Classroom Climate Of The Graph Show Hostility Or Distress...
The last two grids of the graph show hostility or distress regarding the caste identities. The second last
grid represents that around 11 percent (frequently and sometimes) students felt insulted or threatened
because of your (their) caste . This reflects that caste identities of student are prominent on the
campus. The last grid of the graph presents the most sensitive aspect of the campus climate. Around
39 (frequently and sometimes) respondents shared that they had tense, somewhat hostile,
uncomfortable interactions . The number is staggeringly high and it also indicates a greater concern
about environment on SPPU campus. On the basis of these numbers, it is evident that caste issues are
a significant concern of the campus climate and it can be interpreted that the lower caste students are
at the receiving end.
Discussion: The analysis is centered around students perception and experience about various
difference and inclusion issues on SPPU campus. However, campus climate of an institution includes
much more than students perception and experience in an environment. In the paper, few important
themes have been explored to represent an overview of SPPU campus climate. Findings of the
analysis indicate that student to student connection on and out of the campus is weak. Around more
than two third participants are dissatisfied with transportation, recreational facilities, and food
availability on the campus. One respondent shared that transportation and food is a

Religious Homosexual Oppression
Oppression based on race, sex and sexual orientation:
Over the past 150 years, there have been many groups who have sought the North American dream of
liberty and justice for all. Examples are:
• Americans African seeking an end to slavery.
• Women campaigning to get universal suffrage.
• And now, gays and lesbians are seeking the same equal rights and protections enjoyed by other
groups, including the right to marry.
This final conflict over homosexuality is a little different from the two conflicts based on race and
gender. Being an African American or a woman was never considered a crime. But being a sexually
active person with a homosexual orientation was, theoretically, a crime in 13 states until the middle of
2003. Being ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
1 They give far less emphasis to the findings of researchers. In this case, the findings of researchers
are generally rejected because they conflict with their interpretation of the Bible. Relying on their
interpretation of the Bible can be disastrous. Consider the debate over slavery in the mid 19th century.
In those days, some denominations enthusiastically quoted biblical passages to support the owning of
human slaves as pieces of property.
Liberals give far greater weight to the findings of scientific research, and are willing to abandon the
traditional interpretation of biblical passages in favor of new analyses which harmonize the Bible and
scientific discoveries. This also can be disastrous from time to time. Although science is inherently
self correcting, sometimes scientists develop theories which deviate wildly from reality, are
inaccurate, and cause harm. Always remember that one of the recipients of the Nobel Prize for
medicine was the physician who developed frontal lobotomies.
Typical conservative Protestant beliefs about homosexuality:
Conservative Christians generally believe that the Bible authors were inspired by God to write text
that is inerrant free of error. They often quote the Bible s seven passages often called clobber passages
which have traditionally been used to condemn homosexuality. They have generally concluded that
the Bible clearly and consistently condemns

Case Study Of Pvss
DISCUSSION
Since most institutions have limited experience with PVS, the data presented are useful because of the
large cohort of infants with primary PVS amassed for comparison. While the present data suggest that
primary PVS during infancy has a poor prognosis, lack of harmonized collection, entry criteria,
definitions, and surveillance protocols across studies limits interpretation. Given the large variability
and widely ranging heterogeneity of the studies from which the data were drawn, pooled results
should be interpreted with caution. However, the data help to identify sources of variability in results
across studies, represent the best available evidence for clinical care and family centered counseling,
and can be used to inform ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Echocardiography can underestimate the degree of PVS, because blood flow is redistributed toward
the less obstructed portions of the lung, resulting in decreased flow through the stenotic vein.81
Alternatively, the pulmonary veins may have been normal initially, and the stenosis developed over
time.3,5 While most studies continue to use echocardiography as the primary modality in the
diagnosis of PVS8, potential advantages of cardiac CT or MRI include better delineation of
pulmonary venous anatomy and blood flow distribution.79 To answer questions on the timing and
nature of disease progression, more uniform methods of diagnosis surveillance, with pre specified cut
off values for defining PVS, are needed.1,79,82
Evidence on longer term benefits of treatments for primary PVS is lacking.1,41,64,83 85 Poor
outcomes following intervention have led some health care providers to recommend against treatment,
particularly in the setting of multi vessel disease.86 While we observed no differences in outcomes
among infants with severe disease provided surgical intervention compared to those provided non
intervention/medical therapy, baseline heterogeneity among enrolled patients, marked variation in type
of intervention, and inconsistency in the completeness of data reported among studies, limit data
interpretations. Increased awareness and improvements in non invasive

Edward Theodore Gein
Edward Theodore Gein America s Most Infamous Murderer
Although tallying just two deaths, Ed Gein is one of America s most infamous murderers. His
notorious killings are remembered as being among the most perverse of any this century. His lunatic
atrocities were magnified by the number of victims who fell prey to his sick deeds and who also
fueled his numerous habits of cannibalism, necrophilia of women, and his obsession with the female
body, especially his mother, Augusta Gein. Although clearly guilty for the acts Gein committed,
psychiatrists were confident in their conclusion of his insanity. As is in many cases, Gein s birth of
insanity started in childhood.

