Consumer Spending In The United States
American s are known for spending the money they do not have. Most people in the United States are
consumers that is the reason why Walmart is so successful. In August many people spent more money
than usual as personal spending, consumer consumption, and household consumption. People tend to
spend more money when supply decreases and therefore their demand increases. Many of these
individuals do not see the real expenditures they are making. These are the reasons why in August
household spending rose: First, personal spending which includes health care amongst other things,
advanced 0.4% in August (Sparshott, 2015). Credit cards may not be an ally for an individual because
they tend to swipe the card and end up with a big bill. Next, consumer spending may be influence by
the final sales every store in the U.S. presents. At the end, one spent more than expected. Consumer
spending may be a good thing for GDP but not for the individual. Many people need counseling on
how to spend their money because on the long term it may cause a decline on the economy. ... Show

Americans do not believe that you can spend a lot of many on grocery. Many families tend to buy
more grocery than the necessary. Household consumption needs to be measure because although you
may not believe many barrels of money may be drawn through the kitchen. The increase in household
spending are just temporary factors because they can be regulated. People need to be more aware and
rational when it comes to spending money. Government should encourage people to save money for
their future. Also, educate their children on the importance of savings so they can be great
administrators of money. There are many programs in existence to regulate household spending. Let s

Becoming A Baseball Player Essay
The occupation of a baseball player is very rewarding. The job is very mentally stressful but people do
it for the love of the sport. People make great money off the sport which provides them with luxurious
lifestyles. Becoming a professional baseball player is an excellent career choice because Baseball
players influence people of all ages, especially young athletes starting the sport.
In the life of being a professional baseball players there is endless physical and mental training that
goes into a days of work. On the website it states Baseball players deal with weekend and evening
work, lots of travel and a great deal of physical stress. If you re playing pro ball, you also have to deal

This explains how you don t really need and education to play the sport Major league sports is one of
the few areas remaining in American life where a college education is of little importance and won t
determine whether you qualify for the job or how much money you make. In fact, acquiring a college
degree could reduce your earnings because all athletes have a limited number of peak earning years,
and getting a BA takes up four of them. in this quote it also explains that people who go to college
lose their peak earning years because getting a degree can take 2 4 years. Which already takes those
years when a person is at their physical best. The education process to make it in the mlb is not a
deciding factor to weather a person makes it or doesnt. The player needs to be in great physical shape
and have great coordination training will improve a players skills if they train hard everyday. The
game of baseball is more mental than anything else players need to know what is going to happen
before the ball is even in play. Training needed is a big deciding factor on who makes the team or not
because they are going to pick a person with more training over more education all day long. This
explains the training involved in being a pro baseball player. As a professional baseball player
includes practices, fitness training sessions and games,

The Importance Of The Cochlear Implants
The cochlear implant is quite possibly one of the greatest ideas invented to benefit the deaf
community. American Sign Language (ASL) has been the main way the deaf communicate and is
extremely important to the deaf culture. To those that can hear, being deaf or profoundly hard of
hearing has been considered a handicap. It was for that reason that someone invented the cochlear
implant, causing a huge debate within the deaf community. Some of those in the deaf community fear
that their culture will be lost and destroyed, while others and the hearing community believe that it
will better their lives. Most do not realize that this procedure is not a cure and that it will leave those
with the implants confused as to where they belong in society. There are quite a few who believe the
cochlear implants work just like the hearing aid, only implanted in their head. However, there are
significant differences between the two. Cochlear implants do not restore normal hearing, whereas the
use of hearing aids can bring it close to normal. Hearing aids send amplified sound to the damaged
cochlea, and can be programmed to shape amplification of sound to match the hearing loss. Hearing
aids are very limited in their ability to aid severe and profound hearing loss beyond environmental
sound and vowels in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Cochlear implants are made up of four different parts: microphone, speech processor, transmitter

Participants are judged on a range of areas depending on what category their presentation is in. The
categories range from a number of FCS related areas and values. Members are graded on one to five
points in every area on the judge s rubric sheet and recieve feedback for state. The judge sheet totally
depends on the category. The judge sheet is literally aligned with the criteria of the event. Sometimes
the event will have a portfolio component of it, so the judges will actually grade and rate their
portfolio, so that s kind of like the background research and planning and the reflection piece. Then
they have specific criteria to go off of of the actual event they did, FCCLA sponsor Mallory Gregory
said. FCCLA members were given the option to design a STAR project at the start of the school year

Wipro, the third largest player in the Indian Information Technology (IT) industry, had traditionally
focused on investment banking in the Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance (BFSI) vertical, and
on the telecom sector. Both these segments had reportedly taken a beating in recent years.
While the investment banking segment had reported muted growth, the fact that clients in the
telecommunications sector, especially in Europe, were reducing their technology spend had also
negatively impacted Wipro s performance. In addition to this, the company s dual CEO structure
adopted in April 2008 did not yield the expected results. This, according to analysts, was because the
two CEOs Girish Paranjpe (Paranjpe) and Suresh Vaswani (Vaswani) did not focus on key segments
that helped Indian IT companies recover growth post the global financial crisis 10.
Thus, Wipro lagged behind its peers such as TCS and Infosys.
To arrest the decline in sales and profitability, Wipro s founder and executive chairman, Azim
Hasham Premji (Premji), scrapped the dual CEO structure in January 2011, to make way for company
veteran and head of the Eco Energy Business, TK Kurien (Kurien), to take over. In a bid to turn
around the company, Kurien restructured the organization to make it nimbler and focused on key
segments such as the BFSI and consulting to chase growth. Moreover, the single CEO model was also
adopted to ensure that Wipro

Black Dirt Research Paper
Black dirt is an important part of healthy growing environment. Erosion and loss of black dirt has
been a problem in the past, but technology and government regulation has improved the problem. My
prediction is that black dirt conservation will be even better in the future.
In the past, soil erosion rapidly depleted black dirt. Breaking up of prairie land with a mow board
plow started the main erosion of black dirt. By 1940 black dirt was reduced by fifty percent from
plowing the soil. (panno.org) . During the dust bowl a single storm dumped 12 million pounds of
black dirt on Chicago. (Soil Quality.org) . Black dirt was dry and wind erosion caused the black
storms or dust bowl. By 1933 the US government made the farm bill conservation service to reduce
the loss of black dirt. (panno.org) . As a result, by 1938, blowing black dirt was reduced by 65%. The
loss of black dirt began to stabilize after 1940. (soil quality.org) . ... Show more content on

