The Three Peers Sparknotes
The story of The Three Musketeers, by Alexandre Dumas, follows the epic tale of D Artagnan, a
young and noble man who is incredibly skilled with a sword, and his quest to become a member of the
the Musketeers. He later meets three other musketeers who aid him in his journey, one of which is far
more mysterious and saddened than the rest named Athos who later reveals that he was hurt by a
woman who used love to blind him of her true intention to steal from his family. Through D artagnan s
journey, he uses similar tactics on several women to gather information on the whereabouts of his
kidnapped mistress and quickly neglects them and their feelings. When he finally finds her, she is
laying on the floor poisoned by one of the women he ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This idea of the main character being so close to achieving love but falling short causes the theme of
love being rare to illuminate. Alexandre Dumas conjured characters, D Artagnan and Athos, help
depict his vision of love being something that hurts the lover through the use of character personality.
Athos, the mysterious musketeer, drinks solemnly while his companions laugh and make jokes, and
despite his age being much younger than his companions, he acts much older and mature. For the
longest time there was no explanation for his troubles until he finally spills his past about his one and
only lover. After explaining that the woman he loved deceived him for his riches he explains, I tied her
hands behind her back and hung her from a tree. I murdered her. That cured me me of beautiful, poetic
and amorous women (253). From upon initial confrontation to Athos, the reader finally understands
the reasons for Athos contrasting personalities with his friends. He poured his love out for another
women who used it to blind him of her true intentions. He kills his love and is permanently scarred in
terms of his character being forever changed to the dark and saddened man the reader sees today. Not
only do we see that love is a force that hurts but also the character again see s how rare love truly is. D
Artagnan is not invulnerable to love s ability to hurt either. Though throughout the novel, D Artagnan
s composure is a headstrong,

Case Study Of Tao Kao Noi
Product Development Product development is the process of designing, creating and marketing new
products or services to benefit customers (TechTarget, 2015). Sometimes product development are

guiding all the processes involved in getting a new product to market. These processes start from
brainstorming idea on product; research on product; develop the product; testing; analysis; and lastly
is introduce the product on market. Product development is involves either on improving an existing
product or its presentation, or developing a new product to target a particular market segment or
segments. In this case study, the product development is mainly focused on improving existing
products, which are chestnuts and seaweed. During earlier stage in the video, the main actor, Top had

for Tao Kao Noi to position itself is due to Top want to sell it product in 7 Elevan, the largest outlet for

and create a small and convenient product as it is one of the requirement to sell in 7 Elevan. Product

Corporal Punishment Of Children.
Corporal Punishment of Children When I was in middle school at St. Mary s Catholic School, in
Ethiopia, I used to see our teachers using different techniques to punish my classmates. I remember an
incident in middle school where a friend of mine was punished in a harmful way because he failed to
answer a question. Although the use of corporal punishment in schools is intended to change the
behavior of the student, teachers should not be allowed to use this method to punish their students as it
is not effective for the child s behavioral change, and it affects the student s behavior psychologically
and physically.
To start with, allowing teachers to use the corporal punishment causes physical damage on the student
and abuses the child right. It is obvious that most punishments somehow results in pain. When I was
in middle school, our math teacher Ms. Helen used to order us to solve a question by writing on the
blackboard to show the other students. One day my classmate, Daniel was asked to solve a problem on
the board, but he didn t write a complete answer. Ms. Helen was so angry with him that she put her
pen between his pointing and middle fingers and twisted it so tight. We were so terrified because we
had never seen someone being punished like that before. Daniel couldn t move his fingers and was
taken to the hospital to fix his broken fingers. Our math teacher was fired right away for the excessive
use of force on

How Does Henry Reyna Make A Chicano
The Pachuco The Chicano way was the way it was during the 1940s in the city of Los Angeles. The
title of my book is Zoot Suit and Other Plays written by Luis Valdez. This story takes place on the
year 1942 in the city of Los Angeles, California. The way the story is that the main character of the

Alice Bloomfield worked for several months to get them out and after many protests and petitions the
38th street gang was released for lack of evidence to hold then guilty. The main character Henry
Reyna is very prideful, brings a big influence to his people, and very optimistic. . In the 1940 s there
were much of discrimination towards the Mexican race. Chicanos were discriminated by their
clothing. Chicanos found their clothing way of expression and a way of identifying themselves in their
Mexican American culture. Henry Reyna takes pride in his culture and his way of style. According to
an article the Pachuco style from 1940 s was the oversized zoo suits with their hats and their long
chains on the side of their body. This was how Henry dressed to impress. Dolores: Mira mojo. I know

Growing Up Poor
Essay Growing up poor affects the student s performance in school. Scientists have come into
conclusion that growing up poor harms the children s brain development. To prove the study, they
tested on 389 people ranging from ages 4 22. They were being tested for about 2 years. They would be
tested on their gray matter volume in their temporal lobe. After scanning various areas of the brain,
researchers came to the conclusion that children who were raised below the poverty line had 8 10
percent less gray matter in comparison to the person who was not raised below the poverty line. Those
only 50 percent above the poverty line showed gray matter volumes 3 to 4 percent below the norm.
This study signifies that according to the research, those

Taking a Look at Big Data
The amount of data in our world has been rapidly increasing and analyzing these large data sets, or big
data, has become crucial for businesses in increasing their success. Many businesses use big data to
model their business structures, control processes, and run the business. The availability of this data
leads to a more accurate analysis of the target market. More accurate analyses lead to more confident
decision making and better decisions means greater operational efficiencies, cost reductions and
reduced risk. There are many ways in which big data can be successfully implemented in an
organization. Big data allows businesses to segment their target market, creating more precisely
tailored products and services. Big data is also used to conduct controlled experiments to make better
management decisions. Finally, big data can unlock value by making the captured information
transparent and usable at much higher frequency (Manyika, Big data: The next frontier for innovation,
competition, and productivity ). Currently, businesses are so overwhelmed with the sheer size of
information that big data collects that they fail to successfully utilize this data. Businesses are
increasingly turning to big data based visualization tools to better utilize this information.
Visualization based data tools allow businesses to combine data sources to create custom analytical
views that are flexible and easy to use. These visualization data tools are intended to analyze the three

Sundiata Myths
The world of ancient Africa is a foreign one to many who do not live on the continent. The concept
that Africa was once rather like Europe in its many medieval kingdoms, and their upheavals and
struggles to be the greatest power, is not widely considered by the general population. Ancient Africa
was a place of great tales, heroes, and conquests however. The memories of these still linger even
today. The storytellers of Africa are griots. They are a mysterious group, who hold the legends and
history of Africa, and orally pass them down father to son through the generations. One of these great
stories is the Epic of Sundiata. Maghan Mari Djata, commonly known as Sundiata or Sundiata Keita,
was a prince of the state Mail, who created the empire of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As this legend is so well known, and has been told so many times, it is difficult to separate fact from
fiction. The Epic of Sundiata, is still however a gold mine of true knowledge if one only sorts out the
myths and pyrite. Still that is not so simple a task. The epic was for the longest time an oral tradition,
told by the griots to the villages and cities they lived in. The original griot of the story lived it, and
although the epic has most likely been added to for dramatic effect over the centuries, the original tale
must have been much closer to the truth. There is some doubt however over the legitimacy of some
parts of the story. In the epic Sundiata and his main rival Soumaoro, are accomplished sorcerers
(particularly Soumaoro), as well as other women magicians in the story. It is in fact very unlikely that
Sundiata and Soumaoro communicated by familiars (animals that supposedly lend their sight, hearing,
and speaking to the sorcerers who control them, in this case Soumaoro s owl), or that Soumaoro was
invincible for their first couple battles, Nor is it probable that Sundiata s mother was possessed by an

Rosh Hashanah Research Paper
Being both Jewish and American, we have take part in celebrating two New years one in January and
the other generally in September. Despite the fact that the both holidays ring in the new year and we
get a break from school, Rosh Hashanah holds a different and deeper meaning.
On the surface both holidays seem to be the same: there are resolutions, there are celebrations taking
place, and we bustle around to prepare for coming holidays. However, when you take a closer look
you can see that these are only shallow similarities. Both on New Years and on Rosh Hashana we
make resolutions, promising to begin to better ourselves. However on New Years our resolutions are
for us. We make promises to ourselves. When we make resolutions they not only involve but a second
party as well. They also involve hashem. We promise to try and keep his mitzvot better. The promises
we make on rosh hashanah are not only for us but also for Hashem. On New Years the promises we

for rosh Hashanah we either spend hours in the kitchen cooking up a storm or we make a run to the
supermarket for some more apples and honey or brainstorming a new fruit. Or perhaps we are sending
a text or making a phone call to any and everyone we know, asking for their forgiveness. We are
pushing ourselves to be ready, making ourselves the best we can, giving Hashem reasons to inscribe
our name in the Book of Life. This is something you can find every Jew doing on the eve of Rosh
Hashanah. However, when it comes to dealing with the secular New Year, things are quite different.
Firstly, the hustle and bustle of getting ready for a party is not required, some people opt to stay at
home and watch the ball drop on their TV. Secondly, there is no asking friends and family and teachers
and classmates to forgiveness. We do not worry about Hashem judging us, and there is no anxiety
about being written in the book of

