The goals of all these articles seems to be getting the general public interested in the education of our
youth to help them achieve more in life. Each article presents the problem and follows the steps to
develop a solution. These possible solutions serve as the final agenda that The Houston Chronicle
hopes the reader will think about and develop an opinion of.
As the general public reads these articles there are three primary outcomes that they could have:
support, disinterest, or opposition. In Fikac s article covering Davis plan for increased education
spending we see the two extreme points of view. Davis with the support of the Democrat party
supports increased incentives for qualified students to enter the field of education along with increased
pay to teachers who are getting the desired results all while hopefully not increasing the current tax
rate. The Republicans argue that Davis math makes little sense and that it is not possible to spend

In the United States 1.7% of women aged 15 44 have an abortion ( Induced Abortion in the United
States ). Twenty one percent of all pregnancies end in abortion ( Induced Abortion in the United States
). Women most commonly have abortions before the end of her first trimester, twelve weeks into the
pregnancy, however, abortions may also be performed after the first trimester. Abortions are quite
common, but they also lead to numerous issues for the parents such as regret, depression, drug abuse
and even suicide. The parent s choice of abortion has lasting physical and psychological effects on the
parents of the aborted child, even years after the abortion process.
The abortion process has changed in numerous ways during the last two centuries. Abortion was once
illegal, then it changed to be legal. Throughout the process of legalization, it changed in many ways.

I chose the constellation of Pisces. This is because it is my Zodiac sign and I wanted to learn more
about it. The Pisces constellation is found in the Northern Hemisphere and was introduced in the 2nd
Century by Ptolemy, a Greek astronomer. It is usually portrayed as two fish, connected at the tails by
string, swimming in opposite directions.
The myth surrounding the Pisces constellation can be found in Greek mythology. According to the
