My fighter pilot life is my life (my professional life) and it is intertwined so tight with my personal
life that there is no observable difference to the untrained eye. I am a fighter pilot because of the
intrinsic deep satisfaction from living out the dream as a high performing fighter pilot who becomes
one with machine to conduct maneuvers that only a few humans will ever experience. I am
confident and I walk with confidence that can be misunderstood as arrogance; however, I do not

In the depiction of Dicky Eklund, David Russell was indeed accurate, even in Dicky's eyes. Dicky
worked with Christian Bale on and off of the set of the film in order to fine tune Bale 's boxing to
better represent the depiction of Dicky's style. Dicky also coached Bale in "Dickynese", which is the
unique diction Dicky uses when speaking in the movie according to Men's Journal. The only aspect
of Dicky Eklund that Russell seemed to leave out was Dicky's sobriety. At the end of the film we see
the short notes of what and how the characters in the film are doing after the movie. It is mentioned

Fighter). What the director failed to leave the audience off with is the fact that Dicky returned to his
addiction to crack roughly five years after his release from prison.
Along with his characters accurate depiction, the film also depicted things such as Dicky's actions
quite accurately. The scene in which Dicky got busted for running a fake prostitution game occurred
similarly to the way it did in the true account. Dicky would work with a prostitute who would be
picked up by a buyer looking for a "good time", then Dicky would speed up behind them with his
high beams on blinding the buyer, and pretending he was a cop. He would then rob his scared

A war rages in every home and in every workplace. This war has been fought for many years. This

The Fighter Movie Analysis
The Fighter (2010) directed by David O'Russell is a captivating and passionate sports drama. The
film was easily able to portray the journey that the Eklund–Ward family took on Micky's road to
success in a realistic way which made it easy for me to understand and develop emotions towards
the film and the characters in it. It was an exceptional watch which captured my full attention. The
film made me realise there is always a struggle with success. I saw and experience this while
watching the film and I am able to take this new found awareness with me into the real world when
the film is over. The performance of the characters and the realistic portrayal of drugs in this film are
major aspects that make this film so beguiling.
In the film the main character Micky Ward is a very promising boxer. Being a boxer is a family
thing, his mother, Alice Ward, is his manager and his stepbrother brother, Dicky Eklund, is his
trainer. Dicky is unreliable and Alice is very resilient. The two were very controlling over Micky
and feel they have some sense of supremacy of him. However, even though Micky is working hard
to try and make the best of his situation, he keeps getting blows that knock him down. They come in
from the left, the right and all other directions, the hits that he receives seem to be the consequences
of having Dicky and Alice as part of team. Despite this and his latest fight being unsuccessful,
Micky still gets back in the ring.

Boeing's CDA (Concept Demonstration Aircraft) completely broke the mold with their design,
which was very different to say the least. Their X–32 aircraft's skin was composed of a material
known as a "thermoplastic matrix", which was a composite material embedded in an epoxy resin.
When heated, this material undergoes a chemical reaction, thus forming a "highly rigid component"
(Sweetman 64). This composite material would give the designers the ability to re–heat and re–
shape the wing without having to start over from the beginning. Boeing insisted on using this kind
of material because it provided them a way to cut cost. This kind of philosophy, accompanied with
their lack of experience in building military aircraft, cost them in the end. After months of
demonstrations between both CDA's, it was Lockheed Martin's X–35 that was chosen due to their
lift–fan design. The advantage of the lift–fan design, when compared to Boeing's vectored thrust
approach, was that it provided more excess power (F–35 Lightning II). With the 126–month, $13
billion contract in hand, the clock was now running for Lockheed Martin to begin production on the
aircraft (Sweetman 95). Pete Aldridge, the Pentagon's Acquisition Chief, made the announcement to