Myth Of Korea Essay
Grains have been one of the most important staples of the Korean diet. Early myths of the foundations
of various kingdoms in Korea center on grains. One foundation myth relates to Jumong, who received
barley seeds from two doves sent by his mother after establishing the kingdom of Goguryeo.[4] Yet
another myth speaks of the three founding deities of Jeju Island, who were to be wed to the three
princesses of Tamna; the deities brought seeds of five grains which were the first seeds planted, which
in turn became the first instance of farming.[5]
During the pre modern era, grains such as barley and millet were the main staples and were
supplemented by wheat, sorghum, and buckwheat. Rice is not an indigenous crop to Korea, and millet
was likely the preferred grain before rice was cultivated. Rice became the grain of choice during the
Three Kingdoms period, particularly in the Silla and Baekje Kingdoms in the southern regions of the
peninsula. Rice was such an important commodity in Silla that it was used to pay taxes. The Sino
Korean word for tax is a compound character that uses the character for the rice plant. The preference
for rice escalated into the Joseon period, when new methods of cultivation and new varieties emerged
that would help increase production.[6] ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The most traditional method of cooking the rice has been to cook it in an iron pot called a sot (솥) or
musoe sot (무쇠솥). This method of rice cookery dates back to at least the Goryeo period, and these
pots have even been found in tombs from the Silla period. The sot is still used today, much in the same
manner as it was in the past

A Political Allegory In George Orwell s Animal Farm
George Orwell s novel, Animal Farm, was his very first piece of political writing. On the surface, this
novel is about a group of miserable and mistreated farm animals that overthrow their neglectful
owner; they take control of the farm. However, it too is a political allegory mainly focusing on the
Russian Revolution. Orwell wrote Animal Farm in response to what had occurred in the Russian
Revolution. Seeing how the people were being manipulated over for their freedom, he decided to write
about these events through farm animals. The author s purpose of writing this novel is to warn his
audience that power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Orwell s intent on fusing
political purpose and artistic purpose into one whole, was truly successful.
A year after Orwell published Animal Farm, he published Why I Write. He used his autobiographical
essay to establish clarification on the political meanings of his various creations. After Animal Farm
was published, his audience was left with many questions and no answers to the reasoning behind
Orwell s thoughts. In response to all this confusion Orwell wrote Why I Write. This autobiographical
essay is about the evolution of his writing career. The author s purpose for Why I Write is to provide a
deeper understanding and reasoning for the messages his art contains. Orwell created non fictional text
to expose the truth behind his fictional works. Orwell s artistic purpose for animal farm was to create a

Non Verbal Communication Essay
Communication is a complex activity which involve verbal and non verbal communication, the topic
under discussion, the prejudgments that people bring to the topic, and the communication history
between participants in the discussion. A Speaker who transmits message must ensure that the
message is delivered clearly. A listener who takes the messages must be an active listener. As effective
communication can only take place when the recipient of the message understands it s meaning and
able to express that meaning back to the speaker or sender of the message. (Flexstudycom.2015).
2.1 Types of Communication People communicate with each other in a number of ways that depend
upon the message and its context in which it is being sent. There are basically 2 categories of
communication channel:

Mortgage Loan Fraud and Its Impact on the Worldwide...
Mortgage loan fraud is a common and often overlooked crime; it is taking place with increased
prevalence today, due to the predominance of third party loan originators (both brokers and conduit

title companies, and others; in most cases it is overlooked by individuals, corporations, and law
enforcement because it is seen as a victimless crime . In recent years, the booming real estate market

A duped buyer has no cash or good credit, and has been induced into buying a home at an inflated
price with the incentive of no money down. Fraud for profit is often supported by inflated appraisals,
false income statements or verifications of income, and/or false verification of deposits to deceive out
of town lenders. There are four major subcategories of obvious fraud: Appraisal fraud. This is
frequently associated with the aforementioned property flipping. Lenders rely on accurate appraisals
to ensure that loans are fully secured. In appraisal fraud, appraisers fail to accurately evaluate the
property; this may be unintentional, or they may intentionally become a party to a fraud scheme begun
by the lender or borrower. Identity theft. This is very common in both the real estate and credit card
markets, and involves a borrower who assumes the identity of another person in order to secure a loan.
The thieves take the overage and run. Both victims (the bank and the person whose identity was
stolen) typically incur financial losses. Cash back schemes. Here, the price of a property is illegally
inflated in order to provide a cash back transaction to the participants. Many times, the borrower will
receive a rebate which is hidden from the lender and not stated on the HUD 1. In this situation, the
lender is bamboozled into lending more than the actual property value, and the buyer and/or
participants benefit financially.

Prescription Over Counter Drugs Essay
Prescription and over the counter drugs. If you asked the vast majority of people in the US if there a

chance of it harming you in any way. But just last year the FDA has strengthen the warning on all
NSAID s. NSAID s stand for non steroidal anti inflammatory drugs, and ibuprofen lands in that
category. While many people don t take medicine that say ibuprofen many you might be taking
something like Motrin or Advil, and these to fall into the category of NSAID s. The fact that there is a
very small amount of education on this subject surprises me. Many people know that abusing the big

The Renaissance Italian City Of Italy
Raphael was born in the Renaissance Italian city state of Urbino in central Italy. Urbino was said to be
one of the cultural centers of Italy, a place where artists went to be successful. His father, Giovanni,
was a painter and poet for the local Duke. As at a young age, Raphael started leaning basics of
painting from his father. His father died when he was 11 years old. Even after the death of his father,
Raphael never gave up on art. Working out of his father s workshop, he improved his artistic skills. He
was said to be the most talented artist in his town as of that time. When he turned 17 he moved to
Perugia a city in Italy. While in Perugia he worked with Pietro Perugino an artist that had a huge
reputation in the art industry at that time. While maintaining and developing his unique style, he also
leant form Perugino. In 1504 Raphael moved to Florence where we has considered a master painter. It
was said that even as a master artist, it never stopped him from studying other great artist such as
Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo. He incorporated the influence of this grates artists in his work
which made him one of the greatest icon of his time (getty.edu).
While he worked on lots of great paintings in his career I m going to focuses on a specific one, The

Lifestyle Magazine As An Example
Using Lifestyle magazine as an example, explore how media texts target specific audience.
Lifestyle magazine are magazines that tells the audience about the lifestyle they live and can have an
impact on their lives as their views can be subverted by the ideology of the magazine. This ideology
comes from the creators of the magazine; they put what they think instead of what the public thinks
about a certain topic. In this writing i am going to talk about what the lifestyle magazines do in order
to attract specific audience and how they achieve in targeting specific audience.
The two lifestyle magazines that i am going to talk about are FHM and Cosmopolitan magazine.
These magazines were released on november 2013 and the target audience between the two has links
and oppositions. On both magazines, the central image is the image of females; which suggests that
these magazines are targeted at female. But, on the front of these magazines it is a picture of seductive
females which implies that the audience is different and possibly males as they would get attracted.
I am going to start by analysing how FHM targets their audience and keep their loyalty so that they
would not look for another magazine to replace the FHM magazine they currently hold. This magazine
is promoting anti feminism as the main central image is of a woman with a seductive look which is
representing woman in a negative manner. Also, further connotes objectification of woman as the

Wayne Williams Evidence
When Wayne Williams was trialed for the death of two victims, DNA testing was not a reliable source
in courtrooms as evident (Polk, 2015). A conviction could have been rendered without the fiber
evidence in this case. The prosecution had a strong case in providing the evidence from the DNA of
the hair obtained from the crime scene. On February 13, 1981, when Patrick Baltazar s body was
found dumped down a wooded slope behind an office park (Polk, 2015). A forensic scientist
discovered two human scalp hairs inside Baltazar s shirt. The DNA sample was tested under a

Another major evidence were also dog hairs on the body of Baltazar. In 2007, the dog hair sample was
sent to a genetics laboratory at the University of California School of Veterinary Medicine of Davis
(Polk, 2010). It was confirmed that Williams German Shepherd had the same DNA sequence. The lab
reported that DNA chain could only be found in 1 out of 100 dogs (Polk, 2015). A major factor, in this
case, was multiple jurisdictions for conviction, not the forensic evidence. It was ruled and confirmed
by scientists that the hair evidence in the Baltazar murder to be the strongest of this case (Polk, 2010).
Consequently, the trial took place in Fulton County Court, one of the largest parts of Atlanta. Baltazar
s body had been found just over the line in the DeKalb County portion of Atlanta. Due to a different
jurisdiction, trying to include his death among the Fulton County charges would have raised legal
issues (Polk, 2010). The lack of this critical scientific evidence made it hard to convict Williams of
this murder and other murders in the state of

Macro Periodization
After reading the Macro Periodization paper, it surprises me how much planning and precision go into

Hospital Birth Defects
Birth Defects Associated With Out Of Hospital Births
At a point in history, Homebirths and Midwives were prevalent when delivering. However; the use of
these two methods plateaued as many people were concerned with the health of the infants and the
mothers. The ultimate goal of delivery is the safety and protection of both the mother and the child.
For a time, and still to this day, women turned to hospitals to ensure that safety. However, as a new
wave of feminism has empowered mothers to take control of the natural birthing process, more and
more women are reverting back to the home birth method. Though homebirth goes smoothly for most
mothers, there is always the potential for complications that many mothers are not prepared to handle.

