2. ENAMEL PAINT
•Generally these are oil based paint.
•This type of paint is produced by adding lead or
zinc to varnish.
• Pigments are added to achieve a wide variety of
colors.
• Enamel paints form hard and glossy coatings,
which are easily cleaned. They are characterized by
being waterproof and chemically resistant, offering
good coverage and color retention.

3. COMPOSITION

Typically the term "enamel paint" is used to describe oil-based covering
products, usually with a significant amount of gloss In them, however
recently many latex or water-based paints have adopted the term as
well. The term today means "hard surfaced paint" and usually is in
reference to paint brands of higher quality, floor coatings of a high gloss
finish, or spray paints

•The main limitations of enamel paint are slow drying, and

8. DISADVANTAGES OF ENAMEL PAINT
• More expansive as compare to latex paint.
• Its has very strong odour.
• Not environmental friendly.
• must be done with a solvent such as mineral
spirits or paint thinner.
• Not easy to clean when it attached to hand and
brushes.
• Another paint not be applied over the enamel
paint.

9. PROCEDURE TO APPLY ENAMEL
Preparation of surface
• Apply 1 coat of primer on the surface of the object and let them
dry.(red oxide primer for metal, wooden primer)
• then apply one coat of putty or filler eg wood filler,
• Make smooth with the help of sand paper.
• Apply 2nd coat of primer on the surface of the object.
Apply enamel paints
• Enamel paint is directly used.
• Add solvent as per the norms.
• Apply 1 coat on the surface on the object with help of brush or gun or
cotton cloth.
• Apply 2nd coat on the surface on the abject and let them dry for 7 to 8
hours