A INTRODUCTION
It is possible that most of us; the students, the employees or even some academicians don t know the
term mobbing . Mobbing is a new term in today s management issues. The term comes from other
fields of study, i.e.; behavioral sciences.
Mobbing basically refers to an attacking behavior. Mobbing was used firstly to describe the attacks
from a smaller group of animals directed against one single larger animal. Later on, this animal
behavior term was carried on to child behavior, and referred to the very destructive behaviors of a
group of children ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Theoretically mobbing is an extreme form of social stressors at work. It is amazing both from the
scientist s and the practitioner s point of view that there was so little prior research in this area.
A social interaction, through which one s attacked by one or more (seldom more than 4) individuals on
almost a daily basis and for periods of many months, forcing the person into an almost helpless
position with a high potential risk of expulsion.
Mobbing is long lasting, recurrent, and serious negative actions and behavior that is annoying and
oppressing. It is not mobbing if you are scolded once or somebody shrugs his/her shoulders at you
once. Negative behaviors develop into mobbing when it becomes continuous and repeated. Often the
victim of mobbing feels unable to defend him/herself.
The direction of hostile communication and behaviors toward one individual.
The phenomena of repeated workplace aggression by individuals to harm other with whom they work.
Psychological terror at workplace
Ganging up on someone in the work place
The situations where an employee is persistently picked on or humiliated by leaders or coworkers.
Originally refers to group aggression.
Mobbing or mobbing is one form of extreme negative social interaction at work.
All these definitions vary in their content but refer to the same fact; a fact that one faces

Betrayal In Aesope s Fable
Betrayal can cause a person to crumble. It comes in many different forms and some are more
damaging than others. Friend, country and family betrayal exist in our worlicity of family is the most
damaging form of betrayal because a person spends the entirety of their life with their family. The
betrayal of a friend is destructive because people choose their friends to be part of their life. In Aesope
s Fable The Frog and the Mouse the mouse treated the frog to an elaborate dinner because they are
friends. The frog repays the mouse by tying the mouse s foot to his own and drowning him in a pond.
Before the mouse dies, he states, Even if I m dead and you re still alive, I will get my revenge! . That
is precisely what happens when a raven plucks both the frog and the dead mouse from the pond and
eats them. The destruction of friendship is apparent in Justin Timberlake s song Cry Me a River . He
sings Now there s just no chance for you and me, there ll never be . Timberlake sings this song after he
found out that his girlfriend had cheated on him, thus her betrayal of their relationship destroyed their
friendship. Therefore, these examples show the destruction caused by the betrayal of a friend. ... Show

How Did Kasushika Hokusai Influence Japanese Culture
Japanese artist Katsushika Hokusai helped expose the Western world to Japanese customs and beliefs.
His crucial impact on culture and art can be attributed to his notable and familiar depictions of Japan s
geography, architecture, and people that surrounded him. Hokusai s unique blend of traditional
Japanese methods and Western mediums made his work a source of inspiration for many European
artists during the Impressionism era such as Van Gogh, Monet, and Degas. Katsushika Hokusai, best
known for his print of a large wave gracefully swallowing a fishing boat called The Great Wave Off
Kanagawa , is arguably one of the most influential artists of the 19th century. His work can be viewed

However, throughout the 19th century, the influence of artists like Hokusai, Utamaro, and Hiroshige
helped transform the former taboo into an appreciation for this cornerstone of Japanese culture. While
ukiyo e was a strength of Hokusai s, it wasn t the only style of art he was trained in. While studying
under Shunsho, he also attended lessons from Yusen, an artist from the Kano school who taught him
about Western style art and the use of perspective. These experiences shaped Hokusai into an
exceptional artist and woodworker, but probably would not have been possible if he had been born in
another country, showing the significant impact relative location can have. Relative location, defined
as a point or place in relation to another point or place , played a significant role in Hokusai s career
throughout his life. For example, because of the large distance between where Japan is located relative
to where Europe is located, it was hard for Hokusai to share his artistic ideas outside of his home
country. In addition to the issue of physical distance, during the early 1800 s Japan was under a
foreign policy called sakoku, which allowed no foreigner or Japanese person to enter or leave the
country on penalty of death. This

Fairy tales have a critical role in a child s life, however, many scholars have come to debate whether
fairy tales are negatively affecting the children s mind through the gender roles the tales portray. In

Accordingly, she demonstrates concrete and valid evidence throughout the study despite it being an
intelligent source of evidence she does not fully view what she has gathered to create a strong

The key diction words which give Westland a less effective conclusion are seem , could have , and

Analysis Of John Updike s Araby
John Updike s penchant for appropriating great works of literature and giving them contemporary
restatement in his own fiction is abundantly documented as is the fact that, among his favorite sources,
James Joyce looms large.[1]
With special affinity for Dubliners, Updike has, by common acknowledgment, written at least one
short story that strongly resembles the acclaimed Araby, not only in plot and theme, but in incidental
detail. That story, the 1960 You ll Never Know, Dear, How Much I Love You like Araby tells the tale
of a poor, romantically infatuated young boy who, though obstructed by parental slowness, journeys
with innocent urgency, coins in hand, to a seemingly magical carnival only to find there, behind its
facades, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The self delusion in both cases leads quickly to an emotional fall.
At 19, Updike s protagonist, Sammy, is a good bit older than Joyce s at the opposite end of
adolescence, it would seem. While in Joyce s boy we readily believe such confusion between the
gallant and profane, I think we needn t assume that Sammy is likewise unable to distinguish between
the two quite normal impulses. His attraction to the girl in the aisle is certainly far more anatomically
and less ambiguously expressed than that of Joyce s boy to Mangan s sister. But it is Beauty that
confounds the issue. When human aesthetics come into play, when the object of a young man s carnal
desire also gratifies him aesthetically, that is when the confusion arises. in Irish Catholic Dublin of the
1890s,[3] such youthful beauty not surprisingly invokes analogies between Mangan s sister and the
Queen of Heaven (though the swinging of her body and the soft rope of her hair toss[ing] from side to
side [Joyce 30]), which captivate the boy, hint at something less spiritual than Madonna worship). And
while beauty s benchmarks in Sammy s more secular mid century America are more anatomical than
spiritual, Updike does have Sammy call his young femme fatal Queenie, and he does make her the
center of a trinity of sorts, showing her two friends at one point huddl[ing] against her for relief ( A P
189).