However, the best choice should be the one that achieves the ultimate goal of the safe delivery. The
statistics hold the records and can be paramount for a mother who wants to make the decision. The
figures indicate that birth at home is risky when compared to birth in the hospital mostly where there
are a delivery complications, and emergency services are needed. According to the Federal birth
registers, out of a thousand babies born at home, 3.9 would likely to have birth defects mostly
associated with delivery emergency and complications. On the other hand, the same statistics claim
that for the hospital based deliveries, only 1.8 of one thousand babies faced birth related defects
(Mathews, Curtin through Friday, 2015). The statists also point out that there is a high risk of
deficiency when the baby is born at home than when born in the hospital environment. The defects as
result of childbirth related complication are high in midwives attended birth than those delivery
process carried out in hospital when there is an emergency. Statisticians document 7 defects per one
thousand deliveries that have associated birth complications with deliveries attended by midwives.
According to the statistics done in the years 2016 by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention,

A Classroom At An American Public School
A typical classroom in an American public school holds a group of students with a myriad of diverse
learning needs. Each class is likely to consist of some visual learners, some auditory learners, and
some hands on learners. Some students may work best in groups, while others work best
independently. Some students may do well with mathematics and logic but poorly with visual spatial
skills, or any combination of the multiple intelligences. It seems to be common knowledge among
teachers that these needs must be met, and in turn teachers write and teach a wide variety of lessons to
accommodate all of their students, and there are a wide variety of resources available to teachers to
help them do so. It is important to note, however, that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Whether these students are spending a small portion of the day or the entire day in the classroom,
teachers should take care to address the needs of these students as best they can. While there is always
room for improvement with how these students are included in the class, the American public school
system has come a long way. In order to best understand inclusion of students with significant learning
needs in a public school classroom and the progress that has been made, it is important to have a solid
understanding of the history of public education in the United States, and the progress that has been
made.
The history of public education in America starts with the Puritans in the 1600s in New England. At
this time, the primary goal of education was to teach children to read and understand the Bible in order
to ward off Satan. The first act that mandated education was the Massachusetts Act of 1642 that
required parents to be sure that their children knew the principles of religion and the capital laws of
the commonwealth (Matzat, 2009). A notable point about this act is that it did not really address
school at all, only stating that parents were responsible for the education of their children. The idea
behind this was that if all citizens understood laws and scripture, they would in turn abide by those
laws. In 1647, the Old Deluder Satan Act was established, creating the foundation of public education
as we know it today (Matzat, 2009). This act required

Informative Speech For Human Trafficking
All lives matter.
What s the word that describes someone who thinks that the world revolves around them? Self
centered? Egocentric? Narcissist? Vain? Self seeking? Selfish? Hm. Is that too harsh? We live in
society today where we are only concerned about ourselves. Somehow, we have adopted the mentality
that life revolves strictly around me and what I want. We are so consumed with ourselves that we have
totally forgotten about the thousands of people who struggle every day for their life. Who are these
people that I am talking about? The people who are promised a better life but instead are trapped into
this terrible system where they are forced to do things they never knew about. This system is called
Human trafficking. Today, I would like to convince you that this world does not revolve around you.
What exactly is human trafficking? We have all heard of it, but what actually is it. It s a modern form
of slavery. It involves controlling a person through force, fraud, or coercion to exploit the victim for
forced labor, sexual exploitation, or both. It strips victims of their freedom and violates our nation s
promise that every person in the U.S. is guaranteed basic human rights. This is a crime (Beccera).
Sadly, the United States is widely regarded as a destination country for human trafficking. According
to the federal reports, nearly 14,500 to 17,500 victims are trafficked in the United States annually.
That doesn t even include the number of victims that are trafficked WITHIN the United States. If you
are looking for a defined definition of human trafficking, California legislatures states it as being ALL
acts involved in the recruitment, abduction, transport, harboring, transfer, sale or receipt of persons,
within national or across international borders, through force, coercion, fraud or deception, to place
persons in situations of slavery or slavery like conditions, forced labor or services, such as forced
prostitution or sexual services, domestic servitude, bonded sweatshop labor, or other debt bondage.
(Beccera) This is a crime that needs to come to an end. While we look at human trafficking as just one
thing, there are various types of this crime. One, is sex trafficking. When you hear of

The Effects Of Housing Prices On Household s Consumption
2 Literature Review
Housing is always regarded as a main fortune of family. Thus the changes of housing price will affect
household s consumption a lot (Duli et al.,2010). Theoretically, the rise of housing price can boost
the households spending by wealth effect and collateral effect , it also can constrain consumer
spending by liquidity restrain effect or substitute effect . The rise of housing price will raise family s
current fortune or improve the collateral scale which will enhance family s borrowing capacity
(Aoki,2002) and promote households consumption (Iacoviello,2004, Lindner,2014). But, on the
other hand, for those non owned housing families, they are forced to pay more rent or to save more
due to the rise of housing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In addition, more households report they would cut back consumption as a direct response to house
price falls than to house price rise (Mastrogiacomo, M., et al,2006, Gathergood,2012). Relaxations
of credit constraints are more likely explains for the observed correlation between wealth and
consumption (Atalay, Whelan et al.,2014). some scholars suggest liberate finacial constraint to
enhance the average consumption to income ratio (Aron, Duca et al.,2012, Atalay, Whelan et al.,
2013). Gathergood, J. (2012) condemned the borrowing constraint which results the cut of household
consumption. there was no housing wealth effect before credit market liberalization in the US and the
UK (Muellbauer,2008). The interaction between housing prices and household borrowing was
substantially weaker before the financial deregulation in Finnish (Oikarinen,2009).
Some scholars show their doubts to the wealth effect . Phang, S.Y. (2004) finds no evidence that house
price increases have produced either wealth or collateral enhancement effects on aggregate
consumption because housing is regarded as a kind of uncertain and risky asset which eventually
constrain consumption whether the anticipation to housing price is rise or fall. Once we control for the
endogeneity bias resulting from the correlation between housing wealth

Fraternal Twins Nature Vs Nurture
Twins are a unique twist to life. Families are blessed with one pregnancy and two children. Twins
open a portal for researchers to study the oldest debate in psychology; nature vs. nurture, a concept
that seems to stump many and have few models to learn from. Essentially, there are two types of
twins. There are identical twins, who are monozygotic, developing from a single fertilized egg, split.
Then, there are fraternal twins, who come from two separate fertilized eggs, making them dizygotic.
Identical twins share 100% of their DNA, practically making them clones; while fraternal twins share
50% DNA. When studying twins, many scientists use both identical and fraternal twins to analyze
how the environment and genetic makeup can influence attitude ... Show more content on

Twin studies are vital for behavioral genetics in the sense that researchers can study how genetics can
influence certain traits. For example, identical twins many be raised in the same household and both
enjoy horseback riding, while a set of fraternal twins may not both enjoy horseback riding. The
standard study conducted is based on twins raised in the same family environment, as this method can
show how life experiences play a role. Many twins are raised in the same home and share a lot of the
same experiences, which can impact their behavior, no matter the genetic makeup. A significant theory
associated with twin studies is the Random Mating theory. In this theory, researchers tend to assume
that people are as likely to choose partners who are different from themselves as they are to choose
partners who are similar for a particular trait (2017). While twin studies are essential in gathering data
for behavioral genetics, they can only estimate the heritability of a trait, while molecular genetics
attempts to pinpoint the effects of a particular gene. While twins who grow up in a similar
environment is the ideal method used, there are cases that involve twins who grew up in separate
environments. In Joseph s (2014) piece, he reviews common facts and fallacies associated with studies
on twins reared apart. It was found that, a particular study,