In 1914 disgusted by the depravity (Taylor) of the town she decided to move the family to a 195 acre
farm deep in rural Wisconsin, where the family lived quietly for about 25 years. In 1940 George Gein
died, leaving Augusta with Henry, 38 and Ed, 34 who worked as handymen in nearby Plainfield to pay
the household bills. Henry would frequently bad mouth his mother within earshot of Ed, who
remained a stalwart devotee of the matriarch (Schechter 32). In May 1944 a fire broke out in the brush
near the Geins farm. When the fire department turned up, Ed said his brother was missing but he led
them directly to the spot where Henry lay, covered in soot. The police chose to ignore two marks on
the back of his head and put Henry s death down to him being asphyxiated by fumes as he fought the
fire. Whether Ed had anything to do with his brother s death remains a mystery to this day.
For a year Ed and his mother lived alone together in the big old farmhouse. While her health
deteriorated, Ed was ecstatic that he finally had his mother to himself; sometimes they would even
sleep in the same bed together. So when Augusta developed cancer and died on December 29, 1945
after a series of strokes Ed was devastated, and became increasingly deranged after her death. Gein
left several rooms in the house, those he most closely associated with his mother (such

Organizational Structure For Improving Hrm Effectiveness
Q1)
Organisation culture
Conceivable Means for Improving HRM Effectiveness
I say this in light I could call my own experience, and it makes sense that an individual in a position of
power can make significantly more insightful judgements on the worth and reasonableness of a part or
action in the event that they comprehend the anxieties, day by day issues, flow and intricacies of it.
Organizational Structure
Making of Rules to Govern Performance Rules should be indicated out speak to authority decisions
and exercises. These formal rules should be by and large unfaltering, intensive and viably got on. This
should supplant old structures, in which rules were either wiped out described or communicated
cryptically
Partition of Personal from Official Property and Rights Official property rights concerning for
instance machines or gadgets should have a spot with the work environment or division not the
officeholder. Singular property should be separated from power property.
Choice Based on Qualifications Officials are enrolled considering abilities, and are appointed, not
picked, to the working environment
Clear Career Paths Employment in the affiliations should be seen as a calling for powers. A power is a
full time agent, and imagines a profound established occupation
The managerial structure would to a more huge degree shield agents from subjective choices from
pioneers, and would possibly give a more unmistakable feeling that all is well with the

Escalation Procedure In The Workplace
In the workplace people have different skills, experience, strengths and weakness when dealing with
daily tasks, it is important for an organisation to become well aware of this and setup problem
escalation procedures to take advantage of employee knowledge to resolve them efficiently before
they cause interference with the business. An escalation procedure is a plan that can be carried out if
problems are too difficult for the lower level employee team to handle, the issue will then be sent to
the next level of staff on experience in steps until the error is fixed. A scenario in a college would be a
staff member having problems with a system that is continuously restarting and needs the assistance of
an apprentice to configure the problem

The Representation of Gender in Bond s Films Goldeneye and Goldfinger
There are two films in particular that I have chosen to look at that show how the representation of
gender in Bond movies has changed throughout the years. These two films are Goldeneye and
Goldfinger.
There are many reasons that the representation of gender has changed between these two films. The
most obvious being a change in society. The two films were made thirty one years apart. Women are
now accepted as being something more that just producing babies and being there to be slept with.
Between the Bond films Licensed to Kill and Goldeneye a lot of changes in characters were made.
This is due to a lot of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This demonstrates exactly how women s roles have changed.
We see Bond as a hero from the start of both Goldeneye and Goldfinger the difference being that in
the earlier film, Bond used the woman, who he is kissing as a shield to save himself from being shot.
This shows that he has a higher opinion of himself and complete disregard for women. It shows how
women are represented as being disposable.
In the later film Goldeneye Bond puts Natalias life first, when the train is about to blow up. This
shows how representation of gender has changed from the earlier film. Bond now sees Natalia as an
equal and wants to ensure that she is safe before himself.
Another example of how in the earlier films women were seen to be sex objects is when Bond is
talking to a pretty blond woman, but as soon as Felix comes arrives Bond slaps the woman on the
bottom and send her on her way declaring that she is no longer required because its mans talk.
In Goldfinger women are there for amusement, a trophy figure. Goldfinger himself demonstrates this
himself by paying Gill to be seen with him.
Goldeneye shows how women are more equal. Zenia Onatopp shows how women are being
represented. When racing with Bond she is equally as good. She challenges him and is very assertive.
Zenia is represented in the same way as the men from Goldfinger. (The men are all sat

Gloria Anzaldua Speaking In Tongue
There are many flaws in society that people have just accepted and decided not to fight for, but
oppressed female writers and nationalist groups have taken a stand against them. Author Gloria
Anzaldua expresses in her letter Speaking in Tongues: A Letter to Third World Women Writers, the
battles she has encountered as a Chicana, gay woman, the opinions she has of our world and how to
overcome the difficulties she and other third world women writers have experienced. Aside from her,
nationalist movements such as the Chicano and the Young Lords Movements were created to fight
against the social oppressions, Mexican Americans and Puerto Ricans, minority groups have had to

This can show a certain way of wanting to assimilate to something that already exists, which Anzaldua
would argue with. Anzaldua believes in women having their own voice, she is not looking to fit in the
world of the white writers society accepts, she is looking for others to accept her own writing and
accept the community she belongs to with the characteristics she identifies with. It all differs in the
way they act and how radical they want their effects to be. Analyzing Anzaldua s letter, one would
agree with the fact that her feeling of need is one more revolutionary that echoes that of the Young
Lords. She invites the mujeres de color, companions in writing (Anzaldua 165), to find the real voice
within them and to show it, not to work through what already exists but to create a new category
where they can all identify. Anzaldua invites her compañeras to not feel oppressed by those that are
accepted by society, to not let their own expectations condition them (166). The way Anzaldua fights
and argues on what she deserves, is seen in action with the nationalist movements who have pride of
their culture and themselves as human beings and want to be identified and accepted equally by the
American society and not just as the

Unit 3 Listening Assignment
Listening Assignment Each day I listen to hundreds of different conversations, songs, and lectures.
While I listen, I have also realized that I encounter a lot of other noise around me. Listening begins the
moment I wake up, and it does not end until the moment I go to sleep. While doing this listening log, I
learned a lot about how I listen and why I listen. The first day that I really began to pay attention to
what I listened to, I found out that I listen to a lot of things for enjoyment also known as appreciative
listening. It all started when I got woke up by roommate s alarm clock going off to the song It Girl.
Now, I do not know if I can completely consider this appreciative listening because I did not enjoy
getting woke up that much, but I do enjoy that song. At that moment, when the alarm went off, I had
no other noise surrounding me and this was the only time throughout the day that this occurred. I also
found myself listening to music as I drove to Nora Springs for my field experience class and ... Show