The Importance Of Cultural Imperialism In How To Read...
Cultural imperialism and the popular culture of Disney s influence brainwashing the minds of young
children who read the comics. These comics in third world and war torn countries are a propaganda
targeted at teaching, children the ideals of capitalism and attacking socialists and the proletariat. How

try and hide the message of politics, economics, and race behind talking animals. As children these
messages are implanted them without knowing, ideas of who is good and bad, a family dynamic, and
how luxury good items are made without any acknowledgment to the working class. The book s
popularity is in countries like Chile, where Disney comics are so popular and effective at telling the
story American popular culture wants to tell. The book discusses important and common themes
throughout comics from Disney for example the lack of a father or direct family relation, for example,
of siblings or a mother and father using only cousins or uncles to make characters expendable or easily
replaceable. There other factors and themes in these comics, but characters like Donald Duck always
seem to have the most fortunate of luck and have everything work out for them in the end. Other
characters are punished or always put down for example the Beagle Boys for trying to attain the
wealth of rich characters like Scrooge Mcduck and never end up triumphing. According to How to

French Counterinsurgency Failures in the Algerian War of...
In recent years, it has become fashionable in the minds of some to belittle France. A rather boorish
joke follows along the lines of arguing that the French have big heads only in order to accommodate
their big mouths. This colloquial anecdote can be used to demonstrate that outsiders often view the
behavior and policy of French government with contempt at their perceived arrogance. An example
can be found in the case of Algeria s decolonization. The failures and arrogance of the French allowed
insurgents to emerge the victors of the Algerian War of 1954 1962. To understand why this occurred, it
is imperative to examine how French military arrogance, political arrogance, and a failure to use
military and political capabilities in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In attempting to justify the use of torture, military leaders posited that the unconventional style of war
being waged did not merit following rules of conventional war, that it was a controlled and limited
way to quickly gain intelligence of tactical value, and it came to pass that [t]he ideological and
spiritual nature of the conflict was internalized by many in the French Army and became one
justification for torture, (DiMarco 2006, 70 71.) Regardless of justification, failure to comply with
moral and legal constrictions... severely undermined French efforts and contributed to their loss
despite several significant military victories. (Counterinsurgency Field Manual 2006, 252) It is
obvious that with such improper conduct such as the counterinsurgency tactics used and torture of
captured enemy personnel the demonstrated arrogance of the French military contributed to its
eventual defeat by emboldening its opposition. Less tangible a form of failure than military arrogance,
the political arrogance of leaders among both the pied noir and metropolitan France contributed to the
Algerian victory. Policymakers were, like military leaders, interested in preventing another incident as
embarrassing as Dien Bien Phu. However, the long, pronounced history of division between natives

What s going on? The drug war is responsible for hundreds of billions of wasted taxes dollars and

Mansfield Short Stories
Through her short stories you feel the emotional connection within the characters. She was a young
New Zealand who was dying with a disease called Tuberculosis, dying at the age of 34. Successfully,
she wrote three books with a fourth and fifth book following after her death. There were many trigger
points that led her to become a writer, they were moving back to New Zealand, her brother s death in
World War 1, and her sensations with how women were treated. Her stories were described as blurred
edges of personality, the poetry of feeling and the expansiveness of the interior life. (Wilkins) One
may argue that Mansfield works never romances the tragedies of modern women, but rather
sympathizes with the women she portrays as she suspends the happy ending.
The women at the store, describes the emotion of a lonely lower class woman with a young bratty
child and a mangy dog running the store. Two men named Jo and Jim ride up on the store expressing
their first impressions as the women being ugly. The men question her husband s whereabouts, she is
confused and changes the subject to avoid answering the question. One of the men suggests she comes
down to the paddock with tea, instead, she quickly responds I don t fancy it. One may argue that her
response indicates that she is not high class. Rather express the solitude she endures every day. She
exposes her night gown to the men in the motion of dropping the blanket that was covering her.

Similarities And Differences Between Greek Architecture...
Greek architecture and roman architecture have been in touch with each other due to their Similarities
and differences between their civilizations as the temples and other structures. Both groups used to
define their own ideas by using their own thinking and structure creations. One way to compare and
contrast between greek architecture and roman architecture is to discuss the 3 main points such as
buildings types, material used and art and style The temples of the greek architecture is the most
remaining example for the buildings types. It was also built to be an art of honor to their gods, they

the character by different readers. For example, the tone in which certain lines are said or in the way a
certain action is portrayed can change the whole personality of a character. When reading, the reader
portrays each of the characters as he/ she believes them to be, but then another reader could have a
difference of opinion and change the whole attitude; this was the case if you consider the readers to be
myself and Kate Winslet. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When looking at this line, Brilliant (Reza1262), from before, the difference is shown wonderfully. In
Carnage , Nancy isn t stating Penelope is really brilliant; she has that good for you tone in her voice
and could honestly care less about the cobbler. Kate Winslet uses that tone of voice to show her
apathy, but also does one simple gesture that tops it off; she raises her eyebrows. Although it doesn t
sound like much, everyone knows that look of annoyance, and that is exactly the one Nancy gave to
Penelope in the movie. Later in the play, after shuffling through Veronique s art books, Annette once
again agrees with what Veronique has to say. After Veronique makes the comment about taking her
children to concerts, museums, and making them read and saying We re eccentric enough to believe in
the pacifying abilities of culture! (Reza1267) about her and her husband; Annette says And you re
right... (Reza1267). Once again she is being very agreeable and there is no way to know if this is her
actual opinion. Annette is just too busy pleasing Veronique. At the same moment in the play as
mentioned before, the movie seems to play out differently. Nancy does shuffle through the table full of
magazines but in response to Penelope s comment like Veronique s, she gives more of a head nod.
Once again the attitude difference is shown between Annette and Nancy in their take on the situation
by something very minimal.

Bruce Dawe Satire
Bruce Dawe Research Essay
Examine how satire is used in the poetry of Bruce Dawe to criticise aspects of the society in which he
lives. Illustrate your examination by close reference to at least two of Dawe s poems.
In the words of the Shorter Oxford Dictionary, satire is a poem, or a piece of prose composition, in
which prevailing vices or follies are held up to ridicule or a thing fact or circumstance that has the
effect of making some person or thing ridiculous. Dawe employs a humourous tone enlivened by a
satirical social conscience to encourage readers to become more socially critical. The iconic Australian
poet Bruce Dawe uses Horatian satire to challenge readers to question aspects of the Australian society
in which he lived. Dawe ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

tone and crude language mock the Chinese in the film and his own family. Yet, the narrator s
responses are not parallel to that of Dawe and instilling this third voice encourages an alternative point
of view to the reader. This tone and character construction are established in the beginning; Chinese
peasant families famishing in comfort. The word famishing is considered relatively pretentious to
insinuate that the narrator is equipped with some form of education, contrary to that of the family he is
talking about. The narrator s relaxed humour is shown when he compares the television size to the size
of the Chinese families; 25 inch Chinese peasant families famishing in comfort on the 25 inch screen.
His willingness to display such wit towards a dire situation suggests his inconsideration towards the
Chinese and furthermore, asserts his superiority on them. Dawe uses this tone to make a comment on
the insensitivity of society and bring light to this overconsumption and under reaction. In this way, the
reader is encouraged to become more aware of the lack of apathy that can occur through an overly