Cialis The Newest ED treatment for Men
Erectile dysfunction is more of an emotional setback rather than a physical disorder for men. In
layman terminology, it means the persistent inability of men to get or maintain an erection throughout
the intercourse and inability to attain sexual fulfillment. Erection requires an accurate sequence of
physiological processes. If any of these processes get interrupted, it leads to erectile dysfunction or

Analysis Of The Poem Jabberwocky By Lewis Carroll
In his poem Jabberwocky , Lewis Carroll tells the tale of a boy warned by his father of the dangerous
creatures that lurk outside, where then the boy goes out and slays one of the most dangerous, therefore
receiving praise and gratitude from his father. Carroll utilizes sound in the form of made up words,
rhyme, and tone to create a fanciful atmosphere that exploits our fear and curiosity to develop a theme
of good versus evil. In this context, man is seen as good while beast is viewed as evil. This poem takes
place in a make believe world formulated in Carroll s imagination. Going along with the fanciful
setting are the fanciful words that the author created just for this poem. He uses portmanteaus to adjust
adjectives to fit into his fantastical setting. His first portmanteau is slithy (line 1). This is a
combination of lithe and slimy . He s using this to describe the toves (a type of badger) and by
creating this new word, it better fits into his make believe world. The motions of your mouth and
tongue when saying the word slithy simply feel the same as the word s meaning; your tongue moves
forward and back actively as lithe implies, while the slimy part comes with feeling that the word is
smooth, it slips with your tongue as you say it. This adds to the poem s sound because this single word
adds texture and meaning to the poem. Another example of a portmanteau is frumious (line 8). A
combination of fuming and furious, this special word gives a

Why The 2016 Election Is Different
The upcoming United States 2016 presidential election is different from previous elections in many
ways. First, the importance of money has decreased more than expected. It was believed that the
candidate with the most financial backing, had a larger advantage. According to Why the 2016
Election is Different , Gerald F. Seib explained how the financial front runner of the republican bid,
Governor Jeb Bush of Florida, ran an unsuccessful presidential campaign. Seib also explained how
Governor Scott Walker of Minnesota lost his presidential bid, while being backed by a heavily funded
super PAC. Money does not always determine a winner in the election process. In my opinion, being
financially supported is still key in running a successful campaign.

The Golden Glove Short Story
The Golden Glove
I thought that everything had been a dream until I heard it... Practice! It was an extremely rainy day
and the ground was like stepping into tiny lakes. I was caught up in the moment when I remembered
that you need a glove to play baseball. I knew that rain could ruin your glove but I couldn t get the
sight of a perfectly stitched, woven, and laced glove being destroyed.
On the long drive to practice I watched as the enormous drops of rain were impeded by the windshield
and wiped away. My teammates were in the back of the car cracking jokes and singing to whatever
was on the radio. The drive went quick and when we arrived my mom exclaimed, Have fun at
practice!
Thanks! I muttered back.

I replied, Wet! But fun. My glove is ruined.
She answered back, There s nothing that would have ruined it. We just need to hang it up so it can air
dry.
Okay, I replied.
She walked down the stairs and into the laundry room, myself just a couple steps behind her. She
walked into the laundry room and snatched my glove out of my hands. As I watched her hang it she
was quiet and then left the room and went back upstairs.
I rearranged my baseball bag and left it outside in the garage. I came in the house a couple of times to
make sure that my glove was still in the laundry room. My baseball glove was slowly changing colors
back into a maroon. It dried for a couple days and the time went by slower than a turtle trying to run a
race.
When the glove was finally dry I oiled it and tightened up the laces. My baseball glove ended up being
okay. I was delighted when my glove still fit because I thought that it would shrink. I am very
protective over my glove and that is probably why I still use it

not complying with the Maryland state tax. McCulloch was sued for violating this Act. McCulloch
admitted he was not complying with the Maryland law. McCulloch lost in the Baltimore County Court

Benefits Of Farming In The Southern Colonies
The weather and land in the southern colonies was ideal for growing crops and ideal for farming. The
climate in the southern colonies had plenty of rain and the weather was warm most of the time. Slaves
were able to work all year long due to the climate. The plantation owners were able to produce large
amounts of tobacco and cotton. Having slaves do the work gave plantation owners free labor, which
made them rich Southern plantation owners. Without slavery the plantation owners would not have
become rich and they would not have had the money to purchase more slaves. In the Northern
Colonies the climate did not allow for farming all year long. The North needed slaves with multiple
skills that for slave labor was much less due to the type of work that was being done in the North.
Some of the benefits and disadvantages to enslaved Africans that came from living in the South or in
the North are listed below. In the South growing rice was more difficult and tough than growing crops
in the North ( Carson, p. 76). More slaves died in the South trying to grow rice because of the weather
conditions, which led to other disease that killed them ( Carson, ... Show more content on

Biblical Interpretations Of Samson s Biblical Quotions
Biblical Quotations
Samson broke one of his three Nazirite vows: eating anything that is unclean, especially anything
associated with the corpse of an animal or human. His vows are brought up earlier in Judges 13 and
even earlier in Numbers 6: 6 8 and Samson breaks this vow in Judges 14: 5 9. This is where the
narrator is speaking and says starting in verse 8, he turned aside to see the carcass of the lion, and
there was a swarm of bees in the body of the lion, and honey. He scraped it out into his hands, eating
as he went (NRSV).
Samson seems to break another Nazirite vow in Judges 14: 10 11 when the narrator says, Samson s
father goes down to arrange for the marriage, and Same made a feast was was the custom for
weddings. The word feast in this context suggests a drinking fest the Nazirite vow says in Judges 13:4,
be careful not to drunk wine or strong drink and clarifies more in Number 6: 3 4.
Foreshadowing
In the TLB version, Samson s parents ask him right away in the beginning, Why must you go and get
a wife from these heathen Philistines? From experience, my parents seem to always be right, so after
reading that dialogue, I saw some foreshadowing to Samson s wife doing bad things.
When he is basing his riddle off of a story, the vocabulary and motifs foreshadow the ultimately
deadly encounter between Samson and the Philistines if I were to keep reading into chapter 15.
The riddle also tragically foreshadows his demise by revealing that

What Are The Barriers Of Gender Equality
Today, the world is not doing as well as people would like: gender equality has yet to be achieved,
climate change is putting millions at risk, two hundred million people are unemployed, and people are
more stressed than ever. Trying to solve these world challenges, people are working more and more
hours, yet little progress is being made. The solution is rather simple: work less.
Women around the world are under represented in the workforce, making up less than 20% of CEO
positions, and, in America, fewer than 20% of Congressional positions are filled by women. Reasons
for this lack of representation may be due to prejudice, but it is important to recognize that women are
viewed as the primary child caregiver in most families. For this reason, many women take off work
for several months after childbirth and are often thwarted from higher positions because they take
leave. If both males and females had shorter work weeks, then both genders would be able to devote
more time to child care, allowing women to continue to work sooner and progress in their fields. In
addition, studies have shown that men who take paternity leave are more devoted to their families and
are 50% more likely to help their wives with domestic labor, such as cooking, cleaning, and laundry.
Thus, the shorter work week would lead to both equal representation in the work place and at home,
subsequently, breaking the barriers of gender inequality.
Shorter work weeks will not only benefit parents, but they

Examples Of I Am Malala
After reading the book I Am Malala I noticed that she was one of the bravest strong young girls in the
world. Malala Yousafzai is a young girl born on July 12, 1997, in the city, Mingora in Pakistan. She
fought for something that is she is passionate about. Heroes are people who stand up for something,
they are courageous, they are noble and they are loyal to something they stand for. Malala is known as
the fifteen year old girl who got shot because she fought for women s rights and education. This young
girl named Malala is brave, persistent, and influential. One of the reasons why Malala is a hero
because she shows courage and bravery through her actions. First of all, Malala kept going to her
school even though death threats kept coming to her and to her family. This shows that Malala is brave
because she did not care what the Taliban did she cared more about her education even though the
Taliban kept threatening her. Secondly, when the Taliban began to attack the girl s school, she gave a

treated like a slave under the Taliban s threat to oppose her education. This means, that although this

after all the threats her family had received, she was frightened because the Taliban would go after her

Hunger, By Christina Rossetti
Hunger plays an important role in every person s life. Everyone experiences hunger in one way or
another, whether it be physical or even mental/emotional states of hunger and longing. In Goblin
Market by Christina Rossetti, hunger takes on an atypical but major part in the poem. The role of
hunger in Goblin Market is much more than solely physical hunger; rather, it is representative of
desperate and harmful longing in a never ending cycle of desire for more shown through various
elements of the language used in the poem. The poem begins with goblin men describing the fruits
they are selling while two sisters, Laura and Lizzie, unsuccessfully attempt to avoid them. The sisters

