and other feature film shootings. Various film shooting permissions
from various departments of State Government like, police, forest, ASI,
TSM, Sports Authority, CPWD etc. were required, which were time-

Manualâ MD DTTDC was nominated as Nodal Office for single window
clearance by Min of I&B GoI, Min of TSM GoI& Delhi Government.
Bollywood Film producers used to get all permissions in 5-6 months for
film shooting in Delhi. Creation of Single window system and
facilitation for Bollywood films was a success story, with procuring all
permissions within a month alongside other facilitations by authorities
which even resulted into acknowledging efforts of DTTDC.Films like
Ranjhana, Madras CafÊ and PK etc. acknowledged role of DTTDC while
first two films even acknowledgedthe role of MD & CEO for
accelerating permissions.

to clean Narafgarh drain water to make it fit for swimming, rafting and
kayaking. The project also had 12 air-conditioned cottages with pantry
and kitchen for stay of 12 families/ 24 persons in âhome away homeâ
concept.This was a non-PPP Project though the idea was to handover
its operation by a private party with annual expenditure for cleaning
of drain water @ INR 12 Cr. per year and earn double this amount
through visits from Delhi local population and outsiders.

A Guru Teg Bahadur Memorial was created at NH-1, SINGHU Border of
Delhi at a cost of INR 25 Cr. Guru Teg Bahadur (GTB) the 9th Guru of
Sikh religion belongs to Delhi. A horizontal projection with light and

sound show type arrangement with storytelling of GTB as âHind
kiChadarâ followed by âPanchTatwaâ concept (Phoenix Bird Concept)
of 11 and 12 minutes each was conceived. Theinitial song was sung by
Daler Mehndi, followed by storytelling in the voice of Om Puri in Hindi
show and Kabir Bediin English show for 11 minutes. It was followed by
spectacular mixture of sound and light projection on horizontal area of
8 metresquare surface with 200 seating capacity outside the
projection area withtotal cost was about INR 10 Cr. The project was
awarded, operated and maintained by an Indian company in joint
venture with UK, a a first of its kind in India. While project was
completed in 8 months from date of preparing concept paper to
inauguration of show. The idea was to increase footfall of travelers of
all religions from Delhi and outside to get information about the 9th
Guru.

The following steps were followed:
īˇ A concept paper was prepared and was found that it is a First-of-
its-kind project in India. Similar projects are executed in Costa Rica,
Mexico, USA other African countries and other countries having
âRainforest type of climateâ.
īˇ It was conceived as Non-PPP, fully funded by State project as the
project was non revenue generating project.
īˇ Two sites were identified- one at ChidiyaTapu and the other at Mt
Harriet. At ChidiyaTapu, a canopy walk of 750 meters was
conceived with Paddock trees (which is supposed to be most
durable and extensively used in Buckingham Palace) as pillars at a
distance of 25 meters each. The whole path was to be created with
wooden material and steel ropes.
īˇ RFQ/RFP were issued and finally, the project was awarded to an
agency which had consortium with USA (Atlanta) and an
experience of 10 years.
īˇ To ensure its strength and security for the travelers walking on the
canopy, the project was sent for study by IIT Bombay academic
team.
īˇ Though initially, Paddock wood was to be used in walkway
however, it was reported that there was a shortage of Paddock
wood for construction and a suitable alternative was being
considered.

īˇ Havelock and Neil island sites were awarded 2 different partners
while Lalaji Bay island was withdrawn due to changes in Coastal
Regulation Zone restrictions.Finally, 2 sites were developed.

Purchase of Helicopter with 100% subsidy
īˇ Under TRP scheme, A&N administration was required to
purchase 1 Helicopter with 100% subsidy at a cost of INR 30
crores. Subsequently, it was observed that the operating cost
of helicopter is very high as 3 helicopters were already in
operation in A&N.
īˇ Keeping in view, high demand of tourists, a âSea Planeâ concept
was developed instead of purchasing Helicopter outrightly.
īˇ Pawan Hans helicopters were approached to explore the
possibility of bringing Sea plane for the first time in India on
Wet lease method.
īˇ Finally, first sea plane in India was started for ferrying tourists
from Port Blair to Havelock and Diglipur area. It was a success
story in civil aviation sector in India.

refurbishment of the resort will require INR 27 crore to make
it State-of-the-art project.
īˇ Though Planning Commission objected to the idea, MoT
approved the project for the enhanced amount.
īˇ This is one-of-a-kind of Eco-resort under the control of A&N
admin (non PPP) which attracts domestic and foreign tourists.

īˇ Out of 50 sites in 15 islands, Tourism department identified 39
sites with very good, good and average beaches where
tourism can be developed in the future. In the first phase, 4
sites ie. Bharatpur, Radhanagar, Lalaji Bay and Hut bay were
to be developed under PPP mode.
īˇ Tourism department also planned to develop rest of the 34
sites near beaches having Eco-huts, change rooms, toilets and
garbage bins under Camp sites scheme of GoI. A model was
prepared with the help of a group comprising of Civil Engineer,
Architect, representative of Tourism and Forest department
and other experts.
īˇ Since the land at these sites belonged to Forest Department,
so, the matter was being taken up with the Forest Department
for allowing utilization of land.
