sure to represent the different characters description of the
character, Spiegleman does it by dividing them into their ethnicity, the Jews shown as mice, the
Germans as cats, and the Polish as pigs. Having done this Spiegleman created a different form to view
the diversities of his characters by simply arranging the people through different types of human types
that were categorized by that time by portraying the readers that the Jews who are viewed as the mice
in this case are shown the weakest and subordinate, this enables much significance in the choice of
characters. In the book you see that the Germans and Jews were starting to form a game of cat and
mouse where the Germans start to bother the Jews

Communist Manifesto Essay
The Communist Manifesto was built with intentions to serve as a program meant for the Communist
party during its time of publishing. Karl Marx and Frederick Engels, philosopher and author (titled
respectively), composed the document as a form of instruction for the followers of a new congress,
which is known as The Second Congress . The duo worked tirelessly throughout the final months of
the year 1847 and through January of 1848, only to have a modified adaptation of their original
document published in February of 1848. The Communist Manifesto acted as a symbol of victory for
the newcomers to the Communist party. The authors used the document to clarify the contradictions in
between various social classes and to identify various injustices in between them. To ensure that their
views and opinions of the Communist party were proliferated throughout as much of the continent of
Europe as possible, Marx and Engels requested that editions be published in multiple languages for
multiple understandings. Therefore, after the original German text was created and published, Danish,
Polish, and Swedish translations ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Germany s attempt to fight the Bourgeoisie peaks the attention of the Communist party. Marx

Walden And Transcendentalism
Indeed, Henry David Thoreau s Walden is considered to be a classic in American literature after
analyzing the themes and symbols it is apparent why this novel is so popular. My research of the novel
focuses solely on the key elements to Walden. Which are transcendentalism and the symbolism
constantly being repeated throughout the work. Specifically my research covers Thoreau s cabin,
transcendentalism, and other symbolic references. Consequently, Thoreau s cabin is considered to be
sacred ground amongst transcendentalists. The cabin is so sacred to them that they kept it around as a
landmark. The cabin is a popular vacation spot for visitors, it is on exhibit accompanied by a statue of
Thoreau.
Undoubtedly transcendentalism is a key factor ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Thoreau s fascination with the ice industry is acute. He describes in detail the Irish icemen who arrive
from Cambridge to cut, block, and haul away 10,000 tons of ice for use in city homes and fancy
hotels. The ice cutters are the only group of people ever said to arrive at Walden Pond as one. They
unavoidably represent society in miniature, with all the calculating abuse and terribly unfair
treatments that Thoreau sees in the world at large. So, the labor of the icemen on Walden becomes a
symbolic example of theargument of society and nature. Seemingly it would appear that society gets
the upper hand, as the frozen pond is chopped up, deformed, and destroy ten thousand tons of its
contents. But nature triumphs in the end, since less than twenty five percent of the ice ever reaches its
destination, the rest melting and disappearing on the way and making its way back to Walden Pond.
With this analysis, Thoreau hints that humankind s efforts to fully use (for profit) nature are without
success (or without purpose), since nature regenerates itself on a far greater scale than humans could
ever hope to affect, much less threaten. The icemen s mistreatment of Walden contrasts sharply with
Thoreau s less money based, morepoem related use of it. In describing the rare magical and
mysterious blue of

Santa Clause Argument
Santa Claus
This passage presents a discussion about arguments concerning the existence of Santa Claus. This is
an important debate for children everywhere because of the Christmas spirit that Santa Claus instills in
them. The two positions argue whether or not Santa Claus exists or not. Both viewpoints have valid
claims warranting consideration. For example, evidence indicates that Santa Claus is only imaginary.