As the poem continues, Laura s hunger only grows more intense. She looks up at the goblin men as
they entice her and repeatedly tell her to come buy their fruits. Lizzie tells her not to fall into their
trap, but Curious Laura chose to linger (69). The words curiosity and linger show that Laura s hunger
has not yet become strong, as she is only beginning to become interested at this point. In other words,
they depict that Laura is slowly becoming drawn in by the goblin men; it wasn t an immediate switch
from completely uninterested to strong desire. While she is not eagerly pursuing the goblin men, she is
lingering around them and isn t actively avoiding them anymore. She wonders what their gifts are and
will do for her, so she stays around longer than she should. If Rossetti omitted or changed the words
curious or linger, the meaning of this line would greatly differ. As Laura realizes cannot have their
fruits, she only becomes more engrossed by them as her hunger grows immensely.
By the time Laura makes the decision to purchase the fruits from the goblins, her hunger has grown so
rapidly and strongly for the fruits that she is willing to give up a nearly priceless part of herself to
experience their taste. The goblins tell her that because she has no money, she must give up a lock of
her golden hair. While this upsets her and she sheds a tear, she does not

They are directly controlled by DNA specific sequencing and coding. Since proteins are influenced by
DNA, their profiles, also known as proteomes, are indicative of evolutionary and genetic relatedness.
These proteomes vary from cell to cell, as the function of each group of cells is different. Proteomics
refers to the study of protein structure, function, and interaction within a certain environment in an
organism.
The purpose of this experiment is to perform a procedure known as SDS PAGE (sodium dodecyl
sulfate polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis) in order to determine protein profiles for seven fish
species: Yellow Tuna (Thunnus albacares), Thresher Shark (Alopias vulpinus), Paiche (Arapaima
gigas), Swordfish (Xiphias gladius), Catfish (Ameiurus catus), Coho Salmon (Oncorhynchus kisutch),
and Rainbow Trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss). The gel electrophoresis separates the fish muscle proteins
according to their molecular weights, which allows one to determine a profile for each specie.
The goal of this experiment is to extract proteins from fish muscle tissue, unfold and denature them,
load them for gel electrophoresis, and determine the success in our efforts to classify and compare fish
muscle protein profiles. These protein profiles will help establish the shared characteristics and
evolutionary relationships between any two given fish species.

particular statement ultimately started a battle for player liberty and benefits in baseball. This paper
will be diving into the ideals and ramifications behind his choice to dispute the sport of baseball, the
context of American society around the time of the issue and its relationship, the main events
involving Flood s actions, the labor dispute, Flood v. Kuhn case along with other critical elements in
the main body, the progression of this topic in discussion, and a recap of the topic and its significance
in relation to contemporary American society in conclusion. This topic represents a time in which
athletes, in this case baseball players, did not have a free choice when it came to having the liberty of
deciding where they would like to play. The main concepts that will be described within this paper
will include the reserve clause, Flood v. Kuhn case, MLBPA, lockouts, or strikes, and free agency. The
reserve clause sought to restrict a player s freedom to move into a contract with another team. Flood v.
Kuhn was the huge case where Flood went against the power of baseball s commissioner and took the
case up to the Supreme Court. The MLBPA is important because it is the players union for when they

Positive Characteristics Of A Good Teacher
Being 19 and graduated from highschool I ve had my fair share of good and bad teachers. I feel like
the main 4 effective characteristics of a teacher are, a good communicator, a good listener, being
understandable, and having good sense of humor. Being a good communicator plays a huge role into
being an effective teacher. Many students will have tons of questions, and you re not able to answer
those questions in an effective way then you re setting your kid up for failure. Also, being able to
communicate doesn t just mean being able to talk with students, you have to also deal with parents and
be able to talk with on a professional level. Being able to communicate is one of the top things a
teacher should have down and ready to go once school starts. Being a good listener to me, shows that
you actually care what the student have to say. In my past I ve teachers who didn t even bother to care
what I said, so I took that as disrespect and why should I show you respect if it s not coming back the
other way? As a teacher you have to realize students care a lot about what they tell you and they trust
you that you re listening. No, you re not going to remember every little thing a kid tells you, but at that
moment they expect you just to listen and give some type of reaction or response. With being
understandable I take it from a personal experience. When I was younger my family was going

Guru Hargobind And Mirhavan s Sikh Gurus
Guru Hargobind and Mirhavan had different visions of Sikhism in the early seventeenth century, they
had alternative characteristics and traits that made them differ as Sikh Gurus from each other (54).
They were both rival Sikh gurus who were cousins as well. Guru Hargobind and Mirhavan had
distinctive views of lifestyle and appearance on being a Sikh guru. Moreover, the differences in the
Sikh community was formed through traits and the personalities of the militancy being taught. The lay
followers were the targets of these two separate entities and the beginnings to large public debates
were to attempt, in order to understand Sikhism. Continuing, the lifestyle choices for the Sikh
community was focused on being spiritual and how it would affect the community. Continuing, both
Guru Hargobind and Miharavan had different visions to a dispute and solve problems that would take
place. For example, on rival arguments in a Sikh community affected throughout cultures of violence
(54). The major issue on their claims is the way it is represented throughout previous Sikh gurus. This
also had a spiritual authority over the Sikh community. Guru Hargobind was more of the militant

Persuasive Essay On The Death Penalty
Throughout centuries of crime, the death sentence is handed to those who commit the worst of them.
Capital punishment is a special case in which the highest degree of a crime is committed, and the
criminal is then sentenced to death. However, Criminal punishment is a huge source of controversy in
the United States. Opponents often argue that innocent people are sometimes executed and that the
main motive is revenge, not true justice. Those who support the death penalty debate that the
punishment offers retribution for victims of murder and is more cost efficient than offering life
sentences in prison. Whether or not the death penalty will remain legal in the United States has yet to
be seen.
The very first death penalty started in the 18th Century B.C., when it was termed during Hammurabi s
rule in Babylon. During the 5th Century B.C., Athenians used the death penalty for all crimes, using
beatings and impalements. By the 1700s, Britain reformed the death penalty, eliminating almost 50%
of criminals for heavy crime. America s death penalty is influenced from Britain, making up over half
of the methods used today. When European settlers came to America, capital punishment was
practiced. The first recorded death sentence was George Kendall in 1608 at Jamestown, Virginia. He
was executed for being a spy for Spain. In 1612, Virginia Governor Thomas Dale enacted the death
penalty for minor offenses. Laws regarding the death penalty varied among colonies. Massachusetts

The Tell-Tale Heart
The short occipitovertebral artery separates into two arteries: the occipital artery and the vertebral
artery, which connects to the skull and vertebral column respectively. The top of the right and left vena
cava are connected to the jugular vein and flow into the lingual vein from the mouth and maxillary
vein. The internal jugular vein however; as well as the subscapular vein from the shoulder, receive
blood from the innominate vein. The blood flows directly into the subclavian vein, formed by the
musculocutaneous veins from the muscles of the skin of the side and back, and into the brachial vein
from the forelimb.
The posterior vena cava carries deoxygenated blood to the lower half of the body the hepatic veins of
the liver, the renal veins of the kidney, and the genital veins of the gonads. Also connected to the
posterior vena cava is the hepatic portal system, an abdominal vein formed by the two pelvic veins.
The hepatic portal vein of this system provides blood flow to the stomach, intestine, and spleen. The
renal portal system contains veins, as mentioned previously, to the kidneys and the veins obtain the

Essay Transmission, Treatment and Prevention of Salmonella
Transmission, Treatment and Prevention of Salmonella
Abstract
Salmonella is a gram negative rod, which is known to infect humans, birds, and other mammals by
invading and irritating the intestines. It is more common in poultry and swine which, if consumed, can
cause diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and stomach cramps. The infectious disease can be found almost
everywhere and anywhere, including in water, animal feces, raw poultry, and raw seafood. Animals
consume salmonella from the soil or contaminated processed feed. In humans, salmonella can lead to
a developing typhoid like fever that persists among other symptoms. However, there is no vaccine
available for Salmonella but no treatment is needed because the infection is usually simply ... Show