The Effect Of Culture On Consumer Behaviour
In international market, understanding consumer needs and desired is extremely important to the
corporation in order to market their products and services properly into the market. Consumer
behaviour is a process in where individuals or groups select, buy, use and dispose of the products and
services to satisfy their needs and desires. The organisation simply cannot understand consumption
unless they consider its cultural context, as culture shows how people view leads to their acceptance.
Therefore, the effect of culture on consumer behaviour is powerful. This paper will discuss in more
details about that and further consider whether culture has the greatest influence on consumer
behaviour.
Culture has a complex concept that numerous of researchers talk about in different views. Cultures is
defined as a complex whole that includes of knowledge, belief, art, morals, law, custom and any other
capabilities and habits acquired by a member of the society (Hollensen, 2013). Culture provides the
important background of an individual that offer direction and guidance to its members in all phases
of life. Besides, Sojka and Tansuhaj describe culture as a dynamic set of socially obtains the member
of a particular society s behaviours, with the key element of language, artefacts, belief and values
(Sojka and Tansuhaj, 1995). There are three main characteristics of culture stated on Hollensen s
(2013) book: culture is learned, interrelated and shared. The tangible aspects of culture

Socrates Flaws
Socrates, in a simple but bold statement, proclaims wisdom as being the cardinal virtue. He believed
that if one does not examine oneself, their life has no true meaning. Socrates defended the idea and
virtue of self examination, for he believed it is through change and growth that people attain self
betterment. Not only this, but this method of critical reflection also realigns values with what is
actually important in life, such as wisdom and spirituality. Socrates believed that examination and
scrutiny of one s beliefs were necessary in order to improve oneself. Without review, people would
never be able to see their faults. Socrates lists this reason in Apology as why he cross examines
people: For I do nothing but go about persuading ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A person with unexamined values generally holds the insignificant to be what is important and what is
truly significant to be inconsequential. In the Apology, Socrates addresses the men of Athens on this
subject: Are you not ashamed of heaping up the greatest amount of money and honour and reputation,
and caring so little about wisdom and truth and the greatest improvement of the soul (Plato)? Through
this statement, Socrates argument perfectly encapsulates the state that an unexamined society exists in
one that values greatness over goodness. Though over two thousand years have passed since Socrates
stated this before the Athenian court, it remains an accurate portrait of society; the majority of people
amass material things, strive to become famous, and seemingly work only to gain wealth, all while
hardly caring about knowledge, morals, or personal integrity. These skewing of values are the result of
an unexamined life. People who never inspect what they hold valuable are swept up into society s race
to riches and fame, instead of focusing on enriching themselves and others with wisdom and truth.
People often ruin their lives as well as others in pursuit of their vices. Socrates knew that by
examining oneself and what values are genuinely important, one not only safeguards himself against
such downfalls, but they can also be led to the most valuable things of

3 1 Describe the major sources of income and expenditures for households
1. (Evolution of the Household) Determine whether each of the following would increase or decrease
the opportunity costs for Mothers who choose not to work outside the home. Explain your answers.
a. Higher levels of education for women
b. Higher unemployment rates for women
c. Higher average pay levels for women
d. Lower demand for labor in industries that traditionally employ large numbers of women
Higher levels of education for women would increase the opportunity cost for women chosing to work
outside the home. The opportunity cost rises because as a women s education level increases, so does
the available positions the woman is qualified for, hence a higher level of income. This means a
woman chosing not to work outside the home is forgoing the opportunity for higher education for
women to benefit her and her potential to earn higher wages. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Fewer positions equal fewer opportunities. Therefore, women chosing not to work outside the home
are not effected by higher employment rates for women. Higher average pay levels for women would
increase the opportunity cost. Women chosing to work outside the home would have more opportunity
at higher wages. Whereas, women chosing not to work outside the home relinquish the higher
earnings. Lower demand for labor in industries that traditionally employ large numbers of women
would mean fewer positions available for women choosing to work outside the home, causing the
opportunity costs to fall. Again, this would have very little effect on women choosing to not work

Object And Process Modeling, And Stragies For System...
System Analysis and System Requirements Object Modeling, Process Modeling, and Strategies for
System Analysis and Problem Solving April 6, 2005 Object Modeling A class can be described as a
collection of objects of similar type. These objects often share the same attributes, operations,
methods, relationships, and semantics. Additionally, once a class is defined any number of objects can
be created and associated to that class. For example, beagles and boxers represent different breeds (i.e.
instances) of dogs which also can be viewed as a distinct class. Furthermore, defining classes, as part
of the object modeling process is not that different from the traditional system analysis process, which

In addition, to organizing the flow of data throughout a system, logical models also provide means of
bridging the gap of communicating information to end users in a non technical manner while also
preserving the requirements. Finally, logical models encourage creativity and reduce the risk of
missing requirements, which are normally missed because of pre occupation with technical details.
Like the logical processing model a context data flow diagram defines the scope and boundary for the
system and project. Because the scope of any project is always subject to change; the context diagram
is also subject to constant change. A context diagram is referred to as being another representation an

project s scope is important in that it defines what aspect of the business a system or application is
supposed to support. An event diagram represents the final area of my discussion of the Process
Modeling method. An event diagram represents a context diagram that focuses on the inputs, outputs,

of a single process, which can be referenced back to the event identified for a decomposition diagram.
Event diagrams therefore are valuable for identifying and addressing event driven factors, which when

Project aims and significance
Intimate partner violence (IPV) has been recognised as an issue which needs to be addressed due to its
negative consequences on health of individuals. The World Health Organisation (WHO) defines
Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) as any act between intimate relations which results into physical,
emotional, sexual trauma or any other form of restriction or isolation from family and friends which
can lead to undesirable health outcomes (Organization, 2012). Violence do exists between intimate
partners with women becoming more victims than men (Hall, Chappell, Parnell, Seed, Bewley, 2014).
In Victoria, it had accounted for 7.9% of overall disease burden among women of reproductive age
(Vos et al., 2006). According to WHO global report on violence, more than 35% of women experience
both physical and sexual abuse by intimate partners which represents a large proportion of all types of

What Is The Theme Of Poverty In Charles Dickens
England was rapidly becoming urban society. But in spite of wealth created by industrialization,
people still suffer from poverty. There are many factories but in a miserable state, low wages and
harsh conditions. Industrial Revolution creates a middle class (neither rich nor poor). The
irresponsible of practices of social institutions, as well as the evasion and abuses of responsibility by
individuals, a reality which expresses the general atmosphere of man s isolation and disintegration.

Poverty is one of the main problems that Charles Dickens focuses on and attempts to draw attention of
his readers to. Poverty is a serious and economic problem of English society of the late 19th century.
This is why Dickens, chooses it as one of the main themes of his novel and also tries to describe the
appearance of the poor people. They are not human but they look like animals. The man s face was

The crime against the child, 21 as Dorothy Van Ghent suggests is a theme which arrests Dickens s
attention as early as his second novel, Oliver Twist. What is to be noted in tracing Dickens s treatment
of this theme is that Oliver s suffering is primarily physical and external, but Dickens s later vision of
childhood suffering shows interest in human psychology. Alex Zwerdling maintains that, by the time
Dickens has written Dombey and Son, he has become more interested in the child deprived of love
than food and shelter.