In contrast, opposing evidence suggests that he is real. While both sides of the issue have valid points,
the claim that Santa Claus exists is the stronger supported, the position supported by a preponderance
of the evidence cited in the passages. The most convincing and forceful reasons in support of this
position are that he lives in a unseeable world, he is what brings joy to Christmas, and those who do
not believe in him are only skeptics. Accordingly, these reasons and opposing viewpoints will be
discussed next. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In support of this point, a great amount of the universe cannot be seen, and because of this, it is likely
that Santa Claus lives in that portion of the universe. In addition, if this part of the universe is
invisible, then there is no clout to the claim that he does not exist only because he cannot be seen.
Consequently, this is evidence in support of the case that there is a Santa Claus. The second relevant
point to make is support of the claim that Santa Claus does indeed exist is that he is what brings joy to
Christmas. For example, if there were no Santa Clause, Christmas would be as normal a time of year
as any. But, since Christmas is the most joyous and happy time of year, it proves that there is a
difference here. Additionally, there would be a far less joy at Christmas if there was no Santa Claus. In
short, the joy and festiveness of Christmas proves that there is a Santa

Evaluation: Technology Trends
There are a number of different avenues for marketing products, and choosing the right one to fit the
population is essential. One new marketing option that has become popular is online marketing;
because it is a new method the effectiveness in the market needs to be examined. Kudler Fine Foods is
launching fine wine sales in Brazil and China. The Miniwatts Marketing Group (2011) website tracks
Internet access of citizens of different countries, and in the United States 77.3% of the population has
Internet access. Brazil has 36.2%, and China that has 31.6% of the population with Internet access.
Online interactive marketing would reach a large market share within the United States, but would
reach only a small portion of the population in China and Brazil. The recommendation would be to
look at other marketing options for those countries.
To reach customers in China and Brazil the best option would be direct marketing. Television
marketing is a form of direct marketing and although many may consider it an established form of
marketing, it still has potential to be used in new ways. One way to use television is to create
advertisements that make people start talking and thinking about the product. Another form of direct
marketing is direct mail marketing. Kudler can obtain a list of potential customers and send them
flyers promoting the product and explaining why the customer should try it. Kudler can also work

me, call is when God is wanting people to fulfill the purpose they have been given. They may happen
at same time, but it is also true for many people to have conversion and calling at the different times.
In my personal life, the conversion have happened when I found out that Christianity is unlike other
religions out there (Later found out how Christianity is actually relationship with God, not religion).

  • 2. It s Time to Privatize Social Security Essay Social Security was established as a promise to the people of continuation of income into retirement. Well the road to hell is often paved with good intentions, because that promise now has the country in economic uncertainty. The guarantee that workers will be taken care of in their old age if they paid their Social Security tax, is no longer guaranteed. If we don t come to a unanimous decision as to a plan of reform; financially our country is doomed. Social Security has always struck me as a socialist program. Returning to our capitalist roots is where we will find the solution to this problem. Privatizing Social Security offers solutions to our current problems, and empowers the people with ownership and a voice in their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The government has borrowed against this surplus, to pay for other government expenditures in the national budget, each year; and writing itself IOUs. By 2012 the government will have borrowed 3 trillion dollars from the trust funds (www.socialsecurityreform.org). The unexpected surplus is attributed to the entrance of baby boomers into the workforce. At the end of World War II mass numbers of soldiers were discharged from the military, and looking to start a family to make up for lost time. The population explosion this created is known as The Baby Boom . When the baby boomers entered the workforce, there were more people working and paying taxes than was needed to cover Social Security benefits. Thus, creating the surplus that we see today. Not all baby boomers had children, and the ones that did had fewer children than previous generations. When the baby boomers are ready to retire; there won t be enough workers to support promised benefits. In as early as 2012 it is estimated there will only be two workers paying taxes for every one recipient of Social Security benefits. At that time the surpluses generated each year will cease, and Social Security will begin to run a deficit (paying out more than it takes in). The government will then have to begin paying back the money borrowed from the trusts, plus interest. Since no money has been saved for this purpose, the government will be forced to increase the national debt, cut ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Angela Merkel Bürokratopoly Angela Merkel Is a great world leader, through overcoming her way of thinking. By growing up in Former East Germany (Angela Merkel s, 2015) before the wall fell under communist regime. Where she was being controlled in every aspect of life with harsh punishments if not followed to fullest extent; which I might include are not even imaginable by todays standards. Unlike the common board game Monopoly, the communist Germany played Bürokratopoly. (Leveille, 2014). This game is different to Monopoly for Monopoly is to get filthy rich, Bürokratopoly has a different tack. Money has absolutely no role in this game because money in the GDR didn t play any role (Leveille, 2014). GDR is dissidents in communist East Germany. What was really important ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This decision was very unprecedented and unexpected for the German culture is typically a light skinned race. With being dark skinned you were automatically assumed not to be German even if you were born and raise as German. With bringing in these Syrian refugees it was also a very dramatic change in the economy. For these people did not speak the language nor did they live the same way. Angela Merkel still decided to make this decision for the German population is aging too fast, so by bringing in these Syrian refugees it replenishes the population with new and younger people. Seeing why this decision makes sense is obvious at this time, but in 10 20 years the change will be understood (if these refugees are integrated into society). Since its not understood at this time it split the people into two categories: supporters and non supporters. Supporters would take the Syrian refugees in and care for them. Non supporters would not take them in, in fact they would burn down the building the refugees would be living in. It caused a lot of trouble, for seeing why they need the refugees would later be ... Horse Slaughter Persuasive Essay There are 9.2 million tame horses and an additional 47,329 wild horses in the United States, while only 2 million people own horses (Moss; Horses in the United States ). With that being said, it s safe to say that the United States has a surplus of horses. One of the most controversial solutions for the unwanted horses is slaughter. Horse slaughter has been around for decades, but due to changes in societal views, the topic has ignited controversy. In today s society, horses are being viewed as companion animals rather than livestock. The problem is that legally, horses are considered livestock and the laws for the treatment of companion animals versus livestock are very different (Winegar, The Horse Slaughter Debate: Solving the Puzzle ). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If the government were to care for the 100,000 unwanted horses per year, the total cost for one year would be $220 million (Gwinn). As an alternative for horse slaughter, groups are trying to educate the public. The HSUS decided to create The HSUS Complete Guide to Equine Care, which explains all of the responsibilities and price tags involved in owning a horse until the end of its life. They are also trying to spread the word about ways to get the full horse experience, without taking on the complete financial and physical responsibilities of owning a horse. Some of these experiences include leasing, volunteering, attending shows, local 4 H Horse and Pony Club events, or fostering rescue horses (Winegar, The Horse Slaughter Debate: Solving the Puzzle ) According to PETA, Horses are part of our heritage and don t deserve to be packed on trucks and cruelly transported to slaughter and strung up in front of other terrified and dying animals, the kindest options for other surplus horses is a rescue organization, sanctuaries with loving guardians (Winegar, The Horse Slaughter Debate: A Two Sided ... • 6. The Two Act Comic Opera Barbier Von Bagdad Haixu Liu Professor Rena C. Mueller History of European Opera Tuesday, December 9, 14 Barbier Von Bagdad The two act comic opera Barbier Von Bagdad is a two act opera composed by Peter Cornelius to a German Libretto by the composer in 1858. The libretto is based on two stories, The Tale of the Tailor and The Barber s Stories of his Six Brothers from The Arabian Nights, as commonly known as One Thousand and One Nights. This collection of Middle Eastern, Indian, and North and Western African stories of unknown date and authorship was written in 9th century, when the Arabs were rapidly expanding their territories and the influence of Islam. The stories in the collection praised the virtues from the Arabians standard and spread their value around the world. As one of the most well known Middle Eastern literature, One Thousand and One Nights has not only set the story of Barbier Von Bagdad in an exoticized world, but also fit into the German people s typical view of Arab, ensuring that the audience could easily accept the characters. The composer Peter Cornelius was born in mainz into a family with theatrical