Before doing this log, I did not realize how much of this I did every day. Empathic listening occurred
in my days while doing this log when I listen to my roommates talk about if they were physically
hurting from a workout and how they hoped it would get better. These conversations occurred
typically while icing and we would discuss our pains and give each other the support that we needed
at the time. The other times when I caught myself empathic listening was when I was talking to
someone who was stressed out about school. It may just be that they are struggling in one class but I
listened to them because that is what they needed at the time. Again, from doing this log I learned that
empathic listening is crucial and every person needs someone to listen to them empathically. As the
listener you do not always have much input but just being there is typical all the person

During Palmisano s leadership Global Services became IBM s most profitable division and continues
to display tremendous growth potential. The division sells IT packages to organizations that include
software, hardware, as well as systems and software integration. To achieve the seamless integration
of systems IBM has made a major investment in open source technologies such as the Linux operating
system and grid computing. Linux is one of the world s fastest growing operating system. IBM is a
strong supporter of Linux as a way to promote open standards. Open standards allow the
interoperability of various applications, technologies, and computer devices, providing customers with
a wider choice and flexibility to deploy applications.2 The open source licensing of these technologies
allows IBM to develop upon their capabilities to suit the client s needs while eliminating the expense
of commercial products.
The recent inclination for corporations to downsize IT departments and reduce operation costs means
that IBM cannot rely on the sales of hardware and software for continued growth. Sam Palmisano s
vision for IBM s future success is contingent on the company becoming a provider of On Demand

Casti Connubai On Christian Marriage
1. Christ dignified chaste wedlock before the coming of Christ by establishing it as a form of
companionship between two people who will come together to have children. He designed this union
to be the foundation of society. Christ further dignified wedlock by taking the Church as His bride.
2. In Casti Connubii on Christian Marriage, Pope Pius XI lists two things men must do to obtain the
fruits of the sacrament of matrimony. The first is to be enlightened and fully understand Christ s true
doctrine regarding matrimony itself. The second is to still remain pure in their thoughts and actions in
order to obtain true peace and happiness for themselves and for their families .
3. a. The Pope sees a need to speak about the sanctity of marriage at this time because he saw that the
people of his day were beginning to forget the importance of a holy marriage. It especially applies
today with the leniency of how human intimacy is treated. Knowing this, the Pope spoke of it to
remind people the importance of a Holy Christian marriage. b. We know the Pope is teaching
infallibly here because he is re explaining a teaching already in practice. He doesn t add anything to
the core of the teaching, which is to avoid temptation in the context of human intimacy, by shows
specifically the temptations presented at that time in which the faithful should avoid. We can further
confirm that the Pope speaks infallibly because all teachings of the Pope come from God, and there
cannot be a fallible teaching from God Himself.
5. a. The point of Arcanum Divinae , as explained by Pope Pius XI, was to concentrate of matrimony
as a divine institution and it s sacramental and perpetual stability. He used this Encyclical specifically
as a reference and foundation for his own Encyclical. The only difference being that Arcanum Divinae
speaks of the spiritual aspects of the sacrament while the Casti Connubii speaks of both the
sacramental and the earthly systems and their effect on the lives of men. b. Man cannot change the
laws that strengthen marriage because such laws were not created by man. It is a fundamental doctrine
that the institution of matrimony and its laws were written by God. Since God is infallible, and

The Nature of Communism and Nazism Essay
Two totalitarian systems, Communism and Nazism were the two most frightening totalitarian political
systems in the history of mankind. They were the systems most brutal to its political adversaries but
also to its own people and other races and/or religions. Unfortunately our own country, Croatia faced

The Role Of International Monetary Fund And The World Bank...
Introduction
Considering the international organizations all could be a complex function in terms of the World
problems. This essay discusses the role of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank
positions in the World life. The essay will reflects the two organizations purposes, also provide an

success of the institutions.
Finding
International Monetary Fund (IMF) aims to maintain and defeat and sometimes to restrain the
financial crises. (BBC, 2012) Basically it was created to avoid another Great Depression with an
economical cooperation. It was founded more than 60 years ago at the end of the II World War.

Nowadays there are few purposes of the IMF such as monetary stability, exchange rate stability,
facilitate trade, help their members with balance the payment difficulties and also to help with the
poverty reduction. (International Monetary Fund, 2015)

One of the biggest rivals in European soccer history is the Glasgow Ranger versus Glasgow Celtics.

The Cause And Effects Of Desertification
Introduction
Desertification is the development of desert like conditions in regions that have experienced human
disturbance (Laura, n.d.). Drought, growing population and war are factors affecting desertification.
They have their tremendous impacts; however, they can be solved.
Causes
Drought is one of the most related factors to desertification. It is defined as a long period of time when
there is little or no rain. Drought can be caused by not receiving rain over a period of time. This is
because of climate change which has been affecting us badly since many decades. Moreover, humans
can be the cause too because they use too much water during times of normal rainfall which leads to
the immediate consequence that we might not have enough ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

It has been said that growing in population will lead to farming too little land because of crawling
buildings in grasslands. The growing population can cause destruction of grass lands and this can
cause desertification.
Drought and growing populations are not only the two causes of desertification but also there is a third
reason which is war. War happens due to many reasons such as economics, land, resources, religious
beliefs, and importantly power (Halo3Pro, 2011).
War contributes badly to cause desertification. People start eliminating themselves and leaving their
lands empty and dusty. A great example that supports this point is the radiation in Japan. When the
hydrogen bombs dropped on the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, thousands of people were
killed. Additionally, the bomb left disastrous environment in the surrounding areas. Chemicals and
poisons had destroyed everything including plants and the most fundamental gas for breathing which
is oxygen. Although war has massive destruction in many areas in the world which ends up with
causing desertification, Oman has been living in peace and it has not been through such