(Rieman, Hans, and Frank L Bryan)
The transmission of Salmonella is primarily oral. Food is the vehicle of spread. (Rieman, Hans, and
Frank L Bryan) Animals can consume salmonella from the soil or contaminated processed feed.
Domestic animals, such as chickens, cattle, pigs, dogs, cats, and especially reptiles, are great carriers
for salmonella. On the other hand, humans usually get a Salmonella infection though the ingestion of
food contaminated with animal feces or infected animal products. Salmonella bacteria are mostly
found in food products such as eggs, meat products, poultry, unpasteurized dairy products, and cheese.
(Salmonella Infection) The bacteria can also be found in water and can be spread if consumed.
Salmonella present on raw meat and poultry could survive if the product is not cooked to the safe
minimum internal temperature, as measured with a food thermometer (Salmonella Infection).
Salmonella could also become present on otherwise ready to eat foods such as salad through food to
food contact or cross contamination (when contaminated food comes into contact with clean food
therefore passing the bacteria and thus infecting said food). Another, rarer form of salmonella,
typhoidal salmonella, is carried only by humans and is usually transmitted through direct contact with
the fecal matter of an infected person. This kind of salmonella infection can lead to

Lousy Sex Summary
The article The Opposite Sex: with Lisa May Stevens excerpted from the book Lousy Sex, by Gerald
N. Callahan dives deep into the concept of gender that we humans have deemed a taboo subject. This
article sought to question what gender is and why humans feel the need to have it. Callahan explores
other species that ignore our strict rules regarding gender and thrive just the same. This article was
extremely fascinating and helped me to open up my perception as to what gender truly is. It was also
surprising to me that so many other people are confused as to what gender really is. Humans have
tried so hard to make gender black and white, but it is often more flowing and unique to each person.
Gender is an amazingly interesting topic that seeks ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This gender nonconformity that Lisa May has, was obviously not something that Lisa May chose, but
is something that she has to live with and hopefully can love. I was surprised to hear that Lisa May
lives in Fort Collins, as a lot of the people here are what most would classify as hegemonic America. I
am so appreciative of people who dare to identify as something different and people like Lisa May,
who wear these differences on the outside. I appreciated this article s description of Lisa May and the
way it showed her humanness and I can now understand that we have more similarities than
differences. One of the quotes in the article that really stuck with me was when Lisa May said, I d
rather people see me as sexy than as a dog dressed up. Not only is this very strong language with a lot
of imagery, but it really makes others think about their actions. To think of any women calling herself
a dog is heartbreaking and is something that should never go through their minds. What is even more
unsettling is that in the case of Lisa May people feel as though they have the right to see her
differences as ugly. It then makes sense that May would feel as though she would have to do extra.
People like Lisa May will probably always be noticed first in a room, but that doesn t necessarily have

Nutcracker Music Analysis
The Nutcracker had a wide variety of instruments it consists of 2 or more harps, double basses, cellos,
violas, violins, a rattle, 2 trumpets, cymbals, 3 flutes, 2 piccolos, 2 oboes, 2 clarinets, a bass clarinet, 4
horns, 2 bassoons, 3 trombones, a tuba, a tam tam, a military drum and a glockenspiel. Two large
elements that are unique to this piece are the style of the music and the dynamics. The style of the
music because, the song was unique for Russia and added a tint of joy to the cymphony. Other songs
of that time were focused more on bass depth more than pleasure to the youth. Dynamics because, it
features sudden high pitch at little notice and unexpected low pitches. The high and low pitches were
unique for the style of music. The style ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Case Study Of Simply Laksa
1. Background Started in 2008 as a social enterprise, Laksania s (pronounced as Laksa nia ) founder
Madam Sim Sin Sin, hopes to introduce the flavour of asian laksas to the world. The name Laksania,
in the Singapore context refers to Simply Laksa ; the only restaurant in Singapore specializing in
serving laksa related dishes that are halal. Laksania was initially successful for Madam Sim, who had
dedicated her heart into running Laksania. She gave up her comfortable position as a CEO, pumping
almost S$2m into R D, training, setting up, and operations. She had even resorted to selling her landed
home in order to fund the business. (Ling, 2014), Despite her efforts, Madam Sim started to encounter

discount for every two bowls of vegetarian laksa ordered. Not only does this prove that Laksania can

Metamorphosis 5-7 Of The Sermon At The Sermon On The Mount
The New Testament of the Christian Bible has been believed, critiqued, scrutinized, and intensely
studied since it came into existence. Men and women around the globe have argued and interpreted
sections of the book in several different ways. Whereas the entire book rarely agrees with most people
s ethical or spiritual values, portions of the book have become entwined with social and legal codes in
the modern world. Chapters 5 7 of the book of Matthew, one of four gospel books that chronicle the
life of Jesus, are commonly referred to at the Sermon on the Mount. This widely accepted passage
inspires millions around the world and has done so for thousands of years. Naturally, some of the most
historically significant human rights movements use ideas and concepts discussed by Jesus in the
Sermon on the Mount regardless of their religious affiliation. Mahatma Gandhi, Martin Luther King,
and Dietrich Bonheoffer, all implemented aspects of the sermon in their respective struggles against
oppressive groups. This text, regardless of its origin, provides an exceptional ethical base and acts as
an effective tool when applied to social movements. Mahatma Gandhi ... Show more content on

In these verses, Jesus explains that the suffering in the world will not last, and that those who strive for
righteousness, mercy, and peace will receive eternal rewards in the kingdom of heaven. All three of
these men can relate to verse 10 which reads, Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness
sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven (Matt. 5:10). A major reason these three men are celebrated
is because all were killed fighting for righteousness. Gandhi and King each received bullets for their
service to society, and Bonheoffer faced the noose at the hands of the Nazi regime. All of them
understood that what they believed in was greater than life itself, and that their reward was not
something mortal but