background. His career started off as an actor, but later Cornelius studied violin and learnt composition with Heinrich Esser in Berlin. In Cornelius early life, he was initially interested in literature, instead of music. This explained why he later became a prolific critic. In 1849, Cornelius accomplished his first libretto for a one act short comic opera. Even though ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Brand positioning is an important concept in the marketing strategy. It is at the heart of every strategy in the market. It is how a company or a brand s products and offerings are designed differently in a way that is placed uniquely in the mind of customers compared to competitors. We ve been experiencing a period of a changed photographic business sector. There was a considerable amount of questions after we opened our store in Dubai on whether we were turning into a luxurious brand. All things considered, our stores were very reminiscent of adornments stores. At the end, Leica stores are indicative of jewelry ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Many people cannot purchase a Leica in their early years. However, as their income rises by time, Leica products turn out to be more obtainable. Asaad (2016) wanted to show us how individuals actually save money just to get the Leica camera. Those people who see it really different than any other brand. There was a Philippian guy who each week passes by the Leica office Dubai and just look at the camera, try taking pictures with it, and gets motivated to save more money. He kept passing by the store for about two years until he had the chance to actually purchase it. Leica is a great investment. Investing in Leica is not a waste of money at all. On the other hand, you can sell it after ten years, and receive more than quadruple the price, said Asaad (2016). In addition when people become more aware about Leica products and that they are made in Germany by hand; they start to think fairly about the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The State Of The Texas Education Policy The current state of the Texas education policy is very complex and its roots can be traced all the way back to times were there was no equality in the public school system, we can even say it can be traced as far back to the state s split from Mexico. This was a very problematic situation that began to be reformed heavily starting in 1954. The legislations that passed to resolve this problem have morphed the Texas Public education policy into what it is today. It was because of the split from Mexico that Texas created the Constitution of the Republic of Texas, which included a clause in it that established a public school system, but it wasn t successful in achieving that goal until 1954 when a bill was passed. They were in charge of creating policies for Texas public education, choosing a budget, making rules for school accreditation, and being in control of agreements for supplying the public schools (i.e. textbooks). They also had the right to choose a commission of education, whom would serve for, four years and would become the chief executive officer for the TEA. While the Texas public school system may not be segregated now it took a lot of court cases to get there due to Texas past as a highly segregated state. While this is the route that Texas takes, the United States simply takes the route of creating acts such as Race and National Origin Discrimination. Desegregation has been a troubling issue in not only the Texas public school system but also the United States as a whole. However, they have had to two totally different ways to handle this situation. Under the Texas Constitution separation of races was not wronged. This all change after a very controversial court case, Plessy vs. Ferguson and continued to reform by way of court decisions. The Plessy vs. Ferguson case decided that facilities could be segregated, but they must be equal . Texas being the highly racist state that it was at the time found loopholes around this judgment. In the coming years everything from your refrigerator to your car will be networked together to collect data and simplify your life. However, in order for this future to come to fruition, the underlying infrastructure must be developed and refined. This infrastructure needs to be able to support the high volume of data that will be generated as well as the lossy channels over which that data will be communicated. The Internet of Things is still a new and upcoming technology and as such much of the state of the art still concerns itself with the development of the underlying protocols and architectures. One of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It can be used to connect 6LoWPAN networks directly to other networks and the Internet through an IP router. The 6LoWPAN protocol is designed for low power radio transmitter that have to operate over lossy channels. 