Marx s Theory Of Total Social Capital
Marx begins his analysis of capital accumulation and growth with the demarcation of capital into its
two constituent parts: constant and variable capital. The former pertains to the means of production
utilized (as determined by its mass), whereas the latter term applies to human labour power inputs of
production (and is accounted for by the aggregation of wages). The organic composition of capital was
then conceived to establish the ratio of constant (value composition) to variable (technical
composition) capital incorporated in production. In order to extrapolate the allocation capital of a
single firm across the entire economy, Marx devised the concept of total social capital. This term
refers to the average arrangements of capital in each sector of the economy, averaged across all
spheres of the economy. Capital inherently generates an annual surplus, which in turn influences the
level of variable capital employed. The surplus produced by capital is divided into revenue for the
capitalist or reinvested in production. This reallocation of surplus ultimately determines the degree of
accumulation (if more capital is reinvested, and less kept as revenue for consumption, then
accumulation will be higher). It also has an effect on wages and the demand and supply of labour (i.e.
components of variable capital). Supply increases absolutely, as does the demand for labour (if the
variable capital needed for the operation of constant capital is unaffected) and wages will grow if

Missionary Trip To America Research Paper
By attending the missionary trip to South Africa, I have touched the lives of many just as they have for
me in their own ways. However, they may not even realize that they have changed my life for the
better. Some touches are like a ripple in the water; blending and mixing to create a beautiful harmony.
Others are like a splash. They transform people s lives with grace, mercy, and forgiveness; they bring
people closer. When one thinks of a mission trip, what is the general assumed illustration? A group of
Christians reconstructing non believers into religious disciples? Churches being built so that
worshippers have someplace to go to interact with Christ? For me, a mission trip can be that or
something small, like we seemed to do while recently visiting Southern Africa. Visiting South Africa

What is the purpose of this when we can just read scriptures or listen to preachers from the comfort of

and for evangelism. Evangelism is all about spreading the gospel to the world, which the church helps
to do firsthand. The gospel has a lot of teachings, but they cannot all be summed up by the church. In

potassium iodide) to react fully with Peroxodisulphate ions (in potassium Peroxodisulphate). I will do
three sets of experiments changing first the concentration of iodide ions, then the concentration of
Peroxodisulphate ions and finally the temperature of the solution in which the reaction is taking place.
From these results, I hope to draw conclusions as to the effects of these changes to the environment of
the reaction on the rate and also determine the order of the reaction and the activation enthalpy.

Reaction between Iodine ions and peroxodisulphate ions
S2O82 (aq) + 2I (aq) #61664; 2SO42 (aq) + I2(aq)
In order to make the reaction clearer, during my experiment I will add starch and a small known
amount of sodium thiosulphate (to act as a queching agent). The thiosulphate ions turn iodine back to
iodine ions:
2S2O32 (aq) + I2(aq) #61664; S4O62 (aq) + 2I (aq)
Which means that no starch iodine colour will appear until all the thiosulphate has been used up. The
amount of time taken for this occur (and the reaction to suddenly turn blue) is the same amount of
time for the reaction to produce the equvilant amount of Iodine.

J. D. Salinger Biography
When The Catcher in the Rye author J.D. Salinger died five years ago, on Jan. 27 of 2010, TIME s
remembrance of his life noted that he had long been the hermit crab of American letters, dissatisfied
with his own fame and drawn to a reclusive life away from the spotlight.
In fact, when he was the subject of a lengthy cover story for TIME in 1961, shortly after the
publication of Franny and Zooey, he had already begun to recede into seclusion. Though the story is
rife with biographical details his IQ score was 104; he played a fair game of tennis ; he was literary

Computer Simulation And Computer Programming
A long time ago, when I used computer for the first time. I played a computer game called Logo in 3rd
grade, which inclined me towards computer. The first day we tried the program, we had trouble
actually moving the darned triangle on the screen. We were supposed to draw a geometric shape with
the little triangle character, which the teacher called a turtle . Movement was slow and unwieldy. We
took turns to type in step by step commands, such as rotate 90 or pen up . But the question is who was
drawing it, which fascinates me. The teacher answered it is microcomputers to draw beautiful, creative
art. The terms microcomputer, processors etc. made me crazy for computer. Few areas of my
education have stimulated me to think as much as my undergraduate courses in Discrete Structures,
Computer graphics, Neural networks, System Programming, Microprocessor, Compiler construction
and design, Artificial Intelligence, Algorithms design and analysis, Theory of Computation and
Computer Programming. Here are innovations that keep evolving not only technically but also hold
infinite scope for creativity and logic. I feel a similar sense of exhilaration when I see my own code
run successfully. It is this feeling, which till date, drives me to not give up on even the toughest of
problems. And it is this love for programming, combined with my desire to dig deeper into the
working of various applications and technologies, which propels me to apply for a Graduate Program

Soccer Persuasive Speech
The score is two two, down to the last minute. You run down the field passing defenders, you come to
the goal to kick the ball into the net, but out of nowhere someone slide tackles you from the side.
Nevertheless, the ref had seen the tackle so you go up to take the free kick, sweat is dripping down
your neck, fans are cheering, you run towards the ball and kick it, it flies past the goalie and into the
net, you have just won the World Cup! While there are many sports out there soccer is one of the best
sports. Besides being injured easily, soccer is the one of the greatest sport out there, inasmuch it keeps
you fit, it can be a cheap sport, and it helps bring people together. Undoubtedly, soccer is one of the
nicest sports to watch or even to play in. That is because the rules are super simple to understand.
Moreover, one of the most know rule is hands. Hands is what makes the game so differently amazing
from all the other games. Usually one uses their hands when they play a game, but in soccer one use
his feet/body (except hands) and more importantly their mind. Also to the rules one should know is
that in a full match of a soccer game there are 45 minute half s and 11 players on each team. Another