Living As A Lesbian, And August Jordan s A New Politics...
The articles that stood out the most to me were Cheryl Clarke s Living As a Lesbian and June Jordan s
A New Politics of Sexuality . These articles stood out, because while given a similar topic (lesbians)
they both possessed very different, yet similar arguments. I found this interesting because it is a prime
example of societies different views on controversial topics. Cheryl and June s articles contain many
differences, similarities and information to be reflected on.
Cheryl s main arguments are that everyone who loves women (whether its romantically, sexually,
platonically, etc.) is a feminist and lesbians are all part of a rebellion. She states, No matter how a
woman lives out her lesbianism she has rebelled against becoming the slave master s concubine, viz.,
the male dependent female, the female heterosexual. This gives evidence towards her argument that
lesbians, regardless their intentions are resisting from the constructs that society wants them to adhere
to. June would disagree with this statement, arguing that lesbians aren t solely out to rebel but are just
pursuing their lives freely. Cheryl also points out that there is no one sort of lesbian and that whether
you consider yourself a full blown lesbian or bisexual it doesn t change the fact that you are resisting
against the heterosexual society. This being true, Cheryl Clarke also disagrees with the idea of
bisexuality; whereas June Jordan identifies as bisexual. Following along with this Cheryl

Under his 45 year direction, this Institute became one of the most important centers of physiological
research (Babkin, 1949). In 1890, Pavlov was selected as Professor of Pharmacology at the Military

he held until 1925.
Ivan Pavlov was known for many things. From studying digestion to studying the circulatory system
to studying nerves directing the digestive glands, he had an abundance of skill and knowledge. In
1889, he discovered the nerves controlling the gastric glands in which he received the 1904 Nobel

Pavlov received a medical degree at age 33 and spent the next two decades studying the digestive

Analysis Of Kenneth Branagh s Much Ado About Nothing
Kenneth Branagh s Much Ado About Nothing is remarkably different in tone from the other plays
discussed. Unlike the other two comedies, Taming of the Shrew and Merchant of Venice, there are far
fewer comedic aspects that do not translate well to modern audiences. The film has much less violence
in it than the others and even its chief villain is more like a cartoon villain than an outright evil
manipulator.
The tragedies are known for their fascinatingly complex villains such as Richard III or Iago, but
Keanu Reeves Don John comes across as a character lost in the wrong movie. He lurks in the shadows
and is not really given a compelling motive for his cruel actions. He does not even enact the rare few
scenes of violence in the film. In a different play, the ineffectual portrayal of the villain could ruin the
whole production, but Branagh understands that Much Ado About Nothing s most important parts are
the dynamics between the two sets of couples, something this film does quite well.
It is this toning down of violence and dark undertones that allows the film to be so successful. Claudio
s striking of Hero is the most noticeable physical violence and it is quickly followed by a romantic
scene between Beatrice and Benedick to restore the tone. It comes across well as a modern romantic
comedy, with just enough darkness to drive the plot forward. To make the film darker than it has to be
would diminish how enjoyable and fun to watch it is.

This article gives readers a look back into ancient Egypt through the upper and lower parts of the Nile
River in northeastern Africa, it seems that people in Egypt had religious freedom because the overall
Egyptian religion was based on polytheism. Polytheism is the worshiping of many deities. With well
over 2,000 gods and goddesses, the people of Egypt had plenty of super human beings to worship such
as the farmers along the Nile who worshiped Hapi, the god of the Nile, to bring them floods to fertilize
their soil for crops. Along with their pharaoh who was seen as the most powerful person in the
kingdom because he was considered to be half man, half god; he was the people of Egypt s connection
to the many gods they served.

Fangirl Summary
I have finished reading Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell. This book is about a young woman named Cath
and how college changes her relationships and creates new ones. In the second half of this book, the
reader sees how Cath s relationship with her twin sister, Wren, is on unstable grounds. The sisters
differing personalities and different opinions on what college life should be about, causes this rift
between them. Cath s relationship with her mother begins to change also. Cath resents her mother
because her mother left when she was eight. Cath then had to take over the matriarchal position in the
household and lost parts of her childhood because of that, so when Cath s mother asks to be a part of
Cath s life, Cath staunchly refuses. Cath also starts ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the novel, the author foreshadowed to Cath s father having a mental breakdown. An example of the
foreshadowing of the breakdown is Cath s father calling Cath sporadically. Often times, he would call
Cath with unhinged ideas, seeking her opinion. He would also call Cath at bizarre times of the day, or
he would go days without calling. One of the ideas he called Cath with was having a slide go down
from her room to the bathroom. These details help to foreshadow to a possible mental crisis. The
reader can also see foreshadowing for a mental breakdown in Cath s father s self care. Cath has to call
him and remind him to eat healthy meals. When she does not call he eats pizza, does not do laundry,
and overworks. When Cath goes to see her father, she sees empty pizza boxes and piles of laundry
littering the floor. Cath s father s worsening standards of hygiene foreshadowed to a mental
breakdown later in the book. Another evaluation I made is that the author wrote Levi as a foil to Cath.
An example of Levi and Cath s contrasting characteristics is their reading habits. Levi dislikes reading
because he feels like when he reads his eyes take in information but his brain does not understand. On
the other hand, Cath is very passionate about reading. She reads her own fanfiction constantly and
occasionally fits in time to read other fanfiction relating to Simon Snow. I believe that the author
created this contrast to provide a way for the

The Importance Of The House Of Lords Considering Its...
Introduction:
Having a unicameral UK government has always been a consideration. However, attempts to reform it
or remove it, has become a controversial topic. Some critics believe that the removal of a bicameral
government will be expensive, give the government too much power and reduce representation.
Others consider the abolition of it to be more democratic and cheaper as it takes less time. This essay
will discuss the requirement of the House of Lords considering its benefits and harms. It will also
acknowledge its impacts on Westminster and Scottish Parliament, the power of the parliament and the
legislative process of constitutional reform.
(i) relative functions of Second Chamber in the UK Parliament and unicameral Scotland
The UK Parliament is bicameral. It has two separate chambers; the House of Lords (upper house) and
the House of Commons (lower house). The House of Lords is an unelected chamber totaling up to 790
members. Life peers are the majority members . It shares the same functions as the House of
Commons. Criticized due to similarities. Each house has five stages in the pre legislative process.
Both review and amend proposed legislature and challenging the government. The House of Lords
powers only goes so far regarding amending bills. The house has no authority to amend government
enactments relating to finance. It was introduced by the Parliament Act 1911 after wealthy members
refused to pass the People s Budget which would raise their taxes .