This idea of the main character being so close to achieving love but falling short causes the theme of love being rare to illuminate. Alexandre Dumas conjured characters, D Artagnan and Athos, help depict his vision of love being something that hurts the lover through the use of character personality. Athos, the mysterious musketeer, drinks solemnly while his companions laugh and make jokes, and despite his age being much younger than his companions, he acts much older and mature. For the longest time there was no explanation for his troubles until he finally spills his past about his one and only lover. After explaining that the woman he loved deceived him for his riches he explains, I tied her hands behind her back and hung her from a tree. I murdered her. That cured me me of beautiful, poetic and amorous women (253). From upon initial confrontation to Athos, the reader finally understands the reasons for Athos contrasting personalities with his friends. He poured his love out for another women who used it to blind him of her true intentions. He kills his love and is permanently scarred in terms of his character being forever changed to the dark and saddened man the reader sees today. Not only do we see that love is a force that hurts but also the character again see s how rare love truly is. D Artagnan is not invulnerable to love s ability to hurt either. • 4. Corporal Punishment Of Children. Corporal Punishment of Children When I was in middle school at St. Mary s Catholic School, in Ethiopia, I used to see our teachers using different techniques to punish my classmates. I remember an incident in middle school where a friend of mine was punished in a harmful way because he failed to answer a question. Although the use of corporal punishment in schools is intended to change the behavior of the student, teachers should not be allowed to use this method to punish their students as it is not effective for the child s behavioral change, and it affects the student s behavior psychologically and physically. To start with, allowing teachers to use the corporal punishment causes physical damage on the student and abuses the child right. It is obvious that most punishments somehow results in pain. When I was in middle school, our math teacher Ms. Helen used to order us to solve a question by writing on the blackboard to show the other students. One day my classmate, Daniel was asked to solve a problem on the board, but he didn t write a complete answer. Ms. Helen was so angry with him that she put her pen between his pointing and middle fingers and twisted it so tight. We were so terrified because we had never seen someone being punished like that before. Daniel couldn t move his fingers and was taken to the hospital to fix his broken fingers. Our math teacher was fired right away for the excessive use of force on ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Taking a Look at Big Data The amount of data in our world has been rapidly increasing and analyzing these large data sets, or big data, has become crucial for businesses in increasing their success. Many businesses use big data to model their business structures, control processes, and run the business. The availability of this data leads to a more accurate analysis of the target market. More accurate analyses lead to more confident decision making and better decisions means greater operational efficiencies, cost reductions and reduced risk. There are many ways in which big data can be successfully implemented in an organization. Big data allows businesses to segment their target market, creating more precisely tailored products and services. The concept that Africa was once rather like Europe in its many medieval kingdoms, and their upheavals and struggles to be the greatest power, is not widely considered by the general population. Ancient Africa was a place of great tales, heroes, and conquests however. The memories of these still linger even today. The storytellers of Africa are griots. They are a mysterious group, who hold the legends and history of Africa, and orally pass them down father to son through the generations. One of these great stories is the Epic of Sundiata. As this legend is so well known, and has been told so many times, it is difficult to separate fact from fiction. The Epic of Sundiata, is still however a gold mine of true knowledge if one only sorts out the myths and pyrite. Still that is not so simple a task. The epic was for the longest time an oral tradition, told by the griots to the villages and cities they lived in. The original griot of the story lived it, and although the epic has most likely been added to for dramatic effect over the centuries, the original tale must have been much closer to the truth. There is some doubt however over the legitimacy of some parts of the story. In the epic Sundiata and his main rival Soumaoro, are accomplished sorcerers (particularly Soumaoro), as well as other women magicians in the story. It is in fact very unlikely that Sundiata and Soumaoro communicated by familiars (animals that supposedly lend their sight, hearing, and speaking to the sorcerers who control them, in this case Soumaoro s owl), or that Soumaoro was invincible for their first couple battles, Nor is it probable that Sundiata s mother was possessed by an evil ... Despite the fact that the both holidays ring in the new year and we get a break from school, Rosh Hashanah holds a different and deeper meaning. On the surface both holidays seem to be the same: there are resolutions, there are celebrations taking place, and we bustle around to prepare for coming holidays. However, when you take a closer look you can see that these are only shallow similarities. Both on New Years and on Rosh Hashana we make resolutions, promising to begin to better ourselves. However on New Years our resolutions are for us. We make promises to ourselves. When we make resolutions they not only involve but a second party as well. They also involve hashem. Firstly, the hustle and bustle of getting ready for a party is not required, some people opt to stay at home and watch the ball drop on their TV. • 10. Myth Of Korea Essay Grains have been one of the most important staples of the Korean diet. Early myths of the foundations of various kingdoms in Korea center on grains. One foundation myth relates to Jumong, who received barley seeds from two doves sent by his mother after establishing the kingdom of Goguryeo.[4] Yet another myth speaks of the three founding deities of Jeju Island, who were to be wed to the three princesses of Tamna; the deities brought seeds of five grains which were the first seeds planted, which in turn became the first instance of farming.[5] During the pre modern era, grains such as barley and millet were the main staples and were supplemented by wheat, sorghum, and buckwheat. Rice is not an indigenous crop to Korea, and millet was likely the preferred grain before rice was cultivated. Rice became the grain of choice during the Three Kingdoms period, particularly in the Silla and Baekje Kingdoms in the southern regions of the peninsula. Rice was such an important commodity in Silla that it was used to pay taxes. The Sino Korean word for tax is a compound character that uses the character for the rice plant. The preference for rice escalated into the Joseon period, when new methods of cultivation and new varieties emerged that would help increase production.[6] ... • 11. A Political Allegory In George Orwell s Animal Farm George Orwell s novel, Animal Farm, was his very first piece of political writing. On the surface, this novel is about a group of miserable and mistreated farm animals that overthrow their neglectful owner; they take control of the farm. However, it too is a political allegory mainly focusing on the Russian Revolution. Orwell wrote Animal Farm in response to what had occurred in the Russian Revolution. Seeing how the people were being manipulated over for their freedom, he decided to write about these events through farm animals. The author s purpose of writing this novel is to warn his audience that power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Orwell s intent on fusing political purpose and artistic purpose into one whole, was truly successful. A year after Orwell published Animal Farm, he published Why I Write. He used his autobiographical essay to establish clarification on the political meanings of his various creations. After Animal Farm was published, his audience was left with many questions and no answers to the reasoning behind Orwell s thoughts. In response to all this confusion Orwell wrote Why I Write. This autobiographical essay is about the evolution of his writing career. The author s purpose for Why I Write is to provide a deeper understanding and reasoning for the messages his art contains. There are four major subcategories of obvious fraud: Appraisal fraud. This is frequently associated with the aforementioned property flipping. Lenders rely on accurate appraisals to ensure that loans are fully secured. In appraisal fraud, appraisers fail to accurately evaluate the property; this may be unintentional, or they may intentionally become a party to a fraud scheme begun by the lender or borrower. Identity theft. This is very common in both the real estate and credit card markets, and involves a borrower who assumes the identity of another person in order to secure a loan. The thieves take the overage and run. Both victims (the bank and the person whose identity was stolen) typically incur financial losses. Cash back schemes. Here, the price of a property is illegally inflated in order to provide a cash back transaction to the participants. Lifestyle magazine are magazines that tells the audience about the lifestyle they live and can have an impact on their lives as their views can be subverted by the ideology of the magazine. This ideology comes from the creators of the magazine; they put what they think instead of what the public thinks about a certain topic. In this writing i am going to talk about what the lifestyle magazines do in order to attract specific audience and how they achieve in targeting specific audience. The two lifestyle magazines that i am going to talk about are FHM and Cosmopolitan magazine. These magazines were released on november 2013 and the target audience between the two has links and oppositions. On both magazines, the central image is the image of females; which suggests that these magazines are targeted at female. But, on the front of these magazines it is a picture of seductive females which implies that the audience is different and possibly males as they would get attracted. I am going to start by analysing how FHM targets their audience and keep their loyalty so that they would not look for another magazine to replace the FHM magazine they currently hold. This magazine is promoting anti feminism as the main central image is of a woman with a seductive look which is representing woman in a negative manner. Also, further connotes objectification of woman as the clothes signifiers shows ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Consequently, the trial took place in Fulton County Court, one of the largest parts of Atlanta. Baltazar s body had been found just over the line in the DeKalb County portion of Atlanta. Reading the goals of the periodization really stood out to me, because these goals are what is going to lay out the overall theme of an athlete s training routine. Whether it s decreasing the risk of injury, or improving the many components that improve an athlete s performance the goals set for the training of Concordia athletes is amazingly well organized and executed. The thing that I took out of this paper that I will try to take with me the rest of my athletic career, is that there is a lot of preparation and effort that goes into my training here, and these training programs are made for my benefit, so I should not waste the strength coach s time by not giving it my all in the weight room, or not showing up at all. However; the use of these two methods plateaued as many people were concerned with the health of the infants and the mothers. The ultimate goal of delivery is the safety and protection of both the mother and the child. For a time, and still to this day, women turned to hospitals to ensure that safety. However, as a new wave of feminism has empowered mothers to take control of the natural birthing process, more and more women are reverting back to the home birth method. The figures indicate that birth at home is risky when compared to birth in the hospital mostly where there are a delivery complications, and emergency services are needed. According to the Federal birth registers, out of a thousand babies born at home, 3.9 would likely to have birth defects mostly associated with delivery emergency and complications. On the other hand, the same statistics claim that for the hospital based deliveries, only 1.8 of one thousand babies faced birth related defects (Mathews, Curtin through Friday, 2015). The statists also point out that there is a high risk of deficiency when the baby is born at home than when born in the hospital environment. The defects as result of childbirth related complication are high in midwives attended birth than those delivery process carried out in hospital when there is an emergency. Statisticians document 7 defects per one thousand deliveries that have associated birth complications with deliveries attended by midwives. Each class is likely to consist of some visual learners, some auditory learners, and some hands on learners. Some students may work best in groups, while others work best independently. Some students may do well with mathematics and logic but poorly with visual spatial skills, or any combination of the multiple intelligences. While there is always room for improvement with how these students are included in the class, the American public school system has come a long way. In order to best