The Line Between Good And Evil In Philip Zimbardo s The...
Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn once said, The line between good and evil cuts through the heart of every
human being. Every indivdual has the decision between good and evil. Not every person will choose
the right side of the line. When an indivdual crosses over the line to the evil side this is known as The
Lucifer Effect. Philip Zimbardo, the individual that coined the idea, presented the ideas behind why
people change and turn evil even if though their whole life they were not known as an evil person.
According to Zimbardo, people turn evil for one of two reasons; The Lucifer Effect and the seven
social processes that grease the slippery slope of evil (TED Talks). Philip Zimbardo ran an experiment
at the time that he was a graduate teacher ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Images arose that showed how the guards had beaten and humiliated the prisoners there had control
over. The guards had shown no signs of evil tendencies perviously, so why did they do it? Later, after
the initial controvery, information came out saying that it possibly happened because the generals in
charge of the guards put pressure on them to get information out of the prisoners. This lead these
American heroes to perform unimaginably, horibble tortures towards the inmates (The American
Prospect). The second reason that Zimbardo gives for people turning evil is the seven social processes
that grease the slippery slope of evil (TED Talks). That phrase translates to seven thought processes
that lead a person to evils that they never thought they could. Mindlessly taking the first small step
expresses in words part of what Stanley Milgram ran an experiment to test. The first step of his
experiment involved shocking a learner with fifteen volts. Taking the first small step, in the case of
Milgram the first, harmless 15 volt shock, can lead to shocks that ended at 450 volts, a lethal shock.
Secondly, the dehumanization of others, when one experiences confrontation with other people they
see them as not having feelings as though they are their enemies. Continuing on into the de
individualization of self which translates to the power of anonymity.

Examples Of Moral Philosophy
Moral Philosophy is the rational study of the meaning and justification of moral claims. A moral claim
evaluates the rightness or wrongness of an action or a person s character . For example, stealing is
wrong claims that the act of stealing is wrong, and people should not be dishonest claims a character
trait (i.e. dishonesty) is wrong (Gert and Gert). Descriptively, morality refers to certain codes of
conduct put forward by a society or a group (such as a religion) or accepted by an individual for
his/her own behavior. Normatively, it refers to a code of conduct that, given specified conditions,
would be put forward by all rational persons. ( What Is Moral Philosophy? ).

to such theories. During my research, I came across the article The Nature of Morality and Moral
Theories in which I discovered excerpts of philosophical theories and based on this article, I will
briefly mention significant points of four theories. First and foremost, is the theory of Moral
Subjectivism, which implies that an individual s thoughts and feelings determine moral actions; as
oppose to a set of moral principles. Following, is the theory Ethical Egoism, which states that
determining right and wrong is in accordance with one s self interest. Also, that it is immoral to act
contrary to one s own self interest. Thirdly, some individuals agree that culture determines what
actions are morally right or wrong; and are advocates of Cultural Relativism. Their actions are not
guided by a list of moral rules or universal norms. Next, Virtue Ethics claim that right and wrong are
characterized in terms of acting in accordance with the traditional virtues; making a good person . (

Deaf Listening Analysis
Whether an individual is blind, deaf, or contain all of the five senses, every individual is capable of
listening. While a deaf person may not be able to physically perceive noise from their ears and turn the
noises into thoughtful consideration, or a blind individual not being able to see body gestures and
facial cues, everyone is able to be great listeners who can interpret, analyze, and give thoughtful
feedback to others. What makes someone a good listener? In the textbook Looking Out Looking In, A

Sociological Perspectives on the Family
Sociological Perspectives on the Family SOC101: Introduction to Sociology Instructor: Jeanette
Maxey August 15, 2011 Sociological Perspectives on the Family In the field of sociology, there are
numerous approaches sociologists reflect on when studying humankind s behavior. Sociologists argue
that no single theory is correct by itself; but to a certain extent, they draw on all of them for various
purposes. Sociologists vision the social world in diverse ways, meaning seeing the world as stable and
a continuing entity. Those who have this view contend they are impressed with the endurance of social
institutions such as family. Family is one of the most important aspects of what happens to us over the
life course. (Vissing, 2011) ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Thus, the individual is produced by society. From the functionalist perspective, one could conclude
that the individual s perspective is shaped by understanding their role, function and responsibility
within the family unit. Unity and progress are achieved when each individual understands, commits,
accepts responsibility and is accountable in their role. Discord and chaos are achieved when even one
member does not understand, will not commit or refuses to accept and function within their role. For
example, a father would be expected to be one who must provide and protect his family. This is based
on standards of expectations of what fathers are supposed to do and what fatherhood means in the
given society of which they belong. Individuals who adhere to functionalism would be rooted in their
functions, roles, and expectations that are expected of them. Social Change Functionalists believe
societal change is predictable and positive (Vissing, 2011). Social change within the family is planned
for and expected. Social change and interaction within the family is hoped for as a child grows. A
toddler learns to walk; children learn to dress themselves; and teens begin choosing their own music
and style of dress. By graduation they are almost autonomous. As long as children and parents agree
with the roles they are expected to fill, the family can

Computers And Its Impact On The Workplace
According to the U.S. Census Forty four million households, or 42 percent, had at least one member
who used the Internet at home in the 2000. Today, no doubt, even more family members in the United
States use computers. Most people are aware of the desktop computers which can be found in the
home and in the workplace. What are the different types of computers and what are their purposes?
Computers can be classified into three different categories of home computers, portable computers,
and business computers including workstations and super computers. First, what is a computer? While
the term computer can apply to virtually any device that has a microprocessor in it, most people think
of a computer as a device that receives input from the user through a mouse or keyboard, processes it
in some fashion and displays the result on a screen. Home computers are being used by children,
teenagers, and adults. The PC or personal computer is designed to be used by one person. The term,
Mac, is a PC, but most people link computers with Windows software such as Windows 98, Windows
2000, or Windows XP. A PC is actually a desktop that is designed to be used in one set location. Most
desktops offer more power, storage, and versatility for less than their portable brethren. Many desktop
computers are used at home and at work. Various types of software have been designed to meet
individual needs of the computer user. The use of home computers or PCs can be for various purposes