6LoWPAN implements header compression to reduce the overhead needed to send an individual data packet. It is able to accomplish this by removing redundant header fields and using a compressed version of the routing address. To accommodate for the limited packet sizes, fragmentation and reassembly is required to transmit large packets. [2]The unique constraints of IoT networks also require a specialized network routing protocol. Currently the leading candidate is the RPL protocol. Typically, all sensor nodes in an IoT network are connected the root node via a multi hop path. The root node often serves as the data/network coordinator as well as a gateway to the Internet. For each root node a Destination Oriented Directed Acyclic Graph is used to optimize the path from any node back to the root node. This Graph is created by calculating shortest path to the root node that adheres to specific set of constraints. Some of these constraints might include: minimizing the number of hops, only using encrypted links, avoiding battery operated devices, etc. Once, the graph is created data can be forwarded along the graph to the root node [4].The CoAP protocol operates at the application layer and is similar to HTTP, but with ... It s no secret that blondes are given a bad name based on their physical appearance. The media has done a great deal of prolonging this idea into the brains of millions. Television shows and radio broadcasts are most commonly to blame for much of these blonde hair stereotypes. These media outlets have especially taken a certain comedic point of view for portraying the role of blondes in society. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Extensive media sources, as well as literary sources, have been notorious for establishing a certain stereotype of an individual based on physical appearance. This image centers on ones weight, height, hair color, and overall physical beauty. It is reported that these particular attributes may affect ones personal career. No one knows quite why this is the case, but there have been several studies that involve these works, linking whether there is a direct correlation with these results or if it comes down to a discriminative nature. Among some of the most interesting studies, are the ones that deal with bias in the workplace. According to a journal from Labour Economics, Blonde women with no work experience earn 6% 9% less than their non blonde counterparts (Dechter 2015). The findings show that blondes can have positive, as well as negative, effects in the workplace. The stronger negative effect of blonde hair color is commonly apparent in sales (Dechter 2015). This theory has proven to be true by the sheer presence of customer discrimination, thus showing a lack of blondes in the sales profession (Dechter 2015). Both negative and positive preferences for blondeness are in line with the prejudices of the blonde stereotype , which attributes a series of positive and negative characteristics to young blonde women but not to young blonde men (Dechter 2015). Based on a study in the UK in 2006, scientists analyzed 500 CEOs and discovered that blondes were very underrepresented compared to men and women with other hair colors (Dickinson 2012). A separate study done in 1996, concluded that after the subjects displayed headshots in their resume during a job interview, blondes were greatly undermined (Dickinson 2012). Before 900 AD smallpox and measles were easily interchangeable to many physicians. These two diseases possessed similar symptoms, such as fevers and rashes, making it very difficult to distinguish between them. It was not until the Persian physician, Rhazes Ar Raz Abmiz, that measles and smallpox were able to be clinically distinguished in 900 AD. Much later in 1751, Thomas Sydenham found further differentiating characteristics between the two diseases(Aufderheide, 202). However, while the patricians were awarded lands and gained more power after the kings were overthrown, there were disastrous results for the plebeians. There are many things that lead to the revolt, first, while the plebeians had the right to vote, they could not hold a political office, or sit in the Senate. The rule of the patricians proved to be as oppressive as the kingship had and the struggle began in earnest between the two classes. In the first book, the characters are made sure to represent the different characters description of the character, Spiegleman does it by dividing them into their ethnicity, the Jews shown as mice, the Germans as cats, and the Polish as pigs. Having done this Spiegleman created a different form to view the diversities of his characters by simply arranging the people through different types of human types that were categorized by that time by portraying the readers that the Jews who are viewed as the mice in this case are shown the weakest and subordinate, this enables much significance in the choice of characters. In the book you see that the Germans and Jews were starting to form a game of cat and mouse where the Germans start to bother the Jews ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 28. Communist Manifesto Essay The Communist Manifesto was built with intentions to serve as a program meant for the Communist party during its time of publishing. Karl Marx and Frederick Engels, philosopher and author (titled respectively), composed the document as a form of instruction for the followers of a new congress, which is known as The Second Congress . The duo worked tirelessly throughout the final months of the year 1847 and through January of 1848, only to have a modified adaptation of their original document published in February of 1848. The Communist Manifesto acted as a symbol of victory for the newcomers to the