Animal Imagery In Timothy Findley s The Wars Essay
Animal Imagery In Timothy Findley s The Wars
Works Cited Missing
The abundant animal imagery in Timothy Findley s book The Wars is used to develop characterization
and theme. The protagonist, Robert Ross, has a deep connection with animals that reflects his
personality and the situations that he faces. This link between Robert and the animals shows the reader
that human nature is not much different than animal nature.
The animals in this story are closely related to the characters, especially the character of Robert.
Rodwell acknowledges Robert s close union with animals when he draws Robert in his sketchbook as
the only human form among sketches of animals (155). When Robert sees the drawing, he notices that

One of the horses breaks its leg and Robert is ordered to kill it. He shoots it once, but the horse is still
alive and its mane is described as a tangle of rattlesnakes (68). The snakes symbolize the feelings of
immorality that are welling up inside of Robert. He knows that killing an animal is against his moral
values, but his role in the army is more important to him. He feels that he has to show his nerve and
ability as an officer (66). Robert finally shoots the horse behind its ear and kills it. This is the first time
he intentionally kills a living creature in the story.
Robert s ethics return to him and take priority over military obedience when he tries to rescue horses
from the cruelties of war. Robert disobeys Captain Leather s orders and tries to free the horses from
the barn that is threatened by falling shells. Unfortunately, the horses die before he can save them all
and Robert is filled with anger, shooting Captain Leather between the eyes for causing their death.
From this moment on, he rebels against anyone who does not respect his love for animals. This
rebellion continues when he barricades himself in a barn with the horses and shouts, [w]e shall not be
taken (212). It is Robert s strong connection with the horses that leads to his downfall, because the we
implies to Major Mickle that Robert has an accomplice, and for that reason an attack is ordered.

Disability Rights Movement Essay
While the exact origin of the disability rights movement can be debated, some historians concur that
the movement began in 1817 when The American School of the Deaf launched in Hartford,
Connecticut became the first educational institutional to use sign language and take care of people
with disabilities. Apart from the mission to educate, the goal of the school was to foster self
sufficiency.
From Years 1900 AD till date, Braille is the English language standard for the blinds. Helen Keller s
cause for blind resulted in the foundation of the American Foundation for the Blind (AFB), a non

Career Development in Generation X Essay
Career Development in Generation X
Generation X refers to the population cohort following the Baby Boomers. Sources differ as to the
exact years during which this cohort was born. Coupland (1991) suggests 1960 to 1970; Bradford and
Raines (1992) propose 1965 to 1975; and Howe and Strauss (1993) suggest 1961 to 1981. Whatever
the birth years, it is their common life experiences that give this cohort an identity. Individuals born in
Generation X are reputedly more global, technologically oriented, and culturally diverse than the
generations before them. Coming of age when the linear career path no longer exists, where average
income is falling, and where continuous change is the norm, does this generation have different

The twenty somethings of Generation X who are currently in the work force entered the labor market
with no expectations. Many of them believe the best years (in terms of society) are behind them
(Howe and Strauss 1993). They have been told that they are the only generation since the Civil War to
come of age unlikely to match their parents economic fortunes (ibid., p. 7). They place little faith in
job security. They saw their parents laid off without cause and their perceptions of the working world
were shaped in time of economic turmoil. Consequently, they tend to see every job they take as
temporary and every company as a stepping stone to something better, or at least to something else
(Filipczak 1994, p. 23). Since they have adopted the philosophy that there are no guarantees, they are
not interested in working their way up. They want to be valued immediately for their skills (Bradford
and Raines 1992). They see their career strength in their ability to solve problems and do jobs that
others are not able to do. They believe that security nowadays comes from the transferability of one s
skills to other jobs rather than from advancement in hierarchically managed organizations (Wilkinson
1995, p. 67). They use job hopping as a way to build their skills and make themselves more
marketable (Filipczak 1994, p. 27).
Although individuals in Generation X may be cynical, they do not lack drive. They

Back in the days, Monogramming represented the sign of wealth and authority one possessed. Nothing
has really changed; we still identify monogrammed items with exclusivity and upscale attire. It
denotes luxury and can define our level of fashion sense.
Wearing a monogrammed garment or accessory is a great opportunity to express one s identity and
give a personalized feeling to the owner. Many lady golfers take this suggestion and monogram their
golf apparel and accessories. It shows style and elegance and makes a bold statement.
Where golf was thought of only as an affluent sport it has transformed with celebrity names and the
hype from the LPGA; now more women have become interested in the sport from all walks of life. It s
no longer a sport only for the wealthy and fashion has become an all too important dress code for the
game.
On the greens, golfers are all bonded by their own dress code but that has not stopped any lady golfers
from being fashionable and classy and standing out amongst the crowd. The ladies golf apparel makes
a bold striking statement on golf courses that cannot be

Ratigan Case Summary
Background of the Case:
This case is about Rev. Shawn F. Ratigan, a 47 year old catholic priest at Kansas City St. Joseph
diocesan. He was convicted of making child pornography and was arrested on May 2011 and was
imprisoned for 50 years in prison by Kansas City federal judge.
Ratigan s Early Life:
Records says that Ratigan has graduated from Conception Seminary College in Missouri in 2000. He
was worried about his graduation because he joined college after 12 years of completing his high
school and later joined the conception board and then graduated from theological studies at Mundelein
Seminary.
On June 4, 2004, he started his career as pastor at St. Thomas and was always actively participating in
the events organized by the church. He ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Ms. Creech along with her supervisor prepared a report to Murphy stating their findings that only a

She has also attached the copies of few of the images that she has found in the laptop in her report.
Murphy has contacted the legal counsel outside the Diocese and Kansas City police for an opinion on
photographs that were found on Ratigan laptop and wanted to know whether those images constituted
child pornography. The counsel opinion was that the images were not eligible to be considered as
pornographic and the police officer Rick Smith who looked into the issue stated in his report that, he
was informed by Murphy that there was only one nude photograph of a child and that to it belonged to
Ratigan s family member which was not a sexual pose. But Murphy denied his statement and said he
doesn t recall saying something like that to the officer.
On December 17, 2010, Ratigan did not report to the church and so the Officials of the church got
worried and reported to police. Police found him unconscious in his garage while his motorcycle was
running. Everyone thought that it was an accident but originally, he attempted suicide because his
pornographic photographs came out. Someone has announced during the Sunday mass that Father
Ratigan has met with an accident and everyone should pray for his recovery. When he survived,