Baseball And Its Impact On Baseball
Baseball was introduced to America in the 1800s. As the game of baseball started to become popular,
many people became interested in the game. Baseball fanatics fell in love with the sport, but not
everyone could play. Racial discrimination found its way to baseball when the game was first
discovered and created many controversies that prevented many colored players from playing the
game because of their skin color. This could be part of the reason why in today s culture, you do not
see many black Americans playing the game of baseball. The steady decline in black Americans
playing baseball could also be contributed to other sports like basketball and football started to
become more popular and they just simply lost interest in baseball.
The integration of baseball all started in 1947 when the black community finally had access to the
game just like everyone else. This increased the numbers of black baseball athletes and, for a while,
everyone was happy especially since Jackie Robinson broke the color barrier in baseball and opened
the doors for other black players. The numbers then started to decline when football and basketball
started to become more prominent in America. Baseball was becoming an old and slow sport, while
basketball and football caught the attention of black athletes. Baseball has become a sport that
represents older America and because of the culture change people want something different like
basketball and football. When the culture changes, so do

The Total Economic Burden Of Pain
About 41% of American adults suffer from chronic pain. The total economic burden of pain in 2010 is
estimated to range from $560 to $635 billion. Of these, lost productivity alone cost between $299 to
$335 billion; which approximates the yearly cost of heart condition and exceeding the total cost of
cancer and diabetes. On a per person basis, the incremental cost of all US health care expenditures in
2010 is $8233, moderate and severe chronic pain accounted for $4516 (55% of total) and $7726.20
(93.8% of total) respectively (Gaskin et. al. 2012). American workers with neck or back pain costs

Effects Of Oppression On African American Teenagers
The factors of the effects of oppression in the lives of African American teenagers is the opposite of
the factors in which that would produce The American Dream . The restrictions and exclusions of the
government, history, and irrational mindsets has caused many African American teenagers to depend
on unorthodox alternatives for the use of spare time, making money, and the feeling of acceptance.
Oppression of African American teenagers has caused poor education, violence, gang activity, broken
or dysfunctional homes, and health issues. Hatred is another major factor of the effects of oppression
in the lives of African American teenagers. Oppression is also the cause of civil wars, and a disunited
nation. Oppression doesn t just effect the oppressed, it effects everything around it including the
oppressors. Due to the discrimination of African Americans, and oppression resulting from it, the
government, justice system, educational system, and society has made it clear that African American
teenagers obtaining a thorough and effective education is the least of their concerns. It is almost as

Mobile Cloud Technology And Technology
Abstract the great emergence of mobile cloud computing has gained lots of interest in these recent
years. Mobile cloud computing consists of mobile devices and cloud computing offering mobile cloud
environment by using a huge number of different mobile devices. Any device uses mobility such as
laptops, tablets, and smart phones is considered as a mobile device. Due to the great improvement of
wireless networks like 4G and the expansion of use of mobile device, many researchers are interested
to provide different methods to use mobile resources for distributed processes to compute many
applications in mobile cloud environment. Although the last mobile devices have improved processing
power, there are some limitations in power capacity, unpredictable network conditions, and
connections availability that must be considered in order to use mobile devices as resource. These
dynamic changes may disconnect a mobile device from the cloud computing and then prevent
applications from completion. In other words, these problems may cause a system to fault more
frequently due to these changes. Therefore, in order to increase the stability of these devices, there
should be a monitoring technique to tolerate system faults. In this paper, we focus on Markov Chain,
which precisely collects and analyzes the information of states and proactively predicts the status of
future state in order to solve the volatility and instability of mobile devices. Also, we study two fault
tolerant methods,

Rooibos tea is a highly consumed hot beverage by many worldwide for its sweet flavor and great
aroma. The tea is prepared from a South African endemic plant Aspalathin linearis. The escalation of
Rooibos consumption over the years paralleled the rise of consumer concerns of the importance of
food and beverages in prevention of health threats and diseases (Joubert et al., 2013). The study by

Many motorcycle accidents occur from year to year. Recent statistics showed that approximately
4,500 motorcycle accidents occur every year. That alarming rate should prompt motorcycle riders to

Motorcycle insurance covers the rider and other people on the road. States require motorcycle owners

someone who is not the motorcycle driver. A rider can purchase additional insurance that will cover

Case Herman Miller
Introduction
Herman Miller is an American company that was founded in 1905 in Zeeland, Michigan as the Star
Furniture Co. They are the major American company of office furniture and equipment. In 1919 Dirk
Jan De Pree became the president of the company and renamed the company The Michigan Star
Furniture Co. Then Dirk and his father Herman Miller buy 51% of the company in 1923 and renamed
Herman Miller Furniture Company, and in 1960 became Herman Miller Inc.
They started selling quality furniture, bedrooms and other things made of wood but in 1930 because of

But in the long term the distribution channels would be clear and without interferences again. Also it
would be possible to have a clear marketing direction and therefore planning is possible again in the
future without interferences of the different distributors with each others. That would practicably mean
that Vreni should decide to get out of the contract of Asal Products, Inc. even when there would be
legal problems. Moreover, the business relationships to this company could be worsened in the long
run.
Another alternative should be to create a plant in Europe so now they don t have top ay all the taxes
they have to pay so they can export their products, in that way they will be able to give better prices to
their clients, and they will supposed to have a better service and more quality because they where the
pioneers in those products.
The last alternative could be to create a better marketing about their products, to compare their brand
with the competition so the market can understand that the differences between prices is because of
the good quality, the brand name, the knowledge, and that they are the only ones, the expert ones on
those kind of products.
Finally we think that a great alternative also could be to open a new market, for example if the
competitors are taking some of the market that they used to have when they