Communist party. The authors used the document to clarify the contradictions in between various social classes and to identify various injustices in between them. To ensure that their views and opinions of the Communist party were proliferated throughout as much of the continent of Europe as possible, Marx and Engels requested that editions be published in multiple languages for multiple understandings. Therefore, after the original German text was created and published, Danish, Polish, and Swedish translations ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 29. Walden And Transcendentalism Indeed, Henry David Thoreau s Walden is considered to be a classic in American literature after analyzing the themes and symbols it is apparent why this novel is so popular. My research of the novel focuses solely on the key elements to Walden. Which are transcendentalism and the symbolism constantly being repeated throughout the work. Specifically my research covers Thoreau s cabin, transcendentalism, and other symbolic references. Consequently, Thoreau s cabin is considered to be sacred ground amongst transcendentalists. The cabin is so sacred to them that they kept it around as a landmark. The cabin is a popular vacation spot for visitors, it is on exhibit accompanied by a statue of Thoreau. Undoubtedly transcendentalism is a key factor ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Thoreau s fascination with the ice industry is acute. He describes in detail the Irish icemen who arrive from Cambridge to cut, block, and haul away 10,000 tons of ice for use in city homes and fancy hotels. The ice cutters are the only group of people ever said to arrive at Walden Pond as one. They unavoidably represent society in miniature, with all the calculating abuse and terribly unfair treatments that Thoreau sees in the world at large. So, the labor of the icemen on Walden becomes a symbolic example of theargument of society and nature. Seemingly it would appear that society gets the upper hand, as the frozen pond is chopped up, deformed, and destroy ten thousand tons of its contents. But nature triumphs in the end, since less than twenty five percent of the ice ever reaches its destination, the rest melting and disappearing on the way and making its way back to Walden Pond. With this analysis, Thoreau hints that humankind s efforts to fully use (for profit) nature are without success (or without purpose), since nature regenerates itself on a far greater scale than humans could ever hope to affect, much less threaten. The icemen s mistreatment of Walden contrasts sharply with Thoreau s less money based, morepoem related use of it. In describing the rare magical and mysterious blue of ... • 30. Santa Clause Argument Santa Claus This passage presents a discussion about arguments concerning the existence of Santa Claus. This is an important debate for children everywhere because of the Christmas spirit that Santa Claus instills in them. The two positions argue whether or not Santa Claus exists or not. Both viewpoints have valid claims warranting consideration. For example, evidence indicates that Santa Claus is only imaginary. In contrast, opposing evidence suggests that he is real. While both sides of the issue have valid points, the claim that Santa Claus exists is the stronger supported, the position supported by a preponderance of the evidence cited in the passages. The most convincing and forceful reasons in support of this position are that he lives in a unseeable world, he is what brings joy to Christmas, and those who do not believe in him are only skeptics. Accordingly, these reasons and opposing viewpoints will be discussed next. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In support of this point, a great amount of the universe cannot be seen, and because of this, it is likely that Santa Claus lives in that portion of the universe. In addition, if this part of the universe is invisible, then there is no clout to the claim that he does not exist only because he cannot be seen. Consequently, this is evidence in support of the case that there is a Santa Claus. The second relevant point to make is support of the claim that Santa Claus does indeed exist is that he is what brings joy to Christmas. For example, if there were no Santa Clause, Christmas would be as normal a time of year as any. But, since Christmas is the most joyous and happy time of year, it proves that there is a difference here. Additionally, there would be a far less joy at Christmas if there was no Santa Claus. In short, the joy and festiveness of Christmas proves that there is a Santa ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The debate of conversion and call gave me some interesting thoughts, but I think those two things are different. For me, call is when God is wanting people to fulfill the purpose they have been given. They may happen at same time, but it is also true for many people to have conversion and calling at the different times. In my personal life, the conversion have happened when I found out that Christianity is unlike other religions out there (Later found out how Christianity is actually relationship with God, not religion). There was no calling for me as if I was in for the stand by position. The calling only came when I started to show interest in education through the high school life.