Cultural Differences Between Sharia And Shaday
Different Cultures
The culture that I belong to is Christianity. What is Christianity? Well it is Abrahamic monotheistic
religion based on the life and teachings of Jesus Christ as presented in the New Testament. Every
Sunday or every other Sunday my family and I go to church, and come back to cook Sunday dinner. I
was given the opportunity to study two different cultures that is different from mines. I had to find
someone fast, and that I did. I interviewed two of my coworkers from work on their culture. Afia is
from Libya, and Shaday is from Belize.
Before doing this project, I had known about these different places, but not a lot.
The first person I interviewed was Afia. The first question that I asked was, in Libya what is their
language? She told me she speaks Arabic, and it is main language spoken in Libya. Then I asked how
they greet each other. The handshake is commonly used, and you have to shake hands at the ... Show

despite the Constitutional Proclamation issued in 1969. One interest fact that I found really good
looking up is that they live almost entirely off of the food that they grow themselves. Fast food
restaurants and supermarkets, do not exist in most of Africa. People sell clothing, food, and other
supplies at outdoor markets. I also did not know that the music of Africa is a part of all aspects of life.
All forms of instruments, such as string, wind, and percussion, originated in Africa. When doing this

Most people in the United States are consumers that is the reason why Walmart is so successful. In August many people spent more money than usual as personal spending, consumer consumption, and household consumption. People tend to spend more money when supply decreases and therefore their demand increases. Many of these individuals do not see the real expenditures they are making. These are the reasons why in August household spending rose: First, personal spending which includes health care amongst other things, advanced 0.4% in August (Sparshott, 2015). Credit cards may not be an ally for an individual because they tend to swipe the card and end up with a big bill. Next, consumer spending may be influence by the final sales every store in the U.S. presents. At the end, one spent more than expected. This explains how you don t really need and education to play the sport Major league sports is one of the few areas remaining in American life where a college education is of little importance and won t determine whether you qualify for the job or how much money you make. In fact, acquiring a college degree could reduce your earnings because all athletes have a limited number of peak earning years, and getting a BA takes up four of them. in this quote it also explains that people who go to college lose their peak earning years because getting a degree can take 2 4 years. Which already takes those years when a person is at their physical best. The education process to make it in the mlb is not a deciding factor to weather a person makes it or doesnt. The player needs to be in great physical shape and have great coordination training will improve a players skills if they train hard everyday. The game of baseball is more mental than anything else players need to know what is going to happen before the ball is even in play. • 4. The Importance Of The Cochlear Implants The cochlear implant is quite possibly one of the greatest ideas invented to benefit the deaf community. American Sign Language (ASL) has been the main way the deaf communicate and is extremely important to the deaf culture. To those that can hear, being deaf or profoundly hard of hearing has been considered a handicap. It was for that reason that someone invented the cochlear implant, causing a huge debate within the deaf community. Some of those in the deaf community fear that their culture will be lost and destroyed, while others and the hearing community believe that it will better their lives. Most do not realize that this procedure is not a cure and that it will leave those with the implants confused as to where they belong in society. There are quite a few who believe the cochlear implants work just like the hearing aid, only implanted in their head. However, there are significant differences between the two. Cochlear implants do not restore normal hearing, whereas the use of hearing aids can bring it close to normal. Hearing aids send amplified sound to the damaged cochlea, and can be programmed to shape amplification of sound to match the hearing loss. Wipro, the third largest player in the Indian Information Technology (IT) industry, had traditionally focused on investment banking in the Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance (BFSI) vertical, and on the telecom sector. Both these segments had reportedly taken a beating in recent years. While the investment banking segment had reported muted growth, the fact that clients in the telecommunications sector, especially in Europe, were reducing their technology spend had also negatively impacted Wipro s performance. In addition to this, the company s dual CEO structure adopted in April 2008 did not yield the expected results. This, according to analysts, was because the two CEOs Girish Paranjpe (Paranjpe) and Suresh Vaswani (Vaswani) did not focus on key segments that helped Indian IT companies recover growth post the global financial crisis 10. Thus, Wipro lagged behind its peers such as TCS and Infosys. To arrest the decline in sales and profitability, Wipro s founder and executive chairman, Azim Hasham Premji (Premji), scrapped the dual CEO structure in January 2011, to make way for company veteran and head of the Eco Energy Business, TK Kurien (Kurien), to take over. In a bid to turn around the company, Kurien restructured the organization to make it nimbler and focused on key segments such as the BFSI and consulting to chase growth. Moreover, the single CEO model was also adopted to ensure that Wipro