PC Vs Mac Essay
When purchasing a personal computer, buyers used to grapple with the decision: a Macintosh from
Apple Computer or a Microsoft based PC?
Microsoft effectively won that operating system debate years ago and claims more than 90% of the PC
operating system market.
But in the push to legally sell digital music, Apple and Microsoft, and their incompatible file formats,
are at it again. Consumers are in the position of having to choose as hardware makers line up behind
either Microsoft or Apple s software format.
Hewlett Packard s recent surprise decision to snub longtime PC partner Microsoft and offer Apple
music software on its PCs shows how unpredictable this battle may be.
Microsoft lost the first round of the digital music war, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
H P will sell Apple s iPod under its own name and use Apple s iTunes music software on PCs
beginning this summer. In announcing the alliance, H P CEO Carly Fiorina said it had been working
on developing its own portable music player, but concluded that Apple s iPod . . . and iTunes . . . were
the best.
Despite the hoopla for the H P/Apple deal, Microsoft says its momentum hasn t slowed. You ll
continue to see more (music) stores coming out in Windows Media, says Dave Fester, general
manager of Microsoft s Windows Media division. Just Monday, Coca Cola in Europe opened a new
Windows Media based online store. Others are in the works, including Microsoft s own.
The battle takes shape
Last year, Microsoft signed up company after company (including Wal Mart, Musicmatch and Best
Buy) to sell digital music in the Windows Media format. It clearly had the companies on its side even
while Apple was winning the heart of consumers.
Apple effectively kick started the legitimate digital music business last April with the introduction of
the iTunes Music Store. Originally just for Mac users, Apple opened it to Windows users in October.
Apple now claims sales of 30 million songs and a 70% market share.
Apple s iTunes success was helped by the smash success of the iPod. Some 735,000 were sold in the
last quarter alone, and 2 million to date. Microsoft says there are 4 million portable devices that can
play Windows Media including units from Dell, Creative

