The term friendship is defined as a mutual strand of affection between two or more people. It is a

(NPL) ratio for financial institutions, resulting in a serious erosion of profit, and causing a chain
reaction of bankruptcy and escalated financial crisis. The century old Lehman Brothers declared
bankruptcy in 2008 which caused a domino effect, not only hitting the U.S. economy, but also
triggering a global financial tsunami. Such disaster may be explained by the fact that banks recently

I did not like the cubby hangers because it seemed to be very messy and some students are not very

Abstract A review of the main technologies currently available to produce wines with lower alcohol
(ethanol) levels was undertaken. These comprise technologies to reduce the initial sugar levels in the
grape juice; yeasts to produce less alcohol by diverting sugar metabolism to glycerol production; and
post fermentation technologies to remove some all of the alcohol from the wine. Some of the legal
issues around alcohol taxation and wine labelling are outlined, particularly those affecting export. The
major technologies are discussed, along with their limitations, particularly with regard to the effects
on sensory attributes (aroma and flavour). The potential for yeast strains with lower conversion
efficiencies is outlined, both for selected strains, for non Saccharomyces cerevisiae yeasts, and for

There is a major difference between the two; in the book we are unaware of where Nick is telling the
story from, but in the film he is writing the story in a sanitarium. This speaks volumes about Nick s
mental state after leaving Long Island and all of the palaver surrounding it. Nick intended to reach the

drive the punctuated equilibrium, so that we might predict punctuation in the future. To this end, I

The seasons in the poem also can be seen as symbols of time passing in her life. Saying that in the
height of her life she was much in love and knew what love was she says this all with four words
summer sang in me. And as her life is in decline her lovers left her, this can be told by using winter as

My Art Museum Experience
1. Have you ever attended a major art museum like the DIA before? Yes I have attended DIA back in 7
or 8 grade with Port Huron School District.
2. How long did you explore the DIA? My Husband and I were in there from 10:30am to around 2pm
that day.
3. What time period, movement or artist captivated your interest? My husband and I really like the
artwork from 1800 s for the most part. At lot of painting we like were of landscapes or of animals. My
grandmother used to paint for a living. Nothing famous, but all of her paintings are of landscapes.
Share with others AT LEAST ONE thing that you learned during your visit related to the museum
experience and the art that you observed. I looked up more about Chevy by Edwin Henry Landseer; he
painted animal; particularly horses, dogs and stags. Learned that Queen Victoria commissioned several
pictures from the Edwin and enjoyed his paintings. She even had him painted her family pets. Even in
the 1800 s people want portraits of her loyal pets. I have so many people asking me for professionals
pictures of their family pets, but even in the 1800 those who could afford it want pictures of them in
paintings as well. I learn there s so many forms of artwork and really if you look anywhere there s all
different forms of artwork.

of their dramatic significance and contributions to the development of Ola Rotimi s drama. Three
aspects of dramatic significance are identified in this paper and we argue that the sick: (1) act as
witness and help the healthy establish truth, (2) create crisis situations that stir up diverse emotions in
the audience, and finally, (3) heighten dramatic tension which boosts the degree of suspense in the

Examining W.E.B. Dubois novel Dark Princess, the characters of Sammy Scott and Sara Andrews
exemplify individualism completely. The honorable Sammy Scott was a leading black politician in
Chicago. Dubois described Sammy s beginnings: ...in 1910 by selling the right to gamble, keep houses
of prostitution, and commit petty theft, to certain men, white and black, who paid him in cash (Dubois,
pg. 82). Sammy is completely corrupt, wanting power and money for himself. He misses his
opportunity as a politician to help his district, make positive changes that could improve the lives of
the black people all around him. Instead he chooses to be a gangster, promoting gambling and
prostitution, and maintaining a criminal undertone in Chicago. Sara Andrews was equally calculating.
Dubois describes Sara on page 84 as having a good intellect without moral scruples and a clear idea of
the communal and social value of virginity, respectability, and good clothes . Dubois is saying she is
cunning, and in tune with what is expected in society. She knows what she needs to do to be
successful, and like Sammy, she wants all of the power for herself. Sammy and Sara both lived a dog
eat dog existence, and were willing to sacrifice others on their way to the top. It is important to note
that Dubois recognized individualism as a major obstacle for racial progress, and Sammy and Sara
demonstrated the issues stemming from individualism in Dark Princess. Unfortunately, others failed to
capitalize on Dubois foresight. Today there is an equal lack of cohesiveness amongst African
Americans, due to varying socioeconomic levels. At the time of civil rights, a black middle class was

Both Mary Shelley s Frankenstein and Judith Guest s Ordinary People display the consistent theme of
abandonment by guardians. Both protagonists, the Creature and Conrad, experience rejection from
their parents and constantly try to search for love and attention in different aspects of society since
they unfortunately can not receive it from their parents. Given that no individual wants to associate
with the Creature, he becomes immorally and seeks revenge on the entire human race for not

Beth s nonchalant attitude towards Conrad becomes increasingly obvious and begins to really frustrate