Friend, country and family betrayal exist in our worlicity of family is the most damaging form of betrayal because a person spends the entirety of their life with their family. The betrayal of a friend is destructive because people choose their friends to be part of their life. In Aesope s Fable The Frog and the Mouse the mouse treated the frog to an elaborate dinner because they are friends. The frog repays the mouse by tying the mouse s foot to his own and drowning him in a pond. Before the mouse dies, he states, Even if I m dead and you re still alive, I will get my revenge! . That is precisely what happens when a raven plucks both the frog and the dead mouse from the pond and eats them. The destruction of friendship is apparent in Justin Timberlake s song Cry Me a River . His crucial impact on culture and art can be attributed to his notable and familiar depictions of Japan s geography, architecture, and people that surrounded him. While studying under Shunsho, he also attended lessons from Yusen, an artist from the Kano school who taught him about Western style art and the use of perspective. These experiences shaped Hokusai into an exceptional artist and woodworker, but probably would not have been possible if he had been born in another country, showing the significant impact relative location can have. Relative location, defined as a point or place in relation to another point or place , played a significant role in Hokusai s career throughout his life. For example, because of the large distance between where Japan is located relative to where Europe is located, it was hard for Hokusai to share his artistic ideas outside of his home country. In addition to the issue of physical distance, during the early 1800 s Japan was under a foreign policy called sakoku, which allowed no foreigner or Japanese person to enter or leave the country on penalty of death. Analysis Of John Updike s Araby John Updike s penchant for appropriating great works of literature and giving them contemporary restatement in his own fiction is abundantly documented as is the fact that, among his favorite sources, James Joyce looms large.[1] With special affinity for Dubliners, Updike has, by common acknowledgment, written at least one short story that strongly resembles the acclaimed Araby, not only in plot and theme, but in incidental detail. That story, the 1960 You ll Never Know, Dear, How Much I Love You like Araby tells the tale of a poor, romantically infatuated young boy who, though obstructed by parental slowness, journeys with innocent urgency, coins in hand, to a seemingly magical carnival only to find there, behind its facades, ... At 19, Updike s protagonist, Sammy, is a good bit older than Joyce s at the opposite end of adolescence, it would seem. While in Joyce s boy we readily believe such confusion between the gallant and profane, I think we needn t assume that Sammy is likewise unable to distinguish between the two quite normal impulses. His attraction to the girl in the aisle is certainly far more anatomically and less ambiguously expressed than that of Joyce s boy to Mangan s sister. But it is Beauty that confounds the issue. When human aesthetics come into play, when the object of a young man s carnal desire also gratifies him aesthetically, that is when the confusion arises. in Irish Catholic Dublin of the 1890s,[3] such youthful beauty not surprisingly invokes analogies between Mangan s sister and the Queen of Heaven (though the swinging of her body and the soft rope of her hair toss[ing] from side to side [Joyce 30]), which captivate the boy, hint at something less spiritual than Madonna worship). And while beauty s benchmarks in Sammy s more secular mid century America are more anatomical than spiritual, Updike does have Sammy call his young femme fatal Queenie, and he does make her the center of a trinity of sorts, showing her two friends at one point huddl[ing] against her for relief ( A P 189). The book s popularity is in countries like Chile, where Disney comics are so popular and effective at telling the story American popular culture wants to tell. The book discusses important and common themes throughout comics from Disney for example the lack of a father or direct family relation, for example, of siblings or a mother and father using only cousins or uncles to make characters expendable or easily replaceable. There other factors and themes in these comics, but characters like Donald Duck always seem to have the most fortunate of luck and have everything work out for them in the end. A rather boorish joke follows along the lines of arguing that the French have big heads only in order to accommodate their big mouths. This colloquial anecdote can be used to demonstrate that outsiders often view the behavior and policy of French government with contempt at their perceived arrogance. An example can be found in the case of Algeria s decolonization. The failures and arrogance of the French allowed insurgents to emerge the victors of the Algerian War of 1954 1962. God of Carnage Annette vs. Nancy When taking the time to examine the characters of Annette Reille, from the play, and Nancy Cowan, from Carnage, it is easy to find their likenesses, but there are also some noticeable differences. One of the main reasons for all of these differences is merely different interpretations of the character by different readers. For example, the tone in which certain lines are said or in the way a certain action is portrayed can change the whole personality of a character. When reading, the reader portrays each of the characters as he/ she believes them to be, but then another reader could have a difference of opinion and change the whole attitude; this was the case if you consider the readers to be myself and Kate Winslet. ... Through this statement, Socrates argument perfectly encapsulates the state that an unexamined society exists in one that values greatness over goodness. Though over two thousand years have passed since Socrates stated this before the Athenian court, it remains an accurate portrait of society; the majority of people amass material things, strive to become famous, and seemingly work only to gain wealth, all while hardly caring about knowledge, morals, or personal integrity. • 35. Living As A Lesbian, And August Jordan s A New Politics... The articles that stood out the most to me were Cheryl Clarke s Living As a Lesbian and June Jordan s A New Politics of Sexuality . These articles stood out, because while given a similar topic (lesbians) they both possessed very different, yet similar arguments. I found this interesting because it is a prime example of societies different views on controversial topics. Cheryl and June s articles contain many differences, similarities and information to be reflected on. Cheryl s main arguments are that everyone who loves women (whether its romantically, sexually, platonically, etc.) is a feminist and lesbians are all part of a rebellion. She states, No matter how a woman lives out her lesbianism she has rebelled against becoming the slave master s concubine, viz., the male dependent female, the female heterosexual. This gives evidence towards her argument that lesbians, regardless their intentions are resisting from the constructs that society wants them to adhere to. June would disagree with this statement, arguing that lesbians aren t solely out to rebel but are just pursuing their lives freely. Cheryl also points out that there is no one sort of lesbian and that whether you consider yourself a full blown lesbian or bisexual it doesn t change the fact that you are resisting against the heterosexual society. This being true, Cheryl Clarke also disagrees with the idea of bisexuality; whereas June Jordan identifies as bisexual. Following along with this Cheryl ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

There are very few people who wouldn t think about George Washington,John Adams and Thomas Jefferson when someone mentions the Founding Fathers. Without a doubt we can say that they were three very important men who greatly affected the independence of our country. Out of three, Washington and Jefferson are more talked about. They helped form this nation into a sovereign and free country. Both were great men who did so much to shape and protect this country and it is impossible to say that one did a better job than the other. • 40. Analysis Of Kenneth Branagh s Much Ado About Nothing Kenneth Branagh s Much Ado About Nothing is remarkably different in tone from the other plays discussed. Unlike the other two comedies, Taming of the Shrew and Merchant of Venice, there are far fewer comedic aspects that do not translate well to modern audiences. The film has much less violence in it than the others and even its chief villain is more like a cartoon villain than an outright evil manipulator. The tragedies are known for their fascinatingly complex villains such as Richard III or Iago, but Keanu Reeves Don John comes across as a character lost in the wrong movie. He lurks in the shadows and is not really given a compelling motive for his cruel actions. He does not even enact the rare few scenes of violence in the film. In a different play, the ineffectual portrayal of the villain could ruin the whole production, but Branagh understands that Much Ado About Nothing s most important parts are the dynamics between the two sets of couples, something this film does quite well. It is this toning down of violence and dark undertones that allows the film to be so successful. Claudio s striking of Hero is the most noticeable physical violence and it is quickly followed by a romantic scene between Beatrice and Benedick to restore the tone. It comes across well as a modern romantic comedy, with just enough darkness to drive the plot forward. To make the film darker than it has to be would diminish how enjoyable and fun to watch it is. Polytheism is the worshiping of many deities. With well over 2,000 gods and goddesses, the people of Egypt had plenty of super human beings to worship such as the farmers along the Nile who worshiped Hapi, the god of the Nile, to bring them floods to fertilize their soil for crops. In the second half of this book, the reader sees how Cath s relationship with her twin sister, Wren, is on unstable grounds. The sisters differing personalities and different opinions on what college life should be about, causes this rift between them. Cath s relationship with her mother begins to change also. Cath resents her mother because her mother left when she was eight. An example of the foreshadowing of the breakdown is Cath s father calling Cath sporadically. Often times, he would call Cath with unhinged ideas, seeking her opinion. He would also call Cath at bizarre times of the day, or he would go days without calling. One of the ideas he called Cath with was having a slide go down from her room to the bathroom. These details help to foreshadow to a possible mental crisis. The reader can also see foreshadowing for a mental breakdown in Cath s father s self care. Cath has to call him and remind him to eat healthy meals. When she does not call he eats pizza, does not do laundry, and overworks. When Cath goes to see her father, she sees empty pizza boxes and piles of laundry littering the floor. Cath s father s worsening standards of hygiene foreshadowed to a mental breakdown later in the book. Another evaluation I made is that the author wrote Levi as a foil to Cath. An example of Levi and Cath s contrasting characteristics is their reading habits. Levi dislikes reading because he feels like when he reads his eyes take in information but his brain does not understand. On the other hand, Cath is very passionate about reading. However, attempts to reform it or remove it, has become a controversial topic. Some critics believe that the removal of a bicameral government will be expensive, give the government too much power and reduce representation. Others consider the abolition of it to be more democratic and cheaper as it takes less time. This essay will discuss the requirement of the House of Lords considering its benefits and harms. It will also acknowledge its impacts on Westminster and Scottish Parliament, the power of the parliament and the legislative process of constitutional reform. (i) relative functions of Second Chamber in the UK Parliament and unicameral Scotland The UK Parliament is bicameral. It has two separate chambers; the House of Lords (upper house) and the House of Commons (lower house). The House of Lords is an unelected chamber totaling up to 790 members.