understand inclusion of students with significant learning needs in a public school classroom and the progress that has been made, it is important to have a solid understanding of the history of public education in the United States, and the progress that has been made. The history of public education in America starts with the Puritans in the 1600s in New England. At this time, the primary goal of education was to teach children to read and understand the Bible in order to ward off Satan. The first act that mandated education was the Massachusetts Act of 1642 that required parents to be sure that their children knew the principles of religion and the capital laws of the commonwealth (Matzat, 2009). A notable point about this act is that it did not really address school at all, only stating that parents were responsible for the education of their children. The idea behind this was that if all citizens understood laws and scripture, they would in turn abide by those laws. In 1647, the Old Deluder Satan Act was established, creating the foundation of public education as we know it today (Matzat, 2009). This act required ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 23. Informative Speech For Human Trafficking All lives matter. What s the word that describes someone who thinks that the world revolves around them? Self centered? Egocentric? Narcissist? Vain? Self seeking? Selfish? Hm. Is that too harsh? We live in society today where we are only concerned about ourselves. Somehow, we have adopted the mentality that life revolves strictly around me and what I want. We are so consumed with ourselves that we have totally forgotten about the thousands of people who struggle every day for their life. Who are these people that I am talking about? The people who are promised a better life but instead are trapped into this terrible system where they are forced to do things they never knew about. This system is called Human trafficking. Today, I would like to convince you that this world does not revolve around you. What exactly is human trafficking? We have all heard of it, but what actually is it. It s a modern form of slavery. It involves controlling a person through force, fraud, or coercion to exploit the victim for forced labor, sexual exploitation, or both. It strips victims of their freedom and violates our nation s promise that every person in the U.S. is guaranteed basic human rights. This is a crime (Beccera). Sadly, the United States is widely regarded as a destination country for human trafficking. According to the federal reports, nearly 14,500 to 17,500 victims are trafficked in the United States annually. That doesn t even include the number of victims that are trafficked WITHIN the United States. If you are looking for a defined definition of human trafficking, California legislatures states it as being ALL acts involved in the recruitment, abduction, transport, harboring, transfer, sale or receipt of persons, within national or across international borders, through force, coercion, fraud or deception, to place persons in situations of slavery or slavery like conditions, forced labor or services, such as forced prostitution or sexual services, domestic servitude, bonded sweatshop labor, or other debt bondage. • 24. The Effects Of Housing Prices On Household s Consumption 2 Literature Review Housing is always regarded as a main fortune of family. Thus the changes of housing price will affect household s consumption a lot (Duli et al.,2010). Theoretically, the rise of housing price can boost the households spending by wealth effect and collateral effect , it also can constrain consumer spending by liquidity restrain effect or substitute effect . The rise of housing price will raise family s current fortune or improve the collateral scale which will enhance family s borrowing capacity (Aoki,2002) and promote households consumption (Iacoviello,2004, Lindner,2014). Gathergood, J. Some scholars show their doubts to the wealth effect . Phang, S.Y. Twins open a portal for researchers to study the oldest debate in psychology; nature vs. nurture, a concept that seems to stump many and have few models to learn from. Essentially, there are two types of twins. There are identical twins, who are monozygotic, developing from a single fertilized egg, split. Then, there are fraternal twins, who come from two separate fertilized eggs, making them dizygotic. For example, identical twins many be raised in the same household and both enjoy horseback riding, while a set of fraternal twins may not both enjoy horseback riding. The standard study conducted is based on twins raised in the same family environment, as this method can show how life experiences play a role. Many twins are raised in the same home and share a lot of the same experiences, which can impact their behavior, no matter the genetic makeup. A significant theory associated with twin studies is the Random Mating theory. In this theory, researchers tend to assume that people are as likely to choose partners who are different from themselves as they are to choose partners who are similar for a particular trait (2017). While twin studies are essential in gathering data for behavioral genetics, they can only estimate the heritability of a trait, while molecular genetics attempts to pinpoint the effects of a particular gene. While twins who grow up in a similar environment is the ideal method used, there are cases that involve twins who grew up in separate environments. Analysis Of The Poem Jabberwocky By Lewis Carroll In his poem Jabberwocky , Lewis Carroll tells the tale of a boy warned by his father of the dangerous creatures that lurk outside, where then the boy goes out and slays one of the most dangerous, therefore receiving praise and gratitude from his father. Carroll utilizes sound in the form of made up words, rhyme, and tone to create a fanciful atmosphere that exploits our fear and curiosity to develop a theme of good versus evil. In this context, man is seen as good while beast is viewed as evil. This poem takes place in a make believe world formulated in Carroll s imagination. Going along with the fanciful setting are the fanciful words that the author created just for this poem. He uses portmanteaus to adjust adjectives to fit into his fantastical setting. His first portmanteau is slithy (line 1). This is a combination of lithe and slimy . He s using this to describe the toves (a type of badger) and by creating this new word, it better fits into his make believe world. The motions of your mouth and tongue when saying the word slithy simply feel the same as the word s meaning; your tongue moves forward and back actively as lithe implies, while the slimy part comes with feeling that the word is smooth, it slips with your tongue as you say it. This adds to the poem s sound because this single word adds texture and meaning to the poem. Another example of a portmanteau is frumious (line 8). • 32. Biblical Interpretations Of Samson s Biblical Quotions Biblical Quotations Samson broke one of his three Nazirite vows: eating anything that is unclean, especially anything associated with the corpse of an animal or human. His vows are brought up earlier in Judges 13 and even earlier in Numbers 6: 6 8 and Samson breaks this vow in Judges 14: 5 9. This is where the narrator is speaking and says starting in verse 8, he turned aside to see the carcass of the lion, and there was a swarm of bees in the body of the lion, and honey. He scraped it out into his hands, eating as he went (NRSV). Samson seems to break another Nazirite vow in Judges 14: 10 11 when the narrator says, Samson s father goes down to arrange for the marriage, and Same made a feast was was the custom for weddings. The word feast in this context suggests a drinking fest the Nazirite vow says in Judges 13:4, be careful not to drunk wine or strong drink and clarifies more in Number 6: 3 4. What Are The Barriers Of Gender Equality Today, the world is not doing as well as people would like: gender equality has yet to be achieved, climate change is putting millions at risk, two hundred million people are unemployed, and people are more stressed than ever. Trying to solve these world challenges, people are working more and more hours, yet little progress is being made. The solution is rather simple: work less. Women around the world are under represented in the workforce, making up less than 20% of CEO positions, and, in America, fewer than 20% of Congressional positions are filled by women. Reasons for this lack of representation may be due to prejudice, but it is important to recognize that women are viewed as the primary child caregiver in most families. For this reason, many women take off work for several months after childbirth and are often thwarted from higher positions because they take leave. If both males and females had shorter work weeks, then both genders would be able to devote more time to child care, allowing women to continue to work sooner and progress in their fields. In addition, studies have shown that men who take paternity leave are more devoted to their families and are 50% more likely to help their wives with domestic labor, such as cooking, cleaning, and laundry. Thus, the shorter work week would lead to both equal representation in the work place and at home, subsequently, breaking the barriers of gender inequality. As a teacher you have to realize students care a lot about what they tell you and they trust you that you re listening. No, you re not going to remember every little thing a kid tells you, but at that moment they expect you just to listen and give some type of reaction or response. With being understandable I take it from a personal experience. When I was younger my family was going through some things and I missed a lot of school. Once I got back the teacher didn t even ... However, Criminal punishment is a huge source of controversy in the United States. Opponents often argue that innocent people are sometimes executed and that the main motive is revenge, not true justice. America s death penalty is influenced from Britain, making up over half of the methods used today. When European settlers came to America, capital punishment was practiced. The first recorded death sentence was George Kendall in 1608 at Jamestown, Virginia. He was executed for being a spy for Spain. (Rieman, Hans, and Frank L Bryan) The transmission of Salmonella is primarily oral. Food is the vehicle of spread. (Rieman, Hans, and Frank L Bryan) Animals can consume salmonella from the soil or contaminated processed feed. Domestic animals, such as chickens, cattle, pigs, dogs, cats, and especially reptiles, are great carriers for salmonella. On the other hand, humans usually get a Salmonella infection though the ingestion of food contaminated with animal feces or infected animal products. • 44. Lousy Sex Summary The article The Opposite Sex: with Lisa May Stevens excerpted from the book Lousy Sex, by Gerald N. Callahan dives deep into the concept of gender that we humans have deemed a taboo subject. This article sought to question what gender is and why humans feel the need to have it. Callahan explores other species that ignore our strict rules regarding gender and thrive just the same. This article was extremely fascinating and helped me to open up my perception as to what gender truly is. It was also surprising to me that so many other people are confused as to what gender really is. Humans have tried so hard to make gender black and white, but it is often more flowing and unique to each person. Gender is an amazingly interesting topic that seeks ... This gender nonconformity that Lisa May has, was obviously not something that Lisa May chose, but is something that she has to live with and hopefully can love. I was surprised to hear that Lisa May lives in Fort Collins, as a lot of the people here are what most would classify as hegemonic America. I am so appreciative of people who dare to identify as something different and people like Lisa May, who wear these differences on the outside. I appreciated this article s description of Lisa May and the way it showed her humanness and I can now understand that we have more similarities than differences. One of the quotes in the article that really stuck with me was when Lisa May said, I d rather people see me as sexy than as a dog dressed up. Not only is this very strong language with a lot of imagery, but it really makes others think about their actions. To think of any women calling herself a dog is heartbreaking and is something that should never go through their minds. What is even more unsettling is that in the case of Lisa May people feel as though they have the right to see her differences as ugly. It then makes sense that May would feel as though she would have to do extra. People like Lisa May will probably always be noticed first in a room, but that doesn t necessarily have to be a ... Metamorphosis 5-7 Of The Sermon At The Sermon On The Mount The New Testament of the Christian Bible has been believed, critiqued, scrutinized, and intensely studied since it came into existence. Men and women around the globe have argued and interpreted sections of the book in several different ways. Whereas the entire book rarely agrees with most people s ethical or spiritual values, portions of the book have become entwined with social and legal codes in the modern world. Chapters 5 7 of the book of Matthew, one of four gospel books that chronicle the life of Jesus, are commonly referred to at the Sermon on the Mount. This widely accepted passage inspires millions around the world and has done so for thousands of years. Naturally, some of the most historically significant human rights movements use ideas and concepts discussed by Jesus in the Sermon on the Mount regardless of their religious affiliation. Mahatma Gandhi, Martin Luther King, and Dietrich Bonheoffer, all implemented aspects of the sermon in their respective struggles against oppressive groups.