  • 2. Classroom Climate Of The Graph Show Hostility Or Distress... The last two grids of the graph show hostility or distress regarding the caste identities. The second last grid represents that around 11 percent (frequently and sometimes) students felt insulted or threatened because of your (their) caste . This reflects that caste identities of student are prominent on the campus. The last grid of the graph presents the most sensitive aspect of the campus climate. Around 39 (frequently and sometimes) respondents shared that they had tense, somewhat hostile, uncomfortable interactions . The number is staggeringly high and it also indicates a greater concern about environment on SPPU campus. On the basis of these numbers, it is evident that caste issues are a significant concern of the campus climate and it can be interpreted that the lower caste students are at the receiving end. • 3. Religious Homosexual Oppression Oppression based on race, sex and sexual orientation: Over the past 150 years, there have been many groups who have sought the North American dream of liberty and justice for all. Examples are: • Americans African seeking an end to slavery. • Women campaigning to get universal suffrage. • And now, gays and lesbians are seeking the same equal rights and protections enjoyed by other groups, including the right to marry. This final conflict over homosexuality is a little different from the two conflicts based on race and gender. Being an African American or a woman was never considered a crime. In this case, the findings of researchers are generally rejected because they conflict with their interpretation of the Bible. Relying on their interpretation of the Bible can be disastrous. Consider the debate over slavery in the mid 19th century. In those days, some denominations enthusiastically quoted biblical passages to support the owning of human slaves as pieces of property. Liberals give far greater weight to the findings of scientific research, and are willing to abandon the traditional interpretation of biblical passages in favor of new analyses which harmonize the Bible and scientific discoveries. This also can be disastrous from time to time. Although science is inherently self correcting, sometimes scientists develop theories which deviate wildly from reality, are inaccurate, and cause harm. Always remember that one of the recipients of the Nobel Prize for medicine was the physician who developed frontal lobotomies. His notorious killings are remembered as being among the most perverse of any this century. Henry would frequently bad mouth his mother within earshot of Ed, who remained a stalwart devotee of the matriarch (Schechter 32). In May 1944 a fire broke out in the brush near the Geins farm. When the fire department turned up, Ed said his brother was missing but he led them directly to the spot where Henry lay, covered in soot. The police chose to ignore two marks on the back of his head and put Henry s death down to him being asphyxiated by fumes as he fought the fire. • 12. Casti Connubai On Christian Marriage 1. Christ dignified chaste wedlock before the coming of Christ by establishing it as a form of companionship between two people who will come together to have children. He designed this union to be the foundation of society. Christ further dignified wedlock by taking the Church as His bride. 2. In Casti Connubii on Christian Marriage, Pope Pius XI lists two things men must do to obtain the fruits of the sacrament of matrimony. The first is to be enlightened and fully understand Christ s true doctrine regarding matrimony itself. The second is to still remain pure in their thoughts and actions in order to obtain true peace and happiness for themselves and for their families . 3. a. The Pope sees a need to speak about the sanctity of marriage at this time because he saw that the people of his day were beginning to forget the importance of a holy marriage. It especially applies today with the leniency of how human intimacy is treated. Knowing this, the Pope spoke of it to remind people the importance of a Holy Christian marriage. b. We know the Pope is teaching infallibly here because he is re explaining a teaching already in practice. He doesn t add anything to the core of the teaching, which is to avoid temptation in the context of human intimacy, by shows specifically the temptations presented at that time in which the faithful should avoid. We can further confirm that the Pope speaks infallibly because all teachings of the Pope come from God, and there cannot be a fallible teaching from God Himself. 5. a. The point of Arcanum Divinae , as explained by Pope Pius XI, was to concentrate of matrimony as a divine institution and it s sacramental and perpetual stability. He used this Encyclical specifically as a reference and foundation for his own Encyclical. The only difference being that Arcanum Divinae speaks of the spiritual aspects of the sacrament while the Casti Connubii speaks of both the sacramental and the earthly systems and their effect on the lives of men. b. Man cannot change the laws that strengthen marriage because such laws were not created by man. It is a fundamental doctrine that the institution of matrimony and its laws were written by God. • 18. Marx s Theory Of Total Social Capital Marx begins his analysis of capital accumulation and growth with the demarcation of capital into its two constituent parts: constant and variable capital. The former pertains to the means of production utilized (as determined by its mass), whereas the latter term applies to human labour power inputs of production (and is accounted for by the aggregation of wages). The organic composition of capital was then conceived to establish the ratio of constant (value composition) to variable (technical composition) capital incorporated in production. In order to extrapolate the allocation capital of a single firm across the entire economy, Marx devised the concept of total social capital. This term refers to the average arrangements of capital in each sector of the economy, averaged across all spheres of the economy. Capital inherently generates an annual surplus, which in turn influences the level of variable capital employed. The surplus produced by capital is divided into revenue for the capitalist or reinvested in production. This reallocation of surplus ultimately determines the degree of accumulation (if more capital is reinvested, and less kept as revenue for consumption, then accumulation will be higher). It also has an effect on wages and the demand and supply of labour (i.e. components of variable capital). Supply increases absolutely, as does the demand for labour (if the variable capital needed for the operation of constant capital is unaffected) and wages will grow if ... The first day we tried the program, we had trouble actually moving the darned triangle on the screen. We were supposed to draw a geometric shape with the little triangle character, which the teacher called a turtle . Movement was slow and unwieldy. We took turns to type in step by step commands, such as rotate 90 or pen up . But the question is who was drawing it, which fascinates me. The teacher answered it is microcomputers to draw beautiful, creative art. The terms microcomputer, processors etc. made me crazy for computer. Few areas of my education have stimulated me to think as much as my undergraduate courses in Discrete Structures, Computer graphics, Neural networks, System Programming, Microprocessor, Compiler construction and design, Artificial Intelligence, Algorithms design and analysis, Theory of Computation and Computer Programming. Here are innovations that keep evolving not only technically but also hold infinite scope for creativity and logic. I feel a similar sense of exhilaration when I see my own code run successfully. It is this feeling, which till date, drives me to not give up on even the toughest of problems. • 27. The Line Between Good And Evil In Philip Zimbardo s The... Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn once said, The line between good and evil cuts through the heart of every human being. Every indivdual has the decision between good and evil. Not every person will choose the right side of the line. When an indivdual crosses over the line to the evil side this is known as The Lucifer Effect. Philip Zimbardo, the individual that coined the idea, presented the ideas behind why people change and turn evil even if though their whole life they were not known as an evil person. According to Zimbardo, people turn evil for one of two reasons; The Lucifer Effect and the seven social processes that grease the slippery slope of evil (TED Talks). Images arose that showed how the guards had beaten and humiliated the prisoners there had control over. The guards had shown no signs of evil tendencies perviously, so why did they do it? Later, after the initial controvery, information came out saying that it possibly happened because the generals in charge of the guards put pressure on them to get information out of the prisoners. This lead these American heroes to perform unimaginably, horibble tortures towards the inmates (The American Prospect). The second reason that Zimbardo gives for people turning evil is the seven social processes that grease the slippery slope of evil (TED Talks). That phrase translates to seven thought processes that lead a person to evils that they never thought they could. Mindlessly taking the first small step expresses in words part of what Stanley Milgram ran an experiment to test. The first step of his experiment involved shocking a learner with fifteen volts. Taking the first small step, in the case of Milgram the first, harmless 15 volt shock, can lead to shocks that ended at 450 volts, a lethal shock. Sociological Perspectives on the Family Sociological Perspectives on the Family SOC101: Introduction to Sociology Instructor: Jeanette Maxey August 15, 2011 Sociological Perspectives on the Family In the field of sociology, there are numerous approaches sociologists reflect on when studying humankind s behavior. Sociologists argue that no single theory is correct by itself; but to a certain extent, they draw on all of them for various purposes. Sociologists vision the social world in diverse ways, meaning seeing the world as stable and a continuing entity. Those who have this view contend they are impressed with the endurance of social institutions such as family. Family is one of the most important aspects of what happens to us over the life course. From the functionalist perspective, one could conclude that the individual s perspective is shaped by understanding their role, function and responsibility within the family unit. Unity and progress are achieved when each individual understands, commits, accepts responsibility and is accountable in their role. Discord and chaos are achieved when even one member does not understand, will not commit or refuses to accept and function within their role. For example, a father would be expected to be one who must provide and protect his family. This is based on standards of expectations of what fathers are supposed to do and what fatherhood means in the given society of which they belong. Individuals who adhere to functionalism would be rooted in their functions, roles, and expectations that are expected of them. Social Change Functionalists believe societal change is predictable and positive (Vissing, 2011). Social change within the family is planned for and expected. Social change and interaction within the family is hoped for as a child grows. • 32. Baseball And Its Impact On Baseball Baseball was introduced to America in the 1800s. As the game of baseball started to become popular, many people became interested in the game. Baseball fanatics fell in love with the sport, but not everyone could play. Racial discrimination found its way to baseball when the game was first discovered and created many controversies that prevented many colored players from playing the game because of their skin color. This could be part of the reason why in today s culture, you do not see many black Americans playing the game of baseball. The steady decline in black Americans playing baseball could also be contributed to other sports like basketball and football started to become more popular and they just simply lost interest in baseball. The integration of baseball all started in 1947 when the black community finally had access to the game just like everyone else. This increased the numbers of black baseball athletes and, for a while, everyone was happy especially since Jackie Robinson broke the color barrier in baseball and opened the doors for other black players. The numbers then started to decline when football and basketball started to become more prominent in America. Baseball was becoming an old and slow sport, while basketball and football caught the attention of black athletes. Baseball has become a sport that represents older America and because of the culture change people want something different like basketball and football. When the culture changes, so do ... Mobile cloud computing consists of mobile devices and cloud computing offering mobile cloud environment by using a huge number of different mobile devices. Any device uses mobility such as laptops, tablets, and smart phones is considered as a mobile device. Due to the great improvement of wireless networks like 4G and the expansion of use of mobile device, many researchers are interested to provide different methods to use mobile resources for distributed processes to compute many applications in mobile cloud environment. Although the last mobile devices have improved processing power, there are some limitations in power capacity, unpredictable network conditions, and connections availability that must be considered in order to use mobile devices as resource. These dynamic changes may disconnect a mobile device from the cloud computing and then prevent applications from completion. In other words, these problems may cause a system to fault more frequently due to these changes. Therefore, in order to increase the stability of these devices, there should be a monitoring technique to tolerate system faults. In this paper, we focus on Markov Chain, which precisely collects and analyzes the information of states and proactively predicts the status of future state in order to solve the volatility and instability of mobile devices.
